Starting point is 00:03:00 Please hit that subscribe button. And we always love to read your comments as well. Yes, Lexi M. Rose said, my boyfriend and I listen to y'all so much that he's starting to laugh like Jose. Oh, my God. That's amazing. I wish we could put like an audio clip in there, you know, so we could hear it, compare. My laugh's contagious?
Starting point is 00:03:18 We need to tell the doctors out there. We should. We should. All right, here we go. Laugh away. Start right now. If a random number that's not saved in your phone sends you a time. text, it's never a good thing.
Starting point is 00:03:35 It's either a scammer, junk marketer, or your mom calling from a line that you haven't blocked her on yet. Speaking for yourself, she has so many phones. I don't get it. That's why one of our listeners reached out for our help
Starting point is 00:03:51 because he was alone one night and had the urge to open his significant other's computer. Oh no. Oh. Oh. Oh. And what happens next could be the most shocking, awkward Tuesday phone call of the entire year. You're going to hear it coming up right after this. It's awkward.
Starting point is 00:04:10 It's Tuesday. It's awkward Tuesday phone call. Brooke, how often do you go snooping through your husband's phone? Not very often. Honestly, you've been married for a certain amount of time and you're like, I hope he's cheating. Yeah, I don't even care. There's nothing exciting in this thing.
Starting point is 00:04:29 I only ask because one of our listeners, had a situation where they didn't mean to, they didn't want to snoop. It just kind of happened by accident. That's the best kind of snooping because then you don't have to feel guilty. Yeah. And you're like, I didn't do it on purpose. Well, I don't know. I think our listener does because he saw something and now it's become this awkward situation
Starting point is 00:04:50 that he doesn't know how to handle. So he's asking for our help. His name is Kyle. Kyle, welcome to the show, man. Hey, glad to be here. Oh, are you really glad? Because sounds like you were caught in a weird situation. It could be a good thing.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Like maybe it's a cool surprise that he saw. That's fair. A birthday present or something. Oh, okay. Did you spoil your own surprise party, Kyle? What are we working with here? Yeah, so nothing like a surprise party, unfortunately. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:05:20 It is bad. Well, whose phone did you accidentally snoop on? That's what we're all assuming. Well, it was more so like my girl's laptop. Oh. It's a laptop. I can give you some backstory if you want. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:34 Fine. No, let's just jump to conclusions. I'm with you, Jose. I just want to know, okay, first, what's your girlfriend's name and how long have you been together? So, yeah, my girlfriend's name, her name is Vivian. We've been dating for about a year. Okay. That's still snoop-inful territory.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Yeah. So the other week, she was visiting a friend for the weekend. She happened to leave her laptop open when she left. So I was just kind of cleaning the room. I end up seeing her laptop open. You know, I happen to go into it just because it was right there. You happen to press the power button and use her password. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Okay. What are you expecting to see on the laptop? Honestly, nothing crazy. You know, it was more so like it happened to be up and I see the part with the messages. I don't know if you know, Apple computers allow you to. you know, see your text messages as well, right? I've heard enough about Apple computers personally. They're dead to me.
Starting point is 00:06:35 He has a problem because he's had some Apple issues and they haven't been helpful for him at the genius bar. It's a long, boring story. But I'm too, I don't know about that. I don't know about Apple, so please explain. So it's all connected. So, like, if I'm sitting at my husband's computer, I can actually see the texts that are coming to his phone as they're coming in.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Apple is terrible at keeping secrets. It just spouts them to every device in the room. Okay, so what did you find on her computer? So, you know, I saw the usual text from all her friends, family, all the normal, but then I saw a green text from a number that I have never seen before. And there were some plans to meet up at a bar at like 10 at night. Oh, no. I was hoping it was like maybe she bought something off of like Facebook Marketplace and they were.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Yeah, yeah. She's picking up the lamp at 10 p.m. Your order has shipped. To a location. Oh. Okay. This is a guy? Yeah, how can you tell?
Starting point is 00:07:39 I could tell it was a guy. You know, the texts were very, it was like low-key, flirty, like a guy trying to be smooth, you know? So you're automatically thinking she's seeing someone else. Is that what we're getting to? And was the night in the past or like it was planning it for the future? It was like happening in real time. You know, they had plans for it.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Oh. Oh, like she's in a different place actively making these plans with somebody wherever she is. Yeah, and it was in the town that she was in, you know, without me. Oh, I mean, it feels like you just found proof of what was happening. Like, why would you need our help in this? So it seemed like the end of the text messages was that they didn't even end up meeting up. He, like, flaked on her, so it didn't end up actually happening. Okay, so you sat with your girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:08:30 girlfriend's laptop open for hours watching the back and forth. It wasn't a ton of back and forth. It was more so like there were some plans, but then eventually the conversation kind of died. What did you do? Do you call her and ask her about it? No, I actually didn't end up asking her about it. I've been like thinking about it for a while, but I wasn't really sure how to how to approach the situation, you know? Oh my God. I would have been on the phone yelling, screaming, accusing. I mean, that's a lot. I mean, that's a lot of. I mean, that's just my style. But then you have to admit you open the laptop
Starting point is 00:09:04 and read all the text. Who cares in that point? Yeah, that's true. It's like finding out somebody murdered someone by reading their text messages. If you're right. If you're right. It doesn't matter how you found out. You have the information now. That's always what it's here will say. Oh, you're going through my stuff. You're a red flag. They're really good at that. Okay, so to be fair right now, we're jumping to
Starting point is 00:09:22 a lot of conclusions here. Yeah, very true. We're a very jaded group who doesn't believe in other people. I'm assuming you reached out to a us because now you're in this awkward situation and you want to talk to your girlfriend about it. Yeah, exactly, because I mean, I'm not sure how to speak to her about it. I kind of want to know who the guy was, what the potential plans were, you know. I don't know if you actually want to know all those details about the guy.
Starting point is 00:09:50 I mean, just to save your own mental health. Yeah. It's definitely better to know who you're hating on, okay, Jeff, you got to hate everybody in this situation. I know your theory is hate everybody first, ask questions later. But I think asking about how to approach his girlfriend, that's a totally valid thing to ask us. I'm ready. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:10:10 I got my advice ready. Maybe let Brooke take the reins on this. Brooks already got her knives out, but we're going to come back and give you our advice before we let you make your awkward Tuesday phone call to your girlfriend to find out what were her plans that night. And who was she texting while she was out of town? And don't lie about it. We'll do it with your awkward Tuesday phone call next. Thanks, guys. I appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:10:32 It's Tuesday. It's awkward Tuesday phone call. We're all hoping that this is just a giant misunderstanding. Yeah, that would be best case scenario for sure. Yeah, absolutely. After our listener, Kyle accidentally snooped on his girlfriend's computer while she was out of town. Yeah. And on it, he saw her text messages with a guy.
Starting point is 00:10:53 A random number. Where they were arranging some kind of meetup at a bar. At 10 p.m. a night? I mean, whoever she was talking. talking to seems to afflate. So the plans fell through, but the damage has been done because Kyle saw it. Yeah. So he's not confronted her about it yet because he's been a little shook. Yeah. Understandably so. And first off, Kyle, you understand we feel terrible that you've even been put in this spot. But here's what I will say, in situations like these, sometimes it's good
Starting point is 00:11:24 that it happens. Because at least you can tell where the person's heart really is at. And if they're already one foot out the door. You don't want to be the O.P. Dude, you've never been cheated on, have you, Jeff? No, I haven't. Yeah, I can tell. It's way too positive, way too optimistic. I'm just saying, it's important, like, if you find this out early, then it's out there. You can get out of it and move on to something better. But with that said, let's get some advice. Jose, what do you think Kyle needs to do here? Okay, first, be honest and second, apologize for snooping right away. What? Okay. Because if you're honest, then hopefully she will.
Starting point is 00:12:00 will be honest. She'll be like, you know what? We're all confessing. Yeah. And your relationship. Let me tell you all the dudes I've been trying to meet up with. Well, that's our opportunity. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:12:12 Use the Alexis approach. Apologize first. And then ask questions. And then apologize again after. You know what? I guess you're right. You know, maybe I should apologize first. It's like ripping off the band-a-
Starting point is 00:12:24 Okay. You're so soft-spoken. I know there's a lot looming for you here, but we have one more piece of advice from Brooke. Brooke, what do you think? See, I think you actually retell her the story as if it happened to somebody else. Like, you go to her and say, hey, I need your advice. So my buddy, he saw that his girl was texting with this random number,
Starting point is 00:12:44 trying to meet up with this dude at 10 p.m. And it's either going to be she realizes in that moment that you just out at her and she's going to come clean or I don't know what the other option is. She'll be like, oh, get her. It's the asking for a friend method, though. I like it. I mean, if she thinks that it's cheating immediately too like I do, then you know that that's where her head's at. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:06 I mean, Kyle, what do you think about that? Because she could just keep lying. So I don't know if it's great advice, but your thoughts? You know, when I think about it, I feel like it might also be a little too on the nose, you know? Maybe that would give her a reason to keep lying. I think it's okay to be a little direct in this situation. Brooke, this is Kyle's decision at the end of the day. So go ahead and take your L again.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Jose's advice wins. Sorry for wasting your time. Apologizing? Yep. And I'm just going to... I'm apologizing. Never made you're wrong about anything. Anyway, Kyle, we got your back no matter what happens here.
Starting point is 00:13:44 That's true. That's true. Whatever happens, happens, and we're going to be here for you. I'm going to dial your girlfriend's number. And let's see if she even answers, but here we go. Hello? Hey, how's up? It's me.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Yeah. How you doing? Um, thank you. What number is this? Uh, you know, you don't have to worry about it. It's a different number, but I just had to talk to you. You're acting weird. What's going on? Uh, so this is something I wanted to talk to you about. Okay. So, um, I want to come clean and apologize to you. Um, when you were away to you, um, when you were away the other weekend. I ended up going through your laptop and seeing some text from you.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Oh, that sounds worse. Wait a minute. You opened my laptop without asking me? It was already open, but I did go through your text. Wait, wait, you spite on my messages? That's the size of the point. I ended up seeing those messages from that number. you speaking with some guy back home when you were on your trip? Oh, yeah, that was my Uber driver. He had my phone and was bringing it back to me.
Starting point is 00:15:20 That doesn't make any sense. How would you be speaking with your Uber driver if he had your phone? Yeah. Okay. Okay, I was not really telling the truth, But like you don't, you don't want to know. Like, nothing happened. You don't, you don't want to know.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Oh. No, I definitely want to know. I saw that you had plans to meet up with this dude at like 10 at night at a bar. I didn't bring it up because I didn't want you to get upset. And like, honestly, nothing happened. And it was just like catching up with an old boyfriend. Oh, no. An old boyfriend.
Starting point is 00:16:05 And he wasn't my college professor. What? Your college professor was your old boyfriend? I don't get it. Okay, so he's not like a boyfriend. He was just kind of like a random hookup thing, but he's like too old. He's like 75.
Starting point is 00:16:20 Like I don't think any, I would have done anything. I don't think him. You don't think? He's like, bedtime for him. Oh, Kyle, I'm so sorry. Kyle, what's going on? Who are all these people? Quick, old Alan, Jeff.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Yeah, hi, Vivy. No, I was kidding. I missed you. It's the professor. I wanted to go over biology. Okay, no, I'm sorry. I don't know. That's inappropriate.
Starting point is 00:16:51 Hey, Vivian, no, you're on a radio show right now. We're called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Yeah, you're on the radio because you got caught up trying to cheat on me. Yeah. I think that was him yelling for him. No, that was the most on the nose thing he said. Yeah. On the nose.
Starting point is 00:17:05 Kyle, I was not cheating on you. Like, he's an old man, an old boyfriend. Like, I didn't do anything. Nothing happened. I didn't even cheat. Okay. But you were planning on it. Emotionally.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Even if you're meeting up with an old friend, A, you tell your boyfriend what's up. Okay. And B, you don't do it at 10 p.m. at a bar. First of all, you don't know Kyle like I do. Like, he would have just made a huge deal about all of it. I mean, look, we're on the frickin radio talking about this. Well, I think rightfully so. Either way, that's not okay.
Starting point is 00:17:35 we've been dating for like a year. Yeah. It's a violation of his trust, Vivian. Okay, but to me, he was just an old man at a bar. Really? Come on. Why does that make it worse? Your first description of him was old boyfriend.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Listen, nothing happened because like 10 p.m. was too late for his facility and he needed to be back by 9.30, so I didn't even see him. Is he living a home? Okay, so maybe it was innocent. Yeah. This is unbelievable. Are you serious? She's so weird.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Is this better or worse than a hot guy with abs? I don't know. That's a good question. I mean, Kyle, where are you at? Like, do you believe her that it was an innocent thing? No, absolutely not. I know what it was. Those old stories about you tell me with an old boyfriend back in college that was that guy.
Starting point is 00:18:28 It was the professor? Yeah, I guess. Are you serious? You told me you guys. did it in the library. Professor. Yeah. Don't want another single detail.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Why are you telling your new boyfriend that? Yeah, but like, this was in the past. Like, it was almost eight years ago. What? Oh, I thought you were going to say like 20 years ago when the man was at least 55. So you were dating him into 60s?
Starting point is 00:18:58 No. He looked a lot younger back then. Like, he could totally pass for like a young 62. Oh. I kid. We're not judging you because. of dating the old man. I mean, maybe a little bit, but we're judging you for trying to meet up with a guy and hook up with someone while you have Kyle. Regardless whether or not things happened or not, there was intent.
Starting point is 00:19:18 Yeah. No, we were never going to, like, we were probably not. Probably never. I'm pretty sure not. Most likely. Even though we have before. Yeah, no, we know. Wow.
Starting point is 00:19:28 You know what? I've heard enough. I have my answer. I'm done. Oh, bro. Are you sure? You could just like visit his home and try to fight him and. I don't know if that's really just the best move.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Some guys fight, so I'm just asking. You're going to beat up a senior citizen. I don't think so. I mean, you can't get in there anyway. I try to go visit him the next day and they don't allow visitors. Oh, my gosh. Vivian. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:19:54 This is just. Well, this is wild. This is why everyone's wild age does matter. Yeah, okay. Kyle, we got the closure that you needed. It sounded like you're done with the relationship. and you're ready to move on to something better. Yeah, I'm absolutely done.
Starting point is 00:20:08 You know what? Maybe I need to date older. Did you take away from this? You want to date older? Brooke, maybe you got some friends. Okay, that is not funny. No? Not funny. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Starting point is 00:20:22 Behind every night spent making the kids' lunches, there's a lot of suspense. Will they finally eat the veggies? Will the pesto survive the first bite? Will the lunchbox come home empty, half full, or come home at all? And will you finish episode? 8 before you're done slicing the cucumbers?

Visit bell. dot Zia for details and to check availability. Bell, connection is everything. Hey, this is Hayes Davenport.
Starting point is 00:20:52 And Sean Clements. We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook on the Big Money Players Network. Our show is extremely accessible to first time listeners. Each week we talk to someone in show business, aka the biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show.
Starting point is 00:21:12 We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, not that great. Actually, can you help me shape this? How about we flip it on his head, right? How about we flip the script? What is the surprise woman? Actually, you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird. Adam Scott. This entire time you've been expecting.
Starting point is 00:21:35 expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show. I would never expect. I would never set expectations for something like that to happen. If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it. I'm always going to accept. You know, Danny McBride, fine. Yeah, it's all this fragile masculinity exuding. I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:22:01 I was like, I was like, is that weed? Nope, it's fragile masculinity. Ben Stiller, no. Because a lot of times, out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is. You know what I mean? They're like, oh, what's a state. Everyone's so dumb except for you. And fake.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Right, fake and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my life. I don't care about your life. And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Wow, that was weird. Yeah. So weird that we didn't even get a chance to talk to her about trying to lie about talking to her Uber driver via text.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Oh yeah, that was her like first instinct was the lie. Which even says even more that she was trying to hook up with that old guy. Yeah. The intentions were definitely there. I mean, I've definitely heard of girls being into older guys, but this was. like, shouldn't even sound like he wanted his money. He just had that certain something about it. Usually there's like a 10 year window 15 years.
Starting point is 00:23:11 And he looked younger. Yeah. Totally. I guarantee my mom is going to text me. Well, I dated someone that was 20 years old for me. Yeah. Oh, God. Poor Kyle, though.
Starting point is 00:23:22 He was so shocked. Didn't even know what to say. He could like barely speak. The thing is, did he accidentally go on the laptop? No. I mean, any time you open a laptop, you know what you're going to find because you already know in your head what's going on. Even if he had no idea, something
Starting point is 00:23:37 inside of him told him to open it up. Yeah, and that's usually bad. I'm sorry to both of them. Hopefully, you know, this gives him a chance to like move on, get his stuff out, and maybe we can do an update with him somewhere down the road where hopefully find out that he's happy with a more stable situation.
Starting point is 00:23:52 I think we get a hold of the old guy because now we can do a second date. Like, why aren't you calling our girl back? You know? Dude, that guy has the pick of the litter. I'm telling you. There's not very many old men that live to be that age. I think of all the students he had over the years. Yeah. Man.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Smart, attractive, and has money? He probably wasn't asleep. He was probably out with somebody else. Yeah, true. I didn't even think about that. Yikes. But you know what? If you enjoy our content, make sure you follow our podcast at Brooke and Jeffrey.
Starting point is 00:24:18 And we're also on YouTube. Yeah. Shout out YouTube. Let's go. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Subscribe.
