The moose is like a VA vet's club, but for everybody as long as you pay $50. A year? $50 a year. It's the biggest deal in America. We make it back in one visit. Literally. And they have very cheap drinks. Also, it is moose or mooses.

We wanted to get out here, drink some beer, watch some NFL football. I really wish this TV right here was on. Yeah, that's a real boner killer. Oh, yeah, you can see. so I was a little, like, nervous right away. Once we parked and we got to the brewery, it's like you're walking into, like, an old, like, bank or, like, lawyer's office or whatever you want to call it. Okay. You go up some stairs, and then it's, like, second or third floor. You go in. There's a huge wide open area. It's kind of, like, warehouse-y. Are you looking at it? Yeah. So, like, warehouse- floor. Yeah. So, like, warehouse-y. They have benches. You can see all of their, like, giant keg things where they brew the beer. Very cool. Little natural lighting coming off the top. Oh, yeah. One of those big-ass fans.

Have you? Yeah. But wait, wait, wait. Keep scrolling. There's a rooftop. No. Yes. And it's fucking incredible.

Wow. So, we walked in there. We saw the middle part. I was like, dang, this is like fucking sweet. It's like huge. You can play people playing bags and like stuff like that. And, um, we ended up like just walking around and I was like, Oh shit, dude, there's a rooftop. Went up to the rooftop. Beautiful. Like you can see the, the bridge over to Kentucky. Yep. Bridge over to Kentucky. You can see, what is it, the Bengals Stadium. Like, you can see, like, over the Rhine. Like, it's beautiful views. I'll say this because I just, you know, I drove back from Kentucky a couple weeks ago.

Driving through Cincinnati over that bridge is one of my favorite drives. I love it for road trips. That is, like, one of the best, like, city entrances,ances like when you're coming up on a city love that yeah that was what i i wish that detroit had something that's a no that is a big one you know it's funny i think caitlin was actually telling me this um or maybe it wasn't caitlin maybe it was a girl i dated in high school i don't know somebody told me this wait what either caitlin or a girl who you dated in high school. I don't know. Somebody told me this. Wait, what? Either Kaylin or a girl who you dated in high school? I don't know why that's related

like that, but that's how the memory is shared in my mind. Didn't they build that bridge for the Super Bowl? I have no idea. It's in Allen Park or something. That was the most outrageous thing I've ever heard you say. I don't know how he got so far in a tangent, but yes.

No, road trips, love it. Bridges, Cincy's great. Get back to the original part of the story. Got my Rheingeist Truth draft. It's great. Also got the bucket of beer because I thought you were coming sooner than you arrived. Right, right. Which, you know, you never set up a time fair enough to you.

My one plus six beers in the bucket. So I'm sitting there with seven beers, just coming in hot. Coming in so hot to the moose. I love the thought process of that a bucket wasn't enough and you had to order an extra draft for yourself.

Let me get a crafty to get me started. And there's also, I don't know if we mentioned this already or not, but there's some ski club that's also here. So it's a bunch of a little wealthier people, not a crowd. Yeah. And not the crowd that we're used to when we come into the moose, which are normally our people. And I'm sitting here at this table by myself with seven beers and multiple older, you know, wealthy women came up to me. And we're like, I hope like me, like making a joke, like making a fucking joke at me. So I didn't know whether to be like, I'm like, are these, like, old ladies hitting on me?

I kind of like it. Like, that's kind of cool. Like, I'll take that. You know, I'm married. I don't get, I don't get, nobody hits on me, dude. Nobody fucking, like, that matters hits on me other than my wife, my beautiful wife. So these old ladies are like, oh, I hope all those aren't for you.

They're like, oh, are all those for you? Something like that. And I was like, yeah, you know, maybe. I don't know. I'm supposed to have some friends show up, but we'll see what happens. It's a little mix between getting hit on and also them calling you an alcoholic, which is like, you know, that's right where you want to be. Yeah, yeah.

I'm supposed to be right on the toe of that line. Just right in the middle right there. I think that's a good spot for me. All right. I want to talk about Hawaii. Hard transition. We should talk about football. Hard transition. First of all, a little fun fact.

It is called the University of Hawaii at Manoa. When did that change? Or how long has that been a thing? It's probably been a thing forever, but we just didn't know it. Nobody ever said it.

pulling through all these bullshit websites, trying to find information. I probably would have liked school a hell of a lot better. Yeah, I mean, the databases we're going through was like... Ridiculous, trying to pull articles out of my asshole. Like, let me go to Wikipedia. I'll write what you want me to write. Right. Like, it'll be like 75 true like that's pretty good also i mean here we are today in the year 2022 and i'm 30 years old and i still use wikipedia like every day of my life dude wikipedia

is what i use like literally i google something to find out what wikipedia says on it sometimes i'll say like matthew stafford wikipedia like that's my google search oh i don't i don't do that i think i i honestly like i here's here's what it is so i'll google it i don't know if i purposely go out to google it just find the wikipedia link but if i google anything and then there's like Sports Illustrated, for example, Amazing Brew, BlueBandID.com, but I see Wikipedia within the top four, I'm like, boom, Wikipedia, what do we got to say? Because I know they're going to have it fucking organized, get rid of the point, write a bunch of bullshit.

They try to guilt you into that right away i mean wikipedia is great like i like i've charged a membership i've clicked on it and like i've clicked on it i'd be a dollar so think about this like i literally like i just said i don't purposely go out for it go out for wikipedia but if i had to pay a dollar a month for my life just to have access to Wikipedia,

Okay, let's talk logistics about Hawaii getting to Ann Arbor, Michigan. Okay. Give me some numbers. They took the red eye last night. Okay, explain a red eye to me. You don't know what a red eye is you're not a flight guy not a plane guy not a plane guy like what is that it's like the last flight of like i mean and you get back in the morning or something is that what yeah it's

like an overnight flight oh that's simple okay go on it's because it like makes your eyes red because you don't really sleep really well yeah Okay, you understand that? That's the simplest explanation why nobody ever said that to me in my life. Have you ever asked? Maybe not. Maybe I just always wondered. But I finally vocalized it. Now I know. That makes so much sense.

My life has changed forever. I'm really glad that we're getting you to grow up here. No, so they took the red eye last night. Got in at 6.30 in the morning on we're recording this on thursday thursday morning okay and then practiced at ipsy lincoln i believe it is today gonna practice tomorrow gonna play the game gonna red-eye back saturday night jesus it's like an eight eight nine hour flight or something like that tell me this is it worth the two mil that they're getting paid well i don't know if that's worth it paid to do this stuff like you think they could let them give a fucking couple days in between but you gotta get you gotta get home because you gotta play next week

He's, like, let the team stay in a city, like, twice ever at Michigan. After a game? Even after a night game, they'll fly right back.

The only time he's done it is a Big Ten championship game. Yeah. But, like, also, Michigan is not traveling to fucking Hawaii. Right. But they'll travel to, I mean, Nebraska or, like. Yeah. I mean, that's a shitty flight at midnight, you know. Yeah.

But, I mean, I just think if you're traveling from literally, like, I don't know how the fuck Hawaii is a part of the United States of America because they should be like their own island own country whatever. It should be like Puerto Rico really. But you're basically flying overseas. Here's the other question. You can't fucking How do they get their equipment here?

Because Michigan has like a semi that drives everywhere. You obviously can't They maybe have like a cargo plane. Maybe that's why obviously can't put it. Maybe you have a cargo plane. Maybe that's why they can't stay because they have to pay for a cargo plane. Could be it. Holy shit. Could be it.

Great. I don't think it's a hot take, but to the Michigan fan base, I think that's a hot take. He didn't play that bad. Like, watching, like, after watching, like, literally take away the drops from the receivers and that first drive. Maybe for, yeah, no, first drive. He played like Cade.

Didn't do anything special, but didn't do a whole lot wrong. No. He didn't throw a pick. Handed the ball off. Handed the ball off incredibly well. He does that a lot. His obliques are fucking dude has the best obliques in the game for sure um i've been told i i agree with you with that take um before

before sorry i'll explain on that let me finish uh let me finish what i was gonna say i'll try to make it quick because i know i kind of ramble sometimes but um favorite game i ever re-watched it was a michigan loss i know you i know you and Kalen know this because I send you videos all the time. You're sick in the head. Some of my favorite Michigan games, I think the majority of my favorite Michigan games other than this past season and a couple others have been really close games that Michigan loses, and it's just a fucking heartbreaker.

I mean, I don't understand your brain. So along that line, my favorite game I ever re-watched, and it wasn't even a re-watch. I watched it for the first time. But it was when Michigan played Florida State, 2016. We were at a – it was 2016. No, no, it was. It was because it was after we Lost to Ohio State And it was New Year's Eve

Okay So We had a wedding That we were going to and it's like first wedding is like you know a relationship for us so like i'm like what am i gonna say fuck no i'm gonna watch a fucking game yeah it's tough so um and credit to this party like literally so my wife went to msu got her undergrad graduate degree there she's fucking annoying about basketball but football she doesn't really care. So, like, it's fine.

But, so we're at this wedding, bunch of Spartys, all our high school friends, college friends, they all went to fucking MSU. And it's on New Year's Eve. So it's a New Year's Eve wedding. Obviously, no TVs at the wedding.

It's like, it was actually a pretty nice place. It was a cool spot. And game's on. Obviously, like, everybody knows the fucking game's it's new year's six bowl um michigan florida state's big game and the entire wedding no sparty said anything to me about score everybody kind of knew i was a michigan fan they're like so i was like i was like hey man like please like nobody like don't tell me a score don't tell me what's going on don't be anything and that was a really good part of it um so like it was almost kind of like i got obviously i knew the game was

going on i really really really want to watch it but um the fact they knew that they respected that and didn't say anything that was pretty cool for me and um even on the way home man i was i was texting out like even on my phone i was trying not to look at my phone like when i texted my friends i was like who's texting me literally look at my phone like when i texted my friends i was like who's texting me literally my phone like this because we have like video on like i was barely looking at see who texted me and what they said um some of my friends i texted them and i was like man just tell me what the fuck happened like no dude you just have to watch it you have to watch it it's like fuck okay i was like all right let's watch it uber ride home it's 45 minute uber ride from i think like plymouth so did you, like, they're saying that because it's, like, going to be a good thing?

Yeah. Brett. So Brett, he was like, dude, like, it is, like, I can't remember what he said, but the way he said something, it, like, insinuated to me that Michigan won that game. And he said that, and I was like, fuck, okay, sweet. Like, okay, this will be fun to watch. And, God, I just wanted to be in something else. But we're on the Uber ride home.

It's part of the same story. But it's 45 minutes on the way home. They even asked the Uber driver, I was like, dude, just tell me what the fuck happened. Like, tell me what happened in the game. Tell me. He's like, no, dude, just go home, watch it. I'm like, okay, they definitely won. Like, how do they do it?

I'm watching. So I literally wake up i stayed at my wife girlfriend at times place um and i woke up the next day went home super excited gonna watch the game for the first time and like for me like obviously i love tailoring all this stuff i love to go in the game when i can i'm like watching with friends when i can but i watch the game all by myself i'm sitting in my room just me and michigan football on football on TV and like that's how I did it and like when I was younger too and I just fucking loved it man like so that was like super cool and I'm watching it by myself and the first half goes by I text my buddy I'm like dude I just finished

first half what the fuck are you we're down by like I was like we look terrible we look terrible in the first half. And I was like, dude, this game sucks. I was like, dude, just wait, just wait, just wait. And then all of a sudden, like, Michigan comes back. And I don't remember if we were up at one point or not, but it was just like back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And, like, they had Dalvin Cook, Florida State,

DeAndre Francois, who I thought was going to be the next great QB. Right. Like, whatever happened to him, I think we talked about him in the last podcast, too, and he was fun to watch. I really liked him as a player. Then you see Michigan competing and coming back and making it a close game, and obviously they lost, but that was one of the most memorable favorite moments watching a game for me, just by myself, next morning, like, wake up, football. I'm not gonna lie that was the weirdest story i've ever heard in my entire life dude i just like oh i fucking loved it though hey that was incredible i was really like i was reliving it i was reliving it i was telling

the story and i was hoping i that people can envision this with me i can't believe we sat through that i can't believe we did either holy shit fucking a half hour i hope people like this i thought there was gonna be some like something i don't know that was that was incredible thank you for that story um so anyways um michigan versus hawaii they are playing this week i mean yeah i don't even have like a breakdown i just think they're gonna fucking blow them out i mean what let's ask i'll ask you this what do you want to see all right what they're everyone wants to talk about kate versus jj yeah what can jj do that you're going to be like, all right, it's over? I mean, honestly, I think it's already over.

That's fine. Like, he did fine. Michigan won. Like, I even said it preseason. Like, Michigan's not going to win or lose these games that they play unless it's Ohio State, Michigan State, or any other bigger game. Like, these no-name games, like, Michigan's not going to win or lose because they're a quarterback.

True. That's what I'm saying. So, like, for Cade, like, let's say that's fucking – I mean, it's hard to even explain, like, who – Indiana or Purdue, like, a Big Ten team, i mean it's hard to even explain like who indiana or purdue like a big 10 team like you're gonna blow like you expect to blow them out but like you're not worried about kade performing to make that happen right i i so with michigan can do it without like elite qb play is what you're saying but they will need it for the team you know the big games and and for me

it's just entertainment like for me like what I want to see from JJ, I want to see him have, like, a Pat Mahomes, like, type day. Just fucking go nuts, roll out, throw the ball deep, just fucking flail it down there and, like, find a wide open receiver. From an entertainment perspective. That's what I'm saying. JJ is the guy, for sure. I want to be, like, at a Michigan game.

Like, I know when we were at the Michigan-Ohio State game and we were watching it, like, it was, like, crazy the whole time. But, like, still, it's like Michigan is, like, running the ball, pounding the ball. It was crazy the whole time, but still it was like Michigan is running the ball, pounding the ball. I mean, plenty of exciting plays, but nobody's waiting for the ball to drop on a 60-yard pass to see if the receiver is going to catch it, and then you just hear the crowd all at once go like, whoa. Something like that.

I think we said this on the last podcast i'm out what good does it do to you to just sit out so then you're not wasting an entire year because at this at this point he can still redshirt for this year or whatever like they would claim like he didn't play a full season yet he's got so much eligibility left dude he's 20 he's 22 it has two but also three more years of eligibility. If he loses his job now, he's not playing next year. I know, but it's still better for him to get the reps throughout the year. I think you talked this before, but it's still a toxic situation. I understand that, but guess what?

Put yourself in that situation. Here's the reality is, knock on wood, there's like a 50-50 chance that an injury happens to somebody. Jesus. You know? Speaking of that into existence i'm not don't tell me i'm gonna be the jinx here i'm gonna tell coach smith to listen to this one 3307 all right this is a good negative vibes i'm talking about no it's not i'm being real i'm being real there's been an injury to a QB almost every year. Yeah, I mean, it happens. So what happens if – God forbid.

Here's my point. What happens if J.J. tweaks an ankle at some point of the year or takes a hit? Like, if he – that's very real that J.J. could take a big hit. I don't know. And Cade would have to go in and at least do the – take a series. But then also, how toxic is that? You're a backup QB banking on a guy getting hurt so he can play? You're not banking on it, but I think that there's opportunities to play.

They're not going to have packages for Cade like they did for JJ. I agree with that. But there's also – JJ, we're going to bring you in the game so you can hand the ball off. There's no – here's the thing. You don't get any benefit at this point of the year from going and sitting at home and not playing football. You want film?

I mean, I'll tell you what, he won't be sitting at home. We all know how hard a worker Kate is. I mean, he's not going to be playing big competition. I don't know man if i'm just saying if it was me and you know maybe maybe maybe it is just me but i'm like just being in that toxic situation would just give me bad vibes i don't disagree with that it was giving me bad vibes so if he just wants to get out of the situation i could see that for sure like go do seven sevens i mean but i think that you can always do that if you want to play somewhere somewhere still like pretty good next year then you stay and again
