But MGM operates pursuant to an operating agreement with Eye Gaming Ontario. Hey, everybody, Tim Miller from the bulwark. Ops, there are some more leaked Nazi texts from the Republicans. This time, it is not just a young Republican group. It's a key appointee for Donald Trump to a high-ranking position within his administration.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Paul and Grosia, who's been nominated to head up the office of the special counsel. You know, a powerful office. Obviously, special councils have looked at investigations inside the government. And Starr famously represents in the office of the special counsel. Council and the Clinton investigation. So a key position, important position, powerful position in the administration, and Donald Trump has tapped this guy, Paul Angrasia, who I've only known as a Twitter troll in the past. It was ridiculous, preposterous nomination from the start, like in the vein of a Hague Seth or a Cash Patel nomination. But this guy's even more of a clown
Starting point is 00:01:20 than them. I don't say that lightly. Like, I followed this person on Twitter for a while. Their whole Oove is just offensive, racist, and stupid. And so to put it, this guy in charge of the office of special counsel is a mockery of the office of special counsel. And it's a, it's a signal that you want to weaponize that office to go after your opponents. And so what Donald Trump has done is put in in Grosia. And in these elite texts, he says, among other things, that he has a Nazi streak and that the MLK Jr. holiday should be tossed into the seventh circle of hell. Yeah, that's right. He says that it's him. I mean, he self-identifies as having a Nazi streak.
Starting point is 00:02:01 And before, you know, any of the magas out there stood saying, like, oh, you guys can't take a Nazi joke. You know, we're just joking. We're just being contrarian. We're just, you know, making offensive jokes as a commentary on the woke PC. Well, Ingracio, one of his previous scandals, if you want to call that up, controversies, was his promotion of a valid white nationalist, Nick Fuentes. Nick Fuentes, the leader of the Groyper's, the sort of alt-right group of young people,
Starting point is 00:02:32 and Gracia was supportive of him and floated him as an up-and-coming person to watch inside the MAGA movement. And now we have these texts, and you ask how they get out, right? Like, I think that's a sub-story always here, because you assume it's other MAGA's on the text. And Politico says they interviewed two people in the chat and gave them anonymity after they expressed concerns about personal and professional repercussions, but they said that they were providing these texts because they don't want somebody like Ingrossia in charge of this office. One of the quotes says the government should be stabbed with experience, people who are taken
Starting point is 00:03:05 seriously. Kind of a funny quote, talking about the Trump government. That's how crazy is. This guy is on a text chain of Magas, and a couple of them are looking at him and saying, you're too crazy for us, okay? The president is posting AI videos of himself shitting on Harry Sisson, but you guys, you on this chain, are too crazy to work in that. government, that clown car of a government, that idiocacy. That's pretty telling.
Starting point is 00:03:32 So let's go through some of the texts here. And one of them, he says, MLK Jr. was 1960s George Floyd and his holidays should be ended and tossed him in the seventh circle of hell where it belongs. One participant replied Jesus Christ, I guess somebody in there thought that was too much. He doubled down. He says, no, malignant, malignant. Malignant? I'm going to let you guys, I don't know if there are any old Italians watching this channel. And I'll let you guys tell me how to pronounce that. No, Malignon holidays from Kwanza, spelled incorrectly, to MLK Jr. Day to Black History Month to Juneteenth. Every single one needs to be eviscerated.
Starting point is 00:04:17 My understanding is that word I can't pronounce is a Italian slur for black people. So Ingracia is like dropping old-timey slurs from across the pond. these text messages. And then we go on to the text regarding the Nazis. Someone else in the chain texts. Paul belongs in the Hitler youth with Uber Grupenfuer, Steve Bannon. Paul replies, I do have a Nazi streak in me from time to time. I will admit it. Earlier, as I mentioned, he'd been a proponent of Nick Fuentes, so others in the chain replied, also referencing that. And somebody replies saying there's a new show on Rumble coming starring Nick Fuentes and Paul off Ingrossia, to which Ingracia replied, LMAO, laughing my ass off.
Starting point is 00:05:02 So I guess one other texts should be worth mentioning, shocking, he sent a text saying never trust a Chinaman or an Indian. So it's not just black folks he's going after. It's not just Jews. It's everybody except the brave Italians. Ingracia, in addition to this, it should be mentioned, also was investigated within this White House. This White House investigates nobody.
Starting point is 00:05:25 so it's pretty telling. Apparently, when he, in his previous job as the liaison for DHS in the administration, he brought some younger staffers, including younger women, to some kind of meeting, a retreat in Orlando at the Ritz Carlton. When they got to the front desk, the woman learned she didn't have a hotel room, and Gracius said that she would be staying with him. They later learned that he had canceled her hotel room and plotted that out to force her. her to stay with him. So Rick Scott, I should say, Senator from Florida has already said that he is not going to support Ingrossia's nomination. So a rare show of any kind of backbone from the Rick Scott exoskeleton. So, you know, surprising, you know, since you can see every, you kind
Starting point is 00:06:19 of vein and bone and muscle inside Rick Scott's body. And you can see the fact that he has a shriveled spine. It's interesting that in this case, it kind of, I don't know, sort of became a little more erect for once, his spine, just more straight up as opposed to how it usually looks. So Rick Scott, that means he can only lose a couple of other Republicans. We've not heard from, you know, the usual suspects who've been voting against some nominees, Susan Collins, Murkowski, every once in a while, Tom Tillis. So we'll see whether this guy gets through. And I think that this is a two-pronged story. One is the types of people that are being put into this administration, people that are
Starting point is 00:07:02 just blatantly unqualified, people that have long track records, public track records of advancing conspiracies and advancing vile smears against marginalized groups. The more ostentatiously racist and crazy and conspiratorial you are, the better. obviously if you're also ostentatiously pro-Trump. So he's trying to get loyalists in there, but not just loyalists, like the most ridiculous and clownish loyalists. He's trying to put them in places where they can execute his campaign of retribution
Starting point is 00:07:37 from within the White House. And so whether or not they're incompetent doesn't matter. It's actually kind of a benefit if they're incompetent because people that are incompetent don't have the skills, you know, to navigate around doing whatever crazy stuff, Donald Trump and his henchmen want them to do. You can see this. Another prime example is you can see this in a story over at Lawfare. Great story. The new prosecutor for the Eastern District that's going after Comey and James started texting one of the reporters over there at Lawfare, Anna Bauer, never said that she was off
Starting point is 00:08:13 the record. And that story just launched today. Hopefully we'll be talking to Anna for the channel soon. We should go check that over in Lawfare. I mean, they've brought on board these people who have no idea what they're doing but that's again it's a feature not a buck here they want that um at some levels you know they want some steven millers and russ vote people can actually execute but in these other positions they want total clowns um who they know will be loyal um and who have no other opportunities outside of the government um so they'll do whatever they say no matter how outlandish or illegal so that's one thing that's happening we'll see if the senate uh shuts down this guy. The fact that Rick Scott
Starting point is 00:08:52 decided he's voting against him, I think augurs towards them more likely than not, like that they shut him down, but it is definitely not a slam dunk. I mean, they confirm Cash Patel. So here's what we are. But the other thing that tells us is just, it's just more examples of how deep the rot
Starting point is 00:09:08 goes, like inside the younger, and this guy looks terrible for his age, but, you know, he's around the age of some of the older young Republicans or that other text chain. But of that like 30-something and younger Republican operative class, inside that world, this type of racism, this type of cruelty and just trashy behavior is rewarded right now. And people that don't want to participate in that, that have class, that get offended, that have some virtues that they're not
Starting point is 00:09:46 going to back down from have some principles they're not going to back down from people like miles who we published in today's bulwark they're going to leave they're going to leave just like miles did and some of them are going to do it quietly i appreciate that miles came out publicly and told us his story um but then you've got um other people that are going that would never have been in these positions like paul and grassee never would have sniffed this type of role in the bush administration Surely there's some incompetent people in the Bush administration, but like this, like somebody performatively buffoonishly incompetent was not going to be, you know, put in this role. So an actual person with experience and some judgment would be put in the role. And so, so now you're attracting in people who this is the opportunity of a lifetime, you know, if you're a crazy racist buffoon, if you're a total clown, if you're somebody that like, you know, crashed out of college because, you know, you're so irresponsible.
Starting point is 00:10:42 responsible, but you got very excited about posting Donald Trump memes on the internet, and those memes got a lot of retweets. You know, you're part of the Dilly squad or whatever Trump's meme team is, then this is the opportunity of a lifetime to have a job that you would never have any other time. And so there's a self-selection process here where the younger MAGA Republicans are, do tend to be more on the culture war right than, you know, their past cohort. were, but they're also kind of selecting in other people who are looking for community or looking for opportunity who are, you know, the most vile in their respective corners of the world. So I just think that, you know, the more we see behind the scenes of the kind of conversation
Starting point is 00:11:33 that are happening in the younger, among the younger Republican operative class, the more we see that we're in for a rocky ride ahead with this posse. So there you go. Subscribe to the feed. When they're text change, I'll be here. I've been hearing some rumors that Will Summers got a banger coming, so maybe we'll get the fingering potato trio back together for you guys soon. But I wanted to hop on and do this one myself.
Starting point is 00:11:56 Go check out the original reporting in Politico about Paul and Gracias. Appreciate you all.
