Starting point is 00:00:00 So people can get to know you better. We're going to give you two options and you make one of them disappear. Just gone. Gone forever. Kobe or Corey. Wow. Wow. Wow.
Starting point is 00:00:13 We're going to delete. Welcome to Almost Athletes with Dude Perfect, A Wave Original. Fall the show on all social media at Almost Athletes. Like and subscribe to us on YouTube or listen and subscribe wherever you get your podcast. We're your host. I'm Garrett. Sparky. Hey, before we start, it's good to be back.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Almost lost my eye last week. Yeah, you did, man. You're about to be one-eyed Willie up in here. Yeah, you don't realize how important two eyes are until you only have one. Well, not only that, but like, dude, when you scratch your cornea, it's like, legit painful. Yeah, I'm just going to trust you on that one. I've never scratched my corn, but if I did, I imagine it comes with a lot of pain in an ER visit. So the deal, the reason why I will.
Starting point is 00:01:09 went and missed last week wasn't because like I had to go to the emergency room. It was basically because like I was up at 2 a.m. and it was in so much pain like I was going legit crazy. Like I was going crazy. Like I couldn't sleep. I tried to take some sleeping meds. And so I was just like I googled like urgent care for eye doctor. Yeah, I watched it out for that.
Starting point is 00:01:32 And it was like just go to the ER. Oh, WebMD's telling you're never going to see again. Yeah. And it was just like, you know, uh, I even think the nurses were kind of laughing at me. I know the internet did, but you do you, man. Nurses were judging a little bit. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:47 They were like, you're here for what? I was like, dude, I can't, my eye. Like, it hurts, painful. And so I was up all night. We were filmed the podcast at 9 a.m. sharp. I text, I text Sparky and Jared. And I was like, dude, I'm not coming in, man. Yeah, that picture was pretty brutal.
Starting point is 00:02:04 But it's feeling better. I can see all as well. Well, if it means anything. I like you more of two eyes, Gary. I'm glad you're back. Actually, I like you more with four. When you wear your glasses, I feel even better. I'm already bald, dude.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Don't take away an eye. I mean, that's just brutal on the face up here. No hair and no eye. I'll give you this. Don't let this boost your confidence too much. When you wear glasses. I look smart. Yo, dude, you give a 4.2 Ivy League type brown.
Starting point is 00:02:30 I'll let you guys know that a little self-promotion, little bragging. I feel like I'm very smart. Actually, I know I'm very smart. Wow. But it's besides the point. We're talking, dude, we're here to talk sports. Yeah, we are.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Yeah, and coming up today, we've got a fun episode. March Madness is almost here. We're going to talk brackets before they ever get busted with Kelsey. She's back in the lab. We're going to talk about all the latest NFL free agency news. And later, Cody Jones is going to join us to listen to voicemails. But first, creator and illusionist Zach King is here, and he's going to tell us all about the things he wants to make disappear.
Starting point is 00:03:03 This one is one of your most requested guest in the comments. So we're not going to make you wait. Let's get into it, Zach King and the boys, right here right now on almost athletes. Our guest today is basically the wizard of the internet when it comes to visual illusions, with over 80 million followers on TikTok, more than 40 million subs on YouTube, and billions upon billions of views across platforms. He's built a global audience by bending reality in ways that looks impossible. A former Vine superstar who has won multiple streaming awards,
Starting point is 00:03:31 he's been bending reality on the internet for over a decade, and we're happy to call him a friend. you may know him as the king of digital magic. Give it up for Zach King. Yeah, baby. What an intro. We try and do good intros here. Streamy awards.
Starting point is 00:03:45 What's that? Streaming awards. That's awesome. I know. Better question. You miss fun? Oh, man. I do miss Vine's for the days.
Starting point is 00:03:53 It was fun because, like, who doesn't love six seconds? Honestly, I don't even know if your audience now knows what Vineyard. I heard it's back. Oh, it is. They're trying. It's like, it's like a coming. So there's the rumor on the street is that it's going to be called Divine.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Yep. And no AI is allowed, which is great because I'm still not using AI on my videos editing. And I think the premise is that it would be like the original six seconds. Right. Perfect loop. But one of the things I loved about Vine 2 was like back in the day you couldn't upload. It was just filming in camera. And I thought that made for some really funny humor.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Yep. And when we be filming with all the Vine stars, like King, Batch, Logan, everybody, they'd be filming these videos that would like, say they shoot in Palm Springs, they'd shoot the first half. go drive four hours back to LA and then shoot the next bit and then go drive two hours somewhere else. If their camera failed or their phone turned off, they'd lose it. You'd lose it and you had to start over. Like there was a magic to that whole process of shooting in the app. But for me, my hack was like learning how to hack it.
Starting point is 00:04:55 And I would upload my videos obviously because they were edited. And that was like people would watch and be like, wait, how is he doing this in the app? And I think that's what like led to part of the feeling of magic. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Bending reality. It's coming back.
Starting point is 00:05:09 I'm not on those streets. I've heard that rumor for like seven years. Yeah, I feel like that's been an ongoing rumor for the better part of a decade now. It's like Vine's coming back. I think he's picking up steam. I hope so. When Elon bought Twitter, I thought for sure, like, oh, he's going to go and do the back rooms and pull out Vine. Not yet.
Starting point is 00:05:26 This isn't our first rodeo, Zach. You joined the crew for a little optical illusion trick shots. We're going to play a little bit of that in-house here. I think back on some fond memories or maybe not so far. This was five years ago, 30 million. One of my favorite videos. Was this 2021 or 2020? 2021.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Yep, 2021. I think we're kind of... Oh, a classic, not in the TV, really on... This is HQ 2. On the court. That's one of the best past as you ever made. Well, you know. What a news?
Starting point is 00:05:53 Got to drop a dime. That was. Time with the flush. I mean, you'd expect that out of hell. You guys. The only thing I wish we did on that is had the panda at the very end come alive. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:04 Would have been a fun little goosh. Missed opportunity. I mean, he still just critiqued. He can't be satisfied with it. Yeah. You can go back and edit it. Yeah, good. Just the same video?
Starting point is 00:06:13 Yeah. That was like Lewisville? Oh, yeah. This video took forever to set up. I remember this day. Yes. Because it's so, when you do perspective tricks,
Starting point is 00:06:21 it's so precise. And those props even have to be the right scale and the right distance from camera. But once you get it, it looks cool. That one. I remember this one.
Starting point is 00:06:30 Oh yeah, this was at your place. Okay, this jump, I think that you're about to do was, uh, 30 feet. Yeah, it was a good quality.
Starting point is 00:06:38 It's a good quality fall. So fun. We got to do another one of these. Dude, I hate heights. I hate heights. I remember we were back behind your DP2 doing the test for that, jumping on to the whatever the stunt guys call that.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Yeah. I remember the scissor lift back there. Yeah. Oh. Oh, yeah. When we climbed up on that. That scaffolding. That was a far jump.
Starting point is 00:07:02 I think the fire department came out for that for some reason. I think they drove by and they were like way. That's what it was. Oh, the duster. dots. Creative. This one. Was that it
Starting point is 00:07:14 into the phone pit? I don't know if it actually made the video. That's how we were like jumping into the office switch, right? Yeah,
Starting point is 00:07:21 that was a good one. I'm trying to remember Ty and Zach, y'all will have a better memory on this than me. How did we, how did we plan this video? This video took like six months.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Was it like most, I'm trying to remember was it mostly your team that planned? Yeah, I think we shot and set up at my studio. You guys came out to L.A. for a day.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Yep. Because we do that transition there. That was a big jump. That was a long way down. And then I think we came back to Texas or did Texas first. I can't remember. And you guys set up a bunch? This was super fun video. The spinning room though is the thing I remember the most.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Oh, classic Ames Room. If you ever seen this, it's in real life, it looks like a wonky, five-shaped kind of weird wall room. Hard to describe, but you don't really see it there, but it allows you to be small in the back and big in the front. I want to see the spinning room. Oh yeah, this is so fun, dude.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Oh, yeah, the coolest part of this video is the rotating room. Yeah, the rotating room. The Inception Room. I can't remember how many shots it took you tie in it, but you got it relatively quick because you're like, this is either going to be an all-day, eight-hour thing. Yeah. I want to say you got it in like 10, 10 or 15 tries.
Starting point is 00:08:30 It wasn't too long. No, too long. But you start to get, did you get sick in that room? I don't really get motion sickness or anything. Oh, thankfully. Super C. So what you're seeing here is like, it doesn't look like there's any movement,
Starting point is 00:08:41 but gravity's changing because we have the camera fixed to a specific point on the set. But this is rotating. And actually, it's like really... So tricky. It's actually like hard to see what's happening. You know what would do really well nowadays is stitching a duet of the behind the scenes
Starting point is 00:09:01 of what's really happening? That would be cool. This was at Zach's studio in L.A. I remember thinking, he has a rotating room? doesn't everybody? Yeah. You already had that there.
Starting point is 00:09:12 You didn't build that for this. No, we had the rotating room. Yeah, we still have that. These side by sides do so well. I'm telling you, post this on social. Okay. I forgot that we showed some of this. Oh, the mirror room. That's a cool one too.
Starting point is 00:09:25 It helps when you have a twin. I was going to say, that's a perk. I remember the beach one though, Zach. I'm going to be honest with you, that beach one with Cody and volleyball, I remember thinking in my head like this guy is off his rocker with this doesn't make any sense.
Starting point is 00:09:39 It was just above my pay grade. Well, all of these tricks are like, it doesn't make sense until you have it lined up in camera perfectly. It just looks bad until that point, or it needs to be edited. That's a cool, practical mirror. I remember it was important to us and you that, like, there was an actual payoff,
Starting point is 00:09:56 that it wasn't just a cool moment, but that it went in somehow. The painting stuff is always so trippy. What was the inspiration ever getting into obstacle illusions? My grandpa got me into magic when I was in elementary school. I was from Portland, Oregon, and we'd travel around on the weekends and go to these magic conventions. Okay. It was super nerdy, but you'd basically go there, watch people perform tricks.
Starting point is 00:10:19 You'd choose to buy a trick, and they were really expensive. It was like 50 bucks a trick because you're buying their box of whatever they built, but also like the seat. You're buying the trade secret. Yeah. And then you'd go perform them and make a magician's oath with them that you'd never share how they did their trick. and I did that all growing up and then later I fell in love a film
Starting point is 00:10:39 and when I went to film school Vine was coming out and I was like oh well what's something I can do in six seconds and it kind of came like I hadn't done magic in years at that point and I was like oh well I always love tricks like what if I do these quick like
Starting point is 00:10:53 little magic infused filmmaking things so that was kind of the origin story for how that came to be when was your first YouTube video 2008 Wow. We were 09. January, January,
Starting point is 00:11:07 08 is when I made my channel. Yeah. We were April of 09. Okay. Was our first backyard video. Tyler skated off the roof on our YouTube channel before that. And back then, that probably did numbers.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Yeah. Still good today. Those little 10 second clips. Yeah. Yeah. That was funny how YouTube evolved. Like back in the day was about like 10 second shorts. Short of the better.
Starting point is 00:11:30 And now the longer than better. It's just gotten to long form here. but man, yeah, you wouldn't have known my channel back in 2008, though. No, Final Cut, Final Cut King? Yeah, but it was small. It was like maybe 200,000 subscribers for the first four years. I actually did know your channel back then, because Corey was doing all the editing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:48 And so we would watch your stuff. No way. Yeah, and learn because we were on Corey. I want to give him most of credit. Ty actually edited a video or two. I edited like three or four, but Corey edited all of them. And I remember we would watch your stuff and try to learn. And then we gave up on any of the hard stuff.
Starting point is 00:12:04 So you guys were doing Final Cup Pro in the beginning? Yeah. Nice. Yeah. We were Final Cup pro early. This was like mystery guitar man days. Like this was early. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Joe Penna. Freddie Wong. Yep. Epic Mealtime. Yeah. General Marbles. Yes. And Corey name drops you quite a bit in the best of ways.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Yeah. Corey is a Zach King super fan. That's awesome. You could safely classify. Yeah. I mean, I forget about the tutorial days, but a lot of people do come up to me. They're like, dude, when I was 11, I watched your tutorials. That's funny.
Starting point is 00:12:30 I want to think back on that. That's a lifetime ago. Yeah, YouTube sent us that. I just didn't realize how early on we were. Like, YouTube was, they just sent us the 20th anniversary thing and we'll hit 17 years in April. So, I mean, you were, the platform was two years old
Starting point is 00:12:46 when you started putting stuff up. Yeah. Like, that's crazy. That it was still so, yeah. Do you remember the first video, the title, and what it was? The first video that I made was a tutorial for the Pleasantville effect. The Pleasantville effect is a famous effect that goes back in filmmaking, but the one you might have seen is in Schindler's list.
Starting point is 00:13:07 There's a little girl carrying a red balloon and she's wearing a red dress, and everything else in the shot is black and white. So the Pleasantville effect is one that I would teach. And it was actually really cool back in the day when you saw it. You're like, how are they doing this? Now, you know, all these VFX aren't that visually interesting because AI can do it. The effects are so easy. You can just color drop that now. but back in the day it took a few like an hour to figure that out wow and so i was teaching that and
Starting point is 00:13:34 a bunch of other uh how many views we we have on this bad boy yeah what is this what's the view count 154,000 that's actually i'm not gonna lie that's a lot for a pleasantville effect that's my sister 17 years ago and that's all my family was the the like example footage in my tutorials i put my sister in a raft in the middle of this massive lake in Canada we had just adopted her from china it was so bad put her out on this little homemade raft. She's like, what am I doing? And this is before Zach has made it.
Starting point is 00:14:05 So it's really like, what are going on? She looks like a depression. Trust me, child up there for the short film I was making about this homeless kid that was coming to America. Anyways, we don't need to revisit what the stock list was about. Wait, why did you not, because this was your first channel. So why didn't you just change the name and going, or did you have two channels and you rolled with the second one?
Starting point is 00:14:26 My theory back in the day. So this is like, what, 10 years? ago that I switched over that, I was like, oh, well, they see all this editing on an editing channel. They're going to, I'm going to get all the comments saying, like, this is editing, not magic. And a lot of the actual audience from Vine called it magic. I don't know. I think they thought it was magic, but they called it it.
Starting point is 00:14:47 And just it was like a branding thing. Yeah. And I was like, I don't know, a lot of these editors are going to call it out and hate it. And, uh, probably, probably good instincts. They're hard to argue with what you did. Yeah. Cool. pivoting here.
Starting point is 00:14:59 You were with the boys last year on tour. Oh, that was a good time. That was fun. A birdie in my ear has told me you may be back this summer. Yes. Looking forward to that. I'm stoked to come back because squad games. Squad games, a little different than cool, not cool, this time around. There might be some pregame stretching.
Starting point is 00:15:16 Here's what I understand about it. Yeah, tell me what you think you're signing up for. And there's going to be five other creators on a squad team. And we're going to battle. Yep. And there's eliminations, I'm assuming. and potentially anyone can win.
Starting point is 00:15:30 Yeah. Oh, yeah. We're going to do it in the air. Cool. Yeah. I've never been this excited going into a tour. We've been doing a bunch of the testing and stuff in the office
Starting point is 00:15:39 for the different battles that we're going to be doing and everyone that we go through, I'm like, this is going to be the best one. And then we go to the next one, I'm like, Adam's one's going to be the best. That's awesome. Yeah. It's going to be a ton of fun.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Yeah, really fun because it's a complete pivot from what we have been doing on tour. So it's a new venture for us. We even talk to some like physical therapy. workout people to make sure we're ready to go. You might want to start training. You might want to start training. I was telling the boys, we're basically going to be kind of professional athletes on the road,
Starting point is 00:16:04 22 shows over the course of what a month plus. Yeah. So it's either, you know, it's gonna be fun. You don't wanna pull a muscle there on tour. That'd be the worst. You're gonna be a blast. Do we know what dates? Do we know what dates?
Starting point is 00:16:15 No, not yet. Okay. It's a secret. You have to come. Yeah, it's a top secret reveal. You're just there or you're not. Comment below. So you might want to get tickets to multiple cities.
Starting point is 00:16:25 He magically appears. Are you the team captain for your team? Did I have no idea? You get the same or just? Well, I mean, somebody's got to be the captain. That's true. It's kind of an alpha thing. I hate picking players, though.
Starting point is 00:16:34 Does that mean you're going to go like? No, you don't have to pick. Well, I mean, you can select, I guess. If you've got, I mean, you know, you might want to bring some guys that you're comfortable with performing. Okay. Well, I was thinking just athletes. Okay. That works too.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Maybe a short-lived series. I mean, it's best a seven series. So you could theoretically win it in four games. And send everybody home early. Yeah. Tell the people of Hershey, Pennsylvania. Sorry about the sweet. Let's do that.
Starting point is 00:16:56 That was a little early tonight. Get to go to bed a little bit earlier tonight. Zach brought the big guns. That'll be really fun. So, dude, you're a father? I'm a dad. You're a dad. How's the dad life?
Starting point is 00:17:07 Well, let me say this before you answer that question. Zach brought, to my knowledge, the youngest baby that's ever come to tour. Oh, yeah. When y'all came, y'all had just. Yeah. I'm talking, in my memory, it was weeks. Like, it was like three weeks. It felt like days.
Starting point is 00:17:25 I think it was. Your wife brought your baby. I was like, felt borderline your response. I was like, what is the youngest child? It wasn't even expired yet? It wasn't even expired yet. Why did I do that? Why did we do that?
Starting point is 00:17:36 Just remind me, how many kids do you guys are now? We have four kids. That was our fourth. This felt like a fourth. This was like, uh, we've been through this. Yeah, we're good. My kids, it's funny because we've known each other for so long. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:48 But now we all have kids and my kids are, the oldest is like nine. So they're in that like sweet pocket where they love you guys. Oh, yeah. And when I was like, it would be messed up of me to go to tour and not bring them for the level of fans that they are. Like, we threw it, dude, perfect birthday, I want to say for Liam two years ago or something.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Yeah, so nice. And so when we came out, yeah, we had just had our newest, and I think he was like three weeks. Dude, it was, I remember me like, he was there with the headphones backstage because he was so loud. Yeah. And it was a good time.
Starting point is 00:18:21 It is fun at that age too. It is the age. middle was like, dad, you were in the green room with us. And he's like, that's Zach King. And I'm like, I didn't even know you knew who Zach was. And so he came up and got to pick with you. Who are you watching on YouTube? Yeah. We got to be watching. My other memory, if I'm remembering correctly, is you fell asleep backstage. I could sleep anywhere. You dude, Zach power nap. So this is a setup backstage, right? It's, I mean, it is chaos. We have a green room for, we have multiple green rooms for the families. Not as glamorous as you might expect. Have our kids out with us as well. And I'm talking like, it's like a nursery.
Starting point is 00:18:53 Like, it's wild. It's a zoo. And I turned the corner, and I'm mostly impressed at how young your newest kid is, and that you and your wife actually did that. I turned the corner, and Zach is passed out in the midst of the chaos in this green room. And I looked at your wife, and I was like, is this? Is he good at this? And she was like, elite.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Oh, she's a superpower. She hates it. Because it's impressive. I leave her with the four kids going wild, and I can nap anytime, anywhere, any airplane. It was impressive. I was impressed. I'm envious. Cody's our best.
Starting point is 00:19:26 Like, Cody can ball sleep on an airplane. He goes here and he's done. Garrett can too. Or at least Garrett can go from like mid-conversation to out on a plane that quick. And I get so envious because I'm the type of guy it has to be 65 to 68 in that threshold with a fan in my face.
Starting point is 00:19:39 The stars have to align for me to pass out. Okay, so I don't know if it's a good thing because Freddie Wong was telling me about this. We have the same thing. And he was saying it's a medical thing where because we did so many late nights doing editing for YouTube. Like, because in college,
Starting point is 00:19:54 I would do three to four a week, and it was all nighters. And then go to school and then, you know, not sleep, so you're up for 24 plus hours. But he said there's a term and it's tied to that. It changes your sleep in it,
Starting point is 00:20:05 like you can't come back. Forever? But one of the side effects is you can fall, which sounds good, but it doesn't come from a healthy place is you can fall asleep at any time. Like Casey Nice, that has it.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Really? And you've just literally, like, been traveling with him anywhere. Like head goes down. Your mind's like, I need to sleep. I don't know what I'm getting sleep again. I mean, hard to argue with the three of y'all from like that, that tracks.
Starting point is 00:20:25 But yeah, I'll look up the term. It's not, I don't think it's a good thing. No. But now as a parent, it's a great thing. Yeah. Yeah, it definitely comes in handy. I remember we filmed with Freddie. I mean, this had to be 12 years ago.
Starting point is 00:20:39 It was a TV show days. Yeah. At Fantasy Factory with Rob. No way. And we were super hesitant to do the video because obviously all of his stuff. Editing. His editing. And like we, it's still very early on to where,
Starting point is 00:20:51 like athletes and stuff would come on and be like, no, that dude perfect stuff's not real. And like we were still very, very sensitive to that. And it bothered us when people would say stuff was fake. And so we ended up, we were like, okay, well, if it's going to be on Freddy's channel, like surely people will know that it's supposed to be edited. And it's like that type of video. So we go to the fantasy factory with him and Rob and Big and everybody was there. And I remember like the shots that he would have us do.
Starting point is 00:21:17 It was such a shift mentally because he's like, okay. just shoot this bow and arrow shot and I'm like okay where's the arrow and he's like oh you don't need an arrow and I'm like wait what and he's like just aim it kind of that way and I'm like okay and I just pull it back shoot no arrow he's like perfect all right moving on and we're like what is what is happening we're happy I don't think I've ever seen this video it was insane it was we were done in 20 minutes and did it did the VFX I mean it's phenomenal and this is so early was you remember the title like what's the premise. I literally haven't seen
Starting point is 00:21:53 this in over a decade. I have never seen this. How long ago? Eleven years ago. This was chunky tie too. How you know it's fake. This is right guard tie. He double swished it. This is Rob Studio.
Starting point is 00:22:08 Look at this beard by T-tone. You know what? Oh, look at my long short. Is this a oneer? This is a one shot. Yes, I do remember this. The no look through the apple with no actual arrow. I remember frame by framing this one.
Starting point is 00:22:26 Yeah, so did the audience after this, like, what was the reaction to the editing? They were confused. Were they like we knew it? This didn't do us any favors from the, all of the trick shots are real. Is that Garrett? Chunky Garrett.
Starting point is 00:22:40 We've been through some phases. You talk about a glow up. The Gary glow up was one that was needed. Oh, yeah, the no look. Three dart popper. Okay, I'm trying to think how you guys would have done this. you're chucking, you definitely had darts in your hand where they...
Starting point is 00:22:57 They were real dolls. We really threw them at the board. It said bloopers. Yeah, he launched that one. Dude, the original fantasy factor is... Tough look. What's crazy?
Starting point is 00:23:12 Look at that. How long is that video? Like a minute 40? A minute 48. Including the blooper. Dude, back then, videos could... And it got... How many views is that?
Starting point is 00:23:20 11 mil. 11 mil? Yeah. Probably got it opening weekend. How long is our real-life trick shots Oh, that's the second one. They're normally three or four minutes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Can you stop thinking Fred do things? Sorry. It was right there. It was right there. He didn't even have to move. A guy comes out of the bullpen and he's getting some major innings right now. Some high leverage endings. We need IG back.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Golly. Anyways, thanks for letting us take that trip down memory lane. That was our first and only really until working with you, experience with yeah what whatever you want to call a CGI I will say I think for all the videos we did
Starting point is 00:24:01 they were takes on illusions in different ways that didn't involve editing of the actual mechanic there was an element of realness to them still and I remember you guys were really picky about that because obviously it makes sense you don't want to preserve it
Starting point is 00:24:14 sure yeah they've stood on that hill for a long time we need another one comment below guys if you want to see another illusion one we need to do it it'd be fun yeah those ones take a lot of time but the payoff is That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:24:24 We had a great time on that. Dude, so AI, obviously, the big craze. The future is Zach King and where we're headed now. Does that change kind of the plan, the execution for your channel? What exactly does AI? I don't know if I have a job in two years.
Starting point is 00:24:39 I don't know. I'm worried AI is about to start announcing Dude Perfect vids, and I'm in trouble too. Did you guys sign up for that YouTube thing where you can face recognize? You have to do this whole scan. No. It's that new beta tab on YouTube back end.
Starting point is 00:24:52 And you scan your face. so I guess all you're going to have to scan and then it'll show you start populating any AI versions of you that it thinks is you. Oh wow. And you have that power now to I guess take down or remove or keep.
Starting point is 00:25:05 So I mean that's one tool that makes me hopeful. Interesting. No, I mean there's one hand as a filmmaker there's a lot of AI practical tools that are helpful. Like if you guys have rotoscoped, you know, you're frame by frame for 24 frames a second outlining things
Starting point is 00:25:21 that it takes days, hours for somebody. Like that doesn't need to be a human. No human wants that. That's not a creative task. Yep. And there's AI tools now that are coming to fix that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:29 And for stuff like that, I'm totally down. And like, I want tools that help me be more creative or get more time. More efficient. In the creative space and making my ideas better.
Starting point is 00:25:39 I don't think I'm at a point where I'm ever going to make something that's, I mean, who knows? All AI. Yeah. I love the handmade. I love that it feels that aesthetic. And I think that's what my channel
Starting point is 00:25:49 will be, like, moving forward. Because I think there's a lot of humans right now that are going to be craving on the other side of the AI world. Totally. The human, authentic stuff that is like 100% handmade. I think that's where my stuff will fall. But for future filmmaking, you know, it's the Wild West again. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:07 The fact that a kid in the Midwest eventually with the new C-dance thing can probably spend two grand of credits. Like I think this story is going to happen in the future where kids spends three grand, doesn't go to college, but instead spends that three grand. to buy credits, makes his first feature film, supplements it with like maybe some real actors or whatever, and it gets nominated for something really big, and it's like really groundbreaking in the storytelling.
Starting point is 00:26:33 And $2,500 Oscar would be sick. There's a world where that could happen, but I think obviously there's the whole actors and performance and copyright and all that, it's got in the artistry and what it's learning from is going to be important to figure out. But, yeah, it's a weird time. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:26:51 It's crazy. It's a little scary, but we'll see how it all pans out. You have an almost athlete moment. We call ourselves almost athletes because we are almost athletes. And we've all gone through a embarrassing moment in youth sport or even the workplace. You ever had that moment where it was like, yeah, I'm not an athlete or I don't know, maybe it was an editing thing you had. What was your go-to sport as a kid? Yeah, that's a good question.
Starting point is 00:27:13 I was taekwondo. Really? Yeah. Okay. So I famously did no sports growing up. I was homeschooled. and my parents, the reason I was homeschooled, is to learn piano, to have more time doing piano.
Starting point is 00:27:25 So how did that pan out? Great. I mean, I'm a concert pianist. Okay. I didn't know that. So it worked out. Wow. Concert pianists is a nice thing.
Starting point is 00:27:33 My tour would be me doing piano. Dude, we might need to get a piano. The time you're there. We usually pull from in-house talent. We have a Christmas party band. But there's a lot of keyboards. I feel like there's like a lot of drummers, guitarists and keyboardists, right, that come out of woodworks.
Starting point is 00:27:48 Yeah, but keyboard, we usually have, to bring in a former employee. So I don't think it'd be too much of a stretch. Yeah. Around Christmas time, I'm sure you got nothing going on. So come on down for the deep Christmas part. Just make sure to bring the headphones. Yeah, I'll bring them out.
Starting point is 00:28:01 You'll be sold. T.T. and the Tattas, that's our, that was our name this year. I don't know. It's always kind of a working title. That's fun. So, you know, music note reference. I'm sure you could understand. Yeah, I can tickle the ivories.
Starting point is 00:28:12 Wow. I'm excited for our next Christmas party. I would do like three to four hours of practice a day. Oh, wow. And then like three hours of home. I did not know that. And then my parents realized in high school, they're like, this kid's like really scrawny,
Starting point is 00:28:24 maybe not healthy. We should do a sport. And so they signed me up for Taekwondo. But the fun part of that was my family, they were like, I think it was like just a great salesman at the Taekwondo place, but he was like,
Starting point is 00:28:36 discount for the whole family. And so my entire, all five of us signed up, my sisters, my mom, my dad. You could have been a Taekwondo channel. We all.
Starting point is 00:28:45 Yeah. You never too like. It could have been around me. You still could. Yeah. No, there's, so we all, my mom, my dad, we all got black belts at the same time. Wow.
Starting point is 00:28:56 After four years by the time I went to college. That's a very just athlete moment. There's no almost about that one. Well, we were terrible, though. I mean, you got a black belt? We were bad. We were bad. Has Taekwondo made it to Gen 2?
Starting point is 00:29:08 Like, are your kids? Well, the almost athlete moment with, in the full circle for Taekwondo was I was at Knott'sbury Farm. This is the year Vine came out. So 2014-ish. I was invited to this big celebrity party like McColley Col. and was there, a bunch of Disney, it was a big Disney channel thing. Instagram hosted it.
Starting point is 00:29:25 I probably shouldn't tell this story, but Instagram hosted it. And I go to the party and after they're like, hey, you guys have access to the entire park. There's a special pass. You can go to all the front of the lines. And so it was the Hollywood scare, whatever, the horror nights, whatever, they have people pop out at you. And so I go out, long story short, we meet this crazy, just a guy that starts attacking us, me and my buddy. And you were ready. And I was like, hold on.
Starting point is 00:29:50 I've trained my whole one. This guy's throwing punches. He's hitting my friends. No. And I'm like, well, I'm going to hold on. I like, go through this slow motion sequence. I get on my black belt. And I go at him.
Starting point is 00:30:01 I'm like, this is the move that like I'm taught to take him down. The next thing I remember, I'm on the ground. Oh, no. Oh, my gosh. I see a bunch of cameras and there's people that are just like, is that the guy from Vine? I'm like so unconscious. And we're filming the video.
Starting point is 00:30:17 It's like just like the movie's like, flashing it out of black the next time I'm like behind backstage at knott'sbury and there's all these medics like putting things in my nose and apparently the guy ran off and it was just wild but you thought that was the moment to shine that's your hero moment i'm a low key kind of glad i didn't make any contact because who knows legally maybe there's a whole other repercussion of that alternate reality of where the fight was give you like their recap of how you did um it made it to TMZ no And it was just like, fine star gets docked out at Knottesbury Farm. That's a great story.
Starting point is 00:30:54 How did you never hear that before? That's such a good story. Yeah, we classify that as an almost-degree moment. 100%. That's exactly what we were looking for. And that's why you taekwondo. And that's why a taekwondo. So now I don't tell, when people are like, do you do sports, I'm like, no, not really.
Starting point is 00:31:08 No, all especially in Taekwondo, but. It's piano. I want to start a petition that on tour, you rip off the National Anthem before the show on the piano. Yeah. As long as there's not singing. Yeah, no singing. So sick. That could be cool.
Starting point is 00:31:19 Just saying, I agree. People would love that. Comment below if you want to hear the National Anthem performed by Zach King himself. I like that idea, Spark. Oh, I just like the idea in general.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Do you have like a creator singing a national anthem every time? Yeah. Oh, nice. No, we don't. We should do it. You should do it. I sang the National Anthem at a Stars game one time. How'd that go?
Starting point is 00:31:37 It was great. You were sick. Did you really have a battle through like some nasal stuff? Back when we did TV. You actually sang it? Actually sang it. Do they auto tune you? No.
Starting point is 00:31:46 Tye's actually pretty good. Good singer? Ties above average. Ties above average. When we were in college, we told him he should do American Idol, and he was always like, I'm not that good. And we're like, well, I mean, I've seen American Idol. They're not all good.
Starting point is 00:31:56 It's good self-awareness. I don't think you were good enough, but you're definitely good enough. Not to be an idol. That's the reason he's in the band at the Christmas party and me and Sparky or not. Correct. Well, lead dancer. Sure.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Don't cut me sure. We all have a role. But if you rip the keys for National Anthem, I like the National Anthemad. I like the national anthem at tour. Well, I was just at the rodeo. And I'll sing it. We were, our family was at the rodeo, and it adds.
Starting point is 00:32:18 Yeah. Like, it adds. It's a moment. Especially this year. For sure. Centennial. And your audience is so, like, you're going to go down the middle of the country there. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Are we competing against any, any non-American, like Canadians or anybody? No. Throw it in a no Canada? Do you know? Are you going out that north? No. Is there a Canada portion of the tour? Like you who are coming with us to compete.
Starting point is 00:32:40 And I'm thinking about their, we got any non-Americans? That'd be just spicy. No, this is an American tour. Yeah. Yeah, all-American tour. That's right. We did Toronto in the past. Good people.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Really good anthem. Oh, Canada. All right, we got a game, spark. All right, Zach, time to play the Magic game. So people can get to know you better. We're going to give you two options, and you make one of them disappear in this or that style competition. So whatever you pick is gone from planet Earth.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Ready? Just gone. Gone forever. Let's start it. The Magic game. Baseball or football? Which one we disappear forever? Baseball.
Starting point is 00:33:11 Baseball. Do you like football now? I have a buddy that plays football, so I'm only trying to secure his job. Okay, that's fair. That's a good friend. That's a good friend. That's a personal. Pizza or French fries?
Starting point is 00:33:21 Oh, French fries gone. Yeah, pizza is my favorite meal. I'm with you. Crocs or flip flops? I got a flip-flops. Oh, my goodness. You may or may not offend somebody in the wrong answer. I got to remove flip-lops.
Starting point is 00:33:35 Yeah, good answer. You're going to be judged by Tyler. I've been wearing crocs since before they were cool. So I appreciate that one. You're welcome. Three-parter. You've got to make one of these disappear. Harry Potter.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Minecraft, Star Wars. What? Yeah. I'm gonna delete the most popular one probably at Minecraft. Oh, yeah. I didn't see that. Star Wars is one of the movies that got me into filmmaking, so I have to keep that.
Starting point is 00:33:59 Harry Potter, such a big audience, I think they will actually kill me. Yeah, let's see. I can play into the ground. Can you live without the Minecraft? You don't need that on the internet. Your border page are not a threat. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:34:12 He's easy. He's easy. Easy. tap the brakes there. For all we know, that guy who dropped them in the streets might have been an HP fan. It may be a huge Harry Potter guy.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Have you watched or read Harry Potter? I watched three of the Harry Potter movies on a flight, and then I was bored out of my mind. And they never left the Gothic school. We have a long way to go with you. Yeah, long way to go. Kobe or Corey? Wow.
Starting point is 00:34:40 Wow. We're going to delete Corey. We're going to delete Corey. to depend on. That's the thing. That's the smart play. There's always at least one left. Kobe does not know Taekwondo, by the way, so you would have been totally saying to go with Kobe.
Starting point is 00:34:54 If you're absent, that's on you. Corey, good answer. Socks or underwear? I'm deleting socks. Yeah, I mean, come, what? I feel like that's blister-sidy, though. My swim shorts, I just, I need underwear. You guys not?
Starting point is 00:35:09 No, I agree with you. It's a little risky. We are, we are so aligned. You've done, I feel like you're crushing this right now. That's the same. to the undies. I'll tell you what. Children's birthday parties or Halloween? One of them's got to go.
Starting point is 00:35:21 Birthday parties. You can go. All for kids, but... I mean, four parties in a year. Once you hit like your 18th birthday, that's kind of the same at that point. Playing cards or video games. Oh, I'm going to remove video games.
Starting point is 00:35:38 Yeah, it's a magic background. Yeah, magic card tricks. In real life, too. Like, you'll survive. Heat or air conditioning? I could remove a heat. That's a complete bias from where he lives. Agreed though. Yes.
Starting point is 00:35:52 In LA, AC is mandatory. Mobile phones or cars? I'm going to delete mobile phones. Yeah, baby. I think we'd be okay. I'll tell you this. We launched an outdoor channel this year, and for me,
Starting point is 00:36:05 a lot of that. You need to unplug. It's so good. You just need a break. It's healthy. You need a break. Yeah. It's too much.
Starting point is 00:36:11 You realize how healthy it is until you unplugged. I get excited when the plane says there's no Wi-Fi. which is rare nowadays. That's like the last place besides like Joshua Tree that you can't get service usually, but now it's there.
Starting point is 00:36:23 Showers or baths? I'm going to remove baths. Yeah, same. I don't remember the last time I took a bath. What we could do without that? In 10 years for me. This is good. Also, it used a lot.
Starting point is 00:36:32 Does it seem like it uses a lot of water? Too much. Yeah. Does anyone measure if it's more than a shower? Caught on more, but yeah, you would think, well, I actually don't know the numbers there, but you would think baths are a lot more water. But it depends how long of the shower you take.
Starting point is 00:36:45 Yeah. I mean, I do sit in the shower, like, just on the ground. Yeah. Is that where a lot of, like, video have a seat in there? It's just, you go straight ground. I do have a seat, but the water doesn't hit the seat. Yeah. You sit on the ground?
Starting point is 00:36:58 I sit. I do no way. I'm sat in the shower and just. I've never done that one time. You're joking. Not really. Sit on the ground. I did it last week.
Starting point is 00:37:07 I'm talking. I'm talking criss cross apples sauce. Yeah. You just sit there on top of the day. You definitely use more water than the shower. That's That's wild I can't wait to try it
Starting point is 00:37:19 Is that the secret How you come up With your illusion videos Just sitting in the shower Yeah it is It's just a epiphany I remember I retin link said one time
Starting point is 00:37:26 That if you eat an orange In the shower It tastes like 10 times better And I actually tried that one time And I agree with them It's a wild, it's a wild deal That's the weirdest thing I've ever done That's the weirdest thing you ever said
Starting point is 00:37:38 That is not It was like an internet craze A few years ago It was a thing You're wrong You got to try it with the sweet and low on the lemon tastes like an orange.
Starting point is 00:37:47 No, that was splendia. Whatever it was. It was crazier. Even crazier. Look it up. Mixing illusions. An orange in the shower? Rat and Link set you up
Starting point is 00:37:56 and that joke finally paid off. Wow. We actually got them with the orange. It's different. Live audience or comment section? Ooh, I mean, I'm going to remove the comment section there. Yeah. Do you still look at the comments sections?
Starting point is 00:38:11 Okay for the world? Just to get a little bit. A little bit. Yeah. I think it's a habit. Yeah. Yeah. It's a slippery slope, though.
Starting point is 00:38:17 You don't want to build you too much in that. Yep. YouTube or TikTok? Careful. It's a heavy hitter here. Careful. I'm going to delete the TikTok. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:24 I mean, I kind of thought it was already gone and it's back. Is it still here? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. It's back. It's still here. I think it's American.
Starting point is 00:38:30 It's here. I don't even know what that is. Laboo Boo-boos or cocoa melon. Is that the little stuff to animals? Oh, LeBibu, that's, yeah. Yonis gave my youngest to Labibu at the Celebrity All-Star game. He's like, Oh, cool, thanks.
Starting point is 00:38:46 I'm going to delete Labuboos. You honest did? Yeah. That's funny. We're trying to explain to his youngest. It's not about the Labou my young man. It was about the guy who gave me the Luboooooo. He's looking only at the Stubo.
Starting point is 00:38:56 That's funny. I missed that moment. Oh, puppies are kittens. Oh, puppies are kittens. Oh, you can't do this to me. Yikes. You have both? This is wrong.
Starting point is 00:39:04 Yeah, this is wrong. I don't have either. Really? Really? No. I'm Petless Sue right now. Oh, this is so bad. I just made a short film that's coming out next week called Jurassic Bark.
Starting point is 00:39:14 So I, it's gonna be called, I recreated Jurassic Park, but with my pets. And you want that to still be able to come out. So you can say the right answer. Say the right answer. But no, I love cats. Well, I love cats. And my first viral video is Jedi kittens. So I'm gonna delete puppies.
Starting point is 00:39:27 Wow. Oh, you might have just lost half your fan base with that one there. I love how we made that one extra tough. Instead of dogs and cats, we gave the baby stage. Puppies and kittens. It's like, gosh, you're gonna be a sick individual regardless. It's like, Zach, I just want to say, I know we've known you for a long time, and we've told you this personally,
Starting point is 00:39:48 but want to say it on the podcast, really grateful for your example. I just feel like you've made amazing content for a really long time. And there's a reason, guys, if you all haven't already seen it, that Zach's content's on our app. He's one of the few people that we trust the way we hope people trust our content. So just encouraged by you, encourage your brother in Christ. And yeah, just thanks for how well you've done it all these years, for one year longer than us. And thank you for choosing Corey to disappear. Seriously.
Starting point is 00:40:15 You should have left it in too. But yeah, man, grateful for you. You're proud of you. And try a chill to work in a hot shower. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:21 Can't wait to hear what you think about the orange. Yeah. Well, thank you, Zach, for stopping by. You're always welcome. Next time bringing the kids, though,
Starting point is 00:40:28 because you're going to hear about that when you get home. Yeah. Yeah. Everybody give it up one last time. Last time. Thanks for having me, guys. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:40:38 See you on tour. Yeah, we'll see there. Almost. What did you door dash this week, Sparky? Let's see. pizza on Monday, tacos on Tuesday, of course, donuts on Wednesday and pizza and tacos. Wednesday was a tough day. Well, glad to see you're eating healthy, but you know you can dooredash way more than just food.
Starting point is 00:40:57 I sure do. When we've talked about this before, Corey told us once he dooredashed sand for a sandbox, which proves that you can really dooredash anything. That's right. As Corey proves, DoorDash is extra helpful when you're a parent. Instead of dragging the kids to a store because they need batteries for a toy, I just door dash it. When life happens, DoorDash is always there for me. And when Corey happens, DoorDash is there.
Starting point is 00:41:17 DoorDash gives me more time to spend with my kids and more time for myself. So what are you going to do with all this new extra free time of yours? I think I'm about having a snack. You read my mind. Let's DoorDash it. When life gets crazy, DoorDash helps bring a little order to it. Starting point is 00:43:15 I like head of fan engagement personally. I'm going to talk to the higher ups. about this. This is ridiculous. Yeah, they clearly didn't listen to our previous podcast. Wow. That's all right. I'll go by whatever you call me. Our hireups don't believe in us. Yeah. If that's not a chip on your shoulder coming into podcast day, then what is? Well, oh, she has a chip on her shoulder. Let me tell you. Oh, I think we'll get there later. Yeah, we'll get there. We'll get there. Okay, I'm interested. Whoa. Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something? I don't think so, but you might think so. Okay, gotcha, gotcha. How was the weekend, though,
Starting point is 00:43:43 for the both of y'all? Good weekend. A win for Florida's a good weekend for me. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I had a good weekend, went on the golf trip. Fun. You know, tough not to complain how tired I am. I'm tired, but it was like the golf trip, you know. Yeah, that's always tough. Yeah, the whole, I'm tired after an exotic golf trip. Just doesn't hold it.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Yeah, I know. I know it doesn't. That's tough. I made sure to tell Christian. But at least you knew to lay in the plane safely there. Yeah. You knew that was going to get judged. My weekend was fine.
Starting point is 00:44:07 I am battling. One of my pet peeves is cutting my fingernails too short. Oh. I did it really bad this time around. It's burned. Yeah, and then another pet peeve I'm wearing an Adidas hat with Nike shoes. So I'm out of sorts. a little bit.
Starting point is 00:44:18 Got it. I wouldn't have noticed, but... Really? Yeah. I thought your alcohol was nice. Yeah, it's the daylight savings. Let's talk about that. Spring and Ford.
Starting point is 00:44:26 That's still a thing, isn't it? In 2016, it always hits me. But it's weird, because don't some states stay in... I think it's just Arizona. Maybe. Oh, maybe. Yeah, Arizona. That's true because it messed up our chel schedule.
Starting point is 00:44:38 I have a couple brothers that I play NHL with. And last night, I thought they were going to be on an hour earlier than what they were, but they're now two hours behind me. So it's really shout out whoever... Who invented daylight. savings time. Daylight savings time is fun, but you know what else is fun? March Madness.
Starting point is 00:44:53 March Madness, Selection Sunday is upon us. Is this the most important Sunday of the year other than Easter Sunday? This is the second biggest Sunday, I think. It goes Easter and then boom, selection Sunday. Well, you know what? I would like to say there's one more right out for Easter before March Madness. Are you going to say Super Bowl Sunday? I'm not.
Starting point is 00:45:12 No, I'm going to shout out all the moms out there. Mother's Day is always on a Sunday. and without them, we don't survive. That was a bad look. Like I said, favorite Sundays go Easter Mother's Day, then selection Sunday. You and Sundays get along. Don't forget, I don't know if we ever told people about this,
Starting point is 00:45:31 but on tour, Garrett, a couple years ago, went through like three consecutive Sundays winning the tour battle. To the point, I gave him the nickname Sabbath G. Because he was showing up on Sundays, unbelievable. So if you come to a tour show and your favorite dude is, the Purple Hoser, come on a Sunday. You're almost guaranteed a victory. It's, yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:51 The stakes are high for sure. Let's talk about it. College Hoops, Selection Sunday. In terms, Kobe, the twins both agree, this is like the top of the echelon sports day of the years. Same for you. In terms of the first couple days of the tournament, Thursday, Friday for next week.
Starting point is 00:46:10 Yeah, it's exciting. I prefer a bit of the later games in the tournament, just because I feel like that's a bit of a higher, competition in terms of like excitement hopefully the Florida Gators will also make it that far down the road but um in terms of like the fact that there's so many games playing in those first couple of days like yeah that's exciting especially we have a lot of TVs around here so playing all of those games on the TVs yeah it's got to be one of the most inefficient work days of the year for sure and school like back in the day of school that's how you determine who is the cool teacher you know you walk into
Starting point is 00:46:45 fourth period history and they got the games on it. It was like Coach Langston, come on, baby. You got Old Dominion as well? You know, that's fine. We can put a little bit of Texas history aside here. Let's watch some games. Let's watch some games. Do we have anything on the schedule next week? I put in PTO for Thursday. So I'll actually be driving up to the panhandle. So perfect time. I'll let Kristen drive. I'm responsible. Yeah. And watch the games on the way up to Yeah, that much chit-hacking on the way to the panhandle. You're going to be logged in on a 12-bub. I'd be chit-chatting to the screen for sure.
Starting point is 00:47:19 You know, I like to get involved. Yeah. You know, ref a couple games here and there. Oh, yeah. Just stay loose. Stay ready, just case your numbers are ready. I get it. Stay ready. Projected top seeds look like we pretty much determined our number one seeds.
Starting point is 00:47:32 Yeah. Michigan, Zona, in Florida. Does everybody agree with that? I agree. Kind of crazy with the turn of events with Yukon. Yeah. Would you rather be a one or a two seed? Well,
Starting point is 00:47:42 that's a great question. I feel like one seed, you do have a like target on your back per se, but if things go similar as last year, could this be a all for like one seed final four again? I was telling our CEO, Andrew, who is a Duke graduate, that I feel like this thing's going to provide
Starting point is 00:48:05 some early nonsense in terms of upsets, but as we get into the Sweet 16 Elite 8, it's going to get really chalky. in the sense that I do feel like the Dukes, Michigan, Zonas and Florida's of the world are really, really good this year. Like what Duke's doing currently dismantling the competition? I guess it's one of the better Duke teams I've ever seen. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:25 See, I disagree with you. They're getting better as the year has gone on. I know. But look, I don't want to like, you know. Are you down on the ACC? Is that what it is? Well, yeah. I mean, they beat UNC, but do UNC is without Williams?
Starting point is 00:48:36 I mean, at this point, it's like, should you even put UNC in the tournament? They also have two injured players, correct? two of their, like, top people that they didn't have in that game? If I'm looking at the top four seeds, uh, yeah, and I'm not just saying this because Kelsey's wearing a Florida shirt,
Starting point is 00:48:53 but I don't see how anyone beats Florida. It would take Florida beating themselves to not win this national championship. Really? They're too, they're monstrous. I mean, I understand like NBA's a different pace of a game, so I'll take NBA off the table.
Starting point is 00:49:10 They could wreck a lot of G-League teams. Just because they're on court size alone, the athleticism. They, uh, they're that good. And their bigs, not only like, they, their bigs are like, you know, a proper power forward in the, in the NBA. Like, I mean, they're, they're real good, man. And they've only gotten better.
Starting point is 00:49:28 They started out, uh, rough, rough. But now they're like literally beating teams by 40 points. I will say our two first games was like Arizona, Duke, Yukon, like, those, that. Those were like our first teams out the gate. So starting on a five and four record with those teams I was okay with, but we did not look great. And I think people are going to be like,
Starting point is 00:49:50 well, half the number one seeds beat you guys. And it's like, well, again, that was four months ago. Yeah, we are completely different. And I think Michigan has kind of maybe stayed the same, not gone down, but they haven't gotten better. Arizona,
Starting point is 00:50:06 I don't know, man. It's like, is big 12 that much better than like what Florida had to go through and I just don't I don't think so personally maybe not because Kansas is a little taking a step back and so like and so I'm just looking at those things and Florida's the only one that has consistently gotten better so that's what I'm just like they're going to be tough to beat and again no one I don't name a team that can match up with them like there's just not there's not they're not there yeah I appreciate that's the beauty of the NCAA tournament in a one and done situation it is pressure is 30 minutes of a little college kids you're
Starting point is 00:50:40 bad half, a bad shooting half all of a sudden you look up and you're down 10, you know, it happens fast. But again, all I'm saying is that's going to be a Florida team beating themselves, if you limit turnovers and you utilize your bigs properly, like, and you're not just jacking three balls, they run, they run through you. But if you're going to get off your game plan and a team's going to get them off their game plan, you have a shot. I guess the other schools that would be in the running if they were to win their conference championship for a one seed would be Houston if they ran the gauntlet in the Big 12, Iowa State in the same boat, Michigan State, I guess, but even though they just lost in Michigan.
Starting point is 00:51:15 So I think your one seeds are pretty set in stone. I would love a Houston National Championship. I feel like they're like... They've been knocking on the door for a while. They've been knocking on the door for... I like Helton Samson too. And they're an experienced team, so they have... And then Arkansas obviously has the generational talent
Starting point is 00:51:34 and that they're a fun team to watch. They're a fun team to watch. Because you don't know what you're going to get. They could lose in the first round by 50 or they could go to a final four. I'm thoroughly convinced. Get ready to drive the indie. That's a long one. Would you go?
Starting point is 00:51:46 Are you confirming, going if they make the final four? Why? What kind of fan are you? Yeah, that would be incredible. You guys got tickets for me? No, that's a fair question. That's a fair question. I don't want to get my hopes up.
Starting point is 00:51:59 I truly believe that they're really great. But like you said, technically anything can happen in March Madness. That's the beauty. There's so many storylines that are written. and so many upsets along the way. Can't wait for the journey. Let's go back to the comment you made. Right?
Starting point is 00:52:14 You said that the first two week, that the first weekend is not exciting basketball. Yes. I think she's been spoiled by sweet 16s ever past. Her blood doesn't get going until sweet 16. I think she has a point. I think she has a point here. I think just in general, historically, like these,
Starting point is 00:52:31 if you just look at even these last two, March Madness is 24, 25, like, 20 to 30 point differences in the games with like 1 and 16 seeds or 2 and 15 there isn't too much competition
Starting point is 00:52:48 until you really get towards the sweet 16 however I understand that I guess the goal is that we're trying to be inclusive of all conferences I'm just not sure with the way that the college modern college day is like heading
Starting point is 00:53:06 with Transfer Portal NIL, like, if those seeds will ever be super competitive. Yeah. And I think also when you think about the way like the auto bid works, you're potentially not putting your best
Starting point is 00:53:22 like team forward because because randomly happens a lot in the smaller conferences. Yeah. Randomly a team like for example the Queens University they're going through and like they got demolished by Auburn. So Auburn's like a team that everyone's like, if they get in the tournament, like that's ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:53:42 They don't deserve to be in it. But I'm like, okay, but we now have this Queens University who isn't really that competitive in the name of inclusivity. Yeah. I mean, it's a fair argument. I love the inclusivity. I think it's what makes March March is the Cinderella seeing which slipper fits. But I get your point. I do.
Starting point is 00:54:03 Do you think that the Cinderella era could be? be like coming to an end or less likely just because of the transfer portal, like taking away those people? Yeah, I think from that standpoint, there is definitely a gap in the sense of talent. You're seeing a lot of these top-end, low major, mid-major team players from these teams, go join the high majors later in their college career. You're seeing a ton of that. So it definitely makes it tougher.
Starting point is 00:54:29 But my counter-argument would be we've seen two 16s beat ones in the last 10 years. Yeah, but... It never happened since the 80s up until that point. I just think there's ball being played across the United States at an exponential rate. And there's people who always
Starting point is 00:54:46 find their way to see, you know, fall through the cracks. I agree with Kelsey because I think the NIL era changed that. So like last year, if it happens this year, it's definitely like... Yeah. Riding's on the wall. Like if it's chalk, is what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:54:59 Yeah, like auto bid. Like, actually, I wish somebody how many upsets were in the first two days last year? I don't think there was any. There was, yeah, well, Oakland beat Kentucky. The Golky kid went nuts. You're going to have a couple of those. But it wasn't like your typical, like, if you just did like a regular, like, I'm just
Starting point is 00:55:20 going to pick every favorite, like, you had a pretty high win percentage last year. And it's because, like, what you just said, those guys are going to your Florida's and to these, to these bigger schools to make a run. There's no more that experienced fifth year player that's, that's, playing that could that has the experience to take a 16 team 16 seed to upset the one yeah so like to me like I just uh I feel like we're we're at a very like we're kind of coming to an end when it comes to like the best day the best you know two days in sports now it's the amount of the amount of basketball's fun like just throughout the day like you're watching games like
Starting point is 00:56:01 that's fun doesn't get any better but you're not watching like Like, you know, you'll have an eight and nine that's a good game, a 10, 7, all the way down to like the 512. Yeah. But like your one through four seeds are pretty much locks. And I think the fun part of it for fans really is like the participation of creating your own bracket. But like if you get towards the idea where there aren't as many upsets, then there's less fun in like picking because you kind of are just like, well, these are the teams that are going to like move forward. You know what you're setting yourself up for? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:33 a year of massive amounts of upsets. That's what's coming. I hope so. Because if A&M gets into the tournament, I'm going to need them to upset for people because they're going to be like a tin seed. Well, no one upset Florida. That's all I'm asking for.
Starting point is 00:56:46 I hope you're right, dude, because I can, you know, I need some upsets. But I mean, look, everyone wants to know. Everyone, the big question is, does Miami, Ohio get in? Yes. Deserved to get in. They're in it.
Starting point is 00:57:02 Yes. And they do deserve to get in as well. So my question is, when does who you play matter? I think it always matters, but I want to say this for Travis Steele, because I saw a interview with him last week when he talked about 90 different schools, Power 5 schools that he reached out to that did not play them. So my question is... That's the issue is everybody says, go play better people, go play better people.
Starting point is 00:57:30 But when you're that good of a mid-major, there's no incentive. for the high major to play them because to your fan base they're going to be like hey that's a run-of-the-mill Mac team mid-major you should beat them when in reality that coach knows hey we're setting ourselves up for absolute disaster here because they're pretty darn good and another thing is never ever ever did the mid-majors get that game at home if they are going to play a power five they have to do it on the road too so but why were other people in the Mac able to get like a power five team in the non-con yeah and like Miami of Ohio wasn't or a Is there something that they're not saying?
Starting point is 00:58:06 Yeah, yeah, no, you've got a point, but I'll counter with this. You ask, you know, at what point does who you play factor in? At what point does not losing factor in? 31 and 0 is 31 and 0. I don't care if you play middle school basketball teams. That is so tough to do at any level when 31 consecutive basketball games. I agree. I do think that is very impressive.
Starting point is 00:58:26 But it would be like comparing, like if you went 31 straight against Jackson, like Garrett's playing tie. Oh, I thought you were throwing shots at Jackson State, the SWAC team. No, no, no. Like, shots fired. I'm just saying, yes, it's very impressive that you were able to beat Jackson 31 times. But like, no offense, but that's your competition level was lower than if it was Gary versus Ty. So now what makes us believe that you should go and play against Ty and we should believe that you have a chance?
Starting point is 00:58:59 The fact I did it 31 consecutive times. I mean, I've never gone on a 31 day streak of brushing my teeth. teeth consecutive days. You know, that's hard. Basketball games, 31 of them. That's absurd. But they played three D2 schools. Most two in the non-con.
Starting point is 00:59:14 Even Florida probably has their cup of tea against the D2 here and there. Okay. No, I give what you say. Your argument holds weight, but at some point in the game, like once you reach the 30-win echelon, like that should be safe and secure. I think Kelsey's being too nice.
Starting point is 00:59:27 What she's trying to say is Miami of Ohio undeserved to be in. And that's okay. I mean, we all have bold predictions. What seed line do you all have? She has them as a in the NIT.
Starting point is 00:59:40 A first four. I've got them on a five line, six line, which I think is fair for them. If you put them on the five line, they're setting up for the 12th, the 12-5 upset. Yeah. They're setting up. They don't match up. Like, dude, at the end of the day, like they are a good team, but A&M who's not that good of a team is favored in that game.
Starting point is 00:59:58 That's what Kelsey's trying to say is like, yeah. It's, I don't think they should be a five seed. I mean, I don't care how many games you won. I think maybe the highest you should go is eight. Really? Maybe? Really? Yeah, because, dude, like, at the end of the day, like, I don't know if, I just,
Starting point is 01:00:17 that's a big honor to be a five seed. Like, you got to play, dude, for A&M to be a five seed, we need to go like, you know, 25 and six. Right. In the SEC play. That's fair. When you put it that way, that's fair. I mean, that's, we're talking about, like,
Starting point is 01:00:31 I 100% think A&M could be, 31 and 0. In the Mac Conference? How about this? This is a different question. Let's take Texas, OU, Auburn, Indiana. Yep.
Starting point is 01:00:41 All those teams are on the outside looking in. If they played Miami of Ohio, what's their record? No, like, their Miami-O-Hou schedule. Are they 31-0? I don't think so. I bet they trip along the way. But what makes you believe that?
Starting point is 01:00:57 It's just so hard. It is. I mean, it's not. They squeaked by in how many overtime games. Play it probably four or five overtime games alone. So they had a fight for it. I'm not taking it away. I think they should get in.
Starting point is 01:01:09 But a five seat seems a little high. I would be shocked if the committee puts them out of five or higher. Yeah. That would be more like seven, eight. Yeah, just because like it's, and why is Texas even on the bubble? They should be in. Here's my argument, though, with that.
Starting point is 01:01:27 When you have high majors like Texas, OU, Auburn, who play in the SEC, you have ample amounts of opportunity. all year long. Miami of Ohio would beg for a quad one game late in the year. You have them lined up game after game. You've had every opportunity in the world to grasp it, your tournament bid,
Starting point is 01:01:43 and go make it happen. But again, you just said it's so hard to go 31 and 0. Dude, it's very hard. Take even like a Florida team to go up against another quad two, quad one team consistently, dude. It's like, it's what we always said in the SEC football schedule.
Starting point is 01:01:59 It's like, dude, weekend after week out, these guys are putting their bottom. bodies on the line. First, like, yeah, Indiana's a good team. They won the national championship. They deserved it. But do they have injuries heading into the playoffs that they play in SEC schedule? Just like all the other teams have?
Starting point is 01:02:13 100%. Do they win without those injuries? Sure. I don't know. Sure. It's just, dude, it's a different type of grind on your body. It is. And that's where the fairness comes in the play.
Starting point is 01:02:22 In Miami, Ohio only played like one quad two game. Yep. They didn't even play quad one or really any quad two. So. I think they deserve to get in just because it's 31 and 19. knows like now if they would have lost that team in Ohio on on a Sunday it would have hurt their chances I still have a made about but if they lose to Akron are like you still saying that I that's going to be interesting because they could lose to UMass tomorrow morning and they're in I think
Starting point is 01:02:48 they're going to I think the committee's going to have a hard time because then it's going to you've basically just burned the whole system down if you leave them out like where's the incentive that's what there's no incentive to where do we jump line good so then what is the incentive of us not like any of the other teams not scheduling their non-conference games as random B2 schools. Well, I'll tell you what, A&M does do that and we still struggle. The danger side of it would be there's no margin for air. Like they've had to play with the pressure of knowing any one singular loss could throw their March Madness bid. Yeah, if Florida lose, so here, same thing. If Florida goes 30 and one and that one loss is to like a D2 school,
Starting point is 01:03:32 that severely hurts her net rank. Like, I mean, it is like... It's a quad four. It's bad, bad. Like, it's like, uh, it's like, you went from like a one seed to a eight. Mm-hmm. Like, they severely penalize you.
Starting point is 01:03:46 So there is, it's better to play the better people. So like, there's no reason for like Florida or A&M to go that route of like schedule the eat. Because if you flip, slip up, dude, it is. It's better to slip up versus a quad one for sure. 100%. So then what teams on the bubble do you think? think should be in. Okay. So I'm about to list off some bubble teams. So it's really important
Starting point is 01:04:06 this week for your teams to win because there will be some bid stealers we talked about before coming on air say Akron does beat Miami of Ohio in the title game. That means the Mac now gets two bids, which would be taking away from a bubble. So if you're Texas, Oklahoma, Auburn, Indiana, Sinci, SMU, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Santa Clara, VCU, Boise State in New Mexico, they're all on the bubble. They're all cheering for Miami, Ohio. They're all cheering for Miami of Ohio. Because if Akron was to win, then you would have two from the Mac. And they also need to do work themselves in their respective conference. To be a team of those programs, a huge week for you.
Starting point is 01:04:40 And I would go as far to argue that this week, for a college hoops fan, a junkie like myself, this week's almost more fun. I agree. Next week, champ week. Because, for instance, 10 seed Georgia Southern. I don't know if you've seen this. I've ripped off five wins in five days as the 10 seed out of the Sunbelt. Play in the title game tonight.
Starting point is 01:04:58 This will air after the title game is played. but you have some kids who are one game away from going to their nine to five engineering job and their basketball career being over yet here they are sixth day trying to accomplish their sixth win to continue their season. You got L.A.U. L.A.U. You got L.A.U. L.A.A.
Starting point is 01:05:16 L.A. L.A. L.A. O'L.A. The Sharks. First time ever. Punch their ticket. Yeah. That's cool. You can't take that away. So good question to ask you. There is like Mercyhurst who still is in that. I'm so proud of you for no Mercy Hurst. Yeah, so cool. I'll be very transparent. The reason that I know them is because I saw that L.I.U.
Starting point is 01:05:35 is getting in just automatically because they're playing Mercilious in the conference. So what do you think about that? If you transition into the, you know, D1, should you have to wait those two years? It's silly. Is it two years now? Yeah. It's a ridiculous rule. Same thing happened, I think, to Bellarmine last year, school out of Kentucky who made the title game.
Starting point is 01:05:56 And if they won, it didn't matter. I think they did. I think there was one of them that did win and just didn't even get to go. I think the same thing's happening in college football where they're saying North Dakota State, at least for this next year, is ineligible to college football. I'm like, if you're going to move them up to Division I-L-O-Best level, let's just call that. Let them have their shot, man. You never know.
Starting point is 01:06:14 Yeah, never know. And you never know with March. It's going to be a really fun weekend starts this Sunday with Selection Sunday. So we don't know, we don't know the bracket. Yep. And the bracket means a lot because matchups mean everything. But we know the, I think we know like the quality of the, the, we know, we know who could be a champion.
Starting point is 01:06:29 Yep. I don't think any of these qualifiers are going to, I think the highest they've gone is, what's the highest final four seat? That's eight? No, I mean, Florida Atlantic made it, what, two years ago? Is it nine?
Starting point is 01:06:39 Okay, so nine, nine's the highest. You're going to see something like that? I'm telling you that one team. But I'm saying like even then, like to win those next two games, they're not really going to win it. It's a cool run, but we can pick a winner.
Starting point is 01:06:51 I think we know who could be the winner. Sure. So who's, who's winning? Ooh, that's a great question. I've been rocking with this team because I love guard play in Mar. I think the Big 12 is up there with the best conference. Iowa State. They shoot the three ball really well.
Starting point is 01:07:04 They worry me about the size, the rebounding could become an issue. But man, if they go on a multi-week heater from beyond the arc, I could see Iowa State. I can see the cyclones in the final four. Besides Florida. I can't. No, you got to. At a girl, stand on business. I will say. Gators, baby. Go Gators. What's the way to jump? Oh, right over left. Right over left. Oh, that matters. It does. They teach you that on your first day. but I genuinely do think if we continue to play the way that we've played I mean the last 10 minutes against Kentucky was not ideal it was not our best but if we continue to play the way we played our three point percentage has increased over the final like games of the season
Starting point is 01:07:45 Ruben Chenylu is genuinely the best defensive player in the league I mean I think I think that they're going to be pretty unstoppable if they show up and play how they can play and they don't like like you said i think that it's them beating themselves over someone else beating them uh mercy hurst by two and overtime and a 16 one i hope you enjoy it uh mercy hers can't even get in because there you go good rebuttal i don't know where they're going to be situated i don't think this year is all ones um somebody will mess it up yeah and i'm gonna go uh i think michigan state might be a two or three yeah is o in march man and is o and march
Starting point is 01:08:24 is just going to be really hard coaching math I'm not saying they're going to win it, but I think they're going to make the Final Four. Love it. Because they just... It's good pick. Always do. And I hope they're on different sides of the bracket and not playing in the Final Four. I would love to see...
Starting point is 01:08:37 I'd love to see the rematch from last year. Houston. That'd be fun. Florida. That would be fun. And if it is Houston, Florida, you're going to buy Kelsey a ticket to Indie. Deal. If that happens.
Starting point is 01:08:50 Deal. Deal. I'm not... But she has to get herself there. She has in a flight ticket. I just don't see again. I truly don't see. I watched a lot of college basketball.
Starting point is 01:09:01 I mean, there are teams that can do it. And that's the beauty of filling out of brackets. I sit here and watch so much basketball in a year. And my mom will fill it out based off like affiliation. Yeah, like, oh, your uncle went, you know, to Yale. Give me them and all of a sudden they're in the sweet 16. Well, I can't really pick one.
Starting point is 01:09:17 If I had to pick, I'd probably say Florida. That's right. Go Gators. For the women's, though, I can't believe I'm picking this. I don't see anybody touching them. Texas Longhorns are going to win it. Wow. Give me Audi Crooks, a double dipping of Iowa state titles.
Starting point is 01:09:31 Really? Ames Iowa would burn down. That would be crazy. That would be wild. Yeah, it's going to be a fun week. It is. But we really brought Kelsey on to talk NFL trades. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:42 Big NFL girl. That is why you're here. It's the Wild Wild West out there, NFL Free Agency. A lot of news going down, probably a lot more news before we even finish this episode and end of Wednesday. But yeah, the NFL Free Agency and Trade, season is officially upon us and some notables. Malik Willis, quarterback, signing with the dolphins, three-year, 67.5 million. In another life, I want to be a quarterback, man. They make
Starting point is 01:10:06 silly money. You've said before that they make a little too much money. They make silly money, but they also have giants chasing them. Yeah, that's true. That means, though, that Tua is on the way out. He's signing with Atlanta, which is interesting. The Falcons. Could be the Falcons starting quarterback next year. where Atlanta is at this point. He's had a lot of concussions, man. Yeah, that's true. I think he should retire. Do you know where Atlanta is?
Starting point is 01:10:32 No. You've had one too many concussions yourself, Gare. Yeah. I tell you, he definitely doesn't know where Atlanta is, and that's Jackson. He doesn't even know Dallas is in the central time zone, which is crazy. Yeah, I don't think you would understand
Starting point is 01:10:44 daylight savings either. I mean, he didn't know time zones. I mean, it's one of those things. Oh, that's calculus. The good news is the phone, changes for you. That's a good point. But you know what doesn't change is our workout clock on the wall.
Starting point is 01:10:59 I kind of threw me this morning when I was working out. That was a little flex to tell people I work out. That's smart. It's good. I needed to get that in there. Make sure people know I'm taking care of myself trying to at least. Kyler Murray. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:10 Most likely going to the Vikings I'm hearing. That's not my sources. Actually, honestly, that's a good, that would be a good move. Well, it's just, it's, uh, McCarthy needs. Sure. some leadership. I do think Kyler's a good quarterback. It's all health dependent for him, right?
Starting point is 01:11:28 When he's healthy, he can play. It is. It is because we mentioned during football season when teams that were a quarterback away from being really, really, really competitive, Vikings start right there with Minnesota. So a good chance for Kyler. I think that's a good match where the Vikings need him
Starting point is 01:11:43 and he needs the Vikings. So that could be a match made in heaven. The one that surprised me most was this morning was the Kenneth Walker. Yeah, from Super Bowl. to a new destination. That was, yeah, MVP to... Just goes to show you how the NFL running back is set up to fail.
Starting point is 01:12:01 They don't make much money, and he's going to get his bag wise. Positional weakness, though, for... For Casey. It makes sense, man. It does make sense. And you got, you know, Travis Kelsey confirming he's not getting married to Taylor Swift anytime soon. Whoa, is that true? Oh, sorry, he's coming back for another season.
Starting point is 01:12:18 Oh, is that a better way of saying that? football and be married? I just think, you know... You can't do both effectively. Yeah, you know, it's hard to keep a good marriage and a good, and a good tight-in. Workout regimen. I mean, dude, it's like... It's because of her schedule and she's the one that's running it. Not him.
Starting point is 01:12:35 I never thought of that, but now that you say that she could be... That could be her announcing a big... A big tour. A big tour. You heard it here first. He was like, yeah, I'm going back to play some football, dude. I got to get out of the house. So he's back for at least one more. That's big news. Dude, Evan's signing with the 49ers. Mike Evans.
Starting point is 01:12:50 Man, that's going to be weird not seeing him into Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jersey. I'll tell you that much. That's so weird. What an upgrade, dude. I mean, no offense to Tampa Bay, dude. Probably a beautiful place to live, but I'm a Bay area guy. Grew up there, beautiful weather. He's really getting an upgrade as far as the living conditions go.
Starting point is 01:13:11 And upgrading team. It's at this point in the career for a guy like Mike Evans, who's a decade deep. You're at this point, you're chasing titles if you're Mike Evans. I totally get that move. He's a year-to-year guy at this point. Well, he's won a title. Yeah, yeah, I mean, there's another one. At this point, you're re-signing in Tampa
Starting point is 01:13:26 doesn't make a lot of sense, is my point. Yeah. Ooh, there's one more thing we've got to bring up. My boy, Dak, the breakup. Does that mean he's going to be better next season? That's a good question. Yeah. How do you feel?
Starting point is 01:13:40 Cowboys Q1, going through a breakup. They happen to the best of us. Is this going to bring out the best in Dak? Because I already planned my whole Valentine's Day next year about going to the Super Bowl. Super Bowl and watching the Cowboys lift in Lombardi. Should I cancel those plans? No, he might be chasing that ring now.
Starting point is 01:13:55 But in this other one. Chasing rings on and off the field, okay. I like it, Kelsey. I like it. Well, greatly appreciate you being on. Thanks, guys. You know, telling the world that you hate Miami, Ohio. Man. No.
Starting point is 01:14:08 Is it like an Oxford, Ohio thing? No, I just want... The Midwest in general. Better competition. There's a lot more that you can go into there, but we'll talk off. Just take it easy on her internet. I know it's going to be... you know, it was it was like a baseball on a tea that she gave you guys.
Starting point is 01:14:25 But, you know, take it easy on her. Yeah, take it easy. Like I said, please just no Cinderella's on my Florida Gators. That's all I ask. Well, I think you wish that upon yourself. I don't think, I think for you. You're asking for it, girl. Yeah, you're asking for it.
Starting point is 01:14:39 You're asking for that 16 seed to give you guys a game, get that heart rate about 150. Yeah. It'll probably be that way, no matter what. They have a way of doing that. Well, we can't wait. Our brackets surely will be busted, but next week we'll dive in. We'll fill out a live bracket, and we'll get all our college basketball fix.
Starting point is 01:14:55 Love it. You guys. You guys know where Kelsey's going on Florida all the way. Right over left. Right over left. Did it last year, guys. Everybody, Kelsey Morris. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:03 I'm going to give you a little gator chop. Yeah. Tell your boss that we said sorry for holding you past your meeting. All good. Yeah. I apologize. And while you're out there, go ahead and tell Cody we're good for him. Yeah.

Starting point is 01:17:42 And I didn't see as many comments I thought I was going to see. I didn't either. But that ovation was telling. Like, Jared really got into his clap. I didn't even get that on my six-year Annie. That's good. That's insane. Do you have any announcements?
Starting point is 01:17:54 It says announcements, so. I got none. I got pregnant. Okay. That's good to know. If you haven't heard already, Operation Trickshot, the first book as part of the Dude Perfect book series is out. Pre-order. Hit that bad boy, May 12th.
Starting point is 01:18:08 You're going to want it. Have you read it yet? I've not read the book. I've read the manuscript. Whoa. That confused me for a bit. So you have read the book. I started to read it.
Starting point is 01:18:18 Oh, you didn't finish it? No. All endings actually pretty good. I'm not going to spoil it for you. I will give the listeners a little bit of a... I don't even know if I'm allowed to do this. Oh, easy. But I'm going to give them a little taste up.
Starting point is 01:18:28 Something. No teaser. Your boy might be the main character of the book, too. Who? Who's your boy? Me. Oh, I thought, I thought it's early to get me main character status.
Starting point is 01:18:38 Yeah, dude. No, yeah, not you, me. What's the title? I don't know the title yet, dude, but I think it's going to be based around some soccer play. Oh, man, book sales are down. Yeah, I don't know if book sales are down and they're just, you know, they're like throwing in the towel or what, but.
Starting point is 01:18:51 Here's the main guy. I heard, I heard, uh, give me the shot. They're giving me the shot. They're giving me the shot. So, uh, that'll be good. Any other announcements? Book. Comes out May 12th.
Starting point is 01:19:03 Pre-order it now. Yeah, tour. Jump on those tickets as well. They're selling like hotcakes. Which I don't know if hotcakes actually sell that well. I've never really bought a hotcake. They're selling like popcorn at a cinema. I have petitioned this already, but if you, your dad are a, uh, PT, massage guy, anybody.
Starting point is 01:19:23 We're coming to a city near you. Maybe hit me up. I'm going to need it. I'm trying to find. what you just said. If we come to a city near you. On tour. On tour, like, I do. And you're a physical therapist. Or even like just a masseuse. A chiropractor, a masseuse. Any of the above? Garrets available. I need help. I'm old. I'm broken. I'm willing to pay. I mean, dude, I missed the whole episode because I, you know, my eye,
Starting point is 01:19:45 I mean, dude, I'm falling apart, bro. Does it worry you at all that when you show up at that venue and there's a line of 10 people ready to... No, I'm going to be like, dude, to lay hands on you. I'm going to be awkward. The army of the almost athletes is just impressive. There's just like 10 chiropractors. I might get adjusted by all 10. That's nice. I like that. I'll watch. I'll massage you, brother. You all are nuts. And by my, I mean my Therrigan,
Starting point is 01:20:08 I'll travel with it. Have we released who we're going up against you? Not quite. Are we still in the announcements? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it is. Uh, you got nothing. No? Anything else? I think and my announcement is that the announcements are now over. All right, cool. Well, this segment is brought to you by DoorDash when life gets crazy.
Starting point is 01:20:24 DoorDash helps bring a little order to it. When the announcements get crazy, DoorDash helps ring a little order to it too. You are the king of DoorDash, so I wanted to steal your thunder on that. But it's time for voicemails. That's why you're here. You requested it. I did. So let's get into it.
Starting point is 01:20:38 Before, just a simple reminder, send us a voicemail with your questions, hot takes. Family arguments you want us to settle or anything else, 972-805-8-8-66. What about announcements? Could they send an announcement? I'm not good at settling internal arguments like we're about to have me and you. if you keep on bringing the announcements, dude, it's a part of the show. But I am good at fixing your family argument. So just send them in.
Starting point is 01:21:03 Let's get the voice my one though. Are you talking to me or the people? I think both. Both. I'm not good at settling family arguments, but I'm here for it. Play it, J.B. Hey, do perfect. This is Paige from Spanish Work, Utah, and I was hoping that you can help settle our family
Starting point is 01:21:17 argument that we've been having. On cue. So in our family, we play a game where you sort foods into three different categories. soup, salad, or sandwich. For example, cereal would definitely be soup. But when it comes to pizza, me and my sister cannot agree on what it is. I think it's a sandwich, but she thinks it's a salad.
Starting point is 01:21:37 Let us know what you think and what you guys say will be the right answer in our house. Thanks, bye. This is very, very simple argument. You want to handle this one? Yeah, it's definitely a sandwich. 100%. And why?
Starting point is 01:21:50 Because if you fold it, it's a sandwich. Or if you just eat it and put another one on top, it's a sandwich. but if you put it in a salad, yes, I get it. Some people order a veggie supreme. That doesn't make the whole thing a salad. No, because you eat salad to be healthy. Oh, you go on that row.
Starting point is 01:22:03 You eat salads to like, no, but like there's no bread, like maybe a crouton here and there, but like, dude, yeah, you have bread. You have bread and fold it. I don't like that game. That doesn't. That's actually a really good game. Never thought of it as pizza as a sandwich.
Starting point is 01:22:17 Why are we calling them pizza shops anymore? I would have gotten so much more pizza if I convinced my mom that pizza was a sandwich. Yeah, good point, Garrett. But salad is open face, and it's like in layers, right? Open things. There's no base layer to a salad. It's all making a day to a salad.
Starting point is 01:22:33 The salad is open face. I'll say that. Here's the way I look at this page. If Sparky was settling this, you've got one really good family life. Because if this is what we're caught up on is if pizza is a soup, salad or sandwich. That's a family privilege. Because those weren't my family arguments. We weren't talking soup salad or sandwich.
Starting point is 01:22:49 You were like, which soup of Campbell's are we going to have? Mushroom of mushroom? Yeah, which chicken noodle. But to each of their own, I respect that, but it's a sandwich. It's a sandwich. Like a roll of sushi would be a sandwich, right? A roll of sushi? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:01 Would be a salad. Yeah, I would say salad on that. Salad? Yeah. For sure. As opposed to sandwich. It's crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:08 It's encapsulated in starch like a sandwich is, right? Yeah. Roll sushi. But that's more of a salad to you. It's crazy. What about ice cream with Reese's on top? Soup. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:19 Really? That's a soup. But you just said there's a layering system here for your salad. We're missing a category is really what the thing is. What is soup, salad, sandwich, and bar food. And sweet or something. Yeah, I agree with that. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:31 I was like, get off that one. I'm sorry, Paige. I'm not a fan of the question. You got yourself a good family. Too limiting. Keep them tight. And we're over here arguing the wrong things in our house. Next.
Starting point is 01:23:41 Hi, my name is Evangeline. And I have a question. Is the handler for a dog show an athlete? This is a good question. Okay, thank you. Bye. This is a good question. Quick exit there.
Starting point is 01:23:53 Is she talking about the Westermeyer dog show? And this is a Thanksgiving thing, the dog show? Yeah, it's on like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day for a day, isn't it? The Westminster Dog Show? I've never owned a dog. So that's different than this. This is like the aerobatics and the Frisbee stuff. They have this at the dog show.
Starting point is 01:24:09 But the dog show where you like walk your poodle around, you have to go at a certain pace. Tyler did this, Tyler did this with me in season two of our TV show on Nickelodeon. And I'm telling you after a day of dog training, I was sore the next day. From what? Just walking it off? The way you have to speedwalk and, like, hold your shoulders up. We kept getting in trouble. Think about the dog.
Starting point is 01:24:26 It's intense. Think how sore the dog would be. I think they're athletes. These ones are definitely the ones that zigzagged through the polls. I spent like a good four hours out back with my dog Nipsey. Realized she never had a chance. Really cool. That takes one obedient dog.
Starting point is 01:24:39 I'm not even that obedient to memorize that course. So they're athletes. Yeah, yeah. Really? I would say the people who walk the dogs in like the Westminster dog show, not athletes. I mean, those people who are training their dog. They're almost athletes. Yeah, dude, I mean, we can't bodybag curling and then say that these guys are...
Starting point is 01:24:58 They're doing more than curlers. Dude, I think, look, I mean, you got to stand your ground here. Here's it all say, though. This is a hot take. I think what that lady's doing is physically more exerting than baseball, the whole sport. That is a crazy... I'm serious. You can play five games in a day and you never get sweaty.
Starting point is 01:25:15 Yeah, if you don't hit the baseball and have to run to first. You only hit it once every third at bat. Well, if you're Cody Jones. That's Hall of Flame numbers. Let's see you do this then with Catboy. He did. He did. I've seen it with my own eyes.
Starting point is 01:25:26 I did with Trooper, rest and peace troop. Love you, buddy. Good dog. I just can't get on board with this. It's not an athlete. I agree. And sub-question is, is a jockey an athlete. And no.
Starting point is 01:25:38 No, it's not an athlete. Because we literally just did this to the Winter Olympics. And it was like, courage and athlete are not the same thing. Me, like, jumping off a huge ramp. and putting my skis up and just sitting there, that's courage. Yeah, and like if I got to ride C Biscuit, I think I'd be top three.
Starting point is 01:25:59 No, no, you're too heavy, man. No, you're way too heavy, right. You do think it's a weight thing. You don't have a jockey build. No, you got to be like 4 foot six and like 125, maybe 115 pounds. You're so excited with your numbers. Yeah, dude, well, I know.
Starting point is 01:26:13 Jockeys, I mean, I've done some research. I tried to be one. They were like, dude, you're too fat. Yeah, anything over like a buck 25. It's a welterway. It's a lightweight division. You two are the nuts. So no, jockey's not an athlete, dog handlers are not athletes, and I am not an athlete.
Starting point is 01:26:30 That's crazy. Almost. I'm an almost athlete. I just think the guy who rode rich strike don't know his name. That's an athlete, dude. The way he took him down the back stretch. I mean, it's the greatest upset in sport, and y'all are just acting like he's not an athlete. No, miracle and ice is, but it's fine.
Starting point is 01:26:44 Or what USA just did Canada, one of the two. Go rewatch the 2022 Kentucky Derby. Because you obviously didn't, your eyes weren't open. Is that the one of your hat? It's so good. Scratch Cornea. I was there, don't you remember. Couldn't see past Kristen's hat.
Starting point is 01:26:59 A lot of hats, yeah. Are the people that wear the hats athlete? I mean, what are we going to these days? The dress-up does take quite a bit of physical exertion there. All right, next question. Hey, dudes. This is Chase Walker from Blanning, Utah. I got a question specifically for gear here.
Starting point is 01:27:14 I know you're a big bald guy, but if you could rock one hairstyle, what would it be? Let's see it. What he got? What was his name? Big bald guy. Show us the big bald guy. Yeah. First of all, why do you have to put... Is that an adjective big?
Starting point is 01:27:27 I get those wrong all the time. Why didn't you lump sparks in there? Would that be an adjective big? Because we're still... Yeah, yeah, correct. My greens are dried out. Hey, after I just said I was really smart, I don't know why you had to put big in there.
Starting point is 01:27:39 You could have just said bald. You're the big bold guy. Yeah, that seems ridiculous to put in front. But it's fine. My hair style would be bald. I'd pick boldness. Oh, that's what they all say. Bro.
Starting point is 01:27:49 Dude. I get it. No, I just kidding, man. I do a good European soccer hairstyle. That's the thing, Cody. I just don't know if it fits the shape of my head, though. I think the shape of my head was just meant to be bald. It's probably true.
Starting point is 01:28:01 It's just too big, dude. No hairstyle, like looks cool. I like Pony G. No, dude. With the pony. Pony G was a good look, man. You looked like a rock star, man. Maybe we can throw, if you're watching it.
Starting point is 01:28:12 Maybe we can throw some AI images of me with some different hairstyles on the screen. Who, put Kobe's hair on you. No, I don't want Kobe's hair, that's for sure. I still look at Kobe. I'm like, what is he doing? I think somehow we need to figure out a way to make you grow your hair out for a year and just take a look at you. I can't do that. Dude, that's so good.
Starting point is 01:28:29 The whole fertilizer down. Well, no, he has hair here. It's great. I got that's over on wash playing to the Washington. I got the sidelines covered, dude. The sideline to side to play is just. The end zone is open. Yeah, the field of play is just wide open.
Starting point is 01:28:43 It's scalped. It's scalped. Like a good NFL linebacker. You go sideline to side line with it. It's proper by you. Good question. But yeah, dude, I don't know. A European soccer hair.
Starting point is 01:28:54 Andre Agassi? Maybe David Beckham. I always thought he was like, good-looking dude. Still is. Mm-hmm. I can see you with a Brock Lesnar, just so low stripe down the middle. Ah, it looked too much like Chuck Ladell or... Nah.
Starting point is 01:29:08 Cornrose? Some dreads? He's definitely thought about this stuff. That'd be cool. Yeah, some dreads on gear. That'd be sick, dude. Comment below what hair you want to see together with. Purple dreads on gear.
Starting point is 01:29:19 Purple dreads would be sick. Next. Hey dudes, my name is William and I'm from Tennessee. And my question is, if you had to switch lights with any other members, you'd perfect, for one day, who would it be and why? Ooh, one day. Just one day? It really is dependent on the day. I'm going to go crazy here.
Starting point is 01:29:36 I'm going to go crazier. I'll let you go first. I'm going to assume it's a film day because that's what most people see. And if it's a film day, I would love to switch lives with my very own Garrett, the Purple Hoser himself, because the guy is chasing for third place. And a third place is a victory, which takes all the pressure off. Sure. I'd love to be him.
Starting point is 01:29:52 Be done by 2 o'clock that day and get home. I'm going to go a little bit crazier. I'm going to go a little bit crazier. We got other talent than the five guys. Oh. And you know what? I've always wanted to feel like what it would be to just be kind of, I don't want to be derogative here,
Starting point is 01:30:05 but just kind of like not aware of situations. Just kind of live life like, you know, you're there. You have no idea what you're doing the next five seconds. And that's Jackson. Yeah. Jen's ear, he says the craziest things. I don't even know how he comes up with this stuff.
Starting point is 01:30:20 He does dance it all the time, which I do. I'm a little jealous, dude. He knows how to, you know. He's also got hair. And Jackson does have hair. Good flow. And he's young. But if I had to switch lives with a guy, probably tie.
Starting point is 01:30:32 He can shoot really well. Shoot what. Rifles, that is. He's precise, man. He just, I like the, I don't like the. You'd go shoot guns. Yeah, like just any, he's good at anything, dude. Fly fishing to bowling.
Starting point is 01:30:44 He's probably great at shuffleboard. No. He's good at everything. Right. What would it be like to be good at just across the board everything? To not be an almost athlete, but to be an athlete. Yeah, I don't know if time's an athlete. You know, I think he might be just almost almost athlete.
Starting point is 01:30:58 I've got one, but it's more of a twist. I would be Ryan Britton, aka Brother Nature, just to know how he operates. Yeah, that was my thought with Jackson did. How he starts his day? Yeah, I just want to go 24 hours as Britain, so hopefully I better understand who he is. Start his day off with a bowl of nails. Yeah. With a bowl of it.
Starting point is 01:31:16 I see, that's a good pick. Ryan Britton, Jackson. Those guys just like, how do you get to the next decision? It'd be interesting to know. Yeah. It's a good question. Ross Wagon from Arcana, Ohio. What do you guys is top five little Debbie snack?
Starting point is 01:31:31 I don't even know. Top five? That's bad, dear. Number one, Swiss cake rolls. Number two, zebra cakes. Number three, nutter butter. Number four, ding don'ts. Number five Twinkies, original.
Starting point is 01:31:41 You just ripped off five little Debs in less than five seconds. That might be my number one. A little Debbie snack. is my guilty pleasure. Did you put the Christmas trees in there? Dude, you didn't put zebra cakes? I did, it's number two. Oh, yeah, I agree to that.
Starting point is 01:31:53 What about H buns? Oh, honey buns? No, I think. It's not of my top five. Dude, a warmed-up honey bunn is incredible. I agree, but I don't have a microwave. That's bad. It's got to be room-timp.
Starting point is 01:32:03 Swiss cake roll number one for me. I'll nix two right off the bat. I love a good pecan sanity. Sigbar can go. Marshmilla pie. See you later. Truffle brownie. Buy.
Starting point is 01:32:13 Big bars? Yeah, that's the Cleveland. I will say, you want to know? Dude, Roger, you know, Kristen's dad, dude, he loves to jelly creams, man. He brings those to my house all the time, dude. That's for the old school crowd. Those are dying off. Chocolate chip cookie stuff?
Starting point is 01:32:26 Where's that, man? Dude, the donut sticks have to be added on there. I could be down a box. Do your own five. Why are y'all making fun of mine? Because you actually added a really good surprising five there. Omeal cream pies also on my honorable mention. And cosmic brownies, even though I'm not the biggest chocolate lover.
Starting point is 01:32:41 It's so dense. It's a dentsy. Zebra cakes, cosmic brownies. I love a nutty buddy. That's a phenomenal question. I'll tell you what. Can I go two Z-per cakes? Because they're that good.
Starting point is 01:32:52 Yeah, you double down on the Z cakes. Honey buns and then, yeah, I like an oatmeal cream pie. I need that without a board, by the way. I got to ask. Is oatmeal cream pie a salad or a sandwich? That's sandwich. That is a sandwich. What about a brownie?
Starting point is 01:33:09 Sandwich. Is it? Yeah. Whoa. That's our two-minute warning. We can add that in post. by the way. Yeah, we don't know that. Oh, then you wouldn't get the reaction.
Starting point is 01:33:19 Two minute warning. We've kind of spoke on it, but I got a little rant. We've kind of talked about it. Really? Yeah. Buds rounds. It's Cody Jones. No, I'm kidding. Oh, that'd be so good. Cody Jones. Daylight savings time, man. Oh, what an atrocious activity. It's just ridiculous, and I need our nation
Starting point is 01:33:35 to rise up. Yeah, come together. Come together, and let's get daylight savings time banned. Who doesn't do it? It's Arizona. Arizona? Alaska? Yeah, messed up. my chill last night. The last two days of my life have just been just, they've just been off. It's like I went to New Zealand and back for no reason. It's just, it's unacceptable. It always comes like at an inoperable weekend too. And I was catching up on sleep and then all of a sudden I was like,
Starting point is 01:34:00 man, you lose an hour? Don't take that hour for me. Take an hour of my life. An hour of my life. Back in the day, you would have to go change your clocks and now the iPhone automatically update so you don't even know that you lost it. You're just like, I'm a little groggy day. Oh, there's kids out there have no idea they lost an hour. Isn't that sad? We did prank Corey. I think we might have told this story before, but we prank Corey in college
Starting point is 01:34:21 because he couldn't read like an analog or clock. That's crazy. And back in the day, daylight savings time came. We like didn't. And yeah, he was late to everything. Got him. A standard issue clock. That's embarrassing.
Starting point is 01:34:35 Yeah, I just think we need to get rid of it. Daylight savings time. Oh, got you. Daylight savings time. Oh, dude, I feel for Corey, man. I feel for him. You do? Yeah, dude, being a twin is got to be tough.
Starting point is 01:34:49 He loves it. And then when you're the second twin, mm-hmm. That's just, dude. A second twin who doesn't know how to deal with daylight savings time? I need a zebra cake. Can we wrap this up? Yeah, we're so hungry for some little debutses.
Starting point is 01:34:59 Any more announcements? Yeah, I got one more announcement, dude. We're going on tour. Had a baby. There's a book. But our time's up. Yeah, it is. Thank you, Coach.
