Starting point is 00:02:26 Listen to The Unwanted Sorority, new episodes every Thursday. on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, welcome to the second date podcast. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Thanks, Brooke. You welcome to you as well. Alexis, welcome in. Thanks, Jose.
Starting point is 00:02:42 That's so nice. You're welcome. I feel seen. And it's Tuesday, which means it's going to get awkward. We always love our awkward Tuesday phone call on Tuesdays. That's why we need to label to that. We are so smart. We are so good at naming things.
Starting point is 00:02:57 And I know that we get a lot of responses. for some of these situations. And today is definitely going to elicit that because it involves cheating. Yeah. And people got strong feelings on cheating, which... Always. Even cheaters hate cheating.
Starting point is 00:03:11 It's weird, right? How many cheaters do you think we're going to have in the comments? We'll find out. I know. Seriously. All right, let's get this awkward Tuesday phone call started. One of our listeners came home the other day to find his front door wide open. Half the stuff in his place was gone.
Starting point is 00:03:28 along with a very bizarre handwritten note left for him on his kitchen counter. What the heck? And what that message said led him down a very, very bizarre path where he was doing research online, following people's cars around town. And it brought him to this moment where he wants to make an awkward phone call to a total stranger to warn them that the same thing might be about to happen to them. Oh my gosh, this sounds like a mystery. This can happen again?
Starting point is 00:04:00 Apparently, you're going to hear the full story when we do your awkward Tuesday phone call right after this. It's awkward. It's Tuesday. It's awkward Tuesday phone call. A few months ago, we did a second date update with a guy named Sean. And if you're a regular listener to the show or to our podcast at Brooke and Jeffrey, go follow, subscribe. You might remember Sean being trapped in an elevator with a woman for 45 minutes. And this song was playing over the elevator speakers the entire time.
Starting point is 00:04:33 On repeat, right? That's how good our research is. Okay, yeah, it makes sense. That woman's name was Nicole, and they ended up agreeing to go out again, and actually became an item, boyfriend and girlfriend. But now, Sean has reached out to us for an awkward Tuesday phone call. In regards to Nicole. Are we doing the full circle right now? Oh, the breakup?
Starting point is 00:04:54 Is this a good call we're going to make or a bad call, Sean? you know it's not a great call oh no I don't want to do it I was like we were invested in you too as a couple we helped create this relationship
Starting point is 00:05:07 you just found out they were together but in the last 10 seconds we are really invested so tell us what happened dude what happened with you and Nicole all right
Starting point is 00:05:19 we've been dating for like three months and she moved in whoa after three months yeah probably a little too quick In retrospect.
Starting point is 00:05:28 Yeah. Are you guys already broken up? Well, it's kind of a gray area right now. Tell us the story of what happened. Okay. So I came home from work after we've been together, like living together for about a month. Okay. And the front door was wide open.
Starting point is 00:05:45 Oh, no. Was your heart just beating? I always think that that means something really bad. If she made that heating bill go up, you better break up with her, okay? You know, that heating bill was the least of my concerns at the time. Yeah, he's like not funny So that's obviously weird To come home and see your front door open
Starting point is 00:06:02 Did you go in or do you call somebody? I went in because I was like I didn't know if something was wrong Like I needed to like if you could help or something So I was like hello No answer I go in and all of her stuff Is gone
Starting point is 00:06:15 What? Initially I was like Did I get robbed? What'd you do? Did you call her? Yeah Well there was a note I found the note of the kitchen counter
Starting point is 00:06:25 Oh no A ransom note or just a no written from her? I have your clothes. I think we have established that she's not in trouble. What did it say? It says, I feel awful that I couldn't tell you this in person, but I met someone else. Whoa. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:06:41 She's like, you're a great guy. I'm so sorry. Oh, I mean, that's just so much. It's like you're only four months into the relationship, but also you guys invested a lot real quickly. What was going through your mind when you read that? Well, at this point, I'm like, is she alive? I just want to make sure she's okay. Wait, you haven't talked to her at all?
Starting point is 00:07:01 So I tried to call her. I texted her. I deemned her. Nothing. Nothing. Yeah. I was like, I guess what I need to do is go to her work. You know, if she's okay, at least she'll be at work.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Totally. Nothing bad or awkward happens when you go to your ex's workplace and try and ask questions. I mean, that's a thing. Like you're kind of fronting that you were worried about. her health and safety, but you knew that she was healthy and safe. If there was no note, then I can see them. Yeah, totally. But there wasn't no.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Like, let's be honest. You were going there. How were you feeling pulling up in her parking lot? I was, like, ready to be angry, but I didn't want to be angry until I knew she was alive. Why did you think she wasn't alive? You keep bringing that point out. Dead people don't leave you. I didn't know if she was kidnapped or
Starting point is 00:07:50 something. Look, it was a weird situation. That would be a smart kidnapper note, though. I love you for someone else. You're definitely leaving a whole bunch of breadcrumbs for alibis for yourself here. So what happens when you do get to her work? Well, I go to her work and I pull in right behind this pickup truck. And she gets out of the pickup truck.
Starting point is 00:08:14 She's with the other guy. And he drives her to work. She kisses this guy in the pickup truck and goes into work. Was he like super handsome, too? I'm officially angry. He's not bad looking, and that sucks. Yeah. Oh, man. Sorry, dude. So what'd you do? Did you go home?
Starting point is 00:08:34 I followed the truck. I followed the truck. No. Of course you did. No, but also yes. Yeah. I mean, we get it. We all want to know, but we know we shouldn't. Well, I mean, he made me. Where'd the truck go?
Starting point is 00:08:50 He went to his house and I wrote his address down. Oh, no. This is starting to get creepy. I feel like if I was in that same situation, I might do the same exact thing. Oh, I'd probably do worse, yeah. I don't go to work and talk to her, I think, over following the dude home.
Starting point is 00:09:06 I wouldn't talk to anybody. I would just cut everyone off and I'd go cry every night about it for seven years and still think about my ex like I currently do if you're listening. Sorry, sorry, sorry. Why did you write the address down? Did you plan to go back? I wanted to Google who this guy was.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Oh. What did you find? find out. This guy named Mitch. Okay. I found his Instagram and he has a girlfriend. What? That's not your ex?
Starting point is 00:09:33 Not Nicole. Not Nicole. A different girl. Bro, this is great. Karma's already got her then, bro. You don't have to worry about this. Are you sure it's the right person? I'm positive.
Starting point is 00:09:46 The truck was in one of the pictures. Okay. So what do you want to do with your awkward call here? Who are we reaching out to? I want to call Mitch's girl. How did you stalk her down? I like it. They're probably tagged in the photo.
Starting point is 00:10:01 I like this in the world of Petty. It's like, okay, buddy, you ruined my relationship. Now I'm going to ruin yours. I don't like this. I don't know about this. Brooke, think about it. Would you want to get this call letting you know your significant other was doing no good behind your back? Or would you just rather be blissfully ignorant?
Starting point is 00:10:19 I don't know that like, there's just so many variables here that we could just have the wrong idea. You could just have the wrong idea. I want to do this just for a pure ratings reason to do it. I think it's just interesting to hear. Well, there's the honesty that we needed. I love the messiness. Bless this mess. We're going to come back and we're going to call this girl and tell her there's a possibility
Starting point is 00:10:40 that her boyfriend is sneaking around behind her back and she doesn't know it. Before we move on, what advice are you looking for from us real quick? I just think that if I have a radio station, like a radio show on my side, it'll be a little more believable than if I just some random guy contacting her. People don't know we're not legit. Yeah, I mean it's just a random call and it's like how would you trust that
Starting point is 00:11:03 person? Yeah. We're not the most trustworthy people but at least we have strength in numbers. Well, we're a radio show if she believes us but if she doesn't we'll just say we're a podcast. Yeah. There you go. We're going to do your awkward Tuesday phone call right after this. It's awkward.
Starting point is 00:11:19 It's Tuesday. It's awkward Tuesday phone call. Hell hath no fury Like a Brooke and Jeffrey listener Scorned Sean was scorned Big time I'm trying to make this recap
Starting point is 00:11:35 As short as possible But months ago He did a second date update With us with a woman named Nicole They ended up dating for three months When she moved in 30 days later she moved out Yeah without notice
Starting point is 00:11:49 Unannounced So Sean wanted answers on why ended up going to her work and that's where he saw Nicole getting out of a pickup truck kissing another dude which to be fair she did leave a note saying I left you for another person so it wasn't like he was surprised at that
Starting point is 00:12:04 wasn't expecting to see that though when he followed her to her work that's why Sean followed the guy to an address did some online snooping and other research that I'm guessing is 100% legal and found out that this guy has another girlfriend that's why he needs our help
Starting point is 00:12:20 today he has the other girl's phone number and wants to sound believable when he calls to tell her the story so that she actually might buy it and doesn't just hang up on him. Jose, this is pretty complex, so I'm glad you're going to be the first one giving advice. I am too, Jeff. What do you have to say to Sean? Look, man, if you want to sound believable, you can't be yourself. Wait?
Starting point is 00:12:41 If you come across as a scorned ex, that just throws up a bunch of red flags. Oh, I see. You need to pretend that you're someone else in his life. I don't know if you're a cousin or like a co-worker. Oh, you want him to outright lie about not... Yes. You are now a random person in his life. Sean, what do you think of that idea,
Starting point is 00:13:01 pretending like you already know him to build a little credibility? Yes. Honestly, I think that's a great idea. Well, thank you. That's why they go to me first on this one. A long road to get there, but I think we got somewhere. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:15 I mean, I get what you're saying, Jose, because it does sound super creepy if he includes a lot of details about how he found this guy, Mitch. Yeah, right? The Google search and the following. But also, like, you need to focus on intent.
Starting point is 00:13:29 So you got hurt. It's terrible. And you don't want her to go through the same thing. You don't want anyone to go through the same thing. I think she hangs up on that advice. What do you think, Sean? I think I'm going to go with the first plan. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:44 Okay, she's going to find out you're a liar. Who also stalked her? Her boyfriend is the ultimate liar at this point It's like two lies make a right Sean you feel ready I think I'm ready Maybe be a neighbor you could be a neighbor You know where he lives
Starting point is 00:14:01 She might live with him That's a good point She seems to move in quickly I'm trying to get in on the line Just be as vague as you possibly can with your lies But best of luck we'll jump in when we feel like you need a little help All right I am so nervous right now
Starting point is 00:14:17 We're here. We're here for you, bro. It's good. Mitch's very nervous friend calling for help. It's a good, I like that you're building a character for yourself. Here we go. I'm going to call. Hello? Hi. Is this Michelle? Yes, this is she who's speaking. Hi, I'm Sean. I work with Mitch.
Starting point is 00:14:47 He's your boyfriend, right, or you're married? Yeah, he's my boyfriend. Is everything okay? Oh, he's fine. He's fine. The reason for my call is that Mitch has been leaving work in the middle of the day. And he's gone for a few hours, and then he comes back to the office, and he's just super happy with a big old grin on his face.
Starting point is 00:15:16 How did you get this? number? I'm, what? It seems like maybe you're not listening. He's leaving work and he's coming back really happy. Um, like he had a good
Starting point is 00:15:29 lunch happy, maybe? You mean? He had a great lunch. And it's affecting his work. So, uh, if you could just, uh, stop him. I mean, stop what? I have, what are you trying to insinuate
Starting point is 00:15:45 right now? Whatever, whatever you're doing to entice. Mitch to come home with you for you know romance, good loving whatever he's not doing his job is what I'm saying
Starting point is 00:15:58 and so if you could stop doing that but I'm not meeting Mitch at lunch that's just not I have my own job I have my own work schedule I literally cannot do that that's certainly
Starting point is 00:16:15 interesting because you think you might be meeting someone else? Well, okay, what's going on here? I just think maybe he's seeing somebody at lunch. You must be his manager or something, and I think I might know where he's been going during that time. Where? Where do you think he's going? Well, oh, how do I phrase this?
Starting point is 00:16:46 He has been donating his genetics for who can not reproduce themselves. Well, if I think I know what you're saying, that he's making deposits. Correct. Right. Well, I think you're kind of there. Excuse me? I don't think he's making deposits to a reputable organization. I think he's donating to my ex-girlfriend. What?
Starting point is 00:17:21 Good delivery. That conversation couldn't have gone worse. I mean, that was tasteless. I mean, he walked into it. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, what's going on here? What's happening? Hi, Michelle. Yeah, hi.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Sorry. First of all, we are so sorry for the conversation that just happened. But this is called an awkward Tuesday phone call. We're a radio show, Michelle. Yes. We've been listening. is this is this a prank or something please tell me this is just some sort of joke one of his buddies is doing on me I wish it was a prank but really we're trying to help out our listener Sean here who has
Starting point is 00:17:56 something hard that he needs to tell you Sean I feel like you should take it from here say it now yeah um so I had a girlfriend she left me and then I went to her work and she was getting out of your boyfriend's pick up and kissing him. What? And I think your boyfriend is cheating on you with my ex-girlfriend. I know bitch better than anyone, and I know exactly what's going on in his life and where he goes. This is just ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:18:30 Well, you don't know this. This is something you don't know, and I'm telling you right now. I'm finding this very hard to believe having some random person call me through the radio and make these wild... accusations, which cannot be true. I don't believe this. And honestly, maybe you shouldn't right now, but maybe this will lead to, like, some conversations that you should have with your boyfriend, Mitch,
Starting point is 00:18:54 about where you guys are at in your relationship. Or if you want to avoid that, just put a tracker on his truck and see where it goes. That's creepy. We can help with that. You know, I give you the address of my ex-girlfriend's job, and you could meet me there tomorrow, and we can see the fee for yourself. Oh. Well, that's an invitation.
Starting point is 00:19:13 won't find on a hallmark card, but what do you think, Michelle? Do you want to go stalk your ex-boyfriend with a total stranger? Dude, just saying it in a sentence. There's not 8,000 red flags that even just came up for me. I'm going to say you shouldn't do that, Michelle. I'm just saying, Michelle, I was where you were once. I trusted my partner. I thought it was true love and that nothing could ever come between us. And now I see the light. And I'm just trying to help you see the truth, too. coming from a genuine place. Like, we heard his story earlier, and it sounded pretty believable. Yeah, seriously.
Starting point is 00:19:50 And he was heartbroken, so he just, he really seems like he's looking out for you here. Oof. Um, best case scenario, Sean's mistaken, but it's totally up to you. Yeah. I, uh, I can't believe I'm doing this. Give me the address. Yeah. We're going stocking.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Stop it, Jose. What is terrible. I don't know if it's worth of cheer. What are you doing? I need to figure this out for myself, whether it's true or not true, and just put an end to, hopefully, this prank call. You know, and you don't even need to confront anyone. Just wait in the parking lot, and once you see it, you know what's official, and then you can move on, and you're not going to have to cause a scene. You have to confront this.
Starting point is 00:20:32 Yes, cause a scene. Michelle, you have every right to cause a scene if this all pans out to be true. I mean, because it could turn out this is all just a weird thing, and he's got the wrong person. They're probably just friends and she had stuff on her lip and he was getting it off for her. Yeah, could be, you know. Like some caramel up there. Jeff cleans Brooks mouth off all the time. Yeah, that's just what friends do.
Starting point is 00:20:55 Oh, gross. Anyway, we're sorry about the news, Michelle. I mean, really. Yeah. Definitely, can, will you please do us a favor and let us know what happens when you go to the address? Yeah, I'll let you know if his belongings are on our front lawn by the end of the day. Oh, my God, you do live together. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:21:11 And also, could we get the name of that genetics donation center that he uses? No. Or just in case we need anything. Jeffrey. What are you going to collect it? You never know. It could be a good Saturday or something. No, what?
Starting point is 00:21:23 You literally can't do anything with it. No, you never know. What are you saying? Jeff wants a baby. Leave him alone. I don't know how this works. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Hey, guys, it's AZ Fudd.

I know, but we don't have it yet either. Oh, geez. We have asked for an update from these two, from both parties involved, and we have heard nothing, which either means that everyone forgot about it. It was no big deal. Couple of it after, it wasn't what they thought, their gut feelings said.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Yeah. Or everyone got busted for cheating. No one's together anymore, and everyone's moved on. Yeah. And nobody listens to our show anymore because they're traumatized. You're either a cheater. Why would you want to revisit that? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:13 So, you know, but we do have a lot of comments that have come in. My gosh, so many. I need an updates. I want to follow up. I'm biting my nails. I'm ready to go FBI level stalking. Well, I mean, if you do that, will you update us? I'm not encouraging it, but also.
Starting point is 00:24:31 I almost asked Alexis if they're in the comments somehow. No, but someone did say that they think the two callers should get together. The two people are both being cheated on. That would be. I thought that. I was like that would, but that's more petty to get back at people. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:24:45 If you're both cute. Hey, who knows? I guess. Making lemonade, right? As long as you're single. That's the point. Okay, that's a good call there, Jose. Well, I'm sorry we can't give you the closure you wanted,
Starting point is 00:24:56 but we do appreciate you listening. I guess we'll just take this as a life lesson. Hey, just know we're going to lose sleep tonight too, okay?
