Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, y'all. It's Jack Cottrella with the bulwark. And I just want to say it, Donald Trump hates America. Republicans want you to think that they are the flag-hugging Constitution waving patriots. But all I ever hear from this administration is how terrible Chicago is, how awful L.A. is that New York City is a hellscape. They can shit on quite literally are great American cities and still claim that they love this country. And when I say quite literally shit on them, I actually mean that Donald Trump, is now shitting on New York City, because after a long day of playing golf and being pissed off by the historic No Kings protest, that is what Donald Trump did. He made an AI slop video of himself in a fighter jet, which I don't even think his fat ass could fit in, shitting on protesters in New York.
Starting point is 00:00:48 People standing up to the oligarchy, standing up to his authoritarian project, and he is dropping feces on them. The president of the United States. I want to get into the video, but I want to start with what pissed him off so much, which was the historic turnout for No Kings. No Kings protest draws huge crowds across U.S. Nearly seven million protesters gathered across the U.S. on Saturday to take part in rallies against Donald Trump and his administration. More than 2,700 events were planned as part of the protest across 50 states as of Saturday as well as several internationally, including in London, Paris, Rome, Lisbon, and Portugal. This was the the single biggest day of protest in American history.
Starting point is 00:01:33 And of course, that was driving Donald Trump so crazy that he had to take to truth social. Now, there was a lot of slot memes put out by Republicans yesterday. Tim Burchett was it like Burger King thinking that that was effective trolling. But far in a way, the most ridiculous response I saw, even worse, like in some ways than Carolyn Levitt calling us all like Hamas for wanting to go out and say, hey, maybe it would be nice if we didn't have a dictator running things, was this video of Trump. Pooping on New York and specifically Harry Sisson, the liberal influencer, it is one of the craziest things I've ever seen. All right. So he's got a crown on and he's in a fighter jet. That's great. And we're dropping shit on New York.
Starting point is 00:02:12 Okay. This is great. There's Harry. And now he's covered in feces. And Times Square, wonderful, poop. Is it the president of the United States and he's dropping shit on New York City. Are we fucking serious right now? They hate us. They hate America. I'm really just tired. of this being a narrative that, like, Gavin Newsom can't say anything critical about Oklahoma, which I don't even think that, like, the literacy rate tracks there. And I'm sorry to my friends in Oklahoma, but seriously, Donald Trump can call New York a hellhole and he can shit on Los Angeles and say, we need to invade Chicago. And Republicans will just say, why didn't really see the clip? And dear Leader Trump, I was such a fantastic guy and he's such a patriot. Did you see the way
Starting point is 00:02:55 that he hump that flag? But you see this on the right, where They'll take the tiniest little out-of-context clip of someone vaguely associated with the left. They will make it a national scandal. They will use it to define liberals as a whole. But the president of the United States is like using taxpayer money to generate AI slot videos of him actually shitting on people, dropping feces. And again, Republicans will just say, well, I didn't see it. I don't know. Like, what standard do we hold Donald Trump to anymore?
Starting point is 00:03:29 Like, I know the media won't really give this any attention. I'm sure, again, Republicans will just say, why didn't I didn't see it or, oh, you know, Trump, he loves the memes. But he's shitting on us. I don't understand why we can't attribute the same level of accountability to the president of the United States that any random influencer on TikTok with 10,000 followers can now become a national story. All we saw from this administration over the past month was a, a, a justification for what they said will be, you know, increased police presence on the streets largely as a result of the left hating America. You know, anyone who posted something about Charlie Kirk was fired from their job, rooted out of the military. Conservatives in mass decided that they were going to get those people fired. But the president of the United States literally shitting on people gets no rise out of conservatives. It just doesn't track at all. But this is how they wanted to present us. They wanted to say that the people protesting yesterday, the seven million of us who went out
Starting point is 00:04:36 at no kings that we hated America, Carolyn Levitt said that we were Hamas sympathizers, that we were criminals, that we were paid. I don't have to be paid to hate Donald Trump. It's just something that comes very naturally to me. But I find it ridiculous that there will be no accountability, that Donald Trump continues to act like a child, that it is us who has to condemn political violence when, And right now, the president is carrying out extrajudicial killings off the coast of Venezuela because Pete Hegsath is too insecure about his inability to do his job.
Starting point is 00:05:10 And yet were violent, it really doesn't track. And the person who made the point clearest was yesterday at the No King's protest when Bernie Sanders said this. The Republican Speaker of the House called these rallies hate America. events. No. Boy, does he have it wrong? Millions of Americans are coming out today not because they hate America. We're here because we love America.
Starting point is 00:05:52 We're here because we're going to do. are going to do everything we can to honor the sacrifices of millions of men and women who over the last 250 years fought and sometimes died to defend our democracy and our freedoms. Bernie is right in what he is saying. This administration has been antithetical to every single value that we hold. But they want to claim and all of the stunts that they do and the flyovers and the Pete Hegseth propaganda videos that they actually care. But they want to divide us. And for that reason, I think it is so important that we reclaim the words that they want to use, namely freedom. Donald Trump has made you inextricably less free. There is nothing about this
Starting point is 00:06:53 administration that has made anyone's life easier unless they are a billionaire or a criminal or a pedophile. That's it. Those are the people who are more free because of Donald Trump. But if we want to talk about freedom, we should talk about the freedom to be able to call a genocide, a genocide on a college campus and then not be ripped from your dorm and thrown in a prison in Louisiana because Donald Trump and Marco Rubio are scared of the op-ed that you want to write. The freedom, as Graham Platner talks about, to not be weighed down or worried or scared
Starting point is 00:07:24 or controlled by your medical debt. as Donald Trump is giving a $440 billion bailout to Argentina. I think we need to reclaim these words in which we're talking about America, what it means to be free, what it means to be a patriot, what it means to actually love this country, and the words and the sentiments that Donald Trump tries to spin up every day to attack people who really do. But again, I find it so ridiculous that the president of the United States
Starting point is 00:07:54 faces no accountability daily for the AI slop that he posts, the attacks on cities that he espouses, and that anyone in his administration, actual government officials can say whatever they want, but the justification for full-on attacks on our rights can be taken because someone posted something on TikTok. Donald Trump just wants to find any political reason to divide people. And the latest in an interview he gave this morning is one of the stupidest, but one of the but one of the most targeted. I think they could just stay out forever. I mean, to be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:08:28 Now, what we're doing is we're cutting Democrat programs that we didn't want because, I mean, they made one mistake. They didn't realize that that gives me the right to cut programs that Republicans never wanted, you know, giveaways, welfare programs, etc. Cutting Democrat programs. Like, I think that kind of says it all and speaks to what this administration's real goal is.
Starting point is 00:08:51 We talked so much about probably Project 2025, rightfully so, and like the hard policy, what it would be doing. But I think just as much as Project 2025 being an agenda, it was also how can we create a feeling? What is the feeling that Project 2025 was supposed to instill? And it's pretty obvious because they talked about it. It is a feeling of separation from the government. It is a feeling of trauma. Russ Vaught said he wanted to on day one traumatize federal workers.
Starting point is 00:09:23 That was their goal because they want you to think that you are separate from the government. They want you to think that it is not yours, that you can't change it. And one of the most important things that we can do right now besides go out and protest and be in community is certainly to understand our role in the government. I feel like education is probably the best tool that we honestly have right now in combating Donald Trump because there is this air of his administration that they are inevitable. I think it's the most important idea for us to break, that Donald Trump will ultimately win, ultimately beat us out, that he is the king. He is the dictator. And our protest of him, of course, is speaking out, but how are you going to beat down the authoritarian? Well, he's not. He consistently loses about 95% of his court cases. And even though Carolyn Levitt says he's the most injuncted
Starting point is 00:10:15 president in history, maybe stop fucking breaking the law. And we'd see fewer injunctions. But this idea that the administration started out with. And then there was that New Yorker article or it was Vanity Fair, something like that about the shift happening in America. You saw that article about the cruel kids club, a conservative shift in young people. That's not true. My generation is disproportionately unable to find jobs, unable to pay for basic necessities, really tired of living with our parents because all of the wealth in our country is hoarded by a select few billionaires, And four to five houses are owned by every boomer. If you are a boomer and you do not own four to five houses, thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:10:57 I appreciate it. That is not a shift that is actually happening. But in the beginning of Donald Trump's administration, we were told that it was over, that this was a sweeping cultural victory, that there was really no point in fighting. And a lot of people gave into that. They said, oh, we should work with Doge. Oh, the Lake and Riley Act, allowing ICE to detain and deport any people without any cause. Sure, I guess this is where.
Starting point is 00:11:21 the country is, but it never was. We never were in that place. We certainly aren't now. Donald Trump is underwater on every single issue that he said won him this election, especially immigration. I don't really know how anyone could conceptualize what was going to happen. The torture prisons people were going to be sent to. But I think that there should have been some political foresight, considering, like I said, that Project 2025 was laid Now, before he got into office, and the sentiment is the most important thing that we could not beat these people back, that they were inevitable. But that is just simply not the case.
Starting point is 00:12:02 And I do think that that is so important in the context of what we saw yesterday, seven million people, a historic number, the most ever protesting Donald Trump, it was so bad for him that his response was AI Slop. Like, let's come back to that. Really? An AI shit video is what you have. have in response to the biggest protest of your administration, either of them, in a decade, it's kind of embarrassing.
Starting point is 00:12:29 And this continues to come up, like the stories that you see, the slop that's coming out, kind of the narrative around how much success Donald Trump is having now that the poll numbers are really taking. And this morning, I think we got one of the craziest yet. Trump has been reiterating this, but what he said right here really goes to show how desperate he is for some positive attention. So we're in Chicago now. we're being met with, by the way, the people love us, the people want us there.
Starting point is 00:12:56 I said, beautiful black women wearing MAGA caps all over the city. It's the most incredible thing. I love it. Whom? The beautiful black women in Chicago love you? Could we get like an affidavit? Can we get someone? I'm going to go ahead and say like, fucking that didn't happen.
Starting point is 00:13:15 This is my favorite genre of conservative justification for their. policy. It's always like someone found me in an airport and they pulled me to the side and they whispered and they put a little note in my pocket saying that I was the greatest person in the world. It's always like the behind the scenes like story, like our eyes met from across the crowded bar and they profess their love to me. Donald Trump, Don Jr. does this a lot. He talks about the airport. But no, Donald, I don't think that the black women in Chicago who you apparently want to drop shit on are necessarily in love with you. But I think the poll numbers prove that out. This man has hated, and he hates us.
Starting point is 00:13:51 And I think we should recognize that and act like it. I am going to make sure that we certainly change the narrative that the media allows to present. I think everybody needs to. And give this guy a little fucking dose of accountability. It is ridiculous that we have allowed this to be gotten away with for so long. But the president of the United States can continue to embarrass us. Fucking let's call it out. With the bulwark, I'm Jack Cottarella.
