A tragedy that's now forgotten and a mystery That may or may not have been political That may have been about sex Listen to Rorschach Murder at City Hall on the IHeart Radio app Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts
Starting point is 00:02:11 I'm Lori Siegel And on my new podcast, mostly human I'll take you to some wild corners Of the tech world I'm about to go on a date with an AI companion at a real world cafe Right here in New York City There's no playbook
Starting point is 00:02:29 for what to do when an AI model hallucinates a story about you. Mostly Human is your playbook for how tech can work for you. Anyone can now be an entrepreneur. Anyone can build an app. And it's very empowering. Listen to Mostly Human on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your favorite shows. Hey, it's Brigh and Jeffrey.
Starting point is 00:02:51 And we've got a brand new second date podcast for you today. The guy, I mean, we always talk about often in these, how they're not putting in enough effort these days. This man showed up. an hour early to his date just to make sure he was prepared. Yeah. And it still didn't work out. So where does that leave us?
Starting point is 00:03:10 I guess we're going to find out here in just a second. But first comments. H said, I love listening to this podcast. I almost finished studying sciences at college and I'm going to uni in a few months to study optometry. You guys have helped me get through hours of revision and other boring tasks like cleaning my room. I hope you guys never stop. Dude, good for you. I love a good optomet.
Starting point is 00:03:32 You could study Brooke's eyes. Yeah, the girl with big glasses. Oh, yeah. All right, here it is, your brand new second day podcast right now. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update. Experts say with all the competition nowadays on the dating apps, your first line has to be airtight.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Ooh. Okay. You might not get a second chance. And that's why our listener Jameson says he came up with his own strategic approach. And apparently he was successful. At least for the moment. Well, I mean, he's on the phone with us, so we always judge that word pretty harshly. Well, I do wonder if the line would work on us.
Starting point is 00:04:10 So, Jameson, welcome to the show. Hey, guys, glad to be here. Oh, look at that. Jameson, Jeffrey wants you to use a line on him. Just your voice alone is working, honestly. Yeah, maybe you should have a great voice, Jameson. I appreciate it. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Oh, you're welcome. Okay. So are we getting straight to the line? I don't know. I just want Jameson to talk more. Why are you blushing? He's kind of quiet. I know.
Starting point is 00:04:32 Quiet and whispery. What's, uh, so you said you met a girl on the dating apps. What's her name? Yes, her name is Val. All right. And what was your strategic approach that you used? Uh, so my opening line was I've been searching for you. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:51 I was expecting. I'm going to say, I'm glad you didn't leave a voice note of that. Because like the whisper voice with the searching news. I take it back. Yeah. So she responded to that? Yes, she was very confused, but she was like, what, what do you mean? And I responded, your Valhalla, I've been searching for you.
Starting point is 00:05:15 Valhalla, like the Viking afterworld? Yes, the Nordic heaven. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Wow. Did she get your, did you get your Viking joke? She ended up sending an eye roll.
Starting point is 00:05:29 emoji. She's heard it before. She still wanted to talk after that. Okay. I'm okay. Sometimes, and no one's going to agree with me on this, but someone in the world will. Jokes are so bad, they're good. Yeah, no, I agree with you on that. Dude, everyone that listens to this show has to agree with
Starting point is 00:05:45 that. I mean, yeah, it must have worked if you're able to get a date with her, because I'm assuming that's where your story's going. Yeah, so we talked for a little while. We kind of matched interests, and So one thing led to another, and we ended up going on a date to a farmer's market, actually. Oh, wow. Not quite the afterworld, is it?
Starting point is 00:06:06 But I guess it'll do. But it worked, man. Yeah, it did work. How was the farmer's market? That's always a cute date, stuff to look at, stuff to talk about. Yeah. So I actually went to the farmer's market roughly an hour early. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Because I wanted to familiarize myself with the vendors and whatnot. So I went around, had a few comments. conversations being myself familiar. You pre-funter farmers market? Is this so you could be a tour guide to her? Yeah, I mean, it seemed like a good idea for me. You know, that is kind of sweet. To be like, hey, if you like strawberries, I know exactly where they are.
Starting point is 00:06:45 That's kind of annoying to me. You would love this, Jose. This would be Jose's alley. Listen, this honey comes from a special group of bees that only feast on clovers. Also, I kind of wanted to make myself look like a big shot. So when we were walking around, you know, people would know me. I get a little recognition. Pretend you support local weekly when you don't.
Starting point is 00:07:07 What's up, Jameson? Someone calls you out like, oh, I met you like an hour ago. Was she impressed? It only happened once, but, you know, it did happen. Okay. That one time must have felt good. You know, I won't lie. I kind of felt like I owned a place that was little that day.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Yeah, everybody knows you. That's cute. Big shot at the farmer's market. All right. Yeah, you run in the farmer's market. Jeff is so confusing. That's super cool. It's not a flex for you.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Well, I'd love to hear, like, did you and Val connect over stuff, or were you just going around showing off how cool you were? I bought her an iced coffee, and then we kind of just talked about stuff after that. Okay. What did you guys connect over? Some of our interests, books, TV shows, some of the art we saw at the farmer's market. We both like food. Mm-hmm. You eat?
Starting point is 00:08:01 Me too. Do you like markets? Yep, you like farmers? Yeah. Yeah? Cool. Let's get married. We're giving you a really hard time, Jameson.
Starting point is 00:08:10 It sounds like a very sweet date. It does. In a way, the fact that there aren't these crazy things happening is good. You're having kind of a normal date. Yeah, I mean, that sounds good now, but she's not calling me back or, like, returning my text, so I don't know what's up. Well, I mean, I'm sure Alexis is thinking what I am. She's intimidated by. the king of the farmer.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Oh. That's exactly where my head was at. Somebody would be. But when you look back on the farmer's market, was there any moments that you think could have been seen as a red flag for her,
Starting point is 00:08:41 any like lulls in the date? You know, I kind of thought I may have spent more time speaking to the vendors than her. Did that backfire maybe? Yeah, I think it could have because vendors, they love to talk. So, you know,
Starting point is 00:08:58 I tried to get a little bit of a long time with her at the end. So there was a bar across the street. We went over there. I had a few mimosa's, but it only lasted about 20 minutes before we had to go. Okay. Well, that's, I mean, a mimosa, farmers market, brunch. It's a cute day.
Starting point is 00:09:14 It is, I mean. Yeah, I thought it was cute, but I guess she didn't. You know, when we left, I went in for a hug, but it kind of became awkward and left on weird energy, I guess. How is the hug awkward? They can be really bad sometimes. Yeah. I went in for a side hug, and I guess she didn't really read that, so she tried to give me like a high-five or something. One of those situations.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Okay. I hate leaving things like that. Yeah. Like, you couldn't even hug right. Feels bad to leave on an awkward note. Yeah. Yeah, it was weird. You know, our navel's kind of connected, but they also didn't.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Okay, actually, it's sexier than I thought, the way you described it. Why is navel so unattractive? I don't like that. It's kind of hot, but, all right. The bottom line is Val is not calling you back. So let's go on an official search for Valhalla. Ah. See if we can bring her back to the Promise Land and reconnect her with Jameson.
Starting point is 00:10:09 All right. When we do your second date update right after this. Hold on, man. I appreciate it, guys. Thank you. We appreciate you. Hold on. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Starting point is 00:10:18 Second date update. Welcome back to Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update. So dramatic. As we embark on an epic. journey searching for Val. Hala. I liked it. It's just, it's Val.
Starting point is 00:10:35 A woman that our listener Jameson went out with for a day at the farmer's market. And now she's not calling him back. So we've decided to band together and take up his noble quest to say
Starting point is 00:10:51 not tomorrow, not yesterday, but now. That's right, too. Thalah shall be ours. Or Jameson's. Or it's going to end with a Viking funeral. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:11:05 Something will occur in the next few minutes, I promise you that. Okay. All right, maybe we need to cut the music. He didn't sound into it, and I was kind of excited about it, Jeff. I tried, guys. I did my best there. You were a good quest leader. Honestly, I don't know much about Viking lore, so I really should have watched more history channel. Bottom line is, we need to help Jameson get his girl.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Hey, there you go. How do you feel, Jameson? So I dressed up as a Viking for Halloween once five years ago. Oh, okay. All right. Put the costume on. I don't think so, Alex. I don't know the best idea.
Starting point is 00:11:39 We all appreciate the visual that you just gave us stuff. Nice. That's going to inspire us to work even harder to get you to your goal. Hey, he sounds good to me. Okay. All right. You don't sound nervous at all, by the way. We're excited.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Yeah, you don't sound anything. I don't know. I guess that's just my personality. Yeah, you are kind of soft-spoken. Well, we like it. Yep, yep. Like a true Viking. That's right. Very calm and collected.
Starting point is 00:12:05 Call and soft-spoken. All right, let's board our boat and take our epic journey. We're going to call Val and see if she answers. Here we go. Hey, we're looking to speak with Val. This is Val. Hey, Val. This is a radio show.
Starting point is 00:12:26 We're called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Hey, Val. Hi, Val. Hi, good morning, Val. How you doing? Um, Is this real? This doesn't sound real. I don't know what this is. It's not a dream.
Starting point is 00:12:38 We don't sound real? Oh, we could be AI. Are you, Jeff? No, I think it's the radio. Yeah, that's what I, it sounds like AI. No, we're not AI. It'd be a little bit weird if AI was to call you out of the blue and ask about your dating life. Hey, we don't know what AI is doing in the background these days. That's the future. Yeah, I don't know what AI is up to you. Okay. You and me, we're together. We don't trust that artificial intelligence. Let's go. I trust her.
Starting point is 00:13:02 See? Okay. Okay. There we go. She doesn't have the AI voice. Well, welcome to the show. Yeah. You wouldn't trust her if you were in the studio right now. Why?
Starting point is 00:13:11 With her Michael J. Fox haircut, but that's a different story. I don't even know what that would look like. Dude, there's three people who can picture it right now that are laughing. And the AIs are the ones that don't have the imagination to picture it. So that's okay. Happening. That was a bad burn, is what that was. Now Jeff does sound like AI because he couldn't come up with a good joke.
Starting point is 00:13:31 Boom! Roast! joke landed moving on so Val joke complete sorry Val here's the thing we're kind of a jokey
Starting point is 00:13:42 funny show we like to have fun with each other but we're really serious about one of our listeners a guy named Jameson that you went out on a date with recently oh okay you know Jameson
Starting point is 00:13:54 I do know him I do remember him but he's there really wasn't much to remember It was like a pretty boring date, I would say. Oh, no, that's not what I thought. You're talking about the farmer's market date? Yeah, like, it just felt kind of an original.
Starting point is 00:14:11 And like, if people were music, he would be like elevator music. That's a good bird. Hold on. I mean, you know, yeah, let's leave the jokes to us now. That was a little uncalled for it. Maybe he shouldn't have put the mimoses at the end of the date. Maybe he should have put them at the beginning and you would have had a different. opinion. Okay, teen
Starting point is 00:14:35 wolf. Jeez. Is that another hair joke? It's another Michael J. Fox. What? He was Michael J. Fox. Michael J. Fox was texting right now. This is so good. Can we start using someone from the last 10 years, maybe? He is. Or 30?
Starting point is 00:14:51 He's still doing his thing. There's a millennial crying in their car laughing right now. Get back to Val, Jeff. Okay, fair, fair enough. Why was it boring? He just, like, was boring. It's like the color gray. He was just millennial. Gray. Oh.
Starting point is 00:15:05 And I don't even know, like, I don't get why he is reaching out to you guys. I haven't been responding to him, so I don't really know why he isn't taking a hint. Right. Well, he is understanding that you're distancing yourself. He just wasn't sure if there was a specific reason for it, and your reason seems to be that he was too boring for you. I mean, duh, I have said that. I feel like that he's boring.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Oh. Okay. All right. Listen, that's your take on the experience, and that's fine. We appreciate you being honest with us. So now it's our turn to be honest with you. This is exciting. This is usually the fun part of the call where we tell you that Jameson has actually been listening in on this call the entire time.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Like a quiet little wallflower on the side of the room waiting to jump in. No, no, no, no. Yes. Jeff met like a panther ready to attack. Like a Viking. Not in a scary way, but yes. I was trying to make something more exciting. Totally.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Jameson? Hey, Val. How's it going? There's that pen for it. Oh. Jameson, did you, you heard what she said, right? Yep, I heard all of it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:19 Well, what do you think? She was saying things about you and your personality. Oh. Honestly, it's fine. I'm not for everybody, so it's whatever. That is such a emotionally mature responsibility. It's actually refreshing. I love that.
Starting point is 00:16:34 Well, I'm glad, honestly, Jameson, that you heard everything because I feel like you weren't getting it when I wasn't responding to your text. So if this is how you needed to hear it, I'm glad. And maybe you'll find somebody else who's a different shade of gray for you, you know? Oh, my God. Seems unwarranted.
Starting point is 00:16:53 Oh, man. You know what? I'm glad I hear it now because I'm pretty sure the waitress at the bar we went to won't think that. Yeah. Oh, there are. Wait a minute. You try to serve it back.
Starting point is 00:17:04 What does that mean? Exactly what you think, you know. Once you left for the bar, I stayed back a little bit, ended up talking to our waitress, and, you know, I got her number, so it's all good here. Wait. Okay. I did not expect to hear that from you. Jameson, you really did that?
Starting point is 00:17:24 Yeah, you know, we're not exclusive, so I figured why not expand my options, right? Okay. I mean, good on you. I guess he doesn't seem upset that this didn't work out. Yeah, no wonder. Which is fine because, I mean, everybody seems happy then, right? Maybe, but suddenly Jameson isn't sounding quite as boring and wallflowery anymore. Oh, are you turned on, Jeff?
Starting point is 00:17:44 I mean, it sounds like a man that takes charge and goes out and gets what he wants when he wants. All of a sudden, Jeff wants to go to a farmer's market. I do. I'm going to into this how Jameson is sounding. I'm into this side. No, sorry, this is Jeff. I'm the host of the show. Oh, no, no.
Starting point is 00:18:00 What did you just say? I'm kind of into this side of Jameson, though. I didn't really know that he could like snap back like that. I'm kind of in that vibe. I'm more into that vibe. You like when he challenges you. Now that I'm just hearing his voice with no farmer's market around, like I feel like I'm not as distracted.
Starting point is 00:18:20 Oh. The voice and the like comeback, I'm kind of into this. I could be swayed. I could be swayed. Really? It sounds like you could be swayed. pretty easily. Well, let me save you some trouble.
Starting point is 00:18:34 I'm not interested anymore. I think I'll be seeing that waitress. Oh, wait. No way. Dude, what a power move. Is that true? You don't want to go out with her again? No, I'm good.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Wow. Because he heard the truth. He heard her original reaction. Yeah, that's a thing. Yeah. Val, you just blew it. You guys, I think he's joking because I just got a text message from him with a little heart emoji.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Oh, really? Did you do that, Jameson? I don't text and tell. I don't text and tell. Oh, mysterious. Now I'm starting to think that the waitress thing is not true. For the purposes of this segment, we're going to pretend that it still is true. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:18 Because I'm sensing there's interest from Val, we would offer to send you two out on another date if you're open to it. He said no, right? Well, I don't know. He said he sent a heart emoji. Where are you at, Jameson? Yes or no? I won't date her, but I'll break her off a little something. What an awful.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Okay. Well, dang. It's up to you. Hey, I'm into it, so, yeah. Oh, my. This guy's got so much wrist. What the heck? But also none at the same time.
Starting point is 00:19:49 You just turned an absolute no. He's the most boring guy in the world into I am super into this. Give Millennial Gray a chance, yeah. Seriously. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Experience Bruno Mars live in Toronto. IHard Radio wants to send you and a friend with flights from tripcentral.com. Two nights at Sheridan Center, Toronto.

Starting point is 00:20:41 Anyone can build an app. And it's very empowering. Each week, I'll speak to the people building that future. And we're going to break down what all of this innovation actually means for you. What I come to realize is that when people think that they're dating these AI companion, they're actually dating the companies that create this. We're experiencing one of the greatest tech accelerations in human history. And let's be honest, that can be.
Starting point is 00:21:05 messy. There's no playbook for what to do when an AI model hallucinates a story about you. But it's my belief that we should all benefit from this moment. Mostly Human will show you how. My goal is to give you the playbook, so you can benefit. The reason I say agency is because like if we can give power back to people, then I think that's probably the best thing we can do for your mental health. Starting point is 00:21:45 Yeah. That was weird. He is not the person that I thought he was. No. I mean, you think you know somebody for four minutes, and then they go and change on you. Well, maybe Vikings do talk soft, but carry a big stick. Yeah. Kind of like Jameson.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Do you guys think he played us like the market, like he got on with us early, before he talked to her and then sealed the deal? I don't know. He was good, though. Yeah, he was really good. We didn't even see it coming. He knew exactly what she wanted. He was able to fully turn things around in his favor by simply not caring and just being like whatever.
Starting point is 00:22:18 Yep. Which is why I don't even care if you find us on our podcast right now. You know? We're not that desperate. Don't find us. Like us. Don't like us. We don't care.
Starting point is 00:22:28 We don't cry at home. Yeah. No. If you go to Brooke and Jeffrey's second date update and you say nice things, we probably won't even read it. We will. Yeah, I always reply to them. Yeah, or we will. In 2023, Bachelor star Clayton Eckerd was accused of fathering twins.
