My name is Peter Parker, but I'm also Spider-Man.
This Thursday, we're faced with a threat.
That can be anyone.
The world may have forgotten Peter Parker.
I'm just a neighbor, friendly neighbor.
But he hasn't forgotten them.
Sometimes Spider-Man has to do the hard thing.
That's my responsibility.
Talk to Banner?
I didn't know you could get that big.
Spider-Man, brand-new day in theaters Thursday.
All right, love it.
The hottest ticket in D.C. today was Lindsay Graham's.
Memorial Service, which was a veritable who's who of war mongers and maga luminaries, including
Benjamin Netanyahu, J.D. Vance, Brett Kavanaugh, Marco Rubio, and Mike Pence, with eulogies
delivered by, among others, Sean Hannity and Donald Trump. Trump, who's long known for his role as
the nation's consular in chief, clearly spent a lot of time writing and rewriting his remarks to get them
just right so he could give his friend the remembrance he deserves. Let's listen. Our nation needs
more men and women like that great person sitting, laying wherever he may be.
I think I know where he is, and I think he's up there.
I think he's watching us.
I'm pretty sure of it.
Heated things got in Washington virtually everyone, Republican or Democrat, liked Lindsay.
Well, not everybody, but it sounds good.
Not everybody.
It was a tough cookie, okay?
I have to be. I have to veer from this first.
He was a tough cookie, darling, but he was beautiful.
Can I, I'll preview a joke for, for you from Love or Leave It?
Yes.
Which is, Trump doesn't specify which type of cookie, but we're pretty sure double stuffed.
Jesus Christ.
May his memory be a blessing.
Oh, my gosh.
May his memory be a blessing.
Let's see.
Is he, he's sitting, he's lying?
But he's up...
Where is he?
He's up here, maybe?
I remember, I feel like...
There was Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton both attended.
There was Rosa Parks funeral and Coreta Scott King's funeral in close succession to each other.
And I don't remember which one it was at, but Bill Clinton just sort of left their marks behind and just started pointing at the coffin and being like, there was a real woman in there.
There was a real, you know, not just a figure, not just a hero, but a real woman in there.
And it was, I would say, to better effect than this.
Well, there's two ways to do something like this.
The Bill Clinton way is if you have that talent, which Bill Clinton clearly does, I did, throughout his presidency,
is to be able to go off and just deliver a stem winder from the heart.
There's the Barack Obama way, which is actually writing and rewriting and editing the remarks and then having them just write
and then making sure you read the eulogy word for word because it's yours now.
And there's Donald Trump, which it's funny because we've now, over the last couple of days,
we've seen him at the Correspondents Center and we've seen him give it a eulogy.
And they are basically like the two speeches where normally you'd want to read off the prompter or your remarks
or sort of give them from off the cuff.
But Donald Trump really can't do that.
And neither speech, it is clear that neither speech he had seen ahead of time.
Yes, there's Donald Trump at what I think people that like Donald Trump would consider his best, which is not us.
Right.
Is either fully off the cuff or on book, but reading something like kind of like too prompter.
When he dips in and out, that's when he gets into real trouble.
And it is just something so insulting about the whole thing because he's like, you know, when he walks by the coffin, he kind of pats the coffin.
I don't know how much actual genuine empathy Donald Trump experiences.
but one would hope he would feel as much of it as he can he would feel for Lindsay Graham.
You'd think he'd really take pride and wanting to say something meaningful and from the heart and focus on it.
But it turns out that. It doesn't seem like that is the case.
I don't think he feels any empathy at all.
I don't think he, I think it's a personality disorder.
Oh, right.
Like, I really do don't think he has any empathy.
I think he in his mind he probably can get to Lindsay Graham.
I liked him in the end because he liked me.
And I should say some good things.
Well, I think sometimes he experiences what he thinks of his empathy because someone is so close to him he considers them part of him.
Right?
Right. In the same way, which is, you know, like he'd like, I think, you know, Graham to be buried near his pyramid facing him.
You know what I mean?
That would be ideal.
Also, like, again, if Donald Trump had worked on the speech, what he did there, his ad lib there was a very honest ad lib, right?
Like, it was definitely overriding it in the speech to say he was beloved by everyone.
That's obvious falsehood.
So Donald Trump did give a factual correction there.
But yeah, he could have done that ahead of time.
That's right.
Could have just made a little mark on the speech and said, okay, let's just change this a little bit.
Yeah, not a big planning ahead guy.
No.
As seen in the here or the straight of Hormuz.

This November, the elections could come down to just a few hundred.
votes. The work that wins those races starts this summer and it starts with you. Get started at
act blue.com slash crooked. I do believe this is the first memorial service I've seen where two
back-to-back speakers directly contradicted each other. Here's Trump and Sean Hannity speaking about
Lindsay's foreign policy views. He was extremely hawkish. I will tell you, he never saw a war
that he didn't like. Only his true friends would understand that, but he wanted it for the good of our
country. Lindsay, he was often unfairly characterized as a warmonger. I've heard that false criticism a lot.
It's not true. The truth was the opposite. Lindsay desperately wanted and talked to the president
about a lasting peace in the Middle East. He wanted every region, every country in the region
on that path to peace. That was Lindsay's dream. Again, Trump, maybe I, maybe I,
Maybe he's the most honest man in Washington.
There's a, there's a, there's a, there's a, there's a, there's a, there's a, there's,
a, there's a, there's a, there's a, there's, there's, uh, that was, uh, being shot when,
when, when he died.
And Graham tells a story about how he wanted the U.S. to, uh, not just be fighting
Iran, but simultaneously go after hesbola in Lebanon and cooler heads prevailed.
The cooler head in that conversation was literally Benjamin Nenhani.
That peace nick
Yeah
Like Benjamin Netanyahu is like
Hey hey buddy
E's off the fucking throttle
Hated war this guy
It's just so funny to be like
He never met a war
He didn't like
He's falsely maligned as a warmonger
You know they say there's
I think David Brooks coined it
There's there's resume virtues
And then there's eulogy virtues
And the resume virtues
Are you know
Things
that look good on paper that you've done your life for accomplishments, achievements,
titles, and then the eulogy virtues are what you want said about you after you've passed at a eulogy.
And clearly, the eulogy virtue there is he never met a war.
That's what I want.
And honestly, like, I think Lindsey Graham might be happy about that.
I think he would say that they were both wrong.
I honestly do.
I think they were both, that they were both.
That I think is the actual.
truth, right? Obviously, he would say there are some wars I loved. Most wars maybe.
Yeah. Well, I think it's more like I, like if you like what is the actual like less sort of
whatever broadside truth. It is this is a person who did not reflect enough or care enough
or imagine enough the downsides of U.S. military involvement and saw it as too quick a tool to
reach for despite being taught over and over again by the results.
that getting the U.S. involved in these wars
was terrible for us and the people
we were claiming to save.
Well, I don't think that would be Lindsay Graham's assessment
of his- Oh, that's right.
But I guess I mean that like the truth is between the two, right?
Like I don't think it is fair to say that he, like, whatever,
he loved war.
That's a ridiculous thing to say.
But at the same time, the idea that he's a peacock is absurd.
That's all.
Finally, Hannity left the mourners with a beautiful image
of where Graham and hopefully all of us aspire to go when we die.
Lindsay, Mr. President, I'll argue in my mind probably has a heavenly version of Mar-a-Lago.
It may even be a little bigger.
He may have a little more gold in the Oval Office in his mansion in heaven.
And I wouldn't be surprised if he added one big, beautiful ballroom in an arch somewhere on the property.
Because he would want to obviously duplicate his dearest friend in life.
You, Mr. President.
I'm telling
this shit
these people are
these speeches are like
one emotional rung
above what you would say
at a dog's funeral
he's up there
with a big beautiful ball
he's chasing that ball around
it doesn't even like
make sense on the merits
it's like the
the ballroom
has nothing to do with Mara Lago
right those are different places
the arch why is it
and then he's like
he'd want to replicate you
but he'd want it to be bigger
they're not friends he's not they're in no universe did anyone think that lindsay graham was
donald trump's closest friend or vice versa yes it it's a it's sort of i was thinking it's like lying and
exaggerating for nothing for no no useful purpose whatsoever it's also like like man it's it does
i think actually reflect it is fitting for lindsay graham right who we learned died telling someone that he didn't
well but would get help after he appeared on Meet the Press.
Oops.
And that the idea that Sean Hannity is speaking at this funeral about you, not as a human being,
but as a token of political opinion, ideology, ire from the left, right?
Like, that's a troll, like to say that heaven is Mar-a-Lago with a ballroom and an arch,
two things that have nothing to do with Lindsay Graham.
Like, you're trolling liberals and then saying that in your version of heaven, Lindsay Graham is
just at a slightly bigger Palm Beach House, which is also just a reminder that these people are
terrible hedonists, right? Like, like, in the same way that you... Heaven is, heaven is a bigger ballroom.
Heaven's a bigger ballroom. Heaven's a bigger ballroom in the sky. And the idea that, like,
Sean Hannity, who's made tens of millions of dollars, I think per year, just sort of shoveling
slop in front of an audience he despises. Donald Trump's made billions off the presidency.
Elon Musk is the world's first trillionaire.
These people are, they're even shitty at finding things to take pleasure in.
Like, you close your eyes and you imagine what?
Not having to wait for your tea time?
That's what it is, like a limited trim cocktail.
You know, what Sean Hannity is skilled at is flattering people with the dumbest, most obvious possible eyes.
Right, and flattery is for the living.
So his, his eulg.
That was for Donald Trump, right?
Like, I'm going to flatter you, sir, by talking about how obviously anyone's, uh, anyone's
afterlife has to include your beach club.
Yeah.
And renovations.
This man, this man, uh, love him or hate him.
He lived a life.
He lived a life.
He's lying in that fucking coffin.
He's in the room.
He's in the room.
And you're using that, that prop to be like, boy, Donald Trump still number one.
Lindsay Graham's up there sucking your cock in heaven.
that's how much
this is about you now
unfucking believable
we are going to tell
bone crunching jokes at this show
I love it or leave it tonight
just absolutely gear on gear
no fucking no
WD40 grinding jokes
about this and I genuinely
believe we will be showing more respect for
Lindsey Graham than whatever this was
real question
do you think Lindsay Graham
would have approved of this memorial service
What is it
Because I was
I was feeling like
Conflicted as I watch it I'm like how
I'm like I don't I never really liked Lindsay Graham
But like you said he's he's dead now
And he's lived a life and he's there
And you would want his
His friends and colleagues and people who knew him
To say things about him and his personality
That really got to the heart of it that remembered him
But this does
But some of it does
And some of it was like
Lindsay Graham's whole game was like
I know I'm playing
the game and then I'm embarrassing myself,
but I'm playing the game because the game is what I love.
And so maybe it would have been perfect.
Maybe he would have loved this.
Yeah, well, everybody showed up, didn't they?
And you know what?
You get the funeral you deserve.
You don't get what you deserve in life all the time,
but you will get the funeral you deserve.
War criminals.
Right.
You know, look, some of the worst people on Earth die,
die contented, surrounded by loved ones,
and heroes die young and sad.
But Lindsey Graham, I think there is some sort of,
is some sense in this in this event and it does remind me of uh uh the Vonnegut quote which is
one must be very careful what you pretend to be because you are what you pretend to be and this is
what he pretended to be that would have been a nice line for one of the eulogies yeah somehow i somehow
Sean Hannity for all his money the only like the i don't think there's a great expanse of
sort of literature that he's drawing on well if you uh if you would like more funeral punditry
