Starting point is 00:00:39 Second Date Update. I think a lot of guys have these big heroic fantasies of swooping in and saving a woman during her hour of need. Oh, yeah, I'd love that. Brooke's not really a fan of that kind of stuff. Anytime a guy has ever tried that, Brooke's like, excuse me, I can handle this on my own. Thank you very much. Maybe we're in a burning building.
Starting point is 00:01:03 Even when she lost her glasses and drove her car into a lake that one time. And a nice guy was passing by and asked if he could help her as her Subaru filled up with water. She was like, I got this! Kids, learn to swim! We don't need a man to help us out of this situation. There's never anything
Starting point is 00:01:19 wrong with independence, Jeffrey. At all. Well, there is one of our listeners who is kind of into it and she actually has emailed us for help getting a second date update today i don't know if chivalry is allowed on this show anymore it's okay if she likes it that's fine that's fine we'll talk offline and i'll give her some like you know woman to woman stuff okay we'll do some feminism stuff when this is all done but first let's talk to danielle danielle how you doing hey it's doing pretty good oh damsel in distress danielle brooke's coming out a little bit judgmental here i just honestly danielle i just like the
Starting point is 00:01:56 alliteration in that oh okay yeah so uh why don't you tell us who's the guy that uh swooped in and saved you what's his name so his his name is Lee. Prince Lee. I can see that. What did Lee save you from? It wasn't like a big deal, but I was at the coffee shop and I realized that I had my credit card when I was trying to pay for my coffee and my muffin
Starting point is 00:02:17 and had some cash on me, but not enough. And he was behind me in line. So Lee was like, oh, you know, i'll pay for your coffee and your muffin oh my god what a man no that is like a dream come true for me a beautiful woman's in front of me needs two dollars and i can look like a hero that's actually a really nice just person thing yeah anybody anybody i mean it's definitely a really nice just person thing to do. Yeah, it is. Anybody, anybody, romantic or not.
Starting point is 00:02:45 I mean, it's definitely a green flag on his part that he stepped up. So that was really nice. Did it spark like a conversation between you? Yeah, yeah. We started talking. Like I was sitting down, you know, eating my muffin and my coffee. Wait, you were sitting with him or you were sitting separate? Well, I was sitting down.
Starting point is 00:03:01 And when he started to leave, he like sat down and was like, hey, can I join you? Oh. Nice move. Oh, cute. Nice move. And he wasn't too thirsty. He didn't ask until later. He wasn't like, okay, now I bought your meal.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Let's sit down together. Yeah. Sounds like you kind of turned this into a date. Yeah, he was really cute, and he's, like, he's such a cool guy. Like, he said he works at a shop nearby. A shop? A shop. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:24 So we ended up talking a lot like i'm in the health and wellness business so we were talking about my outdoor fitness stuff and toxic free cleaning and my oils and all of that and he was like tell me more and so we both had to leave it was on break or something and so we left and we had to exchange numbers and everything, but we were going the same direction. Oh, my God. That's so cute and so awkward at the same time. Like, after you say goodbye to somebody, and then you're walking together, and you're like, well, now. Totally.
Starting point is 00:03:54 I always end up just trying to, like, walk really, really, really fast. Yeah. Which just makes it worse. I'm going to turn and walk the other way, even though I don't have to go that direction. Or what do you do? Bust your phone out and just ignore the whole time? You're still side by side? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Danielle, what did you do? Exactly. So we weren't walking together. He was straight headed back to wherever he was going. And I was about five feet behind him. So the whole time I'm walking, I thought, this is going to be weird if he looks back and I'm behind him. Because he didn't know you were walking in the same direction.
Starting point is 00:04:25 It's like you're following him. Yeah, creeper. I wasn't trying to be creepy or awkward, but sure thing, he turns back and looks at me. Oh, no. What did you do? Did you wave? Did he see you? Did he for sure see you?
Starting point is 00:04:39 Yes. Yes. Oh, no. Yeah. So funny. What do you do in that moment? I mean, there was nothing I could do except like, hi. Oh.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Me again. I'm totally not following you right now. Oh, you had to tell him that. Oh, no. That just makes it worse. Yeah. At that point, we just kind of started to walk together. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Okay, that's good, actually. I was like, there's my car right there. It's parked right there. So you had to like prove to him? Was that really your car or were you just trying to be like, oh, yeah was like, there's my car right there. It's parked right there. So you had to prove to him? Was that really your car, or were you just trying to be like, oh, yeah, no, that's my car. My house is over there, too. There's my family. Family.
Starting point is 00:05:13 I was walking to lunch, dinner with my family. I would have panicked just like she would have. You didn't just hit the alarm button? Oh, I did. Beep, beep. I made sure it went off, yeah. Okay. So how did you two leave it?
Starting point is 00:05:29 Leave what? That moment. Did you continue following him all the way home? Yeah, I got in my car and I kept following him. Oh, I said, oh, well, it was nice meeting you. You know, I'll text you, hope to see you again soon. And I got in my car. Okay. And so see you again soon. And I got in my car. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:45 And so have you guys texted? I texted him, but he has yet to reply. And he read the message. Okay. Oh, he left his, like, I hate when people have their seats on. Normally I would say, obviously, it's the follow thing, but he saw it was your car. You unlocked it.
Starting point is 00:06:04 As long as when she pointed to her car, she didn't actually make that sound. Like, beep, beep. Beep, beep. Okay. See you later. Then I see why he's not texting you. She's like, beep, beep. Yep, I hear you.
Starting point is 00:06:16 No, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, looks like I got to get my hand in the bag. Right, well, let's find out. We'll play a song. We'll come back. We'll call Lee for you, and we'll try and get you a second day ducted, okay? Let's peel out of We'll play a song. We'll come back. We'll call Lee for you. And we'll try and get you a second day ducted, okay? Let's peel out of here.
Starting point is 00:06:28 Okay. One of our listeners, Danielle, has asked us to call a heroic stud named Lee. After he valiantly stepped in and paid for her coffee when she forgot her wallet at home that day. Yes, he did. And that little gesture actually turned into a nice first date. The weird part, though, was after they left and they were both
Starting point is 00:06:49 awkwardly walking down the street in the same direction and Danielle literally had to say to him, I swear I'm not following you right now. My car's actually over there. I mean, friendships have ended over the same thing.
Starting point is 00:07:01 Absolutely. And now, Danielle, we never asked you this. Did you ever reimburse Lee the $2 for the coffee that he bought. And now, Danielle, we never asked you this. Did you ever reimburse Lee the $2 for the coffee that he bought you? Oh, come on. It could be.
Starting point is 00:07:10 It may have been his very last $2 so he couldn't pay rent. He ended up getting evicted. Now he's living at his grandma's house. Okay, I was just going to ask if she knew
Starting point is 00:07:19 if he was single or not. Okay. Did you reimburse him? Oh, I did not. Oh, then I would have. I know, but now with Venmo, like, you know, you just ask him like,
Starting point is 00:07:30 oh, I could Venmo you the money. If he would just text her back. I wouldn't do that still. Okay. And it's just his find his Venmo. That's creepy too. I don't know. Is he single though?
Starting point is 00:07:39 Did you ask him that? Like, you know for sure? Because he could just be a person who was trying to do a nice thing for you. Yeah, good Samaritan. He seemed like he was single. There was nothing to indicate that he wasn't.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Right. And he is the one that said, can I sit with you? Yeah. Now we can find out for sure because I'm going to call his number right now. We can just ask him, okay? Are we the creepers now? Are you nervous? We're kind of like following him.
Starting point is 00:08:00 I always kind of feel like a creep. Yeah. I mean, now the radio is calling him, so now you're really going to think I'm a creeper, but let's find out. All right, here we go. Let's do this. Hello?
Starting point is 00:08:19 Hey, is this Lee? Yeah. Yes. Hey, this is... Do you want more than that, Jeffrey? I don't know. Sometimes they say more. What about his full name? Yeah. Yes. Hey, this is... Do you want more than that, Jeffrey? I don't know. Sometimes they say more. What about his full name?
Starting point is 00:08:29 No. Hey, Lee, my name's Jeff from the radio show Brooke and Jeffrey in the Morning. Okay, hi. You know, the celebrity. What? There's no celebrity that goes by just Jeffrey. V. Jeffrey.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Oh, when you say V, yeah. V. Jeffrey. From V. Brooke and Jeffrey in the Morning. From V. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. From V. Brooke and Jeffrey. Now do you recognize it? Yeah, of course. That's a funny lie. I like you already, Lee.
Starting point is 00:08:54 I like you. You're a nice guy, Lee. He said two things, and you guys are all on his side. I can already tell. That's okay. Look, we're calling on behalf of one of our listeners, Lee. Her name's Danielle. You remember meeting Danielle the other day?
Starting point is 00:09:07 Yeah, okay. Okay. Okay. So she told us about how you two met and had some really nice things to say about you, and she was hoping that maybe she could see you again. She's wondering why that isn't happening yet. Um, yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Are you single, Lee? Because maybe she read the whole thing wrong. I am single. It was kind of a weird vibe. Weird vibe? When? Like when I'm talking to you right now or on the date with Danielle? No, on the date, which didn't really feel like much of a date.
Starting point is 00:09:44 I'm just not sure what it was to be honest with you okay can i ask this were you initially attracted to danielle because she said like you paid for her coffee because she didn't have enough money to cover it yeah that's the thing uh i'm not sure she didn't have enough money to cover it what what do you mean why she just seemed like she kind of had an agenda like the agenda i think was to go on a date with you yeah pay for her coffee yeah drink her coffee and eat her muffin yeah well here's the thing she i mean she came up and said you know she didn't have enough money for the coffee so i helped her out and next thing i know we're sitting down and talking about her whole health and wellness thing.
Starting point is 00:10:27 She goes into all about her business, and I'm just asking myself, did I walk into some kind of pyramid scheme or something? What? Wait, what? I mean, when you sit down with people and you're getting to know them, they like to tell you about what they do for a living. That's not someone trying to scam you. Well, OK, but it was like 60 percent about her business and like 40 percent about getting to know each other. Did it feel like a pitch? Is that what you're saying? Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Oh, yeah. Oh, I don't know what I was in a sorority, and there's like half of those women that are still trying to sell me stuff online. What are you guys friends with then, bro? I don't understand. What did she say to you that made it feel like it was a pitch? Did she ask you for money or something? More money?
Starting point is 00:11:17 She just seemed really polished, you know, like said a lot of things like getting in on the ground floor, like looking for investors. And it made me wonder, like, how many guys has she done this to? Yeah. What? I don't know. I kind of feel him on that one sometimes.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Yeah, but she went on another date with him, though. Yeah, I mean, just because someone is really excited about their job and is excited that they started it, unless they actually ask you for money, I'm not buying that she's trying to pitch you something. It's when you're into the oils and stuff. Yeah. Or the energy supplements. What are we talking? What was she selling?
Starting point is 00:11:51 You know, the typical health and wellness stuff, essential oils. I don't even know. I kind of tuned out, to be honest with you. That's probably good. Wait, you still think that she was just talking about her job, Jeff? I mean, we talked to her on the phone and she never pitched us on anything. She never asked us for money or asked us to get in on the business.
Starting point is 00:12:11 You know what? She might have. You had her on the phone long enough. Interesting. You should say that because she actually is on the phone right now. What are you talking about? I mean, she's been listening in on this conversation and she wants to talk to you lee hey okay here we are sorry man well uh so hi hi hi yeah this is plenty awkward
Starting point is 00:12:42 danielle we need to ask you was the interaction in the line with Lee, was that created on purpose? I mean, not exactly. Oh. I knew it, man. I mean, too polished and too rehearsed. I mean, I look back, you know, when I was leaving, too, and you had, like, flyer and a business card for me and stuff. Oh, boy. What? I mean,, too, and you had, like, a flyer and a business card for me and stuff. Oh, boy. What?
Starting point is 00:13:06 I mean, I did want to meet you. Huh. So wait. Okay. Okay, wait. Lee, you can appreciate, you know, a woman who is, she's got a lot of hustle in her. Does she? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:13:16 She's trying. But, Danielle, did you, were you actually romantically interested in him, or was this just, you just saw dollar signs, like this was a money interaction for you no not at all i mean he looks like super cute you're super cute i buy it i buy it okay i i believe danielle like i'm not hearing polished and like sharp when i when i talk to daniel you're a part of a lot of pyramid schemes you don't know it if i was in one i, he would be my first victim. Well, some scammer isn't going to accidentally follow you home and be like, oops, I don't know where my car is.
Starting point is 00:13:52 Beep, beep. That doesn't sound like somebody that's in on a scam. She's acting different right now. I mean, you should have seen her in there. She was going through a whole stale pitch. It was totally polished. So now she's more off guard. Here's my thing danielle even if like that was originally your plan why didn't you drop it when you thought that you liked this guy i mean i was
Starting point is 00:14:13 like two birds with one stone oh she's like i kind of want to hear what the pitch is because I'm not really interested. You know, Jeff, I can send you an email with my information and what I do, and it will definitely be lucrative. Oh, okay. Sounds polished. Yeah. What are we talking about, like essential oils? We're doing body butter or like kelp tape? I don't want to hear about it.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Kelp tape? Yes, essential oils, toxic-free cleaning, all of that good stuff. Did you guys just call me so I can hear the whole sale pitch again? Come on, Lee. This is a once in a lifetime sort of deal. Apparently now that Jeff's selling, yeah. I'll go in half with you. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:14:55 We're going to be millionaires, man. No. I don't want to get in on the ground floor. I'm taking the elevator and jumping off the roof. Oh, I like Lee. I mean, it sounds like you guys still have a lot to talk about. Oh, I like Lee. I mean, it sounds like you guys still have a lot to talk about. Oh, I don't think so. Whether it's romantically or business-wise,
Starting point is 00:15:11 and we'd like to make that happen by sending you out on a date. We will pay for that date. I'm going to pass on that. I mean, even if Danielle promised not to pitch you anything and left business out of it? I don't think that's going to happen. I mean, I can try, but I mean, I'm passionate about what I do. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:15:28 Okay. All right. Danielle, you tried to pitch him on your business and that didn't work, but maybe if you pitched him on love. You have the floor, Danielle. Ten seconds. Go ahead. Oh, gosh. Are you sure it wasn't because, like, I didn't pay you back the $2?
Starting point is 00:15:43 Oh, okay. That's a terrible pitch, Danielle. Back to the money. I'll pay you $2 just to leave me alone. Oh, wow. I'll take that. I want to get in on that. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
