Touchdown, Wolverines! All right, welcome back to Blue by 90. I am Justin, joined by Jack and Kaitlin as always. And we have our special recurring guest on with us, the one and only Dan Villari. Dan, how you doing? I'm doing well. How are you guys? Not too bad.

Things are good in Ann Arbor right now, huh? Yeah, things are sweet right now. I feel like you're saying that, like, with trying to be happy but not too arrogant or something like that. No, yeah. That's what, what like coach has been preaching like never get too high never get too low like trying to stay neutral so you know it's great but we gotta you know we gotta stay here for sure yeah i mean i like that i feel like you know it is so tough um obviously not to like get a big head or just like you things start working and then

like you start looking down the road a little bit and like it's easy to do that stuff so I think it is like obviously super important to uh to keep that and so it's I'm sure a lot of fans out there and listeners are happy to hear that coach is preaching that for sure yeah yeah a lot of coaches are so that's what we need that's what we gotta do awesome awesome all right well you are i mean you're straight off of uh of a big win in madison um specifically that game was just for from a fan perspective and obviously i mean we'll get into all of all the fun things we saw on Saturday but it looked like you guys had an absolute blast too um I mean how how was that road trip up to Madison oh it was unbelievable I didn't expect it to be that that crazy too like obviously we thought it was gonna be a close game but like just whooping them like that and then like the

celebration in the locker room was just unbelievable and that that scene where we started dancing like came out of nowhere it was hilarious i was i was wondering if that was kind of rehearsed if you guys were like you know we're up and and jump around comes on you're just gonna go nuts but you said it just kind of came out of nowhere yeah so like all we can practice like we play we play music like loud music to like replicate um stadium their stadium music and we were playing that song so we just heard it like every day all week and we're just like we were dancing to it in practice and like i it came on and like i just with my perspective is i i look

to my right and i see half the team jumping up and down and I'm just like, all right, all right. I'm going to grab a towel and I'm going to start dancing. And then everybody started doing it. Even my quarterback coach was going nuts. It was, it was hysterical. That's incredible. Oh my, you've always got the towel. So you had to have it handy. I grabbed one.

Yeah. I knew it was real. because I think I saw a clip of defensive line coach Nua going off as well. Oh, I'm sure he was going off. He was a fun guy. I don't think Coach Harbaugh was dancing, though. That would have been a good clip. I know, I know. That would have went viral.

For sure. He must have been the only guy on the sideline not dancing i think he said it in his press conference that he was just like he's like we're only up 10 what are we doing here we gotta finish this game up i don't even think about that we weren't even up a hell lot it seemed like it was like 30 at the time and then yeah and then from there like we just kept going it was like 30 at the time. And then from there, like we just kept going. It was great. Like you would think they would come back after we did something like that. I know. I know.

But I don't know if you saw the clip that we posted from the one angle that shows their bench and then you guys. And they're just standing around doing nothing while you guys are going nuts. So it felt like you like fully defeated them and they knew what was going on from that moment yeah they were they were done by that time I saw them too I don't even know how they would feel it kind of reminded me I think uh we had Joel Honigford on I think he was the one who said like we want to make the other team quit and it almost like felt

like that like you stole their like secret weapon literally we're gonna make the other team quit. And it almost, like, felt like that. Like, you stole their, like, secret weapon. Literally. We're going to make – coach says we're going to make their song our song before the game. Yeah. Love that. He's right, man. Yeah.

So, does Nebraska have a song? Do you guys know? Yeah, I think it's Thunderstruck. Okay. Okay. All right. Yeah, so we we gotta make their song our song i like it yeah i haven't even i don't even know i feel like i know that song but um i can't think of what it sounds like off the top of my head i'll pull it up we can we can have it right here

all right cool we gotta figure out a dance. Yeah, there you go. They've played it at home, like, when the pom-poms are going and people, like, you know, are rocking with it. Yeah, I heard it's a good atmosphere over there. For sure, for sure. I mean, just with, you know, with going on the road like you guys did, I feel like we haven't seen a Michigan team have that type of energy on the road before. It's, you know, it's almost felt like sometimes you guys felt like deer in headlights a little bit or something,

or maybe back on your heels when that punch was thrown. But on Saturday, it was like you took the punches, you roll with it, you fought right back. Was there something different that you guys like had for a vibe going into it or a mental attitude? Like, hey, we're going on the road here. We're you know, we're going to get it right now. Yeah, I think the biggest thing that we have in our heads before a game is just physically like dominating and I think that's what we did like we didn't have the best run game we usually do but like we we we rushed for what was it do you guys know I think it was like 130 I think it was over 100 some yards yeah and like Notre Dame rushed for four yards right like you know, like, you know, we did a lot better there.

Yeah, I just feel like everyone's just so bought in to going undefeated and, you know, taking it week by week. And I don't know. Yeah, I don't know what it is. Like, we just – you get, like, a few wins and, like, you're like, man, we can't stop now. Like, you get addicted to it. And, yeah, we just want to smash everybody in the mouth to be honest that's that's our uh that's our motto so so yeah everyone's really bought in i love it i

mean it it's it it's noticeable it's very noticeable for sure and um i think coach even talked about it in uh his radio show too where there are a couple things when you guys got home, too, like J.J. Donovan and Andrew Anthony went out and, like, they were, like, you know, running routes right off the bus, essentially. And then Aiden, I think after practice yesterday, was like, weight room, 10 minutes, let's go, right? And so tell us, I mean, what was the vibe like in the weight room? Were you guys going nuts there too?

Yeah. So I was actually right next to Aiden when he said that he was like, he was just like 10 minutes, everybody in the weight room. And I'm pretty sure. Yeah. Everyone was like, everyone hurried up and to put their squat shoes on. And we ran into the weight room. We were all on time. And, like, usually when we lift after practice, it's, like, it's very slow. Like, we start, like, 20 minutes later.

And all Aiden had to do was just rally the troops. And we all listened to him. And, you know, he's just, he's our leader. So we were like, you know, you damn right. We're going to be on time if he says that. So, yeah. That is, I mean, you could tell in the, in the video of you guys locker room in the post game, like he's just, he's that guy. And you can see the passion in his face.

Like it is so real and genuine from him um and i i i feel like i mean as a fan i'm ready to follow him to war so i can only imagine as the guy standing next to him you know as a teammate you guys are ready to do the same oh yeah yeah dude that talented and with that much like leadership like it's just so easy to just follow him and he actually said in the locker room before the game he said like we know we know they're gonna throw punches at us we're gonna fall but we're gonna fall down but we're gonna keep fucking hitting them in the face and that's exactly what we did like they scored on us. It's tight, tight game. And then we just kept, we kept rolling. So yeah, definitely a great leader on a team.

What was that? Did anybody have any sort of halftime speech? Cause I know going into the, going into halftime, Wisconsin scored, they had a nice little drive and, you know, they were receiving the ball in the second half. It felt like they had a little bit of the momentum, but they didn't score the rest of the game. Or they didn't score until the fourth quarter. Was there any sort of, like, speech from anybody, Harbaugh, Aiden,

anybody to get you guys going? I think Aiden said, again, like, we knew this was coming. We knew they were going to come at us. They're going to come back at us. They're going to be throwing punches. We got to keep throwing our punches. And he's like he's like with his fist he's like we're gonna keep fucking throwing our punches and and yeah that was the only really thing i remember and then we went over the game plan and everything and it was just like the most nonchalant like

halftime moment ever. Like, it was like, we were just like, we didn't need any talk. Like we were ready to go and we went out, we went out firing. So yeah, that, that is, I mean, it's, it's leadership to T, but it, like you said, it's like, I don't, I don't know what's happened here with this team. I think it's collectively been happening for, you know, since the summer, but it's like, you don't even need that external motivation as much as it is helping to get that speech and get that stuff.

Like you guys know what the job is, what needs to be done. Right. It seems like that's true. It's almost innate now. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. That's I mean, that's really cool. And, and I mean, you have Aiden as your leader on the defensive side of the ball. But Cade's been doing a great job on the, on the offensive side of the ball too. You know, I thought he took his punches as well. You know,

he got hit a couple of times, stepped into throws and, and made some plays. You know, he's not a, he stepped into throws and and made some uh plays you know he's not a he's not a mobile quarterback like you are I know uh he's no Taysom Hill but he he made some guys miss uh even in his own end zone making plays you know and so um you know I guess the question about Cade is in that quarterback room, are there things that he brings to the table that maybe a regular fan wouldn't see on a game day? Yeah, I think definitely for Cade. He has, like, that alpha male attitude. Like, if he walks into a room, he's, like, he's a great leader.

And he just has that, like, I don't know how to explain it, but he just has that personality where, like, he's going to lead and he's going to be bold and you're going to follow him or you're on your own. So he's definitely teaching me a lot of leadership, a lot of leadership advice. He's giving me leadership advice. And I think he's a great leader he's very he's very verbal um and he leads with action so i've got a question about i've got a question about kate too so we saw the frosted tips last year is he gonna bring that back

this season or uh i don't think i think that's out i think that's out i think i i think uh coach harbaugh didn't like that that was pretty epic when he took his helmet off i think that was was that the ruggers game that he came in for and then it was like oh my, my God, K. What a debut. Oh, holy shit. Now that we're on the topic of the quarterback room, how much shit did you give Allen for throwing the first pick of the year? I didn't want to give him any shit. I didn't want to give him any shit.

The quarterbacks, we were pissed, though, because we had a streak going. But I don't know at the end of the day it's whatever i wasn't giving them no shit on game day you would probably would have been pissed off let's say that's the nice thing like it would have been it would have been okay to kind of give them some shit because you guys won the game it didn't affect the game output but it's like that one when you see the stat come up it's like first like they haven't trailed and they've had what one or zero turnovers when they put that stat up instead of zero yeah right right yeah we wait a few days to rip on them yeah yeah that's gonna

be a thing you look back on maybe at the end of the year or maybe in a few weeks or something that you give him shit yeah but i know i was watching the game i'm like all right valari's in let's go wait all right he ran it which you did okay let's talk about your play as well okay the the handoff the fake to nobody is a big brain play like i mean that mean, that's just outsmarting the defense where they don't even know what's going on then for sure. Yeah, I mean, it's like – it's not really a fake to nobody, but like it's – we actually talked about that footwork and I think it's going to be changed. What was it – what's it supposed to be then?

Like, no, but like, that's what it's supposed to be. For real? Yeah. I'm not doing my own thing out there. I mean, it looks like a broken play and you forgot that Blake wasn't there or something. No, no, I get that. But that, but that, that's what I'm supposed to do on that play for a reason that, like, I'm not going to talk about. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, yeah, yeah, I kind of – yeah, I kind of should change that up maybe. Hey, hey, you made up for it by making two guys miss.

You put them on skates. You know, you got some yardage there you're still you know still no pass attempts on the on the uh on the year but no uh we know we gotta work on that we gotta work on that so i promise you guys we'll talk to coach when we see you drop back don't worry we'll be going crazy somewhere oh yeah for sure for sure um i mean and it just seems like your qb room now is like down i mean you've got alan you've got yourself you've got kade running you know kind of running the show still at number one and now jj's in the mix too um you know there's just so much talent there and so much going on. And it feels like you guys can utilize a lot of people there for,

to open things up. You know, what is JJ brought to the table now too with mobility and, and just, we talked about it on our episode going into the game, you know, maybe something like that needs to happen, whether it's you or JJ or Alan or somebody just for a spark or just for a different look or something like that. So, you know, what's going on with the QB room? And, I mean, are you guys excited about what the game plan is going forward? I know we're not trying to draw what you guys are, you know,

the game plan moving forward, but it's been fun to watch everything kind of piece together there too. Yeah, I'll tell you what, we're trying we're trying to be a legendary QB room. We call it we call ourselves the Supreme QBs. Love it. When you got the Supreme QBs. Perfect. Yeah, I mean, we got a lot of talent. We're trying to you know, we're trying to be remembered as a QB room team 142. I think it is uh yeah okay

yeah we're trying to we're trying to be remembered so uh yeah it's great seeing me alan jj contributing to cage so you know it's kind of a good deal it's a great deal it's a great deal for sure and i I mean, you, you guys have, we've talked about this before, but you have so many weapons too. You know, it's just like, it seems like right now it's been somebody different every week too. You know, Roman steps up this week and all of a sudden he's got two catches, you know, two catches and huge ones.

Cornelius is going up and getting balls and and things like that uh Daylon Baldwin has a deep ball you know obviously the running backs still were involved heavily um I mean do you guys feel like you you're confident in all facets of your game right now yeah for sure we have a lot of weapons and I feel like yeah like each game like one guy kind of shines and um the others are kind of quiet but like once like we're just going to keep getting better and better and I feel like once all these receivers start shining at once like it's going to be unbelievable it's going to be unstoppable so like you know AJ Henning for for example like he hasn't really uh he like hasn't had a a day like yeah a breakout game but like he's he's that dude like he will eventually so um so yeah I can't wait to see what those boys can do you're a uh a receiver that you have like a really good rapport with in practice?

Who's maybe like your favorite go-to? Nah. I mean, love all my receivers. That's a political answer. I like that. Yeah, yeah. Love all of them. Wasn't trying to put you on the spot.

No, you're good. You're good. I mean, the thing about that, though, is that it doesn't seem like anybody gives a shit who's the shining star of the day, right? Like, I feel like they're not even just on past Michigan teams, but just teams in general. There's always, you know, always somebody, right, who's like, I want the ball more, I want this.

And sometimes that's good to an extent, but it doesn't seem like there's anybody, especially on this offense, but on the team in general, that's like, hey, you know, I need the ball. It's like if my other guy goes and gets it, I'm pumped, you know, even more pumped for that guy. Yeah, and the receivers are really like that. Like they really are happy for the other man for scoring or, you know even more pump for that guy yeah and they the receivers are really like that like they really are happy for the other man for for scoring or you know having a nice catch and and yeah i forgot what i was about to say but uh but you just have a long day of school and

practice or something yeah actually my grandma just gave me a headache talking about that penne alle vodka. Do they have that at the restaurant you're going to? She was talking about baked clams. You guys call it calamari, but we call it galama. Okay. Galama. Chicken parm.

Yeah. Fried mozzarella. Mozzarella. Mozzarella. Yeah. She was talking about all of that so yeah so you guys okay but yeah I forgot I remember what I was going to say but yeah like

I feel like they don't they're not being selfish especially because like we're winning and like at the end of the day like you gotta understand that that's all that matters. So if we win, everyone's happy. For sure. For sure.

Yeah. Yeah. And so, you know, you're headed to Lincoln this weekend. You know, back-to-back road games. Nebraska has been on the rise, for sure. I think a lot of people that didn't think, you know, I watched them lose to Illinois the first game of the year and people thought they were going to be a very, a not good football team.

And now all of a sudden the past three, four weeks, they've been playing good football. And so if you guys talked about that, just like, you know, don't sleep on anybody, you know, we got to get up for every single game and that type of thing. Yeah, for sure. Definitely not sleeping on them. They're a great team. And we also feel like this is their like Super Bowl almost.

For sure. Like they're doing a night game, blackout, all that. And, I mean, they're like 2-2 right now. So I just feel like they're going to bring everything they got at us. So we just got to refresh, act like we're not undefeated, act like we're not who we are, and do our thing. Yeah. I'm excited for that stadium.

For sure. It's going to be hype. It's going to be hype. I saw tickets, like, tickets on Step Up, the lowest ticket is, like, $90 right now for that game. So, people are going to be pumped. They want to go to that. It's going to be full.

But, I mean, that's just, like, one more test, right? You know, I feel like you guys aren't backing down to any tests like that. I'm not backing down. Those dudes are big and physical. They're a great look for me, too, running the ball. For sure. Yeah. I mean, that D-line, that front seven, got after it on Saturday. Holy smokes. Six sacks.

They had – I mean, Dax was shot out of a cannon to take Mertz out, which I – you know, prayers out to Mertz. I hope he's okay and everything. But, man, they talk about physical. You talked about how you guys want to smash people. Like, they weren't messing around, that's for sure. Yeah, and it starts with those boys. Like, they're unbelievable.

So much talent in that room. The Reapers, I guess. They're the Reapers now. Yeah. LA. Yeah, we were going up against them in the summertime, and we're just like, all we kept saying was like, we can't wait for them to face another quarterback.

Like that quarterback is gonna, he's gonna cry. And that's all, that's what's been happening. Well, there was a picture that came out again. I hope Mertz is okay, but there was a picture that came out of Dax, like sit, sit, or sitting over him and Mertz is like, but there was a picture that came out of Dax, like, sitting over him, and Mertz is, like, crying, basically. And Dax is like, yeah, it was a pretty sweet picture. Yeah, that was awesome. All right, so, you know, obviously we're not looking past Nebraska at all, but, you know, then you're going into a bye week,

and then you're coming home you know for Northwestern I feel like you know the let's you know take it to Nebraska this week and then it's like it's almost another homecoming to this you know awesome crowd here at Michigan Stadium I feel like this this schedule is setting up really well for for you guys where you know it's going to be a fun time and a fun stretch in October here for sure oh for sure and they uh coach was saying like this Nebraska like a lot of teams um they don't play well on their game before the bye week because like you're just looking forward to that bye week yeah so he really emphasized like we gotta lock in this week and stay focused um treat it like it's not the bye week next week and then yeah we get those that bye week um and then we come play northwestern

back at home like i love being at home can't wait to go back there um and yeah yeah it is setting up pretty well for sure for sure i mean i'm i can't wait for that tailgate for uh for the october 23rd i believe it is um that's gonna be a fun one when we finally after three weeks get get to get back to it for sure uh some some much needed time off but yeah yeah gonna be back yeah i'm sure you guys Yeah. I'm sure you guys are, uh, I'm sure you guys are just hurting your livers out there. We are, we are, uh, the, the beer bong made a few too many appearances. Uh, that is for sure.

Oh yeah. Oh, that's fun. That's fun. Uh, so, I mean, talking about this, uh, the, the team in general still uh you know moving forward we talked about it a little bit earlier game at a time anything like that are there any other recurring themes that you guys are talking about that's you know just like hitting home for this team that's making you guys feel different than you have in the past uh i'd say it's just the two things i'm hearing a lot is just smash people in the mouth and and yeah just uh don't get too high on your horse like just uh be neutral yeah that's that's the two themes i'm really i'm really hearing right now um yeah that's it all right so you you go you smash them in the mouth you get on the bus

to the plane you come home what is your post game meal of choice. Post-game? Oh, we actually get Chick-fil-A on the bus ride home. Oh. To the plane. And listen to this. I gained about 80, like probably about 10 pounds on Saturday. We got Chick-fil-A on the bus ride to the plane. Then we get to the plane plane and there's five guys burgers waiting for us and i go on the plane i eat five guys burgers diet cokes like it's it was

disgusting but but it was so good like it was just we won i'm like yeah i'm gonna i'm gonna cheat my my little diet here yeah are the are the meals different if you get a w or not oh yeah and we have a victory meal on mondays it's like lobster and crabs oh it's pretty sweet okay they treat you right all right all right yeah that's well deserved for sure yeah for sure so are you hooking uh you're hooking the boys up with any uh it's just wings you guys don't have that connection yet with uh for the whole football team it no like pretty much like half the team is doing it so everyone's on that promotion right now everyone's on that wings grind so we're actually they they just told me that we're competing against Penn State.

I mean, not Penn State, sorry, Michigan State. Oh, okay. Like, because they're doing it too, and we're competing, like who can get the more likes or something when we post about it or more views or something. I don't know what it was exactly, but he said, whoever wins gets like a thousand wings, thousand free wings. So we're going against Michigan. We're going against Michigan state with the, with the wings promotion too.

Our fans got to help us out for sure for sure yeah um speaking of michigan state too again don't want to don't want to look too far down the road or anything like that but you know you guys have talked about implementing the ohio drill and what are you going to do to beat ohio state has there been anything for your other rival here with Michigan State as well?

Nothing crazy. It's really just Ohio we emphasize. And, I mean, yeah, that game is going to be – it's going to be a great game against MSU. Both may be undefeated. It's going to be some crowd. But, yeah, really just nothing really about Michigan State right now. We're just focusing on Nebraska. You know Mike Hart's just going to come out there swinging

with his old quote and everything. Yeah, do you know all about it with Coach Hart? Nah, I don't. Oh, all right, all right. What's his quote? So Coach Hart, back when he was playing here, first of all, he was 4-0 against them, and he was the man, obviously, when he was playing here.

He started off, I think, 2003 or – I can't remember. 2004 with seven straight 100-yard rushing games. Wow. Crazy, crazy. But so he – when they were – you you know when he was playing they dominated msu every single year like by there it was not even a competition and he went out in a post-game press conference and called them little brother he said they're like our little brother oh he started that that's where the little brother thing comes into play. And now, you know, MSU is like taking disrespect to it.

And that's kind of flipped and they've thrown it back in Michigan's face. And so now he's the one who started that whole thing. That's unbelievable. I had no idea. I've heard of little brother, obviously. I'm just thinking like the fans created it. But that's so funny. Coach Hart.

Oh, my God. That funny. Coach Hart. Yeah. Oh, my God. That man. You got to look up that clip. Look up Mike Hart, little brother, and you'll see the whole thing. It's great. I definitely will after this. I'm going to bring it up to him tomorrow.

So, another – I was going to say another away game coming up, the White on Blues for the wisconsin game those were nice fresh if you guys like those they're fresh oh yeah i had one of my buddies he didn't like him i'm like you're fucking get the fuck out of here i thought those i thought those were sick man those are sick switch it up a little bit uh-huh i don't i don't know the the uh attire of this game if that's what you're wondering but if they're if they're gonna stick oh no no yeah yeah maybe it'll be something good again

something i was gonna say if they're if they're gonna do a blackout maybe uh go opposite with the all wipes again do a whiteout yeah i would love that yeah there you go yeah i like just switching it up, you know. I like riding with something if it's working, obviously. But I just like – I feel like Michigan's been so traditional forever. Like, it's okay to have a couple different combos that work, right? I agree, yeah. And we all want that.

And I think Coach is starting to let us do that a little bit with the blue bottoms. Is he getting in finally? I think so. so seems like it seems like it yeah how much input do you guys really have on the uniforms yeah i mean i think i i bet the captains have some some input but like like i don't have any input on it like i don't even know but i'm sure it's i'm sure it's coach it's coach's decision and you probably ask like the captains what they think so when when do you realize or when do you know what you're wearing on saturday when

when you show up in your lockers all set for you no we realized like on thursday okay before the game we'll be wearing the same thing i practice same color pants gotcha yeah all right all right yeah i it's it's always funny because like people on social media it was you miss football will tweet something out with and everyone's like, but what pants are they wearing? What's going on? You guys get excited at that, I see, on Twitter. They're like, oh, yeah. It's confirmed Michigan's wearing this.

That's so funny. The people love it. The people love it.
