Ask Dr. Drew - France Riots: Macron Dances To Celine Dion As Paris Burns, 1,800 Arrested, Historic Landmarks Looted – Ask Dr. Drew – Ep 677

Episode Date: October 20, 2026

Dr. Drew is joined by French journalist André Bercoff and French-American actress Beatrice Rosen to discuss the ongoing riots and violence in France. Reports estimate nearly 1,800 people have been ar...rested and 500 law enforcement officials have been injured, with Fox News reporting estimates of “more than 550,000 people” participating across France. As historical French landmarks were being vandalized and burned, French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte were filmed dancing at a Celine Dion concert in Nanterre, just west of Paris. In Limoges, a fire authorities say was deliberately set gutted the city’s historic town hall, built in 1883. The local prefect called it “a catastrophe for heritage.” Beatrice Rosen is a French-American actress known for roles in major films including The Dark Knight (2008) and Chasing Liberty (2004). She has appeared in numerous television series including Charmed, Smallville, Harry’s Law, and Backstrom. A former brand ambassador for luxury house Lancel, Rosen has worked extensively in the US, UK, and French entertainment industries since 2004. Starting point is 00:00:01 All right, today is a very special stream. It is an emergency stream that we put together. I am speaking to you from the wellness company in Dallas, Texas. I'm here for a meeting. I think you guys all know the wellness company. We obviously support their products here and their organization is something I'm proud to be a part of. But I think you're also all aware about what's happening in France. And as a result of that, we put together a stream today to be able to help you make sense of this.
Starting point is 00:00:27 I listen to a good deal of French media. and two, what shall I call them, individuals, personalities jumped out at me as people who can speak to what is going on in France right now. One is Andre Burkhov. He's a journalist, essayist. He has been host of Berkoff on Tussetat. He is also, I think, on Omerta. He's on Toxa. I've seen him there. You can follow him on ex-Andre B-E-R-C-O-F-F. former communist, I found out recently, and he is someone that has lived through so much of the history of France and has deep insights into what's going on there. But before we welcome my friend Andra here, Beatrice Rosen joins us. She's a French-American actress. She has many major film roles and films concluding The Dark Night, Chasing Liberty, numerous television productions where she started in Charmed, Smallville, Harry's Law, Baxter.
Starting point is 00:01:28 A ton of stuff, you'll recognize her. But she lives in France. She is French. And she spits fire. It's one of the reasons I listened to some of her commentary because she does not pull her punches and she has deep insights into what's going on. So between Beatrice Rosen and André Berkov, you're going to get a firsthand account of what is happening and an interpretation with the historical sweep to help us make sense of it.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Because over here, it just looks complete, crazy. and nothing more, but there's a lot going on and a lot to be learned, and we're going to get right to it after this. Our laws as it pertain to substances are draconian and bizarre. The psychopaths start this right. He was an alcoholic because of social media and pornography, PTSD, love addiction, fentanyl and heroin, ridiculous. I'm a doctor for, I say, where the hell you think I learned that?
Starting point is 00:02:22 I'm just saying, you go to treatment before you kill people. I am a clinician. I observe things about these chemicals, but just deal with what's real. We used to get these calls on Loveland all the time. Educate adolescents and to prevent and to treat. You have trouble. You can't stop and you want to help stop it. I can help.
Starting point is 00:02:37 I got a lot to say. I got a lot more to say. This is not only the wellness company's office in Dallas. This is actually Dr. Peter McCullough's studio I'm in. Of course, you know, the McCullough Foundation and Nick Hulcher and Dr. McCullough, who we'd speak too often on this show. But today we're going to start with Beatrice Rosen. She can be followed on X at Beatrice underscore Rosen, ROSEN.
Starting point is 00:03:07 She is on Instagram, Beatrice underscore Rosen, and Beatrice Rosen official on YouTube. She has shorts. She has commentary. It's in French, so unless you speak French, it may be difficult to you understand. Beatrice, welcome to this program. Thanks for having me, Drew. Crazy times. Crazy times.
Starting point is 00:03:29 And that's what you said about the last time we spoke. And yet things have devolved. So I've got a ton of want to ask you about. Let me just start with. something that sort of surprised me last time was you were hinting at you thought it was maybe time for the end of the fifth republic and time for the end of a six start of a six republic. So my question is, is all the chaos a time to really unravel things and look at a sixth republic? Or shall we, as to the French, should the French really entrenched themselves in this
Starting point is 00:04:02 Fifth Republic, which Charles de Gaulle established and really make it work and make it work for the French people. I think we're at the end of our rope. You know, last time I saw you, things were bad, but, I mean, this time, it's just utter chaos. We are scared for our security. I ran away from Paris on Friday because I knew Saturday was going to be bad. I have two young children, so me and my husband. We went to the countryside to just try to get, you know, a little bit of peace. And we live not very far from the Champs de Liszt. So every time there's anything, we're, you know, right in the middle of it. And it's very scary. And yes, I still stand by what I said last time. When I spoke to you last, I remember we just had three elections in France back to back.
Starting point is 00:04:55 and our government and our president totally ignored the results of those elections. And, you know, there's social unrest that's been, you know, that the anger has been just mounting. And, you know, it's just climaxing right now. And honestly, it's very scary. I never thought I'd go through this. And believe me, we went through COVID. We know craziness. I have the same sort of gut feeling that I had back then, which is not good.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Now, I was translating Macron's speech last night for my wife in real time. And before he started, she goes, somehow he's going to blame Trump. And he opened with, I understand why you're so unhappy. It's because of the gas prices. And that's the U.S.'s fault. I was, I could not believe it. And then he went on to offer no, no. action, more talk, right? We're going to talk about it. I'm going to get a report. That's all he said.
Starting point is 00:05:58 And then he said, this was even more astonishing to me. The people that did this will pay. Oh, really? They're going to pay for the damages. They're going to pay for all those Louis Vuitton purses they took out. They're not going to pay. They're not going to figure out who this is. But the whole thing was astonishing to me. How did you react to it? Well, you know, we're used to him having speeches where he talks for a very long time to say nothing. It's actually a performance at this point. He's a theater kid. Yeah, but it's really bad.
Starting point is 00:06:30 Like, it's bad acting. Honestly, nobody expects anything anymore, but we're still disappointed every time he speaks. He is a commentator, and he actually left, fled the country. He was in hiding. on Saturday, okay? Chef de Guerre, you know, the leader of war, right? But he was in hiding on Saturday, and then he spoke and fled the country.
Starting point is 00:07:01 He's actually in the Middle East. And please don't laugh because he thinks he's going to almost single-handedly reopen the straight of her poor moves so that our fuel prices can go down. Right. But meanwhile, our own country, the capital of France is under siege, under attack, and, you know, nothing's really helping. So it's just crazy times. People are very angry. I heard, you know, it has yet to be confirmed that he was going to announce a state of emergency and backpedaled in the afternoon. And then he was stuck with that speech he had to deliver. So, you know, that's where we are now. He's in the Middle East.
Starting point is 00:07:55 The people is at home trying to survive, basically. So one of the things I've been thinking a lot about this really since we last spoke. And, you know, the French are in love with what they call manifestozo, which is demonstrations. And I think French have deluded themselves. I just thought about how particularly French left looks at 1789 and how the rest of the world just remember is 1794, which was the terror. And that the fact that it's something you idealize so much
Starting point is 00:08:36 is kind of disillusional, right? And now what I'm hearing people say is, well, oh, wait a minute, this doesn't look like French. This is something else now happening. We, like we do it in a certain way, but somebody has taken over our beloved manifestation. Well, actually, if you remember during the Olympics at the opening, there was an homage to the beheading of Marie Antoinette,
Starting point is 00:09:08 which is really violent. And actually, you know, pretty disgusting with all the books. blood everywhere. And, you know, I'm not, I wasn't a big fan of that, of that opening, to be honest with you. I didn't think it represented, it did justice to our people. So, and I think idealizing this violence, because you're right, the terror was very violent. I mean, I think there were like 500,000 people that got killed at that time. So it's not something to just, you know, it's not Disney World. It's horrible when it happens.
Starting point is 00:09:47 And right now, we don't want to be the victims of that, you know? It's a very complicated situation, basically, this unrest, because it started with high school students going to the streets because the education system is completely broken. By the way, as the hospitals, you know, all the public services in the last 10 years, are on their knees. You know, we were supposed to put Russia on its knees.
Starting point is 00:10:18 That's what our officials said. But actually, we put ourselves on our knees. So people are angry. They can't pay for heating. They can't pay for food anymore. They can't make ends meet. There's so many different angers that came together. And then we, on Saturday, we, so we had these manifest.
Starting point is 00:10:42 Yes, you want, like you said. But all these bunch of black blocks came in, and then people from the suburbs came in into all the big cities and totally looted everything. And then the violence started. It escalated. And it's totally spiraling out of control. And the people feel that the president and the government
Starting point is 00:11:08 didn't take the measure of what was going on. because, for example, we just had the Pope over in Paris during the Pope's visit. We had 14,000 police officers for what was a total peaceful event. On Saturday, they planned only 10,000 police officers. Why? Why? Well, why not? Why not?
Starting point is 00:11:35 What are we doing here? But in the U.S., what starts happening much sooner is people start calling. calling for the National Guard, which is the military, essentially. And do you have any provisions like that? Are people thinking that way at all? Some people are calling for it. But you see, here's the thing. Our president is very unpopular.
Starting point is 00:11:59 We have a presidential election in six months, right? So it's a very tense moment. He's very unpopular. People really, there was a lot of hatred after, the last 10 years. And so it's sort of, on one hand, you want the military and you want a state of emergency to protect your life. And on the other hand, do you really want to give this person more power, you know, than when you see, we're all stuck in this. It's like a chess game that we're really losing. There's no way out here. There's no good solution. It's really, I don't know
Starting point is 00:12:41 what's going to happen. I'm desperate. I love France. I'm half American. I'm half French. I love both of my countries. I'm so sad. People are crying. I saw police officers on television with tears in their eyes. It's just... Well, they're tears in their eyes. I interpreted it as, first of all, they were being beaten, and secondly, they couldn't do their job. They wouldn't be allowed to do their job, and they weren't giving enough resources. Yeah. So do you think this is going to propel, is this going to propel the Melanchon in his way-left group or Marine Le Pen and the more right-leading? I don't think this is very good for Melanchon because people are going to be, of course, very scared of he's the far-left candidate. Because of all this violence now, people, I'm sure he's going to actually lose some votes.
Starting point is 00:13:38 and Marine Le Pen is going to benefit from this. You know, it's crazy. In the media, now they're accusing, it's almost like they're accusing manipulations from other countries. I mean, the guys, the people who were looting were, you know, from France. They weren't like flown out from... But many, money. Money, no doubt, from, I mean, I'm sure there's money from other countries.
Starting point is 00:14:13 Somebody said there's, you know, there are like eight student groups and 54 other, others groups involved in organizing this thing and bringing money into it. I saw a guy on Instagram yesterday who was showing the website dedicated to organizing. It's an extremely elaborate website that you sign into to get your signs made and to show up in a certain place and where the blockades are. There's money. And it does, I doubt is French, because to be fair, France is largely broke. So somebody else is funding it. Well, somebody flew in Greta Thunberg the other day.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Exactly. What is she doing with the high school students? I mean, seriously, usual suspects. So I don't know who's funding for her trip. Of course, we, you know, we have secret services. they know how to identify black blocks from Italy, from Germany, you know, who all gather where chaos can happen. Why didn't they stop them before, you know, at the train station,
Starting point is 00:15:21 why didn't they stop them from coming in? The whole thing, like everybody's asking a lot of questions. I know asking questions these days is not really popular, but you have to. I mean, you have to ask the questions. I mean, you know, just back to the student thing, I watched a documentary. It was long. It was about a high school teacher. I guess it was a famous one back in the early 2000, about a middle school.
Starting point is 00:15:50 This was a high school teacher who was struggling, dealing with all the different cultures he was presented with. And he was teaching French literature. And it was really a very accurate, I thought, depiction of, you know, the struggle of trying to bring everybody to the same place culturally. And that's always been what France is. France isn't a race. France isn't even necessarily a region.
Starting point is 00:16:19 It's been all throughout. It's finally a language. But for many centuries, it wasn't even a language. But bringing everybody on board to the culture is incredibly difficult. And maybe a fool's errand. Yeah, it's a very touchy.
Starting point is 00:16:37 subject because you're touching immigration, you're touching all these topics, and it's very complicated because since we're in the EU, we don't have almost a say anymore in what really goes on, which is a problem for me because I think, you know, the power should be for the people. So, you know, even sometimes you want to do things on a national level, and then you can't do it because of the EU constitution. It's a very complex situation France is in. We pay a lot of money to the EU. We pay more than we get back.
Starting point is 00:17:22 There's a lot of poor people. The numbers are increasing in France. It's just a whole thing is a mess. I don't even know where to begin to try to explain it to someone who's not from Europe because I know you probably know, but maybe some people in your audience are a little too. It's very hard. It's very hard because we put ourselves in a situation of self-sabotage constantly. And if you say anything, then you know how it goes. You have, well, you have this long recent history of shame about being a colonializing empire and power, right?
Starting point is 00:18:05 And that's where this all starts. And if you're so beaten down by that, I, listening to a lot of French material, started hearing people talk about four years ago going, well, no, maybe being French is not so bad after all. I mean, after all, I mean, Napoleon is part of our history, and we had to understand him. And, you know, nobody's history is all good. And I noticed that change.
Starting point is 00:18:31 And I thought, this is something. and things have sort of moved ever since. And I feel like somehow what's happening here is a backlash to that feeling that people want to sort of defend what it is to be French. Absolutely, but we have the same issues. I feel that we have also in the States where, you know, there's always this like emotional blackmail and guilt where, you know, I don't feel response. I wasn't even born. Like, how am I responsible for anything? I, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:19:07 I don't want to raise my kids with a name. So to apologize for breathing. Like, what are we doing here? You know, like, yes, let's create a future that's positive for all of us together. Looting isn't positive. Looting isn't going to change anything. It's going to make things worse. The public debt, that's what I need to tell your audience.
Starting point is 00:19:32 France's public debt has increased over 50% while Macron was president. So we, this is a disaster. We're in a place way worse than what Greece was when it was. It's reminiscent. It feels the same. It looks the same. And it's probably going to end the same, right? It's going to end.
Starting point is 00:20:00 It's going to be worse because we owe way more. more money. And you know how it was too big to fail in 2008? Well, we're too big to save. And Germany bailed out Greece a bit. And that's not going to happen here because Germany's got its own problems. Just hang on one second. I'm going to keep you across this break. Again, thank you for helping us struggle with this. Let me look quickly on my streams and stuff, see what people are thinking about this. Oh, gosh, they're so, they're all over the place. they're trying to you know this country's trying to understand this through our own prism and it's really hard because we are dealing with some of the same stuff but it's much more acute where you
Starting point is 00:20:39 are we we are like in good shape by comparison but he's some of the same issues all right we'll take a little break back with beatrice rosen right after this hey dr drew here and we are interested in health and longevity and the longevity nutrient is fatty 15 discovered amazingly by a veterinarian who was responsible for the navy fleet of dolphins. Turns out dolphins are healthier when they have adequate amounts of pentadecinoic acid, which is C-15. It also, for us, it helps humans as well, reduces the oxidative stress on our cell membranes, which is part of the aging process, called ferruposis. So she takes it, I take, whole family takes it. And if you'd like some, go to Dr. Drew.com slash fatty 15 for
Starting point is 00:21:22 yours. There are discounts there. Oh my God, look, Drew, it's a dolphin. Oh, my gosh. Hey, Dr. Drew here. And even when we travel, we bring the new convenient fatty gummies. They're delicious and they're portable and they're great. And remember, this is a longevity ingredient. It fights against the oxidated stress on our cell membranes. We called that process ferroposis, discovered in dolphin research by Dr. Van Watson. And I'm taking this every day even when I travel.
Starting point is 00:21:58 It's fatty 15. Hey, Dr. Drew here. When I am traveling, I am always so grateful that we bring along Paleo Valley products. Both, this is the grass-fed venison, which is delicious, one of my favorite. Also, they have the grass-fed and finished beef as well, which are chicken and pork. And the superfood bars, which have saved me a million times. It's made from the bone broth, which, again, is 100% grass-fed, finished beef, bone broth, and it's made from real bone, not hides, and other superfoods within this bar, including blueberries and cashews.
Starting point is 00:22:27 Check the label. This is a great supplement and wonderful to have on hand when we're traveling. It wasn't all Dr. Drew or anything. Why would I screw myself? What am I like, Dr. Drew? And just piling on the paleo story, reminder that the grass-fed and finished beef is different. It's about 80 calories per scoop, 13 grams of collagen protein, high in glycine, and I think proline, yep, proline, and glycine is a precursor of a glutathione, important antioxidant. No chemical solvents, no dairyway, GMOs.
Starting point is 00:23:01 Listen, I love the chocolate. And for a limited time, we've got the pumpkin. spice and they're also great. You know, it's just these are delicious products and it's really hard to make bone broth taste good and they manage it. And of course, they're in Autumn, who is the founder, is deeply committed to regenerative farming, which is so important these days. Again, go to Dr.due.com slash paleo valley for 15% off your first order and 20% off when you subscribe. Beatrice Rosen is still with me and we're going to have, we're going to have Andre Burkhoff in here in mere moments. And Beatrice and I are struggling.
Starting point is 00:23:35 we're trying to understand or trying to make sense of what's going on. Let's put it this way, Beatrice. I bring Andre in here. If you were going to be prescriptive, what do you think ought to be done? My personal opinion, which is only my opinion, it's not a fact. I feel it's not what should be done, but is what is going to happen. I feel like the president is waiting for things to deteriorate to, to discerning. To, to, to, to, to, to, start a state of emergency, because if he does, it will only last for a certain amount of time. And my feeling is that he doesn't want to leave, right, in six months. So chaos could be, that's only my personal opinion, right? So I feel that's the card he's playing. And it's not good for any of us. And the alternative is, and what I guess frightens him is Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella coming in and undoing all his wonderful work.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Which, I don't know how much, again, I don't know how much they can undo because you always have to validate everything with the EU, right? So, and the president actually put all his friends and allies at key positions. positions. So I don't know if they'll actually be able to do anything. I don't know. It's a mess. I feel your despair. I'm not used to you being in despair. I'm used to you spitting fire, but I think clarity will emerge. I really do. I understand why it seems like no way out. And as you mentioned earlier on our sort of stream here, the chat, people are talking about, you know, the fact that we can defend ourselves in this country and we have, you know, the right to carry arms. And many people in this country look at some of the really outrageous stuff going on there going, well, that might not happen here. But there was plenty of looting and there were plenty of destruction of commercial properties back in the, you know, during the COVID era.
Starting point is 00:26:02 So it's not like it doesn't happen here. it does. However, we've sort of woken up to how much these things are organized and funded, and these NGOs are all over the world. They're not just in the United States. They're all over the world. Caleb, is Andre standing by? I'll let Beatrice give us a last thought that before I bring him in, but is he ready to join us? Yes, he's ready. Okay, so finish your thought there, Beatrice, and we'll bring Andre in. No, again, I think it's a very complex situation where, yes, there might be people financing from the outside. But also there's the, you know, the suburbs issue.
Starting point is 00:26:39 There's the black blocks issue. I think it's a multifactual problem. And that's what's making it so difficult to tackle. Let's see what. Yeah, it's ringing Andre N is at Andre Berkov on X and Andre Burkhov. F.R. I've seen him on Toxin. Have I seen you on Omerta also, Andre? Yeah, and Sudradio.
Starting point is 00:27:04 The radio. Andre, in all these eteses, right? In all, in two states, yeah. So, first of all, I'm going to keep you both from it. And Andre, I want to talk to you once I let Beatrice go about your heritage, because I saw you being interviewed and I was like, oh my goodness, this is very interesting.
Starting point is 00:27:28 But I don't know if you heard Beatrice's despair and her sort of feeling that things are going to collapse one way or another and there's not much to be done. Do you agree with that? Well, I agree partly, but I'm not as despaired as Beatrice looks. I think, you know, first, the situation is not new. It has been a certain level, but it's certainly not new. what happened is we are paying 45 to 50 years on complete, how is it, the dust under the carpet, you know? I mean, every politician who came, don't forget, the last time that our budget was equal, you know, equilibrated.
Starting point is 00:28:12 That was 50 years ago. Last time in France, like you and he, if we spend more than we earn, we say, hey, hey, what we do? doing with your money. The states, all the politicians left and right, left and right, make it okay, we can flow. You know, it's okay. It's, it's nothing. It's the state that spends. But who is the states? It's you, me, Beatrice, everything. So they say, well, it's not a problem. No, no, no. Because, you know, a state is me, say the president, say the minister, say the administration. So what France is, is waking up. for a long nightmare, but the nightmare was very good.
Starting point is 00:28:57 From 45 to 75, it was the best years. Dogol came and rebuild the nation and everything. And then with this car and mostly with Mitterrand, they say, okay, let's spend. Spending the state, you know, I mean, we are in USSR. It's not politically, not the police, not the Goulag, thank God. But in an economic way, it's incredible. I mean, we spoke, Beatrice spoke about the debt. Of course, but everybody let the debt flow, you know, and Macron more than everybody.
Starting point is 00:29:32 But the other one, I mean, 10 years ago, 20 years ago and everything, it was like that. So, no, what happened? And then, I mean, let's talk mass immigration. I mean, I'm an immigrant. We, we have, I don't talk about the America. But when the quantity became quality, it breaks everything. We are receiving 500,000 immigrants every year. France, France, only France.
Starting point is 00:29:59 500,000 immigrants. So what happened? I mean, at a time, it's another civilization. It's, I don't think. And the problem is a few people from African, pay, I mean, they are making the problem worse for hundreds and thousands of, Islam, Muslims and African and black, or not.
Starting point is 00:30:26 They make them pay this horrible situation. And you have many, many, many. I mean, the majority of people behave very well, like very well. It's no problem. Don't forget the Asians. We don't have any problem. So the problem is this mass immigration, plus the debt, plus the thing that we have politicians, like everywhere,
Starting point is 00:30:48 they think about their reelection. The only problem is re-election. And I'm sorry, I will talk about America. When Elon Musk say the problem is we import millions and millions of people. Why? Because we want to make millions and millions of voters. The party, the formation that takes millions of immigrants illegal or legal, they went first that, well, you're going to vote for me and I'm going to take care of you.
Starting point is 00:31:16 This is true. It was true in America. It's true in Europe. of Europe, not every every country. But so that's why, so we are now, we are recalting, we are taking what we have, we have make instrumentalized for tens and tens of years, I mean 20, 40, 45 years. So we're now at a breaking point. So how, what do you do?
Starting point is 00:31:46 What do you do? Is, you know, first thing, very simple. discipline. Order. Law and order. I'm sorry, maybe I will be as a reactionary, a fascist, that or anything. But low and order. I mean, you have, I'll tell you, you have the scoundrels that you see on the TV, but do you have the scoundrels that you don't see on government, on organization? I say la racquet du ho and the racquoise du bas. I mean, the scounders of the high stakes and the scounders of the base. That's what we have. The people. that let this situation grow are the politicians, some of the elites, some of these people
Starting point is 00:32:26 say, oh, well, that's not my problem. I'm living in a very comfortable home. I don't care about that, you know, since it's not my own men. Now, they see their home, their home jacking, say so some homejackings near their apartment, the wonderful apartments. Oh, what's going on? What is it? Of course. Of course. You let the situation grow and grow and grow. And you say, What is this? What is this? Because they were blind, there were deaf.
Starting point is 00:32:56 They didn't want to see anything. And now you have the results. But I don't think it is finished. I don't think it's the last game, the end of the game. Oh, I thank God. And would it, I'm surprised that nobody over there says to themselves,
Starting point is 00:33:18 you know, you said Mittara-on was, a problem. Sixty-eight is where this all started. Is it all just once again where socialism goes and highly socialistic ideas, which includes Keynesian economics where you just debt spend, your deficit spend as part of the deal. And socialism eventually falls apart. Well, Drew, who was socialist? Mitterrand was socialist by word. After one year of power, he said, everybody that is, is legal. has any links with capitalism must not be a socialist. Ah, that was great, good people. We are living, you know, the new era. It will be, I remember, you know, a bit more. It was, we are going for the
Starting point is 00:34:03 dark ages to the fantastic paradise edges. One year after, he said, while the Frank is going down, it's down the drain, so he changes his politics. And the right, the same, because you know what, they took the state. Everybody right and in France, it's about the state, centralized state. Who's liberal in France? Nobody's liberal in France.
Starting point is 00:34:27 I mean, around the political class, nobody except one or two exceptions. The other state, state, state, administration, administration, administration. Okay. But who is making, it's not the entrepreneurial, who is making jobs, who is doing jobs, who is risking?
Starting point is 00:34:45 You know, it's the skin on the game, you know, the skin, the Nicola, the author, the skin on the tail, I don't know, skin of the game, you know, I mean, you put your skin on the table. So that's what happened in France. So now they see it's done with the debt, with everything, with the FMI coming, the IMF coming, with the state of Greece or not. They say, okay, we must change that. And just the thing, I'm not in this a lot about, I don't think we can do nothing. because the European Union. European Union was a complete, you know, this is why we lost a part of democracy.
Starting point is 00:35:23 In 2005, there was a referendum. Last time there were a poll, I mean, not a poll, a referendum, I'm sorry. And they said to the French, you like the European Constitution, 55s of the French people voted no. And they say, well, to hell you, you voted no. We'll do it anyway. So what happened is this European thing on us, but, you know, when it happened with the electricity, with the gas, Portugal and Spain said, look, we cannot follow you on that.
Starting point is 00:35:58 We are not going to align the electricity on the gas. They did it. They are of the European Union. Why did the press not did it, you know? I'm sorry, André, we usually agree on a lot of things, but on this, I have to. to disagree. Spain and Portugal came out of the the electricity European market because they don't have nuclear power. Our purpose is to make
Starting point is 00:36:26 German energy prices lower thanks to our nuclear power. And they're using us, basically. So they would never let us out. They don't actually and they wouldn't. we are stuck because the EU needs us. We pay more than we get more than we get back. Our farmers are dying because of it because they're making treaties with everywhere around the world. And they're like, oh, the Green Deal, which has nothing green about it, by the way, when you import meat from New Zealand to France, how is that green?
Starting point is 00:37:05 You know what I mean? When French have its own meat, anyway, I really disqual. disagree with you on that. And I feel that your vision is very left versus right, where my vision is globalists versus a strong nation. No, no, no, no, Beatrice, you can say that. I'm not left versus right. I said exactly the contrary. I'm sorry, you're not, you're not listening. I listen to you. No, you said, no, I agree. You said that both left and right spent like socialists, basically, but you still have a very left and right vision where even if, even though they both, you know, both spent, you don't integrate this vision of globalism. Why are they importing mass migration
Starting point is 00:37:49 to also dilute the cultural nation, you know, the cultures of the European nations because they want and make a federal state. So, and you know, America is is a federal country, but it's not the same history as Europe. It's totally different. You can't mix both of them. Well, we don't, we don't trust anything federal. We don't trust the federal. You know, the federalist papers need to be re-read now, both in Europe and here. Excuse me, as they say. Let's let Andre finish. And then Beatrice, I'll let you comment, and then we'll take a break. No, no, it's not at all that. It's not because a globalist and identity is something that I completely defend and years and years ago. No, no, it's not the same. It's not theoretical. I say, and I insist, when you say,
Starting point is 00:38:43 Beatrice, oh, we can do anything because the EU is here. No, no, no, no, this is not true. We have many ways, you know, we have many domains where France can do something if they have the will. You see, it's a question of will and it's a question of courage. And I don't say, oh, no, no, no, we can do anything. It's going, you know, no, no. It's not true. It is not true, but it is not true, but needs what look, you know, we were taking your inspiration, we are clogging outdoors, it's terrible.
Starting point is 00:39:16 This is the European Union who doesn't take the law and order in any sense. Is the European? No, it's France. It's the French government, like the English government. Remember the grooming gangs? 30 years of grooming gangs, Pakistanis and Bangladeshi, with 250,000 English girls
Starting point is 00:39:35 from 10 to 14 years, that have been raped and transformed into prostitutes? Who makes that? Who decided that? Who? It's European Union? I mean, no, it is the will and the courage of the governments that lead us. This is always the question of will and courage.
Starting point is 00:39:55 And when you have the will and the courage, you can do many things, but you have to have the will and the courage. And unfortunately, we didn't have many will and courage in this. the last presidents that we have and the last government that we have, whether left or right. I agree with you. Hold on. Wait, wait. Excuse me, Ma'am.
Starting point is 00:40:17 Andre, I'm going to have Beatrice finish. And then we're going to take a break. Beatrice, after the break, I'm going to let you go. Into the break, I'm going to let you go. I appreciate you being here and always your insights. You straddle both countries and so you're an important person to listen to for us over here. I think I'm looking at the commentary in the chat rooms and people, are interested in the fact that we in the United States feel like, oh, this is stuff we've been
Starting point is 00:40:42 dealing with too. This is, and how much worse it can get, you're showing us. But, Biot, and Andre, when we get back from the break, I want to review your history a little bit, too, so people are going to understand your insights come from a pretty big sweep of experience. Beatrice, last thoughts before the break. Yeah, I agree with you on Will and Courage. I don't disagree with you on, you know, the grooming gangs and all that. Of course, we agree. But you're portraying it as if it's either or. I'm saying we need both. We need to get out of the EU and we need will and we need will and courage because, yes, Brexit, they came out of the EU. But then if you put another globalist there, it's as if you didn't, you know, both things need to happen. It's not either or.
Starting point is 00:41:29 So it's Frexit and then nationalism sort of return to localism at least, yes? Not nationalism because it's like a, it seems like a bad word, but just identity, identity, identity, identity, identity, identity, identity, identity, identity, identity, Beatrice, thank you. We're going to take a little break. We're right back. We're a privilege to serve as the chief patient officer at the Wellness Company, and one of our top priorities has been to help families prepare for emergencies, avoid trips to the the ER or urgent care, which is a waste of time and money and you're exposing. It's just not the way medicine should be delivered. And I want to remind you about one of the most popular products amongst new and returning
Starting point is 00:42:12 customers that, of course, is the medical emergency kit. And even as a physician, I keep one, we do not travel without one ever. The travel kit particularly was exactly what I always gave my patients when they travel. You can go to doctor.com slash TWC to check out all of the kits and as well get a 10% discount. There are six different kits, each for different situations. And children, four to 17 years of age, could be assisted with first aid, travel, medical, and contagion. But it is all guided by telehealth medicine. By medical professionals, having a kit means immediate access at the first sign of difficulty.
Starting point is 00:42:51 And every kid is supported and guided by a medical professional via telehealth. This is not self-directed usage. This means you're not guessing what drug you ought to. to be using or what you're dosing ought to be. There's also a guidebook that helps you educate yourself about what you have in your kits, and you can order refills of all the medications, patient satisfaction. We have measured it, and it has been extraordinarily positive. For 10% off, your purchase, just head on over to Dr. Drew.com slash Gwc.
Starting point is 00:43:24 Andre Burkhov on X, Andreberkhov.f.f.comf on Tuce Zeta on sued radio. where I first encountered him. Actually, I got her, you interviewing Beatrice as well. And at that point, it was about her frustrations with Macron, I think, and now she's completely crestfallen. I wonder if you wouldn't mind, just to people understand the insights, because I always thought you had some really important insights, but when I heard your history as a communist and if somebody interviewed there,
Starting point is 00:44:01 You know, there in 68, and in Cuba, well, you were sympathetic, that's for sure. And in Cuba and thought you thought that Mr. Castro, who I've also met, and he was a crazy dude, was a genius, which he was, but he was kind of a evil genius in his own little way. But talk to us about what you have seen and why it gives you better sort of perspective on where you guys. are now. Well, you know, I mean, I won't tell all my life, Drew, thank you for asking me. The thing is, I was born and raised in Lebanon from a Russian origin father and a Spanish origin mother, you see. And that makes me an excellent French. And I was born in the, I lived 25 years of my life in the Middle East. I speak Arabic and I read Arabic not very well with the newspaper. So when I hear,
Starting point is 00:45:00 let's take about the Middle East, many things, and I say, it's much too complicated, and people take it on black and white, you know, you're either, and this is in all the domains, you see, when, I mean, the people are binary, terribly, I mean, manipulated to binary. Okay, you agree with me, or you don't agree with me. If you don't agree with me, you're of the evil camp. You're not at the, I am the good people. You're the, what is this nonsense? I mean, and it's incredible that we arrived. I mean, I want to discuss with people that are not agree with me. I don't want to be discussed with my clothes, you know.
Starting point is 00:45:41 So it gave me a sort of distance, you know, with having the left of the right, because you have people fantastic, I mean, with these etiquettes, without people who humanly are fantastic, who made fantastic things by either can, and you have people who made. terrible criminal genocidal things on both camps. I mean, I mean, communism gave us, well, Mao Zetung, the great humanitarian,
Starting point is 00:46:14 Pol Potts from Cambodia, the great humanists, I mean, everything. So, I mean, you have millions and millions of death because people, this is what you say, this is my ideology, and this is what you must follow. We all know that history has taught us many lessons about that. How do we, it's like we don't teach history, I guess, was it Churchill that pointed that out, or there was actually an Indian scholar that did before he. And how, you know, a pole pot has been, you know, sort of forgotten in the background, and he's a great example of exactly what you're talking about.
Starting point is 00:46:51 And the reality is that social evil is always done in the next. name of the good. Always. Absolutely. Always. And the realization of that evil requires sort of bottom-up participation. It requires people reporting their neighbors for not wearing a mask during COVID. It requires somebody reporting that Anne Frank is in the attic. This is the bottom-up piece of useful idiots, frankly, which seems to have been, people are, by the way, Andre, watching the, there's a lot of video out there that's of suspect origin and maybe AI whatnot. But one of this getting a lot of play over here is the woman standing outside of, there was a Louis Vuitton or something going, this is not what we, this is not the movement, this is not it, but they, they are the
Starting point is 00:47:50 useful idiots. That is the movement. They just don't understand it. Because you know what? They say that their cause is she was saying like that exactly it's a good example well i am for the cause why are you doing this to me and they say they say why don't care about you i mean they have a shop we want to lose the shop to hell with you are you for the cause so take a shove it you know that's exactly there she is here here's the video there she is absolutely there she is absolutely there she is that interview we're on soon radio you know but you know what you know what they were saying something Don't forget Iran. 1978.
Starting point is 00:48:29 When Khomeini began to rise in power, he was in France, by the way, and we sent him to Tehran. And who was with him? The communist, the socialist, or the left, the intellectuals, they say, oh, fantastic. The Shah, he must absolutely mean the fascist is going out. Comeney will come and we will make a fantastic socialist, progressist country. Khomeini came, and in three weeks he wiped them out, he massacred them, all the leftists and all that. And this is, you know, and history repeats itself at each time, you know, they say, oh, we're going to do good cause. And we see it in France.
Starting point is 00:49:09 When, you know, when Melanchot and all these guys say, yes, so we are going, he's a very true politician. But after a while, the place, oh, we don't need you. We don't need you. And in 10 years, if Melasher wins, in very few years, they'll say, we don't need you. Okay, now go out, we'll wipe you out and we'll make something that we want. That's history. Alas. What about this thing that I think I've seen watching your country, watching France culturally,
Starting point is 00:49:41 which is that in recent years, people have begun to try to embrace what it is to be French and the French culture. I really saw it happening most specifically where it began was in scholarship around Napoleon, them saying, you know, maybe, you know, it's condemning him for the slave business in the West Indies. Maybe it wasn't all that clear cut as we thought. And maybe his treatment of women was, you know, sort of more nuanced than we thought. And after all, he's a part of our culture and we need to own our culture. Is that still happening? Is that what, and will they welcome others into that culture, or is it going to be, is that too much to ask?
Starting point is 00:50:25 Is that not going to happen? No, no, that's a very central question. I'll tell you why. Because when Macron said, Macron, our president, he said there's no French culture. He said that. He said, I know, you have a different culture in France. But I wanted to remind this guy that. coming from Lebanon, coming and I'm throwing the Middle East, you don't know how many thousands and
Starting point is 00:50:54 thousand people in South America and everywhere. We're absolutely in love with French culture, in love with French writers, in love with French intellectuals. I can tell you, I was living in Beirut, Beirut, and people were absolutely reading, and many people reading the French newspaper about Jean-Paul Sartre about all this. And I will tell you, more. In the 1950s, 1980s, the great newspaper, weekly newspaper in France were L'Express and Le Poin. It was a very big, big, big, big newspaper. Who was writing, rewriting the French journalist, rewriting in French, was a Jew from Cairo and a Coptic Christian from Cairo. These two Egyptians, born in Cairo, raised in Egypt, were rewritten.
Starting point is 00:51:47 rewriting in French, rewriting the French of the French journalist of the most important weeklies in France. So if these stupid politicians don't understand what was and still is and still is the prestige of the French culture and the French language and the France writing, well, it's very sorry, I'm very sorry about that for them, but mostly for us, you see?
Starting point is 00:52:13 Now, you know, I know, the history of France, has been somewhat fragmented, but it is a unified culture and unified language and has been since, you know, with a 14th probably. But you mentioned the love of French intellectuals. I'm gonna say something a little provocative, which is that France has also,
Starting point is 00:52:34 because of the love of the intellectual in France, it's been the source of ideologies and terrible ideas. And the French tends to tend to get rid of them pretty quick, but they infect the right. rest of the world. Things like post-structuralism is still absolutely, you know, damaging education this country. The French theory, the French theory. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. It's not good. The problem is, no, you know, yes, you, you, you, again, a very touchy question. They're very interesting. The thing is, if you're a real intellectual and open intellectual, you
Starting point is 00:53:17 you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, favor what we call in the disputasio. I mean, the, the, the encounter of culture, the encounter of the minds, encounter ideology. Of course, if an opinion, if a construction turns into ideology, this is the end. For me, the real intellectuals is absolutely not an endologist. And you see, Marx gave up, Marx gave up to Stalin. Marx is an intellectual. He has his opinion. He was completely wrong about many things. He was right maybe as some things. But he was an intellectual. But when you take Stalin or Lenin taking that wanting power, he used the works. Like, look, Nietzsche was not a Nazi. And the Nazi ideologist took Nietz and take, oh, look, we are.
Starting point is 00:54:17 And if you read Nietzsche, you read Nietzsche, you see that he's not at all the Nazi ideology. So it's who is using the thing? Who is using for purpose of power, for purpose of massacre? And they use these alibis. It's the intellectuals become an alibi. And that's the real danger. course. Yes, you're right. Although you guys have a little blind spot. It's interest you didn't bring this guy up who's one of the smartest and one of the biggest assholes. It's Jean-Jacques Rousseau
Starting point is 00:54:51 and his effect on Robs Pierre. He was a horrible human being. Formerly human being. They have five children. He left at the steps of a horse of a mom to leave the, and just became paranoid later in life and had these crazy disputes. But a musician, brilliant, wrote operas, like the smartest guy ever. But, oh man, you guys have a blind spot with him because the idealization of 1789. Yeah, but not anymore.
Starting point is 00:55:22 We live, you know, so the man is born good and society betrays us. This is the business. It excuses. Excuse have become a business. You see, I always say we have, it's more terrible the providers of hate than the businessmen of excuses, the men who fabricate excuses.
Starting point is 00:55:45 Oh, yes, well, he's like that, you know, because he has a terrible childhood and everything. You may understand it's, and this is what, it's a cancer. It's really cancer. Yeah, yeah, I agree. And then two more things I want to quickly ask you about. I want to hear about your transition. from somebody who thought Castro had a great plan where you are. But before you do, anti-Semitism in France,
Starting point is 00:56:13 you guys don't seem to really talk about that. It looks not good to me. There's rumors here that Jews were targeted in, was it Marseille or Lyon or something. What do you say to that? No, there is, of course, something very trick and very, very grave as the importation of the Israeli-Palestinia, of the Esri Arab conflict in France. I mean, in France and in Europe, not only in France, you know.
Starting point is 00:56:46 But this is a very interesting story and very tricky because it's not only the Jewish part of Israel. You know what? They made Israel into a scapegoat like the wish were scapegoats about, oh, he's white. they were white. There was supposed all to die. Israel is a colonized country. All the cliches that were assembled on Israel terribly. Or I always say, tell me, why don't you say a thing about the genocide?
Starting point is 00:57:23 This is a real genocide of Christians in Nigeria. Why don't you say what happened in the Uyghur in China? Why don't you say slavery in Mauritania and Sudan? No, no, no. Nobody talks about it. that. No, no, no, no, no, you have only, only, only Israel, Gaza and everything. So what is it? Well, some of the anti-Semites say, oh, fantastic. We can talk about the Jews and we won't be, we won't go into court. But I think this think about Israel, Palestine, have served
Starting point is 00:57:57 the leftist to say, well, we're against that because it's a colonial country and everything. And I say, look, what about the Kurds? What about the, what about people that have been slaughtered? What about Saudi Arabia, Congo? What about Congo? Hundreds of thousands millions, I mean, have been. And what about, I'll tell you, the slave trade. That's very interesting.
Starting point is 00:58:25 Because you see, this is not about Jews, but it's to say slave trades for centuries, centuries taking a slave enough. Okay, there have been transatlantic slaves, okay, with whites and everything terrible. But nobody talks about the Islamo-Arabic slave, I mean, treat the slave trade, and the black slave trade from Africa. And don't forget that the Islamorabic slave, they castrated in a few centuries 11 million people. 11 million people have. have been castrated and, of course, killed because they didn't want these blacks to reproduce. So nobody talks about that. You see, Drew, this is a problem.
Starting point is 00:59:10 We are choosing our, this is our enemies. So enemy is this and this and this, Israel and everything. The other, well, it's not our problem. Why? Because they are the victims. Because rationally, they are the victims. It's the grooming gangs in England. It's exactly.
Starting point is 00:59:29 We don't talk about the Bangladesian. We don't talk about the Pakistanis. No, no, no. They are sanctified because they are victims of the white racism. It's a reproduction of the old thing. And the third word, I mean, it was, I mean, remember 50 years ago, it was like that. First, it was Vietnam, then it's Palestine, and it's, so it's, of course, I'm for independence. I was, for independence of Vietnam.
Starting point is 00:59:59 Of course, I was, you know, when I was young, what do you say about communism? They say, oh, it's equality. It's fantastic. There will really equality everywhere, not the oppressors and no oppressed, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. We are the sound of page about that. And then you see the reality. And then you have the narrative and then you have the reality. And when reality comes to me, I don't say, oh, no, no, I don't want.
Starting point is 01:00:25 Fuck reality. I'm sorry to say that. But I want my narrative. this is the most important thing for me. This is why thousands of people manipulated still thinks, no, no, don't talk me about reality. I don't want to hear anything about reality. I want to hear my narrative.
Starting point is 01:00:42 So that's a problem. Lastly, how did reality come through to you? Well, by traveling, by making my work as a journalist, I have traveled a lot everywhere, I mean, really. and I saw that the thing was much more complicated, much more nuanced, much more difficult to grasp,
Starting point is 01:01:05 and you must, you know, I say always after the show, I say, look, look at Dr. Drew, look at my shows, but after that, read, read, read, inform yourself, inform yourself, read as much as you can, take your time.
Starting point is 01:01:21 If not, okay, you say on the same, on the same holds and on the same little ground, you see. So reality struck me by reading and by traveling. Yeah, we don't read anymore, especially not read nonfiction. We just got to read history to be sure we don't repeat it. My share, Andre, thank you so much for this. It's late there, and I appreciate you staying up.
Starting point is 01:01:48 And it's interesting to me that both you and Beatrice, We don't know each other well, but I feel like I've spent a little time with both of you, and you both seem Beatrice more shaken and you more shaken up, if that makes sense by what's going on in your country. Because Beatrice has become less clear about things and you've become more clear. So I appreciate your sharing your thoughts for this, because it is a little mysterious over here, and I knew you guys would have an interesting perspective.
Starting point is 01:02:22 Where would you like people to find you? Well, I'm at my Twitter, you know, Andre Barkoff, at Andre Barkoff, in Sudradio with, and I hope to make, to improve my English so as we can do things because I really, you know, I come very much to the United States, and I'll tell you, you know what? I'll tell you this last thing in what's happening to France. The French are absolutely loving your first two amendments, freedom and expression, and the right to wear arms.
Starting point is 01:03:07 No, you're right. This is new. This is new. You're right. You're right. There's a refrain. Look, COVID taught us that we can lose our Bill of Rights very quickly. and you're teaching us that we need to be thankful for our Bill of Rights.
Starting point is 01:03:24 And so there's some, speaking of reality coming in, there's some lessons being learned by all here. So Andre, thank you so much, my friend. Thank you. Thank you, Rue. You got it. Cheers. All right, so there you are. There's some reports from the country that we're all sort of looking at
Starting point is 01:03:41 and trying to understand what's going on. And if you come over with nothing but a gratitude that you have been granted a Bill of Rights, I will consider that a triumph. Let me quickly look at where you guys are with the re-stream and the chats and whatnot, and which, oh, boy, is a long way here. Ooh, okay. What would Macron have to show him about? Uh-oh.
Starting point is 01:04:05 Yeah, Canada's got its own, you know, we get our Canadian report from Viva Fry, sort of. I mean, he's got a certain point of view, but it's, I think Alberta is having a referendum of some guy, almost as we speak. Caleb, anything? Did this help clarify things, do you think? Do you walk away with a somewhat deeper understanding of things over there? It's complicated, as Beatrice kept saying. It's really interesting to see how AI-generated images and videos are playing a part in this whole thing
Starting point is 01:04:36 because you see stuff and then 10 minutes later, someone debunks it and says, well, the video isn't real. The story may be real, but the video is not real. The photo is not real. And it seems like that might be part of the plans. You don't really know how bad things are because nobody's going to trust what they're seeing. I think that is happening, that for sure. And I don't think they've woken up here in France quite yet to how bad the money.
Starting point is 01:05:01 Beatrice is talking about globalists. That comes in through these NGOs. And I don't think they really understand. I remember when Andre first saw Doge, she was like, this is hallucinating, the magnitude of the fraud. You couldn't believe it. I'm saying they got they got to come to that a little bit too but it's hard to describe to people what that is until you uncover it and we'll see what they're what they come up with this time goes on here I want to thank Caleb for pulling this together Alan Dershowitz coming in
Starting point is 01:05:31 to me, we'll have Eric Bowling tomorrow Michael Gates running for attorney general of California do need to pay your attention to him when we get to Alan Dershowitz Barrell Nash Joel Pollock all in one show amazing we have just great give Bobby League coming in here, that's going to be fun. Never so, that's going to be really interesting. There's a lot coming. Victor David Hanson. He's just amazing. Emily Marsh, our producer, doing an amazing job with these bookings. Just breathtaking what we all get to speak to. And thank you to Emily and Susan, my wife, the other producer of the show, and Caleb, for pulling this all together for an emergency today and to Andre and Beatrice, who agreed to come in here
Starting point is 01:06:10 late at night in France. We just thought it was important to kind of pull something together to report since we had these connections. We've interviewed both them before. We feel like they are great sources. I hope you agree with us that they were. So we can help you make sense of what you're saying out there. So we've got a lot coming. Stay with us.
