Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an iHeart Podcast. I'm Andrea Gunning, host of the podcast, Betrayal. Police Lieutenant Joel Kern used his badge to fool everyone. Most of all, his wife, Caroline. He texted, I've ruined our lives. You're going to want to divorce me. How far would he go to cover up what he'd done? The fact that you lied is absolutely horrific. And quite frankly, I question how many other women are out there
Starting point is 00:00:57 that may bring forward allegations in the future. Listen to Betrayal on the iHeart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Made for This Mountain podcast exists to empower listeners to rise above their inner struggles and face the mountain in front of them. So during Mental Health Awareness Month, tune into the podcast, focus on your emotional well-being, and then climb that mountain. Starting point is 00:01:28 thing that you refuse to say, hey, this is my mountain, this is the struggle. Listen to Made for This Mountain on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Camp Shane, one of America's longest runningrunning weight loss camps for kids, promised extraordinary results. But there were some dark truths behind Camp Shane's facade of happy, transformed children. Nothing about that camp was right. It was really actually like a horror movie.

DNA test proves he is not the father, now I'm taking the inheritance. Wait a minute, John, who's not the father?
Starting point is 00:02:24 Well, Sam, luckily it's your not the father week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This author writes that my father-in-law is trying to steal the family fortune worth millions from my son, even though it was promised to us, he's trying to give it to his irresponsible son, but I have DNA proof that could get the money back.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Hold up, they could lose their family and millions of dollars? Yep, find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, you found the podcast. It's Brooke and Jeffree in the morning, and welcome to your Sunday special. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:53 A little something different, a little something different we do. And we love one segment. I think we started this maybe two years ago. Maybe initial. I don't even know what we're doing right now. Oh, blind. Ha ha ha.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Blind love is. Yeah. Oh yeah, I love that stuff. There we go, now? Blind love is. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I love that stuff. There we go. Now he's caught up. Now he finally catches up. Yep, yep.
Starting point is 00:03:09 I'm just happy to be here. Sorry. I know. I love that about you. So we got a great episode of that for you starting here in just a second. But we always love to highlight some of our comments of the week.
Starting point is 00:03:19 And what do you like, Alexis? Well, OK, before I butcher this name, I'm just going to shorten it and say, Binder said, listing from Tokyo every day Literally the only thing that cheers me up. I really wish y'all didn't rest on weekends. Lol. Lol And we do have a full show podcast as well if you really want to binge there is a full hour Episode that we do every day all different kinds of segments. Yeah, it has date in there, but there's also some like stupid news and there's, you know, who knows what is going on.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Tinder date, it's called cheating story. Oh yeah, a lot of stuff like that. So if you want to check that out, our main feed is just search Brooke and Jeffrey and you'll find it or you can hit the more like this page. Yeah, and it'll be right there. Yeah, so okay. Thank you. Yeah, let's get this started on a weekend
Starting point is 00:04:07 Have you guys noticed how excited Brooke gets whenever Alexa shares details about her dating life Her voice goes hey her glasses fog up and Brooks like oh my and Then what did the part-time long-haul trucker say? Don't spare him details. We don't have the same type. It's like it was only part-time. Yeah, he couldn't even make it full-time. It's not Brooks fault.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Okay, it's just once you've been married for 10 plus years you have no choice but to live vicariously through other people's love lives It's even weird to hear that I've been married for that long. I love being married, but you know I know you said it to ten years of marriage Luckily we've got two hopeful singles ready to meet for the first time on our show. Brooke's glasses are already on pre-fog in anticipation of a- Oh yeah, look at that.
Starting point is 00:05:13 How many long haul truckers are on the line? We're gonna find out. Brand new Blind Love is coming up right after this. They say love can't be forced. Yeah, that's true. But I don't want to get into Jose's recent court case. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. The thing is, if you can't...
Starting point is 00:05:30 Oh man, and that would insinuate I had any kind of action. The thing is, if you can't force love, at least maybe you can gently nudge it in the right direction. Sure. Okay, I think it needs some guidance. Yeah, that's what we attempt to do with this segment, Blind Love Is. I need some guidance. Yeah, that's what we attempt to do with this segment blind love is Two single listeners who emailed us for other things sometimes
Starting point is 00:05:51 They wanted a second date update that didn't quite work out or maybe it was a battle of the tinder dates They didn't get to do yeah They are willing to meet each other for the very first time right here on our show without ever seeing or knowing anything about one another. We're like guiding chemistry. And like seeing if they have it naturally. The last time we did this, they were so cute together. Yeah. Do you guys remember? I don't know if we've gotten an update from them, but they were darling.
Starting point is 00:06:15 We keep reaching out to them, but they keep hitting ignore. So I don't know. Probably not a good sign, but we are. We're trying to see if sparks fly while we listen in. And today we have two new people who are Open to meeting a total stranger on the radio their names are Lori and Troy and again They have never spoken before this this will be their very first interaction with one another and we've encouraged them to try and ask each Other fun questions just so that we're not bored. Yeah
Starting point is 00:06:45 Hopefully we didn't ruin it for them other fun questions just so that we're not bored. Yeah, well yeah, I mean people are gonna tune out. So, what's your favorite vegetable? What's up? Hopefully we didn't ruin it for them. Let's put them together and find out if truly blind love is. Okay. Let's punch them up here. Lori, are you there? Hi, I'm here.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Okay. And Troy, are you there? Hello there. Okay, we're stepping away now and we're gonna let you two talk. So why don't you introduce yourselves? Go ahead Ladies first, please. Oh my gosh. No you first Okay. All right. I did really weird. Okay. I am Troy. I made copyrighter I am Troy. I'm a copywriter. Well, my name is Lori and I'd like you to remain vigilant
Starting point is 00:07:36 to hear more about me. Okay. Interesting. Okay. Lori's a sexy talker. What is the weirdest compliment you've ever gotten? Okay. One time I went to this banquet thing for an old job of mine and this woman came up to me
Starting point is 00:07:58 and she said that at the time I had a really nice beard. I'm clean shaven at the moment, but she told me that my beard looked like I could be like a cult leader if I wanted to. And I was like, oh no. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. That's a visual. So why would you shave it?
Starting point is 00:08:18 Oh. I think too much power, you know? Okay. I think it's free power. Okay. Lori's looking for a cult to join Okay, all right, let me get one for you What was the most embarrassing date that you've ever gone on?
Starting point is 00:08:39 Well, that one's easy so a few years ago I went out to this fancy restaurant with this guy. And midway through, my grandmother shows up and she was on her own date. I know, I know. And it was so weird because she made this huge scene and she's like laughing out. We're both like single ladies. And she whispers in my ear about like what name she thinks would be like the perfect grandchildren names Grandma take it down a notch, please
Starting point is 00:09:15 So this one time I decided I'd do this kind of impulsive grand romantic gesture and saw some really nice flowers hop the fence and gesture and saw some really nice flowers pop the fence and my pants got caught. I got a big hole right in the back. I had to wear a scarf the rest of the night. You had a scarf but what about down below? Yeah no that's where I had to put the scarf. Oh my god. But I do like that you enjoy grand gestures. I am a total sap. I'm a romantic at heart for sure. Alright, so we might work out after all. We have time for one last question.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Laurie, do you have another one? I have one. I do. What's your favorite memory of childhood? Okay. Okay, that's that is a really good one. I do. What's your favorite memory of childhood? Okay, that is a really good one. I do have a good memory for this one. I remember growing up that my family, we would go to this like old cabin, like this campground that had a bunch of cabins
Starting point is 00:10:17 in the woods. There was this big like nest hall cafeteria and it was like perfect for family reunions. So my family rented a bunch of cabins. I'm so sorry for interrupting you but I had such a similar experience so I'm just over here like that's crazy. Oh so like you had a big family too then? Oh my god I have a really big family and we used to do the exact same thing so weird. Oh no
Starting point is 00:10:45 that's it's fun though I remember I would like sit there on my grandpa Richard's lap you know just eat them ham sandwiches. Oh my god I had a grandpa Richard too that's so weird. Oh no no way. He was married to my grandma Eileen she was just awesome oh that's a that's a pretty weird coincidence yes grandpa Richard also married Eileen wait that's not a coincidence then so this wasn't all in like central Oregon was it oh my god Look your family's last name Okay Let's cut the romantic music as quickly as possible
Starting point is 00:11:45 Wow She was just hitting on her cousin Oh my god, okay Wow She was just hitting on her cousin Don't sound so excited when you say it Wait are you little Lori Parker? Oh god, I'm not little anymore What a waste of time I'm scarred well, I would thought you would want to continue with this more than Yeah, there definitely was a clear connection happening. I didn't know it was a family connection Okay. Yeah To a male cousin to not know who is relative
Starting point is 00:12:27 All right, well we got to at least ask the audience to to text in to 78592 if they felt a spark going on. No way! You know, I'm glad the spark wasn't that strong. Yeah! They sound like they got along great like cousins do! Yeah, no, exactly. We met each other decades ago, we've known each other, that's why we have the connection. Okay. Laurie is really regretting that giggle and saying, I think this could work.
Starting point is 00:12:44 No! No! No! You know what? I feel like he should be way more embarrassed than me because I was younger. So I was like, that's good. Yeah, Troy, you creep. What are you doing?
Starting point is 00:12:56 I am literally texting a whole cousin chat right now. No, I would not. I would just go and subscribe it. You wanted my other cousins in on this? Yeah, what the heck? I didn't know! Troy, you should be married. You're so old. Oh, God! Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Alright, we're gonna let Lori and Troy go and work out their issues separately. We're gonna get two new people and try this again. We'll make sure that they have the different last names this time. Yeah, when you email us any of your last names, we're now on VHS. It's an easy check. We're gonna do it with a brand new edition of Blind Love Is, non-cousins coming up right after this. We are back for part two of Blind Love Is. We have ditched our previous two callers
Starting point is 00:13:39 for two brand new ones. OK. Not going to get worse, Jeff. We're only uphill from here. It's a good point. I feel like we need to put out a big disclaimer. If you believe there's any chance you might be related to the other person on the line,
Starting point is 00:13:52 please make that obvious to us. Yeah, let us know. I was thinking maybe we should get this segment sponsored by Ancestry.com. Just to do a deep dive before everyone comes on. We maybe should look into it. It's not a 23 and me. It's just and me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:06 The sales team needs to get on that. But like I said, we have two new people with us right now. Their names are Aaron and Jeremy. And again, these are listeners who- Sorry. I thought you were going to say Aaron and Jeremy. And I'm like, even them rhyming is hurting. Too close. Hopefully, they are not family members.
Starting point is 00:14:22 But also, they are people who've tried to do second date updates with us that we couldn't complete for them for whatever reason So we asked if instead they'd be open to meeting someone new here on our show without knowing anything about the other person They've never seen each other. They don't know anything about one another. That's why this is truly blind love Yeah, and let's not forget. there's like a lot of people listening That is true Like honestly there's like millions of people listening to our show now It's so brave to do this Yeah that's what I'm trying to get at
Starting point is 00:14:51 The risk is high so Aaron and Jeremy are you both there? I'm here How's it going? Okay Hey they both have good energy Sounds like two people on the phone They are okay Aaron just real quick do you have any cousins or family members named Jeremy that you know We don't do Jays in my bloodline
Starting point is 00:15:18 Maybe the connection is good with Jeremy you'll make an exception for him, but we're just gonna back away We are gonna stay quiet and let you two talk for the first time to find out if blind love truly is. Jeremy, go ahead, say hi, introduce yourself. Hello, how's it going? I'm Jeremy. Hi Jeremy, I'm Erin. Hi Erin.
Starting point is 00:15:40 Hi, nice to meet you, Jeremy with a J. Yes, Jeremy with a J. Nice meeting you too. Okay. So, can I ask you a question? Okay, yes, of course. So in the last year, what's been a triumph or a success that you're really, really proud of. Oh, well, I know this might sound kind of weird, but I finally got over my ex.
Starting point is 00:16:14 It took a bit, but yeah. Something to add? It's good. Did you say got over or got with, I'm sorry, what? Get over, get over my my wish oh no okay I don't think he meant physically yeah we dated for a couple of years but she's in a rearview with some other guys oh yeah it's over over I moved on okay all right moving on is good let's move on on. All right. Well, what about you?
Starting point is 00:16:45 What's the success that you've had? Okay. You know, I'm really proud, like, because I started taking cooking sessions six months ago. I've always wanted to be better. And now, like, I can make brownies. That is so cool. It's funny. I actually took a cooking class too a few years ago with somebody who,
Starting point is 00:17:08 I'm not gonna mention, but it was really, it was so fun and romantic and positive memories. It was great. Romantic memories. Oh God. Well, you know, it's positive because I do now know what not to do if we ever do hang out. Oh, I want to bring those. Oh, no, no, no, no, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:17:29 It's fine again. Like I said, it's in the review. Oh, yeah. Let's just not do any jogging locally. You know, like jogging. I'm about to go for a hike right now. No, it is great. It's just that certain person that is currently doing that. I've seen the photos on social media.
Starting point is 00:17:48 Oh, God. Geez. With their new person. Wait, wait. So like, social media? I thought you said you'd moved on. Oh, yeah. I totally have. It's just,, you know a warning that we probably shouldn't do that Can you just tell me what you're looking for when you're at her social media like oh god Like I mean listen you keep saying her but she has a name is Yvonne and she's a good person Okay, you know what yeah, I think let's cut the work
Starting point is 00:18:29 I don't know if this one is going worse or the first call Maybe I'm reading it wrong. I don't know. Thanks. Brooke, what's your take on this lovely couple? Oh, Jeremy, I know you say you're over Yvonne, but I don't know that you are. Yvonne with a Y. Okay. Yeah, again, that's- She does deserve respect. It shouldn't matter.
Starting point is 00:18:55 She brought it up. She was talking about cooking classes. It triggered me. Aaron, it wasn't very nice of you to ask him questions about his ex. Why would we cry like that? It wasn't very nice. We're joking, Aaron. Aaron, how did you feel? I you to ask him questions about his ex. Why would we cry like that? It wasn't very nice. We're joking, Aaron.
Starting point is 00:19:06 Aaron, how did you feel? I'm kind of at a loss for words. Like, it's ridiculous for me that he says he's over his ex, and he spends the whole time talking about his ex. Yeah. It's kind of ironic. Well, seriously? And her new man, though.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he's taken. So there's no chance that they're getting back together. Not with the her. Her name is Yvonne. Okay. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:19:30 We're just trying not to mention. Look. No, just forget it. Just forget it? Well, no. Look, I'm still going to give you guys the opportunity to meet up in real life without having ever seen each other first. There's still some mystery there.
Starting point is 00:19:40 Oh, no. Because remember, this is Blind Love Is. And I think- You still say yes, I guess. Jeremy, if you were really open- Yeah, but it's not Deaf Love Is. I heard what he said. He's very much open- There because remember this is blind love is It's not death love is I heard You're not that excited about it Aaron not at all he can keep following her on social media We should totally rip off that segment and do it on our show. It doesn't work very well in radio.
Starting point is 00:20:07 It's not gonna do well in radio, Jeff. I think we should try it and see how it rates. Some from me, maybe. We'll try it. I need to find somebody who's ready for a relationship and he is clearly not. Oh, yeah. I'm ready for a relationship.
Starting point is 00:20:19 I was with Yvonne for a long time. She won't take me back now, so I'm ready. Desperate for one, almost. She won't take me back now, so I'm ready. Desperate for one almost. Maybe Jeremy, you do a little bit more work and we'll have you back again for another edition of Blind Love Is. Or do you want to do it last time and look within your family?
Starting point is 00:20:41 I was thinking we just need to find him a woman named Yvonne. And then she won't know. Oh, I agree, I agree. I was thinking we just need to find him a woman named Yvonne and then Very very healthy for you Jeremy, okay, we got your back, bro I'm gonna go join a jogging club He's going back to find her yeah, so that was blind love is make sure text in seven eight five8592 if you want to meet somebody. On this very successful segment. Yes. You could be one of our success stories
Starting point is 00:21:10 for the next edition of Blind Love Is. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. I'm Andrea Gunning, host of the podcast Betrayal. Have you ever thought about going voiceover?
Starting point is 00:23:34 I'm Hope Woodard, a comedian, creator, and seeker of male validation. I'm also the girl behind voiceover, the movement that exploded in 2024. You might hear that term and think it's about celibacy, but to me, voiceover is about understanding yourself outside of sex and relationships. It's flexible, it's customizable, and it's a personal process. Singleness is not a waiting room. You are actually at the party right now. Let me hear it. Listen to voiceover on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is an iHeart Podcast.
