Starting point is 00:00:00 August first, good morning. Yeah. Yeah, you, Brownback mornings. Listen up. Guys that have girlfriends and girls that have girlfriends. And listen to me very closely. I'm trying to make sure that you don't have a fight, and at least if you do have a fight today,
Starting point is 00:00:15 it's not over this dumb reason, okay? You go get your girlfriend some flowers. You go get your girlfriend some coffee. Get her, even if it's 8 p.m. when you see her, you get her coffee, okay? You also get her some chocolates or something nice as she likes. It is National Girlfriend's Day, okay? You get her seeing that she feels wow, my boo loves me.
Starting point is 00:00:34 And I'm going to tell you right now, when you look at the definition of what this actually is, it's about friends that are girls, like girlfriends, like me and Angie Day, right? But one dude is going to show love to his girlfriend, and boom, your girlfriend's going to see it, and you didn't do anything for her, and she's mad at you because you didn't.
Starting point is 00:00:50 Well, you should have told your girl that's a friend to do something for you. No, she's going to flip it on you, baby boy. I.E. girl better get something like, hey, I know we're not there. but maybe one day I don't. Shout out you.
Starting point is 00:01:02 I would drive to the ends of Ontario to see you, baby girl. Send her a Q-Tex. Say good morning. It's National Girlfriend's Day. I'm so thankful for you. Boom.
Starting point is 00:01:12 I'm just trying to ensure that you guys do not have a fight today because you already know your girlfriends, right? They're petty, right? They've gotten to fight with you over anything, right?
Starting point is 00:01:21 A thought they had about you? Boom, you're in a fight. I'm so happy that you're a imagination. A meme they saw, boom, they got in a fight with you. They saw this reel about a boyfriend and their girlfriend. and boom, they got mad at you.
Starting point is 00:01:31 How'd you know? See? Because we are girls. This is prime day. Yeah, this is prime day for an argument that would have never been an argument, right? She might get mad at you because you didn't pick where to eat. She might get mad at you for other things. But at least she won't get mad at you for National Girlfriend's Day if you get her something.
Starting point is 00:01:48 In case some dumb man misinterpreted this? Yes. Okay. Some Simp guy. Some Simp guy interpreted it as such. I'll just pull that. Oh, I haven't been on Instagram all day. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:01:58 I didn't see that. No. Some fool is going to. to post his girl on his stories, different photos. I already know the guy that is with my husband. That's why we have all those things that are like six times a year. It's like National Best Friend. I'm like, wasn't that in February?
Starting point is 00:02:11 And honestly, I blame whoever. She's telling her up. What? Honestly, I blame whoever did the definition as National Girlfriend's Day and Made it Girlfriends, like me and Angie thing, right? You never know. I'm kidding. But like a me and Angie thing because there's no National Guy Friends Day.
Starting point is 00:02:27 What did you guys get? They need to. They need to call it National Homegirls Day. Yeah, that part. That part. When it's national... I thought it was girlfriend, girlfriend, like boy and girl, like, girlfriend like that. When it's National Boyfriend Day, it's about your man.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Yes. So why, when it's National Girlfriend's Day, it's about girls that are friends? And by the way, I heard your question. Did you guys get each other? We did. That was yesterday? Today's National Girlfriend Day. Me and Angie literally give each other and stuff everything.
Starting point is 00:02:54 What did they say? You wish. You guys want to see that. That was big. Some people would pay for that. We definitely charged for it. All right. Coming up, you're going to learn today with Angie.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Angie, what's going on? Yeah, we're going to thank the prisoners for this one. And I got to tell you exactly why because... Boyfriends again? Orange is a new black? Yes, those kind of prisoners. Okay, okay, okay. See, we got to get the definitions right today.
Starting point is 00:03:21 All right, keep it here. It's power 106, L.A.'s number one for hip-hop. We're going to learn today. It's time to learn something with our girl. Angelica. With me. Yeah. Oh, good.
Starting point is 00:03:31 Tell me why I just found this one out. Have you guys ever thought about, like, when you were driving and you look at the license plates? Have you guys ever thought, like, what are those? She's so cute. No way. Angelica, please don't. What? I just found this one out.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Angie, are you that sheltered Angie? No way. No way. Okay, you guys are not going to, what I'm going to say? Yeah, prisoners make the license plate. I didn't know that. Oh.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Leticia. Respectfully Angelica. No. No, today you did learn. Angie, get out. You should have learned this like ages ago. No, I did not know that. I honestly just found this one out. Let her go.
Starting point is 00:04:08 I even have this whole little audio that they're explaining it. Go ahead. Including California, where prisoners make more than two million plates a year. Incarcerated workers also respond to DMV calls for a number of these states. They produce and manufacture other equipment as well. You guys knew all that. Hey, wait until she finds out they turn into firefighters soon. I think I could go to college.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Or they fight fires. They can't turn into firefighter. I didn't know about the DMV one, but it makes sense because that place is a prison. You get a degree in college? Hey, this is today I learned today. Angie learned that. Yeah. Well, Maximo, you made license place when you were in prison?
Starting point is 00:04:47 He wasn't in prison. He was in county. Do you know that prison in jail is different? Yes, Maxim. Are you sure? Yes, are you sure? Explain it. Yes, my uncle's like good.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Name one prison. Uh Name one jail I don't know Where do you live With my house If I bump up literally People from the OC really live
Starting point is 00:05:08 Different I know it's a different My I feel like it's something That teachers tell you like A act right you're also gonna be a prison Making license plates Yeah
Starting point is 00:05:17 Like that's like a thing When did you guys learn that? I don't know after we learned the ABCs Yeah they put it in like movies And my uncle told me I don't know I'm certainly a detective to your house.
Starting point is 00:05:27 I've seen it in like movies TV shows. Because she literally like the way I'm looking at her I really thought like oh my God I learned something you guys are going to learn something today. No we definitely know.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Which chis me out because now there's digital license place and now what are we going to have the homies do? I'm sure we'll find some free labor and somehow. Yeah there's a way. I got a license plate customized
Starting point is 00:05:49 my dad was like yeah shut out Casper he made that for you right there. The fact that you even knew It's what I'm embarrassed about. That even Greg, no, it makes sense, Angie. It doesn't make sense to me. It might be an OC thing. Hey, OC, today you learned?
Starting point is 00:06:08 No, I'm like, if they get paid like sense, not even a dollar, then why do we have to pay $50 for the license plates? Same reason why Jordan's cost $5,000. You know how many custom license plates there are? Luxury, luxury purses, all of that. You haven't heard of sweatshops. Cal labor, all that, yes, I have And here I thought I'm like, well, we got to think the prisoners
Starting point is 00:06:29 Wait, who did you think made them? I honestly thought of the government I really did. You think these fools and too? Do you think FBI agents are there like, Ding? Well, it's just deceiving because it's dmvca.gov. So I thought government.
Starting point is 00:06:44 You're so cute. I love your job. Well, they are undergovernment. Technically. Yeah, they are. The government property for sure. But my thought of process is not wrong either. No, it's not.
Starting point is 00:06:55 Yeah, in my head it's making, it makes sense. It makes sense to us to. I really thought. It made sense to us too when we learned when we're like seven. It made sense to us back then. I guess I'm 33 and I just started it. And today. And today?
Starting point is 00:07:10 I learned today. 5106, brown bag mornings. Greg has a girlfriend. He wants to shout her out. Huh? Go ahead, Greg. Yeah, my girl, that's a friend that I gave my designer water to. What's her name?
Starting point is 00:07:21 Designer Water. It's National Girlfriend's Day. Guys are going to try to, like, weasel their way out of why they didn't get you something. Girlfriends, they're going to be like, oh, that's, you're supposed to be the day for you and your homegirls, right? Yeah. But it's also, it would be really nice for you guys to be like, but you know what? You're not just my girlfriend. You're my best friend, so boom.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Yeah, but it's Home Girl Day. Yeah. Apparently it's Home Girl Day. They should have called it Home Girl Day. They should. They call it Girlfriend's Day because they want couples fighting. Because there's going to be one sinful that's going to post his girlfriend. And then why do you post me?
Starting point is 00:07:52 Like Greg posted him. I remember those arguments. Yeah. Remember on National Boyfriends Day when your ex didn't post you so you posted yourself? Yeah. Now she got three kids and going through her second divorce. Ha! And it could have been you.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Why you care? Why are you even checking up on her to know that? Somebody told me. Somebody told you. She's in Arizona, fool. Who told you? Somebody told me. They were like, she's going through her second divorce.
Starting point is 00:08:16 I said, ha. The other voice in your head? Funny. He's like, ha. Should have been three. Yeah. Is this something? She's in Grixie!
Starting point is 00:08:24 She's in Grixie! There's somebody's first name, Face, last name, book? Somebody. I love you, Brad. Maximum made us a flower origami that we all have to share between me, Angie, and Ramona. Because we're all your friends that are girls,
Starting point is 00:08:40 your girlfriend. I'm going to keep it. Just so you know, neither of them have salvi in them. This is a salvi flower. You did it with the salvi flag. That is very true. I'm going to keep it.
Starting point is 00:08:49 You hang up on your fridge from your kids and you protect a lot of it? I want to tell you this right now. The boys made me something similar. Yeah. At a paper mache. And it's up in my room. I have my little thing where I have like La Vina de Wadalupe and I have like some crystals there.
Starting point is 00:09:02 And I have like it's really cute little vibes. And I put their flowers there. Wow. So I want you guys to know little, something little like this means the world to me. Like I always think of you, Maxim. All right. And now I got to give you something cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Yeah. You can even text me a flower, bro. You know what's crazy? So I'm a mom. I appreciate little things. I have to win. Yeah, I got to win. I hope I wait.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Even when I lose I mean What were you guys saying? Oh, I was going to say You know, Jose bought letti coffee Greg got lefty Water Expensive water And then
Starting point is 00:09:33 Maximo gave letti a flower And then what happened to me? That's what I'm saying The show's not over The show's not over Yeah You know what we surprised Angie with Mariachi
Starting point is 00:09:44 Yeah that was super cool Yeah that was really nice And they're available in the morning So yeah Yeah They'll pop in for a few songs I'm kidding, I'm kidding It's National Girlfriends Day
Starting point is 00:09:56 Shout out to all the girlfriends Out there All the friends that are girls The girls that are girlfriends For real The situation ships Shh, don't tell anybody It's a secret
Starting point is 00:10:04 All that Shout out to you We appreciate you Facts Yeah And we have shoutouts as well Shout out to Victor's Prodigy He wants a shout out
Starting point is 00:10:12 Again Vic? Yeah He said he called me Victor's Prodigy on Instagram Oh okay That's I asked him his name And he was like
Starting point is 00:10:17 Just call me that Okay All right All right Relax chill What happened You know how Rihanna has a Navy? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Is it Victor's Prodigies? Potagies? That's crazy. That's pretty cool. That isn't it a protege? Yeah. Because sometimes people like tell me stories and be like, are you proud of me? And I'm like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:35 I like it. I like it. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey, yo. I hugged too. He says, shout out you guys for keeping me entertained on my drives.
Starting point is 00:10:48 It's August, new month, new blessings. And five Fridays in the month. So more money. Let's go. Let's go. Yes. Good way to look at it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Five Friday is in the month. More money. I want to give a shout-up to Abel. I ran up to him at the Monabella Mall yesterday. You ran up to him? No, he ran into it. Oh, that would be crazy. You know, I was sticking up, bulls.
Starting point is 00:11:05 And then he was like, hey, I know you. And I was like, oh, man, I can't. He runs up to him. Hey, I'm on the radio. Yeah. Tell me something. Hey, you know, prisoners are making license plates. Stop.
Starting point is 00:11:14 Hey, you want to shout tomorrow, you. I ran into him and his family. He was like, oh, I listen to you every morning. and I was like, out of rush to leave because I was really, really late to a show. Yeah. But yeah, shout out to him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:26 And a shout out to concrete and the show you guys went to. Yeah. Shout out. Shut out. Duno. Shout out all the other comedians that went out. Duno is there?
Starting point is 00:11:32 He's back from his escapades over in Caboze and Lucas. Yes. And then shout out Marty, who helps run the, he manages and helps run everything they do. Marty. I don't know if I want to shout him out. He keeps Duno away from me, so.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Well. He keeps that full busy, so then he's tired when we do the podcast. I don't know. I don't know, I don't know. Yeah, he is busy. Yeah. But they had an amazing show, and, you know, Concrete ended it with, like, saying that he's happy to be in New Hollywood and the 8-1-8 because he's an 8-1-8 baby, too.
Starting point is 00:11:59 That's cool. So it was really dope to see. Yeah. I want a shout of Buddha and Kathy. They said they're huge friends that they were at the Concrete Show. Nice. And they said, go team USA. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:09 I doubt they said that. I'm going to take that disrespect. Speaking of, speaking of, people are loving the Brown Bank Lipics, you guys. Oh, yeah. If you're not locked into the Brown Bag Lipix, we do this every morning at 830. Okay, Team USA Usa. Yeah, we want gold.
Starting point is 00:12:24 El Salvador checking in. Di Algo. Brian. Brian? He says every Salvi's name is Brian. Well, there's one that works at the station and I couldn't confirm his name is Brian. He's so cool.
Starting point is 00:12:37 Be nice. He's selfie? Yeah. His name is Brian. His name is Brian. His name is Spain. Anglia, rep in Mexico. Mexico.
Starting point is 00:12:46 Mexico. Angie. Chess. Social media is waiting for Mexico to come through. Please don't World Cup this, Angie. I'm not. Please don't cut this. You literally have the most fans by nature of just being Mexico, dog.
Starting point is 00:13:01 But you need to get it together, Anelika. You have no gold right now. I just want to say I'm the only girl in this little bag Olympics right now that's going on. This little bag. Angie, this is my creation. I don't call it a little. The only girl? Like, that's a problem?
Starting point is 00:13:15 That's a blessing. You guys have a advantage. You guys have an advantage. body type, all of that. You get type bigger feet. I don't know, something about them, WNBA. And it's okay. You're going to come.
Starting point is 00:13:26 I am. I'm telling you, Marcibo, don't get too comfortable. You two USA. I'm going to win. All right, we're going to have our brownback Olympics coming up at 8.30, okay? And today is going to be a mouthful, just so you know. It's going to be crazy. Oh, I'm ready.
Starting point is 00:13:40 I'm ready. Right now, though, let's get into Word on Rosecrans. What's the word? Word on Rosecrans. Roast crans. World on Rosecrans. The word is. Soldier Boy responds to Drake about his possible diss to Big Soldier.
Starting point is 00:13:55 All right. So last week, Kaisenot leaked a song of Lil Yadis titled Super Sok featuring Drake. And in the song, Lesia, bless you. In the song, he references Soldier Boy lyrics and Soldier's crew, SOD. And people online were wondering if it was a diss to Big Soldier. All right, listen to the song. How the fuck you let kids? Whoa, not that one.
Starting point is 00:14:19 So people are wondering. It's like, oh, like, why'd you, you know, name, you know, Soldier Boy's crew. And like, they've always kind of historically had issues, as you can remember. Drake! Right? So since that happened, Soldier Boy was like, just in case he was talking about me, he had to go on live and talk about it.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Listen to this. How the you let Kendram Lamar cook, y'all? And then the first thing you respond is that you're trying to come at me You just thank you it ball-headed and you ain't gonna never be shit I love social boy Jake's not bald though yeah I don't know yeah unless you know something we don't know unless the no the braids can't be not real dog That's crazy. No you can you need something hey you're stupid You're so dumb you need something to hold on to like even if you have like the extensions right or like extension braids or whatever you need actual hair hold on to
Starting point is 00:15:21 too. Brite. Yeah. Brite. We need a fact check that day. We do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:26 Well, that's what he had to say. But, you know, he's just, just in case. Just in case you diss me,
Starting point is 00:15:32 I'm going to diss you right back. Yeah. I'm probably bald-headed. That hurts. Yeah. All right, look, 50 cent brought
Starting point is 00:15:39 $3.5 million to an interview and had lots to say. All right? So 50 cent was interviewed by the Hollywood reporter recently, and he brought
Starting point is 00:15:47 $3.5 million to the interview for the cover shoot. And he was inspired by Muhammad Ali, who once brought $1 million to a Sports Illustrated interview. And in the interview, Fitti also talked about his Diddy documentary, saying he is making it is real. It's not a troll. He's saying, because they asked him, so why are you making this? And he said, you know, well, I'm right now in hip-hop.
Starting point is 00:16:09 I'm making the best film and TV productions. So that's why I'm doing it. And he also confirmed he doesn't like him because he wants to take him shopping. He said, yeah. Well, he has that bad thing. Yeah. He's like, you know, it's because. What kind of man takes another man shopping?
Starting point is 00:16:22 Yeah. And, you know, like, these are things that, like, 50s has, like, referred to, like, on Instagram, like, on his page and stuff. But you never know if he's trolling or being exaggerated. But this is, like, on the record, you know what I'm saying? With, like, a major magazine. So, you know, he's confirming all this. And then he also said one time that Mary J. Blige called him and tried to, like, squash
Starting point is 00:16:43 the beef, you know, because they're close and that's, like, a mutual friend of theirs. Yeah. You know, Mary J. Blige is on. you know, one of 50s on shows. And she, you know, came up with Diddy. And he said, 50 said that did not work. And then he also said that, that Eminem told the Super Bowl people that he wouldn't do it.
Starting point is 00:17:05 Yeah, yeah, sorry. That he wouldn't do it without 50. That he would not do the Super Bowl without 50. Oh, okay, okay, okay. Yeah. Nice. That's what $3.5 million looks like, huh? Yeah, actually, he was looking at the photo, too,
Starting point is 00:17:16 and I was like, I thought it would be more. I thought it looked like more. That's more money than I've seen in my life. When you say he brings like 3.5 million, literally he brought cash in. Yeah, he brought cash. And they asked him, they're like, oh, do you have to go to the bank? He's like, I had it. He's like, I had more too.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Yeah. What? I would have that information out of that. Yeah, that's crazy. That's what he said. But I also wouldn't mess with 50. Yeah. 50.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Let me borrow a dollar. He doesn't have. Dollar bills. He doesn't have. Dollar bills. I don't think he's seen two quarters in life ever. in a long time. All right, that was your word on Rosecrans.
Starting point is 00:17:50 I'm Rose Kranzvik for Brown Bag mornings. I'm Power 106. What's up? This is Be Real from Cypress Hill. Where are you from, Esse? Don't you know I'm local? Parking tickets, parking tickets. Parking tickets.
Starting point is 00:18:02 We all hate to see them on our windshield. And the worst is like when you know you deserved it, you're like, oh, they got me. Yeah, right? But now they're going to make you suspicious because apparently there's parking tickets that are being used as scams. And more notably, they have QR code. So the Alhammer police and police all over are warning motorists about fake parking tickets that appear to be authentic on the parking ticket, which kind of looks like a CVS receipt.
Starting point is 00:18:29 It looks like a CVS receipt with a QR code. And it says pay your ticket here, blah, blah, blah. You scan it and it takes you to a website or downloads the malware to your computer, gets your information, not to your computer, to your phone, and gets your information that way. So be very, very mindful of that. that doesn't come from the, I guess, the parking police. Just in case I'm going to never pay any. Yeah. Just in case they're so dumb.
Starting point is 00:18:54 I guess to be cautious, don't scan anything that has a QR code, right? And there are some tickets that do have a QR code. And that's why they're like, maybe that's where they got the idea. Like, hey, we could do it this way. But usually parking tickets come with an envelope on it. So if you don't get a parking ticket that has an envelope on it, like in it, yeah. Maybe it might be fraudulent.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Just be a little bit. suspicious of it. If it has a QR code, be more suspicious of it. See, this is what I always, when I see a parking person giving tickets, I start honking to hope to save the person that's getting a ticket. You're so darned. You're telling me parking tickets are already
Starting point is 00:19:29 a scam because we have to pay this money to park somewhere. Now we have to watch out for actual scams. Yeah. Wow. That's an original scam. Who's more of a scam? Well, the legal scam or the illegal scam? Just one's legal one's not. I remember I was on 6th Street and they had kind of by the gun club and they the parking, right?
Starting point is 00:19:46 And then so it's the one where you got to go pay and then bring the receipt little thing back to the video. So I did that, but I'm like, cool. I did that. I'm fine. I come back and there's a parking ticket. And I was like, oh, hell no. Like, I know I didn't deserve this.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Yeah. I know I didn't deserve it, but it also didn't have anywhere to call. It's just like, hey, you have a parking ticket. And I was like, I'm not going to pay it. I was also in a rental. So I hope that. They figured it out. They figured out.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Yeah, God bless whoever. You know what? And the worst thing is like, there's some streets that have like seven signs. That's completely. And I'm like, bro. Yeah. I've seen those. Like, what do you want me to do?
Starting point is 00:20:18 That's LA free. I thought this was a free country. I could have swore. Yeah. Free parking. Parking tickets already a scam. Yeah. Well, nothing's free, dog.
Starting point is 00:20:26 Parking is free for real. Yeah, bro. This is you, USA. You actually got to defend this. You know where parking is free? Where? El Salvador. Espana.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Probably not either. Yeah. El Salvador parking is free. It might be dirt. And you don't know where you're parking. have a car. And you're Rocky? Where you park?
Starting point is 00:20:48 The beach? Wherever. Just pull up. Yeah. That's scaring himself too. And I think it just has to do more with lots. Parking lots? Someone owns the lot so they're going to charge you to be on the lot.
Starting point is 00:21:00 I need a lot. It's really, that's essentially. Yeah, that's a smart business. But it's also like, yeah, you have somebody that owns a lot. Probably owns multiple. Probably owns all the ones on the block. And then they get really cool with the city councilmen and be like, hey, let's pass some laws for parking. tickets around this area
Starting point is 00:21:15 and make sure they're permitted only. And if anything, my cousin Chewy's a scammer so we could just do the fake ones and we can still get some non. And then we can pocket it. Yeah. Everything is scammed. You're either the scammed or the scammer.
Starting point is 00:21:29 So pick one. I want to be the scammers. Don't do that. All right. That was just to let you know. Be careful out there when you get a ticket. I know some of you already don't pay attention to it. But more so don't ever
Starting point is 00:21:41 scan a QR code that's on your windshield or anything like that. Like, just be careful of that. And beat up a meter maid just in case. No, don't do that. She has honk at them when they're giving tickets. What's honking going to do? If someone is around and that's their car,
Starting point is 00:21:54 they're going to turn around to see who's honking, and they're going to see their cars getting a ticket, then they run over there and hopefully I save them. But how did they not see the parking enforcement? Because they're probably doing whatever. I get what Maximo's saying. I'm a good citizen, but. That's actually really nice.
Starting point is 00:22:07 You think there's like a movie. Like, no, no, no, no, no. But I would just like to shout out all the parking. Yeah. Yeah, shout out. Hell no. There's a nice one. I wish my kid would grow up to be a parking enforcer.
Starting point is 00:22:18 What? Keep talking like that and the way karma works? No. The irony of life? No. Shut up there. I get to give people tickets. It's like a video game.
Starting point is 00:22:26 They're working and they are grinding. They are working and they are grinding. No, they're not even working. One time I pulled over for one. Bro, they're on bikes. One second, I pulled over and I got a ticket in the mail a month later. Where'd you pull over? They're working.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Illegally? I pulled over a red fool. You pulled over in a red fool. You're so mad at someone. When you did something illegal, how dare they catch me doing illegal things? I pulled over in the red just to get around something. Get around what? It hurt?
Starting point is 00:22:50 No, get around the little like, hey, how much? This is why you have great spray pain in your trunk. You spray pain. All right, we're not doing that. We're not doing that. Sim or Pimp. B IMP. Sip, Sip, Sip, Sip, Sip, Sip, Sip, Sip, Sip, Sip.

Starting point is 00:24:05 I don't want to say Kobe Because that's you know He hasn't proved enough for that Yeah but like he's he's their guy Like how Carmello used to be their guy. Like, he's the leader of their team. He's scoring, you know, 25 points a game.
Starting point is 00:24:17 He came to the playoffs. He came from a different team. The culture center. And he left a really good team to come to New York, which was an okay team. But he really elevated that team. And it was almost like a fairy tale kind of season. Right. They played really well.
Starting point is 00:24:33 So New York, their fandom is extreme. They, like, when you're good, they love you. And I'm going to show you a little bit of how New York fans are. Listen. Yeah, because like a flash mob, like, after any playoff games that they have at the garden in New York, it's like, that's how crazy. Did they go home? They did okay this year? No, literally if they play in one playoff game, that's how they act.
Starting point is 00:25:16 That's how they act. Yeah. And it gets more intense the later rounds. So, and the comments got so extreme. I mean, they went on. I've never been so jealous of a woman in my life. Like, why couldn't that woman be me? And, I mean, this is, like, fans.
Starting point is 00:25:31 Yeah. Like his dudes, his girls. Like, they're just... Who's your guy's dude, like, crush like that? Who's the dude that you, that would have you in the comments like that? Mani Machado. Machado? Yeah, Mani Machado.
Starting point is 00:25:44 You would be... What would you tell Mani Machooo? I'm like, you're the greatest player of all time and I love you. Yeah. I would drink your bad water. Maximo? Jesus. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:25:56 Your cousin Jew here would. Yeah, I love Jesus. Or Jesus Christo. Jesus? Jesus. Tell me how much you love Jesus. I love Jesus. Tell me about him.
Starting point is 00:26:04 That's my best friend. That's your best friend. He talked all the time. Yeah. Yeah. He helped me out when I need help. Wow. Like right now?
Starting point is 00:26:11 He makes you whole. He makes you whole. Maxie, when we need shirts, I'm going to sing for Jesus. Victor. Sometimes I wish I wasn't me so I can comment on my own page and hype myself up. Oh, my God. That's a good one. That is the peak Victor.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Yeah. That is very big. He's his biggest fan. He's a long time. He's been showing us what he thinks we want to see. and just a nice humble guy cares about community. That's not.
Starting point is 00:26:34 I cares about women's right. This is Victor, you guys. Yeah, I'm disappointed when I leave here because I didn't get to listen to myself. Welcome back. Yeah, you're listening right now? He's jealous of you. Yes, I'm jealous of you all
Starting point is 00:26:46 because I can't tune into myself. Peak, Victor. Angie, is there a girl that you get like that for? Oh, yeah. And I think I've tweeted it before. For Janaya Iiko. I love her. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Yeah, she's so silly. I love her. She was like pregnant with Big Shy and you were like, oh. That could have been me. Yeah. Oh, wow, whoa, whoa. It's just that it's the same way. Yeah, I'll get you.
Starting point is 00:27:16 No, yeah. But it's funny. And I'm gonna read one more comment because he, this got so bad he disabled his comments. Okay, what? Oh, sorry. Letti, let me. Do you have somebody? I think right now it's Carol G.
Starting point is 00:27:29 I care so much about it. I care about her. I just want to take care of her. I hope she takes water every day. Do you feel? And she's her facial. Yeah, I literally hope that. I hope that outfit goes great for her.
Starting point is 00:27:42 I hope her hair is good, right? Do you feel things when she changes her hair color? You're just like, oh, like, now we're blue today. I'm just rooting for her. Like, it's like, I'm rooting for you, girl. Yeah. If she has a knob, I have enough. Rosalia, what's up with it.
Starting point is 00:27:55 Okay. Hey, hey, hey, hey. What's up with it. Hey, hey, hey, I ride for mine. Right from mine, okay? I respect it. Okay. No, but the comment that got...
Starting point is 00:28:04 Yeah, it said, that should be me holding your hand. That should be me making you laugh. That should be me. This is so sad. The Justin Bieber song? That's the quoting right there. Stop. You would know it Justin Bieber song.
Starting point is 00:28:15 It got so bad. Family and everything, right? Simping over, what's his name? Jaylon Brunson. He's that good, guys. Apparently. Okay, you got to think, like, anything that's remotely good with New York basketball gets amplified because they,
Starting point is 00:28:30 love it so much. You know what I'm saying? Like the same way we love. You're not answering the question. Is he that good, Vic? To be like, no, he's not Michael Jordan. He's not Cooprene. Is he even Anthony Edwards?
Starting point is 00:28:43 He's, no. No. But he's New York. So they love him as if he was. Wow. Yeah, you would have swore he was a second coming to G. He had to disable his comments for his anniversary. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:56 So it's wiped on your jelly. No, literally. I can just. Man, from all the groupies. I can picture him, like, kicking his feet, twirling his hair. Like, oh, my God, these comments. I was literally going to say that. Like, him reading all his comments, like, what?
Starting point is 00:29:08 That's wild. Yeah. Nick fans. Yeah. Simps. Simps. Simps. Simps.
Starting point is 00:29:14 Keep in here. You're probably 106. L.A's number one for hip-hop. Oneos Diaz. Good morning. All right, check this out, homie. You need a homie or need some help. We need your help.
Starting point is 00:29:23 We need a line. I mean, phone line. We got you for. The homie. The guys were looking at Chris Brown. What? We're not. Yeah, you were.
Starting point is 00:29:34 No, we were not looking at Chris Brown. You were looking at Chris Brown. You were talking about Chris Brown. Sean Michaels. You want to do the meet and greet. Eight generations. No, I said, Angie asked us. It was my fault because I'm like, okay.
Starting point is 00:29:45 If you could do any pose of Chris Brown, what would you do? I said, I would do the Sean Michaels and Triple H pose. What's that? Which is like the wrestling one, but you like put your muscles up. Oh, I thought it was a sucky one. No. Who's doing that? That'd be cool.
Starting point is 00:29:59 Yeah. Greg. That one, right? I would do the fusion dance with Chris Brown. What's that one? It's Dragon Ball Z where you guys point the fingers or your tips. You pointed to you. You touched your tips?
Starting point is 00:30:09 Whoa. All right, think there. All right. Get out of here right there. Three. I hug two. I hug two. I hug two.
Starting point is 00:30:19 I hug two. A minor. Crazy, Vic. How is it? It's insane. What is? Wow. I hugged two.
Starting point is 00:30:28 What is going on with Vic? Are you ready to restart the day? Are you? I hope so. Okay. All right, check this out, homie. You need a homie or need some help. We need your help.
Starting point is 00:30:42 We need a line. I mean, phone line. We've got you for. The homie help line. I mean. I need your help. I don't know. He just keeps.
Starting point is 00:30:54 We don't even want to talk about the photo he put in the group chat this morning. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that was weird. That was like, I was like, how did you get that? Yeah. Umberto, I don't know how to use Photoshop. His creepsaber is crazy, yeah. We have a group chat about, of work.
Starting point is 00:31:10 We do. Vic put in a Photoshop photo of a Calvin Klein model with Greg's face on it. But the Calvin Klein in underwear. And nobody's going to ask why Humberto walked in the studio with that on his own? Hey, I don't know about it. He had it pre-looted. To reach his own brother. I don't know what kind of thing I shared.
Starting point is 00:31:30 You know what I heard? Out of the corner of my ear? Hey, send that to me, send that to me. Yeah, send that so I can send it to the child. Because it was funny. We were all like, why are you having that, bro? What's funny about it? It's just funny because it's not him.
Starting point is 00:31:44 Because you imagine. How do you know? Actually, I don't know. It's not him. All right. Okay. We're really helping today besides it. Me.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Kane. Kane needs our help. Kane. Oh, Kane. Kane sent us a DM and said, hi, my name is Kane. And I have a problem. brown bag. My wife and I have been together for 10 years and her friends have become my friends
Starting point is 00:32:03 over the years. We're a really close group. At one point or another, we've all had money problems and supported each other. We always pay each other back by a certain deadline with no problem. Oh, what is that thing called when you put the group, like a group money? Crowdfunding? No, it's a... Tanda. Tanda. Tanda. It's like a good... I don't know. That's how I know it. Kundina. Can one of you explain it more? So what it is is like a group of people, whatever amount you choose. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:35 So let's say it's $100. It's eight people. Everyone puts $100 and every month it switches off to who gets the $800. Yeah. So you put in a, and it's to help out your friends, your community, some neighbor sometimes, family members sometimes. Yeah. And then you just do it knowing the next day, the next month you get it.
Starting point is 00:32:55 I think that's called an allowance. in my house. No, it's not in allowance. You would have to put in. Yeah, you put in. But think about it, you put in $100, right? But you can get $800 back. Eventually.
Starting point is 00:33:07 Eventually. It's a thing. It's a thing. It helps, like, save. Like save money. It helps people save money because my sister does it all the time. That's how she gets. Who?
Starting point is 00:33:20 Oh, at work. She does it the same thing at work. Maybe we should start doing that. You can do that work too? Yeah, they'll do like, But they do like 200 sometimes or 50 bucks, but then she's like, no, this helps me save his sister. And they do it with numbers. So they'll be like choosing a number.
Starting point is 00:33:34 And then each week would be like, oh, this is my number. It's my turn. So I get the $800 this time. So basically like all of us like Letty, Vic and G. We all put in $100 in every week. Somebody else gets money? Every month. Oh.
Starting point is 00:33:46 I've never heard of that. I've never heard of that. Yeah. Really? So it's part helping out your homie, but part also you getting help too because it comes around to you too. Unless you're the first one, which kind of sucks. Because then you have to wait to go out to run, everybody.
Starting point is 00:33:59 Because then you have to pay for the rest of the... Yeah, for eight months. It's a thing. It helps. That's cool. It helps. I mean, yeah. Wow. We have to help Kane. So, Kane said, but she has this one friend, Beth. She's a great person, but ends up with money problems the most because she's the main provider for her whole family. We never have a problem helping her out, and this past January was no different.
Starting point is 00:34:23 She asked to borrow money. We sent it. She said she'd pay us back the following month and we said, okay. February came around and nothing. We thought she needed more time, but March came around and she asked for money again. He said, I had to remind my wife that she didn't pay us back from January, but my wife let her borrow money again. The following month, she paid us, but still hasn't paid us from her January borrowing. Oh, she paid the February off, but not the January.
Starting point is 00:34:49 Yeah, she said. Maybe she thought it was New year. New month. So last year. Don't ask me about last year's problems. He said the following month she paid us but sells and paid us from January borrowing. I told my wife we're not letting her borrow money ever again.
Starting point is 00:35:03 I want to ask her for the money back, but it might ruin the whole friend group. How do I confront her about it? Sheesh. Money is a root of all evil. Yes, it is. Yeah, but it's her, it's his girl's friend. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:16 But he said that over time because they've been together so long, you end up like becoming friends still. I get that. You have like a, I guess this, like, technically is not like your friend, but you have like a softball for that person. Yeah. Yeah. And then if somebody says they're going to pay you back, are you holding them accountable for that too? I mean, I've always been told, like, if you let somebody borrow some money, make sure you can live without it because, like, you might not end up good back.
Starting point is 00:35:40 That's true. You know, like, you have to be prepared for that and not be shocked. Like, oh, my God. This person that has financial issues is not paying me back. Like, yeah. Yeah, what do you expect? Exactly. Yeah, you have to be prepared for it.
Starting point is 00:35:51 I mean, also depends on the amount. you know? Yeah. I mean, if it's like, if I let someone borrow 100 bucks or something like that and they don't pay me, I'm not going to hold like a grudge over like $100. But if it's like you let someone borrow like $5,000 or something and they're not paying your back, then it's like, all right, bro, like this is different. The $100 might not bother you, but I think it's the consistency of the borrowing.
Starting point is 00:36:12 Yeah. For sure. It's the $100 every other month. Yeah. And not paying back or somewhere here giving you $50 here or whatever. then at some point you you gotta call it like don't even pay me back yeah because you're gonna you're gonna I guess go through it yeah keeping the tally in your head of how much you've let you more upset yeah let you catch you at a bar and then they don't want to ruin the friendship yeah yeah the friendship doesn't
Starting point is 00:36:41 want to be ruined as well yeah you watch their stories and they're like having fun you're like spending my money that's my bottle right there uh-huh you become real bitter real fast Quick. Okay, so Kane wants to know he wants to ask for the money back. It might ruin the whole friend group. Oh. How does he confront her about it? How does they get their money back?
Starting point is 00:37:00 And maybe make sure this girl doesn't ask them specifically again. Maybe she's going to every friend. Like, maybe take your turn. I'm asking you this month. I'm asking them next one. There's 12 months in a year. Yeah. 818 5205.9.
Starting point is 00:37:15 That's 818 5205.9. And how did you get your money back from somebody you lent it to? Because low key, that's the secret people need to know I followed a Stewie from Family Guy Model Where's my money? Where's my money? That's literally, that's all you have to say? No. Just tell me about it.
Starting point is 00:37:30 No? Save me the time. What happens? He shoots his dog in the leg. All right, we're not doing that. It's a cartoon, it's a cartoon. Still, we're not doing it because you said you would do it as a human. No, it's a joke.
Starting point is 00:37:40 All right. Keep it here. It's right. Check this out, homie. You need a homie or need some help. We need a line. I mean, phone line. We got you for the homie helpline.
Starting point is 00:37:53 Kane needs our help. Kane. All right. Kane has a wife. Her wife has a friend, been together or been friends for 10 years. And she never has any money. They borrowed money. They're broken.
Starting point is 00:38:05 She's going through it. The friend says that the friend is a great person. It ends up with money problems because she's a provider for her whole family. Yes. All right. All right. They borrowed money from Kane and his girl back in January. and then asked to borrow money yet again in March.
Starting point is 00:38:23 She paid back the March balance, but the January is still pending. And now he's wondering, like, all right, one, we're never letting her borrow money again. Two, should I ask for the money back, or is this going to, like, ruin the whole dynamic of the friend group? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:37 You know, it seems like he cares about this girl, too, but is also just like, dude, where's my money? cares about his money. And he did add that she came asking again. Yeah, right. She came asking again now. A third time? A third time.
Starting point is 00:38:49 And that's when he told his wife, hey, we're not letting her borrow anymore. This is not a well of money. Yeah. All right. So, we're going to you for help. Have we ever gotten money back from anybody, though? I was not to keep in touch. Have you ever gotten money back from someone that owed you money and didn't, like, pay you back initially?
Starting point is 00:39:09 Like, I think that's what we want to find out. Right. We get this bread back. I mean, I think at the end of the day, most of the time, it just always ruins the relationship. So you never let anyone borrow money? Me? You just said that if you get asked the $100, I'd be like, oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:39:28 Depends. Yeah, so I asked you for $100. Kane just messaged us and added on that friend also owes another friend $500. In the group. Oh, so it's just a cycle. It's a cycle of just borrowing money. She's probably a really good time. She probably is.
Starting point is 00:39:44 She gives something to the friend group that money can buy. Hey, no, bros. She said she brought it up that she'd pay another friend the debt, and he had to bite his tongue. Maybe she pays back what the money she borrows from you. Yeah, Rob Potto pay Piper or whatever. What? Rob Pott of Pay Peter. What you say about a pipe?
Starting point is 00:40:08 Here you go again, Big. Uh-oh. I hugged two. I hugged two. I hugged two. I hugged two. I hugged two. I hugged three.
Starting point is 00:40:16 Mayer. I hug two. I hug two. I hug two. Leave me along, Craig. Okay. Do you Craig get big? Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:28 Let's take it to the phone lines. Let's take it to the phone lines. Okay. Let's go to Christine in Pekoyima. Christine. Good morning. Christine. How are you?
Starting point is 00:40:39 Doing good. Going to my last final school today. Let's go. Nice. You got this. Where do you go to school? Believe to achieve. I'm going to Los Angeles mission.
Starting point is 00:40:49 Conno. You're going to mission? You're going to mission? Christine, I went to mission. Tight. Shout of you. They don't have any, they don't have me on the walls or anything because I didn't like finish anything.
Starting point is 00:41:00 But I went there. Really nice campus. The computer lab is amazing. Super tight. And then El Carrizo Park is right there, right? Yeah. Right, right down the street. You better come through tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:41:11 We're going to be out there. Yeah. Today's your last day of schools. You have no excuses. Come on, Christine. Oh, definitely be there. Let's go. Hey.
Starting point is 00:41:18 All right, Christine. But what do you got to? tell uh kane about the situation i would say ask for the money back because they're just well like you know you already told your wife not to let her borrow money but still like she you know let her borrow money and probably will keep taking advantage like that and it's it would be a pattern so better ask for that money back as well as uncomfortable as it is but at the end of the day it's every man for themselves for real all right christine you actually got money back from somebody that you let borrow money you have to tell me about that yeah so last june i was pretty off good i was
Starting point is 00:41:55 i was good so i was like okay let me lend a helping hand my coworker has to borrow three hundred dollars three hundred dollars is a lot of money yeah really well and i did it out of my savings too i'll get it back it's just borrowing yeah yeah right technically right supposedly so she was like oh i'll pay you back next month thank you so much you gave me like pretty much a good Like a sob story. I was like, how could I say no? Yeah. So I let her borrowing.
Starting point is 00:42:22 And then I found out I was pregnant a couple months later. And then I had a bad start to the year. So I was like, no, I need that money back. And the whole time, I would ask her for it, but she'd be like, oh, don't have it. So when I found out in November that I was pregnant and she'd be like, oh, when I get my taxes back, I'll pay you back. When I get my taxes, I'm like, okay. That's all the way in April. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Right. So the next year. So I was like, okay. I gave her the benefit of the doubt still. I was like, let's, okay, okay. And then my car broke down and I was like, no, I'm going to need that money. A step. So as uncomfortable as it was, I had to ask for it.
Starting point is 00:42:56 And yes, he paid up. But it was. And then even then it was like, okay, 100 here, 150 here, and then the last 50. And then at least I got it back. And so you just kept pressuring it because you're like, dude, I can't, I can't, this is money that I need. There's things that are popping up in my life. Like, just like how I helped you, I need that help right now with my money, with my own money. That's the messed up part when you got to start begging for your own money.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Yeah, to help you. And she's probably like, you don't need that. You don't need that bad. Yeah, no, especially she had special pay me next month. But it was almost, that's how I was like, I'm not going to let it hit the year over $300. And she was, after I quit my three jobs, that's when I was kind of good. But then I quit my jobs and I was left with one. She was working more than me.
Starting point is 00:43:38 So I was like, girl, you could have been paid me back. Yeah. I'm going to need that. Did you ever see her in the clubs, you know, spending money? No. Does she always have the new Jays? Yeah. No, Christine's from Pecoimo.
Starting point is 00:43:48 She would have ran that fade if something was happening like that. Look, Christine, did she ever try to pay you back with other things besides money? Yes, she would. So since I was pregnant, she would constantly offer me like a pump, or she would ask me, offer me different things that she had left over from her two kids. Oh, lessover. Like, you know this breast pump? I got it free from insurance, but it costs like $150.
Starting point is 00:44:12 So take that off my tab. No, you should just give me that because you're my friend. Yeah. Right. What the hell? But the thing is, after she paid me back, ya no me it offered, yeah, of course, of course not.
Starting point is 00:44:23 She wanted to give you that breastwood, like dry leche on it still? It's crazy. She sold it for six hours. Greg ones. You're better. Do you talk to her now after you finally got your money back?
Starting point is 00:44:36 Yeah, I do. I keep the peace, you know, because we still want the same place, and at least it's, like, it's covered. It's done. It's over me. So let's move on. You learned your lesson.
Starting point is 00:44:45 Yeah. You're a mom. You're a good time. You're very responsible. You're in school right now. That's good. Got that financial aid because the baby. I was wondering if I could borrow $2.50.
Starting point is 00:44:54 Yeah, me too. No. No. Stop it. Stop it now. When my taxes come back around. What about the breast pump? You're gross.
Starting point is 00:45:01 Oh, right. That's what you asked for? Christine, you have a good day at school. I wish you the best. I send you good vibes. You're going to kill it. And I hope that we meet you tomorrow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:11 Bring that 250. Yes. No. Just have no money. Just have no money. Just have no. You have no money. Just have no money on you.
Starting point is 00:45:16 Now we all know you got bread. Yeah. All right. All right. Bye. Have a good thing. Bye. Brother, from June all the way to the next, no, yeah, to March.
Starting point is 00:45:27 Yeah. She got her bread back. Wow. That's a lot of time. And it's always like, hell, key, pay you next month. Yeah, girl, I got you. What do you have right now? Yeah, what do you have right now?
Starting point is 00:45:37 Remedy up your pockets. We got Clarissa on the line from Huntington Park. What's up, Clarissa? Clarissa. Clarissa. Clarissa. Clarissa Hello

Starting point is 00:47:02 Look how she's ready to say. Like, oh my God, does he wake you up or does him crying wake you up? No, I'm a deep sleeper. You're a deep sleeper? Oh, all right. Do you have to, are you mad you have to share your love with you? your parents now. Are you mad that you didn't want to give this shout out,
Starting point is 00:47:20 but your mom made you get a shot out. I wanted to do it. Okay, Corrissa. Thank you for calling in, Clarissa. I appreciate your phone call, Mama Cita. For real. All right. All right.
Starting point is 00:47:34 All right, she's so cute. All right, Clarissa, you have a good day. And Clarissa's mom too. Hey, we hear you. What up, girl? I got a baby too. All right. We got Michael from Whittier on the line.
Starting point is 00:47:49 Michael. What's up, Michael? What's up, Michael? What's up at? Michael, you have also lent out money. What happened? Yes. All these lenders.
Starting point is 00:48:01 I know, very generous. Big ballers, huh? I know. What's up? No, so my friend, two my friends, they were, they really moved out of their house to get an apartment. And they're asking everybody, hey, you know, we need a, um, down payment for you know security deposit for their down payment so I was like you know they asked me first for 200 I was like yeah yeah no no no worries you know so
Starting point is 00:48:27 then they again the end of the 200 and then so then they're like hey we're still short we asked everybody you know we're still short two hundred dollars all right fine no worries to get another 200 and so you know I was like I like I'm two hundred two hundred it's not that much you know they're like two separate months. So I'm like, you know, I got paid. And so I'm cool about it. And then, and then they, so today they had to make their payment, their rent.
Starting point is 00:49:00 That's the first. And they passed me again. Yeah, they asked me again. Why don't we're moving out? They asked me again, hey, you know, we're short, we're short 200. So I'm like, all right. Do they really have you, like, in a group chat or something? Are you good at first?
Starting point is 00:49:16 Yeah. They hit you up. For sure. I feel like Luisito and Orito are going to do this. And hey, you ask her in the group chat. Hey, you ask her. You ask her. Is your turn?
Starting point is 00:49:22 I asked last week. Yeah. So I'm kind of like, I mean, I do feel like, you know, if you do ask, like, you kind of like. Michael, are you going to give them $200? Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Hey, bro, shoot $200 over here. That's $600 you've given them in total.
Starting point is 00:49:43 Yeah. Because they're short. Tell them to get taller. No, but my friend did text. He's like, hey, I'll pay you Thursday at so time. I'm like, all right. I'm going to expect that month at $200. And then so my solution is to tell them, hey, every paycheck you guys get, there's two of them.
Starting point is 00:50:01 Okay. She'll look at my friends. Every time they get paid, you know, hey, just pay me 50 bucks, you know. Yeah. A little dump. A little payment plan. Yeah, a little payment plan. Like the kuros.
Starting point is 00:50:12 A little Klarna. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, so that's my plan. You know, hopefully I'll text them maybe at the end of the week because, you know, they'll probably get paid this week. You know what's crazy is they probably know when you get paid. Yeah. Yeah, that's how they do.
Starting point is 00:50:25 They probably know when you get A, it's Friday A. That means I'm on. Hey, call them on three ways. Let's ask them for the money right now. Yeah. You need to sell them. You're short. Ask them for their pay period.
Starting point is 00:50:35 Yeah. Yeah, no, so I'm going to put my foot down. I'm kind of scared I don't want to. Yeah, garners their wages. But, you know, money's money. So we'll see what happened. And see, that's the thing because it kind of hits your principle. Like, I don't want to lose a friend over money, but it's like, it's not you losing them.
Starting point is 00:50:50 Like, they're choosing to, yeah, they're choosing that too. For sure. I have a homie that was like, look, if you don't pay me back, like, that's how much it costs to get rid of you. Yeah, that's one way to look at it. Like, just use that as like, that's the bread it costs to get rid of this person. Yeah. Bro, what are you doing that? You're your pilot?
Starting point is 00:51:08 What do you do for work? I work for retail. You're retail. You got all that bread? What'd you do for work? work like what retail what do you sell feet
Starting point is 00:51:18 I'd rather not say what do you sell why you so suspicious what's that sound I don't want them to hear they know hey they know your voice
Starting point is 00:51:30 hey Michael from Whittier's homies that just got $200 from me and have been getting $200 for him because you're short I know a couple of Michael's from Wadier yeah they already know it's you Greg knows me
Starting point is 00:51:42 I know you Yeah, I went in high school together Oh my dude You didn't even pay for rent Michael, what do you work in retail Where do you work at, Macy's? I can't say Hey Michael
Starting point is 00:52:00 Retail is closed at this time right now Does your friend that owes your money Go by the name Christian? There's a guy named Christian A.K. Greg. All right All right Michael That works in retail from Whittier
Starting point is 00:52:13 That his friend Omm 600 by now That you don't want to lose their friendship, but they don't mind taking money from you. He works at Home Depot. How does it feel to be a sugar daddy? Do you even get anything out of it? What do you get out of it?
Starting point is 00:52:28 Not good. Not good? No, Michael. But we'll resolve it. Michael, you're so cute. I wish you the best, Michael. I wish you more money so that your friends can just keep eating off you. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:52:43 You know, Greg, you can ask for money, too. Tell Irene on the line where you work so we could go. over to you. All right, sounds good. All right. Okay, bye. We'll tell you guys where he works. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Yeah. How much money you make. We're going to empty out his pockets. No. No. Oh, no. We're not going to do that. Yeah, they get us to it.
Starting point is 00:53:02 You know how they always say it's girls? All these things have been, dude. Guys. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I would expect to hear more girl stuff. Why?
Starting point is 00:53:10 Because they're saying they broke? No, it's just like, I know because it's a thing that you guys are always like, girls get sugar daddy money. Well, that. Oh my God. That makes sense. That's all. Not even that.
Starting point is 00:53:20 There's two grown men in a group chat asking Michael from Whittier. Hey, we're short on cash, bro. That's wild. I'm going to be honest because, like, us guys, I feel like we don't really lend too many stuff out besides maybe like tools and like things like that. Not even lending. It's more taking, though. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:36 Because I'm saying like, if Greg doesn't have a PS5, he's not going to be like, hey, let me borrow your PS5. Like, that's not going to go down in the world. I don't know. Maybe he will. But girls will be like, oh, I need a curling eye. I need a straightening art. I need like certain things.
Starting point is 00:53:46 They didn't borrow that blush. And you guys are going to do it. You guys are nicer like that. Yeah. Like we don't do stuff like that. Do you know what eye curl her? Yeah, I do actually. Did you need it back?
Starting point is 00:53:58 Somebody like, hey Vic, they didn't borrow a hat. Yeah. Yeah. All right. We got Sophia from Ontario. What's up, Sophia? Good morning. Morning.
Starting point is 00:54:06 Morning. Mama's see that we're talking about like these lending situations because our guy Kane hit us up. Him and his wife, they have a friend. They know her. They like her. She's amazing. But she keeps asking.
Starting point is 00:54:16 asking them for money but not paying the money back okay um i think she asked in january didn't pay it then asked again in march they gave her more money she ended up paying the march one back but still owes the january now she's coming back around to ask for more money and kane is like we're not lending her any more money you know we love her she's a great friend but we have to stop right they're wondering should they even start asking her for the january money back already or like in whatever universe they should just forget about it First, she's cut off because now she's taken away from my family. And if she's a real friend, she shouldn't be consistently asking for money like that.
Starting point is 00:54:57 I had a similar experience, but I was a lot younger, and it was actually a male friend asking me for money to this big sob story. It was my first job. I was living at home. I gave him pretty much my whole check. Wow. What? What? Right?
Starting point is 00:55:16 He won. I know. I know. But because it was, he gave me a story. He was pretty much he was trying to plan a party for his girlfriend. And it was a surprise party. And he was on hard times. He wanted to do something real special for her.
Starting point is 00:55:30 He was going to peeve me back. So he even came to my work and took me to the ATM and we got the money out. Oh, wow. That's a mess. Did he give you anything? What did you get out of it? Did he make you feel special at all? Yeah, what happened?
Starting point is 00:55:45 What were you thinking? They were my friends. Both of them. So, I mean, it wasn't any, it was purely because I wanted him, I wanted my friend to have a good party. So, like, I was like, okay, let's do it. So, you know, he said, he said, he's going to pay me back. He didn't pay me back. At the end of the day, I was never paid back.
Starting point is 00:56:04 But I learned my lesson. If I was going to give me out, I was, you know, like, it's pretty much if I lost it, if I never got it back, you know, what was more important, the friendship or the money? Yeah. So for me, it was a friendship, but he's never come to me for money. We've never, it's just under the rug. Like, it is what it is. How much money?
Starting point is 00:56:24 How much money? How much money? I mean, how much money? I was like 17, 18, so it wasn't that much money. It was probably like 300. Okay. Let's add inflammation on that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:37 Oh, yeah. Six. Six hundred. Yeah. That's true. Inflammation. How much were you earning at that time? What was the minimum wage at that time?
Starting point is 00:56:44 Yeah. What year was it? It's probably like 2008. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. That was a grand. That's like $7,800. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:54 That's a grand right now. It's probably biweekly, byweekly. But I don't lend money out unless I'm okay with not getting it down. So to you, it was like I'm investing in my friendship because he's a great friend. You still kept him as a friend. He never asked for money from you again. But like, you never got your money. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:57:14 I never got my money. Was the party late? No, I was going to ask. How was the party? Was it a good party at least? How was your party? How's the party funded? Was it a jungle juice bomb?
Starting point is 00:57:24 Was it fine? I paid for that. Yeah. It was 2008, dog. It was a late part. Yeah. They played a lot of LMAO. Were you even invited?
Starting point is 00:57:35 Yeah, I was part. They were party rocking. I clearly invited to she was a promoter. Yeah. They were, yeah, they were. Shot, shot, shot, shot, shot, shot. I paid for that. shots on her.
Starting point is 00:57:47 It was the fist pumping era too. Yeah, the jumbling arrow. Come on, you're right. Your pockets, too. Hey, I pay for all this. Here comes Sophia. All right, Sophia. All right, Sophia.
Starting point is 00:58:08 We appreciate you. Thanks, Sophia. You know what I always think about? You know what, though? It was the one time. Okay, I read this book called The Alchemist, right? Yeah. After Killani talked about it.
Starting point is 00:58:17 And she was talking to me like I knew the book, and I pretended like I did, and I didn't. And then I'm like, let me go read Alchemist. So in the Alchemist, there's like a wise word that, a wise saying that these folks keep saying, it's like, if it happens once, it will never happen again. If it happens twice, it's going to happen a third time. So it happened once only and then never happened again. However, if it happens twice, that's a pattern. It's going to repeat itself and again and again and again.
Starting point is 00:58:47 Didn't Jay Cole say like, what we once, play one? Yeah, that was George Bush. Yeah, that was George Bush. And George was got to rhyme. But okay. Oh, yeah, no, I was just going to say, like, whenever you think about, like, lending a friend money, you got to think that there's these things called banks, and they have, like, trillions of dollars. And they won't give that person a $500 credit card. So what do I have to give $500?
Starting point is 00:59:10 Giving them any money like that and expect to be paid back. Human, empathy, compassion. A friend. No, but I'm saying, like, that, like, they have trillions of dollars and they won't give them many. I don't have trillions of dollars. So you won't let your friends borrow money. at all? No, I'll give it to him. How much? Which your limit?
Starting point is 00:59:25 He's going to add interest. Oh, you are that type. No, no, no. I don't know. A couple hundred. You can have it. Oh. Power! You can just have it. I'm not going to like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:59:37 You need it. I do need it. I don't need it. But I'm not going to give you a lot of money. All right, you guys, hold on. Let me interrupt home the helpline for Irene, our phone screener to get this off. Okay. What's up?
Starting point is 00:59:50 What's up, Alexa? Hi. Hi, Alexa. What's going on? Nothing. I just wanted to do a shout out for Greg because she's the only Padre fan and we beat you guys. Yeah. All the Padre fans out there.
Starting point is 01:00:08 I love all kids, but I'm going to just tell you right now this is going to especially feel good right now. Did you just hang up on? Alexa. Oh, I was going to say congratulations. Yeah. Oh, she's not there. You hung up on Alexa? I didn't.
Starting point is 01:00:21 No. Irene, can you please stop this ulterior agenda? We get it. We get it? You love Greg. Bring in the brooms. Bring in the brooms. Hey, there's San Diego radio station that's ready to have Greg and Irene, please. Bring in the brooms.
Starting point is 01:00:32 You know Irene is secretly from San Diego, right? No, I know she's from San Diego. I thought she was. We're on to you. Yeah, we're on to Irene. Shout out, Adrian. Hey, that ruined it for all the kids. Shoutouts during Homi Helpline.
Starting point is 01:00:44 Shout out. All right. Yeah, shout out Alexa. We appreciate you. And Oceanside for checking in. Oh, actually. Oceanside's cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:49 Very nice. Padres though? Not so much. Woo! Big Tino. Yes. What's up? What's up,
Starting point is 01:00:56 Patino? Right here at work, you know, I hear you guys every morning at work. What do you do for work? Because I work. All right, Big Tino, has a job.
Starting point is 01:01:04 Big Tino, where you work? We work too, Tino? I work for, I work for Al-A to Parmao, Water and Power. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:01:11 And we work for Power 106. That's right. We have no one right now. Nah, not like I'm on the water side. Let's go. Let's go. All right.
Starting point is 01:01:22 Big Tino, talk to us. Look at it up. Where did you get your name from? Like your cool nickname. Yeah, Tino. Big Tino. Antonio.
Starting point is 01:01:30 While Latino is short, you know, for my full name, which is, you know, the Valentino. Valentino. Hey. Big Tino. Sounds like a ladies man. Yeah. Valentino.
Starting point is 01:01:40 Do they call you Big Tino? Oh, Big Tina. You're so strong. You know what? You know what's funny. I actually hate being called, you know, my, that full name. Why? You know, you know, probably can't call Tino.
Starting point is 01:01:53 I don't know. It's just like something that I always had since I was a kid. Yeah. I mean, you know. Yeah, let's too. You know, so. We've had our names when since we're kids. That's right.
Starting point is 01:02:08 Where'd you get the big Tino from? Well, I'm going to walk down because I'm a big boy. I'm soft. Big Tino. It's a big teddy bear. You sound amazing. All right. Big Tino, talk to us.
Starting point is 01:02:21 What would you do in the situation where can, is hitting us up about their homegirl that owes them money, him and his wife, she owes them money. And she kind of takes money, then gives a little bit back, but she still owes them so much. And he's like, I need to stop giving her money. Also, we need to ask for the money that she owes back. Well, first or foremost, ask that money back, you know, because obviously the home girl already has a jacket of not paying the people back. And, you know, ask for the money back.
Starting point is 01:02:52 and then if he doesn't want to pay up, you know, like, cut it off. You know, you know, like, this is what it is. Like, for example, I had a home boy who asked me for a thousand bucks, you know, and then just out of a good space, you know, I, like, shot it from. So I made, dog, so, you know, you pay your payments, you know what? It's all good, you know. Like, you know, like, I don't want to put that burden on you. And then came pay there, I asked him, hey, what's up, dog, you know, like, you got the
Starting point is 01:03:22 hundred, you know, like, you know, like, whatever you can. He's like, oh, you know what? I can't, blah, blah, blah, you know, just excuse me. Yeah. Blase, blah, blah. You know, so after a while, you know, I, I know, I noticed you're trying, you know, or the duck and dodge me. So finally, I'm like, I told me, hey, you know what, bro?
Starting point is 01:03:38 I'll tell you what, if you want to throw away 10 years of friendship, cool. But by telling me, you know what, I keep the money, because I always see, like, you need it more than me. Wow. And I, I love that. Yeah. Reverse psychology. And I like that you put it on him
Starting point is 01:03:56 because he could say, like, for you asking him, what, you want to throw away the friendship? Because you keep asking. He's like, no, you're doing it. Right. You'll, me. You're doing. That's a whole thousand dollars, bro.
Starting point is 01:04:05 Yeah, that's a lot. That's a lot. Did he ever try to reach out back to? Yeah, but yeah, you know what? Yeah, like a thousand bucks, you know, like a lot of money. Like, especially now, you know, when things ain't any more, gas ain't cheap, like grocery and cheese, you know? Water and power ain't cheap?
Starting point is 01:04:19 That's right. You know, my barber ain't cheap? you know but uh you know but uh i was like you know like screwed you know like it's what is yeah not gonna lie i would never want to owe you money big teeno yeah it looks like you're gonna get that money back yeah you want to throw this word yeah that's my money that you need more to me all right big tino thank you so much for you know oh no hey but hey but hey but you know what so like i you know like give a uh shout out to my to my uh girl andrea she's the one like put me up like up on game.
Starting point is 01:04:50 Hey. You want to you guys? Smart woman. With us? With Brownback? Yeah. Let's go. Wow.
Starting point is 01:04:57 And actually what? If you actually know Greg from, I think from San Ana. San Ana. Great. How does Andrea know you? You don't want to mess with Big Tino. What I think is if you guys, you know, I remember, she did a birthday like that shot for me in December for my 30.
Starting point is 01:05:18 Oh, I totally remember. Remember when Andrea said, hey, shout out Big Tino his birthday. Yeah, remember. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Happy birthday. Appreciate it. Happy birthday.
Starting point is 01:05:29 Yeah. Like last year. Yeah. He's really nervous, Big Tino just saying, oh, he's real nervous. Yeah. He looks like he owes you $1,000. Yeah. He's got a friend right now.
Starting point is 01:05:39 Like, I'll find you. Oh. Oh. Hey, catch me at the next victory outreach. Maximo. On this national girlfriend's day, Thank you so much for giving me, Angie and Ramona, paper roses. You're welcome.
Starting point is 01:05:55 This is so beautiful. Yeah, they are. He told me he learned how he was in jail. And National Girlfriend's Day is not for your girlfriend. It's for your friends that are girls. Right. Your home girls. Yes.
Starting point is 01:06:06 We're home girls. Get it right. Damn. I'm your home girls. But if your girlfriend wants love today, too, give her love today, okay? Because every day should be girlfriend day. Give her that. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:13 How you know? I hope Ms. Haltenhoff gets real roses. worry about it. That's funny. Don't worry about who, Daddy. Me and me. All right. What would the Olympics be without some drama?
Starting point is 01:06:38 Oh, there's drama at the Olympics? Yeah, let's go. This time is with Simone Biles. And her ex-teammate, Michaela, because Michaela was called like last a month in July, the beginning of the month. Michaela used to be Team USA Gymnastics, too. And they've won medals together.
Starting point is 01:06:53 Yeah. They played together. before but Michaela was she went on her YouTube channel and she starts throwing shade at the current gymnastics team right now right and she's calling the girls like lazy except Simone Biles listen besides Simone I feel like the talent in the depth just isn't like what it used to be I mean obviously a lot of girls don't work as hard the girls just don't have the work ethic like you know Russia's not going to be there so they don't have to have the stress for Russia and then what other teams really are there this girl
Starting point is 01:07:24 This girl. So she makes that comment, right? Like in the beginning of the month, like I said, in July. But then, if you guys haven't heard, this week, the woman's gymnastics, they took the gold medal. Yeah. Congrats. Yeah. Wait, so you're telling me that the girl on her couch was saying that the other girls are lazy?
Starting point is 01:07:40 Pretty much. Well, what I would say is probably like in sports commentary when an ex-player turned into a commentator. Yeah. Like if anyone could give that insight, it would be somebody. Yeah, no, she is retired and she's like an influencer and things like that. Yeah, she's no watching. Yeah, she also had a gold medal. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:57 She did. So then Simone, she claps back at her. She poses a picture of, like, the team USA that they just won with the caption saying, lack of talent, lazy Olympic champions. Damn. Yeah. You said. She heard what you said, Michaela.
Starting point is 01:08:11 Wow. Yeah. But then because of that, Simone got, she got blocked by Michaela. Oh. How do we know Michaela blocked her? Because she tried to look at her profile and they, like, took a picture of her. And, uh, McKay. Simone she was blocked and she even tweeted
Starting point is 01:08:26 they're saying like, well, no one blocked. Wow. Well, Simone, you knew too. Like, you know what you were doing. It's like, girl and girl like. I love Simone for like sticking up for her teammates. Right. Because at the end of the day, it wasn't about Simone.
Starting point is 01:08:37 Yeah. No, it was. She literally excluded her, but that's kind of like divide and conquer sometimes. Right. It's like, no, it's the OG hating on the new school. The new school. It's literally like, when I hear that,
Starting point is 01:08:47 I hear all the old like old basketball players be like, in my day, used to be able to hit. Yeah. And they're lazy now and they don't even work as hard. And they're just lucky so-and-so's out the game because I know when she was saying they don't have to worry about Russia I didn't even know Russia was crazy threat like that
Starting point is 01:09:00 but that's also not my league not my game right here like that so she's kind of reading it like a sports analyst right you know what I'm saying and I mean that's technically her job yeah but you don't always have to throw shade and that's the people I think it's a new era
Starting point is 01:09:15 she's probably shown hella love all this time and this is the one that we pick oh no yeah and because of that like the feedback that she's been getting on like the backlash and now's Michaela, she deleted that video. So you cannot find it on her YouTube anymore.
Starting point is 01:09:28 Well, yeah, she looks dumb now that they're one. That's why Simone was just like, no, what she can come back and say is like, well, yeah, I told you guys, now that Rush is not there, you guys, don't have to work as hard to go and go. Or she was, you know, the drama, yeah. She was using reverse psychology and trying to pump them up for her country. So you're welcome. Being patriotic.
Starting point is 01:09:46 She's like, I knew this. She showed them a YouTube video and said, see, guys, it worked. I told you, Kayote. That's her only. That's her only move now. That's her only move now. What do a hater analysts say when, like, they've made a comment. I'm sure you guys know more of it better than I do, right?
Starting point is 01:10:01 Because I'm not just a girl. But when sports analysts say something about a certain player, I know it's like big that that one full Skip Bayliss hates on LeBron, right? And then they end up winning. What is the haters respond? Like, what's the analyst? And granted, Skip Baylis was not like a player. A player?
Starting point is 01:10:17 But then let's take it to like Shaq and all. And the, what's that? Is that first take? No, it's the TNT. TNT. But it's just called TNT? Inside the NBA. Okay, so that panel who are full of ex-players.
Starting point is 01:10:31 Yeah, it depends. You know, somebody like Skip Bayliss, who was a generational hater, he'll double down. And he'll be like, oh, well, he only won because of this. Yeah, he'll double down. Yeah, for sure. But that's like his brand. But then there's other people that are, like, more sensible. Like, you know what?
Starting point is 01:10:44 I got to give it up. I got it wrong. He shut me up. Yeah. He shut all the haters up. Like, he did the damn thing. That-da-da-da. You know, so it just kind of depends what side you've always.
Starting point is 01:10:53 You know, and how they're feeling that day. McKayla, those are your two options. Go skip this route with it, double down. Or go the more sensible route. Like, hey, you know, you got me. There's a third option. You can be delusional and be like, they're like that because of me. I inspire.
Starting point is 01:11:08 Is there like Paul Pierce? Yes. Paul Pierce. Paul Pierce. He's like, I took Lebron to the next level. Because of the way that I was talking to me? Yeah, he's like, he's like, I raised his game because he had to beat me. And then after that, he was the greatest.
Starting point is 01:11:21 Wow. That's what I'm saying? Okay, Michaela, three options. But she's taking it the wrong way then. She's blocking Simone and she's deleting the video. Well, it's loki, too. Like, people go after, okay, like for sports, there's like that, I guess,
Starting point is 01:11:35 expected trash talk between fans, between, and loki, like, dudes are really good at trash talk. They are. And staying in on business. This girl's probably getting so much hate in that she's never received in her life. Oh, for sure. For giving a comment from an analytical standpoint, right? but she probably can't take that right now.
Starting point is 01:11:54 Yeah, she's also too much. Simone is like the beloved gymnast. Yeah. Well, deservedly so. Deservedly so. Yeah. So it's like going against her in this current moment. Anything you say is going to go bad.
Starting point is 01:12:07 You are going against her if she posts against you. Like now you're up. Oh, yeah. Now you're her up. Yeah. So it's a different type of thing. But yeah, start first take of gymnastics. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:17 Right? Right. Yeah, there's a market for that. First beam or something. Yeah. If you're going to be a hater, become the best hater. That part, yes. Somersall into this, okay?
Starting point is 01:12:25 SummerSall into it. Get a gold medal in hating. Yeah. All right, that's it for Sombras. I love. I'm Angie from Brownback Mornings on Power 106. Speaking of Olympics, you guys, it's town for our Brownback Olympics. Oh.

Starting point is 01:14:20 USA. USA! USA! USA! USA! Ah! Is that your eagle? That's my eagle.
Starting point is 01:14:27 That's your eagle? Okay. So far, USA has one gold medal. El Salvador has a gold and a silver. Yes. Mexico has a bronze and a silver. I got two. And Spain only has a bronze.
Starting point is 01:14:43 Lizard. Okay. You guys want to know what game we are flipping this morning for our brown bag Olympics. What game are you guys ready? Let's go. Let's do it. Let's do it. Do it.
Starting point is 01:14:55 We are flipping cricket. What? We are flipping cricket and I have a full zip-clog bag of crickets in my hand right now from Milino, Wajaka. It's a restaurant in Baldwin Park. That's our Wahakian listeners. I know you eat this as a treat. This is delicious. My girl Liz came in here.
Starting point is 01:15:16 It's like they're really good. But we will see. That is creepy. This is right. Right. I mean, respectfully. That is creepy. Respectfully, respect.
Starting point is 01:15:26 But, like, we eat strange things, too. And El Salvador, are they, like, no, no. No. No. No. Don't they eat iguana and turtle? Don't lie. At least their eggs.
Starting point is 01:15:34 Don't like her. Don't like food. All of a sudden. Peruvians. I see what you do with the freaking guinea pigs. Peruvians, okay? Yeah. My sister had one.
Starting point is 01:15:42 My sister had one. But right here, right now, we have a bag full of precuits. Oh, my gosh. That's crazy. It feels weird. And we are going to have a race off. All right. Do you guys want to do them
Starting point is 01:15:53 as in a cup or do you guys want to have them on a play in front of you? Lay them out. Lay them out. I want to see my snack. I want to meet you guys. 10 crickets each. What? Ten crickets. You said,
Starting point is 01:16:06 but look how many we have in here. Whoever can eat the 10 crickets the fastest. Oh my God. Win the Brown Bag Olympics, okay? Okay. We need one more song to get this ready and all together.
Starting point is 01:16:22 Okay. And we also need a call around the line to pick someone from each country, okay? Pick, choose your player. Do you want USA to win? USA! USA! Do you want El Salvador to win? Brian.
Starting point is 01:16:34 Do you want Mexico to win? Live Mexico. Do you want Spain to win? Spain! Okay? Keep it here. It's 5106. 9106, Brownback Morning.
Starting point is 01:16:43 It's a brown bag Olympics, 2024. Representing for the country of USA, we have Greg C. Representing for the country of El Salvador, we have Maximo. Brian. Representing for the country. of Mexico Linde Carido. We have, Angelica. Angie, by the way, the Mexican community told me you got to step it up.
Starting point is 01:16:58 I know, I know. All right. Representing Espania. Spain. Where it all started. Ooh, they smell funky. You're all welcome. You're all welcome.
Starting point is 01:17:05 Is Victor. Okay. We have in front of us a plate or cup. Vic is going cup with it. I need a track. Of 10 crickets each. 10 crickets each. Angie, you have 10 crickets on your plate.
Starting point is 01:17:18 Maximal 10 crickets. You're putting it in a cup. Greg, 10 crickets. All right. Once you finish these 10 crickets, you have to open your mouth, show me there's nothing there. And raise your hand, okay? All right. The person to eat these 10 crickets.
Starting point is 01:17:30 And shout out to our Wahakian community, we know for you, it's nothing. It's easy. And we're just being babies. We're being wussies, okay? We could never, okay. Oh, my heart is going, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Are you guys ready? Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:42 All right. All right. Okay. Ready. One one else. Make set. Go eat. And they're off.
Starting point is 01:17:50 And they're off. And they're off. Maximo is chewing. Vick is chewing from the cup. Angie is getting from the plate. Greg is going one by one on the plate. No throwing up, Vick. That was Vic.
Starting point is 01:18:00 That's Hispania. There's not even a trash can under there, Vic. Maximo is eating. Otrado. Drink, but hurry. It looks like Maximo's about to win. No, you have to open your mouth quick. Angie.
Starting point is 01:18:14 Maximo! Angie still had body parts. Angie came in second. Angie came in second. Vic is throwing up. Greg, where are you at? Greg still chew it. Swallow it, Greg. Swallow it, Greg. Swallow it, swallow it.
Starting point is 01:18:27 Greg, just spit it all out. Greg, hot to it. That's spicy. Vick, you do. Vic, what happened? Why are you crying? I was crying. I did it for you.
Starting point is 01:18:39 I was trying. I did it for my people. I did it for my people. Flash before my... I thought La Vich. La Vicha. Angie, I thought I was just gonna swallow. When you open your mouth, Angie, Angie, there was a lot.
Starting point is 01:18:50 Angie, there was a lot of body parts on your tongue. Yeah, but it wasn't clean. But by that time, he opened his mouth and there was no body parts on his tongue. Unless you guys want to do a tiebreaker. No. For number one? Yes. All right.
Starting point is 01:19:04 Keep it here. We're going to do a tightbreaker for number one right here. Power 106. That's right. Whoa. Hold on. Brownback Olympics, you guys, right here on Power 106. L.A's number one for shenanigans.
Starting point is 01:19:19 Yes. So we just completed our cricket games. They had that in the Olympics. We had to eat some crickets right here in studio, okay? It was between the good old USA, El Salvador, Mexico, and Spain. Spain's real quiet right now. Spain was crying before a commercial break. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:38 So here's what ended up happening. I feel my country without an S. Pain. Pain? You're from Spain, but the S is silent? Yes. Both Spain and America Got disqualified
Starting point is 01:19:55 I didn't cry though You didn't cry, you spit You didn't cry, you spit USA, I almost died I could have died live on air Tell us what your strategy was Spain Okay, so I wanted You guys don't understand how bad I wanted to win
Starting point is 01:20:11 Yeah yesterday he took a really bad loss Like yesterday I felt like I was cheated You know what I'm saying? Politics, you know USA, okay, you know we get it But yeah, so I really wanted to win So I was like, no matter what, I'm gonna win Yeah, I don't care how crickets tastes, I don't care
Starting point is 01:20:27 I don't care, I was way past that I was like, I'm just, I need to just put these down As fast as possible, right? So then we have a plate and then we have a cup And I was like, what's faster? What's more efficient? A cup? So I throw all the crickets in a cup Yes, and then I'm like, okay, ten crickets. Ten crickets. And then I'm like, okay, I'm gonna just like swing them down
Starting point is 01:20:45 Like it's like whatever. Like a pill like, yeah, just like, you know what I'm saying? I should have probably done like maybe one at a time A couple of times Maybe probably Whatever I didn't want to chew I think it's just you know fast
Starting point is 01:20:56 Yeah like a pill like a little You swallow a whole cricket Yeah Yeah that was my strategy Back of the throat I mean I don't have a lot of cricket experience You know what I'm saying But when I did that
Starting point is 01:21:08 I didn't like really think about it He didn't account for the cricket legs Yes that's probably what it was Because they're the like if they turn into wings in the water They're just swimming because they're poking at his little throat. So I throw, like, I throw some water in my mouth, and then I throw the crickets,
Starting point is 01:21:23 and then I'm just like, oh, I'm just going to swallow these, like, easy. And then they got stuck in my throat, the crickets. And then I'm like, I'm like, oh, okay, just power through. Just do it. Like, just do it. Like, it just goes to me. Who cares me? Yeah, like, it just feels like, you know, but just power through.
Starting point is 01:21:35 Yeah. But then, no, it literally got stuck. And then I'm like, oh, I can't breathe now. And then I'm just like, oh, wait. And then, like, everybody's, like, preoccupied with their own thing. Yeah. Like, one more. Go, go, go.
Starting point is 01:21:47 And I'm like, and everybody's just laughing because they think it's funny but I'm actually dying. Honestly, I don't even know it. And I'm just like, like, it's just being dramatic. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:00 And I'm actually about to die. And you can hear my voice. Like my throat. Yeah, and he's crying his tears around and it's really bad out here. Yeah, and then they're talking about like, oh yeah, like you got fourth place. Oh, you think?
Starting point is 01:22:14 Fourth place, I'm glad it's still. be here. Okay? I could have been dead. I could have been dead. I could have been dead. I would have died live on that right life on power of six brown back morning.
Starting point is 01:22:24 You would have made history. All right. Think about that next time. Victor was on live. He was like on Instagram live. And what did someone tell you? And then you like curse him out, which is not nice to do. What was the comment?
Starting point is 01:22:37 What did they say? They said something Haktua or something. Oh yeah. They said Vic Hocktua. That's why he's choking. Real funny. If I knew how to Haktua, I wouldn't be choking.
Starting point is 01:22:47 Spree. Spend that. Yeah. You probably needed to spin. Greg on the other hand, USA was just like, ew, crickets. I couldn't even grab the
Starting point is 01:22:56 cricket. I was dropping it because I'm so, I hate insects. I do not like insects at all. And I didn't want to eat it. You cost that for your country. Put it in my mouth and I almost threw up. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:23:04 You put wearing your mouth. I didn't even care about that. Like, I just wanted to win. Yeah. By any means. I didn't, I threw a plastic. I wanted to go to Eileen, who was rooting for you, but she hung up at how disappointed that she is.
Starting point is 01:23:14 Dang. Oh. You're rooting for you. I feel like I should get third place for almost dying. Because, like, he's just doing it because he's afraid. Yeah, but I'm afraid of nothing. A lot of people almost die. I don't know if we're just going to award them.
Starting point is 01:23:25 Eat five crickets right now. I didn't throw up until after. Eat five cookies right now. How about this? If you even eat one cricket, I will give you bronze, brother. All right, let's do it. Just one cricket. I'm not getting it from the floor.
Starting point is 01:23:35 I'm not getting it from the floor. I know, Mexico. All right, way to kick me while I'm down, Mexico. You kicked us. Yeah, that's what I get for giving you language? Stop. Stop. Because you also gave them disease.
Starting point is 01:23:47 You also gave Mexico disease. Yeah, the son survived. And you did many, many things to our women. Shout out to our girl, Liz. They liked it. From Milindo, Wahaka in Baldwin Park. Liz, you're Wahawking, and to us, you're looking at us like we're a bunch of wussies, right? Talk right here.
Starting point is 01:24:01 Talk right here. Where's my middle? Where are you, baby? To me, it's nothing. Okay, to you, how do you eat these crickets? Right here, right here. Like chips? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:11 Like chips. Like a little peanut. What you see these foods growing up and all that, how do you feel? like this is my tradition yeah this is what we all eat yeah we're not real Mexican huh I hope I didn't win you by throwing up yeah because it wasn't because I didn't like it because it actually tastes it good yeah you know what a lot of people that go to the
Starting point is 01:24:27 restaurant they want to try it for the first time and you know like it's like a half and half a reaction yeah yeah don't love it some hate it do they try 10 of them at one time or is it just one of one at a time oh okay like you do not swallow these because they have legs the legs I knew I knew these legs will be a problem when I woke up this morning It's funny because after we were all finished And you're almost dying, crying
Starting point is 01:24:49 And then we're battling over first place We did an instant we play for Angie and Maximo Liz is like So did you guys guess the flavor? Did you guys taste the flavor? What's the flavor of the crickets? The crickets are salimony chili Oh, that spice.
Starting point is 01:25:06 That spice is a lot of it. The spice taste like near death to me here. Thank you Liz. Thank you Liz. Okay, so if you eat just one cricket, Vic Yeah, I'll give you bronze. I get, where's the medal? Okay, it's right here. Hold on, let me give you, let me give you your Spain.
Starting point is 01:25:21 Yeah. Go ahead. This is a redemption story. Okay, this is like making it back from near death to conquer your fears. Just like Enrique Iglesiasia's wood. Paila. He's your hero. Let's see you eat it, brother.
Starting point is 01:25:38 No legs, though. Hactua. Okay. Not bad. No, swalik solos. Hold on. Be careful with the water. Be cautious.
Starting point is 01:25:46 Hold on, hold on. All you gotta do is follow one. These are kind of gas. Yeah. Hold on. All right, all right. Keep chewing. Chewing.
Starting point is 01:25:54 Victor. He's faking it. He's faking it. That's how long we're supposed. Yeah. Then no legs are going down your throat. He's traumatized. Ah.
Starting point is 01:26:03 Let's go. Yeah. Fania. Let's go. Bring me my medal. Let's go. Bring me my metal. Bring me my medal.
Starting point is 01:26:14 Take that bronze medal, brother. You know what I did for this? For my country, I would die. All right. You almost did. Now we are down to two, Mexico and El Salvador. There was a little bit of a... No, but I'm going to be that you're going to be.
Starting point is 01:26:30 There was a challenge on the play. There was a challenge on the play. Mexico wanted a challenge that she may have one at the same time as El Salvador. No, it was a penal. Yeah. All I got to say. Wow. No, they're doing that to me again.
Starting point is 01:26:44 Can Team America get a translation again, please? Yeah. It wasn't Pinell. No, it wasn't a foul? Penalty, yeah. It wasn't a Pinal. Thank you. Thank you for that.
Starting point is 01:26:53 Okay. We went to the instant replay. Our guy Jose on the instant replay, who also happens to be Mexican, so you can't say that it's biased. Jose, what happened on the instant replay? Can you please tell us? Reviewing the play right now, and it looks like Maximo got... Team El Salvador. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 01:27:11 Took away the win. Wow. Hey! Team El Salvador North. Oh, I lost by one second. You did. While he was opening his mouth to show us, there's nothing there, you were still drinking water, Angie, so it was not at the same time.
Starting point is 01:27:27 Can I just say I am wearing retainers, so it does take me a little bit longer to be too? Angie, you cannot do your handicap. You already did the woman card. You already did the handicard. Can I not have surgery literally last Friday? You did, I did. In my number, wait. Do you guys want me to show you my gum?
Starting point is 01:27:42 No, me la bich. Please. It has stitched. Chis. That's all I'm going to say. You're doing what they say as girls do. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:48 Completing. I'm saying the truth. Angie gets silver. Let's make some nice for Angie getting silver. Who is not a winner? That's what they're talking. All right, but you know who is a winner? Who do we got going from Maximo?
Starting point is 01:27:59 Daisy from Bull Heights. Daisy. Oh, Ella, Daisy. Hey, what's up? What's up, Daisy? Daisy, you're going to go to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. Thank you, Maximo. I knew you could do it.
Starting point is 01:28:13 Daisy, Daisy, are you Salvi? Your selfie. Daisy, tell him thank you in Selvie. Talk to him in Selvie. Grazie, let's go. Brown bag. It's Brown bag on Power 106. Number one for hip-hop.
