They always say if you go out looking for love, you'll never find it. Yeah.

It's when you're not searching for it. That's when love sneaks up on you and uppercuts you right in the face. I've heard. It's quite hard to get because I've not been looking for a long time. That is the saying, right? I guess love punches you in the face. Something like that. That's what happened to one of our listeners, Matt, recently.

He wasn't looking for anything serious. And then that's when he got curb stomped by love. What? Matt. That was so violent. Love is violent, bro. How's your body doing? You know, I got bit by the love bug, man.

It was a hard bite. Oh, yeah. Ouch. Is this how you bros talk to each other? Yeah, I do. And sometimes I'm like, I got a bad infection with the love bugs, bro. I need some water for this love.

I didn't want more conversation. So, Matt, you know what we're talking about, but why don't you tell everybody who's the girl

that we're going to be calling today? What's her name? So, her name is Anna. Okay, and where did you meet special Anna? So, I was doing a tough mutter,

like an obstacle course thing with some friends. That's like the 5K, right? Where they run through mud and hard wire. It's like an obstacle course thing. Obstacle course. And sometimes you have to army crawl. It's like freezing cold water.

It was fun. It was a lot of fun. So you're crazy is what you're telling us. I don't know how people do those. I like to challenge myself. That's cool. Okay. And how did you meet her doing it?

So afterwards, they have like a party. Like there's like a beer garden. Right. And we kind of started talking. Oh. Nice. And she was cute. I was like, oh, she's really cool.

I mean, I was thinking like I just kind of wanted to hook up. Right. Nice. After the race, aren't you like covered head to toe in like mud and disgusting stuff? Yeah, but it's kind of sexy. You don't think so? I guess you're right. I think it's a little sexy.

I mean, dirty adrenaline. You're covered in mud, but like women are in sports bras and tight bottoms. Like leggings. Yeah. Yeah. So I was like, I got her number. So you planned a date for later, not for that night? Yes.

Yeah. No, no. Okay. You didn't want to just jump into the mud pile right there and just start rolling around, two little piggies, having a good time? Or did you imagine it like a nice and talented restaurant? How did you make that so unattractive? We were going to meet out for some drinks and not really dinner, but just kind of get to know each other, right? Yeah.

Just vibe out. That's cool. At this point, I'm looking just to, you know. Keep it casual. Friends with benefits, maybe. Like, I'm looking just to, you know. Keep it casual. So she showed up and, I mean, my jaw hit the ground. I mean, she was gorgeous. Even more gorgeous than being covered head to toe in mud? That's amazing. So then we started talking about like our careers and we talked about fitness and kind of you know we we had so much in common i was like oh my god this girl's like perfect you know and i was like kind of like holy so are you getting more nervous as the date goes on then no no because i you know i i kind of think i'm cool. That's good.

We seemed to hit it off really well. And then I blew it. I completely blew it. You blew it? But you know you did something bad. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. What happened, man? So the waitress came over to bring us some drinks.

And when she left, I kind of watched her leave. You watched the waitress leave? Yeah. Oh, no, bro. of watched her leave. You watched the waitress leave? Yeah. Oh, no, bro. Are you just always undressing women with your eyes? I mean, your description of the mud party and then this. So as I watched her walk away, Anna

watched my eyes kind of follow her. Then she had to go meet her friends. Yeah. Dude, you should have made a joke like, I just have to know what shoes she's wearing and then she said to me like she's gonna walk down there i was like well let me walk you and she was just like no i'm good i'm good it is a huge red flag i said ah i was i was so pissed i mean girls get mad if you're looking at your phone on a date bro imagine like literally getting caught

looking at another woman. It's like, oh, my gosh, you jerk. It's just a sign of, like, one, disrespect, and two, you can't, like, pay attention to me for the one hour that we're together. But my mom looks so good in that dress. Like, what am I supposed to do, not look? He's like, oh, my God. My mom looks so good. So have you owned up to it?

Did you apologize? No, I haven't talked to her. Oh. Oh, at all? You haven't reached out, even? No, I've reached out. No one's gotten back to me. Ah.

I see. Well, I think that stood out, Brooke. I think no matter what happens here, if she picks up, you have to apologize. She may never want to see you again, but that's definitely something that needs to happen. Well, she's not responding, so I don't think she wants to see me again. But she may pick up when we call. Who knows? Okay.

She might be a potential soulmate. What? Now, he didn't say that word. But, you know, you get the point. Like, there was more there than he originally thought there would be. Such a good surprise. And it wasn't until a cute waitress walked by that things kind of started to go downhill. Isn't the waitress's fault? Oh, yeah yeah because he couldn't control himself watching her walk away i mean come on matt i'm thinking here that i'm i'm not going to bring up the

waitress situation when we call please yeah yeah don't yeah i don't usually meet girls like this so i i must be something wrong with me but you usually do look at waitresses like that is that what you're saying oh yeah absolutely yes no don't say that are you a creep i'm saying that to you you guys are protecting me i know but i don't want to hook her up with a creep you're cool right i'm not a creep no no it's innocent ogling we all do it okay okay and look if that's not the reason it would definitely look really bad for us to be like, so, Anna, was it because he was making sheep eyes at that hot waitress? Honestly, I looked at the waitress as a**hole. I didn't even look at her. Okay.

And he said you went to a bar together and had a pretty nice time, but then you had to leave suddenly and go meet up with some friends down the road. Yeah. Okay.

I mean, he just felt like he really connected with you, which was not something that he totally expected. So he was pretty excited about it by the end of the night. Well, that is until you like suddenly left. Right. Well, that makes sense. Okay. Why?

Because if that's the very first thing that Matt had said at dinner that night, that I want to hook up, it would have worked out better than how it played out on the radio.

Can I say hook up one night, not hook up, relationship, whatever. You do not need to be talking about what you're looking for in a husband on a first date. Yeah, that's also true. What your goal is.
