Starting point is 00:00:00 Last night, President Trump posted a dinner for Republican elected officials at the White House. It was all the targeted races. He gave him a little pump-up speech ahead of the midterms. Let's see how it went. You know, a friend of mine, very, very heavy. He's a very obese person. I said, you're an extremely obese person. And then I have some other fat drugs.
Starting point is 00:00:19 I said, are you taking this stuff? Yeah. I said, it's not working. You look like shit. You know? And we got 500, 600, 600, 700. depending on the way, or you could say it somewhat differently. If you say it a certain way, it's 500, 600, 700 percent reduction.
Starting point is 00:00:38 We're going to go to Texas and work for Ken Paxton, who's a great guy. I mean, so Ken Paxton, you might not like the way he dresses. And I say this. It's so insulting to him, but I might as well say it. You might not like the way he looks. You might not love his look. You might not love his television interviews. But he was the best attorney general in the country, perhaps.
Starting point is 00:01:00 He was one of the best in the entire country. And that speaks a lot louder than the suit he's wearing that doesn't look so great. So, John, you pointed out that this was actually the second time that day that Donald Trump discussed how horrible a Texas attorney general and Senate candidate Ken Paxton dresses and is to look at generally. Like, did Natalie print out something for him that showed people making fun of Ken Paxton? Like, it's really on his mind. Maybe it was these photos. Why don't we throw these up? For those unfamiliar with Paxson, this is a photo that his own staff posted, his campaign
Starting point is 00:01:38 posted, this is part of a video they put up. In it, you can see he's wearing a four seasons polo shirt. Now, it's four seasons Orlando. It's not even four seasons in Texas. He's also wearing a $41,000 watch. It's a Hublot AeroFusion King Gold. I do not know what that is. Well, this is, he can certainly afford better fitting.
Starting point is 00:01:59 looking clothes. It's a good point. Because he's so cool. There it is. That's tough. Could use some of those, some untucket shirts? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:08 I mean, you guys filmed this yourself, Paxson campaign and released it. You could do your, but guy a solid and get a better angle. It's just so funny that Trump's like, you know, it shouldn't make fun of him, but I might as well. I might as well say it.
Starting point is 00:02:21 And then he's like, but he's the best attorney generally lands there. And then my favorite part is he goes back in at the end for one more. He's like, that's more important than how he, may look, which is like shit. So this is an event for all these members from swing districts.
Starting point is 00:02:36 It's like mostly moderates, right? Because they're targeted districts, like Tom Cain in New Jersey. Trump read all of their names aloud. Don't you think that's like the kiss of death for all these guys? Yeah, he fucking, he basically lured them into a red wedding. Shut the fucking White House doors. And he's like, now I'm going to list off all your names. I'm going to say it with smiling at the camera so it can go right in the 30 second act.
Starting point is 00:02:59 Right. Did you watch this speech by any chance? It starts with a celebration of the new Rose Garden like concrete because what swing voter doesn't love a patio. Yeah. Then he transitions to the helipad. Then he talks about more concrete. Big applause there for the ballroom. Love the ballroom. Then he told a story about how great he is doing rally speeches. How hard he worked in 2024. He basically pledged not to play golf again until the midterms were over. Oh yeah, sure. Take that one to the bank. No days off. And then he regaled them with how he came up with the term Democrat. That was part of the speech. Right, right, of course. And then as he played in the beginning of that clip, he did the story about his fat friend and the fat drugs, which he has told so many times. I almost sort of Elijah not to put it in because we've seen this slop so many times,
Starting point is 00:03:46 but it was kind of funnier there. It's great. I mean, I hadn't realized it until I put the Supercut together for PSA a couple of weeks ago, but it's like, it's now like a three-year thing where he talks about his friend and the, fat drug. It's not nice. Can't believe no enterprising reporter has been able to find out who this friend is. Right, because the friend is talking about buying the drug in London, it should be easy to
Starting point is 00:04:04 narrow this down, but I don't know. I also wonder if when people thought the 79-year-old who got special access to a new kind of fat drug and everyone assumed, or some people assumed that it was Donald Trump, if that's his friend too. Got to be. Well, it doesn't have to be. What am I saying? But there's something interesting there. John, as long as we're talking about Ken Paxson, I just want to make sure that listeners know the story of Ken Paxson and a man named Adam Hoffman. Adam Hoffman was an attorney in Waco, Texas. He was arrested in 2022 after being accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a young boy. A grand jury indicted him on continuous sexual abuse of a young child.
Starting point is 00:04:39 It's a first degree felony that can get you 25 years to life in prison. The local DA had to recuse himself for some reason. So Paxton's office led the prosecution. The trial ends with a hung jury. So Paxton's office offered a plea deal down to two misdemeanors that originally proposed giving Hoffman one day in jail. One day? One day. A judge lengthened the sentence because there was like a public backlash to 30 and then 60 days, but Hoffman ended up spending, I think, 29 days in jail all in. And so just to summarize, Ken Paxton gave a Jeffrey Epstein-style sweetheart deal to a child rapist
Starting point is 00:05:16 and then let him back out on the streets without even requiring this guy to register as a sex offender. Child rapist. The Republican Party has nominated an attorney general who set a child rapist free. After 29 days in prison. After 29 days in prison. And Donald Trump, not only supporting him, just said he's the best attorney general in the country. In the game. The best attorney general in the game is one who led a child, a child rapist free. And that's who we want to send to the Senate. There's no, like, Republicans have no answer to that. No answer to it. There's no defense. No one tries. It actually, so the facts are horrible. It gets worse when you listen to the Talleyco campaign. They point out that Hoffman's lawyer in the case was a guy who had previously represented a big donor to Ken Paxton and a friend of Ken Paxon.
Starting point is 00:06:03 So they're trying to get more information out to say like, okay, is this another example of Ken Paxson doing this big donor in proper favors? I mean, the charitable explanation is that Paxon's office just completely bungled the prosecution. Are you confused why Twitter and everywhere else isn't obsessed with, Republicans being forced to denounce Ken Paxton for letting a child rapist free? Is that not as important as Twitch stream comments? And for that outfit. That purple shirt. Is that because he's because this is a guy who's running for the Senate.
Starting point is 00:06:39 And yet I remember hearing this and reading about this case when Paxton first beat Cornyn. But haven't heard much of it in the Twitter sphere. Nope, not much. Not from Republicans. Honestly, not much from Democrats. No, I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of this on the air at the end of this campaign. John, you know a podcast will not offer pedophile sweetheart deals. Pod Save America.
Starting point is 00:07:01 That's why you should subscribe to Pod Save America here on YouTube because we don't like Ken Paxson. We dress fine. And it's good content. Speaking of loud mouths, terrible people. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik was on CNBC earlier this week talking about the war in Iran. Let's hear what he had to say. I think the way the president is playing Iran, right? There's not, there haven't been American deaths.
Starting point is 00:07:22 It's really just an economic chokeout, which the administration is now executing more broadly, and I think it'll be very effective. Wow. Yeah. So just for those at home, the casualty count is 18 Americans dead, 757 wounded. The Wall Street Journal estimates that 3,000 Iranians are dead related to combat operations. I don't know if you saw this week. The New York Times has this horrible visual investigation about a U.S.
Starting point is 00:07:49 Airstrike on a wedding from a couple days ago. So just a touch off there, Howard. Just an economic chokeout. Chokeout. Also, I think that the cleanup on Lutnik's statement might be worse than the actual statement itself. Trump posted, oh, which is rare for Trump. When Howard Lutnik said that, he was thinking of Venezuela. Venezuela was on his mind. And then Lutnik apologized and said, Venezuela was on my mind. Nothing like what he said applies to Venezuela at all. make any sense. Yeah, I'll read you the statement from Lutnik. So he said, while speaking at the G20 Innovation Summit about AI, I answered a question about military actions in Iran. I misspoke. 18 members of our military have died. And two of those families, my heartbreaks. And I'm so very
Starting point is 00:08:31 sorry for their loss. I was thinking about the Venezuela military operation where no service members died. As the 20th anniversary of 9-11 approaches, I am deeply thankful for our military and the sacrifices the men and women who serve our great country make. So such an attack where I lost my brother Gary and my best friend Doug and 656 other close friends and colleagues in the attacks on the World Trade Center never happens again never that was his uh cleanup you just I'm just again I hate what about is him but like just talking a senior member of the administration talking about a current war that has dragged on for months past what the president promised and 18 Americans died and saying no
Starting point is 00:09:15 Americans. Imagine if Joe Biden had said no Americans died at Abbey Gate. They'd be calling on him to resign or 25th Amendment immediately. Absolutely. And just for what it's worth, Cantra Fitzgerald Howard Lutnik's company did lose 658 people on 9-11. It was horrifying. Lutnik became kind of a, he only survived because he was taking his kid to school that day. He became, you know, kind of a person interviewed a lot about the attack, someone publicly grieving a lot. And then it came out that Lutnik cut off paychecks to the families of the victims for. days later. He paid them through September 15th. Some of the bodies hadn't been recovered yet. And he caught off their page. That he was the worst person in the world. Like that's the kind
Starting point is 00:09:56 of thing where you're like, I want to hear that there's some kind of rationale that he couldn't. No. No, he just said, we're losing money. That was his response. Anyway, also this week, Abdul El-Sahad, the Democrat running for Senate in Michigan, got a surprise endorsement. Let's watch that. I wouldn't vote for Mike Rogers at gunpoint. Right. And so that's the candidate. A literal loser who lost when Donald Trump won the state just to show you how much of a headwind he had at his back. It was basically a tool of Israel and the intel agencies. Right. How would you run someone like that?
Starting point is 00:10:25 Exactly. It doesn't even make sense. Exactly. It doesn't even make sense. Well, El-Said who, look, Al-Syad is a full-blown D.S. He doesn't call himself DSA. He's a full-blown leftist. I watch his campaign now.
Starting point is 00:10:37 It's America first. The amount of times he says he doesn't even, when he talks about Israel, he says Israel is committing a genocide. But ultimately, I want to. to make sure that you don't pay more for health care. I don't want your tax dollars going abroad to fund this barbaric military. He stands in front of a giant American flag. It's almost Trumpian in terms of a lot of those promises.
Starting point is 00:10:58 So it's Tucker Carlson talking with Cigar and Jetty from Breaking Point. John, are we careening towards a joint Tucker Carlson, Hassan Piker, Abdul Al-Sayat event in like Detroit somewhere? Come on, baby. You want it. I will quit and move away. No, it's good content. I just want like the clip, the first couple seconds of Tucker being like, I wouldn't vote for Mike Rogers at gunpoint. I would clip that and put that on Fox News everywhere.
Starting point is 00:11:20 All day long. All over Michigan. Yeah. It is. And look, you can oppose someone for the wrong reasons. I think calling Mike Rogers a tool of Israel isn't great. But a guy, a Republican who was like old school, hawkish, Intel guy, like there for all. All the wars, Iraq, now Iran.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Like, that is the kind of person that Tucker would now hate. Oh, God. It is the perfect Republican for Tucker to really be disgusted with. Establishment deep state. He was FBI officer or whatever, remember, FBI agents. He was, I think, the chair of the Intel Committee in the House. So, yes, he is as deep as a deep stater can be. Yeah, this, like, people should realize about Mike Rogers.
Starting point is 00:12:05 This is not a, he's trying to be MAGA now because he needs MAGA. But this is not MAGA. This is the part of the Republican Party that no one likes anymore. Right. This is neocon country club. This is neocon country club. Exactly. He is a Florida resident neocon country club.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Florida man. Florida man. And like good for, yeah, good for Tucker on that one. Speaking of targeted races, John, so a couple weeks back, I interviewed a congressional candidate named Brian Poindexter on Ponce of America. I know you know him. He's running in the Cincinnati area against Congressman Max Miller, who is a former Trump aide, who's been accused of physically abusing multiple women, including his ex-wife,
Starting point is 00:12:39 and even of harming his own. two-year-old daughter. The Free Beacon, which is a conservative outlet, published a story today that I think was supposed to be a takedown of Poindexter based on Apo Research, because Poindexter had some brushes with the law when he was younger. We actually talked about it during his interview. But I have to be honest, it just made me laugh really hard. Can I read a bit of it to you?
Starting point is 00:13:01 Yes. Okay. So this is about Poindexter getting arrested at a Cleveland Indians game in 2013. The victim, Bob, told the Washington Free Beacon that he was attending the game with his son on Dollar Dog Day when they witnessed Poindexter swallow a whole freaking hot dog quote in one bite. Quote, he opened up one of the dollar dogs and he shoved that whole thing in his mouth and one fell swoop and just swallowed it.
Starting point is 00:13:23 Bread, hot dog, everything. Bob told the free beacon. It's like Bob Rebscubbed. I don't know how to pronounce it. Me and my son both witnessed it. We looked at each other. I was like, holy shit. Did you see that?
Starting point is 00:13:34 Bob said he walked up to Point Exeter to express his amazement and to offer to buy him another hot dog. I said, hey man, if I buy you a hot dog, will you? you shove that fucking thing down your throat like you did? And can I get a video of it? People will never believe me. But Poindexter, who appeared to be heavily intoxicated, took offense to the praise. He's like, hey, were you trying to insinuate something?
Starting point is 00:13:56 I go, no, man. I just think it's crazy that you shove that freaking hot dog down your throat without even taking a bite of it, Bob said. And then he just wham, he smacked me right across the fucking face. Okay. Okay. I have three things to say about this. Number one, obviously, if the violence happened, that's not good.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Don't hit people, yeah. But if I was Poindexter and this guy came up to me and was like, can I get a video of you shoving that thing down to your throat again like the first time? Yeah, I would take offense to that. Number two, if I didn't know that Poindexter was running in Ohio and this is an Ohio story, this to me sounds like the most Boston story I've ever heard. Oh, God, yeah. Which leads me right to three. I read this story yesterday and I send you all kinds of stories all day long. and I apologize that I forgot to send it to you yesterday.
Starting point is 00:14:44 You knew that I had already read it. The algorithm that fed this thing right away. It made me want to donate. I looked at the police report. It said, it says Bob says, point X or hit him for no known reason. That's not true. The reason was the guy said, will you shove that fucking thing down your throat like you did? And can I get a video of it?
Starting point is 00:15:01 That's a weird thing to say to somebody. The video puts it over the edge. Can I get a video? Also, it's like, I'm sure they say, who knows why he swallowed the hot dog the first time? He's hungry. He's like Joey Chestdown. But he's, maybe if he was drunk, he didn't know that he did it, or maybe the guy miss saw what he didn't see the, I don't know. Who knows what happened in, what was it, 2013?
Starting point is 00:15:21 2013. Yeah, who knows what happened back then. But yeah, don't go up to people and say, hey, can you, can I take a video of you shoving that thing down your throat again, unless you're on set? Yeah, don't hit people, but don't do that either. Finally, John. Every day there's a new terrible story about artificial intelligence. They're like escaping containment and doing something scary.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Yet all the AI CEOs are just forging ahead. So earlier today, Axios published this interview or event they did with CEO, Open AI CEO, Sam. He said, quote, take our word for it that we have much, much, much more capable models coming. The next generation of models are going to be sobering for everybody. These models are getting superhuman in many of their capabilities, and we are just sailing in unknown waters. So that's troubling.
Starting point is 00:16:05 Yeah. Therefore, you and I have to laugh while we can, which is why I wanted to show. the listeners this. Yeah, man. So 9-11 was a real dark day, you know? Them terrorist attacks. Can you use the word bumbo-clot, please?
Starting point is 00:16:18 All right. I hear you. So on 9-11, when those attacks happened, it was a bomb-clot tragedy, just unimaginable pain, and the whole world felt it. Even more Jamaican accent using the word bomb-clot. Yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:16:30 So when 9-11 happened, it was a real bomb-clot disaster, you know? The whole world was shaken, and nobody could believe it. Fuck you for making me laugh on video to someone making 9-11 jokes. Boy, McLeod. It's so funny. It's just such a creative way to screw with the AI. We played the guy in the videos from Husk.
Starting point is 00:16:50 That is an Instagram username Frank Escalante. Came across my- Frank algorithm because my algorithm now knows that I love every video like this. Can I, can I read you some breaking news? Please. This is a statement from Fox News. Oh, no. Effective today, Maria Bartaromo is no long.
Starting point is 00:17:07 with Fox News. Whoa! And making the announcement, Fox News Media said, we thank Maria for her work over the last 12 and a half years and wish her all the best on her next chapter. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Should we wildly speculate what happened? White House Press Secretary? Oh my God. That was one of my picks? I think she was on my list. I hope I kept her on my list. Aidan McLaughlin at Mediate sort of characterized this as a terse statement.
Starting point is 00:17:28 It does sound like a little terse. It does sound like a little terse. I feel like if she was going to do that, they would have been a bit of send off. Yeah, they'd be like she's making a lateral move. Yeah. Aiden McLaughlin also reports just now Barter Romo is not leaving for a job in the Trump administration
Starting point is 00:17:42 he was told. Okay. So who knows? This is us. This is us. This is us reading the news to you in real time, which will take two hours to get edited and then you can watch. And we're announcing in real time. This is how we are telling you about Maria's pod on Cricket. Yeah, Maria, welcome to the Resistance. You're going to love being a host of hysteria. Yeah, Marie. That's all we got. Thanks for watching. watching this episode of Potsave America here on YouTube. We appreciate it and we'll talk to you soon.
