But yesterday videos were going viral because it seemed as though ICE and LAPD who have said since the beginning of ICE kind of being out here more frequently have said, look, we're not in collaboration with them. We let them like we can't do any, like there's a federal thing that got going on. But we are not helping them with the immigration or with the. the deportation enforcement, right? Video circulated to what looked like, how would you say, like a border? Like LAPD putting a border between activists protesting and ICE

carrying out an operation. So since then people are like, what's going on LAPD? What are you doing? Are you in cahoots? Are you lying to us? Because since the beginning, you have said that you don't condone this stuff

and you're not collaborating. with them. All right, it might seem like another one of the Dodger things of like, oh, they were at our stadium. We turned them away,

but they're like, now we weren't. And then it was like, no, they weren't there. Like, what is it? Who's working with who? We don't know. Who's lying to us?

I feel really gaslit through all this. Same, same, same, same. We're definitely not being told everything, but the LAPD did respond with the statement and said, look, y'all, this morning,

meaning yesterday, we got, we responded to a 911 call reporting a possible kidnapping in progress near 9th Street and South Spring Street, downtown L.A. Initial comments of the call indicated that several individuals were attempting to detain people without identifying themselves, prompting concerns from bystanders, which seems like what we're seeing.

Right. Mass men, unmarked cars, no, I guess, reference to what agency they come from, so then people make the call. Upon arrival, says LAPD, the officers. and supervisors saw that the crowd was growing increasingly agitated and spilled into the street creating a volatile situation and a significant public safety hazard due to traffic and congestion in the busy downtown corridor officers requested additional units at that point they started making that border that they were saying of like trying to keep people off the street right

what's up big so you mean to tell me that they got a call that said some people are kidnapping other people and they're like, all right, bet, let's help the kidnappers. Yes, because as soon as they got there, they saw it was a federal thing going on. Oh. Because I don't think that they're just going to help any kidnappers. True. But at the same time, they cannot go arrest federal agents or whatever. Yeah.

I'm assuming. How do they confirm that someone's a federal agent? Like, did they go ask? Okay, now I'm the secretary of the LAPD. I'm just wondering. I'm treating me like that White House lady. I don't know, Doug. I'm reading their statements.

I felt like I was at a press conference, okay? But they did say, like the initial. initial thing is LAPD responds to kidnapping call and discovers a federal operation they responded to a call of the kidnapping they go it's a federal operation they're like all right but they did see that people were kind of everywhere so they try to push people off the actual street so they want to get her according to LAPD according to LAPD but councilwoman Letty how can how can the be a run at this point they do say LAPD's role was limited to

maintaining order and public safety officers remained on the scene to the escalate tensions. The federal agents did not notify LAPD of their plan enforcement activity in advance. The department responded based solely on the initial radio call reporting a potential kidnapping, which I have seen online on social media them say, hey, if this happens, report it like a kidnapping because that's what it is because these people that are grabbing people from our community are not saying where they're coming from, who they are or anything. They're just grabbing people and throwing them in trucks.

policy the LAPD does not participate in or assist with civil immigration enforcement. Since 1979, department policy has prohibited officers from initiating police action solely to determine a person's immigration status. So you're not going to see a police officer go up to you

and say, what, like, are you documenting and show me in your papers, all of that. It's definitely an ice thing. Yeah. What's it funny? Because I've seen like, sorry, and I've seen those videos where people who were like, identify yourself but then they're wearing like a sheriff patch or a police patch.

I feel bad too because yesterday, uh, me and Concord went to eat. And then there was people with badges and I instantly was like, huh. Where'd you guys go eat? And then they were just regular officers.

It just feels like they're like, all right, we didn't score the bucket, but we set the screen. It's kind of how it feels, right? Like, you know, on a basketball course, like, they're, they're, oh, I'm not working with him, but I did make it easier for him to do his job. I guess what are they supposed to do? You know what I'm saying? True. Yeah, like, I'm sure there's not like. I guess in the ideal world, you call, you call the police because ICE is saying, and what do the police do when they show up?

Yeah. I got the cops back and they do it. But do you get what I'm saying? Like at what point are, and then tell you like we got to keep you off the street because it's again, I know downtown Spring Street, bro. Oh, yeah, no. During the day. But also they can police the situation.

I mean, if the ICE officers are being rougher than they're supposed to with the people that they're rounding up, it's like, hey, hey, hey, hey, you don't have the authorization to do that. You know, you don't have to hit them with that. You don't have to do that type of force with them. You know what I'm saying? They should be policing the whole situation, not just one side. What I did see in the videos, I didn't see anything that was like at breaking windows, any of that either.

You saw the videos, right? Yeah, but I've seen people get tackled in the past. Right. But the police were not there. Yeah. I'm saying if they were there. So if in this moment, right, because this is the moment we're talking about this specific video. Right.

Is they pull up and they see what's going down. And so they kind of try their best to de-escalate, right? Yeah. I don't know that they didn't. do what they were sent there to do. Yeah. As a police or like, what would you expect them to do to just like take their tasers out on ice?

No. And then it's just like something else. No, just police the whole situation. Make sure everybody's being safe and sound. That's what they kind of... I think that's what they did. Yeah, well, I talked to my cousin.

I mean, I have a few cousins law enforcement and one of them, I was like, hey, what's going on? He was like, bro, we're just trying to keep the peace. And I see it and I do, I do think there's part of that where it's just a, since we're already anti you, it's like, F you too! Yeah. No, yeah, because he was literally a dumb.

Like, you think I really want to go out there? You think I signed up for civil unrest? He's like, bro, I signed up to, like, give tickets and help kittens and trees. He's like, I didn't sign up for all this. He literally says, he's like, dude, I didn't sign up for this, bro. He's all like, as soon as I went home, I was with the people. Yeah. And I was like, see?

And I think that's the moral dilemma. That's good. Moral dilemma that a lot of them are in. Again, I know one of my really, really good friends is a police officer. And I know since I was little, she was just someone that wanted peace and want to protect people. Yeah. And to, I guess, once you understand that, it's really hard to, like, go on the side of, like, FMO. I can't. Just like, they can't say F us all. It's like, dog, we can't.

Because they're scared of, like, they're scared, too. And this whole situation is really scary for them. They're human beings, but, like, they don't know where the next rock is coming from, whatever. Like, bro, come on. It's, it's on both ends, you know? Yeah. I doubt they're out there, like, just, hey, I'm going to sign up for civil unrest. I can't wait. Some are I'm sure some are But I mean there's bad apples and everything

All right, LAPD statements over what seemed to be, it looked like a collaborative effort between LAPD and ICE on camera, when bystanders were seeing an ICE operation happen, and there kind of be some type of border between, the people filming it and the ICE agents. Yeah. And LEPD responded saying, hey, we responded to a call of kidnapping

that someone made not ice. They didn't tell us beforehand. We show up and we see kind of the agitation and just the scene. So we try our best to get people off the street so that they're not like getting hit or anything and it's not the thing's crazy. Vic, you made a great point of like,

hey, if you're there and you're seeing like an ice agent go crazy, which I didn't see in the video, like an ice agent use crazy force. Like we've seen it. in other videos when they're not there, right, breaking windows, pulling people out. Unfortunately, that the father of those three Marines, they had him on the

floor and they kept hitting him. And the pepper sprayed him first, too. Yeah, my really, really good friend from the LAPD said, you know what? LAPD would intervene in excessive use of force even though they're an outside federal police agency. So even though

they are federal, they're like, we would step in if it was crazy excessive. It's still the jurors. restriction to some degree. Yeah, yeah, because then there's that. And also, like, we're like, are they bounty hunters? Are they regular people? Who are they even?

Yeah. But just some misconception, I guess. Right. It's squared away. We still understand it's not the best sight to see LAPD doing this and already are jilted past with the agency and kind of the different examples we've had is still been upsetting. Yeah. You know, but I think in these moments where we can shed a little light, we should shed a little

First up, he talks to Crawford about the time that Crawford got shot and was trying to get him to implicate himself in what happened to the shooter. Check this out. You had an extraordinary moment when you were younger where you were shot. You'd been playing a car game or something. And then you got shot where you were in a car and it hit the back wind screen. If it hadn't done that, it probably would have killed you. Tell me about that.

Well, I really too much don't like to talk about negativity. You know, it was things that happened in the past that's past me now, the type of lifestyle that I was living. I'm no longer living that lifestyle. Somebody was trying to kill it, deliberate? No, no. So it wasn't deliberate? Wrong place at the wrong time.
