It looks like I'm the only one that showed up on a classic Saturday second day update. So I'm going to leave my Venmo code at the bottom. If anyone wants to send me some extra cash, that would be awesome. How do you go from zero matches? No prospects on your dating profile. to suddenly having your inbox full of available singles all wanting to meet you.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Oh, you just used Alexis's picture instead? Yeah, seriously. I'm not talking about, like, catfishing or lying about yourself to trick people. Because one of our listeners says he adjusted one little thing on his app that instantly changed the game for him. Really? Immediately he got way more swipes and he wishes that he'd done this years ago. you're going to hear how he pulled it off coming up in your second date update next second date update dating older women it's like adult braces because you're going to get to a point in your
Starting point is 00:03:38 life where it's like gosh i probably need it i know it's good for me but it's also going to be weird because everyone around me's going to see me they're going to be judging me for it i'm going to try and keep it a secret you know keep my mouth shut literally that is a younger man perspective on dating up above his age. But one of our... Because you're not there yet, but one day you will. One day I might get to the point where I need adult braces and I need an older woman. But one of our listeners says he's brave enough to admit it right here on our show and even braver to admit that she's not calling him back after their date.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Okay. So let's talk to him. Nate, welcome to the show. Hi, thanks for having me. Nate, you're very brave. Why is this brave? Like, why is, like, that is such a weird... It's brave or her to take on a... Oh, God, I'd have to deal with them.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Such a weird thing to say. Like, how much older is this woman? I mean, I guess if she's 30 years older, then that's a thing to tackle. Which retirement home did you meet this gal at? I didn't meet her at a retirement home. Oh. I met her on a dating app. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Okay. And what's your guys' age gap? Do you know? Well, I'm 32. Uh-huh. And she's 49. Okay. It's not like you're a 22-year-old.
Starting point is 00:04:52 That would be weird. Yeah, yeah. Only because, like, what do you want to do with a 20, I don't know, 22-year-olds are kind of... Which did the matter. It's 17 years difference between the two of them. Okay. Is that right? Yeah, that sounds about right.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Okay. That's a big gap, but, you know, it's not undoable. What's her name, by the way? Her name is Lori. Okay. And how did you find Lori online? Well, I decided after a long time of just using dating apps, like with people around my own age, that I needed to branch out. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:23 because I was getting kind of bored. So what do you think, like, an older woman has to offer you instead of a woman in her 30s? Well, obviously, experience wisdom, but frankly, I just wanted something new. Okay. And there's probably not much pressure for, like, babies and marriage. I could be her daughter.
Starting point is 00:05:40 That's done. Actually, Nate might be going out with your mom here, Alexis. Your mom, Lori? No, my mom is not Lori. Thank God. Maybe online she is, though. Okay. So you went out with Lori, where'd you guys go?
Starting point is 00:05:56 You know, we went out to eat. We had a nice time. Oh, really? Like, what did you guys connect over? We just sort of talked. She actually invited me out and picked the place. She's much more successful than I am. She was like, I'm going to treat you.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Yeah. The older people tend to be for some reason. They come to the territory. They just have more money. You didn't feel emasculated at all? No, I mean, I'm a pretty progressive guy. You know, I'm not. I don't need to be, quote, unquote, the man all the time.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Yeah, for sure. When you say that she was successful, what do you mean by that? Like, you're talking about her job sort of deal? Yeah, her job. She's a business woman. She's like, is one of like a higher up, some company. Like, she's like a boss. Dude, that's awesome.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Good for her. I like that. What do you do? Do you mind us asking? I am a ballet. Okay. She's a boss. You're an employee.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Did you notice, like, at any point in your guys' conversation, like, oh, God, we do come from two different generations. You know, I initially, I was worried about that, but it ended up working okay. We talked about video games a lot. Like, we talked about Rocket League, which is crazy. Like, I can't believe that she knows Rocket League at all. Was there anything, like, sexy about that? Yeah, she plays video games, Brooke.
Starting point is 00:07:15 That is sexy to a man. You know, but I mean, to her, it probably feels like she's talking to a teenage boy. I don't know. She brought it up. Did she, though, or did he bring it up? She just knew what it was. Yeah, we were just talking about what we were into, and I said, lately, I've been playing a lot of Rocket League.
Starting point is 00:07:31 And she was like, I know Rocket League. She didn't just say, oh, it's a game with a Rockets. It's actually a car game. Or like I buy it for my sons. Well, Nate, tell us, was there any, like, weird stuff that happened during the date? I mean, like, the waiter thought it was weird. Like, the waiter kept looking at me like, really, man? Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:07:53 That's kind of rude. I'm imagining nature's like drawing with crayons on the server. What are you doing, bro? So how do the night end? Well, I invited her back to my place, which she declined, which is in her right to do. Of course, yeah. Wow. I'm mature.
Starting point is 00:08:10 And then she gave me a kiss on the forehead. Oh. Oh. I told you she thinks of him as like a... Well, that's like cute, funny thing. I mean, back in the day, I used to take things. a lot slower romantically. So you started with a forehead kiss
Starting point is 00:08:25 and then you slowly. There was way more bases back in the day. I bet she kissed a server on the forehead too. She wasn't born in the 1950s or 40s or something. Like, have you seen what Alexis's mom is wearing out? She's not doing forehead kisses. No. Alexis's mom don't wear much.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Let's be able. You left the date. She went home. What's happened since then? Well, I've been trying to get a second date, but she's like really busy. I mean, she's got this crazy job and everything. but she did try to see if I was free this coming Tuesday at 2 p.m.
Starting point is 00:08:57 It's a weird time. Did you say yes or no to Tuesday at 2? I said no because I'm at work. I mean, I'd love to meet her at 2 p.m. on a Tuesday, but I'm parking cars, man. Yeah, makes sense. So, and then she's just been elusive when you've asked her out. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:14 This is definitely a new one for us. You don't think it's just that she's not interested because... He's a younger guy that spent the day talking about video games. and he, you know, doesn't have an equal job to her. I don't see a single wrong thing of what you said there. She wouldn't meet me at all, though, the thing, I think. If she didn't like me, she would just stop posting. She pursued him on the app.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Like, she swiped right on him just the same way she swiped right on her or whatever the thing. Yeah, but sometimes you have ideas and that they turn out to be not as great as you thought. I don't know. Okay. I don't appreciate that attitude coming into the second part. We're going to call this lovely, mature woman who is totally into you 100%. We're not going to call her that when we talk to her. Whatever the right thing to call her is, we're going to figure that out. And then we'll try and get you a second date update right after this.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Thank you. All right. Hold on. Second date update. We have a guy in the line named Nate who just revealed to us he went on a date with a woman 17 years his senior. Yeah. That's a big gap. It's decent size.
Starting point is 00:10:12 They're not connecting afterwards. And I know the girls in the room think it's because he was too immature. And she's not going to want to talk to him. him about video games and Rocket League and that was a turnoff. I mean, that happens with no age gap. Excuse me, let me remind you, the man
Starting point is 00:10:31 to my left, Jose Bolognios plays video games all the time and he's the most mature person I know. Hit him up at hilarious Jose on Twitch and find out what a catch he truly is. And I will say for the record, I am the most single
Starting point is 00:10:47 person I know. That's my choice. Maybe that's not helping. And no woman can hold him down. That's why. That's what it is. But I also think that's it. I think our listener, Nate, brought up a good point, too. The ladies think she regrets going out with a younger guy after the date.
Starting point is 00:11:04 But she's the one who is asking him to hang out again. Not a younger guy. Just him. And asking him at a time no one's ever free. Yeah. The Tuesday is just the point that she's reaching out still engaging him, asking to see him again. I mean, that must mean something. Right, Nate?
Starting point is 00:11:21 Yeah, she must like me to some degree, but she hasn't answered my last four text. She's busy. Okay? She's busy. She's a career woman. Let's just give it a shot. We're speculating forever. We need to call and find out.
Starting point is 00:11:34 I've never called someone this old before, so I wonder if she'll pick up a lane line. Do not do that when we're on the phone with her. I can't wait. She is going to hang up on us. Okay, I won't say it. Do we need a rotary phone? I promise. I'm not crossing any body parts.
Starting point is 00:11:45 I won't say it. Okay. Here we go. Hello? Hi, is this Lori? Speaking, who's calling? Hi, Lori. Yeah, sorry, you're on the radio right now.
Starting point is 00:12:04 Your voice kind of took me by surprise. Why? I don't know. I know why. You have some weird three conceit notions. No, I'm sorry. Yes. We're...
Starting point is 00:12:13 Who is this? Sorry. We're a show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Yeah. Why are you calling? It's a great question, Lori. Yeah, we do a segment called The Second Date Update
Starting point is 00:12:25 and that's where we help our listeners who've gone out with somebody hook up with them one more time. Go out with them one more time. I don't know if you have, I think you might have the wrong number. I'm so sorry. No, it's not the wrong.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Well, it made me the wrong number. Are you the Lori that went out with a guy recently named Nate to dinner? Oh, God. Oh. A little younger. than you?
Starting point is 00:12:52 What? How do you know this? I'm sorry. How do you know this? You are having a reaction right now to that name. Sorry, we're not trying to like make this awkward for you, but Nate reached out to our show and told us that you guys went out and he's been trying to see you again. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:13:08 He really liked you. Oh, no. Okay. Okay. Are you okay? Why? Well, I just, I don't, I think something got like some liars. been crossed here.
Starting point is 00:13:21 What do you mean? We're a little bit confused because he told us that you even mentioned a specific time and a date like 2 o'clock on a Tuesday where you wanted to meet up with him and you couldn't make it. Yeah. Well, I just, I feel bad because I, to be honest, I haven't been 100% up front with him about my, I guess, my intentions for wanting to meet up with him. You met him on the dating app, right?
Starting point is 00:13:49 Like, I mean, if you meet anybody on a dating app, it feels like the intention is to date. Romantic. Oh, so you're just looking for a fling? No, no, I'm not. I'm married. Wait, what? Oh, wow. What do you mean you're married?
Starting point is 00:14:03 Why are you on an app? I didn't mean to be on a dating, the dating part. I'm wearing this app, and you can look for friendship. I was, you know, I put on my profile. Oh, my God. Wait. So you were on the wrong section. Or he was on the wrong section.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Did that come up during your date that you're trying to be his friend? You know, I guess I didn't, I wasn't like explicitly saying, you know, I'm just looking for a friend. I think I just, what's happening is I have a stepson and he is, he's 17 and he can't draw, he can't figure out driving. And I was looking at this app, you know, some friends of mine use it. and they said, you know, take a look because sometimes you can meet people that have different skills that can actually help you out in the real world.
Starting point is 00:14:56 I don't get it. I came across Nate's profile and I saw he's a valet and my son is having trouble with parking. Like, why wouldn't you just be out front and ask him like, hey, and tell him what's going on as soon as you message him on the app?
Starting point is 00:15:14 Well, I mean, he, When we were talking about, you know, what do you like to do in your spare time? And so Nate brought up that he likes to play this game, Rocket League. And I was like, oh, I know Rocket League because I have a kid who plays Rocket League. Oh, that's how you know. Okay. Well, this is clearing up a lot of things. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:15:39 I don't know what to say other than we need to tell you that Nate is on the other line right now and has been listening to this conversation. Oh, great. Okay. Wouldn't that be good? Because now it's clear? Nate? I mean, actually, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:54 I think this is the, I mean, I don't, I can't believe he wouldn't just talk to me, but I could. Now's your chance to do it. Nate, you there? Yeah, I'm here. I'm in shock. Nate, did you have any idea she was looking to just hire you to help her son? No. I'm regretting calling the radio about it.
Starting point is 00:16:16 That's a little embarrassing. Why do you think I bought you dinner? I bought you dinner. It wasn't a date. I didn't want you to think it was a date. It was like sort of an interview, you know. But you don't go to dinner for interviews. Like, I've never taken a babysitter out to dinner because I wanted him.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Poor babysitters. You know. I know. Treat them like trash. I've never, like, been like, hey, is there a young 30-something man that wants to babysit my kids and let me take you out to dinner? Like, that just. seems you should give it a try it works out really well that's weird it doesn't because she's here well on the app we were chatting before the date and he was saying how he was interested in
Starting point is 00:16:53 you know another business and e-commerce and so i have experience in that and i thought you know i'll i'll scratch his back if he can scratch mine i think he meant literally i know there's more like some actual skin-to-skin contact huh i can see that like i can see why there's a miscommunication is this clicking Nate are we clearing things up for you here? So just to be clear, the 2 p.m. thing. That's not like a hangout afternoon delight sort of. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:21 You have to hang out with him on a Tuesday at two? No. My son's off from school at that time. So, you know, I just thought it would be the perfect time for driving lesson before his lacrosse start. Or perfect time before your husband gets home. I don't know. I just still think you got coffee.
Starting point is 00:17:44 But, okay. No, you can go to my profile right now and says, looking for friendship. Okay. So does my Tinder back. Hot tip, men don't read the profiles. That just usually means you're not looking for something serious. Yeah. That is right.
Starting point is 00:17:59 I mean, maybe include a picture of you and your husband next time. There it is. That could mean something else. Yeah. Yeah. I'm a bad idea. I guess I'll do that. I will do that.
Starting point is 00:18:10 Well, hold on. We still have Nate on the phone with us here. maybe there's some sort of deal that we could strike up. Yeah, I mean, are you still looking for, like, helping your son out? Because, like, I could use some money. Oh, okay. So maybe this is clear. I'll take money over the forehead kiss any day.
Starting point is 00:18:30 Yeah, I'm so sorry about the forehead kiss. I honestly, I didn't know what to do there. I do that to all my babysitters and people that help with my kids, too. Yeah, she does it to us even every day when we leave. It's super awkward. I mean, I'm absolutely willing, you know, if the offer stands, I'm willing to help you out with some business acumen and, you know, different tips and everything if you can help me with my son. That's pretty good. Yeah, what do you say, Nate?
Starting point is 00:18:56 There's once-of-a-lifetime opportunity. You know, I've got your number. Let's work something out. Okay. All right. So now we're actually paying for a real business dinner this time. Yeah, I guess so. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:07 Well, look at that, Nate. We're trying to hook you up with like a romantic partner, but we may have just gotten you a part-time. job instead. There we go. You know what, I'll take it. Hey, make sure to put us on your LinkedIn, okay? Well, good. It'll be a reference for you. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. A decade ago, I was on the trail of one of the country's most elusive serial killers, but it wasn't until 2023 when he was finally caught. The answers were there, hidden in plain sight. So why did it take so long to catch him? I'm Josh Zeman, and this is Monster, hunting the Long Island serial killer, the investigation into the most notorious killer in New York, since the son of
Starting point is 00:19:45 Sam, available now. Listen for free on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcasts. Hey there, Dr. Jesse Mills here. I'm the director of the men's clinic at UCLA Health, and I want to tell you about my new podcast called The Mailroom. And I'm Jordan, the show's producer. And like a lot of guys, I haven't been to the doctor in many years. I'll be asking the questions we probably should be asking, but aren't. Because guys usually don't go to the doctor unless a piece of their face is hanging off
Starting point is 00:20:14 or they've broken a bone. Depends which bone. Well, that's true. Every week, we're breaking down the unique world of men's health, from testosterone and fitness to diets and fertility and things that happen in the bedroom. You mean sleep? Yeah, something like that, Jordan.
Starting point is 00:20:30 We'll talk science without the jargon and get you real answers to the stuff you actually wonder about. It's going to be fun, whether you're 27, 97, or somewhere in between. Men's health is about more than six packs and supplements. It's about energy, confidence, and connection. We don't just want you to live longer. We want you to live better.
Starting point is 00:20:49 So check out the mailroom on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your favorite shows. We're getting a lot of texts in 785.9, too, from people saying they meet friends on these dating apps all the time. Dating apps, but you go on the friend part of the... Like Bumble BFF. Yes. You could meet friends on the dating part.
Starting point is 00:21:08 according to our listeners it's more common than you'd think should we set up a friend maybe we should set up a friend seeking profile for brook on tinder you're you up for that brooke you're so sketchy dude no how good is it going to feel to have all these people who want to be your friend and you can reject them one by one yeah or just kiss it on the forehead I'll claim I was just hiring him for my kid I swear yeah see now you get it I don't then you'll end up on some other morning show doing another second year right We're going to be here on Ryan Seacrest.
Starting point is 00:21:38 So sketchy. All of that is so sketchy. Okay. Well, it's not for everybody, but if you ever do go out on a date, please just let's save it for the dates. Yeah. We're not doing the friend match online for this segment. Yeah, if your friend's not calling you back, we don't care.
Starting point is 00:21:53 I'm sorry, that hurts more. Yeah. You know, being rejected by a friend is way more. Painful. No, if you want help, hooking up your romantic life, email the show. We'll call that person who isn't calling you back. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. In the history of this show, we've had outrageous second dates, awkward ones.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Pull your car over to the side of the road and weep into your hands while hugging your steering wheel type of date. Wow. That's intense, Jeff. We've had all different kinds. It's like a hundred car pile up on the side of the freeway of criers. Didn't know that was our fault. Sorry. Oops. Our bad.
Starting point is 00:22:31 But this, I promise you today, out of all the ones we've done this year, is probably the most memorable of the entire bunch and it all started with an unexpected situation that happened right after dinner was over and it's something we've definitely never heard before i honestly am still scarred can i say that scarred with love you're going to hear it in your extra memorable second date update happening right after this second date update when listeners submit requests for phone taps or second date updates they'll send us an email or you can also fill out like a little questionnaire on our website yeah we have like a submit for me actually go to brook and jeffrey dot com slash submit yeah that's almost too easy bro yeah if you do it there's a section on there
Starting point is 00:23:20 where we ask people to tell us a little bit about themselves so that we can get an idea of who they are and the guy on the phone today wrote in the about me section he alligator wrestles on the weekends what has a collection of inflatable blow-up dolls oh okay Used to drive submarines for Russia until they fired him when he opened a window underwater and they didn't like that. Shut up. He's joking. I don't know if he was joking. I'm just going to take him at his word for it. Please welcome disgraced Russian submarine captain Eric to the show.
Starting point is 00:23:54 Hello. Hello. Not even an accent. Eric's not a very Russian name. And yeah, I don't detect any Russian accent. You must be quite the spy now. He says Don. I mean, I get it.
Starting point is 00:24:06 Like, you'd want fresh air if you were on a submarine. Right. You know, it makes sense. That is so funny. I'm guessing some of that about me section wasn't a hundred percent true. Well, I think you can all agree. It gets a little stuffy with all the men on a submarine. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Okay. So that part was true. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Gotcha. Oh, my God. Hey, thanks for the laugh already. Like, we didn't even get you on the phone before I started laughing.
Starting point is 00:24:32 Yeah. Brooke, it doesn't laugh that hard at any of my jokes. So you should probably be in my role. But I know you wanted to do a second date update here. You went out with a woman recently? I do. Yes. I went out with a very lovely woman by the name of Dana.
Starting point is 00:24:46 And we had what I thought was a terrific date. Can I ask real quick? Did you guys meet on a dating app? We did. Does your dating app include the Russian submarine information? I don't remember whether I included that on the app. I mean, you know, I've got so many things that I use. It may have.
Starting point is 00:25:04 I don't recall. So what stood out to you about Dana? Well, there was one particular photo that I really liked. It was part of the city that's near and dear to me, and I saw her sitting there, and it just really attracted me to her. Oh, that's interesting. Like, she obviously loves something you love. Is it the sewer where you wrestle alligators?
Starting point is 00:25:22 Is that the area of the city? Well, you know what? As funny as that would be, no, really, we connected on travel as probably the main thing. Oh, okay. Wonderland. He was a fan of that, and I had a lot of photos from my travel experiences. I'm not to say I'm the around the world an 80-days guy or anything, but I've switched into a number of countries that I've enjoyed. So which country did you travel to for your first date?
Starting point is 00:25:50 Wouldn't that be cool if it was that exotic? That would be cool. Oh, my God. Or did you go simpler with it? Well, no, we went much simpler, and really, I don't want to name names. We were mostly on opposite sides of the city, and she set it up. She was willing to come toward my side of the city to a small place I hadn't heard of. Oh, she found the spot that was near you?
Starting point is 00:26:13 It was closer to me. I wouldn't say near me, but definitely closer to me. She came more than halfway to meet me. Okay, was it like a bar or restaurant? Where are we at? It was a restaurant. It was a very small, independent, Italian restaurant. Olive Garden.
Starting point is 00:26:29 Independent. It was lovely weather. We sat outside, had a glass of wine. had dinner, just rehashed some of what we had talked about and our initial phone calls. Okay. What was the vibe between you two?
Starting point is 00:26:42 I was very much attracted to her and I very much thought she was attracted to me. Okay. Based on what? What was there like a moment or like something that happened that gave you that feeling? Oh. That she was attracted to me.
Starting point is 00:26:58 Nothing. Well, perhaps, you read into this what you think, but. Sorry. She showed up. She was there and she didn't leave, so she must be at least sort of into it. A couple times when I talked, she responded. When she went to the restroom, she actually came back. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:15 There you go. Hey, look at us. I mean, I know that sounds crazy, but a lot of these second dates end with them going to the bathroom and never coming back. When will she be back from the restroom? Right. Okay. I do want to mention the moment that you ask for, and you can tell me what you think of this. That is, when it was time to leave, I had such an enjoyable time with her that we got up to leave and she was standing in front of me.
Starting point is 00:27:43 Her hair was up. Okay. And the back of her bare neck was in front of me and I just couldn't help it. I bent down and I gave her a kiss on the neck. On the back of her neck? Like she didn't even see you coming? Interesting. Did not see me coming.
Starting point is 00:27:57 That just made me like flinch my neck. As crazy as it sounds, or creepy as it sounds, she turned around and smiled. Are you sure it wasn't a cringe? Yeah. I am sure because some things happened later on. I don't want to go into detail. It was nothing that. She kissed the back of your leg.
Starting point is 00:28:17 So you started? No, not at all. He starts top, she starts down. Especially they beat in the middle. We got to know each other a little bit better. We were slightly more intimate than that. Well, maybe you did find a good. match because my gut reaction
Starting point is 00:28:32 to somebody doing that would probably be like turn around an elbow in the face or something you know it's bad when Brooke says she isn't into it because she hasn't gotten any action for years so she should be open to anything honestly lick my neck
Starting point is 00:28:46 I'm kidding I'm kidding yeah maybe that's the reason why she's not reaching back to me it's hard to think though because she she did yeah I'm assuming you're saying made out with you later Yes, that was it exactly I kissed her as tenderly as I could
Starting point is 00:29:05 And she certainly wasn't against it Okay, the more you describe your kissing The less I like it The tender neck kiss sounds like We're gonna go into as little description as possible When we call her and then we'll come back Get your second date update hopefully if she answers Can we call her tenderly?
Starting point is 00:29:21 No I don't know Okay, sorry, I think she's had enough tender stuff happened The last few hours We'll come back get your second date update right after this Hold on Second date update. You know, for our social media, I feel like we don't do quite enough to describe what's happening in these second date phone calls.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Oh, okay. Yeah, I mean, because we obviously can't have the listener on video. Right. I think we need to give people more of a visual of what happened on Eric's date the other night. So we're going to start rolling some video right here in the studio and have Brooke get up out of her seat. Wait, me? and walk around to Alexis and tenderly kiss her on the back of the neck
Starting point is 00:30:04 the same way that Eric did to Dana on his first day. This is a wine impasta. It's a friend of their Italian night. I have a feeling, Alexis, you're going to like this way more than you think you will. I don't think so, actually. We've had this request on the text for years. Lunch recently, too.
Starting point is 00:30:21 But you might go back after this happens and start kissing all of your female roommates on the back of the neck. This might be a new, like, bonding activity for you. My breath is hot, too, because I just had fried jalapinos with my meal. I've never seen this excited. I bet you can feel me coming from like four inches away. All right, here comes Brooks, doing a little saunter dance over behind Alexis.
Starting point is 00:30:44 Alexis, expose your neck to her, please. She's digging through her hair. I'm so scared. It's not going to work. It doesn't work. Too much hair. Should we get the scissors out? I'm going to let you know I'm turned off.
Starting point is 00:31:00 Oh, sorry. You're turned off? I'm so insulting. I didn't like it. Dude, your neck is kind of hairy. We tried. The girls in studio do think, though, that's the reason that Eric is not getting a call back because that was his go-to move at the restaurant.
Starting point is 00:31:15 If it was anything like what I just felt. I can't imagine being Eric and making that decision to make that happen. Eric, they're thinking that might be the reason that she's not calling you back. I certainly hope not. At the time, it seemed like the thing to do. Had you pulled that move before, or is this a first time for you? That's a good question. No, first and only time.
Starting point is 00:31:34 I couldn't help myself. I was so attracted to her. That's honestly better. Because she had bent down, leaving her neck a little bit exposed in like a shark-on-shark week. Eric swam out from behind one of the tables and just planted one on her open neck. There were no teeth involved that kind of. No tea, okay. I mean, they did make out later, so she wasn't completely turned down.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Must have been sort of into it. Those Italian wines at that restaurant must have hit pretty hard. I need some of that right now. Now we've got to call Dana. Here we go. I'm going to dial her number right now. We'll see if she picks up.
Starting point is 00:32:10 Hello? Hey, we're looking for Dana. Yes. This is a radio show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. That's why I said we. Hi. There's more people here. okay hi can I help you
Starting point is 00:32:29 yeah we're doing a segment called a second date update and we're trying to help a guy that you went out with get in touch with you again so that you guys can meet up one more time I'm not sure I'm interested in participating in this to be honest with you well maybe it will be when you find out who it is you know because as far as we've heard it was a great night at least according to Eric
Starting point is 00:32:53 Oh, my God. What? Italian restaurant, Eric? Yeah, yeah, I got it. What did you think about the date? I don't know. I mean, it was going okay. But I don't know.
Starting point is 00:33:08 After we hung out, I was kind of just reflecting on the whole date thing. And he just seems overly comfortable and experienced, like, more than I expected and more than other guys that I've met on this app have been. Experienced? Like he seems really used to dating Like he just did this all the time Like he's an adult male That's kind of nice
Starting point is 00:33:28 It's not awkward Yeah I feel like he would want somebody Who feels comfortable around you I guess I'm not describing it right I'm talking more of like a jiggle type of vibe Like
Starting point is 00:33:38 A jiggle Oh Oh like an escort What do you mean? The same Eric that we were talking about Who uses the word tender a lot Yeah so I went home and I was telling my roommate about it.
Starting point is 00:33:53 And she told me that there's this Facebook page called Are We Dating the Same Guy? Do you know what that is? Oh, yeah. Every girl is a part of this part of this. I thought you were going to say, and my roommate told me she hired him for me. What's are we dating the same guy?
Starting point is 00:34:08 So are we dating the same guy as this thing on Facebook where like it's basically mainly women and you post the picture of the guy you're dating and you see if anybody in there is also dating the same guy to see if he's like, you know, dating multiple people at the same time. Yeah. So,
Starting point is 00:34:24 see if he's a player, yeah. My roommate convinced me to post a picture on it. I was like, whatever. It doesn't seem like a bad idea. I don't know. That page seems pretty toxic. I've seen it. Alexis has shown it to me,
Starting point is 00:34:34 and it's like, it's sketch. I bet Eric came back with glowing reviews. I don't think any woman on that page says one nice thing about any dude ever. It's never like, here's the one that got away, ladies. No, no, sometimes it says I don't know him. I haven't heard anything.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Maybe nobody said anything. Did you get any responses? Any feedback? Well, the interesting response is that there were people that said that they've been out with him on dates before and whatever. But the most shocking part was that like three other women have commented saying that he kissed him on the back of the neck. And I didn't even mention it in my post. What? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:10 So one girl comments in the picture saying that she had been out with him and he does this weird, super weird, like back of the neck kiss. And then two other girls comment under that like, oh my gosh, me too. He told us that he had never used that move on any other woman before you, that you inspired him to do it. It was honestly so weird and so creepy, and it's like this is like his calling card. I love that Jeffrey's so upset like you got lied to. I do.
Starting point is 00:35:36 It's like Jeff is upset. First I find out he's not really a Russian submarine captain, and now I find out he's actually kissing multiple women on the back of the neck. What are you going to tell me next that he's secretly on the other line listening, wanting to talk to you, Dave? A spy? Because he is. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 00:35:52 Oh, he's there. What? She's having the phone. Yeah. Sorry, girl. That's how the segment works. I'm sorry, Dana. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Eric, you there? Yes. Hello, Dana. Hello. Hello. I'm here. This is so, this is almost as awkward as the neck kiss. You told us that you didn't, you didn't kiss anybody else. Is this just something you do to everyone?
Starting point is 00:36:16 No, not at all. It was, it was only you. that what we had during the dinner, I couldn't control myself. And there you were. Eric, I literally just said on the radio that three other women have said the same exact thing. Without her prompting them. Yeah. Well, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:36:37 I don't know what to say to that. All I know is I was so overtaken. Just own up to it, Eric. It's a dumb move that you use that you thought was romantic. Well, I don't think it was a dumb move. I mean, it certainly progressed a date. That's true. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:56 I mean, you didn't stick around after the neck kiss, Dana. We thought it was special. I only stuck around because I thought it was only me. I didn't know he was a serial neck kisser going around the city. Wait, you would have been okay if it was only you. It seemed like a spontaneous romantic moment. That's no. Eric, we're running out of time here.
Starting point is 00:37:15 So I'm going to give you 20 seconds to talk to. to Dana. You can tell her whatever you want to say and try and convince her that you are really into her and you want to go out with her one more time. Go ahead. Dana, I had such a lovely time with you and I know you enjoyed being with me too. Oh. Please never mind whatever else it is that you're hearing. Please give us another chance. I know if we spend some more time together that you're going to enjoy it. I really think there's something there. It's like he read a bad like sales book on like always always be closing i felt like it was anthony hopkins reading a line from silence of the lands but it's up to you dana would you like to go out with eric one more time
Starting point is 00:37:59 we would pay for that date i mean look it was a little bit weird that other girls said it but up until that point i was totally fine with it but once you got on and denied that other girls said that now you're just a creepy and a liar like now it's see bro bro bro's right she just can't It can only be one. It's a triangle thing, right? Eric, I'm sorry, man. We tried for you. And I really was hoping for a different outcome.
Starting point is 00:38:26 McSane, are you sure? Yes, I'm sure. We've stopped dating women in this town. We all know about it. You're going to have to find a new move, I think, dude. You're going to have to go for a different part of the body, maybe behind the ear or something. That's his go-to.
Starting point is 00:38:44 He's a sneak attack guy. Drop the go-toes. Nobody should have a go-to move. It's weird. Everyone kisses on the lips. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Well, gentlemen, take surprise back of the neck kiss out of your rolodex of first date moves.
Starting point is 00:40:31 Dang it, Jeff. Eric ruined it for us. Oh, Eric's the one that did it. Yeah, I picture in my mind at least like 700 men taking out a little black book, giant red marker crossing it off. I was actually thinking this, like as a bro, if one of my whole. homies and I'm like dude how was your date last night and if he said well I got a neck kiss I would be worried
Starting point is 00:40:50 I would not congratulate I mean maybe when you're kissing and you move down to it but it's like just that not the back of the neck and that's where we're starting yeah the problem with the kiss was not that it isn't sexy it's that it's too played out
Starting point is 00:41:05 Eric has done it to too many women I mean that was her issue now it's not unique anymore it's like gently brushing the hair out of a girl's face. Everybody's done it. It's not sweet. Don't touch my hair.
Starting point is 00:41:21 I don't touch my hair. I don't want to see you for a reason. Actually, stay 20 feet away from Alexis. It's the entire day. I combed my bangs down like, see ya, on purpose. I feel like Alexis would flinch. Like, ah. Yeah, yeah, she would. But even though that move is now officially not allowed anymore, no more neck kisses.
