Starting point is 00:01:54 hello raven I hope you're doing well. I was listening to one-year videos while cleaning the house. It was the bizarre parallel universe stories one. By the way, I like the new forest outro. Thank you. Anyway, as I was listening to these stories, I remembered one of my own. So, this happened in 2018.
Starting point is 00:02:24 At the time, I had just reunited with one of my childhood best friends and still one of my best friends. Her name is P. So, P and I agreed to meet for coffee late in the evening. It was early autumn, and if I recall correctly, we had to meet up at 5 p.m. And I've been having terrible headaches and migraines for weeks at that point. It was because of a bad nutrition and vitamin deficiency, but that day I was having a migraine and tried to alleviate some pain while I was in my college bathroom, which resulted in a stabbing pain in my head,
Starting point is 00:03:00 me fainting and waking up with a nosebleed, and my shirt stained with blood. Thankfully, I had brought a change of clothes for the meetup, so I changed and got myself cleaned, but this caused me to be late by 15 minutes. Throughout the whole night, I felt off. I had a dull headache and some disorientation, and it was as if I wasn't fully in my body. Also, my eyes, their pine green, they were far more prominent than the brown, which was the second odd thing. The first thing was how I was feeling. There was also this numbing sensation, too, all over my body, as if I was wrapped with cotton swabs.
Starting point is 00:03:47 I tried to push through it, and I did have a good time. We went to a Sherlock Holmes themed coffee shop, and with us was somebody named, M. Now, to this day, I had never met M before in my life, yet M knew me. She had pictures of us in group settings, and she was with us at events that I do have memories of, but never with her. I felt unsettled, but again, I'm human, and my period of my life that I met P and consequently have been the five most traumatizing years of my life to this day, so I could have very well blocked her out of memories. We all had fun despite my feelings of confusion as to how M knew things about me, things she claimed to have been told by me and was present when they happened.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Then, M spoke about an event that I have no memory of, which again, I just contributed to trauma. block. The event was about a birthday party of another friend of ours and how we were all hanging out at the Sappho Square in Mideline and Levos in the year 2009. It was also November because M said that we were excited for Christmas and as we were hanging out while the actual party took place at a pizza shop nearby, we had already eaten. So we cut the cake and paid the bill. That's when M suggested to take a picture of all of us. She had a disposable film camera and took the picture. I was sitting next to P, smiling, while the birthday girl was on the other side next to me.
Starting point is 00:05:36 I was smiling and doing a P sign. That's the event. In 2018, M brought the photo that she wanted to give to me, since she couldn't give it to me when she said goodbye to me before moving away. That's when I froze. I didn't feel right looking at myself in this picture. It felt wrong. I had a stabbing pain in my head, and I wanted to vomit while seeing this picture.
Starting point is 00:06:06 I have no idea why I had such a visceral reaction. In my head, I was screaming that this wasn't me. I wasn't at that party. I had no idea who this birthday girl was either. The only familiar person in the photo was, I showed the photo to P, and she also looked confused and said she didn't recall who these people were, and M looked offended, and said their names, which P and I did not recognize. P then tried to change the subject, but I interjected and kindly said to M that she hadn't come to say
Starting point is 00:06:43 goodbye to me before I moved away. It was just P, P's brother, and then another friend of ours named N. I remember this because we were crying and hugging tight, and N was angry at me for leaving, and P's brother wanted to hurry along to go-play soccer. M was not there. M looked equally confused and took her phone out and showed me a picture that she took of all of us.
Starting point is 00:07:10 And again, the feeling that I was looking at me, but not me, came back. Then I got a nosebleed. I went to the bathroom to get cleaned up and everything. The evening ended with confusion because M was a bit sad that I didn't remember her, but it was hopeful that since we lived in the same city, we could rekindle our friendship. We exchanged Instagrams, and I still have her as my friend on there, but we rarely talk. Well, cut to June of 26. P is getting married, and we're talking about guest lists.
Starting point is 00:07:47 and then I asked her about M. Now, P did not recall M. I sent P her Instagram, and she too cannot recall from where she knows this person. I asked her if she recalls how she met M. She said no. Then she said that COVID did do a number on her memories, so it must be that. Later in the day, she texted me saying that she found M in various albums and asked her own mother. Well, her mother didn't recall M either, and neither does mine.
Starting point is 00:08:21 So I messaged M on Instagram asking if I knew her because I've seen her liking my posts and my Instagram stories, and she answered that she doesn't personally know me, but she likes what I post, and she can't recall when we followed each other. P does not follow her at all on Instagram. So, what is happening? My theories are two. One is that in 2018, I met a parallel version of M that was our friend. And two, that I switched universes, and now this universe's M was not my friend ever.
Starting point is 00:08:58 Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read my story and have a good evening or day. Two and five Canadians will hear the words you have cancer. That's why every step and dollar raised matters. On September 19th, join thousands in Toronto for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation Walk. Challenge yourself, friends, and family to walk 21 kilometers in support of life-saving research. Together, we can carry the fire and help create a world free from the fear of cancer. Register today at pmcfwalk.ca.ca. A few years ago, I lived in a cul-de-sac in a small, safe suburb, the kind where you're passively friendly with your neighbors.
Starting point is 00:09:53 Across from my house was a little red house where there lived a man in his late 30s, Ron, his wife, and their two young children. Our children would play together in the street. We would exchange favors and Christmas cards, etc., and so our families were somewhat close. In the blue house beside them lived Ron's parents, which I always thought was nice that they could see each other often. In one early summer evening, while still fully. light out, the weather was nice, so I was out on my front porch to relax for a moment.
Starting point is 00:10:29 I see Ron walking out of his parents' blue house, telling them goodbye. He's carrying a gallon of milk in his left hand, and no bag, just the milk. I thought how convenient that he can borrow milk from his parents next door, instead of having to just go buy it. I didn't call out to him as I figured he was busy. He walked into his little red house and shut the door. Maybe a minute later, Ron's car pulls up into the driveway. I thought nothing of it, to my surprise, Ron himself then gets out of the car. In his left hand, he's holding a yellow plastic grocery bag that I recognize as being from the corner store up the block. The bag is transparent, so I can see inside. It's a gallon of milk.
Starting point is 00:11:23 Being confused, I again decided not to call out to him. He again walked into his little red house and shut the door behind him. I imagine at home, his wife had asked him to go get milk. And through some strange glitch, he did. Twice. In two different ways. I wonder if that evening his wife found two gallons of milk in the kitchen. I found your channel a few months ago, and I want to thank you for creating a space for those of us who have experienced such things.
Starting point is 00:12:08 This was a regular Sunday night for me. I was leaving my shift at Brigham's and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts in 2023, making my way home back to New Hampshire, contemplating how exhausted I was. Normally, I don't work at this particular hospital since it's very far, but I was called in for coverage. I can't give the details of my position. It was a long car ride. Boston's New Hampshire is always a long car ride for me, especially at night. I barely ever leave New Hampshire unless it's to travel abroad or a very, very special event,
Starting point is 00:12:45 or celebration with friends in Boston. Nevertheless, I persisted. Halfway through my highway drive, I noticed that I missed my exit. So, as one does, I proceeded to. to the next exit and rerouted. The problem was that the following exit, things gone a bit weird. Here's the thing. I was raised by folks who did not believe in anything other than the Big Bang and
Starting point is 00:13:10 science-based beliefs. I myself struggled with the idea of anything paranormal existing until I started working at the hospital. I've seen some things. I've witnessed things that cannot be explained by science. I've had encounters that, to this day, make my bones rattle. Anyway, after I took the following exit, the air felt heavier. I had my drivers and passenger windows a bit cracked to help me stay awake. The air felt extremely misty. I just thought,
Starting point is 00:13:44 oh no, it's going to rain. I hate driving late at night, super tired in the rain. The further I got, I realized I didn't recognize this area at all, which shouldn't have been. I've taken this exit before, although it's not my usual one. The time was around 2.30 a.m. at this time. Please take note of that. As I kept driving, I got a glimpse of a horse carrier wagon sort of thing. I just thought to myself, Julia, you were going insane. Then I kept hearing the sound of horses clicking and clacking through.
Starting point is 00:14:21 I at this point figured that I was dealing with stress, the sleepiness, induced paranoia, even psychosis. The roads looked completely different. New Hampshire is definitely not as advanced as Boston, but it's surely not a time capsule such as what I was witnessing. It was incredibly dark, no streetlights other than my fords. I kept driving for what felt like hours. That intense smell of horse, cow, or farm, or animal manure was overwhelming. Then suddenly out of nowhere, I start seeing things back to normal. Street lights, signs, tunkin donuts. And what's even more disturbing, or what was more disturbing to me at the time, was that it was still 2.30 a.m. Hey, Raven, thank you for the comfort you provide to me, as well as so many others.
Starting point is 00:15:28 Thank you. It's a pleasure. You've become part of my daily routine, and I've been watching you for a little over six months now, as I know others have mentioned. and while listening to more of your stories, I remembered an experience I had with my mom a decade ago. I hope I was able to word this in a way that makes sense. I've been working on how to exactly articulate the story for a couple of months now. I grew up in Central California for all of my childhood. I've made the hour drive to and from the local airport a million times,
Starting point is 00:16:00 and I know that trip like the back of my hand. My mom, who was in her 50s at the time, and of some, sound mind, has also grown up there and knows it better than I do. This is important to note because it's highly doubtful that we would both miss this or get this wrong. Anyway, I had moved out of state at this point and had to fly in to see my family. I made my usual trip. My mom made the hour drive out to pick me up and we switched seats, as my mom is a very
Starting point is 00:16:30 nervous driver in bigger cities and doesn't enjoy driving in general, so whenever we're together I drive us. Like I said, it's about an hour depending on traffic. By the time we were leaving the airport, it was about 4.30 p.m. with decently heavy traffic. I wasn't speeding and couldn't even if I had wanted to because of the other cars. Time flies when you're having an engaging conversation. Before we knew it, my dad was calling my mom. She answered and put him on speaker. He wanted to make sure that we didn't get too distracted and forget to stop for food.
Starting point is 00:17:10 We agreed that we were stopping in town between the airport and where they lived. They don't have an in-and-outs in their town, and he's slightly obsessed with it. He said that he was getting hungry and looking forward to his burger and milkshake, and seeing me, of course. So he asked where we were. I glanced at the nearest exit sign and had to have my mom control. affirm what I was seeing. We were in a different town completely, and not the one in between towns. It was a whole town past my hometown. It should have taken almost two hours to make the trip
Starting point is 00:17:48 from the airport to where we were in that moment. We left the airport at approximately 4.30 p.m. It was 5.10 p.m. We looked at each other completely shocked. My dad questioned the silence. I told him to give me a moment while I pulled over and checked my phone to confirm. We were almost two hours from the airport, in under 45 minutes, with decently heavy traffic. I informed my dad of our location, and he didn't believe us. I don't blame him. We couldn't explain it in a way that made any sense.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Hell, we had no explanation for how this happened. We gave him the new ETA and hung up. We just sat there on the side of the road puzzled, discussing how that happened. And I confirmed with my mom that I wasn't speeding and traffic was still pretty heavy. I took a drink of water and got back on the road deciding that some things will just never have answers. We've only talked about this a couple of times since it happened, but it was always the same story and left us with the same questions. Luckily, there was an in-and-out on this new route, so my dad got his burger and milkshake, while my mom and I now have a lifetime of questions.
Starting point is 00:19:12 But all's well that ends well, I suppose. Hi, Raven. I think my story could fit into the parallel universe category, but I'm not sure. First, I'm French-Canadian, and English is not my first language, so I will do my best. I'm a 49-year-old woman, and this all happened about 26 years ago. At this time, I was in the process of divorcing an abusive husband. I was living in the country far from my family, and I felt alone. I was hospitalized to treat a severe depression in a town about 300 kilometers away from my hometown, and where I knew no one.
Starting point is 00:20:01 I met there, a man 12 years older than me, Lewis, very kind of. kind and patient. He was dealing with his own problems, but we connected instantly and became best friends helping each other very much. We decided to get an apartment together, in my hometown, to start a new life and heal our wounds. We got a nice, big apartment, and we moved in. The events, if that's the right word, began then. My mom came to help me move the little stuff that I have and settled in. She was a bit startled by the apartment. When I asked her why she looked so weird, she told me that it was the block where her late brother used to live when they were young adults, and it was the exact same apartment. I found this to be kind of cool, and she told me about
Starting point is 00:20:54 their youth and all the good memories that she had of him. Later on, maybe a few weeks after, I was alone in the apartment when someone knocked on the door. When I was alone in the apartment when someone knocked on the door. When I opened it, I was face to face with my economics teacher in high school. It took me a moment to recognize him and process his presence at my home. I first thought that he was here for me, but I had no idea why. He recognized me also and looked absolutely in shock. He then asked for my friend Lewis, which troubled me even more. He explained that he was the executor of his aunt. Remember that I met this friend in a town far away totally by chance.
Starting point is 00:21:38 After he left, I had to share this with my friend Louis, who was as amazed as I was. Well, all things were good, and I was doing a lot better after the messy divorce. I felt liberated, ready to start over. My depression was just a bad memory. I was working again with my mom and her pet shop, a small business that I helped her start before my wedding five years ago. I got a PC with internet, which was still new to me at the time. I had made an account on a meeting site in hopes of finding a new relationship. I felt ready. I was discussing with this guy, let's call him Steve. Steve and I ended up having a lot in common,
Starting point is 00:22:22 the love of nature and animals, literature and ecology. We decided to meet in person and we clicked fast. He lived in a town about half an hour's drive from my apartment, and we often went to each other's places. His first visit to my home, and Steve was surprised to see that I lived near his mother, who had a small house on the other side of the street. That was the third coincidence in a short period of time, and I was beginning to find them a bit creepy, to be honest. It felt so strange, and I was uneasy about all of this. I told myself that life can be strange sometimes, and well, those things happen. I was in a good place mentally and emotionally. I just wanted to forget about this.
Starting point is 00:23:10 I was telling my dad about Steve, happy to have found someone nice, when he told me that his last name was familiar. He asked me if his father was, by any chance, named Joseph. I didn't know, so later I asked him, and indeed his father was Joseph. My dad explained to me that his brother went to school with him and that my father himself was in the Boy Scouts with Joseph's brother. At this point, I just had to accept that the world is smaller than we think. But what were the chances of meeting someone online, whose mom lives in front of me
Starting point is 00:23:46 and whose dad went to school with my uncle? It was maybe a week later that the last coincidence happened. It was at a party that my boyfriend had organized and the woods, a small property that he owns. I was there with my friend Lewis and a bunch of other people. We were having fun, installing tents and preparing dinner on camping stoves, when a new guy came by the small path leading to the road. I took a quick look and froze. Standing there was Eric. Eric and I were in the same theater class, in the equivalent of pre-university or professional school, I think. It was like seven years ago.
Starting point is 00:24:26 I asked him what he was doing there, happy to see him again after all this time, but was really surprised. He told me that he was Steve's brother. At this point, I gave up. I just tried to enjoy the evening without thinking how all of this was possible. After that night, there really weren't any other coincidences. Nothing strange happened, except this one time the same summer, Lewis and I went into Gospessi, a thousand kilometers away from home. On the beach, I met a couple with a dog,
Starting point is 00:24:59 and this couple were clients of my mom's pet store. That was the last event of the series. I did break up with Steve, and I met someone new a few months later, and I'm still with him to this day, with three teenagers in a big house in the country. My mom's pet store is long closed, and I do miss it. Sometimes I think about this period of my life, and I think it was a way from life to tell me,
Starting point is 00:25:23 that I was where I was supposed to be, that nothing happened for nothing. Everything is related and has a purpose. I was depressed, alone, vulnerable, and thought about ending it. But life put Lewis in my path and let me know that all will be fine. Or maybe I live in an alternate reality and another dimension. Maybe I didn't get better in the original one. Who knows, really? I hope that you all like my story, and I know that it's not the scariest, but I am curious to know if anyone else has had that many coincidences in this short of a lapse of time.
Starting point is 00:26:03 And I wish you well, signed to Isabel. Hi, Raven. I love listening to all of these stories. It brings back things we seem to overlook. We don't know how to explain them, so we just simply push them aside. Anyway, this actually happened many years ago. It was actually around 1980. We had moved into this house after being kicked out of a home. That home, a friend of my dad's had given him. But being that he never signed any paperwork, his wife, being racist, kicked us out after he passed away.
Starting point is 00:26:49 Anyway, we moved into this small place that I'd never heard of. We lived in the country all our lives, and my brother worked late hours. during the summer months. One night, I thought I heard him come home around midnight. I was never really able to sleep, and I think I was around 12 or 13 at this time. Anyway, I got up and went to the living room, and you won't believe what I saw. My brother wasn't home, but I looked at his room, which was off the living room, and I could see this guy walking around in there with an old-fashioned lantern.
Starting point is 00:27:24 silly me at the time I thought it was strange but I also thought that maybe it was him anyway I go back to my room and go to bed and around 2 a.m. I hear the door and it's my brother just getting home. I'm like what? So I get up and ask him, I thought you came in around midnight. Of course he thought I was crazy and just sent me to bed. So then later I'm left with just trying to figure out what I was looking at the night before. We had lights in the house, so why would he be using a lantern? And what was this guy looking for? He was my brother's size, so I just assumed it was him.
Starting point is 00:28:09 Did I get some kind of glimpse of the past? Because it was most certainly strange to see, for a child at least, in the middle of the night, something like that. Just a side note, my brother never left his door open, so... How could I see into his room? And when he came home, the door was still locked. Crazy. Two and five Canadians will hear the words, you have cancer.
Starting point is 00:28:42 That's why every step and dollar raised matters. On September 19th, join thousands in Toronto for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation walk. Starting point is 00:29:14 I get it. I'm Siaya and I live in Ice Cove. I've made some questionable decisions that didn't end up the way I planned. And today I'm still figuring it out. Somehow things usually get worse before they get better. Apparently, that's how I roll. So bundle up and come along for the bumpy ride. Stream a new episode of North of North Tuesdays on CBC Gem.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Hey, Raven, I hope you're well. Doing pretty well, thank you. I love listening to your videos, and I appreciate that you give us a space to share our weird stories. A while back, you shared a story from a person who lost their beloved cat and decided to end their own life from the grief, which introduced me to the concept of quantum immortality. I think that's what happened to me, too.
Starting point is 00:30:03 I want to start this by explaining some things they're crucial to this experience. First, it's my belief that my existence as a human being is a punishment. I don't recognize my soul or self to be human, but rather something older than time and straight from the universe. No idea what I did to anger the others and earn this experience, but here I am anyway. Second, I believe in a concept that's a mix of both free will and predestination, and almost Also neither. We have the freedom to make our own choices, but the choices that we make affect what happens next, which can change reality and timelines.
Starting point is 00:30:43 It's like a spider-web crack in a windshield. The center point of impact is the event and all the cracks that branch off from that center are all the ways one might react to the event. This might not make sense, and I apologize if it doesn't. Actually it does. It's very similar to the many worlds theory, which is basically every one. Every decision and action causes a new break in the timeline to a new timeline. And every split in the timeline, there's one existence where something did happen and one where
Starting point is 00:31:14 it didn't. I use timeline there incorrectly. It's more like branching realities. But anyway, back to the story. So that brings me to the actual story. In 2010, my sophomore year of high school, I was incredibly depressed and at a new school. I hated it so bad that by the third day, I was begging my parents to take me out. They told me I had to stay there for the entirety of the school year, but that I could go to a different school in 2011.
Starting point is 00:31:43 I decided that if they wouldn't listen to me, I would make them hear me. Christmas Eve, 2010, I overdosed on Benadryl and went to bed. I had picked Christmas Eve to do so because, in my selfish teenage brain, if I didn't get to enjoy Christmas, then nobody got to. to. Christmas morning, I woke up and I was pissed that it didn't work. It made me even more depressed than I already was. To circle back to the bit about my human experience being punishment, here's what I think actually happened. The Benadryl did work, and I did pass at that point, but because I tried to end my sentence early, I got shoved back into my human body. Except because
Starting point is 00:32:26 that human body that I was originally put in was no longer alive, I couldn't go back to that one, So they started me from that save point, I guess you could call it. But it was in a reality so similar that nobody would notice unless they knew what to look for. My evidence for that is circumstantial at best. I have memories of things nobody else in my family remembers. My brother doesn't remember the time he tried to choke me out in an Arby's lobby because he got upset at me. Or the time that he kicked me so hard in the sternum that it altered the shape of my ribcage. My mom doesn't remember the time she yelled at my dad for calling me stupid.
Starting point is 00:33:05 And yeah, I know that brains are faulty and lose memory files all the time. My mom also remembers things that I don't. It's never like the big and important things either, just little things. I am able to astral travel and visit that timeline in my dream, but it's like I'm just a spectator looking in on it. Only one other person has ever acknowledged my presence there, and we used to meet up in the astral to hang out and catch up on things that I should have experienced there. The rest of that point is irrelevant to this one and a story all on its own. But I've come to realize that the reason why I'm always ignored when I go back there is because I'm just a ghost. It's like the movie It's a Wonderful Life.
Starting point is 00:33:52 I'm an invisible NPC in a world that I've left. left behind. There isn't really a conclusion to this because I'm still trying to come to terms with it all while I find out more about quantum immortality and multiverses and all this stuff. I've believed in the multiverse forever, but I didn't really think that it would ever happen to me. I do have more bits and pieces to the story that I chose not to include because this is already long enough as it is. And none of them really fit into any themes of this channel. Try me. So thank you for making it to the end of this weirdness, and I'm sorry if it's a bit jumbled. I want to interject one more time to Stellan, the original author of the story who submitted it in.
Starting point is 00:34:39 I hope you're doing better. I hope that you have found help, or if you need help, I hope that you do find it. And just, yeah, I hope you're doing better, friend. Please remember the world is a better place with you in it, and I mean that every time I say. it. I don't know how many years I've listened to you. I think I started listening during the pandemic. Anyway, this is the first glitchy thing that has me shook, making it the first time I felt compelled to type it all out. Weird stuff happens to me all the time, but I've never been freaked out like this. It happened less than an hour ago, but I know if I don't email this now, it'll never happen.
Starting point is 00:35:30 So I'm on my way home from another city. Round trip, it's two hours if traffic is bad. I didn't lose time, by the way. My last stop was the grocery store. I did that and realized when I was back on my way that I had forgotten bread. I passed several Dollar Generals on my way, and I told myself that I would stop at one of those on the same side of the highway as I was traveling,
Starting point is 00:35:55 so I didn't have to cross four lanes of traffic so many times. It was ten minutes from my house. And then this is when something happened. I didn't notice anything except when I left the store. My body naturally went to where I parked. My car wasn't there. I was in a hurry to get home because of the other stops. I just turn around and see my car on the opposite side of the parking lot.
Starting point is 00:36:23 I didn't notice that I was at a Dollar General's store 20 minutes in the other direction. I was driving the correct direction home, and suddenly I was 20 minutes in the wrong direction. I couldn't have made it to the Dollar General that I walked out of. It was on the other side of the highway, that I did not cross. I was traveling in the opposite direction of my home in a place 20 minutes away from me. I felt so sick like I was going to throw up when I had to stop my vehicle and turn around. I don't know if it was nausea from a timeline malfunction or, or, I don't know if it was nausea from a timeline malfunction or jump or quantum mortality, or maybe just my anxiety from thinking I just got abducted.
Starting point is 00:37:04 I got home and I checked my bank transactions to see what dollar general I made the purchases at. It was the one that I knew I parked at, very near my house. My body has never felt the way it felt when I realized something very weird happened to me on my way home today in rural southeast Tennessee. The sick feeling also happened when I passed the dollar store that I knew. knew I went to, but didn't leave from. Two weird things. The first, when my car was in the wrong spot,
Starting point is 00:37:35 and that was because I was transported to the wrong dollar store. But I left traveling in the right direction that I automatically got in, and I headed towards home again. Second, I was suddenly traveling away from my house, not towards it. In the blink of an eye, I was in another location going the opposite way from my house. I'm more calm now, but I don't know what happened. And it actually scared me. This literally happened to me today.
Starting point is 00:38:16 It had elements which can be explained by skeptics by saying that this or that usual thing did happen. But for me, this was very unusual and I can't explain it away. As a little background info, I need to tell you that I've been struggling health-wise for a few years. Everything is under control by doctors, but the path has been long and we're still trying to figure out all the right diagnoses. This is giving me worry and anxiety relating to work and income, as I'm currently unemployed and don't know who would want to hire a sick person. I come by okay, but I don't want to live the rest of my life in poverty while rotting at home. So it's been rough, and the future doesn't look any brighter at this moment. It's been hard to keep up a positive mindset and have energy, but I can't give up.
Starting point is 00:39:12 To ease up my financial situation, I made myself a money spell yesterday. I mixed together rice, different seasoning, cinnamon sticks, and coins, and decorated the spells with amulets representing wealth. I'm still a baby when it comes to spells, so I hope this one works. If nothing else, it looks pretty and smells nice with all the cinnamon, clove, and ginger. Today I woke up earlier than usual because I was hungry. I got up, made myself breakfast, but instead of going back to bed, I idled in front of my laptop after eating, reading the news and sitting in silence. I live on the highest floor of a small apartment building, which is really quiet, especially during summer weekends when people traditionally travel to the countryside.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Quiet weekends are one of the best things here, and very often I'm pretty much the only person in the whole building on summer weekends. That weekend was no different. It was quiet, and I was all by myself in the whole building. Then my doorbell rang. I was confused because no one should be coming to my door. I'm not expecting anyone. No one has a spare key to get inside. the front door of this building is always locked,
Starting point is 00:40:31 and it can be opened only by a number code, which outsiders don't know, or with a key. All apartments on my home street have their own individual entry codes and keys so you can't go into a neighboring building without your building's code or that key. The number code for front doors is changed regularly, too, for safety reasons. So, the options were that the person ringing my doorbells from maintenance, or my landlord, or a neighbor from the same building. I wasn't expecting maintenance.
Starting point is 00:41:04 They always announced their visits a few days prior. I wasn't expecting my landlord either, and he and his wife never come to visit, and for the two times they needed to come to see me in the past ten years, we've agreed upon the meeting days prior via email. I was worried that perhaps I had unintentionally disturbed one of my neighbors, or maybe the laundry room had some issues and a neighbor wants to let me know about it. I opened a door and behind it stood a tall man in his 50s. He had brown short hair and glasses, and he was wearing jeans and a button-up shirt.
Starting point is 00:41:42 Since I didn't know him, and I'm a woman living by myself, not wanting to take risks with unknown men twice my size standing right behind my door, I quickly took the paper he was handing to me. He wished me a good day, and I did the same, closing the door. The paper in my hand turned out to be a religious tiny pamphlet, just a small little square paper. So he was a preacher. I have no idea how he got in, because, as I said, the front door is always locked. I haven't given the door code to outsiders or my information to any churches.
Starting point is 00:42:17 I'm not the member of any congregation. I don't participate in any religious activities online. or outside the internet. I've not gotten any new neighbors who would have had a preacher trying to convince this neighbor to join his congregation. What's very strange is that I didn't hear him ringing anyone else's doorbell, just mine. He didn't drop anything through my neighbor's mail hatches either because the hatches are located on doors, and they make a rattling sound when they're opened. I heard nothing after I closed my door.
Starting point is 00:42:51 So, how did he choose my apartment? I live on the highest floor and my apartment is the third last in this building. He had had a chance to stop during bells a few floors before reaching my door, but he didn't. Not before and not after. Also, this is the first time that there was a preacher or a missionary in our building. It's never happened before in the ten years I've lived here. I took a closer look at the religious pamphlet and it said, hang on a little longer and then all the evil and bad will be permanently gone.
Starting point is 00:43:26 The humble people will inherit the land, and they will rejoice in great peace. On the other side, the pamphlet said, Together with His Kingdom of Heaven, God will soon arrange a great happy solution. It also had the numbers 23, my birthday, and 11, my life journey's number and numerology. I couldn't help but feel that a mysterious preacher who somehow gets inside through all locks and rings only my apartment's doorbell, and then hands me a paper saying just a little longer, all bad will soon be gone, and you'll be happy with a happy solution, because this is God's will, is not a coincidence.
Starting point is 00:44:07 I felt like I had visited a messenger from the other side. It was thrilling and very humbling. I sat down with my tarot cards to get more information of this synchronicity, and a mysterious preacher who can walk through walls, it seems. Like, does it even have a meaning? Or maybe it's nothing. The card said that I've been in bad turmoil, tired, exhausted, and in pain for a long time, and that a decision had been made for you by God and you're to peacefully wait for its arrival. True. My health issues and thus financial troubles have been going on for years. The last six years have been especially hard.
Starting point is 00:44:50 and this year has been the worst. It is fitting that such a message would be delivered to be through a preacher, the literal mouthpiece of God. I then asked what is this decision that has been made if I'm allowed to know. The answer was extreme happiness and the deepest wishes coming through, which end your poverty and time of struggle. I guess I don't even want to know more details. It would spoil the surprise.
Starting point is 00:45:18 happy, I took a look at the pamphlet again, feeling grateful that I'm watched over like this. Even when I'm not religious, God sends me a personal message in an unexpected way, so that I can't ignore or miss it. I noticed that the paper had number of sequences on it, 3710 and 244. These are called angel numbers, and it's not unheard of for me to receive them. I checked if the numbers would have any additional information, support, or messages. 3710 is universal love and harmony in that higher forces are watching over you. It creates life changes for the better, and removes all worries and fears. 244 is the past's hard work being rewarded in a notion that everything is possible.
Starting point is 00:46:07 I guess I'll patiently await the change for the better, which will end this hard season, and bring into fruition, dreams, and better finances. This happened when I was 22 and had just gone through a breakup with my long-distance boyfriend. I'd been saving up to go visit him in his home country, but after the breakup, I decided to use the money to explore Europe. While on my trip, I learned that my favorite musical artist had unfortunately passed. I decided I would go out that day and find something that would be a memento for my trip, but would also honor the musician.
Starting point is 00:46:55 I found a beautiful handmade crescent moon necklace and knew that this was what I was looking for. The moon was an important symbol for this musician. Fast forward three years later, and I'm now married and my husband and I have just moved to our first house. To celebrate, we go out to eat, and I put on that crescent moon necklace. After dinner, I remove my jewelry and lay everything out on the counter. This is important. I have OCD and always lay my jewelry. on the countertop and count it before putting it away. The next day, I look for my necklace in the jewelry box and it's not there.
Starting point is 00:47:34 I search the whole house and I can't find it anywhere. Months go by and I start to question if it had fallen off at dinner and I just didn't notice. It's not impossible, but given my OCD, there's no way I wouldn't have noticed that a piece of jewelry was missing. I counted everything when I got home like I opened. always do, and it was definitely there. Now, years later, I'm converting my office into a nursery. I find a box in the closet that was never opened after the move. Inside is a small glass bowl wrapped in plastic. It's just a bowl of junk that we never got around to throwing out, old cords, bobby pins, coins. I open it up and mixed in with all the junk is my necklace. I'm confused,
Starting point is 00:48:25 I wore the necklace after we finished moving. How could it possibly be in this bowl? I don't know how it happened, but I am so glad to have my necklace back. Hey, Raven. First of all, thank you for sharing my first entry about a year ago. It wasn't the wildest glitch, but I was so excited to have some sort of experience, oddly. I didn't think I'd be writing to you again, but here I am. I live in a small city, if you can call it that. and am a total creature of habit. My job and my dad's house are both in the same direction for my apartment, North. I always either take Main Street or the neighborhood route, depending on small factors,
Starting point is 00:49:17 like, if I need an extra minute or two to finish my cigarette or have police anxiety. Not that I'm doing anything wrong, but I'm so disorganized that I don't even know where my insurance is, but that's beside the point. My two younger half-siblings lived in a house on this street with their paternal dad and stepmom for many years. And although I've never been inside the house, it's become a recognizable structure in my day-to-day. I know their now ex-stepmom, let's call her Rebecca, has moved to Texas but still owns the property. I've seen work being done in the house here and there, and I've naturally assumed she was giving in an update or something like that. I don't take this street every day, so I'm not catching glimpses of progress and not really taking notes.
Starting point is 00:50:07 Just filing away a detail my brain can definitely afford to miss. Well, it's been months, but last week I had to go back to the bank to pull some cash for my rent. My landlord's old. I'm 33, but feel old, so, yeah, there's no tap to pay happening here. The bank's ATM is also a few blocks north, but I take the backroad route to enjoy a sig, and scenery. When I passed where Rebecca's house was on the corner, though, I noticed it was just a lot. Not completely cleared out, but still no structure in place. And I assumed she maybe sold the small piece of land or something and was relinquishing her ties to the town. She's a smart woman and business savvy, so it made sense. Fast forward to today, I'm again taking the long
Starting point is 00:50:55 way to my dad's because he saves rules of quarters for me to do laundry. I get it. I'm 33, why is he providing any assistance? But he's just that kind of dad. But on my way to his place, I noticed Rebecca's house in the corner was back to the state I had seen it in before. It was still seemingly being worked on in some capacity. I didn't see a single worker, but the place was still there. Immediately, I thought that was a glitch. But I questioned if I was sure.
Starting point is 00:51:27 Undoubtedly, yes. I wouldn't have even made the mental note that she was business savvy if I didn't take in the likely sold lot. I wouldn't have even noticed a big change in the property because it's been seemingly in the same state for months. I wouldn't even really recognize the place if it wasn't for the personal ties to it via my siblings. It would have been cool if she did sell it, and I would have been interested to see who came in and what would have been built, but now I wish she would just finish the job so I can stop looking and wondering, what I'm gonna see next. When this started, I was minding my own business, as usual, walking into my room.
Starting point is 00:52:16 And I remembered something in my head, like seeing Captain America fighting himself. And the crazy part is that I don't remember the trailers having Steve fighting himself, and for some reason, I think I saw some part of Avengers Endgame. I knew how it would have ended, but it wasn't even out. And a year later is when the movie trailers came out, and there were no scenes where Steve fought himself. As soon as the movie was released into theaters, it felt so familiar. It felt like everything I thought had come true. And I kind of freaked out.
Starting point is 00:52:54 I told my parents about it and they thought it was crazy. It said that we hadn't watched Endgame before it was in theaters, but for some reason, I knew how it ended. Was I in a parallel universe? where I already saw the movie, or was I just dreaming? Either way, this just remains a mystery for me. This is a glitch story, and it was in 1995. I was six years old, watching television with my older brother, while my mom cooked in the kitchen
Starting point is 00:53:33 next door. I was sat on one sofa, my brother was sat on the other one, and I remember there were toys and games lying around. We watched a lot of TV, my brother and I, and we had access to to Sky so we could get Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, whatever, and we kind of bonded over endless TV. Growing up in the sticks with two busy parents that worked, there wasn't a whole lot else to do on weekends. The TV played cartoon after cartoon. My brother adjusted the volume and channel hopped and people came in the living room and left again. My bored, short attention span brain, started to become done with the TV. Maybe I'd seen this cartoon before,
Starting point is 00:54:17 and I recall looking out the window at the cars gliding past in the summer weather, when a strange voice began to come from somewhere. It snapped my attention back from the window, and it was an ad on the TV. The ad looked dated, even in the 90s. This was a decade or two out of sync with the Super Soaker ads or the Talk Boy ads, the kinds of things you'd expect in the 90s on Cartoon Network. On the screen was a bowl of something yellow, a banana colored something like a pudding. The sound quality was so old-fashioned that even me, a six-year-old, Ketella didn't fit in with the rest of the world of 1995.
Starting point is 00:54:55 It had my full attention, and I imagine that my mouth probably wasn't fully closed. Is it chocolate? Is it strawberry? No, Gloop. A British voice narrated. He was a middle-aged man. posh, like a TV advert-style posh, in that he was putting the accent on a little. I remember thinking, that's a weird word, what even is that? It didn't look appetizing at all.
Starting point is 00:55:22 The camera cut to a picture of a milk carton, and it's made with fresh milk, said the voice. Then a boy about my age was eating this gloop. In between mouthfuls of this weird synthetic-looking pudding, he said something to the camera, something like, tasty and nutrition. and then we cut to an array of the gloop. It was a table with bowls of pink, yellow, brown, and white pudding products, all made with fresh milk, apparently, and the narrator wasn't done. And it's in supermarkets now, gloop.
Starting point is 00:55:56 I remember to this day the way that he said that. It was a sing-song way of saying. It's like a stereotypical Scandinavian accent. And that was it. Next advert. Except there isn't such a product and there never was. There never has been a product called Gloop like that. Why would there be?
Starting point is 00:56:19 Angel Delight dominates that market here in the UK, and that's made with fresh milk. Me and my brother both still speak of this weird advert all these years later. I brought it up to a work colleague and they don't remember it. I searched for it online and of course there's no trace, So, was this a joint hallucination, or was it some kind of parody on TV at the time? It seems unlikely. Was it chocolate?
Starting point is 00:56:46 Was it strawberry? No, it was gloop. Hello Raven. The following story happened about two years ago, and investigating it is how I ended up finding your channel and entering the glitch in the Matrix Rabbit Hole. I remained on the quest to find someone who's had an experience similar to this. I've told several people about this event in detail, and the reactions are always somewhere between freaked out and doubting my credibility. But I'm finally writing this definitive version of the story,
Starting point is 00:57:29 because I want people to know that somehow, despite the complete impossibility of it, this 100% actually happened. I'm not a super religious person, and would in fact consider myself a man of science. But at nearly 41 years old, as of right now, it remains the single most unbelievable thing I've ever witnessed, and fits its own new category of experiences that I now refer to as, quote, confirmed miracles. So far, this is the only thing in that category for me. And you'll see what I mean. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this for your viewers, as it is quite long.
Starting point is 00:58:10 And to add a trigger warning, the story does contain top. including animal illness and death from natural causes. For the last several years, up until very recently, our family kept backyard chickens. The kids loved them. We enjoyed the fresh eggs and comical antics, and it was overall a really great experience. But reality seemed to break down a few times when dealing with the daily goings-on of owning them long-term. We treated our birds like pets. Each hen had a name, and we spent enough time with them to really, get to know each one's unique personality. Some of them we raised from chicks while others we adopted as mature hens. One particular chicken we adopted was a one-year-old white leghorn named
Starting point is 00:58:57 Portia, who I jokingly used to refer to as my would-be soulmate if I had been born a rooster. I have a weird sense of humor. She had a comically tall comb and was the Karen of our flock. Portia was always on edge and making the biggest deal out of the smallest things. One day, after owning her for a few years, as chickens sometimes do, out of absolutely nowhere, Portia suddenly and sadly became very sick.
Starting point is 00:59:28 The first thing we noticed was her acting visibly ill and other birds starting to pick on her. She quickly became lethargic, unable to move herself around quickly, and she had stopped defending herself from attacks by her peers just due to a total inability to escape them. Chickens can be brutal to each other.
Starting point is 00:59:48 This required her to be quarantined away from the rest of the flock until she either got better or passed. And it was clearly not looking good. In addition to the main chicken coop, we had an extra smaller wooden coop already set up from back when we previously owned only three hens. Most of the flock still used the smaller coop's nest as their main egg box, so the other birds would have to lay their eggs somewhere else until
Starting point is 01:00:14 Portia left quarantine for better or for worse, and all the wood-shaving beddings were changed to avoid infecting the rest of the flock with whatever she had. How this extra coop was set up is paramount to understanding the glitch, so bear with me here. It was a two-story type of backyard chicken coop that they frequently sell at tractor supply in similar stores, which have an enclosed but open-air chicken run as the ground level with a ramp leading up to a single, small-inclusive room with an egg box, consisting of two nests, as well as a few roosting poles for the chickens to roost on. The second-floor roosting room had a wooden-framed metal floor that could be slid out for cleaning, and doing so requires a lot of force due to the wood-on-wood friction.
Starting point is 01:01:04 The small sliding door at the top of the ramp leading down into the run was only operable by humans via a handle that extended outside the coop. The run was enclosed on all sides, with very strong steel wire mesh, and has its own locking gate to allow the birds into and out of the run itself for wider foraging. For clarity, with the exception of the egg box, which overhung one end, the run extended the full length of the structure, including the area directly below the roosting room on top from where the ramp came. The roosting room, on top also had its own elevated door to the exterior, which was mostly for human access, for cleaning or adding or removing birds from the coop.
Starting point is 01:01:49 Some listeners should know exactly the type of coop I'm talking about. It was in good working order, there were no points of failure, except that the ramp itself had fallen apart sometime prior, and was no longer there, and the handle to open and close the sliding door at the top of the ramp had fallen apart. This didn't affect the coop's utility or integrity. None of our birds were small enough to need the ramp, and the sliding door still worked fine, as long as you reached through the little human access door to operate it. Adult birds could easily just jump up and down into and out of the run straight through the defunct ramp's door when it was left open.
Starting point is 01:02:28 The run was entirely predator-proof. Nothing was getting in or out, and I promise all of this matters. This is where it gets crazy. Porsche's first night in quarantine was uneventful. She stayed in the nesting box, locked in the upper room of the backup coop with all doors closed and locked. She was in such terrible shape by the next day that I had started to get quite upset about one of my favorite chicken friends suddenly dying such a horrible death. I hated seeing her suffer. So, the second evening of quarantine while crying about it all, I asked God,
Starting point is 01:03:06 to give me a sign if I should go ahead and euthanize her so she wouldn't continue to suffer. Then, just like the first night, I made sure Portia was inside the backup Coup's egg box. I made sure the ramp door was closed as well as that gate from the run to the exterior was locked. Portia was safe and secure inside the little wooden room, so I said what I thought would probably be my last goodbye to her and then shut and locked the little elevated human access door. Once I laid down in bed that night, I distinctly remember wishing that I would have left the ramp door open. The reason was that it would at least have given her some fresh air because she'd honestly started to stink at that point, and there was really no point in leaving the ramp door to the run closed.
Starting point is 01:03:53 The run was fully protected from predators. She was completely unable to walk and had been unable to eat or drink for a few days now. her end was certainly near so I really regretted not just leaving it open so that she would get that fresh air but it was super late I was quite tired and I honestly just wanted her to go ahead and pass since there are no viable treatment options for a chicken that's that sick terribly upset I finally fell asleep the next morning I almost immediately looked out our bedroom window from which the whole chicken enclosure was visible And to my amazement, I saw what looked like Portia lying inside the run of the backup coop.
Starting point is 01:04:38 My first thought was, oh, thank goodness, I forgot to close the ramp door. But I thought about it some more and distinctly remembered closing that ramp door, so how did she get down there? There's no way that even a healthy chicken could open that door. It simply would require far too much force. I must have forgotten to close it in order for her to have had a path down. down into the run. As I got dressed, I thought, but how on earth was she even able to walk? This made no sense to me because she was deathly ill, and had almost certainly at best fell out the ramp door into the run. Perhaps she had one last burst of energy as some animals seemed to have
Starting point is 01:05:20 just prior to passing, and maybe charged to the door and fell down into the run. So was she lying down there dead. I mentally prepared myself to bury the little feathered friend as I headed outside to investigate. Within a few moments, as I approached the enclosure and climbed over the fence to get closer, I noticed that it was indeed Portia lying there inside the run. She was on the opposite end of the run from where the ramp used to lead, so if she had jumped or fallen out the ramp door, she had to have walked to where she was lying now. She was doing. She was directly underneath the roosting room, just inches from being right underneath where I left her the night before. She was lying on her side, apparently lifeless.
Starting point is 01:06:09 I swallowed and said, Portia, are you alive? A full second or two went by, and then she opened one eye and looked at me. And then she closed it again. I said, how in the world did you even get down there? No response. From the angle I was standing, the ramp door was not visible from outside the run. Portia was still clearly on death's doorsteps, so I couldn't figure out how she walked at all, let alone how she jumped down from the ramp
Starting point is 01:06:40 door and walked over to where she was now, or how the ramp door was somehow open at all. Then I thought about it all again. It seems so strange that I would have been worried the night before about leaving a door closed when I'd actually left it open. Something just felled off. So I reached over and unlocked the elevated human access door to investigate how Portia managed to get into the run. When I opened it, the hairs all over my body stood up. The ramp door, her only way down into the run, was tightly closed.
Starting point is 01:07:17 I think my first words were, oh my God. Mind blown doesn't even do it justice, Raven. I remember saying, loud and clear, Lord, over and over that morning, I remember that morning. as I prepared to euthanize my friend. I've gone over it in my head for the past two years, and I'm no closer to an explanation for how this was possible. If she had somehow managed to exert enough force to lift the hinged egg box lid open enough to escape, something even a healthy hen can't do,
Starting point is 01:07:48 that would have left her on the outside of the run with no open path back inside. If she somehow managed to open the sliding door enough to go through it, It would have been impossible for her to close it again because she physically couldn't reach it from down in the run. It's a door they had to jump into and up to, and chickens simply don't operate sliding doors, much less one they can't reach. If someone tried to steal Portia before realizing she was sick, why would they not just put her back into the egg box the same way they presumably grabbed her? Why would they take the time to unlock the run gate and put her into the bottom of the coop? They simply wouldn't do that. So I'm left with only one conclusion.
Starting point is 01:08:33 My chicken somehow no-clipped through the floor. Has anybody else ever experienced anything like this? Hi, Raven. I was listening to your podcast, and one of the stories reminded me of something that happened to a classmate of mine. Let's call him Matt, back in 1984, when we were nine years old. I wasn't there at the exact moment that he and three other children experienced the glitch. I was, however, witnessed to the overwhelming excitement that followed as Matt and the others came running up the hill, his hands covered in sand, shouting about having found something.
Starting point is 01:09:22 And by the looks on their faces, they had just experienced something that they could barely bring themselves to believe. It all started out as a run-of-the-mill school excursion. We piled into the bus and got strapped in for what was, at that age, a grueling one-and-a-half-hour trip to the south coast of Tasmania. Our destination, a lightly wooded clearing adjacent to the beach. Our teachers had planned out a day of activities that included a treasure hunt, making bark rubbings and other things you can do at a beach without actually going into the water. Bummer, we all thought, but nonetheless, it was a pretty cool excursion. After a few hours, which at that age felt like 15 minutes, it was time to return to school. In order to reach the bus and the parking lot, we had to walk along the beach for about 50 meters,
Starting point is 01:10:15 and then ascend a walking track which skirted around and uphill, providing amazing views of the ocean below. Just as I reached the top of the first incline, Matt and the others came running up the hill, excited, and out of breath. in a state of confusion and bewilderment. I just found my wallet, gasped Matt. Oh, you dropped it? I asked. No, we were walking on the beach and I saw something sticking out of the sand. When I dug it out, it was my wallet. Matt exclaimed.
Starting point is 01:10:47 So? It's my wallet that I lost three years ago in Swansea. Yeah, right, I said doubtfully. It's true, exclaimed one of the others. No, you buried it, I said, searching for an explanation that my little brain could accept. No, I didn't, he said, as he held up a very dilapidated-looking wallet. He opened it, and inside I could see his name written in faded ink. And that's when it started to sink in.
Starting point is 01:11:18 What Matt was saying was surely impossible, wasn't it? Swansea was over 200 kilometers away. And somehow what? The ocean had carried it here only for him to find it three years' long. later? And only then, because he happened to see the smallest portion of it protruding from the sand. But here it was, and here he was, with multiple witnesses who just watched him dig up his lost wallet. The teacher shrugged it off as a coincidence, albeit a very unlikely one. However, to us kids with all of our innocence, and our minds still open to the endless possibilities
Starting point is 01:11:55 of life, it was proof of something, something that in that moment we all knew to be true. That is that there is magic in this world. Hello there, friends, Raven here.
