At the time, I worked for a Fortune 50 company that had a factory in Missouri. I was on a business trip to visit the factory and would be there for two weeks, and I had a team with me as well.
Starting point is 00:01:31 Shortly before the trip, my iPhone was lost. I didn't have insurance or AppleCare to cover the loss, so I decided to buy a used iPhone. I visited a local used phone shop and picked out a used iPhone that I liked. I was checking out at the counter and tried to peel off the sticker on the back of the iPhone, but it was very hard to remove. I asked the gentleman if he could take off the sticker. The man said yes, and then mentioned that he always took the stickers off for the customers.
Starting point is 00:02:03 Not sure if he used goof off or some other product to loosen the sticker and take it off, but it didn't take much time, and he handed me the phone back. It looked and felt nice. So back to the trip to Missouri. I was staying at a hotel and it was summer. The hotel had an indoor pool with glass windows all around it and tables on the outside where you could sit. It had been a long day and I wanted to relax, so... I walked outside and sat down at one of the tables.
Starting point is 00:02:37 There were four or five kids, young kids, playing in the pool inside, and making a lot of very loud noise. Kind of too loud and annoying. I was glad that I was outside. I'm not sure maybe if one of the doors was blocked open, but I could clearly hear them. I'd probably sat for about 20 minutes at the table outside. I was disappointed to find that the young annoying kids had decided to pay me a visit.
Starting point is 00:03:07 They actually came over to my table and started talking to me. It felt uncomfortable to have the four or maybe five annoying kids all surrounding me at my table. Leader of the kids was enthusiastically trying to get my attention, and my new used cell phone was sitting on the table. After a moment or two, my subconscious mind, told me to watch out for my iPhone. I reached out for the phone just as one of the other kids was also reaching for it. Fortunately, I got to it first, and the gang of kids ran away.
Starting point is 00:03:44 I felt quite relieved to have protected my phone, and walked to the front desk to tell them about the incident. When I described the incident, the gentleman said that I was very lucky, that they were trying very hard to keep these kids away, but that they kept coming by and distracting customers and taking valuable objects and then running away. And then I walked away and later took out my phone. I was utterly shocked to find that sticker that had been removed about a week ago was now attached back on my iPhone. I clearly remember talking to the person at the iPhone shop about removing it, and had asked him to remove it and I liked how well he had taken it off.
Starting point is 00:04:28 I should also mention that I was not using iPhone covers at the time, so I could easily feel the back of the iPhone, and it did not have a cover. It also shook me because clearly I could feel the sticker on the phone when I held the iPhone now. How could it be that the sticker was on the phone, and I didn't feel it for the week before I traveled to Missouri? So I struggled mightily to get the sticker off. I even took a picture of it, and to me, that's proof that this has actually happened.
Starting point is 00:05:03 But there is one more thing. I decided to go back and visit the used phone shop. I walked in and asked that same gentleman if he remembered me from a couple of weeks ago. He said that he did. I asked him if he remembered taking the sticker off of my iPhone, and he said yes. He did remember taking it off. and our conversation about it. I then showed him the picture of the old sticker on my iPhone and explained what had happened.
Starting point is 00:05:33 He was just as shocked as me. I have at least one more story, and if I have time, I'll send you what happened in that story. It's so encouraging to hear that so many others are experiencing such odd events. I hope that someone eventually figures out how these events happen. Hi Raven. I'm a typical long-time listener, but first-time poster. I'm mainly posting because you put out a call for glitch stories recently. I should note that this sounds like a paranormal story to begin with, but I consider it to be more glitchy.
Starting point is 00:06:19 So I live in a little haunted house here in Victoria, Australia. It is a typical little miners cottage. I purchased the land that it's on eight years ago and rebuilt the college from the room. of the original stone and brick dwelling. The resident ghost, Henry, originally owned the land and constructed the home. Although a little mischievous at times, he's a pretty chill guy to have around. Nothing he does is harmful, unless you call manifesting as an apparition and frightening the hell out of the neighbors, slightly harmful.
Starting point is 00:06:58 While I was rebuilding the house, I often worked late into the, the night. I began to notice strange things right away, like objects being moved or disappearing and not put back where I had left them. Doors that were firmly closed would suddenly swing wide open, and doors that were only closed would be locked from the inside, usually when my partner at the time would go outside, in what seemed to be an attempt to prevent him from returning inside, just things like that. Although there is a ton of paranormal stuff that happens here, some of which I may submit at a later date,
Starting point is 00:07:39 my focus today is on what I would label a glitch, although it may have begun with a paranormal twist. I was in bed one night when I suddenly jolted awake just after 1 a.m. by a loud crashing noise downstairs. FYI, my cottage has a full mezzanine floor upstairs, which is where my bedroom is located. I got out of bed and went downstairs to locate the sound of the disturbance. Once in the kitchen and dining room area,
Starting point is 00:08:12 I noticed that an etched wooden picture that is normally located well back, leaning against the wall, on a sideboard in the dining room section, had somehow fallen forward and knocked down a reasonably heavy cast iron bell that I had sitting on the same sideboard in front of the picture. The bell has, or should I say had, a decorative medieval-styled cross for a handle. It was also a functioning bell, in that you could hold the handle and ring the bell. A lot like those old little brass bells that would sit on shop counters. And if you came in and no one was behind the counter, you could pick up the little bell and ring it
Starting point is 00:08:55 to get the attention of a server, who might be out back in a stock room. I also recall many years ago one of my school teachers had one on her desk to call the class to order and settle down and pay attention if we got a little rowdy. I was genuinely puzzled, because there were no open windows or doors, indicating an intruder had been inside. There was no breeze or wind that could suddenly blow something down off a shelf, and no obvious reason that I could find as to why the picture, which had been solidly sitting there for a good 12 months or more,
Starting point is 00:09:32 would be knocked down. Anyway, the picture had only fallen forward, but remained flat face down on the sideboard. The bell, however, had been ejected from its normal location and had landed on the floor. I bent down to pick up the bell and noticed immediately that the handle was missing, like it had been broken off in the fall. I thought this was strange.
Starting point is 00:09:59 For a strong cast-iron bell to break so easily, the fall was not high impact. It was only from about six feet up and landed on the carpet rug. However, I shrugged it off, and although disappointed that my ornament was now broken, I scanned around the immediate area to locate the handle, thinking perhaps I could reattach, or repair it somehow tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:10:25 However, to my surprise, I could not find the handle. Now this is a reasonably weighty cast iron cross, about six, seven inches tall, and four inches wide. I searched the immediate vicinity thinking that it couldn't have gone far, but no luck. Given that I was tired and it wasn't urgent, I figured I would go back to bed and just look for it, in the morning. The next day when I came downstairs,
Starting point is 00:10:57 the bottom of the bell was on the dining room table where I had left it, the previous night. After a coffee and my morning routine, I decided I would locate the cross. I conducted a thorough search of the entire dining area. No cross. I expanded the search to the kitchen area. No cross.
Starting point is 00:11:20 I started to get annoyed at this. How ridiculous? I mean, where could it go? The total semi-divided room is about 21 feet, or roughly 7 meters long in total, and around 12 feet or 3 meters wide. It has been two years since this incident happened, and every piece of furniture has been moved, including the buffet in the dining room and the fridge in the kitchen, etc. in order to spring clean at least twice. And yet, no cross has ever been located. So, a rather heavy and reasonably sized metal, solid cross has just glitched out of existence.
Starting point is 00:12:06 I should note that I live alone. My partner did come and stay over occasionally, but he never lived here, and he would have no reason to take the cross. My adult children and a couple of friends or family members are the only other on-site visitors I receive. And I can't think of a valid reason one of them would have to try and pocket an obvious metal cross that belongs to me and make off with it, should they have magically found it, as I'm sure I have informed them all at some stage that it's missing. So, I guess I'll just have to wait and see if the Matrix decides to. glitched back into existence one day.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Let me start by saying that I don't usually talk about this much, or really at all. For the longest part of my life, I thought everyone dreamt the way that I do, just with better dreams. It wasn't until I was around 22 when I began a more serious relationship, and started spending whole nights at my boyfriend's apartment, that I realized that not everyone dreams like me. Since I was born, I've naturally of one. avoided sleep. Even as a baby, I didn't take naps. Naps have never been my thing. Later on in life, when people asked me why and made me think about it, I realized it's because
Starting point is 00:13:36 I've always been scared of my dreams. To say I have vivid dreams would be an understatement. I've lived entire lifetimes within them. Whole lives as other people I've never met. The weirdest part, I'm almost never myself. Often, I'm actually. a girl in these dreams, but whether I'm a boy or girl it doesn't matter at all feels natural in the moment. I've experienced dreams where I've grown from a little kid to death, living through emotions and events that feel completely real. There have been times when I woke up and didn't even know who I was or where I was. Let me tell you, that moment of confusion, it's one of the strongest feelings I've ever experienced and I hate it.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Not all the dreams have been bad. Some have been wild and even fun, but for the most part, I try to avoid sleeping too much. I've tried everything from drugs to rituals, meditation, Enrique, but it is what it is. One night, while sleeping and dreaming, I got up and sleepwalked to find a permanent marker. I didn't wake anyone up while doing it. I went back to my room, wrote a random word on my sheet, left the marker uncapped and laid back down, all while dreaming something totally unrelated. But here's the part that really scared me.
Starting point is 00:15:04 I always wear a St. Peter's medal on a thick, extra strong chain around my neck. Somehow during this episode, I ripped it off. The chain left a mark on my neck and broke clean in half. Let me be clear, it was strong. I wasn't lying about that, and yet I didn't wake up. When I saw what had happened, I immediately saged myself and did a cleansing ritual the next morning. I don't usually tell anyone these things, because, let's be real, most of my friends would probably think I'm nuts. Now, on to the glitch.
Starting point is 00:15:40 One year, during springtime, my parents went on a Caribbean cruise. When they returned, they brought back gift to the same. for my sister and me. My mom, knowing about my dreams and fears, gave me a dream catcher. It was red with feathers and a neatly woven web in the center. I remember this very clearly. There was nothing in the webbing also. It was just delicate webbing.
Starting point is 00:16:06 My mom hung it on my bedroom window and said that the woman who sold it to her explained that it would protect me from bad dreams. Cool. It hung there until we moved out of that house. One night, after sleep won its usual battle over me, I was dreaming. In this dream, I wasn't myself. I was a boy. At first, the dream seemed fine, and then I saw him.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Or it. I don't know what to call it, but if you've experienced it, you know exactly what I'm talking about. The scene shifted to a street, and then a room. Out of nowhere, a shadow appeared slowly taking the outline of a man wearing a rimmed, hat. I was terrified. I tried to run, but I couldn't move. The only thought in my head was, you're not going back this time. It sounded like a whisper, but it was definitely not my voice. I don't know if it was fear or will, but I snapped back to myself and jolted awake, and this is where the glitch comes in. I was sitting up in bed, looking around, and my eyes landed on the
Starting point is 00:17:17 dream catcher. I was around nine at the time, and I remember thinking, what the heck? I walked over to it, and the weirdest thing happened. Remember how I said the web in the center had been empty, just webbing? No word of a lie, but there were now three beads on the web. One large beige bead with the pattern, and two smaller blue ones all clustered together. Of course, my mom shrugged. it off when I told her, but to this day, she knows. We both know. That dream catcher didn't
Starting point is 00:17:54 have a single bead in it when she first hung it up. How do you explain that? Maybe I woke up in another version of my timeline where this version had the beads and the other didn't. I don't know, but seriously, writing this now makes me think there needs to be more research into stuff like this. So there it was, my glitch story. Has anyone else ever gotten random beads in their dream catcher, or is it just me? I know other people have seen the man in the hat, which only makes this whole thing more terrifying.
Starting point is 00:18:30 I've only seen him one other time, and if you guys like this story, or even read it, thank you if you do, I love your podcast. I'd be down to share that experience, too. It's crazy. and writing about it is definitely more fun than living it. And yes, I'm still scared to sleep at 34. But what are you going to do, right? Hello, Raven.
Starting point is 00:19:05 I've been tuning into your podcast for a few months now, after my algorithm kept suggesting that it would be a podcast that I would be interested in. And the algorithm was correct. You're an excellent narrator, and I love listening to you read all the stories, but I enjoy the glitch in the Matrix ones the most. I've long been a fan of glitch stories and listening to other people's stories has encouraged me to send you mine. I will preface this by saying that I am a woman in my mid-50s. My husband, early 50s, and I have been married for almost 20 years.
Starting point is 00:19:41 We're both skeptics, and though we both love reading about paranormal experiences and phenomena, we tend to be able to find rational, scientific explanations too much of it. But there are always these experiences that just defy explanation. The following was one of those experiences. I also want to add that I was not drinking or taking any mind-altering drugs the night that this occurred. Before the pandemic shut everything down, and we all went from in-person meetups to Zoom, my husband had been part of a writer's group that would meet every Wednesday night at a local comic book store to share ideas and discuss whatever they were currently working on.
Starting point is 00:20:25 We would often go straight from work over to the store and would usually get home around 9.50 to 10 p.m. The way that our house is set up, the front door opens to our living room, and you turn right to enter the dining room area, which we use as an office space. and then continued down the hallway to the bedrooms and bathroom. That night, as with many nights, I was seated at my computer in the office area. My husband came home from the meetup a little earlier than usual that night. It was probably around 9 p.m. I heard him unlock the front door.
Starting point is 00:21:03 He came in. We said a quick hello to each other and he continued past me down the hallway into the back of the house. Nothing unusual about that. I figured he had to use the bathroom and would come back into the dining room slash office area when he was done to sit at his desk, which faced mine. And then he would tell me about anything interesting
Starting point is 00:21:25 that had happened at the meeting. I went back to scrolling on social media, or whatever I was looking at, and didn't really think much more about it until I realized it had been like half an hour since he'd come home. Now, to call out my husband a little bit here, he is a bathroom reader, so spending an extended period of time in there isn't unheard of. He gets caught up in reading and the time just goes by. Over the years, it's become a joke between us.
Starting point is 00:21:56 So I gave him a few more minutes, but then decided to check on him. I went down the hall to the bathroom, but the door was wide open and the light was off. That was a bit strange, but I thought maybe he had gone outside into the backyard for some reason. If he used the bathroom and then had gone out the back door, there's a chance I wouldn't have heard him since I was at the front of the house. I went out into the backyard, but the lights were off on the deck, as well as in the garage, and his small workshop area next to the garage. I walked around the yard anyway to make sure, including up both sides of the house. I couldn't think of a reason why he might be over there, but I wanted to be thorough. He wasn't in any of these places.
Starting point is 00:22:48 At this point, I wasn't scared per se, but more just puzzled. I even thought maybe he had gone back to his car to get something. It would have been weird for him to leave through our back gate, which faces an alley, instead of coming back up the hall and leaving through the front door, but I was trying to think of any possible place he might have gone. So I checked outside around the house too. We're on a corner. But I found no one.
Starting point is 00:23:19 I came back in, checked the whole house one more time. We live in a fairly small one-story home, so there's not that many places he could have been hiding. And finally accepted that I was indeed the only person in the house. house. At that point, I decided to text him. I sent, hey, where are you? To his phone. And he replied back almost immediately saying, I'm still at name of comic book store. Why? To which I said, well, I've got quite a story for you when you get home. To this day, I don't know exactly what happened that night. I didn't just see him. I heard the
Starting point is 00:24:02 door open, we spoke to each other, I heard him walk down the hall and closed the bathroom door. So, who or what did I see and talk to? Like I said, I'm a skeptic and my rational side says that somehow my brain just tricked me into seeing something that wasn't there. I've read about how our brains often go on autopilot to do routine tasks, which is why sometimes you can't remember if you brushed your teeth or locked your car. because it's a task you do so often that your brain doesn't even think about it anymore. So, maybe I was so used to the routine of him coming home,
Starting point is 00:24:43 saying hello and going down the hall to use the bathroom that my brain created the input when it wasn't there? It seems unlikely, but I honestly don't know. I've had other smaller glitches, but this was definitely the weirdest one, and the one that I just can't explain. Hi, Raven. I love your podcast. I guess I should start by telling you how I found your podcast, which is kind of a glitch itself.
Starting point is 00:25:23 I actually had a dream with Keanu Reeves. I know, it seems silly at the time, but the dream was actually very vivid and meaningful. He was telling me how nothing we see is real and how there are many portals constantly taking us from one reality, to another. I told my friend about it while visiting her, and then a couple of days later, I saw a post on
Starting point is 00:25:46 social media. It was Keanu with a quote that pretty much repeated what I saw in my dream. I never typed anything about the dream on an internet search, as this was just a conversation I had with the friend. I sent this friend the post, and we were both amazed. Well, this is what led me to find your channel. Anyway, this is my glitch story. This was about 20 years ago.
Starting point is 00:26:14 My friends and I had driven to Tampa, Florida, to attend the Hallow Scream event at Bush Gardens that they held every year. We were staying at my friend's dad's time share, which was about an hour drive to Bush Gardens, without traffic. We got to the event around 10 p.m. enjoyed ourselves, had some drinks, but we were not drunk, and made sure we sobered up by the time we left the park. I remember getting in the passenger seat riding shotgun.
Starting point is 00:26:44 My friend was driving and my other friend was in the back seat. We chatted about the event for a bit, and I remember looking at the time, which was about 2 a.m. Next thing I know, we're parked in front of the timeshare. I looked at the time again, and it was only 220 a.m. My two friends also, quote, woke up at the same time as me, and seemed confused, that we were already there. And actually, none of us knew how we had made it back in just 20 minutes, and none of us remember falling asleep or the drive back. I asked my friend who was driving if he remembered parking, but he said he only remembered being on the highway, and a bunch of lights.
Starting point is 00:27:31 There is no way we made it back in 20 minutes, even in the middle of the night as it was a one-hour drive. We didn't mention it again, and I actually forgot about it until I heard one of your episodes about glitches in the Matrix, and someone from Tampa had a similar experience of feeling like they were teleported from one place to another that made no sense of time.
Starting point is 00:27:57 So maybe there is a portal in Tampa. I hope you like the story, and I will share more if I can. Hey, Raven, I'm still thrilled that my first real-life Matrix story was featured on your channel. Here's my second entry. I've always been interested in the metaphysical. Ever since I was a child, I wanted to have powers like the people in movies. Whether it was Carrie White's ability to toss a taunting kid off his bike with her mind, or harness the force like Luke Skywalker.
Starting point is 00:28:39 I would make flashcards with different symbols on them and ask my sister to hold them up so I could guess what it was to test for ESP. That's extrasensory perception. I rarely got the correct answer. Fast forward a few decades, and there I was sitting on my bed trying to have what is called an OBE, an out-of-body experience. The Monroe Method was the book I was obsessed with on the topic. The author is a man named Robert Monroe who studied. studied in great depth, the phenomenon of leaving your physical body while remaining conscious. I had already been meditating, and if I did it long enough, I could start to feel this buzzing
Starting point is 00:29:21 sensation in my body, almost like it was emanating from my bones, like when your hand falls asleep, and it feels like it's filled with electricity. One time it was so intense that I had to stop because I thought I would start to melt or come apart. However, in the Monroe Method book, they talked about this sensation, and that it was key to leaving your body. This was great news to me because I realized that I had been unknowingly practicing the first half of the method for about a solid year before I even knew about the book. The one sentence that made the difference was when he talked about repeating an idea in your mind while you're in this buzzing state.
Starting point is 00:30:04 The idea of saying to yourself, wouldn't it feel nice to float? I tried it over and over with no results. I believe I was just trying too hard and too much like trying too hard to fall asleep. It never works. I was sitting on the edge of my bed this whole time and out of frustration, I flopped back into the middle of my mattress.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Now, I was looking up at my ceiling and still had the buzzing sensation. I tried a few more times. Wouldn't it feel nice to float? Suddenly the buzzing sensation began to pull upwards. As I ascended, I could feel appealing away like I was floating up out of heavy, wet clothes. I then found that my vision was now looking directly at my closet. Strange?
Starting point is 00:30:57 Turns out, I wasn't floating up, but just sitting up. Or at least that's what I thought. Since I now felt free of the heavy clothes, I felt incredibly light. and at ease. All the while, the buzzing remained. Pretty wild that I was able to sit up just by thinking of thought and without any physical effort involved. It was then that I looked back and saw myself still laying in the bed. Eyes closed.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Up until that moment, I felt strangely fine. A bit like what Pink Floyd would call comfortably numb, but seeing myself laying there took me out of the moment. I thought, oh no, I left my body. What if I can't return? What if I float away through the ceiling or fall through the floor? Right then, I felt a force pulling me back down like a heavy gravity. I slipped back into the dense, wet suit called my body and opened my eyes. I was now staring at the ceiling again.
Starting point is 00:32:01 I instantly sat up and began frantically touching and pinching myself all over to establish that I was back in my old physical scene. I even pulled at my hair. Yep, I was me again. I've been a different person ever since that night, much more calm about life and death. The old me obsessed over and feared the idea of dying, but something became very clear to me after this incident. I now know that the real me isn't this wetsuit, but that sensation that was able to lift out of it. That part of the real me is a lot of felt immortal, whereas my human flesh body feels incredibly vulnerable and more and more mortal with each year that passes. Yes, this shell will one day seize up and die, but that inner essence,
Starting point is 00:32:54 whatever it is, won't go down with it. I had to feel it to know it, otherwise it would have just been a belief or a theory that I read in some book. And finally, the experience also gave me a new appreciation for my physical body. I now see it as a space suit that I have to wear while I'm on this planet, in this reality. I'm going to do my best to take care of it so I can traverse this strange place for as long as possible. You might be wondering if I continued to practice having OBE's to tell you the truth, not really.
Starting point is 00:33:35 I feel the sensation coming on during meditation, and I'll sit with it, but won't try to escape. It's almost like once you know, you know, and don't have to keep experiencing it. I've heard many people say it's the same when you take certain substances like Salvia or DMT. You see the other side, and you're good. And that being said,
Starting point is 00:34:00 when I'm old, frail and confined to a bed or wheelchair, you can bet that I'll be taking plenty of journeys outside the body. At least until I'm no longer welcome back in. Hey Raven, I hope I'm not driving you to madness with all the stories, but here's the next story on the chaotic series of events that took place during my two years of working at a recycling center and computer repair and resale shop. When I say a little bit of everything happened there, I mean it genuinely.
Starting point is 00:34:43 A little bit of everything happened there. This story is called the iPod, and it's quite literally the weirdest glitch story I can share. And as always, it is a true story. As mentioned before, we had all kind of electronics that were donated, dropped off, abandoned, or even sold to our sister company that all came through the recycling center for testing. refurbishing, and usually if one of us techs didn't snatch it up, the items would be placed for sale at the storefront, or sold on our online eBay or Facebook accounts. We had an array of old to new technology that came in, and surprisingly some of our older tech seemed to sell better.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Nostalgia buffs often reached out to us for older IMAX or for legacy game consoles, and they would pay a pretty penny for them to be in working condition. But there was a week when we got in a plastic sandwich bag that had three different iPods in them. A black iPod Nano 3-gen, a white iPod Nano first-gen, and of all things, a pink iPod fifth generation. Hands down, my co-worker wanted the black one for his wife, and as soon as I tested it and it powered on, he took it. I listed both the white iPod and the pink iPod for sale on our eBay page, as instructed. Since they both tested good, worked,
Starting point is 00:36:12 and I backed up their extensive music collections onto the new computer that I had been issued. They took my original computer after the whole Haley's phone situation, so I built out another one. Within a few days, we had sold the white iPod Nano Online for a decent amount
Starting point is 00:36:29 after an auction took the price into the $100 range. And, as always, I packaged, shipped, and marked the item as out of stock on our database. The pink iPod Nano set around for about a month, and I almost forgot that it was there until I got a call from the front desk lady at the storefront. She said she had an older woman at the store,
Starting point is 00:36:52 and she was looking for an MP3 player of all things, since she didn't like using her phone for music. It was 2022 at the time, and pretty much everyone used their phone to play music, but I told her that I had one left in stock and went back to the storage area to locate the item on the shelf where it was logged in our database. Sure enough, there it was in all of its glory.
Starting point is 00:37:18 My co-worker physically took the iPod Nano to the other location and we sold it that day. And I marked the inventory as having no more iPods because we literally didn't have any more. After the three that came in were gone. Remember that I said that. A few weeks after, we got a call from the storefront again, asking if we had any more iPods. And I mentioned that we had sold our last one to the old lady before, and the front desk lady
Starting point is 00:37:48 told me that she remembered that and told the customer that we were out. My co-worker came back from the back storage room and raised his eyebrows at me. He asked me why I told her we didn't have it anymore, and I told him that we had sold it. He went to the back storage room and returned with the pink iPod Nano 5th generation and said to call her back and tell her that we had another one. I was confused for a second since
Starting point is 00:38:16 I could swear we didn't have any more. And since part of my job was also listing and posting what we had for sale, I was also in charge of keeping inventory. Still, I figured the iPod could have been somewhere else in the storage room and wrote it off. I called back the front desk at the storefront, and we sold that iPod as well. After this, I went to the back storage room as well, and asked my co-worker to show me where he found the iPod.
Starting point is 00:38:46 He remembered delivering the first one to the storefront, but he said he honestly wasn't paying attention to the inventory, since after he got the black one for his wife. He wasn't interested in any other iPods, but the place he showed me he got the iPod from was a exactly where I had placed it before. Things got really interesting a few days later. I'll never forget it. It was a Friday, and we had an unusually high volume of sales and calls coming in for us to pick up electronics,
Starting point is 00:39:17 and I was up to my ears and laptops, testing and refurbishing units for a customer that put in an order for computers for a small academy. I don't mind a high volume of work, honestly, and I worked better when I had a steady flow of work to do. I got a call from the owner asking if we had any MP3 players or iPods left in stock, and I told him that we didn't.
Starting point is 00:39:42 He chuckled and asked me to take a look for him because he had another customer coming in and asking, and he said verbatim that he saw one on the shelf when he was there the day before. You can imagine how odd I felt when I walked back to the storage room and saw that again a pink iPod Nano 5th Gen was sitting on the shelf. shelf in the same place. I actually took the iPod and brought it over to the computer and plugged it in to make sure it had charge.
Starting point is 00:40:11 And even more unsettling than the fact this was the same iPod, was it the music I previously cleared off the device when I put the previous iPod into the inventory. It was all back on the device. Same songs, same playlists. And before anyone says that it probably didn't transfer, I made sure that it did. and we always made sure our devices were wiped and factory reset before selling them. This iPod was the same device, and again, we were selling it to a customer in person. My boss came to get it, they sold it, and I went to look through the inventory for about an hour.
Starting point is 00:40:52 I didn't find any more iPods of any kind anywhere in that room. I checked desks and desk drawers, even new boxes of things coming in to, to be tested and there were not any more iPods in that store. This happened and I never quite understood it. But to make this story more interesting, my wife and I recently, in 2025, were borrowing my nephew's car for a few days, and we cleaned it out. It was my wife's older sister's car first, and she'd had it for years before she got another one and gave this car to our nephew, her son. When we went to clean it out, my wife pulled a bunch of trash out from under the driver's seats, and then she laughed and called me over. I just found my mom's old iPod from when we were kids, my wife told me, and she showed me the iPod.
Starting point is 00:41:48 Well, guess what kind of iPod it was, and what color? Thank you for sharing these stories, Raven. Our reality is a lot stranger than people like to think. My girlfriend, now wife, used to rent a house about a 10-minute drive from where I worked. I held this job for close to 10 years, so I had a very consistent routine for my morning before work. I had to be there to punch the time clock by 6 a.m., so I would typically wake up around 5.40 a.m., throw my work clothes on, and just head straight there, usually getting there a few minutes early. It was so routine for me that I usually would wake up on my own around the same time every day without an alarm. But I did have one set for 5.45 a.m. just in case.
Starting point is 00:42:51 One particular morning, I woke up at around 4.30 a.m. I looked at my phone and figured it was too early to get up, so I tried to fall back to sleep. I tried and tried to fall asleep again for what felt like an hour. And I looked at my phone again to see that only ten minutes had passed. I finally gave up and went down to the kitchen and made a cup of coffee, which, I will note, is something I rarely did at home. And I sat and drank it at the kitchen table to pass a little time. I sat there drinking my coffee, thinking that some more time had passed,
Starting point is 00:43:30 so I figured it was getting close to the time for me to head out. To my surprise, I checked the time on my time. my phone again to see that only another ten minutes had passed. So I finally just tell myself that I'll just head to work early and just hang out there until a reasonable time to which I can punch in. There were only two roads to get to my work, my street and then a side street that connected to mine to get to the road my work was on. About a mile down from our work building is a major highway that has an overpass that crosses the road that my work building is on. There's a red light before the underpass with the median in the middle.
Starting point is 00:44:12 As I'm sitting at the red light, I noticed something. I noticed that nothing was open on my way. No gas stations, no stores, nothing. I also noticed that there were no other cars on the road, or even passing over the road that I was on over on the highway. And thinking back up to that point, I don't recall seeing any other vehicles. So, this story kind of goes along with a conspiracy theory
Starting point is 00:44:52 that CERN is opening interdimensional portals and black holes. This is something I experienced after they started their Hadron engine in 2022. I'll just say right now that I don't know what I saw. I can only theorize. I'm simply relaying what I saw and not stretching it to make it more entertaining in any way, shape, or form. A little backstory about me is I often work with and communicate
Starting point is 00:45:21 with a certain group of interdimensional beings. They're highly protective of me due to this and are likely the reason that I saw what I did. If I describe any colored energies, I often perceive them as oras. Not all interdimensional beings are good and some are highly dangerous. I don't tell.
Starting point is 00:45:43 consider them friends, and they also don't consider me a friend. Around this time, I was staying at my biological mom's house. I fell asleep just like any other night. I felt my consciousness leave my body as I'm prone to astral projecting in my sleep. I saw my mother walking across the room, as I heard her, and she seemed to be suffocated by this dark, red energy. I decided to float out of the roof and then I felt a shift. The shift made me dizzy and everything just started feeling off. I decided to project my consciousness out of the house and I saw the sky. The sky looked mostly black with jagged pieces of white.
Starting point is 00:46:32 Think broken screen without the colors. There were certain houses that seemed to have been destroyed and the roof of my mother's house seemed to be ripped half off. Gravity seemed to have completely gone. There were no signs of life anywhere, except for a few stray cats and dogs, which seemed to be concerned by the sky. The entire time I was there,
Starting point is 00:46:58 I was getting the overwhelming feeling that I shouldn't be there, and I definitely shouldn't have seen whatever the hell that was. I don't know if we're in a Matrix, or if something actually happened to the old timeline, meaning we all had to shift to a new one to maintain the illusion of reality and to prevent mass panic. I want to know if anyone else saw what I saw around this time. I believe it was May through June of 2022 to be specific.
Starting point is 00:47:30 I don't believe that I was the only one to see this. Hi, Raven. I've got a story for you that's part glitch, park discovery, and maybe a little bit strange. My name is Chloe, and I'm a medical student by day, but on the weekends I'm actually a DJ at local events. It's something I do just for fun. Music has always been a huge part of my life,
Starting point is 00:48:05 but it wasn't until I came across this old radio that I realized sound is more powerful than I ever imagined. It all started at this little flea market that I go to sometimes, I was wandering around, not looking for anything in particular, when I felt this pull towards a table with old junk. There was an old radio sitting there, wooden with big dials and scratches like it had been through decades of stories. I wasn't planning to buy anything, but I swear as I stood there looking at it, I heard something. It wasn't loud, just a faint voice in the back of my mind that said, take it, this is for you. I kind of laughed it off, thinking it was just my imagination.
Starting point is 00:48:51 But the feeling wouldn't go away. It was like the radio was calling to me. So I bought it, thinking maybe I could fix it up or use it as one of my DJ's setups. That night, I plugged it in and it hummed to life with the soft crackle of static. I started turning the dials to see if it picked up anything. At first it was just white noise, but then I thought I heard something. A faint tone buried under the static. I leaned closer trying to make it out, and that's when I heard a voice.
Starting point is 00:49:25 It wasn't clear, but it was there. A calm, almost melodic tone, saying, Look into sound, it can heal. I froze. I couldn't tell if it was coming from the radio or my own head. It felt like a glitch. Like reality had skipped for a second, but it also felt purposeful. I couldn't stop thinking about it, and I started researching sound frequencies and stumbled
Starting point is 00:49:52 onto something called the Sophagio frequencies. These are specific tones believed to have healing properties. For example, 528 hertz is known as the love frequency, and is claimed to repair DNA and promote healing. 396 hertz can release fear and guilt. 432 resonates more naturally with the human body creating harmony and relaxation. I was fascinated. As a DJ, I've always thought about how music made people feel.
Starting point is 00:50:23 How a good baseline could lift a crowd or how certain melodies could make people emotional. But this was different. This was about sound as a tool not just for entertainment, but for healing. My medical interest peaked too. I could actually use my two passions mixed together to heal. I started experimenting. I downloaded a tone generator, and began playing with these frequencies.
Starting point is 00:50:50 When I played 528 hertz, the room felt lighter, and my chest loosened like I could finally breathe deeply. 396 gave me this strange sense of release, like I'd let go of something heavy, and I didn't even know I was carrying it. But I didn't stop there. I came across something called infrasound, frequencies below 20 hertz that you can't hear but can feel.
Starting point is 00:51:17 It sometimes called the fear frequency because it causes anxiety, nausea, and even a sense of dread. Some horror movies use it to make you uneasy without you even realizing why. So I tested it. I played a tone in the infrasound range, and within seconds, I felt horrible. My chest tightened, my palms got clammy, and my mind started racing with irrational fears. I stopped immediately, but it took hours for the feeling, to fade. That's when I realized that sound isn't something we can hear, it's also something we can feel. I started thinking about the music I play as a DJ, how much of it was designed to make
Starting point is 00:52:00 people feel good, and how much was engineered to manipulate emotions. I began analyzing popular tracks, and what I found was unsettling. There were songs that felt catchy and fun, but when I broke them down, I noticed patterns. Some tracks had embedded totally. tones in the infrasound range, just low enough to create subtle tension and discomfort without you noticing. The baseline in certain songs were tuned to resonate uncomfortably in the body, keeping listeners hooked in a way that felt addictive. And almost all of them were tuned to a 440 hertz.
Starting point is 00:52:37 The modern standard, which some researchers believe creates subtle disharmony compared to 432, a more natural frequency. and that's when it hit me. Music could be engineered not just to entertain, but to manipulate how we feel. I wanted to prove that music could do more than that. It could also heal. I started creating my own tracks, blending in good frequencies like 528 hertz and 432. At first it was just for fun, but when I played them for friends, their reactions blew me away.
Starting point is 00:53:11 One person told me that they felt calmer within minutes of listening. Another said the music helped them sleep for the first time in weeks. It wasn't just music. It was something deeper, something that seemed to resonate with people on a physical and emotional level. I still use the radio sometimes, though it behaves oddly. Every now and then, I hear faint tones in the static that feel strangely familiar, like they're nudging me towards something. It makes me wonder if that initial voice I heard,
Starting point is 00:53:45 wasn't just my imagination. Maybe it was a glitch, or maybe it was something, or someone trying to show me the power of sound. But here's what I've learned. Sound is more than just entertainment. It's energy and it can heal, but it can also harm. And the more we understand about the frequencies we surround ourselves with, the more control we have over how we feel. So that's my story, Raven. And I hope it inspires people.
Starting point is 00:54:15 to think differently about the music they listen to and the power of sound. And thank you for letting me share it. This took place in the early 2000s when my husband was a supervisor for a major railroad company. We were living in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, at the time called Noonan. He had to travel certain distances, even to different states sometimes during the day, because he had a huge territory. I will tell you all up front that I'm not and never was a drug user. I do not suffer from mental illness of any kind,
Starting point is 00:55:00 and I was not and am still not on any prescription medications. My husband and I have always teased each other over silly things for fun, and at this time he had been teasing each other about who was the laziest or who slept the most. Goofy, I know, but that's how we roll. Since he was a supervisor, he was sometimes, allowed to work from home, even back then, because unless he needed to go out in the field for something, his job mainly consisted of a few things on a computer and phone calls. I felt like I was the least lazy, because I had to get up every morning and take our daughters
Starting point is 00:55:37 to school, go pick them up, cook, clean, etc. So, on this particular day, my husband had to go out into the field to make sure his men were on task. I was actually pretty tired that day, so I was thinking to myself, yes, I can take a secret nap while he's gone. I went and laid down and quickly fell asleep. Something woke me up, and I to this day cannot remember what it was that woke me up, but I glanced down at the foot of the bed, and there was my husband.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Of course, it annoyed me because I felt like he had snuck up on me. and caught me napping. So I said, Why are you here? What do you want? He said nothing. He was grin, he was grin,
Starting point is 00:56:26 shaking his hips in a teasing sort of little dance like a child does when they're saying, ha ha, I have something you don't. What he had that I didn't was a 20-ounce mountain dew
Starting point is 00:56:37 drinking on it while grin this goofy little grin behind the top of the bottle. Now, trust and believe that I was wide awake and annoyed.
Starting point is 00:56:47 I said, Go away, you're not funny. And as I'm looking at him after saying that, he began to dematerialize from the floor up. As he is disappearing, it becomes clear
Starting point is 00:57:02 that he is made of what appears to be digital little squares. The squares just floated off becoming transparent until they were gone. After the top of his head disappeared, I sat on the bed,
Starting point is 00:57:15 just staring at the empty area where he had been standing with my mouth open. I was in complete disbelief. I panicked for a moment, wondering if it was some sort of message from the universe that something had happened to him, so I quickly called him. To my great relief, he picked up on the second ring, and I asked him, were you just here in the bedroom? He was very confused and said,
Starting point is 00:57:45 What? No, I've been in Alabama all day. I told you that I had to go check out some things in the field. So, whatever I saw was not really my husband. I've racked my brain over the years trying to figure out what the thing was that I saw. Looking back, I remember that whatever it was was completely void of any sound. There were no sounds of clothing moving as he danced. No sound of him drinking the mountain dew. nothing.
Starting point is 00:58:17 I still have no clue what that was. And if I talk to people other than family, they would probably think that I did drugs, which I didn't. I know all of you here won't judge me because we all see things that most people don't. Anyway, I just thought I would share. Thank you Raven for reading and thank you all for listening. So, in my life,
Starting point is 00:58:51 I've had so many glitch in the Matrix and paranormal experience, It's ridiculous to the point of being commonplace. My life, as usual. I'll share with you and your listeners just the most recent. It's not frightening, but it is quite odd, as are all glitches. As most anyone knows, Southern California was recently hit with staggering wildfires, driven by Santa Ana winds that reached 80 to 100 miles per hour. I live along the San Gabriel Corridor, just over 20-some miles east, of one of the fires.
Starting point is 00:59:29 I won't go into boring details about the geography more than that. Suffice it to say, the fires were far enough that I didn't have to evacuate. We were only on red alert, so we were lucky. And anyway, the story is more about the wind than the fires. Due to the Santa Ana winds blasting towards the west, We also experienced what are called mountain wave winds that slammed with the hard circular motion down the mountain into the valleys. I can't tell you how bad the wind combination was.
Starting point is 01:00:04 There are no words. The area I'm in experienced trees ripping out of their roots or toppled over in numerous kinds of destruction. But no one's interested in a list of that. Anyway, after the winds finally died down, I looked out at the damage from the balcony on my condo. Aside from the loss of some very beautiful trees, I could see the roof of a building across from me,
Starting point is 01:00:31 with its roof gouged out in several long strokes. The layers of roofing were gone down to the boards, and roofing material was all over the driveway and parking lot below. Luckily, the high pool wall was a bit of a windbreak for my building. After several days, and after return, from an early end workday, I noticed, again from my balcony, that the previously torn to shreds roof had been fixed. Not only fixed, but the entire roof was brand new. It was beautiful, as roofs go. Being new made it look very clean, and I remembered thinking that. I admired it
Starting point is 01:01:12 as I drank my afternoon tea and marveled at how quickly an entirely new and seamless roof had been done. Since we were expecting rain soon, I figured the roofers were making the best of the time they had. Time was of the essence, in other words. The next morning I got up for work again, and I looked out my balcony window to see if the rain had begun in the night. No, no rain yet. Then I looked over again to the new roof on the building across from me. But there was no new roof. The roofing layers were still missing as they were before. The boards were still exposed as before. Pieces of the old roof still clung on here and there.
Starting point is 01:01:54 Did the new roof exist in an entirely different timeline? Was this a simulation of a new roof that I saw the day before? The day before the rains came, roofers stretched and hammered plastic sheeting down, and it's still there covering the exposed boards on the ripped up roof underneath. It's never too early to plan your summer story in Europe, with WestJet, from rolling countryside to cobblestone streets. Begin your next chapter. Book your seat at westjet.com or call your travel agent.
Starting point is 01:02:30 WestJet, where your story takes off. Bien-a-bore-R-R-I. Embarked and profite. Embarked and relax. Cirot, bookine. Oh, that also. And profite. Villaray, the voice that we love that we love. This happened over the course of about a week.
Starting point is 01:02:55 If you remember a story I submitted where the light switch in my bathroom suddenly became a fan instead of a light, man, are you going to be excited to hear this? They're at it again, but it's different. So I made a pretty good habit out of turning off the lights when I leave a room. I don't just forget things like this. It's muscle memory at this point. So here's the pattern. I go into a room and turn on the light.
Starting point is 01:03:24 I do the thing I was supposed to do. I turn off the light, I go back to my room. But recently something weird has been happening. I've been doing my routine, listed above, and then I sit down. I can see if there's a light on through the vents above the door and underneath my door. This has happened at least five times in one day, six in the next, and like four of the day afterwards, followed by about once a day for like a week. I spoke out loud to the universe.
Starting point is 01:03:59 Hey, universe, stop turning my lights on. I have to pay the bill, you know. And now the lights stay off. There's nothing more to it. Nothing spooky, just my light switch is glitching out again. I have a feeling that this is going to become a regular thing in this apartment. When I was in college in the 90s, some of my roommates and I were messing with a Ouija board in our apartment one night.
Starting point is 01:04:35 Just an FYI, do not mess with these. I regretted so much to this day, even though it was over 30 years ago. Anyway, at one point, we were getting really freaked out by the things the Ouija board was saying, or spelling out on the board. So we were taunting it, saying things like, we don't believe you, you're not real, etc. Then, the Ouija board spelled out the words, look up, over and over, really fast. And we all got so freaked out that we all screamed, no, we won't look up.
Starting point is 01:05:12 And kept looking at the floor, not wanting to see what might be above us if we looked up. The next thing I remember, we were all running as fast as we could down a street several blocks away from our apartment. To this day, I do not know what happened. I don't remember leaving our apartment or running from the apartment to the place where we were now running. None of my friends know what happened either. We finally stopped running and just cried and hugged each other. The four of us had the same experience together. We suddenly found ourselves running for our lives down a road in the middle of the night,
Starting point is 01:05:52 when only seconds before, in our memory and consciousness at least, we had been in our apartment several blocks away messing with the Ouija board. It still freaks me out when I think about it. I don't know what happened, but I feel like someone or something transported us away from whatever evil was connected to that Ouija board and took us to a safe place.
Starting point is 01:06:17 This experience has never left me. I don't feel like I can actually put into words just how deeply disturbing and terrifying this experience was. This is kind of short, Raven. I'm sorry if it is, but it happened two days ago when I went to McDonald's with someone. They took me after school to McDonald's.
Starting point is 01:06:50 We're in the drive-thru, and I noticed that on the Happy Meal, it's showing that they were pictionary. I thought that was unusual for the month of January. Two days later, I enter McDonald's for work in the morning, like I do at 10 a.m. First thing I'm thinking is that Pictionary is there.
Starting point is 01:07:09 But when I go to the back, I don't see Pictionary. Instead, I see Pokemon trading cards. I begin thinking that this is weird considering that I thought it was Pictionary that was actually there. I ask around to my other employees, and they say they don't know what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 01:07:29 I believe that they're telling the truth. They told me that it had been Pokemon trading cards the entire time. So, I think that I only saw it because there could have been a glitch in the Matrix. So that was this week's collection of Glitch in the Matrix stories on the As the Raven Dreams podcast.
