Yes, we do. Just an extra long dose of your second date update. It's Burger Jeffrey in the morning. And just a heads up, Monday starts our spooky week. We are so into Halloween on this show.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Yes. And next week, we definitely have some Halloween-themed second dates. We've got a Halloween issue on our awkward Tuesday phone call. Oh, Titter dates, bad dating stories. Oh, yeah, that too. That too. So definitely don't go anywhere. It's going to get you in the mood and the spirit.
Starting point is 00:03:14 And I love it. What do you see on the text board before we start these classics? Oh, okay. Amanda said, I gave up on commenting in hopes of Alexis reading my comment. But either way, I still love you guys. And Jose, your Olaf always puts a smile on my face. Wait, my only fans? Put the smile on her face?
Starting point is 00:03:30 Your laugh. Oh, I thought she said my O-F. No, no, I heard O-F. Jose, your laugh always. Oh, okay, I was going to say, hit me up. Kip.com slash Larius-Oz. Wait, you have an only fan? Yeah, you got to join the stream, find out.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Oh, wow, okay. Now I don't know if I want to. Amanda, this is why I just read your comment. Yeah, there it is. Okay. Hey, let's get these classics started for you right now. When it comes to love, sometimes the question is,
Starting point is 00:03:57 how far are you willing to go? How much are you willing to publicly embarrass yourself in order to get that special someone to go out with you? Oh, wow. I mean, I hope far? That's the hope for it. We definitely push the limits of that during this call because the guy on the phone was told
Starting point is 00:04:17 if you want any chance of going out with me, then you'll have to do something pretty cringe. Uh-oh. And she wouldn't wait. She made him do it live on the air Oh my gosh I mean you kind of piled on Yeah sure
Starting point is 00:04:33 The question is was that enough You're going to hear What he had to do In your second date update It's coming up next Second Date update As guys We all have to deal with the same issue
Starting point is 00:04:48 What's that? Too many hot women wanting to date us And not enough time to date them all That must be hard It is. Sorry, ladies. We want to take you out, but it's not our fault. Time is the enemy here. I see. Brooke, you should feel lucky that you're not a man and you don't have to deal with stress like this. My simple little mind can only maybe comprehend. Well, it's good that you're at least knowledgeable enough to recognize that.
Starting point is 00:05:15 Some women listening may not have liked what you just said, bro. The thing is, that's what happened to one of our listeners, Connor recently. What's that? Connor, you feel me, bro? Too many eager ladies. Only one of you to go. around. Am I right? I feel you. Yes. Oh, Connor, please don't start it this way. I want to have people
Starting point is 00:05:33 like you, Connor. I like you already, Connor. But let's hear about your situation. You had more than one woman wanting to go out with you? Yeah, I did. I did. So initially, I met this girl, Hannah. We connected online. It was super cute. There was all those instant, like,
Starting point is 00:05:49 click and connects, you know? Nice. We started talking. We had a great time. And so I asked her out. But then she went, like, radio silent. It was gone. Wait, wait, wait. Did she say yes to a date and then radio silent?
Starting point is 00:06:02 No, no, no, after you asked? Like, right after I asked, was gone. Oh, that's bad. She had bought then. She was hoping for a credit card. Yeah. But she does come back, so don't count her out yet. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Okay, we're going to circle back to Hannah in a minute. Okay. So, you know, I gave her a couple of days, didn't hear anything from her. So then I was like, well, all right, it's time to move on. Right. Asked out the second girl. Her name's Amy. me, and, you know, I was, like, less excited about her, but she was fun, and I was like,
Starting point is 00:06:30 I'm not going to hear anything from Anna, or Hannah. She can't even remember her name, so it makes sense. She's a distant memory now. She's sluffing on you. She doesn't deserve the age. Yeah. She's Anna right now. Okay, so then you asked Amy out?
Starting point is 00:06:43 Yeah, and so she said yes. And then, of course, the second she said yes, Anna comes back. Oh, it's always like that. That's life. She's like, I'm so sorry. I didn't have any sickness. I'd love to go out with you. What are you doing Friday night?
Starting point is 00:06:59 And I was like, well, in my head, I didn't tell her this, but I'm like, well, I'm going out with Amy for a night. Yeah. Oh, no. Yeah. So I ended up making, like, a pros and cons list to see which one of my chagrault with Friday night. Oh. So you're going to dump one.
Starting point is 00:07:13 That's good. I thought we were going to maybe try to balance the two in one night. So I think already you're making good choices. We have had other guys trying to do this going back to back between tables. This is what Jeff was trying to say. Us guys, we're good. dude. So you made a pros and cons list for each one? Prozen cons list for each one. Yeah, you can't make a pros and conslist for one. You got to do
Starting point is 00:07:32 the whole. Yeah, yeah. Make it fair. So who got the most pros? So Hannah did. Okay. Okay. Hannah won. Oh, the original. What is duh, like just even the way you've been talking about it, right? I feel like the list had one thing on it. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So did you end up actually meeting up with Hannah finally? So we ended up going bowling and we had a good time. We would cheer each other on and we made up like little choky cheers for each other as we went. Okay, so super flirty. Yeah, and
Starting point is 00:08:02 when we, one of us would make a good shot, we'd like dab bowling balls. Oh, wow. Yeah. Okay. That's funny though, because it's corny to us, but as long as you two are having fun, that's all that matters. Yeah, same wavelength. The beers, I'm sure helps. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Don't get me wrong, it was corny to us, too. We're not immune to the fact that it was very, very corny. Yeah, all right, all right. So you're having a great time. Exactly. So, but somewhere in the night, her mood changed all of a sudden. You know, I was like, what's wrong?
Starting point is 00:08:35 And then she's like, nothing. I just, I think they clean these shoes wrong or something because my feet are all itchy all of a sudden. Ew. Itchy. I would go with they didn't clean them if that was the case. I hope not. I feel like mine were clean. So I'm hoping they cleaned them, but I don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:49 She was really weird about it. Or it couldn't have been like a line because sometimes. times women are like, oh, I need to get out of this itchy sweater. Come run my feet. Yeah. Is that not? In the middle of a folly now? Yeah, maybe not.
Starting point is 00:09:02 You can't think of it, like, what else could have changed her mood? Like, did you do something, say something? I don't think so. Okay. I was throwing out suggestions. I was like, look at you some new seers. Maybe they did clean them wrong. And she's like, no, no, I just got to go.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Oh. So she, you know, started packing up to leave. But I stuck around because we'd only been going about 40 minutes at that point. And I paid for a full hour. I thought that in my head You didn't walk her out and leave with her? No, like Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:09:29 I asked her one time, I was like, she was like, no, but like if you want to, that's cool, but like, no. That means yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. A girl says if you want to, maybe. You walk her outside, at least wait for the Uber or walk her to her car. Yeah, make sure she's safe.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Yeah, I mean, she was, I think she's safe. You think. It's not even about the safety thing. It's just about like, that's how you end and nutty. I'm sure she's safe. I'm sure she's safe on that. Yeah. It's just courteous.
Starting point is 00:09:53 me, dude, I'm a Jew. I understand trying to get the full value for the hour that you paid for, but even I know you got to walk out with her. Did you text her anything? I did. You know, I texted her a little later to see if she got home safe and I haven't heard anything back from her. And like, maybe I really messed up by not going outside. Okay. Well, that definitely went on to your cons list that she made for you. That's very true, Jim. We should ask what else is on it. When we come back, we'll call Hannah and try and get you a second date update right after this, okay? All right, guys. Thanks.
Starting point is 00:10:22 All right, hold on. Second Date Update. Quick recap of the events of Connor's date night with Hannah. Okay. There was bowling, laughter, inside jokes. That's fun. Hannah's itchy feet. Shoe problem, question mark.
Starting point is 00:10:40 She leaves. Connor stays to get his money's worth. No communication since. Connor, did I miss anything from that lightning fast recap? Yeah, no. I think you got it all. All right. Feeling good.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Now, have you heard from Mamie, the other girl, I'm just wondering if you have a backup if this doesn't work out? No. Okay. We probably shouldn't mention to Hannah that we do have a backup girl in case she says no. No, no, no. I wasn't going to say anything. I just didn't know how much pressure we had on ourselves for making this successful with Hannah.
Starting point is 00:11:12 Yeah. And I'm sure there's like seven or eight backups in reality that Connor isn't telling us about. Yeah, we're all very wanted. He's a man in demand. I see. Yeah. But none of that will come. up when we call Hannah right now. You're ready to do this, man?
Starting point is 00:11:24 We'll just talk about her possible foot fungus issue from the, you know, shoes. We should ask to make sure she's okay. Okay. Conner, you ready? I'm ready, thank you. All right, us too. Here we go. Good luck to everyone. Hello? Hey, is this Hannah? This is she. This is this.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Hey, my name is Jeff. I'm a radio host on a show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Hey, Hannah, we're all here. Hey, good morning. I know you got, yeah, what's going on? Is this a, are you guys pranking me or something? Isn't it weird so many people ask that? Yeah. Yeah, we are. Let's continue the brain. Hurry, Jose, make the joke.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Okay, so here's the scenario. No, we're doing it. Wait, am I really on the radio? No, you are. You are. We're just messing with you. This is so fun. Okay. It's already fun. I'm glad you have this positive energy because we do want to ask you about, I guess, a little bit of an unfortunate date that we heard you went on recently with a guy named Connor.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Oh, God. Yeah. Oh, really? It's too bad that your mood changed as soon as we brought up Connor in the date. You were really into it when you thought this was a prank. Like when people would rather get pranks called than hear from them. I know. We did hear a little bit about what happened that night, though, from Connor.
Starting point is 00:12:52 What did he tell you? Well, he told us a lot. I just wanted to say, first of all, we're really sorry. That's disgusting that your feet were really itchy from the shoes and you had to leave. I hope you told management about it because everyone here agrees that's a gross thing to have to deal with on a date night. Yeah, I wonder. Was that an excuse or is that real? Yeah, I didn't say anything to management because there was nothing wrong with my feet.
Starting point is 00:13:16 You lie? Oh, men are so shocked. No, women don't lie, well? What? That's a weird excuse. That is a strange lie to come up with, honestly, Hannah. I thought it was creative for the moment because I didn't have anything planned. Like, I didn't tell any of my girlfriends to call me in the middle of it to say there's an emergency or anything like that.
Starting point is 00:13:37 So I really had to kind of think quick on my feet. Oh, look at that feet again. It's sad. It was so believable, though. Yeah. Okay. So there was something else that happened then? Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:13:50 This is really weird. I mean, basically we're bowling. We're having a really fun time. And then he got up to bowl. And a piece of paper falls out of his pocket. He doesn't notice. I pick it up. And it's some list.
Starting point is 00:14:06 It's like a pros and cons list. Oh, he brought it on the date. Oh, my God. What? He actually wrote it down. Like, I would feel like you do it in your notes app or something. Wait a second. How do you guys know about those?
Starting point is 00:14:22 list like I mean we don't honestly know a whole lot about it we heard of it we heard that there is a pros and cons list that was made but yeah about me well you know daddy's hard and he had decision to make on who he
Starting point is 00:14:38 wanted to spend his time with and you won you have a lot of pros you know he's like a methodical person like methodical people do that type of thing you know can we ask why you were offended by it con oh we're concentrating on the cons No one wants to read your own cons.
Starting point is 00:14:53 I know. And it's like... Even if you know what it is. Yeah. And it's like you can have 10 compliments and one negative and you're going to remember the negative. Please tell me the con was like way too pretty, way too stupid. Yeah, what types of stuff did he write? The cons were like forced smile and not as attractive as the other girl I'm talking to.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Oh. Oh, he spelled it out. Oh, no, no, no, I got a... I was super offended. I got to jump in. I'm so sorry. No, no, no, no, no. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:15:27 Okay. Here's a con. It's right, Jose. Yeah, Hannah, you know that that's Connor on the other line. He's been listening to this. Oh, yeah. It's just haunting him really badly right now. Connor, bro.
Starting point is 00:15:41 Connor, did you not notice that a list was missing from your pocket when it fell out? I didn't. I didn't even know it was in my pocket. I honestly, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I were embarrassed because I didn't mean for you to see that. Yeah, obviously.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Yeah, on. But you shouldn't have had it in the first place. Like, what? Ouch. Weird. Hang on. But here's the thing. That was one about you.
Starting point is 00:16:05 What? What? No, no, no. So I had started talking, I had started talking to this other girl because it took so long for you to get back to me. You remember how there was like that long, like, that long, like, gap between when I asked you out and you finally said. I was traveling. I told, I think I told you that. I know that now.
Starting point is 00:16:20 But I thought you would just ghosted me at the end. So, like, I made this list to decide which one of the two of you go out with. And you actually, you won. That was, that's the, that's the, that's the contest for her. Oh. That list was about the other girl. Not about Hannah? Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:35 You're the cute one, not her. Hannah, he did tell us about the other girl. Her name was Amy. He told us all about her. He's not. Don't get out names. No, I'm just saying. Don't do.
Starting point is 00:16:44 He's not making it up. He's being honest. That is true. He mentioned that there was, there was another woman, and he was bummed out that he had move on from you. Yeah, like, you have a super normal smile and you're way more attractive. Super normal smile. I hope Amy isn't listening.
Starting point is 00:16:59 Okay, then I'll tell you what. If you want me to go on a day with you, you have to read me the pros and cons list you made about me. Connor, if you're really into her, you might have to do this, bud. This is intense. I like it. And be honest, don't make up a bunch of nice things on the spot here. Make up a bunch of nice things on the spot.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Connor, what are you doing? No, right. Let me find it. It's all my desk. somewhere. Why are people always asking questions that they don't really want the answer to? It's like, yeah. I'm serious. Well, she won in the competition between the
Starting point is 00:17:28 two of them. Theoretical, these are nice. I want to know for sure that that list that I read wasn't the list about me. Okay. Okay. This is the proof that that one was about Amy and this one's about you. Okay. So
Starting point is 00:17:44 the first one that you could possibly have emotional baggage, you know, because she told me you had been like engaged before and uh okay that was in the cons i'm guessing like stepping away from engagement can weigh on people that's all i'm saying it's that's not like a like a excuse me on to the next connor don't explain it anymore oh my god let's go on to a different one okay okay the next one was that you might you were maybe too into reading um because you know because you're the thing like you're actually too literate he only like semi-literate like like i said i was just worried
Starting point is 00:18:18 that you were going to be like too introverted you know like Sometimes when people read a lot, they don't, um... Oh, okay. They're not very social. They don't have fun. It's not that you don't want her to read it all. It's just... Yeah, of course.
Starting point is 00:18:29 I love people who are literated. Okay. Okay. Connor, we only have time for one more from your list, so pick a good one. I can't believe there's so many. They have to cut him off. Okay, my last comment on the list was that he didn't come from a wealthy family. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:18:48 Hey, I didn't come from a wealthy family either. and it's also a con on my list. I wish. I'd always dreamed about like marrying and somebody's family and spending like summers and somebody's like Lakehouse. Yeah. You and your love. That sounds kind of nice. It's not like a deal breaker.
Starting point is 00:19:03 It's just a thing that was on my list. And despite all of those cons against you, Hannah, he still chose to go out with you over the other girl. I like that he actually doesn't know her family, but he's just assuming that she's poor. We had talked about how we talked about how we grew up. I do. Can I just say something please, Connor? Hold on. First off, it doesn't seem like you come from a wealthy family that you
Starting point is 00:19:28 have a lake house. He doesn't. That's why he needs your family. How is he going to get the upgrade? And then the other thing, we don't have a lake house. We have a beach house in Maine. Whoa. Wow, actually. That sounds like old money. Who wants to go swimming in Maine, though? Yeah, I know. It's
Starting point is 00:19:46 Miami. Okay, well. It was my grandfather's and then... Yeah, Brooke was right. This is like freaking Apple Orchard money or something. Tiny shack in Maine on the beach nearby. But look, we're running out of time. Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 00:20:00 We're running out of time here. We got to ask you, Hannah. And before we even ask, like, clearly that list shouldn't make that big of a deal because he chose you, despite all of these things. And he never thought you were going to see that list. I mean, he's supposed to read this. He would love... He sounds pretty earnest.
Starting point is 00:20:14 Would love to go out with you. one more time improve himself and we'll pay for that day. Really would. I mean, Connor's super, he's very nice and very sweet, but I have two words and that's hell no. Really? Oh, man. Okay. Do you have any friends from a wealthy
Starting point is 00:20:30 family that maybe you can make a look at them? It may be cousins. Yeah. It'll take anybody. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Starting point is 00:21:09 In the new podcast, Hell in Heaven, two young Americans moved to the Costa Rican jungle to start over, but one will end up dead. The other tried for murder. Not once. People weren't wild. Not twice. Stunned. But three times. John and Anne Bender are rich and attractive and they're devoted to each other. They create a nature reserve and build a spectacular circular home, high on the top of a hill. But little by little, their dream starts to crumble. And our couple retreat from reality. They lose it. They actually lose it.
Starting point is 00:21:52 They sort of went nuts. Until one night, everything spins out of control. Listen to Hell in Heaven on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Oh, that might be my biggest regret of the entire year right there. Not getting him a date? Yeah, not getting her to say yes. Oh, dude, she was going to say no even before she asked for the cons list. I think she just wanted to hear him.
Starting point is 00:22:21 She said she was having fun. It's just, I'm thinking, how cool would it have been to do a second date update update with an adjusted pros in cons list? Oh, yeah. And we could have heard hers that she makes about him. Yeah. Actually, this is a great idea for her. a date night. Brooke, you and your husband should try
Starting point is 00:22:38 this. This is the stuff that comes up later in arguments, like two years down the road. Yeah, you remember when you said that my family wasn't rich? Do you remember when you said that? Yeah, that's romantic. No, it's not. It's not a good idea. It would be like, Michael,
Starting point is 00:22:52 how can neither of us have any pros down yet? I think you should try it. How come they're both cons? Right and up, do it on separate pieces of paper, scatter them all across the table. And then you take turns picking up one pro or one con and reading them out loud. Oh, your kids could read them out loud for you. Oh, that's cute.
Starting point is 00:23:06 Get the whole family involved. We're going to go with a hot note. Aw. Khan isn't willing to work with her family. Yeah. Oh, well, I think it could be romantic. You should give it a shot. You should also give us a shot if you need some help.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Getting a hold of that person who isn't calling you back, we'll call them for you. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. In the dating world, we tend to put a lot of importance on the first kiss. Yeah. Well, we do, actually. Tells you a lot. kind of a big deal. It could tell you everything you need to know about your chemistry together
Starting point is 00:23:40 where things might be headed between you two. Confirm, yes, she likes me. She's touching my lips. This is pretty good hint. Things are going well. It could be a great thing. But one of our listeners was a little surprised, to say the least, by what his date said to him
Starting point is 00:23:56 right after they locked lips at the end of the night. And spoiler, it wasn't, wow, that was so amazing. I can't wait to see you again so that we could do that more. Oh, shocking. It probably wouldn't be on our show.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Yeah, it's used to what people say afterwards. Her reaction was a little different. Oh, boy. And even though it's kind of embarrassing, he's going to share exactly what she told him in your second date update. That's next. Second date update. We report on these all the time on our show.
Starting point is 00:24:28 What's that? But I don't think anyone in this room has ever actually been to one, or at least not allowed inside due to the restraining orders. But I'm talking about pop-up. restaurants and bars. They have like a cool, unique theme. Alexis and I were just talking about one this morning. Cool.
Starting point is 00:24:43 Yeah. Neither of us have been, like you said. It looked awesome. Yeah, you didn't invite me for some reason to this thing you want to do. We wanted to have fun, Jeff. Yeah, it's like a cute thing. You guys are kind of ruin it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:56 Well, Jose and I are going to do something else then without you. But one of our listeners says he went to a pop-up thing for a date. So let's talk to him about it. Nick, first of all, welcome to the show and kudos on having no active restraining orders. Good for you. All right. Thanks for having, man. Yeah. You're welcome. Was it a pop-up restaurant or bar? I would classify
Starting point is 00:25:14 more as a restaurant because we would set down. We had some food, but we had like really cool drinks. Oh, yeah. I mean, because they're all like so Instagram friendly. Like, you know, they want you to take cool pictures and share them. Maybe we should just like skip the date all together and just talk about the bar only
Starting point is 00:25:30 for the next six minutes. I mean, I am interested in what the drinks look like. Yeah, what theme were. Sure. But can we ask? Like, what's this woman that you took there? What's her name? Yeah, yeah, sure. So, her name's Elizabeth.
Starting point is 00:25:42 Okay, enough about Elizabeth. Now, let's get back to the good stuff. No, I want to know, was Elizabeth as excited as we were about this pop-up thing? Yeah, no, we had a blast, actually. I would highly recommend anyone go into the one we went to. Okay, what did you go to? Yeah, which one was it? So, this one was, like, toy themed, and it was, like, different toys from different generations.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Wow, that's kind of cool. It's like your childhood. but you're kind of buzzed, you know? Do you play with the toys? Are they just, like, decoration? Well, I mean, they had some elements of playing. A lot of it was decorations. The menu was all, like, toys themed as well.
Starting point is 00:26:18 So they had, like, one of the fun things we got were martinis. They were called Etchisketch martinis, which are shaken, not stirred. Oh. Cute. I love it. That's funny. Okay. He could challenge at their tables to certain toys.
Starting point is 00:26:31 So, like, there was a Rubik's cube on our table and on our table and on the, the next and so we found the table to see you could finish first oh my god i could never finish one i know i still can't do it can you do it jeff can you do the rubas cube i try to look cool so no okay i keep it all colored on purpose yeah how did the rubics cube gaming go for you and elizabeth oh we got destroyed it but together yeah there you go yeah we have a bonding experience I mean, I know we're talking a lot specifically about toys and stuff. Can you give us, like, the mood of the whole date? Like, how was the connection between you two?
Starting point is 00:27:14 Honestly, I thought it was great. We were having lots of fun, and we actually got to know each other really well. And I learned more about, like, her family because of, like, the toys that she played with, like, her sister and things like that. And so, you know, we got to actually get to a deeper level than usually think of on, like, the first date. Yeah. Was there anything, like, uncomfy? Or, I mean, maybe you got too deep? I mean, I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Nothing too much, though. Apparently, she, like, cut her sister's Barbara Delt's hair off once without telling her. Oh. Classic. Like, okay. And then glued the hair to herself and was like, I'm your Barbie now. I mean, that's every little sister ever, though. Right.
Starting point is 00:27:54 You know, that really is. Did that not happen with Elizabeth and her sister? Oh, no, no, I know. Okay. She's got her hair. No, no weird glued hair part. Yeah. Maybe she is a cool normal girl.
Starting point is 00:28:04 then. That sounds fun. Sounds like different than you and your sister. Yeah. This is why I did not want to tell you about my childhood. So how did it end between you two? Yeah, I mean, I think that also ended fairly well at first at least. We were like walking back to her car. We've been there for a few hours and it's like, you know, it feels natural.
Starting point is 00:28:24 I'm going to go in for the kiss. Oh, okay. Oh, good, bro. Yeah. I mean, you guys are vibing. Yeah, if you feel the feeling. And what happened? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:32 And she gives me back. Okay. It wasn't what the most romantic first kiss? Like when you used to, like, kiss dolls back in the day in practice. You see the iron? These guys did some weird stuff with dolls. I apologize for that. You never kissed a doll in your life?
Starting point is 00:28:46 No. Weird. No. You make the dolls kiss each other. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, that's not weird. Okay. My dolls did all sorts of fun stuff, but I didn't do it.
Starting point is 00:28:55 Oh, geez. All right then. Nick is regretting calling into the show at this point. It wouldn't be the first. I never kissed any doll growing up. myself okay Jose you and I are the weird ones um yeah so but you said the the kiss wasn't quite what you were hoping for yeah it wasn't like fireworks I guess um and then she was like actually I want to talk about something and uh she's like I want to be transparent I'm finally in this place where I
Starting point is 00:29:24 feel really good about myself and I want to start like kind of dating multiple people right now I want to like explore the dating world she said that after you kissed her Yeah, this is after we kiss. Oh, bro. That's not good. Immediately. I'd rather kiss a lot of other people. Yeah, but you got to think, like, maybe she could just finally tell how into her he was,
Starting point is 00:29:45 and she just wanted to be honest. Were you okay with that, or are you not okay with that? Well, I mean, I told her I was. I was like, yeah, no, me too. She's crushed inside. It's what I was going to say. Oh, my God. I have a date after this, right now, actually.
Starting point is 00:30:02 And we did text. We've been text, or we're texting for a while afterwards and talking about hanging out again. But then I guess I haven't heard from her for a while now. And I'm wondering if maybe she just, she did find someone else. She wants to date all the time. Okay. So this is more of like you want to find answers if she's even single still. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:22 Yeah. And definitely offer to redo the kiss over again better this next time. Can you rewind a kiss? Can you do that? I feel like that's what he should have done right there. Like, I promise you I could do better than this. That may have been the move that you missed. You're saying if there was more fireworks, she wouldn't have said that.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Maybe, but let's call her and see what she has to say. We're going to come back. We'll ring Elizabeth for you. I can't believe I said ring Elizabeth. God, who's old? Anyway. Right, you old British grandma. We're going to do it with your second date update.
Starting point is 00:30:51 Next. Second date update. Playing with Tonka trucks while drinking Etch-Sketch-Martinis and challenging the people next to you to a drunk, Rubik's Cube Off. It's not a play date with Brooke's children. That was a real date that one of our listeners, Nick,
Starting point is 00:31:11 went on because he took a woman named Elizabeth to a pop-up restaurant bar that had an old school toy theme to it. And it actually went pretty well from what we heard until the very end when they had a short kiss and then immediately afterwards she told him, oh, by the way,
Starting point is 00:31:27 I am going to be dating other people and you should know that up front. Which sounds bad, but that is what Brooke whispered to her husband after they said I do on the other. So, Nick, I think there's hope for you. Yeah. Yeah, thanks, guys. We got you, Nick. Don't worry. I mean, the thing is, it is pretty brutal when you recap it.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Like, she could have maybe waited for, like, the next date to say that. Or a text message or something. Or just ghost him like a normal person does. Yeah, the timing was brutal. You're right, though. Maybe she was telling you because she still wanted to see you. She just, her calendar's busy with other dates. Yeah, I mean, maybe.
Starting point is 00:32:04 I mean, when you put it like that, it's kind of a downer, isn't it? Yeah. I thought the same, yeah. But it's as much hope as I could muster it. Yeah, with Brooke, you're not going to get much. So that's why I'm going to lead the conversation, at least at the start when we call her. Oh, wow. And then the rest of the rest of them can chime in.
Starting point is 00:32:18 If it stays good, Jeff will stay on. If it's bad, we'll just toss it to her. Yeah, there we go. All right? You're ready to do this, Nick? I guess so. Let's do it. I was kidding, by the way, Nick.
Starting point is 00:32:26 You're in good hands, okay? I don't know. Yeah. That's the worst all-state commercial ever. I know. You're in good hands. I don't know. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:32:37 I'm going to call it right now. Hello? Hey, we're looking for Elizabeth. This is her speaking. Perfect. Okay. This is Jeffrey speaking from a radio show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:33:05 She's like and? Hi. So what? Yeah, it's okay if you're underwhelmed, but we're doing a segment on our show that we'd like to bring you in on. It's called a second date update. Have you heard those before? No, I don't think I have.
Starting point is 00:33:20 Sorry, this is really weird to me. Sorry. It's okay. It's been to hear to anybody getting this phone call. That's all right. Yeah, we're trying to help out one of our listeners. that you went out on a date with recently named Nick? You guys went to, like, a toy-themed pop-up restaurant bar thing?
Starting point is 00:33:37 Yes, yeah. Oh, God, he reached out to you about that. Yeah. He wanted to see you again, and it sounds like maybe you're not giving him a firm yes or no on that. And we're just trying to help him figure stuff out, like, wanting to know exactly what was your takeaway from the date? Yeah, so, Luke, okay, so Nick is a super nice. sky and he's really sweet i had a nice date with him but i did tell him at the end of a date i'm just not in a place emotionally right now where i want to date just one person i i want to date
Starting point is 00:34:14 multiple people yeah he told us that yeah i don't think he's like i don't think he's trying to argue like you should only date him i think he just wants to see you again yeah he wants to be one of those people yeah yeah so it's a good thing it's a good thing he supports the lifestyle that you want to live. It sounds like you're trying to say something, but you don't want to, like, say it. Yeah, this is a little awkward. I think it's,
Starting point is 00:34:39 so I think I might have found somebody that's a better fit with me than Nick. But I thought you were dating multiple people. Yeah, you've only gone on one date with Nick. Why not just go on another one just to see how your connection is? I don't know. There's this one person that I've been on a couple days with,
Starting point is 00:34:56 and I feel like moving towards something. and I just, I don't see there really being a possibility with Nick anymore, at least until I investigate this other thing first. So there's nothing he can do to change your mind on that? I mean, here's a situation. I've been out on like seven or eight dates, and I would say Nick, he's not in the top two. I mean, he's like, maybe number three,
Starting point is 00:35:20 but I want to stick with the top two right now. And he's a really great guy. He's going to find something. I'm number three. going to find us? That's not bad. Nick, that's not bad. Top three?
Starting point is 00:35:31 Yeah. Yeah. Elizabeth, not sure if you heard, but Nick kind of jumped in there. Yeah. He's been on the other line listening to this conversation. He's like he's a little competitive. Well, I just think, I think three is a little low as all. I just, I think, you know, ranking, I would at least be in the top two.
Starting point is 00:35:48 I would assume, based on a day, it was pretty good days. Have you seen the other guys? Nick, what is going on? Did you set this whole thing up on the radio? I mean, maybe that moves him up To number two and number one But the other two guys wouldn't have reached out To a radio show just to get a hold of you
Starting point is 00:36:05 He's got drive Exactly No, they're right I just I don't know what to say I'm kind of weirded out by this whole thing Honestly Broke look what you did
Starting point is 00:36:18 You've weirded her out This you could think of it as Romantic right Do you want somebody romantic You want somebody who will go the extra mile for you. You know, and Nick's your guy. And the thing is, is like, man, can you imagine being told right after you kiss somebody that, like, hey, by the way, I'm going to see other people.
Starting point is 00:36:40 Like, that would be a big blow. And you know what? Nick has enough confidence to be like, you know what? That's okay. I'm cool with that. I would have told him earlier, but I just didn't know how to tell him or what to tell him. Yeah, maybe you should just, like, include it on your dating app. I mean, you know.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Nick, what do you want to do here, buddy? I mean, well, first, I just want to say that, like, I'm someone who pays attention. One of the things we talked about on our date was love languages, right? And I remember her saying that her love languages were words of affirmation and physical touch, right? And so I just want you to know, and I'm going to do this over the phone. You're so smart and so pretty and just an all-around wonderful human being. And you know what I want you to do? I want you to imagine I'm hugging you.
Starting point is 00:37:22 Oh, wow. Oh, hug yourself. Do any of the other two guys pretend to hug you through the phone, Elizabeth? Well, giving you compliments? I don't think so. Well, I don't know if those guys are as weird as he is, but you're right. I think the word you were going for was sweet there. Weird can be good?
Starting point is 00:37:41 Yeah. Would it make you feel better if maybe Jeff and I hugged for you? That's just Jose really desperate for, like, love in a long time. It's also his love language. We just want to help. Come on, you guys should go out again. One more time. See if he can move up to number two.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Yeah, I bet Nick would be a really good boyfriend. Again, she doesn't want that. A really good guy to date. Okay. One of many. Amend it. Yeah, I don't think so. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:38:07 If it's about, like, not knowing if I'm good enough, you know, you talk about, you know, dating other people. I've dated other people. Oh. I give you references with my ex. No, no, no. Don't do references, bro. Actually, I would like that. No.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Let's do that. Let's call some of Nick's answer. exes on the line right now and have them sing Nick's praises. I'm down let's do it. No, Nick, you don't want that. I don't think you want to know what your exes are really going to say about you, buddy. Please, Nick, you don't need to do that. You don't need to do it anymore. Look, I don't want to, I don't want to give up. I don't. I don't. Like, what is your,
Starting point is 00:38:39 like how is it? How would I send you something? What's your address? I can sit you like an edible arrangement? What's your address? No. Nobody wants edible fruit as a flower arrangement. Wait, what? That would be nice. Look, I just need to know, are you allergic to any fruit, you know? And it'll be a perfect arrangement. Oh, boy. Nick, I think you're falling down the list.
Starting point is 00:38:57 You're sounding kind of desperate. Look at the effort that he's willing to go, just to get one more date with you. Yes, he'll buy all the fruits. Nick, I wish you the best. You're a really great guy, but like I said, I just need to focus on the other two right now. But good luck out there. You're going to make someone really happy. Oof.

It's a damn near inspiring, true, story for anyone out there who's ever shot for the moon, then just totally muffed up the landing. They stole $17 million and had not bought a ticket to help him escape. So we're saying, like, oh, God, what do we do? What do we do? That was dumb. People do not follow my example.
