Starting point is 00:00:00 Oh my gosh, you have to listen all the way to at least TikTok click shock today. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. We got your full show on the way because your kids' lunch could be making you thousands of dollars. Dang. Just going to leave it at that. I'm going to leave it at that. You're going to find out why coming up. Plus, an update, update from a couple that was on over eight months ago.
Starting point is 00:00:19 We finally got them back on the show. It's one of the most viral second dates of the year. So you definitely want to stick around to hear that as well. But first comments, Alexis. Yes. Well, two things I want to say. the phone tap you did with Jeff the other day. We had a lot of comments about it.
Starting point is 00:00:32 It's a Hall of Famer. A lot of nominations for top 10 phone taps of the year. Oh, yeah. The chat bot one. Yes, the chat bought one. But a comment I also wanted to read about our mass speaker. Okay.
Starting point is 00:00:44 From Fitbri, it was the guy who worked at the movie theater and played the wrong movie. Oh, that's right. She said, I can so relate to the mass speaker. I worked at the movies when we accidentally played a saw movie instead of Door or the Explorer.
Starting point is 00:00:56 No. No. Yes. Oh my God. That is awful. How long did it take? Just to the first saw scene. Oh, she said one bloody opening scene. Oh, yeah. There's all right. So, don't worry.
Starting point is 00:01:09 It's only a couple kids scarred. Yeah. Let's get to your brand new full hour right now. Well, friends, it's finally happening. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. We have flipped the calendar to October 1st. Dude, we're here. Which means it's now officially spooky season.
Starting point is 00:01:27 We've arrived and the pumpkins are coming out. The 12-foot skeletons are going up. And here at our radio station, we celebrate the most sacred of October traditions. One that we look forward to every single year. Or at least Brooke does. And it's time for that annual ceremony. So everyone, please rise. Show your respect as we unpack from storage, the hallowed.
Starting point is 00:01:57 Office candy bowl. There she is. It's empty, but it's still beautiful. Golden, majestic. Sharp. It's elegant curves, shimmering in the glow of the fluorescent lights. I feel like we're in church right now.
Starting point is 00:02:13 Like a holy grail. It has to be held high above our heads. All hail the mighty office candy bowl. A receptionist anymore. That's a problem. Now, Brooke mentioned the one tiny issue with our beautiful golden vessel of confections. she is empty.
Starting point is 00:02:33 You're not going to ask the listeners. The question is who will fill this bad boy first? One can fill it herself. Will it be a generous listener of our show? Yes, sacrificial. Someone unknowingly from the sales department. Dude, I went and checked their candy bowl the other day. All I've got is some really old almond roca in there.
Starting point is 00:02:55 It's bleak. That does not belong in the holy candy bowl. Could the ghost of Willy Wonka visit our studio perhaps and bless us? That would be so cool. The Chocolate River? We don't know. All we can do is wait and pray for good fortune and many Reese's cups to rain down upon us. Okay, this just means he wants you to send in a bag of candy.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Like every year the listeners feed Brooke, I don't know why. I thought it meant he wanted me to take my top off and do a ceremonial dance. No, I definitely don't want that. But judging, by the way, Brooke is staring at the bull, I can tell her candy lust has already. begun. So just to satisfy it, I'm going to put in the first candy donation of spooky season. Oh, you have a rich in his pocket. The candy has been donated. And it's, Brooke already grabbed it. It looks great. It looks like it's been in your pocket for at least three washes. Yeah, bro. That has been through a dry cycle, for sure. That just packs in extra sweetness into the wrapper.
Starting point is 00:03:55 So we need some chocolate and caramel in here. Listen to what's inside of your heart right now and donate generously to the Brooke and Jeffery's studio. If your conscience tell you to, that's up to you. But now it's official. Let your conscience be your guy. Yes, the candy bowl is out. October's here and we are on to the shot color question of the day. Sending it over to Digital Jake.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Let's go. It's officially spooky season. Oh yeah. Which means for the next month, it's socially acceptable for adults to dress like sexy versions of occupations. that have never been sexy. That's true. Sexy scuba diver? Sure.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Okay. Sexy mechanic? Okay. Yeah. That works. Sexy regional manager at Verizon? Why not? Uh-la-la.
Starting point is 00:04:39 We've got two buttons undone. Look at that khaki pan. This year, Americans are expected to drop $4.4 billion dollars on Halloween costumes alone. Wow. But did you know, costume trends have changed a lot over the years? And that's why today we're going trick-or-treating through the decades. during a special Ghosts of Costumes Past Edition of Plenty of 20.
Starting point is 00:05:04 That sounds fun. So you'll say number one through 20 and I'll give you a decade. You have to tell me which trendy new costume people started wearing at that period in time. And of course, I'll give you a hint to go with it. Okay. We'll start with the woman who, based on her spray tan, must be preparing to dress as a sexy 1970s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory umpalumpa. Oh, I see it now.
Starting point is 00:05:26 I actually saw Elicitor Tech said in the other day. Using green hair. That's Alexis. A seven. Alexis, in the 1930s, dressing up for Halloween was still a newer thing for Americans. Some of the most popular costumes back then were the basic ones we still have today. Witches, goblins, skeletons, but there was also one extremely popular costume based on farm life, because, duh, farms were a big deal in the 1930s.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Tell me, what would that costume be? Are you dressing as a cow as a kid? A cow one piece with the little udders. I feel like babies still do that now. Yeah, that was so good. Got nothing else I'm going to cows. Show me cow. The letters of your answer are in the letters for this one.
Starting point is 00:06:11 That gets you zero points, but a fun fact, nonetheless, Scarecrow. Oh. In the 1930s, along with all the traditional costumes, like Ghost Witch, and the Scarecrow was just as popular. Plus, your clothes were already tattered. You just throw some hay. from your bed and you're gonna go.
Starting point is 00:06:27 All right, Alexis is out. Brooke, it's your turn, seven's off the board. Uh, 12. Brooke, you're a 90s kid, right? Oh, yeah, yeah. At least that's what you tell people and they try and believe you. In the 90s, the idea of the group costume
Starting point is 00:06:39 started to gain momentum, especially because of a popular group that was featured on a children's TV show. Boys and girls could dress up as their favorite one, complete with plastic masks. Yep. Which group am I talking about? Well, I'll tell you, when I was five,
Starting point is 00:06:54 that would have still been in the eight. 80s, I really wanted to be Papa Smurf. Strange, I wouldn't admit that. Yeah. But I don't think that's the group you're talking about. I think the group that dominated my elementary school was definitely the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Starting point is 00:07:09 The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is not what I was looking for. They were an honorable mention, but I was looking for the Power Rangers. From 1993 to 1995, three years in a row, the most popular kids costume. Jose were over to you. Maybe you'll be the first one to get one right.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Pick a number that's not seven or 12. Five. Back in the 70s, the rubber mask became a thing for trick-or-treaters. That allowed kids to dress up like their favorite characters, like Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Barbie, and Ken, and characters from one huge movie that broke box office records in 1977. Name this film. I'm trying to think of the oldest Halloween movie franchises,
Starting point is 00:07:49 because I don't really watch them. But I think Freddie Kruger's pretty old. All right, do it. So I'm gonna cautiously say Freddy Kruger. So Nightmare on Elm Street? Nightmare on Elm Street. Well, I'll take it. I can't give you credit for it.
Starting point is 00:08:03 It was not a Halloween movie, but it was very popular. Star Wars was released in 1977. Licensed Halloween costumes made the franchise millions of dollars. How many Yoda? Jeffrey, it's your turn. Five, seven, and twelve. We're off the board. I'll go ten for October.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Okay, weird. Oct means eight. Jeffrey, in the early 2000s, dressing as a celebrity for Halloween became a big thing. It wasn't uncommon to see you, Brittany Spears, your J. Lo, your Anna Montana, all walk by you and one candy-filled night. But there's one celeb that stands out from them all as the most purchased costume of the 2000s. Oh. Can you name it? 2000s.
Starting point is 00:08:44 It could have been the simple life with Harrison Nicole. Yeah, that's true. Wasn't the OJ trial big back then? In early 2000? Yeah. So, the O.J. trial was like 19. 94. Well, it takes a while sometimes for to really seep into the culture. So I got to consider the lawyer's Robert Shapiro and my favorite Johnny Cochran. Juice. If the candy wrapper don't fit, you must eat it. Wait, you're going to stick with this?
Starting point is 00:09:08 Well, I'm just saying you have to consider them. You have to. Who else was big back then? I guess that leads me with 2000s heartthrob, 8 Mile Eminem. Oh, Marshall Mathers M&M is not the answer I was looking for. Michael Jackson. It was one of the most popular costumes of the early 2000. You just wear one glove. Yeah, save as the OJ thing, exactly. You guys get no candy, and none of you win today's plenty of 20. In fact, I win. All right, well, Jake gets to choose which one of us get shocked.
Starting point is 00:09:41 They're going to be singing the oompa-lumpa song. Who's it going to be? That's going to be Jose. All right, go for it, Jose. I thought it was going to be Alexis. Umpa-lumpa-d-do. I've got a perfect puzzle. for you.
Starting point is 00:09:55 There you go. It's a shock collar question of the day. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. One of our listeners got into an argument when he was 11 years old that led him to seek out the pettiest type of revenge. It ultimately snowballed
Starting point is 00:10:14 into a giant debacle that he's been keeping under wraps for the last 30 years. Oh no. But now he's finally ready to tell the world what really happened. Of course, through a secret voice change. Yeah, of course. But I will say there was a happy ending with a million dollar solution. Literally, you're going to hear it in a brand new mass speaker right now. You don't know me. A confession I can't take back. I am the masked speaker. Text to 78592 says, I just learned the other day that a booty call does not mean the
Starting point is 00:10:53 same thing as a butt dial. After I told my friends, I booty called my dad. Oh, no. That's not good. You know what, but we'll accept them if you're, tell us your secrets here on the mass speaker, and we'll even keep you anonymous by putting you down as pizza hut in our context.
Starting point is 00:11:10 So nobody will find out. And today, we have a caller who wants to come clean using Joel as his fake identity. So Joel, welcome to the show. All right. How's it going? Oh, is this a butt dial or a booty call, Joel? What are we to you? Either way, voice changer is on.
Starting point is 00:11:26 You are the mass speaker. Whenever you're ready, let's hear your confession. All right. So, for context, I'm 40 years old. This is when Alexis says that she's sorry about that. I understand why you disguised your voice now. Okay. The thing I'm confessing is from when I was 11 years old.
Starting point is 00:11:46 All right. Oh, wow. That's a long time to hold a secret. Yeah, we're going back to the 90s. So when I was a kid, a long time ago. My family took me and my sister. We went on a vacation to Hawaii.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Ooh. Dang. That's incredible. Yeah, Paradise. Yeah. It was, yeah, Paradise, sure. Put that on a postcard. Paradise, sure.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Here you go. So the day we're leaving, I gave in this big little argument with my parents because I wanted to pack my heelies. Oh, yeah. Remember the heelies? Yeah. The shoes with them.
Starting point is 00:12:23 wheels on the bottom where you can walk or skate around. It didn't want me to pack the Eelies because I guess we're on the beach. Yeah. Healy's in sand. Don't mix. Yeah. Well, it doesn't matter to an 11-year-old. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:37 An 11-year-old I needed. I wanted those. Yeah, you want to roll up into the hotel lobby and glide up to that front desk. Oh, yeah. Yeah. So I'm very upset. I have an immature mind. And as we're about to all leave for the airport, everyone's in the car.
Starting point is 00:12:52 I decide in my fury to tell them, oh, wait, I got to get something from inside. And I even remember my mom saying, don't get the healy's. And I'm like, oh, I'm not getting the healy's. Okay. I went upstairs into their bedroom into their master bathroom.
Starting point is 00:13:07 And I stopped up the sink with the stopper and I turned the sink on full blast. What? What? What? Trying to flood the roof. This is not where I thought you were going. No.
Starting point is 00:13:19 This doesn't make sense. Dude, it'd be better if you just like took some cash from your dad's stash or something, you know? You did that, what, to get revenge on them? I was a kid. Oh, my God. Wow. I hope my 12-year-old and 9-year-old are smarter than this.
Starting point is 00:13:33 Yeah. Well, let them bring the Healy's. I think Healy's going to get taken away in this. Are you still taking that angle? Like, it's their fault. They didn't let me take them. No, no, no. No, I feel bad.
Starting point is 00:13:45 The worst is that, so we got to Hawaii, and within the same day that we got to Hawaii, My dad's getting called that our house has flooded. Oh, my God. I'm glad they had a neighbor check on your house or something to figure it out. Oh, man. It was bad. It, like, totally ruined the floors, came through the ceiling.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Oh. Yeah, it was bad. Did you guys have to leave? Like, did you have to cut your Hawaii? We actually stayed. Oh. He stayed. That was his, he was like, we're staying.
Starting point is 00:14:14 We were in Hawaii. That's why I say, yeah, sure. Oh, that's yet, sure. Because we were all, it ruined. It ruined that vacation. I mean, it ruined it for your parents, but for you, you're probably like, yeah, got him. I tell you go home and realize everything you like it. And he still never had the Healy's.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Like, you didn't win anything. I didn't win anything. No Healy's. I was pretty terrified the whole time that somehow they were going to find out. Even my sister was like, dude, you did that. Wait. Wait. How did your sister know?
Starting point is 00:14:45 You never told anyone? We blamed it on the cat. The cat. She said the cat probably did it. Oh, the cat, like, turn the, hit the knob. I guess, yeah, sure. Wow, they, I can't believe they'd never put it together that you went in and sabotaged the sink. I would never think that.
Starting point is 00:15:02 Yeah. Yeah. Like a pipe burst or something. Yeah. That's a good point. That's a good point. I mean, obviously the sink was still on, so they knew that it was that the sink was on, but. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:15:13 I mean, that is, like, extreme. $100,000 in damage. Yeah. What we're saying is A-plus revenge. Well, God. You definitely showed them. I also have done my best to make it up for them. I have never told them what I did.
Starting point is 00:15:28 But now that I'm an adult, no longer a mad kid, I'm a tech guy. Some years ago, I made a startup that I sold for a lot of money. And I was actually able to buy my parents a new house. Oh, you didn't just buy them when you sink? Yeah. Now I'm the best. And that's how you tell them.
Starting point is 00:15:48 See, this one doesn't have a stopper in it. Yeah, this one's automatic. I see it. So you're buying your way out of the guilt. I guess I'm still here. As a good sun should. Oh, my God. Wow.
Starting point is 00:16:01 That is wild. Did you guys have to move out while they did all the construction? Because you'd have to rip out all the drywall, everything. It was a whole ordeal. Insurance was involved. We were put in a hotel. Oh, and insurance covered it. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:16:15 That's a crime now. Yeah. Oh, my God. But at least you got to wear your helies to that temporary. hotel with you state. I was rolling around. There you go. That lobby had a bunch of skid marks on it.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Big win for Joel that day. I don't know. I bet the Healy's there wasn't quite as much joy after that. They're tainted now. Maybe not. But a point is you came back even if it took you over 30 years to confess, you finally did it. Oh, man. I mean, not to them.
Starting point is 00:16:43 Not to us. Don't tell them ever. That's all that matters. Or the insurance company. But text in to 785, 92. If you have a confession, you've been holding. holding on to. We'll hide your identity, mask your voice and make you our next mask speaker. Your phone tap's coming up right after this. It's almost time for your prank call. It's Brooke and
Starting point is 00:16:58 Jeffrey in the morning. And youth sports are getting more and more competitive every single year. It's wild and more expensive. And I'm not just talking about select teams. I'm talking about school athletics too. That's why today I call a woman to tell her that we see huge potential in her son's athletic journey. Oh, no. Don't start this. But we believe he can be better if she gives us the okay to do whatever it takes to give him the ultimate edge over the competition.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Why do I feel like she's going to say yes, no matter what? You're going to find out in your phone tap right now. Brooklyn Jeffrey's phone taps on the 20s. Hello? Hi, I'm looking to speak with the parents of Connor Pichu. This is his mom. Hi, are you, are you, let me see, is this Tara? Terry.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Terry, I apologize. Hi, Terry. I'm the swim coach over at B. B.B. High school. My name's Huck Treadwell. Hi, how are you? I'm doing good.
Starting point is 00:18:03 Listen, I'm calling because I just met with Connor. And even though he's a freshman, he said his goal was to swim for the varsity team this year. Yeah. Yeah, he does want to swim varsity. He's really excited about it. I'm more excited. excited because I believe that he has the potential to become the next great swimmer in our district. Really?
Starting point is 00:18:26 Which is why Connor and I discussed his options, and we both agree he'd be a great candidate for surgery. Surgery, he's not hurt. Well, no, this is a different type of procedure. It's called a breathing bypass. I don't know what that is. Basically, excellent swimmers, like your son, specifically in the crawl stroke category can shave two whole seconds off their lap time by surgically placing a small tube in a hole in the back of their neck.
Starting point is 00:18:59 What? Are you joking? No, because the hole allows them to breathe without needing to turn their head out of the water. Are you serious? I have never heard of anything like this in my life. Oh, ma'am, you would not believe it. It is running rampant right now through the colleges. Every athlete is trying to get an edge.
Starting point is 00:19:17 I'm sure you can understand. No, I don't have to understand anything. I'm about to get on the phone with the principal and have a long conversation. Listen, I understand that the thought of surgery can sound a little ridiculous, but even the butterfly kids are putting portholes into their armpits. Have you heard that? Have I heard of kids getting portholes in their arms to help them swim? No, I fucking haven't.
Starting point is 00:19:40 What kind of coach are you? This is not me, man. This is from the latest Sports Illustrated. I'm sorry. Are you talking about the swimsuits? issue? I don't think that you should be a coach. Just normal the sports. Yeah, no. Although I will admit
Starting point is 00:19:54 the swimsuit issue is one of my favorites. So inappropriate. I'm talking about an actual athlete, a girl who got a full scholarship to USC after she received a gilloplastie. A gillow what? I actually think you're out of your mind. It's called
Starting point is 00:20:10 a gilloplasti. No, don't say that word again. I'm going to have a stroke. It sounds worse than it is. It's just installing gills into the side no that's insane that's ridiculous i'm going to hang up with you now and call the principal never talk to my son again ma'am i'm getting that you're like angry with me but you need to understand if we do nothing then your son is going to be left behind yes but he's not going to have others will leave him i i don't want to crush connor's dreams that way do you i don't want connor to have
Starting point is 00:20:40 unnecessary ridiculous surgery because a maniac decided it was a good idea so i think this isn't a new thing. I had three students do it last year with incredible success. Does the school know about this? They do. They signed off on it. And the only drawback, the one, I don't believe you. I will say the one drawback that we had was Thanksgiving. What the hell does Thanksgiving have to do with this? We've had two incidents of severe gravy drip. Are you telling me that gravy is dripping out of the necks of your students because you had them do some kind of stupid, unnecessary surgery? Just so you know, the hole isn't permanently open. What? They can plug it with stainless steel stoppers or an old wine cork if you're in a pinch.
Starting point is 00:21:24 No, I don't want to hear any more. You're going to get fired. You might be right if I actually worked for the school. Unfortunately, I don't, though. I'm actually a radio host doing a prank phone call on you. What? My actual name is Jeff from the radio show Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning, and Connor wanted us to do a phone tap on you.
Starting point is 00:21:44 What? It's a joke. Connor, he listens to our show. He told us to reach out and prank you because he said he's going into high school this year, and you were really nervous about him getting older. You know, I would think this is funny? Is it too weird? You're asking me if it's too weird to call and tell me that you're putting a surgical hole in the back of my son's neck.
Starting point is 00:22:11 It will shave two seconds off his lap time. What is wrong with you? I mean, Connor liked the idea. I don't know, young people in their humor. And neither is his neck. And we can do something about it. Shut up. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:22:30 Broken Jeffrey's phone taps on the 20s. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. I know you probably don't want to hear this, but we are getting closer to the end of the year already. Oh, wow. It's flown by. Out of all the second date calls that we've done since January, this one may have been one of the most viral, which is why we've been emailing and calling and texting this particular couple. And finally, we got a response back.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Yay! So now we can get an update on there, especially weird situation that unfolded here on our show. We're going to have them back for a long-awaited second-date update update right after this. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update. Can you dream your perfect date into reality? Oh, well, you can sure try. I know it sounds a little different,
Starting point is 00:23:24 but we've got one lady on the phone who says she did just that. Really? No way. Dreamed it, then did it. Okay, manifested. Yeah. I was going to come up with a nickname for her,
Starting point is 00:23:36 but I don't know her first name, so. You should dream of a nickname first, and then it can become a reality. And I don't know who or how or when why, but it would suck if you dreamed up your perfect date and then now they're not calling you back. Oh, yeah. Unless, Ali, did you
Starting point is 00:23:52 dream that you were going to have to talk to our show to on your love journey? Was that part of it? I did not dream that specifically, no. We're usually in nightmares. Yeah. We're going to move on from all of our hurt feelings about what you just said. And we're going to go ahead.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Let's start at the beginning. Take us back to how it all began. Yeah. So I will actually went to, it was like a self-improvement seminar, I guess you would call it. There's one speaker in particular, and the whole thing you were trying to say is the reason you're not giving what you want in life is because you're not asking the universe for the thing you want. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:32 I can see that. Okay. I feel like I ask my mom to not call me anymore, and yet I feel like, if anything, I just get more phone calls. Well, did you ask your mom not to call you, or did you ask the universe? Jeff's mom Jeff's mom is his universe No
Starting point is 00:24:49 No but I see Okay I see your point though You're making a mistake I got you All right so you have to ask the universe For what you want Yeah the message resonated with me
Starting point is 00:24:59 And so I went home And I would ask the universe To bring me a boyfriend Oh okay Wow What I started doing was I took out my sketchbooks And I started drawing men
Starting point is 00:25:13 to the point where I was drawing the same man over and over again. What? What? Do not tell me you met this man in real life, the one you were drawing. Well, I am on the app, but like none of them look like this guy until one day. No. You don't have the eight-pack abs that I sketched next. Do you sketch height?
Starting point is 00:25:38 Do you sketch height in bank accounts, too? There was a lot of things that matched You know, like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Dark hair, he had dark hair. It was like a similar haircut. Even the shape of the glasses, I drew glasses on him And he wore the same shape, Wow.
Starting point is 00:25:55 Oh my God. So obviously you swiped right on him. Yes. And it's exactly like the seminar said. You put it out there and, you know, I put it out there. I said it vocally and I drew and I drew until, yeah. It's nice to know that if you're really, really obsessively. with someone, eventually they have to come to you.
Starting point is 00:26:14 It feels good. I don't know. I mean, what was the connection like when you started talking? So what happened was we exchanged numbers. Yeah. And this was good conversation right away. The same day, we went from messaging to texting to calling. Oh.
Starting point is 00:26:29 I find out he has a great job. He's in the tech industry. He tells me about his family. Okay. Then we switched to FaceTime. Whoa. Oh, wow. FaceTime?
Starting point is 00:26:37 That could be awkward. Yeah. But it's a safe, good way to tell us. like kind of like I can get a vibe. I can know what he sounds like, his mannerisms. And like this was probably around like 6.45 when we were face-time. Sorry, how many seconds, 6.45 and how many seconds? Wait.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Did you ever meet in person or is this your date? We planned to meet in person. Like we talked during face time. We were eating our dinner together. It was like we were at a restaurant together. Okay. Gotcha. So earlier when you said that the banter between you was good, that was never happening in person.
Starting point is 00:27:09 This is all over the fun. and video chat. Yeah, but you know when you're on FaceTime with someone you can get like a really good idea. That's okay. You don't have to make excuses for your dream guy. I understand. You can use filters and cool backgrounds.
Starting point is 00:27:22 That's good. And I wanted to go on an in-person date with how quickly we moved through the channel, getting to FaceTime. But it hasn't happened. You're like you're going really, really quickly through it. Alexis, is this sounding like skeptical to you or is it going really fast?
Starting point is 00:27:39 You didn't show him the sketchbook over FaceTime, did you? Because that would be too much. He saw the pre-manifesting. Or was the picture of him framed in the background? Yeah. I don't understand how that would be a problem, but I am curious how she answers. Jeff would be flattering. You know, I told him that I sketch and that I do portraits, but I didn't directly say I drew him.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Okay. That's better. Because then that would be a little much. But you can insinuate, I had a feeling that I was going to meet somebody like you in the near future. Even that's a little... I mean, it is odd that a guy would be that invested to do all of this, the phone calls and the face time and then just drop off afterwards. It doesn't seem like that much to do a FaceTime. Really?
Starting point is 00:28:20 I feel like it is. He sat on there and ate dinner with her on the phone. I was confused with her why. I haven't heard anything. I texted him. I sent him messages on Instagram. He has totally dropped off since the FaceTime. He asked me my question, Jeff.
Starting point is 00:28:31 If it was too much. All right. So I don't know if you already told us this, but what's this guy's name? Chris. Chris. Perfect universe Chris. Not Christopher. No.
Starting point is 00:28:41 We'll stick with Chris, God of the Universe, when we come back and call him and try and get you a second date with your perfect man that you manifested for yourself. Wow. That's amazing. It's coming up right after this. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update. You're in the middle of a second date update update, and we're going to find out how the couple is doing right after you here, part two.
Starting point is 00:29:04 Dreams can truly become reality. Aw. So inspirational. I know that for two reasons. The first is because Brooke got to work with me in her career. That is. I think she's mentioned it on her social media many, many times. How badly she wanted to work directly with me.
Starting point is 00:29:23 And now her dream has come true. You may be looking at the wrong social media handle. Brooke is embarrassed that the truth is coming out. My face is all over her dream board at her desk. Yes. But the second way that I know dreams can become reality is our list. Listener, Ali, said that she went to a self-improvement seminar where she was told she can ask the universe for anything. And she went home and asked for a boyfriend. Then started drawing the same
Starting point is 00:29:52 guy over and over again in her sketchpad, ended up matching with him on the dating apps. Unfortunately, now the guy is not calling her back. The thing I worried about is that you put so much pressure on him, on yourself, with this whole dream part. I just don't know. what I'm going to do, you know? It's like I got the advice. It really resonated. And I spent hours drawing him and I really got it perfect. So I don't know what I'm going to do if this doesn't work out. There's always another guy to draw. Don't worry, Ali. Yeah, draw a better guy, hotter guy. Guy with 2020 vision even, you know? I know. Brooke draws photos of me all the time and hangs them around her station. She does. It's okay. I know I'm bringing the truth out
Starting point is 00:30:35 in this segment. And it's very embarrassing for Brooke. Yes, I'm very humiliated. Thank you for Okay, so here I'm going to dial this guy, Chris. Hopefully he picks up and we can get you two back together, maybe for the first time, face-to-face in real life. I am going to ask the universe to help you help him. I hope the universe is too busy. But we do need all the help we can get. So we'll let the universe in.
Starting point is 00:30:58 I'm going to start dialing the number right now. Here we go. Hey, we're looking to speak with Chris. Speaking, who's this? Hey, this is a radio show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Hey, Chris. Hi. I'm good, guys.
Starting point is 00:31:21 No, no, no, no. Don't hang up. No, we're not. Sorry, we don't mean to like it barge into your life right now, Chris. But we're doing something called a second date update, trying to help out one of our listeners that you matched with on a dating app recently, a girl named Allie. Oh, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:31:41 What? It never ends. Is that what you just said? No. Okay. What do you mean it never ends? She just keeps texting me and she asks to hang out and I actually think that she thinks that I'm somebody else.
Starting point is 00:31:57 What? What do you mean? Well, I don't know. I don't know what she told you, but we started texting on the apps. Yeah. And she tells me that I've been dreaming of meeting you. And first I'm like, all right, she might be an artist.
Starting point is 00:32:13 She's kind of, you know, into that stuff. And then... Yeah, it's romantic. I mean, it can probably feel like a lot. Yeah, I think a lot of people express excitement in different ways. That was probably her way of just saying, I'm so glad that I matched with you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:26 Right? It was sweet until it wasn't. And she sends me the sketch of a guy. Oh, she did. Oh, she sent you. Oh, okay. We didn't know that. Yeah, she sent a sketch of this guy, and it is not me.
Starting point is 00:32:39 But it's someone that I do know. What do you mean you know him? What? And my profile pics on my app, my uncle is in two of them. Wait, your uncle is in the pictures of your profile? And it is the spitting image of this guy that she's sketched. She's drawing your uncle. Wow, the universe did her.
Starting point is 00:32:57 That was a picture of you. What? That was a picture of you. Uh-oh. Oh, God. This is supposed to happen. Okay. It cats out of the bag at this point because I need to tell you, Chris,
Starting point is 00:33:07 Ali has actually been listening to this call the entire time. Oh, my. Yeah. It was like one minute, dude. Yeah, I know. She was supposed to wait a little bit longer before she jumped in, but I guess the universe told her to go for it. Listen, Ali, can I just talk to you straight here?
Starting point is 00:33:22 My uncle is staying on my couch right now. He's going through a divorce. So I panicked, and I asked him to fill in for me when you wanted to FaceTime. So I asked him to get on the call and pretend to be me, and my uncle, he was happy to do it. Right. But, like, yeah, I have red hair, freckles. I am a ginger-like kiss by fire. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:43 That doesn't mean you're ugly, bro. No, no, it just doesn't mask a picture. Oh, okay. No, not at all. Okay. So you lied? You lied to me? When I didn't necessarily lie to you, you just put so much pressure on it.
Starting point is 00:33:57 You wanted a guy that looked like that, so I figured I'd step out of the way and let my uncle talk to you. Okay. So how old is he? She's in his 40s. Okay. It's time to even like them, right? Yeah. So, I mean, why wouldn't you want a divorce guy sleeping on his?
Starting point is 00:34:15 nephew's couch. It's true. Brooke, leave that out of this. Oh, sorry. I have no idea how she got confused by it. I have six pictures up there and he's in two of them. It's the first two. And when I saw the first picture and I saw, I'm like, there he is.
Starting point is 00:34:29 Okay. People see what they're looking for. And you obviously were looking for him. All right. So however it happened, it happened. And one thing led to another and I did talk to the guy that was in my photo. It was just your uncle. So what's his deal?
Starting point is 00:34:48 What do you mean? What's his deal? You're not upset? Is he available? You don't feel. Wait, you don't feel lied to or deceived or anything? I feel lied to by Chris, but if his uncle was the man that I'm looking for, then yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:00 Sometimes the universe has a roundabout way of getting to the destination that you want to be at. So Chris, I think what Ali is trying to ask you is what exactly is the sitch with your uncle right now? Is he ready to swing vines to the next lady? I... Swing vines, bro. That's not how you say it. Well, how do you say it? Get closure from his last relationship.
Starting point is 00:35:23 Is he ready to date again? What Brooke said. My uncle, he hasn't shaved in about a week. Oh. If you want to have it, hold on a second. Uncle Phil! Talk about your family. No, no.
Starting point is 00:35:38 Don't. Don't bring your uncle on to this call. I'll tell you this. They sound exactly the same. Oh. That's all that related. Interesting. I'll tell you this, Ellie.
Starting point is 00:35:48 After you guys got off to FaceTime, he was ready to go. He said, I would definitely get with that. Oh. I would get with that. It's so romantic. Is that what the line you were hoping for, Ellie? You know, I was hoping the universe would give me something similar to that, yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:06 I would get with that forever. I mean, you're that. He's how that it. Yeah. There you go. You're already speaking the same language. I can't believe everyone's on the same page. I mean, he's down for it, but he's going to need a few more months before he can actually legally go out with it.
Starting point is 00:36:23 But what is marriage these days, right? What? He could date while it's being processed. There's no wool against that. Oh, that's a little messy, though. I don't think they care about messy, Jose. This whole thing. So, I guess normally we'd offer to send Allie and Chris on a date, but it's a little set of a little set of,
Starting point is 00:36:42 on a date with a legally married man. Hey, come on, they're separated. On his way out of the marriage. They're separated, but he's sleeping on my couch. I'm serious. Okay. Well, you may wake up one morning, and Allie and your uncle will be on that couch. I hope the universe manifests something more comfortable than a couch.
Starting point is 00:37:02 I can't believe I'm asking this, but Allie, do you want to go out with Chris's uncle when the time is right and we'll pay for it? That's a weird ass. Can I get his name? What is your uncle's name? It's Uncle Phil. Oh. Like fresh prints. All right.
Starting point is 00:37:18 Great. And so Chris, as your uncle's proxy, will you say yes on his behalf? I do believe this is a legally binding agreement. Do you think he'd like to go out with Allie? Yeah, he would. Okay. Look at that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:31 Just a classy family. He's like a sleep on a couch right now. I love. A Rican Jeffrey in the morning. A few months ago, the universe brought Ali to Chris's uncle who was mid-divorce while sleeping on Chris's couch
Starting point is 00:37:48 on his nephew's couch. And now the universe has brought both Ali and Chris back to us for an update update. We're talking to Chris, not to the uncle? We have Ali and Chris, it says, on the line. So let's just ask Ali right away. Allie did a
Starting point is 00:38:03 date come out of this with Chris or his uncle or the uncle's divorce lawyer? Tell us what happened. Yeah, so Uncle Phil. Oh, yeah, that's right. I accidentally call him. Oh.
Starting point is 00:38:16 We did go on a date. Okay. Okay. And how was it? The date was really great. We dated for a couple of months. It was nice. It was really nice dating an older man, but we thought we were maybe at different points in our lives.
Starting point is 00:38:32 So we did end up breaking up for a little bit. Oh. Wait for a little bit. But we did end up getting back together. Okay. Oh. So now you're dating. We're actually engaged.
Starting point is 00:38:42 Whoa. Oh. Whoa. Whoa. Okay. Yeah. So, Chris. Why is Chris on the phone and not the uncle?
Starting point is 00:38:50 Yeah, Chris, how? Yeah, why are you on the phone? How are you feeling about this whole situation? Yeah, I don't know what the hell I'm doing here either, but I guess I'm excited for them. I'm going to guess it gets your uncle off your couch. Right? Yeah. Well, he moved out.
Starting point is 00:39:06 He moved out. He's back on his feet. And your uncle is really obviously into Allie. it sounds like. Yeah, he keeps telling me, you can't wait for the honeymoon. Oh, wow. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:18 Weird thing to tell you. Yeah. I can't wait for the speeches at this wedding, Allie, when they talk about how you two met. Yeah, well, you know, if they end up making it there. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Oh, stop. We'll make it there. Oh, wow. You know, this goes through, you know, we were almost dating at one point and flirting, and now I'm going to be. be your step-nephew?
Starting point is 00:39:42 Like, yeah, I guess so. I guess you have to call me Aunt Allie now. I guess my family is a little bit weird. They are weird. And that's what I love about you guys. Aw. I'm glad that this is worked out in a weird way, but. Yeah, happy wedding.
Starting point is 00:40:02 Congratulations, Allie. Tell Uncle Phil, what's up? Thank you so much. I'm really excited. Aw. Not long ago, discovering a goldfish cluster earns you bragging rights at the school cafeteria. Yeah. But now, thanks to a brand new trend, it's more lucrative than you ever imagined.
Starting point is 00:40:23 Whoa. And it could be making you thousands of dollars just sitting in your cupboard right now. Dang. Plus, a teacher in Missouri gets fired for all the right reasons. Why do you say it with a question mark? I don't know. Okay. I don't know why my boys are stuck like this.
Starting point is 00:40:40 We're going to find out what happened when we play you the audio and a brand new. Woo! TikTok ClickShop. Coming up right now. Do you guys hear Chipotle is bringing back margaritas to their menu? What? Yeah, margaritas and Chipotle? Yep. And this time, there's salt in the rim with...
Starting point is 00:40:57 Woo! TikTok ClickShack! Extra flavor on top with TikTok ClickShack, where we discussed the biggest TikTok videos from the past week. We're going to get right to it with your first TikTok ClickShok. So remember about a month ago, We did a story on those robot teachers that were going to be put into New York classrooms as helpers or assistants. The sexy ones. Yeah, with the cleavage.
Starting point is 00:41:19 Yeah. They were deemed too sexy, so they lost their jobs, and Brooke cheered that decision. Well, now another sexy teacher is losing her job, and Brooke is cheering again. Yeah, get her. Is it a robot again? It's not a robot this time. It's 42-year-old Sheena Sittner. Dude, that's bad.
Starting point is 00:41:39 She was teaching in a little. her Missouri elementary school classroom when she was told she's not allowed on school property anymore. Why? Why? Why? Because one of the parents found her only fans account. Oh. Sheena was a little surprised at her firing and did an interview with a local news crew. So here's what she said. If teachers were paid better, women wouldn't have to resort to online content creation. It's funny because I've had this account, this OnlyFans account, for two plus years. So whoever did find it did some deep dive digging because two years later and now it's being found out. Wow, that's an interesting debacle. And did they subscribe? Like maybe she's teaching
Starting point is 00:42:25 on there. They don't know. I will say a school district spokesman said he looked into the claims against Sheena personally. And he thinks the school shouldn't have acted. so quickly until he's thoroughly finished with his entire investigation. Yeah. Maybe she should upload some new videos and then we can decide. I mean, she should have her job. Wait, what is my stance? You know.
Starting point is 00:42:50 It's our stance. I don't know how to feel about that. I mean. Well, Sheena says she keeps her personal life completely separate from her professional one, so it shouldn't matter. And if she gets rehired after cooler heads prevail, she is looking forward to sitting down and explaining everything during one-on-one teacher parent meetings.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Oh. I thought you were going to do an only fan's class. That was a TikTok click shock. You're next. Woo! TikTok click shock!
Starting point is 00:43:15 It is a clip that's been going really viral lately. It's from a country music fan getting rejected by Ella Langley. What? Have you guys heard this? No. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:43:25 What do you mean rejected? If you haven't seen it, the user's name, it's a guy who goes by Tiki Bean 1. Oh, is he just like hitting on her? He's a college age frat type of guy who's usually
Starting point is 00:43:36 posting stuff about the University of Tennessee and their football team. That's his avenue. Okay, he's a bro. But in this video, that's by far the most popular, he spots Ella randomly through a parking garage window. Oh, God. In the wild.
Starting point is 00:43:52 Yeah, she's just standing there and he yells at her, hey Ella, how many likes do I need to get on this video to take you on a date? Oh, God. And Ella's response, she says, there's not enough likes in the world. Yeah. Great response. That's, that's perfect.
Starting point is 00:44:07 Yeah. So he laughed and he turns to the camera. He goes, oh, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Yeah, yeah. It works for Travis Kelsey. Yeah. So posted it and got a lot of people on his side who were saying Ella was super mean and dismissive. What?
Starting point is 00:44:22 And I thought that was a weird response to. I thought it was kind of like a cheeky. I watched the video. She's not playful. She's just really cold. She's like, not enough in the world turns away and like, it's kind of cold. But she responded to it. It's an annoying college guy.
Starting point is 00:44:35 Totally. While she's walking to her car. Totally. But she had to respond to all the backlash saying basically it was meant as dark humor and it didn't come across right due to her face that she was making. Girl, don't apologize. Anyway, Tiki is back and was not fully ready to give up because his second video is going viral. It doesn't mean ask again. Where he's pushing a shopping cart full to the brim of flowers.
Starting point is 00:45:00 And let's listen to what he says. Ella, you said there's no amount of likes in the world that can get me to take you on a date. I hope this amount of flowers is enough And if not Please let me come to a concert I'm an Ella fella forever I love you Okay
Starting point is 00:45:15 So he wants free tickets Yeah He guaranteed he didn't buy those flowers He's just like pushing him around And he pushes him right back He's one of the people that ditches the car And gets Yeah he can't even put him back
Starting point is 00:45:25 Well he is an Ella fella forever At least that's what he claims And as of last night There has not been any response from Ella herself Why would she want a day to college bro? Rejected again, but we'll keep you updated on if anything new develops. That was a TikTok click shock. And your final,
Starting point is 00:45:41 Woo! TikTok! Forget about buying a lottery ticket. Just grab a pack of goldfish crackers instead. That's what some influences are saying, because sellers on eBay right now are listing fused goldfish clusters for thousands of dollars and actually getting it. What?
Starting point is 00:46:00 This is like when people saw Jesus in toast or in a Dorito? Yes, but more magical. I'm going to show you a picture so that my co-host can see of one of the eBay listings. Four goldfish that accidentally baked together and they're all connected. Yeah. So they're all for $1,500 for a school of four stuck together. And somebody ended up paying for that for the full $1,500. How do you even ship it without them crumbling?
Starting point is 00:46:30 I know it might seem ridiculous, but it doesn't stop there because a TikToker by the name of Guida dot content has. has been following this trend and she has an update. Some listings have been priced as high as $25,000. I'm sorry, 25K for something I used to accidentally vacuum off the floor of my minivan. So if you find two goldfish like this, you may have just hit the jackpot. Oh my goodness. One person in the comments put in all caps, excuse me, you mean I've been eating my retirement investments this entire time?
Starting point is 00:47:02 Oh my gosh. I actually can imagine my kids going, oh, mom, look, cool, huh? And then just eating it. Yeah. People are going kind of nuts over this, and it's not just clusters hitting the markets either. Sellers are offering deformed goldfish for $500 a pop, including one listed as an ultra-rare, purple red cracker with factory error. Okay. That's a multicolored fish.
Starting point is 00:47:28 The multicolored one, and this one doesn't have a smile. And that makes it invaluable. Okay, I've been influenced to buy goldfish now. So are these the next Beanie babies, deformed snack foods that we put in our closet and save for our kids' college tuition? Yeah. Sounds good. Or is it just a scam where people are hot, glue
Starting point is 00:47:45 gunning crackers together for profit? Jeff, why can't it be both? Either way. The goldfish people at Pepperidge Farms aren't complaining. Their sales are way up. Those are your... Woo! TikTok click shop! Stories for the week. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. When?
Starting point is 00:48:04 Brow! Normally we talk about listeners coming back for revenge after losing to Brooke. But today it's the opposite. Ooh, I need to seek revenge. Brooke seeking redemption after taking one in the shorts, courtesy of today's player, Robert. Wow, Robert. Those are my favorite shorts, too. Absolutely destroyed him. And what I know about the last time they played, the score was three to two with Robert ahead.
Starting point is 00:48:32 And my notes say Brooke attempted to try and cheat by throwing water onto the phone system to try and disconnect him mid-game. Wow. Partially incorrect, you don't know it was water. Oh, who knows what alcoholic beverage it was. She wouldn't waste vodka. That's fair. Thankfully, good prevailed over evil that day, and Robert is back with a victory under his belt.
Starting point is 00:48:52 Wow. Robert, pleasure having you on. How you been, man? I've been good. We've been going well in life. I'm very happy right now. All right, Robert. How many burner phones did you have to use to try to get through this line?
Starting point is 00:49:05 Because I know I blocked your phone. Well, yeah, I don't want to answer that question. Okay. Brooke is now leaving the studio so we can get to the game. 30 seconds to answer as many questions as possible. If you don't know when you can say pass, but you have to beat her out right if you want to win. Are you ready?
Starting point is 00:49:21 I'm ready. Let's do it. Let's make it two in a row. Good luck. Your time starts now. Today's International Coffee Day. What country grows the most coffee in the world? Finland, Brazil, or China? Brazil.
Starting point is 00:49:33 Name the least used letter in the English language. Hugh. Arthur Curry is the true identity of what DC comic book character from the city of Atlantis? Aquaman? America's financial district is located in New York on what famous street? Wall Street. What restaurant chain claims, when you're here, your family? Allergarden.
Starting point is 00:49:54 In which decade of the 1800s did San Francisco experience its famous gold rush, 1840s or 1880s? I'll say the 40s. Oh, Robert. on fire today. Well done. Brooke is now done trying to sabotage the phone lines outside and is back in the studio. And today is October 1st, meaning start a spooky season officially is here. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:21 And I know Robert, you're a big fan because you have a 13 and a 5-year-old who both love to dress up. What are they thinking for costumes this year? So the youngest, we kind of lived it up to him. He's kind of saying he wants to do Avengers since the movie's coming out too. so I think we're going to do the Avengers are out. Yeah, superheroes are always popular. And so that means they're both going to be different types of Avengers? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:42 So I think the youngest is going to do Spider-Man and the oldest I'm not there. And then, of course, like, mom and dad are going to dress up as well. Bro, you should be the gauntlet and have each of your kids and wife be one of the gems that goes into the gauntlet. Oh, like the Infinity Stones. Yeah, that'd be fun to explain all night long. Yeah. So we haven't decided on our group costumes yet here. Brooke brought up the idea of serial killers.
Starting point is 00:51:07 As in the serial mascots with weapons on them. What do you think, Robert? Is that dumb or really dumb? I don't think we'd go back to the drawing board and keep thinking. Wow, Robert. You know? Well, Robert, you don't know the dark side of snack and crackle and pop, okay? If you would have said dumb, it would have been funny.
Starting point is 00:51:23 But he was like, no, that's seriously. Yeah, it's really terrible. Okay. I love your opinion, Robert, but now it is Brooke. It's Brooke's turn. Brooke, ready? Yep. Your time starts now.
Starting point is 00:51:32 Today is International Coffee Day. What country grows the most coffee in the world? Finland, Brazil, or China? Brazil. Name the least used letter in the English language. Uh, X. Arthur Curry is the true identity of what D.C. comic book character from the city of Atlantis. Mm, Aquaman.
Starting point is 00:51:51 America's financial district is located in New York on what famous street? Wall Street. What restaurant chain claims, when you're here, your family? Uh, Olive Garden. In which decade of the 1800s? San Francisco experience its famous gold rush 1840s or 1880s? 1880s. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:52:10 Got our answers in and it's time to go to the scoreboard to find out how you both did with our own Jose. No bugs. Balanos. Bring it back, Jake. Robert, you got five correct today. Tell me I didn't lose on that San Francisco question. Obviously the 49ers. Dang it.
Starting point is 00:52:31 If you say four, I'm going to be so upset right now. Brooke. Only four because of the 49ers No, I hate the 40 die
Starting point is 00:52:40 two dramatic two times in a row Robert comes on the show and takes down Brooke that's a good
Starting point is 00:52:52 performance though five in a row that was exciting it's rare from a listener let's go over the answers
Starting point is 00:52:57 for everybody it's international coffee day the country that grows the most coffee in the world would be
Starting point is 00:53:01 Brazil roughly a third of all coffee in the world comes from there least used
Starting point is 00:53:07 letter in the English language would be the letter Z. Arthur Curry is the true identity of the DC comic book character Aquaman. He's really not branded. You wouldn't have that Atlanta's. I don't think anybody gets it. America's financial district in New York is on Wall Street.
Starting point is 00:53:21 When you're here, your family is the slogan of Olive Garden and San Francisco experienced a famous California gold rush in the 1840s, which is yes why their team there is called the 49ers. So Robert, congrats. You beat Brooke. So you get a
Starting point is 00:53:37 $100 plus just for playing. We're giving you a pair of tickets to see Doja Cat perform with Lotto and Climate Pledge Arena on October 15th. Awesome. Thank you guys. Yeah, but what you don't know is you have to take me with you. Ha, ha, ha. Do I? Okay. As long as you can I dress up like some cereal color, we can go.
Starting point is 00:53:55 Yeah. We can't wait for that day. Make sure you call back soon. We're going to do Winbrooks Buck same time tomorrow. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
