Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up? This is Be Real from Cypress Hill. Where are you from, Esse? Don't you know I'm local? All right, it's time to celebrate one of our very own Dodgers. I know they lost yesterday, but one of them just made history coming to the bat. Number five, Freddie Freeman. Wow.
Starting point is 00:00:19 This is ad bat song. Go, Freeman. All right, check this out. Our guy, Freddie Freeman, who is low-key, my favorite, simply because of his walk-out songs. He has this one, and he has the other, like, a beat. like EDM vibes. And he's really good. He's incredibly good, okay?
Starting point is 00:00:34 Let me check this out. He is the first player in Dodgers history with 20 home runs and 35 doubles before August. Okay, so shout to Freeman for that. Shout to Freeman for knocking that out the park. I have, I hear he has a lot of stolen bases too. Like he's good at stealing bases. You got some wheels on him.
Starting point is 00:00:52 Pretty cool beans. All right. I just hope that he is now happy being a Dodger because the whole background of spiel with Freddie Freeman is. that he used to be in the land of Braves. He was there for 12 seasons. The way that we love like a Kershaw is the way that they love Freddie Freeman, okay? And they still didn't sign him.
Starting point is 00:01:11 And Dodgers got him on his 13th season. Even when the Dodgers went back to go play the Braves, this fool was acting like he wanted the old thing back. He was crying. He was thanking the fans. Thank you for coming out. He was like that. And like he even went to the press conference.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Like he couldn't hold himself together just crying over his ex. It was crazy. That's wild. And then you see like Dodgers like, hey, we Dodgers like you leveled up. Why are you crying? It's not our fault that Atlanta Braves to quote Angie were brokies. You didn't pay you what you were worth, baby? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:47 And so, but it's it seemed like, okay, it seems like he might not want to be here. He even said like, I just need time to heal. Bro, when a guy needs time to heal. Oh, yeah. It's sad. That's wrong. Can he be simple? of the year?
Starting point is 00:02:00 For a team. It's crazy. That's wild. Okay, but now, like, he's making history on the Dodgers. You see, like, at least Dodger fans have definitely embraced him, right? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:09 Because just, like, it took him a while to get accustomed to Dodgers. I know Dodgers fans that were like, if you're coming here, you better want to be here or else we don't mess with you either. Facts. But do you think, like, he's, like, a Dodger now?
Starting point is 00:02:21 I think so. He's owned it. Yeah. It takes a little while, you know? You start to go to other stadiums, and then people start to treat you like a Dodger for worse, you know?
Starting point is 00:02:30 So, like, he goes up to San Francisco and he's like, oh, you didn't used to get hated this much in Atlanta, you know? Who were the Braves, like, you know how we have the Giants and we have the Madres? Yeah. Who is that for the Braves? The Braves, I think. Because they feel like they seem really nice. It's, oh, like the Cardinals, anybody in their division, right?
Starting point is 00:02:50 Yeah. Yeah, like the Cardinals is a big one because they win a lot. And then also the Cubs. Oh. Yeah, the Cubs. Okay. question. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:59 Does everyone hate the Dodgers the way that the Giants and the Padres do? Or like when we go to other stadiums, are there actual like people happy to see us? I would say most, most of the teams hate us. And especially as of recently. Well, his same teams that hate him still hate him as a Dodger. But now he also gets hate from like the Padres and the game. Yeah. The Dodger hate.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Yeah, you get the Dodger hate because now like the Dodgers are looked at as like the Yankees of the West. Yeah. Because they pay for a lot of, you know, top free. agents and stuff like that and like we're good you know dang i was reading this thing i was reading this thing about the dodgers how we do great at making the little not little leagues but the leagues under like scouting oh the farm system yeah the farm system and i was like wait hold on we're farming players i don't know that what that means and i think that that's just a dodger thing because they're like that's what really sets them apart we're essentially we're creating little baseball players
Starting point is 00:03:52 yeah developing how how how so you get them at a young age whether it's like sounds like rooming When I hear farming, I'm like, wait, what are the Dodgers doing? It's farming, not human. So you get him at a very young age. They're like crops. They're like crops. You make them love the color blue. When you get your tilapia, it's farms.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Yeah, yeah, fish farms. But we're humans, dog. No, what they do is they open academies in different countries. Right? So they open, like, they were very early on opening an academy in the Dominican Republic. public. Wow. Yeah. So they have a whole academy, a whole system of like they'll take a bunch of players and then they'll put them through their system and then when it's time to sign them, they'll sign them. Yeah, they have scouts the whole time. Oh yeah. They have scouts in different countries.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Could there be players in those things that don't end up on the Dodgers? 100%. There's a lot of players that don't end up. But because it's there, they're more than likely to join the Dodgers because they see how they've been treated and stuff like that, right? Yeah. And then they have like a G league. So then they put those players through that process. The minor league system. And then from there, that's where they choose the players to bring up. And other players could go to other teams eventually. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:05 I wonder who the Dodger head that thought of that was. Well, it was like. Because if it's a Dodger thing or something that at least were being really good at doing. Yeah, it was forward thinking when they started putting academies in different countries, that's for sure. That was like, I think, in the 80s or something. Damn. You know who they found. I don't know if you know him, but Pedro Martinez, who was like a legendary.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Yeah, of course they know. My cousin. Yeah. Legend. Legend. But he's like a Hall of Fame. Pitcher. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Hall of Fame pitcher. And him and his brother, Ramon, were like really good. They both came up through a Dodger system. And then they sent Pedro to the Red Sox and he became like a legendary. Legend. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Dodger Farm is crazy. A lot of teams have it. Not just the Dodger dogs. Yeah. No, but we. And that were the doggots come from too. It's all on the same farm. The players, the hot dogs.
Starting point is 00:05:52 It's all the same. I don't like that. I don't like that. It's all good. Well, shout up, Freddie for you. That's really cool, though. I'm excited for him and to actually have this career for him to be 12 seasons on the Braves
Starting point is 00:06:03 and then have a whole new like rebirth essentially on the Dodgers because he's killing it. I used to hate the Braves growing up because I had TBS. Oh, yeah. And they always played the Braves. They were always on. Yes. Why? Because it was like basic cable.
Starting point is 00:06:16 So Turner, the company owned TBS and they owned the Braves. Oh, so they were like, you go watch the Braves there. If you have cable, you were like at any given moment, the Braves were on. You're like, why is the game? Why is the Braves blade? Yeah. You're like,
Starting point is 00:06:30 where is it later? Yeah. All right. That's amazing. Well, look at us. Look at us. We're on this Monday morning. Ken is the villain.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Ken is the villain, you guys. I saw the Barbie movie. I did? I saw it too. Yeah. Wow. Ken is the villain. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Right, Vic? No. Oh. You're such a Ken. He was just trying to gain his own identity. His identity is Barbie. No. Yes.
Starting point is 00:06:58 That's not. Yes. No. There was a part in the movie spoiler there. It's like, Barbie has an amazing day every day. And Ken has an amazing day. If Barbie looks at him. That was so true.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Nah, it was messed up the whole time. Barbie's just giving Ken the step arm. Okay, we are going to recap Barbie coming up at 7 o'clock. Sounds like it. Oh, but I haven't seen it. I'll step out of the room. Yeah. I want to step out of the room before you guys do that.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Okay. No, it was awesome. Honestly. Ken, Stop talking about it. Stop talking about it. Go Ken. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:07:30 What are you doing over there? I'm just scared. Come here. Come here. Sambra Sala with Angie. All right, you guys, think of the pettiest thing you've ever done. Done. Petiest thing.
Starting point is 00:07:42 Petriest. Wow. I don't you have a lot big. Because I'm telling you guys, I don't think you guys can beat Little Scrappy. Okay, what's going? All right. A little Scrappy was married with Bambi, his wife for like five years. And then the finally.
Starting point is 00:07:56 announced they're a divorce right and so like let me give you a little recap of little scrap because I don't think you guys know the bangers home boy hat I'm like come on like but he's money in the bank
Starting point is 00:08:20 that's not late for you guys he's on all those songs all those songs I need to give you guys a little refresh because I'm like come on you can't forget his bangers you guys but apparently he was married with Bambi and they were living together for like quite some time, even though they were already separated.
Starting point is 00:08:43 And it was weird because Bambi, his girl, his ex-wife, she even did like a whole disc track about him while they were still living together. Oh, damn. It was called Wait for you. And I'm telling you, it was not that great. But anyway, so he finally announced those crap. He finally announced his divorce and he announced it in the pettiest way. He went on to IG and invited like the whole, everyone in the city of ATL saying like, hey, I'm
Starting point is 00:09:08 divorced. We outside. and he threw himself a party. A divorce party, guy. Oh, my gosh. Wow. So he went on and he put a whole video saying like, hey, come outside.
Starting point is 00:09:19 We outside, fool. Listen. Y'all weren't coming to my divorce party. Come and hollet me. Yes, we're going up. I'm back outside. Wow. What is the theme?
Starting point is 00:09:30 Seriously, he had a whole flyer, a whole little paragraph saying, like, I'm outside. My dad told me, why do we even have to celebrate birth? and death, but we don't celebrate separation from something that wasn't for you. Yeah. That was his model.
Starting point is 00:09:44 That's why he's throwing himself his little. He's very excited. Hold on. Wait. I want to hear it one more time. Listen, yeah. Let me see it. Y'all weren't coming to my divorce party.
Starting point is 00:09:51 Come and hollet me. Yes, we're going up. I'm back outside. You're telling me he doesn't sound dead inside. Like, undertones of like, at that time, at that time, he was actually getting like his hair washed. Okay. So he was a little relaxed. Self care.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Self care right there. Yeah, getting ready for the party. I can go two ways. Like, I am so happy. She's out of my life. I have to celebrate it. Yeah. Or, please keep me company because I'm so sad.
Starting point is 00:10:18 That's what that sounded like. He sounds like the Kermit meme when he's like, chilling, and as a man, I've been there. I've just, I've been, I've called the homeless.
Starting point is 00:10:27 We outside is a clear indicator that he's hurting inside. Yes. Exactly. He said, we outside because I can't live inside anymore. Yay. No. And she probably does not care.
Starting point is 00:10:42 If that's the case, she's probably like, I don't care. Be outside, honey. Women heal so differently. But he's trying to heal outside because inside is bad. He had a whole birthday, I mean, not a birthday, but a cake. And it said, free at last, thank God. Oh, my gosh. Free at last.
Starting point is 00:10:59 I'm so happy right now. I'm free, but I don't want to be. I don't know, you guys. But I've never seen anything like this at the divorce party. No, definitely not. And it trips me out like a dude wanting a divorce party because usually like all the parties are like, oh, why do we got to do this? Why do we have to have a gender review? Why do we have to get married?
Starting point is 00:11:21 The divorce party is super down. Oh yeah. He loves it at the club and whatever he wanted. His ex is probably like, oh, now you plan something. The whole time you couldn't plan anything. It's probably what you always wanted from him. Yeah. For him to just like help plan.
Starting point is 00:11:36 No, no, no. To him to help plan something. You said a divorce? That's what I always wanted. Oh, little scrappy. Maybe we'll get some dope crump music after this. Maybe. Because I was listening to music the other day.
Starting point is 00:11:49 I was making the girls listen to crunk music. No way. Remember? Yeah, we were. We went to read at Wild Carver. You were listening to Trilville. Yeah, I was, ever, ever, ever, ever. Be it up why you want to look up.
Starting point is 00:12:02 You turn the up. And let them in the car, like, what y'all know about this? Yeah, I did. I did. You know what's what I did? I did the the ay,
Starting point is 00:12:11 the hootat by JT felony and I was like dude you guys come on what I'm talking about this It was so funny because Lettie was like
Starting point is 00:12:20 turned up his house and me and Angie were like in a phone coma like oh my God Letti playing bone crusher I was for real
Starting point is 00:12:28 say less because I never scared okay and this is this perfect this is my little I manifested this
Starting point is 00:12:38 Crime music and then I summoned a story. Summend the spirit of little scrappy. I never scared. All right. Thank you, Angie. All right, that's it for Sambrasala. Brat to your by a local, Southern California, Toyota dealers. I'm Angie from Brownback Morning.
Starting point is 00:12:56 All right, you guys, you're having too much fun. Spar 106 Brownback Morning. Good morning, good morning. We just hugged somebody out with these tickets to go see. Arsenal take on Barcelona. I got a cool Arsenal jersey. Yes. Looks vibes, right?
Starting point is 00:13:12 Yeah, I look like a highlighter. You do. Can miss you. It's all good. It's the best team, though. I'm either a soccer player or I'm directing traffic. It's one or the other. All right, hold on.
Starting point is 00:13:23 You're a newfound arsenal fan? Oh, I'm the biggest new arsenal. So, look, it's pretty easy to, like, win my fandom these days. Yeah, yeah. You've got to get some of the. No, but it's the way it was presented, okay? Shout out to Maximo for hooking up the play. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:38 And somebody, over the weekend, somebody delivered the Arsenal jersey personally to my door. Mind you, I live in like a gated apartment. So like, I don't know how he got in, but he came in with the biggest smile, knocked on my door, had to held the box up. And I was like, who the hell is this? I opened the door and he's like, here you go, bro. Can't wait to see you at the event. And then he just, he's like, see you later, man.
Starting point is 00:14:01 And I was like. With the peace night? Yeah. Yes. And I was just like, thank you. Yeah. And it had my name on it and everything. And then my mom. I was like, who was that?
Starting point is 00:14:08 I'm like, I don't know. And then I opened it. I'm like, dude, Arsenal rocks. I love Arsenal. It's so great. It reminds me of like the, like my super sweet 16 when they used to give the invitations and like they show like you pull up to the door like and hand delivering. All of that.
Starting point is 00:14:26 It's just the customization that made the personalization. I didn't even know what event he was talking about and I was like, I'll be there. I'll be there. I'll be there. I'll be there. Yeah. And I can't wait to do you too, bro. I open the box.
Starting point is 00:14:35 There's no directions to nothing. I'm just like, I'm going to find it. I'll find it. I'll find it. I'll find it. That's how much I want to go. You're going to find me with this highlighted jersey around. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:43 But shout out to Barcelona. They're taking Barcelona. Arsenal. They're taking on Barcelona. Irene, who did we just hook up with these tickets to go to SoFi Stadium and enjoy the game? Damien from Whittier. All right. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:14:56 I got a lie. I was in the cut trying to call. You're so loud. We can't win these TV. But we do got another pair coming up right now, though. We got to talk about the event of the weekend. Oh, my God. Barbenheimer.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Barbenheimer. You either saw Barbie or Openheimer or you have someone in your house that's really mad at you for not going. That is me. Yeah. I tried at 8.30 p.m. and it didn't work. You're so dumb. Hey, I went to the Grove and I went to the Apple Store, but I was like there and, you know, they have the movie theater there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:24 And then everybody is either in like all like super highlight pink, super highlight or pink. It's going to be me. Or like all the men were just in bomber jackets. Yeah. Super hot outside, but I don't care. They're like, no. No. This is a movie about war.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Atomic bomb. Back in the day, men, war. And then, like, just the women are just like, oh, my God, I love this outfit, like, with their kids. So you saw the movie at the Grove? No, no. My girl wishes. I took my girl to the Commerce Center. Let's go!
Starting point is 00:15:54 Commerce Center! She was so mad. Why? Angie. I don't know. Angie. Look, I spoiled her. The food is great, you guys.
Starting point is 00:16:01 The food is great. They have hot chigos and nacho cheese at the commerce center. Yes. I feel like they have bacon wrap of hot talks there. They have anything you needed. And it's like, nothing is like pre-packaged, like frozen. You could tell somebody in the back just made this. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Commerce theater is so funny because I love commerce theater. Outside, there's like a bunch of food trucks there. I love going over there on a Sunday afternoon. That shopping center, can be a little. Yeah. Hey, but life's a risk, carnal. Life's a rich. You're getting a little.
Starting point is 00:16:33 Oh, Bracely, you're good to go. It's worth it. Okay. You pulled up and you took her there. Yes. And this is like you normally take her to the nice spots. Like grove. And not that the conversation is not a nice spot.
Starting point is 00:16:43 But it's just there's levels. Yeah, I take her to like the Americana, the grove. Like just all the nice places in L.A., like near the crib. Right. And when she pulled up, she called me and was so mad. She's like, where did you bring me? And I was like, I was like, I thought, you know, like this is the only, this is like the place that I found the movie. And like it's in the middle of both of our houses.
Starting point is 00:17:08 I thought it was convenient. Yeah. Your thought process is so cute. You have me in the trenches. Which you did. I did. You did. But hey, she can't handle you there.
Starting point is 00:17:18 I know. She needs to work for it. In that moment, I knew I'd spoiled her with all the nice stuff, all the fancy places were going. But it's like, all right, girl, we're out the honeymoon stage. Yep. Back to reality. Back to reality.
Starting point is 00:17:30 I'm in the hood. You take your own advice. Not to spoil them too early. I know. I love that. I love that though because legit, that is a spot where you see, is she really down for you? Yes. If you want to know if she's really down for you, take her to the commerce theater.
Starting point is 00:17:43 Barely. She has second thoughts. All right. But I do love commerce theater because it's just so, it's so us. Yeah. It's so, Angie, I forgot what movie we went to go see. But it did have to be because the showtimes were crazy. And that's how this weekend was. You had to keep refreshing the page, see which times you fit.
Starting point is 00:18:01 I was looking like, damn, I'm going to have to go see Barbie at 11 in the morning because I was trying to get tickets enough for me and the boys, but like three tickets is like a weird number. So trying to figure that out, like sometimes there's one or two, but there's rarely three. And I was just trying to figure it out. But we ended up to go, we ended up watching it. And I liked that even they liked it.
Starting point is 00:18:22 It was good. They wore all black. And I'm like, oh, God, all right. They're like, what you guys want to wear? They're like, we want to wear all black. And I was like, don't try to play like you don't want to go see Barbie. Like these fools want to go see Barbie. They don't want us to know.
Starting point is 00:18:34 they want to see Barbie? And I'm like, bro, it's fine. It's not a big deal. Yeah. That's hilarious. They had a good time. They were definitely Ken fans. It's good balance.
Starting point is 00:18:42 It's actually a better balance than I believe. Once I got in there and I was watching a movie, I'm like, oh, okay, this is actually like everybody can enjoy this. Yeah. Will Ferrell was in it? Yes. I didn't know. I didn't know he was in it until I was watching it.
Starting point is 00:18:54 Oh. America Ferrer was a character, incredible. Yes. I love her. She was awesome. Yeah, she was great. Like, I don't want to spoil anything, but like, there was like representation all around. across the board.
Starting point is 00:19:04 I love it. And then her daughter was just like my little sister, Gen Z. Really? They're just like, oh my God, everything sucks. Like you're holding up to patriarchy. Oh, my God. You exist to make us suffer. Barbie, what is even that?
Starting point is 00:19:18 Like your standards or whatever. You're a misrepresentation of all women. And you were right, Maximo, when you said that Barbie floats down. Oh, really? Yeah. Oh, my God. That was my favorite part. Don't meet.
Starting point is 00:19:30 A lot of us go late. Don't go late to this movie. Yeah. The beginning part is like, the part that's going to snap you back to when you were little playing with Barbie. So don't go late. It was good. All right.
Starting point is 00:19:39 But we'll be back because we have Word on Rose Cans on the way. And there's some drama there too. Yeah, I bet you thought you got rid of your ex. But Elon Musk won't let you, all right? You'll find out more next. Okay, let's get into that next. It's Power 106. I met Doja Cat.
Starting point is 00:19:54 You did? How was that? How is she? She smelled really good. Yeah? Really? Yeah. She smelled good.
Starting point is 00:19:59 And I was like, dang, you have so much style. Yeah, she's dumb. Because she has, like, a cool look. Like, it's her look. It's her thing. It's her look. It's very avant-garde. But I'm just, like, looking at, like, the fashion she put together.
Starting point is 00:20:10 She had, like, a cool schoolgirl vibe. And I'm like, damn, when I try to recreate that, I just look, I look crazy. I look like I'm selling gingerbread cookies or something that the Girl Scouts do. Like, you always see it and you're like, oh, I have inspiration. Yeah. You can't pull it up. Some people know how to pull things off. She's one of them.
Starting point is 00:20:26 She has a new album on the way. And it's a rap album. It is. It's rap. She put it on her backpack for this. Yes. And you know how, I love that. So I can't wait.
Starting point is 00:20:38 I cannot wait. I cannot wait until it drops. I don't know when it drops. They played music for us and they're like, don't talk about it. So here I am talking about it. So, yeah, I'm going to shut up now. I'm going to ask more questions. Like, which one was your favorite?
Starting point is 00:20:48 Yeah, I want to tell you too because I have notes. You guys know me. I take notes for everything. What's your favorite bar? Yeah, I'll break it down right now. I already have my caption ready for whenever that album drops that I took from it. Doesn't that suck when you know something. It's so great.
Starting point is 00:21:02 And you have to like keep it in? That's you right now. I have to wait. I have to keep the secret. Okay, but I have another shout out too. I was at the beach on Saturday. I was at the beach on Saturday. And it was the first time the boys really went to the beach.
Starting point is 00:21:16 Yeah, they're four and five. Granted, they're like COVID babies, so they kind of stay in a lot. But also, Jorge hates the water. He don't swim. He don't like pools. He don't like anything. Like lakes, nothing. And it upsets me because water is me.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Like, I feel like, I, like Angie, the water makes me feel like, like at peace. Yeah, very calming. And it was funny because our friend, Laura, it's her baby shower. And she didn't write where it was at until like the day of. And it was like, oh, it's at the beach.
Starting point is 00:21:45 And I was like, ha, ha, we're going to be it. Like, this is my time. It's my time. This is for me. This is what I'm going to do. And I went to the beach and then I showed them literally seeing them discover the water
Starting point is 00:21:56 like putting their feet. Like they've only seen the beach on YouTube. They've only seen the beach because Blippy was there or something. Like they don't know the beach having their feet and then like the water come and then horito started doing like a somersaults like they were their water babies. So I had to figure it out because they love the beach. But while I was there and I'm like showing them the beach some girl comes up. She's like oh my gosh letty.
Starting point is 00:22:18 Her name was Katie. She was there with her niece, Mia. And she was like yeah, we love brownback. Like me and my, me and my, I guess her the niece, whoever's dad or it is. I don't think it's her brother. Her brother-in-law. She's like me and my brother-in-law, like, we talk smack, like, we're always picking sides and we're always debating what you guys do. And I was like, that's freaking cool.
Starting point is 00:22:38 That's awesome. Yeah, so shout out to her brother-in-law, Miguel, Katie, and the baby girl Mia. Mia was looking at me like, I don't know, you lady. She was carrying her, and I was just like, I don't want a photo with you. Shout on Miguel and Katie. Yeah, shout on Miguel and Katie. And tell me why no one told me that my dress looked like Laszazzoon. And two, I went.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Look, I bought this dress a long time ago. I bought this dress so, but granted, because Asa Sult's been around for a long time. Yeah. I bought this dress a long freaking time ago and I never got to wear it. And I'm like, oh, my friend's having a boy and there's no theme and it's at the beach. I'm going to wear this blue sundress get up. Yeah. Why are you laughing?
Starting point is 00:23:16 I hate you so much, Jose. That's not so. You really got the Dreamville package. Watch he sends that dress to me. That'd be crazy. So I show up and I promise you not until I take. take a photo, do I'm like, damn, I look like the class azure bottle.
Starting point is 00:23:36 So you were the one that pointed that out yourself. Yeah, I saw it. And then I knew. I already know, I already know Instagram. Yeah. I already know Instagram. There's a photo right now. If you log on.
Starting point is 00:23:46 I'm going to post it. Shout out yazzers. Yeah. Yeah. She's this mean page that remixes a bunch of stuff. Yeah. But I knew when I posted, I'm like, all right, they're going to say it. So I'm like, all right, first person to say it.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Congratulations. And then. And everybody just goes in. I didn't even know they made that. I just want to throw that out there. How does it feel to be memed? Yeah, it was definitely mean. That's why I was one of the first time.
Starting point is 00:24:07 She made me the bottle of Fasa Suu. It was because of my dress. Yeah, we got to repost that brown bag. You just got to take it. You just got to laugh with you. I legit thought I had a cute little dress. It was boy theme. Someone wrote, I thought you were announcing your baby because the boys were wearing blue.
Starting point is 00:24:24 Oh. And I was doing. I was like, no. But I was like, I couldn't tell. Like, she doesn't want, my friend doesn't want. I don't know, she's private. Yeah. So she didn't want us to like show her, but she wants, she wants to be the one that posts her stuff.
Starting point is 00:24:37 So I'm like, all right, I'm going to have a beach photo shoot then. Come on. Say less. All right, well, there was that. Those are my shout-ons to Class Azul. Yeah, class. That's funny as hell. And the beach.
Starting point is 00:24:47 I want to shout out Kimberly. Woo. Why do you say it like that? Kimberly. Why do I just talk? I don't know. I don't know. I met her at the Chick-fil-A-jublis.
Starting point is 00:24:56 And then she was like, are you a par 101-6? I recognize your voice. I was like, yeah. Damn. But she didn't give me a discount or anything. Oh, that's the word. She doesn't like your voice. Chick-fil-A sauce.
Starting point is 00:25:10 Oh, right. So she works at Chick-fil-A? She works at Chick-fil-A? Awesome. And she said nice to you. She said she was nice to you. Yes. Cool.
Starting point is 00:25:17 Yeah, but you didn't get anything for free. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. She's working. We are not trying to bribe anything. That would be a crime.
Starting point is 00:25:27 Speak for your son. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. Me, who do we have on the shout-ups? Oh, wait, Big, you have a shout-out? Yeah, I have one. Shout out to Isaiah over at the Foot Lock, on Melrose.
Starting point is 00:25:37 All right. He also recognized my voice and didn't give me a discount. Common theme here. Well, we're at it. Welcome to Israel, H&M at the Americana. Because he legit was like, hey, how are the kids, blah, blah, blah. And I was like, ooh, he knows it.
Starting point is 00:25:53 He's like, all right, this will be here. All right, well, see you next time. Yeah, a little 20% off. Yeah, like their employee discount or something. Nothing. No, he was legit like, yeah, you know, like if you ever need work, I'm a graphic designer. He was pushing himself. I'm like, all right.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Let me see those graphics change on the tab. Isaiah was like, man, I got this clothing brand, man. I'm just like, yeah, sure. And I'm just like looking at the Nikes and looking at the price and looking at the Nikes. I'm just like, nothing? Nothing. Yeah, I'll take a shirt. They sat down and be humbled us real quick.
Starting point is 00:26:28 I appreciate it. Irene, we have shout-outs, though, too. Yeah, I'm just going to list these off. So, again, if I forget you, just DME. I know, I know. Giggles, Irene on Instagram. No, no, no, no, no, no. Hey, just let me do my shout-outs.
Starting point is 00:26:43 Joshua from Boyle Heights. Boil Heights, baby. Andy from Huntington Park. Let's go, H.B. Richard from Boyle Heights. Come on, damn. Boyle Heights is everything. I know.
Starting point is 00:26:53 She got all the dicks over there. Richard. Richard. Richard. It's El, It's El, It's El, It's El,
Starting point is 00:27:01 It's El, Oh, wait, Mike Venn, and Victor from Gardina. Woo, Mitokayo. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:27:09 that's right. That's right. Okay, shout out to them. Hey, hit us up, Brownback Mornings 106, DM,
Starting point is 00:27:16 Irene, it's Irene, it's Irene, it's Irene, it's Irene, answers the phone, and Irene answers the phones. If Irene, if Irene sends a screenshot of anything,
Starting point is 00:27:23 it's her. Yeah, those are her tattas, okay? Whoa! Whoa! Hello. Word on Rosecrans.
Starting point is 00:27:32 Word on Rosecrans. The Twitter app is now becoming the X app. What's going on? Which is fitting because I've met most of my exes on the Twitter app. Right. So anyway, Elon Musk tweeted that he will be getting rid of the bird logo and adding the X logo at some point this week. X? Just the X? Yes.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Just the X. And now, like, he's going to have it go to. X.com and then you'll be at Twitter. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. He hates us. He's ruining everything.
Starting point is 00:28:02 He is, dude. He's literally ruined everything. He really knows how to destroy a company. Twitter was such a great ad. It is a great ad. Like you tweet, now we're going to be Xing? Yeah. No, it's called skeeting.
Starting point is 00:28:14 That sounds so dumb. Oh, no. I'm going to have trouble pronouncing that. Yeah. And I thought like yay has that trademark. Yeah. For Skeet Davidson. X, E, E, T, yes.
Starting point is 00:28:25 It's like a ski. You know? No, I think of being engrins. Unfortunately. Everything reminds me in her. Okay, anyway. Oh, wow. Look, Elon just started, like, randomly tweeting, like, oh, like, this is going to be a new day.
Starting point is 00:28:41 We're going to rebrand as X. I know. And then there's an employee at Twitter, well, now X, is named Linda Yaccarino. And she tweeted, X is the future state of unlimited interactivity centered in audio, video, messaging payments slash banking oh gosh i'm bored all this yeah yeah and it's said it's going to be powered by AI and x will connect us all in ways we're just beginning to imagine so then it's not twitter anymore so can someone else make twitter again yeah i mean they made threads yeah so that's like pretty similar yeah if you go right now to sign into twitter the x is the yeah you see like it's
Starting point is 00:29:18 you know what's crazy too is like twitter started off super simple guys just and from the story the origin story I heard, it was meant for people that were overseas that were deployed, like people in the military, to kind of journal, because you know how like when you see Twitter the page is, it's only what you write? Yeah. Yeah. So it was for people to keep tabs of soldiers that they ate, that they slept where they were, stuff like that. And it's kind of like a journal, an online journal where they were at, and then it turned into what became Twitter. But it was so simple, so basic, just conversation and beautifulness. And now AI and synchronosity and. And whatever the big words that leg you just said.
Starting point is 00:29:59 I know. It's just so disappointing. It used to be my favorite app. So what's going to happen to like the OG Twitter accounts? I don't know. No, I mean, they're going to stick around. But it's like it's just going to be something different. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Honestly, when I saw that, I really thought of deleting my Twitter. But I'm like, oh, I've had it for years. Yeah. But now I'm like, I'm leaning towards threat now. Yeah, it's going to be something totally different. I don't like it. Probably the format's going to change. That's like the main thing.
Starting point is 00:30:23 And it's just like, bro, why don't you just build? X. Something on your own. Like, why do you have to ruin our stuff? Because it's like, like, already the built-in audience and all of that. It's like, oh, you're going to lose so much. He had that plan from the beginning. He must have.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Oh, yeah, for sure. And what's crazy is, like, Tesla is booming. Like, we see Tesla's everywhere. He's great at what he's great at. Yeah. But it's like, you can't be the best at everything. And he's killing it with whatever he's doing with Tesla. And, like, he's like the man there.
Starting point is 00:30:53 You know, the, what is it? What are Tesla kind of cars? They're electric. They're like electric vehicles, but it's like he made them pop in. Yeah. Because there were electric cars before them and they were just like on or like weird. But it's like, no, now that he has it, he made it cool, he made it luxury. And it's like, damn, you're messing of Twitter though.
Starting point is 00:31:10 Yeah, you are. You ruin everything. You ruin everything. Yeah, it's annoying. And I feel like it all really started because he used to get like cooked so much on Twitter. And then so he was like, I'm just going to buy you. Yeah, I'm just going to buy you and change your name. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Such a geek. Oh, man. I kind of told Jorgeito to be like that. I gave him advice. And I'm like, damn, did I'm just making Elon Musk? No! He was telling me that he feels bad when, like, kids make fun of him. And I was like, it's okay, babe, just say, oh, yeah, I'd be mad too if I wasn't as rich as me or something.
Starting point is 00:31:43 I told him something like that. Like, make fun of them back, babe. Don't let, if they're joking, joke back. Yeah. Believe that. You're just mad because I'm smarter than you. And kidder than you. And richer than you.
Starting point is 00:31:53 But I was like trying to feel. his confidence. Yeah. But now he's like, I'm just going to buy you. I'm going to buy you, bro. I will buy your life in this school. I mean, he's got to be. I just don't know if I just created a little musk over here.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Sounds like it. Damn. You just might have. Okay. All right. A sap Rocky brags about robbing something from a rapper during his Rolling Loud set. Why are they incriminating themselves still? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:32:19 Look, Rocky headline Rolling Loud Miami Day 3 over the weekend. He premiered some songs off his new album titled, Don't Be Dumb. And one of the songs, he threw some shade at one rapper. Listen to this. So he said, you stole my flow, so I stole your B. You stole my style. I need at least 10%.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Yeah. Who? Who is he talking about? No, some people were thinking it was Drake. Yeah, because Drake was with Rihanna. That makes sense. That isn't cool to call her his. I was going to say that.
Starting point is 00:33:01 No, not at all. But Drake is known for like taking people's flows and like re-er using them, borrowing them. Yeah, and I don't think they have a great relationship, but I don't think he was talking about Drake. Who did he is over? I think he was talking about Travis Scott. What? Yeah. Because at the beginning of Travis Scott's career, he was compared a lot to A-Sap Rocky.
Starting point is 00:33:19 Not so much musically, but stylistically. The braids, to just. His whole swag, the way he dressed, you know what I'm saying? And he was with Rihanna early on as well. Shut up. Travis Scott was in Rio. Yes. When?
Starting point is 00:33:32 You guys remember the... I don't remember this. The Better Have My Money? Uh-huh. That era of Rihanna? Yeah. That's when they were together. What?
Starting point is 00:33:39 Yeah. Are you tripping? Yes. Look it up on the internet. It's crazy because I... This is a shocker. That is a shocker to me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:47 But he was probably just super low-key. He was... No, he wasn't really famous at that time. He was just... Travis was look kind of famous. I mean, not as well. Not like now. Yeah, not like now for sure.
Starting point is 00:33:55 That was when he was opening up for Young Thug. Yes, that era. Yeah. Days before. Rihanna has a type. Definitely. It's funny because I don't feel like it's legit unless either Chris Brown or Drake fights with your man. Like that's how I know that's Rihanna is in a relationship.
Starting point is 00:34:12 Either Chris Brown or Drake beefs with them. I hate this guy. Yeah, but no, damn, that's crazy. You're right. And it's also because, so Travis, headline day two. And he premiered his new album, Utopia. Oh, wow. And then now Rocky, headline day three, closed out the whole festival,
Starting point is 00:34:32 and he had those words to share. Yeah. I love it. This is drama. It is. But I don't know. I still feel like Travis wins because Travis, on his own is like, like, I want to say self-made, but it's like the, we know him for who he is.
Starting point is 00:34:49 Right. Rocky, we know him for what he's done in the past and for now who he, his baby mom, is. Yeah. Like, we know, like, the bangers that he had
Starting point is 00:34:56 in the past, right? Travis is consistent with bangers and, like, for himself, right? Branding, I guess,
Starting point is 00:35:02 branding and everything. He's been a lot more active. It would be like if we only knew Travis right now for being Kylie's baby daddy. We don't. Yeah. Whereas with Rocky,
Starting point is 00:35:11 yeah. I don't know, but then you call her your B. I don't like that part. Well, I mean, it's just like, it's part of the energy.
Starting point is 00:35:16 It's just like, you know, he has for permission. I hope so. Yeah. And it's like, It wouldn't be as fun if he's just like, first you stole my flow, then I stole your girl. Like it's just, it's just, it's rap.
Starting point is 00:35:26 Yeah. You're baddy. You got to be aggressive with it. Yeah. So. I don't like it. I mean maddy, Ken. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:33 You'll be big Ken right now. It's a man's world. All right. All right, guys, that was your word on Rosecrans brought to you by local Southern California Toyota dealers. I'm Rose Kranzvik for Brownback Mornings. I'm Power 106. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:44 What's up? Just be real from Cypress Hill. Do you guys want to say it or do you want to say it? What happened? Real quick. Sci-fi. The quicker effort. Upher.
Starting point is 00:35:54 I feel like I almost said the word. You guys just come in the upper part, okay? Oh, the quicker effort. Upper. Sci-fi. Okay, before I was cut off by a man. Wow. The best world.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Do you think Travis Scott is going to retaliate or say something bad? Because he low-key can't because he does have Kylie as a baby mama. Yeah. And I don't know how their relationship is. I know they might be off right now. Yeah. But it's like, what are you going to say? Like.
Starting point is 00:36:26 Yeah, I don't think he can't. Will there be like a back and forth? Hold on. Wait, didn't ASAP date Kendall? Or am I just making that up? I don't know. I know they were like all home ways.
Starting point is 00:36:35 Yeah. That can make things more interesting. Sister-in-law vibes? Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. Okay, just saying that. Let's go ahead and give away these tickets because it's your power hour.
Starting point is 00:36:45 Yeah. All right. We have tickets to see Doja Cat. Starting point is 00:37:14 any scholarship no any scholarship award oh yeah i have no what What? For what? For the grade? I got a scholarship for music. Like, I can go and play any instrument I wanted for free. Where? What?
Starting point is 00:37:27 But my parents never took me because they're like, no, it's too far. We're tired from work. Oh, I'm so sorry. Okay, did you, how did you qualify? I have no idea. School gave it to me. Man, Angie could have been the next. Was it a scholarship or a coupon?
Starting point is 00:37:42 A accordion player. No, a scholarship. And I remember at that time because of Lissa-Simimim, I wanted to play the saxophone. And I told them, like, come on, please. They're like, no, no, we don't have a license. I'm like, that's never stopped you from driving. Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 00:38:00 And you just snitched out your parents at the same time. All right. Back in the day, they didn't have a license. I feel like scholarships you have to earn, like you have to submit or like your entries. Well, probably in my teacher. Sometimes people nominate you. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:11 Sometimes people nominate you. Well, is Angie the only scholarship award winner? Whether she claimed it or not, that doesn't matter. She won it. Yeah. Yeah, I don't think I got anything. And he's better than us? Angie's better than us.
Starting point is 00:38:22 Angie's better than us. And he's why you don't know you that you're better than us. Thank you. You're like this teenager that we got to big up. Carla Torres. She recently graduated from Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School in Boyle Heights. I'm telling you, Boisheye Heights. It's everything.
Starting point is 00:38:35 She just won $10,000 after making like a Marie Antoinette style prom dress completely out of duct tape. Okay. This was for the 23rd annual Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest. It was sponsored by Duck Tate. And I'm just looking at this like wow I wish I knew about these types of freaking scholarships, right? So they was sponsored by duct tape. They had to create a prom dress and she hers look bomb like it's going viral this dress. It's like white and pink, but it looks super like back in the day.
Starting point is 00:39:03 And it was like how could you make that from tape? Yeah. Which is crazy. Some people are so creative. I know. It definitely makes me feel like the best I've done DIY is my balloon garland. And that's my guard actually. And I feel very accomplished when I do it.
Starting point is 00:39:17 It takes me five hours. but I'll do it, right? Yeah. But imagine a whole dress. Wow. Yeah, that's crazy. Like, the best I've ever done was I used to do balloon animals. You could do balloon animals?
Starting point is 00:39:28 Yeah, but I would do like the basic ones. What that? Like a dog or what? How do you? You know how to do a sword? Did you work at a circus or rodeo or something? In fifth grade, at one of the book fairs, they had a book that showed you how to make balloon animals. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Young hustler, I was like, I'm a Saudis. Wow, I like. It's a play. It's a play. Mom, buy me this for $5. I'll make it back and then some. Come on. That's super cool.
Starting point is 00:39:55 Wait, so today, if I were to give you like the little pumper and I was to give you the balloons, you would be able to make something. You know how many parties I have that I freaking hire people to do this and you could just volunteer as deal. Maybe, yes. Bro, a sword? Those are my favorite. Before I used to know how to make parrots and all the type of crazy things.
Starting point is 00:40:14 All right, check this out. Maximo gets the most hit up being outside in these streets, okay? Hit him up with a balloon, all right? If you see Maximo, he will make you a flower, he will make you a crowd, he will make you a dinosaur, he'll make you a dog. Kids, look for this guy's voice. If you hear his voice, he has a pocket full of balloons, okay? We promise it's not weird.
Starting point is 00:40:36 Oh my God. Go on, Maximo, lean into it, bro. Yeah. I don't want kids walking up to me. With their parents. With their parents. Can you make me a hello kitty balloon? Possibly.
Starting point is 00:40:47 Wow. I got to like refresh my memory. You're like, hey mister. I want a dog. That's crazy. Like, hold on. You can do it. You got it.
Starting point is 00:40:56 I know. Whoa. Hey, theater of the mind. Did that not sound like I was blowing again? I had to look over. Wow. I know they're thinking differently. They're so gross and annoying.
Starting point is 00:41:09 Maximo, make a draft. Why can't we all be in Barbie World right now? Okay. But shout out to baby girl. Carletorius for doing that. I could never. The only thing I've ever done was, like, I accidentally got bleach on one of my shirts one time. And then I was like, I might as well just make it like bleach vibe shirt.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Yeah. Yeah. So I just started, like, spraying it with like a bottle of bleach and like mixing it around. And it came out pretty cool. That's super cool. I always wanted to do like tie-dye. Yeah. Like I always, I see how tie-dye looks so cool.
Starting point is 00:41:40 And I'm like, knowing me, it would just be really like, it would just, shut up. We got to do it together. Yeah. You can do tie-day? It's easy. Really? What I can do over here? I've never done it either.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Coming soon. Brow back Morty's tie-dye shirts for sale. Yes. Hey, that's a good idea. Yeah. That's a good idea. Hand-made. And you get a free balloon animal with every person.
Starting point is 00:42:00 I love it. Key videos by when I was saying. All right, check this out, homie. You need a homie or need some help. We need your help. We need a line. I mean, phone line. We got you for the homie help line.
Starting point is 00:42:15 All right, y'all, we got to help Mario. Mario needs a lot of help. Maximo, what does Mario need help with? So, Mario sends us a DM, and it says, hey, Brown Bag. My name is Mario, and I'm having some issues with my wife, my wife and daughter, so I wanted to ask for some help. My wife comes from a family that's more well-off and loves to throw big parties. Vives. I'm more of a model in the backyard with the fan.
Starting point is 00:42:39 My daughter's kins is coming up, and they want to throw a massive party that is looking like it'll cost me 15 kids. My wife is okay with us getting in debt, but I'd rather save and throw a little backyard boogie. Am I wrong for that? I don't want to look like a bad father. Yeah, you're a bad father. Just getting dead full. Like you've gotten in debt for other reasons.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Why not get in debt for your little princess? It's your girl's kinsenna. You want to be pregnant? No. No. I'm kidding. That might happen anyway. But just so you're going to be dead.
Starting point is 00:43:16 Just so you're pregnant. aware. But then you're going to have the memories and the video and all that stuff. Yeah. Just say, I don't know. The nina, Mujer, come on. That's crazy. Get it together.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Mario. Once you have a daughter and you know, you're going to have a kinsa, you start saving, like, when she's pregnant. You should, day one. Yeah. Not in this economy. Yeah. I guess.
Starting point is 00:43:36 Yeah, it's tricky. Something I do with Vic is that, like, I'll just start giving him choices. I'll be like, okay, do you want this toy or this game? Or do you want to eat tomorrow? Because we can only choose one. You tell him that? Yeah. That's great.
Starting point is 00:43:51 That's life. You're such a liar. I swear. A little big could be like, I don't need to eat. He'll say stuff like that. Tomorrow? I don't know. Maybe I won't want to eat tomorrow, but I want to play this game today.
Starting point is 00:44:02 Yeah. Yeah, that's him. But you got to give him choices. Okay. So just ask you, you want to go to college? Or do you want to bet? Or do you want a big Kinze? Kinse.
Starting point is 00:44:13 Because that's good. It's going to be Kintze. Yeah. And it seems like she wants it too because in the beginning he said it's it's an issue with him and his wife and his daughter. So I'm assuming wife and daughter tag teaming. Yes. Probably give her the kinsa she never had. 15 racks.
Starting point is 00:44:29 You're right. That's a low end type of kine is. That's a low. Yeah. Because you're thinking I'm thinking hall alone and then the dresses and invitations and like drinks and catering all of that. So but I know that's a lot. It's a lot.
Starting point is 00:44:43 And that's what kintas cost these days. Yeah, just makes me think of me because like Emmy never won at a kince Right? Because we always were like implemented Like we always tell her like Yo, for your birthday Like for your 15 let's just vacation
Starting point is 00:44:56 Wherever you want Oh so you were trying to brainwatcher I was like You know But recently she was like Dad I think I won the kinsengen Yeah She's other people have kinses
Starting point is 00:45:06 And I was like Damn it! Moshimo starts checking his banking app Are you sure Me not? You started putting balloon animals for sale So dumb
Starting point is 00:45:18 Look already you do photo and video So that's gonna take care of a lot of the money He's gonna do it himself I'm not gonna enjoy my own party It's not your party Exactly Get it out of your head You have a lot of plugs Maximo
Starting point is 00:45:32 Yeah I feel Mario No definitely feel it too But then I also think of on the other And so my mom never had a quince I think she came to the US or Malsabado When she was 14 or 15 And granted, that already in itself, you're not here on like, let's party once we get there. You're here on like, let's survive.
Starting point is 00:45:49 Yeah. But she always thinks of, man, I wish I had a kinsa. So much to the point that I believe it was her 50th birthday. I'm not sure which birthday number it was, but we gave her like a little mini kinsa. We got a hall. Oh, that's amazing. Yeah, I went the floor like a Saturday Night Fever because my mom loved Saturday Night Fever. So we got her little light up floor.
Starting point is 00:46:10 But I saw how happy that made her. So even if they forgot. go the kinsa it's something that you always think about you know especially of being so big in our culture you know for sure i wish it was like well you get a car and that's fine that's better than having the kinset i think that is true but then you see what it's it's even less about having a kinsa and more about the experience the memories who's there i think the one of our last kinks is the last time i really saw my awolita like that like you think of the people that come through for the kinsa you know right because it ends up being like a like a like
Starting point is 00:46:43 family from all over ends up flying in. It's really like an intimate thing, right? No, absolutely. Neither of my sisters had a kinse, nor my younger cousin. And I'm just like, damn, I wish they did. Yeah. Because I went to like my- You'd be a hella chambelan.
Starting point is 00:46:58 You know what? Yeah. I went to my tias quences and like they were lit, you know? And my sisters, for whatever reason, it was like a weird time. Like, where I guess they were like not getting along with like my dad or something. Something happened. I can't remember exactly what. And they did, they never had them.
Starting point is 00:47:13 know that like I don't know if it affects them now but in the future that might be like man I never had that when they talk to their friends or even their daughter like my little I was saying to grie or Gia exactly and you know she might not know where to start when it comes kinsa time yeah you know and that that sucks so Mario yeah we feel for you Mario the good thing is that he is saying there it will be a kinsa it's just what type of kinsets should there be exactly yeah right no function big is he messed up for you're not messed up for not wanting to spend that much money but also you got to understand that there has to be something like yeah there's a way there's a way there's a way
Starting point is 00:47:49 like to be like super stingy with your money but at the same time it's like these are the moments that you want to celebrate right there's a way to be creative oh how I mean there's a lot of ways like it's like I know for my my dad has helped a lot of like his friends out where like they brought all the lull riders out and it's like that doesn't cost anything he did that Yeah, he's done that before. Don't get any ideas. I'm getting ideas already.
Starting point is 00:48:14 I'm just kidding. No, yeah. Honestly, like, my dad has done stuff like that and it's like, it doesn't cost him anything. That's crazy that your dad has done that for other people, but he didn't give his daughter. Remind him right now. He's probably on his way to work right now. He's going to have guilt right now. Wow, that's so wild.
Starting point is 00:48:32 Or maybe he does that because he couldn't do that for your time. Maybe this is his over-conversing. He drives a car cried one single tier. Yeah, put them. All right, look We got to help out the homie Yes How about the homie and Mario
Starting point is 00:48:47 Sorry, I have almonds in my mouth It's okay That's funny I'm sorry I'm sorry Lett It came out Every hates me
Starting point is 00:48:59 No Lettie just looked at Irene How Irene How Irene looks at Lettie No I feel like we're out that lover We could joke with each other Right
Starting point is 00:49:06 Yes Is it right? Are you ready for these jokes No How ready are you for these jokes? How ready are you for these jokes? I'm just kidding. Please don't make me jump out this A-Scar.
Starting point is 00:49:15 No, no. Let's help out, Mario, okay? His daughter wants a kinsa, his wife, he's like, look, we got to get into debt for this. $15,000 is nothing. And he's like, I just kind of want backyard thing. Maybe we've got a speaker. Maybe we have some lights, some chairs that kids could sleep on, you know, because it gets late and people get tired. All right, check this out, homie.
Starting point is 00:49:38 You need a homie or need some. We need your help. We need a line. I mean, phone line. We've got you for the homie help line. Yeah, we need your help because Angie's help is going to land us in jail. There's no help at all. No, you can't.
Starting point is 00:49:54 I think it's a great idea. No, it's not Angie. I think it's the worst idea if you've ever had in your life. It really makes sense in my head, but okay. Lying cheating and stealing is Angie's idea, basically. But we're trying to help the homie Mario. He has a kinteching to coming up for his daughter. His wife comes from like the family, like the big bank parties.
Starting point is 00:50:13 Damn. I went to one of those parties one time, like that like this family, they was way out. They lived super out in the IE. I was like, how could they afford it? But it's like they don't have crazy housing expenses. But they had the horses that dance at a party. And it was like for a two-year-old. And I'm like, dude, you guys have the horses that dance?
Starting point is 00:50:33 Wow. I was like, this can't be me. This is so much. They had like, even having a group there to me is crazier than having Mariachi. because I feel like I know Maraci they come in for an hour but groupos like legit They lay for like six hours
Starting point is 00:50:45 Yeah They had the group and the dancing horses dog And I was like wow For a two year old Definitely not gonna remember that But I did and I was like There's always that family that shows you You still got work to do
Starting point is 00:50:57 Yeah, that was that family But basically his wife comes from that Like big big Just great big parties He's more backyard buggy He's more like hey let's get together Pull some chairs put the speaker out boom vibes happy birthday son yeah yeah look we got maxima do um balloon animals yeah the kid gets
Starting point is 00:51:20 a piara we get our modelos it's all good all right but he's saying his daughter is about to turn 15 and 15 thousand dollars is how much it could end up costing him he doesn't know which way to go about it all right he wants to stay humble his wife wants to go big bang okay um we're getting help ireen who should we go to for the advice um we have Valerie from Pomona. All right. Valerie from pizza, Winoglias.
Starting point is 00:51:45 Good morning, Brownberg. Good morning, Valerie. Happy Monday, happy Monday. Happy Monday. Happy Monday. Talk to us.
Starting point is 00:51:52 What would you tell Mario? You should have had a boy. Oh. That's what you said. That's what you said. Hold on. Put her out hold real quick. Let me speak.
Starting point is 00:52:07 Love me to all the girls out there. That's correct. You are smart You are just as good You are able all of that She hasn't seen Barbie No she hasn't That was crazy
Starting point is 00:52:18 She should have been I mean Hey no when I When I talked to her She didn't say that Like I All right Val All right Val
Starting point is 00:52:26 Besides the truth of all truth Oh yeah It's still hurt It's still hurt I have three girls I have three girls So my pockets are already My advice
Starting point is 00:52:40 to Mario is that he should get Padrinos. Yeah. He knows his family is going to throw like that big, like they always throw like big bangers. Right. To pitch in and do their part. You know, some people have, some people have crazy pride.
Starting point is 00:52:58 I know Irene was telling us all fair that her parents are just more like, we don't want to ask, you know? Yeah, when I turned 15, we had just moved from San Diego to the I.E. and so I had a 16 and my parents were like, yeah, let's wait a year because we just bought a house, we just bought furniture,
Starting point is 00:53:15 none, nah, and then when my 16 came around, I was just like, well, why don't we just get Padrinos? So that the load doesn't have to be on all y'all. The pillow, of the napkin. Yeah, my parents have been Padrinos for everything, the forks, the spoons, like, you know? And my parents were just like, you know, you know what? If that's cool that we were Padrinos,
Starting point is 00:53:34 but like, let's just do it all ourselves. Wow, that's crazy what Pride will do. Yeah. Yeah, Val, did you have you, since you have three daughters, are you good, did you do that or have you done that? No, my oldest is 10 years old, so we're actually already saving up. You know, we're saving up already because we have five years to prepare all this. Yeah. So, yeah, I mean, we knew we were going to have two things in the moment I found out we're having girls.
Starting point is 00:53:59 It's no surprise to me. Yeah. I know when they're turning 17, so that means I got to start managing my money and preparing. and that hurt fascinate and make it feel like, oh, I can't do this anymore. Let's do it around the other. What are the names of your daughters? I have Allison, Samantha, and Rebecca.
Starting point is 00:54:18 All right, Allison, Samantha, Rebecca, your mom wishes you were boys. I just hope you know that. I don't know. She threw that out there, so you guys better be acting right, all right? Jesus, Valerie. Valerie, are you, are you, do you have any people in mind
Starting point is 00:54:35 to be there? your padrinos and like how are you like building relationships with them? So yeah, it's actually everything who would be like my brother-in-law and my, you know, my husband's aunt. They got money? Yeah. They got money? Yeah. Ooh, all right.
Starting point is 00:54:55 I told them, you know, they want big parties too. So you got a baby. Yeah, you see. Yeah. And you told them with time. Exactly. I told them it has to be, you know, go big or go home. Damn.
Starting point is 00:55:12 What's go big? Because legit, the one you start off with, you just got to keep getting better and better. Like if your daughter's 10, the younger ones, they're going to want more and more. Yep. Exactly. They're really going to come out in a limbo. Yeah. It's like the exotics right now.
Starting point is 00:55:29 We wanted a, we wanted a Hummer limo. Yeah. They want a whole. Oh, yeah. They want a big. They want a whole exotic. Yeah. Rolls Roy's.
Starting point is 00:55:35 No, my parents couldn't afford a limo. So for me, so my parents made me one to in front of the limo and take pictures of the front of my. Oh, no, that's cute. You! So cute. Very creative. I just want to hug in say you.
Starting point is 00:55:56 I just want to hug him say you. But hey, no one can tell. No one knows. No one knows. Yeah. Now we know. You know. Only on camera.
Starting point is 00:56:06 Yeah. It's okay. They're rented. Anyway, they're rented anyway. Yeah, and mom, I didn't think like, yeah, you did. That other kinsenero was like, what? Yeah, what are these people doing in front of my limo? All right, baby girl.
Starting point is 00:56:22 Thank you so much for your advice. And shout out to your daughters. For real. That you wish for sons. It's crazy. One of my thios. Good boys. Irene, who else we got in the line that wants to give Mario his advice for his kinset
Starting point is 00:56:37 predicament, his kinsera predicament? And we have Alex from Chatsworth online too. All right, Alex. All right, Chatsworth. Hey, good morning, everyone. What's up? How are you, Alex? Well, I like the comments, and I would like to say that I do agree with the whole memories thing.
Starting point is 00:56:56 You know, what you're going to build, you can't put a price on that. So whether it's going to be $15,000 or more, you know, once time goes by, I think there's always going to be a regret of not having that. Once you create those memories, you can't put a price on it. What I wanted to suggest is that I feel that, you know, in cases like this, and I'm being transparent here, you know, the public usually assumes that, you know, people that are in your field or people are on the radio or TV, you know, that they don't hear or they don't have hurdles like this and struggles. You know what I mean? Yeah. And people always assume, like, oh, they must make so much money. Right.
Starting point is 00:57:38 And they this and that. And I think that's just a, exactly, right? So it's a misconception. And I think, you know, I always try to say that, that us as Latinos, Hispanics, Chicano, however you want to call it, that we need to do a better job in uniting, you know what I mean, and just helping each other out, you know. The way I see it is, you know, I wouldn't, from you guys, I wouldn't be, I wouldn't be a shame of creating a GoFundMe account.
Starting point is 00:58:06 And I guarantee you that some of the list. that probably agree with what I'm saying. Right. It wouldn't be reluctant in giving a dollar. I mean, if there's a thousand listeners now or, you know, some people might want to give $5 or $10. How much are you giving? How much are you giving, Doc? Talk to me.
Starting point is 00:58:24 I would be willing to give $50. You know what? Wow. What is your phone number? I'm going to send you my cash app right now. Hold on. See, this is what happens. What?
Starting point is 00:58:35 Just in case I have a daughter. They all get it. Oh. You did a GoFundMe for them. I want to go for me too. Yeah, me too. Life is crazy. I can have a daughter nine months from now.
Starting point is 00:58:43 Who knows? That's crazy because I had a Quinceana and you were not donating. Wait, have you been Padrino to anybody? Have you pitched in that way? Because I think that's what essentially was the first GoFund me. The Padrinos of the Quincee. Have you been that in someone's party? You know, I think I have.
Starting point is 00:59:00 You know, I've contributed for other parties. I can't remember a specific reason or a specific occasion. But yeah, I think that's. also a good a good way of doing it. I think, uh, you know, it's part of our culture as well. Yeah. You know, the reality is that, you know, that also puts family in, in those situations where, you know, sometimes you're struggling to make up the rent. And once they call you out as a paderino, you also feel obligated to be like, oh man, like, we're going to have to do this.
Starting point is 00:59:27 You know what I mean? So I think, I think the dollar, two dollar idea, I think it'll work. And people would be able to, you know, donate to an account to a go fund me or Zelle or, However, and the reality is that we're doing this for the quinceaniera. You know, nothing against Mario, right? But, you know, we're doing it for her. And we're doing it so that she could have a memorable party and celebration with her family and friends. I love that idea. I love that idea.
Starting point is 00:59:53 Mario, if you won't go into debt over your daughter, we will. Boom. That's right. How about that? Look, we're taking your calls. We're helping our guy Mario out. He has a baby girl. She's about to turn 15.
Starting point is 01:00:06 Wifee wants to go into debt. He doesn't want to. to he wants a backyard buggy who are we going to irene who's on the line that can give our guy some advice we have estrea online for from east lane oh east los verion hi star hi good morning good morning i love your name oh thank you give it to me i'm kidding all right estuarya talk to us what would you tell mario i say maria no se ta caño just go in debt Going dead, man. I was planning to do my daughter, Cinanera, and COVID killed it for me.
Starting point is 01:00:44 Oh, damn. It was a pandemic hit, and now when we attend Kinseñeras with my daughter, she'll throw it in my face. Damn. She throws COVID in your face? Damn. No, no, the fact that I didn't do it for her, you know? She'll be like, it's a dance that I never danced, and it's a dress they never were. What do you respond to her with?
Starting point is 01:01:12 I'd be like, you know it was out of my hands. I don't control COVID, yeah. It was a global pandemic, Missy. Nah, but even up to her, you created it. So you wouldn't have to do the Kinze. Okay, hold on, Estreya. So when would be her Kinze? It would have been in 2020?
Starting point is 01:01:30 Correct. Oh, man. So what about next, or you could have done it, then it wouldn't be a Kinzee? But then it was still, They were still like saying, oh, okay, so then, what about 20, 23? She's 17 at that point.
Starting point is 01:01:43 She's probably like 18 now. Exactly. Throw her an 18 party. You should have it. Nah, no, Estreya, you have the money full. You're not going to get out of it. Estreya, I'm on your side. No, I'm not.
Starting point is 01:01:52 Hold on. They're listeners like, all right. He is fighting. They could tune into other radio stations for me to them. But I feel for her daughter. But I feel for her daughter. All right. But her daughter's making her feel better.
Starting point is 01:02:03 You're just adding to it. She already feels bad. Estreya. I sound just like her daughter. She'll literally be like the dress I never wore? Wow. Gildripping.
Starting point is 01:02:11 Estreya? Yeah, she's always throwing it in my face. What's her name? Kelsey. Kelsey. Dang. Kelsey. Anytime we go by a park and she sees the people taking
Starting point is 01:02:23 taking the photos. Oh, my heart. Are you planning on doing anything? Are you just like, hey, COVID happened? Yeah, I plan to do a all-pink party now, like, for her. It's been asking you now for, like, her. next birthday party to do an all pink party.
Starting point is 01:02:40 Yeah, do it because then anything pink, all the pink I never had. He's going to throw in your face after. Estreya, you're better than me because I would be like, you're 18, you're a grown woman, get your own party. Wow. That's what I'm saying. You're an adult now.
Starting point is 01:02:54 Yeah, you're an adult now. It's a real life. It's a real world. This is what happens. Man, poor baby girl. Simp or PIM. All right, who is it today? All right.
Starting point is 01:03:05 So, uh, there's this guy named Did he? I don't know if you guys have heard of him. Do you go by love now? Yeah, I think so. He's your friend, right? Yeah, that's the homie. We took shots together.
Starting point is 01:03:14 Shots together. So he was at the club with his supposed girl, young Miami, and she was playing her new single, and he was acting like, it was the greatest song. Record of all time. Made in the entire world. I really hate you guys. A supportive king. We're not going to clown a supportive king.
Starting point is 01:03:35 We're not. So he's doing this thing. He's, he is so into the song. Like I said, like I said, like it's just, ooh. It's his favorite song. He's looking at her in the eyes. He's doing the ditty dance. Eye contact.
Starting point is 01:03:46 He's so in love. He is so in love. And a lot of the comments are saying, oh, this dude is simping so hard over young Miami, you know. But, you know, I want to see what you guys think. Okay. Let's put the video up on Brownback Morning one of those things because Vic likes to do stuff that's visual. Yes. It's pretty funny, though, because he literally is like dancing around her.
Starting point is 01:04:05 He's like, Like, you know, like they always have that reference where it's like dancing all up in the video. Yes. And he's just dancing around her. He's doing all that. It's pretty funny. And she, and to me it's like, damn, bro, you really simping. Maximo thinks so.
Starting point is 01:04:21 He thinks it's simping. I actually think it's pretty pimp. You think it's pimp. This is something I would do. Yeah. Okay. Is it pimp because you would do it or is it simp because you would do it? Because you do a lot of simp things.
Starting point is 01:04:33 Hey, hey, hey, I'm the P. All right? No. You don't even believe you when you do that. I'm peamping. I'm peepin. Why does your voice change? No, is this just funny because I saw this and Maximum's like, look at this simple.
Starting point is 01:04:48 I'm like, I would totally do this. You got a thing too, it's like this is not, take him being her man out of it. This is Diddy. Like the history that he has in the game, the hits that he's called, all of that. Like he is able to hear a song and be like, that's going to be great. That's going to be number one. And it can be number one. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:07 So he's giving that to her. So to her, she's number one. She's going platinum. She's getting a world tour. Yes. Like all of that, right? She thinks. I think, exactly.
Starting point is 01:05:17 Because then what happens when it doesn't happen? Abe, but you hype me up for nothing? Because it'll turn into a fight. It'll turn in from you being supportive. Yeah. So why'd you play me like that? Why'd you lie? Why did you lie?
Starting point is 01:05:28 I thought this was the best song of all time you said. Wow, I have a yes man around me. I don't need that. I need you to tell me for the real what it is. It is. Unless it's a really good song. Is it the Ag bad song? Yes, it is. Okay, it's their song together.
Starting point is 01:05:40 Yes. So that makes so much sense. Ag bad, I saw and then she was like, ooh, I'm bad. Yeah. It low key, to be honest, to be honest, it low key felt like she was trying to hype him up. Oh, other way around? Like, she was like, oh, this song sucks so bad. And he's like, oh, yeah, this is the renex.
Starting point is 01:05:58 He was doing that dad. She was like, yeah, sure. She's wanted a tour. But look, take it a step further, the reason why they probably. If you look good, act, when she's rolling her eyes while she's rapping along with you, I don't know, honey, she's doing it for you. Yeah, but like the reason they even have the song, like, that's suspicious in the first place. What do you mean?
Starting point is 01:06:18 It's because they're a great artist that collaborate. They've been better on other songs, okay? That's all I'm going to say. And they collaborate in different ways. Oh, my God. But more power to ditty because this is my game. This is my bag all day right here. I've been caught on video doing the exact same thing.
Starting point is 01:06:34 Rap singing to a girl That's not even your girl Yes But hyping her up It worked out great It's funny because it has to be Duet songs It has to be a song where there's a girl part
Starting point is 01:06:46 And there's a guy part So this act bad it has her part And his part He was singing my boo to a girl That wasn't his boo. But when we were younger You were mine And she knows the words
Starting point is 01:06:59 But there Vick is And his orange little vests lifestyle thing. Trying to save that. There's no saving them sometimes, Vic. You will always
Starting point is 01:07:09 be my boo. Yeah, she wasn't here. It's not always. And I don't know that you should be saying that you sing to girls if you haven't sang to your girl. I think I'm...
Starting point is 01:07:20 I don't know. Sounds like you haven't. Well, I need to start singing before I get in trouble. Yes, you need to be like, you ain't ever sing to me. Oh, that's the words.
Starting point is 01:07:31 Yeah. I was like, remember what we did? It's like, we never, oh. We're a rock girl. Yay. Wow. You just try yourself in trouble for. No, I'm just saying that's happened in the past.
Starting point is 01:07:41 Oh, that's not happening. You meant. Yeah. So, sure, sure. That actually happened yesterday to me. What do you mean? So I took the voice to the movie theater and then we're going to meet up with Jorge to go eat tacos after.
Starting point is 01:07:55 And I was like, what tacos are you going to? And he's like, Tacos El Pelone or whatever, Los Pelones or something. And he's like, and he's like, and he's LA. And then so I'm like, okay, I pick him up And I'm like, where do I go? And he's like, we go there all the time. Like, I was like, I've never been to Tacos Los Pelones. And he's like, yeah, the one that's right there on Whittier.
Starting point is 01:08:14 And I was like, that is Don Cucco. And he's like, oh, yeah, oh, yeah. I don't know what I was like, who the tachos los freaking pelones and who have you been there with? Oh, real. Supposedly it was something with streetwise because there's like Westware on Whittier or whatever. And they're like, they all used to.
Starting point is 01:08:31 cater from Los Pelones. I've never been to Los Pelones. I've never heard of that place. Yeah. Did he tell like an extra long story? Oh, you know him already. I'm no, I'm just, it's not even that. It's just like, oh, okay, okay. That's usually like the way I get out. I'm just like, no, it's because, you know, one time that food chewy. Oh my God. Don't even know. No, he's like, oh no, tacos Los Polones. That's who used to cater when streetwise used to do events, Westware. I'm wittier. Yeah. I was like, all right, let me look up tacos Los Palones real quick. And then let me also see where your ex used to live. They don't even catered. Yeah. For the record, all taco people cater. But yeah, that's what happened.
Starting point is 01:09:07 Anyway, how did this go from that to that? I don't know. Oh, you're singing. You got to sing. You got to be full on. If singing is your strategy, let it be your M.O. with everybody. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:15 Because the one you don't do it to is going to be the one that you wish, that wishes you did it to, okay? Yeah. So, I think it was pretty pimp of him. Okay. I don't think so. I think it's super Sam. I think it's Sim. And I think she did it for charity.
Starting point is 01:09:27 Oh, you can tip on her part. You just need to watch it. Angie, you need to watch the video. Brownback Morning's 106. It literally looks like she's like, okay, here's my duty. Like, it's one of her duties that she has to, her requirement. Make him feel young again? Yes, to make him feel young.
Starting point is 01:09:44 Yeah, he's going to make Unk feel young again. She's like, oh, yeah. And he needs to make sure them credit cards still work. Lord. But shout out them. Great song. I love you. I can't wait for it.
Starting point is 01:09:56 Acting so bad. Yeah. You look good, act bad. She's like, okay. What? Say something. Let's get into telling you me I'm not. Okay. What's up?
Starting point is 01:10:07 This is Be Real from Cypress Hill. Where are you from, I said. We didn't decide if he was to grab in. I was a sim. He overruled Vick. Yeah, you guys all, uh,
Starting point is 01:10:18 yeah, trounced me. Oh, yeah, because Pimp's own, pimp's, vix only qualifier for it being Pimp is like he does it.
Starting point is 01:10:25 And I'm a pimp. No, you're not. All right. All right. All right. Sorry. All right. All right. Now, Sim. My granddaddy was a pandemic.
Starting point is 01:10:34 Sam. Sam. Sam. Sam. Sam. Sam. Sam. Your dad for sure. This is being from Cypress Hill. Where are you from, Esse? Don't you know I'm local? Good morning. You guys. It's going to be really hot. Just so you guys know. Have you ever been pulled over and wondered like, how do they know? Oh, yeah. How they catch me? You have. You're speeding and then you're like, wait, where'd they come from? 100%. Okay. So apparently, uh, aircrafts are helping the CHP.
Starting point is 01:11:01 Pull you over. Have you ever seen the sign? And I've never seen the sign. Yeah. That supposedly there's signs that say speed monitored by speed enforced by aircrafts. Yeah. I never seen. Anybody?
Starting point is 01:11:12 Yeah. All the time. I don't know where. But you see, I've never seen that sign. I was actually reading up on this. I guess they were doing an investigation about those signs. Like do they even exist? Is it even a real thing?
Starting point is 01:11:24 And CHP California Highway Patrol was like, yes. We actually have aircraft that they have someone that's essentially up there kind of with like the little meter and they'll let the police on the ground know the CHP on the know the CHP on the ground know the CHP on the ground know what lane you're in what color make and model so they wow so even because you know how we think we're smart
Starting point is 01:11:45 we see the the cop and we slow down or maybe our ways tells us that there's a police officer on the way don't say that you don't incriminate yourself and so you slow down but they still catch you it's because the freaking aircast that pull out I thought because I see the signs but I'm like, I check it. I'm like, there's no airplay. And I keep speeding. No, you don't. We are great citizens. Is this legal?
Starting point is 01:12:10 But I'm not lying. This is ridiculous that we're paying for our own tickets. Like, this is where our tax dollars are going. What did Tupac say? We got money for war, but can't help the poor. Like, come on, man. We've got money for aircrafts to be monitoring our speed. Yeah. Yeah. That's what's why. And I think it's been around for years, decades. And so previously it was like, wow, what crazy technology that the aircrafts. are like figuring this stuff out and now it's kind of like you said why would we spend that type of money it feels exorbitant it doesn't feel like necessary but also they catch people so to them it works out
Starting point is 01:12:42 to them it's like well we catch you fools so it's totally like I've been lucky then you can just use the eye test like yo that car's going way too fast yeah that's how cops used to do it all cars are going really fast on the freeway yeah but you know when one is going faster yeah true true what's wild to me is I they know exactly the lane you're in they're like hey so you think you just think you're cool you think you can slow down and you're good like you know I pulled you over it no no what happened listening to a podcast and just driving you work and when I get pulled over I'm the biggest niche on myself really it works every time I've done it's works excuse sir do you know do you know what I put you over I was going 85 and 65 yes that's exactly yeah and my licenses is suspended and I got
Starting point is 01:13:21 no insurance and it's like well you're really honest there buddy you know what if I can give you a ticket for like being honest I'll just give you a warning then man I've never had anybody be so honest that's happening you have a good date sir yeah it's also because of color your skin don't lie yeah oh oh that you think that's what it is it is and you probably tell him that you work here I do do that I knew it hilarious hilarious yeah you give your ideas like that's my government name but I'm also known as Rose Kranzivik on Power 106 I'll give you shout out you guys like hip up you ever heard Power 106 oh my gosh all right well just so you know while you're speeding out
Starting point is 01:13:58 there stop look up wait don't look up You'll be distracted driving. Go to the speed limits. Just know that they're watching. Dang, I thought I could get away with it. And let the drone stuff happen. Let the drone stuff happen. That's so much easier.
Starting point is 01:14:10 That's so much easier than the, than having an aircraft. You think fuel, you think all of that. No, I can't do that. Yes, they can. They can and they will. Little bit falls. Yes. So stop speeding.
Starting point is 01:14:21 It does fall in my cars. I can sit here. Then we'll call up sweet James for that, all right? We'll figure it out. We'll figure it out. Part 106 Brown Bag mornings. Yeah, baby. Happy Monday.
Starting point is 01:14:31 See my day. Yes. Maximo, you came across the story that really touched you. Yeah, you feel passionate about this. Touched you right in your sense of places, right? Like your wallet. Yeah, like your wallet. Yeah, like your wallet.
Starting point is 01:14:42 Calm down, you guys, dirty minds. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, so there was a video, and when I saw it, I was like, this has happened to me before. The video was a group of friends. They went at dinner. Manajitua. And they were arguing over splitting the bill. Oh my gosh
Starting point is 01:15:02 I'm only paying for what's on the check I'm not splitting the beer started That's crazy You got lamb top You got steak Look at all that Look at all that got What did you come out for
Starting point is 01:15:15 We come together with split the beer My thing is Y'all doing way too much We didn't order out Oh my God I love that video because everybody's just like Running around like Looking at each other
Starting point is 01:15:28 It's chaos You did. It's literally chaos. Yeah. And I feel like this happens a lot. Oh, yeah. It's happened to me before. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:35 I went to a birthday dinner. Yeah. It was a bunch of friends and one of my cousins came. And he was just like, yo, what do you want to drink? What do you want to drink? He was going around the table ordering everyone drinks, buckets of beer. Yeah. He said, I got to go.
Starting point is 01:15:48 He left the 200 and he jetted. Wait, where did you go? It was Bubba gun. Bubba gun. Okay, okay, okay. So then when the bill came, we were all going to split the bill. And we saw that he ran up a tab of 500. So he left 200.
Starting point is 01:16:02 For his own 500. For his own 500. So everyone was like already like, God damn. And Bubba Gump is fairly pricey depending what you order. Yeah. Because it's seafood. And it's touristy. And it's touristy.
Starting point is 01:16:14 So it was a mess. People were pissed. And, you know, I'm one of those people that I don't mind splitting the bill evenly. Yeah. It's okay. I'm like, cool. Let's do it. But this dude, everyone like it just set everybody off.
Starting point is 01:16:27 Everyone was pissed. My brother was pissed. Did you feel scammed? I was just like, the fact that it was my cousin, I was like, oh, so I had to put an extra 100. Oh, yeah. Just to kind of ease the pain,
Starting point is 01:16:40 but I wasn't going to put the full 300. I was like, no, man. Like, I got 100, but. Yeah, those putting in for other people that, like, it hurts more. Yes. Because, you know, like, this could have been mine. I could have spent it on whatever,
Starting point is 01:16:51 but I'm helping the homie. I could have got an extra sushi roll. I could have got extra this place. And I think one of my homies was with me, and he put extra money too. Wow. Just because, like, that's my cousin. So we're just like, God damn.
Starting point is 01:17:01 Well, did you tell your cousin afterwards, like, April, you owe me 300? Yeah. I don't know, because you're the nicest person in the world. We told them, but he was pretty lit, so he didn't care of the moment. So he's not invited to his stuff. Because this is my thing. All right, do me that once, like Jay Cole said, that Bush said. Shame on you.
Starting point is 01:17:22 You fool me twice. You can't get it. You can't get fooled again. that you invited him again? I mean, I've gone out with him again. See, to me it would have been end all. That's it. 500, that extra 300, that's how much it costs to get me out your life, dog.
Starting point is 01:17:39 It's true, that's a way to see. Because there else is going to rack up. Oh, they let me get away with their wants, boom. Yeah. Back again to spend more than I'm going to put in. Split the bill? Or do you guys do like I'll pay for what I bought? No, I think I usually spit.
Starting point is 01:17:55 split the bill, like no matter what it is. Yeah, but I'm also conscious of like, okay, you know, I don't know if everybody else is going to split the bill. Yeah. So I'm going to not like go crazy and not assume that everybody's going to like pay for my half or whatever. You know what I'm saying? And also like it's a thing. It's like like your cousin ordering a bunch of buckets of beer. And it's like he's seeming like he's the man. You're like, oh, this guy must be pitching in. Hella, because he's probably passing the beers out. Hey, bro, drink up. Yeah, for sure. Acting like he's the man. So it's like it just don't have that approach if you're not going to be about it.
Starting point is 01:18:28 You know what I'm saying? I'm telling you, it was such an awkward moment. It's like, you know, and it's the worst when you're sitting there and everyone's looking at the bill. It's like an extra 30 minutes of just awkwardness. And it's like, I hate that. I hate it. It'd be the best dinner ever, but that bill time gets weird. It ruins everything.
Starting point is 01:18:43 That's why I don't go out with people that I don't like, like I know I got you and I know you got me. I'm usually going to put up my money. Like probably everybody in this room, I've gone out to eat with you. and paid for you. Have you done it back? No, but that's neither here nor there. Yes. I just want to put you guys on that.
Starting point is 01:19:02 I'm thinking I'm like, but I'm the type that's like, I took you out on Friday. You took me on Friday? Yes. Where was it Friday or Thursday? Thursday I took you out. Where were you? Why are you triggered?
Starting point is 01:19:15 We went to the marisco spot that you wanted to try. But you didn't need your food. But I did. But I did. Bring up bad memories. On your birthday? That's a really tough day. No, don't even start with it.
Starting point is 01:19:26 What you're not going to do is divide me and Angie's friendship, okay? We've been through hell and back, okay, fool, that's what you're not going to do, okay? Anyone. If Prius probably couldn't get in between us? Yeah, no one else. Club it didn't get between us. Boom, that part. Well, I say that to say, I'm just even like, I'll take care of it.
Starting point is 01:19:43 Yeah. That is very you. Yeah, I'll take care of it. I don't mind. I don't mind that. I don't want that weird vibe. Like I don't want. And then I also know if I can't take care of it, I'm not going.
Starting point is 01:19:52 Yep. If I know that I can't pull out or pull. pull out, pause, pull out my heart, or like, I can't be like, I got it, then I'd rather just go eat by myself. No, yeah, 100%. But there's people, it happens. It happens a lot. It happens a lot.
Starting point is 01:20:05 Especially people are drinking. Yeah, I learned that lesson early because, like, you know, when you, like, at least with me, like, when I've gone out, like, with elders, right? I usually kind of, when I was young, I would assume. Right. He's talking about me, like, devil. No, I'm talking about my parents. I'm just like two years. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:20:18 No, I'm talking about, like, my parents, my Tios, everybody. They're, like, I go out to you with them. and then they always usually will like just be like no i got the bill you know when i was younger but like now that i'm older i've gone out with my dad and then he just looks at me when the bill comes like yeah you're turning your time and i'm like whoa whoa so it's like i used to think he used to pick up the tabs but even then it's like now he's like you want to split this and i'm just like damn all right dad yeah time's have jesus like what is the solution though because i think none of us have that Convo until it happens.
Starting point is 01:20:50 Yeah. You know? Yeah. Have you ever had the one where you all put, you all put your credit cards? Mm-hmm. And then whichever one pulls out, the one that pays it. Oh, no. No.
Starting point is 01:20:59 No. Yeah. It's tough because it might lend on you, but also you might get a free meal. That sounds tough. You don't know how to order. Do I order like conservatively because I think mine might get pulled out or do I like go full out because someone else is going to pay for it? So when you do that, is that said like before the dinner?
Starting point is 01:21:14 Is that, all right, we're doing this credit card thing? Yeah. You have to put it in before. Oh. And then there's also the. one where you don't, whoever looks at their phone first has to pay. We've done that, I've done that in the pod. Oh, but I've seen that the phone thing. Yeah, you put your phones down. Whoever touches their phone first is the one that has to pay for it. I like that one. Yeah. No, with my
Starting point is 01:21:32 friends, it's usually the one that leaves first doesn't have to pay or the one that goes to the bathroom during the time that the bill comes. So Swift doesn't pay. Yes, basically. But I've had other friends where it's like, we'll go, we'll go out to eat wings, nothing crazy. But all of a sudden, the bill comes and like their wings were like 1499 and they got a drink and all the stuff and then they have the audacity to hand me $10. I'm like, bro, this doesn't even cover one of your items. I don't like, and this might be my thing only. I don't like that I'll zell you people.
Starting point is 01:22:04 Oh, I hate that. Because it just feels like I don't see it. Yeah. Because it's like, do you get what I'm saying? Yeah. Like it's a weird thing. It's a weird thing. It's a weird thing for me.
Starting point is 01:22:15 I'd rather a person give their card. Don't involve me in your shirt. shenanigans with your zeal, you know? Because like, hey, pay for me, I'll zeal you and it just feels weird. What if that never comes? What if they forget? That part. And then next year, you're just begging them.
Starting point is 01:22:27 Just like, yo, remember that dinner? So it's just like, whatever. I'll just, I'll just pay for it. Yeah. I don't know. It might just be me. I don't know. It's just a weird thing.
Starting point is 01:22:34 All right, we go to eat. Mm-hmm. We go to Javier. Ooh, fancy. Fancy. I just get a salad. How much is this? Is this going to be $100 salad because we're splitting the bill?
Starting point is 01:22:47 Yeah. Or are we all paying for our own thing? You knew what? Or am I paying for everything? You knew what it was when you walked in a half years. Oh my gosh. That's horrible. I'm wondering a drink.
Starting point is 01:22:58 You know what the bills get the worst? Because we're talking about splitting bills and there was this friend group that went out and they were arguing over the bill and went crazy. Like they were literally like, you got the lamb. You got the lamb. Chaos ensued. Super chaos is when there's birthday parties involved. Because we already know we got a pitching for who. whoever's birthday it is.
Starting point is 01:23:18 Yes. Right? But I feel like I'm paying for the birthday person. I'm not, and I'm paying for a piece of the birthday person. Yes. I'm not paying for the whole thing of the, but it just always feels weird at that point.
Starting point is 01:23:30 It's so awkward. I hate it. The only person that can feel chill is a birthday person. Yes. Like someone's got me. Yeah. You know what happened to me last week is we went to catch to celebrate my boy South Tree's birthday.
Starting point is 01:23:42 And the homie, so we all pitched in, he didn't pay anything. We're like, you know, just the homie. We're not going to make him pay. But we go to the bathroom, we're about to leave. And then we come out.
Starting point is 01:23:51 And then one of the homies, shout out to Zay, he had a whole bunch of shots lined up. He's like, one more shot for the road. I'm like, all right, Zay, okay. Because he's a little homie. So I'm like, okay, that's dope of him to like buy us all shots, you know? And then so we all take the shots. And I was like, oh, hell yeah, you know, shout out to South, da, da. And then he's like, all right, yeah, that'll be $26 each.
Starting point is 01:24:10 And I'm like, what? Why did you even propose that? Yeah, I've had a choice to pay the shot. Not take it, then I wouldn't take it. I was like, oh my God, bro, you have so much to learn. He's a little homie, so I just didn't like get on him too bad, but I'm like, we got to talk. Or is he the little homie? Is he any one of those people that's like super old but then plays young?
Starting point is 01:24:30 I hope not. So you can get away with stuff like this? I hope not. Literally, I was like, dude, you don't do this. You don't offer everybody shots and then be like, right. And then don't pay for it. What the hell is that? Man. He's like, you're the zombie, bro.
Starting point is 01:24:42 Wow, that's the thing, though. Yeah. Because my friend invited us to her birthday celebration at the day. the club she's like yeah don't worry like I got the bottle service everything yeah and so she orders bottles and then the next day she sends a text message saying like thanks for coming out for my birthday it's gonna be this much of money money you can send it to me on my on my zelle and in my head on my fool what the fuck I mean I did send it wow and what did you know I'm like I'm like I don't know is that a is that a thing no what did you know that I should only have be friends with letty
Starting point is 01:25:16 Yes. The world keeps showing you that you don't need other friends, Angie. I would never do that to you. And I saw your little photos this past weekend with your little friends taking pictures in the restaurant. I don't even know those fools. They don't even go here. We were actually at a bar. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:37 And I bet you you had to pay for stuff. Priya's about be paid for old. Oh. So you pick it with the friends that accept them. I get it. Wow. Wow. We went to the first.
Starting point is 01:25:46 But anyways, no, my friend did that, but I just felt like, am I wrong or is she wrong? Oh, that's a good. That's a good one. Yeah, bottle service is a little different. Yeah, but she's the one that invited me and planned all this stuff. You know what? She has to disclose that before inviting you because you might just show up and you didn't know that there was a $400 like admission charge.
Starting point is 01:26:08 Pretty much. Yeah. Did you buy her anything? I bought her shots. And then in my head, I only took like maybe two shots because I was driving. Oh, yeah. Which friend was it? You don't know her, but she's your little fan.
Starting point is 01:26:21 Jennifer? She's your fan. Is it Jennifer? No, it's not. Who is it? What is her name? I'm not going to put her on blast. It's why my little fans stay away from my little friend, okay?
Starting point is 01:26:30 Put her on blessed. Put her on blessed. Come on, the guys have spoken. Men roll the world. It was Jessica. Jessica. It's always the Jessica's, you guys. It's always the Jessica.
Starting point is 01:26:42 Hey, if you're listening right now, you're Jessica, stop it. You know what I mean. by stop. You know what you're doing. Cut it out. Stop it. Get it together, Jessica. Everybody else.
Starting point is 01:26:55 Go on your way. All right. We'll talk about splitting the bill. Angie, me and you will talk later. I love you so much. You're my best friend.
Starting point is 01:27:00 I would never do that to you. But then I feel bad too. I know, because you like little poverettas. That's the you like saving. You like saving people. I like saving them. You like projects.
Starting point is 01:27:10 Don't save. You know what I mean. I read. Who we have on the line? Wow. We have Tori from him. El Monte on line one. Tori from El Monte 6 to 6 in the house.
Starting point is 01:27:20 What's up? Good morning. Good morning. Tori, talk to us about splitting the bill. What have you been through? Oh, my gosh. Okay. So, my sisters and I got together for my aunt.
Starting point is 01:27:35 We're really, really, really, really close to her. She's practically racist, right? So, you know, we've been pretty good, like, financially, you know? And we're like, we're going to get together. going to take her off for her birthday, you know, she wanted to go to one of those, like, restaurants that do tamariachi, like, guas, all of that stuff, right? You know? And I'm like, okay, me and my sisters were like, okay, we're going to only pay for her and ourselves. That's it. So my aunt decided to invite my cousin, her husband, obviously she was going to invite her daughter,
Starting point is 01:28:09 and of course my aunt's husband. That's cool, whatever. So we get there and, you know, my cousin starts ordering like the table side watch she starts ordering like these dips she's ordering pinia coladas all this expensive stuff and I'm just like okay you know sorry I she's doing it are you just watching are you like are you in thinking that you might have to pay for it or you know what I had already been under the impression that I was going to pay for it because I have like some other horror stories so I was like a camera you already been doing yeah yes I'm too prepared because you know you You should get it together by this point. You know, we're coming to this restaurant.
Starting point is 01:28:52 You know what it's going to cost, whatever. And it's your mother's birthday. So, girl, you know, you know what I'm saying? Like, you come with an idea. It's like, if you don't have the money, then don't come. Yeah, you know? So me and my sisters are like, okay, you already know she's going to pull this stuff. So let's just come prepared.
Starting point is 01:29:08 So I pulled out cash. My sister never has cash on her. She always has her debit card or her credit card, whatever. My other, my other, um, Carnala, she's got cash. So we're good, whatever. So the bill comes. You know, the mariachi's come. They sing happy birthday to my aunt.
Starting point is 01:29:24 We bring out this really pretty cake. And, you know, my aunt's having such a good time. It's like, you know, okay, I'm a do for my aunt. Yeah. So I put out my money. And the bill comes. And the bill is like 400 bucks. Ooh.
Starting point is 01:29:40 Wow. It's expensive. It's like, it's so, it was like the food wasn't even that good. Yeah. The food always sucks after the bill comes. Oh, yeah. I've had better and she let us. I'm in the car.
Starting point is 01:29:54 I'm in the car after all this before. I'm telling my sister, like, y'all want to go to in and out because that food is that. Damn. Who's paying? Okay. Right. Okay, so we get there.
Starting point is 01:30:05 You know, we get to the bill, right? And me and my sisters, look at it. I have, you know, enough to pay the whole thing. My sister has enough for good. And my cousin, my aunt, you know, kind of like, tells me, you know, like, on the balance. though she's like, hey, um, your cousin only has this much to put in on the bill. It's like $40.
Starting point is 01:30:24 Wow. Gosh, that was like one of her appetizers. That's 10%. Collectively, collectively for like her and her man. And I'm just like, what? Like, you've got to be kidding. Like, you're kidding me. This is not real.
Starting point is 01:30:38 So I didn't want to make a scene, you know? Yeah. If anybody, because you know, it's my aunt's birthday. I'm like, I'm going to just, I'm just chill. So I told my other sister who was a little more hot temper than I. I was like, hey. You know, a home girl only has 40 bucks to put in on a bill. She's like, why the F does she come?
Starting point is 01:30:55 She's just stayed home. Release the hounds. Yeah. Yeah. And that's a bill. Like, okay, we're going to take care of it. What are we going to do? And I'm like, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:31:11 It's your birthday. Like, why are you going to pay it, ma'am? You know, like, put your money away. Paying for the whole thing. Of course. The whole thing. Like, not even a thank you for, like, your cousin.
Starting point is 01:31:26 Cool, you know, like, thanks so much for having my back. You guys didn't even take the 40 books that she had. I would have still. You know, about pride. Yeah. It's not going to take that. Like, what am I going to do? You should have been.
Starting point is 01:31:41 And she's going to feel like, hey, I put in. True. But you could have made them feel bad and be like, oh, not enough for the tip at least. I know. Yeah, did you guys make it feel bad? Not even the hot temper. The hot temper. Feel like when you're a hot tempered person and you're a quiet.
Starting point is 01:31:58 When you're quiet, it's worse. Yeah. So the hot tempered, my hot tempered carnala was like. Like, you know, she's just, you know, just to sell the Mesaura to put this much, this much, this much, this much. Spirited three ways between me and our other sister. And my cousin didn't even want to make eye contact with us. She just sat there stirring her bianco, like, ooh, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:21 That's crazy. I wish your sister, your hot-tempered sister would have done something so people could have had dinner on the show. Yeah. Oh, my God. My sister's, oh, I don't know what I was going to get an earful in the car when we were driving home. So, yeah, when it was over, my aunt was happy. It was cool. It was a beautiful memory that we shared because my aunt passed away.
Starting point is 01:32:43 Oh, my crazy thing is that her daughter sucks, though. Yeah, for real. She doesn't get that tereno. Can I just say, I love that you say Carnala. I've never heard anyone say Carnala as much as you. And now I would like to use that word. So I'm probably going to take it and make it super pop and popular. But just shout out to you for being my inspiration, carnala.
Starting point is 01:33:13 Yay, shout out to me. Shut up to me. Shut up to me. Okay, anyway. And that's when my sister just unload. She's like, they've done this to me before. When we used to go on vacation, we would all go, they would all take vacation to, you know, where all the Chicano's going in the summertime to Laughlin. But she told me she's like, oh, you know, when I went to vacation one time, I had to put in 100 bucks because they didn't even have any money to
Starting point is 01:33:41 buy anything for the rooms and they went on vacation like that. And I didn't think I had to do that. And this and not, I'm like, dang, you know what? It's whatever, you know? Like, it's a memory that we shared with my aunt. Even now to this day. I told that one time that we had to pitch in for this much and blah, blah, blah. I was like, yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:01 Did you pitch it for, like, the burial and stuff like that? Because I'm sure, like, if her daughter's cheap for her birthday, I don't know if her daughter could put in like that. We pitched in a lot. Yeah. Because that impression of us. Yeah. It's like that part from La Bamba where Bob tells Richie, you're the Ajo with all the money.
Starting point is 01:34:25 Yeah. It's literally like that when it's like we don't have a lot of money. We just, you know. You know how to take care of it. You got to take care of it, you know? A.K.A. you do have the money. That's what the ones that have money say. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:40 Yeah. Hey, what's your, what's the poor prima's name? What's her name? What's the cheap girl's name? I can't. Put her on bless. Hey, she left you with a fort. She didn't even give you guys $40 for her mom's birthday.
Starting point is 01:34:53 She had her whole man there. She was ordering extras. Guac is always extra anywhere. She ordered extra the table side. She called you ugly behind your back. She called you ugly. She does. Yeah, she said you and your sister are stupid that you guys fell for it.
Starting point is 01:35:09 That's what she said. My carnal is probably going to tell me like, hey, if you put her on blast, my aunt is going to pull your legs tonight. Yeah, and she's going to say, your aunt. Your aunt's going to say thank you for finally doing what I couldn't. I couldn't put her in her place when I was alive. You know what though? I think it's because me and my aunt were very close. So maybe my cousin feels like some type of way, which is messed up because we're family.
Starting point is 01:35:31 Tori. Tori, you're talking too much. What's her name? I can't. What's her name? What is it rhyme with, Tori? Put her on black. Put her on bless.
Starting point is 01:35:40 Put her on blast. Put her on blast. She cuts you out. She's cheap. She's not even a good prima. She talks about you and all your kids. She says that you guys will know how to take care of them. Yeah, she said all of that.
Starting point is 01:35:50 And she and her man's finer than your man. That's what she said. I don't know about that. Yeah, yeah. Put her on blast. Oh, no. She said you don't even know how to, like, your bathroom's dirty. I'll send you.
Starting point is 01:36:03 I'll send you. I'll send you her Instagram. DM. What's her Instagram? Yeah, say it right now. I'll send it to you. I'll send it to you. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:36:11 Oh, my. Why? You're being too good to your prima that hates you and uses you. Where's the hot tempered sister? Get your sister on the line. She'll put her on blast right now. Oh, my God. Call your Cardinala right now.

Starting point is 01:36:47 Alejandra. Prima, we hate you, Alejandra. Your mom doesn't even like you. Your mom wishes that she had Tori as a daughter and not you, okay? Because at least they pitch in money. Yeah, yeah. Alejandra, Angie has a name for your type.
