Starting point is 00:00:00 Before the podcast starts, make sure you like, subscribe to the channel, leave a review, and send the link to a friend while you're at it. The more brown back, the better. Come on. What's up? This is Be Real from Cyprus Hill. Where are you from, Esse? Don't you know I'm local? Another hard day to wake up to my friends, and it seems like we should not foresee a future where it stops. I know we've all been paid glued to the screen, glued to our phones, glued to the TV and all of that. trying to understand kind of what we're looking at when it comes to the ice raids, the protests that follow, and everything else that happens because of what they're calling
Starting point is 00:00:39 this manufactured chaos. You know, I go back to this interview that I saw on CNN from Congresswoman, her name, hold on, from Congresswoman Nanette Baraghan, she represents the city of Paramount, and she spoke about how they told them they need to figure out and prepare for at least 30 days of what's going on. What are you hearing about the National Guard, about how long they'll be there, where they will be deployed?
Starting point is 00:01:08 So we've been told to get ready for 30 days of enforcement, 30 days of ICE enforcement. So 2,000 troops to be there for that enforcement, it's a concern. I mean, it's going to escalate the situation. People are going to protest because they're angry about the situation, and we have to just reiterate to people to do it peacefully.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Man, I don't know if there's going to be peaceful for 30 days I don't think so. We've seen the first couple of days how it's been going down. Like I know there was like even marches and stuff like that in Santa Ana and Whittier, right, Greg? Yesterday. Yeah, just yesterday. So I'm like, dude, this is going to get bigger and bigger. And the videos are getting worse and worse.
Starting point is 00:01:45 They're not getting, it's not like showing that it's going to get more peaceful. Yeah. And so 30 days. I think we're down four Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Dude, that's at least four. So we got like 26. days left of this. You know, I was watching also an interview with our mayor Karen Bass. And something interesting that popped out to me was that she mentioned that on Thursday, before all of this
Starting point is 00:02:07 happened, she tried to make a case for it not to happen. Check this out. Dial back time to Thursday. None of this needed to happen. Why did we need to have raids here? It was very clear that if raids happened here, that the community was going to respond in a very negative way. I tried to make that case. Unfortunately, I didn't succeed. Yeah, what? It's true. And then the interviewer like kind of doubles back and is like, you said Thursday. Did you mean Friday? She's like, no, I meant Thursday.
Starting point is 00:02:35 Oh, she did say Thursday, team. We've spoken about it how Governor Gavin Newsome may have gotten on the phone with Donald Trump. And even though the back and forth is happening online, they seem to have such a pretty amicable conversation about what's going on. We spoke about that yesterday. And I guess just understanding there was some type of heads up, we also know sometimes people learn things and they can't say something. Yeah. You know? Yeah,
Starting point is 00:02:58 especially at that height. Sometimes it's the heads that can say something. But learning about this just kind of makes me feel like, I wish, I wish you guys were like, hey,
Starting point is 00:03:06 they're not taking you guys into consideration as far as like the stuff that's happening and they're routing certain things and they're kind of steamrolling into California with these raids. Let us at least give you a heads up.
Starting point is 00:03:19 Yeah. You would think. Yeah. So I'm assuming that the heads up, I guess, right now is prepare for 30 days of this. This isn't something that's just over the weekend or just.
Starting point is 00:03:27 like a Friday thing clearly we saw it go into the weekend started it again on Monday and just like the I guess the processes are not going to stop I also know the protests are not going to stop yeah that can can lead to unlawful assemblies that can lead to what they're calling rights and looting and all of that you know that's not going away so how do you prepare in this time like this what is the preparation of 30 days how will you tell a family hey just bunker down for 30 30 days. Yeah. It's easy to tell someone like, yeah, just hide, but it's like for how long? Like even like if you don't go to work because you're scared for like a day or two, it's like, okay, yeah, but now you have 30 days. It's like, what are you going to be doing for the next 28 days ago?
Starting point is 00:04:09 I tell people to be prayer for an earthquake, like you don't know where it's going to hit. Yeah. You don't know where this is going to happen. It's the perfect way to put it. So, so in that same interview, they asked Mayor Bass, is this 30 day thing real? It's hard to predict what happens next. We're hearing possibly 30 days of raids. What are you hearing? How does this end? When does this end? So let me just call your attention. Imagine what that means to families.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Imagine how many adults are afraid to go to work because they don't know if they're going to be home to see their children. If that's not changing the subject or if that's not deflecting. And I just wish that in those moments, Karen Bass, Gavin Newsom, in those moments you understood, we need your guidance. We need your leadership. What does prepare for 30 days? me. Yeah. I try to figure it out.
Starting point is 00:04:58 Like, what does that mean for us? You know, a lot of what we're doing on the radio and on social media and within the community is sharing resources, you know, know your rights. Why do I have to learn that from a user, 756 and not my leadership? You know what I'm saying? Like, if you're telling me to truly, truly prepare and that we're cared about. It's this weird feeling that I can't deny and I think that we often are as optimistic as we can be, but if this is four days in, y'all, and we have at least 30 days, and Angie,
Starting point is 00:05:31 you were talking about some type of quota. Yeah, I know you were mentioning yesterday that day that you're like, oh, there must be a quota or something like that. And I googled it. And apparently, yeah, Stefan Miller, who's like the House Deputy Chief of Homeland Security, apparently said that, yeah, their quota is 3,000 people a day that they're trying to get. Yeah, it seems like that number. So that's been like, confirmed how they want to.
Starting point is 00:05:52 It's 90,000 people in a month. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But I guess even, I was watching the numbers too. Again, we're super glued to our screens. I was watching the numbers too. And the number of detainments that happened this weekend.
Starting point is 00:06:05 And it's this weekend as a whole on the nation, right? Yeah. Yeah. Was 1,500. So that's not even meeting the quota. And but look how scary it is. So imagine if they're ramping up a day is wild. And that it's upwards of like 100 or 200% of what happened in Trump's first 100 days.
Starting point is 00:06:22 So you know, when he came in and he was like, hey, we're going to do this, right? Yeah. The 100 days are happening and it's like, bro, is not living up to what he said he was going to do. And now it's like, okay, want to bet. Now he's, yeah. And now there's that type of situation going on.
Starting point is 00:06:36 I can only tell you that whatever prepare for 30 days means in your heart, let that be what you end up doing because driving to work is a trip. It is. Driving on the freeways is a trip. It just looks crazy. It looks wild. It looks like a rodeo. You know, like when they throw the road and trying to get the little calf.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Yes. That's what it looks like. It looks like, it's just like, round. Dude, I feel like I'm watching Born in East LA, like when they're wrangling all the people. It's just, it's insane. Never in a million years that I think I see this in 2025. And not here.
Starting point is 00:07:06 And you know, I can't look at certain videos. You know, I know that the Home Depot's were getting targeted yesterday. A lot. A whole list. And I saw, like, I can see people that look like my dad, look like my thios, look like my cousins, start to run a little bit from ICE officer. and get caught up or like a be a hito and you can't really walk too great and they're chasing after him
Starting point is 00:07:29 i've seen those i can't even watch that anymore and i guess i just don't know what like how much more we're gonna be able to take yeah and not necessarily as before we do but like literally our brains are mental health able to take yeah before we put the phones down or just go numb or get desensitized because this is four days in and the visuals and the pictures that we're seeing you know someone did I do also want to make mention that there are priestful protests happening. However, I know, I believe a lot of media has been kept from them
Starting point is 00:08:01 or detained. Last night they detained some CNN reporters and stuff like that. They've shot at Australian reporters. So understanding that the pictures are also being curated. Yeah. True. The craziest part is that like you'll see it on social media, but then you really
Starting point is 00:08:17 don't see it in person, like in Whittier. Like I was seeing it everywhere. Everybody was sending it to me. Like, oh, I said Woody. racist and Whittier, but then when my mom passed by and sent it to me, it kind of just hit different. I was like, oh, wow, like this is happening right, literally right next to my house down the street. I hear what you're saying. It's almost you're able to disconnect from what you're seeing on the screen. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:37 But when you get a text from your parent or when you get a text from one of your loved ones and it shows what's going on in the city that you grew up in, it changes the whole game. That was honestly me yesterday because even like I was getting videos of like the hospital that my dad was hospitalized during COVID, they were getting rated by the ice. So even seeing those videos on my dude, like, that could have been my family. That could have been my Theo. That could have been my dad. That could have been anyone.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Because it's right there. Yeah. And I'm just thinking, I'm like, why of all places? Why a hospital? It's sad. All right. Well, we definitely are going to do more, talk more, go through more. I will tell you, I guess, as me personally, I can only speak for myself.
Starting point is 00:09:17 I'm having a struggle about how to go about what I want to do. Same. Yeah. And being on here, being on the radio, understanding, again, we have a responsibility to you to keep you informed, to keep you entertained. But it's still something that I'm like tripping about. Like my dad, like, bro, don't go outside. My dad is a permanent resident. But I'm like, I don't know if that's even going to save you or that's even okay.
Starting point is 00:09:41 And like yesterday I went through the motions of like, all right, what are you going to say if you're stopped? I should have to do that to my 74-year-old father. Yeah. You know? And so it's messed up because they're just going to look at him and just assume. Of course. Yeah, that's it. And not just him, us.
Starting point is 00:09:55 Oh, yeah, us, yeah. So I guess I just want to speak loving to you and understanding into you. And for sure, the anxiety you're feeling, we're feeling too. I, I, I, I, we, we don't have the luxury to just pause for the day. We, because it's going to happen for 30 days. Yeah. So I guess as a collective, we just, at least we know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:17 That we have, you know when they first said about COVID, like, hey, you're going to, it's just going to be two weeks. Yeah. So you prepared for the two weeks and then it was longer, you know, at least this one is like, hey, 30 days is that feels like a lifetime to me. It does. And what does prepare me, you know? Does prepare me mean, go to church? Does prepare me, talk to your, what's your exit strategy or your plan or those things? Does prepare me and get extra water?
Starting point is 00:10:42 Because you don't know where it's going to go. Yeah, people have to go to work too. It's not like they just, yeah, they just can't drop whatever they have for 30 days. And just hide, yeah, it's hard. Yeah, it's hard. It's scary. I just know if you guys have Wusa techniques. Look here, I'm going to look up different anxiety techniques because I really, really cannot hide the fact that it's, I can't think.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Yeah. I was telling. It's just in your face. I told Concordy last night, I was like, I went to the gym. Like I had to put my phone down and like went to the gym and just kind of worked out. Hopped in the sauna and just relaxed. I was like, I was like, there's so much going on. Right.
Starting point is 00:11:16 That you needed to. But imagine like we have that luxury that, oh yeah, we can take like that break from social media. Yeah, we can go somewhere. But to someone that, that's the reality, that their dad's not coming back from father's thing. Yeah, it's sad. Yeah, man. I guess I want to just always preface this with, we're going through it, y'all. Yes, we are.
Starting point is 00:11:37 We're going through it together. Here we are. You're not alone. Even though feels like it. Yes. Okay, what's going down, bro? We have. Shutouts.
Starting point is 00:11:46 I got a birthday shout out. Chuckie wants to shout out his son, Tommy for his birthday. Happy birthday. Happy birthday, Tommy. Oh, that's cool. Like the regrets. Wow. Right?
Starting point is 00:11:56 Yeah. Angelica. I'm that old. Oh my God. I'm Angelica. Ah! I just got it. Is it a angelica in there?
Starting point is 00:12:02 Yeah, she's mean. She's a mean one. Oh, yeah. That talks about the side of her mouth. Eat down. Her babies. Yeah. I don't even think about that.
Starting point is 00:12:10 When I come in here and I say, hey, little babies, I think that I'm like, Angelica. Oh, I thought you don't look at. And look you when I. What she's mean. Well, I know. Could it be me, right? Never. Never. Never. Never.
Starting point is 00:12:24 You've got a coffee and me despraised. Much thanks. What are you pointing at? What did you look at? What did you look at right now? Eyes up here, bro. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. All right. We have shout-out. We have more shout-outs.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Yes, we do have shout-outs. Jasmine wants to shout on her little sister, Britt, for completing the Nike half marathon this past Saturday. Let's go. Oh, nice! Did you finish it, Angie? I did. I did. My toenails still hurts. That's why I'm wearing sandals. Your toenails still hurts? Yeah, my left toenail hurts really bad.
Starting point is 00:12:53 I want to shout it. My mouth hurts too. My unya. Hey, yo. My unya hurts. Shout out everybody that did that. Yeah, your toenails are when you run married. Oh, that's what?
Starting point is 00:13:05 How do you say, unya? Oonja. Oh, my. Literally. Angie got runners' feet right now. Yeah, I don't know. Who needs toenails anyway, Angie. Who needs that?
Starting point is 00:13:15 That's exactly what a lot of people were saying in posters. They were saying toenials were overrated. You know what happened when I ran? What? My nipples chafed. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Your nipples chafed. Because it's against the shirt. Oh, maybe. And my nipples are crazy, dog. When did you run? Yeah. It's been a while. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:36 It's been a while. Do don't judge me like that. No, I want to know because Angie just ran on Saturday. I did. I did. Yeah, on Saturday. And it's crazy. Did they know what?
Starting point is 00:13:44 Katsi, kussigua. Wow. Can I get it Google translation? You're still, bro. to soon. Concrete just made an insensitive joke, but you know what we're here. Yeah, we...
Starting point is 00:13:55 Sorry, guys. Say it all. Say it all. At least we're doing it ourselves. We got laugh about. If you kick us out, it's because we're doing what we love. You know, what you want to do?
Starting point is 00:14:05 Funny, no funny. Funny, no funny. Don't know what you want to do. Stick to comedy, bro. Fine, bro. Stick to comedy, bro. You didn't write that. Chat GPT wrote that.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Ah, my name. Okay, go ahead. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on something right now. I don't want to talk about it. Let's move on. Nah,
Starting point is 00:14:22 nah, nah, no, no, no. No, let's get enoched! You're better at that.
Starting point is 00:14:27 You're bad at all enoched. And then I'm going to cry. We're all mad and we want to cry. So yesterday, like later on in the show, Concrete had been wanting to say a speech, right? And speeches are often are written down.
Starting point is 00:14:41 Yeah. Yeah. So you don't forget. And this is his first time really being on the radio. I know he's been a guest on radio stations. I don't know he went over there. But, like, he's been on here as a special guest, and now he's, he's a part of the team. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:54 And he's a big voice. And so he wrote something in preparation. And we posted it on social media and people are going, I think it's upwards of a thousand something comments. No, there's more good than bad. Oh, of course. But the bad is getting to him because he was reading from his laptop as he should to, because he didn't want to mess up. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Yeah, I even checked my grammar and everything. You did. I did a grammar check and everything. Anything. Chat GBT. Check it. Because all I can hear is my girl saying, make sure you write it correctly,
Starting point is 00:15:22 make sure you write it correctly. Because my girl's a writer, she's a reader. Make sure you don't say like. Make sure you don't say like. You know, use your crutch words. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Or um. I wish he told you about the speed of your speech. Well, you know, it's because if it sounds like your videos are set to 2X speed, it's not. It's because I was nervous
Starting point is 00:15:39 because people understand, people don't understand. Like, hey, look, check this out. You're on live on the radio. There's thousands upon thousands of people listening to you Hundreds of thousands over here.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Hundreds of thousands, bro. Yeah. And then this is my first time. So, yeah, I'm going to be a little nervous. I'm sorry, America. I'm sorry, America. So he's been getting comments online, and he really is going through my little guy over here. Oh, dude, let me tell you.
Starting point is 00:16:04 But go leave a comment. Go leave a nice comment. You know what? Start critiquing something else in the video. Like, how about that? Like, add a comment about, I don't know. More is. No, instead of you reading because I'm getting to you.
Starting point is 00:16:14 True, true, true. No, it's not about me. Comment about his hat or his shirt. His chafing nipples. Yeah. Yeah. Are they chaved? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:23 And he was wearing of white tea. I look good, too, man. God, I look good. Oh, Concord. We're doing our shoutouts, though. Oh, yes. And again, I want to make sure that you know that as much as the hard stuff is happening, we can't, I guess, especially this time where Father's Day is coming up.
Starting point is 00:16:42 A lot of graduations are happening. A lot of celebrations and birthdays. I do not want us to lose sight of those. beautiful things in our lives because that is what this moment and time is meant to do. We have to celebrate it. Regardless. We still have to find a way to big up each other. Real quick, before you move on, before you do your shout-outs, Greg.
Starting point is 00:17:00 I want to big up a lot of people that have been reaching out to me and my husband, our homie J-Rock, a lot of our black homies are checking in. Yeah. And they're checking in because they care. And I think that this is important to say because even the narrative like we spoke about yesterday online that, hey, hey, black people stay out of it. You know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:19 I do not believe that is real. When you go to these protests, there's every color out there. Yeah. There's even every lifestyle out there. Two of very marginalized groups, black people and people from the LGBT Kuak community, they're out there protesting for what's going on with us and with our community, too. And I can't but send my love. The white homies are out there.
Starting point is 00:17:41 The Asian homies are out there. The gay homies are out there. Everybody's out there because they all believe what's happening right now to our immigrant community is wrong. Yeah. And a lot of our immigrant community cannot go out there. True.
Starting point is 00:17:52 So I do want to send my appreciation and my love. My gay homies, I know it's your month. Yeah. And loki. And loki, we took it for 30 days supposedly.
Starting point is 00:18:02 I'm so sorry. For 30 days, ICE is supposed to do these raids. You're right. But you're out there on the front lines protesting too. I cannot but share my appreciation. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:11 And the way that you're doing your body role is unnecessary. Yeah. He's twerking right now. We have a lot of unnecessary. Shout out to the homie Narciso. Yeah, but you have Narciso, man. Shout to my sister.
Starting point is 00:18:22 Yeah, everybody. And her wife, R.E. I love it. No, thank you. Again, that cannot not be said. Yeah, no, you're not alone. We're here together. And, in fact, we have a lot of the other communities that get looked at wrong, that get mistreated as well.
Starting point is 00:18:39 They're with us as well. Yeah, they're showing up for us. Right. Now you can do your shout out. Shoutouts? Yes. I'm sorry. No, it's fine. A blind homie out there too, protests.
Starting point is 00:18:49 There probably is. He didn't see the smoke bomb coming on. I was waiting for it. I was waiting for it. I was waiting for it. I was. I thought you meant like the stigmatism, homies,
Starting point is 00:19:03 because I want. Anybody else? Any other homies? No, no, no, no. No, no. No, that's fine. No. No.
Starting point is 00:19:11 No. You give it fun. No. All the homies. to shout out right now. That is showing up for us. Did I say Biggs? Shout on my brother, Jayrock.
Starting point is 00:19:21 He checked in and he told Jorge and us at home, like, whatever we need. Oh, that's beautiful. It's incredible. Wendy wants to shout out her goddaughter Sophia for graduating for fifth grade. All right. Hold on. Say we have graduation shout out. That's all right.
Starting point is 00:19:35 Wendy wants to shout at her goddaughter, Sophia, for graduating from fifth grade. Come on, Sophia. You did that, baby, girl. Peter wants to shout at his boy, Emiliano, who is graduating from kindergarten. Emiliano, get it, boy. That's right. Alejandra wants to shout out her son Giovanni, who's graduating from eighth grade. Go on, Gio, going into high school, strong.
Starting point is 00:19:54 Miki wants to shout out Violeta for graduating from daycare to pre-K. Violeta. Violeta. Violeta. Christina wants to give a graduation to her, a graduate, shout out. What? What? I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:20:13 I'm sorry. What? Why do we have the least qualified person? What? What? I don't know. America, what are you going to say about his reading skills? I'm not, oh, yeah, I don't read from the screen.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Ready, ready, all right. Go ahead. Christina wants to give a graduation shout out to her nephews. Adrian. Amarice. And her niece, Loila. Their first generation graduates from the family. Family.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Ah, no. I apologize for that read. I totally apologize. Loyola, right? Loyola. Are they graduating from Loyola? No, no. Do you sell Ghana because you're butchering it?
Starting point is 00:20:57 That's good. Whatever you're on today, bro? Let's get it. Let's get it. Let's go. Keep going. All right. Dania wants a shout of her daughter,
Starting point is 00:21:07 Emileith, for graduated from eighth grade, and her brother-in-law David, who also graduated from high school. Whatever he cancered then he was at, is what I'm going to be. All right, we got through that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:20 We did. Thank you. Chat GBT to be that, huh? Chat GPT that. See? No, those are your reading skills. Yeah. It could have been different.
Starting point is 00:21:29 Maximil. Sorry. Dang. Kaki could have read like red. And by the way, our guy, Vick, he's celebrating Little Vick's graduation. Big up to Little Vic for graduating.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Congrats. Big up to all my little babies that are graduating. I appreciate. you know that you are our future i hope you can make this uh place a better one than loki is going on right now i pray each of you power i pray each of you strength i pray you're each guided and divine me protected okay on my little babies um thank you usually we go into simper pimp but uh vick's not here with his tattoo so yeah let's go both whatever energy you're on i'm almost magic she's throwing rocks too
Starting point is 00:22:14 He's all a sick one today. They're going to get that guy. I'll talk about it later today. That guy's not meaningful. Lettie's on the America's most want to lose my foot. Piedras. Here's a paper. Read something.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Blow pops. Read the tickets. Is that what we're going? No. I actually have something very important to tell Los Angeles. Go ahead. Let's go. Yeah, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:22:40 And Jimene, you were speaking about this. That within this time that a lot of unrest is happening, people are being opportunists. So be very, very careful. And I think it's important that we tell you. Because I'm not really seeing it on too much of a news media or outlets, but there's scams going on. And they're actual really scary scams.
Starting point is 00:22:57 You know, later, we'll talk to someone that is mentioning about notary scams, which is where you go to someone, and I guess you have to go to notary for certain federal documents and, like, official documents. And they're scamming you. So you got to be careful about that. We'll talk more about that later. But Angie, this scam that we found out about and unfortunately happened to your family is insane. It is. Actually, my sister got a phone call a couple of months ago and it was pretty much like randomly like maybe three o'clock or so.
Starting point is 00:23:28 And she was saying that. PM or AM? PM. And so somebody called her saying like, we have your daughter kidnapped. And then in the background you just hear my niece like or supposedly cry and saying, Mommy, help me. But my sister when she got that phone call, like she got so nervous. Of course. That she clicked on them.
Starting point is 00:23:46 And then right away, they called back and they're like, do you think we're playing? This is your daughter. We picked her up from school. If you want her, if you want her back, you're going to have to give us X amount of money. And I know that, I think that phone call, like, maybe it's like, it went away. Right. But apparently it's going on right now. I know Maximo mentioned it.
Starting point is 00:24:06 That happened to his friend, I believe. No, it happened to him over the weekend. Yeah. They called him and they said his mom was captured. And they even had someone in the background screaming and yelling. Same thing. And it's a scary time. And I'm assuming that they're calling for ransom.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Or like, hey, if you want them. Yeah, they did. They called for ransom. And so my sister was scared, right? After they told her X amount of money, they wanted for my niece. But then she called the dad. Because at that day, like, her dad was supposed to pick her up. And they're like, oh, no, like I have her.
Starting point is 00:24:37 I don't know what that phone call was from. That's really scary. It is. And in these moments, again, we're really. lying on the fear that that's very present, the anxiety that's very present, just be very aware. Talk to the older folks in your house too because often they're the ones that get caught up in these scams, whether it's like, hey, local law enforcement is coming for you unless you give your social or type of deal. So this is where it's going to affect you. If you're afraid,
Starting point is 00:25:01 clearly our immigrant community right now is like all the levels are hard because, hey, their family member could really be taken. Yeah. So this feels like a real life situation. Be very, very careful and diligent and do not do not and it's almost scary like if someone caused me and there's a kid screaming in the background I just hear my kid how what what can I do hang up report it whatever that is yeah I'm wondering if they're calling from private numbers did yeah they were calling from private numbers that's why when she got that phone call at first she clicked just because she was really nervous but they called right back they're saying like you don't care about your daughter we have her it's insane no thank you thank you and it is scary just getting that
Starting point is 00:25:38 phone call because it's like oh my god like did they really get her yeah so I hope nobody gets that phone call, but just know that if you do, it's not real. Yeah, it's a scam out there. And already all the other stuff that are causing us anxiety, we don't need this. So just be prepared that these are the types of calls that may be happening. Yes. You know, yesterday we were, and before I get into Homey Helpline, yesterday we're talking about, I mentioned the movie Mi Familia, my family, right?
Starting point is 00:26:05 And how kind of what's going on draws so much similarity to what I watched in a movie. Granted, yes, I got my historical information from there. But it was when Edward James almost is the narrator of a movie, it's an incredible movie. And I suggest everyone go watch it. It's a beautiful movie. If you haven't watched it, it's a great movie. From Jaylo? Jailo's in it, yes.
Starting point is 00:26:27 What's it about? El California. Yes. Oh, my God. Buried in the backyard? It's just a great movie. I would put it up there. You know how they always talk about like blood in, blood out or American meat?
Starting point is 00:26:39 this is one similar in story, but more about family. Clearly it's called me family. And the deference, yes. The nun, the crazy. My sister eating. What did she do with the priest as well? What did she do with the priest? You need to watch the movie.
Starting point is 00:26:55 But it's all set in, I guess, early California. And it starts off before California or El California was in California, before California was the United States when it was still Mexico. And it's just a cool story. There's even a Salvadorian in it. It goes from back in the day to what would be present day, like in the 90s at the time. It was the first time I, as I have Salvadorian, saw a Salvadorian figure in a movie. But it's a really good story.
Starting point is 00:27:22 I would call it coming of age, but I like, that's like the San lot. Sanlaw is like a coming of age. Yes. You sound like Edward James almost, bro. Dude, I love that movie. You think I want to be like you? Yeah. It makes you look at owls different.
Starting point is 00:27:36 Really? The owl's there. So there's like, like, not those local? The owl. Ah, got her. What? That's like, Votos Locos Forever and stuff like that? Not too much, but one of them does fall in that.
Starting point is 00:27:47 And there's another guy that they say leaves, his name was Guillermo, now he goes by Will. Like he, it's just a different, it's a big family, hence me familia. Yeah. And what their lives entailed. And it's just, I just appreciate it especially in their time like this. But the reason I brought it up was as we're looking at things happening and, you know, they're telling us that at least 30 days of preparation, we got to prepare. prepare for. And I cannot help but go back in time because unfortunately and fortunately, which would help us prepare history, does repeat itself. Yeah. So I want to play a piece of the
Starting point is 00:28:20 movie where Jennifer Lopez, who's the mom of the family, who belongs in the United States, herself gets caught up with ice raids and gets taken back to Mexico. And when you hear it, it's a trip. You're going to hear a train. And I feel like that's the only thing different than what's happening right now. Yeah. But it's too true to life, right? now. Okay. So check this out. This is a piece from My Familia, My Family. Then came the day everything changed when my mother didn't come home from the market. It was the time of the Great Depression. I guess some politicians got it into their heads that the Mexicans were responsible for the whole thing. I mean, they were taking up a lot of jobs. Jobs that were named Puerto Rico, Real Americans.
Starting point is 00:29:07 So La Migra made some big. sweeps through the barrio and they rounded up everyone they could it didn't matter if you were a citizen like my mother if you look mexicano you were picked up and shipped out she had just been out shopping she wasn't allowed to come home my father was never told all alone that she was pregnant all these things really happen to just hear that right and granted it's a movie there's there's movie uh magic on it there's odd like you hear the train again and the busyness of a scene. But what do you say, 1938?
Starting point is 00:29:59 1938. The fact that we feel exactly like that time is unfortunate for what should be modern-day America. Sadly, yeah. Because even him saying like they did the rates in the barrier and it's like, dude, that's literally what's happening right now. And I go back to this movie, I've done an incredible movie, definitely shows the struggle of what our people have gone through and continue to go through in this country that it's not going away. And I would just hope that if you watch it, you watch with empathy, especially people that are like, well, they should have done it this way.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Well, it's only people that are criminals and things of that nature. Even back then, it's a sweep. Yeah. You know, and I do not want to get to the point. And I've seen there's been people that have gotten caught up and detained and their citizens or they have to, I believe I saw a story where someone had their real ID, which is meant to extra show that you're from here. You know, they tell us we have to travel with it.
Starting point is 00:30:58 And it's a way for them to know, like, okay, you're legit a citizen of the United States or a resident here. And the ICE agent reportedly told them, this is not real. Like I, so it's like it's up to their discretion whether. Just like the movie said. If they believe you or not. You just look like it. Then boom. You're out.
Starting point is 00:31:16 So I would encourage everybody to watch that movie. And Ever James almost, man, his voice. Sounds just like concrete. So much better than concrete. history, didn't it? Why does it have to be a joke? I really want this to be a touching moment. It is.
Starting point is 00:31:30 It is. But he's a comedian, remember? It's not, no. I'm an influencer. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm not that I thought. All right. Well, my love to you.
Starting point is 00:31:39 Not concrete. My love to you listening. Wow. Not to concrete? My love to Nikki. I love her too. Okay. Let's get into the homie help.
Starting point is 00:31:49 All right, check this out, homie. You need a homie or need some help? We need your head. We need a line I mean phone line We got you for The homie help line What's up, Perito
Starting point is 00:32:01 She's a boy Concrete I'm doing the homie help line today What? Yeah, he did so good at reading yesterday We're just gonna have him read more stuff Perfect You're going to read slow, right? Yeah, read slow, homie
Starting point is 00:32:11 Take your time H-E-Y Hey No empieces Okay, my back No-m-Pieces Hey, brown bag I'm struggling
Starting point is 00:32:19 And this weekend is going to get a lot worse In my personal life So my stepdad Who is super mega Wait, wait, who's the homie though? Caller D It's just caller D It's someone named D
Starting point is 00:32:32 D Oh, gotcha, gotcha Yeah, someone named D My stepdad who is super mega Y'all And I've always felt Now you're being funny He started it, bro
Starting point is 00:32:42 He did Say finish it These Homies need help Let's Okay Okay Yeah, these homies
Starting point is 00:32:52 These macadames Damienes. Okay, sorry. I'm going, okay, okay, fine, okay, fine, fine, fine. If you're driving right now, pull over. No, no, why would they pull over? Safely, pull over. Sound like ice.
Starting point is 00:33:08 Oh my God. Pull over. Hey, Brownback, I'm struggling, and this weekend is going to get a lot worse in my personal life. So my stepdad, who is super mad of y'all, and I've always felt to each their own. but man does this guy feel like he has to bring it up all the time thing is just like Trump he's married to an immigrant my mom it's really the weirdest thing
Starting point is 00:33:31 and for the past few years anytime we get together it's always a debate my mom has kind of submitted to it and just stays quiet but I'm outspoken and I can't let things fly they live in Nevada and the last time I saw them was Christmas a month after the election but he chose the day I came over to celebrate Trump's win. Balloons, confetti, piñatas. Oh, I feel like it was.
Starting point is 00:33:58 I added a pinata. Everybody's like, no, he did. No, he did. Not a piasapan. Middle school and the teachers reading the story. Just being loud and playing speeches to trigger me. I had to leave. I love being an American.
Starting point is 00:34:13 I served after high school, but that doesn't happen without my mom coming here first. So yeah, I left. For Mother's Day, my mom came out here, and she asked if I could go on Father's Day to the house. I can see she needs me. But I don't know if I can handle hanging out with my stepdad right now. Should I go? Should I put up with it?
Starting point is 00:34:32 He has his own kids. They don't even come. Brown bag. What should I do? That's one of the best reads you guys have ever heard. Yeah, honestly, it was really like, oh my God, great. I put character, vibe. I thought like Edward James almost was reading it.
Starting point is 00:34:49 I really like, talking you read it. doesn't even come in his voice it was that was his no that was his voice that was concrete james almost think cool i'm straggling my sister irene that didn't come over this weekend ian is a character in the movie my brother chucho if you watch it please tell me that you i'm gonna watch it and then you'll laugh more at the things that he's saying my brother chucho bro you're the little kid you're the son oh i know oh jimmy smith yeah oh my god You gotta see it. No, it's sad, dude.
Starting point is 00:35:23 Really? Yeah, because he tried to give him food. He bought him a Coke. Remember that he brought him a Coke and everything? You know, Lo Cariorea? He bought him the spacecraft. No. I'm talking about the little kid, the half Mexican half Salvi kid.
Starting point is 00:35:35 Oh, inches cabacho. Yes. Yeah, yeah. With the Aztecac. Little tepeak. Yeah, yeah. You got to watch it, B&R and our inside. And learn some a little bit of our history, too.
Starting point is 00:35:47 You'll like the movie. You'll like the movie. I hope he needs help All right All right All right D loves his mom Mm-hmm
Starting point is 00:35:58 Not his stepdad I don't know if he is He or she D loves his mom Or I don't know Loves their mom Not their step Sounds like a girl
Starting point is 00:36:06 Why Why? I don't know I just I think he sounds like a dude Yeah I thought so Especially because they said That they
Starting point is 00:36:15 They served They served I mean women could serve too I don't know I know, but in my head, that's what I thought. Say how you really feel, Angie. Yeah, that's wild. Whose sight are you on?
Starting point is 00:36:25 It sounded like a dude to me because they were like, I step up to my stepdad. Yeah, and that too. It's Denise. Oh, okay. Denise. Denice. All right. Whether, this child, this child does not like to go over to their parents' house
Starting point is 00:36:43 because their mom is with a guy that is very, has very strong thoughts and opinion. Yeah. You know, I think we've come across this online a lot or maybe in your circle or maybe around your family a lot. And for the most part, I guess when it comes to online, like Tyler of the creator said about online bullying, he's like, you just turn it off the phone or whatever. And it may not be that easy either. Anytime you get into these things and anytime you want to open up social, you can't
Starting point is 00:37:10 because the pings are coming in, right? So they're like, I cannot escape this person when I go over that. house. All this person wants to do is debate. And I guess assuming because Trump is our president that it may feel more of a he-hih-haha type of in your face. But which is weird because you're also married to somebody that could very well leave under the circumstances that have been put in place here on the nation.
Starting point is 00:37:38 You know what I'm saying? There's always that one deal that will bring up politics. And it's always a deal that always made over 60K for the first time. That's the deal. That's the deal that brings up politics at every single. dinner. He wants to start problems with everybody. He's fixing our economy. Yeah. Relax. I have an
Starting point is 00:37:55 opposite deal. What do you mean? He got a flat tire. He got a flat tire. Beechie Tron. That's a bad word too. I like to write yourself out after. No, y'all. Y'all got to give me a list, man. Bio, I need that list, player. 818-58-2059. Yes, we have
Starting point is 00:38:14 families. I guess it can even go both sides. Someone that you know you're about to see that is like, oh, I don't need this right now. I'm assuming D, clearly being from out here is understanding of what's going on, has served. You know, shout out to all our friends and homies and family and just people out there that are a part of the military, even are a part of the National Guard, even are a part of the Marines. And right now you're caught in a very weird moral struggle. Yeah, that's hard. And it's affecting you too.
Starting point is 00:38:45 Because like we've noticed, a lot of these soldiers. were seeing or these people were about to see Marines coming in from 29 poems, they have Latino last names. Yes. And I'm not too sure that they were like as ecstatic to get the call, but they have also a duty, you know? It's a very weird thing to balance. So my love to them too, it seems like this person was a part of the military and felt,
Starting point is 00:39:11 look, I love it here. That's not my qualm. Yeah. But I still have this empathetic feeling and it's so weird that my, My stepdad that is really, really super, get them out of our country, is married to somebody that they could get out of our country. Easily, yeah. Let us know how, I guess, should he go or should D go? Dee says, his kids don't even go to see him.
Starting point is 00:39:34 So maybe a little margar, a margar, dad? Yeah, like a bare dad or something. Because sometimes your mom isn't going to tell you that they need you, but they need you. You know, because it's kind of reversed. Their parents are used to you needing them. Yeah. Yeah. But they say, I've seen my mom submit to it.
Starting point is 00:39:48 I kind of see her just Bling twice, yeah. Bling twice, Facts. Facts. Yeah. But she has told me that,
Starting point is 00:39:55 hey, I need you. Can you come through? Yeah. Yeah. So we have D. Yeah. He hit us up. It's a dude.
Starting point is 00:40:02 Yeah. These bolas. What? So D is struggling about this weekend coming up. He or she wants to go. He. He just set back.
Starting point is 00:40:17 Okay. My bet. All right. So he wants to, his name is D, and that's his last name. He wants to go to his mom's house in Nevada. Mm-hmm. But he's struggling because his stepdad is a super MAGA gentleman. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:31 And he always brings up MAGA. He's always bringing it up as a point of conversation. He's throwing it to everybody's face. His kids don't even show up. His own kids. His own kids don't even show up to go see him. Damn. And his mom, you could tell his mom is blinking twice.
Starting point is 00:40:47 He's sending signals. Smoke signals. She's saying everything. She's uncomfortable. That means a stepdad's annoying then, huh? Probably. And he's been invited to go to father's family. A lot of husbands are annoying.
Starting point is 00:40:59 And a lot of wives just stay quiet. Not me. My husband is like so. I love hearing him talk. George, you do. You should come up and have a talk. He speaks me. Like, keep going, bro.
Starting point is 00:41:10 Like, all of them. No. George is an audio book. I want to hear his voice. It's my husband. Yeah. Jorge. Jorge.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Say his name correctly. He'll correct you if you say his name, George. He says the first thing they take from you is your language. Wow. My bad, Jorge. Why are you having to say it? All right. Back to the topic.
Starting point is 00:41:29 Stop being ADHD, bro. Focus. I have that, okay? Enfocate. And I don't take nothing for it. Okay. So, Dee hit us up. Dee loves his mom.
Starting point is 00:41:41 But stepdad seems to be very, very, I guess, a strong opinionated. And a lot of us are. About politics? And it could be on either way. And I guess that's why they say don't bring up religion or politics when you're around. Yeah, the dinner table. The family and all of that because it's going to lead to debates. However, it does seem like there might be like an alpha male thing going on too.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Because even if we're hearing from D, he's been in the military. He has strong opinions as well. You know, he said his mom came to this country and that allowed him to seek out and be in the military and love this country. And he kind of goes up against. somebody that says, get out of my country, all you illegal. And it's like, hey, mom, that was your wife. That is your wife, sir. She's sitting right next to you.
Starting point is 00:42:23 Yeah. So it feels very like there's a, I just see like tension. Whatever animals, butt heads, like ramps. Yeah, ramps. Yeah, I just see that happen. So he's tired of it, especially low-key. Stepdad has the upper hand. Like, if we're talking about debate-wise.
Starting point is 00:42:38 Oh. Because Trump won, the presidency. I'm assuming, like he said, for the past year, a few years, they always get into it. And I guess now it's like, ha-ha. Like for Dita hit us up and saying, I went on Christmas and that's when he chose to quote unquote celebrate the win. It's kind of like I know my stepson's coming over. I'm a rub it in his face type of deal. Right.
Starting point is 00:42:58 And with this happening now in Los Angeles, this could be another reason where you go. And it's like, well, you should have done it at a league. Well, they're doing something like that. And he's not trying to hear it. So, but his mom came on Mother's Day and said, hey, I would really appreciate it if you came out. They live in Nevada. I would really appreciate it if you came out. and spent the day with us.
Starting point is 00:43:18 You know, his children don't come. It means a lot to me. Can you please come? And he's like, no, I don't want to deal with that. But I know my mom needs me. Yeah. So I'm kind of stuck in that. Hang out with the stepdad that I know I'm going to fight with.
Starting point is 00:43:33 Or not show up and my mom needs me. Talk with some friends. Well, I would think it's like you're going to do it for your mom at the end of the day. It's like, yeah, it is Father's Day and you're traveling and all that stuff. But at the end of day, it's for your mom. Your mom is the one asking you like, hey, son come come over i'm not gonna call him dad even if there's a fire yeah i think that's fine yeah kpwr hc1 los angeles ellies number one for hip hop it's the homie help line and we are taking
Starting point is 00:43:59 your calls okay let's go to jay in cypress park what's up jay hey good morning brown bad what's up jay how are you this morning hey doing pretty good but feeling blessed this morning thank you all be that's all doing well i'm proud of you concrete you come a long way my guys thank you i appreciate Appreciate you. Thank you. See? Jay. Yeah, yeah. I hear you.
Starting point is 00:44:20 I was excited to answer this homie health line because I've been through a degree of this, right? I feel like most of LA probably has. But so I think my advice to D. would be to really take his service and use that to shut that food down because a lot of these magas, they're on this like loyalty to Trump. It's a whole, like, narcissistic thing that they got going on. It has nothing to do with, like, the actual United States of America's structure and government. So what our soldiers fight for is the Constitution.
Starting point is 00:45:04 What the soldiers fight for is our freedoms. It's not for the orange man in office, you know. So I would definitely, like, try to have that conversation with the stepdad, but also let him know, listen, you and I, we disagree, and out of respect, I'm going to ask you, to not bring it up and the service that I did to protect you and all the people that that run around with your opinion like I put in service for that I made that sacrifice so out of respect for my sacrifice and my perspective I need you to just hone that down when I'm here and then on the flip side I would really talk to mom about like an escape plan
Starting point is 00:45:49 or a mom you got to leave a mom yeah just go with me leave with me the last time you talked the last time you talk to go ahead the last time he talked to somebody about politics and you told them to tone it down how was it because whenever you tell somebody
Starting point is 00:46:04 that goes for like the other side it riles them up a little bit they riles them up and it's going to get them more yeah mad narcissistic abusers will not boundaries that's the situation right so that's to be expected but if he at least puts it
Starting point is 00:46:22 out there, like, listen, as a, like, sort of like an olive branch, you know, like, look, I do to have respect for me and for my mom and to tone that down. And then that's obviously going to be violated. That's exactly what happened in my experience. I had to tell my brother, when we're around each other, I had to cut off my, my brother and my mom. What? Like, they're like my only living nuclear family, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:46:51 So I smaga stuff, but it's honestly, my life feels a lot more peaceful. It feels a lot more peaceful. I went through displacement from these fires on my own without my family support because, you know what I mean? Because it's like if I got a leg to your MAGA nonsense, it's kind of help either. You know what I mean? So like we like there's going to be sacrifices. There's going to be lost. There's going to be grieving.
Starting point is 00:47:24 But I think it's just that it's a healthier choice to just let that fool know once he crosses that boundary, once he disrespects that that he's offering to just let him know. Okay. Look, now that, look, I already asked you, you know, first you give them a verbal warning. I asked you to respect us. You know, after you've disrespected that boundary, now I just can't mess with you no more. Yeah, I do think we look at some people in certain situations from the outsider and we can see it. Sometimes when they're in it, they don't necessarily see it. Or like they love this person.
Starting point is 00:48:04 Yeah. You know, they, they, they, they, they, she may love her, her, her, her, husband, you know? And I, and first of all, though, Jay, I want to tell you, and I appreciate you being so open about what happened in your life and with your family, because that is big. And I think that you're right, a lot of us are going through it. Because even within the same family, just like there's mixed status in the same family, there's mixed political opinions in the same family. Hence, why that term is, do not speak about politics or religion at the dinner table. However, it's really hard when you have to cut them off, I guess, for the sake of your own well-being. And that's a really,
Starting point is 00:48:38 real life situation going on. So, Jay, my love to you. I don't want you to go through life alone like that. Strong community of friends and like-minded, you know, like community, basically that they really have seen me through. I'm happy to report. I got a pass. But, you know, like, it was hard.
Starting point is 00:48:58 And it was hard before that because just, it's my mom. You know, it's my brother. Like, this is the last of my family members that I have to call my immediate family members. And now, like, it's like they're, they're. but they're not. You know, it's really weird, but it's like, it's like psychological and spiritual warfare out here. And honestly, we've got to do what we can to protect our peace and that's going to keep us strong, you know? Yeah, that's hard, though, because that's your family. When was the last time you actually talk to them, though? I see my mom, like, when my kids invite her to their events,
Starting point is 00:49:33 and it's awkward, I don't really talk to her. And my brother moved out of state, so that makes it easier, but it's been like, I don't, I can't, it's been like, I haven't seen them like on cool terms for in like a year or something like that. Oh, it's been a while. So there were that bad bringing it up that much? Yeah, that's the thing. It's like a narcissistic thing that they don't like, they have to impose their thoughts on you and they will not rest until you say yes, I agree. And as a brown woman with black children, I'm not going to sit there. I'm not going to sit there. and say, oh, because I'm going to tell them, like, who do you think you are? You are, you married an immigrant and you were the child of immigrants.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Like, my brother was also the son of him. My dad was an immigrant. So it's like, what do you, like, how do you not remember who we are? But if that's the case, I'm not going to sit here and try to convince you. I'm just going to, and I'm also not going to see here and try to be convinced. Like, we went through it for years during the first presidency. And then Biden came in, and they both. kind of got quiet and we're bitter.
Starting point is 00:50:40 And then before Trump won the election, I realized whether he wins or not, I just can't even deal with these people who are rooting for him anymore because you're rooting for hating on our own people on like human beings, though, you know? It's not about my rasa or your people or whatever. It's about like, we're all human beings. So who, like, I or is administration the authority to treat people? like we're not people you know yeah it shows more than your view on politics it shows your view on on like character as a personality and on the world so thank you jay thank you for calling in
Starting point is 00:51:21 um let's go to the word first of all we're talking about d who hit us up uh has a stepdad and his mom they live over in nevada the only thing is every time he kind of meets up with a stepdad it's very much like a debate like they're having a presidential debate every time they see each other and it's been getting to him especially with the time that's going on he's in a his mom did tell him, hey, is it cool if you come on Father's Day? You know, your stepdad, his kids don't come and see him. I kind of want to make sure that he has a good day.
Starting point is 00:51:52 But Dino's having a good day means he goes over there and it ruins his own day because it always ends up in that manner of it. It has to be a he-he-ha-ha, look what we're doing, go back to your country. And it's like, bro, you literally married in to the type of families. You are saying it's okay to break up. Yeah. So we're trying to figure it.
Starting point is 00:52:11 figure out what he wants to know should he go he can't handle stepping hanging out with accept that right now but knows his mom needs him all right let's go to hi brown bag bono dia um is it okay if i say a quick story i told handi um it just really affected me this weekend so of course um i was actually um they took my son out in the morning on saturday and we had to go um get something at home depot so we google did and it was the one in paramount And sorry, I'm like so excited And as I'm driving in I see the vans and I'm like
Starting point is 00:52:47 Oh shit like this is like It can't be you know Because at first you're like I'm seeing it firsthand When after hearing everything I just couldn't believe it So I drive into the parking lot And I see these two guys
Starting point is 00:52:58 Like an older gentleman and like a younger guy And I didn't want to honk Because I didn't want to like catch the attention Of anybody So I was I waved them down and he looked at me And I was like Come in, come in.
Starting point is 00:53:11 So they came into my car. And I told them, oh, it's La Migra, you know, and they're like, apocosite, and I'm like, see, see, see. So then they were, like, to the right part of this. Like, almost on, like, the main street. So I turned down the parking lot, and I went, obviously, the opposite way. So I'm like, where, I'm like, uh, where do they live in, like, no, no, I came to come home, and I'm like, okay, um,
Starting point is 00:53:37 I'm going to do you to do that. so long story short so they were really quiet and they were kind of like in shock and so was I to be honest because I was like you know it was a spur of the moment like decision and I just right didn't know you were moving almost off of what your instincts told you to do yes letty I was like it was it sounds kind of weird but like adrenaline kind of you know so fight or flight baby girl fighter flight and they told me they didn't tell me where they lived which was fine you know I was just like, where do you,
Starting point is 00:54:10 and they're like, no, I can't go to, anyways. It was in confidence, so I left them down. And I said, like,
Starting point is 00:54:17 we don't know much, and, like, let me as I drove away, I started, like, crime, you know? I don't know. And then my son,
Starting point is 00:54:27 who's 16, was like, mom, like, what we did, like, because we get in trouble and I'm like,
Starting point is 00:54:33 no, I don't think so. Like, again, just not knowing, you know? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:37 I said, I don't think so. I'm, but I, but I, had to do something, you know? Yeah. And so, yeah, so then kind of in the topic, I told my sister, because I wanted to tell somebody because I felt like I had it. And then she was like, why did you do that? Like you could have, like, you put Aden in yourself in like trouble and like da-da-da. And I'm just like,
Starting point is 00:54:58 instead of taking the humanity side of it, you know? Yeah. And it was just like, I don't know. I had like a really, it was a really tough. Because you felt in your heart you're doing the right thing. however other people could look at it yeah yeah and I would definitely do it again you know even in your even within your family um someone telling you like that was a dumb move and I think often like you you can never do right and I do want to say what felt right to you how is your spirit sitting if you hadn't said anything how would you have left and be today you know On the left day, like when they walked in front of my car, like he literally locked like the older guy, like locked eyes with me, you know? And I swear I will never forget like his face, you know?
Starting point is 00:55:49 Like if I think they were like, oh shoot, you know, too. And then it was just instinct. Like I literally, it happened like 30 seconds at least. I'm like, bang, bang. And then I opened the, like, I unlocked the doors and they came in the back. And then I'm like, it's not me like. They're like, have poco. I'm like, see, she, she is, you know?
Starting point is 00:56:06 And then that, it was just, it happened like, we need that. No, yeah, you're right. I think, you know, my girl always tells me, check your motives and intentions. And if your motives and your intentions were in the right place and you feel no conviction, sleep at night. Yeah, your conscience. Put your head on that pillow and sleep.
Starting point is 00:56:28 You're going to be all right. And, you know, well, concrete, actually, it's so true. And also, like, it's also, the flip side of it, too, was, like, I felt even bad meeting. remember, you know? Like, I was like, I still felt like I could do something else, you know, like, something more. But I could have, like, I'd be quiet and they were just like, mom, I came up for it, and I'm like, oh, okay, you know, I'm sickly done. Whatever you just said, I didn't even hear any. Oh, I'm sorry. It's okay. It's okay. It sounds like you're underwater. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:08 Even leaving them there let me make me feel like I could have done something else. Yeah. And what you're. And what you're at work. definitely did is very risky so I and this is tough for me because I was telling the crew earlier we're seeing videos and and it looks like my Tios my dad my Sahuilitos all of that kind of just taking a like getting chased down and not even like it's just a really sad sight to see and often like we don't know what our role can be as people that don't want this to happen and we're we're thinking on the humanity side yeah a lot of other people and the debates and everything or thinking on the on the debate side on the
Starting point is 00:57:47 cutting dryness I will never feel bad for a feeling for others you know and I and I think you have that in you it's tough and and it opens up conversations because my son was like you know it got us talking about it you know he's like why are they doing that or like they're not even doing anything to them you know blah blah blah and I'm like exactly so it is it opens up a lot of conversations you know and it opens up a way to educate, you know, people. And we saw it firsthand at this. Like, this isn't like somebody told me, like, we saw it, you know?
Starting point is 00:58:22 And totally has impacted me, like, these last few days. Like, I can't stop thinking about it, you know? Yeah. Well, I pray over that. I pray over that, that you can feel more calm and peace in that. I know you have to have those conversations with your family. And it's tough. And I hope that you have that conversation within yourself with God and with them.
Starting point is 00:58:43 I guess what would you tell Dee? who may be facing something similar when he has to go visit his stepdad that who's generally going to there's going to be a debate but it's not fun for D anymore basically off of what he's been seeing it's less of a like who can want to poo
Starting point is 00:59:00 on the the disses or the talking and now it's like oh bro I'm exhausted look what's going on out here I don't want to have that but on the other end stepdad is like no you go hear me what would you
Starting point is 00:59:13 honestly what I would tell him is to focus more on his mom, you know? And because obviously it sounds like, you know, he's not going to change his mind or his opinion on his stepdad, like his stepdad's views or anything. But I would just say to his mom like, oh, I can't make it out this weekend. Like, let's have her day together. And like, like, just focus on her, spend the day with her, go out there and really talk to her and make sure she's okay, you know? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:59:42 And just focus on her. And then him be honest with her and say, like, Mom, it's not you, you know, and I don't want to put you in any position right home and how it's not you. Yeah. You know, you have to make those kind of decisions even as adults and as moms, you know. She has to understand where her son's coming from, and she also has to understand where her husband's coming from. It sucks. You know, she's going to be in the middle, but she has to, she can't take sides. So she either has to accept that she's going to be spending time with her son by herself.
Starting point is 01:00:16 Mm-hmm. And if now she's not going to get her son. get any, you know, and that's awful wouldn't be good for her. That's what I would tell him to just focus more on his mom and be completely honest with her, you know, and I'll make her feel like it's her. Thank you. Thank you, Laura. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:00:33 I appreciate the call. I would hit up the siblings or her step siblings. The step siblings? Oh, the ones that don't like the dad? Yeah, like go. Hey, what do you say to not go? Oh, what excuse do you use? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:48 Send it over here. Nevada's too hot It's too hot It's too hot It's too far Oh yes Gas is expensive You just make up an excuse
Starting point is 01:00:57 Especially if they live in Reno No we don't know Is Reno really far? Yeah Reno's far Yeah Oh it is That's the mom
Starting point is 01:01:07 That's what I'm thinking It's the mom All right well Bring it over here All right We're gonna take a breather And coming up We're gonna talk to our homie Caesar
Starting point is 01:01:16 So Caesar's an immigration lawyer And I've been wanting to talk I guess more on that end of it. And Concrete has some shout-ups. Yo, what's up? Have a quick little shout-up, man. One of my best friends, bro. One of my best friends, Elvis Ovarado.
Starting point is 01:01:29 It's his birthday today. And I want to say, happy birthday. He is such a great guy, man. This guy has helped me in my career. He's been super instrumental in the last few years. And I just want to tell you, I love you, brother. Thank you, you and your family for everything you have done for me. And my family, brother, I hope today is one of the greatest days of your life.
Starting point is 01:01:46 I love you, brother. Shout us to Elvis. Happy birthday. and Nikki from Whittier, happy birthday to you too. Let's go. Let's go. Buenos Diaz, good morning to you. That was a really sweet message from you.
Starting point is 01:01:56 I can't wait until it's my birthday, and I get the birthday shout out from radio. I know, right? I too. Speech, speech. Change my life. Wow. Let's get on the phone lines.
Starting point is 01:02:09 We have the homie Caesar on the line. Caesar, good morning. Hey, guys. When is Zia? I'm here. Caesar. Caesar. What does the yes, I mean, Caesar?
Starting point is 01:02:15 Caesar, what law firm do you represent? it's MCM law group it's my law firm okay MCM law group uh okay i wanted to talk to because you especially you're an immigration lawyer um and we have so many questions about what's going on one of the main questions we have that i don't know that people are necessarily asking and it may be uh something that you probably are like duh that's a dumb question but we got a lot of them okay is it too late to start the process i'm not too sure what the process is to uh i guess uh get these document, get documented or do it quote unquote correctly. But I'm seeing that when people are doing it the quote unquote correct way,
Starting point is 01:02:58 their cases are being dismissed at courthouses and then ICE is being like, hey, what's up? Get in this van. People are scared. So I guess what would be something that someone who maybe is in proceedings already or wants to start proceedings to, I guess, make themselves feel more safe and secure to be here, what they can do? So number one, obviously, we always recommend have an attorney.
Starting point is 01:03:21 And I know it's not the easiest thing to do sometimes just given people's financial resources. But in general, you have more protection. Sometimes you don't have to appear in court if you have an attorney. The biggest thing that's happening right now is that Trump made an executive order in January for people who have been in the United States for under two years. That's why they're just missing these cases. They're going through a process. It's called expedited removal. So basically the department.
Starting point is 01:03:46 dismisses the case that closes out the case in court. So technically they're in limbo, but because they've been here less than two years, they're subject to this other rule. So before you go through your removal case until you either win or lose, and then you can appeal or if you win, you can become a resident or, but now it's this whole thing. Before, during the Biden administration, they weren't prioritizing these people whose cases were dismissed. They were prioritizing criminals. Now they're going after whoever they can. Yeah. Okay, so Cesar, you being an immigration lawyer, and you've been in this practice for many years, I guess, is it this time, like, you have to learn different laws, and it seems like a lot of them, like there's different things happening.
Starting point is 01:04:30 Like, I know that I just saw on the news that they're saying, I guess they put fees in place if you're here illegally, and now they're removing those fees should you want to self-deport, plus a thousand bucks to self-deport. Like, all of that stuff, is that some. types of changing information and updates that you have to continue, I guess, getting hip to. And what is your take on that specific, I guess, avenue that they're saying for people to take? So everything is changing right now. It's ever-changing. Immigration always changes during every administration from Biden, Obama, other Trump admin. It always changes every admin.
Starting point is 01:05:11 But during this one, what they're doing is they're just taking a more radical approach. some of the things they're doing probably aren't legal, but because they're going through litigation at this moment in time, they're able to do it. And again, most of what they're doing is they're asking, not even for forgiveness anymore, they're just doing it and seeing what they can get away with, as we saw with the Abrago. I mean, finally he came back, but it took some time. They put a bunch of excuses in the way, and they brought up criminal charges to say that, oh, the only reason we brought him back was because he's pending criminal charges.
Starting point is 01:05:44 Right. So it's ever-changing. The only thing I can say is just, I mean, I'm trying to say up to the term with everything. Yeah. But it's never easy because, again, they're doing things differently. They're not following the rules. They're not following the customs and norms they used to follow. So it does make it more complex.
Starting point is 01:06:03 I wanted to ask you, so what happens after, like, let's say someone gets deported and they have a business or a house? Like, what happens to their stuff? Well, actually, I've been having a conversation with one of the homies, and I think you know them as well at you with Irving. And we're trying to create this kind of guideline or this help desk for people who have these issues. Because, I mean, I know a lot of people, a lot of immigrants who have money stored up, have bought properties. You know, they're worth, they're good immigrants. I mean, if you want to put it that way, they stack some racks, as you want to say. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:40 Stacks in wrecks? That's crazy. No, I mean, I know a couple of people who are undocumented who've got millions of dollars in property. No, you don't know. No, you don't know about that at all. No, I don't know what you're talking about. But there are things that you guys are working on, I guess,
Starting point is 01:06:57 to make sure those things are similar to with children, there's something written of who can handle what or business affairs and things of that nature. And I mean, in corporation and making sure that you have those affairs in order, if something were to happen, so you don't have to sell, in a panic because I mean as we see what's happened in Pasadena after the fires and excelling is
Starting point is 01:07:18 going to obviously it's going to harm the community and so if we have that you're going to have people who are going to take a loss on what they should actually be making yeah so definitely it's good to be prepared for whatever happens and hopefully again as I said nothing happens to anyone but as you've seen it it's happening it's a reality but what's exactly prepared like we keep hearing that prepared, prepared, prepared, but what is that exactly? Like what should people know? I would say have a plan. Talk to your family. Hey, say, hey, I have this money set aside. If I am detained, go to this attorney or talk to these people, they should already have a little bit of details on my case. Try and get me out. Try and, you know, have something set aside because the whole thing
Starting point is 01:08:02 is if you're eligible for bond, you still have to get a bond. And I mean, obviously going through bond companies is a lot harder than just putting it up yourself. And so it's these kind of things. Having, like we talked about guardianship, having, if you have properties, having someone have the right to actually make decisions on your behalf, things of that nature, that's prepared. And just having a plan talking to someone who can actually facilitate this organization and things like that. Okay, so I would like to give you this last question as you are also navigating this court system.
Starting point is 01:08:35 And it feels like I'm assuming when with any lawyer, you guys have to know how to debate. you guys got to know the laws you guys going to know what's put in place and right now do you have clients that are detained and are they getting like are they getting deported or are they getting court dates like i know i hear that there's people in a courthouse and they're all cramped together maybe some missing what like we just hear these stories but we kind of don't see them after they leave as far as like the the public is concerned what happens there like where are they chilling in a correctional facility? Where are they now? So I do have some clients that have been detained. However, most of them are eligible for at least
Starting point is 01:09:17 requesting a bond. So we're in that process. And so through that, I actually spoke to the Coal Partnership for Human, Humane Immigrant Rights. They're called Churla. Basically, they have filed a lawsuit in federal district court of Columbia. And basically what they're doing is trying to stop this from happening in court houses. When you go to a courthouse, you should feel safe. You're going through a process. So they're trying to stop this whole thing from happening because, again, it does have what's called the chilling effect. People won't go to court because they're scared of getting deported. If they don't go to court, they get a deportation order and can legally be deported. Exactly. So again, it's really messed up because when these people are following the rules, then they're
Starting point is 01:09:59 getting picked up through this little loophole in gamesmanship by DHS and ICE. Thank you. Thank you so much for calling in. Is there anything that you'd like to say in English or Spanish? Because look, you're so good in English. And I'm like, who is this? Well, the first thing is, first, I'm going to be able to start with us. Second, thanks to all the people that are right in the protests and, so that's that they can't listen because, well, because, well, no, they're doing the voice.
Starting point is 01:10:27 And they're doing, it's a good, it's a right that they have, and they've been exercised. and, so I'm just a point, I'm trying to be part of this community and I'm
Starting point is 01:10:37 doing the more for my community also. And basically just to translate it a little bit is I'm just so proud of what everyone's
Starting point is 01:10:43 doing and the way they're showing that they're not going to be silent. They're speaking up for this you can.
Starting point is 01:10:49 And I think that's so important right now. Thank you so much, Caesar. Thank you for checking in.
Starting point is 01:10:54 I appreciate you, bro. And we will continue to keep in touch. You know, they said that this is going
Starting point is 01:10:57 to happen for at least 30 days, so being prepared for that. Keep your phone on ringer because it might be just me with another question. Not because Jorge got caught up.
Starting point is 01:11:08 Angie, chill out. Chill out. Cesar fixed that. Thank you. Thank you, that would be crazy. That was a lot of good stuff to know. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:16 Yeah, it's like good. It's a lot to, it's so many questions. It's so many questions. Yeah. Because everybody has questions of like what I do, what I do? Different situations. Yeah. That situation.
Starting point is 01:11:25 So it's like very, what is it validation? Not validation. It's a validation? It's a validation? It's not validation. I don't know. Great. You're just talking a lot.
Starting point is 01:11:32 I think it's because Maximum Vicar not here. And you're like, hey, let me just talk. I'll put my mic on the other. Oh, no, no, nothing. No. Just leave. Just leave. All right.
Starting point is 01:11:47 Keep it here. It's Power 106. Ellie's number one for hip-hop. You know, we're going to try our best to keep you laughing, keep you smiling. We are here together. It is really scary. That's no question. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:59 Yeah. Scary. Spooky hot. Yeah. But Concrete's here. We need that. We need that. Yes, thank you, Concord.
Starting point is 01:12:05 You know what? Thank you for making us laugh. I'm here for that. He's only made you laugh. He hasn't made me anything. What? Try harder, brother. Wow.
Starting point is 01:12:16 Tell me up. Concrete's going to try to. Oh, Concrete, you have the weather report. Yeah. Oh, thank you. So let me put you up on game. Should we do that or no later? So first of all, let me tell you really quick.
Starting point is 01:12:26 Concrete, before all of this happened, like last week, he's like, hey, I really want to do the weather report. Clearly, we're. We're like, hey, that's not maybe not the right time. But we've also been like, you know what, we should allow him. Be himself. The space. Yeah. So the weather.
Starting point is 01:12:40 The weather report. I mean, something. We should allow him the space. And we're going to do that. Sorry, I'm trying to find a song while I'm talking. You guys want to say something? No, I can't talk. And now the weather.
Starting point is 01:12:54 Oh, hell my dog. With concrete storm. Perritos is going down. This is the weather report. Right here on Brownback mornings, that was super loud. Did I say concrete storms? Concrete storm. Yeah, he makes it wet.
Starting point is 01:13:08 Taking over your thermostats. Oh, dehalo, thank you. It's my first day. It is, it is. It's my first day. It's a interesting name for the first day of it. Dehalo. Concrete storm.
Starting point is 01:13:17 Yeah. Have you heard of Dallas rains? I'm against him. Not just kidding. Dallas rains, it's up. Whittier, waitier, where the the athias are prettier. It's going to be a high to 82 degrees. It's going to be warm, but not hotter than your Tias Chilaquiles.
Starting point is 01:13:30 Bad nice, bad nice. Las bien way, for La Sherman Way. You're going to be a high of 85 degrees, but it's perfect time to take your beanie off, homie and let the hair blow. If you're in the desert in Palm, or Lancaster, you're going to have a high of 100 degrees.
Starting point is 01:13:45 Wow. Perfect time to keep your socks high and your shoulders. Super low, Perrito. Downtown Los Angeles, you're not cool in the heaven. You're going to be at high of 87. You're going to be in church sweating like a Reverend Perritos. Let's go. Long Beach, strong beach.
Starting point is 01:13:59 Long Beach. Your high will be 78 degrees with a, with a little four mile per hour gust of wind heading the east, enough to blow that little two and let loose, baby girl. Santa Ana, Polita Arana. You're going to have a high of 80 degrees. That's 8.0, warm enough to go out and find Disney and go to Nimo Primo Perritos.
Starting point is 01:14:18 That is your weather report from your brother, concrete from Brownback Mornings on Power 106. Hey! Your socks higher, but your shorts lower? Yeah, because you sag. Yeah. Say your fans, brother. Come on.
Starting point is 01:14:30 I don't know your culture. Come on, bro. Can I request Pasadena? I always hate one in the weather report. They don't put your little city. Oh, I was about to, like, give them problems because. I did regions. No, you did cities.
Starting point is 01:14:41 You did cities. Whittier's the city? I know, but yeah, but Santa Ana is an O.C. That is the valley. I don't know. Well, Mark Christie does, like, here's the valleys. Here's the mountains. Here's like.
Starting point is 01:14:52 Don't compare me to Mark Christie, dog. He's been doing it for 80 years. Ian, this is your first day. It's my first day, dog. All right. None of those are storms either. And his name is Concrete Storms. That's my name.
Starting point is 01:15:03 That's ultra-e-brough. Bro, the other pool's last name is Raines. It's not going to rain. Dallas Raines. Come on, guys. He's in California. He's on ABC 7. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:12 Markis is my favorite. Take bullets on social. I take bullet tear. Come on. Here I'm here. Take a brazza. A brazen. A brazen.
Starting point is 01:15:20 Not our HR asking concrete for his birth certificate. I've never. No. We been here for a while. Our HR just came in here. It was like, hey, concrete. Congratulations. your official first date.
Starting point is 01:15:32 Congratulations. Do you have a passport? I know. That was wild. Yes, you put his thing on? We're like, bro, she never asked us for that.
Starting point is 01:15:44 I've never got asked my passport when I was here. Be careful, be careful. Coulda. Gritete. It would be you. Should I go outside right now? No, it would be you.
Starting point is 01:15:52 I don't know. It's because he started speaking up. Yeah. Babe, but where were you speaking up when Clinton was doing it, dog? What? That's a comment he got. Oh, yeah. What were you in Obama?
Starting point is 01:16:04 Where were you in Clinton? Where were you in Ronald Reagan? I was four. That's what I was doing. I was four years old. Jesus. Obama, I was broke and living with bash, cutting his grass.
Starting point is 01:16:16 That's a true story. Baby Bash? Yeah, it was when you were a fareda. He was a failed rapper. Whoa. True or not true. Take that back right now. Never failed.
Starting point is 01:16:29 Just forgotten. You just. What happened? Look. No. This is the station that played my first song on the radio. Wow. You're welcome. So.
Starting point is 01:16:42 There nada. Wow. Was it on Sunday during our community hours? No. It was during the new at two. Let's go. And I came up here. Oh, he did a whole debut and everything.
Starting point is 01:16:56 Oh, yeah. Pick up tickets? Huh? This is my mixtape dog. No. He was a jazz kiddie. He's a successful rapper. Rapper?
Starting point is 01:17:07 You're a successful rapper, right? Are we going there already? Let's go. Are we there? Are we there? Are we there? We're here. All right.
Starting point is 01:17:14 I'm coming at you. Now I know. Now I know that we're there in our relationship. You're a successful rapper, right? Yes or no? Yes or no? Yes you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:28 He was. He was. I did great. He did great I did great Then what happened What do you mean? You tell me
Starting point is 01:17:35 That what happened Why didn't you stop rapping? I don't want to go there Because it's going to lower the mood Oh cool It's going to lower the mood Yeah Do you miss rapping?
Starting point is 01:17:43 Me? Of course Absolutely I better than all these guys Right here right now I don't know about that one I can out rap Lefty gumplay right now
Starting point is 01:17:49 I don't need The certified steppers I don't know What? Well what Angie what's going on You have to go through me first No but you know what
Starting point is 01:18:00 Speaking of rappers, there's been a lot of celebrities that have been actually speaking out about the raids, the ice rates that's been happening. One of them being the game, he actually made a whole post about it on his Instagram. He said, ever since I could remember, it's been black and brown in this city. From the early days of my childhood till now, we've been side by side through it all. All of us, all the time. Not always seeing eye to eye, but we've always shared Los Angeles for a very long time. I stand with y'all like I know you'd stand with us. And then he quoted Tupac saying,
Starting point is 01:18:32 We might fight against each other, but I promise you this. We'll burn this B down. Get us pissed. Yep. To live in Dianelli. So I said that was like one of the first ones that I actually saw. And then after that, I did see Tyler the creator. He did post on his Instagram story saying F. Ice.
Starting point is 01:18:50 The one that I did see was also applies. And I don't know, I felt kind of weird about it because in the way I felt like maybe I got scolded or like maybe the Hispanic community felt scolded. It said, Dear Latino Hispanic community, many thought voting from him for him was going to get you acceptance or monetary gain. You either overlooked the evil agenda or believe the lies and left a lot of your own people out to dry. No one deserves evil treatment, but elections do have consequences. And a lot of people were saying, we're getting mad at the place saying like, dude, we don't need this scolding right now. Well, he's talking to the people that voted for him, that's why.
Starting point is 01:19:30 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. In a way. But some people are a big part of it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:35 I've been seeing those comments a lot too. But the one that I didn't want to highlight was actually Dochi. Yesterday she won during the BET Award. She won best female hip-hop artist. And she took her time when she got up on stage to actually address what's going on. Listen. That's not. Well, big up to Dochi.
Starting point is 01:19:56 Beautiful speech. Yeah. I appreciated that speech. And I would like to take. I know that. that moment is to celebrate black entertainment television, celebrate music, everything that our black community gives us as a whole in the nation in Los Angeles, and it's done here.
Starting point is 01:20:13 I do appreciate that she was one of the, if not the only rapper in that place, to speak out about what's going on right outside. Yeah. Because otherwise it could seem like, bro, you're having a whole event and literally this is happening and no one's talking about it as if you're ignoring it. So I appreciate her stepping up and saying something because that can. Just like what I'm saying, some things come with consequences. Some people may not be happy that you spoke up because she didn't just speak up about immigration.
Starting point is 01:20:42 She spoke up about everybody, like and everybody that's going through it. So but don't you man, like we're writing for you. Yeah, we are. And the music's amazing. Thank you so much, Angie. All right. Keep it here. What we got going on outside is definitely, for lack of a better term.
Starting point is 01:21:00 a movie. Yeah. An insane one. Something that feels almost unreal. That's what I'm saying movie. However, what Governor Gavin Newsom and President Trump and I guess the back and forth that's happening on Twitter, it's all, it would be funny to me if it wasn't so scary to me. What's going on outside versus what's happening on Twitter.
Starting point is 01:21:22 Today, probably like an hour ago, Governor Gavin Newsom's office. So it's the press at the governor's press. office something. It's an official account representing Governor Gavin Newsom put out a video that they did and it's basically reading off a post that President Donald Trump did, but they a-Ied it to be read like if it was in the movie Star Wars. Check this out. A once great American city, Los Angeles has been invaded and occupied an occupying. by illegal aliens and criminals. Now violent,
Starting point is 01:22:07 insurrectionist moths are swarming and attacking our federal agents to try and stop our deportation operations. All right. This is a real post by our governor's office. And it's insane to me, because essentially they're saying, you fool, you sound like you're in Star Wars
Starting point is 01:22:27 when the president is writing about what's going on over here. doing the like the palpeteen voice yes yes newsome posted that on his page newsom's office posted it so it's the it's the office of the government you know like you know how like there's like don't trump has his one but then also the president of the united states so it's that one okay that posted it and it's just see me and just the back and forth that we've been saying all right arrest me bro okay yeah he should be arrested and it just it feels like it's playing out on twitter yeah as a back and forth or as some type of of Twitter beef or social media beef.
Starting point is 01:23:02 Yeah. But this real life stuff is happening over here. It doesn't feel as funny as you're trying to suck it to them. He's just throwing his hocus and go out there, too, with all the people. Facts. Doing that makes it feel like you're just like making it into a meme in a way. Like you're kind of just like... It's tripping me out, bro.
Starting point is 01:23:19 Yeah, it's weird. I'm totally tripped out by it because I would appreciate it. I know Governor Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass have done interviews, you know, they've sat down with press. I would appreciate them outside. Yeah. And I'm not saying like, hey, be outside and protest with us, but speak to us. Yeah. Address Los Angeles.
Starting point is 01:23:37 Yeah. You know? And it just, I don't know that these are the right strategies to go about it. I get it, though. I get it that it's, hey, this is social media battle as much as it's a real-life battle because you get the narrative on social media. Lo Kisom would say this president is an incredible at getting social media. getting social media and using it to his benefit.
Starting point is 01:24:01 But I don't know that doing it this way would be the answer, you know? Because people are actually in the streets in this time. It's not like there's just an online battle. This is like people are actually out there trying to make a difference about it. So it's like. So on one hand, I guess we're dealing with the actual separations of families and the sadness and the emotion that goes into that. Right. And our responsibility as who we are as people as part of the community to speak up and
Starting point is 01:24:27 speak loudly. And then our officials are posting a video clowning the way that Donald Trump writes a tweet or writes a message. Yeah. And has him do the Palpatine voice. Defense Pete Hedgeson and Attorney General
Starting point is 01:24:43 Pam Bondi in coordination with all other relevant departments in agencies. Yeah, it's just... That's too much. It's hard to take it seriously. It's hard to take it seriously. It's the Stormtroopers in the background with the tweet or the message. I don't know if it's on true social or on Twitter
Starting point is 01:25:01 that Donald Trump had posted this. But I don't know. It's just read the room, bros. Yeah, it's not the time, dude. Like, you should have done that when Trump was beefing it with Elon. Not right now. I don't think it's just a time to do that in general. Well, I mean, at least that one was more like.
Starting point is 01:25:17 It's like, where are you at? Be in these streets, dog. That's what you got to do. Yeah. It just makes me wonder, legit, where are you at? Yeah. Like, bro, there's a lot of. of unrest.
Starting point is 01:25:27 Yeah. And I would hope that that energy given into creating an AI reading of Trump to throw on Twitter, there's also some strategies because, again, we're being told that this is going to be 30 days. Yeah, that's scary. Just saying, this is going to be 30 days that we have to prepare ourselves for.
Starting point is 01:25:45 All right. This is just the beginning. Yeah, no, no. It is. This was just like the first weekend. That's it. Yeah. I don't even know.
Starting point is 01:25:53 I can't even think about it. Scrolling with all me. Gregory. Leti. Leti. People say that you should probably talk to your houseplants because sometimes they'll listen better than your own kids do. And this girl actually might prove everybody right. What?
Starting point is 01:26:07 Yes. She's going viral right now because she's getting in touch with Mother Nature. And she is saying that plants can hear us and understand what they're saying the whole time because they're living organism. I believe it. You believe it? Yeah. Absolutely. You think so?
Starting point is 01:26:23 Oh, we all believe it. I love it. She made a whole video that everybody's going to. crazy about because she's she's standing there just talking to a tree okay just saying move to my hand show that everybody that you can actually hear what I'm saying and prove them wrong I want you to listen to this and I want your opinion on it listen to this you can hear me I want you to come towards me okay you can hear understand me touch my hand come on bring it up and touch my hand touch my hand yes come come on it's okay touch my hand show them that you can hear me see that
Starting point is 01:26:57 I did not move. Okay. Okay. I see that you're touching my hand. Thank you. Thank you so much. I love you. Aw, little lady.
Starting point is 01:27:06 So the plan did touch her hands. Yeah. Yeah. You know what? So it did listen. It's a whole trend, bro. I've been seeing different girls do that. Yeah, me too.
Starting point is 01:27:12 Going to trees and parks, kind of standing a little bit away from them and then asking them to touch my cheek, touch my hand, all of that. Wow. Yeah. Do you ever feel a thing called wind before? Well, yeah. No, the breeze is all of that. It was understandable.
Starting point is 01:27:27 You're not, bro, I'm not, I totally get what you're saying This would be your vibes right here For sure You would do this I go and I talk to my plants all the time You're supposed to I don't know if you shouldn't talk to your plants Yeah, it's like that
Starting point is 01:27:39 I go outside and I tell I tell the plants that look beautiful The roses, the lemon tree I say thank you I love that So you're like In Mexico you gotta talk to them in Spanish What?
Starting point is 01:27:52 I'm a bit bit bit They've done the studies and stuff on plants I think they say that plants can even feel their owners, like once they're at the front door, that the energy shifts or something of the nature of the leaves may turn a little bit more towards the, towards when the person is coming home. You've never seen flycatchers, dude, how bizarre that looks? A flycatcher? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:13 You've never seen. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You've never, dude, that, tell me that's not a thinking plant to some degree. True, true, true. There's another little plant that's green. Dude, that is, it's hunting. That thing is hunting. I don't think it's thinking, though.
Starting point is 01:28:27 It just happens. What? No, I don't think it's thinking that has a whole brain. No, have you seen it happen in real life? Yes. I've seen it. Yeah. I bought them for my kids.
Starting point is 01:28:36 And that looks creepy, bro, because the plant waits exactly for the moment to where it knows it can close his clamps or whatever. Flight trap. And then, Venus Flight Trap. There it is. Uh-huh. And it's, dude, it's actually pretty bizarre. It looks surreal. And that's how I know that plant's stinky and has a little brain in there.
Starting point is 01:28:55 Yeah. Greg is going to hate that I'm about to say this, but you know, grass can feel when you cut it, and it's sad. Grass is pain when you cut it. Yeah, grass feels pain when you cut it. How? Google it. I'm not even kidding. Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:29:08 I want to know this. How? How does it? I don't know. I just know that that happens, bro. How do you feel things? When I get a haircut, could I feel great? Legit.
Starting point is 01:29:16 We're plants. We are plants? Yeah. How are we plants with you? The sun affects us, the moon affects us. We need water. We need water. We need it.
Starting point is 01:29:24 We're 80% water, big dog. You might think it's weird that we believe. It's actually more weird that you don't believe stuff is like that is connected or living or breathing. Like what, the plant is taking in carbon dioxide and spewing out what? Oxygen. It's doing processes. You think it does that blindly? Yes.
Starting point is 01:29:41 Or no feeling nothing. It's a plant. How is it going to feel something? It's a plant. What? Even, you're saying that it gets. It's energy. Energy is.
Starting point is 01:29:51 Yeah. You've never seen Avatar? Yeah, I've seen Avatar. I've seen a lot. Do you like that's actually one of my favorite movies? Because it's true. That's true. That's how Avatar is true.
Starting point is 01:30:01 I love Awa fresco. What is it? What? I made out of 80% I was fresco. Oh my God. Yeah. I don't know. You may not believe in it, Greg.
Starting point is 01:30:10 It's fine. But there's studies behind it. Like if you were to play music around certain crops, they grow different. If you were to start talking to a plant versus not talking to a plant, it's, they're going to see one bloom better. Even if you speak positive to one versus speak negative to one, all of these studies have been done, they will grow better or not. Again, like a person.
Starting point is 01:30:32 If I speak positive to you as a child, you grow up into a more confident person versus I would speak negatively to you as a child. You would grow up a little less confident or other things might be affecting you. Greg, do you believe in air? Yeah. Have you ever seen it? Air? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:48 Exactly. Are you believe in it? Yeah. And you know you need it. Yes. Everybody needs air. It's okay, well. Just get it.
Starting point is 01:30:55 We're a Green Gang 13, so you're not going to win here. Yeah. You should try it. You should try it. Oh, should I get some rocks, too, to add to my energy as well? No, but also, I'm not going to be mad at that either. What? You don't talk to your car?
Starting point is 01:31:09 No. You don't talk to, oh, okay. Maybe I do. You talk to your car. Your car's not a living thing. Your car is a... Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:16 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's because, like, this morning, when I was driving and I hit, like, a bump on the freeway, right? And I'm like, oh, my God. That's not on the car. It's on you. I touched my steering wheel.
Starting point is 01:31:26 I'm like, I'm so sorry, baby. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, I'll talk to it. But that's not, Angie. That one is manmade. That one may be... I don't know. I feel like if I tell her, like,
Starting point is 01:31:34 affirmations, like, you're going to get through this. With one more gas, please, Angie, just fill the tank. You got to do the oil change, big now. I need both of that. That check engine is not going to change. So what is it telling you? Imagine it needs all these checks
Starting point is 01:31:47 and you're here trying to be like, please work for me. Yeah. The car's like, please. Stop. For favor, let me water. Aseete. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:57 Greg, I appreciate plans. And when I go out with my boys, we take wogs, and every time we pass a tree, we say thank you for giving us oxygen. Oh, see? Oh. Yeah, that's a tree thing. And they give you bananas, too. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:12 Again, you got to be able to believe in something you can't see. Look at what we use. We're using Wi-Fi. Where is it? Have you ever seen Bluetooth, Big Dog? No. But it's working right now. But it's here, but you know what it exists.
Starting point is 01:32:25 Why is it so off the charts to believe that trees can feel? They do feel. Just understanding. Trees can feel. Have you ever seen the interweb? Yeah. Yes, I'm using it right now. No, but you don't know what it is.
Starting point is 01:32:37 You don't know what it looks like. It's right here on my computer in front of me right now. But you don't know how it's working exactly. Like those little, tuk-tuk-tuk-tut-too-d-you-don-se it. Yeah. Microways. Where are microwaves at? Sunrace.
Starting point is 01:32:48 You don't see them. They make paper. That's what trees do. Money. Yeah, you got actually see some rays. You can see some ways. Yes, you can. You can't see Uvrys.
Starting point is 01:32:57 You can't see that part of it. You just, you understand that it's there. You can't see haters, but they're out there. They're in your DMs. They're in your comment section. They're in my comment section.
Starting point is 01:33:12 Just be a comedian. Fine. Well, Greg, just, I don't know what you were expecting. I think you were expecting us to be like, how, look at this girl, she's so stupid, but totally get it. Yeah, no, my mom. I don't talk to her plants all the time.
Starting point is 01:33:23 We have an aloeira plant right outside our doorstep and like just to absorb all the bad you do if people come in. The olivera plant. That's its job to do that. Yes. Yeah. Oh my goodness. Thanks for that.
Starting point is 01:33:35 Greg. Thank you for sharing. I'm going to go. Trees are living, I'm going to yell at my plants right now. See what the difference is. That's actually really horrible. Yeah, you're going to come.
Starting point is 01:33:43 If you have feelings, I want to see if it's true or not. Well, that's horrible that you would do that. No. I would hope that you would do positive stuff. Little shop of horrors? Little shop of horrors. We're so old concrete. That's a real movie, dog.
Starting point is 01:33:53 Keep it here. 5106, when is the yes?
