This is a really stunning development for the AI world and how you think about your bottom line. Listen to the big take from Bloomberg News every weekday afternoon on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Oof, did we find a villain today? Hey, it's Rick and Jeffrey in the morning. And I think it's going to be hard, we're going to be hard pressed to find someone who's a fan of this woman. You'll understand why in
Starting point is 00:02:56 just a second because we're getting into our brand new second date podcast but first we always love to start with your comments yes hope faith joy said love the show i listen at work i then have to relive the show when i report back to my husband who refuses to listen he's an insta reels over ticot kind of person i should just be a part of the show at this point i'm already so involved there we are there we are we'll tell your husband to at least in the very least follow our socials at brook and geoffrey yeah on insta where he's at i guess yeah then he can get a little bit of that second second date hit on those. All right, let's go.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Second date update. Brand new starts right now. Second date update. Is singing okay on a first date or during a first meetup? Are you asking for yourself? Because you've always wanted to live inside a musical, Jeff. I mean, I do my song of the week here all the time, so I fully support that idea. But if I'm some rando going out with Alexis or Brooke, probably would not recommend a duet with them.
Starting point is 00:03:54 You don't need to hate on our singing. You're so both vocally talented. Thank you. The man would just be so intimidated by the raw. Music and art is more about effort than actual raw talent. And if you turn out enough, I sound better. See? That's the problem.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Exactly. Do you want us to sing right now? No, I don't want the listeners to be intimidated by you. But I only bring it up. Exactly, sure. I bring it up, though, because one of our listeners apparently was singing during his first meetup. I hope it was karaoke. Well, let's find out.
Starting point is 00:04:26 His name is Charlie. Charlie, welcome to the show. Hello. How are you doing? Why did you come in not singing? Charlie! Hello. Sorry, I just wanted to give him a little taste of medicine. That's what we wanted. Yeah, I'm not much of a karaoke person at all.
Starting point is 00:04:44 We thought you were a big singer. I take my solo back. It says in the email here that you sang during your first meetup. Well, I did not knowing what I guess what I was exactly getting into. Oh, okay. We put way too much pressure on him coming into this. Yeah, it's starting to make sense. It's going to be a musical.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Yeah. I'm guessing it's someone you met online, right, that set up a date? Well, no, not at all, actually. I was just at karaoke and I signed up for Bohemian Rhapsody. What? Nice, dude. You are a singer. I don't get it.
Starting point is 00:05:18 You don't like singing and you do a queen's song. Yeah. Like, that is a big song. It's a big stretch. Yeah, I, like, knew the song. So I knew all the words, but I guess I didn't realize the vocal aptitude that it required. Yeah. It is one thing when you hear a song on the radio and you're like, oh, yeah, I could do this.
Starting point is 00:05:36 And then you're up on stage, actually under the lights needing to do it. Without the words singing with you. Yeah. It sounds like maybe you bit off more than you could chew with that song. Yeah. And it's like seven minutes long. Wow. Did you at least have friends with you to make fun of you?
Starting point is 00:05:54 I was going to say to get a good video of this. Yeah, they really tore me apart. Okay. You know, Charlie, we are doing a second date update, so... Although Jeffrey has been wanting to do karaoke reviews for years. Yeah. I've been petitioning to get rid of these stupid second dates so that we could just do singing only. I guess what we should probably get to is the person that you met. I'm assuming it happened there. Yeah, yeah. So after I just, like, ruined this song and totally embarrassed myself.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Janine came up to me and introduced herself and told me that Queen is her favorite band, and I did an all right job. Oh, that's sweet. Oh, a pity party for you. That's nice. Yeah. And then she went up and did her song, and she just, like, blew it away. It was just, like, amazing.
Starting point is 00:06:44 Oh, wow. So after she was done, I congratulated her and asked her if I could buy her a drink, and she said, well, yes, but you have to ask me out first. Okay. Oh, wow. mean she's the karaoke queen yeah so did you do it or did you say no no thanks no absolutely yeah i i asked her out good seize the moment so you have one drink and then you guys go on a date another time or was it the same night yeah we had a couple drinks that night hung out and then we decided
Starting point is 00:07:14 to meet up uh i think it was like two or three days later okay so that's your official date how did that go well that was completely different it's just such a different person we had you know started off conversating over dinner, and she cried three different times throughout the night. Why? Was there like some, I cry over everything. Like literally, it's really hard for me. It, like, really impedes on my social life sometimes because I don't want to cry over everything. And yet you still do it.
Starting point is 00:07:44 I know. It's out of my control. It's like my emotional reaction. It's like blushing for me. Do you know what, like, started the crying? We were talking about her sister, and she started crying. I asked, is everything okay? Is her sister all right health-wise?
Starting point is 00:07:57 She said yes. And then the second time, she started crying about her dog, and I asked her dog was okay. And she said, yeah, her dog's okay. But I just couldn't understand why she was so upset. So her sister's totally healthy, her dog's totally healthy, and that makes her cry. But crying isn't always about being sad or upset.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Sometimes it's about, like, just a really deep feeling. Like maybe she has a deep feeling of love and gratitude towards these things in her life. We're just going through it and everything that day. Maybe. Yeah, but then the third time she cried was over dessert. I mean, who cries over a flon? Was it good?
Starting point is 00:08:34 Because I've cried over some water. Were you eating dessert or what was happening? No, no, I said, let's change the environment. Let's go out and maybe get some dessert somewhere else. Oh, okay. And that made her cry. Just the suggestion of dessert made her cry. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Did you get her the flon? Because girlfriend needs some dessert. Yeah. She sounds like she didn't even want it. She needs it. Trust me. I've been where she is. You eat this cake.
Starting point is 00:08:58 Whether you want to or not, you need it. Take it to go. You'll feel better. Yeah, I'm just totally confused. There was this great interaction that we had when I met her. And this night just went totally off the rail. She was crying about everything. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Charlie, I know it's probably hard, but if you had to guess, like, is there any thought in your mind about what maybe caused her to be so emotional that night? If I had to guess, maybe she's just going through something really. personal and she didn't want to open up about it to me. Yeah, so let's call her on the radio and ask her about it. Tell us. Or you know, it was just a
Starting point is 00:09:34 full moon that night and people act weird on that night. I'd like to say some people cry for good things. I cry watching soldiers from home videos and I cry on cute stuff. So maybe she was like thinking about a really good thing. The end of Coco, the movie? Yeah, see?
Starting point is 00:09:48 Or just a full moon werewolf situation. Crying at the moon. So we'll come back and hopefully get some answers from her when we do your second date update super emotional edition right after this okay thank you second date update it's brooke and geoffrey in the morning and if you're just joining us our listener charlie hung out with a woman named jeanine on two separate occasions yeah and i tend to want to focus more on the first hangout because he does too because singing and complimenting and high fiving each other at karaoke yeah sharing drinks together that sounds fun yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:10:24 The second hangout where he's sitting across a table from her while she balls her eyes out for an hour and a half. I mean, fun, yeah. No. Not as fun as the first time. It wasn't fun for her either, Jeff. Nobody had a good time at that dinner. We don't know exactly what was going on, not even Charlie. He doesn't know why the crying was happening.
Starting point is 00:10:45 She seemed to be talking about a lot of different subjects. And the night ended with him suggesting that they go grab dessert together. and that resulted in immediate wailing. So I really don't know what we're going to get here if she answers the phone. I just know that we probably need to be the opposite of how we normally do these calls and actually be super respectful. Oh. What do you think about that strategy, Brooke? I think that we shouldn't bring up the crime.
Starting point is 00:11:11 I do think that. Sure. I mean, I would assume it's something really personal happening in her life and it's none of our business. That's a good point for me. We'll just say you hung out with Charlie. Yeah. I mean, she spent a lot of time with him at the karaoke bar. And, like, there could be a very innocent reason she's not calling him back.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Charlie, is that okay with you if we take that approach? Yeah, yeah, that's fine. I mean, but what do we call her? I just, I want to express it. She has feelings. The most women that I date, they're not, like, open like this. I have the most respect for her. Maybe she was just having a bad day.
Starting point is 00:11:40 You say if she has feelings? There's most women you date don't have feelings? They don't really open up like that. Oh, I see. You like the vulnerability. Okay. Yeah, I do. Charlie, do you promise us that you're not going to join in and cry on this call, too?
Starting point is 00:11:56 I don't want him to make that promise cry if you need to, Charlie. You can have two crying people on the phone. Yeah, maybe three, I'll join in. Jose's again. Okay, wow. Just make a big cry fest. Sure, people are going to keep on listening to this, so here we go. Text in if you're also going to cry with us.
Starting point is 00:12:11 It feels good. It really does. It feels good. I'm actually hoping she doesn't answer at this point. It's never hours. Here we go. Hello? Hi, is this Janine?
Starting point is 00:12:30 Yes, she's calling. Hey, Janine, this is a radio show calling. We're called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Positive upbeat show. Hi, Janine, good morning. Okay. You ready to have a good time today, Janine? Okay, why are you doing that?
Starting point is 00:12:45 You're weird. You're coming off like an infomercial salesman. I love those commercials. Those are great. They're awful. Hi, Janine. Welcome to the show. I hope you have a second for us.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Oh, yeah. Hope you have a second. What is this? Yeah, this is a segment we do. It's called the second date update. And we try to help out our listeners if they've gone out with someone recently. We try to figure out if there's a reason why they're not wanting to do a second hang. A third, really, in your case.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Yeah. I have no idea what you're talking about. We're really just calling based about a guy that you hung out with. recently a guy named Charlie. Who? Charlie? Charlie. He's the one that's saying
Starting point is 00:13:28 Bohemian Rhapsody at the karaoke bar. Okay, yeah, the karaoke dude. Yeah, I remember him. That dude. That guy, the dude, yes. So we're trying to help Charlie figure out why you haven't met up again. I don't really have much reason.
Starting point is 00:13:46 I mean, I'm not really sure why Jell's business. Well, it's not. I mean, Charlie asked us to call you, like, on his behalf. Okay, I don't know why he'd do that either. Okay, because he likes you? Does that seem far-fetched? You guys wouldn't hung out, right? I'm scared to talk.
Starting point is 00:14:01 Are you scared of her, Jeff? I don't know what to say. I don't want to... No, I think Charlie just really likes you. Well, a lot of guys do. It's nothing new to me. Oh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:12 That must be nice. She's a good singer. It gets people's attention. That's true. Yeah. That's true. We did hear your... He had a lot of nice things to say about you.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Mm-hmm. I mean, he doesn't really know me, and I don't know him. Are you mad? It's just, it's so strange because he was like, one thing that he really liked about you is how vulnerable you were. And I guess maybe it's just weird to have us call. Maybe that's it. No, honestly, guys are just super easy to be manipulated. He is?
Starting point is 00:14:41 Like, guys in general. Oh, yeah. All I have to do is tear up and I'll get a free drink or food. What? Wait. You're manipulating men? That's like what you get off on? You fake cried?
Starting point is 00:14:54 I mean, if it gets me a free Uber or drink, food, whatever, it works. Oh, my. I don't understand. Because can I just tell her what we know? Yes. Because we didn't want to bring this up to you because we thought it might trigger something. But Charlie mentioned that on your second hangout, you cried on multiple occasions. And he wasn't exactly sure what was causing it.
Starting point is 00:15:16 I mean, he bought me the one drink. everything was fine I cried again to, you know, get another but he wouldn't buy another, so So then you cried a third time Or a second time, I don't know what number We're at in the cries here
Starting point is 00:15:32 Well, I mean, I had to try Sure So we I'm sorry, I'm just trying to laugh But he mentions you turned down dessert Oh, wait a minute I want a free dessert Yeah, no one turns down Flawn
Starting point is 00:15:43 Why would I stick around if he's not going to buy me Any more drinks? Oh, okay So you were you were specifically Quickly crying, trying to send the message to buy you a drink, and he wasn't picking up on that message. There's no message, Jeff. She's just manipulating him. Hey, guys, I'm right here.
Starting point is 00:15:58 I'm listening. Good. I'm glad you heard all of that. No, she doesn't know that yet. Who cares about her? Janine. Wow, bro. Come on, you said to be respectful about her and her emotions right now.
Starting point is 00:16:09 You're coming off very rude. She's making all the other women that actually cry look bad, okay? That's why you feel attacking. Okay. Janine, I don't think that you make women look bad. Yes, you're pretty. manipulating men for drinks. He would just buy you a drink without you crying.
Starting point is 00:16:22 That's just a normal lady. Wait, so, Janine, the reason why you fried is just so I would buy you stuff? I mean, yeah. You're like, honestly, that's like a toddler. Seriously, that's what my kids do. They try to cry, so they'll buy him something. And I say, no.
Starting point is 00:16:43 Cry all you want. I'm not buying you that. Okay. Your emotions are getting the best of you right now. I think. you need to take a break everyone needs to breathe we're just trying to figure out what's going on between jeanine and charlie we need to let them talk to each other yeah okay jeanine i know because charlie has been listening this entire time he does want to talk to you yes about what i mean Charlie now's your moment yeah i mean there's really nothing to say at this point i mean she's just a child i mean this is like no this is ridiculous to bring me on the radio like this like
Starting point is 00:17:19 What is wrong with you? I have a feeling he's not going to get another date for that. Yeah, I think we all know this is... I think he's mad, Jeff, for good reasons. Yeah, he's strolling. He's not manipulating her back with his tears. Yeah, listen, Janine, do you feel so bad for him? No, why would I?
Starting point is 00:17:37 I mean, it was a date. It's not like either of us had anything, like, serious going, and he was willing to buy it, so why wouldn't I? I mean, at any point were you actually interested in him? because it sounds like you're just using him to get stuff. I'm not just using him. I'm using all the guys. Oh, got it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:55 You've figured out the key to manipulating men is to shed a few tears and then they'll do whatever you ask them for. Yeah, like I don't even have to be on a date with them. You know, they could be sitting next to me at a bar or something and I just cry a little bit. Everybody's going to think you're a basket case and you're a crazy lunatic.
Starting point is 00:18:13 Or people can just think I'm controlling my emotions in a smart way. I mean, I got 500 bucks off. off a car the other day. Oh, wow. Hey. That's a good deal. Actually, I need to steal that. I just feel like, Janine, I hear that you're angry at men, and you just want to use them.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Like, maybe you could channel that energy in a different way. Go bigger? Yeah, I don't know. Like, just be a good person. A nice boat would be nice. Honestly, I have an idea. Why don't you all just shut the fuck up? Oh, it's hard for me to do that.
Starting point is 00:18:43 I think that was directed towards you, Brooke. Yeah, I felt it. Okay. I mean, no, it's all of y'all. Every single one of you. Oh, wait, she just hung up. Good ridden. And I thought for sure we were going to get a date.
Starting point is 00:18:55 Oh, my God. I really liked her. We could have, but we are going to buy drinks. I can't believe I fell in that. I really thought she was going to do something. I mean, you guys did too, right? I mean, yeah, I know the whole room kind of fell for it, but I didn't. I knew the entire time that she was full of it.
Starting point is 00:19:10 Oh, really? Let's be respectful in this call. Remember that? That sounds like a perfect impersonation of me, bro. You could be me. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. On the podcast Health Stuff, we are tackling all the health questions
Starting point is 00:19:24 that keep you up at night. Yes, I'm Dr. Priyanko Wally, a double board certified physician. And I'm Hurricane Dabolu, a comedian and someone who once Googled, do I have scurvy at 3 a.m. On Health Stuff, we're talking about health in a different way.
Starting point is 00:19:38 It's not only about what we can do to improve our health, but also what our health says about us and the way we're living. Like our episode where we look at diabetes, In the United States, I mean, 50% of Americans are pre-diabetic. How preventable is type 2? Extremely.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Or our in-depth analysis of how incredible mangoes are. Oh, it's hard to explain to the rest of the world. Like, your mangoes are fine because mangoes are incredible, but like, you don't even know. You don't know. You don't know. It's going to be a fun ride. So tune in. Listen to Health Stuff on the IHeart Radio.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And she said, Johnny, the kids didn't come home last night. Along the Central Texas Plains, teens are dying, suicides that don't make sense, strange accidents, and brutal murders. In what seems to be, a plot ripped straight out of Breaking Bad. Drugs, alcohol, trafficking of people. There are people out there that absolutely know what happened. Listen to Paper Ghosts, the Texas Teen Murders, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:20:56 You know, here's the question that we didn't ask. Has anybody in this room fake cried before? I feel like someone here's definitely tried to cry to get out of a speeding ticket at least once. And if that's true, then we are no better than that woman on the phone. Girl, you've faked it before, right? No, I've really cried when I've gotten pulled over. They really hit. but I still got the freaking ticket
Starting point is 00:21:17 so I was still crying I mean no it was real though The officer was like come on man This is not going to work on me You're the 12th woman to try to manipulate me with the crime I'm actually really sad I see tears but I still don't believe it I do like the idea though
Starting point is 00:21:33 Crying isn't a sign of weakness It's a tool of manipulation That's not the message Let's reframe crying into something positive Oh my God We can be manipulated into helping our listeners If you send us an email with a bunch of crying emojis on it, and I will feel obligated to take action.
Starting point is 00:21:50 That's right. That action might be to drag your email right into the trash, or it could be to help you. Might as well reach out and find out. We could have just said the second part. Yeah, okay. We will try to help. Just email the show. We'll call that person who's not calling you back and go check out all of our second dates.
