Starting point is 00:02:35 Before we get into your back-to-back classics, we hope you're all having a great pre-Halline weekend. Be safe out there. We got Halloween week starting on Monday on our show. So lots of, lots of fun. But first comments. Yeah, Aidan Hahn said, I jammed you guys while I'm door dashing. And I laugh so hard, I miss turns and houses. So if your food shows up cold, it's our fault.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Yeah, sorry about that. Our bad, our bad. All right. Here it is. You're back-to-back classics. People tend to bond over a shared interest, something you both love. Yeah, for sure. Like a certain type of cuisine or a certain city you've both been to.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Or the same brand of restraint. Hey, hey, hey. Oh, you like the dungeon delights 3002? Wow. We have so much in common. But for one of our listeners, it was a little different. because he bonded with his date over their shared hatred of one specific thing. Oh, oh.
Starting point is 00:03:35 That's also a bonding thing. Okay, I guess. And it kept happening to them over and over again. But now she's not calling back? Hopefully she's not stuck in some dungeon delights 3,000, so she can answer her phone and give us the explanation for why in your second date update. Next. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning, second date update.
Starting point is 00:03:57 I am worried. This call might get messy. Ooh. Usually you're excited about that, Jeff. I'm worried. But I'm a little scared because Alexis, have you ever at any point dated or had a crush on a guy named Jake? That's my brother's name, so absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:04:16 That is disgusting to think about. Or someone thinks you like him? Her face looked like she smelled the worst fart in the world just said. I can tell. He broke your heart, didn't he? Oh, man. You're not even going to acknowledge that he exists. You have to try to keep your jealousy bottled up because a guy named Jake is on the phone with us right now.
Starting point is 00:04:34 And Alexis's brother, this would be awesome. I love how despite your answer you're still sticking with. And how Jeff didn't know that was my brother's name before this. We all know her brother's names, Jeff. That only makes it more tempting to her, the forbidden fruit. Jake, say hi to Alexis. Hey, what's up, Alexis? Not my brother.
Starting point is 00:04:53 See you. We're good. This is awkward. If it was your brother, he'd insult you somehow. Yeah. Jake, it was very brave of you to come on the show today. Thanks for being on. Tell us about the woman who's not named Alexis that you want us to call today.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Please stop. It's going to make me sick. It's like literally so weird. Yeah, I want to call Kim. I met her through mutual friends at a birthday rooftop party. Oh, was it like a setup between the mutual friends? Or is it just you guys both happen to be at the same party? No, no, we have mutual friends.
Starting point is 00:05:25 She just happened to be there. And we really bonded over the fact. that the music was absolutely horrible. Oh, no. Who goes to a party with bad music? No, it's when you have one DJ friend, he's like, I'm going to take over. Totally.
Starting point is 00:05:38 Was there a DJ or someone on the floor? Alexis, your jealousy is coming out with that comment. So please try and keep it under control. I see. They're playing like deep cuts. Like, what, you haven't heard this? Yeah. Okay. So I take it you didn't dance together that night.
Starting point is 00:05:50 No, I mean, it wasn't my kind of music. It wasn't her kind of music. But we really had a good time talking about how terrible it was. Yay. You know, they say people just need a common enemy sometimes to bring them together. Yeah, it's true. So tell us, how did you and Kim come to be? Well said, Joe.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Yeah. Like, was there a date, I mean? Yeah, we were talking and we were having a really good time, and I just asked her for a number. Cute. And we went to this cozy wine bar, like, new swanky thing. And the nice thing about those places, is they're, like, quiet enough to also be able to talk? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We got talking and again, the music was really bad.
Starting point is 00:06:31 Oh. Oh. How bad can it be in a wine bar? I wonder if you guys have bad taste in music at this point. Or is that just all you guys have to talk about? No, no, no, no. We talked about our most embarrassing moment. And she said that she went on the game show.
Starting point is 00:06:47 And as soon as the camera turned on, she completely froze up and was unable to do the show. Oh, no. That's rough. State fright. Did it make you want to Google or YouTube exactly what game show? I never hit the air, bro. Yeah, I don't think he made it to air. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Okay. Okay. And did you share yours? Yeah, I told her about one time I went to a party and it had really bad music. And I met a really cool girl. Hey, that is a nice move. Oh, the girls don't get it. The most embarrassing moment, that's rude, though.
Starting point is 00:07:19 I mean, like, she's not funny. I was making a joke. I was embarrassed for this guy. You're embarrassed for the DJ playing the best. Music, that's who you're embarrassed for? Yeah. Okay. I'm going to tell you, I'd be disappointed in that answer.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Yeah. I know you're trying to be funny, but it's like she just shared something vulnerable and actually embarrassing. You just did a cop out. I mean, it was a joke. You know, I was saying, you know. I mean, I get it. Were you able to recover after that moment? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Yeah. I mean, it felt like everything was all right. Okay. Well, how did it end? We got the bill. And then she insisted on going Dutch. That's good, though. Don't you like that?
Starting point is 00:07:56 Yeah. I mean, I have no problem with it. How did she insist? Did you offer to pay? And then she was like, no, I insist. Or how did that go down? Yeah, yeah. And she, like, immediately asked for my Venmo.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Like, I don't know. Maybe she's had, like, bad dates in the past where a guy expected something. I think that's, like, majority of dates. 90%. Yeah. It's not just. No, expected something in return, like, whether it's a kiss or another date or. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:08:22 I wasn't sorry. It's like, if you pay them, you don't feel pressure to have to, like, do anything. Yeah, totally. Yeah, no, I understand what you can. But I would say, like, the majority of men come off that way. Yeah, I mean, obviously, I would like something to happen, but, you know. Yeah, but that's not your intention. You're like, cool, you can pay.
Starting point is 00:08:37 I can pay. It wasn't my intention. Correct. Correct. Okay. So what's happened since then? Yeah. So we had a hug and a kiss on the cheek, and we went our separate ways.
Starting point is 00:08:47 And I texted her, like, a day or two after that just said, hey, what's up? And she answers, but, like, I can tell that, like, she's kind of just. answering because she feels obligated? I don't know. It doesn't feel like... Vibes off. Yeah, like she's really with it. Yeah, and she's not trying to plan anything else.
Starting point is 00:09:07 Yeah, like I've hinted at, oh, like, there's a game coming on next week. Like a sporting event? Yeah, yeah, like, come over to my house and, like, check out a game or whatever, you know. There's not going to be enough bad music at those games in order to attend with you. You need to find a terrible venue. Because I'd be there at my house. I think they should only go to open mics, actually. Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:29 That'll give you something to bond about all over again and hate on. So let's try and set that up for you when we come back. We're going to call Kim and try and get you a second date update with the worst music ever. Oh, my God. Pick a song, guys. Text in a request. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Reach for the sky. When you think of subpar music, maybe you picture a certain 12-year. old Jewish boy singing his original song, Reach for the Sky. Yay! I just want you to be quiet so I can hear you when you're little. I'll tell you, I'm encouraging people to touch a moon, a moon beam. Whatever the hell that means.
Starting point is 00:10:08 I like it. I can only imagine this song was playing during Jake's first date with Kim where they bonded over their mutual hatred of the awful playlist coming over the restaurant speakers. Dude, I'm pretty sure I've been to at least two birthday parties where I heard that banger. Yeah. Yeah. You got to put it on Spotify.
Starting point is 00:10:25 It's spreading. Yikes. There were highs and lows for sure, but at the very end of the night, they both agreed to split the bill. Jake ended up getting a kiss, but the problem is now Kim is acting a little distant. Even though she is answering text, it just doesn't feel like her heart is in it. I think it was like cheek kiss. I mean, it's just important to specify. No, you're right.
Starting point is 00:10:44 Isn't that right? Am I right on that, Jake? Point wear on your body, she kissed you. I mean, yeah, it was on the cheek. I mean, you know, it's what I would expect. You know what? I think a kiss on the cheek is cute because it's just like, oh, I just don't want to kiss you yet but like you're doing good.
Starting point is 00:10:59 You know what I mean? It's like a nice message. Like you don't gross me out. Yeah, yeah, you're doing a good job tonight. Maybe one day, you know. Or you gross. I don't want to touch your mouth. So I'll go right here.
Starting point is 00:11:07 That's what I think. Gross. I'll just kiss all the cheek because his mouth smells. Well, hopefully there are more kisses to come if we can do our jobs right on this. And not just cheat kisses. We'll find out. I mean, if it starts to go south, we just put your song on and she's back in the game. Oh, man. Let's hope the kiss is.
Starting point is 00:11:24 don't go too far, so. But let's just call her. We'll see if she picks up and we're going to try to do this here. Are you ready, ma'am? Yeah, man. Cool. Awesome. Here we go. Hey, is this Kim?
Starting point is 00:11:46 Yeah. Hey. Hi, Kim. Hello, Kim. Good morning. You don't have to be afraid of us. We're just a harmless morning radio show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Starting point is 00:11:57 I'm Jeff. You may know me from the hit song, Reach for the Sky. Reach for the Sky. Yeah. A.k.a. Oh, my God. Wait, you do know it? Wait, do you...
Starting point is 00:12:07 Please tell me you don't recognize that. I've heard your show before. Okay. Oh, no. That's the normal answer we get now. Oh, no, it's thank you. That's the answer. Oh, Lord.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Okay. Thank you for picking up the phone, Kim. If you're familiar with the show, then you might be familiar with our second date update segment. Unfortunately, yeah. Oh, you are. You do know them. Okay. Since you responded.
Starting point is 00:12:33 that way. Well, unfortunately or fortunately, you are part of one now, so congratulations. Welcome, Kim. Welcome to the club. Yay for me. That's right. I'm going to take that sincerely. We will, and we're calling on behalf of a guy that you went out with recently,
Starting point is 00:12:50 a guy named Jake. Oh, my gosh. What? Jake. Yeah. Yeah. It's worse than the reaction to us. I know. Which is hard. Yeah. You remember him? Yeah, I remember Jake. He seems like a really nice guy.
Starting point is 00:13:04 Because, you know, we spoke to him, but we're wondering what you thought about the date. I mean, it was like one of the nicer dates I've been on in a while. That's not what I was expecting you to say. Why are you disgusted by that? I know. It's like, ew, a girl, a guy who can take care of a girl? Ew! Why are you saying take care of her? I mean, she ended up paying for half anyway.
Starting point is 00:13:28 I just meant he chose a nice restaurant. Oh, he told you that? Then you guys went Dutch at the end? He said you insisted. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's the problem. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:13:40 What? What? The problem is that you wanted to pay for yourself? And you did? No, no. Like, not that part. Like, that part's fine. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:49 I'm talking about, like, after the day I vimmoed him for my drinks. And, like, his demo history popped up. Oh, yeah. I love looking at people's venmo history. Mine's on private. Yeah, mine's not private, but I see people all the time when I pay them. I'm like, oh. What was on it?
Starting point is 00:14:07 It was diabolical. I mean, all of these ladies, like Trish has a kissy face next to it. And then Brittany has a dress emoji next to it. And then Lisa has a gift box next to it. These are prior transactions that Jake has done, what, giving money? Yeah, these are prior transactions. He's sending these girls' money. Oh.
Starting point is 00:14:37 I thought you found the only man that was finally getting paid by ladies. Me too. I'm like, what's your trick? I see. It's the opposite. He's giving out money to a bunch of women. He's not a jigilow. I think he's a sugar daddy.
Starting point is 00:14:52 And we're not exclusive. We just, you know, it was one date. I get it. But I'm not into, you know, like guys, just dating multiple people at the same time. Wait, hold on. Are you upset that he's dating other people? Are you upset that you think he's a sugar daddy?
Starting point is 00:15:09 Like, I don't know what it is, but in the last month, it's just a ton of women. It's a ton of emojis. And to me, that makes a ton of red flags. I know. But you're also jumping to a lot of conclusions. Like, what if he's in a fantastic book club with a bunch of ladies? Yeah, that's highly likable. Or when you're bedbill businesses, they say to put random ones so that they can't be taxed.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Yeah. Oh, I didn't think about that. Because the thing is, it sounds like you never asked him about it, right, Kim? I mean, I didn't have to. It's right there. Well, yeah, but it could be interesting to hear the explanation behind those transactions. I wonder too now. And this is the perfect time to get that explanation because Jake is actually on the other line right now wanting to talk to you.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Jake, what type of book club are you in? I'm not in any book club. Oh, bro, come on. Okay, say you're sending into small businesses. Come on. Talk to Kim here. What's going on? I don't have to lie to anybody.
Starting point is 00:16:02 It is what it is. Wait. I didn't think that she would go through my Venmo history. Well, it's kind of there. Wait, hold on. You say it is what it is. What is it? Yeah, thank you.
Starting point is 00:16:13 I date a lot. I see a lot of ladies and I pay. Huh. Oh. What do you pay for? Yeah, it's not dinner if you're ventmoing them. Yeah. Because you can use your credit card, right?
Starting point is 00:16:23 Sometimes I'll pay for the pre-dinner or whatever it costs. Oh, my God. Wow, the snack before dinner. Kim, I can't believe you were right. Yeah. Yeah. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Listen, you've never said, oh, it costs me X amount of money to get ready.
Starting point is 00:16:40 I have to look good. I have to dress nice for you. We've heard on our show before. Yeah. Well, I mean, if you're over paying for, like, people, then you can pay for how I prep for this day. Because I got new foundation. I got. Oh, there you go.
Starting point is 00:16:58 Wait, you're going to get a refund now. So, Kim, Kim, you want me to pay for your stuff? now, I mean, you really were very insistent on pay. Well, I mean, before, no. You just seemed like a sugar daddy, but I mean, if you're paying for girls things, then why
Starting point is 00:17:12 not? My foundation, my mascara cost $90. Are you just trying to get revenge with the Venmo? I can't tell Kim, because, like, you pay for your drinks. You wanted to pay. Right. Don't you like the independence of paying for your own stuff
Starting point is 00:17:28 and not feeling emboldened to somebody? And Jake, by the way, I did have to get ready before I did this segment. Yeah. Well, you know, if you're... If you're all about spreading joy or whatever you said before, like, I could use a little bit of joy. The keyword is ladies, lady. Oh, okay. I can use a lady emoji when I send you the Venmo request if that makes you feel more comfortable.
Starting point is 00:17:53 I mean, you guys, get in line. I'm ahead of him. Well, okay. And you can send for my drink. Wait, do you want your 50 bucks back or do you want more than that to compensate for the other stuff? Yeah, like, how much did it really cost for you to get all dressed up and pretty for me? $90. $90?
Starting point is 00:18:10 $90? Let's just make it a nice, cool 100. Yeah. For giving her more money. Perfect. He's like buying your affection, Kim. It's not my affection. It's a lot of people's affection.
Starting point is 00:18:24 I mean, like he said, he's spreading joy. If he's doing it, he might as well take advantage. So are you not interested in him romantically? Is this just a business? Well, let's find out because Kim, we would like to offer to send you and Jake on another date. And if you say yes, we will pay for it. Do I get to be a sugar daddy then? No.
Starting point is 00:18:42 You were against this, the entire segment. You can't just change it the last minute. If I can come into the role of power, it may. Okay. All right. You're behind me and Kim in the payment line. So Kim, first with you, what do you think about Jake, giving him another chance? I'm going to say yes in the Vimmo payment.
Starting point is 00:18:59 No on the second date. Oh my God. Okay. Okay, that's actually a pretty smart business. I mean, yeah. I didn't know I was dealing with a business woman. Bro, are you going to really send it now that you know you don't have a day with her? Sounds like you met your match, Jake.
Starting point is 00:19:13 Yeah, I'm going to send it. I said I would send it. Oh, my God. Wow. Wait, does that mean Jeffrey's getting paid to? Yeah. And, bro. This hat costs 40 bucks.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Yeah, we'll just keep it like that. Yay. You're a good guy, Jake. Get out of you have. He just said yes because you're cheap, Jeffrey. Just made Alexis jealous again. No, again, my brother's name. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.

Management says I can't accept payment from listeners just because I got all dolled up for the second
Starting point is 00:21:46 date up there. Wow. And I thought you looked so good. I really, I thought so, but now apparently I have to return the money and quote-unquote show proof that I did. Oh, wow. And those pretty boy pants you thought you were going to get paid for. It's hard.
Starting point is 00:22:03 This is a rough day. Dude, how did this girl switch so fast? I guess she just wanted to get paid. She didn't want to get... Yeah. I wouldn't say the thing that rhymes with paid. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:13 Spade. Sure. Wait, that's it. It's actually the opposite. Yeah. Well, she's not alone. We're actually getting a lot of texts at 785. 92 from our listeners who want to get in line to get paid if he's still offering.
Starting point is 00:22:24 I mean, if he's like... I'm handing out free money. Like, why not take free money? But it's obviously not working for him. He's like coming to us for help. But if it makes him happy, whatever. Everybody wins. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:22:33 That's what he said. He said is his way of spreading joy. Yeah, let him spoil people. Only with hot women. Not maybe the people that need it. Again, let him spoil people. Another way to spread joy is to share our podcast. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:22:46 So go tell a friend or force a family member to listen. Spread some joy at Brooke and Jeffrey. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Becoming the best version of yourself doesn't just magically happen overnight. Yeah, that's true. It takes hard work, focus, and a distant, rich relative you never met before dying mysteriously and leaving you their entire fortune. God. So nice.
Starting point is 00:23:13 So nice. Waiting for you, Aunt Matilda. But one of our listeners found a much faster route to self-improvement. And all he had to do was change two physical things to make himself perfect. for his date. Wow. So why is he reaching out for help now? No way things possibly could have backfired on him.
Starting point is 00:23:35 We'll find out exactly what he did in your second date update. Next. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning, second date update. If your dating life isn't going well, let's say you've been single for more than a year, you've been on a dozen different first dates, but not many seconds. Where do you go? do you talk to for advice? I hope you're saying us. Definitely not us. Not first anyways. We're more of a last resort. Yeah, good boy. You're not wrong. If you hit rock bottom,
Starting point is 00:24:07 open up the door to the basement and find us down there. That's exactly what our listener, Anthony, decided. Because long before he came to us, he went to his friend seeking advice first. So I'm curious to learn more about it. Anthony, welcome to the show. Hey, guys, thanks for having me. Yeah, welcome to the lowest point of your dating career, Anthony. We are so glad to be part of it. That means that feels great. The only place for you to go is up from here. All right, that's the good news.
Starting point is 00:24:35 But let's start with hearing about your love life because you said you've been struggling a little bit lately. Yeah, I have not had a lot of success with women lately. Okay. All right. I asked a female friend of mine for some honest feedback. Oh, okay. That's good. At least it wasn't a guy.
Starting point is 00:24:50 No, but are you ready for the answer? Oh. You know, that's always the question. Because that female feedback is brutal. If you ask for honesty, you're going to get it. Okay. What did your friends say? Well, we even did a pretend date during her work lunch so she could kind of see my game.
Starting point is 00:25:06 Oh. That's kind of smart. Never heard of that. So you like role played that you were on a first date with her? That is smart. You know, we tried to do our best to recreate the real thing. That's good. Like now you're giving her the context of what you're actually like on a date.
Starting point is 00:25:21 That's a good friend. Someone willing to practice dating with you? And kiss you even? That's really cool. I didn't say that. I want to know what her review was afterwards. Overall, it was pretty positive. But afterwards, she did mention a couple of things.
Starting point is 00:25:34 All right. She said, I lick my lips a lot when I talk. I like my lips a lot too. That's interesting. I could see that being like a weird ick for some people. Totally. But at the same time, it means that she was focused hyper on your lips, the entire date. That's a pretty good point.
Starting point is 00:25:51 Yeah. So don't take it all negative. So you lick your lips too much. I do. I didn't even realize that. And apparently I use my hands too much. Is that a thing? You can use your hands too much. Like when you talk as I do. Yeah, I think we don't, all of us do that so much that we don't have the boundaries. Too animated when you talk. Yeah, animated. That's about I was going to say I'm a handsy talker, but that doesn't sound right. That's a totally different problem. So you got all that feedback. What'd you do with that information?
Starting point is 00:26:18 Well, I went on a date and I'm not sure if all of that helped or hurt. Oh. Okay. Before we get too into the details, what's the name of the girl that you met? Oh, her name is Amanda. Amanda. Okay. Where did you meet her?
Starting point is 00:26:35 I met her off of the app. All right. Okay. And it doesn't sound like you're having problem getting the dates, so that's good. Yeah, I've never had problems getting the first date. It's the second date that's been my issues. Yeah, yeah. It's something you're doing on the date.
Starting point is 00:26:48 Yeah. Right. So run us through how the date went. Well, I took her to a wine bar. Cute, nice. Sweet. Yeah, I was trying to be very body conscious. What does that mean?
Starting point is 00:27:00 You know, just based on the feedback I got from her friend beforehand. Oh, about the lip licking and hand flailing. You got the driest lips on the... Yeah, it makes mine dry thinking about it. Yeah. How are you body conscious about that stuff? Well, I was very conscious about not licking my lips. I even asked for a straw with my wine.
Starting point is 00:27:20 You went to a wine bar and asked for a straw? Did you think about bringing chapstick? Because that always stops me from doing, you know, licking my lips. Once you put it on, then you're like, okay, I'm better. Yeah, I should have thought about that. Okay. It all kind of helps.
Starting point is 00:27:33 I mean. You actually put a straw in a wine glass and drank it that way. Yeah, I was also keeping my hands down at my side. Like I was just kind of bent down and sipped it. Like a kid? Like you're drinking chocolate milk. Yeah. We don't want to get too hansy with your straw.
Starting point is 00:27:46 on your wine glass. Got it. Did you knock it over? That sounds like a terrible situation. No, no, I didn't knock it over, but I don't know if she thought it was weird. Yes. You know, I was just trying to correct what my work friend had said. Did you tell her why or no?
Starting point is 00:28:00 No, I didn't tell her why. I did ask her for help, though, because. Oh, no. Oh, how? Well, they weren't bringing the bill, and I didn't want to be waving my arms around at the waiter, so I asked her to do it instead. You had her flag down. Maybe it was a little too seriously.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Did you tell your friend that this is what you did? She would be mortified, I think, if this is how you took the advice. Listen, I was just trying to take the notes that she gave me. I know. It's sweet. It's sweet that you're trying and you're trying to improve yourself. Like, we appreciate that. And that's the thing.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Whenever you're trying to fix something, you usually tend to overcorrect on the behavior too much. Do you feel like maybe that's what happened? I definitely think I went too far the other way. I even gave her a no-armed hug, which I'm sure was awkward. Wait, what? That's weird. It's not a hug. You're just bumping into her?
Starting point is 00:28:49 You just rubbed your chest up against her? My shoulder, but yeah, it basically. In your defense, I'm sure it was the best no-armed hug that she's ever gotten in her entire life. Did she hug you back? She did, but she kind of didn't know what to do. She just kind of put her shoulder back and drove it into mine. Oh, so the feeling is mutual then. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:08 Yeah, it was not the kind of bump and uglies I was hoping for her. So what's happened since? because my guess is you're not texting or since you're not allowing yourself to use your hands. That's the only problem. No, just his nose. I just keep my phone down at my side when I do my texting, so I'm not waving them around. Oh, you're still practicing this no hands thing? No, I was joking with that.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Okay. The humor is on point. Charming. So how long has it been since your no hand wine date? Well, it's been over a week, and I haven't heard from her. So I feel like I said, like I went too far the other. the way and I need a redo. I think it's a sweet reason.
Starting point is 00:29:48 I think if you get a chance to explain why you did that. Yeah. You know, but maybe she didn't notice. Maybe it was something else that my friend didn't notice, and that's the reason she's not getting back to me. True. Could be another thing that you have to work on in your personal dating life, but we're going to find out for sure.
Starting point is 00:30:04 I hope not either. Just make sure your lips are nice and super dry to get ready to speak to her when we come back. Is anybody else looking their lips? Yes. I have like... Don't do it. Eight times right now.
Starting point is 00:30:15 Chopstick immediately. Don't do it. It's not sexy. We're going to be a sexy edition of the second date update right after this. Hold on. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update. You've heard of bear hugs, side hugs, triple person sandwich hugs.
Starting point is 00:30:33 But have you ever heard of a no-armed hug? Well, now you have because our listener, Anthony, may have invented it during his first date with Amanda. It sounds us. Kind of painful, depending on how, you know, pointy your shoulders are. It could be, but he did it because one of his female friends told him that he tends to use his hands too much whenever he talks and interacts. So Anthony was trying to overcorrect for that during his date. He definitely went to the extreme. Yes, tried to use his hands as little as possible, but most horrifying for Brooke was when he used a straw in his wine glass.
Starting point is 00:31:09 I mean, honestly. Still no hands. Still no hands, yes. I can't even believe you found a wine bar that had a straw. Yeah, good point. But he did that because he was also told that he licks his lips too much whenever he's talking. So that was the workaround to not be licking his lips the entire time. He's worried he may have overdone it, but he's brave enough to come on the show and admit his mistakes.
Starting point is 00:31:31 And you should be proud of that, Anthony. Yeah. Thanks, guys. I was thinking about it. And I think it's okay if you tell her about all of the reasons why I was doing all that stuff. Okay. Oh, okay. I think that's a really good idea, Anthony.
Starting point is 00:31:46 I think that it shows that you're a person who's open to constructive criticism, that you're willing to change. Like, I think it's all positive for you. I appreciate you guys telling her. I just, I'm not very good words, so I appreciate that. Well, neither are we. So this is going to be a disaster. Here we go. I'm going to use my hands to dial Amanda's phone number.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Oh, dude, use something else. That's all the handplay that we'll get for today. Here we go. Hey, are we speaking to Amanda? Yes, this is Amanda. Hey, Amanda. You're on a radio show right now. There's a whole room of people here.
Starting point is 00:32:28 We're called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Good morning. Hi. Hi. Yeah. Did I win something? Absolutely not. We haven't had a budget for that in a long time. Should have called us back in the 1980s, but no, we're doing a segment called a second date update.
Starting point is 00:32:47 Okay. If you haven't heard that before, it's where one of our listeners has reached out to us after he went out on a date with you, had a really good time, but he's having trouble locking down a second one. My guy named Anthony. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I went on a date with Anthony. Right. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:07 I like your tone. It sounds like you're remembering it in a positive way. I mean, kind of. Okay. Okay. Well, we figured there must be something. up because you haven't met up with him a second time and we're just trying to help Anthony figure out if there's a reason for that.
Starting point is 00:33:25 Gotcha. Okay. And he has some ideas. He does have a thought about maybe why you're not calling. You may have noticed his behavior was a little different. I mean, I think he was great. Like, the conversation was good, but, you know, there was a few things that were kind of funny. Like, he drank from a straw.
Starting point is 00:33:47 his wine. Oh my God. Did you about die when he asked the waitress for a straw to drink his wine? Yeah. I just thought that it was kind of strange, especially like on the first date. Do you know, I would have assumed because I read a tip a long time ago, like drink coffee
Starting point is 00:34:03 out of a straw and you won't stain your teeth. Like, did you have any thought as as to why not doing that? So one of my girlfriends insists that the restaurants don't clean their glasses well enough, so she always drinks with a straw no matter what. So I was like, oh, maybe it's something like that.
Starting point is 00:34:18 Interesting. It's a theory. It stands out. Yeah. Dirty wine glasses does explain a lot of Brooks' odd behavior. That would make sense. Yeah, I didn't ask, though.
Starting point is 00:34:28 I didn't ask him about it. Okay. How do you get that oaky flavor if it's all washed off, you know? I get it. You like the natural tree flavor. So is that all that you notice, the straw in the wine glass?
Starting point is 00:34:40 Yeah, I mean, and then also just like his texts, I could tell that he was not being genuine. It was like almost like he put it into chat GPT. Oh, yeah. Wait, before, after the date, I'm guessing? Beforehand, it didn't seem like that, but
Starting point is 00:34:53 afterwards it seemed like that. Yeah. And I can't be sure of it, but I just, I've used chat GPT enough. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, when my first talk in there are Teslas, though, it does that. It does periods after every sentence. When you talk out loud
Starting point is 00:35:05 and talk out loud. I know, but there's just like a cadence to it. Like, we used to have a sales guy who would send all of his emails via chat GPT, and they're so cheesy and awful. So you're upset because you think that he's been using chat GPT to help write messages to you. Yeah, I mean, I'm not upset, but I'm just like really turned off by that because it's like,
Starting point is 00:35:24 I want someone to have deep conversations with me, not like an AI boyfriend. You can order those actually, but I don't know that. That's really funny. I mean, when we talk to him, it's really funny that you say that because he did mention before we called you that he wasn't very good with words. So maybe it's just something where he didn't think his message was good enough, you know? Let's give him a chance to try to use his words because he actually is on the other line of this phone call waiting to jump in and speak with you. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:35:54 Hey, Amanda. Look at that. I'm sorry. Yeah. Oh, she's sorry. I know. You guys are so nice. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:02 I just feel bad because I feel like I'm, I just, I don't, I feel bad that I said that, but it's true. Well, is it true? We don't know that. Oh, yeah. I'm not going to deny it, but there is an explanation. Oh. Ooh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:16 So you have been using ChatGPT. What's going on? I have, but you're not going to believe this. I was one of the inventors of ChatGPT, so in a way those are my words. No way. Hasn't it been around for a long time. This is Chad from Chad GPD. Anthony, Chad GBT works by taking everything on the internet, essentially, and learning from that.
Starting point is 00:36:45 Did you just event like a part of the technology or something? What are you talking about? Yeah, I did. I did help invent it. So your justification is that because you helped do the codes for chat GPT, chat GBT is actually using your words. I mean, essentially, yes. Well, I mean your words a lot, brother.
Starting point is 00:37:06 Yeah, I'm sorry. Yeah, thank you. Wouldn't you be so rich? Yeah. I mean he's not rich? How do we know he's not rich? I don't know. He's calling us for help. Like, don't real rich people don't listen to us.
Starting point is 00:37:17 Don't real rich people like have assistants to do stuff. Okay. Anthony, how do you feel that Brooke just insinuated that you're broke? I didn't say broke. There's somewhere in between, Jeff, you know. You're not like I invented chat GPT rich. How do you know? I just, I don't know. You keep letting it on thick to Anthony. Anthony, feel free to respond. I can neither confirm nor deny, but I can. I can at least say that I have not had luck with second dates, and that's why I came to you guys.
Starting point is 00:37:47 But don't women throw themselves at you when they learn, like, that you're the founder, like one of the founding people of ChatGPT? I don't normally tell people that because they never believe me. Girls Google every guy's name, they go out. Watch out. They'll find out. Okay. I mean, I have no reason not to believe you.
Starting point is 00:38:07 It's more about Amanda. Amanda, what do you think hearing that? Good point. I mean, I'm also having trouble believing it. You don't think he's telling the truth? It's one of those like gambles that you want to take, right? Like, what's the worst that can happen? Oh, Al!
Starting point is 00:38:20 Chad GBT, if he's a founder of Chad GBT. Does it even change anything? Like, how petty are we? If he is a billionaire or he's not, do you like it? I don't even date for money and a billionaire changes everything. Okay. Listen, I never said I was a billionaire and you guys are making this all about money. That's my point.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Does she like you for you? Yeah, I did like the wine date. That was nice. Okay. I mean, that's real Anthony, face to face. Yeah, he didn't ask me to split the bill, so maybe he did start chat. I don't think that means that either. Maybe he is rich.
Starting point is 00:38:55 Okay. He's got enough for dinner. I feel like there's enough here that you'd want to go out and just see what's up. Yeah. Do a little investigation to find out what he really does for work. And if you're willing to see him one more time, we would pay for that date, Amanda. I mean, I'm definitely going to Google him to see if he's telling the truth. Okay, that's okay.
Starting point is 00:39:15 I would go on a second date. Okay. I didn't work on Google, so I don't know what that one's going to say. Oh, yeah. You can never trust them. They're not trusting him. Yeah. Okay, AI mode.
Starting point is 00:39:25 But you did agree to another date, so this is successful. Anthony. Oh, maybe AI stands for Anthony intelligence. Hey, there we go. Anthony, is that true? I can back to confirm nor do not. I do want to confirm, though, that I don't actually drink wine through a straw. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Yeah, that's true. Yeah, we'd ever explain that to her, Anthony. Yeah, and she actually didn't mind. I mean, she noticed. Well, we can talk about all that on our next date. It'll be a fun story. Hey, all right. And just wait until you see what he can do with his hands, too.

Are they not rich enough for you, Alexis? I wasn't here, so it's been a long time since we don't know that they still listen. And it was the kids. Like, Bill and Melinda never came in. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:42:30 Kids, you don't count as being rich. I guess you're right. I got hung up on the money aspect of it. Which is not something I typically do. You do, and how dare you shame all of our billionaire listeners all over the world? I want them to know that, hey, I see you, and I am available for whatever, wherever. Okay. Prices are listed on my blog.
Starting point is 00:42:50 You will find I will do almost anything. Jeff wants a millionaire.com. Oh, billionaire. Billionaire. Sorry, my bad. Overall, though, I will say I am happy that Anthony was able to pull out another date. But if we do find out later that his friend suggested to tell you. the girl that he's some sort of AI mogul.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Obviously it works. So, tusha, Anthony. Well done. I just want an update so I can find out if this is true or not. Me too. Because you can't ask chat GPT. Who knows what that's going to say? Maybe listeners can do some sleuthing for us and tell us if they can find an Anthony who created a code. Yes. AI always lies to you.
Starting point is 00:43:23 That's true, too. And while you're doing your research, go research our show wherever you get your podcast. We're available, Apple, Spotify, wherever you find them.
