Boys and Girls, welcome back to another edition here of the Bob the Sports podcast. Nobody happier to have us lighten up on the airways than Jensen Custis. And you got to give credit. I mean, he loves this podcast. This podcast is it's his baby, and Custis has his firing another one. We're happy to do it. We got a lot of exciting things coming this year. The Tacomo deal we haven't talked about yet, so that's very exciting. which is great to be a part of them, be with the Brian Bros. and Granham before anything, let's chat about this little 2V2 that came out. That's very exciting, boys. Is Katsy in that thing? We wouldn't know from the freaking thumbnail, dude. I look like I'm sitting in the freaking bleachers at Fenway Park.

They got like a stadium in behind, and I just look like I'm photoshopped into the stadium. Did Skyby McLean? You think Skyby McLean banged you on the thumbnail? Is that what you're accusing him of? You know, I'm not saying anything. I'm saying like it would have made more sense to me. Like they have Grant in the center.

It's his video. I get it. But like Grant was partnered with FP. So it should have been Grant and FP in the front. And then Bob and Wesley and me and George. Bob, of course, is taking 40% of the real estate on the thumbnail, front and center, just gleaming. And it's looked like they just managed to fit me in the smallest center in the background.

Now, that being said, the way that I played, I probably don't even. deserved to be in the thumbnail. I was, I was horrific. So, you know, I guess it's deserved. This is not just a true thumbnail. You see. Yeah, no one takes more umbrage with thumbnails than cuts. Well, yeah, I don't know if it's, if people are banging you too much or you take it too personally because we had issues at the invitational also with the thumbnails. I threw me in the background. Look, I got to stick up. Somebody had to be back there, you know. Yeah. It's unfortunate that it was you. I don't think that that's fair. I would agree with Jeff

that it does feel that sometimes you get that treatment more than anyone or certainly more than you deserve. That's true. But someone was going to have to be back there. Two people. I get that. I understand with Gutsi that he does get banged. It does seem like he gets banged in a lot of the thumbnails that it does have like even

the one on Mason's channel, New Breed. Yeah, look like Santa Claus. They like changed the freaking the pixelation. I look like I was 65 years. remember that one guys where they put me in all red i look like jolly old st nick but i don't even mind that that's fine but like we were hosting the internet invitation it wasn't like we were like some participants it was our tournament so like you would have thought like us in four play would have been at the forefront and for the most part they were there was just one specific specific person

who managed to get tossed in the freaking bleachers and that's fine it's fine i understand where i rank in the totem pole of this whole shenanigans. I don't know if that's true. Not that you don't understand. I'm like, I don't know if it's true that you were just tossed in the back. Like, look at that first thumbnail that came out. You wouldn't have been able to, and again, I don't really care. It's kind of like more of like a joke for me than anything.

But it just is like after several, after several different bangings at some point, it's like, all right, what's going on here now? It's funny. The first thing. It's like, it'd be fine if it was Bob in the front and Portnoy and F.P's like in the middle and I'm in the back. It's our two guys front and center and then I'm just shuffled into the fucking into the mid. And that was Jensen who did that.

That was a bang job from ours truly, which makes it worse. If they had done it, I wouldn't have said a word. But the fact that Jay Bone is a... There's some unfinished. business between me and Jaybone. He's still a business about that gauntlet. That gonglet still has him. I know we've done FP a couple times.

I'm going to have to get him the gauntlet too and be the guy, but like, I think it was most fun doing Cutsi and the gondlet because like right away him and Jaybone, like, with how bad Jaybone wanted to win. And then Yams, when Cutsi say that Yombs wasn't the main card, he was like, he called him like the prelims as well. No, he called me the prelimbs. I know, I don't think I did. Dead called me the prelimin.

He was the main event. Oh, geez. Only because we have a, like, a back and forth beef. I would say that the Jensen beef on course beef is larger than the game. Nowadays. You guys have an off course beef. No, I think it's also escalated, though, because we're, like, friends. Like, like, in Scottsdale, we were playing gull or playing pickleball hanging out.

Like, I get along very well with Jensen. It's just I have an issue that he. He is very cocky on the golf course. And it's like the nine iron thing is what started it. And now there's people who have been like, oh, for the next hater series, you should play Custis. I'm like, he's not a hater. I'm not going to play J-Boh.

Bro, there's a moment in the breaking 80 that's coming out shortly. I won't give too much away, but there's a point where Jensen says he can toss a ball from like 80 yards out onto the green and Joe goes first. And he comes nowhere close and then J-Bone almost puts it in the hole. It was a rare dub for the young man. And you know what he needed it. But that was the worst thing that could have happened for him

because he was feeling. Oh, yeah. He wasn't even supposed to, like, Cutsi was like, I wonder if I could throw this, whatever. And he tossed it. It wasn't a competition. And then Jay Bone goes, I like to try. You know what I mean?

Like he. Yeah. No, he didn't say, I like to try. He's like, I can try. And he said, I can do it, no question. It's not even like a thought. Like, it's just like an immediate. Bro, no one hounds me harder to do the field goal kick than Jensen.

for one reason only because he wants me to miserably miss. Hey, pop, you mind if I get a kick? He drills one that's good from 60. That's the way he envisions that going down. With all due respect, we are going to need to see that field goal at some point. We've been talking about that for years. We've talked about this before. You're not making a 40-yard field goal, and I don't even-

Do you know when there should be no correlation to this, but you know where I, where I like a fish who was like, okay, he's not going to do it is when I saw you in the three point competition. And it should be no correlation. But watching you put up those bricks, it made me realize that I don't think.

That's like saying an astronaut can't cut hay. There's completely different things. And I also didn't walk into the three-point competition saying I'm going to make it rain. He actually, to his credit, he said, oh, it was going to be terrible. He did say he was going to be terrible. I know we talked about before, but do you have experience kicking like 40 yards? Guys are missing 40-yarders in, like, college and not too much. I understand, but those are my whole point, the whole time has been that's a high-pressure situation.

I'm not in a high-pressure situation. It's completely different. pressure there though. It's not like my team. There's three seconds on the scoreboard and we're down three and I'm trying to get us to overtime. You know what I have three shots to kick a 40 yarder.

If I don't, everyone can go fuck themselves. You know what makes me a little bit questionable about it is if you watch, if you watch Pat McAfee try to give those guys like random college kids. National television. It's a tight quarter. But there's some kids you look very athletic

and they're missing by a long hop. Like not even coming close. If you look at like an East Carolina, Virginia game and the kickers kicking, there are going to be more people with eyes on this Bob the sports episode than more people watching that kick. It's something to keep in mind, too. Would you agree? Who's the only guy to go to the gauntlet and win a hole in each one of them?

Him and Katsy play play play. pickleball when we were at the Airbnb and like, you know, usually after a point, you'll be like, like, nice try there or like, you know, you'll be like good point or something like that. Katsi would like spike it down on it and right as like he gets the point, he'd be like, two one and then he goes, he goes back like really quick. He would announce the score. To be fair, I did beat him multiple times.

I think I beat him more than he beat me. So, but we again against me. The one-on-one we had was good, too. I can't wait until we get it in the HQ. I'm going to be playing a lot. I really want, and I got a paddle now, Bob. I got a frankly, from the PGA show. Can you tell me if this is a good paddle?

You come out to play these guys. like you're like coming out for like a college football game against your biggest rival. Like you come out with like an intense energy, like a worked up energy that is not really the mindset that's probably most conducive to like hit golf shots or little chips and things. There is an intensity in the air from the start. And there's one that's coming out, the next one in about a week and a half, that is the strangest, most interesting, wildest, weirdest video we've ever made. I'm editing it right now. It's the greatest video we've ever recorded.

That first hole is a fucking scam, dude. The number one, Bob does sports episode. This guy didn't get the fourth hole Jets said to us. He's like, all right, let's keep this movement so we can get out of here. Me and you looked at each other, we're like, dude, we don't want to get out of here.

Yeah, he's, yeah. I went down to the, I was telling the guys I went down to the casino when we're in Vegas and I wanted to see Cutsi at the Crabst table. It's the last thing I'll say on at Cutsi. This guy just keeps running it back, bro. But I get down and I look, the second I get down is at the crap table and he's going at it with the dealer goes, no, I put the 20 on it. You owe me 20.

You owe me 20. And the dealers are going to say, sir, you need to pay attention. And the other dealer there rolls his eyes. And the guy next to Cutsi didn't know how he was with Cutsi turns to me. And he goes, this fucking guy needs a Xanax. He's talking about it. What did Intel you said I had been underpaid several times prior to that point. I had to call him out on several occasions.

There are a lot of times where Cutsi will correct the deal. and then they have to pay them out. We've seen. FB, you would always ride with him. Like, just at the casinos where you won't even play and you'll just watch and I don't blame you at all. That's the best spot to be. I'd rather just be watching than playing with him. I like playing. He just plays a different level and he talks to a different level and like I can't, I don't, like, I play craps and I can play like the pass line and like behind

and a couple numbers and the point. But like he's playing all the numbers and, you know, he's playing. in all the hard ways. And he's, he's getting paid. And like, when I get paid, I take the money,

right? Like, I'm, I'm, I'm from a school of thought where people give you money, you hold on to the money. He,

he just, he just keeps putting it down on the, pressing. He might take a little bit out just to get to a round number, but he's pressing, pressing, pressing, pressing,

until he hits something big enough where the point will start over. That's how he makes all the money he makes, like when he gets to, because like, I'll play next to him, and I'm basically playing the same thing. And I might lose money.

And this guy's up huge, but just because the way he plays it, I can't follow, hey, I can't follow all that. And I just don't, I don't have the balls put up the amount of money that he puts out on the table where when someone does crap out,

it's not so good for Joe. But I've never seen, it's more the vocabulary. I think that gets me. It's the pace and the way he talks and how he throws. And like, he's speaking a whole other. language that only like him and like the dealers know.

And like he said, he's correcting somebody. So some of these dealers, if they haven't been around long enough, they don't even know what the fuck he's saying. Right? And then he's not getting paid out the way he's supposed to get paid out. Because he's not like, he's stolen something over there and he's not like looking and making sure they're doing it. He's trusting that this guy's doing his job. And if they don't, God help. Were you good in math, Joe?

for the physics class, you had to build like a bridge out of like balsa wood and they had to test to see how much it how much weight it could hold like it was fuck that was the fucking tough class i didn't take that yeah all right about that jensen kid though moving uh moving right along um john rom videos are out i know we talked about it a little bit before um before they came out like how incredible is that guy like for one of these pros and not just any other pro like one of the best players on the world to come into our home turf, do the donut challenge.

I watched it and you watch him in the cart with FP. The rate he's putting down the donuts in, it's like they were chips. Like it's crazy. He disappeared. Like he basically wasn't there. Like I wasn't sitting there with him during those donuts. And I was just kind of like staring at him. It was kind of like unsettling the way he would just like go about it.

It was like, this is like back nine down the stretch at the. masters is the way this like that's the mode this guy is going into because bob told him that he wasn't going to be able to do this or this wasn't going to be easy and you just don't fucking tell john rome that he's not going to fucking accomplish something and this guy just went fucking at it crazy man i think it might be the best performance yeah i think it might be the best performance we've ever seen on the channel aside from the max home uh 60 i mean like he was just making 30 foot pots after putting down donuts and like literally carrying us. Like we needed him for every fucking hole that we won.

It was it was it is kind of full circle too. Like Jet and Bob, I remember the first ever challenge we ever did was in Arizona was a beer challenge. And I remember like I was talking about whether or not it would be a hit, like whether or not people would want to watch that. And Jet for the first time in his life was wrong about something. And Bob was like, no, I think people want to watch it. I always go back.

No, but I'm just saying how crazy is it? It's like you flash forward like several years and we're doing another challenge with a master's champion. And he's putting back donuts with us. It's just, it's a testament to the channel and how it's grown. And like, kudos to the producers. There you go. Oh, shut. I would say, forget that.

I would say, it was funny to me how, how chippy he got as it went along. He was pissed because if you haven't seen the other video, well, too late now. He lost the first match in the nine holes. He was a little bit pissed off that, even a lot. And he took it out on Cutsi mainly in the Dona Challenge because Cutsi like shook his hand after the night. He's like great match. Like he did nothing. Like good job.

So then he came back. He started like he started getting more and more and he was feeling really good. It was awesome. And he turned to you and he's like, you know he used me as clickbait. once. That was funny. It was hilarious, but I couldn't tell if he was like actually pissed about it or he was just

being funny. It was one of the funnier things he's like... Didn't it end up having nothing to do with you? You didn't even do that one, did you? Yeah. Well, it was an old old video of him like the heckling and Rom is in the video but we definitely, he's probably the biggest name of people who got, it was probably me to be

honest. I don't fully remember but it was just funny when and he kept going. He's like, use me for clickbait. He's like, He came and heckled, and he's like, I pointed at the guy because you were in his way, and you used me as clickbait. And I was like, oh, fuck, just hit the ball. Let's keep it moving. I didn't know. Was that a whistling straight, Tums?

No, it was that. That was in, um, that was at, no, it was that, uh, Liberty National. Liberty, like Northern Trust. It was the first time you guys met. It was the first time you guys were together in Pennsylvania. But quick hand, shake and let's get to work. And by the way, that bang job that I got was I hadn't done. something the whole match. And then he tried to cause division with me and FP about the weight situation, which was like, my point, by the way, my

point, by the way, makes a whole lot of sense for like, arguably the best clip in Bob to sports history. The greatest clip. I have watched that. You to say that somebody is the same size. Like, now, now, now, now, I would agree. But somebody to say, okay, when that video was taken,

the person was 85 or 80 pounds heavier, and now we're on par, that is crazy. I was saying that is crazy for the first time for him to suggest that. And I don't understand how he couldn't understand that. I think he was fucking with you a lot. He understood perfectly.

He understood it, yeah. And then he goes, I was just asking. He's like, I was just asking. It was 80 pounds. He lost 80 pounds. 80's a big number, Bob. That's a lot of pounds. FB, my way that you give it,

FB, if you keep going the way that you're going, you're going to weigh the least. You're going to probably be the lead as the least in the group. Are you under two, are you 220 to 25? Rayos at night. Lee would rock with that spaghetti and meatballs. He gets a meatball app and then do the spaghetti and meatballs. Double down on the spaghetti and meatballs. It was a night I think we were all there. I think we filmed, I think it was all of us in your cousin, and there was a playoff game on, and we were sitting around on the left side. I don't remember specifically what it was,

but it was the best Reilly's dinner ever. It was so much fun. Even the first one when I was like, why don't we try this place out? We went on a Sunday night for Sunday gravy. It was me, Bob, and Jet, and we sat in that back area with that real Italian server. And that was,

that was the start of it. It was amazing. I remember that like yesterday. Bob scared the shit out of that server like three years later. That was awful. I thought they were closing, like, because there was. I was told from the owner. And that waiter, it was the same guy.

And he came up to us. I was like, man, he's like, this is it, huh? He was like, what do you mean? And I was like, last meal, last supper. Like, this is it. He had no idea. And they're still open, by the way. They didn't they were.

Yeah, they ended up renewing. No place makes me happier walking. Some of the nights we had there, just unbelievable. I mean, we would hit like a more park 9 a.m. Tea time film, get back, hit Vita. at like two, right? Then we just kind of chill for a little while and basically just all just thinking, like how early can we go to Rayos?

Like, how early is reasonable to go to Rayos after eating pizza at two? And it started at like seven. It's like, well, let me go like 630. We have some fun at Bob's apartment too with the football games and the spreads. I tell you what,

I wouldn't go back to live to L.A., but it's a lot of fun and nostalgic to, like, visit. It really is. It's enjoyable. And the golf is amazing. The golf's amazing. I think their food scene, too. I think it's even better than New York.

Dude, the Vito's days we had were the last. Place was so good. I could have every meal there. And sometimes I did ever be a spot. That was your number one. I've never seen you like a place like that. And the thing, you know, Curious for your guys thoughts, but what I love so much about Tacomo is they really, and you got to give them credit to, they really saw our value. I know for me, for the clubs that I've used, I can't tell a difference between these big brands as well, which for the price point they have is incredible and really good. iron and wedges. So thoughts on the Tacomos, boys. Yeah, I agree. I mean, not only do I not see a difference. I, these, the, the irons that I play, there's some of the best irons I've ever played, like, straight up. So, and I've played, you know, obviously before Calais, I played a number of brains as well. I, I mean, there are great irons, you know, I think there are, like, high level, like forged Japanese irons. like you think about like Miras and Voda and others brands that are like, you know, three, four thousand dollar forged signs are even more expensive than Calais.

I've hit those. I don't I don't feel a difference in feel or performance or anything like that. So I think, you know, along with that being the case, I think it's just, you know, I like their grant thesis. I like the directed consumer. I like that it's a great value. I think that that fits hopefully our community a little bit. You know, the everyday golfer, the weekend golfer.

you know, the bogey golfer or the people that are just trying to get into the game or haven't gotten into the game yet and just watch us for the laughs. Like, Tacomo gives you the opportunity to go in and play good golf clubs and still have money to be able to go afford a T time too. So I think it just, they align with us perfectly in that sense.
