And as always, thank you. I have a really weird story that happened to me about six months ago. And it's actually one of those things that really messed with my head after it happened. Like I said, this was around my birthday, which is in the first week of August. I just turned 18 last year, so I still live with my parents as I've been finishing school
Starting point is 00:01:36 and planning on my college. And my brother also lives with us. He's 22, and during the pandemic, he lost his job. And his lease on his apartment also came up for renewal, so he decided that moving back home when he had the opportunity to do so was a good idea. The week of my birthday, we were planning a family dinner to celebrate, and we were going to have my grandma and my aunts come over. Basically, it was supposed to be a fun little get-together among close family, making the most of what we had and the day in general.
Starting point is 00:02:16 My mom was making dinner, my grandma and my aunts were all in the living room talking, and my dad and siblings were out in the backyard. My mom then lets out a fairly large, damn it, and naturally, thinking something was wrong, I walked in and asked if she was okay. She tells me to go get my brother, so I do. She then mentions to him that she had forgotten to get the candles for my cake. I tell her it's not really a big deal that we don't need to do all that, and she insists, saying it's my last birthday as her little girl, and that this would be the last time she could ever do this for me. I wasn't going to fight it after that.
Starting point is 00:03:02 She had her mind set on what she wanted to do, And that was it. My brother gets his keys, and he asks me if I want to go with him to the store. At first I said yes, but then my mom chimed in and said, No, I want you to go spend time with your grandma. He'll be fine. I say sorry, and he makes a comment about how he's going to find yellow candles since I don't have to go.
Starting point is 00:03:31 I hate the color yellow with the passion, so this was him taunting me. I head to the living room. He goes out to his car, and we move on from there. I was sitting in the living room talking to my grandma when I got hit with this really weird sense of dread. It was like a panic attack was coming on, but it was not a panic attack. It was this really weird feeling of the entire world coming down on me. That's the only way I know how to explain it. I was feeling normal, and within the next few minutes, I was feeling like the literal sky was crashing down around me,
Starting point is 00:04:14 and that the earth was going to split in two and swallow me up without a second thought. I excused myself as best as I could, and ran to the bathroom. As soon as I shut the door, I got this horrible feeling like I was literally punched in the stomach. If you've ever been punched, you know the feeling. Your lungs empty, you hunch over instinctively, your eyes start to water, and you can feel the blood pressure building up in your eyes. Don't ask how I know this. At this point, I'm sitting on the floor of the bathroom feeling like I had just gotten my ass kicked, and still feeling this god-awful sense of dread.
Starting point is 00:04:58 And I have no idea how long I was just sitting there and waiting for it to pass. I would say it was probably ten to fifty, 15 minutes or so before I opened the door to head back out. And as soon as I did, I saw my mother, grandmother, and my aunts all in the back living room, all kind of huddled up and crying. I head in, and as soon as I get in there, my mom turns to hug me tightly, and then tells me that my brother was in an accident, and that he was being rushed to a nearby hospital. She said that he wasn't in critical condition, but that he was really badly banged up,
Starting point is 00:05:42 and that they were going to head up there to see him right away. Long story short on this, he was hit nearly head-on by another car, someone that wasn't paying attention to the road, and had pretty much taken a left turn straight into his car. He had a couple broken bones, but nothing terribly severe, and if anyone cares he has made a full recovery. The part that gets me, that actually bothers me, is that this person hit the passenger's side of the car more than the driver's side.
Starting point is 00:06:19 And based on what I saw of the car, if I had been in that seat, I would have most likely been severely injured or worse. And, based on the timeline of events, He most likely got hit around the same time I started feeling that horrible dread and the pain in my stomach. I know that this sounds really dumb to some people, but in my mind I was supposed to be in that car. I'm not a huge believer in fate or destiny, but I feel like that was supposed to be my end. somehow my mom managed to intervene with what was supposed to happen and told me that I had to stay but because she changed what was supposed to happen I ended up still feeling some of what had happened
Starting point is 00:07:12 almost like I was still in the seat at that time but it was out of place I know that sounds really weird and maybe hard to understand but I really do feel like I did some sort of weird quantum timeline shift, and managed to get out of a fatal situation. However, the Matrix was a bit slow to update, and I still got to feel what I would have felt in the crash. I've been an avid listener and reader of glitch stories for quite a while, and I've always enjoyed them in thoughts that they were entertaining, if not kind of terrifying. And, as most people say, I honestly never thought that I would have anything like this happened to me. That is, until it did. And when it did, I was both excited and confused.
Starting point is 00:08:16 This story or glitch has two parts, so bear with me as I explained the weird stuff that happened. And if I miss any details, I do apologize. So this whole story happened. about two weeks ago. On Monday night, I had had a bit of a rough night's sleep, and when I did finally fall asleep, I ended up sleeping through my first alarm, and didn't wake up until my, hey, you're late, alarm went off.
Starting point is 00:08:48 By the time I finally woke up, I looked over at the clock, and it was 6.33. I needed to be at work by seven, and, based in my normal routine, and how long it was going to take me to get there, there was absolutely zero way that I was going to make it to the office on time. I jumped out of bed, did what I needed to do as best as I could with the little time that I had, and I dialed my boss to let him know that I was going to be a bit late because I overslept.
Starting point is 00:09:20 He told me that that was fine because he had actually done the same thing, so it wasn't a huge deal. I hung up and I drove quickly, though safely, and no faster than the same thing. the speed limit to the office. I pulled into my normal parking spot, grabbed my bag, and then grabbed my phone. As I grabbed my phone, I hit the screen and it lit up, which showed the time, and I had to pause. Right there, on the screen of my phone, the time showed that it was 6.40 a.m. When I woke up, it was 6.33.
Starting point is 00:09:57 I know this because I looked at my phone when I got up. I panicked when I saw the time. When I called my boss, and this is in my recent calls, it was 6.38 a.m. There is no way that I made it to the office within two minutes of calling him, and there is no way that I could have made the drive to the office, a drive that takes almost 30 minutes every other day, within seven minutes of me waking up. I have no idea how I beat time on my way to the office,
Starting point is 00:10:28 however, I managed to do so. I ended up just accepting that something in the universe gave me the ability to make that drive at the speed of light. I moved on to get into the office and gets to my desk. This is where the second part of the story happened, at the office. I was still a bit shaken up by the whole getting to the office and record time thing, but I figured that there had to be some kind of logical explanation or something that I was missing. Or otherwise, it was just something that happened that I needed to ignore and not even think about. I walked into the office, and I sat at my desk and got all my stuff set up,
Starting point is 00:11:10 when my boss walks out of his office and says, I thought you were going to be late. I just kind of laughed at off and said that I thought I was too, but said that I had managed to get everything sorted and get there on time. I should add here that at no point in this conversation, did I actually look up at my manager. I just knew it was him by his voice and the way he spoke. I was busy setting up my workstation for the day.
Starting point is 00:11:40 I knew that he was standing where he was because he was in my peripheral vision, and the blur that was in the side of my vision was the right height and size to be my boss. After that really short back and forth, he walked away toward the main lobby, I'm assuming to go upstairs and get coffee. After I got my desk all organized and ready for the day, I decided that I would head upstairs and get some coffee myself, and maybe something to eat really quick. I walked out of the wing of the building and into the main area, and who do I see walking in the front door, but my boss? Now, one could say that he just walked out to his car or something and came back in, and that's why he was coming back.
Starting point is 00:12:25 But my manager is a motorcycle rider. and he always walks into the building in his gear, helmet, knee guards, etc., and just takes them off in his office. When he walked into the building, he was wearing his gear like he had just gotten there from riding. As soon as he saw me, he pulled his helmet off and said, Hey, I thought you were going to be late. I was confused, for multiple reasons. How was it possible that he was just getting to the office when I had spoken to him earlier? He didn't have enough time to get his gear back on, and then leave and come back between when I spoke to him at my desk and this moment when I saw him walking in.
Starting point is 00:13:09 I kind of just said, yeah, but I made it on time. Weren't you just in here? He said no, and that he had just gotten there and motioned toward his writing gear. I just sort of nodded and said okay and moved on. Honestly, this whole morning was so... incredibly weird. But there wasn't anything else other than these two events that happened. I don't know what exactly happened, if this was a timeline thing or whatever, but it was so
Starting point is 00:13:41 bizarre. I really don't have any sort of logical explanation for any of it. Other than, I guess my boss could have been playing a prank on me, but then why? There was nothing to gain from it. and he's not exactly a comedian. In fact, he's a bit of a stickler. In the end, these are really the only two strange glitch-like occurrences that I have ever experienced, and to have them both on the same morning was downright weird.
Starting point is 00:14:25 While I experienced a time glitch at work last year in May of 2021, it was not my first time-related glitch in the Matrix. My first glitch related to time took place at the library at the University of California, Santa Barbara, during my first year of college. Note, this is a rather detailed composition of my experience. Originally, I had written about it near the time of the event in an email, before forwarding it across several email accounts, and then finally transferring my story to my long, defunct online. journal. A rest in peace, Zanga in the blog section of MySpace. I finally decided to share this publicly with a few present-day details. I attended UCSB from 2000 to 2004. I barely went out in order to not spend any money, if possible, and probably used all the credits on my meal
Starting point is 00:15:30 plan for the school year. Quick shout out to Ortega dining commons for the takeout meals that sustained me during some all-night cramming sessions. As a bookish student, I spent a lot of time at Davidson Library in my freshman year, choosing the floor I would study at with no rhyme or reason. By the end of the school year, I could honestly say that I have studied on each floor of the library at least once, including inside the spectacular Pacific view room on the 8th floor. Halfway into the first quarter of the school year, in the middle of October of 2000, I began preparing for my midterms. I was not the type of person who could study at home, treating my dorm room at Santa Rosa residence hall as my bedroom and nothing else.
Starting point is 00:16:23 The glitch took place after I had taken half of my midterms. I had taken two of my midterms in as many days so far, and met up with my roommates at the same time. at Ortega for lunch at around noon. Afterward, we parted ways as he headed for the University Center, U-SEN, to start his shift at the bookstore, thanks to a work-study program, while I headed over to Davidson Library. I entered the library through the Davidson entrance since, at the time, it was the main entrance to the library.
Starting point is 00:16:59 This shows my age, as major renovations saw the construction. of a new library entrance, and a wing a decade after I graduated and left the school. I headed for the Ocean's elevator, a set of three elevators with access to all eight floors at the library tower, and I pressed the up button. The middle elevator opened immediately. I stepped inside, turned around, and pressed the button for the eighth floor. After a short wait, the elevator doors closed, and I went up to the eighth floor alone without stopping on any of the floors in between. When the elevator doors opened on the eighth floor, I stepped outside the elevator, and took two steps, and abruptly stopped in my tracks. I was surrounded by the exposed concrete floor slab, save for the elevated tile flooring I was standing on directly.
Starting point is 00:18:00 in front of the elevator. There was construction equipment and bags of masonry material everywhere. But there were no walls or windows to speak of. Undoubtedly, the place that I ended up was under construction and opened to the elements. I went back inside the elevator to see which floor I was on, and the LED panel showed a number eight with a down arrow. Tentatively, I went back outside. and walked straight from the elevator due west toward the edge of the apparent construction area.
Starting point is 00:18:36 In the distance, I saw the setting sun slowly dipping below the horizon of the Pacific Ocean. If you go to the beach to watch the sunset at UCSB over the course of the year, you'll see that, thanks to the tilt of the earth. The sunsets over the Pacific Ocean during the colder winter months, and over the California mainland during the warmer spring and summer months. Seeing the sunset caught me off guard almost right away, since it was not supposed to occur for several hours. After all, my roommate and I had left the dining commons together at about five minutes before 1 p.m.
Starting point is 00:19:19 so that he wouldn't be late for work. I was further shocked by something else I saw, or rather didn't see. I looked down at the U-Send by the campus, lagoon, and Stork Tower was not there. I mean, there's no way anyone on campus could overlook a bell and clock tower that stands at 175 feet, let alone from the vantage point of the eighth floor of the library. I turned to my right, looking due north, and saw the peaks of the Santa Yines Mountains,
Starting point is 00:19:56 covered in snow. As far as I knew, no precipitation of any kind had fallen yet in the Santa Barbara area since the beginning of the school year, never mind any rain in the local beach areas and especially not any snow in the local mountains. While I stared at the snow-covered mountains, a small plane emerged from just below my field of vision and gained altitude, apparently taking off from the local airport. After the plane disappeared from sight, I looked down and saw the rooftop of the original two-story library adjacent to the library tower. I did an about face and looked due south toward the Pacific Ocean. In the distance, I saw Santa Cruz Island of the Channel Islands archipelago just off the coast.
Starting point is 00:20:48 When I looked down, I was stunned to find that the four-story wing built just south of the library tower, was missing. In its place, were far more bicycle racks than I remember seeing previously, as these bike racks extended from the bike path to the edge of the library tower. By the way, I had only been on the eighth floor for about two minutes so far, so I was somewhat surprised when I saw that the doors of the elevator I took were still open as I turned around. While taking all of this in, I snapped.
Starting point is 00:21:26 back to my purpose of being there at the library in the first place, and promptly headed due east for behind the elevators, where the Pacific View Room should have been. Unfortunately, this area was also under construction. I looked over this edge of the concrete floor slab, and I saw Webb Hall below. Given the distance between the library and Webb Hall, another building could very well fit in the open space. I looked up and in the distance, I saw the mesa, an expansive neighborhood in the city of Santa Barbara.
Starting point is 00:22:05 UCSB is technically in the city of Galeta, but that's a story for another time. The neighborhood diverted my attention for something I was not expecting to see. Streetlights. The apparent sunset meant that the streetlights were slowly turning on throughout the city as it became evening. I was not going to get caught in the darkness of an apparently unfinished library floor that did not have electricity or lights.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Nor did I want to stick around in a place and time that was very different from the one that I came from. I headed for the elevator that I took, since the doors were still open, and pressed the one button. The doors promptly closed, and I headed back downstairs. As I made my way down, I had come to the disconcerting conclusion that, some way, somehow, I went back in time. It wasn't just an abrupt change in time of day, either. I briefly ended up in the past, when the library tower was still under construction,
Starting point is 00:23:15 while Stork Tower and the four-story wing of the library did not yet exist. When I reached the first floor, I stepped outside the elevator, and looked to my right. I saw the long passageway connecting the library tower to the original library. Adjacents to the elevators were several pay phones, as well as a dorm phone. My roommate and I opted to not get a landline for our dorm, since we had cell phones anyway. I turned to my left and walked towards the entrance that I had just walked through mere minutes ago.
Starting point is 00:23:52 To my enormous relief, I saw the current. Serials section, which houses printed magazines, journals, and newspapers, and is located on the lower level of the first floor of the four-story wing. Next to the entrance of this section is a staircase leading to the ethnic and gender studies section on the second floor of the same wing. There were lots of people on the staircase going in both directions as I headed for the exit. I looked through the glass doors and realized that. that not only was I back in the present time,
Starting point is 00:24:29 but also the same time of day as when I arrived there, just five minutes ago. As I stepped outside the library, soaring between Gervitz Hall and the music library was Stork Tower. I walked toward the tower and paused upon arriving at the entrance of the music library. I continued looking up at the Stork Tower, still pondering what I had seen, while up in the library tower.
Starting point is 00:24:57 I went inside the Yusin, found a table outside of a cafe, and studied for my third midterm until 5 p.m. When my roommate got off work at the bookstore. He was surprised to see me, of course. Over dinner, back at the Ortega, I told him everything that I had experienced just after lunch that day. He was skeptical, but he ultimately believed me. especially because he felt that my earnest recollection of that day's events over the years,
Starting point is 00:25:30 we still keep in touch to this day, was the only time that he had ever sensed fear in me. This was the one and only such event that I ever experienced during my time at UCSB. I've been to the eighth floor of the library tower countless times since, until I graduated. But I never went back in time again. I've taken my roommate and our friends there. I've taken my family there when my sister was exploring colleges. She ended up going to UCSC.
Starting point is 00:26:02 She'd rather be a banana slug than a couch, I guess. I've taken classmates and even a girlfriend there. Sadly, I was not able to replicate my experience of going back in time with any of them. During the elevator rides to the eighth floor, I would secretly hope that the doors are. would open to a construction site with random, but prominent features from the university's skyline missing in all directions, only to be disappointed upon seeing the scale model of the university as soon as the elevator doors opened on the eighth floor, and, ultimately, a long ago
Starting point is 00:26:41 fully built library floor with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, each and every time. Hey Raven. Firstly, your channel is awesome, and I find myself listening to your stories on YouTube religiously, especially the glitch stories, so here's mine. As an aside, I want to say thank you, Mike. I do appreciate that. This happened back in 2003, just a few months before my daughter was born. My grandmother lived in this very secluded part of Pennsylvania, near a place called ringing rocks.
Starting point is 00:27:28 The area is just odd, so to speak, especially at night. My mom had an Irock Camaro at the time, which succumbed to mechanical issues, unfortunately. After sitting for a couple of years down on my grandmother's property, my mom asked me and my girlfriend at the time, my daughter's mother, to go grab a couple of things out of the car, as well as the license plate from the car. We were always up late, so we decided to make the trip down at around 1.30 in the morning. Once we got there, being that she lived in the woods, it was absolutely pitch black, short of one random light that barely worked, on the opposite side of the property. Being that it was so dark out, leaving the car running with the lights on wasn't the best idea,
Starting point is 00:28:21 since I didn't want to startle or wake my grandmother from her sleep. Using this cheap light that I randomly found in this poor excuse of a roadside emergency kit, I began to grab a few small things that I needed from inside the car. Finishing that up, I moved to the trunk, rummaged through to get what other things I needed, closed the hatch, and then was on to the license plate. My grandmother's house always messed me up at night because of how unsettling the place is in the dark. Even now, as a 38-year-old man who carries a firearm religiously, I still go into Wimp mode down there. As I'm removing the license plate, I turned to my then-girlfriend to see if she could hold the light for me, since the screws were rusty, and I needed to put a little work into removing them.
Starting point is 00:29:14 She got out of the car and started walking towards me, which, where she was, was only about 50 to 60 feet away, not too far at all. It was summer, so naturally it was warm outside, especially with how the humidity is here. As I turned back from asking for help, I got this unbelievably strong sense of discomfort, as if something was glaring at me. Clishay, I know. I just so happened to catch a glimpse of something in my peripherals, so I turned to my grandmother's back porch, and I about fell out. standing there was my grandmother
Starting point is 00:29:55 in this white 1920s or 1930s style nightgown my grandmother had this crazy long white hair in which she always tied up in one way or another but when I saw her her hair was down and really really straight she just stood there
Starting point is 00:30:18 she didn't move she didn't say anything and it looked as if she was floating just a couple of inches from the ground. Everything was still and so quiet. Quiet enough that you could, in Mike's words, hear a tick fart. I blinked and she was gone. I looked at my then-girlfriend and she was still sitting in the car. I asked her what she was doing and she asked what I meant.
Starting point is 00:30:46 I said that I needed her help and asked her to hold the light. I asked her why she sat back down and she said that she had never gone. gotten up and that that was the first time I'd asked her. I looked at the time, and almost 20 minutes had passed, from the time that I asked her the first time for help, until the second time I'd asked. I practically ripped the license plate off of that car, grabbed the few things that I got from inside the car, jumped in her car, and I sped away from my grandmother's house. She obviously knew that something was wrong because she said I had absolutely no complexion in my face, and I was shaking. I proceeded to tell her, and at first she didn't believe me. But after showing her the text messages
Starting point is 00:31:34 I had sent to my brother at the time, and put the pieces together, she equally seemed unsettled. Because when we realized that the 20-minute difference in time that I experienced, which put us at my grandmother's house for almost 45 minutes in total, was twice as long as her phone and conclusion was, which only came to us being there for about 20 to 25 minutes. I still get chills about it. I truly haven't had a single clue as to what happened, or why I saw her like that, but my ex didn't see her. I asked my grandmother why she was outside and she looked at me like I was crazy and, well, I don't blame her for saying that. Because I absolutely felt that way. Unfortunately, my grandmother passed on New Year's Eve in 2017, so it's something that I'll always wonder
Starting point is 00:32:31 about. Does anyone have any idea and what it might have been? It really seems like it was a spooky and paranormal glitch to me. I used to work at a grocery store. as a cashier. And it was a pretty boring job, but I have one story that was pretty crazy that I thought I would go ahead and share. It was a pretty normal day. I was bored out of my mind from ringing people up, taking money, cleaning the front of the store. I'm not going to say that I liked the job. It was just kind of a paycheck to me, so I didn't really pay much attention to the customers or what they looked like.
Starting point is 00:33:25 We started to get busy in the late afternoon, as we always did, and I was ringing up an older woman that was very polite and talkative. I'm not very sociable. Plus, like I said, I didn't like the job, so I was keeping the small talk, well, small. She asked how I was doing, and I told her I was fine. I commented on her scarf because it was a really pretty shade of blue, and she thanked me. She mentioned some of the deals, just things like that.
Starting point is 00:34:01 Standard grocery store cash register conversation. I got through her items, and I told her her total, and I even remember the exact number that she owed. It was $35 and 72 cents altogether. She handed me a 20, a 10, a 5, and a 1. So, all of the common denominations of cash. I gave her her change, and she told me to have a blessed day. I ring up the next guy in line.
Starting point is 00:34:31 It was a pretty quick transaction as it was a co-worker, and he was just buying stuff for his lunch. He made a comment about how busy we were, and that was that. Then, when I finished with him, I looked up at the next person in my line, and, much to my surprise, it was that same old lady from before. I grinned and asked her if she had forgotten a few things from earlier, and she kind of just stared at me and asked what I meant.
Starting point is 00:35:00 I made a comment about how she had been in earlier, and she said that she had only been there for about half an hour, and shopping, and that she hadn't come up to the front at all in that time. I then laughed and just mentioned that there was another lady that looked just like her, and that she honestly could have been her twin. same coat, scarf, everything. She remarked that that was pretty crazy since she had made the scarf herself by hand, so it was one of a kind.
Starting point is 00:35:32 We made similar small talk, and I just took it as, oh, it was two people that looked the same, and moved on. It wasn't really a huge deal at the time. After I rang up all of her items, I looked at the screen to tell her her total. $35 and $7.7.2. I laughed and told the lady that that was the same total the other lady had had, and she'd had different items. She laughed and said that it was really crazy. She then told me to have a blessed day, and we moved on.
Starting point is 00:36:08 Now, that all in and of itself is weird, but it got weirder. About two hours later, we had slowed down, but we're still fairly busy, and I looked up to greet the next customer. in line. And, sure enough, it was the same old lady. Same face, same coat, same bright blue scarf. This time, I didn't say anything to her about looking like the other two. I kind of thought that maybe she was pranking me or something, so I figured I would make small talk and see if she cracked. I told her that I really liked her scarf. She thanked me, and I then asked her if she had made it. She said that she did, and even started in on how complicated it was to knit the whole thing,
Starting point is 00:36:57 because the pattern that she'd had was a bit off. I nodded and kept the small talk going, and at the end of ringing her items up, I didn't even look at the screen at all. I turned toward her, and I decided that I would just make a joke about how, without looking at the total, I could tell her that she owed $35 and $72. sense. She glanced behind me at the screen and laughed, asking how I did that. I laughed, but then looked and was blown away at the fact that I was correct. It was at that point that I decided that this wasn't a prank, and that something in reality had broken. I told her that she was the third lady
Starting point is 00:37:41 with the same blue scarf to come through with the exact same total over the last few hours. She laughed at me and thought that I was joking. I could tell that she didn't think I was being serious, so I just let it go. I took her money, and then, as if on script, she walked away and told me to have a blessed day. I tried to make sense of it all, but the more that I tried to rationalize it, the more confused I became. I even asked one of my coworkers if they had noticed it, but they just looked at me as if I was crazy. I still don't know what caused this glitch in the Matrix or what it all means, but I know that it was the weirdest experience of my time at that store. And it's something that all honestly never forget.
Starting point is 00:38:31 Sometimes the world around us can be stranger than we think. And I guess sometimes the Matrix runs out of characters and just has to double up. Okay, so last night, I believe I don't. traveled to some sort of parallel universe, which deviated quite extremely from the one that we're in now. As I wake up in the dream, everything from when I open my eyes, get on my phone to finally getting out of bed was the same and as real as any other normal day. All the same, and nothing at all out of the ordinary. At this point, it is a totally real and normal day. I'm not one bit aware that I'm dreaming.
Starting point is 00:39:28 Fast forward a few hours, and my mother brings up COVID, and how she wishes she could go back to when she could go out and order actual food. I ask her why not. I'll just go out to the car and grab something for lunch. She laughs and tells me that she'd love that, so I go to grab my keys and head out. She follows me out and asks what the hell I'm doing as I'm starting. the car up. Something isn't right.
Starting point is 00:39:57 My gas meter is almost empty. I have about an eighth of a tank when I went to fill it up just the day before. At this point, things start to seem seriously off. On top of my mother's yelling to get back inside, I'm almost baffled by the fact that I have no gas whatsoever in my vehicle. More or less worried about how much gasoline is these days. When I get back inside, I further talk or argue with my mother until she brings up COVID once more and talks about how I could get it at any second outside and that I know the lethality of it.
Starting point is 00:40:39 I'm dumbstruck, as I hadn't been around any people whatsoever. I live in a rural area until I go online and discover something that terrifies me. COVID had apparently killed over a billion people so far, and from what I read, it seems that contracting it and dying is a 50-50 chance, while actually recovering from the disease leaves you horribly crippled for life, needing constant medical help.
Starting point is 00:41:10 At this point, I know it can't be real. Just yesterday, the world wasn't exactly recovering, but it wasn't nearly this bad. From what my mother told me, in my own Google searches, most smaller European countries had fallen already and were in a state of total anarchy and chaos if the people in said countries weren't already dead. The U.S. wasn't that far off.
Starting point is 00:41:36 Now I'm in a nightmare. Humanity is expected to fall from this, and I'm at a complete loss at what to do. I'm fast-forwarding this because this dream, if you can call it that, It seemed to last for literal months in my mind. I have intense and actual memories that I can recall from the entire encounter. About three months into the dream, the entire world is screaming as it dies. The U.S. government and many others have fallen, and everything is in total chaos.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Everything I've watched or read about in this reality cannot relate to the horrors of this new world. world. The things people will do to survive, let alone to gain a single piece of food. At this point, I'm mentally and emotionally ruined, as well as starving. I have no idea how I survived for even this long, let alone my entire family. The thing is, we took up refuge about two months in, inside of a local cave system near Birmingham, Alabama. An area that I've visited only once and never again. I had never been to this cave or even any of the roads leading to it. A good 10 miles south of the cave is a bar situated on a county road,
Starting point is 00:43:01 pretty much in the sticks. This is the location that I went to in order to find something to eat. I imagined no one would be there due to the location, and I might have some chance at finding food that might be canned or wasn't already ruined. I get to it and search inside for a few minutes only to hear a truck approach outside. I'm scared and nearly crying. Up until this point, I'd only ever encountered a couple of people who never really wanted trouble. With a kick-in of the door, I knew that these people somehow knew I was there,
Starting point is 00:43:39 and they were coming to kill me. I hit as best I could inside of a cabinet inside the kitchen, until one of them found me and shot me before even saying a word. This was it. I was shot in the neck and almost immediately died. It was almost peaceful. I just kind of fell asleep, and after a few seconds I woke up. Upon waking up in my bed again, I lay there for almost an hour just staring at the ceiling. Everything in this dream was so real, and it happened, at least to me.
Starting point is 00:44:17 Upon searching up COVID and everything being how I remembered it, I almost wanted to cry, but couldn't. I was still in survival mode, and I needed to figure out the situation I was in. I look up the locations of the cave in the bar, and lo and behold, they exist. Looking at pictures from the bar being the most creepiest thing, ever, it was the exact same damn bar as in my dream. How can a bar that I've never once heard of or been to be the exact same inside and out? I almost want to drive out to the cave to see if it's the same as well, but it'd be a very long drive.
Starting point is 00:45:00 All of this makes little to no sense. And even if no one comments on this post or reads it in its entirety, I need it. to get it out. I feel as if I've lived another life for five months, and that this is now some facade, some twisted afterlife made to make me feel safe and comforted. I'm still struggling tonight with what I had to do to survive and all the energy that it took.
Starting point is 00:45:30 I can barely sleep. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Edit, I've taken a while to get back to how things are. and I wanted to explain a little more on how I'm feeling afterwards. The thing that freaks me out is I still have vivid memories of the whole thing. Nothing is fading away, and I'm still having trouble sleeping most nights. I don't know if things will ever really get back to how it was before, but I'm trying to think positively about the whole situation.
Starting point is 00:46:06 I see that others have said they've had similar experience, and that's frightening and soothing at the same time, if that makes sense. I've done more research on things like quantum immortality and things like that, and it looks interesting, but it's hard to find any real research or anything that can relate to this specific situation. All in all, thanks for the comments you guys have left. If anything, it made being back from that nightmare a little more, bearable. So this isn't too much of a big deal for me, but my friend who was there with me wouldn't shut up about it, so I thought I would make a post. Me and my friend are typical stoner bros
Starting point is 00:47:04 in college. Study a little, smoke a little fun times. But we're also very cautious and don't like breaking rules, so rather than smoking in our dorm rooms and getting in trouble, and we take a 10-minute walk outside and smoke underneath the bridge. There's a ramp on the side of the road. It goes all the way around and underneath the bridge where there's a river and, like, benches and stuff. It's never really that busy, and there's almost never anyone there when it's late. Like, it will see some people during the day, but literally no one at night.
Starting point is 00:47:43 So we're smoking and chatting away, and it's dead quiet, except for us. And my friend says, I thank God there's no one about this time, so we can smoke in peace. And I say, yeah, imagine if someone just appeared on a bike. And at that very second, a guy is probably about two feet away from us on his bike. We didn't hear him or his bike, we didn't see him. We were both certain that there was no one there, but as soon as I saw, said what I said, he was two feet away from us.
Starting point is 00:48:23 It was an Asian guy wearing a green parka on his bike, just staring at us and riding slowly. He didn't say anything or bother us. He just rode on, but he was staring at us. The glitch in the matrix elements to this story is that, despite not seeing him at all, I said imagine if a guy on a bike rode past. I didn't say walk or run or anything. I said bike, and he just appeared on a bike. He wasn't 10 feet away, he wasn't 5 feet away, no, he was 2 feet away from us.
Starting point is 00:49:16 I've experienced plenty of what I can only describe as glitches before, but this is so blatant that I really need to get it off my chest, in a place where it won't just be dismissed. I usually sleep in old t-shirts, and will often wear the same one for two to three nights in a row before exchanging it for a clean one. Last night when I was changing into my pajamas, I went to grab this red shirt from under my pillow.
Starting point is 00:49:48 It's where I keep my pajamas during the day, before I realized that I'd worn it for three nights already. I threw it in my hamper, and I went to grab a different t-shirt instead. In my drawer, I saw a t-shirt that I used to sleep in all the time. I worked at a summer camp a few years ago, and it's my old camp shirt that I tied-died and had gotten signed by all of my kids. It has a pretty cool design on it that stands out, so it's not easy to just ignore.
Starting point is 00:50:21 I accidentally left it at my boyfriend's place a few months ago, and just got it back this past weekend. So I hadn't worn it in ages, and I decided to sleep in that instead. I went out to my living room after changing, where my roommate commented that it had been a long time since she'd last seen me wearing that shirt. And we had an entire conversation about where it had been. This is how I know I didn't dream it.
Starting point is 00:50:52 I asked her this morning if we had talked about that, and she said that we did. When I woke up this morning, I didn't realize anything was off until I went to get changed. I opened the same drawer as the night before, and right there, perfectly folded was the camp shirt. I looked down and realized that I was wearing my red shirt again, the same one that I decided not to wear last night. I'm not sure what happened. and I definitely never changed out of the camp shirt and back in to the red one because once my clothes hit the dirty hamper, it feels gross to wear them again until they're washed. I've been trying to rationalize this, but I can't think of a single way how I would have just
Starting point is 00:51:40 changed in the middle of the night to put on a dirty shirt, and also neatly folded the new shirt and returned it to my drawer. Usually the things that happen to me can be explained away as maybe a dream, but I have another person verifying that I did not dream this. I honestly just feel sort of freaked out right now. This happened at the end of June 2016. I was going through a low point and I wasn't taking care of myself, living like I didn't care if I died.
Starting point is 00:52:27 A friend was trying to get me out more doing things, anything to distract me from my problems. My friend took me to a horror convention. I didn't like horror and still don't. But I went anyways, secretly hoping to meet a single Gothic curl or something. The week before, while watching the news, The Today Show, for clarity, they had an entire segment about the passing of Gene Wilder. I wasn't a fan or anything. I just thought his story was sad.
Starting point is 00:53:03 I saw things that I didn't know about him. When we went to the convention, the only living actor from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was there signing autographs. They had a huge billboard with the morbid fact that this kind old man was the sole surviving actor. I thought it was disrespectful
Starting point is 00:53:24 to Gene Wilder's recent passing, and all they did was talk about it. I didn't meet any single women there. It wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't exciting either. A month after, I was watching the Today's Show again before work, only to see that Gene Wilder had died again. I was like, what the hell? The Today's show is live, so they don't have reruns.
Starting point is 00:53:54 I check several other sources, and it was true that he had died again. Well, not again for the rest of the world. I instantly called my friend. I asked about the horror convention. Everything was the same, minus the whole sole survivor part. My friend insists that we never had a conversation about the morbid billboard, or the disrespectful nature of it.
Starting point is 00:54:22 Nor had the topic of Gene Wilder come up at all. I know that we did. It was the main topic of conversation for the entire convention for us. I asked him, well, what did we talk about then? My friend insists that we talked about Willy Wonka and a few other horror movies. And how I thought that horror movies were a product of lazy writing meant for people who aren't smart enough to understand science fiction. I don't remember that at all, but I totally agree with myself. I just wouldn't have said it so rudely.
Starting point is 00:55:02 I now, since then, quote that line that my other self-said. I thought it was a Mandela effect, but I checked around and no one else remembers Wilder dying that time and coming back. I did have a few close calls driving right after that convention, and other than that, I don't actually remember dying for quantum immortality to occur, but I suspect it to be the case. The final weird thing is, as I said, I wasn't a fan, nor had I cared about Gene Wilder, and I didn't watch the today's show of remembering Gene Wilder's segment the second time around.
Starting point is 00:55:44 So I did a bio-search of him checking my memory of the segment that I supposedly never saw, and I knew his real name and history accurately. So, I proved to myself that it happened for me twice. Long-time listener, first-time submitter. I lead a fairly normal life, and I've never really had anything too paranormal or unexplainable go on in my life, except for this one time.
Starting point is 00:56:25 Or, well, technically two times, but we'll get there. I will try to be as vivid as I can, but the details are a bit hazy because this was a pretty long time ago, specifically back in kindergarten. My kindergarten class had a fairly static daily schedule. We would come in, sit down on the carpet with the teacher, and we would use songs that we'd had burned into our skull to go over the days of the week and months of the year. Sometimes we would go over other basic stuff like counting or the outside, alphabet, but for the most part it was those two things, and then we would get the lesson for
Starting point is 00:57:05 the day. Those two things hardly took us maybe ten minutes of our three-hour class. My kindergarten was divided into morning and afternoon classes, and I was in the afternoon class. So, needless to say, it was hardly a time-consuming part of the day. The bus ride also wasn't particularly long. If I had to guess, I would say it was maybe ten. or 15 minutes. So, also, not a very time-consuming thing. The reason why I'm dwelling on that time
Starting point is 00:57:37 so much is that, well, my glitch has to do with it. One day, that as far as I could tell, went off without a hitch, like any other, had a sudden odd occurrence that has followed me my entire life. I got on the bus,
Starting point is 00:57:54 it brought me to school. We went in and started our days of the week refresher when suddenly, the teacher looked up at the clock and said, Oh, look at that, it's time to leave. Yeah, a point in time that, given basic math, couldn't have been much later than maybe noon. Was suddenly 3 p.m.
Starting point is 00:58:17 That's the weirdest part to me. It wasn't like I blinked and suddenly we were at the end of the lesson. The clock, just all of the sudden, happens to be at 3 p.m. at a moment that made no sense whatsoever. No one even seemed to notice it. The teacher was completely casual about it all, as if this was totally normal. None of the other students in my class looked confused,
Starting point is 00:58:43 and none of the older kids that we would ride the bus home with, including my sister, seemed to be saying anything. For all I could tell, time had just skipped three entire hours, and I was the only one who realized anything was wrong. Now, by itself, that would be a weird and mildly freaky story. But remember how I said I had technically two stories. And that's because this exact same thing happened again later in the school year. And I mean the exact same thing.
Starting point is 00:59:20 I got on the bus, it took me to school. We started our day and the same thing. the teacher randomly looked at the clock and said class was over. Nobody seemed to notice that anything was happening at all. I was now even more confused than I had been the first time, and yet, I have no memory of ever telling anyone, or asking them about it. I just sort of kept it to myself. I don't know, though.
Starting point is 00:59:47 Maybe I did tell someone and they just thought I was crazy or had a weird dream, but I know that this was not a dream. I've tried at multiple points in my life to rationalize it all, but nothing seems to make sense. At first, I thought maybe the bus ride had just taken longer than it needed to. But not only would anyone, even a five-year-old, notice when a 15-minute ride was taking three hours, but also anything that could have reasonably stopped it for that long, like a car wreck or blocking the road, would have also been noticed by me and the other kid's riding. The teacher could not have taken that long to get through our days and months,
Starting point is 01:00:29 because again, a five-year-old would notice when a ten-minute task would take three hours. The only other explanation that I can possibly come up with is that it was daylight savings. But that's only a one-hour jump, and it also happens at 2 a.m., not 12 p.m. The only explanation that really makes any sense to me is that, well, it was some kind of of glitch in the matrix. I don't know. Maybe there's some detail that I'm missing, but it really doesn't seem like there's anything else that would make sense.
Starting point is 01:01:05 But anyways, that's my story, and I hope that you enjoyed it. Hi. I've thought about sending this narrative in a few times. I've even gotten around to typing it out before deleting it. I guess the reason is that people will say, oh, that's explainable by such and such, but my experience is not, and I don't think it will ever be explained to my satisfaction. I live in a house, shared with two other guys. We all get along
Starting point is 01:01:48 and respect each other's space and work time. We all have to get to work at different times, and we evolved a way to share this single bathroom and kitchen space so that we don't get in each other's way. My routine during the week is pretty constant. Alexa wakes me up at 700, and I switch on the TV to check a couple of news stations. I check my analog wall clock and the times on the TV news, so I head to the bathroom at 715, shave and shower, and then dress and grab a coffee. I head out by 755 to get to public transport.
Starting point is 01:02:26 On this day, I was awoken at 0700 by Alexa as normal, and turned on the news to check the headlines. Everything was normal, as far as normal goes nowadays in this crazy world. At 7.15, as per the TV and wall clock, I headed to the bathroom and went inside. It was at that point that I realized that my shaver was on charge in my room. I walked back to my room and grabbed it, and then went to the bathroom, which was locked. My flatmate had taken my spot, and I was a little more than annoyed. I banged on the door, and he opened it.
Starting point is 01:03:08 He apologized, but said he thought that I had already gone, as it was already, 7.50. I protested, but went back to my room and said, Alexa, what's the time? But before she could even answer, I glanced at the walk-clock and saw that it was now 7.53. Then Alexa agreed. It was 7.53. Somehow, between leaving my room at 7.15, returning to get my shaver and walking back to the bathroom,
Starting point is 01:03:42 I had lost around 30-plus minutes. I hadn't stopped and hadn't been distracted by anything. I knew exactly where my shaver was. where I always charge it, and had not needed to search for it. It was a straight, walk in the door, turn right, pick-up, shaver, walk-out-of-door maneuver. And so, for the usual disclaimers, I don't use illegal drugs, don't drink during the work week, and I don't have any mental or physical problems. But is this a glitch?
Starting point is 01:04:16 I don't know, but it sure as hell is weird and none of the explanations that have been suggested by my flatmates or friends, seem to encompass my experience. I experience deja vu fairly regularly, and have my entire life. It's always the textbook experience of doing something, and then the feeling of having done it already. Nothing crazy other than the phenomenon itself. There's another one, or technically two, that stand apart and still puzzle me to this day.
Starting point is 01:05:02 I'm the creative and web director where I work, and I have two other guys in the office with me. I'm sitting at my desk working, and I get overwhelmed with that feeling of deja vu, except I'm hyper aware that what I'm feeling is about to happen, rather than has happened. I stand up, look at the other two guys, and say, The phone is about to ring, and Scott is going to come ask if I got it. As soon as I finished saying this, the phone rang. Their eyes get as big as anime characters, and their jaws dropped two floors below us. I picked the phone up, was asked to come downstairs for something, and then, right on cue,
Starting point is 01:05:48 Scott opens the door and asked if I got the call. My co-workers had a scared sense of excitement and asked what just happened. I explained that it was like deja vu, but somehow different. We talk about it for a little bit more, and then I head downstairs. I'm standing there, talking with our warehouse lead, Carter, and I get the same feeling. I tell him that the lights in the bathroom are about to go out on Keith, and he's going to yell like a girl. Again, as soon as I said it, it happened. Carter chuckled and asked what I did.
Starting point is 01:06:28 I tell him nothing. I just somehow knew that it was going to. happen. His face changed to a sour look and he just walked away saying, What the hell, bro? I've since been asked for winning lottery numbers at least a hundred times. It's never once been funny. And while I fully expected something I'll never be able to explain, I'm always going to wonder what allowed those wires to be crossed that day to show me things ahead of time. More so, why such insignificant things?
Starting point is 01:07:04 It hasn't happened since, but as weird as it felt, I hope that it does. I lived in Rhode Island all my life, and had been to Newport many times, especially the Newport creamery that is now the Panera Bread Plaza. One day, in the summer of 1995, my lifelong friend, Kenny asked me if I wanted to take a ride to Newport, as he had a dental appointment. I said, sure, we'll get lunch when you get out of there, and I waited in the car during his appointment. When he got out, we drove into downtown Newport, and I parked my car in a familiar spot that I knew, behind two of Newport's best nightclubs. We walked down the famous America's Cup Avenue to Thames Street.
Starting point is 01:08:09 That day ESPN was in Newport telecasting either the extreme or gravity games. I saw the ESPN sign. Because of the big event, they had a ferris wheel and other makeshift activities. I remember looking up at the top of the Ferris wheel, and I remember seeing 100% dark gray overcasts. sky, as it was all morning. Walking down Thames Street, we took a right at the Shell gas station onto Wellington Avenue. As we turned, I said to Kenny, weird, I just felt like I just jumped up and down.
Starting point is 01:08:51 As we turned onto Wellington Avenue, I see a wall slant downward, and the slant got lower as I walked. When it got low enough for me to see over it, I could see the ocean in all of the boats near the wall. I saw these little wooden stands selling souvenirs, with a wooden floor as a pathway. I could see that the merchandise stands could close by pulling down the front covers, and they had holes at the top and the bottom where a padlock could be inserted. All of a sudden, I see the sun emerge, a huge burst of sunshunds. shine hit me, and I said to myself, wow, the sun came out fast. We walked into a business district that I'd never seen before, loaded with shoppers.
Starting point is 01:09:41 Very busy, a two-way street. I can still recall a bus stop. I walked by some restaurants and looked at their menu on the outside wall, and they were way too expensive for the lunch we were looking for that day. So we kept on walking, and I saw a Newport Creamery. I said, wow, I've never seen this one before. So we went in and ate there. As I sat and ate, the register was to my left, and I looked out of the glass wall.
Starting point is 01:10:14 I had a view of the ocean. I was watching people play frisbee and walk their dogs on the grass, where there was a bandstand slash gazebo. The sun was still bright. not a cloud in the sky. The business district was so alive and so amazing. I couldn't wait to tell my wife. We walked back to the car the same way that we arrived.
Starting point is 01:10:39 To the best of my knowledge, I believe it was overcast when driving back home. When I picked up my wife from work, I told her, wait until you see where I'm taking you Saturday night. That Saturday, my wife and I went to Newport, this time driving, I turned down America's Cup Avenue to Thames Street and took a right at the Shell Station. But I didn't see the slanted wall, just a ball field and an apartment building.
Starting point is 01:11:10 So I turned back and drove around for half an hour and gave up. I tried to take my wife to this business district in Newport twice more that summer, and from 1996 to 1999. In 1999, I walked every streetside and road off America's Cup Avenue in Thame Street, about three hours. I found nothing. I bought my first computer in 2000, and I did a web search for Newport Creamery, Newport, Rhode Island. There were two listed, the one I know so well at the now Panera Bread, and the one on Bellevue Avenue. I said to myself, there's the answer.
Starting point is 01:11:55 We went to the one on Bellevue Avenue. That conclusion was satisfactory for over a decade. In 2012, I discovered Google Street View and looked up the Bellevue Avenue location, and this was not the restaurant that Kenny and I had been to in 1995. There was no Ocean View, no shopping district. I thought maybe Google Street View didn't pick up. up the right angles. I went to the Bellevue Avenue Newport Creamery in 2012. I even walked behind the Newport Creamery. It was in a little plaza on Bellevue Avenue. There was no ocean view,
Starting point is 01:12:37 no shopping district, no slanted wall, no bandstand or gazebo. I finally spoke with Kenny about it. Kenny said to me that area was also unfamiliar to him as well, that there was some something strange about that day. My curiosity exploded in 2016. I began to ask longtime business owners in Newport about the 1995 location. But no one knew about this Newport Creamery. I phoned the Newport City Clerk's office, and they confirmed to me that there had never been another Newport Creamery
Starting point is 01:13:15 other than those two registered in the town of Newport, Rhode Island. and they've never moved from another location. I told a co-worker of mine this story. He worked with engineering maps, and he said to me that he was familiar with Newport. I described my situation the best that I could, the slanted wall, the boats, the ocean. He said, I think I know where you're talking about.
Starting point is 01:13:44 He pulled it right up on the maps, and I can see the satellite view. I said, oh my God, that's it. But it was deserted across from the ocean. There was no business districts, no wooden stands selling souvenirs, but there is room there for it, about 100 yards of grass and vegetation in front of some elevated houses. In other words, the area across from the ocean is undeveloped land.
Starting point is 01:14:15 I took my wife there and she had seen what I described to her, all those years. The slanted wall, the ocean, the boats, the grass in front of the bandstand slash gazebo, the two-way street, I stood on the exact spot where I ate
Starting point is 01:14:32 my lunch in 1995, looking across at the bandstand from a now vacant side of the avenue, where no restaurant had ever been. The many times I tried to go their
Starting point is 01:14:48 with my wife, I saw the ball field and the apartment complex on the right when I was expecting to see the wall in the ocean on my left. So, when I saw the ball field in the apartment complex, I kept turning around. Had I kept on going, I would have seen the wall in the ocean on my right. In other words, I was turning on the right road the many times that I tried to take my wife there by taking a right at the Shell Station. What happened that day is when Kenny and I turned to walk on Wellington Avenue, we entered it from the opposite side of the avenue. So the wall and the ocean were to the left of where Kenny and I were walking.
Starting point is 01:15:33 We entered a vortex where we were slung, shot around the other side of Wellington Avenue. And I'll take multiple lie detector tests, and I assure you that I will pass every one. I swear on my soul that this really happened. I work at a financial institution, and as part of my role, I coordinate training for all the new hires within the first few weeks of their onboarding. The process begins when local managers send me the names and contact details of the new hires, so I can reach out to them for a brief introduction and set the expectations of the training material. Prior to the start of the pandemic, I would simply reach out to the new hire at their new office phone number. However, with new work from home changes, I would now reach out to mobile numbers and residential phone numbers.
Starting point is 01:16:42 All in all, a very similar process to what I was doing before, just with the caveat of having to reach out to people at home. As per usual, I receive a new spreadsheet with the name. and info of the new hires that I needed to contact when I came across a quite unique name. I picked up my headset and dialed the number provided. Conversation goes like this. New hire. Hello, this is unique name. Me?
Starting point is 01:17:16 Hey, good morning. This is my name. Calling from the financial institution. Did I catch you at a good time? New hire. Yeah, this is good. Great. However, could you please call me at my landline? My mobile service isn't very reliable at this area.
Starting point is 01:17:33 I wrote down the phone number she provided, and we hung up. Immediately, I dialed the phone number and waited for it to ring. One ring, two rings, three rings. Older woman answers, hello? Me. Hi, good morning. My name is my name. and I'm looking for unique name.
Starting point is 01:17:58 Can I speak to her? Older woman. I'm sorry, who are you? Me. I'm my name, calling from financial institution. She asked me to call her back on this line. Is she available? Silence.
Starting point is 01:18:14 Hello? Older woman. What do you mean she asked you to call her back? When? Me. Um, I was just talking to her and she was just talking to her and she was. She said reception in her area wasn't very reliable, and to please call her back at this number. Older woman.
Starting point is 01:18:33 I'm sorry, but that's impossible. The name of the new hire died three days ago. Me. Is this telephone number provided by the new hire? Older woman. Yeah, that's correct. Me. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:18:52 I may have written down the number incorrectly. I apologize for this inconvenience, and I'm very sorry about your loss. I hung up, and I was lost for words. I somehow managed to write down the wrong phone number and reached a residence with a recently deceased person who had the same unique name. I'm certain I wrote down the correct number, but it is possible that the poor connection made me write a different number. I don't know what to think.
Starting point is 01:19:22 Maybe this is an odd coincidence. Edit, I reached back out to the new hire's mobile number, and I asked her to share the phone number again, and confirmed that the number I dialed was correct. I was certain that she would give me a different number where the digits were flipped, and it might have just been a small dyslexia moment. I'm not so sure I was pranked by a family member, but it is possible that maybe a senior resident with the mental disability might have answered and given me that info. Regardless, I didn't question the new hire, as it is none of my business if the other residents live there and have access to the phone line. The next call I made back out to her landline, the new hire picked up. A few years ago, I lived in a cul-de-sac in a small, safe suburb, the kind where you're passively friendly with your neighbors. Across from my house was a little red house where lived a man in his late 30s.
Starting point is 01:20:35 Ron, his wife and their two young children. Our children would play together in the street. We would exchange favors and Christmas cards, etc. And so our families were somewhat close. In the Blue House beside them lived Ron's parents, which I always thought was nice that they could see each other often. One early summer evening, while still fully light out, the weather was nice, so I was out on my front porch to relax for a moment.
Starting point is 01:21:10 I see Ron walking out of his parents' blue house, telling them goodbye. He's carrying a gallon of milk in his left hand. No back, just the milk. I thought, how convenient that he can borrow milk from his parents next door instead of having to just go buy it. I didn't call out to him as I figured he was busy. He walked into his little red house and shut the door. Maybe a minute later, Ron's car pulls up into the driveway.
Starting point is 01:21:43 I thought nothing of it until, to my surprise, Ron himself gets out of the car. In his left hand, he's holding a yellow plastic grocery bag that I recognize as being from the corner store up the block. The bag is transparent so I can see inside. A gallon of milk. Being confused, I again decided not to call out to him. He again walked into his little red house and shut the door behind him. I imagine at home his wife had asked him to go get milk and through some strange glitch. He did. Twice.
Starting point is 01:22:26 In two different ways. I wonder if that evening his wife found two-gallon. of milk in the kitchen. Hey, Raven, this just happened to me earlier today, March 28, 2023. I was visiting a store that I visit around three to four times a week easily, sometimes more. As you can imagine, I've come to know most of the staff there pretty well, as I am such a regular. Anyway, I was standing at the checkout, closest one to the exit, and the same checkout that I always go to as they normally only have one, this one, that is manned at a time unless it's super busy.
Starting point is 01:23:17 This typically doesn't occur during the times that I normally visit, because I often go in just before closing time, as that is what my work schedule allows. Anyways, since COVID, as I'm sure most stores and checkouts in the world have, they have those big plastic screens in the fronts to help with social distancing. I barely noticed them anymore, but two days ago I visited the store, same checkout, and one of the staff members I deal with a lot was trying to get some mark off of the plastic screen in front of her. We exchanged pleasantries, and I noticed what she was doing, so just casually said something in
Starting point is 01:24:00 passing like, oh, you poor thing, what is that? She laughed and said that she didn't know, and then joked about how to her. she's in need freak and how it's been bothering her all day. So she was trying to get it off now that it was homeless closing time and had slowed down. We had another chuckle, talked a few minutes more, completed the transaction and I was on my way. I didn't think anything of it, until today when I went to the same checkout out of habit, and something looked a bit different. I didn't even realize right away that it was the screen, but something looked like it was missing, and the cashier, another kid that I know well, was standing in between this checkout
Starting point is 01:24:43 and the other one behind him. So, I thought maybe some computer or something is broken on this one, and instinctively started heading towards the next checkout for him to assist me there. He waved me back over to the first one, which is the one that we usually use, and we exchanged pleasantries as normal. I was looking around, trying to figure out what was different, and it finally hit me that the screen was no longer there. So, I was like, oh, didn't there used to be a screen here? He laughed and said, yes, there was one, but a customer punched it in. I was like, oh my God, that's insane.
Starting point is 01:25:27 Why? He said something like, oh, he wasn't too happy about something, I guess. And I just said, oh, wow, I hope everyone's okay. better he punched the screen than the employee, though, I guess. He then went on to say, Yeah, that's true. I wasn't there when it happened, but, oh, I heard about it. We went on to talk a bit more about safety protocol and how people can be crazy and stuff,
Starting point is 01:25:54 and then go on with our transaction. And I say, well, I hope they fix it soon if it'll keep you guys safer. At which point he says, yeah, well, I don't know. They just never fixed it, I guess. This happened back somewhere in January, and we're still waiting, so... At this point, I was just like... Wait, what? So, not like in the last two days or something?
Starting point is 01:26:21 He said, no, it's been like this for almost two months now. I just sort of froze, because I remembered my interaction with the other employee two days ago while she was trying to clean the screen. and today that checkout legit looked so different without the screen that my instinct was to assume that something was broken and to go to the next checkout before I even noticed what was missing.
Starting point is 01:26:49 So it is definitely the first time I'm seeing it like that in at least three to four years since COVID happened, and they were first installed. And I know that I didn't just imagine that whole interaction with the other employee It was definitely there two days ago. Like, it's such a random and mundane thing to draw your attention to start with, and I wouldn't have even noticed it probably if she hadn't been trying to clean it two days ago when that conversation took place.
Starting point is 01:27:20 I know most of these people on a first-name basis. I know that it's such a weird and small thing, but it's bothering me so much that I thought I would share it here. I'll preface this by saying, that it could have happened because I was working overnight, and it kind of messes up your system to live during the night, but I was getting plenty of sleep, and I definitely wasn't tired enough to experience visual hallucinations.
Starting point is 01:28:00 During my second year of college, I picked up an overnight job at Walmart because I needed money, and I really enjoyed not having a lot of time to myself. It kept my mind occupied. Now, my ride to work was about 30 minutes, and almost completely on a highway with not many exits, just a long, straight road. One morning, at around 7 a.m., right when my shift finished, I got on the highway to get back home. Now, during the week, the highway is full. It's kind of a pain, really. So many people, so much traffic, and the 30-minute ride turns into an hour long.
Starting point is 01:28:44 long one. This happened during the weekend, though, so you can guess that there was not a huge amount of circulation at 7 o'clock on a Sunday. At first, I was alone on my side of the highway, until I noticed a car merging into it. I kind of just noted that it was there for safety. You never know how people are going to behave on the road. Then, the car approached mine, and at one point, I was in the left lane and it was in the right lane, side to side. I could see inside the car and who was driving. Everything seemed normal. It was a mid-20s man on the wheel with three other people in the car, one riding shotgun and the two others in the back. I didn't like having the car right next to me, so I just sped up a little, and the car was right behind me on the right lane. Now, keep in mind,
Starting point is 01:29:43 there were no exits until mine in a couple of kilometers. I had just seen the car. I had just passed it. But suddenly, it was gone. Like, gone, gone. No trace of the car. It wasn't parked on the side of the highway.
Starting point is 01:30:01 I checked. The road is very flat, and you can see pretty far ahead and behind you. And it was just gone. Needless to say, I got my back end home as fast as I I could and proceeded to tell the story to everyone. They didn't believe me, but it was quite the scary experience.
Starting point is 01:30:32 Hi, Raven. My husband and I are big fans of your channel and often listen to your stories in the car. I have a glitch story from January of 2020. My husband's older brother died suddenly and we made the two-hour drive to their hometown in northwest Pennsylvania for the colony. hours. I usually drive, but it was dark, rainy, and he knew the way much better, so he did the driving this time. We got into town a little early, so we drove down the road past the funeral home to kill some time. He wanted to see which places from his youth were still in business.
Starting point is 01:31:15 It wasn't too long before it got to be time to turn around and make our way to meet back up with his family members. He was driving and I was scrolling on my phone mindlessly when something made me look up. At that moment, my husband exclaimed, what? And suddenly, a dark SUV with no driver and a smashed front end came driving across the road perpendicular to us across four lanes of traffic right in front of us. Literally a split second later it would have hit us. I saw as it crossed the road and drove up onto a curb, into a field or yard, and then it sort of disappeared.
Starting point is 01:31:59 We were shaken up, and could not figure out how it had crossed in front like that, or where it had come from. There was no crashing sound. It was like it materialized in front of us and then just drifted into oblivion. No other vehicles seemed to have been affected or even noticed. At the funeral home, we waited to hear sirens but heard nothing. We asked his nephew who had also come that way, if he'd passed an accident and he said no. There was nothing. For days afterwards, my husband checked the local news for Erie, and there was no mention of this seemingly awful crash on a main throughfare.
Starting point is 01:32:42 We have no idea how this happened. How did the car get hit from the front? Why was there no driver? And why did nobody else seem to see this? We still talk about it to this day. I've experienced many glitches in this one is one of the more mysterious. About three months ago, I went to pick up Chinese food at a place that my husband and I go very often. I paid using my debit card and then stopped at the same gas station I always do on my way home
Starting point is 01:33:24 to throw $20 into the tank. When I went inside, I didn't recognize the clerk, but didn't think about this until later. I only really noticed that it wasn't one of the same five employees that I always talked to, because of the weird interaction that I'd had. I went to pay with the same debit card, and it declined. Weird, there wasn't a funding problem.
Starting point is 01:33:50 I went to check my phone to see if my bank had texted me about the charges for some reason, only to find that instead of having service, my phone displayed the SOS where 5G usually would be. I've never had that happen before. Very confused, I tried to use one of my credit cards, issued from a different bank, declined. Now embarrassed, I found some cash and told the cashier what pump that I was on. There was no one else at the gas station, and I walked back to my car, pulled out the pump, and tried to start pumping gas. To no avail. The pump wasn't clearing from the previous transaction. My phone was still saying SOS, and the hairs in the back of my neck started sticking up. The street around the gas station,
Starting point is 01:34:43 which should have been somewhat busy for a Saturday evening, was completely dead. I was utterly confused and felt disoriented. After pressing all three types of gas and the clear button several times, I went back inside and asked the clerk if there was something wrong with the pump. They looked at me as if they had never seen or spoken to me and asked which pump I was on. On the second trip, I was able to get it to work, but drove away with the strangest feeling.
Starting point is 01:35:16 My phone only started working when I got back to my house, and there has never been any problems with my cell service or bank cards since. I know that it seems really mundane, but I cannot shake the feeling that I left reality or left this timeline for 30 minutes. So this happened in the early 2000s. It went on over a few years. The incidents varied, but two particular events stand out in my mind. The first one, I was going to the grocery store to pick up a few things that I needed, milk, bread, and some frozen vegetables.
Starting point is 01:36:06 I put my groceries on the counter to pay, and the cashier said, Well, hello again, forgot a few things, huh? I was confused, as it was the only time I had been in the store. Uh, no, this is all I need, I said. You were here just a few seconds ago, she said, so I thought you must have forgot to get these. I laughed because it was such a weird thing to say. No, I wasn't here before now, I said, but then I became curious. There had been several times over the years that people had come up to me like they knew me, and said hello,
Starting point is 01:36:44 people that I had never seen before. I always thought that it was just someone who looked similar and passed it off. This time was different, though. The other me had left seconds before I arrived. I asked, Did the other lady look a lot like me? She looked exactly like you, the cashier said. Same clothes, hair, eyes.
Starting point is 01:37:08 Her voice trailed off and she looked at me strangely. Are you sure you didn't forget something and come back? I again told her no, laughed a bit and grabbed my bags. Later that week, me and a friend decided to spend the day going to yard sales in different neighborhoods. It was hot out, and there was hot out. wasn't much else to do. People sold their old stuff at a good price, and we could sometimes find great deals. We decided to venture off to some nicer areas.
Starting point is 01:37:38 The people in these areas tend to sell nicer items than average. So, we drove far away from our neighborhood to a newer neighborhood that neither of us had been to before. It had big houses, and we soon found someone with a sign up for a yard sale. There's one, I told my friend, and we stopped to. at in front of the house. The plastic sign sticking out of the grass indicated that the yard sale was in the backyard. So we opened the back gate and went into the yard.
Starting point is 01:38:08 My friend went first and quickly found something at the other end of the yard that caught her eye. I dallyed slowly looking at the things closer to the gate. The homeowner was at a small table in the middle of the yard. She seemed to be staring at me a lot, and it was making me uncomfortable. I ignored it and continued to look at a white bathroom sink that was in great condition. I was thinking of redoing my basement bathroom and tried to gauge whether this sink would fit into the counter.
Starting point is 01:38:40 The lady having the sale came up and said, Well, hello, so did you decide you wanted it after all? I looked at her not understanding. Well, I just saw it and was thinking it might fit into my bathroom. You came back, though, she said. You said you were thinking about it before, so I thought you must have decided to take it. I was stunned. This was happening again?
Starting point is 01:39:06 I actually just got here. I wasn't here before, I said. She looked bewildered. You were here about half an hour ago, she said. You were looking at that sink, just like you are now. We talked and you said that you wanted to think about it. She frowned and said, it was you.
Starting point is 01:39:28 You had the same clothes on? And then her voice trailed off. Hmm. I said, no, I just came with my friend over there, pointing at my friend. Was I alone the first time? Yeah, you were, she said. I just shook my head and mumbled. It must be someone that looked like me.
Starting point is 01:39:50 I then grabbed my friend and said, let's go. I felt creeped out. I just wanted to process what had just happened. I told my friend about the other me, and she and I could not figure it out. It's strange to have someone that looks so much like you, but it is beyond strange when that person goes exactly where you do just before you get there, and that person is wearing the same clothes.
Starting point is 01:40:18 What does it mean? Well, I have no idea, but apparently there is another me out there. A few weeks ago, I was walking to the store, lost in thought, and enjoying the sunny afternoon. When I got to a crosswalk and had to pause so that I could cross. The light changed to cross. I looked up to walk and was genuinely surprised when I saw a person walking toward me that looked eerily familiar. It was me. Or at least someone that looked just like me.
Starting point is 01:41:01 They had the same clothes, hairstyle. and they even kind of held themselves the same way as me when they walked. It was kind of like I was standing there and staring at a living mirror. I was shocked, obviously, as I watched my doppelganger approach me. My heart was racing as fast as my mind was, this was kind of surreal. Like, I know that there's only so many ways a person can look, but this person was a spitting image of me. as they walked past me, I waved at them.
Starting point is 01:41:36 They just kind of glanced up at me and smiled, like they wanted to acknowledge that I was there, but not really give me the time of day. At first, I just accepted that they were going the opposite direction of me, but then I decided that, at the risk of being a creep, I was going to follow them, and at least introduce myself. Maybe this was just some random person,
Starting point is 01:42:01 that looked just like me and we could be best friends or something. I really don't know what I was thinking, or if I was even thinking, but I genuinely felt compelled to go say hi. They were walking at a good pace, and I didn't want to be an absolute creep, so I stuck back a little ways. They entered a small store just ahead of me, and when I got to it and entered, I fully expected to just see them near the front of the store.
Starting point is 01:42:31 But they were gone. It wasn't exactly a large store. It was a small convenience store with a few aisles, and I'm sure that I looked crazy walking around the aisles looking for a person that seemingly didn't exist. There was absolutely no sign of my doppelganger. It was as if they seriously just completely vanished, into thin air. Confused and a bit rattled,
Starting point is 01:42:59 I walked up to the front and asked the clerk if they saw someone that entered just before I did that looked like me. And he told me that no one had been in the store for a while before I got there. So not only had they disappeared for me, the clerk didn't see anyone even enter. And he said hello to me when I walked in, so he seemed to be an attentive person. How could this person, a person that looked like they could be my... identical twin simply disappear. Was it a glitch in the Matrix or just a coincidence?
Starting point is 01:43:37 I'm serious when I say that this person was like a mirror. We had the same jacket, same hair color, and face. Literally everything was the same. I've spent way too many hours of my life trying to make sense of this encounter, but I'm still no closer to understanding what happened. To this day, the memory of that strange encounter seriously haunts me. I can't help but wonder if I'll ever meet my doppelganger again,
Starting point is 01:44:05 or if they're out there somewhere, living a life that's parallel to mine. I have a terrifying and weird story that happened to me about a month ago that I would like to share and see if anyone has any insight into what exactly it was. In my opinion, it felt like some kind of premonition, or like I was peering into an alternate timeline. but honestly I'm not sure.
Starting point is 01:44:42 This was about a month ago, so in February, it was a Saturday, and I was driving to my sister's house for my nephew's birthday party. She lives about an hour away in a part of the state that's a bit less urban and more suburban. It's a bit of a pain to get there from here, but obviously I do it for them because they're family. There is one section of the drive
Starting point is 01:45:08 that has a highway-like road, the speed limits are close to highway level, but there's a section where the road merges into another road, and because of this there's a stoplight. I hate this light, because you can be going 55 to 60, and then have to stop quickly because the light isn't fully visible from a ways back. And they have yet to install one of those blinking,
Starting point is 01:45:34 be prepared to stop signs on this merger yet. Anyways, I was pulling up to the light, and it turned yellow, so I quickly came to a stop and waited. While I sat there, I looked over and saw a bird of some sort. I don't remember what kind, I just remember that I saw it, and it made me smile. But that's around when things got really weird. That smile was the last action I remember being able to control, which I know sounds really weird, Here's how it went. I smiled at the bird, which was normal, and then the light turned green.
Starting point is 01:46:14 I swear my body went into a weird autopilot mode. My foot switched over to the gas pedal, and I gripped the steering wheel, but it was like I wasn't doing it. I was just sitting there, staring forward, smiling, and thinking about the bird. It was as if my body was doing the motions for me. If I had to put a word to it, it was like the feeling you get when you're under sleep paralysis, aware that things are happening, but unable to break free to do anything about it.
Starting point is 01:46:48 Like, I was just thinking in my mind that I couldn't move, but my body was moving. Then, it got worse. I was sitting there thinking, why can't I move? Well, my body was driving the car for me, and then I noticed that the car was drifting to the right, which was in the direction of a guardrail at best, a bunch of trees
Starting point is 01:47:11 in a small ravine at worst. I knew that this was happening, but I was still just smiling and gripping the wheel, unable to do anything about it. I kept drifting and drifting until my car went past the guardrail and got air as it fell straight into the ravine. At the exact moment that the car would have smashed into the trees, I was able to to consciously close my eyes. When I opened them back up,
Starting point is 01:47:39 I was sitting at the red light waiting for it to turn green, and smiling at the bird. At this point, however, I had full control of my body and was fully aware of the whole situation. I shook my head a bit, rubbed my eyes,
Starting point is 01:47:57 took a drink of water, and just kind of tried to piece together what that was. So, I guess that leaves me with the question. What the hell was that? Was this some kind of peek into an alternate timeline? Like, did I witness something happened to a me in a different reality? Was this some sort of premonition? Or some kind of waking dream or something?
Starting point is 01:48:22 I will say that I am a healthy individual, and I've been checked for numerous things, and so far nothing major, so I don't think it's an illness or disease that's messing with my brain. Plus, this was the only thing to ever happen. So I really don't think it's me, but what it is, I genuinely have no idea. Last night, my twin and I went to our favorite taco place. She ate her entire dinner on the way back to my place, and I saved mine until I got home. When I got there, I asked the gal if she could give me some green sauce.
Starting point is 01:49:11 She asked me if I wanted the one with seeds or without, and I told her I wanted both. She handed me a small white bag with one small cup of both types, right? We get back to the house, and my twin goes to hang out in my room to video chat some friends, whilst I'm in the living room, working and eating my pork belly tacos. I put the two green sauce and the pinwheels they gave me to the side. I ate two tacos with no sauce and wrapped up the third, for later. My twin sister eventually has to leave, and she does.
Starting point is 01:49:47 At no point does she come anywhere near my food. My workday progresses, and I decide that I want to eat those pinwheels. They're kind of like chips, I guess. I open the bag and I grab the green sauce without seeds and eat the entire bag of pinwheels with the seedless sauce. And then I throw the bag, the empty sauce cup, and the lid, away. A few hours after that, I would even eat the third taco that I got. I never touched the spicier, seedy sauce, even though I love green sauce.
Starting point is 01:50:24 I was just looking for the mild sauce from my pinwheels, right? Well, I left the other sauce on my desk last night, thinking I'll find something to use it for for tomorrow, so that it doesn't go to waste. This morning, I was waking up. I leaned over to get something off of my desk, and I touched something wet. The totally closed sauce that was on my desk all night, literally millimeters from where I sleep alone in my own home, somehow no longer has a lid. The woman gave it to me with a lid.
Starting point is 01:51:03 I brought it home with a lid. I removed it from the bag, with a lid. When I went to sleep with a mere five hours before I woke up, it had a lid on it. So, uh, where's the lid? This happened in December of 2021, when I was visiting my parents for Christmas in Paris. I traveled from North Carolina, so there's like a six-hour time difference. My parents and I were staying in an old hotel for one night. in a town that I don't remember the name of.
Starting point is 01:51:51 It was very, very small. Just two beds and a bathroom. In the middle of the night, I woke up to the sound of my name being whispered over and over again. It was my nickname. Think like John from Jonathan, not my real name. And my boyfriend is the one who calls me by it the most. At the time, I was laying on my side facing the wall with my back to my
Starting point is 01:52:18 parents' bed. I opened my eyes and at first dismissed it, to be the sound of my parents' breathing, or a dream that I might have come out of. But I kept hearing it, like it never stopped, even after I was fully awake. So I jumped up, and I looked over my shoulder and it stopped. I just saw my parents sleeping and I could hear them breathing, which did not sound like the whispers that I heard. Crieped out, I just laid back down and tried to ignore what had happened. Five seconds later, my phone that is charging on the small desk at the wall adjacent to the bed starts ringing very loudly. And now that I think about it, I always put my ringer on silent. I get a crap ton of notifications and I think that's weird that I didn't hear anything other than this call.
Starting point is 01:53:13 But anyways, I see it's my boyfriend calling me, and I was kind of annoyed because he knows about the time difference, but I answered it in case it was an emergency. Long story short, he said that he was returning my calls. He received two FaceTime calls from me about a minute prior, but couldn't answer since he was showing his friend something on his phone. I checked my outgoing calls, and sure enough, I had tried FaceTiming him twice. It still gives me chills, and neither my boyfriend nor I have an explanation for it. At the same moment that I woke up hearing my nickname being whispered, my boyfriend was getting FaceTime calls from me. I wonder what he would have seen if he had answered. This is so weird because it has now happened twice, in two,
Starting point is 01:54:19 different cars. I purchased nail polish, along with a few other items, and put them in the back seat of my car. No bag. When I got home, I emptied the car. A few days later, I could not find the nail polish, so I assumed that I forgot it in the car. I go to the car and specifically check the back seat. Nothing there. I then thought maybe I left it on the counter at the store. Then, two days later, I get in my car and look in the back seat. Lo and behold, my nail polish is right there in plain sight. There's no way that I would have overlooked it when I specifically looked for it in the exact same location.
Starting point is 01:55:03 Months later, I find my house key. I usually get into my house via the garage door opener. When I was helping my dad move, I was using his car, so I put my house key on a single key chain so that I could have access to my house. without the garage door opener. I used my dad's car for a month, using this key daily. Then I gave the car back to my dad. I got home in my car, and I used the garage to get in.
Starting point is 01:55:34 That's when I realized I left my house key in his car. I go back and search his car for my key, and it's nowhere. I look in the cup holders, glove box, under the seats, everywhere. My husband then searched the car. whole car as well. It just wasn't there. For the past year, I have been driving my dad's car weekly to take him places. He no longer drives, but he keeps his car so that I can drive him around, because his walker doesn't fit in my car. A year later, there is my house key, right on the floor mat of the driver's side seat, plain as day, not hidden or under the mat, just right there
Starting point is 01:56:17 as if it had been there all year long. I'm a male in my early 60s, and the following occurrence happened about 20 years ago on a semi-rural road in northeast Ohio, about five miles northeast of the Akron-Kanton Airport. My wife and I were taking a casual Sunday afternoon ride on the Harleys when we turned onto a one-and-a-half-mile long stretch of road, heading north away from the airport.
Starting point is 01:56:58 I happened to glance up to my left, and I noticed a commercial jet airplane, which would have been passing by heading southwest towards the airport in a descending slope. It was fairly close to us, and it would have been about as big as your pinky finger held out at arm's length. I didn't notice right away, but as we proceeded to pass by this plane,
Starting point is 01:57:24 It slowly became apparent that it was not moving as a normal plane should. In fact, it appeared to be standing still in mid-air. I yelled at my wife to check that plane out, and we pulled over to a stop since there were no other cars on the road. That plane hung right where it was the entire time that we sat there, for two to three minutes. My very tech-challenged wife seemed to think that, planes do that sort of thing all the time.
Starting point is 01:57:57 Not in my universe, they don't. I did some poking around the internet, and I found a few videos that people have of the same thing happening to them. I have never forgotten my experience with a glitch in the Matrix. This happened 12 years ago when I was 19 years old. I lived with my then-boyfriend and his parents. The house used to belong to musicians before they bought it, so they had added this large bonus room near the kitchen for use for band practice.
Starting point is 01:58:41 This room was turned into our bedroom. The rest of the bedrooms were down the hall on the other side of the house. Well, one day my boyfriend and I had just pulled in to realize his parents weren't home. My boyfriend went to our bedroom and I went down the hall to the bathroom to touch up my makeup. since this was all I was doing in there I decided to leave the door wide open as I was doing my makeup I saw my boyfriend shirtless
Starting point is 01:59:10 walked down the hallway in my peripheral vision curious as to why I looked down the hall but he wasn't there in fact the doors down the hall were closed and I didn't hear them open or close so I went and opened his parents bedroom door to see that it's dark and no one was there.
Starting point is 01:59:31 Then I opened the guest bedroom door, and it was also dark with nobody in there. At this point, I was creeped out. I know what I had just seen. So I went up the hall through the living room and kitchen to our bedroom to find my boyfriend in there, and he was wearing his shirt. I asked him if he had went down the hall just a minute ago, and he told me no, and that he'd been in our bedroom the entire time. So, did I see a ghost?
Starting point is 02:00:04 Or did my boyfriend from another reality glitch into our hallway and then glitch back? I don't necessarily believe in this whole concept of glitch in the Matrix, but I have no explanation for this. It freaked me out so much that it's burned into my brain. It was between six to twelve months ago. I was standing at the dining room table at my boyfriend's place, fixing myself this medical thing I have to drink. It's over-the-counter, but I'm not one to share it because it literally tastes like dirt, and it's expensive. Boyfriend was about five feet away, fiddling with these portable lights for his photography hobby.
Starting point is 02:01:00 I was standing there watching him while I measured and stirred my drink. It suddenly occurred to me that he would find it impressively stinky, so I held it out to him and said, Here, smell this. We walked the couple of steps towards each other and met in the middle. I held the glass under his nose to smell, and he took a whiff, and then recoiled predictably. He exclaimed at how gross it was, I giggled and chugged it, and he went back to his lights. I continued to stand and watch him with his equipment for another 10 to 20 minutes, just keeping him company. We chatted about random things, and then he started to complain about the taste in his mouth.
Starting point is 02:01:46 I didn't know what he was talking about. He told me, from that drink. I stared at him in confusion. He looked at me like I was slow. That drink, your medical drink? I'm like, yeah, what about it? Feeling hella confused at this point, because how can you have a taste left over in your mouth from smelling something? Like, 20 minutes later.
Starting point is 02:02:15 I suppose it's possible, but that seems a bit extreme, and it's not like the drink was made in the bowels of hell or something. He says very slowly like he's just as confused as I am. I still have a bad taste in my mouth left over from when you made me try your drink. I tell him, I didn't make you try my drink, I only made you smell it. I don't know what you're talking about, you never tasted it. Now we're both looking at each other like the other person has grown an extra head. And he says, yes, you did. You made me try it.
Starting point is 02:02:53 I took a drink and it was so bad that I had to go to the kitchen and rinse my mouth out to get rid of the taste, and it's still there. And I tell him, no, I never even handed you the glass. I just held it under your nose for you to smell it. And, since he is hyperlogical and couldn't explain it, he stared for a moment, said, weird, and then went back to working on his lights. Meanwhile, half a year later, I am still bothered by it. At first, I considered the possibility that he misremembered drinking it
Starting point is 02:03:32 simply because the scent stuck around with him for so long, but that doesn't explain his memory of going to the kitchen to rinse out his mouth at the sink. I was with him for the entire time, and he never left the living area where he was working on his equipment. I don't know why this got under my skin so bad, but I have some pretty intense anxiety about it. I don't like feeling crazy and, well, I definitely feel crazy. I was on a French exchange when I was 12 years old, and I dreamed of a place that seemed important at the time,
Starting point is 02:04:23 if you know what I mean. It was stylized, but when I moved continents at 30 and started working at a large software company in the Pacific Northwest, I never even visited the U.S. before. The campus was instantly recognizable. The cafeteria with outdoor tables, the small offices with phones and futons, and even the unnaturally steep waterfall.
Starting point is 02:04:52 It turned out that it was because it was unnatural, who would have guessed, and made it unmistakable. Even my office mate, a Mormon, had that same puzzled feeling that I had, and said that even though it wasn't in accordance with Mormon doctrine, he was sure we had met somewhere before, and that I was exactly where I should be right now.
Starting point is 02:05:18 Assuming it's not just some fantastically wild coincidence, the alternative is even more disturbing. The site had not been built when I was 12. It simply didn't exist. In the series of events that led me there, initially, that was the last company that I wanted to work for, were an incredible series of coincidences and spontaneous decisions. So, if this were the case, where does that leave free will? If I was going to be there to the extent of some kind of future memory,
Starting point is 02:05:57 how much actual choice did I have in those intervening 30 years, if it all led here? Have we already made all the choices, and this is just us watching them play out like reading a book after you've written it? Hey, Raven, it's JJJ. I decided to share this story because it's kind of been itching at me since I found these videos. So, this was back when I was in the fifth grade when our teacher was absent. I have no clue why. It's been a while. and we had a substitute who was this young lady with brown hair and green eyes.
Starting point is 02:06:47 I'll call her Miss Clark for this story. So Miss Clark introduced herself and then set us off in groups to do our work. Then lunch came and went and we returned to our class, and when I looked up at the teacher, I was a little confused. There's this older woman with grayish hair and dark brown eyes. At first, I thought that there was a sub-switch, but I looked at her name tag and it still said Miss Clark, with the same first name, spelled the same.
Starting point is 02:07:24 I looked at my friend that I'll call Sean, who also looked confused at what he was seeing while everyone else seemed not to notice this weird change. After the initial shock wore off, I just decided to go on with the day, and did until the end of the day. I walked past Miss Clark in the hallway, the original Miss Clark that I saw earlier. I ran to my bus and kept my head down until I got home. I still think about this, and I even discuss it with Sean from time to time. I just joined this sub, and this is my first post.
Starting point is 02:08:16 I'm currently living in Taiwan, so the currency that we use here is NTD, which, for those that don't know, is the new Taiwan dollar. This info will be important later on in the text. So, this has got to be the strangest moment in my life that I have ever experienced. Almost a year ago, I went cycling to get some shaved ice after visiting the doctor. I clearly remember after paying the medical fees, my wallet was left with just one 50 NTD coin. I stuffed my wallet in the small side pocket vertically in my backpack and off to get shaved ice. It's delicious, by the way.
Starting point is 02:08:58 After ordering the ice, while waiting for the ice, I went to get my wallet to get the money. This is when things get weird. When I opened the small side pocket of my backpack, a 50nTD coin rolled out. Naturally, I thought it was the only 50 NTD coin in my wallet. So I grabbed my wallet and checked. To my surprise, the 50 coin was still in my wallet. So now I have two 50 NTD coins. And I shut my wallet immediately and decided to use the 50 coin to pay for the ice.
Starting point is 02:09:35 I hold a coin in my hand while waiting for the ice to be made, and then I started to feel a strange feeling. It felt like I was out of place and had forgotten why I was so. standing there. Then, the shaved ice maker told me that the ice is done. I realized that I need to pay for the ice, and I remembered that I had the coin in my hand. However, when I checked both of my palms, it can't be found. And it was also not on the floor.
Starting point is 02:10:06 It just disappeared. I then used the 50 NTD coin in my wallet to pay for the ice. While eating the ice, I felt so. confused and was trying to understand what it just happened. What I think happened, it was when I stuffed my wallet into the small pocket of my backpack, two realities were created. One where the coin was in the wallet, while the other were the coin rolled out of the wallet. Somehow these two realities overlapped, for some unknown reason, but they then detached after that.
Starting point is 02:10:44 If it's true, I'm really curious. as to why such a thing happened all of a sudden. Hey, everyone. Not exactly a glitch, per se, but a very intriguing situation nonetheless. A little backstory. This happened in September of 2019,
Starting point is 02:11:13 about a week before my wedding. On the floor next to my office chair, I had a box of small glass tea light candle holders that were to be used as a table decoration for the wedding. They needed the barcodes removed, so they looked more appealing, and I had set one on top of the box of 32 to remind myself that I needed to take care of that. I was home alone with my two cats, and my now wife was at the gym. I was slacking off, sitting at my computer, watching a YouTube video on quantum mechanics mods for Minecraft, instead of helping get things ready for the wedding, when suddenly,
Starting point is 02:11:56 throughout my whole body, I felt like I had touched a light socket, or gotten a very strong static shock. At that exact moment, I heard something hit the carpeted floor next to me. I turned immediately and found that it was the candle holder that used to be on top of the box. It had been tossed about two feet from the box. At first I thought one of the cats had batted it off because they're supposed. both very mischievous and playful, and that's absolutely something they would do, so I immediately searched the room. No cats. Then I walked out to the living room to look for them, and they were both asleep on the cat tree, 20 feet away from where I was sitting. When I realized that it couldn't
Starting point is 02:12:48 have been one of them, I absolutely lost my mind. I got freaked the F out and sat on the couch until my wife got home, and I could not get the situation off of my mind for several days. It really shook me, and I lost a good amount of sleep over it, too. The only explanation I can come up with is that something or someone in another dimension, realm, whatever you want to call it, was trying to get me to get off my lazy, unhelpful back end, and get something done for the wedding. I even have a photo of where the candle holder landed on the floor, but I can't post photos on this sub. Hey there, friends. I hope that you enjoyed this collection of scary stories on this episode of the As the Raven Dreams podcast.
