Touchdown, Wolverines!
Alright, welcome back to Blue and...
Jesus Christ.
That's a tough start.
Coming in hot.
That's what you got to do always.
I always got to be prepared to turn it down.
All right, welcome back to Blue by 90.
I'm Justin, joined by Jack and Kalen as always.
And we've got an OG guest for you tonight.
We've got Joel Honigford.
How you doing, man?
I'm doing good.
I'm in the studio this time.
In the studio.
Love it, love it. In person? I time that's right love it love it in person
i don't think we've recorded a pod in person no i don't think so you kind of forgot about me there
we did not forget about you get out of here um no we uh we had to get you back i mean
you were kind of becoming the star of the show i thought you were too big for us honestly
understandably so yeah, for sure.
We did only blow up after we had Joel on.
That is also true.
And it's a lot because of the flag flying right behind him.
The bump it up flag. That's beautiful.
We're going to have to get a picture of you next to that before we leave.
Well, so what have you been doing with the millions of dollars that you made off that flag?
Not much, to be honest with you. Got a hot and ready pizza. Well, so what have you been doing with the millions of dollars that you made off that?
Not much, to be honest with you.
Got a hot and ready pizza.
Hanging out, paying rent.
I mean, well, investing.
That's good.
That's very smart of you.
But, I mean, we had to get you on because I feel like this was like having you on our pod last year was like that was what made it take off we had to get one of the stars of this offense on
and so it's like it's been it's probably been what like 14 months since we first
had you on the pod yeah I think so something like that sounds right how's how's life different
uh not by much beat ohio state two times since that's pretty damn good pretty good living large
ever since we had you on the pod we are undefeated against ohio state this is true that is facts
absolute facts okay tell me the honest truth if when we were talking on
that first pod a year and a half ago would you ever thought that to be true uh probably honestly
thank you how tell me how positive vibes you're the most vibes. I'm not negative. It's just that it's like one of the biggest accomplishments
of what you guys have been able to do.
Yeah, well, like you could tell that like something was different.
You know what I'm saying?
Something was different inside of Michigan football.
And so I guess that's kind of what I'm backing off of.
You know, I just felt different to my previous four years.
Just a little bit. different to my previous four years. It was just a little bit.
Compared to my last two, so.
Your first three freshman years.
Yeah, literally.
Oh, God.
Okay, dive deeper into what was different, though.
Because we've, I mean, we've talked about it, right? We talked about last year, like, the culture was different.
The energy was different.
We, like, almost made fun of ourselves because all we talked about was like the energy
the energy like all that stuff but it you could feel it like through the tv even so like from you
what's that you know what really was different from a day-to-day basis when you're going into
show uh i think we just got rid of like all the complainers, all the dudes who were complaining
about being there for the amount of time that we have to.
We got rid of those guys, and it just
started to fill up with dudes who actually just
love to play football and then love to play for each other.
It stopped being the offense and the defense against each other
rather than just now it's a whole team.
That was, like, the biggest difference you could tell.
It was, like, everyone was, like, there together.
And it was sick.
I'm not going to lie.
And that trickles down from somewhere.
I mean, who kind of, like, led that to make that happen?
I don't really know if you could put it on, like, one person.
I mean, like, Aiden Hutchinson was, like, an easy guy to follow.
Yeah.
But I think it was, like, just a little bit of everybody kind of buying into it
and then feeding it off to everybody else.
And if you weren't about it, then it was going to show.
Did you think Coach Harbaugh was different about the way he presented himself?
No.
To be honest with you, that guy has been the same guy for all six of my seasons here.
He has been the same exact person.
I love that.
We try to get that out of people, and everybody's like, no, he's literally exactly the same.
Well, I mean, but you – I don't know.
You see a different him, like, at the podium.
Obviously, after a win, like, it's going to be different.
Or when you're 12-0, it's very different from when you're 2-4, right?
Yeah.
How you talk to the media and stuff like that but i don't know i just like a lot of people
were like what changed what you know what did he change blah blah i i will maybe if he didn't
change like the assistant coaches the new guys that came in where they brought a different energy, right? Yeah, 100%. I mean, he definitely brought in, like, the best people that I've been around,
like the best staff I've been around.
Like, I've been around a lot of different coaches at Michigan.
And you could tell hands down that, like, they enjoy being with each other,
which is huge because if they love it
then it's fun for them it's fun for us and it kind of just like spreads throughout the whole facility
and even like with the changes that we had this year it was like right on par with that
dude this is so crazy like pop quiz almost like could you name all the ocs since you've been here oh that's actually
great so i think my freshman year i don't believe we had had one specific oc i think our run game
coordinator was tim drevno and the past game coordinator this feels like a lifetime was uh
pep hamilton brady hoke was the head coach when you were here. Almost.
You guys won the Sugar Bowl.
You're friends with your head coach here.
You've been here for almost every Jim Harbaugh year, right?
Besides two?
Yeah, besides two.
Wow.
You've only known Harbaugh with glasses.
Ooh.
Is that true?
Probably.
He did throw on the glasses.
Fun fact.
Yeah.
Sorry, keep going.
Yeah.
Drive-no Pep Hamilton. And then it was just Pep Hamilton,
and then Gattis.
I think, yeah, Gattis three years.
Three years.
Yeah, okay.
Yeah, and then Coach Weiss and Coach Moore this year.
That's crazy.
Who's your favorite coach?
That is an unfair question.
Coach Moore, got to be, right?
Well, I mean, and if I don't say Grant Newsome, my tight ends coach,
then you won't even see me on Saturday.
Who's your favorite coach slash former teammate?
Grant Newsome.
Grant Newsome, there you go.
Do you call him Coach Newsome?
No, I call him Grant.
I've known him as Grant for five years. Grant Newsom. Grant Newsom. There you go. All right. Do you call him Coach Newsom? No, I call him Grant. Okay.
I've known him as Grant for five years.
And so I asked him, I was like, hey, you want me to call you Coach Newsom?
He was like, I'll be respectful.
Like, you're my coach now.
He was like, no, you can just call me Grant.
I was like, okay.
I'll just call you.
I'm glad we can agree.
Get on the line um yeah I mean there has
been like I guess for you you should like write a book on like there were the changes from when
you came in to because like thinking about like what you said with complainers and the culture
and obviously not winning as many games as you wanted
to and like now where it's like Schembechler Hall seems like it's the most fun place in the world
it is it's sick it is so sick to go in there like I mean it's easy to go in when you're winning
but like like I said like the people like they just make it fun like everyone has a good time like we're joking around and stuff like there's obviously the time to get serious
but no it's a lot of fun people and like it's a lot of laughing too which is fun like it lightens
the mood a little bit football is a little bit more fun to play so i know ro will never let this
happen but based on what you just said sounds like they got some pretty positive vibes there.
I love it.
So when are you just going to let Jack walk in and do his thing,
just emitting positive vibes?
I'll be like the mascot.
Like Blue Mountain State.
I'll be like, fuck it.
There you go.
What was that guy's name?
Yeah, what was his name?
I don't remember his name.
He doesn't need a name.
Turner or something.
Something like that.
I'm also looking at this cabinet or whatever, and I'm just waiting for you to bash your head on it.
So close.
I'm going to be dripping down the back of your neck.
Got a broken ankle.
Head's broken.
Yeah, I mean, we will need to get you in there.
Absolutely.
I know.
I was even trying to help you out with that Wolverine Plusine plus stuff and you're like yeah dude i don't think
you're allowed it can't leave you in too too many positive vibes you're gonna set you're gonna set
the whole thing on fire oh fuck oh god uh but yeah like the difference between then and now is just it's crazy um but i think
from an outside perspective like the cool thing is that we can tell too
fans can tell 100 and it's i you know the one thing that i really have like us getting to know
a bunch of guys on this team my dad says it every time that either, like, I'm Wolverine Plus or doing this.
He's like, man, that guy's so nice.
And I'm like, literally everybody is nice.
They're all normal dudes.
But it's like usually you come across a couple dickheads, right?
Yeah.
Which was a couple years ago, right?
Yeah.
But, like, there aren't dickheads in that building.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's a lot of dudes who, if Yeah. But, like, there aren't dickheads in that building. Yeah.
Yeah, it's a lot of dudes who, if that does happen,
like, if someone's acting a little out of hand,
like, they will be corrected on it. Really?
Yeah, I swear.
I swear.
The other day, Matt Hibner in meetings asked Grant
to go back a few slides and look at a play.
And he was like, hey, can you go back a few slides?
And I looked at him and said, please.
He was like, please, can you go back?
I was like, you need to check your manners.
That's amazing.
I love it.
You've become a dad.
Yeah, I mean.
If somebody asks, like, hey, coach, can I go to the bathroom?
Or you're like, may I go to the bathroom?
Yeah. Yeah. We have, like, a, coach, can I go to the bathroom? You're like, may I go to the bathroom? Yeah.
We have, like, a sign on the door that says it.
It's incredible.
Side note, I sat next to the Hibners, his family,
and I spilled beer all over his dad on Saturday.
What did he do?
Oh, he was, like, hugging me anyways because it was when Dono had just scored.
Oh, yeah.
Like, everyone went nuts, and I was, like, climbing on everybody.
And he, like, I squashed his beer and, like, spilled mine on him.
He turned around, and he's like, and I was like, oh, shit, I'm so sorry.
He's like, I don't even care.
So how much money in spilled beer was that, like $30?
I spent probably $150 in beer in the stadium on saturday no joke i came back every time i went to the bathroom
where there was like a break i would just go get like four more beers and bring them back any
engling did they have the engling no they didn't they just i think it was just like miller light
and coors um i was just handing them out to anybody in the Michigan section
like I was a billionaire.
That's perfect.
I didn't have a kid.
I'm Justin Rowe.
No, I did not have.
Blue by 90.
Yeah, I was literally like, go subscribe, follow, subscribe.
Fun fact, do you know that Matt Hibner's dad is a colonel?
He, okay, so when I grabbed his shoulder and arm to be like, I'm so sorry,
he was the most jacked person of all time.
He's a colonel in the Army?
Yeah, I believe he's retired now.
So I don't know what his retired.
Was it Army, Navy, do you know?
I believe it was Army.
Army.
Yeah.
He was so ripped, and like oh shit yeah i think
i just fucked up but then he turned around they were like the nicest family actually yeah
so that was hilarious um which all right good segue saturday was like Anyway, Saturday was, like, un-fucking-believable. Yeah, it was nuts.
Oh, my God.
Which one would you take, 21 or 22?
See, I don't know.
You're an Ohio guy, right?
I am.
So it must have felt fucking sweet.
There was a lot of people I knew at that game.
Really?
There was a lot of people.
And it was – see, 21 is, like, super sweet because it's the first one right like we're
finally back on top magical but 22 we go into their place and we do that i don't know you know
what i'm saying like they're both special in their own ways um it's like a 1a 1b yeah yeah it is but
it was pretty sweet.
Like I said, there was a lot of people I knew at that game,
and they were not rooting for Michigan.
Really?
Yeah.
I mean, my family was.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But, like, people I knew, like, from growing up.
They wouldn't even, like, rock a Joel jersey with Michigan?
No.
No.
Damn.
Like, I put it on my story, a picture of me like right uh with the score in the background and i said uh thanks for sending me out the right way ohio and i got a lot of
responses to that that weren't very friendly they were not very positive not positive vibes only
and i was pretty pretty excited about that i, there's no better feeling, right?
Oh.
No, not at all.
Yeah.
Yeah, it was also you kissed the O.
I did kiss the O.
Love that.
Yeah.
Love that.
I got a lot of turf on my mouth.
Oh, fuck it.
I was not ready for that.
I was like, oh.
Why did I do this?
I loved that.
Where from Ohio are you from again?
It's called Sugar Creek, Ohio.
So, like, Canton, Ohio, the Football Hall of Fame.
Yep.
30 minutes south.
Gotcha.
Right in the heart of Amish country.
Amish country.
I'm not Amish.
All right, all right.
You got the hair.
I don't have the beard.
I don't have the beard.
Oh, okay.
You need some mutton chops or something.
Some mutton chops.
No, I will say, like, being at – obviously, I didn't play in both games,
so I'm not going to put myself there.
But being at both games, like, last year,
it felt like it was just this, like, celebration of life.
Like, it was like nothing could stop us.
Like, it was the greatest thing was the greatest talking about after the
game or during the game both because during the game you were very nervous oh obviously because
i was just like in my head i was just like all right when does it turn like i'm just like waiting
you know it's like that's how it's been beaten down for years yeah it's just like i'm just like
they and they also like their offense can score at any point you know so i's just like, I'm just like, and they also, like, their offense can score at any point, you know.
So I was just like, fuck, when's it going to happen?
When's it going to happen?
And they just never did.
And so it was just like the best day.
Or Saturday was just like putting your foot on their neck
and they couldn't breathe.
Like right in their own house.
Yeah.
It felt like it was a much more like satisfying like all right we're really here
this is for real yeah like it wasn't a one-time thing yeah uh the the environment there like
like i'll say it was pretty underwhelming and i think the reason because of that is because like
it would never like they didn't get the opportunity to like show their environment the whole game yeah
like the first half like it got loud at points um but like nebraska last year was nuts like you
could not hear anything but it wasn't like that on saturday right and then i mean we just throttled
them and then they all left they did leave early they all left very early and then
they left they they got so silent and we were going ballistic yeah our section and i like for
the whole second half like our little michigan section was louder than the rest of the stadium
oh yeah awesome yeah it was nuts were you like down by the field in that little section yeah
right next to the left from your perspective
to the right of the band yeah yeah it was incredible um and also like i've been so i've
been to the shoe i was there in 16 i was there in 18 i've had terrible walks back to the truck
with my head down and people saying fuck you you suck That was one of the most satisfying walks back
where I could just head up, smile.
It was incredible.
Yeah, I can't wait to go home.
It's going to be unbelievable.
I'm not really one to wear a whole bunch of Michigan clothes
when I go home,
but you can bet your bottom dollar it will be.
I love that.
No doubt about that.
You got all the bragging rights now.
Yeah.
There's nothing to say.
They have nothing.
They have absolutely nothing. Yeah.
Absolutely nothing.
And the best part, too, is, like, they're so worried for the future.
Yeah, they are.
So worried.
They're trying to get their coach fired.
Dude.
It's insane.
He's lost two games.
He could still make it to the college football playoff.
And they're like, we're out.
We don't even want to go.
Got to go.
Hey.
Whatever, dude.
Whatever.
Talk about tough.
Talk about tough because it's, I think,
one of the coolest things that you guys have been able to do.
You and Adam Shively, Jeff Spate, right, all you guys.
Tell us more about what you got going at tough.
So it's a 501c3 nonprofit and we provide uniforms, equipment, and mentorship to youth athletes and underserved communities.
We've served over 4,100 kids to date.
We started in 2018. Adam Shibley started it.
The first person to actually hop on with him was Quiddy Pei.
And then I followed, Jess followed.
And we also have Jake Thaw, who's on the team.
He's part of TUF.
And, yeah, so we will look for teams that have old uniforms, old equipment,
and we'll provide them with new ones.
We also will get donors that say, hey,
I want you to go to the south side of Chicago
and donate to some youth teams.
John Zierin is a huge, huge donor for us.
And we've been to the South Side of Chicago twice now.
It's unbelievable.
The people are great out there.
It's an unbelievable experience.
And a lot of people don't get that experience.
I went to Flint, Michigan this summer, me, Jake Thaw.
And then we'll try to bring another athlete
to speak to the kids.
So we took Mike Morris, and he spoke to them.
And it's a very eye-opening experience.
Really good people.
We worked with Marcus Mariota's foundation, the Motivate
Foundation.
We went out to Hawaii. That looked ridiculous. It was nuts. It was nuts. We worked with Marcus Mariota's foundation, the Motivate Foundation.
We went out to Hawaii.
That looked ridiculous.
It was nuts.
It was nuts.
And we donated to two programs, four teams total.
So, yeah, we've kind of donated all over.
We sent soccer uniforms to a program in Liberia, Africa.
And we've kind of been all over, and we're really growing now. Just come off of our biggest year.
And yeah, I think one of the biggest things about us
is all, like 100% of the donations,
they go right back to the kids.
We don't keep any of that for ourselves.
And we've been fortunate enough to do that.
But, yeah, it's been super cool.
And, like, we all kind of, you know, we wanted to give back.
But with, like, the schedule that we have, it's, like, so hard to find time with, like, other people scheduling it.
And you have to try to fit in
right and adam shibley like he was like well i really like designing uniforms growing up like
why don't i just do this for kids and we'll get them new uniforms and so we've been doing it for
four years now and plan to keep going so are people like, do you guys do all the, I guess,
hunting to find the teams that need new uniforms?
Are people able to apply?
Yeah, so there's three different ways.
We will look for teams.
We'll have donors that will be like, hey, I want to do this team.
And then we also have an application process for teams to apply and then we
select them that way too which is on our website and it's not strictly football
right because you said you've donated to a soccer team yeah did you guys have
like baseball teams like anything else to like kind of any team that needs
uniforms you guys will help out yes so we've done flag football regular youth
football we've done high school football team we've done flag football, regular youth football.
We've done high school football team.
We've done cheerleading, soccer, men's and women's basketball.
And then we're looking at doing a lacrosse team right now.
So it's kind of, you know, it's based on needs. So if you need it, we'll make it happen.
That's awesome.
What's the website?
You can go to www.gettough.org.
Love it.
Love it.
I think, I mean, first of all, very cool.
That's incredible that you guys have been able to build that up.
I think the 100% thing is sweet because usually there's, like, you know,
a function of a nonprofit,
like there's back-end stuff, right?
Or there's different, like, things that people are trying to do with their nonprofit.
But that means, like, you're really – you're just focused on giving back.
Yeah.
Which is awesome.
I wanted to talk about, though, like how in the world of NIL,
it seems that Michigan football players
have more charities doing more community service work than ever.
You see what JJ is doing with his foundation for the kids.
You see Blake on one knee going to give out turkeys.
I think that says more to me about who you guys are
as a team than anything else.
Yeah, I mean, it's a huge testament to the guys.
Like I said, it's a bunch of good dudes.
And like the reality of the situation
is like we're playing a game at the end of the day.
And we have this like unbelievable platform.
Like, I can imagine myself being a little kid getting to meet a Division
I football player. I would be freaking out. We're at that point. We're here. Let's use that. Let's
leverage it to bring other people along. We had in these communities where there's a lot of street
violence and things pulling them down the wrong path, where, like, sports is a huge outlet for that.
And sometimes, like, they can't play sports because of participation fees.
So, like, part of the deal is with us, like, hey, we'll donate this.
But, like, in return, you need to take your participation fees down because, like, you're not going to have to pay for these new uniforms now.
We'll give them to you.
So lower the fees, more kids can play.
That's awesome.
Get out of bad situations.
Not be on the streets kind of deal.
Exactly, yeah.
So you're funding whole leagues.
Okay.
That's awesome.
So we've done some full leagues,
and then we will choose teams teams in leagues and and go
back to those leagues um it just kind of depends like like i said uh on who we find that's awesome
awesome very cool very cool yeah i mean it's i think what you said too where like like who who
starts this while they're still in school right and, who has the time to do that type of stuff?
I think that part to me is the coolest part where it's like –
Well, and it was before NIL.
Yeah, right?
That's crazy.
Yeah.
That's interesting.
Yeah, Adam Shibley is an unreal dude.
He's, like, one of the best people I know.
Yeah.
I was able to talk to him the other day and just really nice guy.
Yeah.
And he's also super driven and passionate yeah and
successful in his own right in his own career too yeah um so yeah former michigan guy right yeah um
it's awesome what you guys have been able to do there um i mean i know we've been talking about
doing something for you guys partnering up getting some stuff in the shop or whatever
um putting some stuff out so we want to keep trying that for you guys partnering up getting some stuff in the shop or whatever um putting some stuff out so we want to keep trying that for you guys to yeah raise some funds for you so
well we'll be we'll be working on that um all right going back i can't stop talking about the
ohio state game so i don't know if you're i hope you're not sick i'm not you'll never be sick. Yeah, no. You're down at halftime.
What was it like in the locker room?
Because I – it didn't feel like – I, like, didn't realize that we were down.
Yeah.
Is that kind of how you guys felt?
Yeah. Yeah, and we also, like, recognized, like, how, like, in our eyes,
like, inefficient we played. And we're like, listen, like, we just did inefficient we played and we're like listen
like we just did that and like we're down by three so let's tighten it down a little bit and
like let's just play how we play and like let's adjust the scheme a little bit and let's go out
there and let's see what happens like I don't know if they're gonna be able to hold up to it and they didn't yeah I didn't
feel like at least as a fan I never felt like we were way down or way behind yeah it felt like a
heavyweight fight like one guy throws a punch then the other guy throws a punch and I was like
we're right there yeah the thing was like we knew what we could do we just weren't able to do it yet and so that's like at halftime it was like
let's go like let's unleash now like let's get out of halftime let's hop off the stool punch
him in the face and let's roll love that and punch them you did okay yeah quite a few times
quite a few times um and they what was it like in the trenches too were they were they chirping yeah they were
they were well they were at first you know and like rightfully so it's a big game yeah
um i think it was easy to see um that we handled that a little bit better than they did. We were pretty composed with it.
The, like, Yabi not getting back in that deuce face.
Yeah.
I think people don't understand how much restraint you have to have
in order not to, like, hit a deuce back.
Seriously.
And, like, with Rod Moore getting headbutted on the sideline.
Was that the second personal foul? I think that was the first one that was the
first that was the one because they had a holding and then the personal foul yep and that that
player was that one i thought there was one that like happened off camera kind of in the game we
couldn't really tell what the second personal foul was but anyways um yeah but like they they definitely seemed like honestly
undisciplined and you guys seemed like the most composed there was an incredible moment with uh
i think it was like jj's longer run and he kind of like you saw some guys john and he grabbed one
of our guys and he was like hey we got a game to play. Yeah. Like, that shows some leadership. That's cool. Like, I mean, obviously you can't see it now.
But, like, for example, look at, like, a punt return.
Say their guy, like, gets tackled maybe for, like, a two-yard gain on a punt return.
You won't see anybody else on their team go pick him up.
Really?
Yeah, you won't.
And, like, you watch us.
Oh, everybody's over there.
There will be every guy around and picking them up.
Yeah.
And that's something we knew.
Like, we really do play as a team.
Yeah.
Like, we really do care about each other and want to win for each other.
And it's not forced.
No, no, no.
Sometimes some of those types of things are, like, your coach makes you, right?
Or, like, you know, the kickoff team runs through the end zone, right? Yeah. And it's, like, those types of things are like your coach makes you, right? Or like, you know, the kickoff team runs through the end zone, right?
And it's like those types of things.
But you can tell when it's like guys are just like barely getting to the end zone line
and they're just doing it because the coach told them.
Yeah.
But you guys like you want to go pick your guy up.
Yeah.
No, definitely.
Yeah, we all really care about each other and it's it's definitely like uh
it's not something that you like deliberately think about to go do it just it just happens like
if my running back is in front of me and he's all alone like i am going to chase him yeah because
like one i'm going to pick him up if he gets tackled two like if he would happen to lose the ball
like i need to be there right so i can grab it and everybody does it are you like running full
speed behind them are you like kind of concerned that like shit like i might look slow on tape
maybe i'll try to look like i'm running a little bit slower normally don't realize how that i'm
not as fast as him well for example with blake with Blake, like, this guy is, like, zigzagging all over the field.
You're like, I'm just going to go straight line.
So I'm like – I'm, you know, kind of jogging.
And then he takes off.
I'm like, all right, let's go.
Unhitch the trailer.
And I'm like, I'm trying to go.
And he's, like, pulling away from me.
I'm like, yeah, that's right.
Okay.
You're like Demetri Young flipping your helmet off and fucking taking off.
Who do you think is faster, Blake going side to side or you just straight?
Probably Blake.
I mean, I'm trying.
Also, dude, Dono, when he put the burners on, did you guys watch the film back, I'm assuming?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
When he put the burners on, it was like, holy shit.
He's so fast. It's insane
It's nuts. I was telling Kalen like I would love to just like like I think he should set up
like an OnlyFans and put a
Camera just like on him like side like profile view and he's just running on the treadmill He's paid a lot. Yeah. I pay. I pay $20 a month.
Smooth, man.
He looks so smooth. He's just so smooth.
It's nuts.
And then he's just like reading a book out loud while he's doing it.
That'd be incredible.
I'd love it.
That would be amazing.
I feel like motivational quotes.
That's more than speed.
Yeah.
Like David Goggins or something.
Yeah.
I can actually see him.
They don't know me, son.
That sounds like him. Oh, yeah. me, son. That sounds like him.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, fuck.
All right.
Oh, my God.
Have they, like, raced, do you know, Blake and Dono?
Probably in the summer at, like, workouts because we run by position group.
But I don't know if I ever really noticed it, to be honest with you.
They'll never reveal the winner. Well, you're probably just focusing on like not dying yeah i'm just trying not to be
last who's the fastest lineman or fastest tight end fastest tight end um it's you it's you isn't
it no but i will say i'm not the slowest that's cute and i refuse to reveal who is the slowest
that's okay that's very polite it's not b Is it Brady? Very polite. It's not Brady.
It's not Brady.
And Brady is technically a fullback also.
Brady's actually pretty fast.
I'm not going to lie to you.
He's smooth, dude.
He's pretty quick.
He doesn't look like he can move because he just got the neck.
Oh, yeah.
No, he can.
He can move.
Fastest tight end, Marlon Klein is incredibly fast.
He's going to be good, too.
He's a freshman as well.
Him and Colston, and then if Eric comes back,
obviously we're losing the best tight end,
but that tight end room next year is going to be pretty damn good.
Yeah.
Scooney's also really fast, too.
Scooney is pretty fast.
People, like, I don't think people understand how good Scooney is.
He's a freak. Yeah. is people like i don't think people understand how good scooty is he's freak yeah like i think just because like eric was like you know the star last year a little bit i think people forgot that
like if if eric hall wasn't there like this year like scoot maker is a very good tight end yeah
um i think so i think they both got honorable mention Big Ten last year.
And, like, if one of those guys, like, is just, like, the main tight end
and the other one's not there.
Oh, yeah, their first team.
Their first team.
1000%.
Yeah.
1000%.
It's nuts.
I can't believe Mikey Samuels still wasn't first team.
Biggest snub.
Yeah.
Defenders.
Some of that stuff gets political.
It's crazy.
It's bullshit.
His pass breakup in the end zone, it might be one of my favorite plays of the entire year.
He came across the whole fucking field.
It's nuts.
It was insane.
So from our perspective on the other end zone in the corner, I was like, oh my God.
Because all I could see was the tight end, right?
And it looked like he was wide open, which he was.
Yeah.
And then, Mikey, it just looks like he comes out of absolutely nowhere.
And just, bink, right out of his hand.
And played it perfectly.
Couldn't have played the ball more perfectly.
Yeah.
Love it.
Love it.
Talk about the defense.
This defense is ridiculous.
Our defense?
Yes.
Yeah, it's nuts.
You're like, Purdue?
Every Tuesday, I get graced with a one-on-one block against Chris Jenkins.
And I will say, that is my least favorite part of the game.
He's nuts.
Chris Jenkins is a freak of nature.
How old is he?
Is he junior?
I think so.
Sophomore?
Junior.
No, I think he's junior.
Okay.
Yeah.
So that is nuts.
But he's also, like, Chris Jenkins doesn't get talked about enough.
Yeah.
I mean, there's so many people talking about him in the defense.
They're so good.
Yeah.
They're so good.
Yeah, I mean, obviously I deal with the front seven the most.
It's unfortunate.
It is unfortunate.
But it's also very fortunate.
Talk about Mozzie.
Mozzie?
I don't really have to go against him that much.
He's the strongest human being of all time. That's kind of a good thing yeah yeah he's a freak the number one freaking
college footballer yeah exactly yeah that's a fact actually yeah um the who was it that told us
um i think i can't remember who said it but he benches 325 all right for 22 bucks yeah not 225 yeah they made him stop
i'm serious they he was repping it out and they're like all right that's
that's good too much i need you to be good to be able to play this weekend yeah
so yeah who knows what a ceiling is yeah we had some article at the beginning of the season when
we were talking about mozzie smith
biggest freak in college football and uh he was doing some sort of like rowing kind of machine
oh yeah combo twist yeah and like they were like we need to add more weight but the like
the pin is not long enough there's extensions so we had to order extensions so mozzie could do them
they were like custom manufactured. No way.
So they could hold more weight.
Did you design it?
Just for him.
I did not design it.
Damn.
Should have designed it.
That would have been dope.
They didn't go to me, though.
Yeah.
I can't remember who.
Somebody talked about it on Wolverine Plus.
Oh, Caden Colesar talked about the Harbaugh story the other day
about the treehouse. No other day about the treehouse.
Oh, the treehouse.
That's a classic.
That's a classic.
The infamous treehouse.
The infamous treehouse.
Sorry, Jess.
That might have been Jess's worst day of his life.
Oh, my goodness.
Yeah.
Whoops.
My favorite part, too, is you were just sitting there the whole day.
I was working.
I was working all summer.
Working in town.
That's true.
Had those online classes, man.
It was tough work.
Working.
All right.
We're ring chasing.
We're ring chasing now.
How, like, I always wonder this,
and I think it was the exact same scenario last year as well
you have like the ultimate high of beating Ohio State like it's hard to get higher than that
and then you immediately have to come back and play for a big 10 championship like how do you
keep on the straight and narrow there yeah uh. I mean, like Monday, we obviously watched the game film as, like, a unit
and your position groups.
And we definitely still were very high on it Monday.
I mean, how could you not be?
It's the first time.
Wait, actually, sorry, I'm going to interrupt you because I want to hear
what the Monday meeting was like, what coach harbaugh was like honestly there wasn't like anything like super like spectacular
that happened it was like a pretty long meeting um like as a team but he was pretty much just
shouting everybody out just like everyone gets love Positive vibes. Yeah, it was unbelievable. And, yeah, so Monday, review the film,
and then we go out in the field for a walkthrough,
and that's when we start Purdue.
And we had kind of gone – we also do, like, a scouting report on Purdue too.
And so, like, I'll be completely honest.
Like, right when we hit that scouting report, like, I was, like, 100% locked.
Really?
Like, I was not even thinking about it.
I promise you I'm not lying.
Like, did you, like, make a focus to do that?
Or was it just, like, it just clicked?
Like, this is what we do.
Yeah, because, I mean, like, just, like, the turnover, like,
from the game to the next week is so fast.
Yeah, right.
And we had just done it, what, 11 other times?
Right.
And so, and we had, like, the Penn State win was huge.
Yeah.
And we could have, like, stuck on that and, like, hey,
we just whooped Penn State.
But, you know, we just kept going.
And, I mean, I guess that's like instilled in our team.
I don't know.
It hasn't been talked about since.
That's crazy.
I'm curious about the game plan.
So, there's a big trick play last year with Donovan throwing a touchdown to Roman.
Yeah.
How many trick plays do you guys have this year? Set up.
Over, under, one and a half.
Honestly, it could be more than that, and it also could be less.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I'm betting the over.
I'm betting the over on that. But you will not be seeing me at quarterback.
Are you going to be throwing it?
You will not be seeing me at quarterback.
That's my next question.
So you're going to be catching it.
Okay.
Okay.
Yeah.
I thought for sure you were Dono's backup for that, since Dono can't throw it. Okay. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I thought for sure you were Dono's backup for that since Dono, you know, can't throw it as well.
Or here you go.
It's going to be you.
JJ, read option to Joel.
Oh.
Joel's running.
I like that.
They're not going to expect it.
They would never expect it.
I'm not going to expect it.
You do.
You do.
I'm not going to expect it.
Everybody's going to be fooled.
I can only imagine your eyeballs when you like what the
what do you talk about
sure this is personal
I do think we got a I mean this is the perfect week to get you a pass it's the perfect week
every week's perfect week or a fullback dive oh fullback dive like a cleat hill
hammering panda yeah that could be what would be could be. What would your nickname be if you were a fullback?
Soul Train.
You were ready.
I was ready.
How are you not a fullback?
Is that your nickname?
Self-reclaimed, maybe.
It's beautiful.
That's from youth baseball.
We put nicknames on the back of the jerseys instead of last names.
I love this.
So did you come up with Soul Train? Did somebody call you Soul Train?
My friend's dad called me Soul Train. That's the best. I love this. So did you come up with Soul Train? My friend's dad called me Soul Train.
That's the best. It was nuts.
Your friend's dad is the coolest
person of all time.
Was there a story behind it?
It just felt right in the moment.
No, it was just in the moment.
He's just handing out these incredible nicknames
to 12-year-olds.
It was nuts. I was Joel Honigford
and then I was suddenly Soul Train.
You should have ran
with that for the rest
of your life.
I should have.
Just be like,
hi, I'm Joel.
My name is Joel.
I go by Soul Train.
And what a huge mistake.
Was it like Joel Train
the Soul Train?
No, just Soul Train.
That's great too.
That is good.
That is good.
Joel.
I'm trying to like
piece it together in my mind.
I think you got it. Soul mind. I think you got it.
Soul Train.
I feel like it's like McLovin.
It's just one name.
It's just Soul Train.
It's hyphenated?
No.
Two words.
Two words.
Soul Train.
Two words as one word.
I say slam them together.
Soul Train.
Do you think?
Let's get that song going.
There's a Soul Train song?
Soul Train.
Isn't there? I think Soul Train was like a song going. There's a Soul Train song? Soul Train. Isn't there?
I think Soul Train was like a show.
No, wait.
Soul Train.
I think it was like the Blues Brothers, right?
Yeah.
I think.
Well, there is Hey Soul Sister by Train.
I don't know if that's my walkout song.
Dude, I think I loved that song, and then I heard them try to sing it live.
This is you.
This sounds amazing in the headphones.
This is me.
Oh, that hits you, dude.
I am Soul Train.
I can see you dressed up with some glossy fucking glasses or something on.
Yeah.
Fucking jamming.
I was a beast.
Soul Train.
Soul Train, dude.
I'm so in.
All right, you need to get a carry.
100%.
I need you to get a carry dive until the end zone.
Yeah.
Soul Train.
Soul Train.
Soul Train.
What if you're a Soul Train chant in Indy?
Oh, man.
I don't think it would catch.
Well, you don't know how many people.
Coach Harbaugh listens to this podcast.
Hey, we have like 30 viewers, dude.
At least.
We have some people paying attention.
He's got to get in the right hands.
Exactly.
He's got to get at the Harbaugh.
I think he'll be in.
He'll be so in.
We need a media credential so that we can ask him,
when are you handing Soul Train the ball?
We'll say, hey, Big Cat, I need you to hit up Harbaugh
and tell him to make Soul Train a thing. I agree it going yeah i agree um i the one time that in that
meeting that when he said honningford you're killing guys keep it up i was just like that
was awesome it's like the ultimate compliment. Yeah, it is.
Especially for a guy like me.
It felt good.
I knew I had killed some people.
I did.
I buried a few dudes.
It's good to be recognized for that.
I feel like if Jim Harbaugh is saying that you're murdering guys,
then you are really, really murdering guys.
It's the ultimate compliment.
Yes.
He does not. You not you know like you got
to earn the compliment yeah so yeah i mean that's awesome that was killing dudes have you seen those
uh those like cut-ups of jim doing the post-game like interviews yeah i love that yeah what do
you think about all that i love it but that That's so him. That's incredible. It's the perfect scenario for him because he doesn't want to talk to the media anyway.
Yeah.
So he's like, I'm just going to get out of here.
You talk to this guy.
It's genius, actually, from him.
Yeah, last week with Tom Rinaldi.
Oh, yeah.
He was like, how do you talk to this guy?
And he just starts leaving.
And Tom Rinaldi's like, what?
Jim, Jim, hold on.
The player's like, you're not going to get him.
He's essentially waving his eye in the background.
Even JJ was like, yeah, you're never going to get him.
That's like when we're at the bar and sitting there with Kinch,
and somebody comes up, and I'm like, thank God.
Okay, see you.
See you, dude.
See you later.
I love it.
I love it.
Jim is just different. he's built different.
I think, like, I'm so glad that things worked out for him here
because, you know, things could have went a million different ways two years ago, right?
Even at the end of last year, right?
Could have went differently.
Like, none of us really know what happened with him and the vikings and all that
stuff but like now like i feel like he is truly like set his legacy and i you know it's gonna
continue right but like now he can like walk away from this job and be like at some point he'll walk
away from this job and be like i I did my job there. Yeah.
Yeah.
He always, like, I think after the Illinois game,
he told Jake Moody that he is officially a Michigan legend.
Oh, fuck yeah.
That's awesome.
And Donovan, after Ohio State, told him he was a Michigan legend.
Yep. I think Coach Harbaugh is definitely a Michigan legend.
I mean, you think of, like, the Mount Rushmore of Michigan coaches.
Harbaugh's on there.
Yeah.
For sure.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
For sure.
Yeah.
I mean, you'd go, like, Fielding Yost, Bo.
Lloyd Carr.
Lloyd Carr.
One and Addy.
Harbaugh.
Definitely.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, the thing, too, is, like, I think the fun thing for right now
is that you're in the middle of this.
Is this the best time of your life?
Yeah.
Yeah, 100%.
Easily.
I can't think of anything that would top it.
Maybe Soul Train.
I was going to say.
Maybe.
Soul Train would be it.
Yeah.
I keep getting in trouble.
My dad has to keep reminding me because i say like yeah those
like those games were like the best days of my life he's like you got married like four months
ago yeah i was like yeah i should probably i've not gotten like dad let's not talk about the past
to myself actually if i want to stay married yeah i wouldn't say i have anything else to compare it to and yeah i mean i mean the cool thing i would say to that
is like there's not many times like it's the it's the um is it the office of the parks and
rec where they're like it's the office uh andy and he's like he's like i wish that they would
tell you like when the the best times of your life were like in the moment you
know like you are in the moment you know it's pretty awesome all downhill from here it's going
down no it's we're still up we're still on the up oh yeah we're still up always peaking
how do you like where do you go for from from this for the rest of the season here?
Where it's like you guys – so Dono and Junior were saying like you guys got
two or three of your goals so far.
We got two.
Two of your goals?
Beat Michigan State, beat Ohio State in the same season.
Next is Big Ten Championship.
Really, you could put five goals.
We said four because we said Big Ten Championship, National Championship.
Really go Big Ten Championship, semifinal, National Championship.
I mean, semifinal is a ring too because it would be a bowl game.
Yep.
Never won a bowl game here.
Wow.
I forgot about that. That is wild. Yeah. Never won a bowl game here. Wow. I forgot about that.
That is wild.
Yeah.
Holy shit.
You've had the opportunity to check a lot of boxes in the last, like, 12 months.
Yeah.
So let's see.
You played South Carolina.
Were you there for that one?
Yes, I was there for that.
You were there.
Oh, yeah.
Was that Brandon Peters?
The Jadavion Clowney one?
No, no, no. Okay. The Outback Bowl. He's like, yeah, I was there for both. You were there. Oh, yeah. Was that Brandon Peters? The Jadavion Clowney one? No, no, no.
Okay.
The Outback Bowl.
He's like, yeah, I was there for both of them.
Wait, that was the Outback Bowl too.
Both South Carolina ones.
Alabama.
Yep.
The Citrus Bowl.
Florida.
I must have blacked that one out.
Yeah.
Florida was – when did you get here, 16?
I got here in 17.
Florida.
17.
So we did – yeah, so it was South Carolina in the Outback Bowl.
Alabama.
Was that the next one?
I don't think so.
I don't remember this 18 one.
What's this one that we got?
No, I think 18 was – no, it was Bama in the Citrus Bowl, wasn't it?
I think 18 was Florida and the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
Yeah, that sounds right.
And then Citrus Bowl, Alabama.
Then we didn't play a bowl game, 2020.
Right.
Last year, Orange Bowl.
Interesting.
Okay.
That's crazy.
I mean, the thing is that, like that like yeah all those are good teams like
they're not bad losses really yeah but still they're i mean it's tough that they're all losses
yeah don't have a ring from them got one from the big 10 championship well that's a that's a
shiny ring isn't it nice it's pretty big yeah. It's pretty big. Yeah. It's sitting in my room.
I'm just thinking.
Do you need it?
Do you have it, like, in a box?
Yeah, yeah.
It lights up when you open it.
Really?
That's pretty sweet. Do you have your name on it?
I don't know.
I think so.
Is there a soul train on it somewhere?
Yeah.
It's in diamonds.
Love that.
Yeah.
Now what you got to do is go back to Lewis Schuller's.
Yeah, soul train.
Get a soul train chain.
Holy shit.
That would be sick. We'll talk to Keith. We'll talk to Keith. Oh schuler's yeah soul train chain that would be that would
be sick we'll talk to keith keith would be like oh i want one of those soul soul train with the
shades that you have you've never heard the end of it oh my god also that's still the hardest
of you just like holding the trophy ball i hope to replicate that please yeah that would be
incredible i love that you've like just stayed the course with rock in the uh the shades too the trophy ball. I hope to replicate it. That, please do. That would be incredible.
I love that you've, like,
just stayed the course with rocking the shades, too.
Yeah, I had to.
You have to, dude.
It's your whole persona.
They're, like, $3.
These are not, like,
they're not, like, $75
pair of sunglasses.
I love it.
That's the best.
They're $3.
I love it.
Perfect.
Oh, man.
Are you a Spotify guy?
Yeah.
What's been on your, like, year-end. Are you a Spotify guy? Yeah. What's been on your year end?
Did you get your rap?
What's your Spotify rap?
Yeah.
Top artist of 2021.
Besides Pump It Up.
Wait, 2022.
2022?
22.
All right.
What year is it?
Mount Joy.
Ooh, yeah, Mount Joy.
I like that.
That's good vibes.
Love that.
Mine was All Mike. All Mike oh my formerly known as mike's done
yeah i was hoping there was some uh um eiffel 65 is that yeah there you go a little i'm blue
yeah but it wasn't you played it 400 times in the last three that's how much i listen to mike's
dude so i can love mike's dad how do you get... Oh, my rhymes are dirty.
Yeah, there you go.
Whoa, now.
Oh, God damn. Morgan Wallen.
Morgan Wallen's good, too.
Just got to go all the way to the end.
Got to go all the way to the end.
Yeah, it's kind of annoying.
You have to tap through it.
That is really annoying.
It's pretty lengthy.
Yeah, I was almost like, I don't care enough to get this.
This is eclectic.
It's all over the place.
I like it.
So my page that shows that, it played I'm Blue.
That was the last song.
Really?
It's kind of cool.
I like that.
Quinn 92 is mine.
Of course.
Loud Lux.
Isn't Quinn 92?
Is he from Michigan?
Yeah, he's from Detroit.
Yeah.
And Two Friends.
Of course.
I met Two Friends.
Did you when they were here?
Yeah.
That's awesome.
Got VIP passes at a concert. They seem pretty sweet. They're cool. Yeah met two friends. Did you when they were here? Yeah. That's awesome. Got VIP passes at a concert.
They seem pretty sweet.
They're cool.
Yeah, cool dudes.
Good music.
Great music.
I've seen them in concert.
It's a good concert.
Loud Luxury.
Another good one.
You can tell I'm a fist bumping guy.
Yeah.
Drake and, yeah, classic.
Big Rufus to Soul guy.
You guys know Rufus? Yeah. Love him. my first ever concert was this past summer it's really
same kind of vibes as Mount Joy or what no no how would you like a DJ like EDM me yeah so not even
close yeah no not close it's unreal do you listen any camp we talk about yeah yeah a little bit of camp love camp yeah that's not a good one what's
uh what's on the pre-game uh playlist i actually have this insane thing that i figured out this
year okay so when we when we go to get on the buses at a home game to go to the field i start with on my knees by rufus de soul
if you haven't listened to it highly recommend it's nuts add that to the list it ends
right before we turn to get onto the bridge okay okay and what starts after that is outro by M83. Wow.
It's nuts.
And it plays perfectly.
Like you're in a movie.
Like it starts picking up.
And then like right when you're pulling in the stadium, it just cuts out.
Gives you a little bit of time to get your thoughts about you.
Wow.
And then we pull up to get ready to walk out of the bus.
And like the song is blasting. And you literally think you're in a movie. movie that's incredible it was one of the coolest things i figured out that's incredible
i'm gonna go like drive my car yeah i gotta drive my car you're gonna have to go like
25 miles an hour though for the time up right all right okay yeah i like that i'll try to time this
on my way back home i'll put the flashers on. It'll work. Yeah, it'll be good. Oh, there you go. Yeah.
That's perfect.
I love you, like, kind of like, because you know how, like, as a kid,
like, you look out the window for long enough,
you think you're in, like, a movie, you're playing that.
Like, that's you in that moment.
Yeah.
It was nuts.
The reason I got hooked on Outro by M83,
and really anything by M83, is Andrew Stuber.
That's the last song he would listen to before he went out on the field last year. Okay. My outro by M83, and really anything by M83, is Andrew Stuber.
That's the last song he would listen to before he went out on the field last year.
Okay.
And he was like, you got to give it a go.
Love that.
And I already had my pregame playlist last year.
I was like, I cannot add to it.
Yeah.
But we'll reconsider next year.
Yeah.
And I did.
And you made it out there. It's one of the greatest decisions I ever made.
That's incredible.
So I just imagine you, like like on the bus you're just like
staring at your phone just like waiting to press play at the perfect time yeah it's perfect i love
that man i recommended it to a few teammates i don't know if they tried it out mainly scoony
maybe next scoony seems like he's probably got the same vibes as you he does yeah he does we
share a lot of music pre-game yeah
you don't live with schoon do you no no oh yeah you live with all the linemen right yeah yeah
because you are one yeah at heart yeah yeah i'm in a heart do you are you happy that you got a
head start on like losing weight after you're done playing and some some point in the near future. Not near, sorry, far future.
Yeah.
Yeah, 100%.
Breaking news from ESPN.
Rose Bowl agrees to amended deal paving way for early college football
playoff expansion.
Wow.
Last spring obstacle to expanding the college football playoffs to 12 teams
in the 2024 and 2025 seasons has been cleared.
Wow.
Interesting. How do you feel on that note how do you feel about ohio state at five and people everyone's like yeah they're
gonna be in well it's tough because there are so many like two lost teams but on that note their one loss
did happen to be at home and yeah blown out there they got was it three
touchdowns I think yeah I 22 who who was that by I don't remember I didn't see
that some guys in blue yeah also they don't play this weekend.
They don't.
I saw an interesting argument or conversation or whatever you want to call it
by Joel Klatt, and I think I was watching part of my take, too,
and Big Cat was saying the same thing.
They should have the top four teams set after the end of the regular season.
Shouldn't be penalized for playing in a conference championship game.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think that's fair.
Because, like, what? regular season shouldn't be penalized for playing in a conference championship game yeah yeah i think that's fair because like what you're even i mean even if i'm not gonna speak bad vibes about about michigan but let's say tcu and usc both lose what gives ohio state and alabama that's
what i'm saying reason to jump them exactly because they because they were good enough to
play in their conference championship game that's stupid i think she's cut off exactly you know stupid yeah i agree i agree but like i so like if would you
want to play them again oh yeah i don't care love it yeah beat that ass yeah i mean i don't know
like yeah yeah why not let's do it how great would that be if ohio state did get back in I mean, I don't know. Yeah. Sure.
Why not?
Let's do it.
How great would that be if Ohio State did get back in at number –
I'd say it has to be number four because they'd have to put Georgia at number one
because they're not going to put Michigan-Ohio State again.
You should be number one.
We would play TCU at 2-3.
And then assuming Ohio State beat Georgia,
then the rematch would be for the national title.
That'd be electric.
Last night we were soul train, fullback dive for the game-winning touchdown.
Oh, my God.
Jeez.
I think I probably would have brought him right off the field.
No, you would just lay there and die.
Like, that's it.
Yeah, you're right.
Which would be fine.
Everyone would be like, yeah, you know what? Going out on a high that's it. Yeah, you're right. Which would be fine. Like, everyone would be like, yeah, you know what?
Going out on a high note.
Yeah.
I think you're right.
This is the best moment of my life.
I wonder if we can get on our Blue by 90s shop some, like, Soul Train necklaces.
That'd be dope.
I mean, yeah, we can.
Dude, let's do it.
That is an NIL deal.
Soul train.
Let's go.
We'll have to hit up Keith.
What were you going to say about last night?
We were eating dinner in the Commons at Shem after practice, and, like, the selection show was on.
And we were all just kind of watching or whatever,
and he gets to the top four
you know usc tcu and you know there's like this dramatic pause for number two
and we're like we're all thinking like
we should be number one but like maybe they're gonna put us two. And then all of a sudden, like, we pop up at two. And everybody's just like, ah.
I mean, you have the best win by far in college football.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
And you're undefeated.
So I don't understand.
Like, the whole – you want to know what's, like, been so satisfying is that you –
everyone's talked about the non-conference schedule all fucking year, right?
Yeah.
And it's been annoying as shit.
And you guys just, like, didn't even give them a chance
because they wanted to so bad, like, use that in a way
that they could keep Michigan out of the playoff.
We knew Michigan was bad.
Yeah, like, that's what everybody wanted, the chance all year long to, like,
say, like, yeah, they played this week's schedule,
and they played the one good team and lost,
and then you never gave them the chance.
Yeah.
That's satisfying.
Yeah, it's pretty satisfying.
Yeah.
I love that.
Do you guys, like, listen to ESPN, watch it,
like when people talk about that shit?
No, not really.
Sometimes it's on in the locker room,
but usually the volume is turned all the way down
or someone's playing music.
I don't really think.
Do you put on subtitles when you watch TV?
Oh, good question.
Or movies?
I refuse to.
Really?
Here's the thing.
If I'm watching TV with subtitles,
I got to hear this.
If I'm watching it with subtitles, I promise you, even if I can clearly hear what is being said, I will be looking at the subtitles.
And it drives me nuts.
It takes away from the picture.
You'll age into it.
You'll age into it.
I can't watch anything without subtitles.
You have to watch with subtitles.
Sporting event, no subtitles.
It'll happen to you.
You'll get old.
Your ears stop working.
You've got to read the subtitles.
If I'm watching a movie and I'm older than everyone here, I don't do it.
Boom, got it.
Eventually, you just kind of watch it and read it at the same time.
Have you ever been watching a movie and the dialogue is really quiet,
but the sound is way too loud and you keep flipping between that?
Yeah.
You're the one that got me into subtitles.
I was never a subtitles guy.
Changed my life for the best.
I started liking better movies.
It's like blue cheese with wings.
I love blue cheese now with wings.

yeah saying i scary movies i love them love them and I hate them. Scare me to death. Yeah.
The first ever scary movie I watched was Insidious.
A lot of jump scares in that one. Yeah, and all my friends had seen it at the time,
and I was like, well, they're all talking about it,
so I kind of want to talk about it.
So I watched it by myself in my room on my phone,
and it was not a great life choice.
No.
I didn't sleep for four days.
Dude, by far one of the scariest in theater experiences.
I think it was paranormal activity.
I would say the first one.
I remember shaking.
Oh my gosh.
Like,
cause we were in the front row too.
I mean,
we were in like high school,
but yeah,
I was just like,
what the fuck?
I like watching it.
I'm like,
what am I?
What?
Yeah.
It wasn't scary at all,
but in theaters it was like trippy, man. Yeah. It was like the first? It wasn't scary at all. It wasn't scary at all. But in theaters, it was like trippy, man.
Yeah.
It was like the first of that kind since like Blair Witch.
Oh, yeah.
That was also a bad movie.
You know what?
That's funny you mention Insidious.
Do you remember?
We went and saw Insidious, and it was like 10 minutes in the movie, and somebody came
in with a baby.
Yeah.
And it was like a midnight screening.
Oh, yeah.
Opening night, Insidious. And I heard like and i was fucking whining all through the entire movie i was like what is going on that's the scariest
thing in here yeah geez babies are scary oh man yeah don't do that

we're in a dome you know a dome means it means the noise does not leave yes
so we're gonna we're gonna have to pump it up that's we're gonna have to pump it up
there's no doubt about it so i mean hey let's bring it home let's bring it let's make some
history let's make history there's been no michigan team to go 13 and 0 that's facts wow or 14 and 0 or 15 and 0

It'll be like a tight end sweep.
Okay?
So you'll come across in motion, and then JJ just snaps it, hands it off to you.
Nobody sees it coming.
Boom.
Who's stopping that?
Like, nobody's stopping that train.
Yeah.
Other than maybe your own feet.
Good.
Maybe.
But I don't have knee braces on anymore. I feel like you've got to yell it, too, when you take the hand off. Like, nobody's stopping that train. Yeah. Other than maybe your own feet. Good. Maybe.
What if you train? I don't have knee braces on anymore.
I feel like you got to yell it, too, when you take the handoff.
Yeah.
