Start listening to Scam Goddess on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I got my coffee. Then we're officially ready to go. Oh, what's like what did you get today? Well, I get it every morning that I don't have time to make my own.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Oh, okay. Yeah, I get it as American. Conno. Oh. Oh. What are you guys talking about? Blonde espresso, one pump brown sugar with sweet cream. Half inch. Sweet cream nice touch. I like that. I don't know. It costs an extra dollar. No, it really does. Wild to me. But, uh, yeah, sorry. Ashton, do you have anything to say about coffee? No. All right. No comment. I heard Brooks say coffee's on her right after that. Oh, that's right. That's right. That's what I do. Yeah. All right. Let's get to your brand new second date episode. That's what you're actually here for. Yes. Apologize for the, for the side track. Yes. But what? But what?
Starting point is 00:03:30 What do we get in comments first? Yeah, Emily May said, the more I listen to your show, the more afraid I am of the public, but I can't stop. Yeah, that's accurate. Accurate. All right. Let's add to that fear. It all begins right now. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Second date update. Normally it takes couples 10 to 15 years to reach the point where you're saying, I love him, but oh, my God, do I hate him sometimes. Why do we all know what you mean, kind of? Our listener, Hannah, says she's already there on date number one. Wow. Wait, wait. Why is she wanting to call him back? She's got a few complaints that she needs to air out here on the show, but probably the main one is that he hasn't set up another hangout with her.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Maybe it's like a Benjamin Buttons type of thing for dating. Like they start off real in that. And then it gets into the honeymoon. Let's find out. Let's talk to her. Hannah. Ugh, men, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Totally. She's like, that's weird. I feel like we can start any second day with that. Yeah, totally. I am sorry about our entire species, but tell us what's this low life's name? Oh, my God. I'm low life. He's not a low life. He's really cute. His name is Paul. All right. Pauls are always likable.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Sounds hot but annoying. I'm with you, Brooke. You were on one today. I'm not sure why you hate Paul so much because it sounds like she doesn't. Yeah, she likes him. Let's find out. What do you hate about him and what do you like about him? I mean, like, I like him a lot, but I also kind of hate him at the same time, which I think it was a good combo. Oh, you like that? Okay. Okay. What initially attracted you to him?
Starting point is 00:05:10 Well, you know, we matched on the app. Yeah. And honestly, like, to just be 100% honest, I was very attracted to his car. His car? Wait, a guy posted a car photo on a dating app, but it actually worked. It's got to be like a Lambo or a Porsche or the minimum. What kind of car? It's a G-wagon And Mercedes G-wagon He looked really good next to it Okay
Starting point is 00:05:33 But when he's not next to it It's like eh Mid No okay Did he reach out to you first? Yeah we chatted like a bit And then he Asked me out
Starting point is 00:05:44 And of course like I wanted him to pick me up And at a car right Because you never know If it's his car Like a random car On the side of the street Okay
Starting point is 00:05:52 Yeah Please don't tell me It was in the shop For some reason Yeah No, he pulled up in his G-Wagon, and he was, like, way cuter in person. Thank God. Oh, that's a nice.
Starting point is 00:06:05 So what was that first interaction with him, like, in person? How'd that go? So that's where we run into the first issue. Oh, really? Oh, God. What did Paul do? He comes to the door and then say hello, and he told me that I needed to change because what I was wearing was inappropriate. What?
Starting point is 00:06:26 Wait, wait, wait. It could be, like, inappropriate because he had a hiking date or a fancy restaurant planned. Or his mom is wearing that the same night. He doesn't want to create the tension. Did you ask him what he meant by inappropriate? Yeah, of course. And, like, I really didn't think it was a big deal. Like, we were just going to go get food somewhere.
Starting point is 00:06:45 So we, like, kind of argued a bit. And, of course, I won and was, like, I'm not going to change. It's important to establish early on in the relationship that he's going to be wrong. Like, doesn't matter what he thinks you are right. It felt like a power move by him that totally failed. Yeah. I don't know. Like, maybe his heart wasn't the right place about it, but regardless, I go into his
Starting point is 00:07:08 wagon and he tells me where he's going to take me to eat. And I was like, no, I don't think so. Wait, so you know, this is your second argument already. You guys haven't even left for dinner yet. Why did you say no? Because you weren't dressed for that? Yeah. I mean, I like what I like.
Starting point is 00:07:27 And, like, for some reason, I was, like, really in the mood for finger food. So I was, like, let's go to the zoo. The zoo? You don't hear a lot of people saying, I'm going to the zoo for the food. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. You guys, the food at the zoo is so good and it's so fun. Is it?
Starting point is 00:07:46 What was his response to the zoo? He, like, was, like, okay, fine. Okay. All right. Well. It sounds like he's into it. It sounds like maybe we know why. Because you were dressed for the zoo.
Starting point is 00:07:58 He was obviously maybe thinking a nicer restaurant. Now I understand maybe the outfit. It's a lot of different. They have mini bags of Doritos there, Brooke. What more could you want? Yeah, I know how this sounds, but we had good chemistry. Like, we are a good match. And I was having a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:08:16 We were like eating a bit, walking around the zoo. Okay. I mean, it is a good first date. And speaking to our chemistry, sometimes couples. bond over the fact that they like to have fun bickering with each other. Like that is their love language. Oh.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Yeah. So you were into it. You really liked it. Yeah. Did you get any vibes from him that he was feeling the same? You know, like sometimes you can just kind of tell when a guy's over you or just like done with you for the day. No. Like nobody related?
Starting point is 00:08:50 No idea. You have reached your three hour limit. with me. That's all I can take. What do you mean by that? Like, he was bored? I don't know. Just, like, unresponsive to, like, the things I was saying. And I don't know, like, maybe he was tired or something. But, like, he
Starting point is 00:09:05 drove me home. Yeah. And then in the car, I, like, brought it up. I was like, like, look, I know like you're annoyed or whatever, but, like, Oh, my God. Oh, wow. If you think I'm high maintenance, it is because, like, I'm worth it. Oh, that usually goes over well. He was, like, unresponsive.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Oh, what a nash. And then he drops me off, and then he's leaving, and he, like, heals out. Oh, whoa. So mature. There's still marks on my sidewalk. Like, you can still see them. To his defense, the G-Wagon's got a crazy expensive engine. He can't help it, probably.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Yeah. He's literally living here in the dust. Yeah. But after all this has happened, you're still reaching out to us, hoping to see him one more time, or at least his car. Look, we are a good match. Like, I know how all of it sounds. but we really are like good together. And I just, I want you to call him so that I can hear from him.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Okay. All right. Okay. You know, he may not feel the same. He may see this as like, that was a lot of work. Well, yeah, he may think that, but he's wrong. Oh. All right, we'll just tell him that.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Yeah. Like, just let him know. You were wrong about her. Go back out. Yeah. How you feel is wrong. It's not going to be a question. It's going to be a statement.
Starting point is 00:10:21 That's right. We're going to power. that into his brain until he says yes to another date with you when we do your second date update right after this brook and geoffrey in the morning second date update if you're just joining us our listener hannah says that she really likes this guy paul yeah but also kind of hates him at the same time they have one of those relationships where they flirt by kind of bickering with each other or at least that's what she thinks yeah that's how she describes about all sorts of stuff what to wear where to eat, how long to stay at the zoo before you've seen enough.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Why are you annoyed with me right now? Tell me what's going on. Because that's where they spent their first date until Paul just seemed over it and decided to drive her home. But again, Hannah swears, they just had that chemistry that ends with somebody shouting, oh, so now we're bringing that up. Really? Okay. Sounds so fun.
Starting point is 00:11:17 And she's wondering why he doesn't want to do that again. Brooke, do you have any guesses? You know, I can't put my finger on anything, Jeff. It's very strange. Why are you trying to put your fingers places, Brooke? We didn't agree on that. Yeah, well, I'll ask permission next time. There you can.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Hannah, I forget. Have you reached out to him again and he's not calling you back or were you just expecting him to contact you? I reached out once and he didn't respond and then I texted again and he didn't respond and now it's like rude. Was your second text? What's your problem? why are you not responding to my group? I'm actually a voice memo saying that. No. Listen, I know I can be a lot, right?
Starting point is 00:11:56 I know how maybe you think this is coming off, but I really like him. And I think he would really like me once he gets to know me more. Well, and I think it sounds like maybe he's a lot, too. I mean, he's the one that started the first argument. I mean, you should not forget that. But we are all willing to tell him that he's wrong about whatever he's feeling negatively towards you. So let's put that into his brain.
Starting point is 00:12:17 Yes, please. You guys, I don't meet a lot of cute guys with heads. who's in G. Wiggins. Okay. Okay. That is a very niche group. Someone's ever been to Miami. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:27 So let's just dial his number. Hopefully he'll pick up and then we can proceed. But here we go. Okay. Hello. Hey, is this Paul? Yeah. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:12:43 Do we have a surprise for you, Paul? I don't know if you're going to be happy that you answered the phone or not, but you're on the radio right now with a show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Hey, Paul. Good morning, bro. What? How many people are on the phone? Yeah, enough. Yeah, a room full.
Starting point is 00:13:00 And we're here to tell you we think you may have messed up, bro. We're just going to start off with it. Yeah. I like that. Wow, aggressive, Jeff. I'm just saying you may have made some mistakes in your love life. Is this some kind of like weird marketing thing? We're marketing our friend.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Yeah. That would be strange. Now, this is a segment we do called the Second Date Update. We're trying to help one of our listeners that you, went on a date with, get in touch with you again. A girl named Hannah. Hannah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:32 Oh, my God. The last? Yeah. That's a pass. I'm going to pass. Wait. Oh, no. You're wrong about that.
Starting point is 00:13:40 You're not going to pass. Tell him, Jeff. You're going to hear us out a little bit at least because Hannah's confused why there hasn't been a second meetup. She told us about your first date, and it seemed like an A-plus. To her. He's kidding a little bit there. He knows it wasn't perfect.
Starting point is 00:13:57 I would love to hear his side of this day. Yes. I wouldn't love it, but I'll accept it. Okay. Well, from the beginning, it was bad. Really? Oh, because of the clothes. Yeah, what are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:14:12 Well, I go to pick her up, and I walked up to her door, and I ring the doorbell, and she takes a wild answer. I'm like, oh, maybe she's still getting ready. she answers the door wearing SpongeBob Square Pants, pajamas, and little fuzzy slippers. Oh, what's that? Super comfy mode. She was in slippers?
Starting point is 00:14:36 Like, it was like she wasn't dressed here? Yeah, she was still getting ready? No, that's what she planned to wear. To the date. Oh, the day. So, okay. You had planned a dinner, we heard, and that's why you said that wasn't an appropriate outfit.
Starting point is 00:14:50 Yeah, well, I thought maybe I was early or something, And I was like, am I early? Like, no. I was like, well, we're going to dinner. You got to go change, please. Okay. Yeah, you can't wear pajamas to a restaurant. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:02 I don't let my kids do it either. Yeah. I get it. Maybe I hop. Like, if it's a breakfast? Sure. Sure. But Hannah told us that she said that you just came up and told her that you didn't like her outfit.
Starting point is 00:15:13 We didn't know that it was SpongeBob PJs and fuzzy slippers. I thought it was like too sexy. And maybe that was a bad assumption. No, it was not sexy. Oh, okay. Well, she disagree on SpongeBob, but yeah. So she gets into your G-Wagon wearing SpongeBob PJs. She wore the slippers to the zoo, too?
Starting point is 00:15:32 Yeah, she told you where we went. Yeah. Well, she told us that she changed the plan. Yeah, and went to the best food in the city. Well, you know, I'm like, screw it, you know. Like, I had reservations at an ice restaurant, but I wasn't about to take her there. Like, sure, I guess it was a zoo attire. Actually, that was an out for it.
Starting point is 00:15:53 you. Maybe she's just fun and like young at heart, right? That can be a plus in a relationship. No, but she told me she doesn't even like animals. She just likes the food at the zoo. Who doesn't like animals? Well, oh no.
Starting point is 00:16:08 She likes the food at the zoo. She should have said that part. Dude, I bet fair season is really great for her. Probably she'd be into that because she ordered like a triple order of curly fries when we were there. Don't try to make that a bad thing. I know. Why all of a sudden is Hannah turning into Jose's dream girl.
Starting point is 00:16:25 Actually, yes. Yeah. And she's high maintenance still somehow. I love this. That part is the weird piece for me. But I can't quite put together. She's like, nice G-wagon. Let me put on my nicest sweats.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Yeah. Honestly, Paul, I think you're coming off a little bit judgmental. And you have, I think you're having the wrong read on Hannah. And don't take it from me. Take it from Hannah herself, who's on the other line listening, waiting to talk to you. What is probably not what she's going to do. Hannah? You there?
Starting point is 00:16:53 Oh, why didn't you call me? No, no, I don't like this. I don't like this at all. Why are you doing this? I know that I'm different, but I really like you, okay? Okay. That's nice. That's sweet.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Tell them why. No, tell them what you're wearing. Is it Sesame Street today? My little pony? Who are picky monster action? You guys, stop, okay? I'm working on her. Oh, sorry.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Excuse us. Let her cook. Go for it, Hannah. Talk to Paul. Paul, I know that we may be disagreed on what I should be wearing. But I think if you got to know me a little more, like went on another date, we would have such a good time and we'd be such a good match. Why are you doing this? I don't know why you like me.
Starting point is 00:17:44 We didn't even get along. What? I thought there was good vibes. What are you talking about? I'm serious. We didn't get along. I mean, us matching. is like matching champagne and slim jips.
Starting point is 00:17:57 Oh. Wow. What do you think about that, Hannah? That was low. Be charitin for second go together. I've literally had that. Of course, you got it. I'm serious.
Starting point is 00:18:11 She's kind of right, though. She's one extreme. You're another extreme. Maybe you two together are like a nice little middle. Gin and Yang. Yeah. I don't know. Our first thing was so frustrating.
Starting point is 00:18:21 I just, it couldn't last. Like, I'm thinking long term. There's no way. Okay, okay, okay. Nothing lasts without maintenance, right? Like your G-Wagon, for example, and just like that. You have to put care and maintenance into it to keep it running and well and happy. Okay.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Yeah, but my G-wagon was perfect when I got it. It was a prefect. I don't know that that was the right analogy for you, Hannah. It worked on me. I thought it was great. I think, yeah, it makes sense. If you test drive a car and you don't like it, there's nothing wrong with the car. There's something wrong with you.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Yeah, you keep driving. That's it. You're missing out if you don't go out with me at least one more time. Just to see what she wears at the next date. Yeah. And the curly fries would be on us this time, Paul, because we'd be willing to pay to send you two out again. I mean, do you have any non-pajamas and do we have to play in a bowl pit? Have to or get to.
Starting point is 00:19:26 That's the mind shift that you need. It's all about perspective, Paul. I wonder if there's no animals, I'm good. Oh. I can't believe that. Really, it's not my thing. Well, running out of time, Paul. It's up to you.
Starting point is 00:19:40 What do you say? From the girl who demands to go to the zoo to eat, even though she hates animals. What do you think? Look, even though not liking animals is basically three strikes by itself. Yeah. I'm curious to see if you can change my mom. mind. All right.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Is that a yes? Yeah, sure. Yay. Wow. This guy is a pushover. Are you guys going to do a normal dinner? What are you going to do? Oh, I'll be in charge in that.
Starting point is 00:20:09 Oh. Not shocking. They serve great pizza at Jimberie, so you enjoy. Ooh, trampoline park. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. I got to say it feels good to wear somebody down to the point they give up and just reluctantly say yes. No, Jeff, that's not the message you want to. Yeah, now I know how Brooke feels talking to her husband. It's great.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Total power. I'm such a jerk. That does make sense. But I do think at some point we've got to do an update, update with this couple down the road. Do you think that they're like quirky, different enough to make it? Or is it going to just grind each other down to bloody stuff? It would be fun if they like got along. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:58 But arguing about everything is exhausting. I don't have a lot of faith. Why would you want to be in a relationship like that? Why wouldn't you want to be in a relationship like that? Yeah, you just arguing with me. See, isn't this fun? I see what you're doing. I see what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:22:12 Oh, it's great times. It's like our show. Yeah. You won't get sick of listening to it online. on our podcast. I would actually debate that one. Here we go again. I would debate it back to you.
