Hi friends, this week I'm going to tell you how a simple life will ruin you.
After you've experienced certain things in life, you've been through certain traumas,
you've been through certain hardships, trying to live a normal or simple and balanced life
is going to burn you out quick and it's going to make you question yourself because daily
tasks, daily things you need to do just surviving as a human being starts to feel like a big
challenge once there's
no bad shit happening in your life. But the biggest thing I want to protect you from is
starting to feel like you're weak and question yourself when life seems to get difficult,
when it's simple. If you're watching this video and it found you, you're meant for a lot more
than you're currently living and what you're currently doing. You're meant to have a big shift
and a big change. And I hope this episode helps you figure out what that change needs to be,
because you're not weak. You're not crazy. Actually,
the level of strength you have is not normal. It's just not being utilized.
So before we jump into things, the tour continues.
My next live show is May 17th in LA. Then I go to Sacramento after that.
I just did my first show in Boston and at my live shows I teach you about confidence and
bringing you back to the essence of who you truly are. I make a roadmap you call
me GPS and the roadmap is to get you from a place of insecure or doubting
worried whatever to a place of confidence with eight checkpoints that's
how many I got. The first show went great I cannot wait for more I'm so goddamn
excited so I'll put the link in the description where you guys can get That's how many I got. The first show went great. I cannot wait for more. I'm so goddamn excited.
So I'll put the link in the description where you guys can get tickets.
And if you do buy a ticket,
post it on your Instagram story and tag me so I could see it.
I've been messaging everybody back. I like to share the excitement.
Now let's jump into this.
So the whole thing with potential and the potential of who you are and what you
can do in this life is constantly raising.
You don't have one potential and one purpose in this life.
It constantly grows and changes. And the more you experience and the more your capabilities grow,
the more your potential grows because the more capabilities you have, the stronger you get,
the smarter you get, the more capable you are of achieving more things. Your potential is
constantly growing and changing. But this works both ways. So trauma does this and increases your capabilities and so does achievement and success.
Because when you go through certain traumas, you get good at handling a lot of things.
Your body is used to and prepared for a lot of different types of stress, extreme amounts
of stress, pressures most people can't handle.
When you go through traumatic shit or you have bad things happen and just hardships in life,
it fully molds your character and increases your threshold of things you
can survive, handle, and go through. It also changes the way that your brain
works. But the biggest thing is it instills you with a lot of skills. And
these are skills that are on a very high level typically,
depending on what you've been through. Same thing with achievement.
When you achieve a lot of things, it makes you capable of a lot more.
Your capabilities rise, your skills rise,
your idea and perception of what is possible changes.
Same thing with trauma just in a different angle,
but with achievement and trauma,
they both can fuck you because they will pull you into
such a high functioning and powerful and capable person for you to try and drop down into a
simple life or live a normal simple little life.
You get burnt out with it because you're meant to be operating on such a higher level.
But the real bitch of all this is when you are capable of a lot and you have a lot of
skills when you don't act on them and you have a lot of skills,
when you don't act on them, they will rot you from the inside.
That's a lot of potential.
That's a lot of energy inside you.
And if you trap it inside yourself, you will start to go insane.
You will start to overthink and nitpick every little thing because you now have the mental
capacity and the space in your
mind to do it and you're not used to living at a normal place in a normal
state or used to constantly putting out fires, handling things, dealing with
things, having a lot of things in your life dictate what you can and can't do
and holding what your focus can be on. When your focus is free, the human brain
is gonna look for problems or it will create problems to
solve them.
And that is when, when you're a very, very strong or high functioning person who's been
through a lot or can just handle a lot, when you try to just go live a normal life, the
daily tasks, your brain starts to fuck you up because you make a lot of things bigger
than they need to be.
And when you're trying to live your life, going to the gym, doing a little diet routine,
working your job or doing whatever mundane shit is going on in a normal life.
You're not used to that level of easy. And it's like,
once you go up in capability and skill,
you can't go back down without losing your fucking mind because you're used to
functioning at such a high level.
But let me back up really quick because I want to hit this from the emotional
resilience aspect.
When you go through hardships and you have a lot of things happen,
the level of emotional strength you gain when you've gone through extreme loss
or extreme heartbreak or extreme hardship or your life falls apart or you had
your home ripped out from under you or destroyed or whatever it is,
your life falls apart or you had your home ripped out from under you or destroyed or whatever it is,
you're able to handle such high emotional states.
And for a lot of you, that was your state of normal for a long time.
You learned how to function at that level and it just became your normal
experience. But when you're living through a period like this,
when you're living through like a bad situation,
you're used to operating with such extreme amounts of pressure on you,
having to put thought into every decision you make because every decision is life or death,
or it's extremely important and impactful. So you see every decision you make or action you take
with extreme reward or loss. You see extreme cause and effect with the things that you decide and do while you're
living in a period like this. Every decision matters because it has a grand impact and that's
a big reason. Like I said before, daily tasks start to become very, very difficult and challenging
because it's little minute bullshit that you're doing that doesn't really have much of an impact.
But you're used to seeing a very grand impact with every action that you take.
So you're over here used to spending so much energy on stuff and seeing a big reward.
And you're using your energy now to do little mundane bullshit.
And it just seems like there's a lot and there's nothing else for you to do.
That's like the biggest part of your day is cleaning the house or going to the
gym or going to work or going to school. That's like the big grand event.
There's no big reward usually immediately. There's no big impacts.
There's no big sense of relief with a giant amount of pressure doing something
and then experiencing a benefit or a change immediately in your circumstances.
When there's just slow results and slow progress, it's hell.
And these things all start to get very draining and you don't really see the point in it.
There's no fun in it.
There's no reward really because there's nothing present that is stretching you and forcing
you to grow and forcing you to execute and think and feel at the level you've just gotten
accustomed to. And that is when you will start to question yourself and I want to
prevent you from doing that shit. I'm about to unpack it all so I can protect
that little brain of yours. So when daily little activities become mundane and
they get boring and you don't really see a point to it. There's no real motivation for it.
You have to force yourself to do things.
And when you don't have emotions to run off of, like you're used to at that level you
got accustomed to, you have to just use willpower and discipline.
And you're going to start to question if you're actually strong and you'll start to feel very weak when it
takes so much strength and intention to do the daily mundane tasks of just surviving.
You're going to feel like it takes such an insane amount of willpower and strength to
get yourself to do it.
And then some days you're going to slack off and fuck off and you're not really going to
do what you need to do.
You're going to slack off and fuck off and you're not really going to do what you need to do, you're going to start to question yourself. And if you live in that too long, you're going to
completely forget what you're capable of and the level you're able to operate at and the pressure
you can withstand and the things you actually are strong enough to do. So this little period
of mundane bullshit is going to rob you of the memory of the level that you've operated out before.
And then you'll start to look back and question, how was I able to do X, Y,
Z so long ago? Now I can barely get myself up and go to the gym.
It's not about you're not strong enough to do it now.
It's different circumstances and it's a different version of you doing it.
This version of you is not living in a life or death situation or going through something catastrophic. There's not much emotional
charge and much desire to get out of your given circumstances after you've
gone through some really really hard shit. When it's just normal and mundane
and no change you make has that much of a reward, it's not as enticing to make it.
When every single day you wake up and you're in like a really really bad period of hardship
Every single thing you do changes something there's some kind of benefit. There's ups and downs every single day
So when you get to normal days where there's like barely enough and barely a down
It feels like you're fucked up and you can easily slip into a depression
Because you forget all of your skills and all your capabilities. So the biggest thing to do, the biggest thing to do if you're resonating with any of this
is to sit down and make a list of all the things you've accomplished and all the things
you've achieved and then make a separate list of all of the hard decisions you've had to
make, all the hardest things you've had to decide, hardest conversations you've had to
have, all the hardest shit that you've had to do, put it in a separate list and then looking at those lists, go through and make
a list, another list of all of the skills that it takes for someone to be able to achieve
everything you have and to make the decisions that you've made.
You're going to feel such a resurgence and a recharge in who you are. This is going to help you remember who the fuck you are.
And that's exactly what you need right now.
You're over here questioning yourself because you're not being challenged at the
level you need to be challenged at.
This lower level shit will make you feel weak and it will make you question
yourself. So before that happens, or if it's already happened,
that's a big way to get yourself out of it I'm about to go into more stuff
Now I want to hit on the skills part that I talked about the new skills that you have and when you don't utilize them
They will rot you from the inside. Let's go into that a little bit more
Basically your essence and your soul has leveled up. You got new skills
You got new capabilities and trying to go back now
Will ruin you a simple life will destroy you when you
have that much potential energy inside of you. If you're not getting it out, if
you're not creating things, doing things, challenging yourself and stretching
yourself and using the skills at the level that you now have them, they will
literally destroy you from the inside and the first place that's gonna hit you
is mentally. Like I said, the whole question, your self aspect,
your mind is going to become your biggest enemy when you have such high
capabilities and you don't even touch them with the shit you're doing.
You need to do absolutely so much more. You need to think even bigger.
And I want to talk about the burnout piece because I know right now,
hearing that you're like fuck I'm already burnout and I can barely do
like basic mundane stuff like what do you mean I need to do more be at a
higher level like I'm tired bitch I get it but the level of skills you have need
new challenges so before you saw this you probably weren't aware that what
you've been through has given you a new set of skills and a whole new mental strength and framework that needs to be exercised
like a muscle. So your new skill set needs new challenges to continually grow
them. But what I want to reassure you of is you are not burnt out. Totally. You're
burnt out on the level you're on. You're burnt out with the normal basic
bullshit you keep trying to force yourself to do.
Stop doing it. Start thinking so much bigger and start shooting for so much more. Because what happens when you set bigger goals and you make everything little and minute just be a byproduct
of achieving something bigger, it makes everything that's mundane and bullshit feel even smaller.
So how you're used to feeling like it's a big task to go to the gym,
go to work, clean the house, do whatever you need to do. Like maintenance wise,
when you can make these things feel small and you know what
actually challenging is and what big is when you can give yourself that
contrast, all this shit's going to become so easy.
It's all going to become just like a little blip in the bigger picture.
And you're going to have a new onset of energy to handle everything.
And it's not going to feel like such a task and a chore because you have this
bigger goal you want to work on and this bigger thing you want to do.
But the way to figure out what to do is like I said, by making those lists before,
you're going to make a challenge and have a goal for the skills that you're now
aware that you have.
You're going to make a goal at that level and not be making a goal from the
level you're at right now.
It's feeling like insecure and feeling like you doubt yourself.
You're going to remind yourself of the fuck you are with the list and you're
going to go set a goal on that level,
not this level right now where you're so worried and insecure and like,
I can barely even go to the gym. How am I supposed to do this?
I can't even do like basic stuff where you're not going to make a goal from this
insecure little spot.
You're going to take the part of you who knows who you are and make a goal from
there. But the point of writing down everything you've already done reminds you,
you're capable of so much more.
You're capable of so much more than you feel like you're facing right now.
And it's going to give you that boost. Like I said,
in the resurgence and the confidence to get up and fucking do it,
I'm about to get into talking about what makes other people happy is not what's
going to make you happy when you're meant for a lot more in this life. But first,
I want to talk about how I said making things a by-product of your bigger goal. For me, going on tour is my bigger goal.
Doing my shows is a bigger goal and every single thing that needs to be done to
be able to execute, to look how I want to look,
know what I want to know and practice the amount that I want to practice and
organize everything and set everything up.
The amount that I have to do for that goal.
If I were to just look at every single thing individually,
it would wear me the fuck out.
But having it underneath the bigger goal makes it all just seem like little
steps.
And you can see how each action and each step you take is to serve a bigger
purpose. Because the way my life is set up right now,
I'm running two miles a day and also doing a workout every single day.
I'm eating a very strict meal plan so I can get my body and look good and feel confident
on stage.
Those two things used to wreck me when I had nothing I was doing it for.
To eat as clean as I'm eating and to exercise as much as I'm exercising, that was the biggest
fucking challenge of my day
when I had nothing it was for.
When I can assign it two things,
it feels way more doable.
And you every single day get the reassurance
and the boost that it's for something.
There's a bigger purpose behind it
than just to fucking do it,
which is gonna drain the hell out of you.
Because I'm not just doing those two things.
The amount that I'm practicing,
the amount that I'm reading,
the amount of people I have on my team that I'm working with, the meetings I'm not just doing those two things. The amount that I'm practicing, the amount that I'm reading, the amount of people I have on my team that I'm working with,
the meetings I'm having the merch and creating all of that and making sure
everything's set up. Also traveling, making my podcasts,
making content for social media, all of these things at one time,
feel overwhelming.
But when I put it under the main goal of all of this is for the tour
and to be able to execute how I want to, it all seems like there's an integral part to
it and it all seems important and useful and not just things I'm doing to fill up my day.
There's an end goal.
There's a bigger goal at the skillset I can operate on.
It just takes all these little mundane things that no longer seem big in
comparison.
So that's the biggest thing I can tell you is to look for how each action you're
taking is in support of something that you want or is toward a bigger goal or
toward a bigger execution.
Cause just trying to work out twice a day and eat clean and post content and make
my podcasts and work and do my meetings and all my shit
aside from the tour. That used to run me into the ground. I felt like I was just so busy. No time for nothing.
But now I'm doing double and it's all for something. Now it seems totally doable.
And I have the energy to get up and do shit because I see how it's useful.
Not just something I have to just do to do. If that makes sense.
Giving the meaning to it. That's the way to dumb this down,
but really just making all of your little goals be a byproduct of a big goal.
Set. You are set with energy, motivation, skill.
You've got it all under your belt and it's going to help you be way more
disciplined because you see a reason to be. It's more than just to do it.
All right, quick pause to talk about the sponsors of today's podcast.
The first one is Lumi and Lumi is a whole body deodorant that makes us,
none of us have to worry about BO again. And unlike other deodorants,
Lumi is powered by mandelic acid to control odor in a new way,
everywhere from your pits, your feet,
and even your private parts because it's a whole body deodorant.
Just don't eat it. Lumi was created by an OBGYN and fast forward six years.
Her game-changing whole body deodorant
has now earned over 300,000 five-star reviews.
And one good thing about it
is it's kind of like a pre-deodorant
because it stops odor before it starts.
It's also baking soda-free and paraben-free,
and it's pH balanced, like I said,
so you can use it down there.
And Lumi's starter pack is perfect for new customers.
It comes with a solid stick deodorant, cream tube deodorant, two free products of your
choice like a mini body wash and deodorant wipes, which I take to the gym.
I like them a lot.
And it comes with free shipping.

40% off.

Now back to the podcast.
And one more thing I want to point out with that is intentional action is
motivating. So like I said, when you can see why you're doing things,
it makes you want to do it. Also, deadlines give you
perspective and having the bigger goal with a deadline will give you so much insight and
motivation and consequences in front of your face. Because with me going on tour and getting on stage,
when I get to be on the stage and I'm standing there, if I get up there and I have any hesitation with how I look or
how much I've prepared or the way things are going to go,
if I give it my all every single day to prepare and make sure I do everything in
my control to look and feel my best and execute my best on stage,
I'm not going to have any doubt creep up when I'm on the stage because if there's
certain nights where, oh, I ate a little extra or I skipped a workout for two days over here,
if I'm on stage and I feel insecure about the way that I look,
I'm immediately going to see all the little holes and all the deficiencies and
all the times I didn't step up to the plate and do what the fuck I needed to do.
It's going to be in my mind and I will feel valid in the insecurity and the doubt and the worry
Because I can see how I'm not as prepared as I could have been how I didn't actually do everything
I could to make sure I was good to go and able to execute
That's another big thing with just timelines as perspective
You want to be able to get up to whatever the timeline is and know. Like when I get on stage and I stand there and if I have any thought about the
way that I look, I did every fucking thing I could. It wipes out any doubt,
any worry. Every single day I've pushed it 110%.
I don't have any doubt come up because this is the best it can be.
You have certainty. This is the best it could have been.
And I did the fucking work to be able to stand here confidently when the situation arises.
Now let's talk about things that make other people happy is not what's going to make you
happy.
Oh my God, this has fucked me up for a lot of my life.
What makes you happy is going to be different from what makes other people happy, especially
when you've been through shit like we have. If you found this especially when you've been through shit like
we have.
If you found this video, you've been through some shit and if you're still here, you're
resonating.
I'm sure there's been a lot of times where you've chased things and you convinced yourself,
this is going to make me happy once I have this thing or once I do this thing.
It seems to make everybody else happy.
It's not going to work for you.
It's not going to work for us.
It never has, never will.
You have a different level of things you're here to accomplish and things you're meant
to do.
Superficial bullshit is not going to work for you.
Going about life like other people that lack meaning and can find fulfillment by just wearing
some designer clothes and having some money and having some fame.
People that can be fulfilled by that are not meant to be understood by you.
It doesn't work for you. It's not enough for you. If you've ever felt that nothing seems like enough for me,
this is the sign you're meant for so much more.
Because right now everybody thinks I'm insane because I'm about to go back to
school to become a psychologist and I want to go back to school to become a psychologist and I want to go
back to school.
A lot of people around me look at me and they're so baffled, confused.
What the fuck?
You can't just be happy with the fame that you've got and the money that you're making
and everything that's going on in your life.
You have it all.
Looking at me from the outside, I have what everybody wants. It's not enough for me.
I need to be constantly growing and changing and learning new things.
When I'm not learning and growing, I'm fucking bored and it rots me.
So for me to go back to college and go get my masters and then my doctorate,
everybody's looking at me like I'm nothing.
They're literally like you're wasting what you have because you're still trying to chase
more.
It's not that I'm chasing more.
Me and you are meant for more.
We can't just sit down in money and fame and then put our feet up and kick up and relax.
That life will literally ruin us.
It will drain the hell out of us.
Trust me, I've tried it.
I've tried it multiple times to just relax and do nothing. It doesn't last long. And a lot of people think that I
don't encourage taking breaks. You very much should take breaks and take
vacations and have time off, but not too long. You'll know when it's been too long
and it's not a matter of, oh you're not sitting with your feelings long enough.
There's a difference between discomfort coming up because you have an addiction to achievement versus feelings coming up because you're limiting
yourself and you're not using your potential at the level it needs to be used at. For me
to go take more than a week to go on vacation or do something, girl I'm over here like itching
ready to get back to life and achieving things and moving and growing and doing something else.
We're not meant to be understood. We're not meant to be okay with the status
quo. We are meant for more. Now tap the fuck into it and if your life doesn't
make sense to other people, it doesn't have to. But at the core of who every
single one of us is as a human being, you're put on this earth to have desires and then go after them and line up with them.
And then that's going to bring new desires. And then you go after that and you hit that. And then you have new desires come from that.
You're meant to constantly and continually be giving birth to new desires, following them and lining up with them.
That's the expansion of the whole universe and spirituality in a nutshell.
Basically that's what you're supposed to be doing.
So anything that is going to convince you to limit yourself or stop yourself on
a pursuit or on going forward towards something,
anything that's to encourage you to fully stop is going to hurt you. And like I
said, you need to take breaks. You need to relax.
You need to regroup sometimes and recenter and focus on what you need to do and
what you want to change and a new direction to go.
You definitely need brief periods to switch,
but you always need to be having something in mind where you're going and
living and doing your shit. Even if you sit down and agree, okay,
for the next month, I'm just going to live. I'm just going to exist.
I'm just going to slack off and do nothing. I've achieved enough. Do it.
I guarantee you it don't last two weeks.
You can't stop that flow and hold yourself back and sit here with all this
energy you have to go manifest all kinds of fucking shit and achieve everything
you're meant to achieve. You can't sit here and trap it inside you. It will rot you. You know. I know. And I know
that you know because you feel it. You can't just sit down and not do things.
It's very uncomfortable to not be acting on your potential and using your soul
and your essence and this life for what it is worth. It feels uncomfortable because you're not meant to stop.
You're not meant to limit yourself.
And especially when you've been through shit that stretched you and made you able
and capable of functioning on a higher level, you're meant to keep going.
You're meant to achieve so much more than most people. A lot of souls.
This is not our first time in this life.
Some people are meant to get to a certain bracket and that's enough that's like they're happy with it they're good they're content it's like
oh my god I've blasted past that by the time I was 19 years old and I'm over
here just like what the fuck and I don't mean to sound like an egotistical
asshole cuz the things I've been through gladly would trade you trade you for a nice little gift card at Chuck E Cheese or some shit
to not have to deal with certain things. But at the end of the day what you've
been through has prepared you for a lot and it has grown you and made you
capable of so much. It's time to recognize that and use it to your
advantage because a lot of shit that happens to you you can't control. But what
you can do is look at the cold hard truth.
You've been changed. You've been molded.
You've been grown and it wasn't by a lot of our choice when certain things just
happen.
But your choice better be to make the fucking best of it and use all the new
skills you have and use your capabilities for all their goddamn worth.
Do not let the pain you've been through and the headache you've survived be for
nothing.
Get up and keep that ass moving until you see the fruits of that shit until you
can see a benefit from all the bad things you've been through. Don't stop.
