Hey, everybody. Our stupid president was doing a rally in Texas Friday afternoon.
There are a couple of news items out of that I want to talk to you about.
The point of him going to Texas, we thought, was to make an endorsement in the Texas Senate race.
So we've talked a lot about Tol Rico and Crockett.
On the other side, you get Ken Paxton, corrupt, just horn dog, mag, a fool against John Cornyn,
who is, I guess, kind of like a spineless, like weasel man.
man, kind of an a feat, a feminine man pretending to be mask.
And we got a third candidate as well in that way is Wesley Hunt.
Trump instead, at the rally at least, did not make an endorsement.
Now, who knows, you know, the vagaries of the mind of our diluted president between when I speak into this microphone and when you see it, maybe he will have made a choice.
It doesn't seem like it, though.
Maybe he's just sitting on the sidelines.
The Democrats will just keep this between us.
hopefully it's just Democrats watching.
We are hoping for Ken Paxton in that one.
So I want to play a couple of the clips, though, from the rally.
And then at the end, I got a little dessert for you,
one other news item about Donald Trump's, like, unbelievable failures.
And we love it when there's an epic failure for Mr. Trump.
But on to the Texas rally first.
Which one do I want to do?
Why don't we do?
I think the most interesting news item we'll start with is his comments.
about one, Raphael, Ted Cruz.
Let's watch.
We have a senator who's really an amazing guy.
I'm thinking about putting him in the Supreme Court.
No, no, I'm thinking because it's very hard.
You know, getting these nominations through is very tough.
He's the only guy I know.
He'll get 100% of the Democrat vote,
100% of the Republican vote.
They want to get him out of there.
He is such a pain in the ass,
but he's so good and so tough.
talented Ted Cruz.
Thinking about putting them in the Supreme Court.
Oh, boy.
Do I want a podcast competitor in the Supreme Court?
It gets worse.
I don't think so.
It's something to think about.
There's some interesting politics of this,
because Ted has been kind of signaling
that he is interested in carrying the banner
of kind of the anti-Vance wing,
the more neocon, more pro-Israel wing
of the Republican Party.
against kind of the more isolation as being outside.
I think that's probably a loser's fight, but it's an interesting fight.
And we like it when they fight.
So maybe one of the thoughts here is sideline him.
Go ahead and put him in a robe.
The other element of this is that Trump is thinking about Supreme Court.
He's always speaking his internal monologue.
It's why I'm a little less into the conspiracy mongering about what's happening in the White House than others,
because Trump pretty much tells you what he's thinking.
of times. He just blurt shit out. He's just not really great at secrets.
And so in this case, I think he's signaling to us that there's conversations
happening with Thomas and Alito about getting one of them to retire so they can be replaced
with an ideological ally while Trump is still in the White House. I'm guessing that is that those
conversations are happening. A couple interesting subtext items to that. Clarence Thomas is coming
up on being the longest, you know, the Cal Ripkin of the Supreme Court, the guy that's
been there the longest, but he would have to go through Trump's term to achieve that. So there might
be some tension there. He wants his own position in the history books. Maybe more than
he cares about Trump. Maybe. I don't, I have no inside info. You know, his insurrection, his wife
doesn't talk to me. So maybe it's Alito. Alito has been, you know, doing some dirty pool. So
look to Alito there. Interesting, though, would Alito leave this year? Because I got to tell you,
A real question, a real test of Chuck Schumer's,
uh, cohenace and willingness to fight would be if the Democrats would take the Senate
and then Trump tries to replace the Supreme Court justice.
Could he McConnell it?
Could he sit on it?
Something to think about it.
So a lot of political subtext there.
You know, maybe some about the internal fight happening between MAGA and whatever,
the pre-Maga, rigid GOP represented by.
Ted Cruz weirdly.
And then also a signal, I think, that there is a deal afoot with Alito to move on.
Another interesting item from the rally.
I'm sure you've heard about the Texas Congressman Tony Gonzalez,
who is embroiled in like one of the most just hard-to-stomach scandal that we've seen in a while.
He was cheating on his wife with a staffer, sending a lot of dirty text to the staffer, including things such as anal question mark.
And then we don't exactly know what happened.
The staffer self-immolites, lights herself on fire, kills herself.
And Tony's still in Congress.
Some people have called from to resign, including Lauren Bobert.
It's what Donald Trump had to say about Tony Gonzalez in his home state of Texas.
It was a big primary coming up on Tuesday.
Congressman Tony Gonzalez is here. Tony, congratulations.
Congratulations.
Congratulations for what exactly?
Was he, is it a congratulations that has Gomar killed herself?
Or was it congratulations that he's still?
Well, I'm unclear what the congrats for.
Do not congratulate.
Probably should have been on the card there for Tony Gonzalez.
So we'll see what happens.
Just as quick aside, while we're talking about the Texas primaries,
there's another House primary happening.
And in Texas, you can vote in either primary if you want to.
You got to pick aside, though.
One interesting thing, if you're in Dan Crenshaw's district,
Dan Crenshaw is in real threat to a MAGA candidate from the right.
Ted Cruz actually endorsed that MAGA candidate.
An interesting troublemaking play for some Democrats,
interested in having a little fun,
would be to pull the Republican ballot, vote against Dan Crenshaw,
because he deserves it.
because he's been a lying prick while he's in Congress,
and he's been like pretending like he's the responsible one
while just being a total Trump sycophant.
And also because I think conceivably the Democrats could maybe,
that seat would be more attainable for the Democrats
if a further right candidate beat out Crenshaw.
So something to think about if you're living in the Houston suburbs.
Okay, one more clip from the rally.
I almost hate to show you this, but we'll just do it.
Well, maybe we do one more term.
Should we do one more term?
Do one more term.
Well, we're entitled to it because they cheated like hell in the second.
We would actually be entitled to it.
All right.
So we're back to floating the fact that he might get a bonus term.
I don't.
He's old and struggling.
And this seems like a bit at this point.
But I have always said one of the biggest risks.
of Trump is that a, that you can imagine an 81 year old man feeling cornered politically,
feeling cornered even legally, feeling cornered financially, his mind starting to deteriorate
even more.
Who knows what such a person might try to decide to do?
And so you kind of just hate to see him back to floating this nonsense about him sticking
around.
All right.
I told you I'd save you.
a little dessert.
There's a Friday night legal filing from Truth Social
where they
report their financials for 2025.
Are you ready?
We're going to play this as a game.
I want you to think about this in your head if you haven't seen it yet.
I just played this game with a husband and a friend downstairs.
How much money do you think truth social,
Trump Media and Technology Group, actually,
which is the parent group of truth social.
How much revenue do you think they brought in in 2025?
Just think about that,
but that's sit in your head for a second.
I don't know.
I'm trying to remember.
What did like when the free press got bought,
I think they were making,
you know,
there was just like a blog and they're making,
I think their revenue was 20-something million.
20-something million for that free press blog.
How much do you think Trump?
media and technology group brought in 3.7 million total revenue that's insane that's like nothing
like that's like the amount of money of revenue that like you make from like your two sweet green
franchises in a year your jack in the crack franchise in skokie illinois is bringing
than that kind of money.
So they brought in 3.7 million.
How much do you think they'd lost?
How much do you think Trump media and technology group lost in 2025?
Think about that number.
Figuring to yourself, I don't know, brought in 3.7.
Tim wouldn't be asking this for they made money.
So obviously spent more than that.
Maybe they spent, I don't know, 7 million or something.
That might be kind of rational lost 3 million.
They lost 712 million.
So let me give you those numbers again.
Trump Media Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, brought in 3.7 million in revenue and lost 712 million in the red for Truth Social.
This is one of two things I was going to say, but it's really bold.
This is a criminal enterprise where they're just paying out the Trump family and the Nunes family untold millions and figuring their billionaire buddies bail them out on the back end.
So it's a criminal enterprise.
And it's just an utterly incompetently run organization.
I mean, even if you could fake it and do better than this.
I mean, I could pretend to be a Trump supporter and start a blog that made more than $3.7 million.
I can tell you that.
And that would be easy.
So it is just the level of corruption and incompetence put together is something that defines the Trump administration.
And so this story that even in his private business, they're equally.
corrupted and incompetent.
It's just a nice encapsulation of the Trump era.
Like, this is the businessman you guys put in.
You guys are like, we need a businessman to fix the country's economy.
We need to look around the country and find somebody who knows business, who knows deals.
We can make sure that we recover from the Biden inflation.
We need to find us a businessman.
And Maga America looked around and they're like, this guy, the scam artist, the fake
television businessman.
We're going to look to him.
The businessman we need running this
country is somebody who has a company that brought
in 3.7 million in revenue
and lost 712
million.
I mean,
if it wasn't
so dark, it'd be really funny.
But here we are.
Here we are.
Hope you guys enjoyed that.
A little bonus segment. News is happening on Friday night
happen to be around the house. I figured I would get to you.
Trump in Texas, congratulating Tony Gonzalez,
floating Ted Cruz for the Supreme Court,
floating once again, the third term bullshit,
and issuing a filing that his Twitter knockoff
lost $712 million last year.
Be interesting to see who pays that bet off.
Subscribe to the feed, y'all. We'll see you soon.
