We never sit down, and we never really talk about what happened on our second date. Yeah, because we don't like each other that much. No, it's because we don't have a lot of time on the radio, Jeff.
Starting point is 00:00:40 See, this is why you're never invited into the podcast exclusives. Oh, okay. No, I'm sorry. I like you. It's because of radio. You can't fit it in. Today's second date that we aired, the one Motel 7, more controversy than we've gotten in months over this one.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Oh, yeah. I want to say, Jeffrey, I think mostly it's your fault. Oh, yeah. What did I do? You just sided with this crazy dude. I think that there's something to be said for, like, persistence and trying and not giving up. Okay, so let's... I think that's fair.
Starting point is 00:01:11 I don't necessarily take his side, but I like to play devil's advocate. Okay, and to recap, we do need to recap real quick. Just in case there's anyone on our podcast right now that hasn't heard today's second date. Remember, Alex called in because he went out with a woman who was in town for work, right? And then she invited him up to her hotel room and then he stayed for four hours. Right, because of the architecture.
Starting point is 00:01:33 He's into the architecture and the decorations in the hotel. So he's dead. She kind of tried to kick him out. Kind of? She wasn't even there when he was there. She definitely tried to kick him out, made up a friend and then we get her on the phone and we find out, I mean, you just have to listen. This is kind of a long clip, but it's worth it.
Starting point is 00:01:50 I mean, he's not good at picking up the hints, but overall he sounds like a nice guy. Yeah, I thought that until the next day when I checked out of the hotel. What? What?
Starting point is 00:02:03 Oh, yeah. So apparently he ordered a movie to the room while I was gone. And I was like, well, I didn't watch anything. You know, I saw the bill and they said, well, it was rented at this time to your room. And I looked at it and
Starting point is 00:02:19 it was, I don't even know how to describe this movie other than it's titled Flutter Island. Flutter Island? Hey, I have to say something here now. Is that like a Planet Earth, like, butterfly special thing? No, no, no. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Tiffany, that was, that's Alex. He's been on the other line listening this whole time wanting to talk to you. But what was the name of the movie? Flutter Island. Oh. Oh. Yeah. Like Shutter Island, but more fun.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Oh, that is so uncomfortable. That is not a documentary. Why would you do that, Alex? First of all, I went down and I paid the guy with cash, and I told him to take it off the bill. So that should have never happened. Oh. Oh Oh my God. Oh my God is right.
Starting point is 00:03:08 Slaughter Island just got nominated for 10 Oscars this year. It's getting way more attention thanks to us now. I think that front desk man needs to be fired. Oh my God. He was asked to do a job and he did not do it properly. And to ruin this guy's life is his fault. See, and that's the thing. So many people
Starting point is 00:03:25 texted us. We have a text forward to 78592 and we got flooded with texts. And Jose, you found someone that was totally on this guy's side. Yeah, well, somebody says, I don't blame this guy. What else is he supposed to do in a hotel room for four hours? Leave. Leave, that's a good one.
Starting point is 00:03:42 But the next text comes in and goes, ew, gross. This is the huge difference between men and women. As a female, I would have spent the time binging Love Island, ordering all the room service I could get on someone else's bill. He did the opposite. He ordered something else on someone else's bill. And Alexis, what are you seeing? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Okay, one does say, No matter how dumb this man is, I have to admit the excuse to see the room decor has to be the smoothest way to get an invite up. Like, I love hotel. I know. Have you two ever been invited up to a hotel room? Define invited.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Just copying someone else's key card? Is that an invitation? Oh, wow. But impressive. Impressive if you can do that. It goes back to what I said. Persistence. There's something to be said for it. And, oh, someone else said
Starting point is 00:04:30 if you have to pay someone in cash and make them promise not to say anything, that's a sign you're doing something you should not be doing. Which I also feel like Jeff might have done a few times in his life. You guys are gonna die. You will not believe who DM'd us. What? Who DM'd us?
Starting point is 00:04:45 Are you ready? I'm not. Is it the director of Slutter Island? No. No, it's even better. What? They DM'd the Brooke and Jeffrey Instagram, which you can follow us at Brooke and Jeffrey. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:54 And it says, I'm the dude working the front desk at that hotel. No way. You should be fired. He says, I can't believe this guy called into your show. He came down to the front desk and tried to bribe me not to tell his girlfriend he was watching an adult movie. Yeah, that's what he told us. You took the bribe, bro. Well, listen, though.
Starting point is 00:05:14 He says, I'm not about to get in the middle of some dude's relationship drama. But before I could say anything, this guy literally reached into his pocket and pulled out a handful of change. Oh, come on. He put it up on the counter and said, that should cover it. Oh, no. Winked and walked off. So he didn't accept the bribe.
Starting point is 00:05:38 As if 84 cents would buy my silence. Oh, it was 84 cents? He never told us how much money he gave. Yeah, I thought it was like, here's 50 bucks. If you keep it between you and me, shake hands. This guy, I mean, he claims to be the front desk worker, said, I should have added an additional title to the bill, the audacity.
Starting point is 00:05:57 I think he suffered plenty, though, just being exposed on the radio like this. Oh, yeah. I don't think he's going to be doing that anytime soon. I was just going to ask, if you think he learned his lesson. Because I don't know. He's waiting for Slaughter Island 2 to come out. Yes.
Starting point is 00:06:09 I think we all are. Of course. Hey, thanks for being here for this podcast exclusive. It's a little behind the scenes of what we get to see when you guys write us in. And we love it. We do. Yeah. Can we leave now?
Starting point is 00:06:19 Yeah, you can leave, Jeffrey. You can go. You can go. And hey, don't forget to follow the podcast, too. Just, you know, like it and do the thing. Thanks for listening. Yeah, it's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Jon Stewart is back in the host chair at The Daily Show,
