And every time you sit down, itches it just enough to where you're like, I got to scratch it. And I'm just, like, I'm already starting to bleed almost. I just been... You know, they say don't itch it, and then it's... it like gets, it doesn't.

Like, what, I've never understood that. You're going to be dragging your butt. You got to put a, you got to put your peptobizmo on. I'm going to be doing like the dog drag on the floor. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah, that's tough spot, man. Got some fish, though, so it was worth it. But,

golly, dude. Oh, I saw you scratch. Like walking through the fields? Yeah, I was just in some tall grass. I need to get the mower out there.

Yeah. Well, that's, useless Luke, you know, ranch hand, uh, hadn't seen the lawn mower. He didn't,

he knows where it is. Well, I saw you picking at your behind earlier, and I was like, man, he must have not wiped well. Makes a lot more sense. No, it's just chigs. And that's the worst part about it is people are walking around here thinking, oh, he, you know, he didn't wipe. He didn't wipe properly.

That's not even the case. How does one get rid of chiggers? Is that ointment? I think you, I don't know. I just let them, I just hit them, and eventually they go away. Yeah, it's about a 10-day process, brother. You can't even really self-apply in some of the spots you're saying.

That's the problem. That's the problem is unless you're standing up on the sink, doing the reverse mirror. Oh, no. You don't want the reverse. But then your like, then your ointment is, it's messy. I'd rather have this and chiggers, though. No, that's about it. Yeah, we took the kids to the community pool and I got a little roasted on the nose. Community pool.

Dude, we're in a rent house right now. Dude, I just live in the life. This is the greatest taken as a community pool guy. I picked up my daughter at a community pool on Saturday. I was like, I will never walk in one of these again. It was a wild experience. His first time, first time for me, like, in a public place like that, just kind of in a while. And it was, uh, it was what you'd expect.

I mean, dude, I got, I walked in and I couldn't leave for 30 minutes. Yeah. I mean, I was signing autos on scraps of paper, meeting dads. It was, it was wild. What's the craziest thing you saw at that? A community pool, they can get, why, there's logs floating in pools. They did a, they did, they every, the top of the hour, they do a, I guess, like a 10-minute, a safety swim to like give the kids a break,

which I think is just really the lifeguards don't want to have to. Yeah. That's a, that's a math and take a break. But I thought they're like blowing the whistle and getting everybody out of the pool. And I thought for sure it was a, there's a baby Ruth floating in that pool. And you're about to go clean it out.

Your kids would be on top of the power rankings and who would provide a log. It would have been Colty Bud all day. Wow. We want to talk to him about that. Colty Bud made friends with some 16 year olds hanging on them in the pool, shooting them with water guns. And I'm like, but like, you're seven. Like you need to like find some kids your age.

And he's like, everybody needs friends. It's hard. It's like hard to argue with him. He's got good points. But I'm like, I don't know. He's got pure intention. A seven-year-old hanging out with 16-year-olds like hanging on them at a community pool. Yeah, next thing you know, he's going to be like, hey, Chuck's driving to Toys R Us.

You might have I hit a ride with him. It was like a little early for that, dude. What are we doing? Yeah. What are we doing? But he's Mr. Mayor, dude. He's friends with everybody. Got to give him props.

That was not me. Fun. a little bit of sunburn, a little bit of chiggers. I did a ton of baseball. And shout out ESPN Squeeze Play, college baseball regionals were on. And I really did. I probably watched more baseball this weekend than Jones has in his whole life.

For a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich and a first-round pick, it looks like. Which when we originally saw this, I said, whoa, that compensation doesn't feel right. As we know it, as of now, the Rams are sending Jared Verse, a really good young player and a 2027 first-round pick

in additional draft compensation. You've got to have more draft compensation. I don't know what the numbers were on Miles Garrett's contract. It was surely running out, right? That's why they moved them. Correct. This has been rumored for a long time. Wish that would say the Cowboys.

We're sure it's not the Cowboys. We're positive. Pretty sure. It's the Rams. Just felt like he was going to come home. But yeah, that's a big boy trade in the off season. And then Odell going back to the Giants? Yeah, I got to be honest.

I thought he was done. Yeah, they had the little slot receiver tears Achilles. I don't know if you'll saw that. No. Supposed he was like walking around the house, which you're safe. I still feel like every time you say that, I'm just like, walking around the house. In an Achilles' Ter. I know.

That's not that. No way. It feels like an extracurricular pickup. game that needs to be masked as walking around the house. Yeah. Yeah. Obj, I honestly didn't know he was still, he was still playing. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Good for him. Feels like desperation there. Good for him. One of the first guys we filmed? Honestly, the giants have been in the news a lot lately. So hey, all pub is good pub, I guess. This makes that NFC West that much more juicy. The defending Super Bowl champions now have to get past the Rams. It's just already tough enough. Then you add a

On to basketball, we go. It's 1999 all over again, boys. Spurs, Knicks, finals. First, let's talk game seven. Oklahoma City fell short on their home court.

A lot of people were talking about the emotions post-game. Were all cool with it? Wimby, full-on crying. It's hard to knock a guy for being emotional. Oh, you haven't won anything. Yeah, it was a weird time to do it. Yeah. But, I don't know, he cares. I think he learns from that.

He cares. So I'm fine with it. I do think him and Chet's rivalry is like way undervalued to him. Like going back to that, like, what did you say, 2015? Oh, when they played his U-15ers, yeah, France versus USA. Or, you know, whatever that was. Chet had an inch or two on them at that time. And they've been going out over the years.

And Chet's always been better. And not this series. Passing of the torch for sure. Wimby made Chet look like a used car saleman. What did you think about that? Tyler, if you're not in the know, Chet Holmgren, second best player on OKC as it stood

because they were down J-Dubb. One of their guys was hurt. And he proceeded to take two shots over the course of 30 minutes. I didn't assert himself. I've never seen a guy actively just not be a part of the story. There's a clip going around and he catches it on the corner. Three ball.

No one was on him. He can shoot. Yeah, he shoot a little bit. and just dude just dishes it. Like, weird. On a night they needed the additional scoring, I thought that was really, really weird. Fun fact, also, NBA Cup rematch.

Nicks versus the Spurs. Yeah. Nicks won that one. Knicks have a shot, for sure. If I had to guess so, I mean, the talent from the Spurs just overcomes it. Oddsmakers have San Antonio's slight favorites. Yeah, I think, I think Spurs get it done.

Did you guys see the meme going around of the girl that was trying to buy her boyfriend, a jersey of an NBA player. No. And she couldn't remember the name of the player, but she didn't want to ask him because she was trying to surprise him. And she posted, all I can remember is,

I think his name was something like, sounded like Hector Banana Bread, and it was Wimby. And they used some AI to figure it out, and it was a funny post. That's really fun. The Internet did its thing and had some fun with that one.

So Hector Banana Bread. Look for him to have a beautiful. big series coming up. He needs to have a personalized banana bread jersey now with his first. Yeah. Also this weekend was Champions League final. That's true.

Where PSG played Arsenal, went down to penalties. I'm not a big fan of. We've talked about that before. Your boy, Ezi. You didn't look the part, huh? Bad.

But dude, so Ezi is a right foot. Gabriel is left and they, at the internet put the like one hop to the left, one hop to the right. And this guy was so.

see that. That was such a funny post. I entered that, man. You don't want to make mistakes online. They will torch you. And it lives for a end for it too. But, yeah, I agree with Sir Alex Ferguson on this one. Arsenal just defended for the entire game.

He ain't going to win it. It's kind of the dark side of scoring early. Sometimes you change your tactics. That was on full display. On full display there. Dude, I also saw a post that, like, I'm talking huge players. eight of PSG's player like starters didn't even play 50% of League 1 minutes this year

Anybody going to take the Spurs? Anybody going to take a bite out of the Big Apple? They got the mojo right now. They do. And I do think there is something to be said of just the gauntlet that was the Western Conference and the Spurs having to survive that series. Yeah. I think it's important for the Knicks to get out and go early in this series.

I want it for my boy, DJ Michael. Yeah. I hope Knicks do get it on. I just don't see it happening. But I hope the Knicks can. I'm cheering for the Knicks. He just got engaged. He did.

Take skill. There's no doubt about it. Where do we stand on this being a sport, though? I mean, if golf's a sport? I don't think pro golfers could do this. I don't think like Xander Schaftly could get out there and be like hitting lines like this. I think they could disagree.

They put the time that these guys do. There's a reason why they're not playing it doesn't correlate. You're saying they show up and play on that same course against the putters. No practice. They beat them by six strokes. I agree. Bryson almost beat our course record here on his first time through ever. I'm not giving it to him, dude.

I'm not giving it to him. I'm giving it to him, I believe. Put some respect on these pro minigolfer's names, dude. I'm not. I refuse to do it. That was a good one. This next one, power trowel obstacle course. Is this like a Zimbony?

It's like a zero turn. Concrete finisher. Guys. Not a sport Not even in the conversation But I will say Every time I'm mowing on the like zero turn You feel like you're a race car driver

Those are powerful Cutting your skinners But like this is to me like being able to I'm trying to think of the musical equivalent Like you're a great cello player It's like how do you You can't bring a cello anywhere To show off your skill

This is kind of the same thing There's a time and place for a cello There's a time in place for a trial challenge Yeah. Like I'm a great part player. It's held on a large concrete slab and they weave a 48-inch ride on a ride-on trowel through a course. Is it a speed? Okay.

Tennis balls on the cones too, so if they hit them, it knocks it off. That's a good touch. That's like straight out of DP 2016 stuff. I just put a tennis ball on top. Now we will know if we knock it off. I feel like I'd be very good at this just with my zero turn. Oh, I'm a phenomenal zero-turn driver. I mean, you would be good then.

Yeah, we would put on a show, dude. Do we need to do another, even if it's just for another get crafty, the lawn mowing designs? People don't talk about that one enough. That was a good, like you give us a couple hours. We could do some really impressive stuff. Yeah, that was a fun one. We might need to bring that back at some point. This is a speed test, boys, but hitting a cone or dislodging a tennis ball does add time to your final run. Yeah. I like that it was self-explanatory. I mean, you could see it just by looking at it. I don't know if they could turn it on. They struggled out there. They did. And then they didn't know how to engage the blades and then like lower your deck and everything. It's brutal, dude. The sweater call is that it's tough. I'm running low. That's me procrastinating the laundry. Can you relate to that?

A little bit. You're not much more procrastinator? Every now and then, but sometimes if you just got to wear something dirty, put it on, bro. Yeah, I try to avoid that. You know, just it's common courtesy. We got to, we got to mention something here. What's that? Yeah, it's a big deal.

One thing we didn't intro you with, and just part of your intro, was you're going to be facing us this summer in Jacksonville as part of the Dude Perfect squad games tour. First of its kind. Yikes. Probably not. Because you're ready, probably. That's what I think. That's what I think. things that I will not be prepared for, but I look forward to competing a little bit. Is there more pressure walking out of the tunnel of an NFL game or squad games? Because I know that's got to be pretty close. Your nerves are going to be high. We'll see. He doesn't know. So we're living the girl dad life, by the way. Let's go. I've got two girls right now, five and two, and we're about to have our third girl in two weeks. So cool, man. So we're full blown. I'm girl dad.

It's been amazing. I'm telling my now five year old, hey, I'm gonna train you to change a diaper. It's like that's where I'm at. It's genius. Change of responsibilities. It's amazing. Like if she, so far, you know,

We're going to start with the baby doll, and we're going to move up to the two-year-old, and then she's going to be ready. You have a weed eater in your two-year-old's hand already, too? You feel like you're a better doer or coacher? We're about to find out, aren't we? With the five-year-old, we're about to find out. I feel like my coaching skills are pretty good.

Okay. Yeah, but this is uncharted territory. Can you walk us through what that's going to look like when you're coaching? Yeah, in this exact situation. My oldest, her name's Carter. I'm going to say, Carter, look, here we go. Let's lock in here. We got your American Girl doll.

We're going to work in. here we go let's bring this one in okay we're gonna start with the bottom open it up come here two side flaps you're done okay now that's low pressure yeah that's a lot of here we goes too i agree you're building yeah you're building then we're gonna move up to the real life sister helen okay helen is too this is where things are going to get really interesting because she doesn't just lay still on the ground like the baby doll i think it's gonna be the same game plan but she's gonna be a lot more dialed in that's where we're at that's my game plan the game plan's good you've got i don't know the coaching's gonna go off to record it you know diapers

I probably wouldn't record that. Yeah, you're right. I just felt like we needed to pay off this whole segment. You know what I mean? Diapers aren't won. Otherwise, I don't think this is going to make it. Fair to say diapers aren't won on Saturdays and Sundays. They're one Monday through Friday.

You're right. Now you're coach and how you're game planning. You're right. Let's see what you did. Yeah. Okay, we're going hard left. Totally. Hard left.

We're going back to football. I am left-handed, so I like that. I love that. I love that out of you. God, wanted to be a left-handed basketball player so bad. Well, we do think with our right minds. Ah, God, good to hear. Here's what I want to know.

I want to know NIL. I want your mind. I want your opinion on NIL transfer portal. Like that's what I want to hear from you because for me just as a viewer, it's just the whole landscape is so dramatically different. It is. It's just from my perspective. From my perspective with a kid who never played football, it's very different.

I'm curious what you think about all of it. Well, I think that it's, we hear this a lot, but it's too much of the Wild Wild Wild West. And I think it's awesome that kids are getting the opportunity to earn on their NIL. but I do think there's got to be rules put into place, and especially with the transfer portal. Like I just don't think that kids should be allowed to transfer in season while they're competing. I think that we have to have very clear windows,

and ultimately I think there's some changes that need to be put in place, and there's a lot of people that are working pretty hard at that, and I'm fortunate to be in some of those rooms working with some others to try to do what's best for the game, best for the athletes. And I think when we do that, I think some people feel like it's so far gone. And I don't. I see bits and pieces, but I also see, man, at times the game is just so great. The student athletes.

And I'm not just talking about like football. I'm talking about like women's soccer and volleyball and basketball and all these sports. Like there's, I mean, gymnastics. Like it's awesome. The game we have is so great. I think if we could just be able to put the right governing body. around it to allow these athletes to flourish and ultimately capitalize on their NIL, but do it in a way where still team and loyalty and rivalries are all still part of the game.

And I think we can find that balance and that tension in the middle of all of it. Heck yeah. Yeah, losing some of that pageantry a little bit too. I do not want to lose it because I think it matters so much. You get, you're in Texas. You get that. It matters. Like, I'm so grateful we have Texas playing Texas A&M again.

Need it. Like that needs to be all the time every year. Every year. Regardless. Florida needs to play Florida State. I almost threw up when I said their name. Florida needs to play Georgia. Tennessee needs to play Alabama.

There's some of it that just... It does mean more. And sometimes those games is the biggest part of that season for the fan base, for the players to be able... And some don't even really realize it now, but one day when you look back and you're like, man, we went undefeated against Texas

or undefeated against Oklahoma, the Red River rivalry, whatever that game is for whatever that team. One day they're going to realize that that, ultimately when they look back, was probably more important than a lot of the other games they played in. Because right now it's so much about the playoff, and I love the playoff. It's so much about the hype and the NIL and all of these things.

And those can be really great things. But one of the things you're going to look back and remember, and I get to look back and see it now. Like, I got to play in 12 rivalry games, and we went 11 and 1 and lost one rivalry game, And I think about that one more than I ever think about the other 11 combined. Wow. Not even close.

Wow. You say that because I can't drive through Pilot Point, Texas, without getting a little nauseous. We lost a huge game. We're going to be the first team in program history. You go to the playoffs from my high school, 100 years in the making. And we lost one on the road. And I have a good buddy of mine who the dudes know Deer Leach named Travis Labhart. And he ended up going with the Texans, undrafted free agent for a couple of years,

really maximized his ability. With that said, you bring up Pilot Point. that one sticks with him even more than any college game, any NFL. And I think it's such a good point because that might not be big in the landscape of the world of football. Right? That's just a cross-town rivalry game. But it's big in your world. And it meant the world to you.

And that's what rivalries do. It might not be the biggest game in all of the country. But it's the biggest game to you and probably your family and probably your loved one. than probably your community and their community. And guess what? We can show up and we can rally around something like that. One of the reasons why sports matter so much to people is because of the intense love and care and passion

that's put behind it, especially those rivalries. And when you get rid of those rivalries, I genuinely think that there will not be the same love and support for the game. That's one of the reasons why I think it needs to be such a part of the game. That, man, there are certain games and certain weekends that it's like, okay, Thanksgiving, we have a lot to be thankful for, and we better be thankful for beating Florida State.

Yep. Like, it's, I mean, you kind of judge your years based on this. Totally. Like, and when you take away how much that matters in these rivalries, then, yes, you still might have some of the other cool things to the game, but you won't have that same, like, die hard love for the team and the game because those make it so special. Right.

And that sparky is where I think we're in trouble against him at home. home in Jacksonville and the squad games tour. Yeah. You know, I mean, it just means more, dude. That's the family. That's the local fans. We're going to have to dig deep. We're not Florida State, by the way, nor do we support them.

We don't have to go that extra little level. One of my favorite games of yours was the, you had the pain all over you. It was pouring rain that Florida State game. You're just wearing it, eating it. That's fun. Oh, man. You miss it? I do sometimes.

I'm sure, obviously, you miss certain aspects of it. Like, end of the year, Thanksgiving, Christmas time, when the game's really do matter more. That's when it's like, or when the Heisman trophy ceremony goes up to New York and like, yeah, I remember those days. It's fun.

I remember those days too. EA college football. I've won a Heisman. Yeah, just won. You go to die this thing? We'll see, yeah. By the way, can I just say, I love that the game is back out?

Yeah, it's awesome. I'm so grateful. It's awesome. It's pretty much the only game that we played growing up at all. Sparky's deep, dude. And it's such. They took it away from us for so long, man.

I was chomping at the bit. I know. So you play a little bit, huh? I can't tell you that since we had Daphne was born or when Dimmie was pregnant that I've actually played. But before that, I did. I enjoy it. And it was honestly just one of the things like even my brothers or friends. Like, and dude, when we were in college, you'd be shocked of how much when the game would come out,

all the guys on the team would like run to whoever got it first and like check their ratings. And you know, it's so funny. Nobody really cared about what their overall rating was. Do you know what they cared about? Oh, I'm interested in this. Speed? Yes. They're like, no, I'm so much faster than that.

There's no way. You made me an 80. I'm so much faster than that. There's no chance. And somehow everybody always believes, including myself, that I'm faster than the rating was, you know? Yeah. That's so good. Oh, that's so good.

Spark, I want to know, what's your ball question for Tim? But can I just throw something out there? Yeah. Because playing with him together at Florida, do you know who was incredible at the game? incredible into heaven. Just straight of a gamer. In the game, like actually in real life, but then also in the game.

He was awesome at it. Spikes? I never played Spikes. I love Brandon. I just got to see him last week. What awesome. Cam Newton. Cam Newton.

Okay. Cam Newton was a gamer. I can totally see that. I can totally see that. I feel like he's one who chirping your ear too while he's putting it on you too. He's not, yeah. Oh yeah. Oh, yeah.

I love Cam. Tim, do you ever like, sit there and wonder? not that your value is built off monetary or anything like that, but man, you could have done some damage in the NIL area. Does that ever cross your mind? Honestly, I can be honest and say really never. I mean, people ask me. Yeah.

I think for a few reasons. One, you want to live in the present and be there, and I love the time I had, the teammates. I mean, I love those guys so much. And I also really believe it would have been a lot harder to have a team bond the way we did if that was the case. That's what I was going to say. Do you think y'all's squad gets broken up during that time if it's NIL?

Because it's the boom, boom, boom, everybody wants everybody. They're all a big deal. Y'all became. I would like to say hopefully not. But I. It would have been tough. It would have been tough. I think there would have been people that would have come in.

And one of special things was our 06 class that came in together. So many of us left together. And personally left the year before, as he should, because he was the first round pick. And he was one of the greatest players ever seen in my life. But then so many of them. us stayed and finished together, I think that would have been a lot harder with that. Not that each season has pros and cons, you know? And so I just want to like really reflect on that.

That was an awesome, like, yeah, we also had no money and anything. And we're like buying Honey Bunches votes, buy one, get one free to be able to eat. So yeah, it would have been nicer to be able to go to your restaurant. Sure. But at the same time, there was some huge blessings. I think one of them was just camaraderie. It was dang special. I mean, I just got to be with Coach Meyer and Spikes last week at a foundation event.

It was awesome. It was awesome. Like, we just like, you know, I think a lot of times what makes a team really special isn't that you put in the same jersey. I think so many times a lot of people have put in the same jersey, it doesn't make you the same team. I think what makes the same team is when you have shared suffering, shared vision, and you're willing to do that together, to go through a grind.

The suffering. And the suffering together. and there's something that happens. There's a bond that takes place where it's like, we went through that. We're really kind of the only ones that know what that's like. Yeah.

And now we have this vision and we're like, hey, we went through this. We're about to go through this. And there's an element of that in even youth sport because obviously what you're doing is at a much higher level,

higher stakes, watch, but I don't think people realize without being ever in a football locker room, even in high school, the connection, especially in a game of football's nature

predicated on violence. Sometimes high school is one of the greatest connections. I mean, it's awesome. It's just a different locker to your point, though, football. I think we had a really special at Florida, so that's special, but also the high school team. My Pop Warner teams, I mean, it's so special.

Like my high school team, I mean, it brings me tears talking about it. We were a high school team that when I started going there, we were literally a joke. Literally all the papers called us a joke. I went from a state champion to a team that was two and eight, hadn't been to the playoffs, on over 10 years, never want to stay champion.

And we had a high school football coach named Craig Howard, who is one of the most remarkable leaders and visionaries that I've ever been around. And he told us day one, it's literally our job to love you and it's your job to love one another. And we are going to play with character, strength, and honor. We are going to do what's right. We're going to do our best, and we're going to treat others

the way you want to be treated. And he said, every time we score, every single time we score, all of us are going to line up shoulder to shoulder on the sideline. We're going to hold up our right hand, and we're going to chant, Mo, Mo, Mo, Mo. Do you know why our hand is open? Because we're going to get a stop.

And most of the time, kick an onside kick. We're going to get the ball back and we're going to score within five minutes and we're going to keep the mo going to change. Mo, Mo. He's talking to him. A lot of kids and we weren't necessarily good. And he said, we're going to get the whole student body. And then we're going to get all the parents and all the fans that show up for the game. They're all going to do it.

And everybody's kind of like, real, really? And sure enough, one after the other, after the other. I mean, going to classes inviting kids. to come try out for the team, come be part of it. And by senior year, we won the first ever state championship. And I credit a lot of the coaches and a lot of the players, but the most credit goes to coach Craig Howard. I'm going to start Mo on NCAA when I get online, just so we can score.

Mo. Mo, Mo, Mo. We're going to do we want to end the squad games towards Park. And by the way, do you know what's crazy? Is so many of the teams, you know this. And this has been done in so many, I really think Alabama, when they were in their prime, they beat a lot of people before the ball was ever kicked off.

and because people saw that A, I think when we did some good things at Florida, I think people are like, oh, dang, we're going in the swamp. I think that when USC, when Pete Carroll was doing that, when Miami was doing that and South Florida, people are like, oh, we got to play the U. for those boys. Right, yeah.

And I think one of the things that when people saw that on our sidelines see at least 5,000 people because we had a lot of people turning out for games just on our sidelines. And when you see 5,000 people all together doing that, an opposing 16-year-old is like, what the heck is this? shaking in your boots a little bit.

I do think the brotherhood piece of that is unbelievable. And I saw some study recently that the Mavs, the year that they won the title, they gave each other more high fives and hugs than any team in the league. And like you see some of that Indiana football. It was with Dirk and all them? It was with Dirk and like Indiana football. Those guys seem,

they just seemed like they were having a ball. Like those were just. Comradary matters. That's a huge element of sport that I think we're losing. Something that y'all need to work on. Yeah. You know right there. Pride plus that up, huh?

Yeah. No, but it is. It's cool. Like you notice it. It's such a big part of sports. It jumps out. It's different, man. You can you have self-discipline to push yourself really hard and very far?

Yes. Can you get to the same place if you're not doing it for the love of someone else? I just don't know that I believe that. I believe that if you look at it from special forces, from seals, from Delta Force, from, most of them will tell you because they've told me, no, when you're doing it for your brother beside you, you will go to a farther length because the love of someone else is so much more impactful than just the love of self. And I feel like it's just a lost element with the kids nowadays is so predicated on individual success and stuff that we're losing the

team element. In fact, I'll go home sometimes and be like, man, I didn't shoot it enough today when we play pickup and stuff because I am adamant that like I want there to be flow. I, you know, I want to swing it. And I just feel like people are, you know, now nowadays you have the kids going home. I got three hits. But you know, we're just, you know, What else did you do to help your team win? Did you encourage your teammates? Did you maybe give them a device on what you saw from the mound? You know, just that element kind of feels like it's a...

When you're right, Spark, now, somebody's in your ear, and I imagine, in college from what I've been told, they're in your ear of, hey, you get yours, where can you go to this next place? And it's not... I can imagine it would be very easy to lose that team element. That's tough. That's tricky. And I think some of the good ones are still doing it really, really well.

Like, I know that. Some of the better ones aren't just doing NIL well. They're still doing team well. Yeah, and that's leadership. Yes, it is. You have such an advantage in the get-go with all the roster turnover that if you have that camarader

and you can build that quick. You've already thrown routes on air and all that. Different. It's different. It's different. It's the lost art. Dude, I got to know. I got to know what Tebow Mania felt like.

Dude, I was locked in. It was you and Lynn Sanity. They were like back to back. And as a viewer, a spectator, it was so special. Must watch television. Like, what did it feel like during that stretch? You know, it's hard for me.

me to probably even answer that honestly because I don't know that I probably had the same view as you for me. It was just like, you didn't. You didn't. I'm just trying to. I was on my couch. I'm just trying to make the team and then I'm trying to be the best I can be and sometimes it was okay. Sometimes it wasn't as good. And then we were fortunate to have a lot of wins and comeback wins. Oh, so good. And then just trying to go right from there. Put your head down. We get that win and you go right back the next week and you try to do it again. And so I mean, it was different. I mean, sometimes you'd think, oh, it's cool that prayer is being talked about. And then you're kind of like when all the T-bowing and stuff is going with it.

You're like, well, that's not really the reason I'm doing it. But it's, I don't know, it's probably hard to even, like, grasp that for myself. Because so much of my head was just down, just trying to be the best teammate, trying to improve, trying to be a better quarterback, figure it out. I don't know. Nobody really, like, kind of coaches you for that. I imagine they don't. Yeah.

So that's awesome. Well, it was fun. Yeah, that season of your life was fun for me to watch. And we were certainly, we were certainly cheering you on. That was awesome. This season of your life's fun for me to watch. That's right question.

Yeah, I feel like Kobe's watching experience is probably a little better, but switching it to a hard left here, not as hard left as his NIL question earlier, Kobe's. But college football, obviously, you, your LinkedIn profile in terms of college football, it's pretty good.

Best individual season. They're very different. They're different. They're not the same. That's valid. And I would have to throw, first one hits my brain would be Cam Newton. Next one would be Joe Burrow, both of them for sure. No, the last two.

I mean, obviously, I'm biased. Danny what he did at Florida. If you did career, he would probably be in that. Charlie Ward, even though he played for the wrong team, was remarkable. Tommy Frazier in 1995 and 94 was remarkable. I mean, he freaking came off of blood clots to win a national championship in 94.

Like 100 tackles in that title game. I still feel like he's breaking tackles right now. Marshawn Lynch. Like, it was unbelievable. You know what? I want to give him credit. I love for Hernando Mendoza. What he did this last year was remarkable.

Clearly, some of the best individual moments, no question. But what I was also going on is the finish of the season. No doubt. You have to. You have to be on that, to be where you're, what the question is asked. But Johnny, if you talk about some of the best moments, of course,

Johnny's historic moments, very memorable. Johnny is one of the most electrifying. Electric. Oh yeah. Just you have no idea what's going to happen. It's just. I always felt, in my opinion, only you and Johnny could have felt what the pressure. felt like I felt like the jump went from just wherever to just over the top. Complete mania for you two and the seasons y'all lived. It just felt different to me. Yeah, well, I mean, yeah, it did. I don't know who else he would have called for that feeling other than you, you know, is how I felt as a college station kid. I think probably when USC had it going, the pressure on Reggie and Matt Liner's probably pretty high too. That's true. That's true.

They, I mean, you think about it, they had back-to-back husband's trophy winners. They had Pete Carroll, Lancetton, Steve Sarkesian, and so many other coaches on their staff. Like, those teams that had were ridiculous. Floated. And Miami. And Miami. Like, we, sometimes we forget how good Miami was in like 2001, two. Oh, the agreed, Lewis McGahey Day.

He's like, yeah. That's a joke. So deep. A joke. It's ridiculous. Do you like your 07 team against anybody, though? I mean, I got to say that I believe in our team and my teammates, especially the way 08 ended that second half of the run,

I think that team was really tough, was really, I mean, it sounds silly kind of to say, but dang, we loved each other a lot. And it was, cool. It was like we wanted to go to really deep waters because we wanted to see how long people could swim. Like we loved it. We were like, come on you, like, no, we wanted it to get,

You don't mind to get a little dirty. No, it's going to get hard. We want it that way, though. And I can't remember some of the stats. I was told one time that the way we finished the second half of the season was one of the best differentiators in the fourth quarter. And I was like, man, that's pretty cool, like how we played in the fourth quarter. Because when the lactic acid gets a little too much for some, when the pressure gets too much,

when you start to flinch, we start to hesitate when all of a sudden, like I felt like that team with, you know, with Spikes and Percy and Coupe and the Pounceys and just Dunlap and all these guys, it was like, yeah, we had a gifted team. That was a tough team. And we were like, okay, fourth quarter, close, down, up, this is what we do. Like we wanted it to get to this place. And now we kind of welcomed that. And I think that's maybe my favorite thing about that team is.

The whale finished. Yeah, but we were like, nope, come on. We don't want to play in the, you know, the shallow end. We're going deep waters. How long do you want to swim? We'll piece together for a team drive if we have to. I love that, Tim. It was just a tough team.

It was maybe not always the most polished, maybe not even always the most gifted, although we were very gifted. But it was like, all right, let's go. Let's ride. Yeah. And then that probably came with bumps and bruises, camp fights, all the, you know, just stuff that gets,

because I see it here every day. It's a couple. I've seen them take on an extreme workload. I've seen disagreements happen. Some, you know, bigger than others. but at the end of the day, the ability to realize... He can be made us closer. You're in it together.

Yes. And I think the accountability aspect of it at the end of the day is what really... And the only way to get out is together. Right. As a crew. Yes. Pulling the rope the same direction. Yes.

Yeah, fair. I dig it.

I'm with you, though, on Cut and Portal. Good call there. College football stadiums. Cut one, bench one, start one. Rose Bowl, Kyle Field, Tiger Stadium. Which Tiger Stadium? That's a good question. Let's go with LSU.

Dang it. That's the one I was definitely doing this. See, I love the Rose Bowl. I love Kyle Field. I know that it's personally, I also. love it. I think it's awesome. We were there for the playoffs this year. Miami came to town and they showed up. It's awesome place. And Tiger Stadium, I have to be honest, it's, I can't stand them, but it's one of the coolest. It's one of the coolest stadiums with the fan base,

especially at night. It's a joke. Like, it is a flat out joke. I got to experience that. Have you Spark? Have you been at night? I actually have. I've heard it's amazing. Yeah, I did. It was pretty crazy. Let's just say the offense. I can't get around the question. The Rose Bowl is iconic. Yeah. So, dang it. I'm biased, so that should be known. Out of tradition, the Rose Bowl's the best. Yeah, out of just mass, Kyle Field,

and out of just craziness, Tiger Stadium. But if I have to go start one, I'll go Tiger Stadium because it was one of my favorite places to play. I will bench the Rose Bowl. Kyle Field, I love you. And that argument. That's a tough three. That's a tough three.

Sorry, guys. Sorry to all the A&M fans. your conviction. That was a good answer. Next up, college football traditions. Rushing the field after a victory, marching bands, school fight songs. So I think we need to make, I think rushing the field is awesome,

but I think there needs to be some safety. Totally. Totally. There's some crazy stuff that takes place. Shoot. I don't mind cutting that one. I love marching bands too. They make the, shoot.

You're cutting the band. School fight songs. So I love tradition. I love pageantry. So I'm going to go marching bands. I'm going to go with start school fight songs. I'm going to go with bench and rushing the field. I'll cut.

Cut, yeah. It is tough. It's hard, man. I do worry about the rushing the field aspect when it comes to some of these kids who are highly emotional, fresh off. I don't know. I did that. I probably put that because it feels safest. Correct.

Yeah, I'm with you. I feel that. You would have lost all the tube of players in the whole country, too, if you cut the marching. band. Yeah, but I'm a biased. I loved our band. I loved it. I loved them.

I loved it when we were rocking. I love when we'd be in Death Valley and you would hear our band. Like, let's freaking go. Like, strike it up. Everyone's going to hear us play all the time. Like, we'll go to a freaking Rocky Top and play Tennessee. And I would sing their fight song to them all the time. I wouldn't necessarily talk trash, but I would be singing there.

Like, you can't sing our fight song. I just did. Yeah. Rocky Top, you'll always be second in the SEC. Let's go. Come on. Fresh off Rocky. Oh, does he miss it?

That's what you asked earlier, Spark. Does he miss it? I think so. Oh, man. Safe to say, let's move to college football rivalries. Texas, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Ohio, Auburn, Bama. Why did y'all do this to me? This is brutal.

This is so frustrating. Well, I'll be honest, I love it. I'm so glad it's back, but I'll say Texas, Texas A&M is going to get cut. Oh, no. They already cut it. Like, you just brought it back. Dang, Ohio State, Michigan. It's rowdy.

Auburn, Alabama is how do you possibly? Listen, I'm going to show my biased. I'll go, I'll start Auburn, Alabama, and I'll bench Ohio State,

Michigan and cut Texas A&M. But that's a good one. And I could easily switch one and two because Ohio State, Michigan is incredible. It's a big boy match.

Have you been on one of those lives? No. But I've been to it, and it's awesome. I've also. I've also been to, I don't know, 10 or more Auburn Alabama games, and it's just different. I mean, you have husband and wife that are like, we're not talking today. It's hardcore.

Like, just earlier today was with a couple that fights over it every week. Every week is wild. They literally fight over it. And their kids went to opposite schools. Literally today. House divided. Here in Texas. And I was like, wait a second.

How did y'all deal with that? As parents, like, yeah. Nobody objected at the wedding. That's kind of crazy. A&M needs to win a natty. We need to win a recent nati to push this up. So I agree. I'm okay with you. So I'm saying, I'm okay with your answer.

We got to win a natty. Starting quarterbacks, 26, starting quarterbacks, Arch Manning, Dante Moore, Julianne, and you don't have to. You could just say nice things about each three if you want to. I think Arch is ready for an awesome season. I agree. I think he's handled everything so well.

He's had a silly amount of pressure. Yep. No doubt. I don't think was always, I don't think it was fair. and I love the way he's handled a lot of things. I mean, I really genuinely do. I'm not saying that to be nice. I feel like he's handled so much pressure.

And he's handled it well. He's handled with grace. He's handled criticism with grace. I think his family has done that really well. So I just, I don't know. I'm going to say him just because I'm kind of proud of him. Yeah. Like, that's a crit.

You're 18 and you come in with that spotlight. And I was like, dang. Like everyone's yours. You've never started a game, but you should be the best. player in the world. Like, really? Like, since when in college have we ever done this? Like, I guess some people did it with LeBron coming out of high school, but like, that's a lot to put on a kid. I think he's handled it well. So I'm just proud of him. So I'll go with him. I also

thank Dante Moore and Julian Sand's sling it so well. Like, they are really good. I think it would be impressive to see Dante Moore come back this year because he's so talented, but he didn't necessarily have that much experience. So to play that well with little experience. going to be interesting. And Julian came in as, you know, a transfer from Alabama and is so accurate. I mean, honestly, out of most of the quarterbacks in the country, I would say Julian probably has the cleanest throwing motion. Okay. Out of almost everyone in the country. Just those gorgeous football. Just the purest ball. Not like I did. He is so gifted in that. So it's a great it's a good threesome right there

some good quarterback. This next one I'm ready for. It's just credible how polished they are to your point. You're not like somebody's kids. You're all friends of mine. We can't do this, too. Nick Saban, Kurt Herndtree and Pat McAfee. This one's going to be a tough one, Tim.

College game analyst, we need to know. Yeah, we'll break it down. Nick Sabin, greatest coach of all time. Here he goes. The goat of college football analyst and Pat McAfee has like become the goat of his unique flavor, which is awesome.

Mm-hmm. I love this show. Like you guys, it is so good. But it's phenomenal. You can't ask me to talk. Well, you could. We could ask you. I mean, you did.

You know, like we could. We went there. Yeah. Is it as fun as it looks? It just, that feels like a brotherhood to me. It looks really fun. Well, I think we love what you get to do. And I think, you know, so much about it is a love for the game, love for people.

And I think all three, like you talk about those three, I think they love the game. so much that it just oozes out of them. Yeah. That's special. Yeah. Yeah. We haven't gotten to know Nick.

We've gotten to know Kirk and Pat some over the years and I've really enjoyed our time with both of those guys, both so impressive in their own different ways. I think they do a really, really great job of making very personal to them, but also it's not like their, I mean, Kirk studies so much and he cares so much about it. And, you know, Pat is, you know, does all the WWE and F and now everything else and TV. but like I think he's really got a love for the game and a love for the players and I really think three of them do a remarkable job remarkable I do love the clip with you fine bomb Marty with the sides leave the sides man makes me life every time it's an unskippled video every time I say it I was like I got to wait for the punchline we were losing it until you were losing it commercial break and I was like oh my gosh like I have to go because I'm about to pee my pants it's so ridiculous we were laughing so hard

Fine, Bomb did well in handling that too. He's a trooper, man. He loves him some SEC football too. There's no doubt. Last one, Tim, typical college student food, probably the most important one yet. Ramen, pizza, P, B, and J. Wow. I think I have to go start pizza? Yeah, it's a good call. Sure. Really good. And then I'm going to go bench P&J and I'm cutting ramen. I'm with you. Yeah. A lot of sodium. A lot of sodium in that ramen. You mentioned the competitive, you know, obviously competitive spirit, competitive soul. I don't think that's any new news to anybody else. How do you check that box still at this point in your life? That's a good question. I think first and foremost is just I'm blessed now to compete for something so much more important than a game.

And that's ultimately what we get to do every day in serving the most vulnerable people. And I spent way too much in my life chasing a less important MVP of most valuable player. And now I get to chase after the most vulnerable people and ultimately try to bring faith, hope and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour. of need. And I think that's what's cool about you, Tim, is the unashamed aspect. And actually, I was recently talking to you, Kobe, about Forrest Frank and where he, like, let's be honest, it's tough to make Christian music cool, you know. And he has done that. And you have done that, my friend, where with the eye black and all that, it inspires other to pick up, you know. Well, thank you. And, you know, sometimes along the way, you have no idea what you're really trying

to do. You're just, if you get a little moment or an opportunity, and I, I had no idea what God was going to do with that. I just thought, maybe I take off my helmet some with binoculars. You'll see some eye black. But ultimately, what God did with it was so incredible, but also what I love most is it's a total God story, not a Timmy story. Yeah. It was God showing out in my weaknesses and pride and arrogance and all these other things when God's like, look what I can do. And that's the God that we serve. He's the director. You're the main actor. It works well together, dude. Obviously, he talked about leadership, the self-motivation aspect. Kids nowadays, for the kids out there who are trying to tackle sports, school, all encompassing life things, what would be your advice when it

comes to sport and how to handle the different things that come with just sport? And obviously, So you played a little baseball too. Where are you saying on the sports specific? Yeah, that's a good question. First, probably start out by saying, I think it's one of the dumbest things that we tell kids, that you can be anything that you want to be. I don't know why we do it.

I think there's a piece of it that we want to be encouraging, but we're ultimately setting kids up to fail. I really believe that it's not the right approach because, you know what, Johnny, who's 12 and can't dribble, ain't going to be LeBron James. mom doesn't want to hear that. Tyler loves this take.

He's going to be so sad. He's not here for this exact conversation. He is so with you. But I really believe that it's true. Ultimately, what we should tell kids is that you can be whatever you want to be. It's that you have the chance to be all that God created you to be. And you shouldn't focus necessarily

on trying to be the best in something, but every single one of us can encourage the next generation that all of you can be your best and whatever it is that you put your mind to. And ultimately, isn't that what we should be driving for is to be our best emotionally, spiritually, physically, and whatever game or competition, like you have the chance to be it. You have the chance to be. I have the chance to be it. And ultimately, that should, what you should be encouraging kids. And if your best is to make it in the

NFL and if your best is to make it in the NBA and my best is that, you know, I barely made the team in high school, that's okay. You're right. Like, will my five-year-old be an Olympic gymnast one day when she's in her little gymnastics class right now? I have no idea. Maybe. But depending on what we see from her, it would be the right thing for me to do as a parent to encourage her in what we see God building into her life and not trying to give her a pipe dream that she would have that level of expectation. And it's not to not encourage kids to strive after their dream, but it's more to be specific of you get to strive after your dream and be the best you can be. And if that leads you to being the best all time, awesome. But if it's not, that's okay. That's not the requirement. The goal is for you

to be your best. Yeah. And if you're, that makes you the best, awesome. But if you, if you're, aren't necessarily the best in something, you could still say, man, I gave it everything. I truly gave it everything that I had and trying to be my best in something. And I think so many times in our society, we're so afraid of failure. But what's more important is that we should be terrified of regret. Oh, I love that. Because we're so afraid of failure that we don't even try. But ultimately, what does that lead to regret? Because I didn't even have the courage to go try and we've actually framed failures like one of the worst things. When if you ask most of the best that I've ever played with against or in friends with around the world or the best in what

they do in sports or business or pastors, so many of them have failed and failed and failed. But they're not a failure because I really believe that when you, especially in sports, you and you play, you either win or you learn. Yeah. And sometimes you get to do both. But a lot of the greatest learning lessons, pruning lessons, discipling lessons actually come after a loss. Yes. And that doesn't mean you're a failure. It gives you a learning opportunity.

And will we really take that learning opportunity? It's hard to do it because one, emotions get in the way and our pride gets in the way. And our pride sits at the door and says, no, you can't enter. When actually I really believe it's when God's done the most work in me when setbacks, disappointments have showed up.

Sure. Just like Sanlott. Get dirty. You know, maybe scratch up your knee every once in a while. Jump in the pool with the boys. Go play. Go maximize it. You know, if you're, if you're doing summer workouts, do them to the best of your ability. Come into the season prepared because that's really where championships are won. Tim would tell you that. So yeah, just maximize your summer because one day you wake up your 35, your balding, and it's, it's tough to get up on the summer day.

You're thinking back on point. You're like, Nick Combs, dude. I feel like Kenny Chesney wrote a song about that. It's called Don't blink. Don't blink. That's a good one.
