All right, you're in for a surprise today, that's for sure.
We get a brand new episode for you.
It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
You know, we're pumping out new episodes just like Taylor Swift is pumping out new songs.
I don't know how.
We were talking about this morning.
I'm like, Brooke, when does she stop writing songs?
When did she take a break?
Yeah, I don't know.
I don't know either.
Does she go on a honeymoon or something?
No, she's just going to her husband's football games.
All right.
We are going to start here in just a second, but we want to highlight you, the listener.
I'm going to highlight Joe, who said, listening from Lochness, Scotland.
Cool.
Couldn't help but imagine you guys with Scottish accents as my family and I enjoy the scenery.
I can't do Scottish.
Yeah, I can't do that.
No, that wasn't either.
You got it?
Hey, the move.
Okay.
All right.
You know what?
The problem is we need more whiskey, and then we wouldn't have been able to nail it.
Okay, we'll start drinking.
We'll try again tomorrow.
Yeah, there it is.
There it is.
All right.
Get to your new episode.
It starts right now.
Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Second date update.
For a guy, and I guess I'm going to ask the entire room this, if you're going on a date, what's the biggest acceptable age difference?
Can you go 10 years, 20 years?
Where's the limit?
Doesn't it depend on the age you are?
Yeah, very good answer to start.
Yeah, I think she's right.
If you're at 21, you should probably only go 10 years.
21, 10 years younger.
That's cool.
Wait, no.
Okay, just clarifying where Alexis's mind is at.
But I only ask, because our listener, Cody, Cody said he went on a date with a woman who's exactly 11 years younger than him.
And he's hoping that the age gap wasn't a problem.
So first, Cody, welcome to the show, ma'am.
Thank you so much for having me today.
Do we get a start with how old you are or?
Yes, I'm actually 35.
That's like the perfect age because like you can date older women that are 10 to 15 years older than you or 25 year olds that are like 10 years younger than you.
It's like that perfect middle age.
I mean, I think there's not a 20 year old woman probably in this room that hasn't dated someone that was 11 years older or so.
Totally.
They go through faces.
Did you ever date an old guy?
No.
Not my thing.
Ancient is what she goes.
But tell us about this younger gal, Cody, and where you met her.
Yeah.
So she's actually under.
At a coffee shop that I go to.
Okay.
And she is the perfect girl.
I mean, she's cute.
She's short, has dark hair.
And, you know, she always makes my cup, you know, every day.
And needs a foam heart, actually, which is so, so sweet.
And what do you say to that?
She does a what?
I mean, it's a foam heart.
So I usually get a latte and she needs a foam heart on top of it.
I see.
Yeah, I see.
That's got to mean something.
I, you know, Bruce's usually can do two things, like a fern or a heart.
I don't know if it means anything, my man.
I mean, that's great that you have a crush on her, though.
Yeah, yeah.
I've been going there for quite some time, and I finally made the move, and she gave me her number.
Okay.
Nice.
Okay.
Well, I don't think we've heard her name yet.
Yeah, her name is Tiz, yeah.
Tiz.
Tiz.
Just so in love, you know, I just, my brain just isn't there, you know.
Did you say you're in love?
Wow.
You're in love?
You're in love.
You're making that sense.
statement? Oh, sir. Yeah. Is that
is that something that you
actually said to Tiz at any point?
No, I haven't
told you yet, but I'm sure she
understands and feels the same.
You're sure she feels the same.
Yeah. But she's not calling you back.
No, and
here's why, I'll just tell you the story,
you know, since we have the time. So
we decided to go, I asked her out
and, you know, the thing is
she's got a couple of jobs
and, you know, my job is super, you know,
I'm always busy.
So I decided to cram in a date during lunch.
Oh, lunch date.
Oh.
A cram date is hard.
It's bad to qualify it as anything cramming it in.
Well, maybe that's a good date.
Yeah.
No.
But, yeah, that doesn't sound like yet a lot of time.
A time crunch.
Thank you.
More of cramming.
Yeah.
So she came to my office, but there were a lot of people there.
I was kind of like, okay, I don't want them in my business and all, but.
But you invited her to your word at what?
Yeah.
Hence, I shouldn't have done that.
So, you know, we got into my car and I decided I was going to take it to a cheesecake factory, right?
Okay.
Lunch champions.
Here's the thing.
Here's the thing.
As I was driving, I thought, dang, I don't have enough time to really do the cheesecake factory.
You know, I realized I don't have as much time.
So you know what we do?
You ended up doing fast food.
I took it a chick-fil-A.
Oh.
What was her response to that?
She seemed okay with it, but I know deep down inside, maybe she was pretty bad, you know?
Well, probably because it's like something she may have.
expect from guys her age just because
of money and then maybe
when you're dating someone 11 years older
that you think they're more established and
Or just better at time management too.
Sure. I can totally
see her feeling that way but I mean
you tell us how did it go at the Chick-fil-A
drive-thru? Yeah, yeah
so we drove back to the parking lot of
my job and we just sat and ate
11 lot of talking you know.
That's very glamorous
first day brother. She had a parking
garage? Yeah.
I'm imagining our parking garage.
It's not very glamorous or sexy.
Why didn't you talk much?
We were just eating.
I was Russian, you know.
I had to get back to work.
You're just shoveling food in your face.
Yeah.
But I let her share my drink and I shed some of my drink.
Cute.
That's romantic.
Wait.
Put some fries.
Okay.
Buy her own full meal.
She didn't get her own drink?
Yeah, I just thought it would be romantic, you know.
We share everything.
It's kind of cute.
Nothing you've said so far as romantic.
He has regrets definitely about how this has gone clearly.
So he's telling us the truth.
Yeah, so I text her saying that I wanted to take her on a real date.
Somewhere nice and fancy.
Okay.
If you said the word real, then there's like slight acknowledgement that you know that wasn't what you really wanted.
What did she say about going on a real date?
Well, she hasn't responded, and I'm worried because usually she's good at texting.
You know how young girls are?
They're good at messaging back quickly.
That's weird to call her a young girl.
I know.
I kind of like how you phrase that, actually.
No.
Have you been back to the coffee shop?
I have, but guess what?
There's someone else making my order for some reason, you know?
There's no foam hard.
Wait, so she's there and she's not making your order.
Yeah, just from some random guy that I've never even met.
I mean, what is your bodyguard or something?
Wow.
So you feel like maybe?
I'm going to go with maybe.
I mean, she's not just not calling you back.
She's like planning and getting other people to help avoid you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But I think I want to give it another chance.
I mean, I think she should definitely respond back and you can try this again, you know?
It feels like this is something more than just fast food in a car avoidance.
It would be.
I don't know.
Or maybe the fast food guy did some art with the chick filet sauce on her burger.
And she, like, fell in love with that guy.
That'd be just my luck that happened to me.
Well, hopefully that's not the case, and there's a different explanation.
We're going to find out when we come back.
We will call Tiz the barista and try and get you your second date update right after this.
Hold on.
Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Second date update.
Brooke has said many times, guys who admit their wrong are hot.
So you can imagine how turned on she was, listening to Cody confess all the mistakes that he made on his extraordinary.
extremely rushed lunch date with a younger woman named Taze.
Because they were supposed to go to cheesecake factory for a little sit-down meal.
But due to time constraints, they instead had to settle for a drive-through chick filet,
which they ate in the parking lot outside of his workplace.
It felt like a parking garage.
I don't know why that's how I pictured it.
And why it matters to me, I'm not sure.
But it's just...
However you want to fantasize about it, Brooke, you put that image in your mind and you go to
Well, the garage is a little darker.
Yeah, darker with terrible lighting.
All the sexiest things happen there.
But Cody's the first to admit he wishes that he had done things differently,
and that's why he's coming to us,
hoping that we can help facilitate that for him.
Can I ask, like, we've heard every single bad thing,
but was there one positive that could maybe turn her around
on the idea of giving you another shot?
Well, the good news is that it's explaining on my pants about what we were eating, so.
You didn't spill.
Nice.
A normal problem for you or just the normal stain.
That's what we're working with, huh?
Okay.
The highlight.
You know what?
Stain free pants?
Let's go, Jeff.
I'm going to bring it up if Tiz answers, but here we go.
Remember the guy with the spotless pants?
Yep.
Let's see if she picks up the phone.
I'm going to dial her number right now.
Oh, goodness.
Hey, is this Tiz?
Yeah.
Oh, man.
Hey, Tiz.
I want to welcome you to our show.
the radio right now with Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Okay.
Hey.
Hey, dude.
She's a morning person like us.
She's a barista.
Oh, yes.
We did hear that.
And we're going to get our coffee orders in soon.
But first, we want to talk to you about something else.
Uh-oh.
Maybe she has heard the show.
Yeah.
Well, it's a segment we do.
I don't know if you've heard of it before.
It's called the Second Date Update.
Oh, goodness.
You know.
Yep.
Okay.
So you understand how it works.
If someone goes on a date and afterwards they're not getting a call back,
they can come to us and see if we can dig around to figure out if there's a reason why.
Okay.
And.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
Probably already know who we're talking about.
It's how we were connected with a guy named Cody.
Ah.
Oh, Lord.
Okay.
Oh.
Oh, Lord.
Oh, Lord.
Oh, Lord.
Oh, Lord.
Yeah.
I can't tell him that was good or bad.
Yeah, that's a good point.
It could be like, oh, Lord.
Oh, yeah.
I liked him.
No.
I'm not sure.
So, listen, Tess, we've spoken to Cody.
We've gotten kind of the vibe of who he is, but we'd love to hear your side of the story about how you felt about your date with him.
Okay, so I guess I know I'm a marista and I met him there.
Right.
And he's older than me.
So I was like, okay, this is a little different.
You know.
Yeah.
But he's not too much older.
I mean, 11 years is a jump, but it's not like a crazy jump.
Yeah.
It's actually.
Well, I figured out what, you know, try something different.
So we were supposed to go on a nice date.
But unfortunately, he's a time and stuff.
I guess he'd be busy or whatever.
He couldn't do what he wanted to do.
So he said, maybe at my office for lunch.
I said, oh, okay, well, that's different.
I never did it before.
So I get to his office.
The receptionist receives me.
And then everyone,
is staring at me.
And I just was like...
Oh, they're like, is this a new hire?
Can you imagine, though, you guys, if
one of our, like, sales team
asked a first date to meet them in the lobby,
it would be the talk of the office.
Remember when someone got flowers?
Oh, yeah!
I was like, hey, we have flowers for so-and-so,
and everyone was talking about.
It was the biggest deal.
Yeah, that's why I felt like I was found
on display.
Oh, yeah.
That's too bad.
But good on Cody, because he said
he knew that it was a little bit of a weird vibe
at the office.
that's why he wanted to take you somewhere else.
But listen, that's not the issue, though.
What's the issue?
So I get to his office, and we're in there trying to get ourselves together.
Oh, like he has a door.
It's not like an open cubicle.
Is that what you mean?
Yes.
Okay.
So there's a knock on a door.
When he goes to open his door, his mother and his kids.
His what?
His children.
What?
So how would you feel?
Yeah.
His mom and kids.
I think I was accidentally hired to babysit.
No, I know.
He looked a little confused, so he looked at his calendar and then realized he double booked me with his mom and kids.
No.
No.
So it wasn't planned.
It was just all an accident.
Completely an utter accident.
He kept telling us that he was in a hurry.
Oh, and he did say there were a lot of people around.
He just didn't mention that the other people were his family members.
That was a detail he left out.
So what happened?
We all got in the car.
Wait, wait.
What do you mean by we?
What do you mean by we?
We.
Everybody.
Oh, too?
You?
Grandma, the kids, the everybody?
We all got in the car and we all got Chick-fil-A.
No.
As a unit.
Oh, my God.
Can I ask where you sat in the car?
Yeah.
Oh, that's a good question.
In the back with the kids?
Dude, he better.
He gave her the front over his mom.
I know.
I was in the front with him and they were back.
They're just, the kids are just busy.
And he was pretending like they weren't even there.
What?
That's polite.
He's trying to focus his attention on you.
Yeah, he put you in the front over his mom.
That's a big deal.
How did he even explain to his family who you were?
Well, he just called me a special friend, and I just put along with it.
Okay.
Oh, no.
Okay.
We get to meet a lot of different special friends.
You gotta hate when people leave stuff out.
Yeah.
A lot of those details were not mentioned to us when we heard the story from Cody.
Yeah, we could have saved a lot of people a lot of time here.
And I have some fun news for you, Tiz.
Your special friend is on the other line of this phone call,
listening and waiting to talk to you.
Is he?
Oh, my God.
He is.
Cody?
Hey, sis.
I'm here.
Cody, what are you doing?
Like, why are you doing all this?
Like, what is this?
Yeah.
I don't know what to tell you.
Did you want me to kick my family out of the car so you can have a solo date or something?
What?
What?
Maybe reschedule?
Yeah, why do you say, oh, my God.
My kids are here.
Yeah, I didn't realize.
Sure, it wasn't the greatest situation, but we all rolled with it.
I mean, we all ended up sharing fries.
Family style.
That's kind of nice.
Yeah.
Cody, you do realize this is like my first impression of you.
Yeah.
It's a lot, dude.
Cody, did you even tell her that you had children before the date?
No, he did not tell me that he had children.
Okay.
He was just, like, not shri-law about everything.
Oh, man.
Well, to the wish, I knew you were a kid person, because clearly you don't like children.
Oh.
Oh.
Wow.
Is that what you're reading from what she's saying ever this?
That's not even like the case.
I love children.
Oh, see, there's something to go off of.
Okay.
Okay.
Cody, she loves kids.
Would you ever date a dad, a single dad?
I mean, I thought about it, but this definitely is not the way you introduce the kids to a new person.
Never.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But in his defense, it wasn't meant to happen this one.
way. It was just a big oopsie in his mind that he's trying to make the best of.
No, but he continued the oopsie.
Yeah. Listen, this is a problem. When COVID hit, McDonald's decided to shed down all of its
play places. So what do you do with your kids now? Just end up in the backseat of your car
during a date? That's a good point.
Did previously, wait, you went to Chick-fil-A, not even McDonald's. It wasn't his fault.
It was McDonald's fault for not having a place to drop his kids to play.
I'm just doing the math and your kids are a lot older than I.
expected them to be.
I mean, we utilize the middle of the seat, if that's what you're asking?
Yeah, but there's no light.
I think that was, yeah, that was good.
It's not what I was asking.
Okay.
Well, I feel like there's something I need to ask here.
Oh, are you going to ask it?
Oh, yeah.
We have to luck.
We always ask this because.
Hey, you better clarify how many people we can afford.
Yeah, so this offer is just for Tiz and Cody only, no family included.
But Tiz, if you're open to it, we would offer to send you on another date.
Listen, Tiz, I'm so sorry about last time, but I would love to make it up to you with another date to the cheesecake factory.
You can get whatever you want.
There'll be no special guest shift to two of us.
What an offer.
I mean, candlelight at the cheesecake factory?
How do you say no to that, Tiz?
I wouldn't when I was 24.
No.
Well, Cody, I am going to have to respectfully decline.
Cody, I'm sorry that it went this way.
How do you feel, though?
Hey guys, I'm really disappointed
But kids, I got one request
What's that?
What's that?
Can you go back to making the lottes
With the foam hearts?
You have some good doing it
And it's just not the same
You know what, Cody?
I got you.
Oh.
Okay.
That was actually reasonable.
Yeah.
She can't get anyone to cover her shift.
Yeah.
Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Okay, I have a trick
for knowing whether a chocolate chip cookie is going to be incredible.
It is based solely on whether or not there's a touch of salt on the top.
Oh, the salty and sweet.
You just can't go wrong.
It is the best flavor combo out there.
Okay, well, maybe the best flavor combo is salty, sweet, and nutritious.
Because I've got you covered with that with Kachava's new salted caramel.
I mean, honestly, it satisfies your salty sweet cravings while totally supporting whole body
nutrition.
It just one delicious, simple shake.
You do two scoops, and let me tell you, they're covering protein.
I'm going to let you know that your energy, your digestion, your strength, your metabolism, your cognition, and your immunity is all going to thank you thanks to Kachava.
There's no artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, no GMOs, no soy, no animal products, no gluten, no preservatives.

code BJ. Today's episode is brought to you by Vinted. And if you guys are anything like me,
my style changes with every season. I love keeping up with trends, but I'll go from loving one
style to suddenly wanting a completely different wardrobe just a few weeks later. And I definitely
don't want to spend a ton of money every few months. And that's why I've started using Vinted. Vinted is a
secondhand app that makes it easy for everyday sellers, people like you and me, to sell pre-loved fashion,
and earn some extra money. So thanks to Vinted, what I've started doing is going through my closet,
finding clothes I'm not wearing anymore and selling them on Vinted.
It's really quick and simple.
You just list your item by taking a few pictures of it.
And when it sells, Vinted sends you a prepaid shipping label.
Plus, there's no seller fees so you keep everything you earn.
Then you can cash out your money or what I like to do, use it right on Vinted to find
some new clothes.
That way, I can refresh my wardrobe without feeling like I just spent a ton of money.
So I get to clear out my closet, make some money, and find new pieces I actually love,
all on Vinted.
If you're ready to clean out your closet and make some extra money, download the Vinted app for free
and start listing.
With no seller fees, you keep every dollar you earn.
You know, we've heard of somebody's mom randomly showing up to a dinner in the middle of their day.
We didn't even talk about the mom.
I know.
You know it's bad when that's the low light.
But this is the first time we've heard someone's mom, along with that person's children,
all going on the date while sitting in the backseat of a car.
Yeah.
Can you imagine the converse?
Well, actually, he said they acted like the kids weren't even there and the mom wasn't there.
Right.
Finally understand, like it dawned on me why he didn't reschedule with either of the groups, right?
The date, because the mom didn't either.
You know what I mean?
Like the mom was like, oh, I guess I'll go.
Right.
My mom would be like, oh my God, I'm so sorry.
Go on your date, you know?
It's so many things.
Not that guy's mom.
Nope.
It was a total cluster.
Yeah.
Oh, my gosh.
Maybe the one regret I have looking back on it is not telling Tiz that the guy said he was in love with her.
Oh, how did we forget that?
How did we forget that?
I could have really moved the needle and changed her mind.
Well, hopefully she hears this and she never makes a latte heart for anyone ever again.
Yeah.
Man, that was a good one.
That's good.
A lot of lessons to learn out of this.
I know I personally always live with regret, but you don't have to if you subscribe to our YouTube and you can listen to all of our second date updates.
