Hey there, friends.
Today's episode is brought to you in partnership with Lafwick Studio, but more on that later.
I just wanted to say that I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.
Today is going pretty well.
Also, I wanted to say thank you to everybody.
Last episode, I made a comment that things were a little rough right now.
They still kind of are.
It's just a personal processing of a situation that I'm not going to get in details, obviously, it's personal life.
But it's just personal processing of a situation that's rough to process, is all.
So, um, I will be okay.
And I genuinely appreciate all of the kind words and love and support that people left in their comments.
So thank you again.
Today we have some unexplained and parallel universe stories, some really bizarre and strange stories for you today.
Hopefully you enjoy them.
And again, there will be an ad read later on.
Uh, I will timestamp it.
Do give it a shot, though.
Um, it's not like, uh, they paid me to do this.
This is actually a partnership.
This was something he approached me with, I agreed with, I designed things.
It's a partnership, it's not a, like, a sponsorship, so just give it a shot.
Anyways, I'm going to hush and say, enjoy the stories.
This is something that happened to me when I was younger, and my family and I still have no solid explanation for it.
At the time, I was 14 years old and lived at home with my parents, my older sister, and my younger brother.
It was Friday.
I remember that because it was part of the reason I ended up the way I did that night.
I wanted to go stay at my friend's house for the weekend,
and my mom had told me that she would think about it.
Because of an event that was happening on Saturday,
my mom wanted me to be home.
I was asking her daily because I really wanted to go over there
and watch some show with my friend.
We didn't have cable, but my friend did,
and we wanted to watch the show together.
On Thursday, my mom finally told me that I could,
but I would have to be home early on Saturday,
and I agreed with the compromise.
However, as my mom made dinner on Friday,
she kept delaying taking me over there.
It was the normal parent things.
I have to make dinner first,
you need to do your homework first, and so forth.
So, I packed up my backpack with clothes and stuff that I wanted to bring,
and then inhaled my dinner.
I remember waiting in the living room with my bag
until my mom finally told me that she didn't want me to go.
I was mad.
She had told me that I could go and delayed it so long,
and now she was telling me I couldn't go.
I don't remember what all she said for her reasoning,
because I was just angry.
She told me she was sorry and that I could go over there the next weekend,
but it didn't matter to me at the time.
I was a dramatic pre-teen girl and my mom had just ruined my weekend.
I told my mom as such and ran to my bedroom locking myself in and everyone else out.
In my bedroom, I was pretty upset.
I did whatever I could to calm down.
I played music, I drew, I did my makeup and ignored anyone that came to my door.
Sometimes when I was upset, I would let my little sister in, but,
When she knocked that night, I told her to go away.
Later that night, I ended up falling asleep with the TV and the light on.
I'd be making a bracelet on my bed when I started getting tired and apparently fell asleep like that.
I remember because I went to roll over and I snapped the container shut and just shoved it on to the floor,
not bothering to get back up to turn off the light.
Sometime late that evening, I would wake up again.
This time, it was being.
because our cat Milo was growling.
It woke me up because
Milo never growled.
He was a very sweet cat and didn't
know the definition of enemy.
He even got along
with our big bully dog, who
loved to play.
When I heard the soft growl,
I slowly cracked open my eyes
and I saw him standing, tail straight up,
staring at the now open door.
I'll remind you that I was a kid,
and I was still half asleep,
so I wasn't really thinking about anything
other than getting my cat to calm down
so that I could go back to sleep.
I called out for Milo,
and after barely being able to reach his tail,
he jumped, turned around,
and then jumped up on my bed.
I closed my eyes to try to fall back asleep
when I started feeling Milo pawing at the blanket.
This wasn't like him needing it,
like he would do,
but actually using claws and pulling
the blanket back.
It made me open my eyes again
because of how weird it was.
I moved the blanket
back and after a few seconds of him
sticking his head under the blanket,
he looked back toward the door and then dashed
under the blanket.
Again, this was very weird behavior.
He hated
being covered up like that.
He loved pets and affection
but didn't really like being
confined or held.
But there he was.
lying under the blanket with me, and when I went to pet him,
I realized he was shaking, like he was cold or scared.
At the time, I didn't know the cats shook like that,
and it made me think that something was wrong with him.
I looked back at the door, remembering the growling as what started all this,
and there in the dark doorway was a very tall figure.
It was so tall that its head was tilted to the side.
I couldn't make out any other details because it was so dark.
The lights were off in my room and in the hallway.
I could only just make out the shape of it.
After staring at it for several seconds, I heard a very loud scream.
I can't quite remember if it said something or just yelled,
but I do remember that it made me jump and my heart started racing.
I shoved my head under the blanket with Milo, who had moved further down,
now closer to my knees.
I stayed that way, refusing to get out or do anything until I fell back asleep.
I think I kept telling myself that I must have just been having a nightmare, because nothing
was making sense.
The next morning, I woke up and immediately looked for Milo under the blanket.
He wasn't there, but I pulled the blanket back to the foot of my bed and turned to sit on the edge
of it.
My bracelet kit was still on the floor, so I was still on the floor.
I picked it up to put it away.
And that's when something made me check under the bed.
Sure enough, Milo was under my bed, huddled in the far back corner and he would not come out, no matter what I tried.
I gave up and went to leave my room when I realized my door was closed again.
But the TV and the lights were off.
That's when I remembered the event of that night.
I fell asleep with the light on, and the door closed and locked.
Then I saw the figure with the light and TV off, and the door open.
How was that even possible?
I was thinking it must have been my dad because he was really tall, and maybe he yelled at me
because I was awake, or because he had to figure out how to unlock the door.
But my problem with both of those ideas is that my dad was not that tall.
He is tall, don't get me wrong, but he didn't have to tilt his head anywhere in the house.
Also, our parents really didn't yell at us like that.
We may have gotten in trouble, all of us, and we'd had the stern talks or the middle name drops,
and yeah, we've been hollered at while outside or in a different room,
but they never just yelled at us like that, just to yell.
but those were the only explanations I had.
Nevertheless, it was morning and the prior night was behind me,
so I went to the kitchen to make myself breakfast.
Maybe someone else would have answers.
My dad and little sister were already sitting at the table eating.
They greeted me, and my dad asked me how I slept, and I said, fine.
But then I asked my dad if he had unlocked my door.
And he said no.
I asked if he was sure, and he laughed, and he laughed, and,
said that he was, and that with the way I acted, he felt at best I just stayed in my room anyways.
Fair enough.
My sister told me how she asked my dad to unlock it because I wouldn't let her in, and he told her no.
I didn't say anything else until my mom came into the kitchen.
I asked her if she had unlocked my door, and she basically told me the same thing.
That's when I told them what happened.
I told them how my light and TV had been turned off,
and the door was open.
I told them about the strange figure and the scream.
They all said that they hadn't heard any screaming, which they definitely would have.
My parents both said that it was probably just a nightmare.
But then I mentioned how Milo was acting.
They agreed it was weird, and even confirmed that Milo had been in the living room with them that night.
He did not come into the room with me.
Yet there he was.
in my room under the bed.
I will remind you that I woke up with my door still locked.
My lights do not have some kind of timer on them to turn them off, nor did the TV.
It was an old tube TV at the time.
I woke up many days with it still on because I had forgotten to turn it off.
And before anyone mentions my older brother, I knew he didn't unlock my door because he was shorter than my dad,
and he never tried to get into my room.
He also didn't like people coming into his room, so it was kind of a truce that we had.
My parents think I probably got up to use the bathroom or something and just left the door unlocked or maybe relocked it later.
They think that I also probably turned off the light and TV at that point, too, and in between there, Milo entered my room.
I just dropped it, because I was not getting anywhere with them.
They had so many ideas, but none of them really made sense.
I know that I didn't get up at all that night.
I was still in my clothes from Friday,
and if I had gone to the restroom, I would have put something else on.
I didn't normally like sleeping in jeans,
but I apparently was really tired that night,
hence the reason that I didn't even get up to turn everything off.
And based on their explanation,
I would have gotten up and at least unlocked and opened the door,
then went back to bed to see the shadow figure,
and then got back up to lock the door again.
And at some point in the middle, I would have turned off the TV and the lights.
It didn't really make sense.
I didn't get out of bed until that morning.
And on top of it all, why was Milo acting the way he was?
There was no reason for him to be hiding under my bed terrified.
Thankfully, he came out later that day and went back to his normal affection itself,
but I still had no answers.
Years later, my dad says that he vaguely remembers this event, but my mom doesn't remember it at all.
And to this day, I don't know what I experienced that night, but I am thankful that it never happened again.
I'm afraid of what could have happened if I was more willing to get up and approach that figure.
Hello, Raven, and hello to your listeners, if you decide to use this story.
I'm sending this in because I don't really know where else to talk about it.
I felt like it was right up your alley,
very much a story that would fit in with the others that you've read,
and I'm hoping maybe somebody will have some insight.
This happened to me a couple of days ago,
and I'm genuinely confused about all of it.
To give a little bit of quick background,
for a few weeks that were leading up to this event,
my sleep schedule was completely trashed.
I've been dealing with a lot of insomnia, like a really bad I physically cannot sleep level of restlessness.
I would stay up for most the night only to hit a brick wall near dawn, and the crashes would only last for about an hour.
Then I would wake up and feel even more exhausted.
Before anyone asks, yes, I was planning on making an appointment to see my doctor about this, but my primary care is notoriously hard to get.
get an appointment with, and I don't like to deal with new people when it comes to my health,
because it's just a whole thing. So, a bit more than a week or so ago, I finally managed to pass
out at six in the morning. Within the hour, my sister and my mom were out in the hallway making
way too much noise. I think they got into an argument or something, and they managed to wake me up.
This is where things got really weird.
The exact moment that I opened my eyes, I felt this weird sensation.
I'm honestly struggling with how to describe it, but I think I do have a good way to explain it.
Have you ever shifted your leg and your knee or hip is going to pop, but it's not quite there?
Like the pressure slowly builds up right before it releases into that satisfying point.
popping. It was like that, but inside my head. It was like my skull needed to pop. That's about the only
way I can tell you what I really felt. But then it happened. I felt that pop, and then I had this
feeling that I was literally dying. I don't mean that I was in pain or whatever. I mean my brain
said, your time is up. I started feeling like everything was
shutting down, and that the world around me was literally fading out of existence.
Part of me wanted to yell out to my mom, but I physically could not.
I couldn't make any sound other than a slight raspy breathing.
And then everything just sort of stopped.
I know this sounds crazy, but it was just empty.
It almost felt like sleeping, but it just felt, I don't know, eternal.
Like it was an empty vastness where I could feel myself not existing.
I don't know if I was experiencing the void, the other side, something.
Writing this out, it sounds stupid to me,
because it sounds like I'm mental and talking about sleeping,
but it wasn't that.
And I really am desperate to better say what it was.
It was this eternal emptiness that went on for infinity in literally every direction.
and while I was somewhat conscious of it, I wasn't conscious at all.
And while I don't know how long I was in that eternal darkness,
I know that it was a finite amount of time.
Because I eventually felt that pressure about to pop feeling again,
and I know it sounds weird because it was where my head should have been,
but I didn't feel like I had a head.
Like I was not a physical being,
but where my thoughts were coming from is where the pressure built up.
But this time, when it finally popped, I was standing in my bathroom, staring at myself in the mirror.
I had my toothbrush in my hand, the sink was on, my eyes were open and I was just standing there staring at myself like this moment had already been happening.
I had zero recollection of getting up and getting out of bed, going to the bathroom, doing literally any,
anything I would have done prior to that second.
I put my toothbrush away and turned off the sink, and then walked out into the living room
to find my family all there, doing normal morning routine stuff.
Nothing was off at all.
Every single thing was normal.
I asked my mom if I had seemed off that morning, but she told me no, that I seemed normal when
she woke me up.
made it even stranger. She had apparently come in to wake me up that morning, meaning that we had
interacted during a time where I was not consciously here. Part of me thinks that it could have been
some sort of dissociative episode, but to the best of my knowledge, I'm physically fine. Maybe it could
have been the lack of sleep, but that's kind of another oddity from this event. After this happened,
my insomnia completely dissipated. I've had zero issues falling asleep. I sleep a normal amount,
and I wake up feeling refreshed. I've had no other events of this weird darkness,
that pressure, or any level of dissociation. Nothing like any of this has happened since then.
Now, could it happen again? Sure. But in the few days since that morning, it's
all been normal.
I keep wanting to tell myself that it was just a really, really vivid dream or like a weird
sleep paralysis episode because of how tired I was.
But it felt so concrete that I can't help but think that something glitched.
I think maybe I had a medical emergency in another reality and woke up in this one,
like a parallel track or a second version where I'm not.
dealing with the insomnia that I was dealing with.
I don't know.
I know it is crazy, but I can't help but think that something really weird happened.
Has anyone else ever had an event like this?
A feeling where you reset or jumped?
I would love to hear it if someone else has, because otherwise, I'm going to genuinely
feel alone in this experience.
But I seriously cannot believe that I am the only one.
So I'm not really sure how to tell this or format it, and I really do apologize if it gets a bit long or confusing, but I need to get this out before I manage to convince myself that I am crazy.
I'm hoping that someone else has a similar experience, or at least can understand the weirdness that I've been feeling for quite a while now.
From the time I was a teenager, to the point that I hit my mid-20s, I was plagued with what I can only call a recurring dream.
It wasn't every single night, but it was frequent enough, maybe a few times a month, but it was enough that it became a regular fixture in my life.
I eventually got used to it, mostly because trying to explain it to my friends or family usually just resulted in them shrugging me off.
Unfortunately, I do have to explain the dream in order to make all this make sense, so I'll try to make it as clear as I can.
The dream was pretty much the exact same at the start.
I would be walking up the long driveway of the apartment complex that I lived in when I was a little kid.
We lived there until I was about nine years old and then moved out.
But each time I had the dream, the complex would be wrong in some way.
Like the hallways would be the wrong color, or the apartments wouldn't be situated correctly.
Or the courtyard would be overgrown with weeds, that kind of thing.
In the dream, all of the doors to the apartments were wide open, while I walked down all the hallways.
I would walk through the apartments and all of them would be empty, or the walls would be cracked and dirty.
They looked pretty much abandoned.
In the dream, it was always so depressing as I entered the apartments because of how empty and desolate they looked.
I was always walking around trying to find my parents or my neighbors, and I always felt this crushing emptiness as I did.
I would run from apartment to apartment, always yelling for somebody, but it was just a ghost town.
Now, the more I looked, the more frantic I obviously got.
And then the dream would start to creep toward its end.
I would run down the main stairs to get out of the building.
I would trip, and would always wake up during the fall.
The dream would always go like this.
It would go as long as I just kept searching, but as soon as I tried to leave, I would always fall and would always wake up shock.
and confused. Those nights sucked. I swear I wouldn't get any rest on those nights, and the next day would be played with fatigue and major migraines.
So, anyways, that was the dream I would have, but it's not the end of the story, obviously.
There was a sudden point when the dream just basically stopped. There wasn't any rhyme or reason. I just noticed at one point that I hadn't had the dream in about a month or so.
It was almost a relief.
I thought that I had managed to break free from whatever repressed trauma I was clearly suppressing
that was causing me to have these terrible dreams of abandonment.
A little over a year went by, no more dreams, not even really thinking about them.
Then, one morning, I saw a new story about the old apartment complex that we lived in.
When I saw the story come on, my ears perked up, and I immediately turned to watch it.
it. Apparently, the foundation of the complex had shifted or something like that because part of it
had sunken in, to the point that the city had condemned it. It had apparently been shuttered prior to
this, bought up by a real estate company, and while they were doing renovations, it was found that
the whole thing was partially in the ground. So, the work had to stop. A few weeks after that story,
I had a date to myself, and I had this weird nagging tug in my first.
mind saying that I needed to head out to the building before it was demolished.
I thought that maybe it was just nostalgia, but also because part of me knew what it would look
like from my dreams.
I parked a few streets over, and I walked up to the fence they put up around the property.
No one was around, so I slipped through a small gap and walked up to the building that we lived in.
As soon as my feet hit the pavement of that front step, my stomach dropped.
I walked in and it looked exactly like it had in my dream.
Empty, old, dirty, cracked.
All the details in front of me matched those details my brain was feeding me in my sleep.
I walked around the apartment building looking at every wall, every nook and cranny, just taking it in.
The silence in the building was deafening.
I went up the stairs to where the apartment that we stayed and was, broke in and looked around,
and it's so hard to explain the feeling in my brain.
It was like a buzzing or an electric hum.
It almost hurt, but it was also exhilarating.
Like, I was physically living out a dream that I had had.
After a while, I decided that I had been trespassing for long enough,
and I wanted to get out of there before police or the owners showed up.
As I went to leave, I stepped on the stairs that led to the front door,
and it hit me that this was the point in the dream where I would stumble, fall, and then wake up.
I almost felt like that was what was going to happen here, that I would trip, hit the ground, and then suddenly be in my bedroom.
Of course, it didn't. This was real. This was the actual building with me actually there.
I promise that this is where things wrap up, and if you've held on this long, I'm sorry that this may have felt a bit disjointed.
When I got home that evening, I was on the phone with my mom, and I kind of casually mentioned to her that I had broken into the old apartment building, telling her about the foundation issues and how it was condemned and all that.
She then hit me with, what apartment?
I was confused.
But I mentioned the street that it was on, mentioned the apartment number.
It went as far as saying that it was the apartment complex that we lived in until I was nine years old.
before we moved to town over into the blue house.
To tell you that this is where my world fell apart would be an understatement.
My mother told me that we never lived in an apartment.
At no point in my childhood did I ever live in this apartment complex
that I vividly remember and consistently dreamed of.
I tried to argue this, telling her about various memories that I had of it,
but it was at this point that I realized that none of my memories were really that detailed.
It was all broad and vague.
Like, we had that party that one time,
but I couldn't recall what the party was for or when it happened.
My mom corrected me that from the time I was born to the age of nine,
the age that I remember moving out of the apartment,
we lived with my grandparents at their house.
My mom's parents did have a nice-sized house, plenty of space for the three of us, and we lived
there for the first nine years of my life, and then we moved into the aforementioned blue
house when they had saved up money to put a down payment on it.
The more that she mentioned it, the more I felt like my memories started to match what
she was saying.
I was able to parse the memories of what happened at my grandparents' house much more clearly
than what I was remembering of the apartment.
Even worse, I questioned out loud
why I would have the dreams about the apartment
if we never lived there.
And my mom said that I had never mentioned
the weird dreams to her.
I had this dream for several years,
and I remember telling her that I kept having it,
and mentioning the apartments.
And yeah, she would shrug me off,
but I told her about it.
But now I just hadn't.
I laughed it off, told her that I was feeling like I was crazy and just moved on from the conversation as best I could, but now here I am.
And it's been a few years at this point.
I haven't had the dreams, but I can remember them.
I can remember the apartment.
I have small memories of living there still, but mostly my childhood memories now all take place in my grandma's house.
There are photos of me as a kid at my grandma's house.
parties, Christmas, etc.
But nothing from the apartment.
Because apparently I never lived there.
So, then why did I have the dreams?
Why did I have the memories?
Why was I drawn to the building with that sense of nostalgia?
Why did I give a damn about the building being torn down?
I have no answers.
And I have a billion questions.
And honestly, it makes me feel.
sick to think of it at all.
I wanted to put this out there, but I think writing this and then listening to your narration
of it will be the final nails in the coffin for me.
I'm going to try and forget all about it, because remembering what almost feels like a
parallel life genuinely terrifies me.
And I want nothing more than to move on and pretend that this existence is the only one.

And now back to the stories.
I had a pretty freaky experience that happened to me in early 2025.
I live in one of the northern states, so the cold and ice are no strangers to us.
However, I still didn't like driving in it.
I was in a bad car accident when I was a kid with my mom.
Someone hit us.
And while I do drive today, I still get a little panicked when a car approaches a stoplight a little too fast.
During the winter, I limit my driving where I can.
Local grocery stores and gas stations, and I often did delivery for groceries to or takeout.
Basically, what I'm trying to get at is if it was winter and I had to take the highway to get to the destination, I just didn't go.
But there was one time I had to leave my comfort zone.
It was for a doctor's appointment at a specific facility that was not in the same city, which meant I would have to take the highway.
I wasn't happy about it, but I told myself that it was a short trip and I would be fine.
my nervousness wasn't crippling.
I want to make that clear.
I can drive without panicking.
I just really prefer not to drive in bad conditions.
I'm sure I'm not the only one whose heart skips a beat
when you skid a bit on the ice or see a car slam their brakes.
So on to the day of the appointment.
I had been talking to my mom about it that morning
and told her that I would let her know what happened when I got back home.
I left my house and made my way to the office.
It would only take me about 20 minutes to get there, but we did have some melt-off the day prior.
However, it being back below freezing, I was expecting some slick spots to be inevitable.
The drive started completely fine.
I had the directions up on my phone, some music playing, as I thought about the other errands that I still had to do that day.
Then, out of nowhere, I realized I had a bit of a soured stomach feeling.
I had just had a muffin for breakfast, not wanting anything too heavy because of the appointment,
and I hadn't even had coffee yet.
I was going to treat myself to one on the way back.
It was annoying, but I just took it for what it was, and that was it.
Then I started getting that feeling of deja vu.
Now, normally I would take these moments with a, huh, that's weird, and then just move on from them.
However, I thought this one was strange because I rarely ever took this highway.
The office I was going to was downtown, and I tried to avoid that area because of how busy it gets.
I think I've been down there as an adult twice, once for my siblings' wedding reception, and once for a business convention.
This visit would be my third, so I was having troubles believing that something actually seemed familiar.
But now I'm pairing that feeling with the nausea, and I start to panic.
With nowhere else to really go, I just keep on driving.
But the sickness continues and gets worse until I feel like I'm going to have a full-on panic attack.
I finally pulled over to the shoulder and rolled down the window to try and catch my breath,
or at least make sure I'm parked if I do pass.
out. That's where things kind of spiraled for me. I stopped there for a few minutes, dry heaved,
and then tried to talk myself down. I seriously thought that I was going to pass out, but thankfully I didn't.
I continued to sit in my parked car for several minutes after I got my breathing regulated to make sure
that I was okay. I was about to call my mom just to talk to her for a bit to calm me down, but I ended up
deciding against it. My mom and I are really close, so she helps me a lot on those bad days.
But before I even put my phone down, I could hear what I assumed was a large vehicle honking.
It was deep and loud, like a large truck, followed by screeching tires and the sound of air brakes.
Until finally, there was a loud, boom.
I couldn't see anything from where I was, but I knew whatever I had just heard was probably bad.
That made the panic start to come back, so I did call my mom and told her what was going on.
I was explaining it so fast that she actually thought that I had been in an accident.
But while I was talking to her, I then heard sirens in the distance.
Talking to her definitely kept me calm and distracted, though, until I felt safe enough to get back on the road.
So we hung up, and I merged back into the lane and tried to keep going.
I didn't get much further, maybe a mile or so downhill, when traffic turned to a complete stop.
I could see some lights and one of those trucks with the arrow lights on the back telling us to merge over.
As we slowly crawled closer to the accident, I realized what I had heard earlier.
A large semi that I saw past me when I was on the shoulder was now on its side with two smashed cars near it.
It was one of those moments where you see an accident like that and think, oh man, that's rough, but then it dawned on me if I hadn't stopped.
I could have been right there in the middle of that.
That semi was behind me earlier on my drive.
If I had kept going, if I had stopped later than I had, or hell, if I tried to push through my panic attack and possibly passed out, I could have been involved in that accident.
Well, cue another panic attack.
I kept my breathing regulated until I was able to exit the highway early.
I couldn't keep going.
I had to stop at a gas station until I was feeling okay, and then I headed back home to reschedule my appointment.
My mom had either seen the crash on the news or read about it, and was telling me that the semi had slid on some ice or something on the road, but they clearly didn't handle it correctly, making the truck.
tip and smash into the other cars.
One of the cars was a couple with their two young children, and the other was an older man.
Everyone survived, but some had extensive injuries.
After talking about it with my mom, she half-joked that it was a good thing I had to stop
because it seemed to have saved me.
That's when I started thinking about the feeling of deja vu I was getting.
I've dealt with mild anxiety attacks before.
and everyone has those moments of deja vu, but the mix of both of them happening right before that accident makes me wonder if it really was related.
Did I somehow know what was going to happen and sent myself into a spiral to get me to stop?
What if something worse happened, if I was involved and it ended up killing me or someone else?
What if me not being in that exact spot is what saved someone's life?
It was a lot to think about, and while I'm thankful the outcome wasn't worse, I still wonder what exactly that was that day.
Now I feel like I need to pay more attention to those moments of remembrance for my own safety.
I recently got married in New York City and stayed in Park Central Hotel in Manhattan.
The night before my wedding, I left mine in my fianc's room around 11 p.m. to bring my mom hairspray that I had packed for her for the trip.
Our room was on the 16th floor, hers was on the 7th.
I rode the elevator, elevator A, down there and chatted and then went on my way.
When I left her room, I walked down the hall and noticed there were elevators, or listed as elevator B, along the wall past the corner I originally
came from.
I thought that was strange because I never noticed them earlier.
The elevator A that I came from was around the corner and down another hallway.
But I figured I would take these since they were closer.
So I went in and went to my floor, number 16.
When I stepped out of elevator B, the hallway was completely different.
The carpet was different colors and pattern.
And the walls were painted.
through a different color. I kept walking toward my room, 602, but when I got there, it was on the
right side of the hallway, when my room was originally on the left. I called my now husband and
told him to open the door and stand outside of our room. He thought I was pranking him, but did it
anyway, and I didn't see him, and he didn't see me. I stayed on the phone with him and decided
to retrace my steps and go back to floor.
floor 7. But once I got into elevator B, the button for 7 wouldn't work. I pressed 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 6, 5, and 4, and none of them were working.
I ended up going to floor 12 and taking the stairs back to 7, then went back to my original elevator,
elevator A, and made it back to my husband. I thought that maybe it was a different part of the hotel,
or connect an apartment complex or something, but why would both elevators be accessible on the same floor with a connecting hallway?
The next morning, my mom took elevator B back and forth from my room to hers, helping me get ready for the day.
So, where did that elevator take me?
Okay, so I'm going to try to write this quickly and keep it fairly succinct, and if I deviate too much,
I apologize.
I love your podcast and the stories that you read,
but I also dislike when they go on so far into left field
that they've left the baseball stadium altogether, if that makes sense.
Anyway, medium-time listener, first-time submitter.
Something happened in my house a few days ago
that has completely shattered my understanding of reality,
and it's making me struggle with my own personal skepticism.
Maybe someone here will have knowledge of timeline collision,
or whatever, because that is the only way I can explain what happened with my wife and I.
This was a completely normal Saturday afternoon.
The two of us were getting ready to drive a few towns over for a get-together with some old friends,
and I was looking for the spare set of car keys.
When we stay anywhere that isn't home, I like to make sure that she has the spare key just in case.
There's nothing worse than locking your keys in the car when you're a two-hour drive from your house.
The spare keys have a very specific and distinct keychain.
It's a brass compass that I bought from a vintage market a few years ago.
It adds some heft to the keys, and it makes it easy to know for certain that they're in your pocket.
I was checking in the bedroom closet, thinking that we had put them in the little decorative basket on the upper shelf for some reason.
I was correct, but I really don't know why we did or why I think.
thought we had. In my attempt to pull the basket down, I managed to move wrong and the basket came
down. I heard the unmistakable thump of the compass hitting the floor, and then I looked down to see
where it landed. I didn't see the keys at first, which I thought was a bit odd, but then I shined my
phone's light behind the dresser, thinking maybe they had bounced behind it from the closet,
and sure enough, they were right there, right in the middle of the floor behind this heavy dresser
with the TV sitting on it.
I initially thought to myself,
now how the hell did they get flung that far over?
But really didn't question it much because they were there, obviously.
I couldn't reach them with my hands, so I defised the obvious plan.
I grabbed one of the wire hangers and I bent it to be a long metal arm with a hook on it.
I struggled a bit, but eventually fished them out from behind the dresser.
Then I tossed them in the hangar over onto the bed.
I went to go get my wife to tell her that I had found them,
but before I could even open the door,
she shoved in with a big smile on her face,
holding the set of spare keys.
She then told me that she found them in the kitchen,
in the junk drawer underneath the microwave.
I stood there staring at her trying to piece together
what exactly had just happened.
She must have realized that I was taken aback because she asked me what was wrong.
I asked her again where she had found them and she said in the kitchen, in the drawer.
I then told her that was impossible because I had just found them,
that I had just spent about five minutes trying to fish them out from behind the dresser.
I then motioned toward the keys on the bed.
Now, some of you may be expecting me to say that those keys were no longer there,
but that's the kicker. They were.
At this point, I grabbed them and the two of us were just staring at these keys
trying to figure out how this was possible.
Both sets of keys were near identical, with some very minor changes.
They both had a copy of the car key, the house key, and the old compass keychain,
but one had a cracked glass face, while the other was pristine.
We kind of just stood there in silence.
trying to get through the awkwardness of the whole thing, mostly because neither of us had an
answer for how we now had two sets of spare keys.
But after a couple of minutes, I made a comment that we needed to go finish getting ready
for the evening, and we could figure out whatever was going on later.
Unfortunately, that really wasn't an option.
We took both sets of spare keys to my friend's house, spent the night there, and then we drove
back the next morning.
Both sets of keys were with us the entire time.
No issues there.
It was when we got home that things got weird again.
When we walked in the door, we both put the extra set of keys on the key hook by the front door.
We were both physically there.
We both physically touched the keyholder hook thing, and we both saw that there were now two sets of keys that were nearly identical, hanging comfortably on the hooks.
I know it sounds stupid, but I want to say that these aren't shouldn't.
shallow little hangers. These hooks are full U-shaped, so the keys sit deep in the bow of the hook,
and there's no way for them to just naturally fall off unless the whole hook somehow broke,
which is why we both jumped when we turned away from the door and heard a loud thump,
as if something heavy had fallen onto the tile floor. As soon as we heard it, we both turned to look at the keys,
and sure enough, there was now only one set, the set that she had found, the set that wasn't cracked.
The second set of keys, the one with a compass that had the cracked face, was completely gone,
as if the key ring had phased right through the hook, then hit the floor and just, poof, vanished.
To add to the strangeness, that hanger that I had used, that I left on the bed when we left,
was also gone.
The basket was comfortably back up on the shelf in the closet,
when I know for a fact that I placed it on the floor next to the dresser.
It was as if my effort to find the keys never took place.
I actually checked the basket again, too,
and it was mostly empty with certainly no keys in it.
So I don't know what this was.
Some level of timeline clashing or parallel universe bleeding or something like that?
For whatever reason, I had those spare keys for about 24 hours total,
and then they faded back into wherever the hell they had come from.
It feels like I took the keys from another existence or another universe,
and then I guess that the universe realized that it needed them back.
I don't know, but I thought I would share this with you because, honestly, I've got nothing.

I want to start this by apologizing if this story is a bit longer, but I promise you the details are going to be important.
I feel like I'm going crazy, and while one of my friends thinks something weird is going on too, my other friend does not, and my boyfriend thinks I'm just misremembering.
But I'm sure that when you hear the details, you'll understand why that doesn't make sense either.
Last month I took a little trip as a group and stayed at this little house near a lake as a quick little getaway.
It was me, my boyfriend Connor, my friend Priya and her boyfriend Adam.
There was nothing spooky about the setup either. It was just a typical Airbnb.
We didn't look for a place that was haunted or to do any ghost hunting or something of the sort.
It was legitimately just a trip away from it all.
The place was a bit secluded, however, but that's what we wanted.
We wanted a place where we would have some privacy, which is why we didn't just go to some random hotel.
It was up against a lake, and it listed that they had paddle boats that could be used as well.
There was a nice tree line that we planned to hike through, and then we would just chill in the house.
We got there on Friday afternoon, unpacked, and settled in, and then we had a normal evening and something.
We grilled, played cards, had a couple beers each, and then we played Monopoly.
We were up until almost one in the morning finishing our Monopoly game.
I did want to make a note here to say that while, yes, we were drinking, none of us were drunk.
We all sipped on two to three beers each, and that took us all evening to drink them.
I know this because we only had a 12-pack, and there were still two left by the time we went to bed.
After we were done, we all went to bed, looking forward to the following day.
Priya and Adam had their own room, and Connor and I were in another.
Saturday was the day the discrepancies began.
It also started as a completely normal day.
We all got up, had some breakfast at the house,
then took about two hours to get ready between showers and deciding what to wear,
and just sitting around talking or deciding what we wanted to really do.
We chose a hike in the late morning.
The four of us went hiking through the trees, as the listing mentioned a trail in there that would lead out to the other side of the lake.
We made the walk, but we never did find a trail.
We did come out to the lake, though, and then we saw some turtles basking near the edge.
We made our way back to the house around 2 p.m. where we stopped to make lunch, and just hung out on the porch, talking while we ate.
This is where things get weird, because that is the last thing that all four of us can agree on,
sitting on the porch in the afternoon.
After lunch, I remember us all being pretty exhausted because it was already hot and very humid,
so we just went in and chilled, until we agreed to go swimming in the lake to cool off.
By the time we were done swimming, we went back to the house to start working on dinner.
I remember Connor was still in his trunks, gathering the food and starting the grill.
Priya and I were sitting on the porch drying off, and Adam went inside to shower.
Connor, Priya and myself were talking as he grilled, when Adam came outside dressed with a confused look on his face.
He looked at his phone and back up at us, and then Connor asked him what was wrong.
Adam looked at us and said, how was it already half past six?
All of us were confused by this statement, but we were all confused for different reasons.
It started with Connor just making a joke about all of our events and the Time Fly's comment.
But Adam stopped and explained how we had just gotten back from hiking.
I was confused and remember saying about how we did hike,
but then how it must have just felt like we swam for so much longer.
Adam said that he'd never swam.
That's when we all looked at him funny.
I'm sure we all thought that he was being weird for not remembering going swimming,
but we all remembered something different.
I explained exactly what I outlined to you guys above.
But Priya said that couldn't be right.
She said after the hike, she had a migraine and went to lie down after lunch,
claiming that she never went swimming with us.
Connor said that we went swimming, but he got out to use the bathroom,
and when he came back, he saw Priya and I walking into the trees and didn't,
know what we were doing. But he had just assumed that we wanted some time to ourselves.
But then he didn't see Adam anywhere and just assumed that he went off to explore on his own.
Then I remember us all being in the water messing around. We all kind of got quiet and thought
over our thoughts. Something was messed up here and we were not remembering things correctly,
clearly.
But to miss parts of memories is different than just having completely different memories.
So, we all took turns and explained what we did that day.
I, of course, explained the same thing.
It stayed in on Friday night, playing games, then went to bed around one.
They all agreed to this.
Saturday we had breakfast and then went hiking.
We came back to have lunch or a snack for,
around an hour. And then we went swimming for a few hours until everyone got out and we started dinner.
Everybody disagreed on this. Priya said after we went hiking, she had that migraine, so she stayed
behind and took a nap in the room. She woke up to Adam checking on her and letting her know that
he was going to shower. She got up and joined us outside, but as we talked about this, she was in her
bathing suit, and she couldn't explain why she had it on. Her suit was also completely dry,
whereas mine was still damp. Connor said that after lunch, we swam for a bit until he went to the
restroom and said he would be back shortly, leaving the three of us in the water. Then, when he came
back, he saw myself and Priya walking into the trees. He said he was going to shout out to us to see what
we were doing, but just decided against it, thinking that we wanted some girl time.
But he said that Adam was nowhere to be found. He didn't see him in the house or anywhere nearby
and just assumed that he was wandering around or maybe he went to use the other bathroom and
didn't hear him enter. Adam recalls us hiking back to have lunch. Then he took a shower after
feeling like bugs were crawling all over him. He said that he recalls a spider or something. He says that he
recalls a spider or something falling on his head, and we helped get it off of him and checked to make
sure there was nothing else on him. He said that he still felt like something was on him, which
prompted him to want to take a shower after we ate. When he got out of the shower, he walked
outside, confused to see us all in our swimsuits and Connor grilling, because we had just had
lunch. That's when he checked the time and realized that he had lost about four hours.
But there was no way that he had taken a four-hour-long shower.
So, all four of us had different recollections of how that night had gone.
Priya was worried that maybe there was something wrong with us,
like carbon monoxide poisoning, but that didn't make sense to us,
because while we all had different memories, there were still similarities.
Also, for the most part, we had spent the entire day outside.
We were also very much conscious at this point,
none of us waking up in rooms with other illnesses or anything other than Priya's migraine.
None of us really knew how to handle this situation.
What could we do with this knowledge?
So Connor decided what he usually did in these intense situations.
Cracked a joke and we all groaned and played it off.
But I could tell by the look on Priya's face that she was still confused and concerned.
We spent the rest of the night in, playing cards again and just talking.
We didn't have any more beer, and at this point in the night, it was late enough that none of us wanted to drive out to get more, so we just enjoyed the Kool-Aid packets and club soda that we had brought along.
So again, no one was under the influence that night, or for the day, for that matter.
On Sunday, we lounged around the house and watched some of the movies they had, until we went swimming.
This time we brought out the water ball I had brought so we could play something, and once we were done, we went back in, cleaned up and packed, and then chilled for a bit, as we decided what to do for a late lunch.
We wanted to find a place to go on this day, since it was the end of our trip.
We found a local restaurant, and after we finished, we set our goodbyes to each other and then got on the road to head back to our homes.
To this day, we still all agree on the events for Sunday.
We woke up, ate breakfast, hung out, swam, cleaned up, had lunch, and then we went home.
But Saturday has never been repaired for us.
We all still have different memories.
Priya and I worked together, so we had time to talk when we got back,
and she admitted that the events not matching was really eating at her.
So we talked about it some more.
She even went into more details, all about how,
Saturday I was wearing a hot pink one-piece swimsuit, but on Sunday I was wearing an orange and
teal two-piece. I only had the two-piece that she mentioned. I don't have a one-piece swimsuit.
I explained this to Connor, and he is adamant that we all must be misremembering things.
He thinks that we were all busy having fun. Maybe Priya did have a migraine, but we were all a bit
dehydrated, and otherwise he doesn't think it was anything deeper than that.
But I just can't get over the fact that we all have such vivid memories that differ.
How could that be?
And as mentioned, this was just a month ago, so it's not like these were memories from years ago
that we could all be forgetting the details.
So what the hell is going on?
What happened to our time that Saturday?
Nothing like this has happened to any of us since, losing track of time or remembering different things, so I can't even say that we were all sick or injured.
It still gives me goosebumps thinking about it, and as of now I'm kind of afraid of that house.
And I wonder if there was something else going on around that area that maybe we couldn't see with the naked eye.
I'm interested if anyone has any thoughts or ideas on what could have happened, or if they've experienced something like this.
Because it's kind of creepy to me that four people can sit on the same porch in the same weather for the same two days,
and yet walk away with four different afternoons.
Hi, Raven.
I'm one who does believe in alternate realities, and this is a fairly short experience that I had.
For a little background, right now I'm 52 years old and have a male body.
When I was in fifth and sixth grade, my mom wouldn't be able to pick me up right away when school let out.
We lived outside the city limits, and so I couldn't walk to or from school, and the school bus didn't get close enough to our house for me to take it.
Anyway, there was a little drug store three blocks away from the school, so I would walk down there and browse around and maybe buy some candy while I waited for my mom.
This was in the 1980s, so there were no cell phones, and I didn't have any handheld gaming devices to pass the time.
So that was basically my only option, instead of sitting on the school steps.
So now to my experience.
It was about six or seven years ago.
I was laying on my bed when I suddenly found myself walking down to that drugstore and opening the door.
It was a nice day, and I think I was 11th, so I'm guessing that it was either sometime in the spring of 1985 or fall of 1985
when I was in the second semester of fifth grade, or first semester of sixth grade.
It was basically how I remembered that time, but with one difference.
I was a girl instead of a boy.
I was able to feel my skirts swooshing around my legs as I walked, and the slight tug of my earrings and my ears.
As soon as I noticed that I was a girl, I had this feeling of elation about finally being a girl.
However, after about 30 seconds, I found myself back in my bed in my 40-something-year-old male body.
For years, I had thought that this experience was just a memory coming up that has changed.
changed somehow. However, at the time it happened, it was too real to be a memory, though I couldn't
think what else it was. I didn't think about actually shifting to an alternate reality at the time,
even though I did believe in alternate realities at the time. But now, after hearing about
shifting and even mini-shifts, I know that I experienced a mini-shift to an alternate reality
where it was 1985, and I was a girl.
I'm hoping to shift either to that reality
or another one where I was born a girl on a more permanent basis.
Sorry for this story being so short,
but it was also a very short experience.
Hey, Raven, I've been holding on to this story for a few months
because I know it sounds bonkers,
but I'm at a point where I need to get it off my chest.
I'm hoping that someone that listens to me,
to you may have had a similar experience or can at least tell me that I'm not losing my mind.
A while back, I had a sudden medical emergency, and it landed me in the hospital for about a week.
During this time, I ended up in the ICU for a while, and I was heavily medicated and completely isolated.
I'm going to leave out the specifics. I'll just say that I was in a rough shape and in a lot of pain,
and I genuinely thought that I was toast.
Side note, I am a lot better now, so while sympathy is appreciated, it's not necessary.
On the third night in the ICU, I woke up in my hospital room, but something felt completely and totally off.
I was just lying there with my eyes open, and the whole time, I almost felt like I was dissociating,
like the room was pulling away from me.
You know the whole Hitchcock Dolly Zoom thing that he did with the camera, where the person at the focus gets closer and the background gets further away?
That's basically what it felt like.
Like I would stare at something close and it would feel like it was getting closer than the room around it.
I felt like I was pulling away from reality, as I was trying to focus on things.
The weirdest part was that everything was super quiet.
In a hospital, there are pretty much always.
sounds, machines beeping, the air vents or people walking around, but it went completely silent.
The lighting also felt off, like my room was way too bright, like they had amped up the lights
by tenfold.
After a few minutes of me just feeling like everything was all weird, the door opened and a couple
of people walked into the room.
They were wearing scrubs, but they didn't act like doctors or nurses just there to check on
the patient. They had a tablet that they were looking at, and then they would look up at me and
silently nod before looking down and pushing more buttons on the tablets. I thought, maybe they
thought I was asleep or something, so I tried to say, hey, I am awake, but nothing happened. Like,
I couldn't speak. One of them looked at their tablet, and then looked up at me and said,
sit up. I remember thinking that I couldn't sit up, that I was in too bad of shape and just,
should probably stay lying down, but then I realized that I was sitting up, like I had just done it
without even thinking or controlling myself.
It was as if my body was just executing the commands that the person had given to me.
The other person made a comment about my response time, and the first person told me to do it again.
Again, without even thinking, I fell flat and then sat back up.
The second one said there was no change.
and that they needed to decrease the temperature.
Almost immediately my room felt like a commercial freezer.
I started to shiver violently and I could feel my teeth chattering.
The first one told me to do it again, and once more I fell flat and then sat up.
The second person was laughing at this like it was all a big joke, but then said that I was underperforming.
The first person sighed and said that it was all a failure,
and told the second person to, quote, wipe it.
She said it so casually, like I wasn't there, like I wasn't a person,
like I wasn't completely aware of what she was saying.
I remember this feeling of panic as the second one agreed
and then stepped toward the foot of my bed.
He pulled up his tablet and then said something about doing better next time,
and at that point I felt that same dissociation.
I felt the cold slowly fading to numbness.
The room felt like it was moving again, and my stomach was doing somersaults like I wanted to vomit.
I took a deep gasping breath, and then as if I had opened my eyes again, I was back in my original room.
The room was normal, the sounds were back, the dim lighting was back, and everything felt like it was supposed to.
I don't know why, but I grabbed the remote, and I hit the call button several times.
The nurse rushed in and looked super stressed and out of breath.
I guess I gave her a scare by jamming the button several times.
She then told me something that actually confused me.
She said that she was surprised I was awake.
I asked her what she meant,
and she mentioned that they had just had to sedate me less than five minutes prior,
and that I should be completely unconscious at that moment.
I asked why they would have had to have sedated me,
and she told me that I had apparently gotten out of bed
and was standing at the door screaming for somebody to help me.
I had apparently messed up my IVs, knocked a few things over,
and was completely freaking out for several minutes.
And they had to come in and give me something to bring me down.
The fact that I was awake was odd, but I was calmer and that was a good thing, in her words.
I had absolutely zero memory of doing any of that.
I'm not a confrontational person, and I don't normally scream into the void about needing help.
And I knew where I was, so me having a panic attack like that was seriously out of the ordinary.
I apologized to her and said that I would be better, and she laughed saying that it was okay,
and that I was probably just reacting to the situation.
They chalked it up to ICU delirium, which is a real thing.
when you're under that level of stress,
but this whole thing felt very real.
The fact that I apparently caused a huge scene
and was screaming for help,
all the while I was also being tested
or controlled by these other people
in the weird version of the hospital,
it's got me kind of freaking out right now.
It was real.
It felt real, and I don't have any memory
of what happened in this world,
but I very vividly remember
what happened in that one.
Like I mentioned, it has been a couple of months since this happened, and I still cannot shake
that feeling that I momentarily slipped into something, some kind of other reality, some parallel
universe or something.
I know it may have been my brain misfiring, but the overall situation just has me really,
really confused.
Hello there, friends, Raven here.
Welcome to the end of this episode of As the Raven
dreams. I hope that you genuinely enjoyed this collection of scary stories, as I enjoyed putting them
together for you. If the platform you're on has the option to follow the podcast or leave ratings,
reviews, please do consider doing so as it helps the podcast grow. Of course, if you enjoy the content,
that is. If you didn't enjoy it, then feel free to also leave a rating as honesty is important,
and I take all feedback seriously. Also, I do have a YouTube channel. It's a lot of the
same content, but we do live streams on Saturdays around 6 p.m. Central, so if you're free one Saturday
night and want to come over and say hi, I would love to have you there. We just kind of have a good
time doing whatever we want for the few hours that I'm online. You can also join the Patreon.
Patreon.com slash As the Raven Dreams for early access to all this content. Check out the website
as the Raven Dreams.com for information and where you can listen to the podcast, find all my social
media links, find the merch store, and send in your own stories to keep the podcast going,
as it pretty much exists on crowdsourced content at this point. All of you really do keep
the show going, so a huge thank you for that. Also on the website is information about the book
that I wrote, titled The Insomniacs Experiment by Raven Adams. It's a psychological thriller,
and I think it's pretty good. You might actually like it. Check it out. It's available on Amazon,
or if you want a signed copy, you can email me to see if I have any left,
and I will absolutely oblige if I do.
All that said, friends, I hope you have a lovely rest of your day.
I hope I see you again here very soon.
But until then, remember that you are loved, you are valid, you are important,
and the world is a better place with you in it.
Don't forget that.
Until next time, much love and sleep well.
