Starting point is 00:00:00 Yo, before the episode starts, leave a like, drop a comment, leave a review, and yes, subscribe so you don't miss any brown bag mornings. What's up? This is Be Real from Cypress Hill. Where are you from, Esse? Don't you know I'm local? Right. So the potter screams of playoffs last night by meeting Dodgers 4 in L.A., and that was, you know, I'm local. I'm local.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Summer starts with Stella Rosa. Power 106. Sorry, Greg. Angeles brother. Oh my God. Come here? Now what's going on? Damn.
Starting point is 00:00:38 She's Mason with Angie. Okay. This story is really, really messy, okay? So it's Chadwick Bowman, better known as Wakanda forever. Black Panther, right? He sadly did pass away back in 2020. Techalla.
Starting point is 00:00:52 Yes. But sadly, now his wife and his family are beefing it. Oh, it's the worst. Over money. Mm-hmm. Okay, money. And then honestly, like, the, results of his death too.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Okay, so it's a lot. So I was telling you, apparently he died without having a will. So that's where it starts to get messy right off the bat, right? So eventually his wife, Simone, she becomes the administrator. She's the one that's- Of his estate, because that's his wife. Yeah, understandable, right? But now the brothers are fighting, the brothers and the parents of Chadwick,
Starting point is 00:01:27 they're fighting over his estates and how assets should be split. Yeah. And they're asking the court, like, hey, take. the wife Taylor Simone out of the out as the out as the administrator because she's not splitting it evenly but Taylor's fighting back and she's saying like what are you talking about like I'm doing everything that the court told me I even gave you guys more than you um than that was told msum Z just released some court documents from 2020 from when he passed and 2021 of them kind of going over the assets of the estate now keep in mind when it comes to chatwick bosman and
Starting point is 00:01:59 him passing away a lot wasn't known until he passed away. Everybody was low-key shocked. And previous to him passing, people were making fun of the way that he looked. Yeah. Not knowing he was going through something really serious. So already we know that they're a very private family. Yes. But now to see all this drama come out that they're
Starting point is 00:02:16 not in, I guess they're not united. You know, the family versus his wife. Yeah. And then, yeah, Leti was talking about the letters. They did leak and those were letters like that came out or were reading shortly after Chad would actually pass away. And they're pretty much asking the family.
Starting point is 00:02:32 he's asking Taylor for his medical records, his financial records, access to his computer, iPad, cell phone, all these things, right? But now, like, the brothers are out here saying that they're worried, quote, unquote, and have concerns on his death. They're saying, like, why was Chadwick found on the floor in his bedroom the day of his death? Like, that's weird. Not only that, but then they're saying, like, okay, the toxicology results. They're saying, like, okay, why was this medication on his body, like, four times that's
Starting point is 00:03:01 stronger than what was like actually medicated for him. Right. So they're questioning even that part. Yeah, that happened in 2020. So they questioned it in 2020. Yeah. Trying to figure out what went on. He was found laid out.
Starting point is 00:03:14 This is previous unknown knowledge. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We knew he was found at home with his family. We didn't know how he was found. So all of this stuff puts a lot in the air. Like, are they trying to say she had something to do with it? Are they trying to figure that part out? And I guess they were trying new types of medication.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Not new, but like, certain systems of going about curing the cancer that he had. Yeah. But what he had inside him was like 10 times. Yeah, four times as much as the medication that was needed. So it was poisonous. It was toxic in his body. According to him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:46 To their family. Yeah. And then also, you know, it didn't help that his wife at first, she didn't want to do the autopsy because she was saying like, no, like his body already went through so much. Yeah. But eventually she was just like, okay, let's go ahead and do it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:00 And that's when the results came in and the family saying like, wait, this is alarming. Why is this all over? Like, why is this on his body? Yeah. But then now the money part also gets messy because now all of a sudden the family is also saying like, wait a second. Like there's actually a recording of Chadwood saying like, oh, I want certain film residuals split towards my parents and my brothers, 90% of it.
Starting point is 00:04:23 Yeah. That no one's proven if that exists right now. And that. Supposedly that he did a recording. But I couldn't understand. understand why because he's really like him and his wife seem to be very very locked in yeah so to not split your film residuals with your wife is a little bit odd it is the brother is saying it was just supposed to be split 90% between us and our parents that's fishy yeah that's because it's like okay
Starting point is 00:04:48 why wasn't that toll like since the beginning since there was no will or anything like that should have been brought up to the court yeah it is a lot of drama and it's really messy and it's sad because it's like they were supposed to be like really tight family or at least that's how We know it. Knew it, us. That's the sound of the police. The petty police. It petty.
Starting point is 00:05:06 It's just petty. I'm being petty. Petty, petty girl. Pretty and them. Petty us. Pretty. Petitist. All right, y'all tell me if this is a petty reason to judge somebody during a job interview or if it actually makes
Starting point is 00:05:18 sense. Okay. There is a user going viral online because she seems to be some type of financial strategist. And Gen Z, I don't know if you know this, they need a job. Gen Z struggle and. Yeah. So she told Gen Z this word of advice that has the internet in an uproar. Check this out.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Don't like waltz into your interview all casual with an iced coffee. It just looks like you didn't have time to finish your coffee beforehand. Enter iced coffee gate. Should you or should you not bring an iced coffee to a job interview? Teacher. Yes. I say no. Angie, don't bring.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Don't bring. No. Oh, Angie V, we have two. I know. Oh, yeah. Oh. We do. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:02 Auntie F. Ants E. Yeah. I say no. I don't know. It just doesn't set like a vibe of like, I don't know. It just feels very. Of like professionalism.
Starting point is 00:06:09 It just like it just feels a little more relaxed than I would want to. I guess it just depends on the job. If I'm going into like a building and like if I'm going to like a dinner meetup type thing or then fine. But I guess I guess I guess it depends. But I was going to. No. I don't think there's any time appropriate for you to bring in ice coffee. It's messy.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Okay. Have you put a cup down? Yeah. After like a couple of minutes, it's watery. on the, are you guys just saying this because I was late today and I came in with coffee? Like that's just messed up. Are you guys trying to do the, do me? We didn't want to say it.
Starting point is 00:06:37 Well, that day. You had all like, is it a property? Well, see, this is the thing to me. Like, if you bring an ice coffee, you better not be late because that just tells me you'd prefer to go stop and get the ice coffee. Again, I'm really far, you guys. It was only a few minutes. That's how it took it as well, Lettie. You're prioritizing the coffee before going to this interview.
Starting point is 00:06:57 And so that just shows me what you're going. gonna be like on the jaw at times yep I think we all oh you that's why I became my own boss because I knew I knew I knew I know who I am yeah I would I personally would not walk in to an interview with an ice coffee no yeah but I just think it's because we're you know we're oh geez like we know what's but what if you have coffee for the other person as well see that might be a thing okay see now I was interviewing you was an assistant you did that boss move I'm on my way to my job interview with you do you want anything from that Because you also can't guess what.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Exactly. This coffee situation is crazy. It is. See what you did, Angie? I know. I just set it off in here. Just get it off in here. We had the most viral twins on the internet.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Come in. Los Himelos in Sinaloa. They're viral. And the second. Oh, yeah. You like my little accent? I was going to say, say it again. Say it again.
Starting point is 00:07:56 Los Hemos is Sinolo. Aw. I've been practicing that all night. It's. The second that is he mellows. He's saying it wrong? Yeah. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:08:06 My two coconuts, we're telling each other. Exactly. Green coconuts. Three coconuts. They came in, did an interview with us, and it got chaotic the second that they walked in. If you don't know who they are, they're viral all over TikTok because they do live streams. And one of the biggest clips that they have that everybody was using was this one. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Yeah. Papa, we're going to take you home already, Biaco? Nah. La Nesta, Vieco. You've been with me all day, Vieco. I am not your babysitter, Veckel. Tell me, Vyko, to take care of your vehicle. Yeah, everybody was using this audio and the videos and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:08:39 But they're also corrido singers. Yes, they make music. They're popping. They're signed to JOP. Yes. They just dropped them an album. I'm a butcher this as well. The Hema Liza. Himalia.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Himalaya. Himalisa. Hamelisa. Hamelisa. Hamelisa. Hemalisa. I think it's Hemaliza with a Z. Hemalisa.
Starting point is 00:08:59 Hemalisa with a Z. Yeah, La Melissa. Right, right, right, cool, cool. They just dropped their album, one of their most known songs, and one of my favorite songs is called Ferrari. Oh, no, no, no, no. It's a viral song. It makes me want to go like $100 and a 40. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:27 It makes me want to go like $100 and a 40. Okay. that. Please don't. They came in and the interview was going on and all of a sudden one of the members, the main member that everybody knows, Juan Moises, he decides just to start talking about like our favorite alcohol beverage and wants us to know about it. So he asked us this. What do you guys be drinking? Bar-Balai. Tequila? Casamigos. You're for sure a buzzball guy. Nah. What the? He's a VMC guy. Like BMC. So he wanted to know what our favorite drink was.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Yeah. We said tequila. You know, that's what we like to drink. He first started off with the diss saying, like, what you like, but light, or it's, like, Khan, because more like a Tio vibes. Yeah. But you guys followed up, like, no, Tequila, right? Yeah, tequila. So I like Casamigos.
Starting point is 00:10:10 Khan likes Casamigos. A lot of us like tequila. If someone tells you they like tequila, what do you think of that person? They're down as hell. Right? Yeah. What about you, Angie?
Starting point is 00:10:17 Yeah, same thing. Someone likes tequila. Okay, well, not according to Hemelos. What? Listen to what he said. Blue label. Blue label. Oh, blue late.
Starting point is 00:10:24 That's a man drink. That is, that's a regret. You know, like, a good thing I heard you guys, tequila man, that's a women drink right there. Oh. Whoever drinks tequila, they're little girls. As a man? Man, drink whiskey. 80-year-old men drink blue labels.
Starting point is 00:10:40 Real man. You're not 80 years old. I'm not 80, but I'm real. Nobody drinks blue label. Disgusting. Because you're a girl. Damn, you're a girl. You're calling me a girl.
Starting point is 00:10:52 You're drinking tequila. You're not a girl, Greg. I just want you to. to know that okay now I know we're saying the ladies are taking over today yeah but you know we didn't include you in that you're not a girl meho thank you thank you're a man it is an all girls day and Greg is it is so is it is so is it because you drink tequila no it's not because I drink it you should have a shot right now and let's see if I wish I would do it right now if I could that tells how manly you are on bad influence we do not need drinking during the show
Starting point is 00:11:20 what's in the morning oh oh for sure no we are not at you're not down no nobody else Me neither. Me neither. Yeah, me neither. So he keeps going and you're trying to roast me the tequila's for girls. Tequila's for women. Wait, their whole gist, respectfully, I think is to rage bait. Like, it seems like that's the new vibe of the streamers. He was looking for something to clown them on. And he honed in on the tequila.
Starting point is 00:11:45 You're not a man. And then, Loki, he drinks whiskey, so it's like, okay. Yeah, blue label. I don't know. Whiskey drinkers is a whole other. What's Bucanas? That's whiskey? Bucanas is like a whiskey.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Oh, yeah. Yeah, right? I'm sorry. Yeah, I was like, check out. Yeah, yeah. But they had their, like, whole crew with them, their little posse and everything. And one of their dudes was standing outside with... That's upset.
Starting point is 00:12:04 Trust me. You don't want to hear this, Angie Vee. You're no want to hear this. They had their crew standing outside with some drinks. And then we were like, yeah, come on in. Come on in. Right. Bring the drinks in.
Starting point is 00:12:13 You'll never guess what these foods drink. Yet, they're the ones calling me girls. Listen to this. Oh, you guys are macho men? You guys like macho? Me? Uh-huh. We told me a girl and you drink macha.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Me? What's like that? You can't be calling me a girl when you drink matcha. Wow. You know what's so crazy about everything that whatever you say is not going to change what I think about, you know. Me, I can still drink this and just feel good, aesthetic. For real, you got to fix yourself, for real. Both of you guys.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Are you what I'm saying? What, bro? It's crazy. You're just trying to fix you. You're just trying to escape the reality. You want to go get a pumpkin spice latte too? The girls like that, bro. The girls love that.
Starting point is 00:12:53 Macha and a Lambo. That was hilarious. You got him. He got himself. He drinks matcha. Yeah, that's a Hina drink. I'm sorry. It is. It is. Like, Mata drink.
Starting point is 00:13:04 That's an us thing. A girl drink. No man to drink matcha. Dude, no. Or just like keep it on the low. You know what I'm saying? Like, do that in your private time. He wanted to.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Bro, he sent his homie back out. Like, you freaking ruined it. Like, I don't want to. He didn't drink the match of the whole interview. That's why they left it. That's why he was so embarrassed. He left the matcha here. He didn't drink it at all.
Starting point is 00:13:24 He's like never going to drink it. a machina. Probably. But the fact that he's like, it's for the aesthetics. It's like, dude. That's even crazy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He tried to defend himself. Yeah, it's like, no. It's not. Not for nothing. They were a really good time. Like, again, they're rage baiters. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Say, yvon pesados. He was trying to pick a fight with everybody. The music is bombed. The music's good. We got to put that interview out. Brownback mornings, 106 on Instagram. We're going to be posting clips. Hemelos. We got you bro. You can't come in trying to dis Brownback. That's the thing. You can try. That when you order
Starting point is 00:13:54 a hyna drink. I'm just saying. Bro. You can't clown about hyna's drinking tequila and then have a macho next to you.
Starting point is 00:14:02 No, no, no. Yeah. Juan Moises, if you're out there, hope you're enjoying your macho right now, though.
Starting point is 00:14:07 It's up, it's up. And his new album that's probably going to go platinum and his lap and his Ferrari and all that.
Starting point is 00:14:13 All right. Thank you. Thank you, Greg. Let's get into the weather with our guy concrete. And now, the weather. Oh, hell the dog.
Starting point is 00:14:22 With concrete storm. Perritos, it is going Going down for the weather Friday, September 25th. It's Friday and it's paid day. First, we peeped the view in the city of La Mirada. Tonight I'm hitting my girl with a ballo like a piñata. 89 degrees and 68 degrees.
Starting point is 00:14:41 Next, we waste hell of gas and swing by the city of Eastvale. Greg will still pull up if there's pretty females. 93 degrees and 67 degrees at night. Now we stay hella far and bend the corner to the city of Kalimesa. It's going to be warm. So give me some Agua de Fresa. 89 degrees and 67 degrees at night.
Starting point is 00:15:00 And lastly, we get off freaky on the way to the city of San Jacinto. Gritame Pegame with the sinto. 93 degrees and 66 degrees at night. It's going to be a warm weekend perritos. High 90s. No, low 90s, high 80s. So, yeah, man, just being a tango.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Don't even trip. All right. La Mirada. 89 degrees. 68 degrees at night. Next, we go to Eastvale, 93 and 67 degrees at night. Cali Mesa, you're going to be 8 and 66 degrees at night. And San Jacinto, 93 and 66 degrees at night.
Starting point is 00:15:36 It's your boy, Kank, for Brownback mornings on Power 106. Let's go. We need a homie or need some help. We need your help. We need a line. I mean, phone line. We got you for the homie help line. By the way, for those just locking in with us, we got our baby girl DJ Angie.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Vee. What a do, boo. What it do, boo. She is going to be in the mix. Brown by Morning's house party coming up at 8.30, but not before we get into all the cheeseman right here on.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Homey Helpline, all right? I mean, I'm down for a little cheeseman. Oh, you're going to like it. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Let's get to it. The home girl Cindy hit us up, all right? She told us, Cindy.
Starting point is 00:16:14 I'm coming to y'all about my dad's secret life because I literally can't talk about it with anyone in my family. So I'm 30, and the oldest of two other siblings. We're all close, and our parents have always made us feel
Starting point is 00:16:28 like the luckiest kids we know. They've been married for 33 years and are like annoyingly in love. They call each other lover and are always sweet-talking and just mushy. Am I your mom and your dad? Oh, I mean, yeah, yeah, never mind.
Starting point is 00:16:44 See, it's cute. That's cute. They're in love. Until it's your parents. Every year for Halloween, they are the mom and the dad in Adams family because of how cringe they are with each other.
Starting point is 00:16:53 What's the Disney? Mortisha and Gomez. Gomez. The kissing of the art? Yeah, yeah. My sister literally calls them her proof that good marriages exist. I thought so too until last week when a friend texted me, Girl, is this your dad?
Starting point is 00:17:10 It was a screenshot from a dating app. His picture was taken at my parents' anniversary dinner. He cropped my mom and me out of it. His profile said he was 49 and separated. My dad is 57. He lives with my mom, Brownback. Damn, lying about his age and not even a little bit. He hit that whole, like, damn.
Starting point is 00:17:32 Over 10 years, it's crazy. All for the huzz. All right. I was shaking, reading it, and barely slept that night. I was just blowing up his phone, but it kept going to voicemail. The next day, I said, F it. I'm going to tell my mom. I called her to come over that it was an emergency.
Starting point is 00:17:48 And when she showed up, I couldn't even hold myself together. I was crying. I couldn't even talk. I just showed her the screenshots. She looked at the picture, hugged me, and said, I know. I thought she meant she recognized him
Starting point is 00:18:03 and I said, Mom, this is a dating profile. She said, I know that too. What the hell? Oh, my God. That's how I found out. My parents have some kind of open marriage. What a freaking nightmare. Nice.
Starting point is 00:18:20 No, not nice. Nice, bro. Her whole world's crashing down. Like, that's her mom, that's her dad. She thought she was like, like being a girl's girl. Tell you her mom. If they have it, I could have it.
Starting point is 00:18:32 And that's like, no. My mom said they married young, and once we were all grown, they started talking about experience they'd missed. They made an agreement together. He can go quench his thirst. That's disgusting. And she's allowed to flirt should it ever arise.
Starting point is 00:18:47 She told me, I love your dad. He isn't cheating on me. Okay, wait, hold on. I already have a question. I already have a question. He is allowed to quench his thirst and she's allowed to flirt. Hold. It's already a double standard in the open marriage.
Starting point is 00:19:01 Absolutely not. Sometimes that happens. Sometimes the dynamic is I could do what I want. But not you, woman. But not you. I mean, yeah, I would want the same thing for me. Of course, I want to do what I want to do. And you can only do what I want to do.
Starting point is 00:19:13 But what? That's how it works. That's crazy. That's crazy. It's not how it's working. I asked if she knew he was saying that he's 49. and separated. She said she didn't and that she would deal with him about that. That's the
Starting point is 00:19:25 least of your worry. Yeah, do. Okay. But then she hit me with the request from hell. She asked me to delete the screenshot and not tell my brother or sister. She said, I found out by accident and she and dad aren't ready for the rest of the family to know. I've been spiraling ever since. My dad's been trying to see me, but I blocked him.
Starting point is 00:19:45 Not only is it gross and I will never look at them the same, but my friend is my age. Oh, the friend that sent a screenshot. Oh, found him. She found him right there on the app. What happens when one of my sister's friends finds him next? Or what if they end up finding out one day like the brother and sister and hate me for not telling them?
Starting point is 00:20:04 What is my life right now, Brown Bag? I don't know what to do. Cindy, your life right now is a homie help. It is, girl. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Poverre. So not only she found out her dad's out here in the streets. It's an open marriage.
Starting point is 00:20:18 And then the type of girls, he's probably looking at her. Are her homegirls, her age? Unless she can't tell her brother and sister. Because the mom's like, no, shh, can't they. Okay. At first, I thought maybe they were white, you know, because that's like, you know. But then now that I hear that the mom is like, Mihai, it's okay, shh, they're definitely a Latina. So, right?
Starting point is 00:20:41 They have to Papa. Yeah, yeah. Leave him alone. Dang, man, that's hard. That sucks. But we should all just lessons to everybody. Like, the days of having private lives. Anything.
Starting point is 00:20:51 Anything. are over. Yeah, it is. It's over. That's just not going to happen. Angie, you have multiple siblings. Yeah. Oh, oh, yeah. Oh, sorry. Sorry. I was like, oh, yeah, I did you. Yes. Yeah, we both do. Okay. Angie, you find out something about your parents. Are you telling your siblings? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm telling you right away. What if your mom and your dad tell you you not to say anything? I'll keep it quiet for like maybe two, three days and then after I'll be like, okay, I have to tell you. Okay. I'm disgusted. Mom and dad. Mom and dad are like, what She knows.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Yeah. Oh my God. Are you keeping this type of thing on your parents' behalf? If my dad's laying it down with somebody else? Let's say your dad's laying down with your mom. Do you tell you your brother and sister? I'm just making them up. Okay.
Starting point is 00:21:34 What are you telling your siblings? So am I telling my siblings that my parents are laying it down again? Yeah. Because they're separated. Yeah. What the hell? Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:21:42 We're telling our siblings? I don't know. I'm not. This could mess it up. I wouldn't. But I'm the oldest. I'm the oldest. It's different.
Starting point is 00:21:48 I think there's different layers of I'm the oldest. And so I hold it down and I think I'm not. POP hold it down. Yeah. Cindy's the oldest too. True. Cindy's the oldest, but now it feels like a whole world is on her shoulders. She doesn't know what to do with her life. She just found out her parents are in an open marriage.
Starting point is 00:22:04 And you know, there's people that have hit us up that they've been in open relationships. What happens with the kids? Do you tell your kids? Like what are those rules? I mean, I think back in our day. No. but now I feel like you almost have to because of these moments like this
Starting point is 00:22:23 that didn't exist you know before it did exist but well no I mean the the odds of us finding out that way so I believe that didn't exist you know dating apps right when we were young yeah yeah so man yeah povorecita you know what I'm saying
Starting point is 00:22:39 yeah but it's not funny anymore if that's your mom or your dad it's not or cute or your dad's hitting on people your age That's weird. All right. 818 52019. Cindy really needs our help, yeah. She does.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Cindy needs our help. She's holding on a secret from her siblings that her parents told her. Have you ever had to do that? Hold on to a sibling. Hold on to a secret you found out about your parents. Let's talk to Mia in Wilmington. What's up, Mia?
Starting point is 00:23:10 Hey, how are you guys this morning? Hi, Mia. I don't know. I'm spiraling for our homegirl Cindy, to be honest. I'm sad for her. Oh, well, you know, you just said that she's the oldest, right? I'm the oldest as well. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:24 And, like, I found out my mom and my dad's secret, like, why my mom was out there, you know, being ratchet. But she asked me to not see things. And honestly, I didn't. I didn't say anything. All my siblings are younger than me. It was either just get a divorce or if this is just, this is the way they process and they work it out. I kept it a secret and their marriage is like thriving now. But did someone find out?
Starting point is 00:23:53 Did someone find out or just stayed? Well, it was rumors and that's why I approached my mom. It was rumor that she was out there just being with someone else. And what was your dad doing? And then when I talked to her, I'm sorry? What was your dad doing? What was your dad? Hold on.
Starting point is 00:24:07 I want to know what the dad was done. Well, let's find out. Yeah, little by little. My dad cheated on her like prior to you. Okay. So there's rumors going on about your. mom probably from your tias on your dad's side and then you go to your mom like hey they're saying you're out here being a ratchet mom like all this like jernas aviastas mom and she was like well like him
Starting point is 00:24:28 because your dad cheated that's hard right i mean they were living separately and everything oh okay so but it was their process i couldn't say anything i mean it was just like if this is their process this is their process i told her i said well I mean, if you don't love him, then just divorce. But, you know, I had to respect where they were both at because they just, I don't know, with time and whatever it is that they needed to get out of their system, it just actually brought them closer. Because today they're like. So you're saying you're mature. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:05 So they're cheating. I brought them closer. Aye, aye. And how about you with your siblings? Like, do you feel bad? Did you feel guilty not telling them? Mm-hmm. No, no, because, you know, you have to know your siblings, right?
Starting point is 00:25:21 You have to know who's going to break wide. You have to know who's going to sit there and just be frantic and just like, just go there. She got that all this energy. Yeah. That's right. And you have to be that basically other parents for them. You are the parent. You know?
Starting point is 00:25:37 Your parents are trifling, so you got to step in. Jeez, KPWRFM, H-D-1, Los Angeles, Power 1,06, L.A's number one for hip-hop. Thank you, Mia. Oh, but you know what it would trip me out? I feel like my relationship would change with my parents. Agreed. Oh, yeah. I knew that about pops.
Starting point is 00:25:56 That would change how I looked at him after that. You feel me? If your dad was throwing down? Well, he is, but like if they were together and they told me that. No, no, no, but it would change because it's like, oh, you did this to mom. You don't see them the same. You don't respect them the same. Yeah, it'll change a lot.
Starting point is 00:26:09 And then my brother and sister would be like, hey, why you so mean to dad? Stay out of it. I know. That part. You don't know what I'm living with. That part. Yeah. You look like the hater.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Yeah, that's right. Meanwhile, I'm just trying to protect you. I'm just trying to protect you. Yeah. All right, let's go to G and Englewood. Good morning, G. Hello, good morning, Brown Bag. Gee, we're talking about your parents' secrets
Starting point is 00:26:31 that you had to keep from your siblings. Do you have something like that? Oh, yeah. I was a telenovela, girl. You have no idea. What is it? What is it? What is it?
Starting point is 00:26:39 My dad lived a double life. Had children by somebody else. Oh, damn. And we did it. I mean, I know it's a little bit. in pieces like I knew he had a kid and when I was growing up it was a cousin let's go visit your cousin. Damn.
Starting point is 00:26:55 And then when I got old enough, I stopped going to my cousins. But then my dad got sick. And when my dad got sick, I thought that was that child and her friend, her mom and the boyfriend because, you know, I know the mom because I mean vividly, I would spend time with them. Yeah, it's your cousin. That's your Tia. Nope. That was his two daughters and son with his side chick. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:27:24 He had three kids with a side chick? Yeah. That's a whole other family. That's not just like a kid. I never knew about it. I was 34 when we all started discovering everything that was going on. Oh, wow. You must have, you thought they were your cousins. I wonder what he told. them you were like i'm gonna go pick up your cousins but it would make sense because the kids would be like that's the thing it's like you can't talk to your mom about it or if you talk to your mom
Starting point is 00:27:58 then or your siblings then or you can never come over here because they're going to get jealous so i could never say anything growing up oh so you knew hold on you had other siblings from your own family but only you were the one that he took yeah i was that is a girl, yeah. Oh, my God. Wait, are you the oldest? Did we say, are you the worst? No.
Starting point is 00:28:20 No, I'm in the middle child. Oh, come on. No one else is going to love you, girl. You're in the middle. Yeah, so she's taking that. And then she wants to earn her love. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, well, tell dad.
Starting point is 00:28:32 She wants to feel special. That's how you felt probably special was like this bond between your dad and you. Wow, that's wild. Oh, that's so sad, yeah. Yeah. But that's not even the top of it. Like, when he got sick, he was still trying to put everybody in their corner so that nobody knew anything about anybody.
Starting point is 00:28:48 And it's like, why are you doing that? Know your place. Even this, okay, so he has three kids from someone else. Then I vividly remember the woman that he worked with because we would go to company picnics and that woman was always with me and my siblings. He ended up marrying her. What the hell?
Starting point is 00:29:07 And that's not the mom of them? No. Oh, my gosh. So your daddy is a woman. He's laying it down. He's laying it down. He's laying it down. He's laying it down.
Starting point is 00:29:19 When does everyone find out? Yeah, tell me. When he got sick is when we started putting the pieces together because everyone remembered the now wife. And I was so upset because I was like, how did I not know? But, you know, my dad was so busy, so busy, quotations, busy, that he was living with us and everything, but he was never home.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Is he a truck driver? Yeah, what did he do? No, not even. Not even. He was not a truck driver. So what was he? What's the other perfect occupation to lie about? He was a manager in his town, so he was always on call supposedly.
Starting point is 00:30:00 A plant manager. We're on to you, plant managers. Okay? Always on call. Yeah, like he married his mistress because we remember her going to have a co-worker. Yeah. Okay. Your mom. What's up with her? Okay. My mom. I went to my mom one day. I went to my mom one day and I'm like, what the hell is going on? Did you have an arranged marriage where you're helping my dad get his papers? Yeah, true. Because I'm not going to believe that because they had six kids. Yeah. Oh, damn. Wait a minute. And then the other three, your dad has nine kids? Yeah. God. And then he has one with the one that he has. With the new ice. Yeah. So your dad has 10 kids.
Starting point is 00:30:42 Yep. Damn. Baby Jesus. Damn. You guys have a whole kindergarten right there. And he was trying to be sick and not letting you out. That's crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:52 So when you tell your mom. He's still to this point won't let me talk to them and they're very school to not talk to us. But I bet you anything they're listening to this and they're going to go crying to my daddy because they did stupid shit like that. Hey. Oh, what's that? What is that? She got some feeling about it. Well, I'm assuming that did change your relationship with him because at some point.
Starting point is 00:31:12 point you thought, wow, I have special time with Pops. And then you kind of get hip to, damn, like, he was having all these marriages and mistresses and kids, and they were my cousins. And he told me, I had to keep it a secret. How is your relationship with him now? It was Rocky in the beginning because I was a teenage mom. And he would call me being saying how I destroyed and how I looked for my family. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:42 So when I found this, I was like, so it was a good, maybe five, six years that I didn't talk to him. But when he got sick, you know, I mean, we were raised, we're Mexican, like, we're raised to take care of our parents, like, you know, I have to put everything aside. Like, I told my siblings, I have to forget him. See, and then, like, look, he, respect, hold on one second, G. A lot of, a lot of Gen Z kids are just cutting people off, and it's like that,
Starting point is 00:32:10 Because look at us staying. Yeah. You know, nos maltattaban, said all these things about us and had us keep their secrets and all of that. And over here, but he's sick. Yeah, but that's your dad. Hey, G, how do you even know he was even really sick, G? Yep.
Starting point is 00:32:22 I can't trust anything out of your dad's mouth. We don't trust him. I know. No, but he is sick. I'm now his caretaker. Oh, my God. On top of that, you're in heaven. The layers of frustration I have just for you.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Yeah. What are your nine siblings names? Do you know your nine siblings' names? Oh, yeah. Oh, go ahead. Let's remember. Gold digger one, gold digger two. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Oh, God. Oh, G. Whoa. Yeah. I'm going to be honest. You need to sit down and you need to write a script because I would watch this novella any minute of the day, my girl. I would.
Starting point is 00:33:04 I would. We put some money in your pocket. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, Power 106, number one for hip-hop in Pasadena. Shout out to all of our perititos. over there in Pasadena. We are inside the homie helpline and we're trying to help the home girl, Cindy.
Starting point is 00:33:15 Cindy just found out that her parents are in some kind of open situation, relationship, relationship, marriage. And they told her, hey, you found out, you weren't supposed to do. You cannot tell your siblings. So she's holding on to the secret. She's spiraling while it's happening
Starting point is 00:33:29 and we're hearing your stories which honestly, hey Cindy, it could be worse. It could be a lot worse. The middle child of 10 children. And then have to be the caretaker after he told you that you were the worst. Yes. Like,
Starting point is 00:33:42 you're letting your family down. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Lisa. Lisa in East Hollywood. Lisa, good morning. Lisa.
Starting point is 00:33:50 Good morning. Lisa. Are you hearing all this drama? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So this is, I feel for Cindy because my parents, both of them just passed in the past year. And they left me with a whole bunch to clean up.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Oh, what? My mom and my stepdad have been married for 26-something years, and even after they divorced, apparently, they still live together. But as I'm cleaning his stuff and I'm dealing with his biological children, right? They're trying to fight me and my uncle on his stuff, and they haven't been around in like 20, 30 years, right? So now they're coming through for all the assets. Yeah. Oh, yeah. There's no assets, right?
Starting point is 00:34:36 There's debts. They can take the debts. Yeah, take it. But this came up because I guess she would be my step sister. Oh, no. She was like, oh, well, he can claim your mom's money, right? Mind you, my mom just passed in November. My dad just passed in August.
Starting point is 00:34:53 He pretty much adopted me. And my mom just passed in November, literally like a month before my baby was born. And I'm sitting here listening to this chick. And she's like, yeah, but she can claim her Social Security. And then I remembered my mom did some scandalous stuff. My mom went behind my dad's back. Bio dad or stepdad? My, well, bio dad's not been in my life.
Starting point is 00:35:20 So that's my dad. Okay. Yeah, just for reference, though. Yeah. So she did some scandalous stuff behind his back. And I remember this, right? Because the whole marriage was a facade pretty much, right? Like, just like Cindy, my mom had guys on the dating website.
Starting point is 00:35:39 My mom had this guy from another country. I think it was Armenia or something. And he was like, he's like seven, I'm 31, and he's like seven years younger than me, right? Oh, damn. My mom flew out there to see him. Wow. That's crazy. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:57 Bro. Bro. I got being the view. Yeah. Yeah. Right. And she was going to bring him out here. And she was going to marry him.
Starting point is 00:36:07 And I never knew. they got divorced, right? In the midst, right? Yeah, right? Yeah. I never knew they got divorced in that sense, right? Like, I just knew when, like, towards when my mom was dying, I was making the medical decisions, and I'm like, well, why don't I just talk to dad about that?
Starting point is 00:36:24 And she's like, well, we've been divorced for, like, seven years. I'm like, what? I'm like, what do you mean you've been divorced for seven years? She's like, yeah, I was trying to bring, you know, remember that guy over? And I'm like, I thought you were friends with his mom. Turns out my mom was not friends. with his mom. Mom was screwing him.
Starting point is 00:36:42 Okay. Let me try to get this together. There's a lot. Your mom and your stepdad were together for many years. Your mom, as she's dying, lets you know that for the past seven years, she's not been with your stepdad, which is something new to you,
Starting point is 00:36:54 because you just knew them as together, right? They live together. Yeah, and you're trying to make medical decisions, but he can't because she's secretly married to the fool from Armenia that's younger than you. He's not married to him. No, she's not married to him. She was going to marry him.
Starting point is 00:37:09 And as I'm cleaning out her stuff, I found visas and everything to bring him over here. And I'm like, I'm like, where is this coming from, right? I'm like, first of all, I knew my mom and my dad were like separate or whatever. I didn't know they actually got a divorce, right? So it's right before she passes and I'm cleaning all her stuff and all of that, that I find all of this out. Mind you, now I have these hungry, hungry hippos coming for me for my dad's stuff, right? thinking that because my mom died first as his spouse he inherited everything from my mom. He died and now they would get his stuff. Yeah, I got you. Yeah, but fun thing is, is there's nothing but debt, right? And lies and confusion. They want the debt, the lies and confusion by all means, right?
Starting point is 00:37:58 Yes, yeah. I've been sitting in it since all of this happened. My mom and my dad, my dad loved her to death. Like, I remember my dad, my dad, reaction when she died. She died in our house. And my dad, I was eight and a half months pregnant trying to hold that man up because he couldn't breathe. And she died only a couple months after her. Like he couldn't handle it. Heartbreak.
Starting point is 00:38:23 So it's heartbreaking, but to know that my own mother did some scandalous stuff like that, like I love my mama to death, man. There's not a there's, oh, I love my mama, but, ooh. We're just out here giving our kids stress. Yeah. Like, that's
Starting point is 00:38:39 Crazy. Hey, so what happened to your would-be Armenian stepdad? Did he move to Glendale? My would be younger than me, Armenian stepdad? She could have been to Glendale, my girl. So when my mom died, right, he wrote this, like, giant letters on Facebook to me, right? And it was like two days after my mom had passed. And he starts talking about how much he loved her and how special their time was.
Starting point is 00:39:07 And I'm like, look, dude, I'm older than you. Like, I appreciate it, but like, I'm not blind. I know you were using my mom to come to America. Okay, I wasn't going to say that, my girl, okay? I wasn't going to say that, but I was kind of like, wait, hold on. Barreve, Lisa. Yeah, your mom and me very special. And my mama, my mama was 68, right?
Starting point is 00:39:32 And mind you, me and my husband have a big age difference, too. My husband's 20 years older than me. but you can't really tell, right? My husband looks younger, right? But, bruh. I didn't want to add to that fire, my girl, but I was kind of like, what is he? Yeah, no, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:39:50 What if she just got that thing on her? What if she's like, you don't know, she comes to Armenia. It was the best ever. Yes. And that's exactly what he's writing about, the time that he shared with my mom. Okay, can I ask you?
Starting point is 00:40:02 And it was such a privilege, and she was such a good lover. I'm like, don't talk about that kind of stuff with me. She was such a good lover. Yes. Okay, but wait, did he still kind of ask you, though, like, hey, she says she was going to bring me over, what can you do? Or he just left it at the stories?
Starting point is 00:40:16 Not yet, right? But so he kind of left that loophole open, right? And he's been kind of messaging me, trying to see how I'm doing and stuff like that. Nah, my boy. If my mom talked about anything, like, he had directly came out and said it, right? And I'm just waiting for him to grow up here, and so I can tell him to go F himself. Yeah. What if it was real?
Starting point is 00:40:37 Yeah. Yeah, no, it wasn't because... No, it wasn't. Great love to me. Great love. I remember countless times my mom being hurt by, you know, his post and his lies and stuff. Like, my mom was... And are you telling your siblings about this?
Starting point is 00:40:57 No. No, no. First of all, they don't, all of a sudden, I don't claim that I have them, right? Like I grew up my whole life without them, right? They abandoned my dad. My dad adopted me and raised me, right? Like, I was there through everything. I was three and a half years old when he adopted me pretty much, right?
Starting point is 00:41:16 And that's the only other, I have a bio dad, but that's the only dad that raised me. And, like, everything. I didn't have to call them when he died, right? I did that so they can say goodbye to him so that he can have that. I didn't do it for them. I did it for my dad. and because he hasn't seen them in many years and now dealing with all of this
Starting point is 00:41:37 and the only reason any of this surfaced and I remembered any of this was because the first thing the minute that my dad hadn't even been taken off life support at that time her first question was about getting my mom's money right and I'm like yeah good luck with that
Starting point is 00:41:53 because right before she died I found all that out good luck with that yeah dang you find out your your parents have a bed credit score and everything. Everything is happening. I'm being knowing that.
Starting point is 00:42:06 I was in collections at seven because my parents and my dad. I've been doing. All right. I've been knowing that. Cindy? I don't know. Say it with me, Cindy.
Starting point is 00:42:15 It could be worse. It could be worse. It could always be worse. Your mom and dad could be trying to bring in someone from the country. Buying BMWs left and right. All you got to worry about is your man, your dad possibly hooking up with one of your home girls
Starting point is 00:42:30 and your mom being cool with it. That's all you guys. Or one of your homeboys. I mean, shoot. Or one of your home boys is. You never know. Could be worse. We don't know how open.
Starting point is 00:42:38 Could be worse. This is. It beek's teachings. Teaching you words that sound bad. But it's actually not what you think. Offer Hispanic Heritage Month. Brought to you and sponsored by the gods. Los Dioces.
Starting point is 00:42:49 Oh my God. We are back with the big teachings, but it was today's word can be described as a fruit, a baby animal or an annoying friend. All right? The word for today is Mammon. Oh, my. What? No, wait, wait, everybody relax, okay? Today's word comes from mamar, which means to suck.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Okay. Or to nurse. Still bad. Oh, nurse. Ew, why are you holding up yours? Well, I'm just, you know, I'm doing a thing because, you know, that's women. It can be described a young animal that is still nursing. In several Latin American countries, Mammon is also the name of a
Starting point is 00:43:30 sweet tropical fruit, which I was... Yeah. Yeah, I got to put a bunch of Mamones in my mouth in Honduras. I love Mamones. I love Mamones. They're so good. Dude, I was like, stuff. And you have to slurp...
Starting point is 00:43:44 With Mamones? Lopelas there? No, no, no, no. You have to slurp Mamones. Like, you have to slurp because... Yes. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:43:50 It's the best. I didn't even peel it. I'd take it straight to the crane. My Salvi side loves Momon. Oh, dude. I almost choked on one. Let me tell you. That's how good it was.
Starting point is 00:43:58 What? We're talking about fruit. Yes, the fruit. Okay. Because I'm talking about fruit. Yes. I mean, in Mexico, the word Mamon can also be a derogatory term as arrogant, annoying, or a stuck-up or difficult person.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Like, no-se-as-ha-on, you know, hamon. You know what I'm saying? No-se-as-ham-on, you know? So depending on the translation, that's where you can get in trouble. But for today, Perritos, today, Mamon means to suck or to feed. No. Why are you holding up your t-tas? Why are you pushing him up like that?
Starting point is 00:44:31 Ew. Tu come, my more. Run away. Suchi. Tucombe, mage. You come, mage. Guys, come on, dude. Everybody has sucking up on one every now and then, okay?
Starting point is 00:44:45 Or not. That was the big teachings, guys. Suck every day. Let's go. Zool, come here? Now what's going on? Cheezmation with Angie. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:59 I was telling you, we may have just seen the last so Pesso Pluma. Don't say that. Because there's this big rumor saying that he's actually been banned from the U.S., okay? Now, reportedly, allegedly, this is according to this investigative reporter. Her name is Annabelle Hernandez. And she's saying that he got pretty much his immigration permit revoked from the U.S. So we won't be seeing him out here anymore. What?
Starting point is 00:45:25 He's not allowed over here. Yeah. More. More. Yeah, no more of that. He was killing it out here, bro. Taking all the fine white girls to Lakers game. Right.
Starting point is 00:45:44 Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was doing a thing. Yeah, what a win. He was. He was. You know what? What's crazy is that a couple of weeks ago, or maybe like two weeks ago, actually,
Starting point is 00:45:54 I was seeing that his house out in Newport Beach, that he was renting, it's actually up for sale. Like, he's not even. he's not there anymore. He had a house in Newport? He had a house in Newport. Okay. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:04 Oh yeah. He was really thriving. Oh yeah, no, he was. Because he was always seen like in Santa Ana, things like that, driving around at the mall. Okay, Hassan. Yeah. I like it was at the mall in Santa Ana and not at like Fashion Island. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:17 Yeah. They were always seen him in Sanana. Yeah, probably both. Yeah. For the Pappellas? The white girl that he was with that he had her tatted before the other girl. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:28 Yeah. Yeah. This is all again. and reportedly, allegedly, according to this investigative reporter. Well, I believe her. What she's saying, like, U.S. authorities are supposedly looking closely into his immigration status because of his background activities and connections. What's his background activity?
Starting point is 00:46:43 They're saying narco corridos and things like that. This is about dancing with a pretty girl. When he first started, he did have a lot of songs that were like... He's a change man. Why I got to bring up all stuff? Why would riding on the homie, bro? And then, like, Genesis, he has a lot of... Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:47:03 Yes. You're breaking. Is that way... I'm only saying this because he's taking all the hot girls. I'm always saying this because he's taking all the hot girls. Believe me, they wouldn't have looked your way. If they looked at him, they would look at me. That's all I'm going to say.
Starting point is 00:47:17 Are you saying that you look like best of bloomer? I can do the bang. See? Just like that. Just like them. They nailed it. We are minutes away from DJ Angie being getting on those terms. We love that you're here DJ NGV.
Starting point is 00:47:32 You're not down as this weekend. It is this weekend. It's a whole celebration of your birthday. It's been going on two weeks already. I mean, yeah, I feel like it. It's so funny because I'm always like, I don't really care about my birthday, but yet I have a whole festival. You know what I'm crazy.
Starting point is 00:47:46 Like it's fine. Don't make it a big deal, but this month's theme is Angie V's wedding. It's theme is me. Well, we love that we can share the love with you, and on the line, we have a very special friend of yours too. Look at her, look at her. The surprises keep on coming.
Starting point is 00:48:03 Comedian, extraordinaire, Angela Johnson. Good morning. Angina. What's up? Angina. Angina. There's so many Anges. All the greatest people. Hi.
Starting point is 00:48:17 Andina. Good morning. Angela Johnson. How are you? I'm good. How are y'all? Thank you so much for waking up early. You know, we had hit her like, hey, want to do something special for NGV?
Starting point is 00:48:30 She's like, I'll call Lynn. Listen, listen, I love that he thought I woke up early for Angie's, but I'm over here in Nashville, so I've been up, girl. Yeah, yeah, I'm going to say. I was going to say, where are you at? What side of the world are you at right now? Let me tell you guys something about Angie real quick. I've known Angie for years. I'm going to say how many years, because then you're going to really know that we're theos out here.
Starting point is 00:48:53 They know. I think they know. It's okay. I've known Angie since our early Cholade days when we were skiing. skinny, skinny. Let me tell you. We were out here going to Michael Jackson's house. Y'all don't even know.
Starting point is 00:49:07 Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Michael Jackson's house. I see Michael Jackson. We went to Neverland Ranch for his, I think, was one of his, his last big party before the caca hit the fan. We were there with like, it was the most amazing day. It still is one of the most top amazing days of my life.
Starting point is 00:49:24 Of course. It was like going to Willy Wonka in the Chocolate Factory. But from Michael Jackson. And seen it for yourself. Yeah. Yeah. It was 100% It was magical
Starting point is 00:49:31 We had chills Michael Jackson walked right by us Me and Angie started crying Came in for a second It was wild It was wild What was happening It's a real thing
Starting point is 00:49:41 What? Listen And I love you so much Happy birthday I wish I could be there For You're not down That's the ultimate party of parties The fact that we got Angela Johnson
Starting point is 00:49:53 To come out to your not down Was like wild And I didn't even have to twist our arm She's like hey I think we're gonna come And I was like What? what? And she was there.
Starting point is 00:50:00 She was vibing out. And I was like, go. It, girl. I loved it. I loved every second of it. I wish I could go again. But I'm out here in Nashville. That's why I had to start off with, hey, y'all, because that's right.
Starting point is 00:50:12 Okay, that's fine. You're still down. You're still down. You are still down. I love you. I'm always down. Thank you for calling for me. I love you.
Starting point is 00:50:19 I'm so happy to hear from you. That makes me so, so happy. And we got to shoot some more content. I love you. Thank you. Thank you. Love you, Ann. Cuteie five.
Starting point is 00:50:28 She loved her. Okay. How did you get in? Did you sneak in? Did you pretend you're in unsure? Were you security? So Ange at the time, like we were in our dancer phase, right? So we were doing dance auditions.
Starting point is 00:50:39 We wanted to be backup dancers. Andrew was a little big girl. Like we were, we thought we were, that was the thing. And so she had, she was talking to, or a friend of hers was someone from a station, another station. I don't know how y'all are connected. So I can say the station. But another station. Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:53 I know, Rata. And so basically, she called. me like the night before and she's like, Ange, tomorrow morning, this time I need you to meet me in Burbank. I think here actually, so it's probably one of these. I need you to meet me in Burbank and I need you to get on a bus because we're going to Michael Jackson's
Starting point is 00:51:09 birthday party. We are going to be hired as... You are dancers? The dancers of just the vibes like the party in the 10. Oh, to get it going. Yeah. But we're not going to pay no money and I was like, girl, I don't care. Oh my God, are you crazy? So I had a few hours to get like the next morning we jump on a bus. They buss us
Starting point is 00:51:25 out to Neverland. Take our phones. We get in and when I tell you guys, like, because I think it was his birthday party, and it was that year that he allowed people to buy tickets for like thousands of dollars, it was like going to no, like every ride, every food was free. I threw up from eating so much candy, like food.
Starting point is 00:51:42 You're just running around a free amusement park and you got all access except inside of his house. Of course. Like you could have jumped in the pool, the playhouse. Like it was the craziest day ever. That's insane. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:54 It's just, I still can't believe that happens to me. Like it's so wild. That's amazing. Yeah. Well, that's a crazy story. So you're out to ask. That was because of her. DJ NGV.
Starting point is 00:52:01 We're about to turn up. This is not in November, Neverland Ranch. But look, we're going to hit it up. It's the second best. There we go. Well, thank you. I was like, Neverland Power 106.
Starting point is 00:52:11 No, DJ NGV in the mix. Power 106. Come on. Brown bag morning's house party mix with DJ NGV. Power 106. And NGV is here. Hey, what's the V for?
Starting point is 00:52:28 Vasquez. Oh, nice. Angel Vasquez Queen over here. You're getting in trouble a lot in school, huh? I didn't get, first of all, personally, they'd love me, but I did get talks too much all the time. It wasn't about my grades on a report card.
Starting point is 00:52:43 It was about, and if you, that report card comes home with talks too much. A bunch of yous? Yep, it's a rap. You had lunch attention, a lot, I could tell. A lot is strong. A lot of talk. I had lunch attention, too.
Starting point is 00:52:56 Hey, I need to talk to you guys about this new movie that's out in theaters right now. If I go, will they miss me? It's based out here in Watts, California, over at Nickerson Gardens, and we had a chance to talk to the director. He's the homie at this point, man. He's amazing.
Starting point is 00:53:10 His name is Walter Thompson, Hernandez. He's tall AF, just in case anybody wanted to know. He is. He is. Super tall. And the thing about this movie, I had a chance to check it out. Again, it's in theaters right now.
Starting point is 00:53:21 It follows the story of Anne and Lil' Aunt. It's him, and it's like a coming-of-age story for this kid. Okay. But his dad was locked up for a long time. And then his dad comes out trying to find that reconnection with Pops that wasn't really there for him. And then growing up where you're growing up and was.
Starting point is 00:53:39 And you also see what's really tight about this movie is you see, you see how it is to live out here in L.A. But as kids, when trauma happens or when stuff gets to, like you get detached from a parent, you start filling in those spaces in your brain. And this kid did it with like Poseidon. Like he would tell his friends like My dad's Poseidon
Starting point is 00:54:01 You know Mythology Just a way to I guess Deal with the trauma right Yeah We had a chance to talk to Walter himself And he told us that this is really true to home Because his dad too wasn't there
Starting point is 00:54:15 When he was younger listen I didn't know my dad My dad's black by my mom Mexican right I didn't know my dad growing up But like so many of my friends also didn't know their dads right Yeah So what we did was like We created mythologies
Starting point is 00:54:25 About where these men were Right? Like we'd have uncles or like cousins or neighbors who like would be gone for a year or two years or five years. They would come back and there'd be a party for them, right? Yeah. Nobody knew where they went. Nobody told us where they went. But like they got locked up. They had second families, right?
Starting point is 00:54:43 Like all these sort of things. And so for me it's like this movie is really sort of examining what it looks like and what it feels like to mythologize complicated men in our lives, right? And like how we can do that in the process. Because I feel like mythology for me is like a way of understanding the mystery of the world, right? Yeah. And like what big or more intense mystery than like a complicated dad? Damn. I know.
Starting point is 00:55:05 I was so emo just talking to him. He was like, why this lady just on the verge of tears? He almost cried. He's talking. Yes. But it's some real stuff. Yeah. Again, beautiful cinematic film.
Starting point is 00:55:15 It's shot so well. This guy is the next director and he's from out here and he's black and brown. So we all can wrap him. Yeah. But for him to poetically put that. that relationship between a dad and their child, it happens. Some of us don't have the best relationships, so we've got to figure it out as we go.
Starting point is 00:55:33 Life don't give you the pat on the back for that type of stuff. But it was funny because low-key Odyssey came out this year. And then over here is the Odyssey. I'm like, hey, so when you saw The Odyssey, were you like, fucking Christopher Nolan? Check this up. On our last day of production, one of our producers was like, hey, man, I heard Christopher Nolan's making a movie called The Odyssey.
Starting point is 00:55:51 Oh, my God. That was saying. Give me a, Christopher Nolan? Like the Batman Like the greatest The greatest thing All time Like that you mean that one
Starting point is 00:55:59 Right right But I wasn't really tripping Right Because I'm just like Okay well cool Like this is like The Black Odyssey Right
Starting point is 00:56:04 Like Odysseus is actually black In our movie right Like Ithaca is Watts Right So like you know what I'm saying So I wasn't tripping It just shows that you guys are on the same wavelength Yeah man
Starting point is 00:56:13 I'm not our tight Right here Bro I love that I love that I love that I love the Odyssey This is just right up there too
Starting point is 00:56:21 And it feels like Such an LA movie And you know I had to start having that combo with him because he does go by Walter Thompson Hernandez. And it's really cool to see him in this space getting all this recognition. And he said that he made sure Hernandez was in his name on purpose to pay homage. Listen. My government name is Walter Thompson, right?
Starting point is 00:56:42 But like, I don't know. I started to get older. And I was like, man, like my Mexican family who helped raise me is so important to me. Right. Like I love them so much. And for me, it's kind of honoring them. Like, Walter Thompson does not capture who I am fully. I'm also Hernandez.
Starting point is 00:56:54 And yeah, it was like a conscious choice to add them. To add that. Yeah, because I love it so much. I love being both black and brown, you know. What was your nickname in your family? Walillo. Oh, I like that. So funny.
Starting point is 00:57:06 Hey, that's a good question. That's like a very Mexican-coated question. Trio, hey, Wali-o, man. What's your name inside of house? Exactly, man. Broca's legit. Walter, running around? Okay.
Starting point is 00:57:15 Walter. You know what I'm saying? Walter. Walter. Walillo. I love that. What's your name in your family? What before?
Starting point is 00:57:23 It's honestly just anchi, inci. Because my mom can say Anchi. But before, it would be a chatta. Whoa. Because you need to chat that. No, no, no. No, your nose might, yeah, when I was little. Your nose kind of a little flatter.
Starting point is 00:57:35 Yeah. Arequitos. Is that what that means? Yeah. What about you, Angie? I'm just Angie. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:41 Honestly. If I'm in trouble, Angela. Oh. Yeah. The phoning comes out. I don't think I had like a little. Like a family nickname? My grandma called me Chequita.
Starting point is 00:57:50 Yeah. Oh, I see that's what? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I'd like that. Gregorio. Damn. You're in trouble.
Starting point is 00:57:57 That's how I know I'm in trouble. I'm about to get yelled at or something. Just Gregorio. Oh. I had Tucci. I don't know because my mom used to call me Tutsi roll because this is way back in the day. And I would love that song. But flat.
Starting point is 00:58:09 Let me see that Tutsi Ro. She was a song. She was singing down to the lid. And so they would call me Tutsi but then they couldn't say it. Okay, that's cute. I like that. That's cute. Yeah, that is cute.
Starting point is 00:58:21 Thank you for me. Thank you, Walter Thompson and others for hanging out with us. The homie Wailio, make sure you go peep the movie if you haven't already. If I go, will they miss me? I'm telling you, this guy is someone we can all stand behind. And the movies that are probably in his head and in the works right now, they're about to just set the whole industry on fire. So big up to that guy.
Starting point is 00:58:42 And let's get into Studios Food. Hey, Scott. Hell of Studios. What's 9 plus 10? Turn in line? Look at this, Studio's food. All right, Peritos, Les. And the great debate once and for all because a recent study in the U.S.
Starting point is 00:58:56 surveyed 2,500 people rated fries from fast food chains all across the nation. It's Friday, get it? I love that, con. So check it out. So we got the top five. I'm going to start with number, actually we have the top four. So we're going to pick up the number four in and out scored 5.8 in California. And I can hear you already.
Starting point is 00:59:19 They're not loving it, dog. But I think, I mean, I thought it was in a. top five, I wouldn't, I didn't think it was going to be number four. You know what I'm saying? Dude, this one is crazy because who the hell goes here? I don't even know how they stay open, dog. Arby's is at number three, dog. Arby's comes in a number three.
Starting point is 00:59:37 Yes, and that's why you need to go out and vote. With curdie. With curdie. Because it don't make no sense. Because apparently their curly fries are to die for, all right? Really? Yes. And then we got a tie for number two.
Starting point is 00:59:50 We got five guys and Chick-fil-A tied with. with a 6.7 rating. Oh, I like Chick-Fillay. Five guys is better. Because Chick-fil-Lay you only get waffle fries. It's a good. They're sold different. Five guys is out of business.
Starting point is 01:00:01 You're not out of business? You sure? Yeah. Have you been in five guys lately? Yeah, there's one by my house. Are you Haiti? Are you sure? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:10 Check. The one instead of, yeah, it's still there. That was there last night, dude. What was going on? Yeah, they have great fries. If you can't afford it. If you can't afford it, then just say that. I can't.

Starting point is 01:00:29 Gras He likes the nuts And the five dice I'm allergic Oh yeah And number one guys We know who it is It's the golden standard
Starting point is 01:00:38 The crispiest of crispies The one and only McDonald's French fries Takes the number one With a 7.3 out of 10 rating Perito I mean of course
Starting point is 01:00:50 Talk of course Taste the warmness in my mouth Well, you know what, dude? Yes, yes. Bro, the fries are that good. Of five guys? Oh, McDonald's fries. Oh, who's McDonald's?
Starting point is 01:01:01 Bro, that's crazy. I could taste ralding to my mouth. Dude, that's crazy. The warm sensation is crazy. That is crazy. It's always the guys that get this way. Put a little ketchup on that, bro. Put a little ketchup on it called Cino.

Starting point is 01:01:30 Is it Red Robin? With the bottomless fries? That's crazy. State fries? You can pour all your seasoning on them? Yeah, you can pour it on. Man, just, McDonald's hits every time.
Starting point is 01:01:38 Never fails. Never fails. Never fails. Never fails. Golden standard. I want some right now. Yeah. With the Coke?
Starting point is 01:01:44 Oh, with the crispy. It's some coax. Dude. Extra carbonation. Oh, dude. It's a CO2. But it goes. You don't have been seen a lot.

Starting point is 01:03:12 A proud Raider fan. So get ready. Yes. Yes. Dyer. Die hard. Die hard. Birth, born and raised.
Starting point is 01:03:20 Okay. I'm glad you're here because this fool was waiting on the moment for Raider friends to not be in here so that he could talk smack. Not on our watch. Not on our watch. The Raiders are about to take their first L right now. You know, I know that the two and O... Wait, wait, wait.
Starting point is 01:03:33 You're a Chargers fan? I'm a Chargers fan. I'm a Chargers fan. I didn't take an L last weekend when we play Chargers. But go ahead. Go ahead. Keep going. You're ready.
Starting point is 01:03:39 You're ready. You're going to take an L after this. Okay. Because their newest quarterback Fernando Mendozae. You know, number one draft pick. Everybody was going crazy for him. Yeah. He's the next big thing.
Starting point is 01:03:49 I love Cuban king. Yep. Yet the Raiders have him on the bench. Listen. Go ahead. This one was so bored on the bench that he's starting to do commercials now. Oh. And he is terrible at it.
Starting point is 01:04:02 He did a finance commercial and he's trying to call it finance what Fernando. You have to listen to this. I'm Fernando Mendoza. Pro quarterback. But my true passion is fiscal responsibility. Woo. Let's flip and go. So get pumped for my educational video series.
Starting point is 01:04:17 finance with Fernando. Finance. A practical guy for Gen Zee and make the most of their money. Get up with 401k contributions. Oh my goodness. And this is not AI? This is not AI.
Starting point is 01:04:31 This is real? I think it's AI. I think it's AI. No, this is the Fernando Mendoza. Yes. Shouldn't he be on the field? Was it fiscal finance? That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:04:39 Yeah, he should be on the field. Instead, he's trying to do the counting field or whatever, the numbers field. But he's the backup. So they have it. He's not the backup. He's the backup of the backup. Yeah, so then they don't need him right now.
Starting point is 01:04:51 He's just not, because he's throughout. Because we still need to seal that deal, right? We're rebuilding the whole point. Of course, we've been rebuilding for 100,000 years. Yeah, yeah. But I think it shows that, like, we understand that this is a growth process. Yes, right? It's a growth process.
Starting point is 01:05:05 He needs to get, he's, you know, he's a new booty. He still needs to kind of see, I think Kirk Cousins is doing an amazing job of, you know, showing him the ropes. And I think it shows great restraint and a long. long-term planning on the Raiders behalf. Do you see the BS that's coming out of her mouth so eloquently? Okay, okay. She's like, did I do good? Did I do good?
Starting point is 01:05:28 Don't you guys fire a coach every year? Well, what we don't think about the past, right? We move forward. Right? We are a loyal group of people. We just move forward. And yeah, we do fire because it's not working, right? I will say, I think everyone can agree
Starting point is 01:05:42 that this season is looking a lot better than any. You guys have two wins. So what? We only had three wins all year last time. We are two. We're talking to an undefeated person right now, right? Okay? Hey, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:55 We undefeated. Don't talk to me with that. We're undefeated, my boy. You know what? Hold on. Let them lose a game. He's going to spark how you go. Well, we didn't lose to the Chargers, so it's fine.
Starting point is 01:06:04 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Thanks for that, great. You just got told off, okay? Okay, all right. I'll make it. I'll take it. I'll take it. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:06:15 It was so.
