All right, you're here on Saturday, which means you get a back-to-back Classics episode. Thank you so much for joining us on the second date podcast, the official one. And good luck to Argentina and to Spain, or am I allowed to say that, Alexis? I know. I'm,
Starting point is 00:03:09 you know, I'm Team Argentina here. I have been, my friend has had me sat. I have had to read and learn the lyrics of all their chance right now. Let me tell you, there's a new one every game. Are you learning them in Spanish or in English? Both. I have to know the translations. Apparently to really understand the meaning. I see. But I just know the rhythm right now. Okay. I'm kind of just more like Who are you read for? I'm going for Spain. I like it. I love it.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Let's go Spain. Let's go World Cup. Yes. Well, I picked this comment before I realized it's not from either of the countries we're talking about. But Serena Tucker said, I live in Tahiti. It's in the Pacific Ocean. And next to Bora Bora. I've also lived in Bora.
Starting point is 00:03:43 And Brooke, if you ever come to Tahiti, please let us know. Oh, just Brooke, apparently. Thanks, Serena. I'll book a trip now. Not a way, kidding me? Yeah. That sounds glorious. And to have a local to be able to show you around.
Starting point is 00:03:55 That's what I'm talking about. We're not invited. Yeah, come on. Let me talk about it more. All right, let's get to these back-to-back classics right now. All it takes is one innocent question from a stranger to totally ruin the vibe on a first date. For example, if your waiter looks at you dead in the eye and says, wait, aren't you that guy from the hemorrhoids commercial? I mean, it's not good, even though you are famous.
Starting point is 00:04:23 I was a professional actor. And I was really good in that commercial. Still, it's you, Jen. Not a good look. One of our listeners says a deafening silence happened after an awkward question from their waiter, and now she's not getting a call back after. You're going to hear what it was in your second date update right after this. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning, second date update.
Starting point is 00:04:46 You know, in all the years that we've done this segment, we've had a few listeners call up saying, I know that we only hung out once, but I'm pretty sure they're the way. one. Oh my gosh. We've had other people say, I am ready to marry this person right now. Yeah, that's not a red flag at all. On the phone. Yeah, that's a little too much. Yep. But rarely do we have people email and tell us, I want a date, even though I'm not 100% sure, I really want to go out with them again. Okay. Well, I mean, even if they don't tell us, most of them are thinking that. You know? Sure, but it's a little bit confusing to me. So we're just going to get the listener on the phone who said that to us today. Her name is R. Welcome to the show.
Starting point is 00:05:26 You do realize this is second date update and not second date. Maybe I don't know. We'll see how I feel by the end of the call, right? Hi, yes. I do understand. Okay. So you're committed here. I mean, are we just calling this person because they rejected you?
Starting point is 00:05:38 Like, let's be honest for a second. No, it's not even like that. Like, I like this guy. Okay. Well, tell us a little bit about him. What's his name? How'd you meet? So his name is Victor.
Starting point is 00:05:50 I met him online, and he really looked so nice. a really nice beard. Oh. I'm so jealous of a dude. I love a good beard. It's just. Jeff, looking at you.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I know. Of course, she brought it up because I'm in here. That's not what I met, Jeff. You looked at him when you said it. I know the winks were a little bit
Starting point is 00:06:09 aggressive, but that's okay. Okay, God. Anyway, so uncomfortable. Clearly you're not alone, Ari, so good beard stuck out to you.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Yeah. Yes. It was really nice. So we went on three days. Three? Three. Hey, you're already breaking the rules.
Starting point is 00:06:23 That's the second date update. So now, there's a fourth date update actually today. Wow. Okay. Well, listen, the first two, they went really well, okay? What did you do? Just real quick, are you doing coffee or what? So the first day, we showed up and matched an outfit first.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Oh, wait. On purpose? No, this was like, it was an accident. That's so funny. Was it like jeans in a plain t-shirt or like something crazy? That's true. Yeah, floral prints. It was like white top, brown bottoms, and white shirt.
Starting point is 00:06:53 No, but like couples will dress a life. Oh, that is good chemistry. Yes. You can actually have the same sense? You're on the same way, like. That's what I thought. The room thinks this is a good thing. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:04 What were you doing for your date? Oh, so, like, we just went for a drink. Okay. It was a really good time. So he's like, look, let's pick up for our second one, right? So we did something fun again, just drinks, nothing too heavy. Okay, so you basically went on the same date twice. The same good date twice.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Just with different outfits both times. Yeah. Unless you guys decided to wear the exact same one for date number two again, because the first one went so well. How am I going to find you in the restaurant? We were just wearing different clothes on that second. Oh, okay. Okay, so that one obviously went well because there was a third date, right?
Starting point is 00:07:41 Yeah. Yeah, so we decided to go a little more upskill for the third date. Oh. That's the right timing. We did dinner at this fancy restaurant. It was really nice. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:54 So how to date three go once you got to this nice restaurant? So, like, I had got there first. And in order, you know, to get seated, you have to have a credit card on file with the host. So I put my credit card down so he wouldn't lose the table. Okay. You know, he was running a little late. Okay. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 00:08:11 That's nice. Well, that's not nice that he's late. That's a bad move. Oh, I mean, it's a third date. Like, things happen, right? Like, maybe he got caught at work or something? Was it super late? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:20 So, four hours later when he finally showed up. How did it go? No, it wasn't that late. It was like he was about like 15 and 20 minutes. Okay. So you're still feeling good. Yeah, everything is fine. And then like the bill comes and the waiters like, hey, should I just go ahead and run the credit card that's on the file?
Starting point is 00:08:39 Oh, that's your card. Yeah. What happened? Well, like, he's just looking like stupid. The waiter or Victor your day? I think Victor. Victor. Because he's probably confused.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Is he confused or is he trying not to hear it? Like, I don't know. He's making it awkward because he's very, like, hesitant. And he knows that my card is on fire. Yeah. He does know. He's defaulting to you, I guess, to be like, it's your card. You get to make the decision.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Did you pay for the last two dates? Because then I could kind of see it. Oh, that's a good question. He paid for them, but, I mean, he's the guy. So. Yeah. Traditional guys would go, oh, no way. Give me that bill.
Starting point is 00:09:21 After a few dates, it's different. You know, like that you date, like, and she's the one that put the credit card down, I would think that you're telling me that you're wanting to pay. So what happened? So because things is just so weird and awkward and the waiter just standing there looking at both of us, I'm like, well, just go ahead and run my card. Okay. Once the waiter walked away, he's just like, well, your card is already on file, so, you know, we should just make it less of a headache for the waiter. He didn't say thank you? No.
Starting point is 00:09:51 Oh. And the bill was over $200. Oh, what? It's a nice place. Oh, okay. But I'm like, whatever. I'm like, I'm not tripping about it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:02 But like after that day, we haven't really been talking as much. Like, at first I felt like he's really putting a pressure on me and keeping in contact. I'm like, when I'm going to see you again type of thing. But like since that day, everything slowed down a lot and I really don't know why. Oh. Okay. Well, that's weird because you pay. Like, it feels like...
Starting point is 00:10:22 Yeah. So going back to the beginning of this call, is that why you were saying, because of the whole Bill's situation, maybe you're not 100% sure you really want to see him again for another date? Yeah. And if he doesn't want to see me again, I feel like he needs to run me my money. Like, he needs to pick her half of the date. Dang.
Starting point is 00:10:44 Oh, wow. His half. Okay. He should have been. It's easy. I don't know. Seriously. You can't say that.
Starting point is 00:10:50 If like a guy can't come back and say you didn't go out with me again. I mean, if you're never going to see him again, what's the harm in asking? You know? Alexis, if a dude asks you that, you'd be so upset. But I would do it because I can't say no. But if he says yes, then you don't care about the bill situation. Oh, God. If he say yes, I don't care because it's like we'll probably go to more fancy restaurants and then he'll be.
Starting point is 00:11:12 All right. Well, we're going to see how this goes when we call Victor to get you your second date update and maybe half of your money back. Hey, debt collectors. Right after this. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second Date Update. We're in the middle of a second date update. And if this doesn't go well with Victor,
Starting point is 00:11:29 we may need to go full Godfather on him. Oh, that's the music. I see. Wait, I haven't seen these movies. Explain. It's Jeffrey from the second date update. I'm going to make you an offer you can't refuse. That's pretty good, Jeff.
Starting point is 00:11:43 Either you pay the nice woman, or we can make it real uncomfortable for you. and send you a gift card to Applebee's with half of the balance gone kaput. Oh, God, Caput. It's actually the worst thing that we could do in this situation.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Give a half-use gift card to somebody. It's just disrespectful. Do you have an old Italian monster living inside your body? Why is that actually good? I'm not going to tell you where am I thought is that. We can't really threaten Ari's date here, but if he says he does not want to see her again,
Starting point is 00:12:17 Ari wants to ask him to pay her. her back for half of the bill from their final date because it was at this nice upscale restaurant he kind of stuck her with it yeah so kind of it was a little awkward like don't you think arey that he thought you wanted to pay absolutely not he should have never thought that oh you showed you disrespect and it's not okay okay we hyped you too much you lost it in that one I think you need the music yeah that's right yeah that's right We're going to call Victor here. Hopefully we can avoid all of that.
Starting point is 00:12:52 And he just says, yes, he would love to see you again. It's all a big misunderstanding. But I'm going to dial his number right now. Here we go. Hey, is this Victor? This is Victor. How are you doing? Oh, you're so polite.
Starting point is 00:13:14 I'm good. I'm good. I'm good too, Victor. Thanks for asking. What about you, Alexis? I don't think he cares. Oh, yeah. Sorry to confuse you, but you're on a radio show right now.
Starting point is 00:13:26 Okay. About what? For what you said? It's about one. It's about comedy. Good question. How do you feel about us setting you up on a hot date with a sexy woman that you've already been out with multiple times? Why did your voice get deeper and deeper?
Starting point is 00:13:42 Because I wanted it to sound enticing. All right. I'm interested to tell me more. All right. Okay, perfect. Because there is a woman who has gone through us to reach you and her name is Ari. Oh, yeah. I remember her here.
Starting point is 00:13:58 I hope so. You guys went on three dates together. Yeah, we went on a couple days together. We had a good time. Okay. Okay. So this is sounding positive. We're trying to help Ari feel this out and get a vibe of where your relationship with her is at.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Not that it's a relationship, but just she wants to see more of you, and it hasn't happened, and she's not sure why. It feels like the momentum has stopped. A little bit, yeah, but I'm going to explore my options. I mean, I'm new to the cities. I wanted to, you know, date a little bit, so I want to see who's in the city. Oh. But she's still, you know, in the fold. She's still in the fold.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Okay. And of course you're not going to tell her that. Like, hey, sorry, I'm not. I'm going on a lot of dates. Yeah. Yeah, of course. Of course not. I mean, you're allowed to do.
Starting point is 00:14:40 How many women are in the, are in your fold? I've been on maybe two other dates probably. Oh, that's not too bad. Okay. That seems normal. So you're not completely cutting her out. It's just you're also opening yourself up to other possibilities. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:55 Well, like I said, I was where my options is in the city. You're scout at the roster. Huh. Got it. Maybe it gives a little bit of clarity. It doesn't feel great to deliver that news to her. Yeah. Because what we do have to deliver it.
Starting point is 00:15:08 I mean, this is the awkward part. Yeah. Victor, the part that you might not know about this is that Ari is actually already on this phone call, listening, waiting to talk to you. You make this phone call right now? Yeah. Yeah. That's what I meant when I said this call.
Starting point is 00:15:23 Oh, okay. So, yeah. It's like a session. I've seen the damage right now in his head. I think you're okay. But let's ask Ari, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Hey, Victor.
Starting point is 00:15:34 Hey, Ari, how are you doing? I'm doing great, but, yeah, like, I heard everything that you said. Yeah, so, like I said, we went on a couple days, had a great time. I'm still new to the city, so I'm exploring my options, seeing what's out there. Okay, you're going to say it again. Yeah, like you already said that. You keep saying it over and over, nervous or something? Yeah, he does.
Starting point is 00:15:56 I'm not nervous at all. Oh, you're not nervous. No. Okay. Well, you should be. You should be nervous because I'm not with none of that. Like, I'm not part of your starting lineup, buddy. I don't know what you think we got going on here.
Starting point is 00:16:07 But, like, we've been on three dates. So you should have, like, some type of idea, like, whether you want to take this further or not. I don't care about you being new to a city. Like, I'm not one of your little flings. I don't move like that. I mean, how many dates does it take for you, Victor, to decide whether or not, like, it's the real. deal with somebody. I don't have to answer that. I mean, it takes the amount of time it takes me to fill a person out, so I'm going to
Starting point is 00:16:33 answer that. In my case basis. I'm trying to help Ari. She just feels like she's waiting forever. Well, she don't know about forever. I think she's just saying three days you need to know. Come in the names of the girls you've been, damn, who are they? I might know. Names. Nope, never do names. Never show Instas either. Okay. You're going to hear your own feelings. Maybe just addresses or something. What a welcome to our city. We're really nice here.
Starting point is 00:16:56 I promise. We got a lot of people to date. The dating scene is totally cool. Victor, you're not saying anything. What are the girls' name? I don't need to tell you that information. That's my information. Like I said, I'm exploring once in the city.
Starting point is 00:17:09 I had a great time with you. You're saying it again. He's like reading the script at this point. I feel like that's a BS excuse. I feel like that's a BS excuse. Oh, that's interesting. Because he can't stop saying that. Do you think that he's just trying to cover?
Starting point is 00:17:23 Like maybe he just doesn't like you that much or something, all right? I don't mean it in a mean way. You may be trying to be nice. Yeah. Yeah, or maybe he just wanted a free meal that night because I paid, remember? Oh, I knew this was coming out. Because you don't want to, like, you don't really care to, like, going on the date or whatever. I'm fine with that.
Starting point is 00:17:41 You need to go ahead and pay me up half for that dinner. So you need to go ahead and, like, memo me half of that bill. I have to receipt if you need me to text you a picture of it. And you could split it down the middle and send me your half. Okay, I can say the same thing for you. I pay for the drinks for the first. first two dates, so why don't you send me that money back, too? Drink and they're two different things, honey.
Starting point is 00:18:02 Drink and a whole steak meal appetizer. You had a four-course meal. You had four lemon drops from the first date. Four. Damn, that's a headache. And that's a classy drink, too. I appreciate that she's doing all the work for us. I got to have the sugar on the rim, too.
Starting point is 00:18:19 Do you see the point here? It's okay if you're asking, but not okay if he's asking. Oh, no, it's definitely okay if I'm asking. asking he's a man. A real male wouldn't even let me pay you should have pulled out your credit card. Let's start there. I mean, the reason why you pulled your credit card
Starting point is 00:18:35 is because I got there late, I was stuck in a little traffic getting there. But at the same time, I mean, I thought you were paying for dinner because I paid for the drinks on the first two days. So it seemed like it was fair. But you didn't even say thank you afterwards. I'm sure I said thank you afterwards.
Starting point is 00:18:48 He had a little, you know, situation in the parking lot afterwards. I gave her a nice little kiss, said thank you and kept it moving. A kiss is a thank you, isn't it? No. No. No.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Depends. Absolutely not. Running me, my money back would be a thank you. Okay. I don't think she's going to drop it, Victor. She's pretty strict. She wants the money back. So do you want to give your Venmo out right now?
Starting point is 00:19:08 No, do it all fair. No, I'm not giving my Venmo out. Are you sure? Okay. Well, I guess what? This city isn't that big? I'll see you around, buddy. Oh, that's a threat.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Oh, Godfather. Godfather, we need you. They'll make an offer. He was unprepared. All of God. No, this is not enough. Sounded like the godfather having a stroke, Jeff. What?
Starting point is 00:19:30 We got all the breadsticks that you can put in your mouth if you're willing to go out. Oh, you're asking. One more time and that we on our tab. Victor, you want to go out again? Ari, it was nice to me and you, but I'm never paying you that money back. Oh. Oh, God. Okay, that's fine.
Starting point is 00:19:49 That's cool. I'm not going to trip. But hey, ladies, Victor, don't date him. Because if you do, we're going to have to break some kneecaps. Hey, whoa. That got too dark. Too quick, Jeff. Go back to the breadsticks.
Starting point is 00:20:05 Maybe we'll see you, too, on Small Claims Court on Judge Judy, all right? Good luck. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. You've heard the chaos. Now you can see it. Hello. My gosh. Watch all your favorite podcasts from start to finish, right inside the free I-Hurt

If you are currently dating Victor, we want to meet you and set you up for another second date update. And first and last name, please.
Starting point is 00:21:49 I feel like with Victor's list, this is just going to be Victor's update update. I do. I want to call him again. Do all Victor updates all next week. And he's like, you guys again. Okay. And he ends up single at the end is how I predict it. It's fun for us. And make sure you go to Brooke and Jeffrey, wherever you get your podcast, you can find all of our second dates there.
Starting point is 00:22:09 And of course, thanks for listening. Yeah, seriously. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Ladies, if your goal is to meet an attractive. high quality man who's also wildly successful, where do you go to find that? Yes. Does it exist? I think you just sit there and they find you, bro.
Starting point is 00:22:33 Oh, that's what it is. That's the dream. But one of our listeners says she discovered a place swarming with career-driven, stable men. And her very first visit got her a date. Yo. So she's willing to tell us where that secret spot is in experience. exchange for our help getting him back on the phone.
Starting point is 00:22:52 We got a helper now, Jeff. So ladies, get ready to take notes. Fellas get ready to go there and pretend to be successful. Because it's all happening in your second date update. Next. Brook and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update. We've been talking about it a lot this summer.
Starting point is 00:23:10 It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. How people are moving away from the dating apps and trying to meet more in person now. Well, and like summertime is such a time for it, you know? Get out, you're back, you're feeling good. Everyone's a little bit tan. Yeah. But if you're a female, where do you go? Basically anywhere outside of your own house?
Starting point is 00:23:32 I was confused. And even that's probably a reach. There's a few guys who are probably living in your walls waiting for you to say, no, it's okay. You can come out now. I'm ready to be seduced. Hey, ceiling, man. I've been wanting a date.
Starting point is 00:23:43 Oh, finally. God, I've been in here for five months. But one of our listeners, Denise, says she decided a few months ago to switch up her strategy to get offline and hoping to meet a high profile man. So I'm very curious to hear where she ended up going to do that. And I think a lot of our female listeners are going to know too. So Denise, welcome to the show and tell us where'd you go to meet this guy? Hey, so I met this guy at the golf course.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Oh, brilliant. That's smart. Okay. Do you like golf? Or is this like you are learning just for the dudes? It's your strategy. You know, I'm just doing it just to meet the guys. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Okay. And the worst thing that happens is you pick up a new hobby. Yeah. You know, you get a little sunshine. Exactly. All right. Okay. How did this even happen?
Starting point is 00:24:32 How did you come with the idea to start going to the golf courses? I was watching a video on Instagram, I believe. And one of the influencers said that businessmen and executives like to golf. Dude, you guy. I've been told as a woman, if you want to succeed in business, you need to learn how to play golf so that you don't miss out on those meetings. I've heard that bad at the golf course. And did you tell whoever told you that? I don't need to be told how to live my life as a woman.
Starting point is 00:24:58 I'm an independent person and I can do what I want and hang out with who I want. No. Oh, I thought it was a good piece of advice. Oh, you liked that. I mean, he's like, I'll find him at any bar I want. Okay. I don't have to go to the golf course. All right.
Starting point is 00:25:10 So you saw the video and you decided I want that. Yep, I need a man who is very well paid, high class. He takes this career seriously. Okay. So who did you find on the golf course? Well, I actually met a guy named Franklin. Okay. Franklin sounds like a rich name.
Starting point is 00:25:31 It kind of does. How did you meet him? Did he come up and help you with your swing? I mean, it is a good, easy thing to do. I don't know how to play. Or hit him with a golf ball in accident. Oh, nice. Alexis.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Like a light hit. Sure. How did it happen? Funny enough, golf courses, you don't just have to play golf. They have awesome clubhouses and bars, and that's where I met him. Okay. Were you ever actually playing the game or were you just hanging out with the bar? I was on the putting green for at least an hour.
Starting point is 00:26:07 Oh, okay. That's the free part, I think, that you don't have to pay for. I like it. That's smart. That's smart. And they don't see if you bring your own cans on that. Oh, okay. Tell us about how the interaction between you and Franklin went.
Starting point is 00:26:19 Well, over a couple of drinks, he told me that he owns a string of car washes. And I think that's pretty cool. Yeah, it is. And he pretty much asked me out. So I must say, the golf course strategy works. Nice. I like it.
Starting point is 00:26:35 Okay. Hold in one. I don't like it anymore. You don't like that? Yeah. Okay, fine. Brooke would say that after you get to snowboard? Yeah, eagle.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Boogie me. All right. We got it. We can do five minutes of golf puns or we can learn more about what actually... Let's learn more about what happened. So after this, Denise, did you at Franklin go out on a date? Yeah. Well, he took me to a really nice restaurant.
Starting point is 00:27:01 Nice. The date was great. The vibes were super awesome. Okay. And I've been thinking why I haven't heard from him since. Yeah. And I think the one thing that may have turned him off, because, you know, I'm sort of specific on how I eat. Oh.
Starting point is 00:27:21 I like to bring my own silverware. Interesting. To the restaurant? Yes. Why? Okay, hold on, like chopsticks? I can see that. I know people that bring chopsticks with him, like if they want it.
Starting point is 00:27:31 No, like my fork, you know, my knife. Why do you do that? sometimes you can see that it's not washed properly and people are putting the silverware in their mouths. Okay, it's a sanitary thing for you. I could see that. For me, I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I just bring my own silverware. Okay, so at a nice restaurant, you pull out silverware from your purse. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Which is obviously a clean place to keep it, so that's good. Well, I protect my underwear. I wrap it up really nice. Okay. I put it in a container. Wait, so what was his reaction? action when you did this? It wasn't all that
Starting point is 00:28:09 great, but after I explained myself, it seemed like he was okay with it. Yeah, kind of like us. Like, we were like weird and then you explained it and I was like, okay, I guess you got to think. Did you bring a fork in a knife for Franklin to use or was it just for you? Because that could be seen as kind of
Starting point is 00:28:25 selfish. It was just myself. I didn't want to keep him out too much. Yeah. So it sounds like Franklin was able to understand why you do it and you were able to passed it, how did the rest of the date go? It went pretty well. I mean, at the end, I thanked them for the date.
Starting point is 00:28:41 We hugged and we said we'll talk to each other soon. Dude, it's so funny. I imagine you wrapping up your utensils as you're doing your pleasantries. Excuse me? Excuse me? Yeah. All right, I got to take these home. I mean, honestly, to the wait staff, it probably looks like you're stealing this stuff.
Starting point is 00:28:57 You know, I didn't even think of that. Yeah. Okay. Well, that could be something that's happening. But clearly, he's not calling you back. And I'm sure he's going to be thrilled when he learns that a radio station is reaching out to him trying to get in contact. People love that. Especially high class people.
Starting point is 00:29:13 Yeah. I'm not ready to let him go yet. Okay. I think you're going to do whatever it takes. Or if it doesn't work with you guys, I'm just going to have to go back to the golf course. Okay. And Alexis might want to go with you. No, I want to hit every one of his car washes until we find him.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Oh, Mark. All right. It's the middle one. Yeah, I like it. We'll get some stuff done when we call him and get your second date up. update right after this. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update.
Starting point is 00:29:40 It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning and right after part one ended, we got reports that thousands of single women have been flocking to the local golf courses, attempting to meet high profile men. All right. That was the strategy our listener, Denise used. She heard a lot of businessmen and executives go there to hang out. It's a good place to meet guys. And that's where she met the Car Wash King.
Starting point is 00:30:05 a guy named Franklin. Yeah. They hit it off, went out to dinner. The weird part of dinner was she brought her own silverware to the restaurant. Yeah. But she knows it's weird. She didn't know that. And it's still high class because it's not a plastic fork and knife.
Starting point is 00:30:20 Like I would have pulled for my purse. And she has a decent excuse. Yes, but it's a cleanliness thing for her. She explained it to Franklin. And even though he seems cool about it, he still may have thought this is a little bit too much of a high-maintenance situation. And that could be the reason. He's not calling her back.
Starting point is 00:30:36 Which is silly because it's not like you asked him to bring the silverware for you. That would be the high maintenance part, right? Good point. Exactly. Okay. Any last thoughts before we give Franklin a call here, Denise? Nope. I'm ready when you're ready.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Okay. You said real positive about this. All right. Let's go around the room. Who's ready? I'm ready. We're all ready. I mean, she's confident because she knows she can just go back to the golf course.
Starting point is 00:30:59 Yeah, there's plenty to pick from. She actually likes this guy. Yeah, that's true. Yeah. So let's just dial Franklin. Here we go. I'm calling him right now. Hey, is this Franklin? Yes, it is. How can I help you?
Starting point is 00:31:19 Hey. Thanks for answering. We're a radio show. We're called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Hey, Franklin. Good morning, Franklin. Are you busy right now? A little bit. How'd you get my number? We actually got it from one of our listeners who asked us to reach out to you. It's kind of the point of this segment. We're trying to see if you can get the two of you back together. A girl named Denise.
Starting point is 00:31:40 What is this all about? This is a segment that we do. It's called the second date update. And Denise reached out to us. She told us to get a hold of you because she isn't sure why the two of you aren't hanging out again a second time. Yeah. Sounds like you had a great date. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Are you laughing? What does she tell you? Okay. Huh. Okay. You just want to get right down to business, but that makes sense about you. We heard you're a business guy. True.
Starting point is 00:32:09 I am. Time is money. Oh, okay. Sorry. Business guy with cliches. We won't keep you too long then, but the gist of what we heard is that you two met at a golf course. You ended up going out to dinner a few days later. It sounds like you took her to a really nice spot, which she loved.
Starting point is 00:32:27 It's funny. She told you all this. Yeah, well, we're just trying to figure out like the idea, the general vibe of the date. And she did mention a weird thing that happened that maybe could have freaked you out a little bit where she brought her own silverware to the restaurant? Yes. That wasn't usual. What did you think when she pulled it out of her purse?
Starting point is 00:32:47 I didn't really know what to say when that happened. Hopefully she didn't pull the knife out first because that would be weird. Like, whoa, what did I do? We're at a steakhouse, right? She did take out of fork first. I said something along the... I don't remember exactly what I said because I was so surprised. Yeah, I mean, if I was in your same situation, I wouldn't know what to say either,
Starting point is 00:33:06 yeah, honestly. He explained it. And it did make a certain kind of sense. I mean, on a certain level, I'm a neat freak as well. So I kind of get it. Okay. I mean, it is funny that she doesn't care about the plate or the glass or anything. But I get it.
Starting point is 00:33:20 But she was worried that maybe that was the reason that you're not calling her for a second hangout. Is that true? Here's the thing. I just don't know if it's a good match. Because of the silverware? She came across. The silverware is one thing, but she did come across as like, I guess the term I'm looking for is a little. High maintenance, I guess.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Oh, that's different. What made you say, like, she's high maintenance? What specifically stuck out to you? The thing that really stuck out was she ordered pot stickers, I guess, for the appetizer. Yikes. When they arrived to the table, she asked the waiter if the pot stickers were made from land meat. Land meat? Huh?
Starting point is 00:34:03 What does that mean? That's a weird way to put it. Land meat. Like seafood, land food? That doesn't sound high maintenance. That's just a weird question. She explained to me that a land meat is meat from an animal that has never touched water. Oh.
Starting point is 00:34:17 Oh, and it's life? Which was confusing to me because she didn't elaborate. So I'm thinking like, does that mean it's not fish? Or is this specifically something where the animal has never, like it's a pig that's only been in the slop? Is it a chicken that's never been bathed? You know, like I did. That is. Never been in a pond, a duck.
Starting point is 00:34:35 And then she seemed a little frustrated with the waiter because he, didn't know, I guess he didn't know the answer to her question. I don't think, be fair, I don't think he understood the question. Yeah. Doesn't that make sense. Truthfully, I don't think I understand still. So the only way to clear this up is by actually talking to Denise about it. And that's going to be really easy because she's on the other line already.
Starting point is 00:34:55 What do you mean she's here? Yeah, that's how the segment works is we have the other person waiting to jump in and talk to you. Yeah. Okay, that's a little surprising. Sorry, so Denise, are you there? Yes, I'm here. Okay. Say hi to Franklin.
Starting point is 00:35:12 Hi, Franklin. I thought we had something. I thought we could have something together. The date was so well. Yeah, no, I liked it. It was great chemistry, but it's been eight days, and I still, I still don't really, I'm not sure what land meat is. Yeah, I think we all want to know. Could you clear it up?
Starting point is 00:35:30 Okay. So I know it doesn't make any sense to you guys, but it makes sense to me. And that's okay. Because listen, the second you bite into sea meat, something is all. Sea meat is so funny. I mean, that's the same as seafood, right? That's fine. You call seafood, sea food, sea meat.
Starting point is 00:35:49 No, no, no, no, no, no, no. You're not getting it. Oh, okay. Seafood and sea meat are different, Brooke. Yes. Explain. So for land meat, that is any animal that's not touching water. So, like, any cow that's near a lake.
Starting point is 00:36:04 That's a no. That's a definite no Any chicken near a river You need a dry air in cow? She needs a middle American cow A Nebraska and a brass in her Like a piece of beef jerky Totally dry would be her absolute
Starting point is 00:36:19 ideal meal Why does that matter to you? Why does it matter if the cow Lives by a body of water or not? Because you can taste The difference in the meat It's like a hell thing It's another thing where she wants to eat
Starting point is 00:36:31 I would think the cows live by a river Or happier cows Right? Is it more water? Not according to Denise Listen, those are death cows Oh yes There is no science
Starting point is 00:36:43 To back up what you are saying I can't tell you about the science I can just tell you what I taste And it's completely different taste That's honesty right there This is a fishy steak Franklin You calling me high maintenance
Starting point is 00:36:57 Just because of that Is this so ridiculous Yeah Franklin I would call it quirky Yeah Franklin you may have crossed a lot line there. So, I really don't see the point in apologizing
Starting point is 00:37:08 for not understanding. Yeah. Okay. Do you still feel that way after hearing her explanation of land meat? To be honest with you, I'm more confused than ever before. And so many questions. I mean, if a lamb can't take a bath, what does that even mean? Yeah, that's a stinky lamb.
Starting point is 00:37:24 What does it mean, Denise? It means that it's sea meat. If it's coming to contact with water, it is officially a sea animal. I'm going to order the sea lamb next time I go to a steakhouse. You know, there's no way for you to know this information about the meat. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:37:42 I shouldn't know. Because it's a restaurant's responsibility. That is a good, that's a good point, actually. They prepare the food. They must know if it's meat or land meat. They do. They should have bios next to every piece of meat that you order so that you can understand what you're putting into your body.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Yeah, I think now you guys can see why I think Denise's high-maintenance. It is not high maintenance. It's high knowledge, okay? It's high knowledge of knowing what I'm putting in my body. And quite frankly, Franklin, you should do the same. Especially with how much time he spends around water with all those car washes. You need to be careful. And on the golf course, the water hazard?
Starting point is 00:38:24 You're basically seed meat at this point, Franklin. Actually, I don't even know if Denise would want to hang out with you a second time. It sounds like he's not that interested in me. so I'll just exit first. Classy. Miss your chance, Franklin. I'm sorry. Not even going to offer you a second date.
Starting point is 00:38:41 I'm going to try to find a meat-eating cow for lunch. That's just cannibalism. That's weird. What are you doing? I don't know. I think chickens are kind of into it. Oh, yeah. At least I got a chuckle out of this, I guess,
Starting point is 00:38:54 and I dodged a bullet because... Yeah, and you're probably going to be on the radio. Bullet. Stop talking. Why are you still talking? Okay. Let's just hang up on this guy. To be honest, I'm a little dehydrated.
Starting point is 00:39:05 Okay. Sounds right. See, boy. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. You've heard the chaos. Now you can see it. Hello. My gosh.
