Starting point is 00:00:00 If you have a true scary story you'd like to share with the podcast, go to as-the-ravendreams.com and click the button to send it my way. Also, if the platform you're on has the option to rate the podcast or leave a comment, please consider doing so. And as always, thank you. I have a weird thing that happened with myself and my mother that I don't know if it's a glitch in the matrix or some kind of parallel universe situation. But it was weird as hell. And honestly, it freaked me out. So, to give you just a bit of perspective and show you how things are normally, I live about an hour or so away from my parents.
Starting point is 00:00:54 And we're all really close. I have always been super close with my mom, and I genuinely love my dad. So when I moved out, things were very difficult for all. of us. Because of that, we made a promise that we would meet up every other weekend on Sunday for dinner. That way, we got to see each other on a regular basis, but it wasn't too intrusive, and no one had to drive too much to make it work. Of course, it was always me driving to their place, so it was more to help me not have to spend too much on gas. Now, there have been very few
Starting point is 00:01:36 instances where I was unable to make it, or had an issue that would prevent me from driving over to their place, and if that happened, we would either put it off a week, or they would come over to my place. Usually, we would just push it off to the next week, but they had been over once or twice. On these days, I would always leave at one in the afternoon to be there around two, and I would stay until around 10, basically spending all afternoon and evening with them. If I was running late, I would always call them to let them know, or if we had to cancel, I would call them. All right, so that all out there.
Starting point is 00:02:24 There was what I guess you would call an event that happened during one of our weekends last year that was really, really weird. It was in October. Because it was starting to get cooler, but it wasn't yet snowing. On this particular weekend, that Sunday, to be exact, I was leaving the grocery store and had somehow managed to get a large roofing nail in my tire. Not sure how, but that's not really important. I just got home and saw that there was a decent-sized nail in the side of the tire.
Starting point is 00:03:00 I did the whole check thing with soapy water, and sure enough, it was bubbling. so not only was there a nail, it was leaking air. Because of where the nail was, I wasn't willing to drive and have it potentially cause a blowout. So, I called my mom's cell phone to let her know that I wasn't going to make it. Strangely enough, she didn't answer. I figured that she was probably busy, so I called my dad and he also did not answer. At this point, I was a little bit confused. But again, they're adults.
Starting point is 00:03:40 They aren't always glued to their phones, so I assumed that they were just really busy with something else. I called my mom's phone one more time, and I decided to leave a voicemail. I remember what I said in this voicemail verbatim. And yes, that is actually important to this event. I said, Hey, Mom, I wanted to call and let you guys know that we're going to have to cancel this weekend. I have a nail in my tire. I'm going to take it in this week, so we can just meet up next Sunday instead.
Starting point is 00:04:17 I said those exact words, and I know that was what I said, because it's what happened. After that, I went about my business, made myself dinner, did some work, and then, went to bed. Cue the next morning, where all hell had seemingly broken loose, I woke up to multiple texts and missed calls from my mother, but all of them were from that morning, around five or six in the morning. I immediately called my mom to check in, thinking that something had happened, and she asked me if I was okay.
Starting point is 00:04:59 I told her I was fine and I asked her what was going on. She then asked me why I never showed up last night and why I hadn't been answering my phone. I told her that I never got a call from her last night and then I mentioned the voicemail that I left for her asking if she got it. That's when it got weird. She said, the voicemail you left saying you were running late? I was a bit confused.
Starting point is 00:05:29 but then said, no, the voicemail where I said I wasn't going to make it at all, because there was a nail in my tire. We went back and forth on this for a while, but really weren't getting anywhere. So, I asked her if she and dad wanted to drive up for lunch or something, since I was going to take that day off, to which she agreed. They drove up, we went to get food, and then I decided to ask about what was going on that previous night, and I was blown away by what she said. My mom said that at around 11 that morning, she had gotten a voicemail from me that said I was
Starting point is 00:06:11 running late, and that I said I would be there around four instead of two. She said that she tried to call me back, but my phone was going straight to voicemail, so she left me a message and then also sent me a text saying that it was okay. 4 o'clock rolled around, and they were concerned. So they tried calling me again, and once more my phone was going straight to voicemail. They had both tried calling and texting me multiple times, but I apparently was not responding to them. She said that they then called my brother, who lives around 15 minutes or so north of me, and asked him to come by and check on me.
Starting point is 00:06:56 He claims that he got here and the lights were off, and that no one answered the door. They said that they had been trying to get a hold of me all night, and had even been calling hospitals and police stations to see if I had been arrested or gotten into an accident. She even showed me her voicemail, and had me listen to it. But it was the weirdest thing, because while I could hear my voice saying I'm running late, it sounded choppy, like it was fading in and out. They showed me all of the outgoing calls and the texts that they sent, and even the timestamp of when they called my brother.
Starting point is 00:07:37 Based on this, he showed up at my house around seven that night, when I was just sitting on my couch and watching Netflix and eating some leftover spaghetti that I had made. I was seriously confused and conflicted, I told them that I had called, and then said that I had said I wasn't going to be there because of the nail in my tire, and I told them that I was home the entire night. Basically, my night was the polar opposite of what they said happened. I was home. No one ever showed up at my door.
Starting point is 00:08:14 It wasn't like my brother went to the wrong place. He comes over all the time, and he definitely knows where I live. So that's my one weird thing that happened to me in my life, and my one experience with parallel universes or matrix glitches or whatever. I lived one night and left a specific message, but for some reason the wires of reality got crossed, and I was stuck in one reality while they were in a completely different one. I have no logical explanation for this.
Starting point is 00:08:51 And if anyone does have any ideas, I would appreciate it. Beyond that, it was just really freaky. I have a fairly strange story about something that happened to me when I was a kid. And it was the first time something like this had ever happened to me. I was around 10 years old, and we had just moved in to a new house in a city, a state or two away, because my mom had taken a promotion at her job, and they wanted to transfer her to the branch that was out here. Obviously, I was a bit devastated as I had to leave the school
Starting point is 00:09:42 that I had been attending for most of my childhood, as well as leave behind my two friends that I'd known since I was a baby. My parents were adamant that I would just make new friends, so I had to suck it up and accept that we were moving. A few weeks after we had moved in, we were walking around the block to introduce ourselves to the neighbors, and a few houses down was a man that worked for the same company as my mom, so basically one of her new co-workers.
Starting point is 00:10:14 He had a son named Chris, which was my name as well, but I was Chris with the K. Not relevant, but as a kid it was the most important thing to me. For some reason, I never really considered Chris to be a good friend, but he was definitely an acquaintance of mine. I ended up being better friends with some of the other kids on the block that I actually met through Chris. After a few months, Chris and I weren't doing much together, but we still talked whenever we saw each other. So we both knew that the other was still alive. There was one day during the summer that a group of us decided we wanted to go swimming down at what was essentially a small pond with a dog.
Starting point is 00:11:02 It was on land that was owned by one of the other guys, Johnny. So we were allowed to mess around in it as much as we wanted to. Altogether, it was about seven of us that headed down to the pond to swim. We were all just swimming and having a good time, mostly just running and doing cannonballs off the dock and into the water. When it was my turn to jump into the water, I got up on the dock and prepared to run. But then, near the edge, I ended up slipping and fell backwards,
Starting point is 00:11:37 hitting my head on the post. When this happened, I remembered slipping, and basically falling in slow motion. Then my head hit the wood. and I remember there just being this sharp pain. The next thing I can recall is falling into the water and not being able to move, like at all. I was staring up at the surface of the water unable to close my eyes,
Starting point is 00:12:07 just thinking about how I was dead. Like I said, I was only 10 or 11 at the time, so I really should have had no frame of reference for what death felt like. but I knew right then and there that I was either dying or had died, and my brain just hadn't powered off yet. I could feel that my lungs were empty, and I remember the taste of water as it filled my mouth. Then I remember seeing Chris swimming down towards me with his hands out,
Starting point is 00:12:41 like he was my savior, and then it all went black. When I woke up, I was lying on the ground outside the pond, with Johnny's parents leaning over me, and the boys all panicking in the background. When I came to, I literally gasped for air, and I remember coughing really hard and spitting out a bunch of water, and I could hear Johnny's dad asking me if I could hear him. I nodded that I could, and just kind of laid there staring up at the sky and watching the clouds. The other boys had gone from panicking to celebrating, I'm guessing because I didn't die.
Starting point is 00:13:22 I remember sitting up and asking what happened. Johnny said that I had slipped and hit my head and then fell into the water. It slowly came back, and I remember finishing off what he said with, oh yeah, and then Chris jumped in to save me. I then looked around to thank him, and I realized he wasn't there. I asked where he went, and they asked where he went, and they all kind of just looked at me. Johnny laughed and said,
Starting point is 00:13:53 dude, you're Chris. To which I said, yeah, no, Chris with a C-H, the other Chris that was here. Nobody had any idea who I was talking about. They all just kind of stared at me and looked around confused. Johnny's dad said that my parents were on their way and that I should probably get looked at to make sure I didn't cause damage to.
Starting point is 00:14:18 my head. I nodded along and got up slowly to sit on the front porch waiting for them. On the way to the hospital, I actually asked my mom if she remembered Chris. I don't know why I felt compelled to ask, but he was the son of her co-worker, so she would surely know who he was. To my surprise, she said that she didn't know anyone named Chris other than me. I told her, no, the Chris with the C.H. The one that's your co-worker's son, we met him right after we moved into the house when we were introducing ourselves to the neighbors. My mom then told me that none of her co-workers lived on our block, and that, to the best of her knowledge, none of them had a son named Chris. So, to this day, I am the only person that
Starting point is 00:15:12 remembers my friend Chris, the one that I met when I was 10, the one that was my mom's co-worker's son. Nobody else in my family, and none of the other childhood friends knew who Chris with the CH was, despite him being the person that saved my life, and someone that I know that I hung out with on several occasions. I know that he existed. I know that he and I were decent enough friends, and I know that he jumped into the water to save me when I was drowning, but yet he seemingly never did. I have nothing to prove that he did exist, unfortunately, other than the memories in my head. I will say that losing a friend to the Matrix, so to speak, specifically one that saved me
Starting point is 00:16:05 that day, is the most painful childhood memory that I have. and while he doesn't seem to exist in this timeline, I will never forget that day, and the fact that he saved me. I used to work at a daycare-like place that was fairly understaffed, meaning that we would all have multiple things we would have to do at the same time. We'd have to keep the kids in line, clean the messes, make their food, all pretty much at the same time.
Starting point is 00:16:51 And sometimes things would have to be done halfway to be finished later because of that. The important part to note is that we were always busy and running around doing everything all at once. Because we were always going crazy, we had established a few rules with the kids, one of which was no children in the kitchen.
Starting point is 00:17:16 This may sound unimportant, but it is relevant and the kids are all really good about following this rule. This event happened about a month ago. During the day, it was me and one of the other girls that worked there, and she was trying to get the place cleaned up while I corralled the 13 kids that we would have on the daily. Like I said, they are all really good kids, and most of them are perfectly being. behaved in my opinion. I was playing with them, and talking with all of them, just keeping them entertained, when one of the quiet boys said my name. I look over at him, and I ask what's up.
Starting point is 00:18:02 He says I need to come there and come over to him. I step over, thinking he may have just had an accident and was embarrassed, so I lean down and I ask if he's okay, or if he needs help with anything. He looks me dead in the face and says, There's no ravioli. I kind of stare at him confused, but just nod and say, Okay, that's fine. And I confirm that he's okay and doesn't need help. About an hour later, it's lunchtime,
Starting point is 00:18:37 and I make the daily mistake of asking the kids what sounds good for lunch. Almost all of them shout that they want ravioli, for lunch. At this point, I had already forgotten what the one boy had told me, but as soon as I stood up to go to the kitchen and tell the other employee what they wanted, that same little boy said my name and smiled at me when I looked at him. It was weird, sure, but he's like four, so I just smiled back and moved on. I walked into the kitchen and told the other employee that we had 12 orders for Ravioli.
Starting point is 00:19:15 She goes to look in the cabinet, and sure enough, we were out of ravioli. Now, this may not seem weird to a few people out there, but to me it was really strange. We have our groceries delivered twice a week, and we always have ravioli, because it's seemingly a high-demand item for our kids. It's something they can all eat and they all like it. it's pretty much on par with macaroni and cheese for us. We always have it. My co-worker went and checked her phone for the grocery order, and, come to find out,
Starting point is 00:19:57 she had accidentally forgotten to order it the day before and didn't realize that we were completely out. Now, I know some people will say that he may have overheard someone mention it, or he may have come into the kitchen and saw that there was no ravioli. but we honestly hadn't discussed it, and were both surprised by us being out. On top of that, the lunch items are head height for me, so a four-year-old boy would not have been able to get to them.
Starting point is 00:20:29 I have no honest idea how he knew we were out of ravioli, but he knew. And it was kind of weird. And yeah, I know this is a boring glitch, but to me it's crazy because it makes no sense. Either way, we now have a note on the cupboard to always order ravioli. And I jokingly wrote, If you think we're out, just go ask his name on the note.
Starting point is 00:20:59 Thankfully, he hasn't given us any more lunchtime premonitions, though. Lazzang sur-gely, puissance-moid for 15 minutes. We'd say that's their dojo. Pre-to-joo? I have always been a huge fan of glitch in the Matrix Stories. I've read all the posts on the subredits, and I've listened to several podcasts that cover them,
Starting point is 00:22:10 but I've never had something happen to me until today. And I know it may be a really dumb glitch, or not as creepy as what other people have shared, but it's my glitch, and I'm more than excited to share it with you. Okay, so to start it out, I live alone with myself and my two cats. My two cats couldn't have had anything to do with what happened, and you'll understand why I say that here soon. So the other day I was off work for a couple of days,
Starting point is 00:22:46 due to having to take my vacation time, and I decided that I would stay up. late watching scary movies. This is always a terrible idea for me, as I freak out easily and get incredibly paranoid about every little sound. During my movie watching session, I did what almost everyone does. I made myself a bag of popcorn.
Starting point is 00:23:10 My preference is the extra butter kind, and it's the only kind that I buy for myself. I know that doesn't sound relevant, but it is. Anyways, I make my popcorn, and I'm sitting on my couch eating it from the bag and watching some B-rated horror movie when I hear a loud sound coming from my bedroom, just up the stairs. Obviously, being upstairs, you would think that I would be smart enough to know that it wasn't someone breaking in or anything. But I was still kind of freaked out, and I grabbed my baseball bat that sits by the door and, started up the stairs. I get up to my room
Starting point is 00:23:53 and see that my cat knocked down my alarm clock, meaning that I was just being paranoid, of course. I take a deep breath, I let out an angry sigh at my cat and decided that I'm going to go to the bathroom really quick while I'm up here
Starting point is 00:24:10 and while my movie is paused. I do my business, come out, scold my cat for scaring me, jokingly, of course, I didn't really scold him or get mad, and I head back down. I get to the couch, sit down, put my hand in the bag of popcorn, and put it in my mouth. And lo and behold, the popcorn changed. It was now the cheddar cheese flavored popcorn, instead of my normal extra butter.
Starting point is 00:24:42 I know for a fact that it was not cheddar cheese before I went upstairs, because I personally hate the cheese-flavored kind, and I would have noticed at some point before I had eaten half the bag. I take it to the kitchen, and I dump it into a bowl to make sure that the one kernel wasn't just cheesy somehow, or something like that, and the entirety of what is left is bright orange in color, meaning that it is cheese-flavored.
Starting point is 00:25:11 I look at the bag it's in, and it's marked as cheese. I grabbed the box from the pantry, and it is marked as cheese. Now, I know what some people will say. They'll make a comment that I just bought the wrong kind and didn't notice. But that's not possible. One, I am very particular about my popcorn, like I said. But two, this was not the first bag from this box that I had eaten. It was the fourth of twelve in the box, meaning that there were eight.
Starting point is 00:25:46 in the box and I had already eaten three others. At no point in time, did any of the popcorn that I ate taste like cheddar? Because again, I don't like that flavor. So, thanks to The Matrix, and I guess because I got up and checked out the sound, I'm now stuck with little over half a box of cheese-flavored popcorn that I thoroughly dislike. I have no idea how or why it happened, but I guess the Matrix just wanted to mess with me in a super mundane way. Either way, that's my glitch, and it's my only glitch at this point. Hopefully nothing else changes, because groceries are expensive nowadays,
Starting point is 00:26:34 and I don't want to have to go re-buy things just because our realities' programmers are tricksters. I'll try not to be long-winded. But I need to provide a little backstory, so please be patient. I was an opiate-slash-herwin addict for about six to seven years between 2008 and 2014. In October of 2014, I had finally had enough and decided to check myself in to the inpatient psychiatric unit at my local hospital, so that I could detox myself quickly over about three to five days instead of having to go in to another long-term addiction treatment center, which was usually about 30 to 60 days. By the time I got to this point in my journey of addiction,
Starting point is 00:27:39 I was an IV heroin user and I was using a lot every day just to stay well or feel okay to go about my day. I know it's hard not to judge me and stop reading at this point, but I got run over by a car that my boyfriend was driving when I was 18 and just about to graduate high school. I ended up with a compound spiral fracture, meaning the bone broke through the skin, sorry for the visual, of my left legs tibia bone because of the way the car wheel ran me over. Doctors put a titanium rod through the bone marrow, and they used four screws to keep it in place. Two by my knee, and two at my ankle. I was given a morphine drip plus 80 milligrams of oxycontin and Vicodin to take home, no cast, just crutches and a few stitches after the drain was removed. And doctors told me nothing about the possibility of abuse,
Starting point is 00:28:46 or the risk of addiction with those medications. I was basically still a child, so of course I got hooked. Fast forward from 2007 now. It was 2014, and fentanyl was just starting to break through nationwide, and reports of overdoses skyrocketed around that time because it was getting mixed in with heroin. I live in Maryland, so I was... getting my heroin from the deepest and shadiest parts of Baltimore City,
Starting point is 00:29:21 and dealing with some fairly high-level gangs. My dealer would often offer testers to me, because I was a really good customer. The heroin that I bought from him always came in what was called caps, which were just emptied out and refilled, reused vitamin capsules, so the dealers could mix their product with other stuff and make more money. When my dealer offered me testers, I always took them, because it meant they were trying out a new, better product, and, well, they were free. Free for an addict is like gold.
Starting point is 00:29:59 On the day that I decided to go into detox, I went down to the city to pick up my last hurrah, so I could get high one last time right before going in to detox. My dealer had testers that day, a lot of them. I was used to doing about 10 to 30 caps throughout any given day, depending on what I could afford. On this day, he gave me 10 caps. So, I went straight into the emergency room, prepared to use their restroom to get high one last time, and then check myself in. I did all 10 caps at once, though. I don't remember what happened after that. I don't remember even checking myself in, but when I woke up in what I now believe to be a parallel universe or alternate reality,
Starting point is 00:30:53 meaning I'm pretty sure I overdosed and died in that bathroom that day, in my reality, because those testers were laced with fentanyl, which I'd never done before. I was sitting in a detox chair with IV fluids when the blackness faded. The person next to me was already talking to me when I, opened my eyes and quote unquote woke up. Like he was literally mid-sentence. When I looked over at him and said, What?
Starting point is 00:31:25 He repeated himself, and I asked again, No, what are you talking about? Long story short, I felt like I had just been asleep because things went completely black for me after I used those ten caps. But I eventually learned from my detox neighbor that he and I had been talking for at least an hour off and on, that I never
Starting point is 00:31:50 fell asleep once. He said he would have noticed because we talked to each other to keep our minds off the upcoming withdrawals. I had no memory of any conversations that we'd had, and I think he thought that I was just super high and didn't remember, but that is not, I repeat, not the case. Prior to that moment, I had an amazing memory. I was never even high enough in all my years of using to forget entire chunks of times, so I don't believe that's what happened. Anyway, moving on now to why I believe I shifted.
Starting point is 00:32:32 And mind you, I'm finally sharing this because it's been ruminating in my mind since October of 2014. I walked into that emergency room, completely, addicted, mentally and physically, to not only IV heroin, but the entire process of using, and I also smoked about a pack of cigarettes per day, probably more. I was also clearly addicted to nicotine. When I woke up, I went through very short physical heroin withdrawal, I didn't even understand why I ever wanted heroin in the first place. I also completely stopped smoking cigarettes from that moment on.
Starting point is 00:33:20 I completely stopped wanting them and still to this day find them absolutely disgusting. I don't know if that means the me from this reality was less of an addict, of heroin or even nicotine, or if I'm just crazy. But I feel like it's the former. I got straight A's in high school and graduated with honors even after my accident, so I assure you I am an intelligent, sane human being who is now a full-grown, 32-year-old adult. So immediately things felt off, and they felt off ever since. I, the me from the other reality, remember things that none of my family members remember. In fact, it became a running joke that I,
Starting point is 00:34:09 I have a bad memory, but I have an amazing memory. I'm just remembering things that didn't happen in this reality. Another small example I can think of is that the boyfriend that I mentioned who ran me over, in my reality, my parents were furious with him and demanded that we break up even though it was an accident on his part. In this reality, my parents don't blame him. And talks of us breaking up was never met. mentioned. Then he overdosed and died. But here's the thing, yes, it's entirely possible that he just did too much or whatever he used was also laced with fentanyl, even though it wasn't found in my
Starting point is 00:34:54 toxicology report. But the boyfriend from my reality never would have done too much. He was terrified of using too much, so much so that he was one of the only few addicts I've ever known who had never once overdosed. Most addicts will overdose, and then someone calls 911 and saves them. Many still die, too, I know, but this just never sat right with me. Then his friends, who were my closest friends too and I, had a weird falling out, arguing over memories that I had, and they once again did not.
Starting point is 00:35:34 We still don't talk about it to this day, and they were my boys in high school. My boyfriend and I had been dating for 11 years by the time he died, so his friends were like brothers to me, in my reality at least. And in my reality, those guys would have never left my side if my boyfriend died. They would have constantly checked in, made sure it was safe, etc. But in this reality, it seemed like we were never even that close.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Again, maybe I misread things all of those years, but I doubt it. There's at least a dozen more standout occurrences over the years, but this is long enough, and I do applaud you if you're still reading. Anyways, I wanted to get this off my chest and share it. Who knows? Maybe someone will have some insight into this, or maybe I'll get called crazy. But yeah, that's the gist of it. things in this world feel very unsettled for me since then and I can't shake the feeling that I'm somehow in the wrong body
Starting point is 00:36:46 and I hate it okay so to get this story rolling we need a little but also brief context at my house I have a garage in said garage I have a shop and in said shop I have tools materials, and I make stuff. Stuff being anything out of wood and metal.
Starting point is 00:37:21 Mostly wood, but yes, some metal. Anyways, I have been for about two months now, been working on this sword. It's a three-foot katana-esque sword. It's gotten to the point where I'm about to make and apply the handle to the sword. One of the last steps. Every time I get through working on a project for that day, I leave it in the same spot, right in front of where I sit, like everyone else who works on stuff does.
Starting point is 00:37:55 So tell me why I step into my shop tonight, and there's no sword. I cannot find this thing anywhere. I've looked and looked and wouldn't have moved it because it isn't done. I'm still working on it, so why would I move? it. I'm really confused and puzzled as to what happened to it. Anyway, that's my short and absolutely confusing glitch story. This popped up in my memories on Facebook yesterday. In June of 2017, I had dreams for four or five days in a row, where each one I would hear or see warning error 424. And then, I would wake up at exactly 4.24 a.m. I can remember portions of two of them.
Starting point is 00:39:00 The first, I was in a hallway when an alarm sounded, and then a voice repeated warning error 424. I woke like you do from a very scary nightmare, heart racing and just scared. I looked over to the alarm clock, one of those old ones with the red digital numbers, where if an alarm is set, it either beeps annoyingly or plays a radio station. The time was 424. The second one I remember, I was again in a hallway standing by a black door. There was a panel next to it with a digital display. It started flashing, Error 424.
Starting point is 00:39:43 Again, I woke up as if from a nightmare. I glanced at the clock and again, 4.24 a.m. While I can't remember the other dreams now, I do know that it happened multiple times. Was this a glitch in the Matrix? Or a coincidence? This is a crosspost from R-slash-parallel universe, but I wanted people's thoughts on it as the whole thing is. still a mystery to me, and it still sometimes gives me nightmares, though the nightmares become less frequent with time. Also, I'm going to add in a couple small details that weren't
Starting point is 00:40:37 in the story of the original post, because a couple of people asked on the original, and I can see why it would be relevant information to have immediately available in the post itself. Back in the summer of 2011, I was 19 and had relocated my living situation for a few weeks while I was in between apartments. It's a long story on its own. Due to my relocation, I was pretty far from my work and I'd have to drive about an hour south on the highway 45. At the time, I worked in Spring, Texas. And I could get away with a lot of stuff because we were too short-staffed, and I was one of the more experienced on our night crew. On my first shift having to drive to work from this new area, I ended up getting a bit turned around and lost.
Starting point is 00:41:37 I was driving on what I thought had been the highway, but after a bend, it suddenly transitioned into a single-lane road, and then further down the transition to just a dirt road. Ever since it stopped being a highway, there were no areas to turn off. I left my place at around 7 p.m. to arrive at work by 8 p.m. for my shift. This happened around the midway point of the distance, so even though I didn't check the time when it happened, it would be a fair estimate to say the sudden change in environment happened, at approximately 7.30 p.m. Thinking this was really strange as I'd been up and down 45 a million times,
Starting point is 00:42:24 and I never saw anything like this. I figured I would just drive until I reached a rest stop, or something, to check my location on GPS and turn around at. It got to be a little uneasy when I went to full 20 minutes without a single spot to stop at or turn into. and without seeing a single other car. I saw a bridge coming up and thought, okay, surely there will be somewhere to turn around up wherever this bridge leads.
Starting point is 00:42:55 Then, I saw it. You are now entering at Scotia. At this point, I was already going to be super late for work no matter what, and I figured I would just send my boss a text and all would be fine. No signal. thinking, what the hell I'm going to get in trouble anyways. May as well check out this place for a few minutes and see where I ended up. It was very unsettling.
Starting point is 00:43:27 The town looked like it had to have been abandoned for decades, buildings all around looking to be falling apart and in terrible disrepair. Not a single building had a light on, and there were no cars or people anywhere in sight. The roads were a mix of some dirt roads and some normal roads in varying states of disrepair. Hell, I didn't even see animals anywhere as I drove through. I could tell as I drove that this town was essentially an island. Every direction seemed to have a beach and a bridge that connected it to land,
Starting point is 00:44:07 at least from what I was able to see as I drove around a higher elevated area. After about a half an hour of driving, unable to find any signs of life, I managed to find my way back to the bridge that I came in on, and I got the hell out of there. When I got to work about two hours late, my boss called me back into his office to have a chat. I'd been working there since I was 16, and have never been so much as a single minute late,
Starting point is 00:44:38 so he was willing to hear me out. I told him the honest truth of what happened, and he seemed increasingly concerned as my story went on. He and another co-worker looked on a map out of curiosity since they'd never known of any abandoned towns in the area, and they found some place called Addisocita, and they just assumed I'd misread the sign. But when they opened the Google Street View,
Starting point is 00:45:07 Atiscoceita was nothing like the town that I'd have. I'd seen. The only thing they had in common, it was a sort of similar name, and one bridge that connected it from across a lake. But the town I was in was surrounded by water and had bridges connecting it on each end. I'm only in contact with one co-worker who was at work that day, and he's convinced I somehow got a bustling old-style town like Addiscusita, somehow confused with the long abandoned ghost town, even though they had nothing in common, just because we couldn't find any Atta Scotia on the map. Two years after, when I went back to live in spring for a little while, I did try finding Atta Scotia again, this time with the intent of filming while there to prove that it
Starting point is 00:46:01 existed. But alas, no matter how much I retraced my steps, I was never able to find that strange, empty path to the bridge again. As a little end note, I'm typically not super comfortable sharing this story with many people, because for obvious reasons, lots of people would probably think I'm crazy, because I'm adamant that I was in a town that no one can seemingly find any evidence of ever having existed. From the few people who I have told over the years, I've gotten answers like slipping someone,
Starting point is 00:46:39 somewhere in time that I entered some kind of spirit world or something, that I slipped into an alternate reality, and the most common was that I fell asleep on the highway. Though, while that last one certainly sounds the most grounded on the surface, for those who have driven on 45, I'd have 100% died if I had fallen asleep at the wheel in the late evening slash early night on that highway. Accidents are common there even among totally alert drivers. I'm not really sure what to make of it all. As unsettling as the event itself was,
Starting point is 00:47:22 the retracing my steps later and not being able to find any trace of it was even more so. Honestly, if I ever ended up back there somehow, someday, I would film the whole thing. Edit, several comments are asking questions about important details that would be simpler to have in the post. As for whether I ever went to Addisocita to confirm, it wasn't where I ended up. I have gone there for that purpose. Addiscoceda is in a completely different direction from where I'd been driving when all the weirdness happened.
Starting point is 00:48:01 but I still wanted to check it out for my own confirmation. And I can definitively 100% state that I wasn't in Addis Gossita. The only commonality between the two towns is the kind of similar name and nothing else. As for if there were any street signs or traffic lights or recognizable brands like a Walmart being present or something, there were street signs, though sadly I know. longer recall any of the road names. There were streetlights that weren't working scattered throughout. I did see buildings that looked like they were gas stations and grocery stores,
Starting point is 00:48:43 but none of them had a name on the building. I generally assume this is just from the passage of time. To clarify on a point in the post, the town was in major disrepair. Many buildings had parts of them that were just straight up falling in. apart or collapsed, and some buildings looked to have mild damage on some walls or the rooftops. As for the style of architecture to help everyone have a clearer picture, it was really tough to tell due to the state of the buildings, but the closest approximation I could use is Greek revival architecture. The designs seemed mostly basic and simple, though there were a handful of buildings
Starting point is 00:49:29 that had asymmetrical designs. It's hard to say if this was a result of the building falling apart, or if it was intentional design. Edit 2. Two commenters managed to find a single newspaper reference to the town from the 40s. I'm going to be diving into that along with a bunch of old maps to see if I can find out anything. I'll update with more info soon, I hope. And edit 3. very important.
Starting point is 00:50:01 I haven't yet looked at the old maps, but I did look at Texas's official census data from the same year the newspaper article that mentioned it was from, and I found no census data on it, oddly enough. And that said, the publication Oil City Derek in Oil City, Pennsylvania, has an article on page 13 of their October 8, 1942 paper that does mention Atta Scotia, Texas.
Starting point is 00:50:31 This is huge for me, because this is the first time I've seen any evidence that the town ever existed at all. And a huge thank you to the commenters who made this discovery. The mention of Atta Scotia is brief, and I have no idea why
Starting point is 00:50:48 there's no census data on it, but it's the only piece of evidence this town was ever a thing. So I'm diving in. According to this article, some kind of major discovery slash breakthrough occurred in Addis Scotia regarding oil-depth research. And it sounds like they found deposits of oil there that were previously thought to be impossible. That's all.
Starting point is 00:51:17 That's the only mention from the article. And I still need to check maps to try to find it, and I'm a little put off by it not being part of it. of census data for some reason, but there it is. The town that doesn't exist... Existed. I'm still very confused regarding how I actually got there, though. There's certainly no such part of 45 that's like what I experienced.
Starting point is 00:51:45 Nor do I understand how retracing the same path from that day didn't lead me back to Add to Scotia. I still believe on some level that something supernatural that I can't possibly understand happened. But at least knowing that the town existed once is a little comforting. My husband and I drive to the country to buy raw milk every two weeks. It tastes better and it's healthier. We got in the car.
Starting point is 00:52:26 I was driving. Joe needs two big black coffees per day to function, so we stopped at a fast food chain to get them. He drank one down fast, the empty went into the car cup holder, and one was in his hand and he was sipping. It was a nice sunny day and a pleasant 30-minute drive. When we got to the dairy farm, he placed his phone on the passenger seat floorboard
Starting point is 00:52:53 and his half-filled coffee cup in the empty cup holder closest to the passenger seat. He got out of the car to get the milk, and his phone rang. It was an important doctor call, So I lunged to pick it up from the passenger floorboard, and in the process, my hand hit the half-full coffee cup, and it fell over onto the beautiful white leather interior of my Cadillac. I saw the black liquid flow out of the upside-down cup, and I sprung into action. Hurriedly, I picked up the cup and replaced it in the holder. I threw open the driver door to get out and get a towel that I keep in the back seat. Joe was coming out with the milk
Starting point is 00:53:37 and was wondering why I was running to his side of the car. I opened the passenger door and the seat was utterly, completely, totally, clean and dry. I stood there frozen and he asked why I was freaking out. I saw it go all over the seat. We got in the car, I was amazed. Then I started looking into simulation theory and thanked God for saving my car seat.
Starting point is 00:54:07 I did miss the phone call, though. This happened in 2006. I'd bought some footless tights, and I opened the pack on my bed. What fell out of the pack was just the foot off-cuts from the tights and no actual tights. In disbelief, I texted my friend about what had happened,
Starting point is 00:54:41 and we had a laugh about it. I waited until the next day to return them, and, in the morning, reached into the carrier bag to grab the receipt, with the intention of returning this ridiculously faulty product. It wasn't there, and I was certain that I hadn't removed it, and the other item that I'd purchased, a skirt, was still inside, unworn. I definitely had a receipt. I know this, because when I tried to leave the shop, the alarm went off, because the assistant had forgotten to remove the security tag from the skirt. I presented that receipt and remembered dropping it back into the bag.
Starting point is 00:55:25 I turned my room upside down, and it was nowhere to be found. I hadn't taken it into any other room in the flat, as it was a shared student accommodation, and I never really used the communal rooms much. Plus, I was living a minimalist existence, so it couldn't have been lost in clutter. So, I accepted that I would be left with just the feet of a pair of footless tights. A few days later, I was vacuuming my room, and I pulled up the mat next to my bed, and there, right under it, was the receipt, and it was wet and soggy. I could barely read the writing on it.
Starting point is 00:56:09 To my knowledge, I hadn't spilled anything on the rug, and I don't remember moving the rug during my search. None of this has ever made sense to me. I never did get my tights refunded, and I just ended up using them as socks. I have a really weird glitch that happened to myself and my husband about six or so months ago. It's not a huge story or anything like that, but it's a really weird glitch that. It's one of those weird things that really makes you pause and think about the possibility of our reality being a simulation. So, back in December, my husband and I were invited to a small get-together at a friend's house. This was something we used to do annually around the middle of December, but, thanks to COVID, we had all decided to go ahead and just not do it,
Starting point is 00:57:14 at least until we were sure that we were all safe. Unfortunately, I have a medical condition that requires me to take a specific medication that is actually an immunosuppressant. Thanks to that, I have to be super careful in public right now. And these last two years have been absolutely insane. I have managed, but it isn't easy. Anyways, this year's get-together was supposed to be a big one, since we've been. we've had to cancel for a few years. By big, I don't mean a ton of people.
Starting point is 00:57:53 I just mean that it was super important for everyone involved, and we were all looking forward to it. We all started the planning in November and decided that we would drive out on the 17th of December and stay there until the 19th. Then we would head home. On the night of the 15th, my husband and I were actually talking about the whole thing
Starting point is 00:58:17 and he randomly asked me if I was certain that I was comfortable with still going to the party since it was going to be a decent number of people, around eight or nine, including us. I said it was fine, that I trusted my friends and that I knew we had all taken the proper actions to minimize the risks. Plus, it wasn't a huge gathering. Sure, nine people is a good amount, but it wasn't something crazy. He said all right, and then we went to bed. That night, I had a really weird dream. Sure enough, it was about the party.
Starting point is 00:58:58 In the dream, I remember that my husband and I were at said party, and everyone else was there, but nobody was talking to each other. Like, the food was prepared, everyone had their plates, and everyone was sitting at a table, but there was no motion whatsoever. Everyone there was just sitting at the table completely still. Then my friend Serena stood up at the end of the table and looked at me with a dead serious look and said, Michelle, you shouldn't be here.
Starting point is 00:59:30 This is a dangerous place for you. I remember those exact words being said. She said I was not supposed to be there and that it was dangerous. And I remember that it was Serena specifically saying. it. Now, it may sound incredibly stupid, but something about this dream caused me a huge amount of distress, and I think my husband could tell that something was wrong the next morning. He asked me if I was okay, and I told him that I had had a weird dream about the party, and that, because of the dream, I was second-guessing whether or not we should go.
Starting point is 01:00:13 Again, I know it sounds dumb, but I think I was looking to him for some kind of reassurance. However, he said something that completely blew me away. He looked me straight in the face and asked me, Did Serena tell you that we shouldn't be there? I swear I could feel my face go pale. I started to feel dizzy. I asked him how the hell he knew that. And then, he told me that.
Starting point is 01:00:43 me that he had a dream similar to that a couple of nights ago, and that's why he was so pushy about asking me if I was still okay with going. The dream he described was pretty much the same as mine. People were there, there was food, but there was nothing going on at the party at all. It was just still. Then, Serena said that we shouldn't be there. It was the freakiest thing to have someone else tell me my dream almost exactly. And I had no idea what to say.
Starting point is 01:01:16 After talking through it a bit more, he said that it was pretty clear that we were both still pretty nervous, so we should maybe sit this one out and just go next year, just to be absolutely sure that we're safe. I agreed with them completely. No matter how dumb and felt to follow advice from a dumb dream, part of me felt that the fact that we both had it was important. We inform our friends, and they're upset, but they understand. We didn't tell them about the dream, obviously,
Starting point is 01:01:50 but we told them that we were going to sit this one out and came up with some BS reason about me not feeling well and not wanting to get everyone else sick. Well, about a week after the whole party happened, I got a call from who else but Serena. I answer and say hey, and she responds sounding like absolute hell. She hardly had a voice, was coughing,
Starting point is 01:02:18 and just sounded completely lethargic. She mentioned to me that she was glad I didn't come to the party because, apparently, her dad had given her COVID, and she didn't know she had it until about a day or so after everyone had gotten together. She mentioned that, the day of the party, she had been feeling a bit weird, but it didn't seem too serious. And then, two days later, she was feeling like she was dying.
Starting point is 01:02:48 At the end of it all, all but one of them ended up being sick with it. They all got through it, of course, but the fact that it basically became a mini super spreader event tells me that, had we gone, I would have caught it, and it would not have been good. I don't know if this dream we had was some sort of weird premonition, but the fact that we both had pretty much the same dream, and we both called out Serena as being the person in the dream telling me not to be there, when she was the one that most likely spread it to the group. That, honestly, makes me think it was something supernatural. Regardless, ever since this,
Starting point is 01:03:35 I've been a pretty firm believer that things out there aren't. always what they seem. And that reality is a bit weird. When I was 15 or 16, my two younger brothers and I were playing in our family's living room. For some reason that I don't recall, our parents weren't there at the time, so we were basically playing dodgeball in the house only. Instead of the heavy rubber balls typically used an actual dodgeball, we were using one of the cheap, lightweight, inflatable rubber balls from Walmart.
Starting point is 01:04:23 You know the type. Smaller than a standard basketball. I'm guessing it was between 12 to 14 inches in circumference. There was a grandfather clock positioned in one corner of the room that my mom still has to this day. It was positioned as close to the wall as possible. When you take into account the baseboard and shoe molding on the wall, Plus the trim on the bottom of the clock,
Starting point is 01:04:50 there couldn't have been more than a four to five inch gap between the body of the clock and the sheet rock wall. We were launching this ball at each other, because no matter how hard you throw these, they don't hurt the other person. So I get the ball and throw it as hard as I can at my brother, who was standing in front of the clock. Just as the ball left my hand,
Starting point is 01:05:16 I had this snapshot vision in my head of that ball lodging between the clock and the wall, and in slow motion, I watched my brother jump out of the way, and that 12-inch ball bury itself in the four-inch space between the clock and the wall, just like it had happened in my mind a split second before. I don't mean a little either. Nearly half of the ball was lodged. It was difficult to pull free. All three of us stopped and were blown away by what had just happened.
Starting point is 01:05:52 It had to be a one-in-10 million shot. I'm fairly certain that I could try to do it again for the rest of my life and would likely never be able to do it again. This is literally the craziest freaking thing that has ever happened to me. I have no history of blackouts or mental illness that involve hallucinations or intense daydreaming. And I'm freaking the hell out. Like 30 minutes ago, I thought, Hmm, I should do the little things I've been putting off but want to do.
Starting point is 01:06:36 So I did. I remember so distinctly hanging one of my pieces of art on the wall. I picked it up from leaning on the edge of my bed, and I put it on a thumbtack. Afterwards, I set out all of my nail stuff and painted my hand and toenails. When I was trying to fix my pillow cover, I accidentally got some black nail polish on my pillow. When I'm done, I relax with Amy Winehouse in the background, scrolling aimlessly on Instagram. Next thing I know, my sister barges in and tells me my chicken Tika Masala arrived.
Starting point is 01:07:16 I go to shoe her away and catch a glimpse of my hand. My nails are pristinely blank. like no residue at all. I stare at it for a second like, what the hell? It took so long to paint. Then I look at my toes, and they're also completely blank. The only thing I could think was, how in the world did that happen? My hands were playing on my phone the entire time,
Starting point is 01:07:45 so I start destroying my bed to find polish anywhere on my sheets, but nothing. At this point, I think I'm actually... going mental as I'm putting my sheets back to where they were, patting the pillows and such. I start karate-chopping the middle of the decor pillows. I did it to the last one, and my damn nail polish is on the side of it. Same place and everything. I leap off my bed, and when I step off, I kick something over. My body took a screenshot.
Starting point is 01:08:21 I looked down in my freaking painting that I hung up above. my desk is now at the side of my bed. I'm freaking the hell out. I think I'm going crazy and I'm looking up symptoms and causes of blacking out or hallucinating. Can someone explain this to me? Is there something wrong? So I have one of those stories that is basically I should be dead, but something in the Matrix decided that I shouldn't, so now I have no explanation.
Starting point is 01:09:03 for these events kind of situations. And I'm going to go ahead and say now that this story does include language and information about me wanting to end my own life. So consider that your warning. I don't know if I should call this some sort of quantum immortality, or if it was some kind of reality or timeline shift, but it was something. And to be honest, it kind of haunts me.
Starting point is 01:09:33 So this all happened back in 2015, back when I was pretty much at the deepest point of my depression. I won't bore you with all the details. I'll just give the cliff notes as to why I was falling apart. In 2015, I was 17 years old, and two events completely destroyed my life. My mother ended up dying from a very aggressive and seemingly sudden ony. onset cancer, and I was, to put it nicely, sexually assaulted by my cousin at the celebration of life get-together. A situation that no one in my family wanted to believe, nor address, and still hasn't.
Starting point is 01:10:21 Obviously, these two things happened pretty much back to back, and my mom died, and my cousin assaulted me within about a week or so of it happening. with these two things weighing me down very heavily, I was not exactly what one would call a happy person. I was not coping with these two things well at all, and I was hit by a sudden wave of decision that I was just going to end my life. I decided that I was going to take whatever medications I could find or get my hands on in the medicine cabinet,
Starting point is 01:10:59 and would also swipe a bottle or two for my time. dad's room and would just drive my car off of a ravine or something. It wasn't a very well-thought-out plan, but it was what I decided to do. As a quick aside, I am not condoning these actions, nor am I saying anyone should ever do anything that I decided to do, ever. I'm just stating as a fact what I did end up doing. So, I got what I needed. I got it all stuffed into my bag. backpack, and I told my dad that I was going to go for a drive to clear my head. I drove my car to a nearby park and did what I needed to do, threw everything into the back
Starting point is 01:11:44 seats, and took off back onto the road, just waiting for whatever was going to happen to actually happen. I remember feeling a horrible pain in my stomach. I remember feeling like I wanted to throw up, and I remember feeling like I wanted to throw up, and I remember feeling like I was getting incredibly dizzy. I have to assume that all of these were just effects caused by taking meds and mixing them with alcohol. Or maybe just the alcohol itself, but it was definitely hitting me.
Starting point is 01:12:17 I remember looking around for a ravine or a cliff or something like that, and seeing a spot that I could vaguely remember as being steep. The last thing I remember in this line of events, It is me slamming on the gas pedal, feeling the car accelerate, closing my eyes, and then feeling the car leave the ground. I very distinctively remember feeling the car leaving the ground. I knew what was coming, and I was just waiting for it all to happen. But it didn't. The car never hit the ground.
Starting point is 01:12:59 It never flipped, crash. or anything of that sort. I opened my eyes again and was nothing shy of confused. I was pulled over and parked on the side of the road. The car was still running, but I was at a complete stop with all four tires on the ground. When I looked over at the passenger seat, everything was just sitting there,
Starting point is 01:13:24 all still sealed and full, like I never followed through on any of my plan. I no longer felt sick or dizzy, just really confused and angry. I stared out at the road, at the woods to the side, and then I stared at the cars as they passed, thinking, how the hell did I not die? And how the hell did I end up here? I ended up shoving everything back into my backpack and just heading home. I obviously never told my dad about this, or anyone really.
Starting point is 01:13:58 it's both really sensitive, and it kind of makes me sound like I'm insane. But I wanted to at least put it out into the world that I somehow reset to a point where I did not end my own life. I know what I felt. I know what I did. And I remember pretty much the entire thing as it played out. That feeling of being on stable ground, after feeling the car go into the air, is the one thing that will never leave my life. my mind. Mostly because the feeling of a car getting air is quite distinct. It kind of churns your
Starting point is 01:14:35 stomach. Again, I don't know if this was quantum immortality or timelines or whatever, but it was weird to me and has stuck with me. And for anyone that cares, I'm about as good as I'm going to be for now. I went through therapy, and I no longer talk to anyone in my family. But, I'm trying to make the most of what I have. In 2019, my girlfriend and I were in our room talking and coloring, and there was two doors for our room, one leading to the living room, and the other was to her three-year-old grandson's bedroom.
Starting point is 01:15:27 It was near his bedtime, and he was in his room in bed. Then, my girl and I hear her grandson fussing and whining and a clanking noise coming from his room. We jump up, and we open his door to see what's going on. I will never forget that. He was trying to open the other door to the hallway, wiggling and pulling on the doorknob and crying. Thing is, it never had a door in the doorframe,
Starting point is 01:15:57 as long as we lived there. It felt 100% normal, like there was always one there. So my girlfriend is obviously pissed and yells out, she better not lock my grandson in his room. I said, no, calm town, I'll go around and unlock it. So I went around to unlock it, but when I got there, there was no door there. I've never been so confused. He was lying in his bed quietly playing with his toys.
Starting point is 01:16:29 All I could say was it's not locked, and then walked back trying to figure out what had just happened. We didn't say anything until later the next day when I asked her about the door. I think the way it felt so normal with the door there and then not there, different realities crossed for a few minutes. So I don't know if this would be classified as supernatural or a glitch in the Matrix, but ever since I was young, I would be able to see the future. Now, something to keep in mind is that my entire family is very spiritual.
Starting point is 01:17:21 So this stuff has always just been normal to us, and my mother's lack of a reaction is pretty normal. Anyway, the few distinct instances of seeing the future that I have were all when I was fairly young. One instance, when my mother and I went to the first hungry jacks, they'll show. Australian Burger King, to open within 30 minutes of our home. I had never been there before, nor had I ever seen a Hungry Jacks before, because we live in the middle of literally nowhere. So, a week before we went to said Hungry Jacks, I had a dream about entering a restaurant with neon light strips along the roof and a neon jukebox in the corner.
Starting point is 01:18:11 I saw the toilet to the left of the entrance. and the play area to the right. Didn't really think much of it, because at like eight years old you have weird dreams. Then, a week later, we went to the restaurant, and it was exactly like it was in my dream, even down to the music playing on the jukebox that I had never heard before said dream.
Starting point is 01:18:39 I had the weird sense of deja vu, and I remember telling my mom that we had all already done this before. Of course, she wasn't weirded out, and just told me that it was normal to have deja vu dreams. I have them pretty infrequently since that point in time, but I still have no idea what the cause is, whether it be spiritual or a glitch in the Matrix. My story takes place in the San Bernardino Riverside, California area, and the crazy thing is, I'm not the only person who has experienced this type of thing in this exact same place.
Starting point is 01:19:31 I wouldn't call it a glitch, but I literally stepped into another reality and was consciously aware of it as soon as it happened. To make a very long story as short as I can, I'd made a lot of bad decisions in my life leading up to this point, which led me to fleeing from my... anxieties literally across the country being from Florida I escaped to California thinking that I could just be more comfortable as far away from my home and it stresses that I could possibly get I didn't really make any better decisions
Starting point is 01:20:13 when I arrived in California consequently the people I did meet let's just say did not have my health and well-being in mind I found I found myself in a house in Riverside where these people were creating gold, literally gold, with borax, a torch, and some other base metals and ingredients. I was absolutely mind-blown because they were actually doing this. At some point the police showed up, which is crazy, because that's been happening a lot, it seems, everywhere I went. The police would show up, they would ask who I was,
Starting point is 01:20:52 and then take a picture of me on their police iPhone, this probably happened at least 15 times, and every time they would not have me in their system. And I don't have an ID, so they take a picture and that's it, only for it to happen all over again and again. The police left after talking at the door for about five minutes, but consequently, the other people became hostile towards me saying that I had been the reason the authorities had shown up,
Starting point is 01:21:26 which wasn't wrong, but I have no idea why. So I'm now terrified of these people, and I fled the house on foot the first chance I got. I'm walking at a very fast pace, just trying to get far away from the residence as possible, but as the sun begins to rise in the morning, I begin to notice that Riverside now appears, appears to be a literal urban ghost town.
Starting point is 01:21:55 Everything is overgrown, all the concrete is broken and cracked, there's no running water anywhere. It was as if people had not been there for more than 20 years. I'm now super hungry and very, very thirsty, but I have no way of getting food or water for that matter. And then I'm struck with the paralyzing fear, because I noticed one of the people I had fled from, riding a bicycle up and down the street, looking for me.
Starting point is 01:22:26 With no time to hide, I contemplated just straight running away as fast as I could. But I was literally paralyzed from fierce, so I just stood there, frozen. He rides up to me holding a takeout box and a gatorade from some restaurant, or food truck, which was odd, and he offered it to me. He then suggested that I should come with him and everything was going to. to be fine, and I should no longer worry. I wanted to eat the food so bad. It smelled amazing because all I could think of was chugging the Gatorade as I was super dehydrated.
Starting point is 01:23:05 But intuitively, I knew that if I agreed with him and took what he was offering, nothing good would come from it. I stood there in anxiety and managed to mutter a no thank you. And to my surprise, this person simply cracked a cold. crooked smile and rode away. I watch him for a quick second to be sure he was actually leaving, and then I turned in one step, 180 degrees, to head in the opposite direction that he was going, but in that one step, just that quick, I went from the Riverside, California that was overgrown, neglected, and
Starting point is 01:23:44 abandoned, to I'm now standing in Oceanside, California, right on the ocean among the souvenir shops and bars. People are everywhere. I stood there trying to comprehend what had just happened, and I realized that I was still extremely thirsty. So I start walking to the Oceanside bus slash train station, knowing it probably has at least a drinking fountain. As I enter the station, a random man sitting on a concrete ledge looks up at me as I passed him, and says, Hey, bro, call your dad. You want you to come home to Florida. I agreed.
Starting point is 01:24:26 I was very much in shock, but the energy was no longer negative. I felt at ease and secure in this moment. After I drank my fill at the very lukewarm water fountain, I immediately walked into the nearest place, which was a Domino's pizza, to ask to use the phone. She kindly handed me the store phone. I called my dad. and about an hour later I had a ticket for a Greyhound back to Florida.
Starting point is 01:25:06 So, I have a super simple and incredibly mundane glitch, but I feel like I absolutely have to share it for a reason that some of you may find funny. You did a story a while back, about someone that went to bed with a messy apartment, and then they woke up to it being spotless. And then there were several commenters that made jokes about how they needed their own quote,
Starting point is 01:25:31 unquote cleaning fairies from the matrix. Well, I think I had a visit by those cleaning fairies because I experienced damn near the same thing. And it's actually kind of terrifying. First off, the obvious. I'm a guy in my mid-20s with really bad ADHD, like medically diagnosed ADHD by doctors that pretty much told me that everything was hoping.
Starting point is 01:26:01 hopeless, and that I wouldn't amount to much, because I couldn't hold a thought for more than four minutes. I have my own apartment in a small college town, and I live by myself. The only person that has a key to my apartment is my brother, and he lives around 25 minutes away, and he's never shown up unannounced, nor has he ever shown up in the middle of the night. being a mid-20s dude with an attention deficit, I do have struggles with keeping my place clean.
Starting point is 01:26:37 I mean, I keep it picked up for the most part. I keep the dishes done, my food isn't all over the place, and I keep the floor mostly cleaned up. There is, however, one room where my brain seems to go into a panic attack when I try to do any sort of organization to it. and that is my bathroom. I have a fairly small bathroom in my apartment. It's just the toilet, a sink with a mirror on it, across from said toilet, and then the tub.
Starting point is 01:27:11 I also have one of those over-the-toilet shelves where I keep all the extra paper and stuff, and I have all my things on the sink. When I say things, I mean face wash, soaps, razors, combs, brushes, cotton swabs, A lot of just various bathroom things are all sitting on my sink. And it is a disaster. When I try to organize it, though, I feel like the room is spinning. And for some reason, I freak out. So, I pretty much have just left it like it was and have lived with it being a disaster.
Starting point is 01:27:50 Well, about a week or so ago, I was doing my normal routine of picking things up and putting them away, when I told myself that I was going to organize my bathroom. I literally stood in the doorway and psyched myself up to do it, which sounds incredibly dumb now that I've written it out. Then I walked in and started to move things, but I couldn't do it. I ended up stopping because my dad had text me, and I never went back to finish organizing the sink. I think I took my dad sending me that text,
Starting point is 01:28:27 as the universe saying, Hey, you can just finish it later. So I shouted back, ha ha, I'm not going to do it at all. Well, I think the universe then laughed back at my face. Because when I woke up the next morning, my sink was seemingly organized. There was no clutter,
Starting point is 01:28:51 or things stacked on top of each other. My toothbrush and razor were appropriately put away, and the soaps were all where they should have been. Basically, it had been organized and situated in a way that it should have been, in a way that I would have organized it. The problem is, I didn't do it, and I have no idea why or how someone would come into my apartment to clean up my bathroom for me, and then leave without stealing anything. I don't remember doing it, and I've never ever.
Starting point is 01:29:27 experienced an event where I followed through with something all the way, and then just forgot about it. I wasn't cleaning it while I was talking with my dad, because I called him after he text me, and I was sitting out on the back patio smoking while we chatted. I don't believe that I sleep cleaned it, but I guess that is one possibility. So, to those that were looking for a visit from the Matrix's cleaning fairies, just know that apparently they can visit you all as well. Just, don't be surprised if they do it and you freak out because you don't know how it all happened.
Starting point is 01:30:16 So, this is the biggest glitch that happened to me and is one of the defining events of my life. When I was 14, I started trying meditation, and I found myself experiencing what seemed like snippets from other lives. I dismissed them at first, but they really started coming more into focus after a specific moment. I'm a big 9-inch nails fan, and I had just purchased their album, with teeth, which deals with the subject of reality, and how do we know when something is real or not? The last track, right where it belongs, was the moment that I realized. Nothing in my life had ever seemed truly real, and these strange snippets that I'd been seeing felt more real than the life I had been living. After that point, things really came to a head.
Starting point is 01:31:18 I started seeing the world around me blurring. You know how when you'd watch a DVD, and it would skip or glitch out, you would sometimes see a few pixels of the previous scene remain on the screen after the scene had changed, reality started doing that to me. I thought I was going crazy. The more I meditated, the more I would see things from this other life that I'd had,
Starting point is 01:31:45 where I was married, where I grew old with this man that I loved deeply, who I knew better than anyone I had ever known. At this point, at age 14, I had never fallen in love, and I had no idea about these expectations. experiences that I'd seemingly remembered. But all of a sudden, I knew what love felt like.
Starting point is 01:32:09 I knew this man, his face, his quirks, the feeling of sleeping beside him and the heartbreak when he passed away before me. Things continued to escalate. I started seeing someone appearing to me. It looked like my husband from this other life, but according to this being, he was the part of me that was connected to God. He would have full conversations with me, answer questions that I asked, and also make weird prophecies about my life. One thing he told me was that people with red hair will be important.
Starting point is 01:32:47 I'm 29 now, and the father of my child and my daughter both have red hair. These encounters with this being happened every day until Christmas Eve. on that day a door appeared in my room it was white slightly ajar and it emitted a blue and purple light the being that i'd been conversing with appeared me and told me this is the door home you know how to go through it and you can go at any time he then told me that this was the last time that i would see him as he was leaving but i would see him again one day He then went through the door, closed it behind him, and it disappeared. After that, all the glitches and visions of my past life stopped.
Starting point is 01:33:40 I've tried to contact this entity again, but never managed to. I don't know what any of that meant, but I swear that it was all real. Since then, I've always been looking for answers, but I've never gotten them. Just last year, my partner mentioned to me that he used to have, weird visions as a child, and one of the things he saw was a door that matched the description of the one I had seen when I was 14. He also mentioned some other very specific things that tied in with my conversations with this entity, like key words and details too difficult to get into here.
Starting point is 01:34:21 We have no idea what it could mean, but it's reinvigorated me to look for answers. I'm hoping if anyone has had seen. similar experiences, they might get in touch with me, and maybe we could compare notes. Maybe we could find some answers. I entered an old house, very typical of the 50s in Brazil. The doors are kind of narrow, gray, and the walls are all white. It looked like a normal house with furniture, an ironing board, and whatnot. until I arrived in a room with a window which faced the street.
Starting point is 01:35:11 I remember the house being taller, and I saw other houses with people washing the sidewalk, sweeping the yard, that sort of thing. I remember seeing cars pass by until suddenly people saw me, all at once, and I got scared. Then I turned around and saw a young girl. I was scared. and she said that she was allowing me to stay there in that dimension. I couldn't identify faces, or how she and the other people I met were dressed.
Starting point is 01:35:47 Then I went to a room, in a bedroom, where they were watching television. It was a smart TV or something. I don't remember seeing a keyboard or anything. I remember that there was a program airing where they were listing celebrities who were successful in certain years. I remember seeing Elise Regina on the TV screen singing, and then I said, wow, but Elise Regina died in 1969. She died in the 1980s. A few more artists passed by that I had never heard of, including a German with a typical name and physical build, a white, blonde, wearing a tailcoat or a suit. So that's when I was able to take more control of this dream.
Starting point is 01:36:39 And somehow I looked at the Steam website, and I looked for games from Val. To my surprise, I saw that Fallout and Metal Gear Solid were listed as Valve games. I clicked on Fallout and saw the preview photos in 3D, with a similar look and feel to GTA3 in the Alpha version. Everything was very smooth and it was a first-person game, completely different from what Fallout 1 was. I didn't click on Metal Gear, but both Fallout and Metal Gear had that icon similar to the style of the Half-Life or CS-16 icon,
Starting point is 01:37:16 with the character on the right side with some lighter or darker background. Completely different of what they are today. Afterwards, I told them, there were two boys and a girl, and they didn't answer me. Until then, I felt like they were going to disconnect me somehow from that parallel world. And then I woke up. For me, in that dream, I felt like hours had passed, but when I saw it, I'd only slept for about an hour and a half.
Starting point is 01:37:48 I'd woken up at 10.30 a.m. today, and set the alarm for 12.01 p.m. and woke up at like 11.52. but I'm still quite baffled as to what happened to me. This happened to me yesterday, and I still can't explain it logically. I was at a local store looking for a particular notebook that I had found on the store's website. I first searched the section with all the other notebooks. They had a wide selection, but I couldn't find the one that I was looking for,
Starting point is 01:38:33 despite the website saying that it was in stock at that location. I figured that it must be an error and decided to order it online instead, and began to walk around, just looking at other things before I went home. Eventually, I made it to the section with the exercise equipment, pretty much on the opposite side of the store from where the notebooks are. A couple of things at the end of an aisle caught my eye, and I stopped to look. I was probably standing there for a minute or two
Starting point is 01:39:09 comparing products and prices. All of a sudden, I heard a loud thud to my left. I looked over, and a 15-pound dumbbell had fallen off the shelf of the next aisle over. I was at least five to six feet away, and I had come from the other direction, so there's no way that I could have caused it to fall, in any way. The next closest person
Starting point is 01:39:37 was a lady walking towards me from the other side. She was approximately the same distance from the aisle as I was, and had not yet past the aisle from where the weight had fallen. It wasn't busy in the store, and nobody else had come near
Starting point is 01:39:55 in the time that I had been standing there. The lady and I gave each other a confused, startled look, and I said something along the lines of, I wonder how that could have happened. And I walked over to put the weight back on the shelf. I picked up the weight, and I noticed that it had a flat section on the bottom
Starting point is 01:40:17 to prevent it from rolling, which made it seem even more strange that it had fallen. But that wasn't the weirdest part. When I set it back on the shelf next to the other weights, Guess what was right beside it. That exact notebook that I had been looking for. If that weight hadn't fallen, I almost certainly would have walked right past that section without noticing the notebook.
Starting point is 01:40:48 I wasn't even looking for it anymore, and I definitely didn't expect to find it in the exercise section. I don't know if this quite qualifies as a glitch, or if it's more paranormal or supernatural, but it was. It was definitely a weird, albeit a nice surprise. My glitch in the Matrix story happened about a year or so ago. It's kind of a shorter series of events, and I haven't told many people about it, but I see it fit in this instance.
Starting point is 01:41:33 So back in 2021, on a random day of the week, which I don't remember, I was doing my makeup sat at my vanity in the morning. I'm a makeup artist, so that's usually where I am. Important detail to keep in mind is that my makeup vanity faces opposite my window to the backyard, so with my curtains rolled up, I can see a majority of my backyard. I also happen to have two tiny storage sheds right outside my window. That morning, about a half hour into my makeup routine, I saw my mom walking outside towards the shed located closest to my room.
Starting point is 01:42:20 I wondered why she was going to that shed specifically, as it's my dad's shed with tools and things in it to cut the grass. While I was quietly observing, I saw her open the steel latch of the shed. She proceeds to go inside for a while, and then comes back out with nothing. I thought maybe she needed something, and my dad may have told her where to look for it. About a good 20 seconds passed when she came out.
Starting point is 01:42:52 She closed the door but didn't lock it, which means that she probably needed to go back there later, but that rarely happens. Anyway, cut to later that day, my curiosity got the best of me, so I asked her what she was doing in the shed that morning. To my surprise, she said that she never went to the shed at all, and I told her,
Starting point is 01:43:16 you must have forgotten that you did, because I saw you right outside my window this morning in Dad's Shed. She kept telling me she never went in there, and we were going back and forth arguing about it. I was entirely convinced that she did, knowing exactly what I saw that morning. My mom, somewhat trying to believe in wrap her head around what I was saying, decided that the best option to figure this out would be to go and check that the shed
Starting point is 01:43:48 was in fact locked in her defense. As we both went outside, we heard the quiet tin bangs that usually occur when the shed doors are open and the wind moves them. As we walked to my dad's shed, she goes to pull the latch and what do you know the shed door was open it felt relieving that what I saw was in fact
Starting point is 01:44:13 proven for itself in that moment but that quickly changed when my mom realized what I was saying must have been right we didn't know how to explain it when telling my dad about it and even between ourselves discussing it I believe it was some kind of glitch or at least that's what it felt like.
Starting point is 01:44:35 But that's my glitch in the Matrix story, so thank you for reading. I have what I consider to be the dumbest glitch in the world. And it's also one of the most annoying things that I have ever had to deal with because it forced me to completely rearrange parts of my room. I live in the basement at my grandparents' house, and please don't judge me for that. I'm a 24-year-old guy that's really gotten down on his luck during the whole pandemic. I do have a girlfriend, and we are planning on getting a place of our own,
Starting point is 01:45:23 but 2020 messed up a lot of things for a lot of people, including myself, and the place I was working for actually ended up having to shut down for various reasons during COVID. I'm actually beyond grateful that my grandparents decided that they didn't mind me moving into the basement for a few years while I try to get things back in order. And they are starting to look up, so that's good, but not
Starting point is 01:45:51 really relevant. Anyways, I live in the basement, and my room is situated as such. There is a door at the bottom of the stairs that opens inward, and in front of that is the closet. To the right is a
Starting point is 01:46:07 concrete wall, and in the left corner by the wall where the door is, I have my bed, and my TV is on the opposite side. I also have a nightstand that is between the foot of my bed and the wall where the door is. And that's where I typically plug in my phone charger, because it's one of the only outlets that's easily accessible. There's about a four-inch gap between the end of my nightstand and the edge of that wall. And that's where the outlet is. So I can plug it in, and it's not a problem.
Starting point is 01:46:41 well that is until a few weeks ago my grandparents and i went out to have brunch which is something they like to do and they will sometimes invite me along it was a nice time but while we were there i noticed that my phone was almost dead i must have made a face because my grandpa asked me if everything was all right and i just said yeah my phone just didn't charge overnight for some reason. He laughed and then made a joke about me forgetting to plug it in, and I said that I must have just unplugged the charger from the wall and not realized it. Then we moved on from there. When we got home, I immediately went downstairs to plug my phone in. I grabbed my charger off of my dresser and went to plug it into the outlet by the nightstand. When I noticed, there was no outlet.
Starting point is 01:47:41 outlet there. I was beyond confused. I was literally just standing there on my knees and staring at a wall where there used to be an outlet. And there was no outlet. I always plugged my phone into this spot on the wall. I know this because it was in a perfect location for me to do so. And then I would put the phone on the nightstand and that was that. But now there's No outlet at all. I started looking around at the wall, around where the outlet used to be, and there's now an outlet on the other side in the corner that is blocked by my nightstand. There was literally no way for me to plug my phone in there and have the nightstand where it is. The plug wouldn't even fit in the gap that's there, and if it did, it would bend the hell out of the cable. I know it's dumb, like I said, but it's the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me. This outlet literally shifted spots on my wall on a random Sunday. Because of this, I ended up having to completely rearrange how I had my rooms set up
Starting point is 01:48:58 so that I could better utilize the plugs. I did ask my grandparents, but they both said that they couldn't remember the outlet layout of my rooms, so they were no help. Either way, that was my glitch. It was just a random day where an outlet decided it wanted to hide in the corner instead of where it once was, and then forced me to move everything so I could use it. It was incredibly annoying, but I guess it just is what it is.
Starting point is 01:49:40 Last year, I had my sights set on studying via distance learning, online for anyone who doesn't know. The subject was in the fields of criminology and criminal-slash-phor-phor-sic psychology. I had looked over a few unies that offered that kind of thing for the courses that I wanted to do, and I fleetingly looked at the open university, but I couldn't find what I wanted and ended up opting for another educational body-slash-faculty. Unfortunately, at the time, my mother was severely ill, and we lost her on March 2nd, with the first lockdown starting a couple of weeks later. Due to these circumstances, I had to put my studies on hold.
Starting point is 01:50:32 Fast forward to a year later, and I'm still aching to get on to a course, so I decided to look again. This time, I find that the OU.I. are doing the courses that I had been interested in. So, on Monday, I phoned and spoke to someone there about the courses, fees, etc. He went on to ask me if I've ever had a registration made so they could find me easier. I said I'd had a fleeting look last year, but never gave any details or anything like that. This guy confirms that I've not got an account registered, and so he creates one form. me. He takes all my details, so on, so forth. Then, two days later, yesterday, I called back as I had a
Starting point is 01:51:25 query and the guy asks for details to find my account. I give him my name, the email address I supplied, and the last three digits of my phone number. He stops me and says, I have a number ending in number. I was shocked. The number he'd given me was an old number that I'd had last year, and since then, I'd finished that contract, had a temporary SIM card, and got a new phone with a brand new number for Christmas, which is the information that I gave the guy on Monday. The man proceeds to tell me, they have all my information on the system, all from when I was looking up a course last year, but sees absolutely no record of having an account set up on Monday when I called. The course he said I looked up was extremely interesting and by far one of the most relevance to what I
Starting point is 01:52:22 wanted. But I saw absolutely nothing like this when I searched last year, hence why I went and registered elsewhere, and I didn't even see said course when I did register this year. So, what the hell happened here? I need to clarify that I'm not just misremembering and did actually register last year. It just didn't happen. I even discussed with the friend of mine who's just graduated the same course I'm looking into about the lack of courses in this field at the OU, given its rep, before I found said courses this week.
Starting point is 01:53:05 Was there a time shift or slip? Did the Matrix glitch? Did I somehow slip into another dimension or parallel universe? Hello. I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in Mandela effect. But as far as I know, this isn't something affecting more than my partner and myself. Last night, my partner and I were watching TV, and I decided to put a sweater on. I go into the bedroom.
Starting point is 01:53:47 And I pull out a sweater that we had bought at my ear back in early fall of last year. I'd worn it several times, but hadn't in probably over a month at this point. I put it on and throw the hood over my head while thinking, Huh, I don't remember this having a hood. When I walk back into the living room, she says something about how much she loves that sweater, and I sit down next to her. we get into a conversation, leaving the TV paused and talk for several minutes before I interrupt with, I don't think the sweater had a hood when we bought it.
Starting point is 01:54:28 Now, we have a running joke for all of the many times one of us will remember something that's completely different than it is, referencing the dubious theory of quantum immortality and fun. Whenever this happens to either of us, the other will reply with something along the lines of, uh-oh, how'd you die this time? Implying that our consciousness is in a new, slightly different universe because our clumsy asses died in the last one.
Starting point is 01:55:01 So, I'm entirely ready for that kind of response to my observation. She laughs for a minute, but instead of asking me what killed me, me this time. She looks me up and down and says, yeah, no, it definitely didn't. We pause and think for a minute. I ask her what she remembers the top of the sweater looking like, and she tells me without hesitation, that she clearly remembers it having a North Face-style collar with the zipper going all the way up. I hadn't told her, but that was exactly what I remembered as well. Adding to the false memory is the fact that I know I've worn my coat over the sweater in the past,
Starting point is 01:55:49 and that I have a particular way of flipping the hood out over the collar, anytime I wear something with a hood under it. And I don't even remember having done that with the sweater. Usually, there's the rational thought in the back of my mind that I'm just not remembering something correctly. but this is the first time that both of us have remembered something being different in the exact same way. I had an existential crisis about it for several minutes before we could resume our show, and I still can't stop thinking about it. This happened in 2013.
Starting point is 01:56:42 I was a graphic designer for a small minority-oriented newspaper in a country that is not the United States. My job specifications included editing photos for print, which is a little tricky since newspaper is like TP as it absorbs ink like nothing you've ever seen.
Starting point is 01:57:03 So the photos need to be lightened quite a bit. But getting them too light, or not light enough, might turn political. Since, for example, if you get the editing wrong, and a presidential
Starting point is 01:57:19 candidate ends up looking lighter or darker than in real life, then, yeah. The opposition party's claim said candidate is attempting to appear more appealing to a specific demographic, thereby garnering more votes. This has happened, but I digress. So, I log into our company server and start editing photos that are linked to stories which arrive from the editorial staff during the course of. the day. And, among them, is a picture of a radiant Kate Middleton and a proud Prince William holding their firstborn, Prince George, aka His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge. Suddenly,
Starting point is 01:58:06 I'm hit with the sense of wrongness. I'm staring at this photo and all I can think of is... Wait, there's only one? Because I'm so certain... that they actually had twins, a pigeon pair. I specifically recalled tabloids and magazines speculating that the twin they claimed was born first was actually the girl and not the boy, as decreed by Buckingham Palace. This confused the heck out of me, as in I had and still have, this urge where I'd previously edited or should be editing, an image of Kate and William each holding a newborn for the paparazzi. The babies were, or I guess should have been, held by their parents
Starting point is 01:58:58 so that their little feet were pointing toward each other. They were dressed identically, and they were both blissfully asleep while the royal couple looked at each other with love and adoration. I asked the journalist writing the story to come over, and I asked her if she's sure that this wasn't approved, picture and not a fake. She looks at me as if I were on drugs, and stated that this image was provided by an internationally accredited source that rhymes with Schmuters.
Starting point is 01:59:31 Nobody at the newspaper had any knowledge of twins ever being born. I tried digging into this a few times since then, but I came up empty-handed every time. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. about a set of British royal twins for around 600 years. So there's that. I still think about that day, and it kind of feels like my brain took a memory, duplicated it, and then threw it through it through a blender.
Starting point is 02:00:02 And I haven't publicly spoken about it for eight years now. It's either a crafty glitch in the Matrix or a Mandela effect. I'm not sure. It's just that I'm almost certain that there should have been a boy and a girl. I deliver newspapers very early in the morning. One morning in January of 2020, at about 3 a.m., there was a fair amount of wind and light snow. I got out of my car to bring a newspaper to the porch for a handicapped customer. This customer had a flagpole in their yard.
Starting point is 02:00:53 maybe about 20 feet tall. I looked up at the flag and gasped in shock. The flag was sticking out horizontally, which was to be expected because it was windy, as I said, and it had ripples in it, as happens when a flag flutters in the wind. But it was completely still. It was frozen in place. The best way I can describe it is that it was as if you were watching a video of a flag,
Starting point is 02:01:23 blowing in the wind, and then hit the pause button. Except this was real life, not a video. Then, after I looked at it for about ten seconds, it suddenly started moving normally again. Was there a glitch in the matrix that made time stop for several seconds above a certain height from the ground? And to answer any questions, I was not tired, this was not a dream. I don't drink or do drugs, and there was enough light from streetlights in the area that I could see the flag quite clearly. But I don't have any good explanation for this. So, lately, I've been hearing a lot of stories about breathing underwater.
Starting point is 02:02:17 This is mine. When I was about eight years old, I took swimming lessons. One of our lessons consisted of going as far down as you could into the deep end. end, which was 12 feet deep. There was maybe about five or six of us doing this. We would hold on to the side of the pool, take a deep breath, and then swim down as far as we can. I remember doing this, but maybe about six or seven feet down, I started to realize I needed oxygen and could not go any further. But to my amazement, I took a breath and I was fine.
Starting point is 02:02:59 Like, I actually breathed in water. There was no pain. It was like I was breathing in air. I opened my eyes and looked around underwater to see if anyone else was seeing this craziness. But everyone else was still doing their own thing and not paying attention to me. I thought I was losing my mind. It was like a dream. I couldn't believe it, but it was.
Starting point is 02:03:29 was happening. As far as I can remember, I went down a few more feet still breathing water. I'm almost certain that I didn't make the whole 12 feet because my ears started popping, so I quickly swam up to the surface. I looked at my swimming instructor who was standing over us waiting and making sure that we were okay, but I could tell by the look on her face that she obviously had no idea the craziness I had just went through. I still think about this every day, and I'm 27 now.
Starting point is 02:04:05 I know that this happened. I don't tell many people because I don't want to seem crazy, but I promise that this happened, and hearing other people share their versions of breathing underwater, it definitely inspired me to share my story. So, thanks for listening. Don't be scared to share your story. crazy, unbelievable things do happen, and there are people out there who will believe you. Okay, so I was 19 at the time, 23 now, and I was attending a youth group club with my sibling who was 17.
Starting point is 02:04:53 We both went there every week and had made friends with the majority of the group. We're waiting in the lobby area at the end of the group around 8 p.m., just talking and hanging out for the of our friends. The plan was to go for milkshakes after town. Then, a different group walks past us. This was weird. Firstly, at this time of night on a Thursday, the only people left in the building are part of the youth group
Starting point is 02:05:23 that meet in a specific room on the first floor. The rest of the building is for employees working as social workers and such. So neither my sibling nor I had seen. or even recognized these people. They were teenagers, and I very distinctly remember one person with neon blue headphones, another with the violin case, and two others laughing loudly and pushing each other around.
Starting point is 02:05:52 First time they go by, literally right past us, almost brushing my shoulder. They all stare ahead and don't look or seem to notice me or my sibling. A few minutes go by and we're starting. still waiting on our friends. It's only a short walk down a stairwell to get to the lobby, so it's weird that they're taking so long. Then, that same group of people walk past us again. Both my sibling and I had seen them exit the building and cross a road leading into town, yet it was the same person with neon headphones, the same person carrying the violin,
Starting point is 02:06:31 and the same two others laughing and shoving each other as they walked. This time, I try to say hey to get their attention, and they turn but stare past us. I can't meet their eyes, and both me and my sibling are confused, shocked, and freaked out. Just like before, the group walks out of the building and out of view. I check with my sibling that they had seen it too. Then five minutes go by and I get a call from one of my friends. the one that we were waiting for this whole time. Yeah, so turns out,
Starting point is 02:07:09 our friends had walked past us only a few minutes after we had gotten to the lobby first. They thought we had joined them on the way out. There was only one way out of the building at night, and we would have seen them. Our friends didn't see the other group leaving the building either. We never saw them go to the youth group ever, and we just never saw them again. This still gives me the creeps. At the time, ten years ago or so, I was working as a laborer doing home renovations with my cousin-in-law. We were completely gutting a basement and renovating it for a family.
Starting point is 02:08:01 I never went upstairs and we just used the side entrance to get into the basement. My cousin-in-law was closer with the family, though, and often went. up stairs to discuss things with the family because he was in charge of the job. The family was renovating it because they were having their niece from out of town come to live with them, because it was closer to her university. But I had no idea at the time why they were renovating it. I just never asked, nor did I see or know about their niece. So, one night, I have a dream where I'm out somewhere standing in a circle together with my family,
Starting point is 02:08:49 and we're all looking at a map in order to figure out which direction we should take to go home. Suddenly, this girl comes up to us and asks if I can give her a ride home. I asked her where she lives, and she says, Catherine. I'm from Toronto, so in my... I'm thinking that she must mean St. Catharines, which is a town near Niagara Falls, about an hour and a half away from Toronto. I told her, sorry, but it's too far. And so she just leaves.
Starting point is 02:09:27 Dream is over. The next day, I go into work early in the morning, and I see the niece of the family for the first time ever. Previously, I never knew she even existed. She's coming out of the front door as I'm walking past it to go to the side entrance. So, we walk past each other. I look at her and am shocked, because she's the girl in my dream. She's also really attractive, and I wanted to talk to her, but in that moment of shock, I'm speechless as she passes by me.
Starting point is 02:10:03 So the day goes on, and I told my cousin-in-law that she was in my dream last night, and everything that happened in my dream. He kind of just brushes it off and says that's interesting, and that, but she's from Quebec, not St. Catharines. At the end of the day, I hear the voice of a girl coming from the main floor, and I excitingly ask my cousin-in-law if she's home yet. as he had been upstairs a few times that day. And he replies, no, that's her sister, Catherine.
Starting point is 02:10:43 Then, we both look at each other in shock of what he just said. When I moved out for college, my grandma bought me a small dining table and chair set. I ended up using this table as my desk primarily, as me and my now husband don't care to eat meals at a table very, very often. So let's call it my desk table. Four years of college ends, and we pack our stuff in one of those moving pods to store it for a couple of months, until we get to where we're moving across the country. We pack the desk table. We get to the new place. I had to start grad school right away. We couldn't move into our apartment yet, so we stayed in a hotel for two weeks. This was a super stressful time. Big move, starting grad school, no money, didn't have access to all my stuff that I needed, preparing for my first try at the PhD qualifying exam, etc.
Starting point is 02:12:01 Super uncomfortable hotel bed with no desk in the room. I wasn't sleeping well. I couldn't study effectively on the bed and I had a pretty crappy time. We finally gets to the new apartment, and I'm eager to get the desk table set up so I can start studying more effectively. Turns out, the desk table is freaking broken. It has metal legs that screw into a wooden top, and the metal is so bent into deformed positions that it won't screw back together.
Starting point is 02:12:38 Nothing would save it, and I lost my mind. It was like the straw that broke the camels back on my sanity that day. I wouldn't have the money for a new desk table, and I could not believe that this was happening. I try to calm down. I take some more stuff down to the dumpster, and I can't believe what I see next. There, near the dumpster with a free sign on it, is freaking desk table. The exact, freaking, same desk table. The same.
Starting point is 02:13:14 Not similar, not close. The absolute same as mine. Identical. I run. Literally run back to my apartment and tell my now husband. No time to explain. Come to the dumpster to help me get something in hurry. He's confused and alarmed.
Starting point is 02:13:34 But when we get there, I can see it on a little bit of a little bit. his face and he just says, What the hell? I say, I don't know and I don't care. Hurry, help me take it upstairs. We get this clone desk table, clean it, and I still use clone desk table to this day, 10 years later.
Starting point is 02:13:57 I still live at the same place, and there is rarely free stuff like this at the dumpster. I've seen like one couch, a dresser, and a couple of gross mattresses in ten years. I have no explanation for this, to this day. Hey, everyone. I had no idea that this threat existed, and I'm so glad that I found it,
Starting point is 02:14:30 because now I have a story that maybe someone out there could relate to and convince me that I'm not insane. So, a few years ago, I was traveling out of country to visit my dad, and we decided to go on a tour to visit this cave in his hometown. This place is absolutely ginormous, but for some reason we were the only people there that day. So we get our wristbands, and my dad reads 848. He starts laughing and just says,
Starting point is 02:15:05 that was a close one. I look at him confused, and he tells me how once his father passed, before I was born, he began to see his dad's address number, 849, everywhere that he went. The lady gives me the wristband, and we look down to see 849. Just a coincidence, right? Yeah, that's what I thought too. Until we sit down to wait till the tour was going to start,
Starting point is 02:15:36 and my dad begins breaking into a sweat and begins panicking, losing his breath. He tells me he thinks he's going to throw up or defecate his pants. So, naturally, we run to the bathroom, where, when we got there, he turns to look at me to tell me that he'll be right back, and I step back in absolute confusion on my face. My dad's eyes had drastically changed in color. His eyes are a dark brown.
Starting point is 02:16:11 and his eyes suddenly mirrored a light blue, green color. At that moment, my heart dropped to my stomach, and I knew that the person in front of me was not my father. I began to shake, backing away from him, confused as hell. He was frightened by the look I gave him and began to ask me what was wrong, why I'm moving away from him as he tried to get closer to me. I told him that it wasn't him. him. I wasn't looking at my dad. I was looking at someone else. I began crying and he claims that he ran
Starting point is 02:16:49 inside the bathroom, splashed his face with cold water, and when he looked in the mirror to see himself, he saw his dad's reflection looking at him. He runs out to me just crying, saying, it's him. My dad, it's him. It was so trippy because what are you supposed to do in that situation? All we did was cry and hug each other. I never felt such a warm and safe presence. It was ever glowing. Even if my grandfather didn't actually go through my dad that day, I know he was at least there to watch us share a really insane moment.
Starting point is 02:17:32 I know a lot of people don't believe in repeating numbers, but for the ones that do, I see 849 whenever I'm going through some large, chapter in my life, moving houses, getting out of a really hard relationship, meeting my partner, etc. I like to think that it's him just letting me know he's there. I'd love to know if this has ever happened to anyone else. My dad and I still talk about it to this day, and we always wonder if it was actually him that day. Before my shift starts, I wanted to go get some gas and a red so I went to the gas station by my house that I go to basically every day.
Starting point is 02:18:27 Now, this gas station is pretty small, and it's always been the same cashier there every day, or at least every time that I go. I really only go to this gas station out of the sheer convenience of how close it is, because there's something about the cashier that I just can't explain. Every time I make eye contact with him, my fight or flight begins to go off in the smallest amount. This has never happened to me with another person unprovoked. It's just always a super strange experience interacting with this guy. Anyways, I pull into the gas station, and as I'm walking up to the place,
Starting point is 02:19:12 I noticed the cashier in his car at a pump. I can remember it so well just because I never seen him in his car, never mind outside the register area. So I just noted it and that was that. He then pulled out of the gas station basically right after I walked by him. As I was walking up to the store, I remember wondering who the cashier would be because I had never seen anyone else behind the register. I could see their head and I could tell it was a dude, but his back was to me. As I walk into the store, I look over and lo and behold, it is the exact freaking cashier as normal,
Starting point is 02:19:57 and also the same exact person that I saw drive away less than ten seconds ago. I was immediately freaked out, but I kind of brushed it off and thought that I had to be seeing things, as I'd had kind of a long night before. I grab a Red Bull, hand him a 20, and I say to put the rest on my pump. But when I looked into his eyes, I felt like a deer in headlights. I don't know why.
Starting point is 02:20:27 I pretty much forgot what I was doing and just started to walk out of the store after seeing that he put the money on my pump. Walking away without my Red Bull, he goes, Hey, don't you? You want the drink you just paid for? And starts laughing super hard in a way that just gave me the chills. It wasn't a creepy or abnormal laugh, but the way he did it made me feel like he knew something.
Starting point is 02:20:55 Like he was in on a joke and was not laughing about me forgetting my Red Bull. I can't explain it. I grab my bullpiss flavored energy drink and I get the hell out of there, freaking the hell out. because now I'm 100% positive that I saw this do two times in two different places in less than 10 seconds. And for some freaking reason, I feel like he knew. I make deliveries on Cape Cod. In the spring of 2016, I was delivering in the Yarmouth-Denis area when I suddenly found myself driving down a bumpy road through the woods.
Starting point is 02:21:49 I usually just zone out while driving and blindly follow my GPS, so I had no idea where I was. After driving for a while, the road widened and became a suburban neighborhood. Around a corner, I came across a stucco house with a big palm tree planted in the front yard. Later research revealed it to be a windmill palm that is tolerant of colder weather. It looked straight out of Florida. This is not a site typically seen in Massachusetts. So I turned around, and I recorded a video driving by and posted it to my Snap story. If you aren't familiar with Snapchat, anything you post on your story is automatically deleted after 24 hours if you don't save it.
Starting point is 02:22:40 And I did not save it. After driving off for a bit, I came upon a familiar area and made a mental note of where that palm tree was, so I could find it another time. Back then, I wasn't delivering a Cape Cod consistently, so I didn't go back to that area for about a year. When I did, I tried to find it again so I could see how the palm tree head up, and the street that I could have sworn it was on was a dead end. I thought I was only mistaken, so I drove around a bit looking for it, but to no avail. Later on, I used Google earth to scour the area for this house.
Starting point is 02:23:22 And I looked everywhere. I looked at all the surrounding towns. I searched for hours over several weeks. I used street view. I went back and looked at historical imagery from that year and nothing. Not only does the house not exist, but the road as I remembered it doesn't seem to exist. I searched social media to see if anyone could have posted about this very,
Starting point is 02:23:49 curious house on Cape Cod, but nothing comes up. I searched the local newspaper to see if there was an article written about it. I've asked my employees who deliver in that area if they have seen it. I've asked locals if they knew about it. Nothing. It's as if it never existed. And it's wild. I traveled back in time approximately 15 minutes this morning.
Starting point is 02:24:27 As the title says, this happened this morning. I have a job where I work the graveyard shift from 4 a.m. until I'm done with my work. There was a Valentine's Day rush, so I didn't get out until around 6.30. I went back to my apartment to catch another hour or two of sleep before my 9 o'clock class. I live within close walking distance, so I set my alarm for 8.40. 840 rolls around and my alarm goes off. I always put my phone underneath my pillow so that I feel the vibrations against my face. When I picked up my phone to turn it off, I noticed a few notifications from my friend, A,
Starting point is 02:25:18 messaging me on Instagram and dated 14 minutes ago. I pressed snooze on my alarm for another 10 minutes of sleep, Figuring I can still make my class if I hurry. I live about ten minutes away, but I was still in my work clothes. The snoosed alarm goes off, and I was still tired as hell, so I decided not to go and to text my friend about it later to make sure I didn't miss anything important. I put my phone down by my legs when I was done, silencing my alarm. More time passes, and another alarm goes off. I'm confused because I don't have another alarm after my initial one to wake up and go to class.
Starting point is 02:26:06 I grabbed my phone, which was still by my legs, and I saw that it was 8.40 again. I'm still super tired at this point, so it took me in minutes to fully realize what had happened. I was hesitant at first to actually wake up because some crazy crap just happened, but I don't want to mess with whatever made it happen. After a few minutes, I figured that the universe had given me a second chance to get to class, so I got up. On my way to class,
Starting point is 02:26:39 I was thinking about it some more, and I was about to chalk it up to a weird dream that I had already woken up. But then I remembered my Instagram messages from A. I didn't see the notifications when I woke up the second time, so I checked my DMs. Sure enough, A messaged me at 826, 14 minutes before 840 when I initially woke up. I have an incredibly trivial story that happened about two weeks ago, and while it is trivial, it absolutely ruined my day. I work at an office that has a lot of
Starting point is 02:27:31 people in it, now that we're no longer worried about COVID, I guess. And because there are a lot of people there, it can be both loud and awkwardly quiet at seemingly random intervals. I don't know if that makes any sense, but I feel like my office workers will get it. Sometimes people just don't know when to shut up, and sometimes it just feels weird to have that many people within 20 feet of you and nobody's saying anything at all. To combat this, I have an incredibly cheap pair of earphones that I bought at Walmart, then I keep at my desk at all times.
Starting point is 02:28:12 When I say cheap, I think I paid like $12 for them, and while they aren't the best, they do the job good enough for me. Well, two weeks ago, I was sitting at my desk and listening to music on my phone. phone when I got a notification for an impromptu meeting with a couple of my department heads. These meetings are usually just quick conversations about our current projects and what needs to be done by what day. So, they're not long and not really a huge deal. I stood up, I took my earphones out, tossing them onto my desk, and I got hit with the really
Starting point is 02:28:53 weird feeling of, they're not going to be there when you get back. I don't know why I thought this. I had never had this thought, nor the notion that they would ever disappear or be stolen from my desk, because they're cheap, and kind of gaudy. I stood there for a moment and debated taking them with me to make sure they didn't disappear for whatever reason, but I had to make a quick decision, because I needed to get to the meeting. I decided to grab them, open the drawer on my desk, shut them in the drawer and then lock it,
Starting point is 02:29:30 figuring that that would keep them safe. I then went to the meeting like normal. When I came back, I set my system back up and got to the point where I was ready to get back to work when I got hit with that really weird feeling again. Except this time, I knew they were gone. I tried to open the drawer, but it was still locked. That gave me a little bit of mental relief for a moment because that meant that there was no way they would be gone. I unlocked the drawer and went to get them, and sure enough, they weren't there.
Starting point is 02:30:07 I tore the drawer apart to find them, but they were 100% not there. They weren't in that drawer, the other drawer, nor were they anywhere on my desk at all. For all intents and purposes, my cheap, crappy earphones were completely and totally gone. I have no idea how or why they vanished, nor do I know how or why I knew they were going to vanish, but I will say that I am beyond upset with myself for not just cramming them in my pocket when I went to the meeting. What's worse, I really don't see how it's possible that they dissoned. appeared. The drawer requires a key to unlock at lock. You can't open it when it's locked, obviously, without my key. There are only two people that have the keys, myself and the
Starting point is 02:31:05 facilities manager, and he has a copy of every key. There would be no reason for him to come down to my desk specifically, open it, take my crappy earphones, and then re-lock it. I mean, I know for a fact this man makes more money than I do, and he can afford better earphones than $12 Walmart skull candy earphones. I guess I just have to accept that the universe, or the Matrix, decided I no longer needed those cheap earphones, so it took them from me, which sucks because now I have to go buy new cheap earphones. I saw a glitch in PC.
Starting point is 02:32:01 Let me begin with saying that I don't believe in ghosts, as in once a living person's spirit remaining behind. But even said, this doesn't apply because the person I saw in this glitch is still alive. My job currently has two main sights around ten miles from each other. One has hazmat material, and the other I work at doesn't. I live smack in between the two, as so is my small town. In fact, employees from the main office on nice days walk into town for lunch at one of the small restaurants. Fifteen years ago, I had a supervisor, call him Wayne, and he is a very unique person that you cannot mistake for anyone else, the way he walks, talks, and so on. When he was my supervisor, we had a third site that closed during the recession years back.
Starting point is 02:33:04 The employees were shuffled into the remaining two sites. I was lucky that I wasn't sent to the hazmat materials department, and Wayne wasn't. He had decades of experience at the main office anyway, so he went there. If asked forward to seven or eight years ago, he was also transferred into an office position at my site, He was in his mid-60s at this point. So, my company was kind enough to give him a lighter load. It was great seeing and working with him again. But time had definitely taken its toll.
Starting point is 02:33:42 He looked his age and perhaps a little bit older. I'm not going to lie. Our job is very physically tough. Well, he retired after a few years here, and I never saw him again. Until last year, I went into town to the post office on my break, and then as I get back in my car, I see him walking past my car. I yell, Wayne, hey, I got no response. It's definitely him. I saw him closely, like three feet away.
Starting point is 02:34:18 His non-response wasn't weird because he was a little hard of hearing, so I got out of my car to go walk up and say hi. I saw him walking towards the post office, and I call out Wayne as he turned the corner. At this point, I was like two or three feet away as he turned the corner. I stepped around the corner less than two seconds after him, and he was gone. There wasn't a car for him to get into, and if he went into the post office, the door wouldn't even have had time to close, even if he ran to it after turning to. the corner. There was nowhere for him to go, even if he ran like an Olympic champion. This was seconds. It was like the second he left my sight, he just vanished. And yes, I checked
Starting point is 02:35:10 the post office. I even walked the only way he could have gone. Nothing. I went back to work, and I asked everyone about him. I thought maybe he came off retirement and was working in the main office again and was on break. Didn't explain how he disappeared, but no, no one has seen or heard from him again since he retired. Every explanation that I could think of did not account for him disappearing like that. Then it hit me. I was asked about him at my job. He didn't look how he did when I saw him last.
Starting point is 02:35:48 He looked like he did when I worked with him back when we had the third location, at least 10 to 15 years younger. As I said, I don't believe in ghosts, but I thought what if I found out that he died? I would have to adjust my beliefs. I dug and found out that he is very much alive and just while living in another state. So what did I see?
Starting point is 02:36:15 It was him, his very distinctive swagger, his glasses. I saw him close up. I wasn't thinking about him at all when I saw him. Could it have been a dopleganger? A temporal echo? Or has he become just a background NPC and I wasn't supposed to notice? Or one that wasn't meant to be spawned in? I don't know.
Starting point is 02:36:41 But it makes me wonder if we are in a simulation, and some people are NPCs. But then, who else is? Who is real? What is real? I don't think I want to know. I usually like to write a lot of fictional horror stories and that kind of stuff. But the story is the exception.
Starting point is 02:37:16 I have experienced all of this. This is one of my first memories. I was about three or four years old. I was in my aunt's home. She lived on the third floor of an old apartment building in the downtown of my city. The rooftop was a place where all the tenants could hang out the laundry to sun dry. You could access the rooftop by the main stairs of the building. The staircase entry in the rooftop was next to a little apartment that was originally built for the doorman, but it was always empty.
Starting point is 02:37:53 There were always two doors, the one on the right takes you to the staircase, and the one on the left takes you to this little apartment. Well, that day, I went with my aunt to the rooftop to help her with the laundry. Everything was normal until I got out of the staircase and saw that we came from the wrong door. Now the staircase was in the left door, so I asked my aunt why and who moved the staircase to the other door. She was confused by my question, but didn't give me any importance. Other times that I went there with her, I asked the same, always referring to that day when I noticed that the staircase was in the wrong door.
Starting point is 02:38:42 Now, speaking with my aunt about this, she tells me about that one random day that I went with her to the rooftop, and I mentioned the staircase position change. She was confused because I was so sure about what I was saying, but she didn't give any importance to my words because the stairs were always in the left, even if I remembered them always in the right until that day. I've never had any brain problems or accidents,
Starting point is 02:39:15 and my aunt and cousin remember me talking about the staircase being moved, and that something was very strange. If I transported to a parallel universe, this one, at this point I don't want to come back to my original one. I've made almost my whole life here, and I'm okay with it. So, this is something that happened a few years ago, and I would absolutely love to get some answers about it. I'm open to any explanation because I haven't been able to come up with any solid ones.
Starting point is 02:40:00 Back in 2018, I noticed a scar on my finger that hadn't been there before. It was a clear, distinct slash, probably about three-quarters of an inch right across the palm side of my middle knuckle. It was pale and silvery, like it had been there at least a couple of years. And when I ran my fingernail across it, I could feel a small ridge of scar tissue underlying it, like I would have if it had originally been a somewhat deep cut. When I first noticed it, I was baffled. I didn't remember any scar in that location,
Starting point is 02:40:42 and I didn't remember any sort of injury that could have left it. But I can also admit that I scar pretty easily, and I don't have the greatest memory. If it was just a scar that I didn't remember getting, I'd be willing enough to just accept it as a glitch in my own brain and nothing else. The thing is, that scar was abidstable. Absolutely not there a couple days earlier. And I can prove it.
Starting point is 02:41:08 I make jewelry as a hobby. And just three days before, I had sent pictures of my hand holding a pendant that I was working on to one of my friends, and there's very plainly no scar on my finger in these photos. It's been four years now, and I still have the scar. I think it's faded a little, but it's still visible and hasn't really changed in shape or size.
Starting point is 02:41:33 I shared the photos and the stories with my mom and a couple friends at the time, and none of them had any answers either. Even ignoring the photos, it's clear enough and in a location that I just don't see how I could have gotten an injury like this and forgotten about it. It looks like it would have probably been bloody, painful and been aggravating to deal with while it healed. I've found nicks and bruises that I don't remember getting before, but nothing like this. The only explanation that I've ever come up with is that I was doing some woodburning at the time, and I guess I could have theoretically burned myself and missed it. I tried wrapping my hand around the wood burner, turned off, and the circumference of the scar could maybe line up with the edge of the round metal part of the top beneath the plastic handle,
Starting point is 02:42:27 if the angle was right. But that still doesn't make sense to me. First of all, it's my left hand and I'm right-handed. Second of all, I would have had to have wrapped my finger around the metal part while it was on, and I couldn't come up with a scenario or position that would have caused me to do that, especially since I've been using that burner for years, and managed to not do anything that stupid before. Third of all, I have burnt myself with that wood burner before,
Starting point is 02:43:02 including the top round portion, and it's instantly and very noticeably painful. I can't imagine myself getting a burn this large, and just not noticing it. It's not like it's hot enough to instantly result in nerve damage. Finally, there was never any redness, pain, or blistering. I've poked and prodded at it, moved my finger around,
Starting point is 02:43:30 and it's never felt any different, than any normal years-old scar. To this day, it's just a total mystery that's baffled me ever since, and I would love to get an answer. Does anyone have any explanations? Has anyone else had something like this happen? When I was 16 years old, I used to drive a scooter to my school. I always used to put my wallet in cabinet of my back seat,
Starting point is 02:44:10 which we refer to as Dicky in our country. One fine day, after leaving the school, when I opened Dicky of my scooter, I realized that my wallet was gone. I panicked, not only because my wallet had money in it, but it also contained a photo of my then-girlfriend, and I didn't want some stranger to get a hold of her photo. I checked my compartment again and again, but the wallet was nowhere to be found.
Starting point is 02:44:42 That night, I told my girlfriend about this incident, and she even panicked and scolded me for keeping her photo in my wallet, and then carelessly keeping the wallet in the dicky of scooter, which I parked in my school parking lot. Thankfully, the parking lot had many CCTV cameras, which were working 24-7. So, the next day after taking permission to review the footage, I went to the CCTV room and fast-forwarded the footage of the previous day.
Starting point is 02:45:14 I watched the footage from the moment I parked to the moment I left the premise. Nothing to be found. I even told one of our lecturers the same thing. And the same day, he too checked the back seat of the scooter and even ordered the watchman to look up in the parking lot and also took me to Lost and Found of my school, but nothing. Three days later, I had given up and made peace that my wallet had been stolen, and so was the photo of my girlfriend. But all of a sudden, that day after leaving school, I saw my wallet in my dicky.
Starting point is 02:45:52 It had the exact same amount of money. None of it was stolen, not even the coins. And most importantly, the photo was also there. I found my wallet in the same condition. I told the watchman that I had found my wallet, and he laughingly said that someone might have pulled a prank on me. I just believed him and decided to change the lock of my scooter, which I did, and nothing like this ever happened again afterwards. I don't know how and why, but I still remember each and every detail of that event, and no one believes me when I tell them this story. They think that I just didn't search enough, or simply that I've made it up.
Starting point is 02:46:34 To get to the kitchen from my old bedroom at my mom's house, you had to walk down a small hallway and past my sister's room. At the time, my sister was a baby and still sleeping in a crib. One day as I was walking past my sister's room to the kitchen, I spotted my mom leaning over the crib peering down at her. I quickly changed course and headed for the room to ask my mom a question, but before I, I even took two steps in her direction. She looked up at me, put her finger over her lips, indicating to be quiet, and my sister was napping, and made another hand gesture shewing me away. So I turned back around and walked straight to the kitchen.
Starting point is 02:47:32 However, when I got to the kitchen, my mom was standing there making sandwiches. Stunned? I asked her if she was just in my sister's room and told her what I'd seen. But she said she hadn't been in there for about 20 minutes. Of course, when we went to check out the room, nothing was out of place, and my sister was still sleeping. This has always puzzled me and melts my mind when I think about it too much. I literally saw my mother in the baby's room, had a brief non-verbal interaction with her, and then about ten seconds later saw her again in the kitchen,
Starting point is 02:48:12 and she had no recollection of the first incident. It was broad daylight, and no one else was home except us three. Given the layout of the house, there is absolutely no way anyone could have come in or out without us noticing, since the doors to both the front yard and backyard are visible from the kitchen, where my mom was standing making us lunch. I've never been able to rationally explain this experience. experience, and I often wonder what would have happened if I ignored her gestures and continued on into the room. So my mom, my brother, and I moved into a new house in December. I spend most
Starting point is 02:49:08 of my spare time in the kitchen as I love to eat, cook, and bake. The photo attached might help you understand what my kitchen looks like, and where the lights and light switches are. A couple of weeks ago, I went to turn the light on in the kitchen, because I always walked down the hall and flick it as soon as I turn the corner, and it wasn't there anymore. I looked around on the wall and on the other side of the hall, and there was just a thermostat. I don't use the thermostat, because I don't ever feel the needs,
Starting point is 02:49:45 so I wouldn't have mistaken it for that. plus I remember it being around the corner. I went to do it again tonight, out of habit, and I asked my mother if she remembers a light switch being there. And she said, That's really weird. I was thinking the exact same thing. Probably just something with our brains adjusting from the old place.
Starting point is 02:50:12 She doesn't really believe in stuff like glitches in the Matrix, or parallel universes. so I just said, yeah, probably. But inside, I knew it wasn't because of that. My heart was racing and I was shaking a lot. I felt so weird about it. It couldn't have been because of the old place either because we've been here for three months now,
Starting point is 02:50:40 and the old place was nothing like this. I find it so scary that she agrees, but comforting then I'm not going crazy. The light switch for the kitchen is now a double switch with the dining room light over across the room by the sliding glass door. She doesn't remember that either. Edit, my best friend also remembers the light switch. We bake cupcakes together often. Also, I forgot to mention the light over the sink.
Starting point is 02:51:14 It is its own separate switch, but I never used it much because it. It's not enough to light up the whole kitchen. There are two times in my life, where I had a dream that played out in real-life hours after waking up. The first time was eight and a half years ago. It was the night before my ninth birthday, where I dreamt that a girl in my third grade sat to my left at lunch. She said, I'm going to sit by the birthday girl today. The day, subsequently after the dream. the same exact thing happened.
Starting point is 02:52:02 The same girl came to my lunch table, sat to my left, and said the same thing about sitting next to me, the birthday girl. I comment how that was in my dream last night and then went on with the rest of my day. Then, a week ago, a similar thing happened. I had a dream of a certain scene from the show DeGrosi the next generation, where a character named Zig stole money from a student council booth, and his friends confronted him about it in the music room of the school. After waking up, it was Labor Day,
Starting point is 02:52:40 which meant that I didn't have college classes. So the night before, I set my alarm earlier than usual so I could finally get caught up on laundry since I had been busy over the last few weeks. After waking up, I didn't remember the dream at first, but I decided to watch Degrossi in the background while doing laundry. There's a channel on Pluto TV that plays all of the over 300 episodes of the show, chronologically, on repeat. After watching a little bit of the show, I remember the dream that I'd had the night before, and I found it funny that even in my dreams, I'm addicted to the show.
Starting point is 02:53:24 As the episode goes on, I start to notice that certain plot points are appearing to hint at the scene from my dream. I've watched the show a lot, so I started to piece together that the scene from my dreams was coming soon. Some of the episodes are in two parts, so when I started watching about halfway through part one, I knew what was about to happen in part two. when I saw the exact scene play out of the character Zig being confronted by his friends about the money that he took from the student council booth in the music room I was so shocked
Starting point is 02:54:04 the fact that it was one in over 300 episodes the show playing within an hour of me being awake that I saw it blows my mind and the fact that if I hadn't woken up early to tend to laundry then I wouldn't have seen it live on the show. It makes me wonder about what else I may have dreamt that came true without my knowledge,
Starting point is 02:54:31 or if I didn't remember the predictive dream.
