He joins us with proposals to cut regulation that are forcing hospitals to close, bringing gas to look, that's $5 a gallon. That's ridiculous. Yeah, so President Trump obviously gave that iconic address from the White House last Thursday talking about foreign influence into our elections.

And what was the big headline of it, right, was particularly one foreign adversary, that being China and the Chinese Communist Party. The president released, in conjunction with his speech, on the White House website at whitehouse.gov slash election hyphen integrity, they released declassified intelligence that showed that the Chinese Communist Party that China had sought to influence our election in 2020 and that they had to actually compromise our voter rolls. Which here's the thing, Drew, we kind of knew all of this. It went underreported because corporate media didn't want to report it in 2020 and 2021. But this is

really new claims. In fact, if you look back to January 7th, 2021, then the director of national intelligence, now CIA director, John Rackcliffe, had actually released a report as part of his duties as DNI and was outlined in an executive order that showed that there was Chinese interference in our 2020 election and included in that. He also revealed that the CIA had tried to hide it. So what we saw from the White House this week, the release of the documents, is the underlying intelligence that Rackcliffe had used all the way back in 2021 to produce his report, which I thought was a little bit late for the president because it came on January 7th, right? And he had this intelligence going all the way back to 2020, even if December 2020, even if the CIA didn't want to release it. And there was a lot of, there were two members of the intelligence community that fought back against their call. leagues and said, no, we absolutely have definitive intelligence that shows that they interfered,

knows that they compromised our voter rolls, that they had the intention to damage Donald Trump, and they wrote a dissent, these two. And one became a whistleblower. And it's a lot of what he produced as part of the intelligence community that was released in the underlying intelligence there. But I think you kind of have to ask yourself, as an American, why would our intelligence community, members of our intelligence community, be trying to protect one of our top adversaries in China. Not only did they strike a sentence from the report about China, they rewrote it to say that China didn't even have a preference between Trump and Biden. And obviously, we knew that was false on his face. So this also shows that we have compromised members of our intelligence

community. And it's not just China. This is the big, this is where they're starting. But there's a nexus between China, Venezuela, Serbia, and Iran. And I think we'll, we'll see more of that, hopefully, in the coming days. I'm told that we will. But you have to remember, there are people within our own intelligence and within our own government who were cooperating and probably compromised by these governments that took part in this. Emerald, if you think about it this way, think about it this way, they were willing to do anything to prevent a Trump too, right? And so they may have not been so much even suppressing as much as collaborating with the Chinese, right? And I'm also hearing, yeah, I'm also hearing that Cuba has been really involved in all the DSA stuff and getting, you're smiling when I say that.

Tell me what you know. Yeah. And this is something that hasn't been widely reported either and that I do know that the Trump administration is looking into. You got to remember that there, so a lot of people don't know this, but there was a pivot away from the Western Hemisphere. And that was not by accident. That was by design. And that was enacted by John Brennan during his time of the CIA. He had told station chiefs in the CIA in Latin America that they were going to pivot away from Cuban and Venezuelan intelligence.

Okay. So they were turning a blind eye on purpose for years now in regards to the activity from Cuba and Venezuelan. They turned many of our officials. We actually have names. We have names because of Venezuelan, a former high-ranking Venezuelan official who is now in custody, okay, he is cooperating with our government because he was brought in on money laundering and drug trafficking charges.

He was about to go to trial this summer before they finally got a deal with him, a plea deal. they made him a cooperating witness, you know, for favor in sentencing. His name is Hugo Carvajal. He has given names. He says he witnessed and he himself paid off U.S. officials. So we have that. We have officials who have been compromised by Cuba and Venezuela. And I, you know, I just want to say, Dr. Drew, your characterization of our intelligence community's actions in regards to China is more accurate. That is the way to describe it. they were collaborating with China. Not only are they collaborating with China, they're collaborating with Cuba and Venezuela as a part of this. Now, what I think and what I'm being told.

Hang on your thought. So really quick before you make that conclusion. And then let's slide on over to COVID where China, whatever China said, we followed, right? Those Chinese scientists, they're the best. Look what they did in Wuhan. They got a zero COVID outbreak. We need zero COVID.

What did they do? let's follow their demands. It's crazy how it wasn't even a collaborative relationship with China. It was almost like we were zombies. You know, we were like, we were in their thrall and didn't really know it, it seems to me. And we're pulling away from it and going, oh my God, kind of waking up. Look what we did. But finish your thought about Cuba and Venezuela.

Well, and I will just say to that, that was another example of where the intelligence community covered up for China, right? Yes. They tried their best to cover up the origins of the COVID lab. It was all like a, it's all a, it's all seems very, listen, I was in the scientific world at the time and we were absolutely, I heard these words all the time. You know, the center of gravity of biological research has moved to China. So we got to get, you know, let's work with those guys.

We're always working with them. Never a thought to there being a governmental. sort of, you know, that the People's Liberation Army had their finger on the scale or anything else or were watching us. It's just, oh, there's good science. Here we go. And they were in the epidemic business. They were, they were the core of the epidemic. What was that trial run, the war game they did with the epidemic? That was highly attended by China. Yeah, that was in October of 2019. They did. They gamed out a novel coronavirus that would cause it. for a global pandemic and how they would do lockdowns, right?

They war-gamed it. They knew what they were doing. And then our intelligence community was covering for them like they did in the 2020 election and with what we're seeing now as it relates to election crimes and election fraud. What you have to have to understand is it's not just China. They are obviously, Venezuela and Cuba have been our, have been Iran and China's you know, nexus into the Western Hemisphere. That's where they all kind of meet together and you have Chinese influence that is greatly,

or China is greatly influential in Venezuela. And that brings us to the voting machines if you'd like to look at, you know, how they factor into this. And that's why I am being told you're going to see come next from the administration. Now, sometimes you're told these things and they don't happen. It might just be trying to tell me what I want to hear. But I am told we're going to see more intelligence related to that. but honestly, there's a lot of open source information

that you didn't even have to, you know, release the underlying intelligence, though there's a lot of it. Also from the defamation cases, a couple of defamation cases brought by the voting machine companies. There's very damning evidence of communications between Venezuelans, Serbians, and Chinese,

as it relates to the voting machines in America and our election in 2020, they were having, they were having conversations because the voting machine software that we use, really most of it was born out of Venezuela Smartmatic, right? That was, and the White House released underlying intelligence on that from the CIA. Now, the CIA contradicts itself a lot on what it says about Smartmatic,

going all the way back to 2006 when it was on their radar because Hugo Chavez had ordered this voting machine software to be developed by. the Visa Corps that then became smartmatic, the voting machine arm of that, he did it in order that they could find a way to

manipulate the vote because he had become widely unpopular then. He'd won his first election legitimately, but then he had become a dictator. He was not popular with the people. He was not going to win.

They developed this voting machine software and they were able to insert votes. And you've had many, many cybersecurity and voting machine experts explain how this works. The intelligence that was released from the White House says that they found, that the CIA found that Venezuela had developed a program that could switch votes in an undetectable way, that even it would even evade.

You're talking about the Cracken. She was going to tell us about the Cracken. And for bringing that up, she lost her, who was disbarred. But please, we're running out of time here. do me a favor and finish your thought about Cuba because I'm hearing they're really involved in sort of the reason the DSA has so shown itself

all of a sudden is all coming from Cuba I'm hearing and then we have to talk about flock cameras and then I'll let you go so finish the thought on how Cuba and then you see Rubio up there setting the table for some action like he was laying it all out like okay if that's true then there will be action Well, so what, how Cuba relates to, you know, Cuba has spent, you don't think about, you think about it being a tiny island, right, and a failed communist regime, but they have lots of money,

and they have put that money to good use in destabilizing the United States, running a lot of it through Venezuela that has been used to turn our U.S. officials, some of them in the state departments, some of them in the CIA, some of them CIA assets. They've influenced our vote, but they also flow this money. It's been shown to me in charts and diagrams and financial disclosers, they flow this money into NGOs, whether it's Soros NGOs or like you're seeing with the DSA in order to destabilize and cause chaos in the United States. And that is, you know, allegedly what we're seeing with the DSA. Now, I obviously know this better as it relates to operations to influence the vote or to flood the country with Trend Day or Ragua because they were a part of that as well.

Cuba really kind of trained the Venezuelans in this subverse, in these subversive tactic and employ them to do a lot of their dirty work. So when you're talking about Venezuela, you're talking really about Cuba, Venezuela and their efforts. And yes, you're right. I am told that Marco Rubio is going to address this in a big way. He's the one that's been taking the lead on this. He has said, I'm familiar with many of the briefings that he's received as it relates to this. And I'm told that he's very concerned about it.

Should we worry about flock cameras? I am the idiot that when the Patriot Act was initiated, I was like, oh, it's a big deal. They need to keep us safe. I've got none to hide. Who cares? Oh, man, I didn't understand what our government is capable of. What about flock cameras? Yeah, well, none of us did, right?

And they caught us at a very emotional moment in passing the Patriot Act. And I don't know if you know Bernie Carrick. He's no longer with us, but he was, you know, he was the chief there. New York in 9-11. He was a big supporter of the Patriot Act, and he told me a couple years ago on my show, I asked him, I said, Bernie, do you regret the Patriot Act

and being such a vocal advocate for it? And he said, absolutely. He said, I had no idea what this was going to unleash. Look, we thought with getting Donald Trump 2.0, that we were going to be able to fight it back against the growing surveillance state. And it looks like anything but. And the implementation and the continued use

of these flock cameras are just one example of it. It's a very concerning example. I think there's an account on X has done a great job in the deep dive into the money as it relates to flock cameras. But this is not what we voted for. This is exactly the opposite. This is the World Economic Forum surveillance state that we thought Donald Trump was opposed to. And I think those people who are out there fighting against these flock cameras are absolute American heroes. If we allow this to continue, we're only going to get more of the surveillance state. And I know that many of the people who voted for the president are also concerned that not only are we headed towards the surveillance state, but they were actually going to see the implementation of the digital currency under Donald Trump.

Like, I think by this point, nobody buys it. When you see one of Epstein's associates or someone near them suddenly die in some odd way or by suicide, It's like the one Clinton aide who, you know, died by shooting himself and by suicide by shooting himself in the back of the head. Definitely not buying it. And look, most of America isn't either. What do you think that is? Do you have a theory of what's going on there?

Clean up. Clean up on aisle five. Is it international? International forces? Is it us? Is it Hillary Clinton? I mean, who has, who has some of the eyes? It's hard to say at this point.

you know, what they promised in regards to deportations, but I'm told he was put there specifically because he knows the problems with the elections, because he was the one senator who got briefed on what was going on with their elections and decided that he would do something about it. He made sure that Trump's team found out about it, and he has continued to address the situation. So that makes me hopeful, and there are some of this. investigations, but I also know front row and center. I've had a front row and center seat to this for years now. I know how deeply entrenched the deep state is, and I know how hard they're fighting this. So it is an uphill battle. But more is happening than was, say,

Also, Steve Hilton for governor.com. Steve, welcome back. Great to see you. Fantastic. We're fighting hard to save California. We've got three months to save California. I have two opening questions. One is what I'm gathering you've learned so much being on the campaign trail.

And it just must get overwhelming how bad it is. California. We didn't get here easily. Number one. And number two, help us understand how we can even trust the electoral system in this state to know whether you do or do not get elected. So on the first one, there's actually one word that really answers your question. And it's a very sad thing to say. I've been on the road now since the end of April last year as a candidate, Actually, for three years before that, really learning about the problems, developing solutions, a lot of that went into that book you're showing right now, caliphalia. But especially since I've been a candidate, we've done hundred town halls up and down the state,

nearly every county, hundreds of events, thousands and thousands of people. There's one word that captures what I get from those encounters, the questions people ask, the look in their eyes when they come and take a picture and we have a hug and talk about their situation. that word is struggle. It is such a struggle just to live, to exist. If you're just a regular family, to make things work, to pay the bills. If you're running a small business, just to keep afloat in the face of the endless assaults by government policy, the taxes, the fees, the regulations, the lawsuits, the homeless people outside your restaurant, etc. It's just this incredible sense of struggle and it's so heartbreaking. The answer, though, is to just, it's actually very simple

in many ways. This is all the result of a massive, big, bloated, nanny state bureaucratic government driven by far-left ideology, a corrupt system in Sacramento. And the answer is just to take that all apart and get back to simple common-sense things. The government should do less, take more from our pockets, and let California thrive and flourish. Actually, we're an amazing state. We've got incredible advantages. As you know better than most, we've got the most amazing natural beauty, the best weather, great universities, talented people, innovation culture, the rebel spirit of California that founded California in the first world, all these amazing advantages. It's got to let the government step back and it'll all happen in terms of the votes.

Look, there's really the best answer to that is what we heard in 2024. We've got to make it too big to rig. That really is the best answer. There's so much wrong with the voting. system in California. That's been well documented, but there's not much we can do until we get elected. And so we've got to go all out to get every vote, to do ballot harvesting, even better than the Democrat machine does, and to get that massive turnout that we need, then I think we can pull this off, because the last point I'll make, there is a majority of Californians who want change. The last poll I saw, 66%. Not just change, but they want a total overhaul of the government. Yeah, it feels like it.

But then again, every time the polls open up, it's like, I can't believe it. I mean, they got rid of Newsom and they put him back in. I just didn't bewildering to me. Absolutely bewildering. And I would argue that the words struggle. I think China's behind it. There's no way that guy got back in without China. Or maybe Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela.

Maybe they were, maybe that was the day. These ballots are all screwed up here. I know it. Well, unless you've talked, speak to that. but but sorry I actually forgot what I was talking about um you're picking up on the word struggle say that yeah the word struggle exactly I think that that word struggle has when you were talking about the word you've heard I thought well what's the word I'm feeling and what's the word that I hear people down here and struggle for sure that is start to bleed into absolute desperation and

despair. That is where it goes next because you start to feel helpless and you feel desperate and then you just go into helplessness and despair. And they've put California's in that mode. That's how we are. So a few get their act together and leave, but very few actually believe they can fight because this feels so overwhelming. It's a really great point. And along that pathway, we've got to take the desperation, turn it into anger and energy. before it slips into despair and apathy. That's a really important psychological point. And actually, I totally echo that.

The other thing I hear, just the words that I hear, people don't say struggle. The words that I hear, more often than not, when people come up to me, whether that's in the street or the airport, wherever, in a restaurant, is you have to win. There is this real sense of desperation in people's eyes. They say, it's not, oh, good luck, hope you do well. You have to win in this intense way. And that really gives me a lot of energy. And to your point about not slipping into just apathy and give it in despair, that's why I'm fighting this campaign so hard.

I mean, we launched the general election phase of the campaign yesterday in Los Angeles and Boyle Heights right by that warehouse that was burning for days. And then for weeks, the local working class Latino community living in these appalling conditions of millions of tons of rotting meat and rats and flies in the. stink, you know, totally abandoned by the Democrats. We released our first AI ad today from the guys that were with Spencer Bratt. And you, as President Reagan famously said, you ain't seeing nothing yet. We are going to be fighting insanely hard the next three months. That is wonderful news. Last time you hear you mentioned the lack of rodenticide.

They've outlawed rodenticide. So we have had a rat bloom, a rat explosion. And with that, guess what? Myron typhus, plague, it all comes with the rats. And it's going to get worse if they don't do something about that. You shared a story with me last time that a woman in one of those trailers, that most of they've kind of taken care of those a little bit. Her biggest complaint was the rats are just overrunning the place.

And nothing she can do about it. It's a homeless person. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. And it's directly the result of government policy. This is what they are doing to us. They're sort of driving us.

driving us back to this kind of squalor. And you hear Newsom and my opponent, Javier Bersera, you know, just gaslighting everyone. So, oh, everything's fine. We're the fourth biggest economy in the world. You've got medieval diseases returning and rats everywhere as a direct result. Remember that there's a bureaucracy, the border pesticide regulation that has made this change, which is why we're in this situation. Now, the good news is the governor appoints the people in that agency, as in 200 other agencies,

So actually, if we can pull this off and win this election in November, we can really make some big changes. A lot of people say, well, what can you do? The legislature is all heavily Democrat. That's all true. But actually, the executive branch in California is very powerful. And as the governor, you run that, and we really can start to bring gas prices down, electric bills down, housing costs down, get taxes down and put money back in people's pockets, and really

lighten the load on businesses, especially small businesses. There's a lot we can do to bring some common sense back, but we got to win this election. You mentioned the you got to win. We mentioned the rats and the homelessness and all this stuff that's just been going on for decades now. Shock everybody. Although homelessness went down a little bit last year, went up again this year because we're not doing anything to treat these people. We're just doing nothing. You can't, you have to say, hey, come on, let's go.

Here we go. We're going to put you over here. You're going to get some treatment. It's good. No problem. If you're so ill, if your brain disease is so bad that you lie down on the street and you stay there, it does not get any more gravely disabled than that. And you should know, Steve, that they have eviscerated the clinical term gravely disabled. We used to be able to treat people when they're gravely disabled.

Now you really can't. And so you have to be actively homicidal or actively suicidal. And if you say, I was just kidding, then you have to let them go. Gravely disabled was a very important state. Yeah, this is 2019 when Emily Campano and I went out on the street. And I was telling them, you're going to see more rat-borne illness. I knew the rodenticide thing hit right then. And lo and behold, we have.

And low of the meth things got worse. And the fentanyl things get worse. Let's face what it is. It's a negligent manslaughter. But because the politicians have qualified immunity, they don't care. It serves their end, serves their purpose. So they just stick with it. But gosh, there was something else.

Oh, how about Cal, it seems like San Francisco has partially awakened or something. Like there's some partial acknowledgement of reality there. In the setting of that, is there growing support for you there? Yeah, a little bit. I mean, I think San Francisco is not my strongest area. We actually did a town hall there, though, last about a couple of weeks ago. And really good turnout. And a lot of Democrat, a lot of people coming up and saying,

I voted for the Matt Mayhan, the mayor of San Jose, now I'm with you. I voted for Katie Porter. The next day we did an event in Oakland. Absolutely no one's idea of a Republican stronghold. Really good turnout there. And, you know, I asked for a show of hand, a bunch of Democrat hands went up. So something's happening. And I think what we've got to do in this, there's two things we have to do.

First of all, we've got to maximize Republican turnout. And that's an important point. A lot of Republican candidates have forgotten in California that actually there are a lot of Republicans here. I want to give you the numbers. We are estimate of the total number of votes that I will need to win. If you take into account previous midterms in California and the turnout we saw in the primary just now is six million votes. That's our target number of votes to win. In 2024 in California, President Trump got 6.1 million. So there are enough votes there. We've got to get them to show up. A big part of that, this November, a big advantage we have is that voter ID is on the ballot in California. We all know about the SAVE Act and what's going on there, i.e. nothing. But at least here in California, we got the chance to vote for voter ID. That will help drive Republican turnout. The maximizing that is a really big part of winning. The second part is actually speaking to that majority of Californians who want change. Many of them may not like Trump. They don't like any of that, but they know we need change in California.

And that's really what I'm, that's why my campaign is so focused on positive, practical things that everyone can get behind. $3 gas, cut electric bills in half, your first 150 grand tax free, starter homes for young families. And just saying very simply, enough is enough. Let's fix California.

You're going to have to take the teeth out of the Coastal Commission. You're going to have to, I don't know how you deregulate these counties and cities and stuff. It's crazy. You have to put... Our gas is $7 a gallon here. I know, but we have to put the premium in some of those cars. Two dollars per public. So the average gas is still five bucks a gallon down here.

You know, that's what it is. It is. But it's so bad. Is the Golden Ticket still a thing? Yeah. Michael Gates is a strong. I speak to him often, running for attorney general. Really strong candidate.

And a very important point, actually, because, for example, when I launched my general election campaign yesterday in LA, I was there with the Gloria Romero, my running mate for lieutenant governor, Hilton Romero. We are really making that an argument because, of course, she symbolizes what one of the things we need to do. She was previously a Democrat, the leader of the Democrats actually in the state Senate, and got sick of the insanity and became a Republican. Now she's running with me. She actually represented East L.A. in the Senate. So L.A. County, remember, is nearly a quarter of the vote in all of the... California. It's a huge county. That's why we're going to be spending a lot of time here

in this part of the race, and Gloria represented it. So that's a really important part of the argument. Michael Gates, so much that I will be able to get done. Exactly in terms of things like the Coastal Commission, reigning in these totally outrageous, bloated bureaucratic agencies will be so strengthened if I have an attorney general who's an ally and will fight with me and uphold my rulings and executive orders in court. It's a really important part of the process. And then the other person, Herb Morgan, running for state controller, we've just seen the stories about fraud.

We've got Bobby Kennedy, quite rightly, exposing the fraud in California, part of it at least. There's way more than even the billion dollars he just talked about. A state controller has the power to audit every organization receiving state money in California and to stop the payments if there's a suspicion of improper activity. So in terms of turning the state around, this team is going to be very important. So we've got to elect all of us, not just me.

Yeah, I agree. Michael Gates is running on the platform, Make Crime Illegal Again. I think it's a brilliant platform. And I've spoken to Herb, and he emphasized how important that controller job is in terms of exactly what you're talking about. Steve, we've got to take a little break here. governor Newsom and he was bringing up you know we've got a homeless thing obviously and he brought all these things up and he obfuscated everything but the one thing no one ever talks about and it came up with Bacera that's why I was thinking about playing this for you is how Bacera is saying don't go to Mexican restaurants by the street vendors food and you got understand. When I first saw the street defenders, I was sympathetic too. But then it's like the restaurants have employees. They pay taxes.

They pay property taxes. They pay the employee development program. I mean, my God, you're going to undermine businesses and the people out on the street are selling illegally and pay nothing into the government and have no regulation whatsoever.

And you wouldn't go to a sushi bar that had a C or D rating. I know that for sure. But, we have no idea what the health rating is on these platforms out on the sidewalk, which is bacon and a hot dog typically. And homemade tamales, good for them. I'm happy for that. But I think it's a Trader Joe's.

So Adam did this famous interview with Newsom where Newsom was saying the big problem with Los Angeles is check cashing, you know, services. And he was like, why? Because, oh, well, you know, Hispanics have, why is it?

What's wrong with them? Why do they do that? Why do we have? He just asked lots of questions and nobody asked Newsom and he becomes absolutely flabbergasted when people ask him questions. And he opened in this particular interview talking about, Adam was noticing the street vendors out in front of Forest Lawn where there was also Highway Patrol stopping, you know, middle-aged women with their children and they would stay in the minivan for rolling through a stop sign. They stopped them, but they let the fly. It was actually flower sales, he's going to talk about. And of course, Hollywood Flowers is at the end of the street and how.

Hollywood Flowers is a business, brick and mortar business for 100 years, been there. It's being eviscerated by all this because they can undercut them and they don't have any employees and they don't have any anything. But this is just the same argument as Bacera was making. That's why I wanted to play this for you. But we thought it becomes part of the reason people don't like hearing that conversation is because it's Adam Carolla in his aggressive way talking to Newsome. So he said to me one day, he goes, you know, if I were an NPR chick, He said, I don't use that, he uses that word. If I were an NPR reporter asking Newsom these questions, people wouldn't be so upset about,

they would hear it more clearly. And gosh darned, if I turned Newsom into somebody, salesmany like, let's say Burt Reynolds. Let's say Newsom is Burt Reynolds and I'm an NPR radio reporter. Here's what that looks like. Every time I drive home, I drive home down Forest Lawn Boulevard or Forest Lawn Drive. There's illegals selling flowers. There's a big mess, big pile. There's this whole underground culture everyone's selling.

There's a pile of garbage, by the way. Those are all the flower boxes they use. Yeah, that's not good. And I can show you a picture of the guys selling the flowers illegally, by the way. It's not going in the coffers of the state. They just sell it illegally. And then I can show you a picture of a highway patrolman, a California highway patrolman,

giving out a chicken shit ticket for rolling through a right, rolling there. Oh, there he is. Now, just beyond him is all the illegals doing their illegal business. But what are we focusing on, Gavin? Your focus is on the guy who didn't come to a complete stop. I have a CHP officer with me. You should bring him in. We could talk about this.

Bring him in. I mean, look, that poor guy on the corner is selling something that people apparently want those flowers. You know who doesn't want it. The guy who owns the flower store a mile away who's being undercut. You sell wine over here, but we got a Mexican who makes his own wine. He's going to stand down the street from your wine store? I mean, I'm sympathetic. Well, there's competition.

So, you know, it's making those flower stores more aggressive. We're complaining about competition. I admire the small business person. The entrepreneur who gets up tries to sell a thing or two and wants to make a difference. Feed their family working hard. At least those guys are out there working hard. They're not entrepreneurs. They don't have business licenses.

They're not paying taxes. They don't have employees. He's hiding behind a bullshit description. And I was sympathetic to it before I thought about it. And so it plays well. But, you know, when you really think about it, it's what Pesera is suggesting. Stop going to Taco Bell. Screw those guys.

Or any home. How about the homespun family business in East LA that makes their own tortillas? No, get the guy on the street. Exactly. And fun enough, this really goes to my heart. Before moving here in 2012 with my wife, my two sons, I worked in the government a little bit, as you mentioned. but I also, most of my career has been in business, the majority, including running a couple of restaurants. I started a couple of restaurants in London. It's a really tough business. And it's tough at the best of times.

In California today, it's the worst because of all the insanity, the rules, the regulations, the lawsuits, the inspections, the permits, all this nonsense, the energy cost. And for him to turn around and say, with all of those burdens that the government is placing on our restaurants to say, We're going to add another one, which is encourage people to go to the illegal competition. It's so offensive. Last thing I'll say about it, actually, with the first week of my campaign last year, we did a round table in East L.A. in a Mexican coffee shop, just talking to the community there. There was a story someone told me, which is their friends. They saved up to open a restaurant, Mexican restaurant.

It was their dream to have this restaurant. And then right in front of them opened up an illegal food stand, a big one, a real operational. and within six months they went out of business because they couldn't compete. Heartbreaking. But Sarah's on the side of that. It's absolutely outrageous. I'm looking at some of the comments here in the restream and over the Rumble Rants. You guys, that was Adam Carolla's voice turned by AI into an NPR reporter.

And that was Gavin Newsom's voice turned into Bert Reynolds. And that's the absurdity that you just listened to. That was a real interview with two real human beings. What's that? You want to hear the real one? Orslawn Drive. There's illegal selling flowers. There's a big...

That's the real voice. People get turned off by Adam, so he turned himself into an NPR reporter. So those are the exact words. So let's talk about hospital for a second. This has been a deep concern of mine forever. The excessive, crazy. And it goes all over the place, the regulation of hospitals and OSHA and the kinds of things that the medical system is put upon,

and then the fraud on top of that. I mean, it's beyond crazy, but what are you going to do for that? So I spent a lot of time, and I was just at a big hospital in the Central Valley in Fresno, just on Monday, really learning about it. I did a tour of the facility there. Exactly as you say, the burdens, I mean, one thing that's coming up a lot with hospitals,

these seismic regulations, the hundreds of millions of dollars that they're going to have to spend, Some of it completely pointless. This is a seismic risk. I don't want to say no, but like it's not the same everywhere in the state, seismic risk. And yet every hospital in the state is having to pay all this nonsense. The labor costs, where you've got the minimum wage that's been negotiated by the unions,

the other deals that the unions negotiate in terms of staffing levels and on all of that that make it impossible to run things efficiently. The costs are just astronomical. And then what does the government do? They come in with their office of health care affordability or something and try and put price caps on everything. And instead of actually dealing with the underlying issue, which is a lot of it driven by the unions who own the Democrat politicians who are making these regulations. So there's something, there's an opportunity for you in the fires and the hospital regulation. I know that I'm putting two unusual things together there.

But I have come to learn that part of the reason no one can rebuild in the Palisades is the seismic requirements are, you know, these things were built on telephone poles. They were there for 100 years. No one had any problem with it. These houses were great. It was fire that they mismanaged. It took out the houses, not earthquakes and not water, not waves. It was earthquakes. I mean, sorry, it was fire.

And now they're in the rebuild. you have to rebuild something that's not twice as safe or not five times as safe from a seismic standpoint, but a thousand times a safe. Like impossible to be in that, why can't we have a more rational approach to this, at least while we rebuild? And same thing with hospitals.

While we have such burdens of health care costs, why can't it be 10 times what we used to build or even a hundred times? It has to be a thousand times the strength of what we put together where there's impossible if there would ever be any sort of seismic issues at all. I mean, it kind of, it's, I would love to live in a world we could afford that. We don't.

Yeah. And just the estimated total cost of all this across California to all the hospitals we have is $100 billion. It's just a huge amount of this. We don't have it. Every hospital I go to, this is the first thing they bring up. And it's just crazy. But this is what happens when you have 16 years of one party rule, this machine.

Gene builds up. You've got this bureaucracy in Sacramento totally out of control. They never get challenged. No one pushes back. And it just turns into this nightmare. But that's what the job is to take that apart. And I'm looking forward to it. Yeah. Find out, I think I think from a standpoint of a headline, you know, what is the safety requirement they're reaching for? And how many times more is it than what we've lived with for 100 years? I was in a hospital. I was practically living in a hospital for many years. And I was there during the 1992 earthquake or 93, whatever it was. No, no, I was with, there was another one. Is it before that? It was not the, not the 91. It was it was another big one we had right around the same time.

And, you know, hospital is 75 years old, 100 years old. No problem. Went right through it. Everything was fine. We had no, not even any power issues. We had no problem. And, yeah, no, that's not good enough. We have to go, again, we have to be prepared.

for the theoretical 10.0 quake that Richter's scale was, the Richter's scale was developed in my neighborhood here. Just a few blocks, a few hundred yards away was where Richter had his cement blocks that went down to the bedrock and all the scale. Yeah, yeah, and Caltech owned all those buildings and stuff. And he never, it was the very, very large earthquakes were only theoretical possibilities. They weren't expected to occur. and they certainly aren't expect to occur

if they're in non-geological timeframes. Like let's at least defer it till we can afford it. Exactly, but they're not reasonable. They have no common sense and they're detached from reality. Most of these people have never worked in the real world. Their entire life is in the bureaucracy and they just don't even think about the real world implications of the crap that they're churning out.

It's dumb. It's just dumb. not common sense. It's dumb. And I don't know. And it's, it's gripped us. I don't know. Yeah. It feels like that I'm trying to channel my wife here for a second. It's so bizarre. It's so dumb. It feels like foreign influence. And, and I don't know if that's true or not, but it's just, I mean, it could be. I mean, in this, in this part of the world, we have a take of California back to Mexico movement that's here. It exists. Maybe they're having more traction than I realize. So, I mean, it's certainly not American.

It's foreign in that sense. It's the absolute opposite of the American spirit, which I always think. One of the things I say is that at its best, California means to America, what America means to the world. And that kind of rebel spirit and do things differently and don't follow the rules, that's California at its best. That's what's being crushed the soul and spirit of our state by this ridiculous bloated now in the state bureaucracy.

And that's what we've got to turn around. very, it's very, this is a now or never election, I think. There's so many people that said to me, if you don't pull this off in November, we're out. Big businesses, small businesses, just people. On Drew's behalf, I just sent you a donation. Oh, good. Thank you. Oh, well, thank you so much. I really appreciate. And that's what this fight is all about. have uh have spencer pratt uh say some of the stuff he says uh as a caption and pushed out through his his uh his stuff his stuff gets traction so uh the the video itself may not get as much as if he were to say hey here's the machine all right well caleb you wanted to talk about flock cameras i kind of tire of that topic and and i think emerald did a pretty good job with it there's something you wanted to ask no i'm just i'm curious about steve's position on the flock cameras because there are pros and cons.

Like they've, they say that they've caught, they've helped solve over a million crimes. They've found 10,000 missing people. If you feel strongly one way or another proceed, but I have no strong feelings. I just want to bring it up as a topic. Go ahead.

My disposition, my instinct is to be very skeptical of those claims and to be, and I just generally hate surveillance and all of that. Yes. And I'm very suspicious. So I need to look into it more. I hear that from law enforcement. But, you know, we used to do pretty well without them.

Yeah. And to be fair, Caleb, I think Steve should take direction from law enforcement, too. And if they're saying this is an important tool, I mean, I don't know. But I'm with you, Steve. People's fears are more so about, well, whose hands are holding the controls of this. Like, it might. Yeah, where's the day to go? Of course.

When Steve's governor, that might be great because we have someone we can trust that's on top of all of this. But then if this was happening during the pandemic and they, were sending out drones for mask mandates to ensure you were complying. We don't want this in those people's hands. And the hands change every four to eight years. Yeah, and selling the data, that's another part of this. Like what happens to everything they're tracking? That's a really important part.
