As always, it is Sunday, September 18th, after Michigan put the beat down on UConn yesterday. The strength of schedule, still not great. Still not great. Was UConn worse than Hawaii? Yes. I thought so, too. It was not great. Yeah yeah i don't know that that's yeah all bad teams all bad teams i mean i'll take it yeah yeah i'm all for it

said it before i'll say it again i mean the thing is too the thing is too like um yes were they like are these bad teams? For sure. But did Michigan do exactly what they're supposed to against bad teams? Also, yes. So you can't really hate on them too much because of that, right? Like, if Michigan would have struggled at all, then you can, like, talk about it.

But they did exactly what they were supposed to. So, you know, it is what it is. It'll be – we talked about this a lot last week or on the last podcast. But, like, I'm very excited to see what they'll do against Maryland now. Yeah, for sure. First Big Ten team. What's their record? Anybody know?

I don't think they're undefeated. They're undefeated? Yeah. Oh. I don't know who they played, though. Probably Sam and Zass. I mean, cool. It'll be a good-looking victory, I guess. I mean, assuming Michigan wins.

Yeah, we're just assuming that. Okay. Are you assuming that? I'm assuming that. I mean, I am assuming that, but I don't know. We'll take a look at it. I just don't want to say if Michigan wins. I felt like assuming sounded more confident.

When Michigan wins. I like that. But, I mean, Corum ties the record for five touchdowns with Haskins at the Ohio State game last year. Love that. First of all, any time that we can just think and talk about the Ohio State game last year, I'm in for sure. It's always great.

Always a great time. Great memories. And the funny thing is, though, like, it was a very similar performance, I thought. I mean, he didn't have nearly as many rushing yards as Haskins did, but, like, lots of one-yard rushes, rushing touchdowns like Haskins did. So, we will take it all day long, though. Yeah.

Anybody know what J.J.'s quarterback rating is right now? I don't know what the QBR was, but I know he was 15 for 18 and just, like, insanely efficient. Just, like, 120 or something? Well, I know there's, like, different, like, I don't know if, like, QBR is, like, there's one that goes up to, like, 150 or something, and then there's, like, another one maybe. I don't know.

Maybe they're all crazy. According to mgoblue.com, his rating is 234-21. Is that after yesterday still? That's insane. That's after yesterday. Yeah, that's like all that is piled in. He's 30 of 34 on the season. 88% completion percentage, 473 yards, three TDs.

I mean, just ridiculous. can i put my hand up i don't understand how qb rating works i don't know i don't understand how any rating works we're just talking about i don't understand how pff works dude like we find it to fit our narrative and then you know if it works it works if it doesn, it doesn't. QB ratings, like, obviously, I'm sure, like, it goes up when you play. Like, what is it out of? Is it out of 250? Is it, like.

Passing 41st at 266. Pass efficiency 12th and scoring first. Wow. All right, now say that again because I was too busy looking at that tweet. Oh, my God, no, absolutely not. For defense and national rankings, for total defense, we rank third. Rush defense, we rank 38th. Pass defense, third.

Passing efficiency, first, first and scoring fourth. So pass defense has been really good. I mean, again, what do these numbers mean against really bad teams? I don't know. I mean, honestly, I think our pass defense is good because our secondary has been so shut down, not necessarily because our pass rush has been like blowing up quarterbacks yeah i mean we had we had eight sacks in the first game right but

like since then we haven't really been able to get to the qb yeah and i don't know like you know like we're talking about these bad teams i don't know what to make of that quite as much like are they just like our secondary can deal with it so you know we won't send as much pressure or what i mean that's not going to work out well for us in the future yeah i know you can't just put all the pressure on your on your secondary but i i think that the secondary is probably better than we thought they were going to be um mikey is a dog dog literally he's the man who else

I think it was actually replaced um we were supposed to have ucla and then last week yeah we replaced him with oh last week that was the one that replaced it okay yeah um i don't know dude that would have been nice if we would have had ucla in the middle of those two that would have been nice. Even though I think UCLA stinks too. They either lost yesterday or like had a close one with somebody that was bad. They beat South Alabama at 32-31 yesterday. Oh, they were celebrating. Shout out to the newcomer in the Big Ten just beating South Alabama by a point. They should be great in the Big Ten. Love it. Meanwhile, Penn State just annihilated Auburn. Whoa. Yeah. I was not expecting that. No.

Loved seeing them do the SEC chant. Yeah, I love that too. Do we think Auburn's good? No. I mean, maybe not's good or like – No. I mean, maybe not. I don't – I have no fucking clue. Like I just assume they're good because they're Auburn. I assume so too.

I mean, I assume that they were better than getting beat down 41-12. Like, you know, so they're still, like, a good SEC program. I think Penn State's good, too, though. Yeah. Yeah, that made me way more nervous about Penn State, to be honest. I agree. I agree. The rest of the Big Ten, though, not nervous.

Like, outside of Michigan State will still be solid i think uh but outside of ohio state penn state um i mean minnesota is pretty solid but everyone else stunk it up yesterday um well wisconsin they dominated new mexico State. But let's see. Indiana won, like, on an overtime field goal or something. Maryland only beat SMU 34-27. They had to score 14 points in the fourth quarter. I don't like to sleep on SMU though. I like SMU.

I feel like they've always got a sneaky kind of App State type team. Possibly. Eastern Michigan beat Arizona State. Love that. Let's go. Nebraska is the worst program in America, I believe.

so yeah um not great but i i mean at this point um at this, it's like – it just feels like Michigan's got to get through, you know, some of these games. You got to win the Michigan State game, the Penn State game, and the Ohio State game. That's like – those are the ones that I'm looking at on the schedule. Yeah. They got to win them all, right? Everybody's going to want to come for us.

That's true. Yeah. Yeah, I don't want to – I don't want to say I'm overlooking. I know the team isn't, but, like, me looking as a fan. The other thing that I love about our schedule is, obviously, you have these three cupcakes. But then, like, against Maryland, you're going to test your defense really well, right?

And then against Iowa, you're going to test your defense really well, right? And then against Iowa, you're going to test your offense because their defense is really good. But they're very winnable games, so it's not like a test that you feel like you're going to trip up. So I'm excited to see what our defense does against Maryland. And then watching our offense in that Iowa game and seeing what JJ can do against a really legit defense, that'll be, like, really telling for what this team is about.

Well, yeah, because you – I mean, Matt weiss is literally untested um and so is minter like we haven't we don't know if they're good coaches yet or not really like you can assume but it's hard to say yeah we'll put them under the gun at game time and uh see what happens in Kinnick, right? Yeah. Oh, my God. God. Don't. Makes me nervous. Don't pick it up. Oh, geez. The good thing is they might not score a touchdown because their offense is so bad. That's a good point.

I'm very confident that we have four QBs on the roster that would start at Iowa right now. Oh, yeah, at least four. Tell me, I don't understand this. You've got an all-American defense, like number one or two defense in the nation, right? In the world of the transfer portal, how do you not say, we're putting all of our chips on the table to go get a QB?

Yeah, I mean, I don't disagree with you. I don't really know what to say about that, yeah. Kirk Ferentz, old school. He's like, what's the transfer quarterback? Transfer portal has to be this way out to Iowa. Kirk Ferentz is like, they can transfer? I don't even know. When did that rule come about?

It's like when we told Keegs that he could get paid through NIL. He was like, what? What do you mean? That dude. He got hurt, actually, too. We need to make sure that he's good man but uh javadi lyd looked pretty good too so yeah i mean he was a big time recruit remember him and jj were leading that class uh 2021 2020 something like that 2020 something like that. 2020, something like that. But they were like the first two commits, I think. Yeah, I remember that.

Yeah, I think our offensive line looked a lot better yesterday. It's just the Cade thing. It's weird, dude. So strange. He's cursed, dude. He's fucking cursed. I feel terrible. Somebody bewitched him, and he just can't. It's fucked up, man.
