Get yours before they sell out at Ticketmaster.com. That's Ticketmaster. Okay, you're here for a brand new second date update today.
Starting point is 00:02:38 And we want to talk about what you said on YouTube yesterday we put up a second date video of us. Yes, we did. And I think you guys liked it, you know, reading the comments. Is it mixed reviews? Well, I know seeing us can be a shocker, you know, like for example, Dominic Mark said, after watching the YouTube video, who is the swole guy and the blonde woman on the Spotify cover? I assume Jeff from YouTube videos was bottom right. bottom right, Brooke was the redhead, Jose was obvious.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Yeah. But I don't know who's swole that they're seeing. It's got to be me as well. Oh, that's it. You're right. It looks like I'm two people. Oh, okay. That's the thing.
Starting point is 00:03:13 I'm sorry I ask. There's not a fifth person in the room. I'm the stupid one. Yeah. So anyways, all right, go watch live if you haven't already. And here's your brand new second date update right now. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update.
Starting point is 00:03:28 We don't normally talk about this, but if you feel like you've made a connection on a first date. When should the second date be put down, like, in concrete? Oh, I think in the 24 hours following. Wait, wait, wait. You're setting the date? I'm not saying when you're trying to schedule it. When should it be locked in by?
Starting point is 00:03:47 How long is too long to wait? Because our listener has been trying for almost a full week. And now he's getting to the point where he thinks something must be off where maybe she's avoiding it on purpose. Yeah. You should have it locked in within 24 hours. That's what I'm saying. Every day that passes after the date is less chance of you booking that second.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Yeah. Yeah. So maybe his confidence is starting to fade. His name is Alex. Alex, welcome to the show. Thanks, guys. We probably didn't help your confidence right there. And did we, Alex?
Starting point is 00:04:18 No, not really. It's very strange. Girl, we're men. Are you being too subtle? Are you being direct and saying I'd like to see you again? No, no, no. I'm being direct. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Like you're showing up to her house, knocking on the door, being like when can we go out? Not that direct, please. Yeah, yeah, not that direct. That's a good idea. Somewhere in the middle is probably better. But maybe we need to learn more about your first date before we already start jumping to the second one. What's this girl's name, by the way?
Starting point is 00:04:44 Our name's Mia. Okay. How'd you guys meet? We always start there. You know, on a dating app, very typical. Okay. Did you know that there was going to be something special about this date going in? Yeah, I mean, we're both big baseball fans.
Starting point is 00:04:59 and love trying new restaurants. So I don't know. We just, it felt like a very easy to chat with her. Baseball and food go hand in hand. So, I mean, that's pretty simple. Okay, so what did you guys do on your date? So we went to a restaurant, but I have to tell you, it was really interesting because I went to her apartment to pick her up. Oh.
Starting point is 00:05:19 And with her permission or without her permission? Yeah, yeah, with her permission. That's good. And she told me on the way to the restaurant that she had memorized the whole menu. What? Oh. This sounds like going out with Jose. Yeah, I was going to say, I like to act like I'm looking, but I already picked what I wanted a few days ago.
Starting point is 00:05:38 I know what I'm going to eat. Everybody studies the menu to pick something out, but memorize the whole thing. That's way different. That's the next level. So, funny. So I asked her like, okay, so what's on page two, four down? That's smart. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:50 A quiz you. Yeah. And she did it now. Oh. Oh. She was joking. It was a joke. So you canceled the date, right?
Starting point is 00:05:57 She's a liar. This is better. This is better. Well, you know, I think I took memorize a little literally. Got it. Yeah. She was basically saying I'm excited for this. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:07 But she did tell me a few things she liked, and she was funny. She laughed a lot. You know, actually, when we were at the restaurant, she was laughing so much that it was like getting attention from other tables. Like it was, her laugh is like a machine gun. Like, I can't even do an impression, but you can imagine. Oh. So. Like, ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Yeah, yeah, totally. That's it. That's it. Okay. Did you put your hand over her mouth and be like, shh, you're embarrassing us now. No.
Starting point is 00:06:34 No, I mean, I like that she was comfortable. Yeah, that's awesome. I mean, what were you two laughing about? I mean,
Starting point is 00:06:39 it was like normal conversation. It was just like we would find little tidbits, little anecdotes that were funny, and that's what it was. Okay. Like you had to be there funny moments, maybe. Oh,
Starting point is 00:06:49 oh, I do remember one thing we were laughing about and it's how dates end because it's always like a little awkward. Okay. And so I asked her like, okay, what's the most awkward thing that happened to you? And she was like, one guy
Starting point is 00:07:01 hugged her and then kissed the back of her neck. Ew. Yeah, a little neck nipple. What's wrong with that? I hope her hair was up. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, just the visual when she was going into it it made me crack up because it was hilarious.
Starting point is 00:07:16 It sounds like she's a good storyteller, you know? Yeah. Like, I love people like that. And also, remember, you're better than that guy. She's like, this is a horror story, so she's telling her I was in confidence. I don't know. Did you go in for the neck as a joke at the end?
Starting point is 00:07:29 No, no, no, no, no. Okay. That would have been a little bit pretty funny, though. Maybe that's why I'm not going to. Wait, but did you kiss? Did you kiss her on the mouth or on the cheek or on the hand or anything? Yeah, so then I drove her back and I opened the door for her. And it was kind of like, okay, what are we going to do?
Starting point is 00:07:44 Speaking of ends of dates. And then she gave me a really big kiss on the mouth, not the neck. Oh, that's so cute. I don't understand. She wouldn't be calling you back then. I know. Why would it be a week since you've talked to her? Yeah, I mean, it's been four to five days. And, like, she's not ghosting me.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Oh, she's not. So what does she say when you say, hey, let's go out? Like, hey, something came up. We pushed this. Stuff like that. Like, a little generic. Okay. Well, maybe after the kiss happened, you did something that was a little off-putting.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Like, what? I don't think so. Like, right after the kiss, did you, like, wipe your mouth and be like, oh, I don't normally kiss on a first date. Oh. And then, ugh. Yeah. Jeff. I agree.
Starting point is 00:08:28 It would be horrible if he did that. Yeah, that definitely didn't happen. I don't know why you bring that up. There's a lot of things Jeff brings up that we're not quite sure on. I'm just brainstorming why she wouldn't be calling you back. Let's just call her instead. Less brainstorming from Jeff or just talking to her. I have 10 other possible things you could have done wrong after you kissed her.
Starting point is 00:08:46 I'm going to say, yuck. Okay. Well, then we're going to move on. Fine. We will reach out to Mia for you and try and get you your second date. update normal mouth kissing edition only. Thank you. Right after this.
Starting point is 00:08:59 Hold on. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning and we've been getting a peek into the love life of our listener Alex. Oh yes, we have. The most intriguing part of his date was a story about a different date that the girl had gone on where at the end of the night, this mystery guy, I'm assuming it's our technical
Starting point is 00:09:21 director, Ashton, went in for a two-handed hug and ended up making it. out with the back of her neck. I don't know what base that counts as. It might be caught like in a pickle between first and second, but it's a bold move, whatever it's called. Still, Alex claims that didn't happen with him and Mia. He got the full-on
Starting point is 00:09:40 tulip tango at the end of the night. She kissed him. See, it's such a good sign when people share horror stories with the dating, because that means you're not one of them. Yes. And the conversation was A-plus, so why is he having such a difficult time locking down a second meet-up?
Starting point is 00:09:56 He has no idea, and he needs our help. Alex? Oh, sorry. Yeah, thanks, guys. I mean, I really appreciate it. Are you busy right now? Are you doing something else? No, no, sorry.
Starting point is 00:10:10 Sorry, that was just such a long preamble. I'm very ready. Let's see what happens. Let's go. Jeff works really hard on those preamble, okay? Sorry, sorry. It was very well written. It was like an ethanol.
Starting point is 00:10:22 Thank you. Alex, I'm so much less inclined to help you now. It's fine. It's okay. We'll dial this girl's number. We might even say nice things about you to her, depending on how it goes. But I'm just going to dial the number. Hopefully she picks up. Hello? Hey, is this Mia? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Hi, Mia. Hello, who's this? This is a radio show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. You don't have to be scared of us. We're a pretty friendly group. Yeah, just not a phone call. I've expected the morning, that's all. Yeah. I can understand that. We do reach out of the blue, but we're trying to help out a listener that you went on a date with recently.
Starting point is 00:11:09 A guy named Alex. I'm sorry, what? Alex. I guess your guys' date was like four or five days ago, he said. Because we do this thing called second date updates. I don't know if you're familiar with that, but if you go out on a date with someone and you're not getting a call back, listeners can email us and have us reach out on their behalf to figure out if there's a reason why. Oh, wow. That feels invasive.
Starting point is 00:11:33 I think we're trying to be helpful. I mean, it's not a negative thing. Well, what's in it for me? A date? Possibly. Our friend? I don't know. You pay for it or a gift card or something.
Starting point is 00:11:48 I'm glad you asked. Well, don't even, let's not even worry about what this is. I mean, if everything's being aired for the public and my coworkers, whoever's listening, I mean, I want something out of it. Well, sure, we'll get to that down the road. But first, let's talk about Alex. Yes. What'd you think of him? He was nice.
Starting point is 00:12:05 He was a really good guy. He teased me a little bit because I like to go into a restaurant prepared. He mentioned that you had made a joke that you had memorized the menu. Yeah, I will look things up ahead of time. I want to make sure there's stuff there that I like. Totally. That's why everybody does that. We did hear a lot about the date from Alex and we're wondering if maybe there was any part of it that you didn't like
Starting point is 00:12:29 that might explain why you're not meeting up with him again. No, no, he was really nice. It was fun. I just don't know where I am as far as being ready to get into a relationship again. Oh, my gosh. What specifically is holding you back from, like, at least just seeing him for one more date, not jumping into a relationship, but just hanging out. Okay. This is probably going to be too much information, but.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Oh, I love too much information. Yeah. Oh, for sure. Yeah. Let's go. What do you want to share? Well, the last guy I dated When he broke up with me
Starting point is 00:13:05 He said, I can't date you You're a terrible kisser Oh How dare he Yeah Some people don't have kissing chemistry Yeah You're bad to get together
Starting point is 00:13:14 So I'm like Okay well maybe I just need practice You know like Work on technique Kiss like 30 different guys And then just kind of go back and say See I actually can kiss Wait go back to your ex
Starting point is 00:13:26 And kiss him after you've learned how to Yeah No No Don't give him the good No, that guy sucks. We're not going to do that. I'm going to do it.
Starting point is 00:13:35 No. No, this is not going to give you the satisfaction that you think it will. Oh, no. Instead of going back into that situation, why not focus on Alex, who, assumingly, already thinks you are a good kisser? Yeah, he loved the kiss. I mean, this is how messed up he put in my head. But they acts like, before even go in for a kiss, I will tell a bad kiss story just to kind of, like, break the ice a bit. Oh, because you told that story about the back of the neck.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Oh, that was a move? He told you that? Yeah. Yeah. We heard about a different date you went on where some guy kissed the back of your neck and you thought that was weird. Was that even true? It wasn't exactly true, but it definitely helps break the ice for when I go in for a kiss later. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Yeah. But he's just a practice. That's the sad part. Yeah. He shouldn't feel bad. I've been practicing with a lot of people. No. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:14:30 It's like you're using him. I'm sure he's going to love to hear that. And he actually already has heard it because he's been listening to this phone call on the other line the entire time, Mia. Oh, no. Yeah, waiting to talk to you. So, Alex, are you there? Yeah, hey, Mia. Yeah, I heard all of that.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Oh, I'm so sorry. Okay, so I'm basically being used as like a practice dummy for kissing for you. Oh. You were? And I guess that's why it's awkward because I actually really liked you. And I'm like, you're my favorite to practice on. Oh. Why would you go out on dates, Mia?
Starting point is 00:15:09 Why not just go to a club and start making out with people on the dance floor? It is so easy to get guys to kiss you. I'm going to tell you. Yeah. Oh, I've done that too. Oh, God. She's got to get the whole experience. Oh, dang.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Just anybody who's willing to kiss you and give you a little practice so that you can improve for your ex-boyfriend. Dude, that sucks. That sucks for our guy, man. Yeah, it does. It doesn't suck for me. I'm in the teens already. What? Oh.
Starting point is 00:15:34 Alex, does this change your mind that you're helping her improve? I mean, look, this is a weird situation, but I do appreciate that. Oh, there's the machine. Of people that you've kissed, you're putting me at number one. Well, you think it's a competition. Well, I mean, it's not really ranking or a competition, but you're definitely in the top third. Ah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Is it possible that there's another way to get good at? kissing where you don't have to lock lips with 40 strangers? Yes, you just find someone where your chemistry matches. I mean, obviously you two had an amazing kiss. Like, he's calling. He's so excited to see you again. Like, this is working. The stuff with your ex didn't work.
Starting point is 00:16:14 That's why. Look, Mia, we had such a great time. Like, the kissing is only going to get better. So I'm sure I'll move up to first eventually. What? You're still wanting to compete? It's the competitive side of a guy. Alex.
Starting point is 00:16:26 It has to be number one. Which is definitely something my ex would say. What? Oh, my God. We are not over him, are we? Not at all. Clearly. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Still laughing about it. I'm teasing. I'm teasing. I'm teasing him now. Oh. You do have a good sense of humor. We heard that. You should try this.
Starting point is 00:16:43 Go out. Meet people. Kiss different people. It's not as bad as these guys are making it sound. I mean, plenty of met him been kissing and telling for years. Hey. Yeah, Mia, I'm familiar with the concept of dating. I understand.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Well, I mean, yeah, we do that. Keep on kissing. on improving. Wait, it seems like you don't think I'm a good kisser. And you know what, frankly, you're not a very good kisser. I mean, you have the trauma from your ex. Wow. You sound like my ex.
Starting point is 00:17:12 You want to hang out? That's a healthy thing to say. What in the world? I think I'm done with this lady. I'm sorry. Oh, no. That ruined it for you. I can't believe we went this far for you to finally deny her.
Starting point is 00:17:26 But after she lied about kissing the other people, just to get you to kiss her, but... You can always get better, ping me when you need it. Oh, yeah. In fact, I'm going to say there's a high probability of kissing in the forecast with a chance of handplay if you two
Starting point is 00:17:41 would agree to see each other again. I think he just said no. I mean, look, there's been a lot of new information and emotions that have come out during this call. And sure, he may have said some stuff in the heat of the moment. Like, no, I'm not interested. But when the dust settles,
Starting point is 00:17:56 I bet you he's going to want to give her another chance. especially after 30 seconds of him nonstop saying no. So, Alex, what do you think? I mean, this is weirder than just a booty call. It's a lippy call. It's not weird if you don't think about it, though. What do you eat on a kissing date? Lots of garlic.
Starting point is 00:18:13 I mean, I'm going to pass on that. We're looking for different things. Oh, yeah. Yeah, we are. All right. Well, she enjoyed kissing me. I don't care what she says now. That's right.
Starting point is 00:18:22 You stick with that confidence. Yeah, top third. All the dogs in the city just started barking. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. If you're a girl, yes, if you're a guy, no. More. More.
Starting point is 00:20:23 Yeah. The same thing? Like if a guy put it on his bio, Alexis, would you swipe right on that? Yeah, I don't want a relationship anyway. There you go. Okay. Perfect. I mean, I think honesty goes a long ways.
Starting point is 00:20:34 Yeah. Period. Yeah. Well, everyone's changing their bios. Yeah. As we speak, you're just trying to get better at locking lips. Wow. That is going to be a nightmare when she gets back and kisses that ex.
Starting point is 00:20:46 Oh, yeah. Or we could be really optimistic and he's like, wow, you've really come a long way. She's missing out on the one guy that was, like, decent and nice to go back and kiss her ex. It's not a good... But like Alexis said, who wants that? Ah, that's right. No way to that. I figure out what kissing leads to.
Starting point is 00:21:03 That's even more fun. Oh, wow. The next level. I know. She has to meet 40 more dudes to improve on that too. No, no. Okay. Well, if you want to improve just on your dating life in any way, you can always email
