Starting point is 00:02:41 in the morning, and this is the second day podcast. Thanks for being here. The only disappointing news yesterday about Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift's engagement is that now she's never going to call us for a second date. I was like, what is? I was so sure it was going to happen one day.
Starting point is 00:02:59 She does need us to play matchmaker for her I always thought she'd call into the show and be like Why isn't he calling me back but it won't happen now And then thank us for playing her music so much Hey maybe they'll end up in an awkward Tuesday or something Oh okay you never know So a huge congrats of course from us I think she's such a cool person and I'm glad she inspires other people
Starting point is 00:03:20 Yeah They've been so great Yeah so we have some non-famous people doing a second date update today That's what we really care about They could be, we don't know that. That's true. It's brand new. But before we get to it, let's read a comment.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Yeah, Abby said, I love you guys. And I always listen when I'm gasping for air on the Stairmaster at the gym. And you make the time go by easier. Wait, why would you listen then? You're going to be, like, laughing and out of breath at the same time. It's good for your cardio. And your butt looks amazing. Yeah, keep going on the Stairmaster.
Starting point is 00:03:52 There you go. Good for you. All right, your brand new second date podcast starts right now. Second Date Update. Is there anything sadder than being out and seeing somebody else getting stood up for a date? Oh, that's so sad. Yeah, the sadder part is being the person stood up, Jeff. Alexis, why are you smiling so big, though?
Starting point is 00:04:12 Why are you like a giant smirk on your face? Okay. How long are they going to wait, you know? It's someone's misery. Where are they going to stay an hour, two hours? She's like, that's a prime spot at the bar. I get to, like, slide in. But for one of our listeners, seeing somebody get stood up was actually,
Starting point is 00:04:29 the best thing to ever happen to him. Because apparently he turned that woman's loss into his game. I see. He did move in. So let's talk to Joseph about it. Joseph, welcome to the show. Hey, guys. How are you? Oh, my goodness. We can't wait to hear this story.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Yeah. What happened? You saw a woman get stood up somewhere? Yes, so I went to this Mexican restaurant after I got off work and I was going to just meet my buddy at the bar. Yeah. But I get to the bar and there's only one seat open and it's next to this woman and she you know she's very very pretty
Starting point is 00:05:01 and her name is Sabrina I didn't know that at times so I go hey if I sit down here she goes actually it's reserved I have a date coming and I was like well would you mind if I just sat here until my friend got here because like nowhere else me to sit she goes she thinks about it for a moment she goes yeah that's fine you can sit okay so she's planning on kicking you out yeah yeah she was waiting for a guy and so you know I sit down and I started talking to her just to be polite while I'm waiting for the bartender take my water and it actually starts going well and we're talking now it goes on to like 10 minutes
Starting point is 00:05:34 and I said hopefully this guy didn't stand you up and she's like yeah I hope so too I get a drink I say to her what do you want she gets a drink so now we're both drinking oh you're moving in you're like you're not even waiting for the whether or not the guy stood you up you're texting your friend you're like hey don't come yeah that's exactly what I did I said to him don't come inside yet wait for my signals are really pretty girls there I think she's being stood up. Okay. Okay. Because now it's 15 minutes. She thought this guy was coming any second. He's still not there.
Starting point is 00:06:04 So we're drinking. I'm buying her drinks. And then she gets a text that the guy has canceled on her. Oh. Dude, what a jerk, but also, way to turn lemons into margaritas. Yeah. So I text
Starting point is 00:06:20 my friend, you know what? Turn around. Turn around. Turn the car around. I don't need you tonight. You know it's a good buddy when he's like, yeah. All right. Good luck. Yeah. He's He gets it. He'd do the same thing to me. He'd blow up my car to be with a hot check. Wow. So now all of a sudden you have an insta day with the sad woman at the bar. Yeah. So I tell her, let's since we're both here, we both got stood up. Let's get a booth. We get a booth. I tell her, she has beautiful eyes.
Starting point is 00:06:45 It's a good vibe. It's like really fun. There's a baby next table. The babies are throwing chips. So we start, like, throwing chips at the baby in a fun way. I thought I misunderstood what you just said. I love this. That's a good vibe for a date for. for you? I mean, we're having fun with this baby. I mean, you know. Yeah, you're not going to fight the baby. You're just going to, you know, you're not holding a tortilla chip to the baby's throat. It's just like, light and playful.
Starting point is 00:07:08 I didn't do that, yeah. It sounds like your guys' vibe is really natural together. Yeah, you're in your own world. Yeah, we start we start having a food fight together, like chips, maybe a little bit salsa, and she goes like, oh, you got some sauce on your cheeks. And she kisses me on the teeth. Wow.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Ew. Yeah. Salsic. This is like all in 40 minutes. Wow. She made the first move even. Yeah, I'm shocked. It was going small. I was like really shocked. Okay. It's so fun, too, and it's like something you haven't planned.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Yeah. So it's not like you had any nerves going into it. And I'm sure you would have done the same sort of things if your bro was there with you. So it's nice that you're able to do it to a woman instead. Throwing chips of babies. Yeah, throw them kids. Yeah, licking sauce off each other's cheeks. That's what you do. It's just what bros do when we go out for, like, Mexican. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:56 Hell yeah. Yeah. Okay. So, I mean, this is turning into what sounds like the best date ever. Yeah. It's not only that. It's the best date in the history of all date. Whoa. Wow. Whoa. Okay, this pedestal has just been risen. Like, that is a really high place to put it. I need to high-five that baby for being the best wingman ever. So, I mean, what happens after Mexican food? I went back to her plate and we hung out. Okay. So, like, 2 a.m. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Did you talk at all? No, we sat there in silence. Yeah, we told. I didn't mean sitting there in silence. If there was physical activities happening. We had a really good time. Okay. So, yeah, the last thing I said there was, when can I to you again?
Starting point is 00:08:42 I really want to. She was like, well, I have this work trip the next day. And then she said something a little weird. She was like, I'm hoping not to run into my ex because it's where I'm from. It's in my hometown. Oh. Oh.
Starting point is 00:08:54 You could also think of it as like she's so comfortable with you that she's just talking right? Like maybe she didn't mean like if she had been more guarded she probably wouldn't have said something like that. Speaking her thoughts. Yeah. Or she knows she might get back with him. Yeah. I mean, was that
Starting point is 00:09:09 what I'm thinking? Was that going through your mind when she said that, Joseph? It wasn't, but she ended it with I'm going to be back in a few days. And now it's been six days and there's no answer. And I'm wondering now, did she run into him? And are they back together?
Starting point is 00:09:24 Yeah. So you've texted her in that time? and she's not responding to you, or what's happening? She's not responding. Yeah, she has responded. Oh, at all. Oh. Bro, I know we're normally the other way around,
Starting point is 00:09:35 but have you considered that you just met someone at the bar, had a fun night, and that's all they want? Like... I think she would have been more clear about that towards the end or, you know, kind of blew me off, but she was so, like, into me, and she seemed so excited to see me again. I just, I don't think that's the case at all, guys.
Starting point is 00:09:51 Well, you can feel the energy. We can't, you know, so it's different. I'm back with my ex is going to be a real simple answer. I don't know why she couldn't just text that If that's the case True Or is it possible It was just you know
Starting point is 00:10:02 How they say Mexican food is an aphrodisiac Maybe that was like rolling over And now that the Mexicans worn off Those weren't blue corn tortillas I do love tacos So you said it's been six days She's not answering anything you're sending her It's not looking great
Starting point is 00:10:17 But hopefully we can get her on the phone And she'll pick up for us We'll get you some answers About your impromptu date At the Mexican restaurant With your second date update right after this. Thank you. I mean, we got to do this for the best date in all of history. Oh, sure. Sure. Sure. Yeah. So hold on.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Second date update. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning, and we're in the middle of a second date update with one of our listeners, Joseph, who kind of lucked into the best date of his entire life. Yeah, he did. When he was at a Mexican restaurant, there was one seat open at the bar, and the woman right next to him got stood up for her date. So they ended up talking, grabbing some drinks, got some food, ended up back at her place where he didn't leave until two in the morning. Why does your voice get lower and slower as you just describe it, Jeffrey? Because it's sexy, bro. How else am I supposed to describe the best date in the history of all mankind? And the last thing that she said to him, and this is key, at least for Joseph, is I'm going to be going on a work trip to my hometown and I just hope I don't run into my ex. So Brooke, what are the percentages that that actually happened
Starting point is 00:11:30 and she met up with her ex-boyfriend? Are we talking 50-50 here, 2080, 100? I think it's 100% that she definitely hooked up with her ex over the weekend. Oh, excuse me. But that doesn't mean they're back together. Yeah, true. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:11:46 Usually hook up and then you're like, yeah, I see why we did this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't like you. You're putting this in my head. I really don't. Just trying to prepare you. I will take the other angle and say there is no chance that she met up with her ex-boyfriend and she was thinking about you the entire time she was at work.
Starting point is 00:12:05 She so nervous, her fingers are so sweat, she can't dial you or text you. I think, what a cute, naive world you live in. Yeah, she didn't even type anything on her work laptops. It was just your name over and over and over again, the entire trip. Wow. That's what I'm thinking happened. Hopefully. That wouldn't be a red flag.
Starting point is 00:12:22 Okay, yeah, hopefully. That would be scary, dog. Okay, but let's find out. We'll see what actually happened if she picks up the phone. I'm going to dial her number right now, but here we go. Hello? Hey, is this Sabrina? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Awesome. So, hey, Sabrina, thank you for picking up. You are on a radio show right now. We're called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Hello. Good morning. It's not the rental car place? No.
Starting point is 00:12:54 No. I'm confused. Why would the radio show call me? Well, we can't return whatever you forgot in your rental car. That's what always happens to me, too. I'm legally not allowed to run a car. Sorry, I don't know what's going on with that, but we're a show. We do a segment on this show called The Second Date Update, which is where we help out our listeners.
Starting point is 00:13:14 If they've gone out with somebody or had a fun romantic encounter, in your case, we try to help them reconnect and figure out if there's a chance at a second meetup. okay okay so popular segment yeah and we're doing this on behalf of one of our listeners that met you the other day it's a guy named joseph joseph oh my god i was gonna call him later oh is he like jumping the gun like you just just got home and you haven't had time to talk to him no no i just got my phone back today because i left it that's why i thought it was the rental car place i left my phone in the rental car and then it took him like five or six days to get it back to me. So I just got it today. Oh, that's great, dude. This is a normal one then. Okay. Yeah. This is just a misunderstanding. Dude, that's awesome. So you were
Starting point is 00:14:05 going to call Joseph today and get another date set up. Yes. I've been thinking about him this whole time. You were right, Jeff. Yeah, of course I'm right. So, look, Sabrina. Never saying that again. Yeah. Sabrina, sorry to do this to you, but the whole reason that we called is Joseph reached out. He told us about your date at the Mexican restaurant said it was the best hangout he's ever had. Does that mean you think the same? Was it the best day ever?
Starting point is 00:14:32 Oh, my God. He said that? Yes. Oh, this is awesome. He said the best date in the history of all dates if we want to do it. Let's not put too much pressure. He is so sweet. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:14:43 I feel like an idiot. No, don't. Don't. Dude, he's going to be so relieved because he thought it was something that he did and that's why you weren't college. He had heard from you in days and days. Oh, this is so cute.
Starting point is 00:14:57 Well, can you guys just tell him that what I said, that I, that I do want to see him again? Can you tell him for me? Well, this is the best part. Sure. We could, but you've kind of already told him because he's actually on the phone with us right now on the other line listening to this. What? Oh, my God. Joseph is on here?
Starting point is 00:15:15 Yeah, that's how this segment works. We have them waiting on the other line. So, Joseph, are you there, man? Yeah, I'm here. Hey. Hey, Joseph, you must be so happy. Yeah, I can't imagine what you're feeling right now. Talk to Sabrina.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Hey, Sabrina, what's up? It's Joseph. She pretty much said that. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I really was going to call you. Yeah, no, I'm sorry that I did through a radio show. I just had such an amazing night, and I want more than one night with you.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Oh. That's so cute. Oh, you are so sweet. Like, you have no idea. I literally miss the sound of your voice. Wow. Really? They are really on the same page.
Starting point is 00:15:58 Yeah. For real? Seriously. Your voice is so sexy. I just love... Wait. Should we get off the phone? I love the way you say cassidia.
Starting point is 00:16:10 Oh, well, in that case, cassidia. Okay. Oh. My son was on the phone. No way. No one has to dial a 900 number to hear stuff like this. I don't even want to get into a...
Starting point is 00:16:22 smothered burrito. Yeah. I don't suggest things. Are you there? Yeah. Yeah, I'm here. I'm really serious. If you were with me right now, I would totally kiss you.
Starting point is 00:16:33 You'd like. I would. You said kissed? I would kiss you 10 times. I would kiss you so much more that I couldn't kiss you anymore. Okay. This is too cute. Well, hold on.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Then what would Joseph do after the 10 days? Jeffrey. I mean, that's not going to stop me, Sabrina. I am a kissing machine. around. I'm kissing the shoe. It's what every girl wants. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Okay. Well, I'm sensing and maybe I'm reading this wrong that there's a little bit of a connection. There's like too much chemistry. Jeffrey's the only one in the room that's comfortable. Yeah. I'm feeling a vibe.
Starting point is 00:17:11 So, Joseph... I mean, you are cute. Yeah, Joseph, this is sounding like the best news ever for you. You're just really relieved. Like, Sabrina, I was so worried that when you went on your work trip. I thought you might have seen your ex and something happened.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Oh, we forgot about that. Oh, yeah. I did see him. Oh, oh. We don't need to discuss this, though. But, Sabrina, like, you didn't do anything with him, right? Oh, no. I mean, I'm just so excited to see you again.
Starting point is 00:17:39 That's right, Sabrina. There we go. That's the question. Everyone does it. It's fine. You didn't answer my question, though. You didn't hook up with your ex, right? I don't know how much I should go into it with you.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Yeah. Not at all. Oh, my God. You hooked up with it. You hooked up with him, didn't you? Oh, don't do that. You don't understand. It takes a while to break off an engagement.
Starting point is 00:18:02 It doesn't just happen automatically. Wait, wait, wait, wait, what? Wait, are you still engaged? Whoa. Wait, you're... Hold on. You're engaged this guy? Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:18:10 Well, technically, but we weren't even in the same city, except for this past weekend. But I don't even want that to be a thing. Wait, wait, what? Currently engaged. Yeah, soon. to be X. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Okay, wait a second. I'm not verbally involved with him, like, today. That's not even a distinguished thing. Like, you don't, no. But, like, emotionally, I'm distancing myself. Okay. No, emotionally, you're cheating on him. Is the wedding happening or?
Starting point is 00:18:39 Guys, I just want to know physically. I don't care about verbally or emotionally. Bro, it's a yes. I don't even know. And it's a yes. Come on, man. Like, are you sure? Jeff, don't know.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Yes. Because it's at this point that I would like to ask if you would be willing, Sabrina, to go out with Joseph one more time. She can't. She's taken. She's engaged to another dude. I'm sorry. Should I have asked that question earlier when they were talking about being kissing machines on each other? Perfect. And it was the best date ever. Yes. Like five minutes ago. That was my bad. But Sabrina, the offer still stands. We'll offer to pay for a date. We're going to pay. My answer is yes. My answer is yes.
Starting point is 00:19:16 She's distancing herself from her current fiancé. emotionally and verbally, not quite physically yet, but that happens every time you go meet up with your exes. I'm working on it, you guys. We won't be together in a month, I promise. A month. That's so long. Just break up with a man.
Starting point is 00:19:35 Because Joseph, she did say yes. You heard it. She wants to see you again. Let's put everything else aside, including her engagement to another man. And you're more. I need to hear from you. Is it a yes to another date with Sabrina? And I want you to remember to think with your heart, not with your head.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Jeff, you're talking nonsense. Okay, mute Brooks' mic, please. Thank you. Joseph, the question was directed to you? You better say no, Joseph. I mean, I want to hang out with you again, but I have to wait until you're done. So, just can you just talk to me after? Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 00:20:07 Because you can totally believe her when she says, yeah, we're totally broken up. Joseph, you might have to say the word cassidia one more time in order to get her back on your side. Oh, God. Oh, that's what I love. I feel good. That's so weird. I feel good about this, and now I don't have to dial that 1-900 number later. You really found the sweet spot, too. This was great. Successful second date update, everybody. How are you not apologizing right now for even putting the date on the table, dude? What are you talking about? She's engaged. How many times do you have to hear that to understand it? I can guarantee that guy does not know he's soon to be X.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Emotionally, she's not engaged. in her heart she's not Oh my God She's not even wearing the ring Oh round when she's not around her fiancé And he's never around because he's far away back in their hometown She never even sees the guy And she promised us that in a month
Starting point is 00:23:05 He'll probably be gone maybe We never even brought up the fact that she was waiting For a different guy to go on a date with Oh my God She is like actively dating I hear what you're saying She's a catch and it's really nice that he was able to lock her down.
Starting point is 00:23:21 Out of all the men, Joseph came out on top. Oh, my God. So that is a big win for us. Congratulations to us for making this happen.
