And she said, Johnny, the kids didn't come home last night.
Along the Central Texas Plains, teens are dying, suicides that don't make sense, strange accidents, and brutal murders.
In what seems to be, a plot ripped straight out of Breaking Bad.
Drugs, alcohol, trafficking of people.
There are people out there that absolutely know what happened.

Hi, I'm Danny Shapiro.
We were in the car, like a Rolling Stone came on, and he said, there's a line in there
about your mother.
And I said, what?
What I would do if I didn't feel like I was being accepted is choose an identity that
other people can't have.
I knew something had happened to me in the middle of the night, but I couldn't hold on to
what had happened.
These are just a few of the moving and important stories on my 13th season.

Hi, I'm Radhi Dvluca, and I am the host of a really good cry podcast.
This week, I am joined by Anna Runkle, also known as the crappy childhood fair.
a creator, teacher, and guide helping people heal
from the lasting emotional wounds of unsafe or chaotic childhoods.
Talking about trauma isn't always great for people.
It's not always the best thing.
About a third of people who are traumatized as kids

Hey, thanks for being here on a Saturday.
It's Brooke and Jeffrey,
and we've got your back-to-back classics right now,
just a double dose of our second dates.
Hey, and just a reminder,
You can always follow us.
You can on socials.
I was going to say in person.
I was going to say you love to pause there.
I wasn't sure where that was going.
I needed new friends.
Oh, you want them to follow you.
No, at Brick and Jeffrey.
And if you're not already on YouTube,
we'd love you to be over there as well.
We do all sorts of videos throughout the week that you can see us
and be disappointed in how we look.
So again, it's at Brick and Jeffrey.
And your back-to-back classics, start right now.
On a dating app, how do you go from getting just one or two
matches a month to having over 50 guys drooling, begging you to marry them on the spot
without changing a picture or telling a bold face lie.
They want to marry it?
It's not impossible because one of our listeners says it happened to her.
And all it took was adding three little numbers to her bio.
Numbers?
Girl, don't give your number out.
Wait, what?
Only three?
It's not Brooks' total body count.
Don't worry.
There's as many, many more numbers than that.
It's just 999.
Which is fine.
You'll find out what it was when we do your second date update next.
Second date update.
We're always talking about how much trouble guys have standing out on the dating apps.
We never really discuss the ladies and their struggles when they're online.
They don't have struggles.
Yeah, of course they do.
They have to deal with you.
Do you see what I'm saying?
I can see that.
Duh.
That's way worse.
One of our listeners,
Jossi, says that she's been trying for a bit
until she finally figured out
a dating hack that's worked for her
like a charm.
Oh, where she actually found like a quality person online?
Yeah, that's also different.
Maybe somebody looking for actual love.
Well, she's going to tell us about it
so that Alexis can steal all the men.
So, Josie, welcome to the show.
Hey, guys, what's going on?
Hey.
We're interested in what's going on with you.
Yeah.
We have our notepads out so we can
figure out what this hack is.
But I guess maybe you should start with the guy that it worked on.
What's his name?
His name is Sean.
Okay.
Okay.
And so what's, I mean, what is your problem with dating apps?
Like, what do you struggle with?
Well, I've been on dating apps for about six months, and I've heard of all these girls
getting, like, hundreds of messages.
Yeah.
And unfortunately, I am definitely not one of those women.
And I don't know why, you know?
Like, I'm not bad looking.
Well, I can help.
I can help with that.
Why don't you just let me know your phone?
It's better if you're avoiding those messages.
She wasn't fishing for anything there.
I think she was just telling us.
I may be part of the problem.
But it does feel like maybe there's something about your profile that isn't clicking right for people, right?
Is that what you were thinking?
Yeah, there has to be something because, again, I don't think I'm, like, crazy bad looking or anything.
Like, I do all the regular things.
I put, like, what I like in my bio and everything.
See, I can already see where you're messing up.
Boring?
Is that what you're saying?
Yeah.
Guys want someone that seems like they're really at a low point in their life.
What?
Really struggling.
This girl is hot and desperate.
I can fix her.
No.
No, what did you change?
You didn't add more desperation to your profile, did you?
No.
I'm so thirsty.
I don't think so.
Oh, okay.
What's your strategy then?
So I actually added to my profile, my credit score.
Oh, that's funny.
Oh, yeah, this is a thing right now.
Is it a thing?
Is it?
Yeah.
It's 804.
Dang, girl.
That's your credit score?
Girl, we're buying a house.
Oh, my God.
I thought it was out of 800.
What is a credit score out of?
I think it's like 820?
820, you're right.
We're not the most financially literate.
I know because I've been checking my credit.
I'm guessing that Alexis doesn't put her credit score on her dating profile.
I don't know where to find mine.
Yeah.
So wait, you put 804 in your profile.
That's just what you said?
Yeah.
I put 804 and then I put gold digger instead of gold digger like G.
G-O-A-LK.
Oh, that's good.
That's funny.
Yeah.
I guess people thought I was clever, because, you know, after that, it worked.
And I got tons of messages from all these guys who were literally right to, like, marry me.
I feel like, you seem like you're immediately smart and driven.
And despite what you two say, men do read.
Oh, just stop there.
I was like, read what?
No, you've had read.
Okay, yeah.
I've had baby real lous, but, you know.
So it sounds like.
was one of the guys that reached out to you?
Yeah, so he reached out to me
and we were just chatting.
Like, it was super fun, you know,
and we did talk about my credit score
and he made a cute joke about it.
And he was like, well, I said, you know,
I hope just because I have an 804 credit score,
you're not assuming I'm paying for the date, are you?
Oh, okay.
And he was like, no, you're paying for the first three.
Oh, that's funny.
Okay.
That's funny.
I like this.
Yeah, right?
So he's seen.
like clever and cute so I'm like why not go to drinks with him all right what was it like when
you met up with him so I showed up a little late I'm not going to lie which might have been you know
not the best but like once I got there it was so nice and he was great and we were getting along
really well okay he didn't seem put off by you being late like what like 15 20 minutes yeah it's
like 15 minutes okay he didn't seem like mad or anything at me okay but the only thing was that
Like, we weren't as flirty as I was hoping.
And, like, we did end up talking about, like, a lot of, like, budgeting and, like.
Oh.
It's, like, the opposite problem.
Or did he come to me for financial advice because you have your stuff together?
No, literally.
That's what I felt like.
And then I gave him a recommendation for a tax person.
No, boy.
He was so excited.
Oh, God.
Also, hosts in the room around me are coming off, like, this is a bad thing.
I think it's sexy, by the way.
It is.
She didn't even think it was hot.
Well, we didn't kiss, so, you know, that also just kind of threw me off and said, you know,
I just kind of gave him the tax guy's number.
And it was like, good night, okay, thank.
So this kind of sounds like you thought you were like a financial advisor for the other.
Yeah, but like I feel like there could have been a spark if like we did change it up.
Yeah, I moved on.
I mean, you can get stuck on a subject, you know?
Like, that's easy to do on a day.
I mean, I can't stop thinking about my credit score right now, too, now that we brought it up.
Is it possible that you think maybe he had the wrong intentions when he came into the date and just wanted that and maybe he's not the right guy for you?
I'm wondering because I texted him and I was like had so much fun, like just like a follow-up text and now he's not even responding and it's been a week and a half.
Have you talked to your tax person?
Has he responded to him or her?
I didn't check in on that, but I definitely should.
That's a good call.
Okay.
Now that you've fixed him financially, we just have to fix him romantically.
and get you guys on a second date, okay?
Guys love to be fixed.
That's what I'm going.
It's a woman love fixing them.
Yes.
Oh, God.
You don't, Alexis.
And I am a keeper-upper, ladies.
I'm just like taking notes.
Wait, I'm a fix-up.
It's the perfect circle.
We're going to complete it when we do your second date update.
Next.
Second date update.
Do you find financial talk arousing?
What?
What?
Oh, my God.
My mom is so excited right now.
Oh, no.
My depreciating asset is.
in a classy stock.
Am I able to transfer the interest it incurs overseas?
Oh, is it compound?
Without penalty.
Yes.
Yes.
He took a different economics class than I did, I think.
Or are you more like Jose, where every time he opens up his wallet, it's like an onion, and it makes him cry.
Yeah.
Wow.
That's a long brand.
I'm still going.
Very depressing inside of that wallet.
I will say when I open my portfolio, I do cry like that.
It checks out.
It is awful.
But one of our listeners is wondering if she was used for her financial expertise,
because she posted her excellent credit score right there on her dating app.
And it worked.
You got her so many messages.
Got her matched up with Sean.
But instead of getting a kiss at the end of their date,
she ended up just giving him the contact info to her tax guy.
Yeah.
Which, I mean, great for him, not quite as sexy and good for her.
Yeah.
But she's not giving up.
That's the good news.
No, that is good.
And I was just wondering, did you end up paying for the date or did he?
Because he made the joke.
He made the joke that you were going to pay because your credit score was so high.
We'd split it.
Oh.
Oh.
That's not.
That's also not a sexy move.
I mean, financially responsible, but not hot.
You know, it was okay with me.
I handle my business, so I don't care.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's just like after the joke and then to still split it.
You know, that's right.
It would have been to joke and then have him pay.
Right.
You should have bankrolled him for a year and then it wouldn't have been okay.
And if he paid in Bitcoin.
But let's get right into this call.
Okay, I'm going to dial Sean right now.
We'll see what he has to say.
Here we go.
Hello?
Sean, are you in the bathroom?
Is the Sean?
Yes, it is.
He's in a cave.
Who am I thinking of?
Are you mining right now?
Your phone is a little bit echoey, Sean, but we're a radio show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Does you sound better?
Yeah, it sounds a little bit better.
Okay.
So I was on my lunch break.
Oh.
Sorry about that.
I hate to interrupt you on your lunch break, Sean.
But we do have some important business to discuss with you regarding a woman that you went out with recently named Jossie.
A woman?
Wait.
You know, women, you know, they're like men, but with different parts.
Yeah, I'm familiar with women.
Okay.
You sounded confused when I said woman, so I'm just clarified.
Do you remember your date with Jossie?
You guys went to drinks?
Yes, yes, I do.
Okay, cool.
Well, newsflash, she is a woman, and other newsflash, she really liked you and wants to see you again.
Oh, that's really sweet of her.
Okay.
Okay.
So that's a positive to you.
Did you not think that already?
Oh, I mean, it was a good vibe, you know.
It just was a little not a, it wasn't a typical date.
Our topic of discussion wasn't, you know, how you get to know someone.
It wasn't like that.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, I think she wanted it to be a date, though.
I'll be honest.
We heard a little bit about your date from Jossie, and she mentioned that the talk went into, like, finances.
She said it was a little stiff and a little bit too much financial.
Yeah, she was really money oriented.
Oh.
Oh, God.
I thought you were the one asking her some of the questions about how she got her credit score so good.
That was on her dating profile.
So, you know, you want to pick it off with something in their bio.
Right, right.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, and that makes sense.
I know.
It sounds like she got stuck in talking about it, and she felt like you guys never got to be flirty with each other.
Well, okay, so she was 15 minutes late to the date because she was trying to find, like, the cheapest gas.
Like, there was some gas that was.
seven cents less than all the other gas stations.
And so she had to have that gas.
I think I would know someone like that.
Go out of their way to save a couple bucks.
She said you weren't bothered by her being late.
I wasn't bothered about her being late.
It was the reason why she was late.
And then she stopped at the dollar store because they had the best paper towel
at the best price.
Oh.
Oh.
She had to get that done before she met up with you.
Is she?
In her defense, those paper towels can be pretty expensive.
Yeah, they add one more layer.
Especially doing the earth-friendly kind.
You guys, dollar tree sells those.
Stop.
Why were you asking her about this?
She was the one that brought it up.
Like, she said I was doing this, and I was doing that.
Okay.
Got in cheap gas and buying dollar store paper towels.
All right.
So she's thrifty, and you don't like that.
Man, she can be thrifty all she wants.
Okay.
Oh, okay.
But if we were in a relationship, I will not be chastised about.
about paying an extra 75 cents for some ranch.
Wait, what?
Wait, is that a random example?
Yeah, it's like a hypothetical, you're saying.
No, no, that happened.
That's not a hypothetical.
What do you mean she chastise you?
What happened?
Yeah, what does chastise even mean?
I ordered some french fries, and I wanted a cider ranch.
Oh, yeah.
You're speaking my language.
And the waitress said it would be 75 cents.
Okay.
Okay.
And she was like, 75 cents.
canceled a ranch, he doesn't need it.
What?
Okay.
She canceled your ranch?
Don't you ever cancel my ranch?
That might cross a line.
That is all.
So wait, did you have to eat dry fries?
There was ketchup on the table.
Oh, yeah.
The pre-in' ketchup.
He's just dipping him in his water.
I feel like Jossie has some spleening to do, and she can do that right now.
And she owes you ranch.
Hey, hey, we can come back from this.
I don't think so.
I need to let you know, Sean Jossi's been on the other line listening, wanting to talk to you.
What? She's listening?
Yeah. That's how the segment works.
Jossie. You there?
Yes, I'm there.
Oh. Wow.
It was 75 cents. Like, I could make a whole bottle for 75 cents. I thought, you know, I was doing a paper.
I wanted to make sure he was taken care of.
No one needs you to churn a bottle of ranch or however it's...
You just buy the packets. I mean...
You're on the date, and they say this is how much something costs you pay that.
Yeah.
That's not even a dog.
The restaurant's work.
Exactly.
It was one thing if it was like, oh, this steak is 50 more dollars.
But listen, you guys, she thought she was helping, okay?
Right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, and I don't know why.
So I guess he was upset.
He was upset.
I was 15 minutes late.
It's not because you were late.
It was why you were late.
Yeah.
Waited any longer.
I would have been out of the paper towels at the dollar store.
I bet they go fast, yeah.
Yeah, they run out by six every single week.
And I was on my last roll.
I needed to stop there.
There's nothing I could have done.
Okay.
It's a matter of life and death then.
Sean, you can look past that.
No, she should have did.
She should have taken the napkins from the restaurant.
I'm surprised she didn't do that.
Who's the financial expert now, Joss?
Are you guys going to just be stealing napkins every time you go on days?
You see her like a dynamic duo.
John, do you do that?
That's honestly not a bad idea.
That was good thinking.
Oh, now you piqued her interest, Sean.
Is she joking?
I don't think she's joking, actually.
I don't think she joking.
You guys probably keep the ketchup packets, too.
All the time.
Usually at the grocery stores, you can get the ranch dip behind the counter as well for free, where the chicken strips are.
I feel like groceries has a problem.
We're getting to the same problem that they did, where we're getting too deep into the financial talk.
Okay?
Let's pull it back and talk to Sean for a second, because Sean, what you don't know is that before we called you, she was telling us how strong of a connection she felt the two of you had.
Yeah, and how she wanted to redo, because she didn't feel like it went great the first time.
Yeah.
I'm just hoping that Jossie still feels the same way as she did before and is still into him.
Jossie, are you still up for going out with him one more time on R. Dime?
That's a smart financial decision right there.
It's free.
I mean, that does sweeten the deal, but honestly, like, I want someone that looks at my strategizing with my money
and thinks that that's a great thing instead of thinking I'm cheap.
That's understandable.
I bet he doesn't even hire his nieces and nephews to landscape the house so he can ride it off like I do.
It saves me $70 a year.
What?
Oh.
Landscaping.
Are you kidding me?
Another financial gem from Jossi.
Like, man, she is out of control.
Dude, 804.
That's what her credit score is.
804.
Yeah, you have to plan these things.
Okay.
Is it worth it?
Yes.
I don't think so.
Maybe not for love.
Save a couple bucks.
From what I'm hearing, it sounds like you guys aren't going to match up and meet up one more
time.
No.
So, uh.
Negative.
Oh, come on.
Jossie, I'm telling you, you're going to see him at that dollar store trying to get those paper towels from you next week.
Yeah, he better get there early because I'm blocking him out if he's there.
Oh, dang.
Actually, let's all go to the dollar store.
Maybe Alexa, I go to the regular store, like regular people.
Why pay more?
Okay.
Because it's convenient.
You pay her a convenient.
Okay.
We're going to the ranch factory instead.
Let's do that.
We don't agree on the ranch factory, right?
Bring your cups, kids.
Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Hi, I'm Radhi Dvlukaya, and I am the host of a really good cry podcast.
This week, I am joined by Anna Runkle, also known as the crappy childhood fairy,
a creator, teacher, and guide helping people heal from the lasting emotional wounds of unsafe or chaotic
childhoods.
We talk about how the things we went through when we were younger can still show up in our
adult lives, in our relationships, our reactions, even in the way we feel in our own bodies.
And Anna opens up about her own story, what helped her notice the patterns she was stuck in,
and how she slowly started teaching her body that it is safe now.
So when I got attacked, it was very random.
Four guys jumped out of a car and just started beating me and my friend.
And they broke my jaw on my teeth.
I was unconscious.
Then I woke up and I screamed.
And I screamed because even though I didn't know who I was or where I was,
something in me was just like, hold on, wait, they could kill me and I'm not going to let that happen.
I'm not going to let that happen.
I'm going to get through this and I did.
Listen to a really good cry on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast,
or wherever you get your podcast.
The social media trend that's landing some Gen Zier is in jail.
The progressive media darling whose public meltdown got her fired.
I'm going to take Francesco off the network entirely.
The massive TikTok boycott against Target that makes no actual sense.
I will continue getting stuff from Target.
And I will continue to not pay for it.
And the MAGA influencers, whose trip to the White House ended in embarrassment.
It's so refreshing to have the press secretary after the last few years,
both intelligent and articulation.
You won't hear about these online stories in the mainstream media,
but you can keep up with them and all the other entertaining and outrageous things
happening online in media and in politics with the Brad versus Everyone podcast.
Hosted by me, Brad Palumbo.
Every day of the week, I bring you on a wild ride through the most delulu takes on the internet,
criticizing the extremes of both sides from an independent perspective.
Join in on the insanity and listen to the Brad versus Everyone podcast on the Iheart radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Gas prices, paper towel shortages, and child labor.
Wow.
Is this public radio?
No, it's the status of the current dating landscape, what people are talking about.
I mean, times are tough, man.
People are gearing up, you know, getting ready.
Recession proof.
Maybe gear up to yourself.
Didn't work out for those too, but I'm just going to say, I do think they missed out.
On what, a good deal somewhere else?
Those two, they could have teamed up to become one of those ultra-success
billionaire power couples who are good at both money and love.
Like Bill Gates and...
Nope, that's a bad example.
Like, Jeff Bezos and...
No way.
Like Elon Musk.
Yeah, no.
That robot is dating.
Actually, I think he's still with Grimes.
No.
No.
You don't like kissing robots right now.
Let's forget it.
Let's just do Love is Blind Season 3, Brazil edition.
Okay.
Stick with what works.
Warren Buffett, he's still with us.
What about Jay-Z and Beyonce?
I mean, I think he's still alive.
I don't know it's a little rocky too.
Yeah.
Okay.
Where are the power couple's at?
Never mind.
If you just want to be not a power couple, just a normal, regular couple who's truly in love.
Email the show.
We'll call that person who isn't calling you back and check out all of our podcasts wherever you get yours at Brooke and Jeffrey.
Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
We talk about this on the show a lot that before you go out with someone, always Google them first.
Oh, yeah.
And if for some reason you don't, then definitely Google them after.
Well, that's a good reference.
One guy did not do that before or after, and he's probably feeling really stupid right now.
Because one of our listeners had a little secret.
She didn't tell the guy on their date, but she does reveal it to us.
Ooh, I love a good secret.
You're going to hear her juicy confession coming up in a second date up.
date right after this.
Second date update.
It's more and more popular nowadays to go to restaurants and food spots that do shared
tables.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, like the community tables, you know, like the big long ones and you kind of sit at the end.
Yeah, Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
The upside to that is you might meet somebody interesting sitting at your table.
The downside is you're sharing napkins.
What?
Swipe and pass.
No, it's not.
At least that's my experience.
And I'm just hoping I'm not forth in line for the community napkins.
You clean your mouth and then pass it over to the next person.
He's stealing other people's napkins is what I think is happening.
It's all about conservation.
Okay?
That's the way forward.
But the only reason that I even bring it up is because one of our listeners says she met a guy while sitting at a shared table.
Her name is Donna.
That's cute.
Donna, did you have to share napkins at the table like I do?
No, I didn't share any napkins.
Oh, okay.
Just sharing a straw, sip and pass.
Which is probably conversation, Jeff.
That's probably all she shared, right, Donna?
Yep, that's pretty much it.
Okay.
This is a good start.
Well, yeah.
I definitely need to know where this place is that had your community tables because I'm going to the wrong spots.
Where did you?
You're banned from all the other ones.
Yours are so unsanitary, Jeff.
Yeah.
Where did you go?
It was a food festival.
Oh, that's cool.
Okay.
So you had like a picnic table sitting down.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's cool.
A fold out table.
Gotcha.
We started sharing to.
And who was this guy?
I, that you met.
Eric.
Eric, okay.
What was Eric eating?
Is that what draw on you to him?
Is that how you struck up conversation?
Oh, God, look at that guy's chicken.
I only date guys who eat Euros.
Can I get that napkin when you're done, by the way?
No, Jeff.
No, how did you meet him?
Oh, he was actually at the beer garden.
Oh, even better.
Okay.
Yeah, it's a little bit easier to meet somebody there.
How did you do it?
No, they're of age.
Yeah, that's a good point.
We were trying to, like, figure out where to sit down.
and so he had a little picnic table
and it was just kind of him
and for friends
so it was just kind of this nice
like perfect two guys, two gavs
hanging out at a picnic table kind of thing
So how long did you guys hang out together?
It was like an hour and a half maybe
because we were just kind of having a good time
Yeah it was super natural like he was really funny
really genuine nice guy
and I just saw myself laughing so much
because you're so goofy
Oh, that's awesome
Yeah I love that
I wouldn't call him goofy to his face, but I could see how it's a positive thing to say.
Was your girlfriend, like, hyping you up?
I mean, could she tell that you were into him?
Yeah, I mean, she was, like, making eyes at me.
Like, this guy really likes you, and she could totally tell.
And he and I actually did agree to hang out later, like, after the event.
Cute.
Oh, perfect.
So what did you and Eric do when you met up after the event?
Well, we had already drank a lot because we were chilling in the beer garden for a while.
Yeah.
So we don't want to drink any more.
We just walked around the city and talked.
We stopped and got some dessert.
Oh.
Nice.
Yeah, I just really liked him.
Did you kiss him or did he kiss you or anything like romantic happened?
No, no kissy stuff, no hand holding it or anything.
But you felt the vibe.
Yeah.
So looking back now at the whole thing, what do you think the reason is that he might not be calling you back?
Is there, do you have any idea?
Okay.
Oh, no.
Why did you pause?
like that.
Yeah. Something's going on.
I don't know.
I don't know what I should say or if I can.
You're embarrassed about something?
Why would you not be able to say it?
Is it about you?
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, you know how this segment works.
Like, you should probably be honest with us now because if we call him and he says it
and we're not prepared for that.
You know, please say you're not married.
It could be embarrassing for you.
So if it's going to come out anyway, you might as well tell us.
now.
Just close your ears when you tell us so you don't hear it.
It might be one of those things.
Like, maybe he doesn't know this about me or something.
And then it's like, I'm revealing this thing.
And I'm like, oh, God, what if that wasn't the thing?
I'm in an orange tree.
Okay, wait, you don't know if he knows or not?
Would he be able to find it out of the internet?
Yeah.
Okay, then he knows.
Well, let's just get that overweight.
I mean.
Well, what is it?
Can we know what it is?
And we won't bring it up to him unless he says it.
I, okay. I didn't say any of this to him, but I don't know if you found out, like, okay, I don't even know if I could say this right now.
Deep breath. You can say it. It's probably, honestly, like, all this stuff is usually not as big of a deal as people think it is in their head, right? I just don't want my mom to be listening or something.
Oh, okay. We're big with moms, so. Yeah. You're a triple murder suspect or what's going on?
Yeah, we've heard that before. Yeah.
Hey, we're an innocent,
tell proven guilty type of show.
Yeah, just tell us.
I'm on only fans.
You're on only fans.
Oh, okay.
You know what?
I bet your mom doesn't even know what that is.
Yeah, so I think you're safe.
I hope so.
Okay.
Like, if you searched your name when it come up, you know,
because he knows your name, he could Google you.
I think more importantly is, like, the content.
Like, is it PG-13 or is it something?
Brooke just asked her to send you a link if you really got interested.
What do you want, Brooke?
Is it pretty aggressive?
It's not extremely aggressive, but it's definitely, like, leaning into right at R.
Okay.
Well, some guys love that, and some guys don't.
It's a personality thing.
You're definitely going to have to tell him whether he knows now or not.
And we really appreciate you being vulnerable and coming clean about that to us.
We will definitely get your information during the break for Jose's sake.
But you see...
Wait, I thought I was getting her information.
I get the free trial.
I was nicer.
We're very thorough in our research whenever we do this thing.
But just, now I'm curious, how successful are you with your only fans?
Are you somebody who might be more well known or?
Well, yeah, yeah, I'm somewhat popular.
Like, I have a pretty big following.
Okay, wow.
Well, now I guess that has me curious.
If you've got all these followers and all the success, then why Eric?
What?
She's not interesting.
She likes Eric.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's a great question.
I'm not on any.
dating apps. And this
happened organically, which
it was very exciting to meet him just
like face to face as strangers.
It felt like that cute little meat cute,
you know? Yeah. How will
you handle it if it is an issue for him?
I don't know. I mean, some
guys are scared. Some guys are like way too
into it. So it's like, is that the only reason
why you like me? I think I know which category
we fell into. Sorry.
But we will not bring this up
again unless Eric says it first, because
we're going to come back and call him
and ask him, why wouldn't he call you back after such a great, unique, genuine hangout?
I keep forgetting he may not even know about the only fans.
It is so nice to have a listener just be honest with us from the beginning.
I know.
I think you understand how much easier this makes our job.
It did take a lot to get it out of it.
It doesn't matter.
Unless the radio is even worse than our.
So we're going to find out when we call Eric and get you your second date update right after this.
Hold on.
Second date update.
Brooks said it earlier, and I think we all agree, it is refreshing to have a listener actually be honest and vulnerable with us up front for real.
It makes me feel so much less stressed going into this phone call, even though that's like a big, I mean, it's kind of a big thing.
Yeah, but it feels like we're all on the same page.
Yes, it's good to know that information before we dial this guy.
And our listener, Donna, who Jose's already searched that name 14 times during the break, she told us about...
There's so many Donna's on O.F., by the way.
I know.
It's hard to nail out which one she is.
But she told us about her meeting with a guy named Eric.
It happened organically when they were both at a food festival.
And they ended up bonding, walking around the city together, sharing desserts.
Now he's not calling her back.
It was such a sweet interaction.
It was.
It really felt genuine.
And the whole reason I bring up the honesty part is because she admitted to us
that Eric may have found out that she is a successful model on OnlyFans.
Yeah.
Here's the thing is we all understand that that information can tend to freak some people out.
And maybe that could be the reason that Eric is avoiding her.
And if he brings it up, do you want us to admit then that we already know, Donna?
Or is that something then you just want to talk to him?
Or do we lie and say, that's not her?
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know, actually, I feel like I would like it if I were to be the one to say to her.
Okay.
Okay.
If he knows.
Makes sense.
Fair.
If he found something online.
Fair.
If he already knows.
I mean, he's going to find out eventually if you ever talk about work.
Well, it's your job.
You can always keep a secret life for 20, 30 years before you have to come clean about it.
Me?
I work from home.
Yeah.
So you doesn't have to know all the details.
That's good advice, Jeff.
It's really, it's really up to you, Donna.
This is your decision.
We're just going to call Eric.
We'll see if he answers the phone.
And then from that point on, we're just going to roll with it, okay?
Okay.
Beautiful.
All right.
Here we go.
I'm going to dial his number right now.
Let's do this.
Hello?
Hey, we're looking to talk with Eric.
Yeah, this is Eric.
This is a show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Eric, hey, good morning.
Whole show's here.
I'm Jeffrey.
Hi.
You guys want to go around the room and introduce yourself?
Go ahead.
Let's sound off, room.
I'm just show work.
I'm okay.
Let's, okay, Eric, hey.
That's bro.
Brooke, she's the fun one.
So awkward.
Why are you so awkward?
Anyway.
And there's also some Alexis.
I want to hear him talk.
We're trying to help out one of our listeners that you actually went on a date with recently.
Her name's Donna.
Sounded like a cute date.
I guess if I had to sum it up, I would say that I just had a date.
for an impression of her on our date from when we first met at this beer garden, and I don't
know how much he told you.
Well, it's not much more than that, according to her, it was the beer garden.
You went out afterwards walking around the city.
I thought it was really sweet that you guys didn't drink again either.
Like, you shared dessert.
It sounds like you had great conversation.
I don't know how that even happens.
How do you stop drinking?
That was a personal comment.
But you were saying that you got a different impression from her from when you met.
and during the date?
Can you explain what you meant?
Yeah, I want to make it clear.
She's a super sweet girl.
She's really nice.
She's really cute.
Wow, that's great.
And maybe it was just because it was loud at the beer garden where we were there,
but she seemed a little more outgoing and a little more, I don't know, wild, if that's a fair word.
And when we were on our date, she just seemed really shy.
And a little, I don't know, conservative or...
What are you?
Can you elaborate on that conservative part?
Like what made her come off that way to you?
She just kind of gave off goody-goody vibes.
Oh, that is so unattractive, isn't it?
Really?
Not generally what I'm into.
I feel you on that.
And you're really good at reading people.
Right.
Yeah, I am pretty good at reading people.
And to be honest, she just seemed a lot more innocent than I am.
Okay.
You think she's too innocent.
And you want like a wild woman.
Yeah, I don't mean like wild.
I'm just looking for someone who's a little more adventurous.
Okay.
Aren't you in for an adventure right now?
Wow.
Choose your own adventure at this point.
Buckle up.
There is a very adventurous woman on the other line listening in on this phone call.
And I'm not sure if you could guess that girl would be Donna.
No way.
Oh, yeah.
Donna.
Really?
Really?
Don, are you there?
Hi, Eric.
Oh, my God.
Are you dying on the inside, Donna?
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hey, Donna.
I didn't know you were on the other end of the line.
And I don't want to seem like a jerk here.
Like, you are super sweet.
You're such a kind girl.
And I have a really great time.
Mm-hmm.
No, I get it.
I get it.
And I hear you.
I literally heard everything you said.
I totally get it.
And maybe I do come across that way in one-on-one scenarios.
But I'm adventurous.
I do have quite an adventure wild side.
I mean, that's cool for you to say that.
And again, I think you're really cool.
But like, you can say that.
But I don't know how I'm supposed to believe that based on the signals that I was picking
up from you, you know?
Really?
Okay.
Well, you could just trust me that I'm not as shy as I seem.
Oh.
I don't really meet people in person.
So, yeah, it's exciting, a little weird, and I obviously came off very shy, but I don't
say, I do have, I'm experienced.
I'm an experienced woman.
That is such a weird.
You do not have to say that.
I feel like she's not used to having to say this.
I know, but she's obviously not shy.
She called a radio station and is here with us, like, even outside of the other stuff.
I mean, it's pretty wild that she called a radio station.
But again, you sound innocent to me.
And you're just kind of trying to pretend to be someone you're not.
To please me, and that doesn't, you don't need to do that.
Because you sound so wild on the phone.
Okay, well, I guess if you feel that way
and you don't want to believe me or get to know me more
than, I guess, nice meeting you.
Oh, my God.
Oh, no.
I think that's a good choice, Donna.
Oh, Donna.
Okay.
No, I don't think Donna should tell him.
I like what she's doing.
I do, too.
I think she should tell him, like, before he hangs up.
I mean, he is so certain who she is
and doesn't have an open mind to see anything else.
Like, Donna, I'm guessing,
doesn't feel like he deserves that knowledge.
Well, fine, but at least before we go,
I have to ask, Eric, would you like to go out
with shy, innocent Donna one more time
and we would pay for the date?
You know, again, it doesn't seem like a match.
I appreciate it.
Wow.
I mean, Eric, I think you made a mistake
and maybe I'll see you online sometimes.
He's going to have to pay us here.
What does that mean?
I wouldn't worry about it
Eric
You know what
Can somebody just tell me what's going on
Not sorry bye
All right he's gone
Sorry Donna we had to hang up on that guy
I'm glad you did
Have you ever had a guy
Assume that about you before
I can maybe see why he maybe thought that
But like it was so crazy
They just didn't want to give me another chance
I like how hardcore he thought he was
You know, he's just crazy.
I want to be there the day he finds out what you do.
I know. It's probably the day that he listens to this podcast
and is like, oh my God, the mistakes that I've made.
He was so sure.
He knew how to read people.
That's what got me.
Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Hi, I'm Radhi Dvlukeh, and I am the host of a really good cry podcast.
This week, I am joined by Anna Runkle, also known as the crappy childhood fairy,
A creator, teacher, and guide helping people heal from the lasting emotional wounds of unsafe or chaotic childhoods.
We talk about how the things we went through when we were younger can still show up in our adult lives,
in our relationships, our reactions, even in the way we feel in our own bodies.
And Anna opens up about her own story, what helped her notice the patterns she was stuck in,
and how she slowly started teaching her body that it is safe now.
So when I got attacked, it was very random.
Four guys jumped out of a car and just started beating me and my friend.
and they broke my jaw on my teeth, I was unconscious.
Then I woke up and I screamed.
And I screamed because even though I didn't know who I was or where I was,
something in me was just like, hold on, wait, they could kill me,
and I'm not going to let that happen.
I'm not going to let that happen.
I'm going to get through this, and I did.

We're getting a lot of texts in 785.992 on this one.
One says, I hope Eric's listening right now and realizes it.
he missed out on the chance of a lifetime.
But yeah.
It's really a learning moment to not judge people so quickly.
Really?
You know?
Don't judge a book by its cover sort of thing.
I don't think it was a cover that was the problem.
It was just like her attitude.
Yeah.
Another text says,
I've been trying to date an only fan's girl for years.
That guy's an idiot.
Oh, man.
There's a lot of other people on the text board, though, going crazy because we didn't tell him
and didn't say it.
She never revealed what she does to him.
I'm proud of her for nine.
I know, I agree.
I thought this would be like Alexis going out with Christiana Rinaldo and just not realizing he plays soccer and it's like, you're not my type.
Oh, yeah.
What are you doing?
Donna did email the show after we recorded that, though, and said, I thought I'd just send him a screenshot as a pardon gift.
She did not.
I think he knows now.
Did she just trying to get more subscribers?
Yeah.
Out of this, you probably did.
We're hoping to get a few more subscribers if you like the second date.
You can always, we're free.
We're free.
100%.
I still have my shirt off, by the way.
