Blurry Creatures - EP: 466 Inside Hollywood's Babylon System from a Child Actor Who Escaped with Todd Coconato

Episode Date: September 22, 2026

The stage where they hand out the Oscars sits on a plaza built to echo the Court of Babylon. Todd Coconato has been inside that world since he was eight years old, a child actor on studio sets who gre...w into the LA club scene and all the money and access that came with it. He says there is a reason so many of the people he ran with died young or lost their minds. Hollywood sells itself as the definition of success, and Todd got close enough to see what actually fills that void, and what never can. Then came the night that changed everything. Stabbed nine times, once in the heart, he heard the audible voice of God on the way to the hospital and walked out a different man. Today he pastors a church in Nashville and pulls back the curtain on the industry that raised him. Luke and Nate get into the studios and the gatekeepers, Operation Mockingbird and predictive programming, the cost of refusing to play along, and why a remnant armed with nothing but a small stone still terrifies the giant. It is one of the most candid Hollywood conversations the show has hosted and one of the more remarkable testimonies of God's redemption you will ever hear. Starting point is 00:00:00 You know, Luke, they say dogs can see things that humans can see. Like what, Nathan? Like they can see into the spiritual realm, like all the blurry stuff. Starting point is 00:02:02 A lot of us are looking and saying, hey, I don't want to wear that same thing I wore all last fall. I want some 100% Mongolian cashmere sweaters to start at $60. That's right. I want premium pants, fitted teas and polos. All these things we found at Quinn's. That's right. Everything at Queens is 50 to 80% off from other similar brands.

That's Q-U-I-N-C-C-E dot com. Quins.com slash blurry. You know that when they have the Oscars, have you ever heard that they actually made that area into the court of Babylon.
Starting point is 00:03:00 You can look it up. If you go to Hollywood and Highland, it's actually the court of Babylon, okay? And people go down and they bow down on Hollywood Boulevard to get their hands in, and then they give them these idle statues. Our generation was told, this is success. This is who you should aspire to.
Starting point is 00:03:17 This is success. Well, I got to see that's not success. Look how many of them die prematurely. Look how many of them go literally crazy in their mind and get like totally whacked out. Yeah. Why does that happen? Because there's only,
Starting point is 00:03:27 Only one true void filler. Hollywood or Hollywood? We don't know. But we're bringing on a childhood actor who's converted now pastor. Tell us what it was like growing up in Hollywood. What happens when an angel shows up in your bedroom and how does that change the way you see the world and operate?
Starting point is 00:03:42 Pastor Todd Cooganado joins us today. To unpack that and so much more as we dive deep into the elitism, the darkness of Hollywood, and what it means to be a remnant in these days. The history of our Earth is so different from what we can imagine. Joy to join. The Smithsonian, if they found out about a large skeleton somewhere, was to go get it. I'm going to assume at least one person is right, because if one person's right, it's
Starting point is 00:04:10 right to bust the paradigm. It all goes back to the fallen chair. And the problem with the modern-day church, they have a very truncated view of the supernatural. This backdrop that's just pregnant with all kinds of meaning associated with this Mount Hermann event. Welcome to all the preacher. And this guy defects from the kingdom. That's a big deal. You know, I said, I'm going to be on this podcast called Burry Creatures.
Starting point is 00:04:42 Like all the older people look at me like, I'm nuts. And then the young people are like, yeah. It's like, well, I can tell the difference in the audience. We're excited, though. I feel like we're dressed like the men in black today, but we're going to interview Todd Coconado, who you are a man of many hats. Yeah. And you wore a hat today.
Starting point is 00:05:01 I wore a hat. I appreciate that. Yeah, we did not. This is a singer, pastor, author, all the things. Nate got really into growing his hair out for a while. And so he was like just doing the hair. It looks good. But now he's the hair guy.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Yeah. And I decided I wasn't going to go hair today. I thought you would go hair. But here we are. Big on the lettuce. But no, Todd, you're a pastor, evangelist, author. You're local here. So you're here in Nashville, Tennessee, Remnant Revival Church.
Starting point is 00:05:26 You've got a podcast. And we actually did your show. This is a fun connection at NRB. We got to do, we got to spend some time with you. you've got an amazing story and testimony and would love to go back to the 80s and just kind of get into it. Yeah, what are thoughts on Bigfoot? And then we can go from there. You know, here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:05:45 I mean, I think that a lot of people are having supernatural experiences and they're looking for answers, you know, and that's why a podcast like yours is doing so well. And people are looking for real and truth. And there's a lot of people, if you talk about Bigfoot, you're going to be surprised how many people have had experiences like this that don't say anything. thing because they're worried about people thinking, oh, you know, you're crazy. You see, in the old religious version of the church, which the one that I walked into where I was sweating and like felt totally out of place being a club kid from L.A. who was getting off of MDMA and partying like church was the last place that I ever thought I'd find myself.
Starting point is 00:06:21 So there's a lot of people that love God and have probably had experiences like a Bigfoot or UFO or things like that. And they're looking for answers and Christians need to be open to speaking about those things. That's what I think. And speaking of like childhood actors and not wanting to talk about things. I mean, this is sort of the topic that people don't talk about is Hollywood and all the weird stuff that goes on there. And so I'm sure we're going tiptoe around some of these things because, you know, I think people often don't want to share their, maybe an encounter with UFO or a Bigfoot or a creature or maybe they were part of some sort of exorcism or something. And they sort of shake in a way that they're like, I probably shouldn't talk about this.
Starting point is 00:06:58 I think you're right. I think that and when you give people permission to talk about these things, you'd be surprised about regular, everyday authors, theologians will say, yeah, I saw this creature. And it's not so weird, right? But take us back to when you were a child, because we were talking off air when we did your show about how you were hanging with some of these 80s kids that we grew up watching these movies and these characters, hanging with Corey Feldman. Yeah, been to his house a couple times. Yeah. Yeah, he was such a staple, yeah, of all those movies and a lot of those guys were.
Starting point is 00:07:32 But we all kind of knew there was something else going on there. Well, now he's a phenomenal guitar player these days. Now his music is just legendary. It's very progressive. But tell us your story about, you know, kind of growing up in those. I mean, obviously we're this, we rolled with this 80s theme here. Yes. Kind of taking it maybe a little too far.
Starting point is 00:07:51 But you lived here. It's all part of your testimony, too. I mean, this is you come out of, as you said, LA and in Hollywood, which is this, you know, we've talked about Hollywood, have been on the show and some of the things that go on there. There's conspiracy theories and all the stuff about, you know, what's happening there. You've got all the weird stuff with, you know, spirit cooking and things that come leaking out of this space, right?
Starting point is 00:08:17 But you grew up there. And so we'd love to hear your story taught and kind of start where you want, but you were a child actor. I was a child actor. I made it out. And I wasn't famous. I liked to get that right out. You know,
Starting point is 00:08:29 and people say, well, were you famous? No, it wasn't famous. But I knew a lot of famous people. I hung out with a lot of famous people. One of the reasons I don't talk about that that much because I don't really like when people
Starting point is 00:08:38 name drop and like try to position themselves. So I'd rather not say that and let people find out more later. I did it for you. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. But that being said, I mean,
Starting point is 00:08:47 you know, my mom, so we moved to California when I was like eight, you know, I was from Cincinnati, Ohio. We moved out there. And my mom. Cincinnati. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:54 Skyline chili, baby. Yes. Okay. Continue. Very good. And, you know, my mom met some people and they said, you get your son in acting. That's what people do when they come to California. And so we just happened to find this woman that was a really prominent child manager.
Starting point is 00:09:11 And we had no idea what we were doing. I'm sure my mom had, we just got a tip, like, go to this woman. And she ended up being one of the best managers for young, you know, for kids. So she managed some very famous people. So when you have a manager like that, you go to a lot of the same audition. You sit in the rooms for hours waiting. You know, the parents become friends. So that's kind of how that all started.
Starting point is 00:09:31 And I did a lot of, they call it principal role, but like, you know, when you have a commercial, that's a national commercial, let's say Coke or something like that, and you get what they call principal role. They pay really well. And so I did a lot of stuff like that. I did a lot of guest appearances on shows like General Hospital and, you know, just guest appearances, who's the boss, things like that. But because of that, you know, so a child, when you're not in school, what happens is you
Starting point is 00:09:51 go into this trailer on set, you know, at Paramount. wherever you're at and they do school for the day. And so you would sit with the other kids that are your age or whatever and do school. So it just so happens that maybe Ellisamano was there. Maybe, you know, so you're hanging around these people. You're hanging around their parents. You're getting to know them. And that's a lot of the experience that I had. So it wasn't famous, but, you know, you see the same people over and over again. Then what happens is you become a teen and you start going to the parties. And then you start getting pulled in. They have a lot of mansion parties in Hollywood. That's kind of what you do before you're of age.
Starting point is 00:10:24 You get fake IDs, you start going to the club scene. The LA club scene is probably one of the best in the world. They had these things called underground parties. You go to them. And that's kind of what started pulling me in. So I did that from like eight all the way to like my late teens. And that's when eventually it led up to this apex moment where I got saved. What does that mean?
Starting point is 00:10:47 I met the Lord. Somehow I had this experience where I encountered God in Hawaii. and I came back and for two years, I tried to go to church, but I had no friends. So I went from being like really accepted in Hollywood and going to these A-list clubs and hang around people like B-Rill and Carmen a lecture and all these different people to literally being sitting home with my parents, you know, as a young person and feeling like a loser, to be honest with you, Friday night, I'm listening to my dad's snore down the hallway, you know, fresh from the LAC scene where I'm getting pulled through lines and going into the VIP and
Starting point is 00:11:20 partying and, you know, next thing I'm with my parents. So for two years, I went through that. And basically what happened was one night, I got tired of it. And I kept, my old friends were calling me, when are you going to come back out? You know, when you come back out? So finally I gave into pressure and I went back out. This is like in my early 20s. And when I went out, I ended up going to this place and there was this guy that was on drugs and alcohol. And it's not all his fault. I mean, I'm guilty too, but basically opened the door and this guy stabbed me with a kitchen knife. He just ran out and I didn't even know what to expect. All of a sudden he stabs me. And one of them was in the heart. And I got stabbed eight of their times. It was nine stabs. And what happened was he realized that he was going to kill me. And
Starting point is 00:11:59 he looked at me and I think he had a moment where he came to. And he ends up picking me up. And the girl that he's with, him and her take me to the hospital. Wow. So on the way to the hospital, I have this encounter. And I can't explain it. A preacher is like the last thing. Last, like I never, it never crossed my mind to be a preacher, evangelist, anything like that. But when you have this type of encounter, it's kind of like in the book of Isaiah, where Isaiah is in the presence of God, and, you know, he's undone. And I didn't see God. I heard the audible voice of God, but basically I heard a voice that said, do you want to live or do you want to die? And I said, I want to live. And he said, well, if you live, you got to tell people that I'm real. And for the
Starting point is 00:12:40 rest of your life, you got to serve me. And so what do you say? What do you say when you're, you know, you're in this presence? Did you see God or you just heard it? I did not see him. But it was, it was like white. tunnel vision. So all of a sudden I'm like in this car, this guy's, you know, totally faded, driving, girls in shotgun. I'm in the middle. Just bleeding out like a movie scene, like a movie scene. And so it, you know, I didn't really remember much of it. I just remember seeing him. And it was like that split second. Like what's going to happen? I'm going to die. But then it went to tunnel vision and then everything was just white. And that's when I heard this audible voice. And so when I said yes, I woke up and I was no longer in the car. I was in the hospital.
Starting point is 00:13:20 and this woman looked at me and she's like, you shouldn't be alive. She says, you definitely shouldn't be alive. She said, we just had somebody that was stabbed two times and they died. She said, you got stabbed in the heart and you got stabbed nine times and you live. She said, you're a miracle.
Starting point is 00:13:33 And I knew I was a miracle. So this all of a sudden is like this complete change in my life where now I recognize that God is real. I just had this supernatural encounter and I'm trying to like figure this out now. So remember, I'd already been in church for two years, but I didn't feel like I was accepted. I didn't make any Christian friends.
Starting point is 00:13:49 I felt people were really clicky. You know, for two years, I'd stand in the foyer of this church. And I'm not saying it was a bad church, it was a good church, but people knew each other. They all grew up together. Here I'm coming from like the rave club scene, Hollywood, totally did not, you know, fit in at all. So that's when I went back out. But I'm trying to figure myself out, you know, what just happened.
Starting point is 00:14:09 And after that just led to a journey, which led to today, you know, so. So do you actually clinically die when you end up dying? I think I did. I believe I did. I believe God spared my life. And he said that he said... You were 20? You heard him speak?
Starting point is 00:14:22 It was about 21. You heard him speak? You said? I heard the audible voice of God. He said, what did he say? Do you want to live or do you want to die? One of my favorite stories in the Bible, Luke, is when the centurion just sends this guy off and says, heal my person. And it happens.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Yeah, he got an appointment right away. That's right. That's almost unheard of these days. Yeah. Most of us are trying to figure out, you know, how do we find a doctor? for what ails us. And how do we find a specialist for that? How do we get on the calendar?

Starting point is 00:16:25 Do you say audibly? Are you just thinking these things in the? this space. I feel like I said it. Yeah. And, you know, when I said that, it was like this mandate that was given to me, like, you need to tell people that I'm real. Because obviously, that's like the biggest decision you'll ever make on earth is, okay, is God real, okay, I'm going to serve them. Well, a lot of the NDE's, like, people say they're either like, like, God approaches them from behind and like, if you turn around, you got to stay. Yes. Kind of thing. Or if you see me, or if you want to stay here, you can. Why do you think you get that question? Why do you think
Starting point is 00:16:55 that people can make the decision? I think you have to make. the decision. And I think that everybody's given a choice. And so there's some people, like, I know people that have had these experiences where they said that he was given a choice and decided to stay. Yeah. You know, so I think God gives you that choice. But I felt like my, my journey wasn't done. I always wanted to get married. I always wanted to be a father. That was kind of like what I saw as success. You know, coming from the broken past that I had. I mean, I was in a promiscuous lifestyle, drugs, alcohol addiction. You know, so for me, the dream was, that I was going to have a family someday and, you know, have more a normal life kind of thing.
Starting point is 00:17:33 Yeah. What happens? Do you feel different when you wake up? Like, do you feel like spiritually or, I mean, obviously you've been stabbed? But like, do you feel, does life feel different when you kind of, when you? Everything feels different. There are certain things, I think, that impact your life to a point where you can never go back to the same person.
Starting point is 00:17:50 And one of them is this type, I call it an encounter. You know, if somebody has had an encounter, there's a difference between, like, religion and an encounter. And you don't have to be stabbed nine times, thankfully, to have an encounter. But somebody that has had an encounter, it will absolutely change your life. It's kind of like Paul, the Damascus Road, right? I mean, that's an encounter. And there's no going back.
Starting point is 00:18:10 And the thing is, is like, you know, I tell people, like, don't follow me, follow God. Like, I hope I'm pointing you to God. You know, I'm not perfect. And I'm just like everybody else, you know. But the thing is, is I had this experience so you can't go back. Like, okay, this happened. So you have to deal with it. And then everything else in your life is, you know,
Starting point is 00:18:27 is seen through that perspective, you know, through the lens of that. What happens to that? Does a guy get arrested? What happens to the guy at the stay? Oh my gosh. So this is kind of crazy. So then I go to the police department afterwards, like after I finally recover, you know, we're working through with the detectives and everything. And the detective was like, look, this guy doesn't even have a record. And I'm just trying to tell you, like, if you go after him in court, you're going to be in court for a while because his family, I think they had money and like you're going to be stuck in court for a while. My advice to you is just move forward. That's what he's like.
Starting point is 00:18:57 But meanwhile, I come from this Italian family. I have uncles. Like, let me make a phone call. I got uncles tell me, look, I'm going to come to California. You don't even need to say anything. And honestly, I mean, you're going to send Tony Danza on him. Brother. You're like, I know.
Starting point is 00:19:10 I met Tony Danza a few times. I know. You're all good. Listen, he used to say T&T, Todd and Tony. But, you know, anyways, but here's the thing. Yeah. I feel like because of that encounter, there's something about a biblical forgiveness. and the Lord put this on my heart,
Starting point is 00:19:28 like you've got to forgive this guy. Wow. And I'm like, seriously? Like, and, you know, I came from LA Unified School District. I mean, we used to fight all the time. There was gangs. I got jumped a bunch of times. I mean, it was bad back then.
Starting point is 00:19:37 I mean, we used to have drive-bys at my high school, you know? Like, it was not a good period of time. This was back when like Tupac and Biggie were at war, West Coast, East Coast, Bloods, Crips. You know, everybody thought they were a gangster. I'm in L.A. This was like the alternate Hill Valley. Yeah. So, so, you know, I got a couple of fights in my day.
Starting point is 00:19:55 So I was a fighter. I'm still a fighter, but in a different way, spiritually. But so I wanted to get this guy. Okay, don't get me wrong. But because of the experience and it was so real, I felt like God was telling me you got to forgive. If you can forgive this guy, you're going to be able to forgive anybody. Yeah. Because this guy tried to take your life out.
Starting point is 00:20:13 So I had to, I wrote this letter to him. And I, this was like a crazy thing. And I was like, I forgive you. I don't know if it actually got to him. I went through channels that I hoped it did. And we didn't end up pressing charges. And so I don't know where he is today. Maybe he's watching blurry creatures.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Maybe he's not here anymore. I mean, I heard something along the lines of that he had died, but I don't know if it's true or not. How long do you think your NDE was? Like time wise? Yeah. Like did it feel like pretty quick? Like you walk in and it had to be at least maybe a half hour or more because it went from me being in this car. I don't remember getting the hospital.
Starting point is 00:20:50 I was told that it was like they basically dumped me in the room and like took the car. and they were driving my car. So they had to dump the car somewhere. Okay, the car looked like an absolute blood massacre. I mean, when my mom saw it, she just couldn't stop weeping. So it's like attempted murder, grand theft auto. Seriously. But he saved you, but he literally took you to get saved, which is wild.
Starting point is 00:21:11 That's, I think, the redemption. And even with the detective and everything, they're like, he didn't need to do that kind of thing. You can love you to die. But, you know, the car, I don't know how they found the car. I don't somehow they recovered the car. But from the hospital staff, they were saying that, look, this guy just like basically dumped you here. It was like a movie and then people ran out with the gurney and like somehow I was spared. But it had to be about a half hour, I would say. Man. What happens? So what happens after that?
Starting point is 00:21:33 I know that you talk about like you dealt with some bitterness and things after this situation. And then you and then you have a good, you have an encounter with like some prophetic words. I want to hear this story. This is wild too. So again, my mom was very spiritual. You know, she always would write me these words and put them under my door. You know, these prophetic questions. words and I didn't want to listen to him. She had kicked me out of the house when I was younger, you know, and basically because, you know, I was doing drugs and she found pot and different things. So, you know, she kicked me out, but she'd always give me these prophetic words and I
Starting point is 00:22:04 never wanted to read them. But I would have these weird things where I'd be like there's this one instance where I'm in Hollywood. I'm at a club. And I come out. I'm drunk. And literally it's like, what, two, two, ten or whatever? Is that after the stabbing?
Starting point is 00:22:15 Right after. No, this is before. Okay. But this was leading up. And I just want to occur as like, anybody who's praying for your kid and they're like in deep darkness, you got to understand your prayers matter. Because it was little things like this. So I walked down on Hollywood Boulevard and there was two instances. One time there was this guy, it wasn't Arthur Blessed, but there was this guy just walking down the street like two in the morning with a cross.
Starting point is 00:22:36 And here I am like totally drunk and I'm just like looking and it's like, you know, I'm just encountering God. Like what in the world? Like I knew it was a sign. There was another time I walk out and this woman's just playing worship like at like two something at night. And I just stood there and was just like weeping. because I felt God's presence. So I was being convicted all along the way, but after the stabbing, here's what happens. So I go, there's three different instances. I was, so I went from being in the club scene,
Starting point is 00:23:03 promoting, selling drugs, doing all these illicit things and making very good money. I mean, there would be weekends where I'd make five grand. This is back in the day, 10 grand. You know, so doing really nice, living in a condo in Los Angeles, had a Lexus, had cameras, the whole thing. You know, I was living it up according to the world standards.
Starting point is 00:23:18 But when I gave my heart to the Lord, I had to give that all up, obviously, because I couldn't do any of that anymore. So I had to move home and it was super humbling. Like I had to get a regular job and, you know, I was making like almost minimum wage. So I went from like five grand a weekend to like minimum wage. So I'm living in my parents' house. And so this was all a lot, you know.
Starting point is 00:23:36 But one time I go in and it's Macy's and Burbank. And I'm in the men's department with all these Armenian women because Macy's Burbank is like the Armenia capital of and Romanian people. A lot of them are Christian. So, you know, we're in Los Angeles in Burbank, Macy's. And this woman who you would kind of like central casting of like an old time Pentecostal church, she's got the hat, you know, this little prayer warrior, she comes down into the men's department and she goes, the Lord showed me your face when I was shopping and said to come here and give you a word.
Starting point is 00:24:08 So like all the Armenian people, we're all just saying like, okay, what's this woman going to say, right? And she says, the Lord said, don't let bitterness grow rude in your heart. And she starts quoting scripture. And it was like, all of a sudden it was like, boom, I'm in the presence of God. It doesn't matter that I'm in Macy's like, I know this is from God. And she starts saying, you're going to soar, you know, with wings like an eagle, you're going to run and not grow where he starts quoting scripture and just prophesying over me. And everybody's weeping because we could all sense the presence of God. And then as quick as she came, she left.
Starting point is 00:24:38 And I'm like, okay, what just happened? Right. This is right after I had got stabbed. And then I was rehabilitated back to where I could get back to work basically. Yeah. So then I go to, what was it, 24-hour fitness in Northridge, California. I'm really determined. I used to work out all the time, really determined to get back to the gym. And, you know, so I'm like going back to like 10 pounds. I used to do like big 65, you know,
Starting point is 00:25:00 100 curls. Now I'm doing little curls. So I'm just like, you know, trying to get. And this guy's all tatted up and he's, you know, got sleeves and everything, big buff guy. And so I'm just sitting here doing, you know, mind of my own business. He turns around and he goes, I got a word for you. Okay. And he just starts prophesying at this 24 hour fitness as I'm working out. And here's crazy, trippy thing about the whole thing was it was almost identical to what the woman said. So this is where like, yeah, okay, you know, so I'm just trying to figure out what just happened in my life. I didn't quite yet know if I was going to be a preacher. I just knew something dramatic had happened. I had this encounter. But after something like that, to be real, the devil starts
Starting point is 00:25:40 messing with your head. So like, why did God let that happen? You know, used to be an actor and all this stuff. Now you got stabs, keloid scars all over your body. You know, you're looking at yourself in the mirror like, you know, what just happened in my life? So bitterness did try to come in and questioning God. But that's, I think, why the Lord let these prophetic words happen. And they were so spot on. And they were so the same. And I knew my mom couldn't have put these people up to it. Because how would she know some tatted up guy in 24th hour fitness? Like, no, like, obviously this is God, right? You know, Luke, it's rumored that on top of the pyramids, back in the day, there was a gold capstone. I'm sure it didn't last long.
Starting point is 00:26:26 In the uncertainty of world markets and wars, fiat currency, one thing is to the test of time. What's that? Precious metals. Gold, silver. One of the three gifts you can give someone, fit for a king. Head over to Goldco. Luke and I both got the silver.
Starting point is 00:26:41 We're going gold next. And we're going to protect our assets and you can protect your family's uncertain times. Things are getting crazy. So precious metals are literally the reliable way to diversify your holdings and potentially protect your family's purchasing power when traditional markets. get rocky. Goldco is one of the best and has been trusted with over $3 billion in precious metals for a reason. We got silver. We're getting gold, Nate, and you can too. So right now, they're offering the blurry creatures community, a free gold and silver kit that details
Starting point is 00:27:10 exactly how precious metals can help anchor your hard-earned assets. Qualified accounts could also qualify to get up to 10% back in silver, but it's strictly first come, first serve. So help prepare yourself for whatever's coming down the line. Go to blurrygold.com right now and request your free kit. That's blurrygold.com. So I'm still not 100% convinced. I don't know the exact sequence. I think the 24-hour fitness one was actually the last one.
Starting point is 00:27:43 But there was another one that happened in a coffee shop on Menterre Boulevard. And I was at this coffee shop and there was a guy. And honestly, I thought he was gay because he was like kind of talking that way, you know, but I heard a little bit of his conversation. But I'm sitting here mind my business at the coffee shop. And sure enough, he goes, I got a word for you. I'm like, dude, are you serious? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Again, almost identical. I mean, I'm talking the same scriptures that they're quoting, you know, and this is where it's like how there's no way. Yeah. And already after having the experience that I did and then having this, it come to the point when I had the three identical words that I was kind of like, you know what, Lord, I don't know why this happened, but obviously it happened. I'm going to submit my life to you.
Starting point is 00:28:27 I'm going to just give everything, you know? And at that point, I'm like, well, what do you do if you're a club, you know, drug dealer? You know, all these things. Like, you know, and I found a Bible college in the valley, in the San Fernando Valley. And I enrolled in, and it was crazy because God just started opening doors there. I got under this pastor, Jack Hayford, who was a really solid Bible teacher. And he took a liking to me. I mean, he let me lead the worship very quickly because I was a musician, you know,
Starting point is 00:28:53 within a few months. I was doing worship at the college and seminary. I ended up working for, but I was completely out of my. element, completely out of my element, but I just knew that I had to do this. And so they kind of just led to where I went today. So it's like a six year journey kind of. It's probably longer than that. And why do you think, I mean, how does it sort of shaped your view of God when you kind of look back at your own story and say that like he started a little seed in you and then pursued you prophetic words, near death experience? It's like this whole like, you know, he's he, he wants you on
Starting point is 00:29:28 team big time. Yeah. How do you see that? I think he wants all of us on his team. That's, you know, I think that there's, there's, like I said, there's religion and relationship. Yeah. But the thing is, is like, so the other day, um, I was doing this podcast and all of a sudden I started speaking about some of these things drug use. And I'm going to be honest with you guys. I was ashamed of these things. I was ashamed of the life that I lived. Yeah. Because when I came in the Christian culture, I felt like I needed to be like, you know, this perfect suit wearing white wash. Yeah. So for many. many years, I didn't share the things that had happened in my life. And then I was at a tent crusade one
Starting point is 00:30:04 night and the Holy Spirit just said, you need to just let it all out. You need to just share, you know. And ever since that time where I started sharing these things, I'm telling you, I got DJs from Phoenix reaching out. I got people that I didn't even know, listen to our stuff. And they're like, dude, thank you for sharing this because I've just felt so out of place. There was a whole generation of people in our generation that went to these clubs, underground, parties, bars, promiscuous life, all these things that I've experienced, but for some reason we don't talk about these things. And I don't know why. I think that we're at a time now where we've got to talk about these things. I went to lunch with the Gen Zer the other day, right? And we just had this,
Starting point is 00:30:44 I thought I was going to be ministering to him. Yeah. But he ends up just sharing his heart with me. And he's like, you know, I go to church and he's like, I feel like a lot of preachers are preaching to like the older folks, but they're not preaching to us. And he says, you know, my generation, we're just looking for manly men. We're looking for father figure. We're looking for role models. He says, you know, I don't even know if I want to date. He says, I go on on a date with a girl.
Starting point is 00:31:05 And the girl's like telling me her body count, like it's nothing. You know, like people are in throuples and all these very gross things. And he says, I don't even know what to think about. You know, do I even want a family? I don't even know. And it's like these are the things that people are dealing with, you know, fetnal addiction and their family, all these different things. And for some reason, we haven't addressed these things.
Starting point is 00:31:25 And I think that's the, this is the time. And so I just tell people. like forget about religion. Just you have to have this personal encounter with God. And when you do, your life changes. And it's just so life changing. So that's what it's about for me. Like I don't think it's about a following or a platform or, you know, my, you know, be pastor.
Starting point is 00:31:43 It's just I feel like I have to share this because this is a true experience that I walk through. And it changed my whole life. And it saved me. And I'm going to tell you, a lot of my old friends died, like drug overdoses, different things. One guy was shot in the head. I mean, these are the type of people I was hanging around. You know, so I just realized, like, there's pictures of all my guys from back in the day, my roll dogs. Almost every one of them in the whole picture is dead.
Starting point is 00:32:05 Yeah. You know, and I think to myself, like, why did you give me this chance? And I know why he gave me the chance so I can share the truth. Yeah. You know, so that's what I'm trying to do the best I can, you know. Well, I think it takes a, I think oftentimes a lot of Christians kind of start at the bottom and then they become a pastor and that kind of gets them famous. Yeah. You kind of came out of the exact opposite.
Starting point is 00:32:24 The exact opposite. Yeah. Thank you for saying that because honestly, it's a, it's a, pet peeve of mine. You know, I saw people in the world. So there was this time I was sitting next to, in fact, I just talked to Katie's peer. His dad was on my podcast, you know, he's a friend of mine.
Starting point is 00:32:39 But he just told me this, that him and Britney Spear's mom and Justin Bieber's mom pray once a month, you know? And that is so important to me, but it was just like weird for me because many years ago I was at the real world suite in Vegas when that show was on. And I was sitting next to one of those people. I wouldn't say, oh, but she was with me. She was the biggest probably pop star of that era. Everybody had her poster on the wall, right?
Starting point is 00:33:03 And meanwhile, I'm doing drugs and I'm sitting here next door and just broken, um, insecure, totally disheveled. And I'm thinking, this is what so many people are aspiring to. And yet this isn't even real. And let's go back to Hollywood. So I wrote in my book about the Babylon system. Yeah. But that's basically what how, do you know that when they have the Oscars, literally those
Starting point is 00:33:25 idols that they give out, the, the, the, the course. there on, have you ever heard that they actually made that area into the court of Babylon? Have you ever heard that? You can look it up. If you go to Hollywood and Highland, it's actually the court of Babylon, okay? And people go down and they bow down on Hollywood Boulevard to get their hands in, okay, on this court of Babylon. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:47 And, and, you know, I don't want to get too much into it because it gets conspiratorial, but here's the thing. And then they give them these idle statues. So we, our generation was told this. is success. Like if you become like these people, this is who you should aspire to. This is success. Well, I got to see that's not success. Like those people are some of them, look how many of them die prematurely. Look how many of them go literally crazy in their mind and get like totally whacked out. Why does that happen? Because that, there's only one true void filler that can fill that,
Starting point is 00:34:19 and it's Jesus. So when I see preachers, and I'm not here to like bash the body of Christ, because obviously I'm from the body of Christ and I have a lot of mercy. God's had a lot of mercy on me. But when I see people like making it the goal to make their own kingdom rather than the kingdom, it reminds me, like you said, of what I saw in Hollywood. It's aspiring versus like pointing to the Lord. So I would just implore everybody out there that's doing that, like get right with God because I don't think that we should be making it about us or building our kingdom. It should be about building the king. Well, you're a pastor. I mean, you know the story of the prodigal son, right? So does the younger brother have an easier time accepting the older brother than the older brother
Starting point is 00:34:58 or the younger brother, right? Isn't that the question? Yeah. Yeah. What do you think the older brother is dealing with? Because I think that's what a lot of guys like stay in the church. They do the right things. They didn't have a crazy story.
Starting point is 00:35:11 And they judge all these people like Russell Brand and these people, these Hollywood guys that convert. Yep. And they don't convert right away. It takes some years to kind of understand what they're doing. and there's this huge wave of judgment that comes on these people. I've seen it so many times. So somebody, I knew a well-known singer, and she was in the Lord as a child, and then she was about to come back.
Starting point is 00:35:35 And what happened, this is a true story, is she's trying to come back, and she starts expressing it publicly. And everybody's like, you know, you're in the Illuminati. And she went to her parents, and she's like, look, the gay community accepts me, but when I come into church, this is what I get. So this is why I am. I am. And I think we need to be extremely careful that. To your point, though, people are like, well, I've been good my whole life and I've been serving the Lord and why should we, you know,
Starting point is 00:35:58 this person is broken. But isn't that the gospel message? I mean, didn't he come for the sinner and not for the person who's like the Pharisees, right? So I think if you've managed to be in the church your whole life, like you're in a better position because you don't have all the brokenness that you have to, you know, the baggage. I mean, I'm going to tell you right now, it took me years and I'm still on my journey. I think we all are. But, you know, the Lord's always pulling layers off. help healing my brokenness in different things. But I would say it's both people have brokenness and both have areas where they can do better. But we should try to understand the prodigal and the prodigal should try to understand and we should all understand that that's just our journey.
Starting point is 00:36:37 It's no one had it easier because it's not, but both cases they have to have an encounter. That's the important thing is whether you've been in church your whole life, which is really ideal. Like I'm raising my daughter. I hope she never goes into the world. I hope, you know, she stays on fire for God and becomes, you know, it'd be ideal if she's a preacher or worship, we're great, you know. But the thing is, is that she has to at some point come to her faith on her own. She's about to get baptized, actually, which I'm really excited about. I said, you get baptized when you want to get baptized.
Starting point is 00:37:03 You know, but the thing is, is like, she ultimately has to come to that place. And I think every believer, whether you come from the world and you get radically saved and you have encounter with God or you've been in the church your whole life, everybody's got to come to the point of encounter. And I think we're so sometimes focused on what everybody else is doing. The church is really good at reporting on what the devil is doing. And it's like, meanwhile, God is doing some amazing things. But the main thing we could be doing is how can I be better?
Starting point is 00:37:30 Like, how can I be more loving in the Lord? How can I be more doing what the fruit of spirit says to do? If we focused on that, imagine what a better community we would be. So neither one has it easy, but the goal is that we all have an encounter. You know, in this day and age, we're all looking to try to save a buck. Things get expensive. Sometimes times get hard. And oftentimes I think we're trying to unravel mysteries here, but sometimes the biggest mystery is what's going on in our financial world? What's going on in our bank account? What do we spend in money on that we don't realize we've subscribed to
Starting point is 00:38:06 or we're paying for on a monthly basis? And for us, the easy button, the easy answer to that has been rocket money. Yeah. What is a cooler party to go to?
Starting point is 00:39:51 So you're in that world. Yeah, I was going to ask you about that. I know you said before that God gave you Satan's playbook that you understood. And as much as you can talk about Hollywood, what is in your experience and what you lived through? What is what's the strategy in Hollywood in your mind from like from the enemy? What are they what are the, what's the playbook? It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:40:14 So I mean, you could look at the history of Hollywood, but there was basically four, kind of like four families that became four studios. It's very Italian. Yeah. But they're not Italian. Kind of like that. Yeah. The family part is.
Starting point is 00:40:24 Yeah. Mainly, I mean, a lot of the same studios that were there in the beginning are still around, you know, just in different forms or mergers or things like that. But when the American culture went into the initial film process, like the early 1900s and then there was actually, they used to have these almost like boards that would be from church, you know, church people would say, hey, that's too promiscuous or that's too sec. And they would kind of curate what would come out of Hollywood. Yeah. And that changed basically in the 50s. It was a major about face that Hollywood did. The women's live movement was happening.
Starting point is 00:40:56 There was a lot of different cultural changes. And in that period, those guardrails came off. And Hollywood completely shifted into a much more kind of a propagandized leading culture into anti-family, anti-God. And you can look at the progression of society. But we went from a mainly Protestant society, God-fearing, much more God-fearing to being hedonistic and, you know, sexually explicit. and they just keep pressing the envelope more and more as they go on and on. But the American dream and all that, a lot of that was created from Hollywood. And you look at the Operation Mockingbird and the Church Commission. I don't know if you guys have ever covered that.
Starting point is 00:41:37 No, let's go. Oh, have you heard about it? I mean, we know Mott Mockingbird for sure. So Operation Mockingbird was this operation where the government admitted and they had this commission that was in our Congress or our leadership of the country. They had these people come and give testimony. And they basically asked, like, does the intelligence community in any way affect what's coming out of Hollywood? Do they have any people in the media? Do they have? Well, it turns out that they're like, yes, we do.
Starting point is 00:42:07 And this is a long time ago. And they said, but, you know, a lot of the things that we would like to share in this meeting, we can't do in public setting. We have to do in closed door meeting with people with clearances because there's more... Like a skiff. We hear about skiffs. Yeah. You know about the skiff.
Starting point is 00:42:19 So they had to have these closed door meetings because apparently there was. Intel people that were. And so they call it predictive programming. But think about with aliens, for instance, and all these things. I heard about disclosure. I kid you not 40 years ago in Hollywood. They were talking about this. And so if you think about Star Trek, Star Wars, all the movies leading up,
Starting point is 00:42:40 that's just putting like little plants in our head that subconsciously is there so that when the time that they want to roll something out, you know, it's already set. And they've done this with so many different things. To me, it sounds like the Patriot Act. Right, because I've read the Mockingbird stuff. And essentially, the hypothesis, as they talk about, was that you could use media in the sense of television to as propaganda. That you could. Powerful.
Starting point is 00:43:06 The war movement, right? That you could actually gain support for the Second World War by propagating. And there's actually a film I watched it on Netflix where they took the biggest directors in Hollywood and had to make war films. That's exactly right. I mean, it's like the Frank Capra, the guys of. of the time and they made him, had him make war films. But just like that, they say, well, we stopped. It never stopped.
Starting point is 00:43:29 It got more, it got more sophisticated. Remember the Patriot Act came out? And they're like, hey, 9-11, we're gonna have to listen to everybody's conversations, so we're gonna keep you safe, but never turned it off. Snowden was the one who said, we never turned it off. And that's how it is. Well, it was a good idea.
Starting point is 00:43:43 And you can say anything about AMK Ultra and the same things. They just, they said, well, it was, it were just proven that you could. And we stopped doing that when the war effort was over. And you're like, no, you didn't. And which is fascinating. So I mean, that's, is that one of the strategies there is this predictive programming that we're saying like as far as the playbook there? Part of the playbook.
Starting point is 00:43:59 A lot of the people. So in my opinion, this work gets in my opinion, but I think that you can't be an A-list Hollywood star unless you've succumb in some way to these things. Like you've basically given, they say that you sell your soul. I don't know if that's the proper term theoretically. But the bottom line is you've signed on the dotted line to where you're able to walk in this level of. deception and be somebody that these people behind the scenes can use. Do you think that like, but do you think that God has his like esters that he puts in there? Yes.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Like they get in, they become A-Listers even though? Well, they shouldn't be there. But usually eventually at some point, they're going to have to make a decision, like a Jim Kabilis or somebody, they're going to have to make a decision where they're like, look, I'm going to stand for righteousness. And at that point, I'd say almost every time I've seen it, they get blacklisted from the point. It's like a Mel Gibson where you're just you're out. Yeah. Yeah, but I mean, you know, thankfully there's alternative.
Starting point is 00:44:54 Now we have the Christian movie world. And so some of those people are able to go and do family things and things like that. But they probably won't be on another Hollywood film. I think the thing we struggle with in our space is that like a lot of these things are nuanced, right? So you have, if you do have a war going on, sometimes they have a plan or they have an operation or a project. And then, you know, God's people, God's angels and God's mission thwarts some of those things. And so they're not always like, once we start this project, that's exactly how it's going to play out. It's like, no, some of these things get taken down.
Starting point is 00:45:30 That's right. It's a war going on. It's a spiritual war. Not every single CIA operation is successful. And to the, and to you're saying, like, is it akin to what you're talking about as coming into agreement? As we talk about like in sort of the, when we grid it out the way that like the supernatural works and talk to deliverance ministers and exorcists, they said they talk about coming into. to agreement making agreements. It's not like selling your soul.
Starting point is 00:45:54 I think this is an interesting point. Right. But you've just agreed. You've opened a door. But there's a people that think, a group of people to think that every single person has made this agreement. Yeah. It's impossible.
Starting point is 00:46:03 No. It's not that coordinated. Some people just can sing. They're not that, yeah. It's not that coordinated. Just like what they refer to as the deep state. It's not that coordinated. Yes.
Starting point is 00:46:11 But there is a group of people that are trying to push towards, I mean, you look at, you have trilateral clinician and all, you get in all that stuff. I mean, there's groups of people, CFR that are doing these types of things. But to your point, often it's thwarted or it doesn't go the way that they wanted it to go. And that's why we as people of God have to understand the power of prayer. Totally. We can pray and can.
Starting point is 00:46:31 Like a lot of times somebody will call me or say in this day, I heard I had this dream. This was going to happen to you. And I say, well, that's probably the Lord giving you instruction how to pray against it. Sure. You know,
Starting point is 00:46:40 and cancel that assignment. Yeah. But the key for us is, you know, David was a man after God's heart. Yeah. And the thing about that, he was a good repenter, right?
Starting point is 00:46:49 So he did a lot of dumb stuff, but he always apologized. me. I mean, like, you know, it's like, so the thing is, is I think God looks at our heart. And when we expose our members to something, okay, where we like say, you know, let's say you're looking so much into the equator, you're looking so much in these things. A lot of times you open yourself up to those things. Yeah. And that's why the Lord says, focus on what's pure, focus on what's righteous. Like, if you do what the main thing is, which is be a soul winner, spread the light of Jesus, you know, stay in the spirit of God, you're not so much exposing. Now, different people
Starting point is 00:47:17 have different ministries, obviously. But the key is, is yes, do we have, it's not. It's not, it's a fixed fight. I mean, it's not, it's not a like, here's like the Tom and Jerry cartoon. Here's Satan. Here's God. Which one, I mean, God is omnipotent, omnipresent, the creator of all things. He's outside of time. Okay. He's the beginning and the end. Satan, Lucifer, created being, created being. And it's not, they're not on a level playing field. It is a fixed fight. So the key is is that we need to know our identity and what we're able to do and accomplish through prayer. So none of these nefarious plans, like yes, they have plans, but I think we've thwarted them multiple times if the body of Christ and people of God would come together and pray that the Lord
Starting point is 00:47:55 responds to the prayers of the righteous. Well, it's, you know, speaking of David, it's like, I think sometimes we, as Christians, we feel like Hollywood is the Philistine army. Right. And there's no way we're going to beat this. It's massive. It's got all this money. It's got these giants. It's literal media giants. Right. And the way that God works often is he just takes one small rock. Yeah. And he brings down that whole thing. And so I think as Christians, we always have to have this understanding of God's math. That's right. It is totally counter to the world's math. Very small rocks. Yeah, very small rocks.
Starting point is 00:48:27 But you know what I'm saying? So it's like even against crazy odds, God can thwart some of these massive plans of the devil. Every odd in my life has been crazy. I mean, I should have lived after the stab. Like there's been so many seasons where it looked like, you know, I was at the last, you know, and all of a sudden God comes through. And I think so many, whenever I go preach somewhere and I say, how many of you have experienced a miracle? It's like 99% of people, usually almost everybody that's had to experience a miracle. And it's like, well, if God did it before, can he do it again?
Starting point is 00:48:57 Yes, of course he can. You know, so I think we just need to know that. And faith is the currency of the kingdom if you think about it. Right. So it's like without faith, you can't please God. But with the faith, you can move mountains. So imagine if you have big faith, right? So, yeah, I think that we're in probably one of the most opportune and disruptive moments in our
Starting point is 00:49:16 lifetime and maybe even in history because everything is shifting right now. think about the last presidential election, what did President Trump's people understand? They understood to go to podcasts. Why? Because podcasts were rising so much in influence that podcasters were getting more views than MSNBC and some of these other. So it's so disruptive. So to your point, there was these gatekeepers in Hollywood and in the industry that for years kind of curated the flow of information and media. And now all of a sudden there's been this opening of the floodgates with new media where you have podcasters and documentary filmmakers and all of a sudden it's like, you know, the internet. And so here's where the enemy is now try to infiltrate is he's put
Starting point is 00:49:55 fake counterfeit podcasters and fake counterfeit because they've understood the power of this now. And so now they're infiltrating this. So this is where we just have to have discernment. Yeah. But it's kind of like the flow. It gets disrupted and then it finds another. Well, you see it. You're like, oh, a certain wife from a certain president had a number one podcast all of a sudden overnight you're like i don't know about those numbers what did you have any conversations with other people in hollywood when you're in the height of it that are like some things off here almost everybody just talking to you like almost everybody you're both hanging out at a party in the corner just having a yeah because we've all heard the stories that have sort of leaked out too about
Starting point is 00:50:34 like beber and and some of the maybe perhaps horrific things that happened to him as a child in the space and like you don't have to get too much to that but these are just all you feel like signposts that are like oh and yeah and yeah okay this this is not just conspiracy or it's conspiratorial like there's there's there's something there's something just profoundly evil that is happening at our kids like this generation of kids kind of understands they make fun of like they'll say like ditty and right right kids are like you know they they they joke they know but it's a joke to them but my my 10-year-old was like, he's kind of gotten Michael Jackson recently. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:14 And he was like, what's up with Michael Jackson? Was he good or bad? And I was like, well, I was like, I think they tried to brand him as bad, but he was a kid who went through the system. Yeah. It really messed him up. And he cared about kids. So from my understanding, is people have never said any, that he did anything.
Starting point is 00:51:32 So I think he was trying to protect kids. Yeah. But I don't know. Perhaps. Who knows? But I don't know. It's hard to say. I mean, I did hear from.
Starting point is 00:51:40 a minister that I know that he was able to minister to him before he died. So, you know, I'm hopeful there. But, you know, he came out of a very interesting childhood. But sometimes you don't, you, you think the good guy's the bad guy. The bad guy's the good guy. And it's the sciop back and forth. If you come out against the system, they will go after you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:58 And they will smear you and accuse you. I was having to coveasel. I mean, he's been smeared up and down for doing sound of freedom. I mean, Mel Gibson, like you said. And after doing the passion. Like these guys, you know, horrible. Yeah. Hardble.
Starting point is 00:52:08 Yeah. Because there was this thing with McCauley Colkin when he was younger, and I guess him and Michael Jackson were friends. And he was trying, Michael was trying to tell his parents, like, you got to be careful. But I don't know. I mean, it doesn't mean you can't get corrupted at some level. But it was an interesting conversation to have with my 10-year-old because he wanted to know. And I was like, I hope that he was a good guy. But this system, this, you don't want to go, being a childhood actor, being a star, being in this as a kid is almost a curse every time.
Starting point is 00:52:37 Especially in the 80s. that period of time. I think there's a little more accountability now. But you had like nexium, you had like you said, Diddy, you had Epstein, you have all these different things. So I think people are more covert at this point because of the conversation that we're now having, but did that casting couch. And I felt really weird in a couple. There would be times when I would be doing an audition like your parents, you know, you have to stay outside. And I'd be like a kid in this room. Thankfully, I don't think anything crazy happened like that, but I think that it could have. And it did happen to many of my friends. That's sad. Yeah. Let me ask you this. Yeah. I mean, you planted a church
Starting point is 00:53:12 for, specifically for Hollywood celebrities that want to know Jesus. That's been that you did, right? In California. Yeah, California. We had that for many years. So, I mean, what are, when people are coming out of that system and wanting to have an encounter with Jesus or wanting to get to know Jesus, like, what kind of, what kind of things are they carrying? What do you, what do you encounter and people are bondage and, I mean, what kind of wounds and, or you can say agreements of those people carrying is they're trying to exit it's pretty significant yeah yeah i mean there's um there's this discussion in the public forum now uh with i think Tulsi gabber was talking about you know mk ultra and some of these programs but you know to your point earlier not it's not so ubiquitous it's
Starting point is 00:53:53 not so like everywhere but the thing is is did it happen i believe it did and there's there's a lot of these people that come out they call it fragmentation yeah multiple personality sure a lot of what happens and there's some people that have done really heavy discussion and research into this that have kind of been like forerunners that before this was like more of a mainstream conversation like there were people that were trying to i think kathleen o'brien was their name but there's like people that have come out you know and and some of the for years yeah yeah yeah talking about this stuff but what they said was pretty real yeah and a lot of people experience it and really when you go through a traumatic experience uh what we found uh you know they call it science but through medical you know
Starting point is 00:54:34 research and things like that is that people tend to put those feelings in like a place, like a fragmentation to where they separate themselves from that traumatic experience so that they can basically function. And so a lot of times when somebody's coming to the Lord, that's where we talk about deliverance and healing. And the Bible talks about this. But we say you got to get up and out. You know, like you got to kind of take that head on and then denounce it in the supernatural
Starting point is 00:54:59 and say, look, the Lord has healed me. Yeah. I talk to more people that have been molested that have had, you know, you know, rapes or that have had, you know, multiple abortions or more people have had these types of experiences than you will ever, I mean, a lot of people that are very put together and you get them behind the room and you start ministering them, you find out they went through. They're just better at, you know, putting that, suppressing it, or maybe they had been healed, but all of us need to, the Lord says that what was meant for evil will be turned around
Starting point is 00:55:25 for good. So the very thing that the devil wanted to use to destroy us, like my stabbing and my past, the Lord will return that around for his good. that you can reach those people. But we have to receive the healing that's available through the Holy Spirit. And that really takes us giving ourselves under the Lord and saying, I accept you as my Lord and Savior.
Starting point is 00:55:46 I need healing. Holy Spirit, heal me. And that's what I had to walk through. I mean, it was just like a process. And I think that once he gets you healed of one thing, okay, now let me heal you this. And it kind of just keeps going until the day that you die. But you're always working through your healing
Starting point is 00:55:59 and letting the Lord minister to you. But that's what, I mean, it was deep darkness. there was a lot of different fragmentation, a lot of different things. And it takes a lot of time. A lot of time you got to spend with some people and walk them through it, you know? Had you not been stabbed?
Starting point is 00:56:12 Do you think you'd still be? No. That's why God let me be stabbed, I think. Because honestly, I get, have I been hurt in church settings? Yes. Have I seen corruption? Yes.
Starting point is 00:56:23 Have I, you know, I'm not talking about offense, but I'm talking about legitimate things that I probably would have walked away. Absolutely. And I think that if I didn't have this experience, I probably wouldn't be as fortified. but because that I know that I know that I know, it's kind of like I've been able to separate
Starting point is 00:56:38 like those things from a personal relationship. It's funny because when I think about the prodigal son, I think about people who party and get into drugs, alcohol. It's like sort of a sin of the flesh. You know what I mean? Like I want to experience, I want to be a flea, we live worldly fleshly, we say. But then you have these judgmental kind of Christian types
Starting point is 00:56:56 that seem to struggle with the sins of the spirit. Yes. I'm jealous. I'm mean, I'm angry, I'm vindictive. I am super judgmental. and there's this combat, but it's like the people that seem to find the rock bottom of the flesh swing hard back in and they run up against these judgmental Christians and they go, well, now I don't know where to go because I know I'm with the Lord, but I don't want to be with you guys.
Starting point is 00:57:22 And we interview a lot of ex-new age people who come into Christianity and go, man, this is just as bad as what I left. What do I do now? You know, and then all the church pew people are like, you're still with the devil. And it's like, you didn't do it. Or not that way. That's not the way to do it. You can be converted, but not this way, you know. Right.
Starting point is 00:57:44 Don't be so excited about it. That's what I think was always hit me with these kind of people that come out publicly. You're too on fire. Yes. And it's like, and sadly, it's like Christians just want to pee on that fire. Man. And like, wow, you need to go through the eight steps of discipleship, which is great. Discipleship needs to happen.
Starting point is 00:57:58 But like, I mean, I were talking. I don't bring this up. sometimes. We're talking to Richie the Barber. I don't know where his faith is right now, but when he came out. He wanted to come back on. He more or less was just like, man, I want to get into deliverance. I want to go help people get free. And it was Christians just be like, you can't do that. You don't have any training. You don't know your Bible. Or you got tattoos. You look like a clown. You're wearing the wrong clothes or you said something. Or you had a little bit of an attitude. So it's this like. I've dealt with this the entire time. I've been a Christian. It gritty. It hurts me. What do you do? How do you
Starting point is 00:58:31 keep that from me. The only answer that I have is like to be the change, you know, I can't really control what anybody else is doing. Like, there's times somebody's like accusing me or something. And it's like, I just try to reach out and be like, bro, can we talk? Like, you didn't even come to me. Like, just let's have a conversation. Can you hear my heart? And they're not open to that. And I think about that's exactly what Jesus dealt with because he was dealing with Pharisees and Sadducees is that religious spirit, you know. So that was like the spirit that basically ended up bringing him to the cross. So it's what we're dealing with today. So I think if you have like a real counter with God, you're going to probably deal with that spirit because that's the same spirit.
Starting point is 00:59:05 So it is sad, but you got to find your tribe. Okay, you got to find people like you guys that get it and that is just going to be cool with you. And like, I'm going to be real. Like if something happened tomorrow, I know this isn't going to happen. But let's say you fell off and all of a sudden you're like in the world and party. I'm not going to be like, oh, Nate, I'm not going to talk to you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:22 You know, that's it. I'm going to cut you off or, you know, you're heathen. Like, I'm going to be like, bro, can we go grab a coffee or let's hang out and figure out what's going on, you know, like that I don't understand why people want. to kick people when they're down. Well, I mean, Noah saves the world and then gets drunk and falls over and his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his, his lot of, there's a lot of speculation when I'm sure.
Starting point is 00:59:44 What I was saying is like, sometimes people fall down. They have a burden. They're trying to help. They're trying to care. Thomas, Peter. Yeah. I mean, let's go through the list, you know. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:54 We're just waiting in the crowd to point the finger, which is exactly who Christ railed against those people. Like you're just waiting for someone to mess up. Did you see God pursuing anybody else in Hollywood along with you? So many people. Like any crazy stories of like because obviously you have a, like a nonstop pursuit for almost a decade. Yeah. And a doozy of a story.
Starting point is 01:00:17 Yeah. But anyone next to you that's like, God's like fighting for them too. I mean, I think so many people, you know, I've seen so many people in Bible studies that you probably would never think would be in a Bible study. Yeah. You know, I mean, I can't even name them all, but I mean, there's just a lot of people. I mean, Mark Wahlberg, you know, so many different people over the years that have been through the Bible studies, you know, erases of, you know, we had eaten Sassoon who's a friend of mine, you know, who's like your father was this. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:46 I mean, there's so many people. But the thing is, is that you got to show them love. Here's the delicate balance. It's like love and being available and being willing to disciple, not judgmental, but still love them enough to say sin is sin. So like if they're messing with new age, you got to say, hey, look, let me, but it's, it's delivery. It's, it's about the delivery. So like, instead of like, you know, hey, let me share something with you. I think that what you're messing with, let me show you why in scripture. And then you kind of got to drop it and they're going to do what they're going to do, but you
Starting point is 01:01:15 be there for them when they have a question. I have so many people, governors, congresspeople that text me. My daughter calls it on the low or whatever. I don't know the word now, but, you know, and people would never know that. I'm not bragging about it. It's like, why are they, why? Because we know what it is. They're looking for spiritual guidance. And there's a lot of pastors that aren't available. You go to like a megachurch and you never even meet the path.
Starting point is 01:01:37 And I'm not bashing on that. There's some very good megachurches. But the reality is that a lot of people can't get to a pastor. Yeah. You know, and so when people find a pastor and they can sense that you are authentic, you know, not perfect, but authentic, they're going to reach out. So it's amazing the influence that the Lord will give you. He'll bring you in rooms that you otherwise would never be in.
Starting point is 01:01:57 He'll put you before people. And I think what that comes down to is the anointing and it comes down to our heart posture. So like God knows what we do in our secret time. God knows what we do not when we're in public, but we're in private. And it's if you're a person in prayer and you get in the word and there's an anointing that comes on you and then favor comes on you. But you always do your best to exude the love of Christ, but you still speak truth, you know. It's interesting because you can feel the burden of Christ where he has, he has the people that believe in him are skeptical. and obviously the religion is skeptical
Starting point is 01:02:29 and he's still trying to keep his mission like everyone's against me at some point right and he's it's kind of a lonely road like everyone says well if you're Chris Pratt you're a fake Christian if you're Mark Wahlberg you're a fake Christian right you can't because you're in Hollywood so you're automatic that
Starting point is 01:02:45 or if you're a mega church pastor you're automatically you know and not everyone you're a shit you got to remember that Daniel was in Babylon right we were talking about this as Babylon as you kind of laid out Daniel was there. That's right.
Starting point is 01:02:58 And only was he there, but he was loyal and then he became the most important person in the kingdom. That's right. We just want to label and we want to know. We want to have these podcasts where we call everybody out. We know every secret. You know what I mean? And for us, it's exhausting because someone will come on our show and maybe they'll have a personal blunder or something. It's like, oh, these guys are not.
Starting point is 01:03:20 It's like as if we are a sum of the person who comes on. the show and I know what that's like. So yeah, you're like, you believe that. We're like, well, we just have somebody to believe that. There's a lot of mercy. There's a lot of mercy. In the Instagram era. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 01:03:39 I mean, the Jesus, they asked her how many times you forgive, you know, 70 times seven, like keep forgiving having, I have to have a lot of mercy because God had so much mercy on me. Sure. So I have to look. And so there's friends in mine that I love dearly, but I don't agree with everything they're saying. Yeah. They may be validating somebody that I'm like,
Starting point is 01:03:57 that person is a total false profit or go on and on. But that doesn't end the friendship. It's just, you know, I share my heart. Like, I'll call them. I think direct conversation is so important. You know, I'll call them and say, hey, I don't necessarily agree with this, but I love you. You know, but here's why, you know, and you can, you know,
Starting point is 01:04:11 but I'll share it. I want to be the friend that speaks the truth. But why do people feel like they got to go out and try to destroy this person's life? Like, the Lord says vengeance is mine. So he's the one that's going to, like when the guy has stabbed me, like I could have tried to kill him. But then I'd probably be in jail right now, right?
Starting point is 01:04:27 But instead the Lord dealt with that man. And what did he do in my life? He expanded the territory, right? So I think that he's going to bless us as we, we're not the person that needs to go out and be the Christian police, okay? A lot of people think, like, I'm the Facebook police or I'm the internet police and they got to go out and enforce that's, that is not our mission. Is there a time to speak truth?
Starting point is 01:04:47 And once in a while, God may put it on you to expose something. Yes, absolutely. But that shouldn't be your main ministry, you know, because if that becomes that, then you sit in that place and you're not doing the main thing. And the main thing, what did he say for us to do? Go and make disciples of the nations, right? Baptist, that's the main thing. So there's all these winds of doctrine and different things that people get caught up in. And I mean, it could be prophecy. Prophecy is good, but then prophecy can be bad if every day you're forced to prophecy and you're not really prophesying what the Lord's saying. Then it becomes flesh. You know, deliverance is good.
Starting point is 01:05:17 But if you make your whole life about demons, you know, you're probably going to be missing some of the blessings. In fact, you will. So I think everything's in. balance and everything's being led by the spirit, you know? Yeah, I feel like the older brother was the Christian police a little bit. Yeah. Can I ask you about August 2021 and your angel encounter? Yeah. So this is an area where people will say, that's not true and that's, you know, but I think this is a, I mean, very blurry story as well I was all in a issue. Yeah, it's a blurry story. So here's the thing. Okay, there's a few times in my walk where I've had supernatural experiences. Of course, one was when I got stabbed.
Starting point is 01:05:54 People will say, that's made up, that's not true. Well, I have stabs all over my body. Like, obviously, I got stabbed. You know, did I have a near-death experience? Absolutely. You know, it was very real to me, and so I'm going to speak about what I experienced. And it was the same thing with this. So, you know, this is many, many years later.
Starting point is 01:06:09 And I was being really pulled into a lot of the political stuff because I was, I felt like politics, I didn't go to politics. Politics came to me. Sure. But what started happening was they were infringing on religious, liberty and freedom. We looked during the, you know, COVID era and all that stuff. There was a lot of stuff. They were closing out churches. In California, they were telling us we couldn't worship because droplets of water were coming out.
Starting point is 01:06:30 You got to shut your church and you can't worship. And so anyway, I started speaking out about it because I felt letting my spirit to do it. And what happened was it was like all of a sudden I got all the, I mean, I was at state capitals and conferences and, you know, and it was good. I think the Lord used it. But one night I'm in bed and, you know, obviously I'm with my wife. And all of a sudden, I think I was asleep, but I don't know if I was awake or asleep, but it was as real. is anything. There's an angel at the edge of my bed. And people say, well, how tall? I don't know, probably seven feet or something, but at the top of the ceiling, right? It was glowing, hard. And it was
Starting point is 01:07:02 glowing, white? Pretty much. Yeah, glowing, you know. And so, and if you look at the Bible, every time when they're having this type of encounter, the first response is like paralyzed with fear. I will tell you that is the kid. I was like, whoa, you know. And then I realized it wasn't a demon. It wasn't something evil because I could sense it was of the Lord. And then there was a piece that came on me. and basically just said two things, come out from among them and be consecrated. And as quick as that was said, it was done. So after that, I'm kind of freaking out, for lack of a better term. I mean, I get up, I'm out of a bed, you know, I go into the other room.
Starting point is 01:07:38 I'm pacing. I'm trying to figure out what just happened. And then this just didn't leave me. I mean, for months and months and months, I'm praying. I'm like, Lord, am I not consecrated? Am I not? And what he was sharing with that, come out from among them. That's the scripture.
Starting point is 01:07:50 And I wrote a whole book on it, by way. But basically it's not to be a lot of the things that we've covered today. He's calling a generation what I believe to be set apart. But to really do what the word is telling us, to the best of our ability, to hunger and thirst for God. Like a remnant? A remnant. There you go. To separate from, you know, we've covered some of these things today.
Starting point is 01:08:13 But like, you know, not every megachurch is bad, but some are not, you know, really preaching the full gospel. And some are super motivational. and summer, you know, I remember when I was pastoring Los Angeles, I met with a group of pastors. And this one pastor comes up to me and he goes, hey, I'm really glad that you're speaking, bully says, I can't preach about all those things. You know, I'm like, what do you mean? You know, I can't cover that subject because if I do, I'd leave half, you know, lose half my church. Yeah. So I'm like, bro, like, what do you mean? Or you'll gain of half. Exactly. Like, just, you got to speak the truth because I feel like
Starting point is 01:08:42 I'm going to stand before lore one day. What if I don't show? And, you know, I'm going to be responsible for that. So I just got to let it go as it will, you know, but that's what's what coming out from among them. It's like, be, you're serving an audience of one. You're serving the Lord. It's not for the approval of man. And your heart has to be right. And then when you do that, you're in the right place before God, you know. So that's what that whole, that whole encounter was at the end, and this was years ago now, but that's really what it came down to. And so then I started this process called consecration. And it's not to be confused with constipation, by the way. Two different things. Okay. But consecration, you start looking at your life.
Starting point is 01:09:20 and you're like, are there areas that maybe I'm not doing everything that God wanted me to do? You know, I had this dream one night and it was so real, but the Lord started taking me through my house. And it was kind of like the ghost of Christmas past, you know, that, but I start going in like rooms and he's showing me things in my house and areas that were open doors, you know? And it really changed me. And it ends over my daughter and my wife. And I'm looking at them. And as husbands, we can admit that sometimes we get mad at our wives and sometimes we don't appreciate them, right? And, you know, I'm sitting and it's like in this dream, she's so precious and she's like an answer to prayer.
Starting point is 01:09:59 And it's literally what I said earlier. Like, this is what you prayed for your whole life. This is why you, you know, just to have this family. And here they are. And then years later, and sometimes you forget that God answered your prayers. And then you're taking them for granted. I'm looking at my daughter just how precious and my wife. And, you know, I think that's what consecration is just like appreciating what God's done.
Starting point is 01:10:18 looking at all the miracles in your life and then getting rid of the areas that are the open doors and that, you know, do I get angry sometimes? Yeah, can I work on that? Yeah. Can I ask the Holy Spirit to help me not to be an angry person? Not to be bitter, not to be jealous, not to be insecure. Like, first thing is admitting the problem. Yeah. And then once you allow God to kind of come into those areas, you start really changing. And it's like you look back at like a few years ago and you're like, man, I can't believe that I was doing that. You know, so it's a process. How do you feel about like modern times now?
Starting point is 01:10:53 Because it's like Hollywood was here. It was in the fiction world. And then somewhere in the last, you know, six years, they crossed. Oh, man. It's like we were now living in the movie. And you've got guys like Spencer Pratt in L.A., like blowing the whistle on all this. Like, dude, this part of the world is messed up.
Starting point is 01:11:14 Yeah. And you saw it decades. ago. What do you think is happening right now? We're in what I call the most disruptive period that I've ever seen because everything is now being disrupted. I mean, you have the way that media is disseminated, disruptive, Hollywood, disrupted. Everything that we've basically seen, government disrupted. AI. Finances, disrupted. I mean, AI is disrupting everything. Think about our whole life. Okay, one of the big questions, obviously, is, are you going to serve the the Lord, who you're going to marry? What's the next one? Your career, right? What are they going to do?
Starting point is 01:11:43 Literally, you have guys like Elon Musk and they're saying, look in the next couple of years. I mean, we're talking like by 2030, the jobs market is going to be so disruptive with AI and robotics. And I mean, thousands and 500, thousands of jobs, millions of jobs are going to be gone. Just poof.
Starting point is 01:11:58 So that's kind of been like our identity, if you think about it. And all of a sudden, that's going to be very disrupted. So you can look at it as like a great disadvantage of like, oh my gosh, like they're trying to roll out digital currencies. We're literally seeing the best system being put together. Sure.
Starting point is 01:12:13 Things that like we didn't understand how they would have. and now we're seeing like, you know, digital passports, vaccine passports and China and all these different things that what they're doing with the social credit score. Like these are all on the horizon. We have all these movies that are popping into our head right now. Yes. Well, I think about the one that when they roll. The Terminator demolition made. When they rolled the VHS in in like in Christian school and they put the Mark of the Beast video on it was like, you got a barcode on your wrist. And they're like, you know, but there were people who were making good films that were like yeah kind of showcasing little snippets of what it's going to. what's going to happen. Yeah, but we've talked about this before. Like, if you look at at the things described in Revelation, there's never been a time in history where these things are possible. And now they are. They're possible. Those technologies have caught. Or just like everyone on the on earth can watch something play out like with the two witnesses. That was not possible. It's not possible. But I think that's also pushed a lot of people into
Starting point is 01:13:06 the church and Bible sales and all these things because people like, oh, the movie is real. Yeah. I'm in the movie. It's the never-ending story. Now I'm reading the book and I'm in the book and I'm in the movie and it's all happening, you know. And there's a big call. People are like converting that you never would think would convert. What do you see happening? People are more open than ever, ever, ever before. So this is where I've changed my thought process. So we would have conferences and I would market to other, you know, the Christian community like, hey, come to our conference. My thought process now is can I somehow reach those club people, the people, you know, we're in Nashville, the people on Broadway.
Starting point is 01:13:44 Yeah. We're, we're, we're, we're, look, I want the unchurched people to come because why? When I'm in a public or, you know, just supermarket, whatever, I'm in a coffee shop.
Starting point is 01:13:53 I'm telling you, I'm on planes. Like, if you start talking to somebody and you start sharing, there was this one situation I was in, like the middle of nowhere. It was like a small airport and I think it was like Springfield or something, but, and there was like one flight back to Nashville, right?
Starting point is 01:14:08 And so that one flight gets canceled. And I'm trying to, I think there was in one other airline that had a flight. And so everybody, from that flight had to get into the line, right? So we're all on this line. This woman looks at me and she goes, I hate you. Like, she's like sitting right behind me, this tatted up woman. She goes, I hate you. And I'm like, what? You know? And she goes, I know who you are and I know what you stand for and I hate you. So I'm like, okay, preacher. Here's like, you know, are you going to be,
Starting point is 01:14:34 are you real or not? Like, can you win this woman over? You know, here's your moment, right? Yeah. So I started praying and I started talking and I said, what do you mean you hate me? She says, well, I'm lesbian and I am Democrat. And I'm. And I'm a Democrat. And I'm, and I'm a Democrat. And And she just starts going through a line of things, which are like opposite of my worldview and everything that I stand for, basically. So I'm like, okay. And so I said, can I talk to you for a minute? And she's like, well, yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:53 I mean, obviously we're in line. Like I have a captive audience. And so I have to deal with her and she has to deal with me. And she's already expressed that she hates me, right? So we start talking. And, you know, I said, let me explain to you why I am who I am. Because I actually understand more than you know, like what you're saying. Like, I actually get it.
Starting point is 01:15:09 I came from not the gay lifestyle, but a similar type of lifestyle. And so I start going through kind of what we shared today, my testimony and the stabbing and how I partied and all these different things and how honestly I don't like a lot of people that call himself Christian because judgmental and all the different things. Yeah, yeah. And so anyway, we get through this like probably half hour presentation where I'm saying this. And she looks and she goes, well, maybe I don't hate you. Maybe I just hate the people that you hate. And so all of a sudden there was like a shift. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:38 Now I would love to tell you that I want her right there and led her to the Lord. She was baptized and spirit airlines. But what it was was I was able to kind of win her over. And I think it was the Holy Spirit that was leading me. But you know why? The testimony. And I thought to that scripture which says, we overcome by the blood of lamb and the word of our testimony. And I thought, this is the thing is like what we do is beat people over the head with the Bible or that religious spirit that you talked about.
Starting point is 01:16:03 And I knew this woman that was like a famous tattoo artist. She started coming in the church. And everybody's telling her she's a witch and she's all these awful things. Yeah. You know, she's like a brand new Christian. And she's like, I just had this encounter with God and I just want to be Christian and hear these Christians are telling me I'm a witch, you know. So anyway, I think that that's where we can all do better as soul winners and as people that
Starting point is 01:16:22 are evangelists and have a heart for people that are lost is to like kind of pulse as, you know, be all things to all people. But how can we be all things to all people? How can, without compromising? Right. You know, how can we be that person to where I can meet this woman who's obviously in a lifestyle all sin, obviously not like somebody I'd probably hang with. But how can I like show her that I'm not judging her in the sense that she thinks,
Starting point is 01:16:45 but yet loving on her. And so anyway, it was a victory for me because I walked away. We gave each other dapp. You know, I don't hate you. And I just think like God's going to put some other people in her path. You know, she's on her journey. What if we thought about it like that? It's hard not to be triggered because I think the religious of Jesus, they were triggered.
Starting point is 01:17:02 Everything he said triggered them. And then Jesus is like, you know, he's obviously showing this emotional regulation. He's saying things like, you know, they don't know what they're doing. Right. And I think we have to do that. The world doesn't know what they're doing. And we have to sort of put that burden back. It's like, this is your mission, God.
Starting point is 01:17:19 I'm just here trying to be as obedient as possible. That's right. And I think the whole system is set up to tribalize us and put us against each other. It's crazy. And it's set up. Yeah, it's set up to make us hate each other and war each other. Yeah. No denominations in heaven.
Starting point is 01:17:32 You're either in or you're out. Yeah. You know, there's not like a Baptist section or Pentecostal section. And with near-death experiences, you realize it's even a little blurry of who gets these moments. And God is the judge and God knows the heart. And we want to be God, really. Yeah. I think a lot of people go to, a lot of narcissistic people go to the church because we want to have, we want to know what the rules are.
Starting point is 01:17:53 We want to impose those on everybody else. Right. What's the motive? Yeah. You know, what's the heart posture behind it? We just think everyone who comes to God has got this pure motive. No. There's a lot of different motives.
Starting point is 01:18:04 I mean, there's a business of Christianity. I hate to say it, but there is. You know, there's a lot of, you know, there's money, there's power, there's influence, there's all different things. And some people see that as, hey, that's my objective. But if we could find God's heart and just be like, hey, you know what, I'm going to wake up today and like, how can I be the best representative, you know, and maybe it's not about, I asked the Lord, I said, why are more people discipling these days?
Starting point is 01:18:25 Because you tell us to go make disciples. And the Lord showed me like, that's because you can't be like, here I am with Johnny at the coffee shop disciple. People want to be on the stage. They want to be with the platform. They want to the audience. And all those things are fine. if you don't make an idol, but what about the time
Starting point is 01:18:38 where somebody's just pouring into something? Takes investment. That's what literally, you know what? Save me when I got first saved, there was a guy and he was a very humble man, family man. He would go to the Mexican restaurant, he would go to a coffee shop and sit with me for hours and lovingly rebuke me and answer my hard questions.
Starting point is 01:18:55 And it was, I don't think that I'd be here today if somebody wouldn't have done that. There was a couple of people that were willing to do that. And I think that sometimes we don't realize, you know, we want like somebody says, well, my Bible said only has, five people. Great. Well, God's entrusted you with five people. Like, how are you going to steward that? Like, what are you going to do with those five people? Are you going to leave?
Starting point is 01:19:13 Jesus had 12. So you're doing pretty good. But he said go and make disciples of all men. Like that's the mandate. That's the mandate. But I think it in our 32nd generation, it's not flashy. It doesn't get you attention. And it requires, it's slow. It requires investment. And it requires person to person. You can't do this on a screen. And I think those things are, I think there's a, that's part of the agenda. you can disconnect people, you can't do discipleship, right? And I, I think that's a pertinent message. We actually, we talked to Robbie about this. This is reminding me of an episode we did last week.
Starting point is 01:19:45 You know, Robbie Galli? Yeah. Yeah, he came out and talked about that. Robbie's big thing is discipleship. And it's, I mean, I have the same same thing. I remember there were older men in my life when I, when I, like, you were talking about your daughter, when I was really made my faith mine. There were season and older men that came into my life and shepherded me and
Starting point is 01:20:04 helped me walk into the thing. things that, and did I have some strain and things? But yeah, absolutely. But they were always like there to, as you say, gently correct course and be like, look, I don't know about that, man. I think maybe, you know, you got to think about what you're doing. Maybe you have to think about the way you're living, et cetera. But yeah, the same way.
Starting point is 01:20:27 I don't know what would have happened with my life. I didn't have men committed to the Lord that decided, hey, I'm going to spend some time and pour into this younger man because I see something. in you, right? You know, and I think that's, people want to hear that. They want to see, like, I see greatness in you. I see, I see what you can be. I think so many young men walking around are desperate for that too.
Starting point is 01:20:46 Desper. Yeah, because all they really want is their father to say, I'm proud of you. That's right. Or I see, I can see that you can be a man. And I, and I think we have an epidemic of fathers that aren't doing that. But I also think that that affirmation also is then echoed by our father in heaven, who says like, you're perfect. Yes.
Starting point is 01:21:08 And you're worth it. And that's why I went to the cross. And I, I mean, I love that. I don't know what it is that's happening in some of these, you know, in the atmosphere. And in Nashville, Franklin and in these spaces. But I do think that there is also a revival of, of everywhere. People being called to disciple, which is just, that is what changes everything. Evil is just like on the doorstep.
Starting point is 01:21:35 now. You open the door and it's open. It's standing right there. It's right. And you're like, oh, man, this is real. I can't slip back into generations where it was kind of underground. Go through the toy aisle of a big box retailer and see what they're trying to sell our kids. I literally did a live one day and I was just walking through it. I'm like, monster this and witchcraft this. And it's like, seriously? Like, these are little kids. I'm a four-year-old. The crazy thing is these kids are taking these things and put them in their house, you know? And it's just like, wow. you know, and so we have to be aware as parents. And you go to like a streaming platform, streaming platform, you look at the kids' content.
Starting point is 01:22:08 It's almost all dragon, witchcraft, sorcery, what? Like, you know, so it's your point, it's literally right before us. It's in, and so we have to recognize this is the reality. This is the reality of our world. But to your point, it's revival is upon us. I mean, I'm careful to say revival, awakening, because a lot of people use the term revival, and it's not really revival. What revival really is is new life, and it starts in our heart.
Starting point is 01:22:32 You know, I mean, I've been in revival for years, you know, I really feel like, you know, we're seeing revival at our, you know, every pastor feels like they're having revival. But it's like, you know, the thing is, is that what revival is is new life, new life. But what we need is an awakening. We need in this country, the only, it's not going to be a political solution. It's got to be the church of Jesus Christ, the people of God, getting back to the main thing, to the mission, all the things that we discussed today and allowing this generation, yes, they're broken. I mean, tattooed. green hair, they're going to be coming the church. Is our church ready? Are we really ready for revival? Are we really ready? We talk about, we talk a big game. But like, I get with my elders and our team, I'm like, when these people start coming through the door, are you going to call on your little security thing? Hey, we got a green hair person and you got to watch them, you know, and they make them feel all awkward until they don't come anymore?
Starting point is 01:23:23 Are you going to show them the love and acceptance? And that's what happened during the last Jesus movement. You know, it was Chuck Smith. you know, his elders and the people in the church, they were super used to things going the way that they go. And here comes these hippies that smell and they're barefoot. And they're trying to come. And it was a battle.
Starting point is 01:23:43 It was a little battle. And that pastor had to make a decision and say, you know what, what am I doing? I have to be the hands and arms of Jesus. And he ends up accepting, you know, some people left the church. But he ends up accepting some of these people that came.
Starting point is 01:23:56 And then what happens? There's this move of God that happens. Explosion. Explosion. So we're so ripe for that right now. and I really think that that's the whole reason why we're still here and the whole reason why God's had mercy
Starting point is 01:24:07 because honestly we don't deserve it as a country but we've been given this almost like reprieve a little extra time and I think it's for us to do this because there is a harvest God cares about these souls and there are so many people that are about to come
Starting point is 01:24:19 and so there are reformers like yourselves that maybe don't look like the typical preacher or the typical person but yet God's saying actually I want to use these reformers because they're speaking to the heart of my heart and they're reaching a group that otherwise would never hear this.
Starting point is 01:24:35 And that's the people that God is going after. And Gen Z is like returning to church. Big time. Especially the men. Yes. Like more so than the women. So there is a hunger, you know, for something authentic. I think, especially authentic.
Starting point is 01:24:52 I think that's what this generation is who has grown up with the internet and the things we didn't have. The internet and screens and phones, they're looking for something that is real. That's it, man. And I think that's why also on the flip side that coin, the New Age is exploding because they would just say, hey, we've got some stuff over here. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:08 And it's real. Yeah. It was like the sorcerers back in the Bible. Yeah. Simon the Sorcercer, bro. Yeah. I think everyone is once, everything's fake, you know. It's like a food, the air, the shows.
Starting point is 01:25:21 And, you know, we're all like now, is that fake? Is that AI? Is that good. Yeah. And now I think a spiritual lane, the good or the bad one, feels a little more real. because it feels a more tangible. It feels like an analog something, and that's what we want.
Starting point is 01:25:38 And I think that, you know, it kind of reminds me, too, of how the church should be sometimes. It's like, you know, I don't think it was a mistake that Jesus, like, walks up on a hill and then starts saying something. It's like, if you want to be a part of this conversation,
Starting point is 01:25:50 you got to do a little something. Yeah. Get up the mountain. And it kind of weeds out some of the tire kickers, naysayers, and the frustrated people. But I think this church is so convenient these days. so it's easy to kind of walk in and make it a social club, country club. I mean, if a poor person walks into a fancy country club down here in Franklin,
Starting point is 01:26:09 people are going to be like, you know. Yeah. We get this attitude at the church of like who's in, who can come and what we do when we're here. And then when the people who need to walk in, walk in, it's a little bizarre. It should be the other way around. No. Like, all you got to do is just put that burden back on, God and that's that's it it's not your responsibility when I came into the church I had come from like
Starting point is 01:26:36 you said one of the best club scenes I mean you had Frisco Miami Europe you know L.A. was like the best club scene you know so these were legit parties I mean you know I'm not glorifying them I'm not glorifying them but you know let's just be real right and so when I came in the church it's not like a party in Tulsa Oklahoma is that what you're saying I don't know nothing wrong with those I'm sure they're good too but but here's the thing you know they were trying to be like MTV, but they were doing a really bad job. Yeah, yeah. You know, there was smoke and mirrors and all these different things, but it was like,
Starting point is 01:27:05 I don't need that. And I was looking for somebody just to be real. Yeah. And thankfully, God led me to somebody who was that could speak my lingo and my language, and that's really what solidified me in my walk. But to your point, I'm... Himself. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:17 He led you right to himself. Yeah. So, you know, the thing is, is I think that people are like bloodhounds. They can, they can sense authenticity at this point. And there has been so much fake and gimmicks and different things. things that I think people are just, you don't have to be perfect, but they need to see that you're legit and that you mean what you say and you say. And a lot of it is not what you say. It's what you do. Yeah. You know, they're looking at your actions and your lifestyle and, you know,
Starting point is 01:27:42 what happens when God entrust you with more power? What happens when God expands you to? What are you going to do? You're going to become prideful? Or are you going to, you know, or are you going to say, oh my gosh, I do this with fear and trembling of the Lord in a good fear, but, you know, I want to steward what you've given me. So I think, you know, it's a lot of stewardship. It's a lot of, but people are watching these things. And I think we all need to be, that fear of the Lord is a good thing, you know, and I think we need to have a healthy fear of the Lord. That's so agreed. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:07 Appreciate it. They still trying to stab you? I know you got to, someone try to stab you again. Yeah. Thankfully, I have the Lord protecting me and a good security team, too. But, no, you know, there's some really, last couple of years, there's been a few groups that have not liked some of the message. I think that'll probably always be the case, but you guys should be prayed up and you
Starting point is 01:28:26 can't let it affect what you're going to do. And there's always going to be naysayers and haters, but I think it's just between us and God. So as long as I'm here, I'm going to share what I share. And then if the Lord allows me to go home, I'm going home. But, you know, I got to keep – I think if I stop doing what I'm doing, I probably would die. Because I think this is what God is. I made a deal with God, you know, so I'm going to stick to my end of the bargain. I think it's cool.
Starting point is 01:28:47 Your story is very powerful. I love the story. I think this has been fun. You come a long way. And I think we were two California kids. So we kind of grew up a little bit closer. And we kind of, you know, we would go down to Southern California. on like I have friends who went to Skid Row on mission trips or we'd have you know southern
Starting point is 01:29:03 California I live in San Diego for seven years I went to L.A. All the time. Oh yeah. Or go to Disneyland and you're like oh man this is like the mecca of everything that's cool and you're just tell you get on the teacups and you hate it. What are they this is a torture device but I remember being like in L.A. making an album and just kind of just getting the vibe down there and kind of going oh this this is crazy I remember going to the the magic castle down. Oh, Yeah. That was kind of a weird place. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:30 And then you're, you're kind of around like these, like, something's going on down here that's different. And I didn't, at that time, I didn't know any of the blurry stuff. Right. I kind of thought that there was some dark stuff there. But I didn't really understand it like you did. And even Kirk Cameron came on the show. Yeah. I like Kirk.
Starting point is 01:29:48 Talking a little bit about, like, the Hollywood scene. Yeah. Yeah. And he felt like God protected him from getting too into the party scene. Yeah. it's interesting like we've kind of tiptoed around these times. So thanks for talking about it. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:30:04 I mean, I think it's a needed conversation. And, you know, if everybody could pray for us and me, you're sharing these things. I mean, there's a lot of spiritual warfare around it,
Starting point is 01:30:12 but I think we need to talk about these things. So, you know, I need intercessors. I need people that are praying for us. But, you know, there was a lot of times
Starting point is 01:30:19 when I was at a club or a party and I was under the influence or something. And I would see demons. I would see shadow creatures. You know, I think that a lot of quantum technology and things that we're now getting into is actually touching into the spiritual realm. And I think the spiritual realm is very real.
Starting point is 01:30:38 You know, they can't figure out what these qubits are, how they're going all these places at once. They're talking about different worlds and different parallel universes. But what I think is happening is that we're at the end of the age and that technology is now catching up to spiritual things. And so when you're under the influence of drugs, you know, if you think about alcohol, they call it spirits. Okay. You're literally opening yourself up. And sometimes you see into that other realm. And that's what I feel like I experienced. And a lot of that going on in Hollywood. And so I think a lot of these people that have been around, like Kurt, you know that there's something inherently evil going on. You sense it in your spirit. Even if you're not a Christian, you can, there's something that you know that is happening and you're trying to figure it out. You know, and so that's what led to my journey was, even though my mom was preaching to me in different things, that really was, I mean, share her prayers definitely. But it was these experiences.
Starting point is 01:31:27 is being in Vegas at the Dulce-Garbonic party and coming home drunk as could be and literally hearing demonic entities speaking to me. I mean, it was like those type of experiences, I'll never forget. You talk about them, you sound crazy, but when you're living them out, and I remember that night,
Starting point is 01:31:43 I went to Caesar's Palace and I was in the room and I got on my knees. This is before I was a Christian. And I started praying to God, you know, and there was times I was like, God, if you're real, reveal yourself to me. Yeah, yeah. And I think if you start doing that, he will.
Starting point is 01:31:55 Because the Bible says, drawn near to me and I'll draw near to you. That's funny because I think one of the things that happened to me in my life that was just like a funny experience was my band got to open for gin blossoms at the Mandalay Bay in Vegas. And I remember they took us to the VIP club mix on top of Mandalay Bay. And then they took us in the VIP section of that club. And it was just us. Did they play Hey, Jealousy for you? They did play Hey, jealousy.
Starting point is 01:32:18 But I remember sitting there and there was this like Hollywood exec with like three girls around them. And this, in the middle of this like, it's like two in the morning. Yep. We just played this rock show. at the beach at Manila Bay. And I'm sitting there. I'm kind of burned out. And this lady taps me.
Starting point is 01:32:33 She goes, does this guy love me? And I'm like, I like, look over my shoulder. And she goes, because he's just talking to this other girl, but I'm here with him. What do you think? And I'm like, I think you're looking for God's love. That's what I told her. And I'm like, kind of buzzed. And I'm not like, and it was, she's like, what does that mean?
Starting point is 01:32:51 And we just had this conversation about God in this VIP lounge. I didn't know. I was not that kind of guy. But I remember thinking like, man, you know, this, I think he was a big exec from Lionsgate or something. Right. And she was just like asking me, what am I looking for? And I remember I will never forget that moment of being like in the weirdest places and the VIP lounges, people are looking for God. And I think that was your story.
Starting point is 01:33:17 That was so my story. We were at this hotel in Hollywood and there was cocaine lines and everyone's partying. And, you know, I start, this is like in the beginning of my journey, but I started talking. talking about God. When you're on drugs like that, you start talking about God. It goes deep. It's not talking about God.
Starting point is 01:33:33 I'm a golden God. Oh my goodness. And this girl looks at me and I'll never forget what she said, but she says, well, just do it already. You're always talking about God. Just do it already. And man, I went home and I thought about that. I was like, you know, why am I talking about God?
Starting point is 01:33:47 And then I'm living this life. Like clearly there's a, you know, and so that was, I was working it out in my own head. But yeah, I've seen so many times in crazy places that you would never think, and yet here's this God appointment. Yeah. And, you know, that's what I think led me to where I am today. But we can't forget those people because there's a lot of those people right now in those
Starting point is 01:34:08 places. And that's where I think we got to reach those people. Well, I think some of the most real people are in those situations because they're just desperate for like some connection to whatever all this is. That's right. And you'd probably be surprised finding a lot of people talking about God in the weirdest places. Way more than people think.
Starting point is 01:34:26 we got to leave the four walls. The four walls are good. Don't forsake the assembling of the brethren. But 99% of what Christians do is outside those walls. And I think that's where, you know, I have a lot of friends that are from back in the day that are on my Facebook and things like that. And it's interesting.
Starting point is 01:34:41 I'll never think they read my post until one day I'll say something and all of a sudden they comment. But they're watching and this is the thing I kind of hate, but we're always arguing about theology. We're always arguing about, and it can get really vicious on social media. And just remember, Those people are watching that.
Starting point is 01:34:57 And they're trying to make a decision. Like I think they actually are closer than a lot of people think. Yeah. But then they look at the church and like, well, if I go there, this is what I'm gonna deal with. You know, and so somehow we have been given mercy in this time to get real, to be the change.
Starting point is 01:35:13 Yeah. And to reach these people. And that's why I've shifted my personal perspective of like everything that we do now is like, how can we impact the city? I don't wanna be another number. You know, there's a church on like every corner. There's great churches.
Starting point is 01:35:25 There's not great church. but I want to, I hope that our group would be known as people that reach the lost. And that's what my life is dedicated to. That's awesome. Love them, you. Your story's cool and some. It's wild. God used every part of it.
Starting point is 01:35:38 And I love that. So keep going. Keep doing it. You got a couple books out. You got a show. Remnant Revival Church in Nashville. We have a church. People can come see you at church.
Starting point is 01:35:47 Let them know where they can find you and what you're up to. Thank you. We do have a church in Hendersonville. So it's not too far. Oh, man. Oh, man. But we, right now. we're meeting on Friday nights, but you can just search under my name and it'll come up and we meet
Starting point is 01:36:00 at 630. I do a podcast every week. We talk about a lot of the things that we talked about today and just things that God puts on my heart. And yeah, we got these two books. And I tell people with the books, like I personally, and I'm all four books. I mean, some of my friends are in some amazing book. But for me personally, I want people to read the Bible. So it's kind of read the Bible first, right? Then read my book. But make sure you're in the Bible. But the thing is, is these both are complimentary. They have a lot of scripture and they're kind of like really instructive about how to get through the times that we're in and then it brings it all back to the Bible. So that's, you know, I'm hoping that their impact. We got a lot of really good feedback, especially from the latest one, the Isaiah blueprint,
Starting point is 01:36:37 which is crazy and I'll just get it real quick, but Isaiah 45, 46 and 47 is literally the time that we're in right now. And it's like a mirror. So if you read those chapters, it's crazy prophetically. And I think the Lord is doing that right now. So that's where I wrote the book about to go read that. If you'd like to read the Bible in the air, we know a pretty good book as well. well. Yeah. And we joked you're working on an island, a record down in the island. Yeah, you're still drum band.
Starting point is 01:37:00 Coconut. It's up and coming. Coconut. You're not a loud singer. I'm not a loud singer. I'm not a loud singer. I'm not a gruel. You're big in the islands, they say.
Starting point is 01:37:09 Well, I appreciate what you guys are doing. Thank you. And you got a good show. You're reaching a lot of people. So we're praying for you, man. Thank you. Appreciate that.
