Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey all you women's hoops fans, and folks who just don't know yet that they're women's hoops fans. We've got a big week over at Good Game with Sarah Spayne as we near the end of one of the most exciting women's college basketball seasons ever. The most parody we've seen in years, with games coming down to the wire and everyone wondering which team will be crowned national champions this weekend in Tampa. Listen to Good Game with Sarah Spayne on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Imagine you're scrolling through TikTok. You come across a video of a teenage girl, and then a photo of the person suspected of killing her. It was shocking. It was very shocking. Like that could have been my daughter. Like you never know. I'm Jen Swan.
Starting point is 00:00:43 I'm the host of a new podcast called My Friend Daisy. It's the story of how and why a group of teenagers turned to social media to help track down their friend's killer. Listen to My Friend Daisy on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In 2020, a group of young women found themselves in an AI-fuelled nightmare. Someone was posting photos. It was just me naked.
Starting point is 00:01:09 Well, not me, but me with someone else's body parts. This is Levittown, a new podcast from iHeart Podcasts, Bloomberg, and Kaleidoscope about the rise of deepfake pornography and the battle to stop it. Listen to Levittown on Bloomberg's Big Take podcast. Find it on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, I'm Laura, host of the podcast Courtside with Laura Corenti,
Starting point is 00:01:34 a masterclass case study of the business of women's sports. I'll be chatting with leaders like tennis icon, Alana Kloss. I don't do what I do only for women, I do it for everyone, And I want the whole market. And innovators like Jenny Nguyen. I would say 50% of the people that come visit the Sports Bra aren't sports fans. They come to be in community.
Starting point is 00:01:53 They come to be part of this culture. Quartzside with Laura Currenti is an iHeart women's sports production in partnership with Deep Blue Sports and Entertainment. Listen to Quartzside with Laura Currenti on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Elf Beauty, founding partner of iHeart Women's Sports. Are your money skills total trash? Well, trust me, you are not alone.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Personal finance ignorance is as American as apple pie, but you can improve. Think, Matt, if your emergency fund was invested, especially given the volatility we're experiencing right now. Ouchies. Investing, it is ultimately a necessity, but you gotta keep that emergency fund accessible. It needs to be cash parked in your savings.
Starting point is 00:02:36 It's time to learn, and How to Money is here to bring the knowledge. Listen to How to Money on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, it's a Sunday edition, of course, of date update podcast. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning We're all in PJs I gotta tell you I am freaking out a little bit right now because I was eating a salad out in the hallway Uh-huh not standing in the hallway eating it. I was at my desk, okay, but I bit off part of the plastic fork
Starting point is 00:03:00 Oh, no Well, I spit out what it was in my mouth, but I still now I'm like paranoid It's in my throat dude that happened to me the other day, but it wasn't in my mouth I actually like part of it. I heard it break I was missing one of the tines and I was looking I could never find it in my side broke a fork here today, too I'm not even kidding. Yeah, so these forks are cheap. Yeah We demand silver for right only so I'm just gonna go metal, but I like your idea, Nozann.
Starting point is 00:03:26 Yeah, great ass. Okay, all right, so today is always a little special feature, a little something different that we do on our full show, and we wanna bring it over here and see what you guys think. Yeah. Definitely relationship drama, if you've heard the say yes to the ex segment
Starting point is 00:03:40 that we've done before. That's where we just try and help someone get back together with their ex. And I'm just gonna tell you today, today celebrity impressions play a major role. Yes they do. And it brought me a lot of delight. Jose was really on point today.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Anytime there can be impressions, I'm a happy guy. So I think you're really gonna enjoy this, sit back. And I'll let you know how the fork turns out later. All right, it's Say Yes to the X, only on the Home with a Second Date update. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. If there's one thing that we know about seduction, it's guys who do character impressions get all the ladies.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Oh yeah! Am I right, Jose? It's true, you just can't tell everyone I'm social. You act like you get rejected a lot. That's why we were baffled, wondering how on earth does our listener, who does a flawless Shrek voice, get dumped by the love of his life over it. Wow.
Starting point is 00:04:33 It sounds like a catch! We won't stand for that, will we team? No! No, Jay! That's a rallying cry! Why, we're gonna grab our torch and pitchforks and peel back the layers of this onion Yeah, chase down his happily ever after in a brand new say yes to the X Tell them when we're gonna do it donkey. Wait, what time is it next? Don't get coming up?
Starting point is 00:05:03 Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Alexis, when you look back at your dating life, who would you say is the one that got away? Ooh, big question. And by got away, I mean he ditched you in the subway tunnels below London after you puked on his arsenal jersey. Yeah, I was going to say probably the one he had in the visa expired. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:24 So he's tough. A lot of those, huh? Legally, yeah. Because for a lot of people, there is that one person. I was gonna say probably the one who he had in the visa expired. Because for a lot of people there is that one person that one old flame from your past that just didn't work out back then For whatever reason but you've always thought maybe there's a chance that we've both matured enough where we could be great together now I love those rose-colored glasses. Let Let's go. Just need the chance. And today we're giving that opportunity to someone to find out with another addition of say yes to the X. Yes, we haven't done this in a while. I love this segment. One of our listeners reached out for help today.
Starting point is 00:05:57 His name is Art. So Art, welcome to the show. Hey, guys. What's up, guys? We're so excited to hear what made you write in. Well, me and my ex Lisa, we broke up about six months ago. Oh, pretty fresh. That is fresh. That's not too long.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Okay. You doing okay? I mean, it hasn't been great since then, if I'm being honest. Okay. Oh man. You know, we were together for like almost two years, so. Oh. Oh, okay know we we were together for like almost two years, so oh Okay, yeah, you know I haven't been there art, but I can understand what you're going through God Yeah, is this the Jeff I've never been dumped before a moment. I mean those are just facts, bro
Starting point is 00:06:40 They're facts there you can't be mad at truth so most people I mean I think everybody else can everybody else can. We have a lot of empathy for you. We've been in this place before. It's hard. It takes longer than six months. Yeah, that's why I think we're shocked that it's been six months because usually it's like six years and you're like, now I have clarity or something. Yeah. Well, tell us more about Lisa and your guys' relationship. Well, you know how long relationships are. Sometimes after a while you kind of get on each other's nerves. Oh yeah. Of course.
Starting point is 00:07:10 I mean, I think. Anybody. Yeah. After a year, it's like, can I stay on them or not? Year seems kind of short, but yeah. Well, I mean, that's when you really know, like if you're going to keep going. So. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:22 So when did that happen for you and Lisa? I mean, it was like kind of near the the end maybe it's in the last like two three months and you know I felt like I was really getting on her nerves near the end there for example like she got mad at me because like I couldn't spell the word definitely in a text definitely that's a tough one yeah I always rely on autocorrect for that but I mean she looks like a laid into me and then like when I got home She like was squeezing me quizzing you it was like a spelling bee what was she like an English teacher or something? No, I that's like the whole thing. I mean that couldn't have felt good
Starting point is 00:07:59 That would feel like your partner's like trying to make you feel stupid I feel like it's like she's already annoyed to everything he does in I think she's trying to prove to herself how dummy is I mean, you're not dumb art. I'm not saying that What I meant, but seriously if a girl gets it in her head, they'll be on edge like anybody So was it just the misspelled words that caused the tension or was there other stuff? I mean there was like other stuff like inside jokes and stuff we had like she used to like always laugh at my Shrek voice Oh you can do a Shrek voice? No I retired it, I don't do it anymore
Starting point is 00:08:36 Oh, just a bedroom thing between you guys, that's okay Bedroom? Get on the laundry! Whatever works! We don't judge. It's great. Cute is what you mean, bro. It's really cute. Did she change? Did she not enjoy your Shrek voice anymore?
Starting point is 00:08:58 No, she just like stopped laughing. Every time I did it. And then I just stopped doing it. So can I fast forward? Are we going we gonna call her try to get her back? Like what makes you think six months has passed and now she's ready. She misses Shrek. I mean that's It is usually about six months between every new Shrek film so that's about the amount of time it takes to reset But seriously like what makes you think you're ready? Oh, I'm just so bummed man I'm just like so bummed without her and you know
Starting point is 00:09:31 My mom keeps like harping on me and she's like aren't you gonna like at least try to fight for your relationship? Oh, I don't know. I mean she wasn't very kind to you at the end like obviously it sounds like she was snowballing Honestly, we are only hearing one side of the story. This is oh, that's true This is what art thinks broke them up there may be something totally different that his girlfriend Lisa would have said that's actually true I mean honestly she may have loved the Shrek and just used it as an excuse. She's like it's his donkey. I couldn't stand yeah Excuse Jeff I don't know about that. But there is always science. We don't know. I know it just sounds like all I'm saying is it sounds like she was not as nice as she could have been towards the end. Like just making fun of them for not being able to spell for God's sakes. Well now are you in a better place? Can you spell definitely? Yeah?
Starting point is 00:10:27 You put me on the spot She's like this is the defining moment whether or not Go write it down She wants to see that you've changed enough probably if you're wanted to take you back I mean the only thing that's changed is now I'm miserable Okay, but do you think someone else is to be like the reason for your happiness? Okay, but listen, maybe she's miserable too. Maybe she's sitting back there and regretting being so hard on you for all this stuff. Yes, two miserables do make a happy in the math world.
Starting point is 00:10:59 I think that's the math. I think so. Yeah, it's couples math. And we should find out what she's gonna say because as you know Art, you gave Lisa's number to our producer, he got her on the phone, and she just doesn't know that it's you
Starting point is 00:11:13 waiting on the other line. Oh my God, when was the last time you talked to her? Start at the dog park like maybe like four months ago and she kind of just ignored me. Oh. Okay. Maybe it's because I didn't like have a dog. maybe like four months ago and she kind of just ignored me. Oh. Okay. Maybe it's because I didn't like have a dog.
Starting point is 00:11:29 She thought I was like there just to see her. Yeah, that's different. Okay. Which I kind of was, but. Okay. Oh! Maybe she was fighting her own feelings because they were so strong.
Starting point is 00:11:39 But so she's there. She doesn't know who's on the other line. It's a mystery person to her, but I'm going to tell you some new information here Apparently she has been dating our producer found that out She's dating other people, buddy But I don't know again, we they're not you you know, yeah in his Shrek voice I'm sure is nowhere near as immaculate as yours whoever they are, but it doesn't matter
Starting point is 00:12:07 We're gonna see what happens Yeah, we're gonna see what happens when we connect you with your ex-girlfriend Lisa when we do say yes to the ex Coming up right after this. I don't want to do it if she's like dating another dude. No Yeah, it's like a multitude of dudes We Yeah, don't say it that way, Jeffrey! We're supposed to make him feel better, not worse. All right, we'll say something nice during the break, and then when we come back, we'll continue. Say yes to the ex.
Starting point is 00:12:34 I got your back, Art. Yeah, bro, we know this. Thank you. It's happening right after this. If you're just joining us, we're in the middle of say yes to the ex with our listener Art. Yes. Ooh, these are like, kind of, I wouldn't say tense, but there's something going on.
Starting point is 00:12:48 I know, I'm a little worried. Yeah. Maybe it is tense. Well, Art's been missing his ex-girlfriend Lisa after they split up about six months ago, hasn't fully gotten over it, and feels like he was a better, happier person when they were together. When she wasn't criticizing his spelling errors. They say some people make you better person right they compliment you yeah at least they think they're trying to make you better so he gave us Lisa's number and our producer has reached out to her she's agreed to be on the show with us
Starting point is 00:13:19 she's waiting on hold right now but she has no idea it's to talk to art no she just knows somebody is wanting to reach her and speak to her about something, doesn't know who yet. So it could be her, she thinks it's her favorite artist, Taylor Swift wants to talk to her and she's gonna end up talking to her ex. Maybe. I mean, it's kind of a high high, right?
Starting point is 00:13:38 Yeah, low low, yeah. I'm just worried about Art. Art, how are you feeling? Yeah. Well, I don't know kind of nervous and I just have one question for you guys Yeah, should I do this correct place for her you think or no? Considering she said she didn't like it probably not No, she didn't say she not like it you just stop laughing at it
Starting point is 00:14:04 It could be worth a shot like it might bring her back to that mental place in her life. She's like oh, yeah Can we just say maybe you can use it as a last resort because I know how reliable it is She need if we need a quick laugh keep that in your pocket brother cuz that's gonna crack the room up, okay? Done and done. Yeah Actually, I haven't heard him this excited about anything We finally have some upward momentum, so let's get Lisa on the phone here stay quiet until we call you on all right Okay, okay nice. Here. We go. Let's punch her up Hey, is this Lisa?
Starting point is 00:14:42 Hi, hey Lisa Lisa? Hi! Hey Lisa! Lisa, welcome to the show! Good morning! Obviously you know you're on Brooke and Jeffree in the morning and just want to thank you for being with us today. Yeah, absolutely! Oh my god, what did you think when our producer reached out to you?
Starting point is 00:15:00 I was a little thrown but I'm kind of excited! Yeah, you should be! That's the right emotion because I don't know if you're familiar with us, but we do a lot of dating segments on this show. And we've got somebody very, very special waiting on the other line, hoping to talk to you. Okay. Do you have any guesses about who that might be Okay, is it Luke? No, keep going Maybe guess again. No, it's not Luke. Luke would never do anything this brave. Um, oh my gosh is
Starting point is 00:15:41 Andrew? Okay, you're getting more people than I thought. We're getting farther away from the truth here. We'll give you a max of 30 more guesses. Let's keep going. No, just tell her. Okay, no, I'm just gonna tell you, it's a guy that you dated for a few years, actually. His name's Art. Oh, okay, I thought this was like a new dating thing.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Okay, that's a positive response, though. Yeah, it could be a newer dating thing. In a way, he is kind of new and improved since six months ago. Yeah, and more mature. Since you're already on the phone, maybe you should just talk to him because he is waiting on the other line. Uh, seriously? Very serious. Yeah. Are you there? Yeah, Haley says,
Starting point is 00:16:26 sorry, this is a little awkward. I just didn't know how to talk to you. Surprise. Okay. I mean, I guess like stalking at the dog park wasn't the best option a few months back, but let's try this. No, no, I mean, I was there.
Starting point is 00:16:41 I was just, I was meeting a friend there. Okay. What do you need? What's going on? Well, I mean, it's just like, you know, I mean, I guess it sounds like you're dating a lot of guys and probably got a sock like dating is a bummer. Right. Like, no, it's actually really great. I'm having a fantastic time. Yeah. I mean, everyone says that, but I'm sure like on the inside, you're kind of sad and maybe
Starting point is 00:17:08 you like miss the stability of being in a relationship. Is that something your mom told you to tell me? No. Right for the jugular. No, I mean, look, I just, I want to let you know that like I had a lot of growth since we broke up and it's like I know that like there was some things that I did that annoyed you. But like I've really worked on that.
Starting point is 00:17:32 And like I even like took a class online on how to be less annoying. Okay, this 100% smells of your mom. She was always in her business. Did she sign you up for the class? Yikes. No I signed myself a dude my mom was like the rock in our relationship like yeah he gives me good advice she gave you great advice you know between the three of us she gave us both a lot of great advice. That's part of the problem I'm not in a relationship nor do I want to be in a relationship with your mom Are you saying that if he's willing to ditch his mom
Starting point is 00:18:20 Yeah, I mean I guess I just feel like we were probably better together than we were apart We were really good team. Okay, I mean if his mom stepped back from the relationship I mean, maybe maybe that was actually the problem which isn't necessarily art's fault I mean that's a part of his fault because he's allowing his mom to be in the relationship There's just so many other issues that I I mean, I don't have time to get into it on a radio show right now Okay, I don't know the art needs to hear them all again. Yeah, this might be the time to bust out the Shrek My god, he told you that yeah You know I didn't mind it until he farted at a work event that I had and then in his Shrek voice said better out than in I always
Starting point is 00:19:03 track though. I mean that's the best impression. That is very printed. Out of work event? That's like really good track impression. That is not, that's not gonna prove your maturity my man. Humor is the thing that brings everybody together. So look, Lisa, the name of this segment is called Say Yes to the Ex.
Starting point is 00:19:20 And now that you've had a couple minutes to get reacquainted with your ex, we're just wondering would you be willing to take a chance a leap of faith and at least meet up with art one more time Maybe grab some coffee and hear him out Because I'm sure it's fun to be single and dating and hooking up with all these random hot guys having no responsibilities No responsibilities and just party 24-7. Honestly, you could have just stopped talking. But Art is the steady old wooden ship in the stormy seas of love. Nobody wants to board that ship. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Okay, you know what? Forget it. Art, I'm gonna step away and let you take over. Say whatever you need to say to Lisa. I mean, you remember, like, when we were kind of getting down with it, and I would pull out the, all right, you're getting on the right way for the smacked bottom Lisa did that sway you I have to say when you lay it all out there. I'm gonna choose the other guys Oh, okay. Guys plural.
Starting point is 00:20:24 I know, did you have to have a nest? Classic. Yeah, you guys, I'm sorry, Art, I wish you the best. We had our time, but it's done. I mean, you think if it doesn't work out between you and those other guys, I could reach out back
Starting point is 00:20:40 to you in like six months? No. Absolutely not. Oh. All right, man, I'm sorry. It's a say no to the ex on this round. But remember, this is your jumping off point. Yeah, I guess.
Starting point is 00:20:55 Oh. Aw. I hate to hear you dejected like this. All right, look, we've never done this before, but we all really like you, and I'm gonna give you one free say yes to the X segment if you get into another relationship and she breaks up with you you get a freebie on the house. All of our segments are free. Well nobody pays
Starting point is 00:21:16 anything to be on this show. He doesn't know that Brooke. Okay we're all rooting for you. She's rooting for me to get together with someone and then she breaks up with me and I have to get her On the radio. We're desperate for content art. Yes, that's our hope She wants to hear that Shrek accent IRL No, you stop it. Don't care. I like what I'm hearing. You got me tricked again. Okay, the off is off the table. Now art. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
