Ask Dr. Drew - Will Don Lemon Be Arrested? After MN Church Invasion, DOJ Considers Charges Under FACE & KKK Act w/ Viva Frei, Tish Hyman, Michael Gates & Kira Davis – Ask Dr. Drew – Ep 579
Episode Date: January 23, 2026“This is an operation that is a secret,” whispers former journalist Don Lemon, in a video from moments before anti-ICE protestors stormed Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. His statements, indi...cating foreknowledge of the conspiracy to interfere with the churchgoers’ civil rights – a federal crime – have led to calls for Lemon’s arrest, including from President Trump. In Don Lemon’s video, a protestor confirms their actions are “a clandestine operation.” In an interview, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon told Benny Johnson that “Don Lemon himself has come out and said he knew exactly what was going to happen inside that facility” and journalism is not a “shield” from being part of a “criminal conspiracy.” Dhillon says it’s possible that Don Lemon could be charged under the Enforcement Act of 1871 – known as the KKK act, to protect civil rights against organized conspiracies – or the FACE Act, which protects both reproductive health centers and churches. Well, hello everybody. Welcome to Ask Dr. Drew. I don't know if you can tell right now, but this is not Dr. Drew, but I'm the next best thing. I'm Kira Davis filling in for my good friend, Dr. Drew. Coming to you from Southern California, Orange County, the red jewel of California. You can find me on X at Kira Davis or Instagram at Just Kira Davis, J-U-S-D-Divis. Go find my website, justkir-daivis.com. We got a huge show today. Can't wait. We've got Viva Frye, attorney and political commentator. Oh my gosh, you guys, we have Tish Hyman.
Listen to Tish on X. You know her from the viral videos from the gym in L.A. where she very bravely, and it's insane that we have to say that it's brave, but she very bravely called out a man in the women's locker room. She exploded since then, and now she's running for Los Angeles mayor. And speaking of elections here in California, we also have attorney Michael Gates. He is the former city attorney for Huntington Beach. He has just come back from
the DOJ Civil Rights Division out there working with Harmeet Dillon,
and he's now running for AG of Attorney General of California.
And he's running on Steve Hilton's ticket here in California as well.
He's calling it a golden ticket.
It's a coalition of sorts.
So we're going to ask him all about that.
And yeah, make no mistake.
Don Lemon's name will absolutely be coming out my mouth today
because that boy has lost his egg online.
And in fact, a large portion of this country has lost their dag on mine, but I'm happy to tell you that the people on this show today are the ones who are going to bring us back to sanity.
So you're not going to want to miss this show.
And I know it's kind of disappointed to tune in and not see Dr. Drew, but I promise we're going to have a great time.
And you're going to be begging for more Kira Davis after we're finished with this show, I promise.
And Dr. Drew will be back soon.
Stay tuned.
Here we go.
Our laws as it pertain to substances are draconian and bizarre.
The psychopaths start this.
He was an alcoholic because of social media and pornography, PTSD, love addiction.
Fentanyl and heroin.
Ridiculous.
I'm a doctor for, I say, where the hell you think I learned that?
I'm just saying, you go to treatment before you kill people.
I am a clinician.
I observe things about these chemicals.
Let's just deal with what's real.
We used to get these calls on Loveland all the time.
Educate adolescents and to prevent and to treat.
You have trouble.
You can't stop and you want to help stop it.
I can help.
I got a lot to say.
I got a lot more to say.

Welcome back to Ask Dr. Drew Live. I'm Kira Davis. Billing for Dr. Drew today, don't worry, he'll be
back. He's fine. He's safe. I didn't do anything to him. He is perfectly fine. But we're going to
have a good time. If you want to find out more about me, best place to go is to X. Go to
Kira Davis on X. But by my book, Drawing Lines, Why Conservatives Must Bein to Battle Fiercely,
in the arena of Ideas. And I think as the show goes on today, you're going to see why I wrote
that book. And all of the people that we have lined up for the show are people who have also
decided to get in that arena of ideas and battle. If you've been following me on any of my other
platforms, I was on with Dr. Drew last week. I also have joined his show once before. And we used to do a lot
of work at KBC, but if you haven't seen me, if you go and look me up, you're going to hear me
banging the drums of war, because this is where I think we are. I think every citizen has got
to get in this battle. I think we have never been in a more precarious time. It's kind of one of the
things I appreciate about Dr. Drew. I've always appreciated him. He always approaches the topics
with reason, with good humor. And then the only thing I was disappointed about today, guys, was that
I wasn't going to be doing any love line kind of stuff because that's my favorite Dr. Drew.
And I'm really good at giving romantic advice.
So if you need any of that, give me a call.
Tap in.
All right.
Well, speaking of tapping in, let's get to our first guest.
Really excited to talk to Beaver Fry.
He is an attorney and a political commentator.
Also, I have found out a fellow Canadian.
I am also a refugee from Canada.
Viva, welcome to the show.
I'm sorry, let me tell you where people can find you.
You're at the Beba Fry on X.
Welcome to the show.
Thank you very much.
You're from the place where this story that I wrote was initiated where we bought a lobster because Prince of Rhode Island is known for its good lobster.
And then we tried to release it back to the wild, but people don't realize by the, they don't release live.
So something ate it.
No.
Nosed it.
Yeah.
I think you did the right thing.
Well, what an honor to be here.
My dad's American.
And so I emigrated A18, but I was born and raised in Canada.
And I'm glad we have this in common because I want to talk to you.
my friend before, we're going to get into Don Lemon.
We're going to get into Don Lemon in just a second.
But I did notice that Mark Carney, the Prime Minister of Canada,
was over in China last week.
And he gave a pretty friendly speech about it and said that they're showing up trade relations with China.
And I think this is really important because Canada's, obviously, it's right on our border.
There are a hat, you know, and Canada's existence, I think, can be owed to the United States.
States. So I think this is a pretty bold move. Way in on that. Viva, what do you think about that?
I've said it for a while now. You know, Canada has become a national security threat to the
United States of America. Yes. Yes. From the fentanyl to, you know, there's like eight times as
many people on terror watch lists crossing into America from the border with Canada compared to the
border with Mexico. So the overwhelming amount of illegal crossings occurs at Mexico. And yet there's six to
eight times as many people on terror watch lists crossing into America from Canada than from Mexico.
So Canada has made itself a national security threat to America.
It's already been heavily invaded by Chinese interests.
We literally have effectively Chinese spies or spies for China in our Canadian government.
They won't tell us which members of parliament are whitting or unwitting agents of China.
And now you got Mark J. Carney.
I hope I'll be a little crass.
I call him a three passport carrying globalist whore because that's what he is.
is. This man spent a decade in the UK as the whatever they call it, the chair of the Bank of
England, and then comes back to run for prime minister, although he was working behind the scenes
with Justin Trudeau as his financial advisor during the COVID crap. The guy is a globalist of the
highest order now proudly cozying up with China because he wants to, you know, shore up whatever
trade relations he thinks are going to be beneficial to Canada and admitting that he is creating
something of a new world order where Canada and China ally in the, you know, in the United States,
defiance of these United States of America. It's the dumbest thing on earth to do. And, you know,
maybe after Greenland, Trump is going to look at China and say you now pose a greater threat to our
sovereignty. And we must look into that. Because he's, he's announcing it proudly, you know,
sleeping with the enemy. I don't. I don't think we should be unsurious about what Trump says about
Canada when he says, and maybe we add them. Maybe we, you know, maybe we invite them to join the United
States. Trump doesn't take, Trump doesn't say things just to say things, but Viva, I was up in
Canada two years ago. Now, full disclosure, I told the Dr. Drew audience this last week when I was on,
but my Canadian mother has gone no contact with our family over trauma, conservative and a
Republican, and it was just a bridge too far. She called us in June to say, she didn't even call,
actually, she just sent a, it's ridiculous, but she just sent a message, a Facebook message. And she
went no contact with our family. I haven't seen her since then. But the last time I was up there, Viva,
on Prince Edward Island, people need to know this is a small island in northeastern Canada, 125,000 people.
When I was growing up, I was the only black child on the island. It's part of why I don't live in
Canada anymore. Canada, I find you be a very racist country. And I never saw another brown face
or any other face there. When I went, Viva, it was dominated by the Chinese. I was.
dominated. They owned the mall. They owned all the stores. And there was a lot of
Africans there as well. All Muslims, by the way, except the Chinese. But the Chinese have
pushed out pretty much all of the small business owners. The government of Canada is giving
business owner, Chinese business owners visas if they come over and just deposit themselves.
So it's a mess up there.
It's a mess. I mean, just so everything, not just picking on China. The Indian infiltration as well, and I'm not even trying to be glib. You go to Halifax in the other maritime provinces. India and China have taken over Canada, period. And Canada's involvement with Chinese spies in COVID, you have to look into this. We're, you know, these two prominent Winnipeg Chinese spies disappear into China after COVID and had some involvement allegedly. Canadian government training Chinese.
soldiers for wartime combat on Canadian soil. This is like 2018. It's been going on for a long time.
It's come to a head now. But it's amazing to just hear Mark Carney say the quiet part out loud.
We're proudly, you know, restrategizing, creating the New World Order with China. And it was so
amazing. You saw the same clip where the journalists were like, you know, we've never had to get
burner phones before going to an event. We had to do it here because China spies. And Melanie
Jealie, who's now the minister of foreign affairs or something ridiculous, way out of her league,
she's like, yes, we are doing this eyes wide open, we see what is going on. And we're
factoring the Chinese spying element into our negotiations.
Oh, I'm sure they are.
I mean, it's already baked into the cake. The only problem is right now they really are
proudly making themselves an active threat to America. But, you know, the 51st state,
it's not like Trump or conservative America would necessarily even want.
want the majority of Canadians, politically speaking.
Alberta, for sure, resources and spirit.
The Maritimes, man, we were talking offline before going live.
They were more into the COVID tyranny than Michigan and New York.
So you don't really even want the blue liberal Democrat voters of Canada who would make America
what Kamala Harris would like.
But there are a bunch of freedom-loving Canadians that would love the opportunity to come
to America and become, you know, proud, patriotic Americans.
I find it absolutely absurd, Viva, that you would, that Mark Cardi would say, well, we're going to partner with China.
We're literally your neighbor.
We are literally on the other side of the border.
And also, we're the only reason you're not China yet.
We're the only reason.
So, but you know this very well.
I know this being raised a Canadian that when you're Canadian, you are raised.
Your entire identity is not American.
That's your entire identity.
We're not American.
And so everything is wrapped.
I don't think the Canadians have even the national identity to push back against this stuff.
I could have told you what a Canadian was when I was 10 years old.
I was very proud to be a Canadian.
I don't think there are many people who can tell you what a Canadian is now.
No, well, it's an interesting thing.
Even going back in my lifetime, part of the Canadian national identity has been to not be American.
We're polite, we're educated, we can find countries on a map.
America's brash, boorish, you know, no, not.
It's largely undeserved, incidentally.
I mean, the people quite similar in a great many respects,
except Americans love freedom and Canadians love the security of a tightly held prison by the government.
But, no, you're right.
But they rallied around their national identity during the last election when Trump insulted them with the 51st state nonsense.
The reality is it's not just that America is their border and basically ensures that they remain free.
the majority of the trade is with America.
So good luck.
First of all, China is already stealing all of your IP and all of your intellectual property.
So you're not going to sell something to someone who's already stolen it.
But the majority of the trade is with America.
And instead of just acknowledging the position of weakness from which they're negotiating
and showing a little humility when dealing with Trump, even if they don't like it, that's what you do.
No, they're going to go literally now and sleep with a country that violates human rights
is responsible for a quarter of the global emissions in their quest to become energy clean country
and empower an enemy that is a threat, a real threat to the West.
So we'll see how it works out.
But unfortunately, what's his face?
Pierre Pauliev didn't do himself any favors during the last election.
And now we are living with liberal government.
That's too bad.
I do think you guys are going to end up.
Well, not you guys.
You're not there.
But the Canadians are going to end up.
maybe they'll get a sort of a Trump situation.
We were devastated when he didn't win in 2020,
but it turned out to be best for everybody.
Yeah, Pierre did crap the bed at the end there.
But, you know, if you don't have enough good judgment to know where,
you know, your bread is buttered, you know,
then maybe he just wasn't the bad.
Maybe Canadians need to get to where we were in 2020,
or 2024, where we've just been so put upon.
Well, let's talk.
Let's switch gears here just slightly.
Because we're talking about Canada.
We're talking about China.
Now I want to talk about Don Lemon, but honest God, they're all the same thing.
You know what I mean?
So I think that Don Lemon is really an agent of the Chinese state, if you ask me.
He's definitely not an agent of liberty.
So this week, yesterday, or the night before, we saw Don Lemon barge into a church in Minneapolis with a group of protesters screaming at people,
what I call harassing a pastor.
I called it harassing the pastor.
he was extremely rude.
I have some other rude things to say about Don Lemon,
but I'm going to hold my fire and ask you, Viva,
what you think about the legalities of this
because at the DOJ, of course, Harmie Dillon came out and said,
well, listen, this is not only a face act violation.
Don Lemon himself has multiple violations for what he did,
and he recorded it like a dummy and put it on the internet.
So there could be some criminal charges coming here for,
podcaster Don Lemon.
Look, when Jake Paul did something similar, he was participating, he was documenting a riot
in a shopping center.
I'm like, you can't, if you're going to record yourself committing a crime, maybe don't
put it on the internet, or maybe just like think a little bit more neurotically.
Like maybe I shouldn't say certain things.
You know, I saw that clip now where Don Lemon is basically talking about this being a clandestine
operation or having advanced foreknowledge that it was a clandestine operation to interrupt
the church. Like, there's a, you know, someone says, well, that's illegal. And, you know,
sometimes you say, well, there are too many laws. But it's common knowledge that it's illegal
to interrupt worship services, not just church services, worship services. And claiming that you're a
journalist, while you're literally, not even interviewing, interrogating or harassing the pastor,
you've got to be next level dumb. But Don Lemon is next level dumb. He's next level corrupt. He's next
level stupid. He's next level immoral. And it's going to come back to bite him in the ass.
I mean, I'd say if there's a market for this, it should be close to 95%.
Harmeet Dillon says, you know, you got to wait. It's not like TV. You don't just bust in the next day.
And in a situation like this, yeah, we'll give him a week or two weeks. The evidence is out there,
but it might not happen overnight. But this is going to happen. If I could, if I would
wager on this, he's going to get charged with something. I mean, you get the face act. You got the
the KKK act. You got him.
literally admitting to participating in interruption of church services to prevent worshippers from
worshipping. And the ultimate irony is that Don Lemon is going to get charged under the KKK Act,
which was intended to protect the civil rights of humans, Americans. And this jackass,
in the name of shock journalism, documented himself violating the KKK in the face act.
It couldn't have happened to a scummy or scumbag, Don, enjoy it.

Let's just take a couple seconds here to remind ourselves where Don Lemon came from.
I mean, he was the toast of the town.
He ran CNN.
He thought he was so special.
Mr. Red Carpet, Mr. Hollywood, Mr. Oprah, and he talked so much trash about everybody else who's
doing what Dr. Drew does, you know, using the streaming platforms, using alternative media
to get our voice out there, especially during 2020 and 2024, Don was one of the worst.
And now look at him, look at him, slumming it out there in zero-degree weather, like a regular old
podcaster like the rest of us. You know, you're right, Viva, couldn't really happen to a better
scumbag. I want to point this out, too, though you mentioned this. You said, he said, I am out here.
He was conspiring.
He said, I'm out here with these people.
And then he went in, and his defense was, well, I'm a journalist.
I'm a journalism.
And then I'm a journalism, which is basically what he does.
I'm a journalism.
And then he went afterwards and said, you know, well, this is, this is journalism, folks.
But I did watch the video.
Did you see that video of the ICE officer the other day who stopped to lecture one of those ladies?
And he was like, you are protecting a pedophile?
What did you hear what she said to him?
she said, I'm a journalist.
I'm a journalist.
The second he pulled up, she said, I'm a journalist, I'm a journalist.
And it's what I thought about when Don Lemon was in that church going, I'm a journalist, I'm a journalist.
It's training.
It's training.
He got trained to say in the face of pushback, I'm a journalist.
He wasn't saying it because he's actually a journalist.
No one thinks he is and he doesn't think he is.
I think that's more proof that he's been training to do this.
When it comes to him, when it comes to him, I think he fancies himself a journalist.
And it doesn't appreciate the fine line between journalism and activism.
I mean, I don't consider myself a journalist.
I like to go with analysts.
But every journalist knows you don't make yourself part of the story.
If you're a journalist, you're documenting a story, not inserting yourself into it.
I got a lot of dirty jokes that I'm not going to make about Don Leonard.
Sorry, the childish part of my brain was just triggering there.
But, no, the reality is people are.
He deserves them all, but.
Look, the charges against him, I've been following Don Lemon and the sexual misconduct against him for a long time.
And I happen to believe the story, despite the fact that it ended with a settlement, set all that aside.
There is undoubtedly the people being trained, much like the illegal aliens crossing the border from Mexico being told to claim asylum.
There are organizers to these events.
Don Lemon, I just think he does think he's a journalist and doesn't understand the line between journalism, activism, and criminality.
and he's going to learn it right now.
And the reality is, you know, the people on the street, if he were doing the man on the street journalism,
I think it's the most commendable form of journalism to do now because what he was doing beforehand
wasn't journalism either.
It was propaganda.
And if he were just being honest and actually just documenting and being, you know, cautious about it.
When I was doing the man on the street stuff, when the cops are there, you do ask for permission to some extent
because you are walking a line of potentially participating in criminality that you don't
You don't want to cross that line.
But I think he's an attention whore more than anything else.
And he loves it.
He probably loves the fact that everybody's talking about him thinking it's a sign of
importance.
But I really do think, you know, he objectively crossed the line.
And what they did in that church and what he said about it, like as he's streaming it,
this is what's going to happen.
You know, you're going to see more and more of this.
That is active incitement and active encouragement and giving the political permission slip to
these types of idiots to think they are morally justified in harassing worshippers. And if you see
more and more of this, you'd better see more and more federal authorities arresting these MFers and
giving them harsh sentences because this is a line you don't cross. I put out a tweet. It's sort of
hyperbolic. But at first, they rationalize interfering with services. Then they rationalize
vandalizing churches. Then they rationalize burning churches. And they will get to the point where
they're going to rationalize burning churches with congregants inside.
And so there's got to be something, it's got to be put down quickly.
And, you know, this is where Trump has got to either think of invoking the Insurrection Act
or at least just coming down with a, not a fist of fury, but a fist of justice on these political
beasts that think they can get away with harassing and interfering church services.
It's a line you don't cross.
They cross it.
And now it's time to have lawful punishment.
And Don Lemon will get.
my respect or at least a bit of it if when he pulls a stunt in a mosque. You know what I mean? I think it is very I think this is very dangerous territory and we've been so I was talking to my son about this today, 23. I would say we've been so numb. We've been so desensitized since the summer of love to the way these protesters, these rioters act. We sort of as well some people are like this and that this is we have equated now that we've been, you know,
hearing this drumbeat from the left, free speech, free speech. And a certain segment have now
equated that type of activity with free speech, but you absolutely cannot, you absolutely cannot
invade a church worship service. It is actually one of the most egregious things you can do
in the United States of America, because it is not just a violation of a citizen's constitutional right.
It's a violation of a holy sacred space.
And we take that very seriously in America.
It's so seriously that it's enshrined in our Constitution.
And our enemies know this, and it's why they choose the church to go after us,
and it's why they choose free speech to go after us.
And I just want to say this, and I'm going to let you close us out on this topic, Viva.
But I want to say this.
I want to say that people shoot up churches.
People walk into churches and shoot them.
People walk into schools and shoot them.
Are we to believe we're supposed to normalize now this type of behavior?
There were children in that church.
There were children there who had to be ushered out the back by their frightened mothers.
This is where we're going to go in America?
No, I don't think so.
This is an egregious violation.
And people are dying because of people who walk into buildings like that and shoot everybody up.
So no, I don't think we're going to sit around and pretend like they're just exercising their First Amendment.
rights. Thank you very much, Don Lemon. Beva. Oh, no, my thought was, if it had been a synagogue,
it would be hate crime. I mean, period, objectively, full stop. And somehow, it's okay to wage war on
Christians in Tim Walls, Minnesota, in Jacob Fry's Minnesota. This is the ultimate, or, you know,
the ultimate irony. And I say this exacerbates racial, religious tensions, is that they've
given the political permission slip to openly attack Christians in their place.
of worship while actively adding additional laws, hate crime laws, to when it occurs in,
doesn't happen in mosques, happens in synagogues sometimes, and then it makes front page news.
This somehow, oh, yeah, it's not First Amendment rights when it's breaking the law, and it's not
First Amendment rights when it involves storming churches. So this is time to make an example out
of this, make an example of Don Lemon, and he wanted fame. Well, he's going to get infamy. He'll have
to settle for second best.
Well, Viva, I've had a great time talking to you.
I'm sorry we couldn't do the whole show, but you know, it's Drew's show.
It's not mine, but maybe.
I got my bowling league Tuesday night, so I got to go hopefully bowl 200 tonight.
We'll see how it goes.
All right.
Well, fingers crossed.
Prayers up for you.
Maybe you can find Viva on X at the Viva Fry.
You can find him also on Rumble.
Just look for Viva Fry.
God bless you, sir.
Thank you.
And good luck on your bowling.
Talk to you.
That was a Viva Fry.
You can find him on X at Viva Fry.
So fun to talk to another Canadian.
All right.
Where are we now?
Let's see.
Can we bring in?
Are we doing it?
Are we doing an ablock next?
Yeah, right after the break.
This is a break coming up?
Yes, ma'am.
Talk to me.
Okay.
So I'll send us to break.
All right.
I'm going to send us to break.
Don't go anywhere because, and I'm sorry, but this is live and this is how we do it.
This is you're getting to see behind the curtain.
I'm going to go to break, but don't go in here because coming up after break,
Tish, Hyman, a total whirlwind, a total force of nature, running for mayor of Los Angeles.
I mean, isn't that race shaping up to be something exciting?
You're not going to want to miss this.
Don't go anywhere.
I'm Kira Davis filling in for Dr. Do.
You're watching.
Ask Dr.
Duly.
I've spent most of my career dealing with illnesses that shorten life.
And now we have ways to extend it and extend it.
extend wellness. I've been working with the team over at B Shred to develop a product that has everything
I want in a longevity supplement. NR boost has nicotinamide riboside. You know how metal can rust? Well,
your body behaves in a similar way. It's mediated through something called NAD. NAD falls as we age
so we're less able to fight off that oxidative process. We oxidize much like that metal.
And NAD fights it, but nicotinamide riboside elevates NAD so we can push back on those oxidative
stressors, improving health, improving longevity. The other product is Ceno Sink, has ficotin, one of the key
molecules to fight off zombie cells, and we've added resveratrol to that, which is a well-known
anti-aging antioxidant again. I don't like supplements that have a ton of ingredients. To me, it suggests
that none of it's working. When I prescribe a medication, I prescribe that medicine, because I expect that
to work. That is exactly what I've done with these products. And I want you to go to Dr. Drew.com
slash v shred MD for 10% off. Again, that is Dr. Drew.com
slash v shred MD.
What's going on with your retirement savings?
This should concern all of us.
Inflation is not some abstract notion.
It quietly arose purchasing power over time.
This means that savings you had in 2020 have already lost roughly 22% of its value.
This isn't politics.
This is arithmetic.
But the troubling part is most retirement accounts are correlated really 100% with equity
markets. So when markets drop, your savings drop. Retiring at the wrong time can undo decades of work.
That's why many people look to physical gold and silver for protection. And that's why we suggest
Augusta precious metals. Their entire approach is very different. There's no pressure. They just
give you education and information. Augusta explains how gold or silver IRAs work and how physical
metals could fit into your retirement account without tax consequences. And they've operated for over a decade
with thousands of clients.
They put together a free guide
that walks you through everything.
It's available now at Dr. Drew.com slash gold.
You'll get the same educational materials
that Augusta gave to Susan and myself.
So if inflation worries you,
Augusta is a great place to start.
Go to Dr.dru.com slash gold.
That is DRD-R-D-R-E-W.com slash G-O-L-D.
Or just text the word Drew to the number,
3-5052.
That's 3-0-5-2 to get that free guide now.
That's brilliant.
And thank you, Drew.
Who's Dr. Drew?
Where is he?
Dr. Drew.
Dr. Drew.
Welcome back to Ask Dr. Drew.
I am filling in for my friend, Dr. Drew.
I'm Kira Davis.
You can find me on X at Kira Davis.
Before we get on to our next guest,
I do want to tell you about a product that Dr.
Drew sent me personally.
It's the Paleo Valley,
beef sticks and bone broth.
And I heard that Dr. Drew puts a scoop of chocolate bone broth.
Now, this is the collagen, everybody.
Ladies, I know you know what I'm talking about because I'm 51.
I'm menopausal now.
And everything is collagen, collagen, collagen.
These neck wrinkles, right, everything around the eyes.
You've got to be, you've got to be taking your collagen.
And so I was really interested in when Dr. Drew said, you need to try this.
He gets the chocolate.
I got the salted caramel.
I'll put a scoop of this collagen, just like maybe the over-the-counter stuff you buy,
but this is all-natural vegan products, vegan source.
You put that in your drink, your coffee, stir it in there, drink it up, adds beautiful flavor.
And you definitely feel healthier.
And I could taste it.
Now, sometimes you get a flavor and it's like, man, they're making this stuff.
No, definitely was flavorful.
I actually put it in a smoothie today.
I put it in a banana smoothie.
And I'm also getting my potassium as well as my collagen.
But then the product that my husband was really most excited about was the beefsticks.
So you can also order the beef sticks.
You can get them in.
I think they're in four flavors or five different flavors.
I got the terriaki.
I actually love a good beef stick.
I feel like there's probably a lot of jokes to be made there too.
But I love a good beef stick.
I don't know why.
I think it's because I grew up in the country.
And so skeptical, again, because it's a healthy product.
Add the B-Sack, delicious.
Terriaki was perfect.
Can't wait to order more.
I suggest you go get this as well.
But ladies, you need the collagen.
Like, do not wait.
Go.
Don't walk, run.
Use Dr. Drew's code.
Use Dr. Drew.com slash paleo valley for 15% off your first order.
And 20% off when you subscribe.
That's Dr. Drew.com slash paleo valley for 15%.
off your first order or 20% when you subscribe.
I think when you taste, especially the bone broth,
I think you are going to want to subscribe.
Because ladies, from now on, we're going to have to be maintaining.
This is no longer about, you know, preventing.
We're maintaining now.
You need collagen for that.
Thank you for your sponsorship, Paleo Valley.
Okay, let's move on to our next guest.
I've been super excited for this young lady.
You guys know her from her viral moment at a gym in Los Angeles.
was just minding her own business, trying to work out like a regular Angelino.
You know, we like to work out in this part of the country.
And lo and behold, a man invaded her space.
And instead of going away and just going, well, that's L.A.
Because you do that a lot in this part of the country.
Well, that's L.A. That's Southern California.
She chose to stand right where she was and make a scene.
And now she's going to make a scene on the politics stage.
She has decided to run for mayor of Los Angeles City.
Please welcome to that show.
Tish Hyman.
You can follow her.
Listen to Tish on X.
Tish, so glad to have you here.
I'm so glad you stopped by.
Thank you for coming by.
Hello.
It's wonderful to be here.
I'm honored.
Thank you so much for having you.
No, the honor is mine.
And I want to start with your viral moment.
And then we're going to get into, you know, what it is you want to do for Los Angeles.
But I'm a mom and I have been an activist in this space against the trans issues for quite a while.
In 2013, actually, is when a lot of this stuff started coming in to our politics.
But a lot of people weren't paying attention then.
So we lost all those battles.
And now what we're seeing now is the fruition of that.
And I wrote this book up here.
It's called Drawing Lines.
And it was after a young woman came forward here in California and said,
there's a boy in my bathroom and I don't know what to do.
And the school said, well, we can get you,
the school said we can get you mental health counseling if that's what you want,
but we can't fix the bathroom situation.
We'll just get you mental health counseling.
So I said, it's time for people to stand up is what I said.
This is where I'm going with this.
It's time for people to stand up.
It's time to stop being quiet in the face of absurdities.
So when I saw your viral moment, Tish, that's what I noticed,
that you said, I'm not going to be quiet, even though it's uncomfortable,
and even though you were definitely in the minority in that situation,
and people were definitely being rude to you and telling you that you were wrong,
you the woman were wrong.
You stood up tall and you said, you know what, I'm going to be loud in this moment,
and I'm going to stand tall because I've had enough.
Talk to us about how you were feeling in that moment.
Did you plan this or did you just like I did when I wrote that book,
just decided I've had enough?
Honestly, it was just I was getting escorted out by police.
And so I was just looking at it like I kept seeing all these women as I'm walking out.
They're looking at me.
They're confused.
And they don't know what's going on.
So I wanted to warn the ladies.
I was like, listen, girls, this is what's happening.
Because I knew that I wasn't going to be able to come back and talk to them.
And I've been going to this gym for many years.
So I just wanted to let the men and women know that there are men going into the
the locker rooms because they don't have a sign saying this could be a case or anything of that
sort. So I was just trying to let the women know. I didn't know that that video would go by way.
It wasn't even my video. So, you know, that was just me being a woman who wanted to warn people.
And I was really upset and confused. I was just like, what is this? And I just had to stand.
And I always stand against that. Did you think when, what did you think when you were being let when they said, no,
you have to leave? What were you thinking in that moment? I mean, we just came through this huge
Me Too, especially in California. We just came through this huge Me Too era, believe all women.
What was going through your mind is they were leading you out? This is ridiculous. What kind
of twilight zone on my end? I really have got to get a lawyer because they're more worried about
being sued by a man who thinks he's a woman than an actual woman like me who would never stand for this.
I was thinking, God, why?
I was thinking, how could this be?
I was so confused.
And to be called the B word,
but three different men, while you're naked in a locker room,
it's quite, it's quite infuriating.
So this is another thing that I was like,
I'm a lady.
Like, what did you call me?
And that is the thing that it's almost,
well, I think it's misogyny.
I think it's just a different version of misogyny.
And I think it's typically men who don't like women who are perpetrating all of this.
But I want to move on to your mayoral campaign.
But before the break or before the show aired, we were sort of talking off air and we were talking with some of our other guests.
And one of the things you said, Tish, that really spoke to me was you said, look, we need in California, we need common sense.
It's not about the left or the right to me.
It's not about Republicans and Democrats, but it's about what makes sense for this state.
And don't people want California to be amazing?
Don't we want it to be the kind of place that everyone's jealous of like it used to be?
Now people just make fun of us.
But, you know, and so tell us a little bit about, I think this is a crazy trajectory,
but that's Tinseltow, right?
Tell us a little bit about how you went from Grammy-nominated artists to activists to
now running for mayor of L.A. in a very divided political era.
Well, I'm a solution-oriented woman. So I was just trying to get to the solution.
Step by step, I was like, okay, I was, you know, harassing the locker room. There was no solution with their staff.
I sent an email to the CEOs. There was no solution. I started to gather email addresses of women who utilized the facilities to try to organize something.
but I got kicked out before I could reach that solution.
And then, you know, this thing goes viral.
And I'm like, okay, so I'm getting the grift that not a lot of people agree with this.
I'm like, hold on.
So people actually are on my side of things.
People aren't crazy.
People are actually living in reality.
But somehow we've been programmed that this is not reality.
So this is something bigger than I can imagine.
So now I'll start going down the wormhole of who created these bills, who created that.
And I just start deprogramming myself.
I started with trying to talk to senators.
As you can see, I went to Scott Weiner, who is horrible.
I don't want to tell people to vote for, but Scott, I don't like Scott.
Anyway.
He's a horrible person.
Terrible, terrible.
Just disgusting.
A disgusting man.
I spoke with him because I wanted to understand what kind of people I was dealing with
and what was going on.
Because I'm coming from the music industry where I'm just like in a state of elation all day, every day.
And this is just kind of like, you know, a very dark place.
So I'm like, okay, let me meet these people and see if these people are just, you know, just crazy.
So I meet Scott and I'm like, okay, he doesn't care about women.
And then I meet Eric Swal and I'm like, okay, I can see that he's using his face for charm, but he doesn't care about women.
And then I go speak to Rokana and I'm like, okay, you've done so many other great things, but you don't care about women.
So now I'm like, all right, these politicians are being either corrupted because,
they start out good and they start out
like everybody trying to make a difference
or I guess
and now they're somehow being
pushed another direction. Somebody's paying
for this, you know?
And it led me to realize that
politics is corrupt. So now I'm like
okay, I need to find
I'm a singer and I'm a solution-oriented
woman and I like to do things fast. As you can see
from me going to the locker rooms to the
senators to the mayor run. I'm like
listen. I need solutions. I'm not. I know. That was a
zero to 60 and time, girl, yes.
This is how I operate because this is something that needs to happen right away.
So when I noticed that we had poor leadership in our government without calling anyone out,
I'm just calling out the entire panel, we have poor leadership.
And so I said to myself, oh, the midterm elections are coming up.
All I need to do is find a candidate that I can support and I'll help them and I'll endorse
them and they'll get into the position of mayor.
But when I looked at the candidates, I didn't find anyone A that was focused at all on women's safety.
I found different people that I couldn't really relate to as a human being that lives in L.A.
Some people aren't even from America, which I thought was very interesting.
And it was just interesting, the list.
And there were a couple people who weren't even on there yet.
But at that point, I'm like, okay, there's not a mayoral candidate that I can stand behind.
And then I go look at the governor, the people running for governor.
I'm like, okay, there's a cool group in there, you know, a cool group of strongmen in there.
So I say, let me look at the problems in my city.
And I look at the problems in the city.
That's homelessness.
But we really, we don't have a housing problem.
We have plenty of housing and lots of vacant units.
What we have is a fiscal responsibility problem in Los Angeles and a priority problem.
So money is there.
where it's going, maybe these organizations who are incentivized to maintain these people on the streets.
How many jobs versus how many homeless people who need help or drug addicts who need attention,
mental health services? And it's all being kind of like pacified and maintenance because people are
making money. So we can't call out one bad actor. This isn't just one bad actor. This is a whole entire
system that needs to be broken. And that's why these midterm elections are,
the most important elections that can even happen for us in California because we have people
running who care. I represent people in Los Angeles. I come here with a dream. I made it happen.
I remember when Hollywood was the place to be and it was beautiful. But what happened is our leadership
fell off. Their donors or whoever's up there controlling them, they don't care about us. And whatever
they're spending is not reaching the average Angelino. And we need to stop that. Accountability is the
first thing that we need to do is be accountable and understand that the system is broken.
We need to reform it and that's why I am here. And I can't do that without the support of the people.
Well, Tish, what do you have to say? Because, and I'm not going to ask you to respond to this.
It's still so early. But you know, Spencer Pratt's in the race, former MTV reality star.
Okay, we're California. It's kind of like this. I mean, we're California. We are the home to stars.
So what's your response to people who say, Tish?
You're an artist.
You're a rapper.
You're a musician.
Like you are from the arts side of things.
You're from the entertainment sector.
And how many actors and entertainers over the years have thought,
oh, yeah, I can totally win.
And don't really know what they're doing and just sort of waste people's time.
What's your response to that?
Well, you got to understand who I am, right?
So I'm in the music business.
Have you seen me on a lot of public forums or in the spotlight or doing things that go viral or any of this nonsense?
No, because I'm a business woman.
So the reason why I have the career that I have and the level of comfortability that I have and have lived since I've been here in Los Angeles is because I know how to create opportunities for myself.
So I didn't have to sell my soul in the music industry and go to every single studio session.
I was touring Italy and having a good time because I made business for myself because that's what I am.
I'm an entrepreneur.
Now, music is my divine gift from God.
I have a wonderful voice and I like to share it.
And up until this point, I've done my activism through that.
It all lines up if you go and look back at who I am and who I've been all along.
So the reality of it is, is yes, I can handle this.
job and I can pick a good team and I'm a great team player. And what I bring to the whole entire
state of California and to LA as a mayor is unity. I will be working with my good friend the
governor, whoever that is that gets elected. I'm going to be working with this gentleman right
here. We're going to all work together towards one goal. And that's make California the envy of all
states. And look damn good doing it. Okay. And you know what else?
I was looking at Altadena.
And, you know, they don't have a mayor.
They have a technical mayor.
But you know what?
You got a mayor and Tish.
I'm collaborating with the governor.
And we're going to make sure Alta Dina is good, too.
We're going to go through Venice.
We're going to clean up all of California.
I love Los Angeles and I'll be the mayor of Los Angeles,
but I'm the mayor of California.
I want to be here to represent our people, all of our people.
We like nice things.
We like our facials.
We want to walk around, have our smoothie.
We want to look at our clean stars in Hollywood.
We want Venice Beach to be nice.
We are done with the homeless overpopulate in the streets.
It's not necessary.
We just got to give them care.
And we have to be forceful about this.
We have to be accountable.
We have to make the government's got to govern.
And we've got to govern together.
And that's what I bring.
And honestly, the rallies are going to be the best rallies.
We're going to have the most fun.
And I'm going to be the most fashionable mayor you've ever had in Los Angeles.
And another thing is I'm inviting the young people in.
I want everybody to get excited about this race.
I don't care who you vote for.
I want you to vote for me.
I know I'm the best.
But I want you voting.
I want your thinking.
I want your feeling because we're going to get our energy back.
Our city is coming back.
The state of California is coming back.
Everybody who's moved is going to regret it.
Well, you made me believe it.
I can't vote in Los Angeles.
I'm in Orange County, but man, oh man, you made me believe it.
And I love the sound of California's mayor.
I'll be the mayor for Orange County, too.
I'll look out for Orange County.
All the laws that I'm trying to get past in Los Angeles for women's safety,
I am going to be very, very insistent with all my gentleman in the office that they cover
us ladies all throughout California.
And I'm very persuasive.
I know the guys are going to have a great time working with me.
I know the women are going to have a great time with me.
And I know that California is going to love how I represent.
each and every one of us.
Well, I wish you the best.
I know it's a, it's a tall hill to climb, Tish, but I think everyone's hired.
Listen, guys, America, listen to me, it is a tall hill.
The only thing I'm missing is money.
These people want the money.
That money don't go to me.
I don't want the money.
It goes to the campaign.
In order to take this thing nationally, like how we took my gym video nationally, we need to
make sure that I'm in there. I need a dollar. I need one dollar from every American that sees this
video because what we do in California will set the standards for what they do around the United
States. We are the United States. I represent California. I represent Los Angeles. But I represent
the United States. And if I got to go to Wisconsin to help those people over there, guess what I'm
going to Wisconsin. Whatever we got to do to become united, that's what we need to do. And whoever's
not down with that has got to go. You understand? Vote Tish Hyman for Mayor. Go ahead to my
website hymenfamaird.com and let's get it popping come on with them donations because i need them
i'm not taking money from these big guys up here i don't know how to deal with those folks i don't want
nothing to do with those folks i want to deal with y'all i represent y'all you know what i'm saying
the audience is going nuts everybody is excited make sure you go support tish follow her on acts
follow her on all of the platforms and yeah um i like that you know don't make her have to go get that big
because that does come with strings
and that's when everybody gets swampy.
We're not doing that.
I don't leave in America.
It don't matter if you want to red or blue side.
I'm independent.
I'm not in no party.
So everybody's invited to my party.
Come party with Tish.
But America, I need you behind me because I'm behind you.
I love this country like my baby, okay?
And I ain't got no kids.
So this is my baby.
This is the most important thing I've ever done in my life.
And I feel that in my heart.
The California's mayor.
I like it. Before I let you go, one more time, tell everybody where they can find you and where they can donate.
Come on now down to hyman4.com. Hyman, H-Y-M-A-N, the number four, mayor.com. Listen, lift me up.
Lift me up. Won't you beat my wings? I need you lift me up. I want you lifting me up. I need you lift me up. I need you lift me up. Yeah.
Tish Hyman, everybody. I think we'll close it out there. Thank you, Tish. God bless you.
there. I'm sure Dr. Drew will be having you back and I'll look forward to seeing you on the other side.
I'll see you in LA, girl. I'll be there. I'll be out of party. All right. Sounds good.
Thank you to Tish. That was Tish. Wow. Wow. Wow. She is dynamic. Listen, I'm not in L.A.
I can't vote in Los Angeles. Super excited when Spencer Pratt announced for mayor. He's been a real
advocate for the fire victims and he's been, well, he's been treated horribly. And,
he's been a man i did not have spencer pratt running for mayor of los angeles on my 2026 bingo card
but frankly nothing that's happened in the last two years has been on any of my bingo cards tish
included and the more the merrier i say at this point i love what she said that we just
i'm solutions oriented i don't know california i'm telling you what in our next segment we're
going to have um michael gates and he's running for california attorney general
And I got to tell you, I've been here almost 20 years now.
I have never, it feels buzzy.
There's a buzz in the air.
It's different.
I felt it during the Newsom recall, but we just couldn't quite beat the cheating.
But a lot has happened since then.
There's a lot of people working on the federal end.
If we get federal voter ID, that's going to change everything here in California.
The fires change a lot of hearts and minds.
and then everything like Tish's viral video, the taxes,
I know the rest of y'all out there in regular America
or are enjoying your low gas prices.
I mean, we're still paying up around $5 here in California.
So we're noticing that the rest of the country is getting really great
and we're not.
And I think the average Californian voter,
legitimate Californian voter,
is starting to,
is starting to feel that.
All right. Well, let's take
another break. And when we
come back, we're going to come back with
a candidate for California Attorney General
Michael Gates.
And I think we're going to talk to him more
about some of the stuff that Tish was
talking about because that's pretty much
that's the nut here in California.
It's the economy.
And it's this girls in boys' sports.
Boys and girls sports thing.
It's consuming everything.
And I think Michael Gates is not only going to be a big
player here in California, but on the national scene.
So I think you're going to want to see that.
Don't go anywhere. I'm Kara Davis.

I take it. I make Susan take, take my whole family takes it. This comes out of, believe it or not,
dolphin research. The Navy maintains a fleet of dolphins and a brilliant veterinarian
recognized that these dolphins sometimes developed a syndrome identical to our Alzheimer's disease.
Those dolphins were deficient in a particular fatty acid. She replaced the fatty acid and they
didn't get the Alzheimer's. Humans have the same issue. And we are more deficient in this
particular fatty acid than ever before. And a simple replacement of this fatty acid called C-15
will help us prevent these syndromes. It's published in a recent journal called Metabolites.
It's a new nutritional C-15 pentadecinoic acid, it's called. The deficiency that we're developing
for C-15 creates something called the cellular fragility syndrome.
This is the first nutritional deficiency syndrome to be discovered in 75 years
and may be affecting us in many ways and as many as one in three of us.
This is an important breakthrough.
Take advantage of it.

There's an excitement that comes with doing these kinds of workout that kind of sustains you through the day.
It's exhilarating.
It's not working out hours in the gym.
It's not running on a treadmill forever.
It's not killing yourself with diet.

Just got to follow it.
We're actually really genuinely very excited about what we're getting out of this.
We like doing it together.
We're both in on this.
And it's been a real fun adventure.
I don't know where we stop.
In the first two weeks I lost five pounds, so there you go.
In your 20s, it's easy, right?
We put our muscle easily, we're fit, we got tons of stamina.
But as you get older, you may not be able to lose weight as quickly or as easily.
You may not be able to put muscle on so easily, and joints and muscles sometimes start to hurt.
And you may think or may have been told that that's nothing you can do about it,
other than taking more pills, eating more salads, or just spending endless hours at the gym.
Well, that isn't true.
Thousands of people around the best shape of their lives,
merely because they've taken the time to do three things.
No crazy diets, no extraordinary workouts that you injure yourself or exhaust yourself,
just a simple plan that has been proven to work.
Rather than me explaining this to you for 30 minutes, there's a 30 second quiz you can take.

We're back, everybody.
I'm Keira Davis filling in for my friend, Dr. Drew, right here on Ask Dr. Drew Live.
You can find me on X at Kira Davis.
Go by my book, Drawing Lines, Why Conservatives Must Begin to Battle.
fiercely in the arena of ideas.
And we've been talking about battling fiercely this whole show.
We started out the show with Vipa Frye talking about our battle with Canada.
I don't feel like that's going to go very long.
If we decide to crush Canada, we'll just do it.
But it's cute that they like to put up this fight or whatever.
And maybe my mom will talk to me again if we invade Canada.
And then, of course, we had Tish.
Wow, wasn't she amazing?
Okay, well, it's election season.
And so coming up next is somebody who's going to be very prominent here in the state of California.
He's going to be actually a big name.
It's already creating a lot of buzz.
Has just come back from home, come home from the DOJ.
And now he's running for office here at home.
Welcome to the show, Attorney Michael Gates.
He's running for Attorney General of California.
On the golden ticket, that's Steve Houghton's ticket.
It's shaping up to be a pretty impressive ticket.
Michael, welcome to Dr. Drew.
I feel like we're kind of neighbor, so it's kind of nice to see you.
It's good to die.
I saw you last night.
I'll see you around Orange County, I'm sure.
Good to see you.
Good to see you.
I'm glad to be here.
Tell us a little bit about why you're running for Attorney General.
I'm actually really curious, Michael, why you were only at the DOJ for 10 months and how that experience shaped you for this in good or bad ways, however you want to do it.
Yeah, so a few months into that.
First of all, just so people know, I resigned as the city attorney of Huntington Beach to take that job back in the administration back in last February.
And so a few months into it, you know, I was traveling back and forth from Huntington Beach, California, all the way to D.C., to work in D.C.
And it really took a toll in the family, married with five kids, and I was missing my daughter's surf competitions, my son's varsity football games.
and I was just missing a lot, including family gatherings with our grandkids.
And so I decided in the summer that I would be, the summer of last year, that I would be returning to Southern California.
But I wasn't sure exactly when.
I was trying to hold on as long as I could, try to make it a year, and then the government shutdown occurred.
And then once I was working back at home during the government shutdown, it really sort of dawned on me.
I had a great appreciation for how much I was missing of the family.
Excuse me. So I thought to myself, you know what, I'm just going to come back now.
And so a lot of it had to do with family. But as I mentioned or wrote to Attorney General Pam Bondi when I resigned in November, I told her, I said, I wanted to come back to Huntington Beach because I wanted to continue the fight for California.
So I didn't know exactly what form or shape that was going to take, but I knew I wanted to fight for California.
because of my history in Huntington Beach where I was fighting against Sacramento for 10 years as the city attorney of Huntington Beach,
I knew that the fight was worth having, that the fight was effective, and that I could be very effective if I came back to Southern California,
came back to Huntington Beach, and continued the fight to make California better.
It's in my blood, it's in my DNA.
I was originally born in the Midwest when I was born, I was born in the Midwest,
and my folks moved us to Huntington Beach, California when I was about seven years old,
and I've been here ever since.
So I love Huntington Beach.
I love California.
And as I said, because of the 10 years of experience as the city attorney of Huntington Beach,
fighting Sacramento, I knew and I know how to fight Sacramento and to try to
make life better, not only for our residents here in Huntington Beach, but for the city as a whole.
And so there's a whole bunch of stuff that I was able to do as city attorney.
You know, a lot of attorney general candidates, and I'll just point out that I'm probably the most
unique attorney general candidate ever in the state of California.
First of all, I don't know that you know this, but I represented Dr. Drew in a case when I was
doing medical malpractice in the private sector probably 20 and 25 years ago.
Yeah, I represented.
He was my client.
I represented Dr. Drew and got him out of a case very effectively, very early on.
And so he was quite pleased.
So you have Dr. Drew's vote for sure.
I do.
And so love Dr. Drew, I really have known him for years.
And so I was proud to represent him back then.
But also, you know, a lot of Attorney General candidates, they just spend their life prosecuting crime, which is great.
You right?
They come out and they say, I'm running for Attorney General.
I've been a successful prosecutor for 25 or 30 years.
not only have I prosecuted crime for years as city attorney,
and then also with the DOJ when I was back there last year,
but I actually started Huntington Beach's first ever city-level criminal prosecutor program.
So for the first time in 2017, we started fighting crime in Huntington Beach at the city level
in cooperation in conjunction with the district attorney and our local police department.
And because of that, crime dropped by double digits, and it's been dropping ever since.
Likewise, we've prosecuted and enforced homeless issues.
And so the homelessness laws.
And so in Huntington Beach, homelessness dropped over 60% just since COVID.
So there's a lot of things that I know that we can do that I have actually done before into one of your earlier points.
Let me interrupt you there.
I'm going to interrupt you here, Michael, because I want to talk, first of all, I just want to tell people from outside the state that there's actually a marked difference.
in Huntington Beach and Long Beach, which is right next door.
Or you can basically go to any of the coastal cities along this coast,
and you will see immediately the second you walk into Huntington Beach,
it'll feel different.
It'll look different.
I mean, the difference is stark.
I can't be dramatic enough about this.
But talk a little bit about Michael,
because one of the things you talk about being an attorney for 10 years,
the city attorney for 10 years,
a lot of those years, you are a minority.
candidate, meaning that you were
the lone Republican,
and this is a, the statewide office is nonpartisan,
but in that respect, you were a lone Republican.
I know people know Huntington Beach is a conservative city,
but that's recent.
That's very recent.
That was a whole strategy to take that over.
Before those people got there,
Michael Gates was all by himself,
the lone voice,
Prosecuting homeless when his own city, you know, prosecuting the homeless industry or prosecuting, you know, crime, legitimate crime, and a counsel that was working against him. So talk a little bit about that.
Yeah. So, you know, I mean, a lot of folks have cast me as a conservative, and I am.
Excuse me, but what I have fought for in Huntington Beach are kitchen table issues. And, you know, for instance, like,
when COVID hit and Newsom came down and shut down our beaches. And he literally brought down,
you know, bulldozers and concrete parricades and state troopers, armed state troopers to shut
down our beaches. I sued and fought back against Newsom in Sacramento. And within 48 hours,
Newsom relented and opened up our beaches again. And that is not a partisan issue, right?
That was a Huntington Beach issue at the time. I was fighting for our residents to be able
to have access to our beaches during the summer months
when it was warm and safe when there was a shutdown, right?
And so really, I have been a fighter for the people
over and over and over for 10 years.
And that's why I gained so much popularity in Huntington Beach.
That's why I got so much support in Huntington Beach.
And a lot of elected officials, including city council candidates
and city council members here in the city,
have asked me, hey, what's your secret sauce?
Why are you so successful?
And I tell them, like, look, if you fight for the people and you don't give up, you don't compromise, you don't settle, you don't roll over, but you fight for the people in their interests, you will get elected, you will get reelected, you will be popular too.
You will have the support of the community.
So to your point, that's what I have, that's, I built up that reputation.
And then there was a time around 2022 when the city, I think, had had enough.
The community had had enough.
And so I went on the campaign trail, and I started to campaign with city council candidates who were like-minded in wanting to fight for our city and fight for the community and fight for the residents.
And they were getting, they got elected. Four of them got elected in 2022, and three more got elected in 2024.
And so that's where you get that seven-o sort of conservative council. But all seven of them, when they were campaigning with me, again, in 2022 and 2024, they, they,
they sort of adopted my approach, which is fight for the people, fight for every day, Huntington Beach residents. And that's what I want to do. That's why I'm running for Attorney General. I, as you said, worked for the DOJ and I fought for the people at the national level, the federal level. I was the city attorney for 10 years and fought for the people there. I was in the private sector before that, and I was a successful trial attorney and became a partner there. But I gave all of that up because I wanted to continue. I wanted to fight for the people.
And I'm running for Attorney General because I want to continue to fight for the people.
You have covered this ad nauseum that our Sacramento elites have basically ruined this state.
They're completely out of touch and divorced from reality.
When I'm Attorney General, we are actually going to be fighting crime.
We're going to enforce the criminal laws on the books.
We can start reducing crime on day one by implementing and enforcing Prop 36.
As you know, our leaders in Sacramento, both Newsom and Bonta,
think that our laws are optional. If they don't like them, they won't enforce them. They say that we
can't, for instance, enforce Prop 36 because they simply don't have the money, but then they didn't
build in any money in next year's budget to implement and enforce Prop 36. That's Hogwash. Prop 36 was
adopted and passed by the people. It is the law of the land. You know, Title IX is the law of the land.
We have an obligation in California to honor federal laws, particularly Title IX, and we
We have got to protect our young girls and our young women by keeping men and boys out of their sports.
So whether it's education statewide?
Yes.
Oh, well, I want to piggyback on what you just said because we just talked to Tish, right, Hyman.
And you know her viral video.
And that was one of the things she was saying.
And she was saying, I really like this Michael Gates guy because I like that he wants to fight for what's right.
It's not about left or right.
It's not about Democrat or Republican.
but I have to, we're running out of time and I have to ask you because you talked about spaces being invaded
and that is what we need people. We need someone to stand up for our girls. Their spaces are being invaded.
But last night, you're a lawyer. I got a lawyer brain on the show. I got to ask you.
Or the other day, Don Lemon, bursting into a church filled with worshippers who didn't ask for, you know,
weren't inviting them in. And there's a lot of question about what he,
whether or not what he did was illegal.
Because beforehand, you can see video.
I know you've seen it.
Do we have that video to play?
You guys?
It's a secret that they invited folks out.
This is Operation Pull Up more of a clandestine operation.
We show up somewhere.
They don't expect us to come there.
Yeah.
Okay, so you can.
That's on Lemon.
Give us your thought.
They basically, they made a case against themselves right there on video.
They made, you know, frankly,
too many admissions to wiggle out of this. They're going to face justice. I know the Justice
Department, particularly the Civil Rights Division, where I was, is taking a look at this.
This is what appears to be a violation of the FACE Act. And so they're going to face justice.
But, you know, like you were saying earlier, we have got to get back to common sense.
And there's going to be a lot of things that I'm going to do. And I think the people,
I just want to make this clear, people think that the Attorney General is the governor's attorney.
And that's part of the story.
The other part of it is there's a lot of independent authority by the Attorney General to enforce laws.
And on day one, I'm going to tell you, I'm going to take action to enforce criminal laws.
We're going to reduce crime throughout the state of California by imposing and enforcing Prop 36 and other criminal laws.
We are going to be defending our police departments.
I want a city-level prosecutor in all 482 cities throughout the state of California.
We're going to honor and defend Title IX, and we're going to protect our young girls and women.
We are going to enforce elections laws and make sure that whether they're voter ID laws, local laws like we have in Huntington Beach or any other election integrity law throughout the state of California, we are going to enforce election integrity laws.
We're going to reduce the homeless population by enforcing the laws that are already on the books.
I have a history of doing all these things in Huntington Beach.
And I can tell you on day one, when I'm Attorney General, we absolutely will be taking action to fix California.
and I'm not going to be asking for permission from anybody.
There won't be any excuses or exceptions.
We are going to fight for everyday Californians when I'm the Attorney General.
And I'm asking for the folks in the audience to please help me make that happen.
I know you asked the last guest for her website.
I'm going to give you a mind if you don't mind.
Yeah, you go ahead.
We're going to have everything on the screen, but please give everything.
Thank you.
Gates4A.g.com.
That's G-A-T-E-S-the-N-4A-G.com.
That's my website.
If you go to my social media on X, I'm at Michael Gates ESQ, Michael Gates ESQ.
Now, when you go to my website, Gates4AG.com, there is a place that you can donate.
And, Kira, just so you know, I've been getting great support from donors in California,
but also across the country because a lot of people in other states look to California,
and they're embarrassed.
They frankly see the awful leadership that we have.
And so they've been donating.
I've got donations from Texas, Montana, Florida, you name it.
And so I'm asking your audience, too, if you can go and donate, even if it's $100,
imagine if we got a thousand people today to donate $100 or $500, and obviously you can donate more.
But all the donations matter in a race like this, because I am taking on the Attorney General Rob Bonta.
He's the incumbent.
I know that we can do this.
He's incredibly weak because he actually wanted to run for governor.
he ran some polling to run for governor.
And his polling numbers weren't very good in California.
So guess what?
He decided to not run for governor.
And he's going to stick with the AG.
The circumstances and the conditions like you've been preaching are aligning for us to win.
And I can take out this incumbent Attorney General Rob Bonta.
I have fought him for 10 years.
Well, even before he was in office, I fought him for the five years he's been in office.
But I've been fighting Sacramento.
I know how to fight.
in court myself fighting Sacramento. I want to fight for the folks. And I'm asking for the folks to
step up and fight for me today by making a donation. If you can make a donation and provide that
essential support, look, victory can be had here. The only thing that's in my way right now is a
lack of funding. And if the audience steps up and can make a donation today and help me get there,
provide the funding, we can get the word out, and we can win this race, I guarantee it. I'm looking
forward to it. I will say this. I actually just isn't in my analyst role. I agree. I actually think
this race can be one. I do want to tell people another. I want to give people another reason to donate
to the Michael Gates campaign. AG writes the ballot measures. They control the language on our ballot
measures. So when you wonder why we pass this crazy thing or that crazy thing, it's because they
mess with the ballot measure language and people don't understand what they're voting for. A guy like
Michael, you heard him. He's clear. You understood everything he said. You didn't have to guess.
That's the guy who would be writing our ballot measure. So it's not just about all of the, it's all of this.
So we've got to go, Michael Gates. Go to Gates for AG.com. Make sure you follow him on X.
I'm going to be seeing you around Orange County, I'm sure, Michael.
Thank you. I love you. I'm glad you had me on the show. And thank you to the audience ahead of time for your support.
Thank you so much. All right. God bless. Catch you on the flip side.
And I guess that this is like we're closing it out for me too.
I mean, I'm running late.
Am I way more long-winded than Dr. Drew?
Don't answer that.
No, we typically go like over by 20 minutes of every show.
So you're on time.
Oh, I don't feel so bad.
We usually go on.
Great.
Well, okay, great.
Then let me put in this segment.
I was, let me add a segment about what's the deal with dating?
Let's talk about what's coming up on the show next week.
All right, let's see.
Next Tuesday we have, oh, comedian Kvon, Tom Rends, Clinton Knowler's, and Devlin Steele.
And then on Thursday, Autumn Smith, and Dr. Stephanie Ben Watson.
And then on Friday, Dr. Drew, we'll have Z. Van Fleet and Dr. Paul Alexander.
And in February, you're going to have guests like Dr. Jill Simmons and Dr. Sulin Hall,
Sean Stone and Adam Nimoy
That's Leonard Nimoy's son
That's so cool
Does Dr. Drew need a guest host on that one?
I'm available
And
Salty Cracker returns with Chef Grohl
We all love Chef Grohl as well
And Chef Grohl is from Michael Gates'
Neck of the Woods
So if you like Andrew Grohl
Then you definitely like Michael Gates
Because that's the crew
That's the Huntington Beach area
Peter Swikeser coming up on the 17th and on February 19th, J.P. Sears, that's super cool.
As far as I'm concerned, well, you can find me on X. You can find me on substack.
That's a good place to go. Justkira Davis.com where I do my podcast, Just Kira Davis.
That podcast is really a placeholder podcast. Kind of do it when I feel like talking about something.
Before I let you go, I'll tell you why.
old Kira did a show called Just Listen to Yourself.
That's kind of what I'm known for.
It's an audio podcast.
You can go find it.
And that was a critical thinking podcast.
I spent a lot of time reasoning through all of the debates we were having of the day.
I really was thinking of it as Kira talking to liberal Kira because I used to be, I was, remember I was raised by godless hippies.
So I used to be a default Democrat, especially as a black voter.
So I think about, well, what would that Kira have needed to hear about this topic, X, Y, or Z?
Critical Thinking podcast through the BLM riots and George Floyd, I really was focusing on conservatives trying to understand this situation and maybe give a little grace to some of the rage.
And then came Charlie.
And Charlie was, I knew Charlie personally.
I wouldn't call us friends, but we were friendly.
and we worked together a lot over the years.
We've been on the same stage a lot over the years.
And I didn't always agree with what Charlie said,
but when Charlie was killed,
I thought he could be my son.
I'm old enough to be his mom.
And I have a 23-year-old son.
And I thought if Charlie wasn't doing anything,
he never did anything.
He talked.
That's what he did.
And if they would shoot him,
they would take my son, they would take yours.
So that's when I decided I'm not in the mood to persuade anybody anymore.
I think what's happening in this country right now,
as evidence with what we've been talking about with Don Lemon especially,
I think that is a sign of a deep, deep darkness.
I think that is a sign of absolute derangement.
And I think this is a sign that our country has been taken over.
We're not, I know it's confusing to,
a lot of people out there because you think
that they're, how are all these
people getting the attention and
you know, it's just this crazy group of people
but I think what we're coming to understand
that this has actually been in the works for
25, 30 years or more.
None of this is an accident.
All of our systems have been rotted out
from the inside out. So now you
have people like Tish
having a run. She's a
great case for herself actually. She said I'm a business
woman and I like to get things done. I mean, I like to hear that
right? But she's not
that's not what she got into
adulthood for. She's a
she's an artist. You heard her say we've had
enough and that is the sentiment I hear
traveling up and down this state.
Everybody's had enough and they don't really
care about the typical
Republicans versus Democrat.
In fact, they're sick of it. We're starting to feel
like we've been lied to it, which of course you and I
know that we have, but you get women
like Tisch, she's just figuring
it out. You heard her say.
I had to go unwind the
lies. I had to go deprogram myself. But this is the good news. I think there's a lot of people
out there in America, but also right here in California, that are ready to be deprored. The problem is
they don't ever get to see the truth because they're locked into lies, right? They're locked into
the cable channels of the left. That's why shows like Dr. Drew matters. That's why I do what I do.
I give you that explanation by way of saying, if you see that I don't do regular podcasting right now,
it's because I'm friggin angry.
I'm pissed.
And old Kira is not that
Kira. I'm nice and kind and I don't really
cuss on TV and I have these dimples and I
come off like your mom. But old Kira is gone.
This Kira is pissed. I'm with Tish.
Those boys are in my daughter's locker room.
I'm with Tish.
I'm with Michael Gates. I'm with Viva. I'm with Dr. Drew.
I'm with anybody who says,
they're tired of not being able to say what they see in front of their own eyes.
We're tired of not being listened to.
We're tired of not being heard.
We don't care about we're tired of being lied to.
Californians in the state have been lied to for decades.
The Republicans hate you.
They're racist.
Yada, yada, yada.
You've got to vote for Democrats and how's that working for us, right?
I think at this point, everyone can agree.
It's not.
So I'm not in the mood to persuade.
That being said, I'm not sure what I'm in the mood to do.
So I love the opportunity to come on Dr. Drew's show and talk to the people out there and ask you, what do you think I should be doing?
Hit me up on X.
Hit me up on my sub-sac, justkira Davis.com.
Those are the best places to reach me, actually.
Or hit up Dr. Drew and tell him what you think I should be doing.
I know what you should be doing.
You should be doing what, I'm going to close it out here.
You should be doing what Tish is doing.
You should be doing what Spencer Pratt is doing.
And they'll work that out, right?
It's still really early.
So they'll work that out, but they both deserve the chance to be heard
and for their platforms to be heard.
But I'm no longer of the mind that some of us are going to be able to sit back
and live our lives and just pray for the best for those who are out there doing the work.
I think everyone's going to have to get in the game right where they are.
You're going to have to pick some kind of battle and get in it.
And it might be sharing articles with your relatives that you know
wouldn't otherwise see it on Facebook.
And maybe they unfriend you.
Great.
Good riddance.
I mean, again, I don't, my heart's pretty hard towards that because my own mother
broke up with our family over this.
And I mean cold turkey.
We have not seen or heard from her.
And that's all Trump.
I think Viva talked about it at the beginning, he said,
when Trump was threatening to annex Canada, that's when it happened.
But that's how crazy they are.
You know what I mean?
I'm laughing about it, but it's not funny,
but I don't have time to cry in front of you right now,
and I don't want to ruin my mascara at the end of the show.
It's crazy, but that's where we are.
So everybody's got to get in the game.
Everyone has to tell the truth.
That's why what tested mattered so much.
And maybe that's your calling.
Maybe that's what you'll do,
that when the time is right,
and when you are presented with a lie in front of your eyes
and everyone around you is asking you,
go along to get along, you'll be tish, and you'll stand up and you'll say, no friggin' way.
This isn't real, and I won't stand for it.
All right.
Well, it's been a pleasure to sit in for my friend, Dr. Drew, today.
Thank you, Drew.
Thank you, Sue.
Thank you, Caleb.
Thank you to everybody on the Ask Dr. Drew team.
Please go find me on my sub-sac, just Kira Davis, or on X at Kira, Davis,
by my book, drawing lines.
But whatever you do, what you can't do is nothing.
because we're just not in that season.
It's worse.
Get on your helmet.
Get on your shield.
Pick your battle line and go win.
Catch you on the flip side, America.
Peace.
