All right, welcome in here to rise to the victors on a non-victory Monday, boo.
Obviously, everybody's still reeling from Michigan's heartbreaking loss to Iowa late.
2019, Kyle Whittingham just left the podium a little bit ago.
And I've talked since he's gotten here about how honest and candid winning him is.
And I think a lot of his comments really touched on how fans are feeling.
feeling today and just the general vibe. So we're going to get into that, obviously talk about the Iowa
game and what went wrong. I think we're all on the same page about a lot. I think there's a lot of good.
There's two versions of me today. We'll get into that. But the general vibe, I sent this to you as
soon as he said it darnow that winning him summed this up perfectly in my mind. He said,
we're three and one, and I feel like we're 0 and four. And I think that's how Michigan fans feel
in some ways because you've got the Western Michigan game where you played poor enough to lose
and should have lost, but you win. It doesn't feel like a win. You beat Oklahoma, but in that one,
like you still were having struggles with throwing the ball. He had to lean on Bryce's legs.
And again, looking at the box score, that felt like a game Michigan should have won more comfortably
and didn't, right? So it was still these like Michigan mistakes. And then UTAP,
again, you end up blowing them out, but that first half, not really good enough against some of these Michigan mistakes.
And we kept talking about it, that these penalties, the formation stuff, the timing of these penalties, these drive killers.
This kind of stuff was going to come back in by Michigan at some point.
And it did against Iowa, obviously, late in the fourth quarter with some costly penalties and just awful mistakes.
And then the staff kind of froze in a couple spots.
And here we are.
Michigan's three in one.
and they've lost one of the games that we circled the Iowa
and the Penn State game,
like you really don't want to lose these
because you've got the other big three coming up
and those just become even more valuable now.
Yeah, no victory buffs today, man.
First off, I would be remiss without bringing up the fact.
Justin throws a pretty badass tailgate.
Like, I enjoy myself at the Blueby-90 tailgate.
If you ever, guys, if y'all ever up in Ann Arbor,
Make sure you pull up.
It's a time.
It felt like me going back to my college homecoming vibes.
You know what I'm saying?
Like the DJ out on the pickup truck and just a lot of people just having good fun and a good time.
Sometimes Mrs.
Loads up there and spend some tunes too.
Yeah.
Shameless plug.
But I didn't get a chance to meet Justin, but I had an amazing time.
I got some pictures from the tailgant that I was going to send over to you so that you can.
Yeah, for sure.
You can send, but where do we start, man?
I'm one of those fans that I wouldn't go as far as what winning MSN is saying is O and 4.
But this team could easily be two and two.
This team easily could be if you didn't get your head out.
He said that as well.
He said we're one play from 4 and 0 and one play from 2 and 2.
Yep.
Yeah, this team could be two and two.
If you didn't get your head out of your behind,
you could be one and three with two bad losses to YouTube, right?
I mean, Utah and then Western.
We saw what happened to Western this weekend against Boise.
They actually took them to the woodshed, right?
Here's what I'll say.
I was there alive.
The vibes in the stadium was freaking amazing.
I think that stripe-out thing should be done
multiple times. Like the stadium looked beautiful. The energy was there.
I felt like, well, I'll save that comment because I know we're going to get to how Bryce played.
Let's just say this. I felt like the game plan that Jason Beck called was phenomenal for three and a half quarters.
We was in the stadium talking about it. I felt like the game plan J. He'll call.
for three and a half quarters was phenomenal.
It was.
I'm going to, you know, after talking to a couple people who I know know a little bit more about this stuff than I do,
it caused me to calm down a little bit, just saying like, hey, this staff is still filling out this team.
This team is still filling out this staff.
In these type of situations, you got to give them some time to learn to trust each other.
So I'll hold my reserves for that to later in the season.
But it feels like one of those games, Trev, where in the stadium, me and Lee was looking at each other.
Our buddy Lee that me and Trevor knows.
He came to drove down from Toronto, came to the game.
Shout out to him.
It felt like we knew a gut punch was coming.
We could feel it at home too.
We could feel it in the stadium around us.
we're sitting at the 50-yard line,
60, 40 rows up and I'm sitting there with, I mean,
oh, let me also say this,
because I want to get this out on the show.
Shout out to the fans.
I know there's been this myth that the big house is socked.
Right?
It's a wine and cheese.
It's a wine and cheese type fan base.
Everybody's sitting down.
Triff, on the Michigan side,
where I was, there was literally nobody sitting for the whole game.
It's made some progress in the last few years.
It really has.
They were loud.
Outside of, outside of 2021 Ohio State, that Oklahoma game was probably the best crowd atmosphere
during a day game Michigan's ever had.
Like, it's wild.
They've done some things in the stadium and some things, you know, whatever.
And I do think,
generationally, some people are no longer coming to the games that were there in the aughts and the
tens that might be part of it. But yeah, I mean, and that's a huge advantage too, right?
Michigan's always been like, oh, you've got 110,000 people in the library. That was kind of
always the thing. But now, yeah, I mean, that that false start that Iowa got. Absolutely.
The crowd went, but they were going to go for it on fourth down. The false start backs them up.
They go for the field goal and miss it. Absolute gift. And probably the first moment in the second half,
I was like, oh, thank God, Michigan finally won this game.
And obviously, they did.
But like, that's a, yeah, crowd went nuts.
It's a huge advantage.
Yeah.
Sorry.
Um, no, no, I would just point out the stuff that I saw live.
And I just saw somebody in the comments.
I'll get to your comment on the Florida new staff.
Because I think Florida has some issues too.
They just haven't ran into a team yet ready to expose it.
I think they played awesome against Ole Miss, but we can get to that later.
Um,
And so you kind of have like a mixed feeling, right?
It makes you have to man up now and win two out of three
when you probably only had to win one out of three.
And after watching Indiana on Friday night,
I felt like Indiana was a very getable game
because I watched Northwestern take them down to the wire at home,
not at Northwestern, but at Indiana.
So I'm feeling good Saturday morning going into the game.
Like Trevor and Boudros, five and O,
for the buy. We got Penn State who lost to Wisconsin. And then we got Indiana who doesn't look good.
This path to get to the playoffs looks clear. Like I see the light at the end of the tunnel.
And then I walk into the game. And one thing Lee said to me and the guys sitting next to us,
we was all three talking and we was like, bro, the game felt like it was going to be one of those games we were going to lose.
at halftown we up 10-3, but we're looking at the scoreboard,
and Michigan is absolutely dominating in every aspect of the game.
And we're like, why is this game close?
It shouldn't be.
And so, I don't know.
I definitely have a different outset now on the season.
I think we'll talk about that a little later,
but I think there are some things that have to,
I think Witt is going to have to make some examples.
And I'm sorry to say that because that sounds bad.
But every week, the procedure penalties,
I can tell you what it is, Trevor.
I truly believe, because when you watch it on tape,
it looks a little weird, but when you're there and you're watching it
and the play is happening in front of you,
I truly believe that when those two guys,
the rhino and the tidying go the extra tidy and goes into motion they're supposed to be in they're not supposed to be on the line i think when they go in more because they they start that the i think the rhino starts out on the line when him and the tidy and go in motion i think the receiver either the one that's on the near side who's not on the line or the one that's on the far side who is on the line whatever one is not on the line is supposed to scrover
up and get on the line.
You get what I'm saying?
And there's something not clicking
with who's supposed to be on and who's supposed
to be off. Because once that Wino comes off the
line, he can't, I don't think,
I said I was going to look this up, but
I don't believe he can go back and get on the line
again. Because like, who is he
checking with? He's in a three-point stand.
Who is supposed to get up and look at the ref?
He's not eligible.
So it can't be him.
It can't be him. And then if the formation
will look wacky if the tight end is
on the line or the rhino is behind or the running backs on the line in the slot and then he comes back
and motions to the backfield and now he's the fourth player in the backfield and again a receiver
supposed to step up yeah it's just stupid it's a stupid thing in week four or call time out from the
sideline and be like guys how the hell are we making this mistake again go i've got a lot of
thoughts still in the rhino too yeah so i didn't want to hijack but i had to get that rent off i got
some other things i will say but i'll keep them organized to where we're at but i want to
touch on, I had a big picture opinion that because of the Florida comment and something else
you said, I think makes sense to say now, which is we've got to start to look at these games
and this season and everything through a different lens because college football is not the
college football you grow up with anymore, right? One, the 12 team playoff changes what a great
season or a good season looks like.
Two, conference expansion and scheduling changes what a schedule looks like.
And three, NIO and the portal has not only brought parity in different spots of college
football, it's hurt depth.
It's hurt experience in terms of how long guys are around the program.
And it's made it where in the past college football was, look, there was nine, maybe
10 games a year, your team was going to come out, they were going to win, and you wanted them to
dominate by a certain level and hopefully not be close and whatever. And it was all for the other
two or three games that were going to be close and determined whether your season was good or not.
It's not that anymore. It is now more like the NFL, where not only is it a week-to-week
grind of a season versus, again, the two or three games and taking care of business the rest of
the time. But it's any given Saturday, just like it's any given Sunday.
Right. We see it in the NFL all the time where a team loses to a team where you're like,
they had no business losing. And then the next week, they blow them out and blah, blah,
right? So, you know, you bring up Florida. It's so perfect because what happened in that game?
They have Jadenbaugh and Ole Miss has a terrible run defense. People all week were so shocked by
the gambling, the betting lines on that. And it's,
was clear this is what's going to happen.
Ole Miss is coming off the high of highs.
They just beat LSU.
They just beat Lane Kiffin.
And then they go and get stomp by Florida, right?
And Florida's going to lose a game that's going to bring them off their high now too, right?
Maybe it's at Missouri next week, right?
Maybe it's when they play Texas and Georgia and back-to-back weeks.
I don't know, right?
But, like, that's up and down.
Texas A&M, look at their high versus their lows, right?
you just brought up Indiana struggled against Northwestern.
Oregon lost to Oklahoma State.
Ohio State lost by absolutely crapping the bed against Texas, right?
So if you're looking forward on Michigan's schedule, people gave me and Boutros and you
in different levels crap because we were basically putting L's on the board for Oregon and Ohio
State, right?
I'm not doing that anymore.
There isn't a team on Michigan's schedule that we thought would be a really good team that is better than we expected.
And that's across college football.
You don't have, you know, the reason everybody was fine with the BCS and the 14 playoff is because you would have one, two, three, four true elite teams.
Who's the elite team in college football right now?
Texas is number one.
Are they unstoppable in anybody's mind right now?
maybe I mean
maybe Georgia
but even then
but yeah maybe
you know what I mean
it's not like
it's just it's different
and I say that
because I think that has to
adjust how you look at the entire season
and even this game
right
um
look it's devastating to lose the way they lost
and like you said we could all feel it coming
that makes it even worse right
yeah um
Miami maybe Miami's a decent shout
making no disrespect though
Iowa was a good team
Yeah, but they do what Michigan, they do well what Michigan does not.
They're not, they're not the most talented team.
That's why I make the sound in the group chat.
They're good at the fundamentals.
And I'm going to give my rent on that towards the end of the show.
But they're good at the fundamentals.
You know who they remind me of?
And once again, guys, because I know the chat is about to go crazy.
Don't look at it from the talent standpoint.
Iowa reminds me of 2023 Michigan.
They don't make, they don't beat themselves.
They didn't beat themselves.
That's how they stayed in the game.
I'm not saying talent-wise.
Michigan, 2023, blows them up.
I'm not even saying talent-wise.
Yeah, but fundamentally, they don't make the mistakes.
They play football.
Well, I mean, they literally had the, again, the false start that screwed up there, too.
Look, the kickoff return for the touchdown is dramatic and changes the entire outlook of this game.
without that the defense probably gets another stop you know and that's the thing too like part of
me is like what a fluke aside from iowa doing iowa things what a fluky freaking game man the kickoff
return for the touchdown you had the first bizarre tipped catch where he was almost past the line
of scrimmage but he wasn't i know because of the jj play a couple years ago you have to be
fully that play has right in front of us Trevor we was certain he was he was paying on the line
it happened literally right in front of us yeah well and then like oh he got pushed out of bounds
and then he was allowed to reestablish.
How far did he get pushed?
How long is he along to stay out?
Like, just fluky play.
And then the same thing happens on the last drive of the game,
another weird tip ball.
Bracey has one before that hits him right in the chest that he almost intercepts.
Like, just so many weird.
And then, I mean, that last touchdown play, like,
you get this back shoulder throw, like just so many crazy, like, oh, my God.
And even the fact that they got to run the play,
if John Henry Daly's not hurt on the play,
I don't know if I would have been smart enough to run the play
or if they would have tried to spike it at lose time.
I don't know.
But again, he gets hurt,
so they get the stop clock on the two second.
Just crazy.
No, we're not going to let the coaches up.
I was going to say, we're just not there yet.
Don't worry.
We're not there yet.
But look, penalties again,
I'm not as harsh on the penalties in totality
because I thought both holding calls were incredibly soft.
the Trey Pierce hands to the face call was literally phantom he was on his shoulder um and look i mean i'm
not going to beat up zeke berry because nobody's being harder on him than he is on himself right now but
man you just you can't do that what are you doing dude i know what it was Trevor i know what it was
he let that kid get in his head that's the kid that made the statement that playing them one-on-one was like a
candy shop and I saw them all game no matter if it was Zeke, no matter if it was
Smith Snowden, no matter if it was Rob Moore a little bit, they've been chirping that kid
all game. And for good, for, oh, he only had one pass for like 40 yards. They had been a good job
of boxing him up. So you cannot make that bone yet penalty. It literally, and in the stadium,
we thought it was a bad call, but then when I got home and got to my hotel and looked at
TV version, he clearly hit him out of bounds.
Like, it didn't make any sense.
No, made no sense.
And he flopped a little bit, but so what?
That's what you're supposed to do when somebody pushes you.
I don't have an issue with him doing that.
I would hope if somebody in that situation in our team got pushed,
they would sell it for the call to.
I'm about to say, don't even sell me on flop.
I just watched the guy flopped last night against the rims.
But yeah, Dias, Tony Diaz was taken out of the game.
He was targeted 10 times.
He only caught three passes for 46 yards.
one of those was the 32-yard play later in the game.
So other than that, nine targets, two catches 14 yards.
It worked.
Vander Z on the other hand, five for five for 66.
All five were first downs, two were touchdowns.
And then, of course, the last one to win the game.
So, yeah, frustrating, but that's a good point.
I didn't actually think about that, that, you know, the dude was in their head.
But hold on, I want to make sure I stay online.
Okay, we talked about penalties.
I guess I'm saying some of the softwood.
The red zone execution is absolutely brutal.
You know what it kind of,
this kind of hit me,
but it kind of reminds me of where they did have a good game plan.
Both sides of the ball.
I came into this game a highly optimistic take compared to the rest, right?
And I said,
I think the Michigan offense has figured some things out.
I have faith in Bryce.
He's not reverting back.
I think they're going to pass extremely well in this.
game because i was still running phil parker's zone and everybody's like up it's phil parker yes but
what did i say they don't have the guys up front to create the pressure and it's not the same lockdown
secondary they have so if bryce has time he can pick a barth the zone and he did and it allowed some of the
running to get going obviously late they didn't have it but they were getting four or five yards a clip
they were doing good enough offensively moving the ball between the 20s to your point
23 Michigan comp, what happened when they got in the red zone stopped them.
Where the game plan issues come up in my mind is this staff against Western Michigan,
I saw it, and parts of Oklahoma.
They have a good game plan, but I feel like they're making situational decisions
in that moment.
And a huge change for Jim Harbaugh of 2016 through 2020 compared to 21 through 23.
was they were having a lot of these conversations,
situational decisions,
before they happened during the week.
So when that fourth and one comes up,
they already know we're going for it,
and this is the play we're running.
Instead, and Whittingham starts to suggest it by saying we,
instead, this is very hard about ask again.
They're having a discussion on the headsets about what to do and whatever.
And a lot of times compromise means you're not making.
a gutsy call in those situations.
And then you hear him after the game say, yeah, probably should have done a different call.
The third and five.
Same thing.
Huge moment there.
And I feel like what happens is you've got, I don't know how many people, maybe it's
three, maybe it's four, maybe it's only two, maybe it's just Beck and Whit.
But they're debating what to do in that situation.
And what happens is you minimize with compromise and you just do a run to hider.
And he even said, yeah, we talked about maybe throwing the ball there.
Yes.
Bryce is having the best game of his life.
Call a bootleg where you trust him to make the throw if it's open or run the ball if it's not.
Worst case scenario, you're punting anyway.
Give him a chance to make a play, dude.
Right?
That drive at the end of the game.
Jay Hill masterful, to your point, listen to this through three quarters.
Iowa had 129 yards total.
I said I thought Michigan could shut down the run game and make them one-dimensional.
They did.
I said, Hank Brown has never been pressured or sacked before.
He's going to feel it if you make pressure on him.
He was one for four for nine yards when pressure.
Problem was they only pressured him seven times.
No bony, no Nate Marshall, no Meadows, no rotation late.
Daly and Nichols played 50 snaps in this game.
So just like the Western game, it felt like as it went on and it wasn't going to plan, they got caught off guard.
And then the coaches reverted back, right?
You know what else happened on offense?
The rhino, 60% of the snaps, rhino formation, back up again.
I just, they get caught in these situations like where everyone in the building knows what an Iowa game looks like.
And it was like the staff was finding out for the first time, right?
That's part of the learning curve, you know?
They have got to be more prepared for those situations.
moments and then yeah the the final drive Iowa goes 91 yards in a minute and 46 um
you help and of course the the Barry play but even before that he had they had 156 total yards
142 passing in the fourth quarter they made them one dimensional and then gave up a ton of
passing yards just just crazy and really unfortunate they only allowed 58 rushing yards 2.4 per
carry iowa success rate 28% all the advanced metrics that come out michigan should have won the game
like i saw one metric says it was 2814 was the expected points uh iowa was the worst
win of the season in terms of post game expectancy um yeah so it it's a lot of the same shit
and it's getting annoying hearing the same stuff and it's frustrating but again i am optimistic
post-western they showed they learned things i think they can learn from this one as well
and I'd rather the team played well than played bad and just lost Iowa.
The talent level and the steps that Bryce has taken,
the O line looked better despite injuries.
Passing-wise, between Bryce and having Marsh and JJ,
that's the best passing trio Michigan's had,
and I don't know how long.
Again, defense was elite for three quarters.
They just got to get better situationally as far as the players and the coaches.
Here's my first rent one of the show.
Trevor
I'm sorry
I know that
I know that we run a very
opinionated
podcast
I'm screaming
I literally just got my voice back
I am screaming
at the top of my lungs
every time we got in the red zone
Phil Parker
lined up
and put
seven
to eight in the box
and he ran
man press
on Marsh
and Buchanan
on the outside
we're at the 10-yard line
for Jesus Christ
you have
a six
what is Buchanan 6-3
6-4 guy
6-5 I think
you have a 6-5 receiver in
Buchanan I don't even know I thought Marshy is
throw
throw the fucking fade.
Six-four.
He's six-four.
I'm yelling, throw the fade.
When I was in high school and teams,
this is high school football now.
When I was in high school and teams would line up against us
and you want to put your corner one-on-one with our receiver
and we know our guy not only is better than your guy,
but he's taller than your guy.
We're telling him to run to the fucking corner of Denzo
and we're throwing it up to him.
you getting Q running
running delayed runs
running
um
a wildcat
everything but the fade
I saw somebody just put
but Bryce has been inconsistent
respectfully Todd
Bryce was having his best game in a Michigan
uniform
throw the damn ball
we got to stop
with this
oh well
Bryce almost threw a
Hick so we have to revert back.
That's not how football is played.
Did Sean Payton stop fucking throwing a ball yesterday when Bo Knicks almost
threw a pick? No, you throw the ball.
You're in the red zone to get points.
Not run these cute, reverse, sweet,
toss back. That's not working.
Because they're putting more in the box than you can block.
It's never going to work.
You have seven in the box.
You have seven linemen.
they put nine in the box two people are unblocked every time you have a one-on-one outside
throw the ball and if you don't feel like bryce can throw the ball you know who can throw that
fucking fade because i watched them throw it live in the game Tommy fucking car so if Tommy if
if I got to bring you in Tommy car what I'm in now you're being crazy all I'm telling you is
I think Bryce can make I think Bryce can make I know but it's not it's not they don't
trust them to throw it like i'm not saying that no no i'm not saying they don't trust them i'm saying
make the play call because what what these dc's are telling you is they don't trust you to
identify that and make the play call that's all i'm saying j j j j buchanan caught a crazy hell
mary every time we i would treat j j j j j j buchanan like the lions used to treat megatron
every time we have the five unless you double team them i'm just sending them on a fade route
throwing it according to a court and go get it j j at least once i'm not telling me you got to do it
three short times but at least once you're telling me he can't come down with one fade a game
come on man we got to get creative in the in the rear zone there's no creativity that
you have it all between the 20s you have it all between the 20s that play
But you remember Trevor when you said
You remember that
That play where you said
Marshall keeps I mean they keep running this wildcat
Bryce keep coming in motion
It's setting up something eventually
We finally saw it
It was a great play
And it was a great play
Yep
Where's that creativity in the real tone
And guys for the love of me
Stop putting Eddie almost through two pick sixes
Quarterbacks throw two pick sixes all the time.
Sorry, I'm getting lit up.
Respectfully, like, with some of these comments, protecting Bryce and Bryce tried to throw.
If you're still on Bryce at this point, I don't know if it's because you're hammering your view from before or whatever.
But, like, he is literally the last thing on this team I would complain about right now.
He's had one turnover worthy play in three weeks.
I don't know.
I don't, but Trevor, Trevor, it's just absolutely crazy.
It is a, no one's talking about his mechanics anymore.
That JJ throw, the touchdown, he was running the ball.
And all the time we talked about, oh, he's not looking down field and blah, blah, blah.
And he went from running through it because he saw him because he's looking downfield.
He's going through progressions.
He's delivering elite throws, tight windows.
Like, you don't know that, Todd.
The anemic play calling is to protect him.
No, the problem is they can't run the football.
Well, then, well, here's my two things.
One, turnoff bus, I was joking with the Tommy thing.
Right.
Sorry, maybe it's a little bit more satire.
Soft subject.
But if we're going to, if we're going to run play calling based to protect Bryce,
then as fans, we should be okay with going seven and five or eight and four.
You cannot call plays like that.
That doesn't like that that literally does not make any sense.
You don't run your running back more than any of your, excuse me,
you don't run your quarterback more than any of your running backs.
And you don't allow the attempts in the plays that you did in this game.
That was the second highest yard per attempt average.
Iowa has given up in eight years.
He was cooking them.
Like Bryce was cooking.
That's what I'm saying.
like the play caller made no sense he was literally cooking them down the field they could not get the
brice and he was cooking them this we saw more inside runs than this one and that's been an adjustment
they've been making a little bit more balance with inside versus outside um what continues to be an
issue in the run game and where Michigan could have won this game in the past right is late in the
fourth quarter. And we saw it on the one drive where they called nine straight, well,
they didn't call nine straight runs. They had nine straight runs. One of Bryce's plays, he ended up
running. The last one was the past, the incompletion. That to me was very clear, like, okay,
Iowa's defense has been on the field a ton. We're winning the time possession battle. We're going to
start leaning in and we can wear them down. And that's what they try to do. And we're pretty
successful on that drive. And then on the last play, get the incompletion, right? But like,
I think the we're, and I'm trying to adjust to somebody who watches Michigan every week, right?
We've gone from peppering in some RPO and some of these gap reads to that being the entire scheme, right?
And you've got all of the run plays are these slow developing reads where they're staying for in the mesh as long as possible and then going where you've got to be able.
to at some point, just go inside zone, turn around and hand the football off.
Like our only run plays like that are the Wildcat, which I hate the Wildcat,
because it's just gimmicky to me.
But it's been the only play that works when they need four yards for sure is having Marshall
go back in Wildcat because he gets the ball and goes.
We have no other run plays where Bryce just turns around and puts it in the dude's stomach
and off he goes.
And that impacts your red zone options.
too because you've added the extra defender of having the back of the end zone, right?
So, yeah.
And then, and then your rhino plays that do work, you can't fucking get set.
That rhino play that we got the, bro, that rhino play that we got, um, uh, the procedure on that
Hyder end up getting the first down.
I think Jay do put it on Twitter.
We saw it live.
Trevor
I don't had a hole
You remember that hole
That Blake had
Against Penn State
When we played them
At the big house
And Blake ran through a hole
So big that
When they went back and showed
The replay,
it was like
There was nobody
Stayed in there
Huh?
Yeah,
Yeah, he had that cutback
Bro,
Heider had that cutback
On that play
That he probably
Could have scored on
But guess what?
It wouldn't have
Because we didn't get set
properly
And it would have been
called back anyway.
So like his
the outside
shit works. It's just we can't
never get set. So
it makes me wonder, this goes into
the coaching thing, what the hell are we doing in practice?
We got to rip this until they
obviously they're not getting it. Because
when we get to the game, we're called for procedural penalties
at least twice in every
game this year. And we now are in
week four.
That's on coaching.
That's on bad.
That's on Harding.
That's on wit.
That's on coy.
That is coaching.
We're not doing the small things right.
Yeah.
We should be.
That's frustrating because we thought that was the one thing.
That's what we were sold on.
That's what we were sold on.
The disciplinary, everything's going to be buttoned up.
This is the week we should be coming on.
All of the Bryce fans should have their buffs on.
We should be celebrating.
Oh, my God.
Bryce looks like he's turned the corner.
Bryce almost threw 300 yards passing on the top five defense
with everybody before that game said they wanted to see Bryce pass on a competent defense.
He gives you that type of fucking game.
And then you absolutely between the coaches and the penalties, absolutely blow it.
And now we can't really celebrate the game because it was a loss.
We can say, yeah, Bryce played well and we hope that he builds on it against Minnesota.
but at the end of the day, when you pull up the box score, they're going to say,
yeah, he did all that, but he lost.
Well, and that's the thing.
Like, so winning and losing is binary, right?
Like, that's it.
And when you win a game, you assess it with nuance and criticism regardless, right?
So Western, obviously, critiqued heavily, Oklahoma even, critiqued heavily.
You've, critiqued heavily.
When you lose.
it's this immediate to pull the negativity right so um i think it's okay like again i'm looking ahead
you can be upset about iowa like i'm fine with that but i'm not going to pretend like the stuff
that went well didn't like i'm not um and at some point again i appreciate what wit today put
everything on the coaches, just like we're talking about.
He said what Michigan fans are feeling.
He talked about we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
The thoughtless penalties being a concern, you know, all of this stuff.
But at some point, like, you're a third of the way through the year already.
Like, football's fast, man.
You know, football's fast.
You look up and his go.
Yeah.
So my thought all year has been, we've been talking about the five and O to the by week and then getting Penn State.
Like you said Penn State lost to Wisconsin.
That's a massive loss for them when they only have two real games on the schedule in USC and us, right?
So they'll have the USC white out game and then Michigan.
This is Michigan's first road game, though, of the year, too.
So that's going to be an interesting test for a turn.
You just brought it out if Michigan comes out flat, right?
Which Michigan's come out flat on the road for 20 years, it seems like.
That was a hardball staple, too, that just.
always drove me insane.
Yeah, that's a game they got to go in and win comfortably and show some improvement
like they did Western to Oklahoma.
And then you go to the buy and get healthy at a couple spots.
But, yeah, my biggest concern continues to be the situational stuff from the staff,
again, where it's like it feels like they got caught off guard,
where everything was working.
They were dominating Iowa.
and then they're looking up at the scoreboard like what's going on why is this happening
and you know somebody had brought up not kicking the field goal on that fourth and one play
if they had kicked the field goal i think we would have been complaining in the moment you can't
settle for field goals against iowa right i'm fine going for it there how is your call to have
bryce leaping over like that and then you know what he's thinking i can't turn the ball over i can't
expose it so he reaches for a second and then pulls it back in like have like there's just got to be again
to your point more creativity um yeah this too production from the tight end me and justin were talking
about this this morning um again back to the reverting thing with the staff
avery gatch was great in this game beagle's been great the players playing the rhino
have been good them personally but with this formation if you were going to
rhino and it's like do we have to to get the run game going i'd buy into it more right but it's not
getting the run game going they're not good in pass pro and you're taking an eligible receiver off
the field so for the love of god zach marshall hogan hanson put them in at the inline tight end
hansen has been fantastic through two weeks run blocking and he's a passing weapon right this this
revert back to Rhino above 50% snaps, the lack of rotation at defensive edge, the lack of
rotation in the secondary. I think Hill, Snowden, and Bear, maybe except Barry missed one.
But I think they all played like every snap of the game. It's just crazy stuff like that.
Trevor, do you realize I just want to put in perspective because I saw a comment like a
King Barclays well and all they, and I know that was satire and everybody's upset.
But I just want to allow me to indulge you a little bit, right?
Do you realize that when you really break down the yards passing and throwing the time of possession,
that is a NFL output?
Like, that's a top output where you should be pretty much any team.
If somebody turned on the tape and they saw a team almost put up 500 yards of offense and they were kind of balanced with it, three to two, right?
Three through the air, two on the ground.
And you took the logos off.
They'd be like, well, Team A should have won this game.
They almost had 40 minutes of possession.
So while I critique the coaches, once I said, I said, that caught a hell of a game for three quarters and a half.
Just like it was Bryce's best game in a Michigan uniform,
it was Beck's best called game.
For most of the game, yeah.
And then it, it's like, I don't know,
the light bulb went off.
I don't know what the hell happened.
But then it became a bad game.
And then Jay Hill,
why are we running QB Spy Pressman on fourth down?
When they got to throw the ball 20 yards.
This kid is not running 20 yards.
he's not a mobile quarterback what are we spying for either bring them on the blitz or put an extra
defender in the back we don't need a spy respectfully it is not happening he's not running
like these are the brain head stuff that i'm sitting there and i'm like what are we doing so
the only thing i can hope for is like you said when they almost lost a western which a lot of us
Michigan fans felt like we lost the game, but we wasn't going to apologize for the win.
It seemed like the next week against Oklahoma, they came out understanding some things from
that game. The only thing I can hope is that they're going to turn on this tape or they've
already done it because I think tape review for them is on Sundays.
Right. They turn on this tape and they say there was a lot of meat left on the bone.
We really should have buried this team.
and I think you talk about it a lot.
Shout out to you in the article,
the great articles that you write over
at blueby 90.com,
once again, another shameful plug.
But I don't remember what it was before this game.
But I think you told us one time,
like penalties had killed like 10 extra drives
or something like that.
Plays, yeah.
So they had,
Um, four, they had four offensive first downs taken away in the Western game,
which accounts for at least 12 plays, but that doesn't account for more first yards,
more points, right?
I think it was three in this one.
So like, and that first down procedure, I'm almost certain we got a procedure penalty
when we was driving to run time off the clock, which gave them the ball back.
So like, oh, give my.
rant now. This is what I think this is. And y'all can call me hyperbolic in the chat.
Oh, big, big farm. I'm with you on that. I love Moa. Moa absolutely. Look, I'll give Marsh the
benefit of the doubt on the pick and say, boy, at first I was all over Marsh. I'm like,
it's Marshfall. When I went back and saw it, um, when I rewatched all 22,
yesterday i'll give marsh the benefit of the doubt and say that it's it's uh bryce's fault the only
thing i will tell you on the pick that bryce through is it does seem like marsh and buchanan are
running the same route and you should never have two receivers in the same area so i'm not sure
if marsh run the wrong route and bryce identified the defense and said this should be a back
shoulder fade and marsh took he thought he was going to take his defender through the end zone and his defender
just stopped or if I'll give it 50-50 on that.
The Moa shit was definitely Moe's fault.
That was the wrong route that Moor was running on that defense.
But he's a true freshman.
You got to give him time to be able to understand the defense, right?
Because it's a choice route.
And the quarterback and the wide receiver have to see the same thing in the same
defense.
Here's my rank.
My last rant, and we're on the Minnesota as far as I'm concerned.
right now, and I told this to Trevor, and I don't remember, Trevor, if you responded in the group or not.
I think Michigan is super talented.
I think they have definitely top 15 talent in the nation when it comes to this roster.
I think this is a bad football team overall.
And the reason why you can have a great talented roster and be a bad football team.
they don't do the fundamentals right and that causes you losses at the end of the day.
Penalties, not paying attention to detail.
These are traits that good teams have that they don't do.
They're very buttoned up.
They pay attention to detail.
They don't cause a lot of penalties to beat themselves.
They don't give up freebies on kick returns.
They don't make penalties on punt returns to give teams first downs, those type of mistakes.
They don't make selfish penalties at the end of the game when you know a team.
You've just got one of the biggest stops.
It's now fourth and 12 from the 50, and you get an unsportsmanlike conduct privilege to give them a new first down.
Bad teams do that.
Can Michigan evolve to catch up to be a good team with good talent?
Absolutely.
It's just week four.
We're just one quarter through the season.
But right now, as we look at this, they are overall a bad football team.
And the only thing I can pray is that Witt, who, this is what we were sold on, Trevor, Utah team buttoned up.
They don't commit penalties.
They don't beat themselves.
The only thing I can hope is that Witt gets his hand around this team and says, look, guys, either we're going to stop the mental mistakes that's causing us to lose games and putting us in these situations, or we're going to bring some guys.
guys in they get it right because we have some guys on the bench we might not want to play them
but we have some guys on a bench that maybe get it because the penalties have been at every game
thing it's not like a one-off where you can be like oh it's just a one-off they just had a bad day
no we've been getting penalties all here we've been making bonehead decisions all year so i'm not
out on michigan i told you treb i thought to see the ceiling was 10 and 2
the floor being nine and three because there was a nine and three team last year.
That's still possible.
I mean, if they lose all three big games, not eight and four.
But I still think this team could be a nine and three, ten, and two.
Maybe they pop a team in those, the big three that we're not expected.
Maybe they be the Indiana, Ohio State.
Maybe they be the Indiana, Oregon.
I don't know.
We'll get to that.
But they have to get better at the fundamentals of football if they want to be a good team.
Right now, they're not good at that.
And I don't know.
A lot of people want to blame it on youth, but I just can't put everything on that they're young.
Like I feel like that's an excuse because I'm watching other teams who's just as young, not have those same mistakes.
So at some point, the captains, the coaches have to look in the mirror of themselves and say,
hey, guys, we have to step it up.
We're not playing up to our talent.
We're playing below our talent.
But they were the best team.
They were the more talented team Saturday.
They were not the best team Saturday.
And that's why they lost.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
I mean,
everybody's inside their opinion, man.
I think it's a complete overreaction.
You're talking about a game in the margins.
They weren't the best team Saturday.
They weren't the best team Saturday.
Iowa goes 90 yards with a minute 47 left, right?
With a hands-to-the-face penalty that was fandom, a terrible, yes.
self-inflicted wound by Barry, another tipball crazy thing that goes Iowa's way, a dropped
interception by Smith-Snowan, an injury that allows two free seconds that otherwise would
allow the clock to run off, and a perfect back-shoulder throw to Reese Vandersey where he taps
his foot in. If any of those things don't happen, we're celebrating a Michigan win where they
just had the best offensive production against Iowa. Any team has seen in six years. The defense held
them to 200 yards, right?
That's why I'm saying we got to go big picture.
The loss sucks.
And it's Michigan's fault.
And they gave Iowa that opportunity.
But I just like, I can't go that far off, man.
In a margin play.
Let me ask you this question, Trevor.
Have you ever heard the saying like the better team didn't win today?
Yeah, but you just said they weren't the better team.
That's what I'm telling you.
What I'm saying is...
You said they weren't the better team.
They were the most talented team, but they didn't make the play.
Like, the better team...
Is she going to a better team than Iowa?
Talent-wise, yes.
Are they a better team than Iowa?
Talent-wise, yes.
So Iowa's a better team.
I think they're more buttoned-up team.
Crazy.
I can take...
Okay, so Trevor, hear me out.
Because I get what you saying.
I can take a...
If Michigan is in a hostile environment and Jake Ganeer gets a false start,
I'm not jumping down Jake Ganeer's throat because he got a false start.
Okay.
So when Iowa, when you brought up the fall start that Iowa got,
I understood it because I was there and I'm listening to how loud the damn crowd is.
That's the whole reason why you play at home.
Yeah.
I'm not saying to some-missible.
I'm not disagree.
Michigan has some self-inflicted penalties, but you said Iowa is the better team.
They were the better team Saturday.
I think Iowa did what they needed.
I'll leave it at that.
Okay, I'll go, I'll split the baby with you.
Michigan's the better team.
Split the baby.
Yeah, yeah, I split the baby with you.
Michigan's the better team.
Iowa was the more abundant-up team to play winning football.
Michigan did not play winning football Saturday.
Because if they would have played winning football,
that adjusted score that you saw, 28 to 14,
it would have been like 28 to 7.
good teams don't give up damn kick sixes after you just scored bro you had you went from the crowd
i've never seen this before trevor and it was live so it was like damn i'm experiencing all these
emotions at the same time we literally was still celebrating the damn touchdown that twice
and them had just scored and they ran a kick six wet it's like bro what are we doing yeah you had a coach
Did you hear Kurt Prince at halftime?
Did you hear what he said?
What?
They interview Kurt Farrants and ask Kurt Farrants,
what is Iowa need to do at halftime?
He literally said,
I don't know, we got to find a way to stop Bryce Underwood.
When have you ever heard a coach say that?
He said, I don't know how are we going to stop this kid.
dude i uh i like i got to call this up too because again i know people are upset so some of the
revisionist history has been crazy to me a jim harbaw team iowa never wins that game what you guys
forgot they did you forgot 2016 like were y'all around for that yeah Bryce underwood's not
throwing for 300 yards of jim harbaw's head coach remember the willms how many we've talked about
this and stuff leading up to like,
um,
people forget,
even in the 23 season,
how many times we went to half time exactly like this game where we're like,
man,
we're dominating the stat sheet.
Why is this so close?
Why is this so close?
But that was Jim's plan in the end.
We were going to wear them down.
They had a loaded roster with ton of depth.
They were big,
experienced, old, physical.
And they were going to run the ball down your throat and finish the game late.
that's what this team is really lacking right now.
You didn't lose.
Oh, and by the way, the original,
I know if you're trying to troll or what.
You didn't lose the game because Bryce threw the ball too much.
Go back and rewatch the game.
You couldn't run on them if you tried.
They put eight, nine in the box so you couldn't run on them.
So running the ball would have been a typical Jim Harbaugh-like game,
and you probably would have lost it seven to three.
And again, they did.
that field goal 11 plays nine of them were runs they did try to run the ball late
Bill Parker was like no sir you're not doing that yeah you better beat me with your arm
because I don't think you that good see that's what people don't realize when when a team is
putting eight and nine in the box what they're telling you is they don't believe your
quarterback is any good they don't think he can make the that's why Bryce was able to cook
because they like this dude can't fucking beat us with his arm let's
just stopped him from running the ball.
Oh, and he was doing so good at letting, and JJ and Marsh both are so good at finding
gaps in zone.
So, like, they, they were just cooking that first half.
Can you look up real quick for the audience when the last time we had two receivers
over 100 yards?
I think I actually had that somewhere, but I'll look it up.
Interesting thing on the run game, too.
So, you know, both backs were in that four or five yard per carry range for a while.
But the thing that was really exciting for me.
So 43% success rate, only stuffed on 10% of runs, pretty good.
But minus in the PPA category, which is brutal.
But no, Marshall had 3.82 per attempt.
Heider had 44 yards on 14 carries.
So about the same.
They're both getting about four yards after contact.
The problem is, again, on these slow developing plays,
they're getting met at the line of scrimmage a lot of times.
and, you know, I get that's the scheme thing with back or whatever, but that's still,
that still frustrates me a little bit that, like, we can't just,
just do one straight give.
Like, I get the RPO and the reads as part of the offense, but, like, we got to go Wildcat
to be able to get the running back downhill quickly.
It's the only play they have.
Again, I hate it, but if it works, fine, do it, I guess.
You know, let me look this up.
I wonder, is it a, I hate to bring this up, because this is going to give you nightmares, Trevor.
I wonder when it comes to this O'Lon, is it a rich-or-d-rise situation where these guys are just equipped to run like duo and like North and South type stuff?
And they're not equipped because I did hear, I mean, this is all coach talk, right?
I think somebody said the TCU game and it looks like that might be correct.
Oh, there's your Iowa game for Jim Harbaugh.
Went in and you definitely was the more talented team and got sent home in the playoffs.
But anyways, because I saw Witt saying, like, we need some help on the offense line.
And basically in so many words, like, if we don't have it, we'll go get it in the offseason type thing.
And so I wonder, like, is it, are they having trouble picking up the, like, terminology?
Yeah, it's a complete, it's a complete scheme change.
from duo and zone to mostly gap scheme right so I I read that wrong
Tarek Black Donovan peoples got it I just read these guys I saw I read that
yeah so I mean there's the scheme change it's so interesting to me though because
you know, Sprag will continue to wait and get more clarity on.
I bet they probably would feel good about not playing him this week and then having the bye week.
And part of that is because Evan Link has been great at left tackle the last two games.
Like Frazier has been great at right tackle the last two games.
But Frazier gets hurt and comes back in a week.
I'm not on Marky though.
Marky.
Yeah, the two straight, yeah, the two straight runs after that were both because of him.
You'll show it on the All-22 because I know Toskey loves this more than anything when the lineman gets turned and his butts facing the lane and the running.
He did that on the very first play.
Like, Toskey's going to love that, dude.
Or that was the second play.
First play, he had a chip and he got to the second level.
I'm like, okay, Marky, Marky, Marky.
Marky was, Marky with Marking, man.
So obviously, I was impressed.
the depth is a concern because you've already got Babs been hurt and you know Blake
Frazier getting hurt so but even when Sprague comes back it's like you know does you just
check a phobia out and then Link goes to left guard Fraser back to left and Sprag back to right
yes because that makes the most sense that's what you had at the start of year it's probably
what you've practiced the most but I'll be interested to see if they get creative there just
because of, again, Lincoln Frazier having allowed a pressure in two games.
And it looked good.
I mean, it's weird.
I hope this week, Trevor, is a get right week.
Like I said, after the Western, they came into the Oklahoma game with a consistent,
I mean, with a game plan that made sense and they won the game.
I know people in the comments are screaming.
they be the bad OU team.
Let me explain some Z.
The OU team is bad, but that defense is still good.
That defense is elite.
No matter how you want to, like, swap it out.
The offense is bad.
That defense is elite.
And they're doing it with a bunch of injuries too.
So I'm saying like, hopefully this week,
they took a look at the film and they're like, okay,
we got some things we can build on.
Hopefully that means putting more on Bryce's play.
I'm not telling you that Bryce needs to become.
CJ Stroud.
But what I think Bryce showed you is he is more than capable now of throwing 250, 300 yards,
if you need them to.
He was a top 10 quarterback in college football on Saturday.
Hopefully we can do some better run.
Defense better wake the hell up because, look, I understand they lost the Mississippi State,
but Drake Lindsay looked amazing Saturday.
He was going up and down.
if you give him the deacon dunk stuff, he's going to take it.
He's very sure with the football.
So hopefully Jay Hill has a plan to confuse him.
But, I mean, we have to move on now.
We took the L.
And, you know, I hate to be, I don't know what to call it.
But, like, I think the old saying is in every loss or every defeat, there's a lesson to be learned.
Hopefully they've learned the lesson.
and the coaches step up their coaching this week because they're not absolved of this
and Witt even said it so if the head ball coach is saying that it's on us as the coaching staff
I'm pretty sure when they have their coaching meeting this week Witt probably didn't hold
much back in that meeting as a staff so I didn't really get into we didn't get into it
Trevor can you guys please with the I'm going to just say this and that I shut up on
can y'all please with the whole i see a lot on social media oh i can't believe
bryce turned away from his coach when he was trying to talk to him guys you don't know what the
conversation was you saw the interact you saw a clip from the interaction
bryce is visibly upset because he probably is like why are y'all taking a ball out of my hand
he's a competitor at the end of the day and he wants to win if that's what he was upset about
I agree with them.
Me too.
So,
uh,
Ripstar.
My rehab gives me red jello after I take my meds and I love it.
That's,
I might need to take,
I might need to take some real gel.
Well, no,
not red jell.
Maybe blue.
Let me blue.
Now red jello sounds fantastic.
Any jello.
Uh,
last note,
Bryce,
68% completion,
500 passing yards,
four touchdowns,
one interception.
Uh,
I will say I talk to somebody.
Marsh was supposed to come back.
So,
and it wasn't clock.
I figured that.
I figured that.
That's a sick two games.
So hopefully that continues.
I'm with you.
Give me something with running.
I can't believe.
I think that's probably my frustration.
Two of the things I just did not think we'd have to talk about this year were the penalties and that stuff being cleaned up and being able to run the football.
everything else like I'm pretty pleased with progress um or where it's at and exceeding expectations again
I think situationally you know we we've talked about the Michigan thing where it's like
you know the staff's moving up too right so like a Michigan Iowa game in the big house
that was their first time too experiencing that so what what is the learning curve
on some of that stuff and how long is it going to be?
Like I think we've all known 27 was going to be better than this year in terms of the time it would take for some things to implement.
However, it's still a little shocking that the penalty.
And again, I'm not as hardcore about the penalties in this game as others.
There was only four in the last one.
And I do think, like, if you're holding.
on the play side and the ref sees it like you're you're running the call i get that but man
we're those some soft holding calls bro like yeah so i i don't know we'll see um but yeah i just
hope that i'm sick of talking about it and i'm sure winning yeah is too but like at some
point come on man i just hope that we we we really build because i saw some things that look good
I mean, if Bryce is going to be able to step,
I haven't seen Bryce step up in the pocket that much probably since he's been at Michigan,
kind of being comfortable.
If he's going to step up and roll around and make a defense commit to him because they're scared he's going to run,
you're going to have receivers running open like J.JW.
Kennedy all season for the rest of the season because it's hard to defend that, right?
It's like, do I go with the, he looks like he's about to run.
So do I go with the receiver?
and give up an extra guy or do I commit in and we gang tackle?
And so if he can still, if he can define that,
I think the sky's the limit for this offense.
But we'll have to see, man.
Oh, I didn't talk about this.
This was a good point, too.
Another, like, ugh.
That screen passed, it was a tunnel screen to Marsh.
He was gone, dude.
And the Iowa defender swatted the play.
Like, there has been so many of those this year
where it's like, if this, then that, like, ugh.
Oh, yeah, I saw, we saw that.
So it was like a weird thing.
It was like one of the, the, the, the, Dr. Strange, a million different person.
Like, it's like, he was gone if he would have caught it, but also it might have been pick six if he would have caught it on the swath.
Oh, yeah.
No, he was walking in if the defender would have caught it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I understand both.
I just don't subscribe to the whole.
I think that's some.
I'm going to say it nicely, some baby back shit.
If you go, oh, my God, Bryce almost do a pick.
So we have to just curl up and run the ball.
Like, that's not.
Yeah, I'm okay if, like, we understand our level of criticism for Bryce
has already reached a level where we are now finding why he wasn't perfect.
Right?
Like, it's the concept.
Yeah, he made some mistakes.
He made some mistakes for sure.
Yeah, and I'll acknowledge that.
And if that's the concept.
then great, but it's still by some of trying to bring him down after, again, the context for me matters.
What he went through the Western week to be here now in this short amount of time,
I was going to get props and props to do, dude.
So, yeah.
But yeah, we'll see.
Obviously, we've got a lot of the week left to discuss all of this.
We'll be back tomorrow.
We're talking more post-prose.
press conference stuff, obviously.
Whittingham will go on inside Michigan football.
More things will trickle throughout the day that we'll assess on Tuesday's show.
Make sure you're liking, subscribing, notification bells.
So you know when we go live here on YouTube or if you're listening back on podcast,
appreciate that as well.
Butros and I will be up Wednesday.
Justin and Joel's recap show that they recorded Sunday.
O.G. Blue by 90 show is already posted.
Go check that out.
nothing like listened to a former player and share their frustration because it's always such a cool perspective.
Hey, Justin was pissed off.
I liked that.
He said, I rewatched it.
He started out the podcast and said, I rewatched off the game yesterday.
I am pissed off.
I said, oh, yeah.
I like, too.
Like, Joel's talked about, like, with the rhino thing, he's like, look, it didn't matter if I was wearing an eligible jersey number.
when I went out there, they knew we were running the football.
That's why we only did it 10 or 20% of the time, right?
Or if you're going to give it away and say, look, we're going to run the football,
then you got to be like those teams did in 21 and 23 and be like,
we're going to tell you we're going to run the football and we don't care.
Like, we're still going to rot it on you.
Like, that's how much we can dominate in the trenches.
We don't out manball you.
Yeah.
So, but yeah, we'll continue to assess as we move forward.
Here's some more on some injury chatter.
I don't think there was anything too surprising today.
Beagle will be back and practice Babs is probably next week.
That's good.
That is good.
And maybe that means to do the, they'll test them through the bye week.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Maybe Malachi Lee will be up to speed by the end.
I was going to be really interested to see who came on the field when Frazier went down.
Because my thought was, I knew Lee was.
going to be ready i'm like i wonder if they kick norton to right tackle and evry gatch comes out
and plays guard that's kind of what i thought was going to happen then i saw markey wallbridge like
oh man okay and yeah i thought he played well in a couple snaps he had but anyway
i feel like i'm forgetting something big i can't think of what it is uh grade sessions are
posted i think they will make you feel better it made me feel better to go through some of the
stuff. There's nothing earth-shattering that you don't know in terms of where Michigan lost the
game late. But again, charted Bryce's day thought was really impressive there. Some O-line grades. Again,
some surprising stuff there on the offensive side. The run game, I've got the inside,
outside split and where those carries have been going defensively. Same thing. Again, some
interesting information. So those are live on blueby 90.com. You can check those out.

Screw the AP poll, bro.
I don't even care.
I don't even
absolutely insanity.
When Reddit puts out the every AP voter,
and it's just absolutely wild to me how bad the AP poll has gotten.
It's not just Michigan.
It's across college football.
Preseason polls are stupid.
It impacts the way these guys look at it.
Nobody's watching games all the Saturday.
They're overreacting to some under it.
The AP poll is absolute garbage now.
It's really sad.
So, all right, I think that's it, Darno.
got anything um make sure you guys get over to i don't know when that's going to happen i know

And, oh, I know what you're talking about.
Yeah, I got a message him today.
Yeah, that's pretty much it all I had.
Justin needs to send me a picture.
Everybody go take a shot, finish out the week.
I will say this.
Oh, I don't have to eat hot wings.
Oh, no, yes, you do.
Because we, we, you and Boudros got to eat those hot wings.
Because because y'all didn't honor it, bad things, bad juju
kidding me.
Bad juju things happen because you didn't honor.
So you and Boutros have to eat those hot wings.
You don't got to eat the hottest hot wings,
but you got to eat those hot wings to a tone for y'all missing last week.
Because if y'all would ate the hot wings,
we would have probably won by three scores.
But y'all decided not to eat the hot wings because y'all wasn't feeling well.
We got to have the hot wings this week because if we go into Minnesota,
it don't happen.
You have a lot of angry people in the chat.
Let's go say, Trevor.
Y'all, this is now two weeks.
You said she's going to do something, but you didn't do it.
And that's the reason why.
I didn't say I do it.
There was a bet.
We said Mitch, we didn't even do the cover.
He just said Michigan just has to win.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm not talking about that again.
I'm talking about your original, your 50 points against YouTube.
See, Ripstar.
there too. He said he wanted to see y'all eat those wings.
You can't have Ripstar on your side. He's talking about eating jello at rehab. Come on now.
He also told me you want me to need a stack of pancakes. So I mean, I respect it.
But he used to be mad at me because I booted him for spam in a chat once.
Ripstar, I'll make a deal with you. I'll make a deal with you. If Michigan beats two out of three
and the big three, Indiana.
Oregon.
Oregon, Ohio State.
If they win two out of three, whatever happens first, if they win Indiana, Oregon,
if they win Indiana, Ohio State, whenever they get that second win,
I'll come on the show and eat a stack of pancakes.
Oh, come on.
That's what he wanted me to eat a bag of pancakes.
Oh, no, not pancakes.
That's what happened.
Which I have pancakes an hour ago just because.
That's crazy.
That's crazy.
Okay, guys.
Here's the deal.
If Michigan wins two of the big three, I'll eat a steak.
What did you just say?
I'll eat a steak.
Oh, I thought you said since we're just,
since we're just doing cool things for ourselves.
I was going to eat some blazing wings, bro.
Do you know what that would have done to me?
Well, that's cool.
So you got out of eating the blazing wings because they lost.
But the original bet was you was just eating hot wings.
Yeah, it wouldn't have been that bad.
So now, that don't mean because you still have to eat the hot wings, just not the brazen.
I probably would have done some mango habanero maybe.
Yeah.
I have a little sweet with the heat.
We start saying death pancakes.
There you go.
So, okay, we've gone like twice as long as normal.
Steaking eggs, Trevor, for two out of three.
Hell yeah.
Steaking eggs is underrated, dude.
sure it's medium, Trevor, so that you don't piss off Darbo.
Medium rare.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah. Can I have my steak well done with some ketchup?
Is Darbo still in here?
Yeah, he's still there.
It's his fault, too.
Okay, there you go.
All right.
All right.
Well, we just rambling now, but see you guys.
Every show I just start rambling.
Yeah, see you guys tomorrow.
I'll be in a little bit less angry,
spirits because I have to prepare for the all 22.
Luke Fickle named Paul Bear Bryant, National Coach of the Week.
Who to thunk it?
Hilarious.
17 point comeback win for Wisconsin at Beaver Stadium.
Hilarious.
Again, I think every fan base has something they're upset about at this point.
It's just the way it is.
Okay, let's get out of here.
All right, guys, thank you for joining us.
Thank you for venting with us.
I'll have the show posted shortly for Spotify folks.
I see somebody just said they missed it.
Otherwise, we'll be back tomorrow at sometime, 10, 30, 11, 30.
We'll see.
Who knows what will happen?
We're on that time zone, darno.
Oh, okay.
All right, guys, thanks for watching.
Rise of Victors, Blue by 90.
We'll see you tomorrow.
Go Blue.
Go Blue.
