Starting point is 00:00:00 If you have a true scary story you'd like to share with the podcast, go to as-the-ravendreams.com and click the button to send it my way. Also, if the platform you're on has the option to rate the podcast or leave a comment, please consider doing so. And as always, thank you. Hello, Raven, and hello to my fellow Matrix Dwellers. I've been listening to your podcast for a while, and I wanted to start by saying thank you for telling these interesting stories. Because of you, I've grown fascinated by glitches, and honestly, these episodes have helped me get through a countless number of boring days at the office. However, today, I have my own story to share. It may not be as jaw-dropping as some of the others that you've read, but it's been messing with me, and I would appreciate some outside perspective.
Starting point is 00:01:04 You actually read a story recently about a person that had weird dreams, and it kind of inspired me to type this up for you, so I guess thank you as well to that person. A bit of background to start. I work as a tech support person for a software company, and I deal with an array of issues. These issues range from my laptop caught fire, which, yes,
Starting point is 00:01:34 was a ticket that we once got, to I forgot my password or I can't log in to the servers. Every day brings its own set of random challenges, but one ticket that I had to take care of here recently stands out, as it was, well, weird. A few weeks ago, I had this really strange and vivid dream. Nothing out of the ordinary at first. It started as just one of those. normal workdays in dreamland kind of dreams. In the dream, I was called by a coworker whom I'm going to call Emma. Emma called me and asked me to come over as she was having a bit of a strange issue with her system. The weirdest part of all this was the level of detail in the dream.
Starting point is 00:02:24 I remember walking to her desk. I remember her describing the issue. I remember sending a text to one of the higher-level texts because I, I was thinking that this was related to a specific server issue we'd had the day prior, and come to find out, it was. I remember that during the troubleshooting and repair, I needed to ask Emma for her password. This is something that we typically do not do and support,
Starting point is 00:02:54 but very specific issues with the authentication server sometimes require us to input the password from our systems. But it gets weirder. In this dream, I asked her for the password, and she told me that it was Purple Pangolin, with capital P's 619 exclamation point. Not exactly a common and easy-to-guess password. Now fast-forward a week, I get a call from Emma, and she tells me that she's having a really weird issue with her system.
Starting point is 00:03:30 I walk over to her desk and we start talking about the problem. Not once do I even think about the dream while this is happening. She starts telling me what's going on. I'm watching her go through the steps to replicate the issue, and then I grab my phone to shoot a text. The second I unlock my phone, I get hit with the memory of the dream rushing back to me. I'm just standing there staring at my phone,
Starting point is 00:03:58 swimming in this awkward feeling of surreal deja vu. I actually cut her off mid-sentence, not intentionally, but I did so, and I asked. Wait, Emma, I'm sorry, but is your password purple pangolin 619 exclamation mark? It was weird to ask, I know, and after I asked it I felt incredibly stupid, but Emma just kind of stared at me with her mouth open, like she was shocked.
Starting point is 00:04:32 She asked, How did you know that? Did you get that from watching me type it? I couldn't help but laugh, partly out of relief and then partly out of pure bewilderment. I responded with, You wouldn't believe me if I told you, and tried to just shake the moment off. I then mentioned that it was a good password,
Starting point is 00:04:55 but since I knew it, I recommended changing it if she felt uncomfortable with me knowing it. And then I went through the steps to get the problem that she was having fixed. Afterwards, she kind of poked me to figure out how I knew her password, and I told her that I just kind of knew it. Thankfully, she's not the type to think that I'm weird or anything for having this situation happen, and when I explained it to her, she laughed. that it was really crazy.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Crazy as it was, I've been trying to rationalize this occurrence ever since. I've never experienced prophetic dreams or anything of the sort before, but the specificity of this dream, the password, the issue, the person, contacting an upper-level tech to confirm the issue, and the way that it played out in real life, it was nearly the same as the dream. I can't seem to quite wrap my head around it. I know that dreams can be weird, that our brains can make something out of our daily lives, but this dream seemed like something else altogether.
Starting point is 00:06:09 It's definitely left me questioning some things, much like the other stories you've told. Is our world really as solid and predictable as we would like to believe? Or is it more malice? subject to unseen forces. Whatever it may be, I'm not going to be forgetting this glitch anytime soon. That is, unless my own personal agent Smith comes around and wipes my memory. Lazzang sur-gillet, puissance-mojohn for 15 minutes.

Starting point is 00:07:31 I have what I thought was micro dreams. Dreams that happen in seconds as I nod off to sleep. But where I think this for me is a glitch, is when I'm having them, they're just fragments of some random person's life. They take place in places I've never been, involve people that I've never met. When I'm there, I'm one of them. them. And that world is real. I know what that person does, and I have no knowledge of me in this world. For example, the glitch nod happens, and boom. I'm on a landline phone telling someone
Starting point is 00:08:20 I've been on the force for longer than any of those kids. And I feel like a 60-something worn-out cop frustrated by the facts that he now takes orders from someone a quarter of his age. Then, boom, I'm jolting away at my computer less than a minute passed in what felt like 20. I have too many to list, but the one that changed my view on these happened several years ago. I was at the computer, I nodded off, and I was suddenly in a suit with a suitcase standing in an upscale urban area. I was still me, this time, as in I was a way. aware of who I was in this world, or this life that I currently exist within. I had actual control of this body.
Starting point is 00:09:12 I felt the breeze in the air, experienced all the smells, the sensations of the shoes that I had on, being new and not broken in yet. I felt the weight of the suitcase. I smelled coffee in the air, and then turned and saw a coffee shop with the place where people could lock up their bicycles. It was dark, but the sky was mostly clear, just some passing clouds. The streets in this area weren't asphalt. They looked like brick pavers, and it wasn't a normal busy street.
Starting point is 00:09:49 In fact, the area that I was in wasn't busy at all. I didn't see anyone else, but I could hear the traffic not far away. It was just after 10.30. almost 1040. I, slash, he, was wearing a non-digital watch. The ground was slightly wet, like it had rained earlier that day. I was standing near a bus stop. I was taking in everything as I looked around trying to record this all to memory.
Starting point is 00:10:23 Then I started to feel like I was becoming this person. I somehow knew I worked at the building that I was standing. by. To my right, there was a tall skyscraper. It was modern-looking, but had very distinct architecture. I was so amazed by how clear everything was and how vivid the colors were. Like watching an HD movie after years of only watching VHS ones. I looked up at the moon, just emerging from thinning clouds. It was the moon right before a full moon that almost... looks full.
Starting point is 00:11:04 I was so amazed by how clearly I could see it. I realized that this body I was in had really good eyesight. Mine in this world needs glasses to see anything more than three foot away. Well, I jolted back to sitting at my PC. I said, I've got this fresh in my head, and I went on to Google Earth looking for this place to see if it was real or not. but then how do I find it? I knew it was within the U.S.
Starting point is 00:11:36 because all the signs weren't English and were clearly familiar to me being an American. It was just after 10.40 as well, so it was likely in the same time zone. I searched for two hours, and I found the exact place. I dropped into Street View, and a chill went through me like a million
Starting point is 00:12:01 in volts. Everything was there. The bus stop, the coffee shop, the bike racks, the building. I didn't know what to think. It was late, so I saved the spot on my Google Earth and went to bed. I wish I could share the exact location, but that computer crashed over a year ago, and I have since changed my Facebook that I originally posted the information to as a record. I just spent an hour looking for it again at work.
Starting point is 00:12:33 I'm in shipping and receiving, so it's not out of the norm to be on Google Earth, so I know how to find locations with little information. I can't remember the city. Ohio State or Michigan. I think the Matrix deleted it. It's possible the coffee shop went out of business and is now something different, but I found it last time by searching the building to do. I'll keep looking for it in my free time, and I'll add it here if I do find it.
Starting point is 00:13:05 Just a note, it's been over a month since I wrote this the first time. Still no luck in finding it. Being an artist, I'll attempt to draw the location as I remember the topography, and I'll add a link to this post if I get around to it. To answer or clarify, I don't know if this was an alternate reality, a glitch, or a road not taken. I don't know. But being somewhat rational, I can't say what it was or wasn't until I find this location again.
Starting point is 00:13:41 Until that point, it's just another question mark that makes me the strange guy that I am. The brain is an amazing thing. I think people overlook this fact when in relation to glitches and quantum immortality experiences. Are we shifting realities, or are we all dreaming or creating realities within our mind? These micro-dream glitches I get scream at me that something else is going on. Because when I'm in these experiences, I usually have no knowledge of this world. Or in case of experiences like this one, when I was aware of this world, it felt like the dream and that one was real.
Starting point is 00:14:28 I was asked why I care so much about the nature of reality if I can't change anything. I said, because if this is a simulation or dream of a higher dimensional version of myself, I want it to know that I know. And I want better for humanity than for it to just be an entertainment or an experiment. We are people that love, create, suffering when we don't have to, and we deserve better. I'll try to explain this the best that I can. It sounds inexplicable. This has never made sense to me, and I think about it on occasion because I could never figure it out.
Starting point is 00:15:26 It happened about ten years ago. I don't want to say where I actually was, but it was a Midwestern town. It bothers me because it doesn't make sense. I was driving through a city of around 200,000 people, and my parents live there, and the exit to get to their house was the last one before you left the city, driving east to west.
Starting point is 00:15:53 I missed the exit, and I didn't want to swerve at the last minute because there was traffic on the interstate. But then, I left the city, and anyone who lives in a Midwestern town knows that once you get past the last exit, you can go for miles before you even get a place that you can drive off on. So, basically, I figured I would just keep driving until I finally found a road to get off on and turn around. Anyways, I just kept driving. Then, I saw those big interstate signs that you see above you. But they were all rusted, without the signs.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Just the posts. I thought maybe it was due to road construction. I thought that maybe I had missed a detour. But at this point, I was paying attention, because I needed to get around and turn back. But there weren't any places to turn around, so I just kept driving. It didn't make any sense because there weren't lights anymore, and the road was getting worn out.
Starting point is 00:17:07 Like it hadn't been paved in years. Then there were trees, like lots of pine trees. It didn't make sense. I was kind of starting to panic because I didn't know where I was. I was sure that I didn't take a different route. The road started to get really old and the trees were dense, which didn't make sense, because this is a place with few trees. I slowed down because I was honestly scared and confused as to where I was, and I then saw some of those black and white roadblock signs just blocking the road. It did not make sense.
Starting point is 00:17:50 Why would they be in the middle of the damn highway? They were just sitting there, blocking the actual interstate. I thought maybe I had gotten off the interstate, so I stopped in the middle of the road, thinking, OK, I'll just turn around. So I crossed the median and started to drive back. I felt lost. But I drove on the road, and without any turns, I came back and was on the damn same interstate. I don't get it.
Starting point is 00:18:22 I turned off the exit and drove right to my parents' house. I was always on the same road, and I never turned off except for the exit. I asked my parents if there was some kind of road construction going on, and they said not that they knew of. I was very confused and really worried. I was so bothered by it. I kept thinking about how I was probably so aloof that it was just a mistake, and I probably drove off in a different direction.
Starting point is 00:18:55 When I left to go home a couple of days later, I wanted to make sure, so I went back on the exact same interstate and drove in the exact same direction. It was fine. There were no roadblocks, no trees, no nothing. I never turned off. I was always driving on the exact same road.
Starting point is 00:19:18 That interstate was not the same point. place. I don't know. It bothers me to this day. I guess I wanted someone else's opinion as to what might have happened. P.S., I have no mental illness. I don't do drugs. I don't drink and drive. It was Sioux Falls, exit 29, on the west side of town while I was traveling westbound on I-90. Sorry to keep adding, but I honestly believe that I was in a place that did not exist, or I wasn't supposed to be in. I can't think of any other explanation. It keeps going over my head over the years, and nothing else makes sense.
Starting point is 00:20:03 I really don't know. It bothers me so much. This happened to me for the second time today, and it freaked me out. The first time it happened, I wanted to share a post here, but I just didn't feel like it was enough on its own. I honestly don't know if this could be classed as a glitch, but the feeling I get from this when it happens is that the concept of time isn't real, or linear, and we have the ability to basically experience things from the future without even noticing until after it's happened. It sounds crazy, but I'll explain.
Starting point is 00:20:56 So here it is. This has happened to me twice now. I am an artist, and both times this happened, has been when I have an idea in my head, and I'll scour through reference images until I find the one. Not that I have an exact known building in my mind, just something that looks how I imagine the scene in my mind. I'll choose a building that I don't know anything about, just that I like the look of.
Starting point is 00:21:29 The first time was a few months ago. I was drawing an Amsterdam street scene. I had to look through various blogs, Instagram accounts, and Google searches, until I found a building I felt was just right to draw. I started drawing it, and then went to make a coffee and have a quick break from drawing. I sat down with my coffee
Starting point is 00:21:53 and was mindlessly flicking through Instagram's stories when someone I know who lives in Amsterdam shared a photo and what was in the background the exact same damn house that I had just drawn
Starting point is 00:22:09 now I know what you're thinking you probably think I just thought they were the same building because the canal houses often have similar features I took two screenshots and compared everything from the window frames the shape of the roof, the things outside the building, the tree, the stones on the pavement, the building next door.
Starting point is 00:22:34 It was 100% the same building. I also know Amsterdam quite well myself, and can say with 100% certainty that it is the exact same building. I message the guy that I know, and I said, is that a famous building or something? and he said it wasn't, and that he hadn't even specifically photographed that building. It was a regular Amsterdam building. A nice one, but nothing extraordinary compared to every other building out there. Nothing that makes it stand out more than others.
Starting point is 00:23:13 I explained to him what had happened, and I showed him my screenshots and my drawing. And he was equally as freaked out, too. Please bear in mind that this all happened within the space of an hour or less. Today, the same thing happened again with another building. Two days ago, I was scouring the internet looking for references for a London warehouse, Victorian period. I already had the idea of how it would look in my mind. I just needed to find a photograph to draw from that matched.
Starting point is 00:23:48 So, I looked through hundreds of things. of warehouses and picked one. It had a nice, curved shape to the roof, and some white writing on the wall that said Spratt's Patent Limited. So I drew it. Weird fact, this warehouse was also next to a canal, so both my drawings that I'm referring to are canal scenes. Today, I was eating my dinner, and the TV was on.
Starting point is 00:24:20 A still image flashed on the screen and guess what it was. It was the exact same building that I had just drawn two days ago. Same angle and everything. I was once again so freaked out. The program was not even anything about the building. It was just a still image that quickly flashed up to show where they were filming. Some quick statistics for you. In Amsterdam, there were beliefs.
Starting point is 00:24:50 to be around 7,000 historical canal houses. So what made me choose this one? I can't find any estimation online of how many Victorian warehouses there are in London, but I grew up there, and I can tell you that London is full of historical buildings, in warehouses, in wharves. Lots of folks will just tell me it's a coincidence, but personally, in my soul, I feel there's more to it than that. As an artist, I don't just draw anything for the sake of it.
Starting point is 00:25:26 I draw things that come from my soul, and where do my ideas come from? In these instances, I can honestly tell you that I feel like my ideas must have come from the near future. Time cannot be as linear as we believe it is. I hope this makes an interesting read, and I would like to be a little bit of the near future. and I would love to hear your thoughts or similar stories. My boyfriend and I were supposed to go to a wedding together, but he's a very anti-social person, so I went alone. He jokingly told me not to pick up anyone at the reception,
Starting point is 00:26:14 and I laughed it off. Why would something like that happen? It turned out, at the party, I was standing next to a very engaging guy who started to flirt, with me. We had a great deal in common, and we ended up sitting at the bride and grooms table together. I was having a really great time, and was feeling a little guilty about how much I was enjoying the company of this guy. However, at one point, I decided to excuse myself to go to the bathroom. I pushed my chair back, and he reached out his arm to steady me, and my hand went to his
Starting point is 00:26:56 shoulder. As I did that, just as you would see in the movies with memories, I literally saw my entire life flash before my eyes with he and I in it. I saw us fall in love, Mary, have children, face separation, divorce, everything. It happened at a rapid speed, yet I could feel every emotion of every moment. I removed my hand from his shoulder, and he looked at me and smiled. No time had passed during that flashback. No one seemed to notice but me. Needless to say, I was absolutely confused.
Starting point is 00:27:40 Years later, I met him in a capacity to actually ask him about that day, and he was non-plussed, so I never told him anything about it. A little backstory. A few years ago, my neighbor moved out, abandoning more than half a dozen cats. We fed and took care of the ones that we could, and eventually found homes for most. There was one that my kids just fell in love with. She was friendly and never had any aggression towards our other two indoor cats, when they would sit at the patio door.
Starting point is 00:28:28 So, we ended up adopting her. She was a seamless fit into our family, but there was and still is something about her. That just seems different. By the way, her name is Honey. On to the story with a little context to help paint the picture. Since the day we brought her into the house, which was about two years before this specific incident, every morning when my two teenage kids would go out to wait for the bus, Honey would go with them.
Starting point is 00:29:02 We would have the same routine, Monday through Friday, and wake up, get ready. When the kids would be getting their shoes on, she would sit patiently by the door to go out to wait for the bus with them. As long as it wasn't raining, she would always sit with them at the end of the driveway. If it was raining, she would sit under my car, directly in my line of sight, and watch from there until the bus came. As soon as they were picked up, she would run back up the driveway and come back inside where her and my other two cats would sit on their mats and wait for their morning treats.
Starting point is 00:29:39 I always stood at the door watching them get on the bus. I know I said they're teenagers, but I stand there so I can let honey back in after they were picked up. So our day started out the same. It was raining so honey was sitting under my car, I was standing at the screen door for about ten minutes. The bus pulls up, and the kids get on. I get ready to open the door for honey, but for the first time, she didn't come right to the door.
Starting point is 00:30:13 I opened it, hoping to prompt her to come in, and she didn't move. It was so abnormal for her not to come right in that I thought that maybe there was something wrong. I scooched down a little to make sure her fur wasn't caught on the undercarriage of my car and it wasn't. I waited, I would say, about a minute or two longer, and gave her one last look to see if she had decided to come in. But she was still loafed out under my car, since I needed to get on with my day, I figured I would check in a few minutes later to see if she changed her mind. As I went to shut the main door, I pushed on it lightly and it wouldn't close. I nudged a little harder, and there was a little give, but still it wouldn't shut all the way.
Starting point is 00:31:07 So I opened the door, and that's when I saw the reason for why my door wouldn't shut. Sandwiched in between the screen door and the main door was honey. But this was impossible for two reasons. For one, I had just seen her still sitting under my car. For two, our screen door isn't all screen. I guess it may be considered more of a storm door, where the bottom part is metal and the top part has the option to slide a glass panel down to have the screen open on the top half.
Starting point is 00:31:43 So it's not like she ran through some hole in the screen and then got stuck. I pushed on the metal panel from both sides. If she'd somehow gotten through it with brute force, it would have been loud. And the metal part was solid. There was no way through it. And again, there was no way for her to get from under my car to in between the two doors in the one or two seconds between me looking at her one last time to me closing the main door. So, was this a glitch?
Starting point is 00:32:20 After I stood there for probably way too long looking between my car and the door, trying to wrap my head around what just happened, I remembered that we had recently upgraded our home security cameras, and I could access all of it on my phone. I pulled up the part that I wanted and watched. First, my daughter walks out, then Honey and her behind my son. You can see Honey go under my car and then nothing.
Starting point is 00:32:52 She never comes back out. You can't see her on video under the car, and there's one blind spot for that specific camera that she could have walked through the bushes, and it wouldn't have been picked up. But that would mean that she would have had to have run through the bushes around the house to the back door, somehow gotten through a locked-slash-closed door or window,
Starting point is 00:33:17 and then gotten between the two doors in less than a second or two without me seeing her. Honestly, a glitch in the Matrix makes more sense than that scenario. I watched the video until way past the time of the incident just to be sure that there was no other doppelganger cats hanging around. I spent two hours going over the other cameras, and specifically the one that would catch the angle of the bush. And no cat walked from under my car into the bush, and there were no other cats in my yard that morning.
Starting point is 00:33:54 I will note, this is not the first incident like this. It was just the first one that I couldn't explain away by just remembering wrong, or thinking that I was just imagining it. I honestly could not accept it. explained what happened that morning. And before I came across Glitch in the Matrix YouTube videos, I really didn't have any form of reference to help me wrap my head around all of it.
Starting point is 00:34:23 I'd never really heard any stories like the ones I've been listening to. I had heard the term, but never gave it much thought. But after hearing all of these different accounts of odd, unexplainable situations, it gave me the answer that I needed. even though that answer has changed me at the very core as far as my beliefs, as far as what I thought reality was, and so much more, but I think you get it. I'm sorry for how long this is,
Starting point is 00:34:55 but for anyone who's ever had something like this happen, I'm sure you can attest to the fact that all you want to do is explain anything and everything in a way that people will feel even just a tiny bit of the extraordinary, scary, unbelievable feelings you felt while going through in events like this. I experienced a time glitch about five years ago, and I'm still trying to figure out if there's a rational explanation. At the time, I was working in an office in Cork City Center, and the car park I used was over a
Starting point is 00:35:42 kilometer away. There were a few different routes from the office to the car park, but it was all uphill on the way back to the car. If I took the shortest route and really rushed, practically ran, on a nice day it would take at least nine minutes. If I walked at usual pace, it would take up to 14 minutes as there are several roads that need to be crossed. The day in question, I left.
Starting point is 00:36:12 the office along with three of my work colleagues. We left at bang on 5 p.m. I checked with the others later, and yes, we left at exactly 5 p.m. The four of us walked part of the way together, and then the other three branched off as they used another nearer and more expensive car park. At the time, I used my walk to the car park to practice mindfulness. I tuned into my surroundings, listened to the sounds, looked at the people, experienced being in the moments, etc., etc. I remember climbing the steep stone steps at Kayser's Quay, beside Elizabeth Fort, and the next thing I was aware of was rounding the corner onto Tower Street.
Starting point is 00:37:05 I got into my car totally confused. There was a big gap on my route. I got into my car and the time in my car was showing as 1707. Same on my watch. I turned on the car radio and time check announced of seven minutes past five. I could not have gotten there that fast, particularly as the first part of the walk included chatting with three work colleagues. I racked my memory for the walk to the car,
Starting point is 00:37:38 and there is a huge gap. I have no memory at all of walking along several streets. What is particularly strange is that one of my neighbor's works in a dentist's surgery along the route, and I would have usually waved in the window at her as I passed. So I would always look to see if she was still working, but I have no memory whatsoever of that section of the route. I would also add that Cork City is pretty old, and the area that I was walking in
Starting point is 00:38:12 is one of the oldest sections. Did I walk into some time loop and get spat out in a different place? I've thought about this over and over, but I cannot explain it. I'll start with saying that this is not the first odd thing that I've experienced, but it is the first time something has happened that could be construed as a glitch. So, the other day during late afternoon, I needed to pick up something from the shop which is 500 meters away. I wanted to take my dog with me for a walk, so we took the bike track behind where my house is.
Starting point is 00:39:05 The track is on a levee bank and a highway runs parallel. So it isn't a very spooky looking place. It's more just average. I take the same walk at least a few times a week. As my dog and I were around halfway through our walk, the thought that I may have recently experienced a glitch popped up in my mind. But I said to myself, Ha, well, it's just one of those things that's too hard to determine from lack of memory
Starting point is 00:39:39 or paying attention, so who knows? Then, suddenly, just as that thought concludes, I feel a jerk and hear a sort of metal clicking sound. I looked down at my dog thinking, oh no, thinking that the lead or leash clip had broken. It hadn't. I also saw his council registration tag lying on the ground. Now, the thing with these tags is, they're quite hard plastic and are fastened around the dog's collar ring. the metal part that you attach the leash to.
Starting point is 00:40:20 It's like a very short cable tie, and it wasn't broken at all. Thankful that the leash wasn't actually broken, I clipped it back on to the metal ring, picked up the tag to put it in my bag, and then went on my way, thinking, time to write my glitch story to ask the Raven dreams. It felt pretty strange due to the timing, how I was just thinking about how I've suspected
Starting point is 00:40:47 some glitches, but not enough to be proof in my mind, if you know what I mean. When we got back home, I thought that maybe, just maybe, the metal ring on the collar was stretched and that the tag maybe came off that way. But when I looked, I saw that the metal part was one seamless ring. No gaps. This is the only place the tag was, and even so, how does it account for the plastic tag, which is in a loop like a cable tie, coming off? It really doesn't seem to make any sense, and now I don't even see how I can put it back on. It feels like I was disappointed that I didn't have a glitch to tell, a story about, so the universe threw me a glitch. So here is my glitch to you, Raven. I hope that you and others enjoy.
Starting point is 00:41:44 I have a small glitch story that happens to me a couple of weeks ago at work, which makes it that much more annoying. Work is stressful enough as it is. I don't need our simulation piling more and more issues onto what I already have to do on a Monday morning. As an accounting analyst, my job involves a lot of back and forth with my manager, Dean. Dean is a temporary lead for my team,
Starting point is 00:42:21 as the original team lead left the company. And he's also the head of compliance for the teams. Because he's a compliance guy, he's a bit aggressive with our team and making sure that we are getting information to him in proper reports and in good time. On this particular Monday that I'm referring to, I was just setting up into my normal Monday routine,
Starting point is 00:42:49 sifting through the emails, getting my task list ready for the week when my desk phone started beeping. I glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was Dean's desk phone. I picked up expecting the usual rundown of tasks for the day. Instead, Dean asked me for a specific compliance report concerning a project that we had been working on. He said that he needed the report right away, which was one of the things that was strange to me.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Dean is a very detail-oriented manager, and he plans things out. He knows what he needs when he needs it, so for him to say that he needed it urgently was a bit strange, but not impossible. I told him that I would get it to him within the hour. He thanked me and we hung up. So, I got to work swiftly compiling data and printing out the report, which I will say was not an easy task. carrying the freshly printed report in hand, I headed towards Dean's office, expecting to find him at his desk as always.
Starting point is 00:44:01 But to my surprise, his door was open and the office was completely dark. Thinking that maybe he'd called me and stepped into a meeting or something, I walked over to Bob's office, another manager who usually knows what's up. When I asked him where Dean was, He looked at me a bit confused and mentioned that Dean was on vacation for that week, and that he was due back next Monday. I blinked, surprised, and told him that I got a phone call just a bit ago for the report.
Starting point is 00:44:35 He shook his head and just said, No, he's not in for the week, so that can't be right. Feeling increasingly confused, I returned to my desk to check my phone's call log. I expected there to be a call there at 8.35 a.m. But as I scrolled through the calls, there was nothing for that morning. The last call that I'd had from Dean was on Thursday afternoon. I just kind of sat there and stared at my report that I was holding in my hand, the one that Dean had supposedly asked me for about an hour prior.
Starting point is 00:45:13 I wasn't sure what to do with it, so I just put it in my desk drawer. and decided that if he needed it when he came back, I would have it. The rest of the day passed in a bit of a blur, with me unable to shake off this unsettling feeling that left me with. I don't know why I got this call. I know that it was my boss's voice. I know that he requested something that he would normally request, but in the end, I confirmed with him that he never called me.
Starting point is 00:45:45 and I have no idea what all this was, nor do I have any answers for it, but at least I got an interesting story to share. I'd like to say that I have a routine, or, well, a type of routine, I guess. It involves the same things daily, but the difference is that I go to different shops. It's the same six to seven shops that I have rotating every week. the music store, the comic shop, a local artisanal bakery, among other things. So, my normal day goes like this. I wake up and do the normal things in the morning before work.
Starting point is 00:46:40 I go to work, finish work, come home, change out of my work clothes, and then I head out again to go shop for a few things. I know how it sounds, spending money like that every day, But I honestly only buy a snack at the bakery, or something on sale at the comic or music shop. It's rarely ever me getting a buttload of stuff at every store, unless a stimulus check comes in again like last time, and then I proceeded to buy 25 comics and a stack of vials. Today was no different.
Starting point is 00:47:16 I got home, checked out of my work clothes, and headed out. Today I was going to buy a few frames for my vinals at the music shop. shop. I had a few records that I didn't really listen to but cherished for nostalgia reasons, and I wanted to preserve and show them off to people when they came over. I hop back into my car, and I take off. After about a six-minute drive into town, I reached the music shop. I can't deny that I get excited during these moments, knowing that I'm adding something, no matter how small, to change up the scenery
Starting point is 00:47:53 around me at home. It kind of feels like a new chapter each time. As I walked into the music shop, the familiar strong smell of incense in the stale air, I said, hey, to Greg, the owner of the shop, and a good friend. What's up, man? Back so soon? Greg said. Can't get enough. You know that. That was pretty much the interaction I had each time I walked into Greg's shop. I head to the back of the store where the accessories are, and grab a few of the frames on the shelf and head to the front.
Starting point is 00:48:31 Just this good, sir, I said. Got you, my guy. Wait, you need more already? He commented. What do you mean? The frames? This is my first set that I'll be using, I replied. Did something happen to the ones from before?
Starting point is 00:48:50 What? What ones from before? the ones that you bought yesterday, Greg said. But I didn't. I stopped. I hadn't gone to Greg's yesterday. Like I said before, I keep my shop routine on rotation all week. Yesterday was the comic shop in the bakery.
Starting point is 00:49:13 Monday was the grocery store and the cafe. I hadn't been to Greg since at least Sunday. I haven't been in here in a few days. And I didn't buy frames then. I didn't buy anything, actually, just looked around. Oh, uh, hmm. My mistake, then, he said. He rang me up, and I walked out as confused as I've ever been in my entire life.
Starting point is 00:49:39 I decided to head to the cafe. It was originally going to be the bakery, but I really needed a coffee after that interaction. I drove to the cafe and got out of the car, and trotted over to the glass door in the front. As I opened the door and looked around to see how many people were there, I noticed someone standing in line that didn't make sense at all. Whoever this was looked exactly like me. And I mean identical.
Starting point is 00:50:14 They were even wearing the exact Marvel sweater that I have in my closet at home. I was so taken aback. that I didn't notice I was just fully blocking the doorway to the shop. I step in, still staring at the man with my face and clothes. The barista, Emily, another friend of mine, called out to me asking if I'd have the regular. It snapped me out of my trance. I looked over at her and said, Huh? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:45 Uh, sure, two shots of espresso this time around. Oh, feeling adventurous. Coming right up, Chief. The man with my face must have overheard mine and its name being called, because when I looked back to where he was, he was staring right at me, completely horrified like I was. Another ten seconds of staring, and my name is called again. I look over to see Emily with my coffee in hand, holding it out.
Starting point is 00:51:18 I walk over and give her cash and tell her to keep the change, turning around before she can say anything. As I turned around, I noticed that the man was no longer there. Maybe he slipped out while I was grabbing my coffee. I turned back around and asked Emily if she saw anyone who looked like me today. She said she thought she saw me walk in about three minutes before I ended up ordering, but she didn't see me slip back out. I walked out of the cafe.
Starting point is 00:51:49 nothing, nobody with my features or my car or anything nearby. So, is that what Greg saw yesterday? Was it another version of me? As of the time of writing this, it's been four days since I saw my doppelganger, or whatever that was. I never saw anyone that looked like me after that, nor did Greg or any of the other shopkeepers say they saw me buying things when I wasn't.
Starting point is 00:52:21 If any of you know anything about what I just experienced or experienced something similar, please let me know. Because I'm kind of freaking out. Hi, Raven. I wanted to share something that I had just experienced a few days ago. My husband and I had been doing some yard work since we actually got a break in this heat wave. We both worked together cleaning up the front yard.
Starting point is 00:52:57 He moed while I cleared out the guard. garden beds, of dead stems, leaves, and those relentless weeds. Then, as he did the edging of the driveway, I swept the sidewalk and patio. Once the front yard was finished, we made our way to the backyard. It's a bit larger, so my husband started mowing while I armed myself with the weed wacker and hedge clippers to clean up everything else. We both knew that once we got into the rhythm of our tasks, we'd be too far apart, and it would be too loud to chat.
Starting point is 00:53:32 And so we both put in our earbuds to, at least, listen to some music as we tackled the remaining yard work. Everything was going along smoothly as I trimmed the weeds around our fence when I noticed an insect that caught my eye. As I looked at it, it appeared to have an uneven number of legs. I know that sounds like a no-brainer. The bug was just missing some legs, but it was more than that. It was as if the leg placement was asymmetrical. Imagine an oval shape that was pinched at one end. Then, on the tip of the pinched part, there was one leg, one leg on each side of the pinch, and one leg further up on the right.
Starting point is 00:54:16 That's it. Now, I like insects, but I'm no entomologist, so this thing did not look like something I had seen before. So I stopped the weed whacker and bent down. to get a closer look at it. While examining this little guy, out of nowhere and clear as day, I heard my husband's voice say, What are you doing?
Starting point is 00:54:40 I jumped because between the music and the mower's roar, I hadn't expected him to be anywhere near me. It was as if he had materialized out of thin air. I whipped around, expecting to see him, but instead, there was no sign of my husband, and anywhere near me. Confused and a little freaked out, I hustled back around the corner
Starting point is 00:55:05 to see him still mowing on the opposite end of the yard. There was no way he could have sprinted over here, said that in my ear, and pushed the mower back that far that quickly, within the brief seconds since I'd heard his voice. I stood there, dumbfounded, trying to make sense of what had just happened. Then, when my husband turned around, we made eye contact, and he had a look of confusion.
Starting point is 00:55:34 I just shrugged, waving my hand to say, never mind, and we both continued with our work. Once we both finished, we walked our supplies to our garage, and my husband asked me why I just stopped and stared at the wall of the house. I was confused because I had done no such thing. I stopped and looked at the bug that was near the fence on the opposite side of where he was. We would not be able to see each other from where we were in those exact moments. I told him I hadn't done that, and he again looked confused, and explained that he clearly saw me do it, and that he thought to himself, what is she doing?
Starting point is 00:56:18 This, of course, made me think of my experience as well, so I asked him if by chance he came over and asked me and then ran off. He looked at me like I was making no sense and said no, confirming what I was thinking. I explained to him the bug that I saw and then what I witnessed, hearing his voice right next to me. We both thought that it was weird and decided to just leave it alone, but after listening to your stories for so long, I'm questioning if this was a glitch, or maybe some kind of tear in reality.
Starting point is 00:56:56 Maybe that bug wasn't from here, and when I noticed it and started looking at it, I shifted realms, while he saw the other version of me just freeze and pause. And maybe the voice I heard was him
Starting point is 00:57:11 from the other realm. But, since I broke contact with the bug, maybe I shifted back. I don't even know if any of this makes sense, but It was such a weird experience that I cannot stop thinking about it. Has anyone else seen something like a bug or structure that looks unreal that seems to shift their reality?
Starting point is 00:57:35 I would love to hear others' experiences, at least so I don't feel so crazy. I have always been a fan of quaint little shops. The ones that sell antiques and weird little things. The kind that exist, but you have no idea. how they managed to stay open because you never see customers in them. I had moved to a new town, not far from where I lived prior, but far enough that I hadn't spent a lot of time going through the shops that existed near my new complex. I decided to do some strip mall shopping, and in one of them, right next to a big lot,
Starting point is 00:58:26 I found this adorable little shop called The Curious Cabinet. It was an antique store. tucked into a narrow alley by the big lots. And the sign above it had definitely seen better days, but it was honestly what charmed me enough to check it out. I can tell you that the minute I walked into that store, I was hit with this smell of old books and repolished wood. It was an incredibly rustic smell,
Starting point is 00:58:55 one that imprinted itself into my memory. I was immediately greeted by the owner, a man who introduced himself as Mr. Thompson, and he was the most inviting and welcoming person I have ever met. He was so polite. He had information on every single item in his shop. He was dressed in a tan button-down shirt, wearing suspenders on his pants,
Starting point is 00:59:23 and a cute little news cap that fit him perfectly. Basically, this was the most adorable and friendly elderly maimely. I have ever run into in my 28 years of living on this planet. I spent a couple of hours in the shop, perusing the items, talking with Mr. Thompson about random things, and I found this little wooden owl statue. I asked him about it, and he mentioned that his brother had actually hand-carved it, that he spent hours cutting into the wood to make the owl. I talked to him about it a bit more,
Starting point is 01:00:00 and he mentioned that his brother had recently passed away. I asked him if he really wanted to sell the statue since it was something his late brother had created, and he immediately lit up, saying that he absolutely wanted to sell it. He said that his brother wanted to spread the joy of birds, and that someone else having that statue would be exactly what he would have wanted.
Starting point is 01:00:26 That story had me opening my wallet. It was a perfect sales pitch, and I have no reason to believe that it wasn't true. Mr. Thompson wrapped the owl in paper and handed it to me gently, telling me that he hoped that I would admire the statue for years to come, and thanked me so much for my business. As I left, he said that he hoped I would come back, and I immediately told him that I would, and that I would bring in more people that would love to see what he had.
Starting point is 01:00:59 and he was elated to hear that. About a week later, my sister came over and asked about the statue. I explained the whole story, told her about the curious cabinet and Mr. Thompson, and she seemed entirely enchanted about the idea. I told her that we could go, and she was all for it. We loaded up in my car, and I headed towards the big lots. When we got there, I drove up through the parking lot, and was confused.
Starting point is 01:01:31 The alleyway was still there, the big lots still existed, but the sign for the curious cabinet wasn't. I was concerned, thinking that somehow, in a week, the place had closed down. I parked and told her that it was in the alley, and she looked as confused as I was. We got out and walked over to where the shop was just a week prior, and in its place was a laundromat.
Starting point is 01:02:01 Confused and a little freaked out, I looked around thinking maybe I had just gone to the wrong place in the alley, that maybe I had forgotten the exact spot, but the only other place in the alley part of that strip mall was an insurance office. I stood there just staring at this uninviting door that said, Laundry Wash. There was no curious cabinet. No antique shop, just a building with a bunch of washing machines.
Starting point is 01:02:32 I don't know why, but I opened the door to the laundromat and walked in, thinking that if I crossed the threshold, it would magically change back to the beautiful little shop, and I would find out that Mr. Thompson was some kind of wizard or something. When I walked in, an older man that vaguely looked like Mr. Thompson walked out of the back and up to the register. But I could immediately tell that this was not the man that I spoke
Starting point is 01:03:00 to the other day. He had this aggressive scowl, this stare that screamed that he hated everyone. I kind of stuttered and asked if he was Mr. Thompson, and he nodded saying, Yeah, how can I help you? I asked him what happened to the antique shop
Starting point is 01:03:20 that was here, and he again just stared confused, saying that there wasn't an antique shop here and that he'd run this laundromat for the last seven years. I just sort of nodded and apologized for wasting his time, and I immediately turned around and grabbed my sister's arm to leave. She asked me if I was okay, but I told her that I had no idea what was going on, that this was an antique shop only a week prior,
Starting point is 01:03:50 and that I had bought the owl statue from that, old man, but he was much nicer. She laughed, probably through nerves, and told me that it was weird, but then mentioned that it was pretty clear that I had just forgotten where it was located. I tried to explain that I was certain that this was it, but reality was presenting evidence to the contrary. She shrugged it off, just saying that I would find it eventually, and when I did, we could go check it out.
Starting point is 01:04:24 I had to just agree and pretend that that was what was happening, but I know the truth. That store was right there, and that man was Mr. Thompson, but he was not the same man. The man running the laundromat was not personable. He looked like he was jaded after having worked at that place for so long, completely the opposite of the Mr. Thompson that I had met. I never found the store at all. It doesn't exist on Google Maps near me. I don't have any record of the transaction as I had bought that statue with cash,
Starting point is 01:05:03 and the receipt is nowhere to be found. The only evidence that I have now that I ever shopped at that shop is the fact that the statue still exists. It sits on my shelf in my bedroom, just this little anomaly in my existence. a reminder that at some point, something strange happened that I cannot explain. Okay, so before this starts, I just want to say that while I do have a heavy obsession with simulation theory, and because of that, a lot of you might think that I'm making this up.
Starting point is 01:05:54 But I swear what I experienced happened more than once. It happened for the first time two weeks ago. I had just gotten home from work after having a pretty rough day. I decided to text my friend John to see if he wanted to go to the bar and grab a few drinks. After a minute or two, he responded with, Sure, let me just take out the trash and I'll come scoop you up in my car. So, I told him, sweet, I'll be outside. After about ten minutes, I see John's car pulling up.
Starting point is 01:06:28 I get up from the bench that I was sitting on and hop in. Have you been, man? It's been a while since we've grabbed a drink, John asked me. I said, yeah, it's been good, told him that work was killing me. All good, man, let's co-get wasted, that'll help. Exactly my thinking. I've been needing a drink for quite a while, but haven't had the days off afterwards to drink the amount that I, quote, unquote, needed to help my situation.
Starting point is 01:06:58 I was aiming to get blackout drunk. We get to the bar after about a five-minute car ride. We get out and head in and go sit at a table rather than the bar. We usually did this when we wanted to get a bunch of wings as well as beer, which this time we did. After ordering, I realized that I left my wallet at home. John said it was fine and just to PayPal my half to him and to go grab his wallet from the car.
Starting point is 01:07:29 He tosses me his keys, and I trot outside to the car, grab the wallet and head back in. As I head to our table, I noticed that John wasn't there. Thought maybe he got up to use the bathroom. I sat down and the waitress brought me my first round. This place doesn't usually card regulars, i.e. me, after they get carded the first few times, so not having my wallet.
Starting point is 01:07:56 didn't matter for the drinks. As I sat and finished my first beer, John still hadn't returned. And after a few more minutes, my plate of wings in a second round came for my table. But the odd thing is, the wings John ordered, nor his beers never arrived. I asked the waitress where my friend's drinks and food were, and she looked at me confused. There was no one else at the table when you ordered, sir. "'What? That's impossible. He was sitting right across from me.' "'I don't know what to tell you, mister. There wasn't anyone else here when you ordered,' she replied.
Starting point is 01:08:37 I grabbed my phone off the table and texted John asking where he was. No answer. After about three to four minutes of this, I gave him a call. It went to voicemail. I called five more times before he finally picked up. Hey man, sorry, I just got your texts. Service has been weird all day. I just got to your house. You coming out? What?
Starting point is 01:09:03 Dude, you picked me up like half an hour ago, and we already ordered. Did you go back to my apartment? Then there was just silence on the other end. Hello? What? And then the line cut off. I called again, but there was no answer. I called two or three more times and nothing.
Starting point is 01:09:26 I got up from the table and sprinted outside, and John's car was gone. That's not possible, I thought. I went back in and checked the bathrooms, but nothing. There was no way if he was in the bathroom that he walked past me and out to the front door, without me seeing him. Even if he managed to, why would he? especially without telling me that he was leaving. I went back outside to call an Uber and wait for it. I was going to take it to John's house to see if he was all right,
Starting point is 01:10:01 but just as I opened the front door to the bar, I see John's car sitting right where he parked it, about 40 minutes prior. He wasn't in it, though. I turn around and there he is, sitting at the table, eating his wings, and sipping a Coors light. I walk up to him and instantly get mad at him. Dude, what the hell?
Starting point is 01:10:26 I've been looking for you for almost an hour. Where have you been? Huh? I've been here waiting for you to get out of the bathroom. You were in there a long time. Are you okay? He replied. What?
Starting point is 01:10:39 But I wasn't... I stopped mid-sentence. You know what? Never mind. Like I said, it's been rough lately. I sat down. and enjoyed my wings and beer, or at least try to, all the while I could feel John's eyes constantly fixed on me in a weird state of confusion.
Starting point is 01:11:00 After he dropped me off at home, a quiet car ride the whole way, I got on my computer and looked up some articles on simulation theory that I hadn't read in a while. And the more I read, the more than I thought I had just experienced some sort of glitch in the matrix. Since then, me and John have gone to the bar and got wings on two separate occasions. In both times, the same thing seems to occur. We order. Something causes one of us to get up from the table.
Starting point is 01:11:33 John is gone in both instances, and then he comes back 40 minutes later. Like, nothing ever happened. He usually says I should lay off the wings if it keeps putting me in the bathroom for that long. So I don't know if what I'm experiencing actually is a glitch in the Matrix, but what I do know is that it definitely is not normal. I've sent you three stories already, and all of them happen to me. I'm so grateful to finally be able to send them to someone who may be able to add them to their other stories and produce some plausible explanations for all of it.
Starting point is 01:12:27 My first time-slip experience happened when I was a child. I was about 12, and I went to a church bazaar with my aunt. We were walking around, taking part in the usual things, games, buying cake or ice cream, and we circled back a few times to one area where a lot of men were gambling to get some very expensive prize. My auntie looked at me and said, You're a very lucky person. Let's try your luck at what they're doing.
Starting point is 01:13:03 I remember looking at her and saying, Are you sure? Those men are trying to win alcohol. Will they let me play? She said not to worry, and we walked over. The game in question required you to match the right card with the one under the expensive array of bottles of alcohol. We'd stood up long enough to see what was causing the frenzy.
Starting point is 01:13:29 However, when she said what she sent to me, we walked over towards the game itself. As I stood up and looked at the entire layout of all the bottles and the cards, I felt as though I was watching every single card facing up. It was so absurd that I didn't even hesitate. I just said, of course, that one. I didn't need to take several turns. I did it right away. I won the expensive alcohol.
Starting point is 01:14:01 The game came to a shuddering end of great disappointments to all of who were gambling. My aunt was vindicated in seeing me as lucky. I'll never forget how easy it seemed. The cards in my mind were all revealed, and I just knew what to do, as if I had always known. I've had one more experience like that as an adult, and I always wonder what it would take to do it again.
Starting point is 01:14:31 What I do know is the time seems to slow down completely, and you have to be very calm and very clear about what you're going to do, and then absolutely ignore everything else. I live in the Caribbean, and I was home alone this day. consider an L-shaped space facing the other way. I was sitting in the kitchen table, and just off of that space you can see right out to the drying yard, where we hang sheets and laundry sometimes to save on the light bill. The room before that is the laundry room. I got up and went to the kitchen,
Starting point is 01:15:20 and then thought that I might put out some laundry that was hanging in that room. I took up the key that was. hanging on the wall outside the laundry, and considered opening the gates to the drying yard to put said laundry out. But then, I decided not to bother, as I could see that the sky was overcast. Instead, I just left the keys on the ironing board. I remember having an internal monologue with myself about this decision, and then I went back to the kitchen. Here is where the story gets odd. I got a call from my cousin in Canada, and as he spoke to me, all the pores raised on my body. It was not what he had said to me, but the fact that as he was speaking to me,
Starting point is 01:16:14 something made me walk with the phone to the hallway between the laundry room and the drying yard. The gate was wide open, and the keys were where I left them. Needless to say, I cut the conversation short and retraced my steps a few times. I have no idea how this happened. The thing about moments like this is that they seem way too small and insignificant to be real. However, this happened in such a blink that I cannot believe that I'm wrong. The gate always makes a sound when you open it. It's a wrought iron gate, and the lock is a tricky one that demands that you jiggle it a few times just to open it.
Starting point is 01:16:57 surely if I had opened it in that nanosecond, I would have remembered doing it. I've lived in the same suburb for close to ten years now. It's a quiet place, filled with young families, retirees, and the occasional college student renting a room. My next-door neighbor, Mark, was a bit quiet, but he was the kind of neighbor that you could at least count on, at the minimum, for a friendly wave. We'd spoken a few times, nothing of real substance, just idle banter among neighbors.
Starting point is 01:17:46 But I personally considered him a friend, and even if he kept to himself, I thought that he was a decent dude. He was a middle-aged guy, lived alone and had been in the neighborhood for almost as long as I had. One summer evening, I was out mowing the lawn, when Mark pulled into his driveway.
Starting point is 01:18:08 He got out of his car, waved, and then said that he had to head out of town for a week. Business trip. Work was forcing him to go to an office out of the state and work with them to get some issues fixed. It was probably the most in-depth conversation that he and I had ever had. He explained that this office was way behind on numerous projects, and that he was a project manager.
Starting point is 01:18:34 So he had to basically put them into their place. I wished him a safe journey, told him that I'd keep an eye on his house to make sure nothing happened, and that was that. Then a week passed. Then two weeks. And there was no sign of Mark. His car was still gone. His mailbox was starting to look full, and his lawn was becoming overgrown. I was a bit concerned.
Starting point is 01:19:04 But I really didn't know what to do. I went and knocked on the door to see if he'd made it home, but obviously there was no answer. I checked in on the house the next day, and still, no answer. That's when I started to worry a bit. Mark had said a week, not multiple weeks. And I feel like he would have mentioned it if it was going to be that long. I did contact the local police to do a potential welfare check,
Starting point is 01:19:34 But they said that the house was locked and that there was no signs if anyone in distress, so there wasn't anything they could do. They suggested that it was just possible that he had to extend the trip, and basically just had to accept that as what was happening. Then, things got really weird. About three days after that, I went out for an evening walk, and as I passed by Mark's house, I noticed something odd.
Starting point is 01:20:06 The lawn. It was perfectly manicured, like someone had just moated. I thought that either Mark was home, or maybe a family member or friend had come over to take care of it, but it was still strange. I knocked on the door just in case,
Starting point is 01:20:23 and there was still no answer. The next day I mentioned to my girlfriend that the lawn was mowed at Mark's house, and this is where all hell broke loose. The first thing she said was, who's Mark? I was taken aback. Mark, our next-door neighbor, tall guy, has black hair that's usually slicked back. Kind of quiet, but a nice dude.
Starting point is 01:20:50 Drives the blue Nissan Centra? She stared at me confused, and I motioned in the direction of his house, saying, Mark, the guy that literally lives next door. She responded with, I have no idea who you're talking about. That house has been empty for about a year now, since that family moved out. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
Starting point is 01:21:16 Was she joking? But the look on her face told me that she was dead serious. I tried to explain who Mark was. I told her about how we had to leave for a business trip about three weeks ago. mentioned that the grass was starting to get overgrown, and even mentioned that I'd asked the police to do a welfare check on him, but that they couldn't do anything. She then hits me with,
Starting point is 01:21:43 Look, I don't know who Mark is, but you are the one that mowed the lawn next door. You did it yesterday. You mentioned that it was overgrown and that you were annoyed that the real estate company wasn't taking care of it, and you went over there and mowed it. This was where I really lost it in my own head. I didn't mow that grass.
Starting point is 01:22:05 Or, at least, I don't remember doing it. That house belonged to Mark, but apparently Mark never lived there. And my own girlfriend, who has lived here for years, doesn't know who Mark is. Weirder still, she remembers a family that lived there with kids. And I have zero recollection of this family ever having lived there. This all happened about a year ago. The whole thing with Mark leaving and apparently leaving this existence altogether. I still have no recollection of ever mowing that grass.
Starting point is 01:22:41 No recollection of being upset at a real estate company that I didn't even know owned the house. And I don't know the family that supposedly lived there. I don't know what happened. I really don't, but by the end of this, I'm worried that something happened to Mark, and it caused me to shift timelines. Is that a thing that can happen? Can something happen to another person and change the timeline that you exist in? My boyfriend and I both have our own vehicles.
Starting point is 01:23:27 I drive a black Jeep, and he drives a white escape. He was at work yesterday until 4.30 p.m., and I got off work around 11 a.m. and decided to go to my friend's house for a little bit. My friend came outside when I got to her house, and we walked into her house together. About 20 minutes later, I realized I left my cigarettes in the jeeps, so I went out to get them.
Starting point is 01:23:56 As I walked out the door, I saw my boyfriend's white escape, which I do drive a lot, sitting in the driveway. I was confused because it was about, about 1.30 p.m. And my friend lives 45 minutes away. I walked up to the escape to see what he was doing there,
Starting point is 01:24:16 and no one was in the car. I looked around and realized that I didn't see the Jeep. So I took the keys out of my pocket to hit the lock button, to make it make sounds to see where it was. And I pulled out the keys to the escape, which would have been impossible, because my boyfriend took the escape to work,
Starting point is 01:24:40 and we only have one set of keys for that car. I put the keys back in my pocket to run inside and ask my friend what car I pulled up in. She looked at me like I lost my mind and said that I pulled up in the Jeep. I told her that the escape was in the driveway, and not the Jeep. We went outside so that I could show her, and the Jeep was back, and the escape was gone. She saw how freaked out I was, and we went to look at the security cameras from right before I pulled in,
Starting point is 01:25:14 to where my friend and I walked out of her house, and the camera wasn't working, which she claims has never happened. We sat outside till I left, because if it was going to happen again, I wanted to see it happen. I ended up leaving an hour or so later, but I honestly was nervous to get in the car, because I literally thought it was going to glitch out again, and I would end up somewhere that I don't want to be. This was one of the weirdest things I've had happened to me, and I wouldn't believe it if it hadn't happened to me.
Starting point is 01:25:51 Has anyone had something like this happened to them before? I wanted to share a really strange thing that happened in my home that left my son and I in a state of confusion. He's a slight bit young to understand things like glitches in the Matrix, but even he knew that it was weird, because he very enthusiastically said so when all was said and done. Me, on the other hand, I know that something really strange happened in our timeline,
Starting point is 01:26:33 or reality, or whatever, and I have zero explanation for it. My partner works the graveyard shift, and she leaves for her job around 9 p.m. when we put our son to bed during the week. But on this night, he was off school the next day, so we let him stay up later. We saw my partner off, and my son and I went to play some Mario Kart. After him kicking my butt in Star Cup for half an hour, we heard the distinct sound of keys jingling and unlocking our front door,
Starting point is 01:27:09 followed by the unique shuffle of my partner's walk. Intrigued we paused the game, and I got up to step out into the hallway, ensuring that it was indeed her returning early from work. I was a bit surprised to see her, but also glad that it was just her coming back early, and not someone breaking in or something. She acknowledged me, mentioned that she'd forgotten her lunch, and then on the way through to the kitchen she passed by our house, son. She waved, saying,
Starting point is 01:27:42 Hey, bud, keep kicking her butt for me, okay? Open the fridge, grabbed her lunchbox, and then walked back out without saying much more. After a few more games of Mario Kart and losing to him non-stop, I decided that it was probably time to call it a night. Pretty well reassured that I'll never beat my 10-year-old at Rainbow Road. All was fine until the next morning made things really confusing. My partner had gotten home that morning around the same time that I had woken up. I had made breakfast for us, and then made a comment about Mario Kart, and said that our son had indeed kicked my butt, like she requested.
Starting point is 01:28:26 When I said that, she had a puzzled look on her face and asked, Did I say something about that before I left for work? I laughed and said, no, you made the comment when you came back to get your lunch. This made things even more confusing. She said that she never came home after she left, that she didn't even take her lunch because her boss was going to have pizza delivered for them that day. Eager to prove her wrong,
Starting point is 01:28:58 I called our son who had just gotten out of bed and asked him about the night prior. He mentioned that he remembers her coming home to get her lunch as well. She was adamant that she never came home for lunch. That her lunchbox with the sandwich that she had made and originally planned to bring was still in the fridge. Sure enough, she was right. As our last stand to prove that we weren't going crazy, I checked our camera's footage during the time when she would have come home and left. But it actually did the opposite.
Starting point is 01:29:34 We watched the footage on my phone, and there was no point at all up until that morning that showed her walking up to the door or coming home. Her car left at the normal time and didn't come back until the morning. My son and I were dumbstruck, unable to deny that we both remembered something that seemingly never happened,
Starting point is 01:29:59 that we both saw my partner come home about an hour or so after leaving. How would we both seen this when there was no, physical proof that it actually happened, and she states that she never came home. The whole thing is actually kind of haunting, because who had we seen? Who had we talked to? Was this my partner from a different timeline? Or had my son and I shifted or something? Regardless of any possible explanations, the inexplicable encounter with a copy of my partner that came home but seemingly never existed is something that's been deeply imprinted on my mind.
Starting point is 01:30:54 Okay, so I'm making this post after telling people of my original experience, where did I go? Which is the story in this video prior to this story. I really didn't want to explain this one, because I felt like it would just make my other experience less believable, but, It really does bother me. This is one of the only two strange experiences I've ever had. I explained how I had an experience in the Midwest. This also took place in the Midwest. This time, I was diverted on some obvious road construction around a town of about 10,000 people.
Starting point is 01:31:40 So I took the detour. It was around 11 or 12 at night. night. I just kept driving wherever the marker sent me. Anyone who has experienced road construction in the Midwest knows how this is. Random
Starting point is 01:31:56 markers telling you to go every which way. I get how anyone could get lost. So, I was just going along the road signs. Somehow I must have gotten mixed up. I ended up on this giant bridge.
Starting point is 01:32:12 Nothing on top, just a road above everything. I looked down and I saw lots of lights, like it was some sort of industrial area. But there were no people, at all. I didn't think it was too strange at the time. I thought maybe I was just driving over a power plant or something like that. But then, I got to the end of the bridge and I didn't see any more signs. It was a town.
Starting point is 01:32:42 but it looked run down but not extremely old. I kind of wanted to stop and maybe ask someone where to go to get back onto the highway. There was no activity at all, though. I pulled into this parking lot and the building looked like it hadn't been touched in ten or more years. I was kind of hoping that someone would drive by. It was super eerie. There was literally no one. No cars, nothing.
Starting point is 01:33:15 It felt really strange. Even late at night, I'd figure that I would see a light somewhere. I kept looking around, but everything was dark. All the buildings looked like they hadn't been touched in 10 or 20 years. I got a really bad feeling like I was not supposed to be here. Towns close down. I get it, but they are not supposed to look like this. This was around 2012, and those buildings looked like they hadn't been touched since the 90s.
Starting point is 01:33:49 I decided I should just go, retrace my steps, and maybe get back to where I was. I went back across the huge bridge, and after I made it across the bridge, I turned off and then saw the detour signs again. I was so relieved, I made it back on the highway. When I went back home, I was visiting my parents for a few days. I tried to find where the hell I was at. I could never find that place again. There was no giant bridge, no town that looked 20 years old and abandoned. I've searched and driven through the area multiple times.
Starting point is 01:34:30 It doesn't exist. And it bothers me. P.S. This is the second and only one of two. odd experiences I've had. Again, I've never done drugs, I have no history of mental illness, and I don't drink and drive. I have no other strange experiences beyond these two, and I'll answer any questions that I can. And at it, I truly do believe that this was some sort of glitch in the matrix, and it makes sense to me to post it here. It was December of 1992, when I was
Starting point is 01:35:16 22 years old. A large group of friends and friends of friends, about 15 of us, decided to go Christmas shopping. There's a large shopping center about 10 miles away that has every kind of shop in it. So, we hired a minibus taxi and off we went. We got dropped off at the metro train that takes you directly to the shopping center. being close to Christmas, it was incredibly busy. There was a long queue at the ticket counter, so we decided to go to the self-service ticket machine, where the queue was a bit smaller.
Starting point is 01:35:56 It was noisy. People were everywhere, and metro trains were coming and going with people getting on and off, with bags of Christmas presents. We were laughing, chatting, and helping each other with the right money for the machine. when it was my turn, I put my money in and collected my tickets, as it dispensed from the bottom of the machine. As I looked up again, ticket in hand, I was alone. There was absolutely nobody around. No noise, just one empty metro train sitting at the platform.
Starting point is 01:36:33 I was shocked, confused, and scared. I had no idea what to do. I just stood there looking around with growing panic, and then a man in a metro uniform came walking out of the office. I looked at him, and he must have noticed my expression, because he walked straight towards me. He asked if everything was okay. I just said that I can't find my friends.
Starting point is 01:37:00 They were here, and I don't know where they went. He smiled and asked, Is that them? And he turned, slightly indicating with his hand. In that moment, the platform was crowded again, and my friends were right there, two steps away from me. I looked at them in shock and then turned back to the man, but he had walked away.
Starting point is 01:37:25 I walked over to my best friend and asked where everyone went. She just looked at me confused and said, What do you mean? We've been standing here. I then said, but all the other people went too. I was on my own. She just asked if I was okay because the platform had been crowded the entire time. I didn't say anything else to anyone, but I've thought about this so often over the years. The whole incident only lasted about a minute or two.
Starting point is 01:38:07 This happened over 30 years ago and is something I have spoken about only to people that I trust. I've never been able to explain it. I was in college in New York, and my best friend came to visit me. I suggested that we go to a museum that I had to visit for a class assignment, and he was game to go. We set out to the subway, but we were arguing with each other. It was so silly, but serious, that I got into one subway car and he got into the car next to the one I got into. The door closed, and I was still mad at him. But I thought about how silly it was to get mad at my friend who'd come all the way to spend time with me.
Starting point is 01:38:55 Neither of us were sitting in our cars, but standing holding on to the metal poles that are independent of the chairs. I looked through the window, between the cars, as I was lamenting my behavior, and I saw him looking back at me. I remember thinking that when the car stopped, I was going to be. to hop out of my car and go over to his and apologize. The train came to the next station seconds later, but I was feeling too proud to apologize first. So the doors closed, and I decided I would wait for the next station. I looked into the other car, and again he was looking at me, annoyed still.
Starting point is 01:39:41 However, I did record in my mind that he was dressed differently. This was the start of thinking that something was up. Prior to this, I'd only had one or two time-slip experiences that were way less elaborate than this. The train stopped, and this time my heart was racing as I jumped out and rushed over to his car to see whether he was in it. I recall a few people in the other car looking at me strangely, and needless to say, the experience was with, way, way, way too strange for me to continue to the museum. And I took the train back home. My mind was racing with, what did I just experience?
Starting point is 01:40:28 When I got home, I was so antsy and weirded out by what I experienced. I just sat out on the porch. An hour later, my friend was casually walking down the street towards me. He was wearing what I recalled him wearing when we first parted and stepped on. to the train. I ran up to him and hugged him super tightly and started to get really hysterical. I just kept hugging him and pelting questions at him. Where were you? What happened? Did you get on to the train? He looked at me very surprised, telling me that when I hopped on the train, he decided that he was not going to go and just never got on to that train.
Starting point is 01:41:15 I told him that I saw him as plain as day on the train, and I explained what he was wearing. We didn't say much more about it after that. He died six months later. I would experience something else with him before his passing, and I really appreciate this place to write this experience because it must be recorded. I run a custom trim shop slash hardwood lumberyard. Both glitches involve long-time crime. customers, guys who I know on site.
Starting point is 01:41:59 The first time it happened was around 2010. We had a few contractors who did enough business with us that they had accounts. They could just sign for material rather than the usual payment on delivery model. I'm not saying all contractors are shady, but there are a lot of fly-by-night guys who say they'll pay when the job is done, but you never hear from them again. I get that not everyone has the capital to lay out for material, but I've been burned enough to know the difference between an established business and the cash on delivery guys. Anyway, we'll call this customer Mr. C. One day, Mr. C comes in and his left hand is heavily bandaged.
Starting point is 01:42:47 Obviously, I ask what happened. Mr. C was cutting a piece of plywood on a table saw by himself. halfway through, it started to fall off the table. He put his hand down to push it back on to the table, and he sliced the top of his middle finger, half of his ring finger, and all of his pinky finger off. We talked about it and agreed how table saws are the most dangerous tools.
Starting point is 01:43:17 I actually know more guys who've been injured from nail guns, but I was being sympathetic. Anyway, I didn't see Mr. C for five or six weeks. I saw he had an order ready for pickup one day, and I made sure that I was in the shop. I wanted to say hi and check on how he was holding up after his accident. When I walked up to the loading dock, Mr. C and one of our employees were loading red oak baseboards into his box van.
Starting point is 01:43:49 Mr. C was using both hands, both fully fingered hands. I didn't say anything. I just helped them load the material into the van and made sure the paperwork was in order. After he pulled out, I said something to my employee about how I thought Mr. C had cut his fingers
Starting point is 01:44:10 from his left hand. My employee just looked at me weird and said he didn't know what I was talking about. This employee knew about Mr. C. accident. He was there the day Mr. C showed up in bandages. I know that we discussed it, and nail guns. No one in the shop knew what I was talking about, so I let it go. Mr. C. officially retired a few years ago with all of his fingers. My second glitch actually had a witness. July of 2018, I was eating lunch in the break room with one of our older employees.
Starting point is 01:44:51 We weren't talking, just eating our microwaved leftovers and staring at our phones. He grunts and says, Oh, Mr. Kay died. I was taken aback and he shows me the obituary. Mr. Kay had been killed in an automobile accident the previous weekend. Arrangements were scheduled at the local funeral home on Friday. I felt bad that I couldn't go to the calling hours. Mr. Kay had been a friend of my grandpaws.
Starting point is 01:45:23 They were both carpenters. My kid had friends coming for a sleepover that night, and I wasn't going to cancel it to go to calling hours for a guy that I really didn't know. My dad was going anyway, so our family was still represented. Fast forward to January of 2019, that same employee walks into the office and says he has a customer that requires my assistant. That's our usual code for
Starting point is 01:45:53 Here's a Karen that we don't want to deal with. I walk out to the warehouse and standing there is Mr. K. Longtime employee walks behind Mr. K, looking at me with his eyebrows raised so high that they're disappearing into his ball cap. I was stunned. I greeted him, shook his hand. I asked him how he'd been doing.
Starting point is 01:46:18 He said he's been fine. We found the couple of boards that he needed for his project. He paid and was on his way. As he was pulling out, our employee said, I swear, I thought he was dead. Amazed that I wasn't the only one this time, I agreed. We talked for a while about how we both remember reading the obituary. I went back to the office and called my dad.
Starting point is 01:46:47 I asked him if Mr. was alive. He said that he hadn't heard otherwise. My dad didn't remember going to a funeral. I've only talked to my employee about it one other time. We just chalked it up to an oddity. But it still weirds me out. This happened a long time ago. I didn't know about this sub, so I had nowhere to talk about it. I'm glad I get to tell this story now, as It's pretty mundane, but weird enough to me that I'll never forget it. My friend and I took a trip to a nearby city and stopped at a gas station to grab something to drink and use the restrooms. He went in first.
Starting point is 01:47:45 While he was in there, I picked out my drink. I noticed pineapple fanta. I hadn't tried it before, but it sounded interesting, so I decided to give it a shot. I know that I didn't just grab the wrong one by mistake either. I had to look closely to check the caffeine content of it, as I was trying to limit that at the time. When he got out, I handed him my drink and my debit card so he could get whatever he wanted and meet me in the car.
Starting point is 01:48:19 It's important to mention that I'm fairly certain he would never do this as a prank or joke. We were really close at the time. but even outside of that, he wasn't ever known to do stuff like that. Messing with people never seemed to impress him much. It was also only the two of us anyways. So it's not like he could laugh about it with someone else. We drive somewhere else and start eating. I reach into the bag and grab our drinks,
Starting point is 01:48:52 and somehow my pineapple fanta is now orange fanta. I said something along the line of, was there something wrong with the pineapple one? I know that's what I handed to you. He looked at the bottle and looked at me confused, and he said that he knew it was pineapple before, too. He was actually going to ask me how it was, since it was kind of an unusual flavor.
Starting point is 01:49:19 It really weirded us out for the rest of the day. I know I wouldn't have grabbed an orange one, even if I decided I wanted orange soda instead. I've always thought that Orange Fanta was the worst orange soda, and definitely would have gotten Sun Kist or Fago instead. The only thing we've ever been able to come up with is that the cashier accidentally switched it out. But that makes us ask more questions than it answers.
Starting point is 01:49:52 Why would she have one up at the counter? Why would it be nearby enough for her to accidentally grab the wrong one? She clearly wasn't drinking it. It was still sealed and cold. The whole thing reminds me of when variables and software mess up, and it reverts to something to a default value. Orange Fanta would certainly be the default Fanta if there was one. Maybe the simulation's code got mixed up in there somewhere.
Starting point is 01:50:32 The more I think of it. about this, the more I think it's strange. This happened during COVID in Melbourne, where we had strict rules, and my workplace had us taking rapid tests intense before we started the shift. So I start work at 2 p.m. and I leave usually just after one. This particular day I had done my errands before work, made dinner for the family, done laundry, etc. I had some lunch around 12, and then I jumped on the PlayStation to see if I could do the next mission of the game than I was playing. Against to around one, I clearly remember seeing 1253. Well, crap, I better get ready.
Starting point is 01:51:19 I have a shower and get dressed and leave for work. I listen to the 130 news on the radio while on the drive to work. It's all regular. Nothing out of the ordinary. I arrive for work. And it seems oddly quiet. I found a car parked downstairs, which is uncommon, and there's no line for the tent to do the rapid test. Even the ladies running look surprised that I have arrived there for some reason,
Starting point is 01:51:48 and said something like, back again? Which I took as, yeah, for another day. I went in the tent and have to wait for ten minutes for the test results, and a furious storm comes out of nowhere. It was so windy and raining so hard. I just looked at my phone, and it said 247. I was thinking, it can't be. My phone has to be glitching out.
Starting point is 01:52:17 I finish up the test and go to clock into work, and, yeah, it was nearly 3 p.m. I was baffled. How did I do this? I never lose track of time, and yet the weirdest thing was that no. No one asked me once why I was late or what I was doing for that first hour of my day. I still to this day think about how I lost an hour. More bizarre, less creepy story, but one that still lingers in the back of my mind to this day. It was only two years ago, so it's still a pretty fresh memory.
Starting point is 01:53:06 I was taking a walk around my neighborhood because the weather was nice and decided it would be nice to get a little cardio in. So, I left my house at about one in the afternoon and made my way to the local high school. I decided I would walk to the campus, then double back and head home. It's a decent distance away, so going to and from was ideal for a walk.
Starting point is 01:53:34 After about 20 minutes, I was a block away from the campus and could view the top of the building, from where I was. There I was at almost the corner closest to the school, a block away. At that corner, a black slim car turned the corner, past me, and drove down the street. However, I'm a very anxious and bored person, so the minute I noticed people, of course, I would be interested in the micro journey than I was witnessing.
Starting point is 01:54:06 In other words, I turned my head to watch the car after only a few seconds of it turning the corner. The car was gone. Completely vanished. Note that I'm still at the far corner of a city block, which means that there should still be a good 20 seconds or so, before the car can even turn again. Not to mention, why would the car turn? If it wanted to go to my right instead of my left, it could just keep driving straight.
Starting point is 01:54:40 Sure, he could just have a house on that side of the block, but I felt it a worthy thing to mention. Puzzled, I stood there for a few seconds before turning back around and continuing forward. Another strange thing caught my eye then, an old woman watering her garden off to my right. Okay, cool, I wasn't the only witness. However, I shook my head and just assumed,
Starting point is 01:55:06 that all of that was just a coincidence. I looked straight ahead again, towards the school, only for that same car to be turning right in front of me again, passing me, again, vanishing, again, once my eyes had followed suit as it left my immediate vision. Now it was weird. The same black car had turned the same corner and vanished behind me for a split few seconds,
Starting point is 01:55:36 it wasn't in the view twice now. It was such an anomaly. I had never witnessed things like this before, and I haven't since. But some things to note, there's no way that it's an optical illusion where the car just barely manages to look like it's vanished by hiding behind another car closer in view. The city block was stretched far enough
Starting point is 01:56:01 that I could still see anything in the road. Not to mention, there were no problem. parked cars in the street immediately to my side. Of course, there were a few sprinkled about, but nothing directly next to me. It was not a dream. I'm just reviewing as a memory on accident. The amount of detail is too much for someone like me who constantly forgets dreams. I was not deep in thought, nor listening to music, just going with the flow of my walk.
Starting point is 01:56:34 I was focusing more on the heat than anything. else. That means there's no way the time just passed a lot faster than I thought, unless I was just really intensely paying attention to the sky or the school. There's no room to explain that. I wasn't exactly paying attention to the noises around me, and I have no recollection of car engines. Sorry. So, any thoughts? I wrote about my friend on the train, and I mentioned that he died six months later. Before he died, he was someone who used to write his name and address
Starting point is 01:57:22 just randomly on things belonging to him or in my journal or sketchbooks. I used to ask him why he did it, what Mark he was trying to hold on to. He was an identical twin. His brother was slightly taller than he was. He would tell me all the time
Starting point is 01:57:43 that he suspected that he was not going to live very long. He died at the age of 24. He was murdered by his older brother in a senseless argument where his brother stabbed him once in the chest. I was abroad at school at the time of the incident. He had called my parents for help moments before he died, and that also makes the whole thing even more tragic. Everything surrounding my friend those last few months had been extremely unusual. When I was home for summer vacation, before I went back to school, three months before his death, we walked about 15 to 20 miles together, talking about everything under the sun.
Starting point is 01:58:31 His family and mine were amazed that we did it. When I went back to school, he would call me on the phone and say nothing at all. And then we would hang up feeling as though we had a very long conversation. There was one point where, during one of these calls, he said how crazy it was that we were just listening to each other say nothing on the other end of the phone. We also wrote each other a lot. This was all pre-email days. I used to do ballet, so he and I would walk to my classes and talk and then he would walk home. After he died, I got a card in the mail from him.
Starting point is 01:59:15 He drew me sitting on the park bench that we would be happily chatting away on, but the image showed me sitting there with a portrait of him in a frame. His hunch was right, it seems. It was as though he always knew when he was going to die. This is pretty lame, but it's been circling my brain all morning, and it's on theme for the subs, so here goes. My husband and I went to Home Depot for a couple of things. We went in through the garden department as I needed a new pot for a plant.
Starting point is 02:00:03 We picked out the pot, and we're about to head inside, and I said, let's come back out and pay out here so I can get a bag of dirt, too. Since we didn't have a cart, and the pot was kind of big, my husband says, I'm going to leave this out here and we'll just grab it, when we come back out. So, he sets it down in an out-of-the-way spot near the door that goes from the garden section into the store. We picked up the rest of the stuff that we needed,
Starting point is 02:00:36 and I decided to make a quick trip to the restroom before leaving. The husband says he'll go back to the garden, get the dirt, and pay. When I came out the door back into the garden, and I saw the pot still sitting in the spot that we left it. My husband has ADHD, so this is not at all unexpected. I grabbed it and hustled towards the checkout where he is in line. About halfway there, I saw that he had grabbed a cart, and the pot was in the cart. I figured he came out a different door and grabbed the same pot from the display area
Starting point is 02:01:16 rather than the one that we set aside for whatever reason. So I took the pot that I'd picked up from our stashed spot and ran it back over to the display to put it back. I didn't really think anything of it until later last night when I mentioned it for some reason. He was like, what are you talking about? I picked the pot up from where we left it. I said,
Starting point is 02:01:44 and, hmm, that's weird because so did I. So we must have picked up two nested together and not noticed. He then said, no, I know for a fact that there was not another pot there because I didn't pick it up. I kind of kicked it into the cart to see if I could, which is totally something he would do. So I couldn't have done that with nested pots without noticing. We confirmed with each other. the spot that we'd left it, and the spot that we each picked it up from, and we were definitely on the same page.
Starting point is 02:02:22 The only reasonable explanation we can think of is that someone else at Home Depot would have had to pick out the same pot from the display area, halfway across the garden department, and left it in the exact random spot in the three to four minute time span between my husband picking up hours and me coming out of the restroom. Granted, the odds of that happening are higher than the odds of a pot magically appearing, but the whole situation was really weird and random.
