Starting point is 00:00:00 I've been aboard of Vyaray. Embarked and profite. Embarked and relaxe. Syrotay. Bukine. Oh, that also. And profite. Villaray, the voice that we love. I have a weird story that I wanted to share because it was bizarre and legitimately gave me the chills. I have a dog that is my baby. She's a German shepherd and her. Her name is Bailey. She's been my baby for her whole life, and she's going on six this year. She's always been a fantastic dog, and I love her dearly.
Starting point is 00:00:42 She's the kind of dog that is at the front door waiting for me every single day. So, on one sunny afternoon a couple of weeks ago, I decided to take her to this park near my place. Now, it's not a dog park, and it's definitely. Definitely not one of those parks where you're supposed to let your dogs off the leash. But it's typically pretty empty, and, well, she needs her exercise. So, when we gets to the park, I go to one of the side areas where there's no one else, and I let Bailey off her leash so that she could run around. Typically, she'll do a quick circle around the fields, and then rock back to me.
Starting point is 00:01:27 And from there, we walk around and play fetch and such. That's what happened on this visit. And clipped her, she took off. She did a couple of laps and then ran back to me looking up expectantly. I got her ball out of my backpack, and as soon as she saw it, she sat down next to me and looked forward with her bright and excited stare. We do a bit of back and forth. I toss the ball, Bailey runs and gets it and brings it right back,
Starting point is 00:01:55 and then sits down to do it all again. After about five minutes of this, I toss the ball across the field and she darts off. And as I'm watching her, my attention is pulled away by someone shouting, Excuse me, sir? I turn away from watching her run after the ball and immediately see a police officer walking towards me. My heart sank, and my initial thought was, great, there goes my afternoon. I'd actually been cited at this park before, and while nothing really came of it, I couldn't imagine that a second citation would be good.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Again, this wasn't an off-leash park, and here I was letting her run aimlessly. Much to my relief, he smiled warmly and gave me a friendly wave. So I assumed the worst I would get was just a warning, it was fine. Most cops there that saw dogs wouldn't really care, but some were jerks. He approached closer and said, That's a gorgeous dog. A German Shepherd? I grinned and responded with, yeah, pure bread.
Starting point is 00:03:10 I've had her since she was just a pup. As I made this comment, Bailey trotted back to me with a ball in her mouth, and when I reached down to grab it, she laid down, which told me that she needed a short break. I patted her, told her she was a good girl, and started telling the officer that she was the daughter of my mom's two shepherds. But when I turned and looked up to where the officer was standing less than five seconds prior, he was gone. He'd completely disappeared, as if he had never been there at all. I stood up abruptly and scanned the area in disbelief.
Starting point is 00:03:48 Maybe he got a call on the radio that I hadn't heard or something. but when I turned to look around I was surprised to see that the park was completely devoid of any and all human presence other than myself it was as if the officer had been swallowed up by the earth itself either that or he was the flash and took off without me realizing it when I noticed he had disappeared I seriously started to feel a cold massive chilled on my spine
Starting point is 00:04:21 tingling sensations in my hand. It was as if the officer walked up, I had responded to him, and then he just ceased to exist. Strangely enough, as I was getting hit with this anxiety, Bailey seemed to be feeling the same thing, as she sat up and seemed like she was starting to feel uncomfortable. I don't know if that was just her picking up on how I was feeling,
Starting point is 00:04:48 or if she had sensed the situation. but she seemed like she was starting to feel the same as I was. Deciding it was time to just go ahead and leave, I clipped Bailey's leash back on and headed for the car. For some reason, being out there just felt strange after that. Like whatever had just happened wasn't supposed to, and I wasn't supposed to notice it. It was seriously unsettling,
Starting point is 00:05:19 and almost felt like it shouldn't have been. Like, yeah, it was weird and a bit creepy, but it was such a simple event that was causing me so much intense anxiety. But that was what happened. I never saw the officer again, and we still go every other few days. I don't know if I hallucinated the officer, or something like that. Though if I did, that was one hell of a hallucination. I honestly think this was some really strange and messed up glitch that I experienced. A simple event that just really messed with me after the fact.
Starting point is 00:05:59 I just want to say that I found your podcast a few months ago and I can't stop listening. Thank you for telling these stories and giving people a place to connect. Keep up the good work, Raven. Thank you. I'm not really sure what category this would fall into, as I don't know what really happened. I've also never told anyone, so I'm going to try my best to get this out,
Starting point is 00:06:37 in a coherent manner. Here's some backstory. I worked at a restaurant back in 2004, when I was about 19. It was 25 minutes away from my house, which was in another town. Now, I live in a smallish town in southeast Texas, so it's not uncommon to work in one and live in another adjacent town.
Starting point is 00:07:03 This being the case, there was really only one way there and back, so I drove in the same dark stretch of road every night. Also noteworthy is the fact that this is a road between two small towns, and it was late. So it wasn't very common to see other cars at this time, though it did happen. This particular night, I was leaving work as usual after hanging out for a while after my shift. It's a server thing. We never go home right after work. I was completely sober, not overly tired as I hadn't even worked a double shift that day, and overall I felt pretty clear-headed, even though it was around 11 p.m.
Starting point is 00:07:50 I was a bit of a night owl back then. and now I do have to admit that I drove this exact stretch of road for years, and sometimes I would zone out for lack of a better term. I wasn't unsafe. It's just like, you know when you're driving and then realize, wow, I don't remember driving for a second. Yeah, it's pretty unsafe, I guess, but I don't know how else to explain it. Regardless, I know that I hadn't zoned out this time.
Starting point is 00:08:21 I'm very aware of my actions before and after what I'm about to tell you. Anyway, I'm in the middle of the only large curve this road has between the restaurant and the entrance to my neighborhood. It's an otherwise pretty straight shot, except this curve that goes to the right. I remember looking down to change the radio station. I know, I know, keep my eyes in the road, especially during a curve. when I had this overwhelming feeling to look to my left out the window. Remember, my car is leaning right, I'm going towards the right in this curve. It was such a fleeting feeling, but at the same time it felt like time had slowed down, if that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Mind you, this is a dark stretch of road, with nothing but trees on the left side, and I knew this. I've driven it hundreds of times. I know that I can't see anything to my left on this part of the road specifically, aside from moonlight-type shadows. So, almost as if involuntarily, I turned my head to the left. And there was me. Just there in the road, right next to my driver's side window. In the moment, it was sort of.
Starting point is 00:09:45 so fast. I mean, let's be honest, there are no other cars I'm trying to get home. Yeah, I was definitely speeding. But time seemed to slow down for a split second. Like I was watching a scene somehow. I was there next to my window and time stopped for a second, or at least thinking back about it, it felt like it had. The other me was there looking right at me.
Starting point is 00:10:15 No expression, no, nothing. The scariest part to me was that she was wearing exactly what I had on that day, right down to my server apron that I still hadn't taken off. Had the same clothes, the same hair, the same black-rimmed glasses? I don't mean that I was seeing my reflection in the window. I mean there was a person who looked exactly like me, standing in the road, facing my car looking down into my... my window.
Starting point is 00:10:47 Like, my reflection would have shown my hand on the wheel, but hers were down by her side. Trust me, for a long time, I tried to convince myself that I was just seeing my reflection. It felt like an eternity that I was locked eyes with her, or me, but it was literally a fraction of a second. Like I said, I was definitely speeding, and I didn't hit the brakes when this happened. It was just as fast as any other time you looked to the left or right while driving. Now, as I mentioned, there aren't many other cars on the road this late at night. But just as I looked back towards the road, very, very shaken, I might add,
Starting point is 00:11:33 there was a car coming my way in the curve. Yes, I'm still in the curve. That's how fast all this happened. This car had crossed over the middle turn lane and was drifting into my curve. lane. I had looked up at the exact right time to be able to swerve out of its way, while it continued across the double lines and then correcting itself after I was past it. So, was this me warning myself? Was I seeing a me from a different timeline, possibly after crashing with the other car? Almost 20 years have passed, and I cannot get this out of my head.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Did I die that night and jump into another timeline? I got married and had kids not long after this happened, and I don't live near either town anymore. I haven't driven that stretch of road in almost 17 years now, and honestly it scares me a little bit to think about it now. I had no idea what glitches or any of this was back then, and the more I go down these rabbit holes, the more that night is just a mystery to me.
Starting point is 00:12:45 So if anyone has an idea, feel free. Also, like I said, I've never told anyone or written this out, so if I left anything out, I apologize. And I hope it's not too confusing. But thank you for reading. I had a life-changing glitch in the Matrix happened to me back in the late 90s. Though, at the time, I had no idea what a glitch in the Matrix was. and I had to just accept that this event was something beyond my understanding. At the time, I thought I had witnessed some kind of real-time act of God,
Starting point is 00:13:35 and maybe that's what it was, or that's what glitches are, but this was something that messed with my mind for a long time after it happened. Maybe someone else will have an answer for whether this was a glitch or some kind of mental phenomenon, or maybe I'll just be told that I'm actually crazy. Who knows? There was nothing about the day that made me think anything was out of the ordinary, or that anything would happen. It started out normal enough, and I didn't have any weird feelings about anything.
Starting point is 00:14:09 At this point, I didn't have a car and was still living with my parents because I was 17. It was also during the summer, so I was home by myself all day with the only exception being when I would walk to my friend's house, or to the local convenience store for soda, or something like that, which is exactly what I decided to do on this day. On the way to the store, there is one intersection that is a four-way stop, complete with the overhead blinking red light that indicates that you're supposed to stop and wait. However, for some reason unknown to me, people like to completely ignore the lights and just fly through the intersection,
Starting point is 00:14:53 without making sure that there's nobody else on the road. What's worse is that during the nicer weather seasons, it can be a pretty busy crossing. You get a lot of people out for a walk or a run crossing it because it's close to a park. The glitch actually happened when I was walking to the store and at this specific intersection. I'm typically pretty careful about crossing here
Starting point is 00:15:19 for the reasons I mentioned above. and when I went to cross the road, I was certain that there were no cars coming from any direction. I looked both left and right, and then up and down the street to make certain that it was safe to cross. Once I was satisfied that I could cross safely, I stepped into the crosswalk. No sooner than I step into the crosswalk
Starting point is 00:15:44 to I hear somebody shout, Watch out! In my direction. This was also the exact moment. where things got really, really strange for me. I hear the person yell, watch out. I turned to look in the direction that I think the voice came from, but there was nobody there.
Starting point is 00:16:03 In fact, there was no one around me at all. It was actually pretty dead on the intersection that day. As I turned to look for whoever shouted that, I look and see a car flying down the road in my direction. He was going too fast, and it seemed like he wasn't paying enough attention to the intersection, much like a lot of the idiots who drove through there did. Again, I know for a fact there were no cars coming at me from any direction.
Starting point is 00:16:33 I checked. The road is incredibly flat, you can see in all directions for a good distance. Much more distance than what you would need to be able to react to a car heading in your direction, and there were zero cars at all on the road that I could see when I started, crossing. Yet, here I was, standing in the middle of the road and staring at a car being driven by some punk that was blowing through the light, and not paying attention, and was pretty much on a collision course with me. What's really weird, though, is how everything kind of felt like it was in slow motion. I say that he was speeding down the road, and I knew he was,
Starting point is 00:17:15 but it was also like everything had slowed down, and I was seeing it play out at 10% speed. speed. I was standing there, this car zooming towards me, but I was seeing it play out at a much slower pace. I had enough time to stand there and notice all the details about his car. It was a small Ford sedan, four doors. I saw a dent in the hood, the peeling paint on the roof. I saw that one of his wheels was missing a hubcap, and I could even see the driver of the car as he just stared blankly at the road in front of him. But yet, he wasn't reacting to me in the road. I have no idea why I didn't try to move or get out of the way of this car.
Starting point is 00:18:01 It was almost like I couldn't, or like I wasn't supposed to. Then, at the exact second that the collision would have happened, I instinctively cringed and closed my eyes and basically braced myself for what would likely kill me. But then, nothing happened. And when I opened my eyes, it was as if I had just blinked and was back on the sidewalk. I wasn't braced for impact anymore. I wasn't feeling scared. I was just on one of the sides of the intersection about to cross to the other, where the convenience store was.
Starting point is 00:18:39 The big difference when I came back to was that there were a number of people walking around on the sidewalk. and there were cars driving on the road, all stopping normally and respecting the four-way stop. It took me a moment to really recollect what had happened, but as I was crossing the road, it reclicked that I should have been hit by that car. I should have been dead, and I have no idea how everything had reset. So that's my glitch experience. I have no idea what the hell happened other than,
Starting point is 00:19:15 than I didn't die, I reset and nothing else changed. I'm not sure if this was quantum immortality, or if this was something else. But it messed me up mentally once it all set in. Since that day, I've been way more appreciative of every day of my life, which may sound stupid or weird to some, but part of me feels like this could have been a second chance. And I'm not one to take a blessing like that
Starting point is 00:19:45 for granted. Like I said, I have no idea if this was some kind of guardian angel, or a deity of some sort, saving my life by resetting me, or if I just shifted from one existence to another, but nothing else really changed, so I don't know. It was crazy to me, and I know that I sound crazy trying to retell this event, but I also feel it's best to just get it out there. Hopefully someone has answers. If not, hopefully someone enjoys it. Book your seat at westjet.com or call your travel agent. WestJet, where your story takes off. I have a frustrating and confusing thing that happened to me that I'm calling a glitch,
Starting point is 00:21:20 mostly because I have no other word for it. I'm obviously confused about what the hell it was, what happened, and how it happened, but I've come to accept that things are weird in our world, and sometimes there just are no answers. So I was getting ready for work in the morning one day, and I could not, for the life of me, find my car key. My car has a push-to-start button, and the key doesn't actually have a key, so it's just a fob. The keys are always connected to my key ring, which has my house key, and my little RFC thing to get into my office at work. I also have a fun little key chain too, but other than that, it's always just those four things attached to a single ring. This way, I never lose any of them
Starting point is 00:22:14 because they never come off. For some reason, when I went to head to work that morning, my car key was not on the ring. The keychain was there, the house key was there, the RFC thing was there for work, but the car key was just gone. I was annoyed, but I thought that maybe the plastic that held it on to the ring had broken. Like maybe it just fell off somewhere in the house, and I would find it soon. Thankfully, I have a spare that I keep in the junk drawer in the kitchen. So I went and grabbed it and headed off. to work. One thing to note about the one that I keep in the junk drawer is that it is broken.
Starting point is 00:23:00 I don't remember how it broke, but part of the housing on the bottom corner is broken off, so I have a small strip of duct tape wrapped around it to keep it from coming apart or getting worse. I grabbed it and just headed to work thinking I would eventually locate my good fob, or else I was going to have to go and get a new one, which was not ideal. The whole day, I was trying to figure out what I could have done with the old fob, or where I could have dropped it. Like I mentioned, the car is a push to start,
Starting point is 00:23:37 so in order to drive it literally anywhere, you have to have the fob in the car. If you start the car and remove the fob, it starts beeping loudly at you and saying that the key is, not in the car. Plus, if you turn the car off and then try to turn it back on without the fob being in the car, it will
Starting point is 00:23:57 not turn the engine over, and you cannot shift out of park. On top of this, if the key is in the car, you can't lock the doors. If you try to use the second remote to lock the car with the fob in the car,
Starting point is 00:24:13 the doors immediately unlock. Basically, this car was designed so that you could not leave the key fob behind, and you could not leave it in the car. So, because of this, I knew that I couldn't have left it at the office, and I couldn't have lost it at the Wendy's where I had my dinner the night before, and there was no way that it was in my car as the car was locked overnight. It had to either be in the front yard between my car and the front door, or somewhere in the
Starting point is 00:24:48 house. That was my final deduction. I put it off my mind and just decided that I would worry about it whenever I got back. When I did get home, I looked all over the front yard for the fob, and it's not like it's a big yard. I then looked all over my house where the fob could be in several places that it couldn't be, and of course it was in none of them. I was so confused and lost. It made no sense how it could just up and disappear like this. Even if the plastic broke, because it would have had to have been somewhere here at home. I played over every second of the last two days when I went to bed,
Starting point is 00:25:33 just trying to think of the last time that I saw it, and I was certain that I saw it when I walked in because I typically hang my keys up on the hook by the door. I knew for a fact that I saw it at that point. which meant that the last place I saw it was on my key ring, hanging on the wall, the night before it seemingly vanished. Once again, I just kind of shrugged it off and thought that it would most likely show up. It had to be in the house at this point. The next morning, I got up and did my morning routine,
Starting point is 00:26:11 and then when I went to grab my set of keys that I am now certain were hanging on the hook, they weren't there. I was seriously frustrated at this point. First my car key, and then my whole damn set of keys. I looked all over the floor, the table near the front door, the kitchen. They were nowhere. I frustratingly grabbed my jacket to go outside and see if I dropped them on the way to the door, when I noticed that the jacket had some heft on one side.
Starting point is 00:26:45 My keys were in the pocket. I laughed at myself for not checking the jacket, as that was an obvious spot for them to be, and I just grabbed them and pulled them out. This is where the weird got even weirder. The car key that was on my keyring was the original one, not the spare that I had to use the day prior. I stared at it like, wait, what? I inspected it, and yeah, it was the original.
Starting point is 00:27:15 The fob was fully intact. There was no duct tape holding it together. Strangely enough, the spare one, it wasn't on my key ring at all. It had been replaced by the normal one. I went to the kitchen and checked the drawer and there was the spare one, sitting in the same spot as always, as if I had never pulled it out or had to use it. I was dumbfounded. I have no idea what kind of trick the thing.
Starting point is 00:27:45 matrix was pulling here, or why it was doing it, but I now had my original key on the key ring, and the spare back in the drawer. As if nothing had ever happened. I was annoyed. I think that's the best word for it, but I wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth here. I had both of my fobs, and that was that. I don't see any way for this to have happened. How did my original key get lost, then come back and replace itself on the key ring like that. Before anyone asks, I live alone. I don't have any pets, not that I can think of any domestic animals smart enough to do this, and there's no one that has a key to my house that lives anywhere nearby.
Starting point is 00:28:34 My mom can get into my place, but she would have no reason to steal my car key and then replace it like that. Plus, she lives an hour away. So if she did do so, well, it just wouldn't make any sense. But that's my glitch. As mundane as it is, it frustrated me. I am glad that by the end of it, everything just got reset back to how it was supposed to be, though. I have a glitch that happened to me the other day that I cannot seem to get over. I know that sounds dumb, but it's eating at me, and I'm personally struggling to move
Starting point is 00:29:24 past it because it makes no sense, and I don't understand how or what exactly happened. I don't want to drag this on too long, so I'll get right to it with very little in ways of context here. The only things that I think you need to know are that I'm 17, I live with my parents, and I do not have my phone charger near my bed. I know that's to some people, that may sound weird, but I've been trying to peel myself away from my phone a bit, since being a teenager in modern times, has me a bit attached to my screen,
Starting point is 00:30:03 and I read that a good way to do this is to have a place to charge your phone that is away from where you can reach it. So, because of this, I have my charger on my dresser, which is over by my door, and on the opposite end of my room from my bed. If I need to use my phone for whatever reason while it's charging, I have to get up, walk around six full steps to my door, and use it over at the dresser. It's actually done a good job at getting me to use my phone less, if anyone cares. Anyways, the other day I was in my room doing my homework when my dad knocked and came into my room.
Starting point is 00:30:45 I asked him what was up, and he asked me if I had seen his text. that he had sent me. He commonly sends me messages with quick questions if he's feeling too lazy to come upstairs and ask me. I said that I hadn't seen them, because I was nose down and I grabbed my phone from where it was sitting on my nightstand. I opened the text and read it. It was just him asking me what I wanted for dinner, and he also sent me some silly meme gif. I chuckled at the meme, and then told him that I was open to whatever he and mom were going to make, that I didn't want anything specific. He stood there at my door and we chatted about a few things.
Starting point is 00:31:28 He asked me about my homework. I mentioned that it was for my economics class, and that it was pretty easy, but I was just really focused. He asked me about other things with school, and we just had a bit of a quick chat, nothing too crazy. As he was about to leave the room, I started to hear the sound of my phone vibrating like I was getting a phone call. I looked down at my bed where I thought I had tossed it, but I couldn't find it. My dad then looks over at my dresser and makes a snide comment about how it was my boyfriend.
Starting point is 00:32:05 He then picks up my phone from my dresser, unplugs it, and walks it over to hand it to me. He said that he'll let me know when dinner was ready, and then he'll. he left. I just held my phone and tried to figure out how it ended up plugged in and on my dresser. It made no sense. I had looked at it when my dad entered the room to see the meme and to respond to his question. Yet, when my boyfriend called, it was over on my dresser and somehow plugged in. Also, I was the only one between the two of us that realized that something was off. When I mentioned it to my dad, he kind of just shook his head and said that he thought it was on the dresser the whole time. I mentioned that I had read his text, and I had replied to it while he was up there.
Starting point is 00:32:58 He says that he actually asked me the question when he walked in, and that he didn't recall me ever having my phone. It was really weird. I swear I had looked at the text and the meme, because I knew what the picture was. I remembered what it all was. but I had somehow not seen it prior to when he handed me my own phone. It was like my phone teleported to the dresser, but also reset the timeline to make it that it was always over there. I really don't know what happened. But I'm very open to interpretation from your listeners because it was freaky.
Starting point is 00:33:48 This happened 24 years ago in the year 1999. I completely forgot about this incident until I read a Reddit post very similar to my own experience, and it jogged my memory. This will be a long story, but I would really appreciate your comments as to what actually happened that day. To those of you who read to the end, I thank you in advance. I was home from college for the summer visiting my family. One day, I asked my mom to borrow her car so I could go visit my friends, who stayed at the dorm during summer vacation. She said that I could have it,
Starting point is 00:34:29 but I needed to be home before 10 a.m. the next morning, because she needed the car the next day. My college was about an hour's drive from my house on a good day. Some friends of mine would make it in 45 minutes. The fastest driving time I had heard of was 35 minutes. Late at night, no traffic and driving like the wind. I got to my friend's house, our dorm residence in the early evening,
Starting point is 00:34:56 and we decided to drive down to a nearby casino, about 30 minutes drive to pass the night. We were a group of about five, two of my roommates, two other friends from our dorm and myself. We had a great time playing on the quarter slot machines. Once we all were tired and were ready to leave, we head to the lobby doors and realize it's early morning,
Starting point is 00:35:20 around 5 a.m. and it's pouring rain. It was raining so hard that we could barely see the first row of parked cars just in front of the lobby. We waited for about 30 minutes or so for the rain to slow to a drizzle, so that we could drive home and made the 30-minute drive without incident. When we got to the dorm, it was around 6 in the morning, and the rain was pouring down again. So I resolved to wait it out as long as I could.
Starting point is 00:35:49 I still had to return the car to my mom, and had at least an hour's drive, if not longer, due to the weather. When I left the dorm, it was 7 a.m. One of my roommates stayed up with me until I left, and we both noted the time as I was leaving. I got to my car a few minutes later, and started driving towards the highway. I was really tired since we basically pulled an all-nighter at the casino,
Starting point is 00:36:16 but I had to drive home to return the car to my mom. I do not recommend driving tired. I told myself I'll be fine. I cranked up the radio to my favorite station, lit a cigarette, opened the window for some fresh air, and so off I went. But again, please do not drive while tired. Within ten minutes or so, as I'm driving on the highway, the rain starts pouring again. It was so bad that I could barely see the wipers of my car. They were at the fastest setting, and it's like they weren't doing anything.
Starting point is 00:36:51 But the rain was kind of hypnotizing. The rhythm sort of started lolling me to sleep, but I didn't really notice. My blinks kept getting slower and slower. What happened next was in a span of about three to five seconds, not more. It's kind of hard to explain. I was awake one moment, sort of, and the next my consciousness wakes up to darkness. Kind of like when you wake up. in the middle of the morning, but you haven't opened your eyes yet, and you are slowly starting
Starting point is 00:37:26 to be aware of your surroundings. How comfortable and warm you are in bed, etc. That's basically what happened. I was aware of being awake, but it was dark. I don't even notice my eyes are closed. I'm comfortable, but I seem to be in a sitting position. My hands are holding on to something, but I'm not sure what it is exactly. I'm just really... comfortable and I don't want it to change. I kept thinking just five more minutes. I don't know for how long my eyes were actually closed, but suddenly I hear a really, really loud crash.
Starting point is 00:38:06 Almost sounded like a clap, but unlike anything I have ever heard before. It sounded like metal on metal, but I wasn't sure. It got me to open my eyes, and the first thing I notice is that I'm in my car, and all I see from the windows is a wave of water heading towards my windshield really fast. When it hit the windshield of the car, it sounded like the glass should have broken from the impact. It was the loudest slap sound I have ever heard before or since.
Starting point is 00:38:38 I'm in momentary shock as I take in my surroundings. I'm still in my car driving perfectly straight in the left most lame. On my left is a concrete barrier just a couple of feet away, on my right, I was just overtaken by a huge 18-wheeler truck. That is what made the wave slap on my windshield. Heart pounding, I rubbed my eyes and forced them open as far as they would go, determined to stay awake. I turned the music louder and opened the window to let the rain hit me in the face, along with some much-needed fresh air. The entire time I was thinking, holy hell, I could have died.
Starting point is 00:39:18 I probably should have died. Then another thought hit me. What even was that first loud crash that I heard? The time elapsed between the first and second claps was about a full second, me hearing the loud clap, opening my eyes to a wave that crashes to the window with another but different sounding loud clap. But this wasn't the craziest part yet. Since the rain was very strong,
Starting point is 00:39:49 I wasn't driving more than 50 to 60 kilometers an hour, as opposed to the usual 100 kilometers an hour. This means that the trip should have taken twice as long as it normally would. I figured I should be home by 9 a.m. at the latest. The rest of the drive was uneventful and I made it to my building, drove into the very large garage, and all the way in the back to my parents' parking spot. Then I walked back around to the elevators by the entrance and took the elevator to the 19th floor. Walked down a long hallway to my apartment, went into my room and crashed on the bed. Right before I passed out from fatigue and probably shock, I remembered to send my roommate a text message to let her know that I made it home safely.
Starting point is 00:40:39 I was so tired that I didn't even check what time it was, I just crashed. I woke up to a bunch of messages from my roommate. I don't remember them verbatim, but they were something like... What? No way, you must be joking. Where are you? Hello? How did you get home so fast? There's no way you're already home.
Starting point is 00:41:00 Are you okay? It takes me a while to figure out what she's talking about, while remembering my harrowing journey from the morning, because it was then that I noticed the time of the text that I had sent her before I went to sleep. It was showing 7.20 a.m. There is no way that is possible to travel around 90 kilometers in a span of 20 minutes in a rainstorm, where you can't even see the lanes on the road or even the hood of your car,
Starting point is 00:41:32 also while desperately trying not to fall asleep and apparently failing at that. I don't know what to make of this. After reading a whole bunch of other stories in the subreddit, I'm pretty sure it may have either been a case of quantum immortality or a glitch in the matrix. However, ever since that day, I have been experiencing all kinds of paranormal phenomena through the years. I'm pretty sure that this was the catalyst events to them all. Well, all except for one, but I'll tell you about it in another post if requested. Anyways, I'm sorry for the length of this story.
Starting point is 00:42:09 I just wanted to write down as many details as I could remember to share with you. while, this memory is now so clear, it's as if it happened yesterday, and I will never forget it. This is a long one, so brace yourself. Last year, I, 23, female, moved into my grandmother's house to look after her. She lives on a big property with a field, an orchard, a large garden, and a dingle at the bottom of the driveway. I know this place like the back of my hand. I've visited her since I was a child. We also have a neighbor whom I've met a few times.
Starting point is 00:43:00 He has a wife who baked us a bunch of really beautiful cupcakes that her husband brought over. However, at the start of the story, I had never met her. So a couple of days ago, I wanted to repay the favor. So I made a batch of 20 brownies with my sister and started my walk to the day. their house. As I'm walking down the driveway, I snuck one out to eat myself because, well, I figured I'd earned it. So I'm walking and eating. The geography of it is a bit weird to describe, but essentially, their house is on an embankment above my grandma's driveway, which leads to the main road. To go there without trespassing on their land, I would have to walk the main road
Starting point is 00:43:49 and then head up the hill to a side road and enter their driveway that way. On this day, I got to the dingle at the bottom of the driveway and felt lazy. What's the point of going all the way around when I can just enter through their gate at the bottom here? I'd been to their house many times as a child when my grandma's friends still live there, so I actually knew their house quite well. Those friends passed away a couple of years ago, so this couple moved. in about the same time that I moved in with my grandma. Their gate leads to a little path that goes through their back garden. It's a really steep back garden that mostly consist of wide
Starting point is 00:44:31 wooden steps all the way across, with plants and garden gnomes on each one. It's pretty picturesque, honestly. As I was walking up their garden, feeling self-conscious about trespassing, but actually not giving enough of a damn not to, I tripped on one of those. steps. I have dyspraxia, which, for those who don't know, like myself, is a brain-based motor disorder that affects fine and gross motor skills, motor planning, and coordination. I face-planted because I was holding the brownies and I didn't want to drop them. I ended up tumbling over a couple of the steps, too. As I'm lying there, shocked and in a little pain, I hear my neighbor's wife come running down the garden.
Starting point is 00:45:19 She's asking if I was okay, obviously surprised to see me there. Bear in mind that she had never seen my face before, so she must have been extra baffled. I told her that I was just there to drop off some brownies that I'd baked, but as I'm saying this, I noticed the tub of brownies is just missing. I was literally holding them 30 seconds before. Q extreme embarrassment. I assumed that they had fallen down the gun. garden somehow in my fall, but this isn't a small tub. It's relatively big, and there's no sign of it
Starting point is 00:45:57 anywhere. After ten minutes of looking, I admit defeat and tell her sorry that I'll go make some more and bring them some other time. Red-faced, I retreated back to my grandma's house. Then, yesterday, I decided to go and sit in my grandma's orchard with my cat. He's a pretty weird cat. He's a pretty weird cat. Used to be astray, and you get better bonding time with him by chilling in a tree with him than you do by giving him dreamies and pets or whatever. So my cat and I are chilling in a tree in my grandma's orchard, when my cat suddenly jumps down and jogs all giddy-like to the shed at the back of the orchard. It's a really decrepit shed that hasn't been opened since, like, 2006.
Starting point is 00:46:43 It could have contained gold bars, and I wouldn't have a clue. I thought that he just saw it. a mouse or something, but I was curious, so I followed him. There's a ditch filled with nettles and brambles right outside the shed, and I noticed that my cat is trying to find a pain-free way to get in the bushes there. I'm like, what the hell? You're fighting a losing battle there, my guy. He looks up at me and meows, which is weird in itself, because this animal never meows.
Starting point is 00:47:17 like he really doesn't know how being astray and all. I'm taken aback. Like, what do you want me to do, little man? And that's when I see it. The corner of a box that looks very similar to something I lost, peeking out from behind a bunch of a fully war-torn nettle. But I have jeans on and the pain tolerance of all my ancestors, so I waded in and edged it out.
Starting point is 00:47:45 Lo and behold, It's my tub of brownies. I can't really describe the degree of absolute confusion I felt at this moment. You ever get that vibe that there's a bunch of calculations going on just outside your field of view that you will never comprehend? My cat was freaked out about it. He didn't like the tub at all. That's not completely out of character for him because he can be skittish sometimes, with no explicable reason. But I let him sniff the box.
Starting point is 00:48:17 and then he bopped away with his back all puffed out. Extremely bewildered, I took the box inside and opened it. I counted the brownies, and there's 19, which accounts for the one that I had eaten on my way down. They're still completely fresh and taste delicious. I actually ate another one, so I figured I would take it over. I go to my neighbors this time, the long way around, and I knock on the door. and it's the wife. I apologize profusely for the last time and hand her the tub.
Starting point is 00:48:54 She was looking at me a little perplexed, and then she said, I don't think we've met before, have we? I'm pretty sure that this is the moment in most video games, where the protagonist loses her absolute marbles and becomes an anti-hero with wild mental health issues. I described to her what happened the last time, and she has no memory of it at all. But I recognized her. It definitely happened.
Starting point is 00:49:24 So I dip again. Embarrassed once more, and this is the point that I'm at now. So explanations, people? Hey, Raven. I have a glitch that I wanted to share with you that happened to me here only a couple of months ago, and it was seriously creepy to me. so hopefully you enjoy it. This happened on a family vacation slash road trip a few months ago.
Starting point is 00:50:04 This was our first trip since COVID started, and we were all very eager to escape the monotony of quarantine. We planned a weekend getaway, and I remember that all of us were super eager to get out and have a great time. The first day of the trip was pretty normal. a lot of fun times, a lot of fun memories between all of us. I guess I should mention that there was four of us, myself, 16 and female, my mom and dad, and then my younger sister who was nine.
Starting point is 00:50:40 It was a pretty long day, though. So the hotel that my parents had booked was a welcoming warmth that made us feel right at home. Now, for this story to make sense, I kind of have to explain how the hotel room was set up. The room was painted a nice pastel blue. It was a really spacious and inviting room. It had two beds that had really pretty dark blue covers. It was a large enough room to have a couch that was also blue, off to the side facing the television. In the bathroom, there was this room.
Starting point is 00:51:19 really large, ornate mirror. Like it had a really pretty and fancy looking frame that it was around it. I remember looking at that mirror and thinking about how nice it was. And lastly, there was a TV mounted
Starting point is 00:51:35 to the wall, above the desk that was in the room that was decently sized. After settling in, I pulled out my Nintendo Switch, and I laid out on the couch to play some animal crossing. My sister was laying in our bed that we were supposed to share, and my parents were in the other bed.
Starting point is 00:51:55 It was like ten, and they were all super tired, as was I, but I needed to take care of my island first. Yes, I have a problem. I got a little too involved in the game and started to doze off myself. Thankfully, I was awake enough to save my game, and after that, I literally passed out hard on the couch. This is where things go from this nice vacation evening to honestly terrifying. When I woke up, I felt disoriented and confused, and not the normal disorientation that happens when you wake up in a hotel room.
Starting point is 00:52:37 When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was my sister in front of me. Not like standing in front of me, but lying on the bed. because I was somehow in the bed. I thought, okay, maybe I got up in the middle of the night and got into bed and just don't remember. Maybe I sleepwalked or something. Weird, but not horribly alarming. Then it started to get alarming. When I finally got my eyes fully opened and was cognizant,
Starting point is 00:53:14 I noticed that the blankets on the bed were no longer a nice blue. They were an ugly cream color. I tried to shake this off again, as maybe I just mistook what I saw. I was pretty certain that wasn't the case, but I had to just tell myself that and move on. I stood up, and I started walking towards the bathroom. When I noticed that where the couch was, was now a single black recliner. I paused and stared at this chair for several moments, trying to think back to the night. night before.
Starting point is 00:53:49 I know for a fact I was lying on the couch, but yet now there was no couch, just this black chair. And sitting right there in the chair was my Nintendo Switch. I looked to the wall opposite the chair, and there was a TV there, but it was no longer mounted. It was just sitting on top of a dresser. The desk was also gone. The last thing I noticed when I glanced.
Starting point is 00:54:18 I glanced over was the fact that the walls were no longer that inviting pastel blue. It was that cheap apartment tan color. This was the point where I started to have a mini panic attack. I could shrug off waking in the bed and not on the couch. I could move past the color of the blankets being different, but a whole couch just not existing? That was too much for me. I sped up and ran into the bathroom to splash my face with water,
Starting point is 00:54:48 to try to keep myself calm. I did so just staring down at the sink and breathing, telling myself it was going to be okay. Then I reached over to grab a towel and went to dry my face off, which is when I looked up at the mirror. That really, nicely framed, ornate, decorated mirror was gone. And in its place was one of those flat affixed to the wall with little clips, mirror slabs,
Starting point is 00:55:21 the kind that are just a thin piece of glass and lay flat against the wall. I felt a painful chill run down my spine, as I tried to make sense of what the hell I was seeing. Was I dreaming? Hallucinating? As cliche as it is, I actually pinched myself on the arm to see if I was dreaming.
Starting point is 00:55:44 But it hurt, and reality didn't change. I actually stuck my head out and called out to my mom, and I asked her if she remembered the mirror in the bathroom. And she laughed and was like, The mirror? What about it? It's a mirror. I mentioned the nice frame that was on it, and she just said, No, it was just one of those cheap hotel mirrors. I then mentioned the couch, and she said,
Starting point is 00:56:12 You mean the chair? What about it? neither her nor my dad or sister recalled anything about the room from the night before none of them thought the room looked any different after a bit of me trying to say hey kais the room changed i let it go
Starting point is 00:56:33 because none of them seemed to notice anything amiss i'd just ate my breakfast in silence and packed up my stuff ready to get out of this place One last thing to note, I can perfectly visualize the original room. The blue walls, the blue blankets, the blue couch, the mounted TV, as well as that ornate mirror. I remember it all very vividly, and I was able to actually confirm that they did have a room that looked like that. We just didn't stay there.
Starting point is 00:57:09 When we got back, I googled the hotel, and I checked out their website. and the demo room on the page was the exact room that I remembered. But it only had one bed. I showed my mom the picture of the bathroom and mentioned the mirror. She said it was nice, but that the hotel room we stayed in looked nothing like that. From what I found out on the website, this is what they are remodeling all the rooms to look like. Basically, they're upgrading things and making them look nicer. We had apparently stayed in a room that hadn't yet been updated.
Starting point is 00:57:49 So, that's my weird story. It was really strange to me that the room does exist, that the hotel does have rooms that look like that, but it wasn't one that we stayed in. Why can I remember being in that room that we apparently were never in? The room will look like that in the future, as they are upgrading their rooms to be that style. So did I shift to a timeline where that hasn't happened yet?
Starting point is 00:58:21 I honestly have no explanation for this, and any thoughts would be more than welcomed. I've been an avid listener and reader of glitch stories for quite a while, and I've always enjoyed them in thoughts that they were entertaining, if not kind of terrifying. And, as most people say, I honestly never thought that I would have anything like this happened to me. That is, until it did.
Starting point is 00:58:58 And when it did, I was both excited and confused. This story or glitch has two parts, so bear with me as I explained the weird stuff that happened. And if I miss any details, I do apologize. So this whole story happened about two weeks ago. on Monday night I had had a bit of a rough night's sleep and when I did finally fall asleep
Starting point is 00:59:25 I ended up sleeping through my first alarm and didn't wake up until my hey you're late alarm went off by the time I finally woke up I looked over at the clock and it was 633 I needed to be at work by 7 and based in my normal routine and how long it was going to take me to get there
Starting point is 00:59:47 there was absolutely zero way that I was going to make it to the office on time. I jumped out of bed, did what I needed to do as best as I could with the little time that I had, and I dialed my boss to let him know that I was going to be a bit late because I overslept. He told me that that was fine because he had actually done the same thing, so it wasn't a huge deal. I hung up and I drove quickly, though safely, and no faster than the same thing. speed limit to the office. I pulled into my normal parking spot, grabbed my bag, and then grabbed my phone.
Starting point is 01:00:25 As I grabbed my phone, I hit the screen and it lit up, which showed the time, and I had to pause. Right there, on the screen of my phone, the time showed that it was 6.40 a.m. When I woke up, it was 6.33. I know this because I looked at my phone when I got up. I panicked when I saw the time. When I called my boss, and this is in my recent calls, it was 6.38 a.m. There is no way that I made it to the office within two minutes of calling him, and there is no way that I could have made the drive to the office, a drive that takes almost 30 minutes every other day, within seven minutes of me waking up. I have no idea how I beat time on my way to the office, however, I managed to do so.
Starting point is 01:01:17 I ended up just accepting that something in the universe gave me the ability to make that drive at the speed of light. I moved on to get into the office and gets to my desk. This is where the second part of the story happened, at the office. I was still a bit shaken up by the whole getting to the office and record time thing, but I figured that there had to be some kind of logical explanation or something that I was missing. Or otherwise, it was just something that happened. that I needed to ignore and not even think about. I walked into the office, and I sat at my desk and got all my stuff set up,
Starting point is 01:01:56 when my boss walks out of his office and says, I thought you were going to be late. I just kind of laughed it off and said that I thought I was too, but said that I had managed to get everything sorted and get there on time. I should add here that, at no point in this conversation, did I actually look up at my manager? I just knew it was him by his voice and the way he spoke. I was busy setting up my workstation for the day.
Starting point is 01:02:26 I knew that he was standing where he was because he was in my peripheral vision, and the blur that was in the side of my vision was the right height and size to be my boss. After that really short back and forth, he walked away toward the main lobby, I'm assuming to go upstairs and get coffee. after I got my desk all organized and ready for the day, I decided that I would head upstairs and get some coffee myself, and maybe something to eat really quick. I walked out of the wing of the building and into the main area,
Starting point is 01:02:58 and who do I see walking in the front door, but my boss? Now, one could say that he just walked out to his car or something and came back in, and that's why he was coming back. But my manager is a most important. motorcycle rider. And he always walks into the building in his gear. Helmet, knee guards, etc., and just takes them off in his office. When he walked into the building, he was wearing his gear like he had just gotten there from riding. As soon as he saw me, he pulled his helmet off and said, Hey, I thought you were going to be late. I was confused for multiple reasons.
Starting point is 01:03:39 How was it possible that he was just getting to the office when I had spoken to him earlier. He didn't have enough time to get his gear back on, and then leave and come back between when I spoke to him at my desk and this moment when I saw him walking in. I kind of just said, yeah, but I made it on time. Weren't you just in here? He said no, and that he had just gotten there and motioned toward his writing gear. I just sort of nodded and said okay and moved on.
Starting point is 01:04:11 Honestly, this whole morning. was so incredibly weird. But there wasn't anything else other than these two events that happened. I don't know what exactly happened, if this was a timeline thing or whatever, but it was so bizarre. I really don't have any sort of logical explanation for any of it. Other than, I guess my boss could have been playing a prank on me, but then why? There was nothing to gain from it.
Starting point is 01:04:42 and he's not exactly a comedian. In fact, he's a bit of a stickler. In the end, these are really the only two strange glitch-like occurrences that I have ever experienced, and to have them both on the same morning was downright weird. Before I get into this glitch story,
Starting point is 01:05:13 I want to say that I've been haunted by weird things pretty much my entire life. I may share some of, of my other stories with you at some point, but I have seriously had to deal with weird things happening to me since I was a child. They haven't always been glitches. Some of them have been pretty obviously paranormal, but these weird events are always the ones that get to me.
Starting point is 01:05:41 This specific event is just the most recent one to happen to me, and it's one that seems to be the biggest change in my reality. I've been a delivery driver for a store that does floral arrangements for quite a few years now. I also help put together the arrangements, help out in the store, but my main job is deliveries. It may sound like a bit of a weird job and one that most people wouldn't think to be a busy job, but funeral homes order their flower arrangements from somewhere, and there are funerals every day. So I can tell you that we do get a lot of business.
Starting point is 01:06:25 On top of that, some businesses like to order small arrangements for their front desks, and we also had one client that had been consistent for years. She's actually the one that the story is about. But I want to tell you a bit more about her before we get into the story. Norma Jean was... at the time of this story, in her mid-90s. I think she was 94, to be exact, but I can't be certain on that. Norma had been getting flowers from our shop for 25 years,
Starting point is 01:07:01 almost the entire time the store had done deliveries, and that started because her husband had wanted to get her flowers, and he'd actually contacted the original owner of the store to set up an arrangement for them to be delivered every two weeks to Norma. He hadn't prepaid or anything. He was paying when they were set up and sent out. But he had done this for about 20 years, until he passed away in 2016.
Starting point is 01:07:33 Her husband had actually spoken to the owner not too long before he passed away and asked if there was any way he could continue to have the flower sent to her after his passing. if maybe there was some way he could prepay, and the owner promised him that she would continue sending them, and that he didn't have to worry about paying for them. I'm mentioning this because this was, obviously, the sweetest and saddest story that I've ever heard,
Starting point is 01:08:04 and I was always so happy when the two weeks was up, and I got to deliver more flowers to Norma Jean. It was always such a pleasure to knock on her door and say, I have a flower delivery for Norma Jean from Ronald, because her eyes would always light up when I said it. Now, I've been making this delivery, as mentioned, every two weeks for about four years, with some exceptions for when I was out sick or just not working that day. If you do the math on that, I've done this delivery approximately 180 times.
Starting point is 01:08:42 so I know Norma Jean pretty well. Over the past couple of years, I will say that she changed a slight bit and that she wasn't very talkative anymore. She would just take her flowers and say thank you, and that would be the whole conversation. It's okay, I get it. With everything going on, it was possible
Starting point is 01:09:05 that she just didn't want to be social, and I respected that. Now, on to the glitch that. happened. About two months ago, it was time for me to do my delivery to Norma Jean. I got the flowers arranged, got everything in the van, and I headed toward her lovely little house so that I could make her morning better. However, when I pulled up, I noticed that her front yard looked different. For some reason, I couldn't really put words to what was different, and Part of me thinks that this may be part of the glitch.
Starting point is 01:09:46 Something about it was different, but my brain cannot, for whatever reason, parse out the information on what exactly is different. It's just that something is completely wrong with how it looks. I shook this off, thinking that it was just something weird at first, but then I got up to the door and rang the bell. An older woman, younger than Norma, with curly, graying red hair answered the door. My first thought was that this could have been Norma Jean's daughter or something. I've never met any of her kids, but she had mentioned them in the past.
Starting point is 01:10:30 Of course, my mind immediately went to the worst place. I thought maybe something had happened to Norma and her kids were there to help her, or worse. I went ahead with my normal greeting of flower delivery for Norma Jean from Ronald, and the woman lit up just as Norma would have. She reached out for the flowers, and she said that they were absolutely lovely this week and thanked me for always being so kind when I dropped them off.
Starting point is 01:11:02 I then asked if Norma was around or if she was okay, and this woman looked at me like I was crazy. She kind of shook her head and said, What do you mean? I'm right here. This woman was at least 15 years younger than Norma. There was no way that she was in her 90s, and she looked nothing like I remember Norma looking.
Starting point is 01:11:28 On top of that, her voice was way more energetic, and she was way more talkative. I even questioned her a bit saying, wait, you're Norma? and she started asking me if I was okay. She'd mentioned that I'd been bringing her flowers for something like four years now, and she was confused why I didn't recognize her on that day. I told her that I just must be off and that I was fine.
Starting point is 01:11:58 I tried to play it off as best I could, but I could tell that she was confused as to what I was going on about. I told her to have a lovely day, and I went back to my van and headed back. to the shop. As soon as I got back, I mentioned to the owner that someone else had answered the door for Norma, and that she said she was Norma. We talked about it for a bit. I described the woman, and she told me that the woman that answered the door was, in fact, Norma. I then mentioned the little old lady that I was used to seeing, and she was confused, because, based on the
Starting point is 01:12:39 description that I was giving, I was talking about Norma's mother. I said that I must have been giving the flowers to her mother the whole time then, and she then mentioned to me that that was impossible, because Norma's mother died in 1997, which was when the owner met Ronald and Norma. She did the entire flower arrangement for the funeral. That was how the store had actually gotten Ronald's business. He thought that the arrangements were so beautiful that he wanted to get the flowers for Norma Jean to try to keep her in high spirits
Starting point is 01:13:16 after the passing of her mother. She even showed me a picture that she had of them from a year or two later, and the woman in the photograph looked a lot closer to this new Norma Jean that I had met that day. So, I guess that's my latest glitch. The Norma Jean that I knew
Starting point is 01:13:37 was apparently somehow Norma Jean's mother, and not the real Norma. But the woman that's been answering the door to me for the last four years has been dead since the late 90s. I really don't know how to explain this beyond it being a really weird shift in reality, or glitch, or something. But it's probably one of the weirdest things that I've ever experienced, and I really don't know how to take it. I will add that I have done this delivery a couple more times since this change, and this new Norma is very kind, and she knows me by name, she knows my girlfriend's name, and several other things about me that I've spoken about to Norma, so I have to believe that
Starting point is 01:14:28 this is the Norma gene that I've been delivering to for a few years now. I have no explanation for this, and I'm open to any comments. But, as it is now, I just have to accept that the Norma Jean I knew is no longer with us, and just keep bringing the flowers to this new Norma Jean. I had a really weird glitch happened to me about a week or so ago, and I've been wanting to share it. I just haven't had the time to do so until now. I'm not sure if it's a glitch where I saw the future.
Starting point is 01:15:14 or if it's a glitch where reality repeated or something like that. But it's definitely an unexplainable thing that happened. Maybe someone can tell me what it was, but for me it's still one of those I have no idea what the hell this was moments. So this happened one morning while I was at home. At the moment, I don't have a car. It snowed around me not too long ago, and I actually got into an accident.
Starting point is 01:15:46 That wasn't my fault. And my car was completely totaled. I'm currently in the waiting phase of everything to come through so that I can get a new one. Until then, I'm dependent upon my father coming to get me to do the things that I need to do, and thankfully he lives about 15 minutes away, and he's more than willing to help out. Plus, I'm currently working from home.
Starting point is 01:16:13 So I can get away with not having a car a bit easier than most people. On this particular morning, I was needing to go to the post office to ship something to my work's home office, and was also needing to go to the grocery store for just a couple of things. So I asked him if he could be there at around 11, so that I could take my hour lunch to go do what I needed to do and make it back at a decent time. At around 1040, I got a text from him saying, Hey, I'm on my way. I should be there in about 20 minutes.
Starting point is 01:16:51 He tends to send something like this when he's on his way, which is always funny to me because I know he's going to take 20 minutes to get here, so he doesn't need to say it. At this point, I'm not really doing anything for work as it was a slow day, so after about 10 minutes, I wrap up what I was doing and lock my system. I step away, put on real pants, grab my coat, hat and gloves, and get ready to step outside into the cold to wait for the last five minutes or so. I have to say that at no point in time during all this, did I look at my cell phone. That's important for what happened.
Starting point is 01:17:38 I step out my front door, lock it up, and I sit in the chair that's on my front porch just waiting for my dad to pull up at any minute. After a couple of moments, I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. I think that it's probably my dad texting me to say he'll be a couple more minutes for whatever reason, but when I opened my phone and looked at it, I was utterly confused. the message I had just got said, Hey, I'm on my way. I should be there in about 20 minutes. The text was completely identical to the one from earlier,
Starting point is 01:18:18 but the one from earlier wasn't there. I read it confused for a moment, but then thought that maybe he had double sent it, or maybe it got sent again for whatever reason. But then I looked up at the time, and it was 10.40. That was impossible. He originally texted me at 1040 saying he was on his way.
Starting point is 01:18:44 I then spent several minutes working at my computer before getting up, getting dressed, and getting bundled up to go outside. I had then sat there for a few minutes, and yet it was still 1040? Or it was 1040 again? I actually called my dad at that moment. and when he answered, I asked if he had left a while back or if he had just left.
Starting point is 01:19:11 And he confirmed that he was actually pulling out of the driveway at that moment. I basically just told him that I would see him soon and hung up. I just kind of stared blankly at my phone until he pulled up, the full 20 minutes. He showed up, we did what we needed to do, and I got back with the few minutes to spare. No other issues or events occurred that were abnormal. I really have no idea what exactly happened here.
Starting point is 01:19:42 I know that he texted me at 1040, then I spent some time doing some things before I went outside to wait, and yet, after all that time, it was still the same time. And he had just sent that text. I really don't know, but it's been something that's been concerned. confusing to me since it happened. I have a short but incredibly weird glitch that happened to me and my roommate that we genuinely cannot explain. It's not the craziest glitch in the world, but it's one of those things that, after it happened,
Starting point is 01:20:30 we both just kind of looked at each other like we were crazy. This happened about a month ago, back near the end of the year. It was the week between Christmas and New Year's. My roommate and I both work retail jobs at different companies, and on this particular night we were both exhausted. It was my first day off since Black Friday, and he had been working ten hours a day for the last two weeks. It was around 5.30 in the evening, and we were talking about what we wanted to do for dinner. Because we'd both been working a lot, we thankfully had a bit of money saved up, so we'd decided. decided that on that night, we weren't going to make dinner. We were going to order pizza.
Starting point is 01:21:18 We're both guys in our mid-20s, so to say that we can each wolf down a full pizza, it's an understatement. We sat there and kind of debated what to get when I had the brilliant idea of, how about we each get a whole pizza for ourselves? Like a whole large pizza. It was one of those ideas that was so obvious that I was feeling like a literal genius for saying it. So that's what he decided to do. I wanted a Hawaiian. Don't judge me. And he wanted an all the meats kind of pizza. We then also decided that we would get a large order of their cheese sticks. And I put in the order paid for the whole thing and we waited. The delivery guy showed up and we excitedly grabbed our food and took it to the kitchen.
Starting point is 01:22:11 And around here is where the glitch occurred. The delivery driver gave us two large pizza boxes and a medium box, one for each pizza, and then I guessed that they used a medium box for the cheese sticks because they are pretty big. My roommate dropped the boxes on the counter and opened the medium box. Cheese sticks, check, as expected. He then opened the first. pizza box, and it was my large Hawaiian pizza.
Starting point is 01:22:43 We both saw it. He saw the pineapple and said, ewe, jokingly. I confirmed that it was mine and it was correct, so I closed it, grabbed the box, and I took it to the living room. He grabbed the last box without opening it and followed me in. When he sat down and opened it, he let out a disappointed grunt and a couple expletives or two, and I asked him what was wrong. He mentions that they messed up the order and that they gave us two Hawaiians
Starting point is 01:23:13 instead of a Hawaiian and his all-meat pizza. I knew that that was going to be an issue, since, obviously, my roommate cannot stand pineapple on pizza, which I get. I set my box on the coffee table and looked over, and sure enough, it was a Hawaiian. I told him that I would go ahead and call them to see if they could send the correct pizza. I get up, grab my phone, and start to dial the number.
Starting point is 01:23:41 I start explaining to the person at the store that there was a mistake with our order when my roommate tells me to hold on. I glance over it where he's standing at the coffee table, and he motions towards my box. The first box that we opened and verified was a Hawaiian. Sure enough, it's now a meat lover pizza. He reopens his box. and it's the Hawaiian.
Starting point is 01:24:09 I apologize to the person at the pizza place, and I tell them that we must have made a mistake and that everything was there and perfect and hung up. It wasn't until I hung up that it occurred to me that this was impossible. He opened the first box. We both saw the Hawaiian pizza, pineapple, and ham. I grabbed it to take it to the living room. He had first opened his box when we sat down,
Starting point is 01:24:37 and it was also a Hawaiian. We both saw two pizzas with ham and pineapple, but somehow the pizza I had grabbed was now his all-meat pizza. It's not like you can mistake a Hawaiian, again, just ham and pineapple, with a pizza covered in sausage, hamburger, and pepperoni. They looked nothing alike. We kind of just stared at each other like, how the hell did that happen, but after a while decided that it was.
Starting point is 01:25:07 was what it was. And we dug into our dinner. I don't get it. I don't know how the pizza changed, but I assume that it was just a situation where the Matrix rendered the wrong pizza the first time and corrected it when we weren't looking. So, I guess, thanks to the Matrix for fixing our pizza problems. I have a weird, glitchy thing that happened to me when I was around nine, which would have been the late 90s. At the time, my mom had an older Chevy Astro van that we were looking to get rid of.
Starting point is 01:25:53 I only have an older brother, and there are about eight years between us, so at the time he would have been around 17, and was already saving for his own car. Times were a bit rough around then, and
Starting point is 01:26:09 my parents had decided they were going to be a one-car family, since having the van wasn't really necessary anymore. Of course, I was a bit sad about that, because the van was a cornerstone of my childhood. It was a slate, gray beast that had seen better days for sure, but it also punctuated literally every trip that I'd been a part of from the day I was born. So, yeah, it was sad, but I get it. Anyways, one day my mom told me that I needed to change out of my pajamas, and put on some real clothes because someone was coming over to look at the van,
Starting point is 01:26:50 and she didn't want me running around in my Superman pants. I found it a bit odd. Normally I would just stay inside while the adults did their adult things. But for some reason, she was adamant that I needed to be dressed so that I could be outside with her and this stranger. Obviously, I did what I was told, and sure enough, she expected me to be outside when the man came to look at the van. The man that showed up was pretty nondescript.
Starting point is 01:27:21 He was a bit taller than my dad, wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses. He seemed friendly enough, chatting with my mom about the van, asking about the mileage, any issues that had had. Just the typical car buying stuff, really. After a bit of conversation and back and forth, I remember the man looked over to me and said, What do you think, champ? Should I buy the van?
Starting point is 01:27:48 I remember thinking it was neat that he asked me, like I was making the decisions for him. And I told him that it was a really good van, and I thought that he would like it if he bought it. He laughed and said okay, telling my mom that he would take it. I remember that, after that, I was bored out of my mind,
Starting point is 01:28:09 because they had to do the whole process for selling the car. I was sitting there playing with pebbles in the driveway while they chatted more and filled out the bill of sale, and the title and all that stuff. Then I watched as the man handed my mom the cash, she handed him the keys, and he drove off. My mom seemed pleased, he seemed happy, and the day went on as normal after that.
Starting point is 01:28:36 The next morning I woke up and went downstairs for breakfast, only to glance out the window and see the van sitting right there on the side driveway. I was a bit confused and surprised to see it sitting in the driveway again, but I asked my mom if the guy had brought it back for some reason. When I asked this, she looked up from her coffee and sort of just stared at me like I was speaking gibberish. She said that no one had come to look at the van yet, and that she'd only gotten a call from one lady that was going to come out on Saturday to check it out. I mentioned the guy in the ball cap that had come over to buy it yesterday, described him,
Starting point is 01:29:16 mentioned that he gave her cash and everything. She just looked at me like I had two heads. I tried to explain it to her the best that I could. I even mentioned the title and the bill of sale that she had written up so that he could drive it away. Things that no nine-year-old should know about randomly. My mom was insistent that it hadn't happened, and asked me if I was feeling okay. I was genuinely taken aback.
Starting point is 01:29:45 I couldn't understand how I could have such a vivid memory of an event that, apparently, never took place. Had I dreamed the whole thing? I really don't think so. It was definitely a real event that happened. I was a kid, sure, but I could tell the difference between dreaming and reality. It was a while before I could push the whole thing out of my head, even at that age. I knew something weird had happened.
Starting point is 01:30:16 The van did eventually sell, but not to the guy that I remember buying it. Looking back, it's one of those events that really does bother me. I have no explanation for it, because nothing logical makes sense. My mom wouldn't benefit from lying to me about it, and I'm pretty sure there wasn't some shady deal that they made or something. It was a car sale. However, for whatever reason, that sale just never happened. And someone else got the van.
Starting point is 01:30:50 No idea how or why, but that is how it happened. This happened about two years ago, but it's still in my mind a lot, so I decided to make a post about it. I understand if you don't believe me. I wouldn't believe this if it didn't happen to me either. I was spending a day with my friend in a city. I had to go to the toilet, but because of COVID, I couldn't go anywhere. Luckily, there was this ice cream store that said I could use theirs if I bought a comb.
Starting point is 01:31:31 It was at the end of the store, and I had to use the stairs, the girl behind the counter said. So, I walked to the end of the store. There was a part that was sort of an indoor garden. I saw a spiral staircase that I thought went to the toilet. Instead of the toilet, I ended up being in a Chinese restaurant, which was pretty weird and unexpected, but still no toilet. I saw a door to my right and figured that's where the toilet had to be. It ended up being a stairwell where the stairs that go back to the ground floor
Starting point is 01:32:06 were closed off with traffic cones and tape. So the only way to go was up. Because my bladder was almost bursting and I was kind of curious where I was going, I took a chance and walked up the stairs. When I opened the door, I ended up in the middle of a kitchen, which was weird. Who has a stairwell in the middle of a kitchen? Everyone was running around and no one really noticed me, so I went back to the stairwell and went another floor up. That's when I noticed how many floors there were. It felt really weird to me because,
Starting point is 01:32:42 the building was hello old, and it couldn't have had more than three floors. But I was on the fourth floor, and I kind of felt like something was off at that moment. I opened the door, and this floor was really creepy. There was writing on the walls in a language that I've never seen before. It kind of looked like hieroglyphics, but smoother. There were two doors with symbols on them, one male and one female, I presume. but I couldn't figure out which was which since I didn't understand these symbols. I needed to go really bad, so I just took a chance and picked a door.
Starting point is 01:33:23 When I opened it, I felt really weird because it was just an empty room. No sink, no mirror, just a room leading to another door. I remember thinking what a waste of space it was, and why the hell had someone designed it like that? The next door led to a room with a sink and a mirror and another door which finally led to a toilet. As I sat down and reviewed my entire journey to the toilet, it didn't make any sense at all to me. I had been walking around in an old medium-sized ice cream shop for about ten minutes looking for their toilet. How is that even possible?
Starting point is 01:34:06 One possibility is that I ended up in an entirely different building, But how did I switch buildings so easily? I never tried to open a locked door or anything, and the buildings definitely weren't this high when I saw them from the outside. I kind of started to freak out, so I texted my friend that was waiting for me at the entrance of the store. When I was done, I opened the door and ended up in the sink room again. When I opened the door of that room, my heart dropped. I ended up in the hallway again.
Starting point is 01:34:40 The empty room that I walked in through was just gone. I really started to hurry back because it felt like I was going insane. One floor down, back through the kitchen, another floor down through the Chinese restaurant, which was really busy. I looked around for a while and was getting even more confused. There was a balcony with people having dinner on the side where the street was supposed to be. I never saw a balcony there before, and I've been to this city many times, so I've been to the city many times, so I'm I was really stunned. I walked towards the balcony to check it out, and it got worse.
Starting point is 01:35:17 Instead of the street, I saw a lake with grass and trees and such, and people walking around. In this particular city, there is nothing like that anywhere near this building. I was really stressed out at this point, so I wanted to go back to the ice cream store. I went down the spiral staircase, which led me back to where my journey first began. I told my friend about this experience immediately, and he believed me because I was really distressed. The weirdest thing is, though, I had texted him two minutes before I got back from the toilet. It had taken me longer to walk all the way back, and I had been gone for about six minutes in total. The timing was way off compared to what I actually experienced.
Starting point is 01:36:06 After this, I told more people about my experience in this particular. store, and I talked to one guy that actually works in the store. He said the toilet was actually in the basement and not up, and that there's no way that there were more than three floors. There was only one floor up as a venue that you can hire, connected to the ice cream store, and one attic which was used as a storage room. So I don't know what the hell happened, and it still haunts me to this day. When I was younger, I used to be a major proponent of taking road trips, and I used to love getting out on the open road.
Starting point is 01:37:00 As strange as it is, I love the smell of hot asphalt. That rubbery burning smell, something about it makes me want to drive a thousand miles to a location that I've never been to. Maybe it's something about the freedom of the highways, but I've taken countless trips over the... years to places that most people have never heard of. And I recommend everyone take a cross-country trip at least once in their life. That said, there is one trip, one of those cross-country trips, that actually haunts me.
Starting point is 01:37:36 I think it was some kind of glitch in the Matrix, but I really don't know. I'm submitting this as a glitch story, because I have zero explanation otherwise. This was in the early 90s. I was in my early 20s, and I was on a solo road trip from east to west here in the States. I'd pack my car with all my essentials, say my goodbyes to people that mattered, and I would set off on adventure,
Starting point is 01:38:06 stopping and making calls at payphones along the way. The first couple days of the trip were uneventful. I was just going down the highway with my music, some truck-stop food, and the joy of freedom. On the third day, though, is when things took a bit of a strange turn. I was driving down a two-lane highway, a bit of a desolate stretch of road in the middle of nowhere. The sun was in the middle of the sky, making the shadows stretch across the landscapes, and making the air feel a bit heavier.
Starting point is 01:38:44 I had been on a pretty empty stretch of road, and I hadn't seen another car or sign of life for a while. That's when I saw what looked like a person standing on the side of the road. He was tall, thin, had long hair flowing in the wind. He almost looked like a stereotypical hippie. He wasn't wearing vivid colors or anything like that. He just looked a bit lanky, had big round glasses and long dark hair that was tied back. He had his thumb out like he was trying to hitchhike.
Starting point is 01:39:20 I slowed down thinking that I could stop for him, but something about the whole situation gave me a weird vibe. Something told me to keep driving and that he would be fine, and that I should not stop. So I kept going. As I drove on, I glanced in the rear-view mirror and saw him continuing his travels on foot. He didn't seem upset that I didn't stop,
Starting point is 01:39:46 so I wasn't going to feel bad about it. After about an hour, though, I was confused to see another hitchhiker. Not just another hitchhiker, but the same hitchhiker. It was the same guy standing there with the same bag and the same outstretched thumb. He had the same long hair that was tied back
Starting point is 01:40:09 and same round glasses, same overall look. I couldn't believe my eyes. It had to be a coincidence. There was no way that the guy an hour back had gotten ahead of me. I hadn't stopped or slowed down, and I was going something like 70 miles per hour at this point. For him to have gotten ahead of me,
Starting point is 01:40:33 he would have had to have been walking faster than 70 miles per hour, or teleported. Obviously, this didn't help my creepy feelings about him, but I ignored it, thinking that I had to be walking. was just going crazy until I saw him again about another hour later I know that sounds crazy trust me but I saw another man with the same tied-back hair the same brown shawl the same lanky structure and same outstretched thumb at this point I was freaking out thinking that I was either losing it or that I was at the butt end of the most well-thought-out
Starting point is 01:41:13 prank in the world. Was this seriously a bunch of similar-looking guys dispersed along the highway at hour intervals? Just standing there to mess with people and making them think that they're seeing things? At this point, I decided that I needed to go ahead and get off the highway and stop to get something to eat. Maybe I was just hungry, and my brain was doing something stupid. I went for about 20 more minutes down the way. highway, making sure that there was no way that this man could catch up to me if I stopped.
Starting point is 01:41:49 I pulled off, went to a sonics, and got a burger for dinner. I sat there, ate my food, and then decided to get back out onto the road. I pulled out of the parking lot, back onto the road that led to the highway, and at the next corner, who else would I see but that same man? This time he was at an intersection. not on the side of the highway, and he was just standing there with his bony thumb outstretched. This time I stopped.
Starting point is 01:42:23 Seeing this guy four times, there had to be some level of fate between the two of us, right? There had to be something that was happening that I could not understand, and we were supposed to meet. My curiosity had taken over my fears, so I just said that I would bite the bullet and confront, him. I pulled up beside him, rolled the window down, and asked him if he was okay, or if he needed a ride. He nodded at me, and walked over to my car, and put his hands on the open window looking in.
Starting point is 01:42:59 The whole time he walked up and looked around, he had the goofiest smile on his face, like he was the happiest he had ever been. After a couple seconds of this, I guess you could call him. it's analysis, he looked at me and said, What's your name, bro? I told him that my name was Gabriel, but that he could call me Gabe, if he wanted, and he just kept his smile and nodded slowly. After a few more seconds of terribly awkward silence, he looked back at me and said, You know what, brother?
Starting point is 01:43:36 I appreciate it, but I think I'll take the next one. His voice turned a bit cold. and he pushed himself away from my car, telling me to have safe travels. I stared at him for a moment, but then told him to have a good day, and started driving off. It was an incredibly awkward moment, and a conversation that I will remember for the rest of my life. The rest of the trip passed without incident, and I didn't see that man again. It was almost as if I needed to talk to him. like our simulation was telling me that, in order for me to continue,
Starting point is 01:44:18 I needed to meet this random dude that I had seen hitchhiking in four different locations. And when I finally met him, he stopped spawning in, and I was allowed to move forward. It was a bit terrifying, not going to lie, but nothing really happened outside of that weird conversation. I don't know if he was some kind of good. or glitch that I had to address, or if it was all in my head and it was just four guys that looked identical. Like I mentioned, I guess it could have been a prank, but if so, that was the most epically coordinated prank to have ever happened,
Starting point is 01:45:01 and there was no payoff for literally any of them. No matter what it was, it was weird. And hopefully you and your listener, enjoy it. I used to work at a grocery store as a cashier, and it was a pretty boring job, but I have one story that was pretty crazy that I thought I would go ahead and share.
Starting point is 01:45:37 It was a pretty normal day. I was bored out of my mind from ringing people up, taking money, cleaning the front of the store. I'm not going to say that I liked the job. It was just kind of a paycheck to me, so I didn't really pay much attention to the customers or what they looked like. We started to get busy in the late afternoon, as we always did, and I was ringing up an older woman that was very polite and talkative.
Starting point is 01:46:06 I'm not very sociable. Plus, like I said, I didn't like the job, so I was keeping the small talk, well, small. She asked how I was doing, and I told her I was fine. I commented on her scarf because it was a really pretty shade of blue, and she thanked me. She mentioned some of the deals, just things like that. Standard grocery store cash register conversation. I got through her items, and I told her her total, and I even remember the exact number that she owed. It was $35 and $72, all together.
Starting point is 01:46:48 She handed me a $20, a 10, a 5, and a 1. So all of the common denominations of cash. I gave her her change, and she told me to have a blessed day. I ring up the next guy in line. It was a pretty quick transaction as it was a co-worker, and he was just buying stuff for his lunch. He made a comment about how busy we were, and that was that. Then, when I finished with him,
Starting point is 01:47:16 I looked up at the next person in my line, and, much to my surprise, is it was that same old lady from before. I grinned and asked her if she had forgotten a few things from earlier, and she kind of just stared at me and asked what I meant. I made a comment about how she had been in earlier, and she said that she had only been there for about half an hour and shopping, and that she hadn't come up to the front at all in that time. I then laughed and just mentioned that there was another lady that looked just like her,
Starting point is 01:47:48 and that she honestly could have been her twin. Same coat, scarf, everything. She remarked that that was pretty crazy since she had made the scarf herself by hand, so it was one of a kind. We made similar small talk, and I just took it as, oh, it was two people that looked the same,
Starting point is 01:48:10 and moved on. It wasn't really a huge deal at the time. After I rang up all of her items, I looked at the screen to take. tell her her total. $35.72. I laughed and told the lady that that was the same total the other lady had had, and she'd had different items.
Starting point is 01:48:32 She laughed and said that it was really crazy. She then told me to have a blessed day, and we moved on. Now, that all in and of itself is weird, but it got weirder. About two hours later, we had slowed down, but we had slowed down, but we had slowed down, but were still fairly busy, and I looked up to greet the next customer in line. And, sure enough, it was the same old lady. Same face, same coat, same bright blue scarf. This time I didn't say anything to her about looking like the other two.
Starting point is 01:49:09 I kind of thought that maybe she was pranking me or something, so I figured I would make small talk and see if she cracked. I told her that I really liked her. scarf. She thanked me, and I then asked her if she had made it. She said that she did, and even started in on how complicated it was to knit the whole thing, because the pattern that she'd had was a bit off. I nodded and kept the small talk going, and at the end of ringing her items up, I didn't even look at the screen at all. I turned toward her, and I decided that I would just make a joke about how, without looking at the total, I could tell her that she owed $35 and $72.
Starting point is 01:49:52 She glanced behind me at the screen and laughed, asking how I did that. I laughed, but then looked and was blown away at the fact that I was correct. It was at that point that I decided that this wasn't a prank, and that something in reality had broken. I told her that she was the third lady with the same blue scarf to. to come through with the exact same total over the last few hours. She laughed at me and thought that I was joking. I could tell that she didn't think I was being serious, so I'd just let it go. I took her money, and then, as if on script, she walked away and told me to have a blessed day.
Starting point is 01:50:34 I tried to make sense of it all, but the more that I tried to rationalize it, the more confused I became. I even asked one of my co-workers if they had noticed. it, but they just looked at me as if I was crazy. I still don't know what caused this glitch in the Matrix or what it all means, but I know that it was the weirdest experience of my time at that store. And it's something that I'll honestly never forget. Sometimes the world around us can be stranger than we think. And I guess sometimes the Matrix runs out of characters and just has to double up. I have a story that happened to me about eight months ago that I wanted to share.
Starting point is 01:51:28 But I needed to get some information from my sister first to make sure that I remembered the whole thing correctly, since she was kind of there for the event too. Plus, since it involves her very young son, I wanted to make sure that she was okay with me sharing it. She was, so here we go. Eight months ago, I was going through. through a really rough patch with my boyfriend. We'd been having a lot of disagreements about random little things over a time frame of about two weeks. They were things that really shouldn't have bothered either of us.
Starting point is 01:52:06 You know how when things in a relationship start to go south, they just keep going south, until something as simple as a dirty glass on the counter can turn into a shouting match? Yeah, that's where we were. I had actually left and told him that I was going to spend a couple of days at my sister's house to try and get my head together, which is why I was there. As mentioned, my sister has a young son named Danny, who had just turned six at the time. Danny is a quiet and observant child, often watching others with intensity that's a bit unusual for his age, but he is adorable and I love him. I don't personally want kids, but I would take a bullet for Danny, and he would probably then ask me why I did it because that's who he is.
Starting point is 01:53:01 He likes information. That said, I was making it a point to not mention what was going on between myself and my boyfriend around him because Danny and my boyfriend were super close too, and I didn't want to upset him, just in case we didn't end up breaking up. During my first night there, I was in the kitchen doing the dishes after dinner, just trying to pull my weight and be helpful since my sister was letting me stay there, and I started thinking about my boyfriend and the last argument that we'd had. It was a dumb argument about money, because he wanted to buy something that I didn't think was important, but he wanted it because it was something he liked. It wasn't expensive. It was just unnecessary.
Starting point is 01:53:51 I was sitting there and thinking about whether or not I overreacted. As I was sitting there lost in thought, Danny walked into the kitchen. He walked straight over to me, and without prompting, said, He understands. You need to call him and tell him that you're sorry, and he'll apologize to. I was a bit taken aback as I hadn't said anything about this disagreement to anyone, and especially not around him. I was sitting there thinking that he was reading my mind,
Starting point is 01:54:22 and as soon as I thought that, Daney kind of chuckled and said, You're silly, Aunt Kay, and then took off back into the living room. Now, that was a bit terrifying, because at that point, it was like he was absolutely reading my mind. But I brushed it off thinking that maybe his statement was more general,
Starting point is 01:54:43 and he had heard my sister say something about, us having an argument. So maybe he was just telling me to apologize and that it'll be okay. I went ahead and finished the dishes and then went downstairs towards where the guest room was, and I pulled out my phone to see if my boyfriend had texted me or anything, but he hadn't. I was a bit upset about it, but then figured that he was taking the time to himself too, trying to figure some things out. I put my phone in my pocket, and as soon as I took my turned to go back upstairs, I ran straight into Danny, who was standing on the steps and just watching me. I jumped slightly, and then laughed saying that he had scared me. He didn't even respond to that.
Starting point is 01:55:32 He just stared at me straight in the face and said, he's not mad at you. I chuckled a bit, and said thanks for reassuring me and sort of glanced down at the floor. At this point, I thought that I should maybe ask Danny for advice, considering he seemed to know everything already, and maybe I could use the innocence of a child's mind to get a better perspective. I actually asked him. Well, since you seem to know so much about things, what do you think is going on with us? I swear, when I asked this, Danny puffed up his chest and focused really hard on me like he was reading the cosmos for information. After a few moments, he pauses, smiles, and then says, he's getting a better job, but he's scared that it's going to be hard. I kind of stared at him confused. I hadn't heard anything
Starting point is 01:56:30 about a new job or anything like that, and none of us had mentioned it at all. I leaned against the wall and pulled out my phone, staring straight at Danny and said, well, let's see if you're right, kiddo. I won't get into the whole conversation that we had, but I will say that Danny was right. I called my boyfriend and asked if we could talk, and he agreed. I then asked him what it was that was stressing him out so much, and at first he wouldn't tell me, but after a bit of prodding, he finally did. He told me that over the past couple of weeks, he had been up for review by his manager, and his manager was trying to get him into a new position.
Starting point is 01:57:14 a position with the company that was a major promotion that came with a major increase in salary, but also added a bit of travel to his duties. He mentioned that he was stressed about it because he wanted to tell me, but he thought that I would get upset about the traveling part, and it had been causing him a lot of mental stress. After this, I thanked Danny, but told him that I needed to be. to finish the conversation in my bedroom. He turned and walked away, but finished off with,
Starting point is 01:57:49 let him know that he got it, they just have to give him the paper. I nodded and he walked away. We talked about things for about an hour or two. We were both super apologetic, and realized that we were both causing unnecessary problems. Wrapping up a long story here, my boyfriend did get the job. His boss was just,
Starting point is 01:58:14 waiting for the letter from HR to give him the formal offer. My boyfriend was stressed about the new job prospect, and he was letting it get to him, and it was rubbing off on me, so we were fighting a lot. When we spoke, we both apologized, and it was a good thing that we spoke, because we were able to air out a lot of issues. In the end, Danny was 100% correct on all fronts,
Starting point is 01:58:41 on things that he could not have known about. about. I talked to my sister about everything, and she assured me that she hadn't spoken to Danny about my boyfriend for the same reason that I hadn't. She didn't want to upset him. Plus, I don't think that she'd had my boyfriend's numbers, so there's no way that my sister could have gotten that information from him and pass it on to Danny to get me to call him like that. I firmly believe that this was all Danny, that Danny was somehow. able to see something in the situation that we weren't seeing. He was able to know what I was thinking, and he knew the solution.
Starting point is 01:59:23 I have no idea if Danny was psychic, or if he had some sort of connection to the Matrix, but I'm talking this up to a glitch of some sort, to Danny having access to information that we don't. I guess it's possible that there was some kind of coordination that I wasn't aware. of, but I honestly do not think so. Danny hasn't done anything else crazy like this since, so it may have just been some kind of temporary ability or insight. Thankfully, nothing else out of the ordinary has happened, but I honestly cannot help but wonder if there's more to Danny than meets the eye.
Starting point is 02:00:15 Hello, Raven, and hello to my fellow Matrix Dwellers. I've been listening to your podcast for a while. and I wanted to start by saying thank you for telling these interesting stories. Because of you, I've grown fascinated by glitches, and honestly, these episodes have helped me get through a countless number of boring days at the office. However, today, I have my own story to share. It may not be as jaw-dropping as some of the others that you've read, but it's been messing with me, and I would appreciate some outside.
Starting point is 02:00:53 perspective. You actually read a story recently about a person that had weird dreams, and it kind of inspired me to type this up for you, so I guess thank you as well to that person. A bit of background to start. I work as a tech support person for a software company, and I deal with an array of issues. These issues range from my laptop caught fire, which yes, was a ticket that we once got, to I forgot my password or I can't log in to the servers. Every day brings its own set of random challenges, but one ticket that I had to take care of here recently stands out,
Starting point is 02:01:39 as it was, well, weird. A few weeks ago, I had this really strange and vivid dream. Nothing out of the ordinary at first. It started as just one of those normal workdays in dreamland kind of dreams. In the dream, I was called by a co-worker whom I'm going to call Emma. Emma called me and asked me to come over as she was having a bit of a strange issue with her system. The weirdest part of all this was the level of detail in the dream. I remember walking to her desk.
Starting point is 02:02:17 I remember her describing the issue. I remember sending a text to one of the higher-level texts because I was thinking that this was related to a specific server issue we'd had the day prior. And, come to find out, it was. I remember that during the troubleshooting and repair, I needed to ask Emma for her password. This is something that we typically do not do and support, but very specific issues with the authentication server,
Starting point is 02:02:48 sometimes require us to input the password from our systems. But it gets weirder. In this dream, I asked her for the password, and she told me that it was Purple Pangolin, with capital P's 619 exclamation point. Not exactly a common and easy-to-guess password. Now fast-forward a week, I get a call from Emma, and she tells me that she's having a really weird issue with her system. I walk over to her desk and we start talking about the problem.
Starting point is 02:03:25 Not once do I even think about the dream while this is happening. She starts telling me what's going on. I'm watching her go through the steps to replicate the issue, and then I grab my phone to shoot a text. The second I unlock my phone, I get hit with the memory of the dream rushing back to me. I'm just standing there staring at my phone, swimming in this awkward feeling of surreal deja vu.
Starting point is 02:03:53 I actually cut her off mid-sentence, not intentionally, but I did so, and I asked, Wait, Emma, I'm sorry, but is your password purple pangolin 619 exclamation mark? It was weird to ask, I know. And after I asked it, I felt increasingly, incredibly stupid, but Emma just kind of stared at me with her mouth open, like she was shocked.
Starting point is 02:04:22 She asked, how did you know that? Did you get that from watching me type it? I couldn't help but laugh, partly out of relief and then partly out of pure bewilderment. I responded with, you wouldn't believe me if I told you, and tried to just shake the moment off. I then mentioned that it was a good password, but since I knew it, I recommended changing it if she felt uncomfortable with me knowing it. And then I went through the steps to get the problem that she was having fixed. Afterwards, she kind of poked me to figure out how I knew her password, and I told her that I just kind of knew it.
Starting point is 02:05:06 Thankfully, she's not the type to think that I'm weird or anything for having this situation happen, And when I explained it to her, she laughed, and said that it was really crazy. Crazy as it was, I've been trying to rationalize this occurrence ever since. I've never experienced prophetic dreams or anything of the sort before, but the specificity of this dream, the password, the issue, the person, contacting an upper-level tech to confirm the issue, and the way that it played out in real life, it was nearly the same as the dream.
Starting point is 02:05:44 I can't seem to quite wrap my head around it. I know that dreams can be weird, that our brains can make something out of our daily lives, but this dream seemed like something else altogether. It's definitely left me questioning some things, much like the other stories you've told. Is our world really as solid and predictable as we would like to believe? Or is it more malleable, subject to unseen forces?
Starting point is 02:06:18 Whatever it may be, I'm not going to be forgetting this glitch anytime soon. That is, unless my own personal agent Smith comes around and wipes my memory. I have, for sure, died twice, quite possibly four times. Of the two I'm very confident in, The first one happened in about 1998, and the other in 2018 or so. In the first instance, my best friend and I were driving gravel backroads in the middle of the night, 40 miles between towns and rural South Dakota. I was admittedly going far too fast, and we came over a small rise,
Starting point is 02:07:12 and there was a tea in the road where you could turn left or right, but straight forward was a driveway for a farmhouse. The driveway went for about half a block or so, and then transitioned into a cornfield. I remember saying, ah, hell, and starting to slow down as we started flying through very tall corn. It was late summer, and the cornstalks were basically full-grown. The sound as my car plowed over the cornstalks and into the field sounded like the most vicious hailstorm ever. The experience was completely overwhelming to the senses. The sights and sounds of flying headlong at high speeds into a fully grown, densely planted cornfield
Starting point is 02:07:59 cannot be overstated. This is where things get weird. The next thing I remember was sitting at a stop sign where we would turn onto the main highway in the area. It was nearly completely silent, with only the light hum of the engine creating, any sound. This was at least several miles away from the field that we had just flown into. My blinker was on, to the left, and the car was just sitting there with my foot still on the brakes.
Starting point is 02:08:32 The lack of motion in dead silence was, for some reason, unknown, also absolutely overwhelming. I felt extremely disoriented and discombobulated, and honestly was not certain how I had come to this point, and was even concerned that perhaps I had blacked out or something. I just was not certain how we had arrived where we were currently sitting. At this point, I did not remember flying through that intersection or crashing through the cornfield. My memory was gone, either blocked or just unremembered. I looked over at my friend and again said,
Starting point is 02:09:12 What the hell? He had a dumbfounded look on his face as well and shrugged. his shoulders, then after a moment said, I think we go left. I actually got out of the car and found the Northern Star to make sure that we would be turning the correct direction onto the highway. I also surveyed the situation grasping for some semblance of understanding. We were surprisingly close to the town that I lived in at the time. In short order, we made it to my apartment, and both crashed as it was four in the morning, and we'd had a very long day.
Starting point is 02:09:49 I was dead sober for this entire experience, but I did not feel right, and I knew that something was amiss. We got up the next day, about mid-morning, and got back in my car to drive to my friend's town where he was attending college, which was going to be about a five-hour drive. We needed gas, and I stopped at the station to fill up
Starting point is 02:10:12 and get other miscellaneous supplies. My car that I was driving at the time was old enough to be using a bit of oil, so I almost always checked the oil. Again, at this moment, my memories of the cornfield and all that were completely gone. I popped the hood and went around to the front of the car to get at the engine. I lifted the hood and glanced down. I have never been so absolutely baffled and immediately enlightened at the same time. a light breeze would have knocked me over. The engine compartment was almost completely chock full of corn stalks.
Starting point is 02:10:53 My knees went weak and I became very, very heavy, and I felt the world performed several full spins. Once again, I very loudly and firmly proclaimed, What the hell? I called to my friend so he would come around to the front of the car. The very instant I was. I saw the cornstalks in the engine compartment the entire accident flashed back to me. I don't remember the point of death, but I remember all of the other details, including being very confused, sitting at the stop sign by the highway,
Starting point is 02:11:30 and the brutal contrast between flying through the field and sitting still at a stop sign. My friend said to me, do you remember? I said, yeah. We talked it over multiple times during our long drive, and we had the exact same memories. His memory also returned to him the second he saw the corn in the car as well. A couple months later, I tried to drive the same backroads that we had been driving to find that intersection, and the farmhouse and the driveway and the cornfield. There were a couple of very unique specific details to the location,
Starting point is 02:12:09 where the accident happened that should have made it very easy to recognize and find. I was never able to locate a spot like this on any of the roads anywhere around where we would have been driving. Microsoft had also just released their satellite imagery, and I scoured everywhere between those two cities. And I've never been able to find the location where we had our accident. I honestly don't think it exists. on this timeline. The other time, I was out in the middle of the night, again, in a very rural area during a thunderstorm,
Starting point is 02:12:47 to take lightning photos. I'm pretty sure that I saw the lightning bolt that killed me prior to my timeline jump. I remember sitting in the car and finishing my styrofoam cup of gas station coffee and hopping out of the car to smoke a cigarette and go to the restroom on the gravel road. Most of the lightning was several miles to the west, and it wasn't even actually raining where I was parked. I wasn't worried about the lightning safety at this point. Now, the very large power lines that take electricity to the town I was living in were right by this road.
Starting point is 02:13:23 I've been pretty close to a couple of lightning strikes, so I'm no stranger. I remember getting that very powerful static feeling in the hair on my head and arms started to stand up. I knew what was coming. I started to say, oh hell, I reached for the door hand on before I could even get my profanities out. I remember a profoundly huge snap sound and a blinding white light. The next thing I remember was sitting in my parked car with my nearly full cup of coffee in my hand. I remember thinking that I wanted to smoke a cigarette and needed to go, so I chugged the lukewarm coffee and started to get out of the car.
Starting point is 02:14:06 The second my feet hit the ground, I felt the most massive wave of deja vu I have ever experienced. I nervously glanced up beside the road to look at the power lines, but the spot that I had stopped previously was about a mile down the road, and the power lines had turned a corner and not followed the road down to this point. I glanced down the road to what I thought was the spot that I had previously been in, and just, as I looked down the road, lightning struck the power line in multiple massive flashes, and I even saw the lightning bolt jump down to the ground under the power line. Like I said, I'm pretty sure I witnessed the very lightning bolts that killed me. I have a couple of other experiences where I'm pretty sure I died,
Starting point is 02:14:57 but the situations were ambiguous enough that I'm not certain. So, you are not alone. and if you ask people around, you'll be surprised at the number of people who have confusing, odd experiences where things are not quite as they seem. There have been many people delighted to finally gain the proper vocabulary word to label their experience. Quantum Immortality This is a bit of a long story, but bear with me. So the day of October 4th, 2022 was a very strange one from the moment it began.
Starting point is 02:15:51 Myself and my husband and my daughter woke up around 5 p.m. This is not normal at all for us. Our day usually starts between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Also, there were no drugs or any kind of mood-altering substances, nor are we crazy. Upon waking up, I noticed that both my mom and dad, who are not together, nor do they talk to one another about this, and it's never happened before or after this day, texted me asking me if I was okay, because they had both seen that there was a wreck, and they both had a gut feeling that something bad had happened to me. coincidentally, we had to go right through where the wreck had been hours prior. When we got close to the area where the wreck happened, traffic came to a complete stop in all four lanes of traffic. We sat there, and my husband, out of nowhere, began crying.
Starting point is 02:16:54 And out of nowhere, I look at my husband and I tell him, someone died here. I told him that all day that day, the woman had to be that. The woman had this overwhelming urge to get home to the people she loved, and I saw the last thought that she had when she realized she was never going to make it home again. I went on to tell him the direction the woman was driving, the hairstyle she had. It was just something I knew that I knew. We both remember watching as the tow truck came up the hill, carrying the mangled car. The feeling of helplessness and overwhelming sadness was in the evening.
Starting point is 02:17:32 air. You could feel the death in the air. You could even smell it. It wasn't long at all after we watched the car get pulled away, that traffic began to move. And somehow we were the third car to go through the spots of the wreck.
Starting point is 02:17:49 The water was still falling down to the ground from the fire truck spraying off the roads, but it was as though the woman had grabbed onto me or something. I couldn't really explain it. I hadn't ever experienced anything like this before.
Starting point is 02:18:05 I don't remember much after that about the car ride, but fast forward to that night, my husband and I lay down watching a little TV and then drifting off to sleep. He was the big spoon, and we'd been laying like this for at least an hour under a thick comforter. Then, out of nowhere, I wake up to my husband shaking me, telling me that I was screaming, I'm dying, I'm dying, I'm dying. and while he was shaking me, he couldn't help but notice how unbelievably cold I was. This continued for the entire night.
Starting point is 02:18:40 Every time I would drift off to sleep, I would begin screaming, I'm dying, I'm dying. It was so bad that I was afraid to fall asleep. My husband and I have been together eight years and this is the only time this has ever happened. I couldn't help but begin to obsess over this car accident over the next few years. weeks, not just the accident, but the place that had happened as well. I began doing research, and just over the last three years, 23 people have died on this road. My husband also pointed out that, about a month before the wreck, we had gotten pulled over in
Starting point is 02:19:20 almost the exact spot of the wreck. A week or two after the wreck happened, I finally decided to Google it to see if what I had said the day of the wreck was correct. And to my shock, the news article was pretty much word for word exactly what I said the day of the wreck, before any articles had been written. The town where the wreck happened is in the Guinness Book of World Records. My husband and I actually ended up getting a job where we worked third shift, and we had to go past the wreck site almost daily.
Starting point is 02:19:55 And what we began to notice was the strangest thing. One night, at around 2 a.m., on our way into work, my husband said, Look, baby, there's a guy up there in the waterfall with the flashlight. Mind you, it was also storming, and this is on the last natural limestone ever created on this planet. A few weeks go by, and our lives haven't stopped getting we're getting weirder since the day of that wreck. When we were on our way into work again around 2 a.m., it was storming, and I look over to the shoulder. There's a guy going uphill in a wheelchair in a snowstorm.
Starting point is 02:20:35 And there's a few miles before the nearest house. We also noticed there's a power plant in the woods that's different from the LG&E plant down the road. On another evening we saw a woman walking uphill with a dog again in a snowstorm. It seems to always play a factor that when we see these strange things, It's always some sort of nasty weather. Also, it's worth mentioning that immediately in the weeks after this, I became obsessed with making sure that our car had survival stuff in it.
Starting point is 02:21:10 I had a blanket for all three of us, stop-lead, road flares, jumper cables, hand-and-feed, water bottles, some food, toilet paper, phone chargers, charger banks, and even an extra cell phone. I was obsessed at this point with the wreck, with where the wreck happened, and wanting the truth finally. I did some deep research on anything and everything I could find. Eventually, I found some extremely interesting declassified CIA documents about Hemisink and the Gateway Experience. We began to Hemisink, and that's when answers almost immediately began to begin. coming to us.
Starting point is 02:21:56 Almost as soon as we hemisinked, we had the strangest thing happen. We went to my husband's mom's house, and then the grocery store. My phone had been in my purse since we left our house, and I didn't retrieve it from my purse until we returned home. When we got home that night, we had groceries to carry in, and on this night, it was bone-chilling cold out. As we began to bring the groceries inside, my husband pointed into the trees in our backyard, and there was a dancing light.
Starting point is 02:22:31 It's the only way I can think to describe it. I was taken aback by this dancing light that came out of nowhere. We live in a very rural area, where there was no way that this was someone playing a joke or something. I stayed outside for about two hours, and we actually ended up noticing that there were two, of these dancing lights outside of our house. We could actually hear them speaking to us, but only telepathic. Then my husband had to finally drag me inside.
Starting point is 02:23:04 It got weirder, because when I walked inside, on my TV, it was telling us that we had just seen an extraterrestrial. It was explaining exactly what we had just seen. I even took a video with my husband's phone, but strangely, after I took the video and we watched it back, my husband's phone locked up and would not unlock. His phone stayed like that for the next several hours,
Starting point is 02:23:33 until I heard a voice tell me to try it again. Also, this voice told me that I had to delete the video because it wasn't for us to show anyone. I picked up his phone, and his phone unlocked instantly without me putting his password into it. I deleted the video and went up. on with my night. We began to hear that everything was happening simultaneously, all at once right then.
Starting point is 02:23:59 The day after we saw the light dancing, I was on my phone when I noticed a picture from the previous day of what I'm going to call a tinkerbell, or possibly the two entities together. Really? My husband and I knew that we were talking to ourselves in the reverse universe. We got a spirit box recorder to make it easier. to communicate with them. We recorded the conversation and found it very odd, but we couldn't understand a lot of what was being said, because it sounded as though it was being said in reverse. I actually have the photo from the previous day during a time when my phone never came out of my purse
Starting point is 02:24:40 and of the conversation that we had. My husband and I began to collect crystals. We started looking into sacred geometry. We started diving into our chakras. Since the very beginning of our relationship, my husband has always told me the secrets to the universe. And honestly, I wanted to tell him he was crazy. But somehow I knew what he was telling me for years had to be true. Sometime in December, my husband had to renew his license,
Starting point is 02:25:12 so he went to the driver's license office and renewed his license. A few weeks later, my husband had to renew his license. husband goes to check the mailbox and finds that not only does he have his license, but he received a second ID from a day earlier. And what's even stranger is that the photo on the second license is different from the ID he had to renew, and from the ID that he had ordered. Where did this driver's license come from? And where did that picture come from?
Starting point is 02:25:43 One day, I randomly started my free trial on Gaia and found Galactic Messages. the star seeds that are in the Earth's orbit trying to help wake us up. Things from this point just get stranger and stranger. We began watching more and more of these videos. I began downloading all the knowledge that I already knew. Then, one day, my husband came to me and I could feel his energy, and the sadness emanating from him. He looked me in my eyes and told me that he'd figured it out.
Starting point is 02:26:19 He finally figured out what happened to us on the hill that day of the wreck. Just as serious as he could, he looked at me and told me, We died in that car accident that day, but we didn't realize it because we just skipped off into a new universe. I looked at him confused, and I kind of chuckled because, after all, I was right there talking to him, so I couldn't be dead. Could I? I couldn't shake the feeling
Starting point is 02:26:49 I got from him telling me that news so a few days later I decided to Google my name to see if I could find anything to help me put the pieces together but my husband was sure that I shouldn't do this I of course didn't listen and I went on with Googling my name but nothing could have prepared me for what I found the very first article that I found said that Elena Padgett died on October 4th
Starting point is 02:27:17 which just so happens to be the date of the wreck. But even more strange was the Elena Paget that died on October 4th was from Texas. I also used to live in Texas. She had two children, which I have two children. And her kids' names are Callie and Louie, which just so happens to be my aunt's husband's name and her cat's name. And we're from Kentucky, but my aunt and her husband were the only family we had that lived in Texas. I went as white as a ghost.
Starting point is 02:27:50 He could literally see the air leave my body as I began to process what I had just seen. My husband tells me that he won't ever be able to forget the feeling I made him feel the moment I finally realized that I had died, but was still alive. My husband hadn't googled my name either. Shortly after this revelation, my husband had this overwhelming feeling that he needed to paint a picture one even. So he spent the next hour or so painting this picture, and the moment he walked into the room with me, the exact picture he had to paint was on the TV screen. And since that day, that exact picture has been in so many videos that we have watched. While watching some of the videos from the Tejetans, they were telling us about portals, but more importantly about a portal in a town where all of the parking is done on one side, where car wrecks are extremely common.
Starting point is 02:28:51 And, as I mentioned, the town where the wreck happened was in the Guinness Book of World Records, for being the only city to be only on one side of the road. Then, I noticed that the picture for the video about quantum computers looks exactly like the view of the gold vault from above. Scientists are cracking the answers to our universe.
Starting point is 02:29:13 They have figured out the two-slit experiment. We're nothing more than a light reflecting off of a holographic plate. Some of us are here on a special mission in an Emerson pod, and this really is all just a game we all choose to play and learn on a sole level. So, what do you guys think? Was this a glitch? Or was this quantum immortality? We are all frequencies,
Starting point is 02:29:40 and everything in this world is a vibration. We really do control. our reality. I have a story that, I guess, is a glitch. But to me at the time, it was just a really strange and terrifying thing that happened. It happened way before I knew what a glitch in the Matrix was, and before anyone had ever thought of the term simulation theory. But looking at it now,
Starting point is 02:30:18 the only thing that makes it make sense is that something happened, like a glitch. For some obvious disclaimers, I am healthy, was healthy at the time, wasn't drunk or on drugs, and this is the only time something like this has ever happened. I never mentioned it to anyone else at the time, because it happened and that was it. Nothing ever came of it, or anything like that. When this happened, I was a freshman in high school, so that would have made me about 15, I think. and this would also put the story back in the early 80s. I was your normal high school student, maintaining good grades,
Starting point is 02:31:00 attending all my classes and all that irrelevant information. On the day that this happened, everything was what I would consider to be completely normal. There was nothing that happened during the day that would make me think that anything was off. I had gotten through most of the day. It was after lunch period, and I was walking in the hallway toward,
Starting point is 02:31:21 my next class. I had my backpack on my back, and I had one of my books in my arms. I was just walking through the crowds and trying to ignore all the noise around me, of which there was a lot. I think anyone that's walked through a full high school hallway can understand how that sounds, and while that may not sound important, it actually is.
Starting point is 02:31:46 The hallways were loud, filled with the chatter of all the people that were heading to class. But that's where it got weird. As I turned the corner to go to my next class, my ears picked up on the fact that it was silent. Like it went from super loud to completely silent in the time it took me to step around the corner and into the next hallway.
Starting point is 02:32:10 As I was walking around the corner, I was kind of looking down at the floor, not at where I was walking. So it wasn't like I could see the group of people just disappear, but it felt like the filled. hallways quickly became empty. In this same moment, as I went to look up, I collided with something, or rather some one. I could tell it was a person that I ran into based on the collision.
Starting point is 02:32:36 I fell to the ground and blinked, and when I went to stand up, I realized I wasn't in the hallway anymore. I was sitting on the floor of my living room. I know that that sounds weird, but I went from walking. in the school hallway to my next class, to colliding with someone, and when I landed, I was on the floor in my house. I had actually collided with someone. It was actually my mother that I ran into. She asked if I was okay and helped me up, but as soon as she saw that I was okay, she started asking me what happened and how I didn't see her walking into the room. I just shook my head and told her that I wasn't paying attention.
Starting point is 02:33:22 But the whole time that I was talking to her, my head was spinning, trying to piece together how I was at home. She finished up her small lecture by telling me to pay more attention to what's in front of me and saying that I needed to go get dressed or else I would be late for school. Sure enough, I was still in my pajamas, and it was morning, based on the clock on the oven. I went to my room and got dressed and just kind of sat there like, what in the name of God just happened? How did I end up at home? And that was kind of it.
Starting point is 02:34:00 I got ready for school and I left as normal. The lessons when I got to school weren't repeats, so it wasn't like I had repeated the day or anything like that. It was more like I went from mid-afternoon on one day to morning on the next in the time it took me to run into someone and fall down. I don't know how. I don't know why. And I kind of just took it to be what it was.
Starting point is 02:34:26 It's one of those events that I have never forgotten, but I decided that I had to just accept that sometimes things happen, that we honestly cannot explain. I have what I guess is a pretty minor glitch, but it was definitely bizarre enough for me to think. think that sharing it was a good idea. I've heard and read a lot of these glitch stories, and
Starting point is 02:35:00 honestly, I think the small ones, like the one that I experienced, are the most scary. Mostly because it seems like they could happen at any time to anyone. Don't get me wrong, I love hearing the stories about quantum immortality and
Starting point is 02:35:16 such, but the small ones, where the seemingly mundane thing seems to happen, to me, are the scariest. I'm actually still trying to fully wrap my head around what exactly it was that happened to me. A few weeks ago, I was sitting in a local coffee shop, waiting for a few of my friends to arrive. We like to all get together once a week and hang out for a couple of hours with a cup of coffee.
Starting point is 02:35:45 On this particular morning, they were rather busy. So, I had grabbed the table in the corner, near the front of the building where the windows were that were open to the sidewalk. Basically, from where I was sitting, I could see everyone walking in, out, and past the building. Because I was the first person there, and I was just waiting, I was people watching as everyone walked either into the coffee shop or passed it to get to the business next door. One of the people that I saw was a lovely-looking young woman that was walking towards the coffee shop, but looked like she was going to head.
Starting point is 02:36:24 head past it. She was wearing a bright green jacket and a purple dress, and she had very vivid red hair that was tied back in a ponytail. I remember this outfit specifically, because I thought it looked really nice, and she honestly looked absolutely stunning, and something about her just seemed friendly and approachable. Not that I was going to bug her or anything, she just had that aura about her, like she was a nice and very vivacious person based upon the vividness of color that she was wearing. As she got closer to the window where I was sitting, something really weird started to happen, though. I won't say that she was at the window. She still had a ways to go to actually pass me, but she was getting closer.
Starting point is 02:37:14 For lack of a better word, she completely started to glitch out. I was watching her, but part of me felt like to be. compelled to look away. Like, I needed to not see her or what was going to happen. But I did watch. And it was actually kind of creepy. I felt like, as I was blinking, she was changing into a different person almost in real time.
Starting point is 02:37:42 If I wasn't certain of my own health, I would honestly think that I was having some sort of major hallucination. Because her face changed, her hair color changed, and her jacket changed. You know those cars that change color as you pass them? It almost felt like that kind of transition. Like she was one person, but as the light shifted, she turned into someone totally different.
Starting point is 02:38:09 Obviously, I was trying to process what the hell was happening, but by the time it fully hit me that she had become someone else, she was already walking past me. She went from having that warm, red hair. to having blonde hair. Her green jacket became black, and her face wasn't quite as inviting. Like she went from a smiling and approachable person to someone that looked a bit more stern and serious. I don't just mean that she changed emotions, but she completely changed how she looked.
Starting point is 02:38:45 The only thing that remained the same was that purple dress. It was still purple by the end of all this. I actually got up and went to the restroom to get a grip on myself because I was thinking that maybe I was losing it. After splashing some water on my face and shaking it all off, I was certain that I just saw a person shift into another person right in front of my eyes. That's about all I was certain of.
Starting point is 02:39:15 I didn't know how or why, but I knew that that's what happened. It was nothing shy. of bizarre. And I feel like I saw something that I probably shouldn't have. Has anyone else ever experienced an event like this? I have never personally
Starting point is 02:39:34 heard a glitch story like this, so if anyone else has, I would love some input. I jumped timelines in a car accident. So, this happened when I was fresh 18. I'm 24 now,
Starting point is 02:40:00 and at the time I was living in Florida with my dad and stepmom. My now husband, boyfriend at the time, was in jail with no chance of getting out. The day of the accident, I had gotten into an argument with my dad. He told me that I had to leave the house. So the plan was that I was going to go stay at my boyfriend's parents' house until I could get on my feet. I left my dad's house in Florida, and I started. started on my way to Georgia. I did have this feeling saying not to go,
Starting point is 02:40:36 and the signs were always there, but I just ignored them. Like, when I stopped at the gas station and left my keys in the car for two hours. Still, those two guys who got through the window for me, bless them. They were working, doing Uber, and they stopped to help. Anyways, I was traveling back roads from Florida to Georgia. I made it to Albany when a wave of anger and sadness hit me. Maybe I knew what was about to happen. I just could not stop crying.
Starting point is 02:41:12 When I noticed I passed the first stop sign at a four-way, I told myself that I had to slow down. But by the time the next four-way came, I turned to look out the driver window, and saw an 18-wheeler coming for me. Now, this is where things go absolutely wrong. I remember vividly seeing an 18-wheeler approach me, my vision cut probably from the shock,
Starting point is 02:41:40 so I never felt the sensation of being hit. But when I woke up, I was over half a mile and spun out down the road, and someone was trying to give me water. The space between the just, driver's side door and the middle console was about an inch and a half. That's where I was sitting, so when the EMTs came,
Starting point is 02:42:04 they had to pull me out of the passenger side door. It wasn't until I got on the stretcher that I felt everything, and I couldn't breathe. On the way to the hospital in Albany, I just remember saying, I can't breathe a thousand times. When I got to the hospital, they immediately put me in the SICU, because I had a hole the size of a softball in my lung and the glass was sitting in it.
Starting point is 02:42:32 My pelvis, tailbone, an entire left side of my rib cage was broken. I remember telling the nurse to call my mom, my dad, my in-laws. My mom lived in Louisiana at the time, but she drove from Louisiana to Georgia. That was all I heard before going to sleep in the SICU. The next cognitive memory that I have is waking up, and my mom being there. I had apparently slept for three days and was still in the SICU. When I woke up, the doctor and the nurse came in and let me know that my lung had closed up miraculously overnight, seemingly, and that my fractures weren't too bad to heal from, and that I was lucky to be alive.
Starting point is 02:43:18 I asked about the glass in my lungs. The doctor didn't know what I was talking about. I asked about the broken ribs, pelvis, and tailbone, and he said they had always been fractures. I asked about the accident, and it wasn't an 18-wheeler. It was a Dodge Ram with a massive grill in the front. I was just in shock at this point. I spent 11 total days in the hospital. It was difficult to walk with the fractures, and I stayed with my mother for a month while I recovered.
Starting point is 02:43:51 That is, until, somehow, my now husband was eligible for bond? I never asked questions. I moved in with him the same day that he was released, and we've been married ever since August of 2016. Minor things are different now and then. My mom doesn't remember a lot of what I did growing up, but my father, in this new reality, had a terminal illness. He'd gotten a plastic anemia.
Starting point is 02:44:21 which very quickly turned into leukemia, and he died within seven months. That breaks me. It was extremely fast on set, and it makes me beg the question, was it a life for a life? I probably died, once, if not twice, and to restore balance, a life had to be taken. So, I know that this sounds odd, but just stick with me. The first time this happened,
Starting point is 02:45:00 was about five years ago. One thing to know is that I really like scary movies, but mostly because I can recognize the patterns. They have interesting plots, and I don't get scared easily. Anyways, on the night that this happened, my family and I, my mom, her boyfriend, and sister, had decided to watch the original Blair Witch movie since my mom really liked it,
Starting point is 02:45:26 and neither my sister nor I had seen it. We watch the movie, turn on the lights, and everyone is joking about the iconic snot bubble and whatnot. My sister and I then go to the bathroom. She was pretty young at this point and still got scared pretty easily. And when we return for the bathroom, the entire living room is pitch black. And my mom and her boyfriend are nowhere to be seen. Not only that, but the vibe in the room has noticeably shifted, and it's freaky quiet. at first I thought they were trying to prank or scare us, so I started calling out for them and saying things like,
Starting point is 02:46:06 Hey guys, not funny, my sister's still really scared, and, okay, jokes up, sister is starting to freak out. And this continues for a good three to five minutes. During this time, my sister is actually freaking out because we just watched a scary movie about people disappearing, and now her protectors are mysteriously missing. And the mood in the room is now rancid. After those minutes passed, it's like we both blinked, and then all the sudden we were back in the brightly lit living room, and my mom and her boyfriend were sitting exactly where they were when we left,
Starting point is 02:46:49 and we're looking at us super concerned. Obviously, both my sister and I are thoroughly freaked out by this point, and I confirm with her that she did, in fact, also just experience what I did. My mom and her boyfriend are trying to console us, and, to be honest, I highly doubt they actually believed us. We got through the night without any other weirdness, but my sister and I will not forget that night for a very long time. Of course, just one weird glitch like that would have been more than enough for me during this lifetime, but the multiverse seems to have different plans. So, the next time a glitch like this occurred was about six-ish months ago
Starting point is 02:47:34 when I was re-watching the newer version of Blair Witch, the 2016 version, with my roommate. While we were watching the movie, everything was fine and nothing was weird. Neither one of us got particularly scared, and I had decided to call it a night. Before heading to bed, I wanted to get my work clothes washed and dried, so I started doing that. By this point, my roommate had left to go to her room. Important note, this was a student apartment,
Starting point is 02:48:08 so it was laid out with the living room, where we watched the movie, in the front with a partially enclosed kitchen next to it. Next to the kitchen was a small hallway that had a small laundry closet on one side, and my room on the opposite. and then two bedrooms at the end of the hall. In order for my roommates to get to the living room, from her room,
Starting point is 02:48:30 she would have had to have walked directly in front of or behind me. As I'm putting my laundry in the washer, I look and see my roommate's door cracked and can hear her on the phone with her mom. So I just go back to my business and finish loading everything up. After I'm done, I look into the living room one last time to make sure I didn't need to put anything else away, and, like the time before,
Starting point is 02:48:56 it's pitch black in the room and the vibes are suddenly very not good. I can't see the streetlight that is usually shining through the living room. It's freaky quiet, and I can't hear my roommate on the phone anymore. While taking this all in and trying to figure out what the hell is going on, I'm standing in the middle of the hallway, essentially blocking the path, and have not moved from the long.
Starting point is 02:49:20 closet. Then, like last time, I blinked and all the sudden my roommate is sitting on the couch watching TV, asking me why I'm just standing there staring at her. I still have absolutely no clue why this continues to happen to me, or why it has something to do with the Blair Witch franchise, but I think it's safe to say that I will be avoiding the franchise for the rest of my life. I don't think my brain could survive another glitch like one of these. Howdy Raven. I have a couple of short ones that, until recently, just thought of them as things that happened to people. A little set up to the two stories.
Starting point is 02:50:12 It was in 99, and I was living with 11 roommates because we were all too poor to get into any place on our own. Our landlord didn't care, as long as the rent came in and we took care of the place. It was a three-bedroom house, and three of us shared one of the upstairs bedside. room, we had two queen-sized beds in this one room, and all of our stuff was sectioned off from each other. What this means is that it was hard to lose things with our organization. Story one. So my buddy had gotten into a program at college that he'd been hoping for, and I had just
Starting point is 02:50:51 gotten a new job doing security. So we had reasons to celebrate, thinking we wanted something to commemorate our service. success, we decided to buy Zippo lighters. These, at this time, in my group, were seen as an extravagant thing to have. So, we went to the local smoke shop and looked for the ones that we wanted. He found one that looked like a pack of cigarettes and was orange with nails in it. I think it was from some movie. I bought one that had Betty Page on it.
Starting point is 02:51:26 That was gray except for the picture. I had a class in college that had talked about how she had been exploited, and I knew that all of the recent merch being sold was supposed to go to taking care of her in her old age. It is important to note that these were distinctly different. We went home and promptly one of us lost one. I can't remember who it happened to first, but this was the start of an odd cycle. We both could not have our lighters at the same. same time. When one of us lost one lighter, the other one would find theirs. It was like the
Starting point is 02:52:07 lighters shared the same code in the game, and when one asset was being used, the other had to disappear. I know that this sounds weird, but when that buddy moved out to his own place, he found nails and I lost Betty, only to have this reversed a few days later when I found Betty. These lighters were not even in the same house anymore and were still swapping places. We bought these from the same store at the same time, and after bringing them home, they were never in the same place at the same time ever again. I never really thought of this as a glitch until recently. I just figured it was something strange that happened in a house full of roommates. Story two, while living in the same house, I would misplace
Starting point is 02:52:56 stuff all of the time. I never thought about it too much because, with that many people living together, it was bound to happen. What ended up being strange was that I would find things I thought I had lost before moving in. I left home in kind of a hurry. I didn't take all my stuff, just my clothes in a box of comic books. I would lose a shirt, only to find a toy from my childhood. This would happen often enough that people gave a name to the entity that would do this. Pockets. This, pockets, would take something of mine only to leave something of mine in return. I never thought of this as a glitch until recently.
Starting point is 02:53:41 I moved a lot growing up. I went to five different high schools in three years. I averaged moving at least once every two years. Not small moves either, but states. The shortest took two days. of travel. What I mean to say is that maybe whenever my inventory was checked,
Starting point is 02:54:02 it was out of date or something, and then they would try to correct it. This would then leave an old item in place of a newer one. I realized this when it hadn't happened in a while. I've lived in the same general area for many years now, so maybe my inventory has finally caught up. Neither way, thank you for your time. and I hope that these qualify as glitches.
Starting point is 02:54:39 I have what I consider a glitch of some sort from way back whenever I was a very young boy. This was a long time ago, and I'm not going to get into the actual numbers of how old I was. I will just say that this was a very different time than what we're in now. I was in elementary school, and, to put it delicately, I was of a different skin color than most of the people that went to this school. And because of that, I was quite frequently picked on or bullied by some of the kids in my class. For the most part, I could handle it. My parents always gave me the Be Better Than Them speech and told me that I couldn't retaliate.
Starting point is 02:55:23 But there were these two boys in particular that were absolutely nasty to me. I won't name them here, because they don't deserve to have their names even listed in this story. but I'll call them T and M. T and M were the two biggest boys in class. Both of them were overweight big, not like muscles big. Of course, this was elementary school, so it's not like anyone really had much of a build to them. They seemed to latch on to the fact that they could bully me and get away with it for the most part, so that's exactly what they did, and they did it frequently.
Starting point is 02:56:03 I was usually pretty good about looking over my shoulder and avoiding them, but I can't even begin to tell you how often they would find me when I was trying to stay away from them. Anyways, this isn't really about them being bullies. This is about the one time that's something strange that I can't explain happened to me, and it's actually what seemed to stop their bullying. In this particular instance, I had gone to the restroom as I normally would, And, of course, while I was doing what I needed to do, both T and M walked in together. I'm just standing there in a pretty awful way because I knew that this was not going to end well. I knew what they were likely going to do to me. T walked over to me and said whatever bull that he said,
Starting point is 02:56:54 and M went to check the stalls to make sure there was no one else in there. Of course there wasn't. It was just these two and myself, much to my misfortune. T starts to push me and taunt me M starts laughing at the whole thing and after getting shoved to the ground and kicked a few times M makes a comment saying that they should shove my head in one of the toilets and see if I can breathe underwater.
Starting point is 02:57:20 At this point, there wasn't really much that I could do to stop them. I was already pretty well beat up and I was much smaller than they were so no matter how much I struggled they were going to do what they were going to do. M grabs me to pick me up, T grabs my arms and they start shoving me into one of the first stalls, when out of nowhere a booming voice shouts from the back stall of the restroom,
Starting point is 02:57:46 put him down. We all three look, and the door to that stall is now shut, but I can see what look like church pants and shoes from under the stall wall. The two other boys pause for a moment to think about their action, and the voice starts in again, saying, If you hurt that boy any more than you have or ever again, I will find the both of you and you will regret the day you were born. At this point, I think they were confused and freaked out.
Starting point is 02:58:17 They had absolutely checked the stalls. I watched M shove all the doors open to make sure there was no one there to stop their attack. And I knew that I was alone in the restroom before they walked in. T. T ended up just shoving me to the ground and the two of the boys nearly ran out of the restroom. Like, something about this actually scared them. After they left, the man in the stall told me that I would be okay, and that from that moment on they would never touch me again.
Starting point is 02:58:46 I started asking how he knew that, but when I blinked, he was gone. The stall door was now unlocked and open, and there were no feet under the door. I literally blinked and he just disappeared. I have no idea what that was. If it was someone from the future or another timeline coming back to help me out of this situation, if it was a guardian angel or what. But it saved me that day. Much to my surprise, M and T never touched me again.
Starting point is 02:59:20 They never even came near me. Whoever or whatever that was, it absolutely saved me, potentially saved my life, and it scared them enough to make them stop attacking me altogether. So I guess I should say thank you to the Matrix for sending that agent at that moment to protect me. I do work on houses that are being built, doing inspections and checks on wiring and various other things.
Starting point is 03:00:01 I work on a fairly small team of four guys, and for the most part, it's usually just myself and my boss on a job, since I'm the senior member of the team, and we can get a job done pretty quickly. Some parts of my job require me to get up into nooks and crannies of homes that are still being put together, and usually, if I have to cram myself into one of these areas to do a wire check,
Starting point is 03:00:29 I'll grab my cell phone and use it as a flashlight, because I don't own an actual flashlight. It's 2023. My phone can replace a lot of my tools, so why shouldn't it? Anyways, on the day that this seriously crazy event happened, my boss and I went to Taco Bell for breakfast before we went out to our job. But we went through the drive-thru. We didn't actually go in to the restaurant.
Starting point is 03:00:59 We got our food, which I will say was. was horribly unhealthy, and was something we should not have done, and got to our job. We sat at a partially built kitchen counter and ate, and were talking about various aspects of what we needed to confirm that day, and what we needed to completely finish. We finish our breakfast, get our stuff together, and get to work. Throughout the day, I had to use my phone as a flashlight, and to call into the office for information, as well as text my wife. It was in my hand for a good amount of the day, up until around one when my boss and I decided we were going to take a lunch break. I put my phone down on the counter and we both head outside to just sit and drink our soda on the front step.
Starting point is 03:01:47 It was pretty common for us to get breakfast and just relax for a bit on our lunch break, so we weren't planning on going anywhere or anything like that. After the 45 minutes or so is up, my boss stands up and says, All right, let's get back to it. We should be able to finish this job out in a couple of hours, and maybe we can head out a bit early. I nodded, saying that sounded like a good plan, and we walked back in.
Starting point is 03:02:16 After a couple of minutes, I needed my phone, and reached down to my pockets, and it wasn't there. After a couple of moments, I remembered that I had, put my phone down on the kitchen counter just before we took our break. And I told my boss that I needed to run downstairs to go get it. I ran down to the kitchen and it wasn't there. My phone was not on the counter. I was a bit concerned, but we were the only two on the job,
Starting point is 03:02:48 and the house was built to the point that it had walls and doors, so there was no way that someone could have snuck on to the job and stolen my phone. So I figured that my boss may have been playing a prank on me and had grabbed it earlier to mess with me. I ran back up the stairs and asked if he had my phone. He shook his head saying no. I mentioned that it wasn't on the counter and he asked if I may have grabbed it and put it somewhere else and just forgotten. I didn't think that was the case, but then I asked him if he could call the phone real quick so I could try to find it. He agreed, grabbed his cell phone and died. He grabbed his cell phone and dialed.
Starting point is 03:03:28 And I could not hear it ringing. I definitely had it on ring, not vibrate, for safety reasons on the job, and it was not ringing. It was ringing on my boss's side, though, so it was definitely on. It went to voicemail at first, and I asked him if he could call it again, and he did. But that's where things got really weird. After a couple of rings, someone actually answered the phone. At first, my boss pulled his phone away from his face to make sure he called the right number, and he had.
Starting point is 03:04:09 He then asked who he was speaking with, and the person said that they were an employee at Taco Bell, and that they had found this phone sitting on the sink in the restroom and asked if we were the owners. My boss stared at me and just sort of said, Yeah, we were trying to find the phone. You said it's at Taco Bell? The one at the intersection where we got breakfast. Right? And the woman confirmed.
Starting point is 03:04:39 She said that she would keep it behind the counter if we could come and get it. My manager said that we would be right there. Needless to say, this was confusing as hell. How did my phone end up at top? Taco Bell, much less the restroom of Taco Bell. We didn't go in, so I didn't go into the restroom. I'd used the phone a couple of times while we had been working the job that day, and I swear I sent a text to my wife.
Starting point is 03:05:11 My manager told me to go ahead and go get it, since it was only a couple of minutes away, and I did. And when I got it, I checked to see if the text messages were there. They weren't. The battery was also at 95%, which, if I'd been using my flashlight like I had been, was impossible. There's no way that I was using my boss's phone at the job, as he was definitely using it. I swear that I had it at the house, and I swear that I left it on the counter before we stepped out for a few minutes, but it somehow had teleported to a Taco Bell restroom that I didn't go in,
Starting point is 03:05:52 a couple of miles down the road. Okay, so it's taken me a while to come to terms with what happened. And even now, I'm left with more questions than answers. I'm hoping that by sharing this story, someone may say, hey, that happened to me too, or perhaps I can gain some insight into the nature of reality itself. And if not, maybe getting this story out into the world will do something good. good for my mental state. Let me start by giving just a little bit of background, probably not fully relevant. At the time that this happened, I was a university student living off
Starting point is 03:06:44 campus with a couple of roommates. We were all pretty close, and would often hang out together when we had free time. Our apartment was situated in a fairly quiet residential neighborhood, and I would frequently walk to and from campus, which took about 20 minutes. at most. One day, I had a late-night study session at the library, and I decided to head home around a bit before midnight. The streets were obviously deserted, and the only sound was the distant hum of traffic on the highway.
Starting point is 03:07:18 As I made my way through the familiar streets, just making my short trip from point A to point B, I kept getting this really weird feeling like something was off. It felt like I was being weird. watched or stared at. I chalked it up to my overactive imagination and the eerieness of the empty streets and just continued on my way. As I approached an intersection, I noticed a woman standing on the opposite corner. I couldn't make out all of her details, but she had shoulder-length brown hair and a beige coat. I didn't recognize her, but I could tell that there was something unsettling about her presence.
Starting point is 03:07:59 She seemed to be looking straight at me, and as our eyes met, I kind of felt sick to my stomach. I shook it off and just went ahead across the street as I was planning and continued on. However, as I rounded the next corner, I was met with a sight that made my heart skip a beat. That same woman was standing on the opposite corner,
Starting point is 03:08:26 staring directly at me. I couldn't believe my eyes. There was no way that she could have reached that corner before me. At this point, I was really feeling a bit uneasy, so I decided to take a detour and cut through an alley that would lead me to a different, more populated street. I hoped that by changing my route, I could shake this odd feeling. Unfortunately, my plan did not work. Once again, at the next intersection, I ran into that same. woman and every time she would look up and stare at me and give me that same nauseous feeling by this point I was starting to panic I felt like I was trapped in some kind of messed up loop it was seriously impossible for me to have run into the same person like this at numerous intersections and honestly the night air was starting to feel oppressive and suffocating it was likely just panic but it felt
Starting point is 03:09:27 like I was being crushed under the pressure of the air. At this point, I decided to just make a run for it to get back to my home. I sprinted down the street, my heart pounding in my chest, and I struggled to take deep breaths. I swear I could feel the woman's presence behind me, like she was chasing me as fast as I was running, but she was never there behind me. After sprinting at full speed, I ended up getting to a park that was connected to the property where our apartment was, and it was almost relieving. I knew what this was.
Starting point is 03:10:04 I knew that this was close to home and that I was done. As I paused to catch my breath, I kept getting this weird urge to look back, and I really didn't want to, but I felt that I had to. I did. And of course, at the back edge of the park opposite from where I had entered, she was standing there, staring at me. To say that I was freaked out would be an understatement. I said screw it and ran to my building just thinking that getting home would be enough to break me away from this lady.
Starting point is 03:10:38 When I arrived at my apartment, my roommates were still awake, and I immediately shared my story with them. They listened with a mix of concern and disbelief, and we spent the rest of the night discussing various theories about what could have caused this glitch. one of them suggested that it could have been an hallucination, or maybe it was a set of triplets out there just really messing with people, but my other roommate was more into thinking that it was some kind of paranormal encounter or weird alternate dimension stuff. I don't know which it was, but it definitely felt more paranormal. Hence, why I'm saying this was likely a glitch of some sort.
Starting point is 03:11:21 It was like that woman was some kind of real life, Agent Smith or something, just watching me. In the days that followed, I was perfectly fine. But the memory of that woman kept kind of messing with me. I kept feeling like I should look over my shoulder and then she would be there. I only saw someone that looked like her one other time, had a Walmart of all places, but this woman didn't pay any attention to me at all. She was shopping, and she didn't notice me, so...
Starting point is 03:11:55 I don't think that she was the woman from that night. As time has gone on, I've become much less paranoid, but I still have so many questions. Who the hell was that woman? Why was she staring at me? And what was pretty much everything else that happened about that night? It was a really weird, terrifying glitch for me to go through, and I will honestly never forget how it made me feel to see her, and how each time it honestly felt worse.
Starting point is 03:12:29 I may never know the answers to my questions, but one thing is certain. My encounter with the woman has seriously changed the way that I view reality. I now find myself questioning the very nature of our existence, and the delicate balance that holds our world together. And I can't help but wonder if, one day, I'll once again find myself coming up to an intersection, looking up and see her standing there again. I've been a long-time listener to glitch stories over multiple podcasts,
Starting point is 03:13:12 and I've always enjoyed them. They're definitely my favorite type of paranormal-like stories. I have one event that I'm pretty certain was a glitch, but it's something that has bothered me ever since it happened. The story actually begins with my childhood best friend, whom I'll call Sasha for the sake of privacy. Sasha and I grew up in the same neighborhood, and we were absolutely inseparable from the day that we met in kindergarten
Starting point is 03:13:41 up to the day that she moved just before freshman year. We shared countless memories. The main and most important one to this story is when she turned 12. On her 12th birthday, her dad had bought her an acoustic guitar. because she claimed that she wanted to learn how to play it. After that day, Sasha had spent hours each week learning how to play it, and between then and the day that they moved away, she had learned how to play it really well.
Starting point is 03:14:17 She was absolutely talented, to the point that she could listen to a song a couple of times and could easily start strumming the notes of the song or tell what tuning the song was in. Basically, she was on her way to become a guitar prodigy. The next year I had actually gotten a little drum set that was basically a single snare, a bass drum, and a symbol, and I sucked at it.
Starting point is 03:14:45 But we had plans to start a band someday. And I even remember the band's name. We were going to call ourselves Blue Rock, because it sounded cool to our young brain. Then, just before freshman year, her dad ended up getting a job off her out of state, and they ended up having to move to another state. We promised that we would always be friends and that we would keep in touch, but, of course, as things go, we ended up losing touch. Fast forward to about a year ago, I was sitting on Facebook and thinking about some old friends that I had lost communications with. and Sasha's name came to mind.
Starting point is 03:15:31 I went and searched for her, and I did find her. Her account was private, but I knew that face anywhere, so I immediately sent her a friend request. When she accepted, I went over and started scrolling to see what she had been doing with her life. And I was sad to see that there were no mentions of her musical talent, no mentions or videos of her with a guitar. Instead, she seemed to have a bunch of photos of paintings and food.
Starting point is 03:16:04 I figured that she may have just shifted interests as she grew up. It's a bit disappointing, but it is what it is. I sent her a message and thought that I would be funny. I said, Hey, now that we're connected again, do you want to go ahead and get Blue Rock going? With a laughing emoji. She sent me a question mark and asked what Blue Rock was. I was heartbroken.
Starting point is 03:16:32 She had completely forgotten our musical plans. I mentioned that it was our band that we were going to start and that she was going to sing and play guitar and that I was going to play the drums and we were going to take over the world from our small town in Idaho. She mentioned that she had no idea what I was talking about. I sent a sad face but moved on, saying, Oh, well, do you still play guitar, at least?
Starting point is 03:17:01 And once again, she had no idea what I meant. According to Sasha, she has literally never played guitar, ever. She never got a guitar for her birthday. She and I never made plans to start a band, and she wasn't a guitar prodigy. I was beyond. confused. These were core memories for me. Sasha was basically my only friend from the time I was five to when she moved. So there's no way that I confused her with another friend. I remember
Starting point is 03:17:39 listening to her playing sweet child of mine on her guitar because I was amazed at the fact that she figured it out. I remember spending the night at her place and us writing lyrics for these cringy songs about how much we loved the rain and other stupid preteen things. All of these things are things that I can recall in pure and clean detail. But according to Sasha, they never happened. We've spoken on the phone and even met up once when she came to town to visit her parents, and I actually went with her to see them, and they didn't remember ever getting her a guitar either.
Starting point is 03:18:20 In fact, her dad, had mentioned that they had actually gotten her a camera for her 12th birthday because she wanted to be a photographer. So, unfortunately, my Sasha is gone. And while I do adore this new Sasha, and she's definitely similar to my old best friend, I'm still very confused as to where the Sasha that played guitar went. She was so talented. She was such a lovely person and the fact that she is gone is... depressing.
Starting point is 03:18:54 Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? I'm certain that it's not just a false memory. There's no way that I made all of this up in my head, as there are so many things I recall, but of course, I don't have any proof. Nor can I seem to find any photos or anything with Sasha holding a guitar. I hope that my original, Sasha, does still exist. in her timeline, and that she's out there making beautiful music for the world.
Starting point is 03:19:27 And hopefully the me and her timeline is a bit better at the drums. Raven, I've never experienced a glitch in the Matrix up until the point of this story. And I want to say that it's something I never want to experience again. Something about reality breaking right in front of you makes you feel I don't know how to explain it, but I guess sick is the best way to put it. Maybe I'm just being dramatic, but something about it made me feel panicky and ill. And my event wasn't even that big of a deal, to be honest. I've been listening to your podcast for a long time now,
Starting point is 03:20:22 and I always thought it would be kind of neat to go through one of these. And, yeah, now I regret ever thinking that. Anyways, I guess a bit of backstory is necessary to set a bit of foundation for who I am and the whole situation. My boyfriend and I both work full-time jobs. We work a pretty similar schedule. We don't live together yet, so the times that we get to see each other are after work and on the weekends, assuming that he has them off. We've decided that, in order to have a date night every week, we would meet up at a local,
Starting point is 03:21:01 restaurant after work every Thursday night. That way we could have our nights together and do anything else that we wanted to do after we ate dinner. A few weeks ago, it was a normal Thursday and we were meeting up to have dinner and I was pretty psyched because I wanted to tell him something about work. I had pulled in and he had texted me saying that he was going to be a bit later than normal because his boss wanted to do his annual review right then. so it was going to be about 20 or 30 minutes.
Starting point is 03:21:34 I told him that I would go in and wait for him and he said he would try to be as quick as he could. I was there sitting at the table by the door and waiting for him to get there when I look up and see his car pull into the parking lot. I could pick his car out of a lineup, mostly because it is the prettiest shade of blue slash green, and he has a vanity plate that is literally his name. It's an uncommon mail name that starts with an L. I know for a fact that I saw his car pull into the lot as I saw the color and the plate.
Starting point is 03:22:11 I even saw him park and start to get out of the car. I then glanced back down at my phone, finished my text to whoever I was texting, and then I stood up to head towards the door to meet him there and give him a hug. I got to the door and looked out, and his car was gone. The spot where I saw him park was now occupied by a red Camry, and he was nowhere to be seen. I was confused, but I thought that maybe he had somehow run back to his car and parked in another spot or something. I don't know why he would do that, but stranger things have happened. I stepped out of the building and looked around, but he was not in the parking lot.
Starting point is 03:22:55 I pulled my phone up and hit the button to call him to see why he had left. He answered, completely apologetic, and informed me that he had just gotten out of the review with his boss, and that he was heading there right then. I reiterated what he said, kind of asking if he was just now leaving, and he hadn't been in the parking lot yet. He sort of laughed and said, no, I'm about 15 minutes out just now getting to the parking lot at the office. This was confirmed, because I actually heard him. his boss in the background saying, Sorry I kept him later than intended. I hope you two have a good night, Rachel.
Starting point is 03:23:37 We're pretty good friends with his boss, so this wasn't weird, but it did confirm that he was, in fact, still there at the office. I just kind of said okay and wrapped up the call. After we hung up, I was struck with the weirdest feeling. That sick feeling that I mentioned earlier. I was trying to figure out if I was. was losing it, if I was hallucinating, if I
Starting point is 03:24:04 was just somehow seeing things that weren't there. But I knew inside that I saw my boyfriend pull into the parking lot, park, and then get out of his car. I have no idea why or how it all reset to the point that he hadn't even
Starting point is 03:24:20 left yet, but it did. It is still, to this day, the weirdest thing that I have ever experienced. And I don't really know how to get past it beyond just writing the story out for you, and trying my best to accept that things aren't always stable in this life of ours. Hopefully, I never experience another one of these, but if I ever do, I will absolutely let you
Starting point is 03:24:47 know. Thank you for reading, and I hope that your listeners enjoy my strange experience. Hi, Raven. I hope this message finds you well. I've been a long-time listener and I've always enjoyed your readings of glitch stories. Unexpectedly, I found myself experiencing one about a year ago. Or at least it started then. To make sense of this, I need to provide some background, so I hope this isn't too long.
Starting point is 03:25:28 Several years ago, I worked at a dry cleaners, where my now ex-partner, with whom my husband and I are still on friendly terms, also worked. We had a difficult manager whom I'll refer to as KT. Without delving into her personal issues, she was using substances that would not pass legal standards while on the job, and she drank heavily. I'm uncertain if she could function without these substances, but she was verbally abusive and would degrade anyone who angered her.
Starting point is 03:26:04 If you crossed her, she would assign you tasks you weren't trained for, which, in the world of steam presses and scorching irons, that didn't always end well. She made life unbearable for both my ex and I. Fortunately, I managed to drop store, so I only had to see her twice a day, while my ex had to endure her for eight hours six days a week. One day she called me in a panic,
Starting point is 03:26:33 telling me that my ex had locked himself in the bed. bathroom crying. When I asked why, she went silent and hung up. I later learned that she had verbally berated him, and even threw hangers at him, causing him to lose his composure momentarily. After I left that job, I had to endure her randomly showing up at my new workplace, or my house, as well as constant calls and texts begging me to hang out with her. Let me assure you we had nothing in common.
Starting point is 03:27:07 We had never spent time together outside of work, and my children always came first. It didn't take me long to move and change my number, as the word no never seemed to work with her. At this point, my ex and I had split on friendly terms, and my children and I needed a safe haven. Now that I've established the kind of person she was, I can delve into the glitch.
Starting point is 03:27:36 In June of 2022, my husband and I bought a house in the town where I knew KT. lived. This made me extremely nervous, as the thought of running into her scared me more than I can express. To ensure that my home wasn't near hers, I decided to look her up online. That's when I discovered she had passed away in 2019. Now, please understand that I don't wish harm on anyone, regardless of the past.
Starting point is 03:28:11 I did wish her the best. I contacted my ex to let him know, as he would have a full-blown panic attack if he saw a car resembling hers on the road. I understand anxiety, so I thought this information would help ease his worries. He confirmed it by finding the article himself, and, my husband and my kids also saw it. The fact that she had passed away was indisputable. Until about three months ago.
Starting point is 03:28:44 Three months ago, I had a feeling that I associated with KT. For some reason, I decided to look her up once more. This time, the search results indicated that she had purchased a home in 2020, in a town just won over from mine. Since I frequently travel through that town, I instantly felt uneasy. I couldn't believe what I was reading. Three months ago, she was listed as alive and well, with no mention of her passing. I felt like I was losing my mind.
Starting point is 03:29:20 I began to wonder if I just dreamed of her passing, so I showed my husband who was equally perplexed. I informed my ex, and he confirmed it by finding her online presence, once again. At this point, I considered sharing this, but I never made the time, and to be honest, I didn't want to think about her. Last week, I had that familiar feeling linked to KT. So, I googled her once more. As you may have guessed, the results showed that she had passed away in 2019, with the same article as the initial discovery. I scroll through my phone because I had taken screenshots of her 2020 home purchase when the first article disappeared from the internet.
Starting point is 03:30:10 I wanted proof, but, of course, the screenshots were no longer there. Now, I'm left feeling very confused, and have no idea what to make of all this. honestly, I just wish that I had never searched her name. Hi, Raven. I've been an avid listener of your channel for a while now, but this is my first time submitting my own story. I haven't experienced very many glitches before, at least not that we're interesting enough to talk about, so I'm really excited to share the one that I do have. And here goes.
Starting point is 03:31:01 A few months ago, I was working at a really really... small coffee shop drive-thru. The drive-thru was so small that they had to store all of their supplies and meeting space in a separate garage. This is a good detail to know for later in the story. It was a pretty
Starting point is 03:31:17 boring job, and nothing remotely interesting ever happened there. One day they scheduled me to work in the morning and then come back for another short shift in the afternoon. I don't know why they didn't just give me one longer shift, but I
Starting point is 03:31:33 decided to just let it be and left to get lunch. The lunch place was within walking distance, so I went on foot, and everything was all well and good. I didn't have anything strange on my mind at this particular time. On my way back was when things started getting really weird. I was probably three blocks from the coffee shop, when I suddenly saw a man walking a bit ahead of me in the same direction. He seemed to have just appeared out of nowhere, and I was slightly confused by it. The walking path was just a straight shot all the way to my work, so it would be hard for anyone to show up around there without me noticing. I'm also very aware of my surroundings as a small female walking by myself.
Starting point is 03:32:25 Anyways, he was wearing a button-down shirt, dress pants, and had a briefcase. He looked like a corporate person or someone in a high position. To my surprise, he headed towards the storage garage of the coffee shop just as I was. I had plans to hang out in the garage before my shift, because it was the only area that was semi-comfortable and not cramped. As I saw him hurriedly go in, I asked myself, Are they having a corporate meeting today or something? I didn't see anyone else there.
Starting point is 03:33:00 If so, I should probably find somewhere else to sit so I don't interrupt them. I hesitated for a few moments, but I changed my mind and decided to go in anyway, about 30 seconds after he did. It was a public space, and they could just ask me to leave if it was a problem. Here's the weirdest part of the whole experience. When I walked into the garage, the corporate-looking guy was nowhere to be found. It was just the assistant manager and the manager, both of which are women. I didn't say anything about it to them, but my mind was completely boggled, and I tried to process how the guy would have come and gone that fast.
Starting point is 03:33:48 I also think the universe has a sense of humor about things, because right after I just saw this, the manager sat me down and started talking about possibly writing me up, for something trivial that happened earlier that week. I apologized for any trouble that I may have caused, but I was only half listening to her because I was really more concerned that I just saw a man vanish into thin air.
Starting point is 03:34:15 I do want to add that I'm not under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. I value my sobriety a lot, and I don't have any mental illnesses that would cause me to hallucinate. I went through every possible, logical explanation in my mind for where the guy could have gone so fast, but nothing adds up. The supply building only has one door, so he couldn't have gone out a back way. If he had went in and out that quickly, I would have seen him walking away, because the parking lot was so large.
Starting point is 03:34:49 Also, why would he walk all the way there just to be inside for such a short moment? It just didn't make a bit of sense. Perhaps it was a time glitch, and I was seeing the projection of a person who used to work in that building at another time. Anyways, I would be happy to hear what other listeners think of this, because it's still a complete mystery to me. I recently started a new job, and I've made it a point to be early to the office every single day. For some people, this may seem a bit weird, but this is my first career-level position, so I'm really trying to make a good impression, and make it obvious that I really want this job. The company that I work for is fairly laid back, but I have a bit of a different mentality.
Starting point is 03:35:53 I want to be an ideal employee, and I want to be seen as someone that is trying really hard. I know that this is probably a fruitless effort, but I don't care. I'm doing what I can. Obviously, I'm a bit obsessive with things, and as such, I have a very strict morning routine. I wake up at 5.30, I get a shower in, and I get everything done and ready for the day, and then I'm out of the house by 605 to 610. Leaving at these times gets me to the office by 640, at the latest, which puts me at 20 minutes early for the start of my 7 a.m. shift.
Starting point is 03:36:37 This gives me time to get my station set up, get coffee, and get everything going in the mornings. I've worked there for about two months, and I have been at the office at this time every single day for the entire time that I've worked there. So it has absolutely become a habit. That leads to the day that the glitch happened. It was about two weeks ago as of the time of me writing this. On this morning, I actually woke up around 5.15 because I kept having some really weird nightmares, which was fine by me. Waking up early meant that I had even more time to get my day started.
Starting point is 03:37:19 I get out of bed, get a quick shower in, and I do all of the things that I need to before I leave. By the time I finish up, I look over at myself. phone and it's only 6 a.m. on the dot. I figure that I've done everything I could at that point at home, so I get out and head to work. But this is where things get weird. I got in my car, and the clock on my dashboard said 602 a.m. I pull out of the driveway and up to the stop sign at the end of my road, and then turn on the main road towards my office. As soon as I turn onto the main road, My phone starts ringing. I see that my boss is calling me, so I answer.
Starting point is 03:38:05 I ask him what's up, and he responds with, Is everything okay? Are you coming in? I was kind of confused, as I was actually leaving earlier than normal. So I said, yeah, I'm on my way now. What's going on? He then responds with, Okay, I was just making sure we were about to start the morning,
Starting point is 03:38:30 huddle and you're usually here by now, and we hadn't heard from you yet. It was at this point that I looked back at the clock in my car, 7.15 a.m. I apologize to my manager, and I tell him that I must have lost track of time this morning, and that I would be there in five minutes. He says it's fine, and to just get there safely. We hang up, and I just kind of stared at the clock while I drove, trying to figure out how exactly that happened. There was no way that I was wrong about the time that I woke up. I was up early. I had actually turned off my alarm after I'd woken up because I didn't want it going off while I was in the shower.
Starting point is 03:39:15 I got out and got finished, and I was absolutely without a shadow of a doubt on the road by 602. I saw those numbers on my phone and the clock in my car. I had only been driving, for a couple of minutes by the time that he called, but somehow, an hour and 13 minutes had passed. I have no idea what happened in this time. I didn't feel like I passed out, nothing really changed around me, and I didn't feel weird. It's just that the time vanished. To the best of my knowledge, I don't have anything medically wrong with me, so I cannot make any sense of it. It's just one of those crazy and terrifying things that happened, and thankfully it only happened once because I don't want to be late again.
Starting point is 03:40:17 This happened a few months ago, on a Thursday night specifically, because I know that I was off the next day, and I'm off on Fridays. I was just wrapping up my workday, you know, the usual 9-to-5 grind, and was looking forward to a quiet evening at home, catching up on Netflix. stranger things, ironically. I live in a small apartment complex, second-floor apartment, of a three-floor building. I've been living here for a while,
Starting point is 03:40:50 about four years at the point of this story, and I know all of my neighbors pretty well. I know which ones are a bit out there, and which ones are, I guess, normal people. Not judgmental, but I know that you know what I mean when I say normal versus weird ones. One of my neighbors, Jay, is one of the normal ones. He does computer work for a hospital,
Starting point is 03:41:19 so I know for a fact that he's not on any drugs, and he's probably not crazy. He and I have actually hung out a few times, so, to the best of my knowledge, he's all there and completely sane. On the night in question, I got home, tossed my keys and wallet on the table, made myself something to eat and immediately sat down to watch Stranger Things,
Starting point is 03:41:44 because I needed to get through season three still. Yes, I am way behind. I'm about halfway through the episode, and I hear a knock on the door. I pause the show, get up, and answer it. And it was Jay, my next door neighbor. But he actually looked like he'd been crying, which is a bit weird for him, but I figured that something had happened. I asked what was up, and he responded with,
Starting point is 03:42:13 Hey, man. Um, have you seen my cat, Tom? I saw him this morning before work, but when I got home, I couldn't find him, and I'm a bit worried that he might have gotten out. Now, I know Tom. Tom is a long-haired gray cat, and he's probably my favorite cat in the world.
Starting point is 03:42:35 The big issue with him getting out is that he's completely deaf, so he wouldn't make it out if he did get out. I tell him that I hadn't seen him and mention that I'll keep an eye out for him and say that he couldn't have gotten far, basically anything to try to keep this guy calm because I know he loves that cat. Jay thanks me and says that he'll let me know if he finds him. I nod and me part way. He goes back to his apartment.
Starting point is 03:43:09 I go back to the chair to watch the rest of my episode. Of course, the night is a bit jaded because I'm sitting there watching TV and thinking about Tom, and I'm worried about him. About ten minutes later, I pause the show again, just not able to get back into it, and I start to go to get a glass of water, when I hear another knock on the door. I think it's Jay coming to tell me that he found Tom, and when I open it, it is Jay, but he still looks pretty frazzled. Initially, I was worried that the worst may have happened, but Jay starts in with, Hey, man, have you seen my cat, Tom?
Starting point is 03:43:54 I saw him this morning before work, but when I got home, I couldn't find him, and I'm a bit worried he might have gotten out. I say that I still haven't seen him, and he looks confused. What do you mean still? I responded telling him that he came by earlier and asked me the same question. He seriously looks lost, saying that he hadn't left his apartment since he got home, because he's been tearing it apart trying to find Tom. At this point, I'm sitting there thinking, is this guy messing with me?
Starting point is 03:44:31 But before I can say anything, he just asks me to keep an eye out for him and says he's going to go drive around and look for him. I shut the door and just stood there thinking, What? That was really out of character for Jay. He's always been a level-headed individuals, so it was weird that he was being so, well, weird. I once again go back to the show, but I cannot get back into it at all.
Starting point is 03:45:01 Just trying to make sense of what happened. Like, did Jay go crazy or something? Did I imagine the first conversation? It was freaky, but I decided to just go to bed at that point, wasting my night, but I wanted the day to be over. The next morning, I got up and decided that I wanted to go get coffee. I got dressed at the early hours of eight in the morning, and walked out to the hallway.
Starting point is 03:45:29 I decided that I would go ahead and check in on Jay to see if he found Tom. I knock on his door, and after a couple of seconds, he answers. As he answers the door, he's holding the fluffy gray love lump named Tom. I smiled when I saw him, and he asked me what was up. I mentioned that I wanted to check on him to see if he had found Tom, but obviously he did. Again he looked at me confused and asked what I meant. I mentioned that the night before he was missing, that he came over and asked me if I had seen him.
Starting point is 03:46:09 Jay then asks me if I'm okay at this point, and I laugh, asking why. He then says that he worked the overnight shift the previous night, that he was at work from eight to seven, because he had to do a major hardware upgrade for a hospital, and he had just gotten home right before I knocked. It was like he and I were playing this weird ping-pong game of confusion, and it was once again my turn.
Starting point is 03:46:39 I then asked him if Tom had been missing at all, and he said that he'd been in this apartment the whole time to the best of his knowledge. I confirmed once again that he didn't come knocking on my door the night before, and he said that he wasn't home, so it could not have been him. I just kind of nodded and said, Okay, and that I was glad that he was doing well, and I went ahead and exited the conversation as quickly as I could. I really didn't want to dive down that rabbit hole again.
Starting point is 03:47:11 So, that's my story, and it's the only thing like this that I've ever experienced. Somehow, my neighbor who was at work on an overnight shift, came to my door twice to tell me that his cat was missing. even though he was nowhere near our complex, and his cat was never actually missing. I have no idea if this was some kind of prank or something, but that would be very unlike Jay.
Starting point is 03:47:40 And again, he's always been a straight shooter, so I don't think that he was on anything or lying to me. I don't know what did happen, but I don't think it was that. I guess, in the end I'm just grateful that Tom was okay, and that everything worked out for the best. This is not the first, and I'm sure it won't be the last glitch in the matrix I've experienced.
Starting point is 03:48:18 But it is the most recent, and by far the most tripped out I've had so far. I've become a bit of a hermit over the last few years. That being said, a couple of weeks ago, I was a bit restless, and actually craving company, so I decided to go out for a drink or two in a game of pool. I go to the bar, order a beer and some mozzarella sticks,
Starting point is 03:48:45 and I looked around. The place was kind of dead, even for 9 p.m. on a Tuesday. I put a selection of songs on the jukebox and waited to see if anyone seemed to be interested in a game. About four songs in, 15 minutes or so, This cute girl comes over. She must have just got there because I'm sure I would have noticed her before. She mentioned how she really loved Pusifer.
Starting point is 03:49:13 The song Fairday River by them happened to be playing. We started talking and shot a couple of games of pool. I had two more beers and bought her a mixed drink Skittles. We talked for a bit longer and then the bartender did the last call. It wasn't even midnight yet, but there were only five customers total in the bar, so I settled up my tab, exchanged phone numbers with her, and said I hoped to see her again. It's about two and a half miles from the bar home, and I don't drink and drive, so I started my walk in a great mood. I'd gotten about half a mile when a car pulls up beside me. It was Heather,
Starting point is 03:49:55 the girl I'd met at the bar. She asked if I would like a ride home, or maybe if I wasn't tired, I would like to continue our fun evening. I said that I really should get home, but I must admit that there was an energy that almost seemed magnetic, and said sure that I would love to continue the evening. So, we stopped by the store, grabbed a bottle of wine and some smokes and snacks, and we went to a lake about five miles from the place,
Starting point is 03:50:25 and only about a mile from where she was staying. We threw our blanket on the ground and enjoyed a nice, midnight picnic, and, well, yes, things got a bit romantic. Then she said something that I found very, very odd. I swear that I heard her say, that was even better than I remember. She just laughed it off, and we dozed off there next to the lake, cuddling, and woke up to the pre-dawn. I asked her again what she meant when she said better than she remembered.
Starting point is 03:50:58 She said it had been about 15 years. but we had met before in Portland. And like this night, we had an amazing time. I said, wait a minute, I definitely would have remembered sharing an evening like this with her. She swore to me that it was true, and how would she even know that I was in Portland 15 years ago, or the bar I used to go to where we met? Now, I told her nothing of living in Portland. I only lived there just barely over a year.
Starting point is 03:51:31 and after moving to a different state, and three different cities in the 15 years since, having moved out to this small logging town in the middle of nowhere. But she said that she could show me proof. So, we went to the cabin that she was staying in, and she dug through a box of pictures and pulled out a couple of photos of us, one of me lying on my stomach with my shirt off. I happened to have a very large tattoo on my back, along with quite a few on my arms.
Starting point is 03:52:05 There was no mistaking that it was me in those photos with her, except the fact that 15 years ago, I didn't have half of those tattoos. And again, I believe that last night was the first time we had ever met. She kind of laughed it off nervously and changed the subject and asked if I was hungry. We ate breakfast and she dropped me off at my place. I was a bit tripped out, so it took me a few days before I tried calling her. I really couldn't get her out of my mind.
Starting point is 03:52:39 I even stopped by her place, but it was obvious that no one was living there now. I don't know what the heck happened, but I get the feeling that maybe we're both riding the time-slip waves and catch each other on chance occasions, and what happened 15 years ago for her might still be in my future. Or maybe I belong in a mental institution. All I know is that she has definitely made it impossible for me to forget her, even if she ends up being nothing but a figment of my imagination.
Starting point is 03:53:13 All I know is that, from my experience, the truth is definitely... Weirder than fiction. I've been reading the stories here for quite some time, and I finally decided to share my own bizarre and... unsettling experience. Even now, years later, I can't fully explain what happened that day. Maybe someone out there will have experienced something similar, or will have an explanation beyond, it was a weird thing that happened, or it was just a glitch in the Matrix.
Starting point is 03:53:58 But who knows? This glitch occurred during my sophomore year of college. At the time, I was living in an old, somewhat run-down dormitory with a reputation for being haunted. While I've never been a firm believer in the paranormal, I couldn't deny that the building did have a strange and eerie atmosphere. The narrow hallways were always dimly lit. The floorboards creaked and it often felt like someone was watching you when you walked
Starting point is 03:54:26 down the hall or into the stairwell. One day, I needed to go to the library to get a book for an upcoming assignment. I was needing to get it done pretty quickly. and the library was located in another building. So I had to go downstairs to get to the entrance. I had used these stairs many times before, and they were nothing out of the ordinary, just a typical old winding staircase
Starting point is 03:54:55 that connected the dormitory to the ground floor, and there weren't a ton of floors in this building either. As I began my descent, I noticed that the staircase seemed to be a lot darker than you, usual. I figured that maybe some of the lights had burnt out or something, and I made a mental notes to call it into the maintenance staff. However, as I continued down the stairs, I began to feel a growing sense of unease. It was like the darkness seemed to always be at the bottom of the stairs as I went down. Like no matter how much I went down, I wasn't getting closer to it. I tried to
Starting point is 03:55:36 shake it off and get to the bottom, and then it just started feeling weirder and weirder. The more I kept going down, the more it felt like I wasn't making any progress at all. Like the stairs just kept going and going. Like I said, there weren't that many floors in the building, and I wasn't even at the top level, so I knew for a fact that I had gone down way too many flights of stairs at this point. I was honestly starting to freak out. How was I still several floors from the bottom after having gone down numerous flights? My heart was starting to race, and I was feeling like I was trapped or something.
Starting point is 03:56:18 I know that that defies logic, but it honestly felt like I was never going to get to the bottom of the stairwell. The only conclusion that I could come to was, this is a glitch. This is something not working right in our simulation. I stopped on the stairs where I was, as I was about to descend. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and said out loud, I will get to the bottom. This is just a glitch. After a few moments of breathing and staring at the back of my eyelids,
Starting point is 03:56:52 I opened my eyes and started back down the flight of stairs. Much to my surprise, everything was back to normal. I went down the few flights, and I was at a few flights, and I was at the bottom. I got to the bottom and went out into the common area and everything from there was honestly normal. I got my book, got back in, and I got back to my room without incidents.
Starting point is 03:57:17 I was, and am, still shaken by this whole thing. It was disorienting and just really weird. Thankfully, I was able to focus my mind and get things back to normal, but that is a bit of a bit of. question that I have about this. Did I somehow manifest the staircase back to normal? Did my words actually change the simulation and make this whole thing end? It was freaky.
Starting point is 03:57:46 But if that's what happened, well, I have to admit that it was kind of cool. Thankfully, nothing like this has happened since, and it's just a really weird memory that I will always keep with me. So this glitch that I witnessed happened in June of 2022 when I was on a work trip. It still bothers me, and it makes me question it to this day. I work as a private stewardess on board a motor yacht. This job requires me to travel very often, so I spend a lot of time at Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. One day, when I was off, my crew and I decided to go to the beach that is part of the Atlantis Resort.
Starting point is 03:58:44 Only people staying at the hotel or marina can access it. It was myself and two of my other crewmates who decided to go. Our boat was docked in the Marina Village, part of the resort, but the beach was about a 20-minute power walk through the hotel and casino and breezeways outside. So we left the boat, and the first place we had to walk through was the casino. Mind you, there are a lot of stairs to climb just to get into it, probably about 50, and many other stairs throughout the walk. These two crewmates are good friends of mind, and we're always talking and making jokes with each other.
Starting point is 03:59:27 We talked pretty much the entire walk. As we were walking through the casino, I noticed a lady, maybe in her mid-30s, standing near a machine, with a stroller and digging through her purse looking for something. She stood out to me because I really liked the athletic dress and gym shoes that she was wearing. Although, I usually like a lot of people's outfits, so it wasn't a weird thing for me to notice. I didn't feel the need to point her out to my crewmates because they were both guys, and they wouldn't appreciate her outfit as much as I did. The three of us continue walking at a swift pace through the casino, the lobby, and the outside breezeway paths, with many random stairs.
Starting point is 04:00:14 Eventually, after a solid 15 minutes of walking, we approach the Kids Arcade slash Daycare Center. And as we walk past it, I was shook. The woman in the athletic dress and stroller was in front of us waiting in line, at the daycare, as if she had been standing there for a while. In my mind, I thought that there was no way she could have gotten there before we did. There's just no way. There were way too many stairs for her to have done that by herself, especially with a stroller with a small child in it.
Starting point is 04:00:54 What gets me is that it seemed as if she was standing there waiting for a bit. I thought about when we walked past her in the casino, She was rummaging through her purse, looking for a phone or something, and she had no intentions of leaving right after we passed. I didn't say anything to my crewmates when we walked past her, because I was making sure that it was definitely her. As soon as we walked past, one of my crewmates goes, is it just me? Or was she in the casino when we left? I could not have been happier that he said that, because it was confirmation that I wasn't the only one who witnessed this. He and I both noticed her,
Starting point is 04:01:40 and thought of the exact same reasonings as to how it would have been impossible for her to have beat us there. It was a really strange coincidence, and I just don't think that she could have walked faster than the three of us, especially with a stroller to push and carry up and down the stairs. Since we spend so much time at Atlantis, we are for sure certain that the way we walked is the fastest way to get there. If there were any shortcuts, we would know about them.
Starting point is 04:02:15 He and I still talk about how weird that encounter was. The whole time we were at the beach, we were discussing how the only logical explanation was that it had to be a glitch in the Matrix. Has anyone else experienced this or something very similar? It bothers me so much, and I need to know the truth. To start with some context, I live with my best friend from high school, her two kids, my husband, and our two kids.
Starting point is 04:02:57 My best friend is a wedding photographer and incredibly talented. I'm not even being biased either. And while she's amazing, she's really disorganized and not detail-oriented. I, on the other hand, am obsessively organized, and I'm currently taking a break from my dream job to do homeschool for our kids. Her disorganization makes my eye twitch, so I started working for her, charging her gear, making sure she has everything, once she forgot her damn camera.
Starting point is 04:03:32 I also do her finances and client contact. It's rewarding work, and I'm damn good at it. Anyway, she came home from a shoot recently, and as always, I took her bag. I pulled out all the batteries and memory cards, and handed the cards to her so she can upload. She has a spare camera that she never uses, but I check that one too, every time.
Starting point is 04:03:57 But this time, she will. was missing some video footage. She got her camera and checked the card slots. Nothing. Of course. I'm always extremely careful with the cards. They're small and they contain the only photos of someone's wedding. It would be a complete disaster if they got lost. She had both cards and both had photos from before and after she took the videos. But the videos weren't there. She had been working for another photographer that day, and brought the cards to his house, and nothing. All the photos, but no videos. I double-checked the camera slots, my husband checked them.
Starting point is 04:04:38 Unsurprisingly, they were empty. Not just that they're black, and so was the camera, so maybe we missed them. No, completely empty. I would bet my life on it. I took them both out, and I know this because she had two cards with identical sets of photos. There was no missing card. For whatever reason, the videos just never saved to either card. Fast forward to this morning, she looked in the camera again, for lack of anything else to do,
Starting point is 04:05:10 and there was a memory card in it. On the card, all the videos, and no photos. I know nothing about cameras, but I know that she dual rights, meaning that she uses two cards, both of which should have identical photos and videos at the end of the night. It's like a fail-safe in case one of the cards gets corrupted. There's no setting for photos on one card videos on the other. And again, previously, there were no cards in her camera.
Starting point is 04:05:42 I cannot stress this enough. We were never missing a card. She had them both the whole time. We just checked the card slots for lack of any other ideas. And because when you run out of logical ideas, you start turning to illogical ones. So now, she has two cards with photos and one with videos, all of which, apparently, came out of her camera, which only has two slots. I'm utterly baffled. And as the title says, this is the most recent of a slew of weird stuff.
Starting point is 04:06:19 Calendar events disappearing, then reappearing on different dates, client numbers and texts completely erased from our phones, not just oops, deleted the thread on accident. My phone had no record of my calling or texting with this bride, or of her number being in my contacts at all. I even checked the cloud where all my phone content backs up and nothing. One time, my best friend pulled up the Netflix account and found that she was signed in to a show,
Starting point is 04:06:49 stranger's account. Everything was in Spanish. We hadn't seen any of the shows. Four profiles belonging to strangers? No one had been in our house. The kids didn't do it. It was on the smart TV, which is mounted very securely to our wall. We have three dogs in addition to my very thorough nightly lock-up routine, so there's no way anyone was in our house undetected. I honestly don't know what to make of any of this. I have a weird glitch that happened to myself at work, and one of my co-workers was there and witnessed it. Obvious disclaimer, neither of us does drugs, we were both of sound mind, and neither of us had been drinking, and in fact we were both actually at work at the time. We work for a convenience store, and we both work the overnight shift.
Starting point is 04:07:53 That may not sound important, but it is. On the overreact, overnight shift, you don't see a whole lot of people. When you see someone walk in, you kind of make note of them, because they're probably going to be the only customers that you see for that hour. This happened on the night before New Year's Eve, and, as stated, I was working with my co-worker, Michael. We were cleaning up the store and restocking the coolers when I heard the door chime that indicated that someone had entered the store. Mikeland I quickly turned around to greet the person, and I saw an older woman with a purple coat and a small dog with curly hair. I made a quick comment that we don't normally let dogs in the store, since we do technically serve food, but at this point the rollers were off, and I just told her that so long as she didn't let the dog on the floor, I didn't mind if she brought him in.
Starting point is 04:08:53 She agreed and walked into the store to do her shopping. I then turned to Mike making a comment about how it was a cute dog, and he made a comment about what breed it was, and that was that. I went back to stalking with Mike, and after a few moments, I looked around to see if the woman was somewhere in the store, and I couldn't see her. I thought it was weird, but it was possible that she had just gone to the restroom and left. We were one of the only 24-hour stores around,
Starting point is 04:09:26 and if she was on the road late, she may have just stopped really quickly to go. It does happen. We finish up the stocking, and we both head back to the main step-up where the registers are to check off the list and see if the boss had left any special cleaning instructions. As soon as we get up to the front, I look up and see an older woman walk in the front door with the purple coat
Starting point is 04:09:50 and that same little dog. I was kind of taken aback, thinking, That's weird that she came back so quickly, but as she walked in, she asked if she was allowed to bring the dog in. I mentioned that, so long as she didn't let him on the floor and kept a hold of him, I didn't mind. I said this almost as if I wasn't controlling myself. Like, I was forced to say it. Like the situation required me to say it. She smiled, said thank you, and walked into the store.
Starting point is 04:10:26 to do her shopping. I looked over at Mike and I asked him if that was the same woman as before, and he said that it definitely looked like her. He then mentioned that maybe she just forgot something, or maybe she had something wrong with her memory. After a few moments, she walked up to the counter with a few things and placed them down. As I was scanning them, I asked her if she had just forgotten to buy them when she was in earlier. She then responds by saying, that she wasn't in earlier. And when I mentioned that I thought she had come in about 20 minutes prior, she tells me that she's on a long drive from up north,
Starting point is 04:11:07 and that 20 minutes prior she was on the highway. I just kind of nod and agree, and make a joke about how there was a lady that looked just like her, with a similar dog that came in earlier. We just chuckled about the whole thing. It was incredibly awkward. I'm not going to lie. After she left, I actually sat down at the security computer and pulled the footage back,
Starting point is 04:11:34 thinking that maybe it was just someone similar-looking with the same dog, but that's when it got weirder. The footage for that exact moment showed that nobody had entered the store at all. I knew the approximate time that she had entered. I remember seeing her and her dog, making the comments, talking to my husband, about her. He even remembers seeing her, and he thought it was weird that she came back. But according to the woman and the security footage, she hadn't been there. In fact, nobody had entered the store for around an hour before she showed up that second time. I don't know if we just saw a future
Starting point is 04:12:16 event, or if it was like a time reset or something, but it was freaky. Beyond our memories of her, that first woman, or I guess the first time the woman came in, just didn't happen. She didn't purchase anything, so there was no transaction history. The cameras didn't show anyone, and unfortunately where we were stalking, which would be where I was standing when I mentioned she could bring her dog in the first time, is off camera. So I don't even know if I actually stood up and made that comments to anyone. It was crazy, and it kind of gives me goosebumps thinking about it.
Starting point is 04:12:59 But in the end, I guess that it's just another one of those things that happens while working retail in a simulation. I have a glitch that happened just last week, something that genuinely made me feel a bit weird about myself. It was a pretty normal day, last Monday, to be exact. I was on my way to work after a long but productive weekend, driving down a familiar highway that I've taken every day for too many years now. I head in just before the rush hour, but the highway is a state highway, not an interstate, so it's not usually terribly busy. So I don't see too many cars, but there are a few.
Starting point is 04:13:57 I was lost in my thoughts, the hum of the engine and the voice on the radio, keeping me awake, and focused on the road ahead of me. After a bit, I noticed a car a little ways ahead of me. It wasn't speeding or driving stupid or anything. It just looked a lot like an old car that I used to own about 10 years ago. It was definitely a cherry-red 1998 Ford Escort. Intrigued, I sped up a little bit to get a closer look. As I neared it, I actually got kind of giddy to see that this car was identical to my old one.
Starting point is 04:14:37 There was a small hole in the bumper where my dad had backed his trailer hitch into it. It had the same dumb bumper sticker that I'd put on it in college. I stared a bit longer just kind of grinning and thinking, Wow, ten years later and I've run into my old car on the highway. What are the odds? How was that thing still running? Obviously, it's not impossible, but highly unlikely, right? Now, that part isn't the glitch.
Starting point is 04:15:07 That part could easily just be a fun coincidence. The glitch happened when I pulled up closer to them to get a look at the driver. As I got closer, I could see the driver's face in the side-view mirror, and my blood ran cold. The man driving the car was me. not a lookalike, he didn't look just similar to me. He was me. Right down to the stubble on his face, the sunglasses perched on his head, and even the same mild expression.
Starting point is 04:15:42 My mind kind of spun, struggling to make sense of this and making me feel dizzy. I'm pretty certain I wasn't hallucinating or anything, as I was feeling fine up to this point and I don't have anything wrong with me, or anything like that, I had somehow stumbled upon a copy of me that was driving my old car, which completely confused me. My mind immediately went to,
Starting point is 04:16:11 I need to meet this guy. I need to know this copy of me. I tried to catch up to him, but as soon as I got around to the actual side of the car, he hit his signal and got over two lanes to take the exit. Weirder still, I know that exit. It's the exit that I would take to get to my previous job,
Starting point is 04:16:33 because that office is literally to the left of the highway ramp. This guy, this version of me, was driving my old car and taking the exit that I used to take to my old job. From where I was, it would have been dangerous to force myself to take that exit, so I just had to let it go and watch this other me go off to live his life. I did drive down to where my old job was on my lunch break, which is silly, I know, but I wanted to see if my car was there. It wasn't, so no leads on that front, unfortunately.
Starting point is 04:17:13 In the end, I was baffled. Was this some kind of timeline break? an alternate reality version of me where I never took this job and thus never sold that car and bought my current one? Am I going crazy? Is there lead in my water pipes? I don't know. What I do know is that it was really weird and uncanny. And I genuinely have no explanation for it, other than there is a second me,
Starting point is 04:17:45 and that he has good taste in crappy cars from the 90s. Okay, so I've had some minor glitches before, and you can read about them from my profile if you're curious. It's always little stuff like seeing the cat outside whenever I remember letting him in. Don't worry, he's an indoor cat, he just sits in the sun when I'm outside too, or people in my life not being where they should be. This is one of those times. Some background. I live with my husband, our two sons, my best friend since freshman year of high school,
Starting point is 04:18:33 2001, I feel so old, and her two sons. We collectively parent the kids, and we consider ourselves to be one integrated family. D.H. is a casino dealer, and BFF is a wedding photographer, and I'm the stay-at-home mom and homeschool teacher. This incident was a few hours ago or so. So D.H. had already left for work, and BFF had a short wedding today, so she's been gone since this early afternoon. I was in the kitchen making dinner, and I heard her knock. Each adult has their own knock pattern because the kids wanted us to.
Starting point is 04:19:15 And then I heard BFF's voice call, Hello? Her tone was partially in greeting and partially questioning. We have baby locks everywhere, so... I recognized that tone as meaning both I'm home and also I'm stuck in the laundry room, can you let me out? I called back. Hey, how to go?
Starting point is 04:19:38 But she didn't answer me. Usually the boys run to the door when a parent comes home, so I figured that she had her hands full and they would give her a hand. But the boys didn't get up. Three of them were on devices in the living room, and the last one was in the kitchen with me. I sent him to go see if she needed some help, and he came back and said that he couldn't find her.
Starting point is 04:20:04 After a few minutes, and another search, I realized I can just check the garage for her car, and it's gone. I call her, and she told me that she hasn't been home since she left this afternoon. It starts to dawn on me, embarrassingly slowly, that none of the dogs started barking at the sound of her voice. and then I remember how weird it was when the boys all ignored her and also how the one in the kitchen looked confused when I asked him to go help
Starting point is 04:20:36 so I asked them if they heard her come home and they all said no the one who'd been standing next to me in the kitchen said that I just started talking to nobody side note I am tickled by the fact that not one child ever asked why we were looking for BFF I start talking to thin air, and I asked them all to search the house for a parent they know is gone all day and isn't home yet. They were all just like, okay, and they started looking under beds and stuff. Not one thought to question it, and they thought that she might be under the bed. I love how delightfully weird my kids are. But for serious, I swear on my life that it was her voice.
Starting point is 04:21:23 We were duet partners, and since then, I've spent 22 years listening to her voice. I was professionally trained for four years to specifically listen for her voice. I've heard that voice tell me secrets, and sad things, and happy things. Some things that I never thought anyone in the world would have her say. And she talks a lot. if there is a single voice in the universe that I am deeply attuned to and could always reliably identify, regardless of context, it's hers, and I can't explain it.
Starting point is 04:22:16 My father passed away over this past winter after a long battle with leukemia. He and I were close, and he actually passed away when my fiancé and I were having some issues. and I had decided to spend the night at my parents' house. He wanted me to handle everything when he passed so that my mother wouldn't have to. He knew that she would be a mess, and knew that I could still maintain a strong exterior, even when being an emotional wreck on the inside.
Starting point is 04:22:51 So, weirdly, it felt like he waited until I was there to die. And, unfortunately, the image of him lifeless the next morning is something that I don't know if I'll ever get over. Anyway, I decided to stay with my mom for a while, through the holidays at least, to help her adjust to being alone for the first time in 50-plus years. I was staying in the one bedroom that was upstairs. She still slept in their bedroom on the main floor. My partner and I were still having issues, so I wasn't sleeping well.
Starting point is 04:23:30 I was up late most nights just stressed from all angles. I was also out of work at the time and stressing about interviews. One night, while I'm laying in bed watching TV, I get a text alert. When I look at my phone, I have a message from my mother that read, I know you're here with me. That seemed like an odd 3 a.m. text, so I replied, Are you okay? I didn't get a reply, so I decided to go downstairs and check on her.
Starting point is 04:24:06 She was asleep in her bedroom, snoring away. I was weirded out, but I figured I would just ask her in the morning if she remembered messaging me and then immediately falling asleep. Before heading back upstairs, I went to the kitchen to grab some water, and while passing through the living room, I saw her phone charging on a side table. I grabbed my water, and I went back upstairs to double-check the time stamp on the message, thinking it had actually come through earlier or something. Maybe there was some kind of delay.
Starting point is 04:24:43 And in the morning, I asked my mother about it, and she had no idea what I was even talking about. She went and grabbed her phone from the living room and seemed to be as freaked out as I was. We kind of laughed it off awkwardly and said that it was my dad, out from beyond the grave, and left it at that. But it's always bothered me the way that it was worded. If my dead father were to text me, wouldn't it be, just know that I'm here with you,
Starting point is 04:25:17 or I'll always be with you? Something along those lines. But instead, it said, I know you're here with me, as if I've died too, or am soon going to. Or it read like something a living person would say to the dead. I've thought, maybe he's in another timeline now, where the family is all together. I just don't know.
Starting point is 04:25:48 I think about this often because I have no explanation for receiving the text since the phone was in a room alone when I received a message from it. and even resolving to it being delivered much later than it was sent, I do believe my mother in her confusion about it. She doesn't use herself much anyways, and was using it even less because she was overwhelmed by people calling her and the house phone to check in on her. I just needed to get this off my chest
Starting point is 04:26:20 and see if there's any other interesting theories about what it meant. Like, maybe I'm dead. Maybe my dad is alive in an alternate universe. Something happened a few years back that I can't shake. And I would really love some kind of explanation as to what the hell happened, as it has played on my mind ever since. Let me just clarify before I start that I am completely sound of mind, and I just want some closure, I guess.
Starting point is 04:27:05 So here it goes. I have always been into the paranormal. As a kid, I was completely fascinated by it, and I found over the years the more open to it you are, the more downright bizarre some of the stuff you experience is. This tops my list of weird experiences. This happened about seven years ago. My sister came to my flat one night after work,
Starting point is 04:27:35 She finished work at 1730, to spend a bit of time with me, as we had both been working like crazy and hadn't had the time to catch up. It was just the two of us, and she suggested having a game of cards with our coffees, something we've always done since we were kids. It's a favorite pastime in our house. Once I had gotten the cards out and started shuffling them, she asked me to look at the time on my phone as she had to be. work the next morning at 7 a.m. and needed to be home for a reasonable time. She'd lost her phone
Starting point is 04:28:12 on a night out a few days prior. I told her that it was 1810 in the evening, and she replied, Okay, well, I'll have to be getting off around 2045 to get my uniform washed and dried, so keep an eye on the time for me. I agreed, and we started playing a bit of rummy to start with. Now, we weren't drinking alcohol or taking drugs. We were just having a relaxed game of cards chatting about guys and work, the usual stuff, I suppose. Everything was normal. We played cards for what felt like two hours easy. I mean, you can't mistake that length of time when you have had about 16 to 18 hands of rummy,
Starting point is 04:28:57 and we were in the early stages of playing a game of poker having gotten bored with the other game. Out of nowhere, I remember having the weirdest feeling come over me. Like, the light in the room dimmed, and I distinctly felt an electrical crackle start in the bottom of my spine and shoot all the way up to my skull. I physically jolted upright. The sensation was so intense. I looked at her, and she was looking at me all wide-eyed and silent like she knew something was up.
Starting point is 04:29:31 I blurted out. something is wrong. Really, very wrong. Without blinking or reacting in any other way, she just says to me, look at the time, which I thought was the weirdest response. I picked up my phone, looked at the time, and there was a mixture of shock and dread that crept over me. That can't be right, it's not possible.
Starting point is 04:29:58 I mumbled out loud. My phone must have glitched out or something. something. Getting up to turn the telly on to see what the time was on there, she's looking at me like what the hell is going on. What is it? What time is it? She asked again. I just repeat that it can't be right, and as I switch the tele on, the time flashes up in the corner of the screen. It said, 1829. She sees it and is now just as freaked out as I am. That can't be right. Did your phone say the same time? I showed her the screen. I pull out a laptop to check the time and even got a watch out of my drawer to see if they all matched and sure enough they did. There was no possible way that we had been sat playing cards for just 20 minutes. I asked her how long she thought we had been sitting there and she said for at least a couple of hours, like myself.
Starting point is 04:30:57 We just sat there in a bit of a fog like what on earth just happened. We tried to discuss it, but we couldn't make any sense of it. To be honest, it felt uncomfortable. Even to this day, to talk about it does not feel right. She breaks the silence with a joke, something like, Oh, at least I have another couple of hours to chill with you. We just tried to forget about it. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what this was.
Starting point is 04:31:33 I've been lurking the Glitch in the Matrix subreddits for a while, and I recently learned about your podcast through another poster there. I was a bit hesitant at first because my event was just really weird and was something that I didn't really know what happened with, but I figured why not put this out there into the world? and let people know about it. Maybe someone else out there has had a similar experience and can help me to understand what the hell it was,
Starting point is 04:32:14 that actually happened. So, let me set the scene. It was a pretty normal and rather chilly morning in early winter. I remember that because I woke up and I felt colder than normal, to the point that I checked the thermostat, which is something that I never do to see if it was set right. It was, so I just shrugged it off and thought that it was me. I went to the bathroom for my morning routine, and I started brushing my teeth, and as I stood in front of the mirror, I noticed that my reflection was a little off.
Starting point is 04:32:54 It was kind of like it was lagging a fraction of a second behind my movements. That's really the only way I can think to explain it. It just seemed like I was moving and it was moving, but the two were no longer in sync. I rubbed my eyes thinking that I was just seeing things, but the lag persisted. I was starting to feel a little unnerved. I quickly brushed my teeth and then splashed some water on my face, hoping that it would help me to snap out of it. However, things only got worse from there.
Starting point is 04:33:31 As I was drawing my face, face, I glanced up at the mirror, and to my horror, my reflection seemed to just stop, like it was completely frozen, staring back at me with a completely unmoving expression. I slowly waved my hands, jumped around, and then even tried to physically touch the mirror, but my reflection would not move. It just stood there like a creepy statue, capturing me in that awkward moment of time. At this point, I was terrified. My heart was pounding in my chest.
Starting point is 04:34:10 I was starting to hyperventilate and feeling a bit dizzy. I leaned out of the bathroom to call for my boyfriend, and I guess that I sounded freaked out, because he jumped up and ran into the hallway towards me. I waved him into the bathroom, and when he entered, he kind of looked around like, what? I motioned towards the mirror, He turned toward the mirror and I looked up at the mirror at the same time, and sure enough, it was normal.
Starting point is 04:34:41 I could see myself moving like normal. When he looked at the mirror, he saw my reflection acting normally. My boyfriend laughed a bit under his breath and just shook his head like, oh, you're crazy. I ended up kind of just standing there for a few moments and trying to get my grip on what that was. but I had to let it go because whatever it was was no longer happening. I tried to carry on with my day, but every single time I got a glimpse of myself in a reflection, like in a window, my phone screen, or whatever,
Starting point is 04:35:18 I would get this disgusting cold chill down my spine. It was as if I was getting hit with adrenaline. Like I was about to go into a spiral of panic. This nightmare, persisted for the entire day. I felt completely out of sync with reality. Like, I had seen something that I wasn't supposed to see, and it was clawing at my brain. When I got home, I was exhausted, and I just wanted to go to bed, so I did.
Starting point is 04:35:51 My boyfriend was worried, but I just told him that I wasn't feeling well and that I wanted to sleep. Thankfully, when I woke up the next day, everything was bad. back to normal. My reflection followed my movements perfectly again, and I wasn't feeling weird anymore when I looked at myself. I still can't explain what happened, but it has made me question some things about our existence, I guess, because it felt like reality was out of sync with me, or vice versa. Has anyone else ever had something like this happen? Or do you have you have it? any theories on what could have caused this glitch in the matrix? So, gosh, where to start?
Starting point is 04:36:48 Well, I can pinpoint the moment that this happened. I was driving to my girlfriend's house. There's one part of the road where it's a dual carriageway, except this one is odd. In the UK we drive on the left, but the turn I have to take has a slip road on the right, which takes you to a junction where you wait for a break in the traffic. and then drive across the other carriageway. So I'm at the front of the queue waiting for the gap. It's rush hour, so there is a long line behind me.
Starting point is 04:37:22 Although I am an experienced driver, I'm keenly aware that people behind wants to get home, so I'm ready to go. Seeing a gap that I think I can fit through, I gun it. Time seems to slow down. I think I hear a horn and, bang and clearly smell hot antifreeze. Everything goes black for like maybe a second or two.
Starting point is 04:37:48 I shiver as I open my eyes, exactly like the feeling you get when someone walks on your grave, only to find myself on just the other side of the junction, driving on the road that I should be on, as if nothing has happened. I pull over and check that everything is in one piece, and it is. I take a minute or two to just calm down. I jump back in the car and then continue on my way.
Starting point is 04:38:16 As I approach the garage where I normally would fill up with petrol, I look down to check my fuel. I drive a Fiat 500, and as long as I have owned it, five years at this point, at least in my universe, the fuel gauge is next to the tachometer on the left. It's the TFT version. I should explain that the fuel gauge and temperature gauge are displayed on the panel on either side of the digital speedometer. Fuel on the left, temp on the right.
Starting point is 04:38:46 But essentially they look the same. In this universe, they're swapped over. Fuel on the right and temp on the left. Anyway, I've checked this since, as initially I thought it might have been a software update or something. But all the picks that I can find of it online are the way that it occurs. currently is. Fuel right, temp left. It's not important just the first change that I noticed. I get to my girlfriend's house, and my tattoo-hating girlfriend, like when we got together, the first thing she told me was that if I was to get a tattoo, she would leave me. This version of her
Starting point is 04:39:27 has a tattoo on her wrist. It's a small dog, in honor of our dog that we lost. Other things have changed, too. Her demeanor is different. Ironically, I prefer this version. She's much more easygoing and approachable. And she also dresses differently. Only little things, but it's different. The sort of thing that only a boyfriend would notice.
Starting point is 04:39:55 For example, my version loved mid and long skirts. This version won't wear a skirt that comes below her knees. It's not like I don't know her. we've now been together 16 years, and at this point we had been together about 14 years. There are a bunch of other changes, too, stupid things that are no longer where they have always been kept. She always had a house phone in the hallway. It's now in the living room. I could not find a watch and some cuff links that I knew that I had. She even helped me look for them and had me describe them.
Starting point is 04:40:34 so I told her it's the set that we bought together in jewelers three years ago. I even named the specific jeweler, only to be told that I was silly because we decided not to buy them. Anyway, now is the real kicker. After whatever happened to me, and I still don't fully understand it, happened about two years ago. Now when I think back, I can remember both buying and not buying the cuff links.
Starting point is 04:41:06 It's like I remember both versions. I can also remember taking my girlfriend to the tattooist to get the tattoo. I have a clear memory of it. But then I have memories after that where the tattoo is missing from her wrist. And believe me, I would remember. It's all just a bit muddled. My biggest concern now is going back. I am so much happier in this version of seemingly improved reality.
Starting point is 04:41:50 Hi, Raven. I wanted to share something that I had just experienced a few days ago. My husband and I had been doing some yard work since we actually got a break in this heat wave. We both worked together cleaning up the front yard. He moed while I cleared out the garden beds of dead stems, leaves, and those relentless weeds. then, as he did the edging of the driveway, I swept the sidewalk and patio. Once the front yard was finished,
Starting point is 04:42:19 we made our way to the backyard. It's a bit larger, so my husband started mowing while I armed myself with the weed whacker and hedge clippers to clean up everything else. We both knew that once we got into the rhythm of our tasks, we'd be too far apart, and it would be too loud to chat. And so we both put in our earbuds to, at least listen to some music as we tackled the remaining yard work.
Starting point is 04:42:46 Everything was going along smoothly as I trimmed the weeds around our fence when I noticed an insect that caught my eye. As I looked at it, it appeared to have an uneven number of legs. I know that sounds like a no-brainer. The bug was just missing some legs, but it was more than that. It was as if the leg placement was asymmetrical. Imagine an oval shape that was pinched at one end. Then, on the tip of the pinched part, there was one leg, one leg on each side of the pinch,
Starting point is 04:43:20 and one leg further up on the right. That's it. Now, I like insects, but I'm no entomologist, so this thing did not look like something I had seen before. So I stopped the weed whacker and bent down to get a closer look at it. While examining this little guy, out of nowhere and clear as day, I heard my husband's voice say, What are you doing? I jumped because between the music and the mower's roar, I hadn't expected him to be anywhere near me. It was as if he had materialized out of thin air.
Starting point is 04:43:58 I whipped around, expecting to see him, but instead, there was no sign of my husband anywhere near me. Confused and a little freaked out, I hustled back around the corner to see him still mowing on the opposite end of the yard. There was no way he could have sprinted over here, said that in my ear, and pushed the mower back that far that quickly, within the brief seconds since I'd heard his voice. I stood there, dumbfounded, trying to make sense of what had just happened. Then, when my husband turned,
Starting point is 04:44:36 turned around, we made eye contact, and he had a look of confusion. I just shrugged, waving my hand to say, never mind, and we both continued with our work. Once we both finished, we walked our supplies to our garage, and my husband asked me why I just stopped and stared at the wall of the house. I was confused because I had done no such thing. I stopped and looked at the bug that was near the fence on the opposite side of where he was. We would not be able to see each other from where we were in those exact moments. I told him I hadn't done that, and he again looked confused, and explained that he clearly saw me do it,
Starting point is 04:45:21 and that he thought to himself, what is she doing? This, of course, made me think of my experience as well, so I asked him if by chance he came over and asked me and then ran off. He looked at me like I was making no sense and said no, confirming what I was thinking. I explained to him the bug that I saw and then what I witnessed, hearing his voice right next to me. We both thought that it was weird and decided to just leave it alone, but after listening to your stories for so long, I'm questioning if this was a glitch, or maybe some kind of tear in reality. Maybe that bug wasn't from here, and when I noticed it and started looking at it, I shifted realms, while he saw the other version of me just freeze and pause. And maybe the voice I heard was him from the other realm.
Starting point is 04:46:21 But since I broke contact with the bug, maybe I shifted back. I don't even know if any of this makes sense, but it was such a weird example. that I cannot stop thinking about it. Has anyone else seen something like a bug or structure that looks unreal that seems to shift their reality? I would love to hear others' experiences. At least, so I don't feel so crazy. Hi, Raven. Love the channel. Keep up the great work.
Starting point is 04:47:02 Have you ever wondered how many glitches go by unnoticed? Ever wondered how the Matrix resolves these glitches without revealing too much of itself? that's something that I've thought about quite often. Let me explain. Back in 2019, my partner and I were living in a two-bedroom apartment with our dog, Lily. Lily was a border collie and required a lot of exercise, so we would make sure to take her for walks whenever possible. One morning I woke up after sleeping in a little and realized that my partner had gone out.
Starting point is 04:47:40 She must have gone to the shop, I thought. I walked out into the lounge room and noticed that Lily's leash was still hanging on the hook. I called out to Lily, and she soon appeared behind the couch, and came running to me. Oh, why didn't Mom take you with her? I asked. I played with Lily for a while, and then went to the office, and logged on to my computer. Then, about a minute later, I heard the front door open. "'Babe, is that you? Where have you been?' "'I went to the shop,' she replied.
Starting point is 04:48:14 "'Well, why didn't you take Lily?' I asked. "'I did.' "'I froze.' "'What?' "'That isn't possible. "'I was just playing with Lily not more than a minute ago, "'and a walk to the shop would take at least ten minutes. "'Besides, wasn't Lily's leash hanging on the hook just now?'
Starting point is 04:48:35 "'Utterly confused. I stood up and walked into the hallway, and sure enough, there was Lily, standing in the open doorway, still wearing her leash that my partner was just then in the process of removing. My eyes must have almost popped out of my head. Slowly, I turned around and walked back to the office trying to figure out what I had just seen. I had heard of glitches in the Matrix before. In fact, my workmate had mentioned the phenomenon just a few days before, but I had heard. prior. I was open to the idea, so I just put it down to that. But it got me thinking,
Starting point is 04:49:16 what happened to my copy of Lily? Was she simply removed from the simulation? Did she cross over to another reality? One in which my partner never did take her to the shop? Who knows? What I do know is that whatever the Matrix did to resolve the glitch, it did so while my back was turned, while my attention was on my computer. I often wonder what would have happened if I had, for example, just sat there on the couch with my copy of Lily until my partner had come home with her copy. Then there would have been two lilies in the same location. Surely the Matrix could not afford to reveal itself in such an obvious way, and would
Starting point is 04:50:01 attempt to prevent such a situation from occurring, setting off the smoke alarm, causing. causing something to randomly crash from the office cupboard, anything to divert my attention, so that my copy of Lily could be safely despond without me seeing it happen. As much as our simulated reality seems broken and buggy, it almost always seems to find an out, a way to resolve these glitches without revealing too much of itself.
Starting point is 04:50:33 So, props to you, Matrix. I had just recently purchased my house, and my old washer and dryer wouldn't fit. Plus, they sucked, and my wife hated using them. So, she sent me on a mission to buy a new set. I did not do my research, and as I'm standing in the Lowe's Appliance Department coming to grips with what I'm up against, my contractor neighbor walked up behind me. He helped me pick out the exact units that I was going to purchase. I bought them, and then life got weird for a few minutes.
Starting point is 04:51:21 When I got to the truck, with my two large boxes, there stands my neighbor waiting for me. I thought he was waiting to help me load them, but he just looked at the boxes and said something like, that's a gas dryer, you don't have gas. I bust his balls for a couple of moments about helping me pick the wrong units out, and it was as normal an interaction as I could. could have had. I went inside to do the return walk of shame on the items I literally never even left the parking lot with, and my neighbor walked to his truck.
Starting point is 04:51:57 I'm at the return counter. The girl behind the register asked me my name. I told her and handed her my receipt from five minutes prior while explaining the situation. Without even looking up at me, she says again, name. I tell her my name a second time. and she says nothing while typing into the computer. In comes my neighbor to the return desk with a gallon of paint. He waits in line behind me saying nothing.
Starting point is 04:52:28 The girl behind the register looks up at me and says, name, sir? I tell her my name for the third time, pointing to the receipt on the counter and try to explain the situation again. She types into the computer some more, and, for what was probably a solid minute, says nothing at all. Another girl at the return desk finishes with another customer and comes over to help. The new girl says to me while they both stare into the computer screen, name?
Starting point is 04:53:00 Fourth time. I give them both my name. Without taking their eyes off of the screen, the new girl says, and I kid you not, I'm sorry, sir, but you don't exist. I got sort of light-headed after she said that, because I was already thinking how strange this was. I said back, I don't exist, or I'm not in your system? Without answering me, the second girl says to my neighbor, Sir, I can help you over here, and moves to the next register as my neighbor walks past me,
Starting point is 04:53:39 and, without another word to me, returns his paint and walks up. out the door. Then, almost as if nothing weird had happened. The first girl just says, well, here, my name, here's your return. You'll have to purchase the new ones and we'll refund you for the ones you mistakenly purchased. Without even going back to appliances,
Starting point is 04:54:04 there behind me stands a guy with the units that I needed on a dolly, ready to help me buy and load them into my truck. My neighbor was gone. But when I asked him about it, he didn't think there was anything weird about the whole thing. I, on the other hand, had an existential crisis, and I only barely managed to hold it together. A couple of years ago, something happened to me that I cannot explain. So, hopefully I can get some views or thoughts from your listeners. For background information, I have really bad insomnia, and I don't have sleep apnea.
Starting point is 04:54:58 This will be important for the story I'm about to tell. During the year 2019, I was trying to sleep like every other night, but obviously couldn't. Then, I suddenly woke up in an operating room. I remember doctors and nurses scrambling around me saying that my heart stopped and starting CPR, Shocked and confused, I kept telling them I'm alive, but they wouldn't listen to me. They just kept doing CPR, shocking me, and doing other medical stuff. It felt so real that I thought probably something at home happened, and I went unconscious and ended up there. I can still remember how everyone in the operating room looked, their eyes, since the mouth was covered,
Starting point is 04:55:50 with the masks. I remember I felt the pain of the chest compression, the shocking and the other stuff that they were doing to me. The pain was so bad that I started to slowly fade away into unconsciousness. Before I completely faded away, I heard, I guess, the head doctor, say, We're losing her. I was panicked but couldn't do anything because, at this point,
Starting point is 04:56:18 it was the last thing I heard before completely losing. losing consciousness. After that, I woke up in my room, but my eyes were still closed. I remember I took a couple of huge breaths like I hadn't been breathing for a long time, and then I sat up and looked around, realizing I was still in my room. Soon, I realized that I suddenly felt chest pain, like it really hurt. That's when I looked down to my chest and saw a red mark. Like, it was really red.
Starting point is 04:56:53 Thinking it might be a trick of the light, I ran into the bathroom, opened the light, and looked at my chest in the mirror. I still saw the same thing. Three red marks. One was a hand mark, the other was a rectangular mark, and the third was on my lower side,
Starting point is 04:57:12 and it was also a rectangle. Despite this, I was convinced that my eyes were playing tricks on me, so I grabbed my first. phone and took a picture. And in the picture, I still saw the same marks. Still not believing it, I was planning to show my mom the picture when she
Starting point is 04:57:30 woke up. Hours later, when she woke up, I first checked to see if I still had the marks. I did, but it was less red. I asked her if she could see anything, and she said, yeah. I asked, what do you see?
Starting point is 04:57:46 And she just said red marks. I was so, shocked and scared. I asked if she was sure and she said yes. I even showed her the pictures that I took and she saw the same thing. That's when she asked me why I would do that to myself, but I didn't explain to her the truth because I thought she wouldn't believe me. Ever since that day, I would randomly wake up with bruises, marks, or cuts. When it got worse, I told my mom, and my mom, being a Christian, said that it was a demonic attack. So, did I die in another world?
Starting point is 04:58:30 Or was this something else? Two buddies and I went up to rent in Washington to pick up a mini-truck that needed brakes, which we planned on fixing in an auto parts parking lot, and driving it back down to Oregon the next day. The lanes in this town all seemed, just too narrow, with nobody knowing when to stop or use blinkers. I'm talking people full on slamming their brakes as they pull up to red lights.
Starting point is 04:59:08 Kind of odd, but it got we started working on the truck. The auto zone that we stopped at didn't have the brake pads that we needed. So we called up in O'Reilly's, who said that they had them there. On the way, I saw a child stop at a crosswalk. look down the road which had no cars, wave at an imaginary vehicle and start walking. Minutes after this, I noticed someone riding a bicycle. I glance away for a split second
Starting point is 04:59:42 and turn back to see the same person now walking with a headlamp on and no bicycle in sight. Once we pull up to the O'Reilly's, there's a sign on the door saying, family emergency closed early. It had been no less than five minutes since we called them. Weird, but okay. We call up another O'Reilly's a few minutes away,
Starting point is 05:00:08 and they say they have the pads in stock as well. We pull into the parking lot to see another handwritten note on the door that says, Personal Emergency, closed early. At this point, the three of us find it pretty weird, but we just have to find some brake pads. Luckily, the next shop that we call has them, and they're still open when we get there. We get back to the trucks and slap the brakes on,
Starting point is 05:00:37 only to notice the taillight is out. I stay with the truck because all of the tools are out while my two buddies go to a Walmart to find the bulb that we need. As I'm standing there, waiting, I watch a car pull into the large parking lot, circle several times over and then leave. As the car pulls out, another pulls in, and circles several times without stopping, and leaves. This trend repeats itself about five more times until my buddies come back.
Starting point is 05:01:12 Now, on to what happens to them on the Walmart trip. The GPS took them on a route that made them drive down a sidewalk through a Nissan dealership to get to the wall. When they walked in the Walmart, it looked as though it was still under construction. Bare walls everywhere, most of the product was on wrapped pallets, with employees just walking around aimlessly. Upon asking people for a key to get into the light bulbs, they found that only one person in the entire store had the keys, but not to the bulbs, to everything. The next day, we snap an axle on the way home a few miles outside of Seattle, about 10 miles from where we picked up the truck initially. While working on the car, a lady walks up, nice as can be, and asks what happened.
Starting point is 05:02:07 We explain the situation and bring up our experience in Renton. She tells us that she's from there and says she has no clue what we are talking about, and reassures us that we must have been in the same. in a neighboring town, because Renton is a quiet, lovely little place. We all felt that it just made it even more weird, that before we could leave the area, someone came by, started a conversation, and basically told us that we did not experience what we had. I had a weird glitch that happened about a month ago,
Starting point is 05:02:52 that I've been thinking about sharing, but just haven't gotten a chance to do so. I don't think I've ever had an actual glitch happened to me, but I've read and heard a lot of glitches, and I figured I should just go ahead and get this out there, because it's an interesting story. It was a very weird and insignificant glitch, but to me, it was bizarre. A few weeks ago, my dad and I went out to have a daughter and dad day together.
Starting point is 05:03:23 We're really close, and we've decided that we need to spend a couple of days a month together, to make sure that we stay close. On this particular day, he was the one driving everywhere. We went to see a movie and then went out to have lunch together, and we were trying to decide if we wanted to go somewhere else, or if we were just going to go ahead and end the day together. My dad mentioned that he wasn't feeling the best,
Starting point is 05:03:51 so because of that, I mentioned that we should just go ahead and wrap up our day together. He agrees, and we start heading to, toward the highway so that he can take me home. At this point, my friend texted me something, and I was sitting there reading it, and as my brain does, I started thinking about the fact that I needed to turn in my rent, and that I needed to do so that day. I didn't say anything about it.
Starting point is 05:04:18 I just thought it to myself as I glanced up at the entrance ramp to the highway. Then, within no more than five seconds of me thinking that, my dad turns and says, we can go get your rent turned in. I don't mind. At first I just nodded and said, okay, cool, thanks. But it hit me pretty quickly that, at no point,
Starting point is 05:04:41 did I say anything about the rent? I paused and slowly looked over at him and asked how he knew that I needed to turn in rent. As soon as I asked him, I noticed that he went a bit pale and slowly turned the wheel to stop on the shoulder of the highway. The look on his face was genuinely terrifying. He looked like he had seen a ghost,
Starting point is 05:05:05 or like he was having a panic attack or something. He just kind of sat there for a moment and stared at the windshield, and I asked him if he was okay. He looked at me and said, You didn't say anything about your rent, did you? I confirmed that I hadn't. He then told me that he had no idea how he knew that I needed to turn in my rent.
Starting point is 05:05:28 he was just watching the road as he was driving and it felt like his brain got warm and he then said that we could go turn in my rent without thinking I know that that sounds weird but it's how he described it his brain got warm and he just said the words without even thinking twice about them I tried to just laugh it off and say that it was weird
Starting point is 05:05:52 but I could tell that he was not feeling well about what had happened I asked him if he was going to be okay. He just nodded and took a few deep breaths in and out before clearing his throat and saying that we should just forget about what happened. I agreed and said that it could just be one of those weird things that we never talk about. And that was pretty much the end of it. We went out, got my rent turned in, and then he took me home. I made sure again that he was going to be okay and he said that he would be fine
Starting point is 05:06:24 and that he would just call me when he got home. So, that's my weird glitch. Just one of those weird moments where my dad basically read my mind and knew what I was thinking. But he didn't seem to do so consciously. It was even weirder how his complexion and emotion changed when he realized that it happened. I don't know if this was for sure a glitch, but to me, it was definitely glitch-like. As with many others, I've always been a lurker when it comes to glitch in the Matrix stories.
Starting point is 05:07:09 I've enjoyed reading and hearing them, thinking they were just these weird little occurrences that people go through. I look at it as a strange little rabbit hole that you can get lost in, but I never thought that I would have a glitch to share, yet here I am. This left me honestly dumbfounded and confused, but maybe someone can offer up an explanation for what it is. is that happened. This actually happened a couple of weeks ago.
Starting point is 05:07:40 It was a Friday night, and I was about to have a fun weekend with one of my girlfriends. We were both off the following week, so, admittedly, we were going to overdo it. We were staying home, though, so it wasn't like we were going to be a problem, just really messed up and sitting in my living room. My girlfriend, Sammy, came over. and she asked me if I'd gotten her peach snobs. I'd completely forgotten to get them, and she'd forgotten to remind me,
Starting point is 05:08:13 so, before we started, we made a trip to the liquor store. We got there, got the bottle, the last one on the shelf, mind you, went to the counter and had small talk with the cashier. I paid for it. We walked out and got right back on the road. It's not a long trip, only about ten minutes. And about halfway back, Sammy opened the bag to look at the schnops.
Starting point is 05:08:43 And it wasn't peach? I glanced over and she made a comment about how we grabbed the wrong thing. The thing is, that's not possible. We grabbed the last peach schnops on the shelf, which is a slightly peach-tinged clear color. The bottle she was holding, was sour apple-flavored, which was a very bright green. Not to mention, I don't even like apples, and I wouldn't have accidentally grabbed it.
Starting point is 05:09:18 I asked Sammy if she wanted to head back to the store and get the peach snobs, and she said that it was fine, and that maybe she would like what we grabbed. I told her that we could go back if she wanted, but she again said no that it was fine. I said okay, and we continued heading home. That, however, is only half of the glitch. The bottle changing to something else. It actually gone even more strange. When we got back to my house,
Starting point is 05:09:51 I walked into the kitchen and there was a bottle of her peach snobs sitting on the counter. She made a comment about how I told her I didn't have any, and I said that I didn't, and that I had no idea where that bottle had come from. I don't keep a ton of liquor in my house because I'm not a super heavy drinker, unless it's an event like this. So I only had one or two bottles in my house. So it wasn't like this could have just been missed or looked over.
Starting point is 05:10:24 It was sitting on the counter right up front. Weirder still, this bottle was sealed. The plastic ring around the cap hadn't been broken yet, so it was brand new. Sammy laughed it off and told me I was losing it, but I'm seriously confused. I didn't have any of this in my house prior, yet there it was. I know that we grabbed what we meant to grab at the store, yet it seemingly changed halfway home. How was any of this possible beyond me, as she said, losing my mind.
Starting point is 05:11:04 I'm pretty sure my brain is still stable, so I'm just accepting that this was a really weird thing that occurred. I can't make heads or tails of it. It was creepy, it was weird, and it left me in a weird bit of... Uh... What? Last week, I had something happened to me that I can't quite shake off.
Starting point is 05:11:40 I mean, and it was a super mundane thing, but it was also incredibly bizarre. I figured I would send it in, and you and your listeners can decide for yourself in the end. Maybe it was nothing. Maybe I'm crazy. Or maybe it was a glitch.
Starting point is 05:12:00 It was a super hot afternoon, and as we do hear, I had a major craving for some sweetened iced tea. I had a pitcher in the fridge that was just, unsweetened iced tea, so I had to pour it and add some sugar to sweeten it. But that's no big deal. I poured a big glass, added some sugar, stirred it up all nice, and then added a couple cubes of ice.
Starting point is 05:12:26 Not going to lie, it was a work of art. I grabbed my tea and before I could even take a sip, nature called, probably the pouring of the liquid causing that reaction that we all seemed to have. I went ahead and pulled a coaster from the stack on the coffee table and placed my glass down on it and dashed off to the restroom. After I did my business, I walked over to the sink and washed my hands
Starting point is 05:12:54 and then started the routine of looking at my face for any imperfections and blemishes. That's when I noticed something strange. There was a mole on my neck that I had never seen before. It wasn't huge or not. anything, but it was decently sized, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't there prior. I rubbed it with my finger thinking maybe it was something on my skin or something, but it was definitely there, and definitely a mole.
Starting point is 05:13:26 Now, this in and of itself isn't too odd, that happens, right? Like moles can randomly appear in places they never were, I think. I shook off my curiosity, and I left the bathroom, thinking it was just a thing that happened. I walked out into my living room and went to grab my iced tea, and to my confusion, it wasn't there on the table. I stared, confused, and a little alarmed that someone may have broken into my house and stolen my tea. Yeah, a weird thing to consider, but it was definitely gone. I looked around the room at all the possible surfaces where I could have put it, but I could have put it,
Starting point is 05:14:09 but nope, no tea. I thought that maybe I had brought it with me into the bathroom, which is something that I would never do, but it clearly was not in the living room. Of course, I checked, but no, no tea there either. Feeling a bit frazzled, I went back to the kitchen thinking maybe I just left it in there and didn't realize it.
Starting point is 05:14:34 And sure enough, my cup was on the kitchen counter, but the cup was completely empty and dry, and the pitcher was full to the brim. It was as if I had never poured the glass of tea at all. I just stood there frozen, trying to make sense of what had just happened. Had I imagined pouring the tea? Had my actions somehow been reset or undone?
Starting point is 05:15:03 I glanced up at the window and saw my reflection. once again noticing that mole on my neck. And honestly, a chill went down my spine. This was a really small glitch, but the two things going together like this, within a few minutes, it was kind of creepy for me. Nothing else feels different,
Starting point is 05:15:27 and yet I can't shake that feeling that something inexplicable happened in those very brief moments. But again, I don't know. I don't know what this was. Did something happen while I was in the bathroom? Did I jump timelines or realities or whatever you call it? Everything else is as it always has been, but these two little things were just so weird to me.
Starting point is 05:15:58 About six years ago, I was working as an actor and I was out late doing a show, end up early the next day to do another one. The windscreen wipers on my piece of crap car were out of sink, and would jam together and get stuck so they wouldn't wipe the windscreen, just jiggle together in the middle. On the way back from my show, the rain on the motorway was absolutely torrential, and I literally couldn't see a damn thing with my wipers connected in the middle,
Starting point is 05:16:40 tugging on each other. So I pulled over. Sick to death of this bloody car, I put my phone. foot on the bonnet and pulled the left wiper out from its base, unconnected it from the right one and tossed it into the bushes, so I had the driver's part of the window screen still being wiped, even though there was absolutely nothing on the left side. I got back about 2 a.m. I lived in a block of flats in London with no parking, so I'd parked about 10 minutes walk down the road. When I got to my car at 8 a.m., I noticed straight away that the left wiper had been replaced,
Starting point is 05:17:20 not with another standard windscreen wiper that is made of two blades connected in the middle, but with a very differently shaped single back window wiper. I stared for about five minutes, and got in my car and had to go. The small blade on the left was wiping half of the passenger window, enough for me to see out of, and the left and right wipers weren't connecting anymore, because the left was too short. I still had my back wiper, so it's not like it had been taken from the back and put on the front, but the new one was identical to my back one.
Starting point is 05:17:58 No elbow connection where the blade would go, so it definitely was not a front wiper. I also had that confirmed next time I took my car into a garage. I also know for a fact that I ripped it out at the base the night before, because I put my foot on the bonnet and tugged until it popped out of the base. In driving home, there was nothing at all on the left screen. I immediately texted the guy that I was seeing to ask if he was my wiper fairy, and he not only lived an hour away but knew nothing about it. It still absolutely baffles me to this day.
Starting point is 05:18:39 Who, between the hours of 2 a.m. and 8 a.m., noticed my car parked on a.m. crappy street in the London suburbs, saw that it didn't have a left wiper as of that very evening, and then replaced it with a back wiper they just happened to have. So this is a timeline that is strange. My current boyfriend and I met in August. I met his friend and his wife in September, not their daughter, since we visited an adult restaurant late at night for this double date.
Starting point is 05:19:23 I only remember meeting them this time and not going to their home until October when he moved into his new house and had to get his things from their home. However, this is where things got weird for me. When we went to his best friend's house to pick things up, that he had stored in his friend's basement while he found a house, my boyfriend walked away while I parked the car, and I had no idea which house was theirs. I had to wait for him to come back up to get me to figure it out. Then, when we went inside, his friend's daughter, ran up to me. I don't remember knowing her, but kids are strange. But then the wife asked me how I liked her decorations.
Starting point is 05:20:08 I was confused because I had no idea how I would have known her decorations were new, as I had never been to their house. All of them acted like I should have known, one, their home location, two, that I'd met their daughter, and three, would be able to see the difference between old decorations and new. I was confused, but didn't think much of it. Kids will run up to strangers, and maybe it was easy to tell the others had I paid more attention. But, turns out, there's a date which I have no memory of. My boyfriend and I and their little family all tried to go bowling, but to be able to be bowling,
Starting point is 05:20:50 couldn't go. We went to a buffet to eat, and even hung out in their house for a bit, hence why I should have known the location of the house or met their child. Now, while I have a great memory, I played with the possibility that I simply forgot. However, my boyfriend and them have no proof that this happens. Had we gone to the buffet, my boyfriend would have paid. He never uses cash. and there is no charge on his only two cards for the date.
Starting point is 05:21:24 Also, I have pictures of almost every day that this could have possibly taken place, and nothing. Each day is accounted for, and no picture of the date either. It's rare that I don't take pictures on our dates, especially if food is involved. But all days that this date could have taken place, I have either a selfie, or other pictures proving that I would. wasn't anywhere near him. And the tracking of Google Maps also backs up that this date never happened. It seems like all four of them, for some reason, come from a timeline where this date took place.
Starting point is 05:22:05 I wonder why they all jumped, and I'm kind of anxious now. I never forget things like this, but to have no proof of the date really solidifies that I'm not just forgetting. In this timeline, it didn't happen.
