Starting point is 00:02:27 on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Did we ever come to a conclusion if we had another word for Hump Day yet? Like more Gen Z? I don't know. Oh, I'm trying to think of people commented on it. I don't know if they did. Okay, well, let us know.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Yeah. Because we didn't follow up on that and we apologize. It's Wednesday. We got a brand new second date update episode for you. Thank you so much for finding the official podcast. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. What is in the comments then, Alexis? If it's not helpful.
Starting point is 00:02:55 If it's not helpful, this one is helpful. I appreciate this comment. J.B. Law said, Just dropping by to share my love for you all. Listeners since 2015. Nice. My day wouldn't be complete without hearing you all. Alexis version.
Starting point is 00:03:08 Y'all are okay, I guess. Haven't found a better waste of time since 2015. So yeah, whatever. Okay. And I love that. It's better, no. That was better, the second one. That's the only compliment she could take.
Starting point is 00:03:20 It's just so good that way. Whatever. Thank you. Attraction can blossom almost anywhere. Yeah, that's true. Normally we would think of a place like a bar or a run club, maybe even a bookstore. That's cute. Wow, people go to those?
Starting point is 00:03:43 So rom-com. Yeah. Oh, whoops. I dropped my copy of How to Survive Prison for Dummies. Could you pick that up for me? That's cute. Don't pick it up. That's in the book.
Starting point is 00:03:52 You've read the book. Jose knows. But rarely have we talked to a couple who met in the middle of the middle of it. of a fight club. What? No way. That sounds romantic. Like a boxing match?
Starting point is 00:04:04 The only rule was we're not supposed to talk about fight club, Jeff. Well, I'm not in the fight club, so I think I'm allowed to talk about it. You have seen it? It is a little bit different than anything we've ever heard before, so this is going to be interesting. Let's talk to Tara about it. So, Tara, welcome to the show. Hi, guys.
Starting point is 00:04:22 Oh, you sound so sweet. Yeah. Who'd you beat up, Tara? Well, Norris, is his name? Norris. Is this Chuck? No way. No one could beat him up. What type of fight club is this? So we met at an adult jujitsu.
Starting point is 00:04:40 I can't say that three times. Oh, that makes sense. It is like a club. Jack, with a misleading intro. Yeah, oh, darn. I'm sorry. Jitsu is fighting. Maybe it's more pinning than fighting. Grapling. It is a lot of mat work. Yeah. That's for sure.
Starting point is 00:04:55 It's a good place to meet somebody. That's for sure. I guess you're right, yeah. So, okay, how did you in Norris? like strike up chemistry in jujitsu. How'd you grapple? Well, so this is like my third class and it was the first time I wasn't paired with someone with really bad breath. Oh, I didn't even think about that. I bet that's such an issue.
Starting point is 00:05:15 Okay. It's a huge issue. So, and he also made me laugh. Okay. Okay. Yeah, he's able to like kick himself down and fall on the mat. We kick his own self down? Like throw his. Yeah, like he'll kick his back leg and then he'll fall.
Starting point is 00:05:30 on the mat. That's funny. Like as a joke on purpose or he's just not coordinated? No, as a joke on purpose. Norris is bringing slapstick back. Okay. Good breath, good physical comedy.
Starting point is 00:05:44 And all of a sudden you two are off and running. Yeah, he eventually asked me out. Oh, he did. He wanted to take me to habachi, like this new Habachi restaurant. Fun. And I'm like, I'm thinking it's
Starting point is 00:05:57 Habachi's for birthdays and anniversaries. That's the only time I've been. That's kind of true. It really is. Did you bring that up to him? Yeah, I did. And he was like, oh, no, it's really chill. So, you know, I said, okay, fine, let's go.
Starting point is 00:06:12 And so just one night after class, we just went straight to dinner and he drove. Cute. And yeah, overall, I think it was a really great fun experience. We sat next to this older couple, and they were celebrating their 25th anniversary. Oh, God, you called it. I do like, see what I told you. Right. That's exactly what I said to him. I turned to him and I was like, see?
Starting point is 00:06:35 And did he kick his own leg at that point and fall off the chair onto the floor? She liked that. Yeah. She can visualize it. She's like, that is so Norris. Norris knew his audience. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:06:51 So, I mean, we chatted with them for a while and we told them it was our first date and they thought that was really cute. Oh. So the vibe. were good, but honestly, at one point, I was watching the chef do, like, his tricks with the food. Yeah. And all of a sudden I hear Norris, he's like, I have to go to the bathroom real quick. And so five minutes go by and I get a text from him and he says that he doesn't feel good and that he's in the car. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:07:18 Yeah. We didn't get our food or anything yet. Okay, so you can't blame the restaurant on this one. Oh, right. And then he then mows me the money to pay for the dinner. that we didn't even get yet. So I excuse myself on the table and I go to the car. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:34 And he's just sitting there looking so off. Like, he's not himself and he tells me he needs to drive me home immediately. Oh, buddy. I'm glad he didn't ditch you. Yeah. This one seems legit. If he's been on you the money, it seems like he's truly upset and sick. The weird part was we were laughing and joking and having a great time until the, the restroom thing.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Like, he never gave off a sign. that he was sick or anything. Weird. I feel like this is one of those that we're not going to ask a ton of details about that. I would prefer it.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Okay. Yeah, we're just going to believe him at face value, don't you think? I mean, yeah. I don't know. I don't speak. I don't speak.
Starting point is 00:08:14 I don't know. I make up the sickness. If it was... You said he looked physically unwell. Yeah. He looked off. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:21 More than anything, his voice was panicked. Oh, like he needed to get out there quick. Yeah. Oh, no. Maybe he saw the onion volcano and it was like too real.
Starting point is 00:08:31 Oh, those are so fun. A little bit scary if they get too big, though. The flame, yeah. What was the car ride like when he drove you back? Because he had to take you back to your car, right, at the jihitsu place. Yeah, did he mention that? Good job, Brooke. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:44 The car ride was awkward, full of silence. He wouldn't even look at me. Like, he didn't want to talk about it. The vibe was, don't talk about it. You can all agree. When you feel really sick, you don't want to talk or do anything. You want to be around somebody who is a track. Well, especially if it's an embarrassing sick and you're just trying to keep everything in.
Starting point is 00:09:03 He could have been clinching the whole time. Okay, we didn't need to say that part. See, this is why I don't want to ask for detail. I personally, I appreciate the visual. I want to get as many details as we can out of this situation. So how did you and Norris leave it? It was really quick. He was like, bye.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Talk to you later. What about afterwards? Have you seen him back at the judicious class? The martial arts class? I have not seen him. We've had two classes. since and he has not been there. Okay. Well, I mean, maybe he's still
Starting point is 00:09:33 sick. Like, that is very much a possibility. For two weeks? Oh, two weeks. I thought you said two classes. I was with you. Yeah, it's once a week. That's a powerful stomach bug if that's the case. Definitely a cleanse. Yeah. He's going to come back looking super slim and chic. But we'll see
Starting point is 00:09:51 what's really going on. We won't go into too much detail when we ask. Thank you. Are you sure? Yes. Or maybe we will. When we come back and do your second date update right after this. Hold on. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second Date update. Quick recap, if you're just joining us,
Starting point is 00:10:07 our listener Tara met a guy named Norris at Jujitsu class. They ended up going out for dinner at a Habachi restaurant. Sounds fun. It seemed fun. Unlike a lot of the other second date updates that we've done, he hasn't completely ghosted her. He just dipped out in the middle of dinner that night
Starting point is 00:10:23 and went and waited in his car saying he didn't feel well. And she confirmed. She went out and. saw him. He drove her home. Yeah. He definitely seemed off during the ride. He did Venmo her the money to pay for the entire meal, though, that they never actually ate.
Starting point is 00:10:37 But they drove back in total silence and hasn't been back to class for the past two weeks. So obviously, Tara, you must be thinking that there's something going on with him other than a simple food stomach issue, right? Definitely. I mean, he's a really funny guy. He's really good looking. it's probably another woman. He's funny, he's good looking, what's wrong with him? Is that what you're getting that?
Starting point is 00:11:04 That's the only thing it could be because two weeks of being sick? No, it's another woman. Okay. Okay, you think we're going to bust a cheater right now is what you think is about to happen. I'm pretty confident, yeah. Okay. Or if he's not cheating, he's at least trying to end the relationship with whatever other woman so that he could focus solely on Tara, and that's sweet.
Starting point is 00:11:26 That's still cheating. asked her out and went on on a date with her, Jeff. Okay, well, you can see the negative side of it, and I'll keep on the positive angle of it. That he's doing nice things in order to be exclusively with you. Oh, I'm sure that's what it is. That's what I'm hoping for, but let's find out. I'm going to dial this guy's number.
Starting point is 00:11:44 We'll see if he answers and hopefully can clear everything up for us. You ready? Yes. All right, here we go. Hey, is this Norris? Yeah, who is? We're not scammers. I want to say that off the top.
Starting point is 00:12:05 That always sounds trusting. when you lead that way. We don't want anything. We don't want your money or anything like that. So why are you calling me that? Why would you say that, Jeff? Just tell them we're a radio show. That's what I think when a lot of people call me out of the blue.
Starting point is 00:12:17 So that's not what this is. I mean, but we would take money. Well, yeah, we're not opposed to your money. But we're a radio show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Okay. Why are you still calling me? This is a segment that we do. It's called the second date update.
Starting point is 00:12:31 We're all we need is your social security number. I'm good. I'm kidding. I'm good. I'm good. It's a joke. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. You probably can't tell, but we're a comedy show. Oh, ha, ha, ha, tee, giggle, giggle. What's up? Hey, don't take my job.
Starting point is 00:12:47 No, so this is called the second date update where we're trying to help out a listener who's been on a date with you about two weeks ago. A woman named Tara. Oh, Tara. Yeah, I remember. Well, I hope so. You guys were in the same jiu-jitsu class that you haven't been to in two weeks. She hasn't seen you. She's really confused on what's going on with you. She isn't sure if you like her, if something else is going on that's stopping you from going back to the class. I like her.
Starting point is 00:13:17 Don't get me wrong, but I just wasn't really feeling too well at the spot. So that's why I left and whatnot, you know. Yeah, we heard that in the middle that you didn't feel good, which she wasn't upset by. I mean, that happens, man. And you dealt with it really well. You texted her. You waited in the car. Isn't that all right?
Starting point is 00:13:34 I will hope so. I mean, I mean, I wasn't going. too well. And that's fair, but the part that's weird is the two weeks that's happened afterwards, where you're not really talking to her, you haven't showed up to the jujitsu class again. So she's feeling like, is something going on? Is maybe there another girl in the picture that you're trying to hide? Nah, man, I'm not dealing with nobody right now. It's not having that kind of party. That's great news. You said a little offensive. We're not trying to accuse you of anything, bro. We're just trying to find information. Well, you got to find cops right now, man. Jeff does give off that vibe I mean, if I was going to
Starting point is 00:14:10 hire a narc, it'd be Jeff. You don't want to see what I'm packing, bro. But listen, look. Well, I dance sure don't. The thing is, if you want her to believe that there's no one else in the picture, you're fully in on her, then maybe you can help us understand
Starting point is 00:14:25 why you've been acting weird for the last two weeks. I mean, right now, I'm healing right now, you know? Like, healing? Yeah, I mean, I said early on, like, when I see, I'm not letting know what the situation is, But like right now, it's not a good time. It's not a good look for me to be doing that.
Starting point is 00:14:40 I'm still kind of embarrassed. Not a good look. What are you supposed to tell her? What are you embarrassed about? About the stomach thing? Promise that you're not going to tell her anything about it. Words won't leave these mouths. Oh, that feels bad.
Starting point is 00:14:52 Well, I'm not going to say it. All right. I find that's funny. I can hang up right now, you know, man. I don't have time for this, man. Go ahead. We're listening. We really want to hear you.
Starting point is 00:15:00 All right. So when I went to the rest of my, you know, I watched the show and everything else. through the whole Habachi bed. And nothing to me wrong with the television. It was cool, but I don't know. I think I got a little bit too close to the flame, and it burnt one of my eyebrows.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Oh, no. Yeah. Wait. No, like when they do, like, the Volcano Onion or something, at the Habachi place, it burnt your eyebrow? One of the big flames? Yeah. I felt the warmth sensation hit my face,
Starting point is 00:15:24 and the next thing I know, I looked at the mirror, and I see the whole side of my eyebrow gone, and a piece of my eyelashes, too. It was pretty crazy. Okay. So this is why you texted her from the car and you wouldn't go back into the restaurant. Yeah, like, now you go on the day, right? And you accidentally get your face singed.
Starting point is 00:15:44 You're going to feel kind of embarrassed you. Yeah. Well, the thing is... I'm in tears. Yeah. Although we work in radio, so for most of us, it'd be actually be an improvement. The smell of burning hair. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:54 It's so strong. Dude, all of it. Yeah. That is awful. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Yeah. When you say you're recovering, it's not really from a stomach issue. It's your recovery.
Starting point is 00:16:04 hovering the hair on your face. Yeah, from the hair on my face. Gotcha. Another thing, too, so, you know, we do go to class together, right? And the reason why she hasn't seen me in two weeks, because imagine me going to the class, the next thing you know, she sees half my eyebrow going. Do you know how many jokes?
Starting point is 00:16:19 I mean, aside from her being concerned about me, do you know how many people would be snickering and joking at me? No. This is what eyebrow pencils are for. You know how easy it is to fill these bad boys in? And look, I understand why you would feel that way, but I really don't think that Tara would bully you over it. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen when we tell you that she's on the other line currently listening to this call.
Starting point is 00:16:39 What? No, I thought you said. You did. You did. Oh, man. Hi, Norris. Oh, my God. Baby cakes. I'm thinking the worst. Why didn't you say something to me? Well, Amanda, you was on a date here right with me, and your hair got singed. Would you be going to feel comfortable going to date with like the happy hair with some dogs? Yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:17:08 I want to be myself with you. I mean. That is actually really cute, Lime. That's not a big deal, Norris. I know how to glue on some hair, on some eyebrows. I'm a talented. Stop, I'm a guy. I'm a guy.
Starting point is 00:17:23 I'm a couple. I'm a couple. I'm going to shake some of my peels and put it on my eyebag. Oh, my God. Norris, that's nobody. Send us a picture. We can do that, too. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:17:33 We heard you were. such a funny guy that you were like making her laugh and like you mean i am funny when it's on other people not on me i feel like you should find the humor in this like it's life it's an accident listen just give me a couple of weeks man just give me like another week or two i'll be back in full swing i promise you just give me no i want to see you tonight oh whoa i don't know that we've ever had one move this fast yeah his eyebrows like shocked right now yeah well eyebrow yeah i'm not gonna look get your eyebrows. I'm going to look in your eyes and we're going to have
Starting point is 00:18:06 a good night. Wow. I don't even know that you need to ask. I feel like we have to leave the room. I know. I do want to get more details on what's going to happen later tonight. First, we got to ask, would you two like to go out on another date and we would pay for it if you would? Yeah, I'm cool with that. She's cool with it, but
Starting point is 00:18:24 listen, don't laugh at me when you see this, okay? I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. I'll burn my eyebrow off for you. No, no way. Don't do that. No. Getting into some weird kink territory now.
Starting point is 00:18:39 You can just shave it, too. Like, you don't need to burn it. Honestly, yeah. And you too. No, don't shave it all. You don't got to do that, baby. Listen, I made a mistake. It's all good.
Starting point is 00:18:48 Listen, you just go out of it. I want you to look pretty as you need to be. Oh. All right. You're making all of our listeners in relationships insecure about themselves. So you two are clearly a good couple. We'll send you out on another day.
Starting point is 00:19:00 We just need to get you off our phones. Yeah. We were not needed in this situation. I know. We seem to work the Band-A, that was it. He wouldn't answer me. I did need you guys. All right.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Well, we're happy that you two are together and you're going to meet up. It sounds like tonight. Give them the gift card ASAP, dude. Yeah. I think the plan tonight is some horizontal jujitsu. Yeah, if you know what I mean. No, no. That's what I meant.

Starting point is 00:21:00 A lot of feelings coming up there. Dude, it's wild. I mean, I guess it's a pretty intimate. place to meet at a jitizu, you know, if you're grappling with somebody. Yeah, you're literally rolling around. Yeah, and you know you've got chemistry, then yeah. You know. They're definitely going to be making people uncomfortable at the next class when they're doing a grappling move that definitely was not taught by the instructor. That poor instructor. Why are they kissing on the mouth? I didn't know that was a self-defense.
Starting point is 00:21:27 And he's tapping. Yeah. Wow. I mean, they're the second date update update we're going to do in a couple of years, and they already have nine kids with twins on the way.
